Really convenient location by Mission Beach with a casual fun vibe and good food. We tried the giant slice which was just fun to eat. Great crust and a spicy tomato sauce. My husband had the chicken parm sub and that was a little dry, but he loved my pizza.

When I think of chicken picatta, I think of a thin cutlet with a delicious lemon wine caper sauce. While the dish looked the part, there was no trace of the lemony goodness. The chicken was thick and overcooked. So disappointing.

Small but comfortable restaurant. Tons of beer to choose from and pizza was delicious. nice to have within walking distance from beach and Belmont.

Food was average. We didn’t try the pizza so maybe that was our problem. But the subs tasted like normal subs.

What a popular place! Did not try the pizza. We ordered a beef sandwich and a chef salad. Both were VERY tasty! The chef salad was enough for 3 meals - highly recommend :)

Luigi's pizza is delicious. Coming from NY where pizza is king, Luigi's does a good job on pizza for being outside of NY. It's a nice place along the Mission Beach to stop for a bite or take out back to you hotel.

We ate here one night and the food was good, large portions (ate half the next day) , service good, they had a big screen TV for sports fans but it wasn't the usual noisy atmosphere. Parking was a problem because it was across from Belmont Park (also a Friday) so we had to drive up and down a few times to find a place on the street

Luigi's has been around forever!! Great pizza for a great price. It's a small restaurant, but also has a small patio.

We ordered delivery and it tasted as good as if we were there! Delivery services ice was very fast.. doordash.com Food was so good! Big portions!

it's real a giant slice pizza, and it tasted good, too. A typical beach kinda eatery. Will go again for sure.

Ate their food several times while in San Diego for two weeks. Their pizza was great! Their service was good. The giant pizza slice is about equivalent to a personal pan pizza. I ate one with pepperoni and it was awesome!

Waited for a table, they sat us on the patio which would have been totally fine but it seems the patio was a place our server forgot. The table next to us had a different server and even though they got there later, they were served and ate before us. The other server kept assuring us " your server will be right with you". Our server finally did come and take our order but we saw her very infrequently and had to wait longer than appropriate for everything from our drink to our bill.

Excellent everything. We went in here as we are a middle-aged couple looking for something other than the imensly busy and noisy beachfront which we were not expecting, we thought the beach maybe a little more chilled out. Unfortunately not, so after walking along the beach then decided to try Luigi's, we walked in and the lady was very warm and welcoming. We ordered drinks then our meals. I had the shrimp fettuccine and my gorgeous wife had lasagna. Both were really really nice. This was one of the best meals of our holiday. The place itself is in need of renovating so doesn't look great, but boy oh boy are looks deceiving. I would imagine the young guys in the area love it, they had 6 screens showing NFL, baseball, hockey and poker. Fantastic service, beautiful tasty food, a more chilled out atmosphere where you can hear yourself think and actually hear your wife or partner. I know, I know, I sound old but it just worked for us! You have to go hear they deserve it. 10/10

We were looking for a good pizza joint, and we found it !! It is small, but we were seated right away (about 8pm on Oct 21). The choice of pizza's was excellent, and upon our servers recommendation ordered the portuguese hawaiian, and a caesar salad. OMG !!! SOOOOOO GOOOOD !!! Sauce, crust, toppings, all worked so well. We had leftovers which made a great beach snack the next day. When we come back to SD, we'll be at Luigi's for sure.

Went here with my family (wife and 3 young kids). Service was great! Waiter was awesome and very accommodating! The food was mediocre for the price. Pizza slice is huge but again the taste was generic, nothing to write home about. The Alfredo and spaghetti were kinda bland but portions were large. The mozzarella sticks were dang good tho! Overall the food was just ok, it was overpriced, but the service was great. It made a turd so what else do you want right?

We really enjoyed our experience here. While known for their pizza, Luigi's lasagna sure hit the spot. Does it get crowded? Yes, but worth a wait. Or get take-out.

Went with a large party and sat outside. Great location and the service is good. The food is delicious just pricey. Beer is pricey too but standard for a popular area. Our party of 6 shared and xl and the apps were yummy as well! We also ordered a few drinks and our bill was about $160.

Pretty cheesy pizza. A tad pricey. Service is quick. Salads are substantial. Multiple sizes, including the 18" extra large. Short walk to the Strandway or nearby hotels.

We went there last Saturday night at 6:15 and the place was packed. Didn't think we would be able to be served but the owner was very accommodating and happily said we have room for you. He is an asset to his establishment. I hadn't been here in over 15 years when I would come off the beach after surfing for a huge slice. Service staff was struggling to keep up with crowd and the place is very cramped. Tried to catch eye of waiter and I did...He actually did a double-take but never came over to ask what I needed. He probably thought I was just trying to catch his attention. Weird. After an hour of waiting I was ready to tell the server to bring our pizza to go. At this time the pizza came. This place is a victim of its own success. They had a ton of to go orders evidenced by the huge throng of people waiting outside on the sidewalk. The pizza coming out were mostly giant 30 inchers. I can imagine we had to wait because the ovens were full with to-go orders. I know the kitchen is small. Honestly, the pizza was not as good as I remember. In fact, the pizza being sold on the same side of the street as the Coaster saloon looked much better and was about half the price. Basically a tourist trap.

Super real Italian cooking and wonderful service at a fair price. Little extras very much appreciated. We visited by chance and loved it so much we are going back on Sunday.

