Back to the 50's

By Travelingkansasrose |

The exterior didn't do justice to what I found inside. I'll admit that since I'm a child of the 50's, I was at first put off by the tats and piercings of the wait staff. I soon got over it. They were friendly, accommodating, and engaging. The food was excellent and I had the best hot fudge shake of my life. Even in the 50's. It was way more than I could consume. I only wish Luna's was in Kansas so I could become a regular. If I'm ever back in Seattle, you can bet I'll go back to Luna's.

A Seattle 'must'....

By Gary H |

Located over the bridge in West Seattle..you will need to use your Google Mapping or ask directions..it is almost under the bridge. Very laid back and funky...kids are encouraged..and dogs have to be left outside. Outstanding grub on a large-ish scale. Go hungry and sit back..and early on a weekend is good too. It's gets pretty busy. Make sure you get one of the funky stickers for your car window, eh.

Great pre-game breakfast spot!

We were looking for some new pre-game breakfast places south of CenturyLink. Fun funky place with great breakfast food. A do-again!

Fun retro diner in West Seattle

By SeaWAgirl5 |

Luna Park Café is themed like a 50s diner, with a working jukebox and all sorts of antique signs and retro lunchboxes on the wall. The wait staff are friendly and contribute to the fun, quirky character of the café. There is a huge breakfast selection, with some healthy options as well as waffles and several types of omelets. Lunch and dinner is standard American fare, mainly burgers and sandwiches with some salads and appetizers. There are enough options to satisfy everyone. I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve ate here. They also make excellent milkshakes! There’s lots of flavors and you can mix them to get exactly what you want. They bring the shaker to the table, so it is easy to split a regular size milkshake with someone else in your party. This is one of our favorite restaurants in West Seattle. We come for breakfast, lunch and dinner all the time. They offer all-day breakfast (except the pancakes and French toast which stop at lunchtime). It is a smaller restaurant and gets busy, especially during the standard meal times on the weekend. In the summer they have patio seating available too, just let the hostess know if you’d prefer to sit inside or outside. The parking lot adjacent to the building is small. If you don’t luck out and find a parking spot there, there is plenty of free street parking along Avalon (as well as a nearby bus stop for buses going to and from downtown Seattle). It’s also pretty close to Alki Beach, just a short drive up Harbor Ave.

Great atmosphere and even better food/service

By Brian Y |

Spent a three day weekend in West Seattle and ate here three times. The club house was excellent. My wife had the French dip. Day two I was up before the family so I snuck back down by myself :-) and enjoyed the taco, hobos style. Mmmmmm! And we just wrapped up our weekend with blueberry pancakes and strawberry waffles that we shall make a special return trip for! Bit of a wait? No worries, walk next door and enjoy a great cup of coffee at The Shack.

Love the atmosphere and great food too

By Blacklabofthenorth |

Love all the old funhouse and playful decor. Food, coffee, service are always good. Can be a little wait to get a table sometimes, but you know- that's the sign of goodness awaiting you. Relax and enjoy.

Cool decor and wait staff, okay food

By Zipster16 |

Love the décor here. Our group ordered the buffalo wings (5*), grilled cheese (5*), The Works burger (5*) and two fried chicken dinners (2*). Followed by apple-cranberry pie ala mode (5*) and peanut butter milkshake (5*). I guess the lesson here is to avoid the fried chicken or at least ask that it not be overcooked such as ours was. I got a wing and a breast, but they were so overcooked that there was nothing but crispy skin on the wing and a lot of crispy batter on rib bones and a little meat which I was able to scrape off the dry bones. The biscuit was doughy rather than fluffy. We were here at 6pm.on Friday. So it wasn't like it was the end of the night with chicken that had been around for a few hours (or was it?).

Fun place for dinner or brunch

By bocadey |

We've been here a few times and always enjoyed our meals. It's standard diner fare, but in a fun atmosphere and with solid service. Nothing is greasy and there are plenty of options, especially for vegetarians. For our most recent visit, we went for dinner with a large party. They had a particularly good beer selection, and the waiter cheerfully accommodated everyone's requests for meals and sides.

Fun place, great food! Best biscuits and gravy!

By Cl2863 |

My husband and I ate here two days in a row while in town for the weekend. The place had a fun atmosphere, especially when the juke box was playing. The staff was friendly and fun, and the food was excellent. If you like biscuits and gravy, you'll love it here. Their fries are excellent as well, battered and crispy. They're even better topped with gravy! We'll definitely come back next time we're in town.

It's like eating in a museum.

By TheFez |

What an eclectic place to eat. Lots of familiar stuff with an amusement park theme (maybe).Old style diner experience, complete with a jukebox selection console at the booth, The food is great. Old style burgers and fries, big flavourful milkshakes, excellent diner style sandwiches - all served by an artsy tattooed waitress with a big, genuine friendly attitude. I love this place. Servings are generous. In an industrial area so the clientele is varied - absolutely no pretension here.

What a wonderful cafe......cant wait for their cookbook

By Frank H |

Occasionally you hit on a real gem by chance and Luna Park was that place in Seattle. Got out early to see the harbour from Hamilton Viewpoint Park and a random dog walker mentioned Luna Park Cafe when we asked where would be nice for breakfast. Although hard to locate even with his detailed directions it was so worth it - great food, great location and such interesting and friendly staff. I had an excellent Breakfast Burrito and herself had a great omlette along with really nice coffee and tea and for me the piece de resistance was their freshly prepared orange juice. The cafe also presented lots of nice photo opportunities and had the friendly, modest ambience all cafes should have but sadly few do. If I lived in Seattle I would be regular......I cannot understand why Frasier never went there but it maybe because Niles wouldnt have liked it whereas Daphne and Martin (RIP) would have loved it.