Hand tossed with a nice selection of toppings. Good service...great taste... (their single slices are absolutely huge). Mixed drinks...good selection of beers (if you are a beer drinker). A nice interlude.

On the beach all day from imperial to Pacific and we're really ready. Had two entrees, Amaral's Portuguese penne and Ceala's fettuccine - fantastic. Took leftovers and ate most of it today. Lacking in style and grace, but made up in value, quality and taste.

Every year we try to plan on the extra large pizza from Luigi’s. It’s a real eye popper for kids and adults alike. It’s not the best pizza you’ll ever eat, but we get it for the shear size and because it’s a family tradition. Definitely worth getting it and starting your own tradition!!

Order carry out after arriving at the beach late afternoon. Nicely packed and all really very good. Gewat chicken parm (and I’m super picky about chick parm. This was nicely breaded, fried and covered in tasty sauce and cheese. Also had ravioli with shrimp dish. Both entrees came with salads big enough for our group of 6 to share. Kids had pizza which was also good.

Three adults and four kids. Very large pizza by the slice for $8 or $9 with a couple of toppings. Good service and a basic interior.

Great food! We ate there 4 times during the week and everything was great especially the pizza! Great service and great location! Love this place!

We had dinner twice while we were here. Their single slice pizzas are enormous- one is all you need. Also had a massive calzone, and a pasta dish. All was very tasty and filling. Not the place to go if on a diet.

$6.50 for a little solo cup of beer. Gladly pay that if served with a smile. Surly attitudes and overpriced beer do not make for a return customer. Food prices looked reasonable but cannot attest to the quality; Surly service pushed me out the door quickly.

Our pizza took 45 minutes from the time we ordered it over the phone to the time it was delivered and was close to the promised time when I ordered it. The delivery was to a hotel a mile from the restaurant and the delivery person was polite and tidy. Waiting for the delivery gave us time to shower and change after walking 60 miles for Susan Komen. 4 hungry women dug into the extra large pizza and there were left overs we gave to a friend. The crust was thick and firm, but not cardboardy. The Italian sausage and mushroom toppings had great flavor and were plentiful. Next time I visit San Diego, and if I am not too tired, I plan to visit and eat at the restaurant.

We ate several times here and everything was good. Portions are large and several companions said there was too much cheese on the pizza. The waitstaff was excellent on each visit! Attentive, fun and professional. The wine margarita was actually good!

Service was fantastic, pizza tasty and huge and walking distance from Belmont Park. Little tight inside but plenty of space on the terrace. Windows could do with a bit of tlc.

Was hungry and this was near the hotel. Really glad I came here. My wife and I ordered a pepperoni mushroom calzone and a medium Carnivoire (meat lovers) and glad we had a fridge in the hotel room as we had alot of leftovers! The Calzone is very heavy (lots of fresh mozzarella and toppings) and can easily feed 3 adults. Quite liked the meat lovers as they use smoked meats. Prices are more than reasonable especially being in a touristy area. Servers were super friendly too.

We’ve been coming here for years! And while the prices are a bit higher than the 90’s, the giant slice still hits the spot! If you don’t want to wait as long, get it to go, and go sit on the boardwalk and people watch as you eat. It’s truly the best!

We visited Luigi’s yesterday for dinner and they didn’t disappoint! We were so hungry and there was no way we could finish our entree’s. The pizzas are huge! I enjoyed the eggplant parmigiana that came with a large side salad, big piece of garlic bread and a aide of spaghetti. I took home enough leftovers to feed my teenage son dinner. The atmosphere is casual and the food is delicious. A quick 5 minute walk to Belmont Park and The beach.

This spot doesn't face the beach, but it still has the upbeat scenery of it. Our last night in San Diego we spotted this place after an afternoon at mission beach. We wanted some comfort food so pizza was it. We ate at the patio where they play soft music and have heat lamps to warm you up. Our food was fresh and filling. We ate Cesar salads and the tomato basil garlic pie. Everything was yummy. A few beers and some Moscato made it perfect. Enjoy.

Great pizza we bout the 30 inch, its pricey 50$ some for that size with a topping! nice cold beer. we got there just in time then a line formed outside. make sure ALLL your party is there to be seated, they're a little rude if the whole party isint't there, they are firm!!! when you walk in and start looking around for a seat they are yelling at you "hold on & how many?!!" but after your seated all is good!

Overpriced pizza. Nothing special. It wasn’t terrible but also not memorable. I would skip this & keep looking.

Our first meal in town was a gigantic calzone! It was great and enough for leftovers. We wanted pizza one night, ordered it to go, they had it ready at the desired time, VERY good pizza. The staff if very friendly too.

This is like a surf shop pizza place. The guy working the counter was very nice and helpful. They have a nice menu. I ordered fries and pizza. The order of fries was huge and the pizza was good. Very tasty. It was pretty fast. Overall a nice spot.

Our family travels to Mission Bay, San Diego multiple times a year, one of our favorite places to go is Luigi;s at the Beach. The extra large slices are bigger than my sons face and he orders it everytime. Delicious pizza, the sauce and pepperoni, mamma mia! We even buy the t-shirts for our son "Rocco", hey foget aboutit!