Definitely worth fighting for a parking spot for!

By Elle23Kaye |

A friend and went to this cafe before heading up to the junction on a weekday morning, and while finding parking was a little frustrating, the breakfast was totally worth it. The inside has a fun atmosphere, and is filled with vintage decorations. Breakfast is served all day, and lunch begins at noon. I really like the selection, and the food service is very fast - we did not have to wait long at all. If you are coming to West Seattle, I definitely recommend starting your day here!

Delicious Breakfast and Coffee: I'm Going Back!

By mmm10 |

Great breakfast options including yummy vegan ones as well. Great coffee and service. I love how egg dishes are served in various ways to choose from. I also loved the option of being able to order a single, delicious pancake on the side! The atmosphere is casual and fun with the vintage theme park decor. I look forward to my next visit!

Best Milkshake EVER

By Karen G |

Food is great, all day breakfast fantastic and THE best milkshake I ever had. The service was very good and portions were huge. Décor is very fun 50's style. A great place to eat any time of day.

Wonderful food atmosphere and staff

My wife and I recently visited west Seattle and ate two separate times here. WOW the food was so wonderful and perfectly prepared. The environment is awesome takes me back to my childhood. Not to mention the old school hand made milkshakes. My hat's off to the owners and staff your pride shows.

Great Breakfast

We usually have breakfast here anytime we decide to eat breakfast away from home. The food is great and the atmosphere and wait staff funky! This is W. Seattle at its finest and we love it. We would recommend to anyone interested in a great breakfast.

Fab diner with old fashion juke box and fun stuff

By Robert K |

This is mainly a breakfast and lunch type of place. Great tasting diner food! Everything I have tried has been great. On my last trip I had the Southwest Burger and it was really great. A lot of people come here for dessert and they have great looking banana splits and shakes. I like their iced tea. I love the little jukebox song selectors on the tables. Ours was free last time. They have a giant guitar, cool old lunch boxes and an antique Batman and Robin ride for kids. Tons of fun and makes you feel like a kid again.

Another kitchy Seattle cafe

By Cheryl C |

Great hollandaise sause on the eggs florentine - but that was about it in terms of standouts for the food. Coffee not good. Cheerful staff - a few too many dogs milling around for my taste however. Very mixed crowd for a Saturday morning which was nice to see. Obviously a popular place - but I found it only so-so. Doubt I would go back.

A fine little cafe

By road-journey |

Go here. You need it...a lot of menu options. Interesting wait staff. and yes, the food ain't bad...

Iconic West Seattle Hangout

By Blondedawg |

An unlikely location under the Spokane Street bridge but it's a great spot. My friend had a perfect burger and I tried the cheesy quesadilla. Great service and a funky very busy spot. Be prepared to wait and I hear the breakfasts are even better. Parking is limited so drive around a bit to find something on the street.

A Perfect Breafast Spot!

By SarahMamaPDX |

Super fun decor complete with old metal lunchboxes, table jukeboxes and more, super fast and friendly service to boot! Give one of their many "breakfast piles" a go and your taste buds will thank you! Homemade pies, cinnamon rolls, and shakes oh my give this place a try.

Good spot for breakfast

By SeeThis_n_That |

Came here for the first time on a Tuesday morning with a couple friends, four of us total ~$75 inc tax & tip. Enjoyed the kitchy, 50's decor, friendly service and large menu of breakfast food options. Food was tasty, portions were robust.

Classic Diner Food

By mwhitespn |

We enjoyed our breakfast/lunch (some of us slept late) at Luna Park Café. The menu (breakfasts and sandwiches) and atmosphere (juke boxes and road signs, you get the picture?) are typical diner-style, and I say that with appreciation, not criticism. Portions are large, service was good, and the food was better than expected. I would be happy to eat here again.

Retro, fun and delicious!

By Maddie S |

This was our first time at Luna Park Cafe. I had the Elvis Waffle, with peanut butter and bananas, which was delicious! The atmosphere of the cafe is so fun and authentic and the service was wonderful. Definitely a must if you want a fun, old school experience with yummy food and shakes. Also great for families and kids. We loved sitting at the bar and playing with the fully functional jukebox. We will be back soon!

Diner style. Bugers and milk shake type of cuisine. Right below the WS Brdige, historic building with glass shop next door.

Splendid as Always!

By ClintonWhidbeyGal |

Cute funky burger place with great breaksfasts (served all day - on Sunday at least) and salads. Old photos of West Seattle on the walls probably 1935 - 1940 circa. Today I had the Greek Salad, fresh, tasty and not over dressed. Took a few french fries from my friends plates - oh la la they were hot, crispy on the outside and tender on this inside. I also saw a fantastic hot fudge shake go by and it looked sooooo good.

Underwhelmed

By MaineIzzy |

20-minute wait on a Sunday, not a big deal. I love diners and was excited to try this iconic spot. It was really just so-so. Food and coffee arrived luke-warm. Server guy was also luke-warm.

5ish evening Sat

By gerard4446 |

Imagine my surprise. Not only were we welcome here as if we belonged but all servers were attentive to all. Joining us were out of town friends and family. Included were 2 under 6 girls. Casual and fun. Food came out quickly and hot. Mashed potatoes were warm till last bite. Meatloaf was excellent. Felt like we could have stayed longer as they were not rushing us out the door to empty the table. Can't wait to go back for the shakes and other good looking sweet things I saw being consumed.

A Great Quirky Cafe

By PineappleShagette |

We went here to visit with family and really enjoyed our breakfast. There's always a bit of a wait as it is super popular and we know why. The food is GREAT. Total comfort food, biscuits gravy eggs pancakes. You definitely will not leave hungry. The staff are AMAZING. So fun and all the retro decorations. This harkens back to it's name sake the Luna Park Amusement park. Would definitely go here again and again.

Surprise for me

By psuzie8 |

Apparently I was the only person who did not know this was a good restaurant!! We had breakfast there around noon and was pleased to see they served breakfast all day. The service was very good and fast even though they were pretty busy. We sat outside which worked well today. My husband had an omelet -Yumm and i had biscuits and gravy - very traditional and they were flexible enough to give me half an order...should have had the whole order since they were very good!!!

Happy Hour at Luna Park on a Wednesday

By grandres |

You wrote a review for Luna Park Cafe One week ago 3.0 star rating 3/31/2017 Happy Hour at Luna Park on a Wednesday Ordered Wings, Nachos, and Chili Cheese Fries with Rotating beer Venue: very good, available parking, easy access from West Seattle freeway Food: was just ok, value was very good, serving size relative to price was good but taste was just ok, not superb Service: was very good, attentive Value is ok, Quality: clean place, seat in front near the windows Price: not too expensive Overall: very good, but no reason to look for, may repeat if I am at the West Seattle area, but there are other places to try as well. Excellent for kids though.

So good

By Sandy N |

This is a casual cafe with a retro vibe and decor. It's not fancy but it's fun. You can even play juke box music. I had a reuben sandwich with fries and my brother had the omlet with hashbrowns and a biscuit plus a banana milk shake. Everything was good. I took some sips of my brother's shake and boy, was I tempted to order one myself. OMG. But, I resisted since my reuben was sized in such a generous portion. The staff could not have been any more accomodating, astute or helpful. A real little neighborhood gem !

Must stop in West Seattle.

By Mike M |

You first notice the quirky decor. Many is left over from the old amusement park. But, the food is what attracts the crowds. Great breakfast menu and very generous servings. Great burgers. Nice selection of brews.

Breakfast all day!

By Trip678 |

I read about the pile of hash-browns and had to eat here! Breakfast served all day and you can put anything over hash-browns. The egg dishes are creative and delicious! The milkshakes were yummy too! The decor is awesome and the history of the place is worth a visit as it was considered the Coney Island of the west back in the day. The servers were really friendly and attentive. We loved it!

Local & Delicious Breakfast

By jlciantar |

The decor was very unique, charming. Food was wonderful and of course, the coffee was excellent.

Yum and fun

By Cyndiellice |

The history of Luna Park is amazing! The amusement park and pool, etc. Read about it online. the restaurant keeps the thrill alive. The atmosphere is fun! The milkshakes area amazing, or so says my 12year old. I'm planning to try one next week. The sandwhhiches are yum, I tried the hamburgers, and fries are worth the effort. Parking is tough, I recommend the street, maybe up a block or so.

Fun! Food! Full!

Great breakfast-all-day place, fun family decor, good quantity of food and great humor and historic location. Don't hesitate!

Breakfast from Heaven

By cdseil |

My wife and I had a great breakfast Thursday morning. This eclectic café is full of fun stuff and great food. We had omelet's, my wife the Veggie and I had the Taco omelet. They were huge and the hash browns were cooked just right. We both had to bring half of the breakfast home. Staff is very friendly and you can tell it's a favorite place for locals of West Seattle. Will be going back soon.

Plenty of Quirky, but food leaves much to be desired

By KansasKathi22 |

We were drawn by good ratings and quirky decor. My husband thought he’d had better waffles at the Hampton Inn free breakfast. My bacon and scrambled eggs were just ok. I’d look elsewhere for breakfast.

Luna Park Cafe

i just love the atmosphere of this place. the decor is funky. the server staff is really cool. the music is fun. and the food is great. i love their burgers and fries - tasty every time. the shakes are as advertised. i eat here several times a year, usually as a reward for a long walk along Alki.

My neck was on a swivel.......such an interesting place.

We were waiting to check into our airbnb and were hungry. Five minutes away we passed Luna Park Cafe. It had a patio and a liquor licence - what more does one need on a Saturday afternoon in summer? We sat outside and had lunch and drinks. Great service and really good food with large portions. The Hummus Platter appie could have fed 3 or 4 people!. Our party also enjoyed a club sandwich and fries, a burger and soup. All were delicious. The next morning we were driving out to the Boeing plant in Everett and decided to stop at Luna Park for breakfast. This time we ate inside. What an amazing spot for antique lovers of kitsch. Signs, lunch boxes, jukeboxes, diner furniture etc. There was something to look at everywhere you turn. And breakfast was great and service was exceptional. Highly recommended. Oh and there is a really cute blown glass studio and store right next door for shopping.....

Great for breakfast, tough parking

By David F |

Luna Park Cafe is on a busy street, just off the overpass. They have limited parking, so you'll need to find street parking during peak brunch times. This place is so accommodating, we had three young children and they did a great job. The breakfast menu is fun in that most of the egg items can be ordered to your preference. You can have your eggs "piled" on top of has browns, as an omelet - with hash browns on the side, or "hobo" style where it is all mixed together.