Located on a the main street right close to the iconic Belmont Park amusement park on the beach in San Diego, this little hole-in-the-wall has excellent pizza, small selection of excellent craft beers, and good prices. We stopped in late at night and it was one of the few places still open. It's small, but open along the front to the street. We tried a couple of their local craft beers and ordered their house special pizza. The pizza was about as good as we had tasted anywhere, and generously covered with good cheese and toppings. Service was excellent. So, it's not a place that will impress as a fine dining experience, but it does not even try to be that. It's a reasonably clean, basically furnished, handily located, and reasonably priced place for some good food.

Good place to have pizza and watch a game. Inside and outside sitting. We sat inside and watched baseball. Great service.

We've just been to this place for dinner on our first night in San Diego, what a find! Welcoming staff, happy to give you samples and recommend beers so you get one you like, we weren't disappointed with that, or the food. Enormous portions - we had lasagne, clam penne and a pizza, all of which was delicious. Great friendly service, loved it so much we're thinking of going back tomorrow night!

We read reviews and decided to give this place a try. The food was not that great. They refused to seat us even though there were bigger tables available. Over priced not that great food.

Omg. Friends suggested we have a slice here. Thank goodness we listened!! The pizza was amazing. My mom said it was the best pizza she ever had. That's saying a lot because she owned a pizzeria back in the day. :) We loved the pizza so much we ordered takeout the next day. We really liked the chill vibe of the restaurant. Our waiter was really nice. We had a great experience both with the restaurant and take out.

We happened in on a "cheapskates" Tuesday night. The 3 of us each had a $3 jumbo slice plus $1 per topping. Slice was a meal in itself. Only bummer was the fresh spinach on mine when I thought it would of been baked with slice. Flavors were good. Just around the corner is the amusement park.

Who doesn't love PIZZA! We placed a large order for a Friday night. 3 pizza's - seafood, BBQ Chicken and Tomato/Basil. All were excellent. Crust was the best. We also got 2 salads and they were full of yummines. My only complaint would be that they didn't let us know when our order was ready - you had to wait outside, so it had been sitting for over 20 minutes. We had to heat up when we got home. And than we thought we had order 2 of one salad and they argued with us about that. The lady didn't know what was going on and the gentleman was on the phone as we were trying to figure out our order. It was very frustrating! Other than that the pizza was really good.

We loved this restaurant, right off of Mission Beach. The waitstaff were excellent, the food was very good and service was fast.

The food was ok here. Had a disgusting glass with some type of goo served to us. Another sad part was they knew we were tourists, and added on an 18% tip without asking or telling us. We were just a party of 4. If I didn't look at the bill, I would have double tipped. For the cost, not really the greatest place.

The restaurant was really run down, had been encouraged by the queue to get in but that was a backlog of people watching basketball and taking up tables and in the end, after a LONG wait, the pizza was only okay and the lasagne so undercooked it was inedible. Our waiter was quite disinterested as well so there wasn't much to recommend about this place

Delicious pizza, great selection of local brew, daily specials, friendly service and a site to see, their 30" pie! Their burgers and fries were great too! Definitely, a place to eat in Mission Beach.

We both love shrimp pizza. Our first one we had it to go. When we open the box we could not believe the size of the shrimp. Nothing like the usual bay shrimp. The crust was good, our red sauce was great, And we went back two days later! Give this the highest rating.

Had a big family dinner on our last night in San Diego as the refrigerator was empty. Good food at good value, with only one exception. The kid's meal pizza slice, which is huge and would work for a light eating adult, was too spicy, more spicy than any of our other pizzas, and we had several. That said, the food was good and the wait not too bad. Service was good as well. We had a combination pizza and a chicken with something green on the top that looked like grass clippings but tasted great. Our vegetarian/vegan person went with the green salad, which was fresh and good sized and the fettuccine with marinara sauce. Rave reviews. Since we were a larger group, gratuity added, which was okay at 18%. (I typically do more, but their call.) Glad we went. Lots of televisions and the place is busy, even in January. Can't imagine July.

From the outside, the decor and the name this looks like it would be a great pizza place but boy the pizzas are not only disappointing but so over priced too. It came to $90 for three drinks (two beers and a coke) and three pizzas! The staff were super friendly and this is in a great location just a shame the pizzas don't live up to the expectation.

We saw this and decided to give it a try whilst at Mission Beach. The feel of the restaurant is so relaxed and welcoming. The great choice of different beers is amazing and I tried to sample;e a few. The pizzas are delicious but huge. We had 2 medium pizzas between 4 of us and couldn't finish them. The 30" pizza is huge, and there is a challenge if you are interested in trying to win. We loved our evening at Luigi's and the bill was reasonable. If you are in Mission Beach, give it a go.

Just called in here - for 1 beer. Ended up staying all night! The draft beers are amazing, the staff are great. Ended up chatting to the locals all evening & had a wicked night! Didn't eat, but the food looked amazing. HUGE pizza's. Loved it

We came here right after arriving at our hotel, Bahia. It was just okay in my opinion. I had the salmon sandwich and hubby had pizza. He said the pizza was really good

Anytime we find ourselves in the Mission Beach area a stop at Luigi's is an absolute must! The pizza is amazing and the Ranch is out of the world!! It's always worth the wait.

I gave this restaurant a challenge and Ricky and his crew definitely rose to the occasion. I had to feed a whole bus full of tired kids on a class trip. They were jet lagged, and had been on the go all day, and this pizza did the trick. The kids and teachers were warmly welcomed and fed well. This was all put together on very short notice, and Ricky made my job so easy by understanding what was needed and making it happen flawlessly. I will recommend Luigi's any time.

We've wanted good Italian and we got great italian food! Even the kids hamburger and fries were delicious! Best of all was the service with a smile! We will be back when visiting Mission Beach! A SUPER LARGE 36" Pizza is perfect and delicious for a large group!

We ordered two large pizzas for 6 adults and had almost a hole pie leftover. It was a good value and delicious.

Went to Luigi's on the first night of our U.S adventure after a full on day at SeaWorld. Kids loved it, Great Pizza, great service. Overall a great way to start our holiday.

We had a great family dinner while visiting Mission Bay. We shared pizzas and calzones and enjoyed all of it.

Food was great. Servers very friendly. Had the pasta with garlic and olive oil which I always have trouble finding on an actual menu. Price was good and we'll definitely return. Great family restaurant 👍🏼

Pizza slices were huge and chorizo sliced on top were very tasty. Fun little pizza joint that’s close to the beach. I would definitely recommend!

We ordered the grilled salmon with fettuccine alfredo. It was excellent. Service a little slow and it wasn't busy as we went early, but the food was worth it. The included side salad is a meal in itself!

We really enjoy Luigi's from their massive slices to their delivery, so many choices and the flavors are on! We visit every trip.

I have business in the area today and grab a quick lunch at Luigi's hoping it's Italian. It is. Only by name. The place is just half step above fast food. The salads are almost frozen, out of the refrigerator, “olive oil” is bad cooking oil, bread as in Subway, steamed mussels cooked with vinegar and pickled garlic from a jar. As if this was not enough, the sauce of the mussels has a ton of vinegar and half of them did not open. I'm not even going to address service. Just don't go.

Luigis is a family owned restaurant that's been in business for over 30 years. They serve NY style pizzas made from scratch (sauce and dough are homemade), hand-toss them, and cook them in a traditional stone oven. They also offer great meal-sized salads (try the grilled salmon salad), sandwiches, and pasta, and offer over 30 different beers. We ordered the 30" (yes, "30" is not a typo!) shrimp scampi pizza and it was delicious with lots of shrimp. The waitress couldn't believe that the 5 of us would come anywhere close to eating the whole pie, but we managed well over half, and the leftovers were still delicious the next day. If you're in the Mission Bay area, make it a point to stop at Luigi's for a meal - you won't be disappointed!

We were walking around the boardwalk area and found Luigi's so we thought we'd give them a try. Wendy had the Grilled Salmon Salad with walnuts and feta cheese $11.95 and I had one of the lunch specials , Lasagna w/ garlic bread and choice of soup or salad for $8.00, lunch is until 4pm! If you have a group of people or just a few really hungry people they have a 30" pizza! Also at least 25 beers on tap! Ricky took very good care of us and we will go back next trip!

We ate at Luigi's for dinner. It was within walking distance of our hotel. Good pizza and lots of beer selections.

I like a good pizza with great sauce and this didn’t cut it. Sat outside ,which I liked just wish pizza was way better.

The “giant” slice is INSANE!!! Medium pizza is great for 2 people. Garlic cheese bread with marinara was yummy! Service steady throughout.

Good pizza, and the other items coming out of the kitchen looked awesome. You can get a 3' pizza for a party or large group or a large slice just for yourself.

Great Food. Keep the pot smoking out of your establishment. I wouldn’t complain but my little kids were with me. Food was great and would come there again. Just smelled like Willie Nelson’s house!

Large slices of pizza, good selection of pastas, sandwiches and beer. The pizza slice is enough for one person the pasta and/or sandwiches could probably be shared. Good selection of beer including local craft beer, IPA and cider reasonably price. Good efficient and friendly service, they have a small patio are to the side. Recommended if your in the mission beach area.

We heard this place had great pizza. It was not great. It was incredibly expensive for what you got. I would never eat there again even though there are so few options in the immediate walking vicinity. Do not eat there. You will be disappointed.

Our family ate here numerous times on our trip to San Diego. The staff was so fun and helpful and there pizza sauce is amazing (I could eat it like soup...haha) Wish we had this back in Utah it would be a weekly meal for us!

I expect to pay a little more for restaurants near the beach, but this place was not only over priced but the food was not that good. The restaurant was also dirty, old pizza crusts on the floor, bathroom that needed to be cleaned. Skip it and eat elsewhere.

The restaurant was very crowded; however, the service was good. The atmosphere was pleasant, if not a little noisy. The food was not as good as expected. It was cold by the time it got to the table, and the flavors were pretty regular.

Great food and service here. During peak hours gets crowded. Pizza is the best. They have kids menu. When my 4 yr old grand dght wanted a quesadilla they complied with her order. Variety of beers are offered. Service has always been good. Food has always been good here.

When we flew into San Diego, we were starving and wanted some quick food, but we also wanted to be down by the water. Luigi's was close by Mission Bay, and it was easy to get to from our hotel. We ordered a Hawaiian pizza, which was loaded up with toppings, and our kids ordered slices. The slices were truly almost as big as our medium pizza. The pepperoni slice was a little greasy on top, but that didn't bother my fourteen-year-old. They offered several craft beers on tap, and the windows were open to let in the sea air, so Luigi's was a great first stop on our tour of San Diego beer and beaches!

Awesome giant slice of pizza and the pasta was wonderful! The boys insisted on going to Luigi’s every year we are in San Diego!