Great friendly-family restaurant

By ceceim88 |

Luna Park Café, is a friendly-family environment. You can tell a lot of their customers are regulars. The staff is really welcoming and the food is decent. When I do dine there, I usually order the chicken strips and their chili cheese fries. I AM BIG on chicken strips and Luna Park is the best chicken strips I’ve ever had so far…my husband is super big on chili cheese fries and he said it tasted like home made! Their milkshakes are also delectable and a lot of array of flavors you can pick from and also mix it!

Only ordred take out but what a cute place!

By Anita H |

Popped into the Luna Cafe for a quick take-out sandwich while staying in West Seattle. Cute, retro diner with very friendly staff. Too bad we were leaving early the next morning - we definitely would have come back for breakfast!

Retro Done Right!

By twinsmom070 |

I had noticed this little cafe every time we turned the opposite way to go to Alki Beach. So finally, we purposely drove to west Seattle just to try it out, and we were not disappointed. The menu is huge and has tons of options, both for breakfast and lunch. It is typical diner food, but amped up to endless possibilities. And if you go-you have to try the milkshakes! They are to die for! I ordered a peanut butter one and thought I was in heaven. My children tried the mint, oreo, and strawberry, which were all very good also (I had to sample them all). Part of the charm of this place, is the decor and original building. It's like you've stepped back in time, and that is awesome. They are busy, but people cycle through very quickly. I figured out why once we had ordered...they are super fast at fixing and serving the food. Parking can be tricky, but watch for people leaving, or just park a long the road. Can't wait to go back.

West Seattle breakfast

By Michael S - Lincoln, NE |

We stopped here on our way over to downtown seattle via water taxi. I enjoyed the breakfast I had of eggs, sausage, hash browns etc served HOBO style. the coffee was good and Hendrik made sure we had enough and even gave me a coffee to go - which was appreciated. If you are in West Seattle; catch the free water shuttle bus, stop here to eat breakfast and then catch the shuttle again and go to the water taxi stop. good food, great service and very easy to get too for an out of towner.

Limited parking, good omelettes

By Mark H |

My adult daughter and I enjoyed our visit in July! Big portions; took leftovers. We each had an omelette, and I liked the hobo-style omelette! Friendly place but with limited parking.

Breakfast

By James S |

My boyfriend and I dined here for breakfast on a Saturday morning- we arrived around 10 am and we didn’t have to wait. I ordered the breakfast burrito ‘monster style’ and it was delicious- good portion and flavorful! My boyfriend ate the French toast and he really enjoyed it! I recommend if you’re in west seattle!

Satisfied customer for many years!

By Paul M |

Pure retro funk--basic good food fare, great juke-box and oldies-but-goodies music selection. Kids love it (at least ours did)! A fun, wholesome family experience. Milk shakes and pies are great!

Great and popular breakfast spot

By travel-adventure42 |

Fun breakfast spot with great food and friendly staff. Egg dishes are good and fresh, the Luna Park egg dish is very good. The burrito is tasty and the biscuits were fine. The table consensus was enjoyable food all around. Staff was quick with more coffee and helpful.

Milkshake Nirvana

By H2OHDog |

Oooh, Luna Park how we love your milkshakes. Made just how they should be with scoops of ice cream blended in a real milkshake machine, served in a tall glass with whipped cream and a cherry on top. The rest of the milkshake comes in the aluminum container the shake was made in, exactly how a classic shake should be made. Wait staff has always been attentive and friendly. There is a real neighborhood vibe to the place with regulars often sitting up at the counter. Their Greek salad is awesome, and the onion rings are battered as they should be. When I need a milkshake, this is the only place I go to.

Delicious Americana Diner

By tetsuo-san |

If you want to go back in time and enjoy some old fashioned sandwiches, fries and malts, this is the place for you. I've eaten brunch, lunch and dinner here and I've never been disappointed. Mind you, we're not talking frou-frou here but if you will enjoy good eats, you'll like Luna Park Cafe.

Biggest and Best Food

By Sue M |

This is our favorite restaurant to take friends to when they come to visit. It is a 50's type diner with Jukeboxes at every booth. (Don't forget your quarters.) The restaurant is filled with old time music and television memorabilia. The food is exceptional as are the portions. The waiters and waitresses are cheerful and attentive.

Great food and Great Service

By DJSparks45 |

Went here the other day with my wife and 2 of my daughters for breakfast. The food was amazing and so was the service. Food came out quickly and everything was hot. Waitresses continually came by to make sure coffee and waters were full. I got the carnivore omelette, it was packed full of meat, and it was delicious. Would definitely recommend this restaurant!!!

One of our favorites

By gregduff |

Quite often my wife and I will go out to dinner here in Seattle. My wife loves to have breakfast for dinner and I enjoy a good burger. Luna Park Cafe fulfills both of those wants. On a nice 75 degree evening it is nice to sit on the patio of Luna Park and enjoy the breeze. I had a fair burger with mounds of onions and cheese and my wife had a waffle with peanut butter and bacon. The food was excellent. The wait staff is very funky and down to earth. They are knowledgeable of their menu and quick to refill your water and drinks. It was a very pleasurable experience.

A Fun Breakfast

By langrj |

This is a fun place to eat, but the wait to get in could be a bit long. We went on a Sunday and had to wait a while, but we did have 7 in our party. The kids (even the picky ones) easily found something to eat. Portions were plentiful, and prices seemed to be reasonable. Would definitely return if in the area.

We just love this place!