My wife and I stopped here for dinner one evening. We first started off with an order of chicken wings which were just ok and nothing special. We than ordered a pizza which was good but not great. This is more of a tourist place then a local spot.

We dropped in for dinner because it was only a few steps from where we were staying, and were very pleasantly surprised. The food was plentiful and good and the young waiter even talked to us for a bit. We enjoyed ourselves very much.

This a good pizza close to the beach. It is nice to have a slice on their outside patio. I usually make a stop in here each time I am in San Diego.

My brother rented condo on beach for a week and this place is so easy to walk to. Food was very good and service was excellent. We sat outside and found it was wonderful. Mission beach Blvd is very busy and us sitting outside was not bothered by the noise. The only down side to this restaurant was that they basically have to make margaritas with wine instead of tequila. (Although I need to remember that it is an Italian restaurant!). My daughter had a veggie type pizza that was excellent.

We ordered the shrimp pizza to take back to our room. It was a busy restaurant but we received our food fairly quickly. It was delicious! We will go back for sure!

This place has great pizza and they make their own pizza dough. You can buy by the slice, or if you ha group you can order as big as a 30” pizza. They also have a small bar and tables for seating. This is a very casual walk in from the beach atmosphere.

Services was terrible. It was 20 minutes after my wife’s side salad then dinner arrived before my side salad even showed up. I had the penne pescatore . The clams and calamari were over cooked.

We had a condo between the ocean and the bay and enjoyed the day in the sun walking on the promenades. After a nap we went to Luigi's.Ricky served us a very nice pizza with a beer and a glass of wine, enough food for dinner with some left over for lunch the next day. Reasonable and great location.

Great pizza, enthusiastic friendly waitress. Comfortable table. Two of us really liked the pizza, two thought it was just average. Small dining area. Close to the beach.

Don't be put off by the tired look of this pizzeria. The staff were super friendly and efficient and the pizzas were good and tasty. We had takeaway and they provided plates, cutlery and napkins - nice touch!

This is Really Good Pizza! Great location and servers. We enjoyed watching TV while eating hot pizza.

Luigi’s is amazing! We came here twice within a few days because the mozzarella sticks were some of the best we’ve ever had. We were lucky to have Danielle as our server both times. Even with a party of 9, she was patient and made sure we were taken care of at all times. In the post-covid dining world, service hasn’t been great at most places I normally love (which I understand) but Danielle was a nice break from that — just really good service. In addition to the mozz sticks, we also loved the pizza, Caesar salad, and chicken parmigiana. Glad I don’t live here because I’d be eating here way too often, lol. Can’t wait to come back next summer!

We found this place on our first afternoon in San Diego. The restaurant was a short walk from the Bahia Resort where we staying and is also a short walk from Mission Beach and Belmont Park. There is indoor & outdoor seating available. We chose to sit outside where there are plenty of tables with large umbrella's for shade from the sun. The server was very warm & friendly and we ordered drinks and fries which did not take too long to arrive. The food was warm & tasty and we returned here many more times during our holiday for drinks & snacks including the infamous Luigi’s Pizzas. We had both Pizzas and the Pizza slices which are huge. If you are really hungry you could get the 30 inch Pizza which is huge.

Really good pizza and a decent value! Yum. Patio seating if you can get it. Not a large place, but always busy!

The pizza that was served here was more American than Italian. The staff here were nice but the food was a bit too much! Also, you cannot put garlic on a bruschetta! You leave the bread plain with only tomato on it.

After a busy day sightseeing we decided to have pizza delivered to our condo. We had read that Luigi's was amazing NY style pizza so we gave it a try. The pizza was delivered cold and the flavor was very bland and the crust very dry. The worst issue though if that the price is what we thought was extremely high. Could have lived with that if the pizza had lived up to its billing.

Average Pizza, since it is so busy they don't have to try very hard. The pizza taste better when eaten in vs take out. One of the better options in MBA.

it was under cooked. Got it delivered and live just 1 block away so surprised it was really cold. Not a very good pizza.

We first visited this restaurant in June 2016 and since we were back in Mission Beach decided that we liked it so much the last time that we had to eat there again - did not disappoint - love their pizza...

My family ate here with our 14 month old baby. We elected to sit out on the patio in case of a mess from the infant. The service was excellent, the food was reasonably priced and very good! They were extremely accommodating and the dinners were excellent. We, on another day, also had a pizza delivered to our hotel which was also excellent! The XL pizza's are huge and I've never known anywhere to offer a 30" pizza! Very good food/value! I would recommend this restaurant.

I don't know where it is like during busy weekends but on a week day as a tourist it is a great place to stop for a bite and drink that is affordable. Menu looks good and well priced but I paid attention to daily specials on week days and hit even more bang for the buck. The food and service was great so it was worth my eating with the ocean view.

Great service, huge slice of pizza and the best eggplant parm! Very good selection of beers on tap. Highly recommend.

Excellent food and location. Family friendly and excellent service. Didn't try the pizza, but it looked great, the Salmon salad was amazing and the pasta with white clam sauce was great.

Great spot not far from Mission Beach and the main activity of the area. Highly recommend for kids, as the pizza is plentiful, crusts great. We had the Portuguese Hawaiian and it was fantastic. Servers were all great, and we were very glad we decided to stop in!

The 12 of use did a carry-out for pizza, spaghetti ‘n meatballs, and a kid’s chicken finger meal. We devoured almost everything. Pizzas are expensive but good.