By Novaart |

This has always been a favorite restaurant for our family with multiple generations. There is always lively activity and the menu is so vast that it serves everybody's interest. The burgers and fries are great, as are the breakfast items. Our kids are always interested in the milkshakes which never disappoint!

Eclectic, fun and very good eats

By John L |

I reserve 'excellent" for fine dining but the fact is Luna Park is one of a kind (in a good way) and well worth a visit. All day breakfast choices alone would make Luna a good option but add to this the burgers, sandwiches and shakes and you have ample reasons to go. Plus portions served are very generous. You will not leave Luna hungry. Great service and fifties décor and music make Luna a must.

FUN, QUIRKY, AND YUMMY!

By debandharry |

What a fun little place we found! My husband and I had seen it whenever we went over to West Seattle, so one bright sunny day we decided to stop and check it out. We waited for a car to leave (parking is difficult, but if you go off hours, it's easier) and when we walked in, our eyes were all over the place delighting in all the collectibles and pictures, posters etc. on the walls. Be sure to read the history of this restaurant on the back of the menu. We ordered lunch (as a side note-breakfast is served all day) and we had the "Fair" and "Works" burgers--wow! Cooked perfectly and service was exceptional! Water was constantly refreshed which was nice. The menu is large and their milkshakes are famous! They do have salads and lighter meals and sandwiches in addition to the calories. All-in-all a fun place where you can sit in the window, at a counter, in a booth or at a table while munching on goodies and looking all around.

Quirky little place, good greasy breakfasts

By BrokenAlice |

The atmosphere is fun with all sorts of fun "malt shop" decor, classic diner charm, with a bit of whimsey thrown in. The breakfasts are my favorite but they make a good lunch salad too. Usually very busy on the weekends and not a lot of parking, but it's worth it.

Diner Chic!

By wino m |

Talk about time travel! We went to Luna Park Cafe because it was close to the Airbnb we stayed at. We had no idea that we'd be transported to a classic mid-century diner, complete with jukebox! Plenty of eye candy, old signs, neon, retro Formica tables, the fab lunch boxes hanging from the ceiling. My daughter enjoyed viewing the servers, too. Super fluffy pancakes, buttery biscuits n gravy, all in trucker sized portions. Since it was early, we stuck to coffee.... But noticed the nice selection of tap beer. Cool outside patio for those "nice" Seattle days.

Paid $8.69 for breakfast

By MitchandMichelle |

this is a great little place, friendly, great service, Parking can be a challenge, great omelets. My last visit I ordered pancakes and sausage. Based on my previous visits I expected something special. Pancakes were great, but the sausage was Denny's like. 1/2" in diameter and 4 inches long. In a city with so many great sausage options from Ulie's to grind and make your own, this was a disappointment. I mean really $8.69.00 for two pancakes. Sausage was of no value. Common Luna Park make your pancakes LP pancakes and dump the Dennyesk pancakes.

Disappointed

By Bolstad |

I used to love this place. The food has changed over the years and it is not as good as in the past. Great milkshakes however. I have stopped going here.

Great local spot for diner food

By rsqdvr |

Cool atmosphere in this out of the way location. Food was really good, much better than you would expect of diner food. Really fantastic milkshakes. Service was good, if a little quirky. We would certainly go back.

Excellent Breakfast

Have you ever gone into a Resturant and thought it must be employee owned because ALL of the staff was totally engaged, professional, friendly and on their game? Well that's what you get at Luna Park Cafe. And the food - large portions and delicious - a must do !

Best milkshakes in Seattle!

By CrowvetTraveler |

Always fast, flavorful food and friendly service. Luna Park is always a winner. The food is consistently good, they have veggie options for most meat items and the decor is entertaining to admire while awaiting your meal. The field roast pile is my go to for breakfast, lunch or dinner!

Old Amusement Park Feel

By Ian B |

Fun and friendly cafe that pays hoagie to the amusement park of the same name that once was here! Off beat and off the beaten path.

Nice reliable breakfast

By Doug D |

Luna Park Cafe is a good reliable Breakfast spot. Cinnamon roll is tasty and moist. Biscuits and gravy is good but is short on sausage in the gravy and therefore not as rich - still good. Eggs are light and hashbrowns are shredded and nicely cooked. Coffee is strong and flavorful. Patio is very nice on warm days and the place gets busy by 9:00 on weekends. Have not done lunch but has an extensive menu that will cause us to return to try lunch as well.

Named after a west Seattle amusement park and owned by a long time vintage jukebox dealer its filled with great collectibles of the 50 / 60 with fun food and good service.

Best waffle ever!

By Suzannah S |

This restaurant was recommended for a good breakfast place. My husband and 3 teenagers went and were not disappointed. We got great service and it was a neat, old place that still was decorated like the 1950's. All our food was delicious--omelettes, pancakes, and the best waffle I have ever had! So thick and fluffy. Wish we could have eaten there again before we left to go home from our vacation.

Great 50's burger joint

By Clarence G |

It's a little out of the way, but worth the trip, best kept local secret. The inside is full of period area items from signs, to posters etc., in including and original (I think) juke box that you can select the songs from your booth.

Luna Park is a lot of fun. There are great retro things to look at, the food is plentiful and delicious, and you can sit outdoors, too. Good people-watching. Right next door is a beautiful glass studio you can browse while you wait for your table. For kids, there is a coin-operated kiddie ride. We had breakfast there, and really enjoyed our omelets. The bus to downtown Seattle is right across the street.