A friend told us about this place and as many times as we have gone to the beach we have never tried the restaurant - this time we did and we are glad we did - the selection of beer on tap is excellent and the pizza was oh so good - got pretty busy while we were there but the service was great...

A small pizza place serving large by the slice pizza. Nothing exceptional about the pizza however ... It's just ok 🎶

We were looking for a place to eat, saw they had burgers, pizza and pasta. I really liked that the waitress was honest with us about the food and drinks. She said to stay away from the margaritas and stick to tea. She recommended burgers and sandwiches but not seafood. I had a burger, fries and a tea, my gf had french dip and a tea. It cost $39 dollars for the both of us, which might be ok if it was a great burger and it really wasn't. Food was just ok.

Great restaurant with a good family / local atmosphere - located right next to Belmont Park / Mission Beach. Good sized portions (check out some of the pizza options if you're mega hungry), reasonable prices, plenty of bottomless top-ups for soft drinks, really good family atmosphere, some outside seating - it's just got it all - great place !

Ate here when we were on our way to Belmont park for evening. Our hotel was in walking distance and my 5 yr old son has obsession with super Mario game so we had to eat here because it was called Luigi. The place was busy but we were able to get table. Ordered large pizza and salad for 2. The salad was ok (iceberg lettuce and lots of olives and onions) and pizza was good. The waitress was very nice and friendly. Has good location to beach and amusement park.

We ended up ordering some pizzas for takeout - the pies seemed smaller than the normal size pizzas. The place is very busy. I thought the food was overpriced but they don't have much competition.

We were looking for somewhere to grab some lunch and ended up here. The food was fantastic! The individual slices were huge! They offer a huge variety of fresh toppings and it tasted excellent. Loved the small family restaurant feel as well. If I'm ever back in the area we will definitely stop back here.

We were craving pizza and found this place! The slices were huge and flavorful but they were floppy and the toppings fell off when you picked up a slice and they forgot our ranch that we paid for. It was definitely expensive for the quality

Waited an eternity to have our waiter come and take our order. 20 mins for the starter to arrive and then for the 3rd time on our American road trip the main course arrived before we had finished the starter. War is it about chefs unable to deliver food at sensible breaks between courses. We never did get the onion rings, fries or salad which came with our respective meals but gave up he will to raise this without waitress who we never saw again after we had placed our orders. Food ok at best.

Had lunch here when in the area on business and found it to be pretty good. I tried the garlic cheese bread, which was very good and their pizza. I had meatball, green bell peppers and mushrooms. The pizza is a little thicker than my normal preference, but I still liked it. The mushrooms made it a little watery/mushy, so I would avoid them if I were to go there again. Our server was great - very friendly and efficient. Was on top of the drink refills, too - never had to ask.

Staff members were helpful to me in suggesting dishes I would like based on my preferences. This may seem odd but I tend to find, with Italian food, it's hard for me to communicate my preferences well... My slice and side of spaghetti were very good, and yes, the menu is right, the slice is bigger than many pizza joints' small pies.

Service: Our server Mike was prompt, courteous and checked in on us as needed. Food: Chorizo burger: it was pretty good. Basic fixings (mayo, lettuce, & tomato. Would have given 5 star if had some aioli or other panash to it. Baked Ziti: totally awesome. Fresh marinara that was light and refreshing with great melted mozzarella on it. Beer: mission double IPA ... It was excellent. Good mix of craft beers. If ever at mission beach would eat here again. And again!

Queued for this restaurant which is a good sign. Close to the beach so no need for a long drive if staying in Mission Bay. Service was slow but pizzas great. Friendly staff. The pesto chicken pizza was better than the BBQ. We ordered 2 large pizzas for 2 adults and 2 teenagers. More than enough. Couldn't face the man v food challenge!

Nice little place to eat good variety of food excellent service good range of draught beers pizzas from a slice to 30".

We hit this place every time we come here. Great for hanging out and watching sports and passer-byers. Great location and the food is good.

We found this place at the start of our holiday when they were advertising Tight wad Tuesdays. They had beer at discounted prices so we went in. They also had other offers on other days as well. The funny thing was that we went back most evenings for meals. Every meal was great. We tried pizza and pastas and they catered for vegetarians which was great as my partner struggled finding places that did. The even better thing was that they did delivery which was amazing as one night we were far too tired to walk out to get food so they delivered it to the hotel complex. We found their pizza sizes funny. They varied in size and some were huge. I guess you have to see them yourself to appreciate the size. All the staff were friendly and welcoming and the prices were very affordable. One of our favourite holiday places and would absolutely recommend people to go here. I would go so far as to say that this made our trip to SAN Diego

My daughter and I ate here twice, once with just her dog and once with her dog and friends. Both times the staff was extremely friendly, brought a bowl of water for our dog, the food was great. My daughter didn't care for her cheesecake and without being asked our server noticed and took it off our bill. The patio was perfect for our pup. We will make this a regular place when we go to Ca!

NIce Italian, good pizza and food, the sauce is quite nice not just tomatory but with a hint of spice, a real kick to it. Very palatable. Again huge portions, the giant slice is true to its name. Helpful servers, efficient and coutreous

Honestly it was pretty good. We got an x large pizza and it fed 4 of us, 2 adults and 2 kids. Garlic bread was nothing special but good. All in all I would recommend it but expect to wait a bit. It's a busy place in a busy neighborhood!! The guy that took our order was very nice and accommodating no complaints about the staff!!