Love this Place

Anytime we visit Seattle we make sure to have breakfast here! On St Patrick's morning we hit Luna Park about 10:30 for our breakfast treat. I had the two eggs, hash browns and toast while my daughter had the two pancakes, sausage and eggs. Keep in mind she is 12 and usually doesn't eat a lot. She traded a sausage for a big helping of my hash browns and proceeded to devour all but half of one of the huge pancakes. The best scrambled eggs ever! The place is very cool with lots of memorabilia from the 50's,60's &70,s. If you grew up during those times you will definitely recognize your childhood lunch box etc. Do not miss!

Good hummus, but ask for...

By Quest65809 |

Good hummus, but ask for the pitas grilled. Very good vinaigarette and french fries. Wines pedestrian, but this is three blocks from my house and the service is friendly.

Breakfast with great ambiance.

Great Breakfast and excellant service. Great place to eat and check out all the cool stuff on the walls and hanging from the ceilings. Four of us had breakfast and all were satisfied. Large tasty portions.

Great Breakfast!!

By BHealthy2travel |

Food is great, large portions. Decor is charming. Lots of old school stuff i.e. juke box etc. plus some items from the former amusement park

Perfect find!

We were visiting friends nearby, they highly recommended Luna Park Cafe. Breakfast was delicious, the location was convenient and the staff was very friendly!

FUN!

By Nightbeacons |

Luna Park was a Seattle amusement park from long ago. And this fun cafe re-creates the carefree fun that this park must have had. You can spend an hour or more looking at the memorabilia on the walls. And the antique juke boxes work (so bring nickels). The burgers were large and yummy. And the milkshakes were creamy, smooth, and almost sticky-caramel-like in consistency. (For me, this is a Good Thing!) The fun atmosphere and the yummy "diner-style" food made it a place that we will be returning to. And for those out-of-town friends who've grown bored with the Space Needle and Pike Place market -- well, we'll be bringing them HERE next time they're in town!

Not the best milkshakes in Seattle.

By spinnaker802 |

We went here based on TripAdvisor rave reviews. If you like SWEET, SWEET, SWEET, THICK milkshakes, this is the place to go. But, we got 4 different flavors and they all tended to blend together because everything was so sweet. The shakes are thick because they don't dilute with milk. If you want shakes where you taste each individual flavor, go to Red Mill Totem House in Ballard. We vote Red Mill Totem House Best Shakes EVER. Last note, I watched them make the shakes, and the mixer blade was not rinsed off between shakes. This was after telling the staff one of my sons had a tree nut allergy. (We had already decided to get him his dessert somewhere else.)

I never visited this location

By Arlene R |

I accidentally reviewed this location. I wanted to review the location in Brooklyn, NY with the same name which has since closed and is under new management with a new name. Instead, my review went to this location in Seattle, where I've never visited. I want to apologize to the owners at this location. If I ever visit Seattle, I will make an effort to visit your location. Looks like you have great food. The waffles look yummy! Even though I've never visited Seattle, I have to put a date in when I visited. Again, my apologies to the owners of this location.

Great food, retro environment.

Been here several times for breakfast. We usually have to wait, but typically no more than 10-15 minutes since we arrive at prime breakfast time on the weekends. Every dish we've tried has been good. They serve several different options in egg dishes, most of which can be served in a scrambled, omelet, or "piled" version. Love the llama pile! Great coffee, which should be a no brainier in Seattle, right? ;)

Back in time

We were on vacation in Seattle with our family and decided we would stop in for a brunch. There were 7 of us. We were seated straight away by friendly staff. It's like going back in time to a old diner. The food was really good and wholesome and even good vegetarian/ vegan options for my daughter. A fun and funky menu. Fun was had by all with good food, mimosas a huge shake and we all enjoyed the juke box a really fun place to eat.

Greasy spoon diner with loads of old amusement park kitsch

By Jennifer R |

We had a solid breakfast here - the usual basics are all on offer: omelets, scrambles, pancakes. The portions were very generous, making it a great value for big eaters and hungry families. I appreciated that they had a bunch of egg dishes and you can choose to have them as an omelet, scramble or "hobo" - eggs and fixin's over potatoes. I also appreciated that the kid's menu had just 1 plain pancake since my kid isn't going to eat more than that anyway! Would recommend for hungry mornings when you're craving a classic diner experience in West Seattle.

Delicious food, quirky atmosphere!

By Judy |

Such a great find! We went for breakfast on a Saturday morning and they were busy, but we found a spot at the counter. The space is filled with vintage amusement park decor and you can read all about it on the front of the menu. Service was timely, food was great, portions were satisfying, vibe was fun! Can't wait to come back!

Delicious American breakfast

By Pilar G |

Decoration is great and while waiting for you food, which actually is really fast, you can look around at old toys, posters, comics and go back in time. Food is great: eggs with anything and I must say french toast is one of the best.

Good Food

By Japruzze |

Nothing fancy, but if it's good (and it was) who cares. Nostalgic themed decor. Great service. Large sandwiches, good fries and onion rings, and great shakes. Reasonable prices.

Fun dining experience, excellent menu & service :))

By G C |

If you're in or near West Seattle, the Luna Park Cafe is worth a visit... this place is decorated ala 50s diner-style, complete with mini jukeboxes next to the booths & a long counter with stools -- and the menu offers both classic dishes (burgers & fries, pancakes/waffles/eggs, plus yummy milkshakes), as well as ones suited for "modern" tastes (including vegetarian & vegan). Great combinations of fresh ingredients that are really tasty is what you'll find at this very popular eatery, all served by a friendly, polite staff... enjoy! We'll be back :))

Can't go wrong here!