Needed a feed after a day of shopping in San Diego and found this place close to the hotel... The pizza was amazing and as quickly as it hit the plate it was eaten by the kids. First pizza we have had in the US and this was great. The staff at Luigi's were great and made the experience. I'd recommend this to anyone. Wish these guys were in Brisbane Australia.... Thanks guys.....

quite possibly the worst meal I’ve ever had.. waited 50minutes for meal to arrive and was so disappointed when it did. “Pesto Pollo Fettuccine” - chicken in creamy pesto sauce with tomato & mushroom the picture says it all.. top heavy on the pesto (not a creamy sauce as described) with very little chicken. very overpriced at $22 and little interest shown by waitress.

Great Pizza but horrific price! We had two small Margerita pizzas with three additional toppings delivered for $62.-!!

Our wait time for dinner was long for us-40 minutes. The food was worth it, though. Lunch wait was much less.

Recently visited Luigi's with my wife and 2 grown children. My daughter is allergic to gluten and dairy. She ordered a gluten free crust and no cheese Carlo's Carnivore and said best ever. My wife said the Manny's Meaty Chorizo Cheeseburger was great. The service was fast and the outdoor seating was toasty warm with the over head heaters.

Surprisingly good food for a hole in the wall joint by the beach. I really enjoyed the spare ribs, and the service was pretty good, too.

I have never, ever, ever had pizza that was better than this!! And I have definitely never had a pizza with Gouda cheese on it! Absolutely, hands-down best pizza I have EVER had!!

We visit Luigi's on every trip to San Diego. Sometimes twice. This time was no exception and the quality is always great.

Looking for a quick convenient meal we ate here , good choice of food and drinks available. The food was ok and nice drinks.

This is our go to place the night we roll into Mission Beach every year. Nothing fancy. Just good food. 1 teen had the pizza slice - beyond huge. I had the Salmon wrap which was really good!Hubby had the steak melt. Also really good. More than enough to fill you up and it's tasty to boot!

We visited this restaurant last week on the strength of favourable Trip Advisor reviews. As this was our twelfth visit to the USA, we are experienced Stateside diners. My wife had the large Pizza slice while I started with Chicken tenders immersed in some type of hot 'buffalo wing sauce.' Thank God I only ordered 3 of the things. They were utterly devoid of taste and appeared to be a cross between rubber infused with polystyrene. Virtually inedible - though the sauce was definitely burning hot. The worst chicken I have ever tasted anywhere. My wife stated that her Pizza slice was the worst she ever tasted (despite its enormous size). Apparently it was virtually free of tomato sauce and contained limited cheese! For main course I had shrimp and pasta which was much better, eminently edible, though a little 'over oily.' One major plus about the place was the superb service provided by the waitress called 'Elizabeth' (who was generously tipped accordingly). Any view of my posts will underscore the fact that I am always fair and reasonable in my assessment of accommodation, services and restaurants. Therefore, as an experienced traveller, I cannot flinch from my view that this is one of the most unsatisfactory restaurants we have ever visited.

We picked this place mostly for convenience as we wanted a simple lunch before heading to the beach. We each had a pizza slice which turned out to be the largest slice I had ever seen, and very tasty as well. We had lunch on the patio which was a great way to enjoy the beautiful sunshine and when we were finished, we walked to the beach. Service was great also.

We had a 26 member family gathering with the main course from Luigi's. The late delivery, while annoying, was tantalizingly worth every morsel. You need a really long plate to hold a piece of this delicious pizza and you'll be licking your fingers to save those last aromatic flavors. I think 2 was the most pieces eaten by anyone. We had a whole pizza left over for you guessed it breakfast which met every ones' expectations! Yeah, Luigis is the place. Too bad it's so far from Orem. When in San Diego, though, this is a must!

I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that a pizza place like this near the beach is overpriced and mediocre, but I was hoping to be surprised. I’ll give them a bit of a pass on the not-so-hot service - it’s a beach place and I get that. But then it’s really pretty dirty and grungy inside… well… ok… still cause it’s a beach place? Then the food - incredibly mediocre, not great pizza that is a bit overpriced. Ugh. Put it all together and I would skip this place next time for sure!

Our waiter Manny was very friendly, the food came fast and was hot! The margaritas were great, overall I would recommend this place to anyone!

Headed here tonight because it was close to our vacation “home”. Service was prompt, drinks were good, and food was event better. We had hand tossed pizza with fresh ingredients. Server was on his game! Ranch is homemade and to die for, especially since I am a Midwesterner! Very good for a casual meal by the beach. Lights could have been dimmed more. There is no view but you can smell the ocean breeze. I would recommend! Cheers

Had salmon that was in desperate need of seasoning. There was no flavor to it. The giant slice of pizza is so big it doesn't fit on a plate. Instead, it extends beyond the plate so much that half of it lays on the table. We found that to be a little gross. Husband could not finish the slice, but he did like the taste. To me, the pizza had way too much oregano on it. The service was good.

We went here during our visit to the beach and my son was dying for some pizza. I ordered a slice and he ordered a slice and boy they were HUGE! The server was a guy and he was super nice and I felt like we were guests at his home. I would definitely go back with my family! The pizza was good too!!!

Visit this place every time we visit San Diego and never disappointed with menu selection or service dine in or pick up. Stop here for your Italian cravings and if you think you are man enough for their 30" pie challenge-go for it

I don't have enough words to describe the pizza we ate here on vacation... but we went back the next night to have dinner here again!! Pizza slices bigger than your head and friendly service all around!! Sat at the bar both times and enjoyed conversation with the bartender as well as other patrons. A great little place that we WILL visit again next time we're in Mission Beach!

If you like pizza- this is the place for you!! Great food- for pizza- it was super fast!! Great drink selection, lots of nice patio space- and you can't go wrong with any thing on the menu.

Decided to give this place a try after a long day at sea. We walked in and got seated right away. Just as fast, the waitress spilled the drinks all over our table. Luckily my wife noticed the waitress seemed off, she pulled back just as drinks spilled. New drinks arrived but not the drinks we ordered. We proceeded to order our food. 2 out of the 3 appetizers made it to our table. We were a bit hungry and it seemed busy everywhere else. We stayed and ordered the entrees. 4 out of 6 entrees made it. The waitress which also happened to be the manager kept screwing up not only our evening but a couple of to-go orders and some orders from tables around us. She blamed the kitchen every time. Even went as far as turning around to face cooks and gave them the finger. My son waited close to 45 minutes for his pizza, took it in a box. We finished our meals (the ones that made it to our table) and proceeded to check out. We were charged $38.50 for a calzone. As if spilling the drinks and bad service was not enough. Do not dine here! There are PLENTY of other spots.

Late night delivery. Our eyes looking at the online menu are bigger than our stomachs. But, too tired to walk to Luigis so we got delivery . I forgot how big "one slice" of pizza is! They claim it's bigger than a small pizza. They LIE! It's bigger than a medium pizza! Delicious and too much pizza. We ordered several "slices." About 4 slices too many! And their ceasar salad (with anchovies added) is far better than many white-table cloth restaurants! Thanks Luigi! We try to come down every time we are by the beach.

We went for lunch and ordered a lunch special. We both could only eat 1/2 of our half sandwiches. The waitress convinced me to get the onion rings, best ones EVER!! Top quality ingredients and lots of meat.

We dined here twice. I don’t know if they have thin crust. We just ordered and it was on the thick and fluffy side. You can get beer or wine or a bottle of wine. Centrally located at Mission Beach and easy to find. We had left overs both times and the pizza crust warmed up fine —-not tough.

It's the middle of our vacation, feeling a little lazy & Luigi's does deliver so we took advantage! Our daughter had Caela's Shrimp Fettuccine which she said was okay, and she loved the onion rings. My better half had the Pollo Con Broccoli which was very good, and I had the Meat Lasagna which was excellent. Our only issue was the blue cheese dressing that they sent for our side salads seemed a little runny for our taste. The driver was prompt & the food was nice & hot!

Great little italian restaurant for pizza and pasta. We had the football shaped calzone which was huge, had to take half home to eat. Very good sauce and I would highly recommend! Located conveniently on Mission Blvd. in Mission Beach.

Great beach location, the food was awesome the kids eyes popped out of their heads then the pizza came. Great place to enjoy some time with friends and enjoy a pie.

On a recent Mission Beach vacation, wanted to try an Italian Pizza place. This restaurant did not disappoint. Their pizza and crust was wonderful. The service was fantastic. Will definitely return.

When my family vacations on Mission Beach, we always try to have a dinner here. When they were little, my kids were AMAZED by their giant pies. They are tasty as well with generous toppings. Salads are satisfying and fresh. The beer selection is good. Location can't be beat! Service has always been good as well.

Went here with my wife and 3 kids. We all ordered something different. I can't remember ever being to a restaurant where all 5 dishes were meh. My wife ordered chicken - which was rubbery and pretty much flavorless. I had a giant pizza slice - I can attest to the fact that it was the largest slice of pizza I have ever seen, but it was no better than Chuck-E-Cheese. In fact, I would swear that they took a kid's bland cheese pizza made hours ago and threw my ordered toppings on top. Even my hungry 6 year old boy took one bite of his chicken fingers and quit - said he didn't like them. What kid won't eat his chicken fingers? The waitress was pleasant, but the kitchen service quite slow.

Love this place! Found out they deliver! Veggie pizza is awesome! Also try the fettuccini. You will not be disappointed.

Staying in the area for the week and on our first dinner we went to Luigi’s. Good food, great serving sizes, and an amazing server. Ricky was very attentive and charismatic. They occasionally have gluten free dough which my daughter had for her pizza as she has an allergy. Two other pizzas and a calzone were ordered and were great tasting. Steps from the beach and nice outside patio and indoor seating areas.

Went a little later when it wasn't crazy busy. Got great service. They have good beer selection and good pizza. Loved the bruschetta pizza!! Good onion rings too. Will go again - so convenient when staying at Mission Beach!!

The big slice is $7 + depending on toppings and so delicious! We stopped to get it as a snack and it was worth it. The ambience is cool, they have a diverse menu so everyone in the family can eat whatever they want. Prices are good as well.

Ate here a few times during a week long stay at Mission Beach. Only had the pizza, because it was amazing! It's a nice surprise when the mushrooms taste like real mushrooms. The giant slice really is huge and can easily feed 2 people. Prices are very reasonable for the area. Mostly we got our food to go, but did have table service once and the service was very good.

Brilliant if you want something a bit different, good music friendly atmosphere and excellent pizza. Good kids menu.
Yeah, Go Here!
A most excellent NY style pie! Highly recommended! We even went back another day for a few slices ,so yeah,go here!