By 96Juanita |

I have been here on more than one occasion for breakfast. The wait staff are fun, friendly and prompt. The ambience is typical diner but with great decor to fiest your eyes on. If you like malts this is the place to come too -- I have never had one but my guest always talks about them. My only complaint is they serve hash browns and not home fires but that is a West coast thing, hash browns seem to be the potato of choice for breakfast . The breakfast menu has a nice variety to choose from. Oh, there's outdoor seating too for those sunny days here in Seattle, There isn't much of a view but a nice little patio to watch the traffic go by.

Good for breakfast- diner style food. Fun to sit outside in the summer

10/10 - Awesome!

By paintgirlchgo |

What a hidden gem in West Seattle just below the West Seattle bridge. Tons of nostalgic decor, great tunes, super awesome service and breakfast (coffee, eggs perfectly over easy, sourdough toast, American potatoes and bacon). Best job EVER of delivering on my CRISPY bacon request. And the price is right. I highly recommend this place - and will absolutely dine here again on my next visit!

Great quick breakfast

Love this little unique cafe in West Seattle. Good lattes, coffee and breakfast. Only downside is the parking. And arriving early especially on the weekends is a must.

The Luna Park Cafe has a history. Out is decorated inside with the remnants of the old boardwalk park that used to sit at Alki beach. The atmosphere is light and fun. They have a soda counter and serve wonderful milkshakes. 50's diner style and fascinating artifacts makes your time spent here worth the stop. Most of the food is pretty good too. Traditional American fare from breakfast to dinner. Stay away from the nachos unless you like a giant glob of melted cheddar over stale tortilla chips. Overall a fun place with great staff. Parking sucks and no air conditioning on hot days is rough but this place is one of the quirky little places that makes Seattle so unique. Home of the world's largest working Fender Stratocaster and lunch box collection that will take you back to elementary no matter your age. Luna Park Cafe is an experience destination. Put it on your bucket list to visit at least once when you're I town.

Consistently Good.....

By Todd A |

Luna Cafe is a great local place to eat with lots of character. The wait staff is always helpful and there are new daily specials to mix things up. Regular menu is standard cafe fare but done well and with good cheer. This is where you will find locals eating.

Retro!

By Susan M |

Ate two meals here during our stay in Seattle. Both were very good. More than the food, though. Is the funky atmosphere. the Fonz lives again! The milkshakes were classic! I was concerned because the description of the place said on street parking but there were plenty of parking spaces. Try it for breakfast or lunch: you won't be disappointed!

Great atmosphere, yummy food

By Tonja C |

This place is full of kitschy decorations, the food is really good and the servers are friendly and fun. Definitely would recommend.

Great West Seattle Brunch Spot

By C W |

Delicious food and reasonable priced mimosas! We enjoyed our breakfast and the atmosphere of the restaurant. During warmer months you can sit outside which is a nice option. The decor is retro-diner themed with a touch of carnival, which makes it stand out from many other cafes. Overall, great brunch spot!

Weekend Breakfast

By Tibbitscs |

Coffee that never stops, great customer service, solid breakfast food. I go with sides of egg and bacon with a strawberry covered waffle. Mmmmmm. The restaurant is very kitschy with old lunch boxes, jukebox and memorabilia hanging on the walls. You will find predominately locals eating here as it's tucked close to the West Seattle Bridge.

Great for Breakfast

By Ivan C |

I can not comment on any other meal than Breakfast. I am a Breakfast person, so if you want a Breakfast that is delicious and filling then come here and have one of their many "Hobos." The service was Good and if the weather is nice you can eat "Al Fresco"

fun restaurant for breakfast or lunch

By laughinghusky |

Went there with a group of people....think there was 10 of us....very accommodating..good food, fun atmosphere.....have old time juke boxes in the booths...50's and 60's decorations...great with kids. food was not unusual but it was well prepared. I had a roast beef dip...and they used good bread and the au juice wasn't salty..They had wonderful sundaes and sodas.....good waffle dishes, and the bacon they have is wonderful.

Rakish, hip and cool, not to mention the great food

By Wix S |

My wife and i visited my son in Seattle and he took us here. The place is cool and eclectic with great decor and an amazing selection of egg dishes. So they have piles and hobos. A pile is made by layering eggs and omelette fillings on top of hash brown potatoes. A hobo is made by mixing the above ingredients together. Way cool. The waitresses are hip, tattooed and efficient--and the food is terrific. Wix Simon @WixSimon -author of A LOST GUN

A great brunch place

By syncomm1 |

Loaded with character, hip tattooed waitresses and lots of great diner food in a retro atmosphere, right over the West= Seattle Bridge. My favorite neighborhood place.

Authentic diner with great food

By ChasAndre |

I went with my family and we had a great brunch. I had the eggs Florentine with bacon, and it was done perfectly. Clam chowder, burgers and fish and chips were enjoyed by others, and everyone was happy with the food. Interesting decor with authentic diner feel. Parking can be tough, as the parking lot is tiny and difficult to navigate, but overall, this is a great spot.

Don't forget to leave with a shake

By tor33rpm |

Large portions of food nicely plated and made fresh and surprisingly served up fast. I will try to make it part of my weekend routine. Lose yourself in the decor, and before you know it, a delicious meal is served. If you are solo, ask to sit at the bar and watch the constant churning out of milkshakes. By doing so, it builds the momentum of delight when one departs with one of many flavors. Chocolate. Ding!

Hearty Breakfast Nostalgic Atmosphere

By METMEP |

My daughter and I had a great breakfast at this cafe full of memoriobilia from the former Luna Park Amusement Park in Seattle. Service was good and food came out fast. Nice find in West Seattle.

Fun Funky location with yummy food

By TravelT |

Fun atmosphere with great food! Group of 5, Friday 10:30, sunny day in Seattle, patio hard to get. No worries, since interior is full of fun decor. Service was pleasant and prompt. Four of us had a different “pile” and one a sandwich. All the meals were really tasty!

Comfortable and Convenient Breakfast in West Seattle

By Soggiorno |

I asked at my hotel for recommendations, and the staff all said "Go to the Luna Park Cafe," so I did. I have to say that it was a good recommendation. The food was plentiful and reasonably priced. There was a long waiting list for seating (Saturday morning) so I sat at the counter and it was fine. The service was good and fast. It's a sort of hipster hangout, but I felt comfortable despite ordering meat and having no tattoos, LOL! Parking is extremely limited. The coffee was especially good, which is most of breakfast to me. I liked it a lot and will certainly go back the next time I'm in Seattle.

Great Breakfast!

By LCo24 |

I came here with my husband for breakfast and we both left full and happy. The French Toast is really good and so is the ham and egg scramble. My favorite thing about this place is the atmosphere. Definitely a great place to visit.

Quant Breakfast location with excellent food & service

By Veinleisure |

This venue has history to match its eclectic atmosphere. Classic diner feel and service that was absolutely superior. We visited for breakfast and the portions were large and simply hit the spot for each member of our party. We’ll be back and would recommend this to anyone looking to visit Alki beach and West Seattle.

The service was terrible...

By Jason R |

The service was terrible and I was only one of about five people in the whole place...on a Saturday morning. I had heard great things about this one...but I was definitely disappointed and will not be returning.

Get there early and park on the street.

By pepper i |

We went for breakfast on Saturday, at great risk because the place is usually packed. We were lucky and got a seat right away. The menu is broad and varied, should handle all tastes. I had the Eggs Benedict. I was dismayed that the protein from regular ham, and not Canadian Bacon. Too bad. My other problem, which I'm afraid is a sign of the times, were several of the waiters and waitresses, had piercings visible. It is incomprehensible to me why people do that to themselves, but it is there right, however I don't appreciate servers wearing them. So it is unlikely that I will be returning, there are too many places that don't allow these examples of self-mutilation for me to frequent one that does.

Fun ambiance, great breakfasts

Stopped mid-week for breakfast. I had eggs benedict and wife and daughter had the special. Excellent service, good food. I would recommend!

Food was Great but Disappointed with Price

By SeattleTef |

I took a friend to lunch this week to Luna Park Café in West Seattle and I have been here many times. In the past we’ve enjoyed the food and atmosphere, the service was not great but it was ok, the food and atmosphere made up for the service. Though on this trip the service was much better and they where very responsive. Luna Park Café has outdoor dining which is very nice on the gorgeous days in Seattle. The only item that I have an issue is with our bill. It was crazy expensive for 2 people with a simple lunch. I like the place enough that we'll go back.

Best breakfast I've ever had

By LE |

Was over in Seattle as a tourist from Wales. Went here on the recommendation of local friends, an absolute gem of a decision. The staff were great. The menu is extensive and customizable and the quality of the food is impeccable. Very very reasonably priced too. Can't recommend enough, would fly over to Seattle again just to go here.

Fun, Great place for family

By Nikki |

We live in Seattle and this place has become an occasional regular. The first time we went (back in August 2011), we'd been in West Seattle and I was craving fried food. (This place is FUN and tastes good, but not the healthiest!) A friend had suggested we try Luna Park, which we'd passed by a million times but it never occurred to me to stop in. I often get the Southwestern Pile and a side of onion rings. The onion rings are ok - not bad, but not spectacular, but everything else is so good I really didn't care. Their fresh, housemade salsa is INCREDIBLE, I could eat bowls of that, alone. My husband often gets a patty melt and a Manny's Brew beer - I'm not much of a beer drinker, but Manny's is pretty good. My son often gets the chicken tenders (good tenders, not too dry and plenty of flavor) or a hamburger. The atmosphere is fun, the service is good, and all the staff that we encounter is really nice (even after they get super busy.) As I said, we've since continued to go back to this place every now and again over the past few years. The food and service is always consistent.

Not as good as previously...

By Hsteinmiller |

We have eaten here several times over the last few years and it's been uniformly good. Today's breakfast was a major exception, unfortunately. My breakfast special arrived cold - the bacon actually felt like it had just come out of the fridge. The waffle and fried egg were rubbery. My daughter's poached egg on her Benedict was nearer hard boiled. I hate to be *that* patron, but I sent everything back and of course I was the last one to finish. (The hash browns, however, were excellent - extra-crispy just like I'd requested.) I saw only two servers in the entire place and both were frantically trying to keep up with everything. Our server apologized but didn't offer any kind of comp. Maybe they were just having a rough day - hopefully they will get everything back on track in the near future.

Nice local neighborhood breakfast spot but parents please be respectful of your badly behaving children

By chicago90Phoenix |

Nice menu and great atmosphere inside. I like the vibe of the place very much. However, what put a damper on my breakfast experience are parents who bring their badly behaved children without being respectful of others in the restaurant.
