Where's the juice?

By C_and_MH |

We visited this restaurant because it was written up as a great option for Sunday brunch. And the food was good. We had the egg pizza and truffle bread, but we also wanted fresh OJ. none to be found. No fresh blended juice at all. Bit odd for a brunch place.

Amazing atmospherse

MC Kitchen is classy, great service and the food is spectacular. The brunch menu is spectacular. Love this restaurant! It's a must-do if you are visiting Miami.

Nice evening out

By circusgurl |

I absolutely love this restaurant, I came with three friends and we all really enjoyed our meals. Their risotto with lobster tail was superb, so was the pork chop and you absolutely must try the Bunny Wigglesworth, if you like Mezcal.

Excellent fish in a modern yet warm setting

Open even late for lunch, it offers an inside and outside dining option . The menu is diverse with traditional options yet with a modern twist. Super fresh. Tasty. Fish is delicious. Very healthy cooking.

My Wife Barbara and I have dined there many times. What attracted us New Year’s Eve, was they were offering their normal good menue rather than the more limited pricier typical New Year’s menue. We shared their excellent Branzino and had an excellent pasta dish. They comped me a glass of wine and a scotch. A lovely dining atmosphere with fab designed bar area as well. Valet parking only $5 which they comped me on also

Consistently great food

Very Cool Restaurant in Design District

By Joseph S |

y daughter goes here often and we went on her advice. Got there a little early for start of dinner service. Valet was very cordial and told us that we can eat at the bar early. The place is very industrial looking and is surrounded by high end furniture stores. The bar is quite large and can hold maybe 20 people with lots of width. We had some wine and they gave us a bar menu. My wife had a sausage pizza and I had the burger which came with onion rings. They were both excellent. They also have a different craft beer each month on tap .We met the owner/chef Deana Marino, and she was very friendly. Very well known in Miami. Had a great experience in a very cool place and would go back to try other items on the menu.

Love this place!

One of my favorites. Outstanding beer selection. Service and food exceptional. Great ambience. Menu varies with interesting and creative selections prepared to perfection. A true dining experience.

This is a very elegant restaurant with great service and the ability to accomodate the need of its customers. It was a special place to celebrate V.D.

Best restaurant in design district

By DandDeeNYC |

MC Kitchen ALWAYS delivers. With so many restaurants really struggling to hold things together, we were even more impressed than usual with the quality of the food and service on our recent visit. The management of this place has a true teamwork culture in place - everyone working there wants you to be happy and to leave happy. It is so evident from every interaction. The food is fabulous. Salads are fresh and healthy. Pastas are incredible. The truffle fries are to die for. And the margaritas are special. You cannot go wrong with a meal at MC Kitchen. A class act all around with super talented staff in every single role. I’d eat here every day if I could!

MC Kitchen - very good modern Italian food

By byMT305 |

MC Kitchen, for many years, has been one of the shining stars of Miami's Design District restaurants -- it's modern stylish interior offers very comfortable seating, the service is good, and the modern Italian menu offers tasty choices. We've been numerous times, and on this evening tried: The Ditch cocktail - a scotch, ginger, lemon drink - very tasty! house Margarita - very good Baby gem salad - mediocre (overpowered by mixed greens; bibb letter would be better) grilled branzino - a fresh, tasty fish Risotto of the day - crabmeat & asparagus - excellent!! "New" tiramisu - a strange brownie cake drenched in sweet creamy sauce - I would NOT order this dessert again Overall, MC Kitchen is a very good dinner choice for fresh, modern Italian food. We'll for sure return (but have some concern that some of this restaurants' previously VERY high quality is somewhat diminished??)

Excellent food, awfull service

By Edgar B |

We order the salmon and fresh red snapper of the day and was very good. The skin of the salmon was crunchy and very nicely done, I really enjoyed it. For this type of restaurant you expect the service as good as the food, unfortunately this wasn't the case. The service was the worst I had experienced in a long time. The waiter was aggressive and in a bad mood, I tried to make changes in the food and all I received was arguments and bad faces all the lunch time. This restaurant doesn't care about anything they just want to make money and f.... everyone else.

Great Pastas and Pizzas

By quiwitips |

Love going to this restaurant at the Design District they have delicious authentic Italian pastas. The raviolis and pizzas are great! and its perfect to go with friends, family or just with your couple on date night.

Great ambience and service, food is good, but keep an eye out when you come here!!! We were charged 4 drinks that we never had!!!! We were very disappointed!

Terrific Food

By Traveling Angeleno |

MC Kitchen is a stylish restaurant with excellent food and service. I had the yellowfin tuna crudo, pork chop and triple chocolate mousse. Each was extremely delicious with unique flavors. The pork chop was cooked to perfection and extremely moist. The triple chocolate mousse was a table favorite beating out the modern tiramisu (which a tiramisu lover had ordered). The restaurant's located in a section of the city that's not ultra busy, so getting in and out was very easy.

Good but expensive

By Jennifer A |

Coming from Montreal, such a foodie city, MC Kitchen was good but nothing fantastic. It was really too pricey for what it was but it was the 31st of decembre and i made a last minute reservation so it suited our needs. For Miami i guess it is a very good restaurant. Nice wine list with wined from Oregon and California and France and Italie for the more traditionnal pick. Service was good and appropriate.

Great night out in Miami

By Will F |

We booked this restaurant while on holiday in Miami. Booking was easy using opentable and there was a wide range of seating times available. Our waiter, Raoul, was very helpful. He recommended some great wine (which was useful as the wine list was extensive) and the food he recommended was very tasty. All the food came very quickly. The atmosphere was great too. Nice buzz to the place but not too loud that we had to raise our voices to talk to each other.

Brunch or dinner. Equally as amazing.

By Jram305 |

Fellas, we have all been here before. You go out for a day with your other and she gets hungry. You're in an area you kinda know but aren't too familiar with. You tap on your favorite app to save you with some pointers on where to go whiles she's not looking and boom. There's a spot that stands out. MC kitchen was just that place for me. Had no idea what to expect but took a leap and was I ever glad. First off the bar out side the main dining area is stocked with Dogfish head IPA. It the largest selection out side of the actual brewery. The specialty drinks are all winners. I went with the Bloody Toro cause it was a nice twist on a Bloody Mary. We had the best truffle fries known to man, an eggs Benny that kicked mountains of butt and an omelet so perfect I was debating wether to eat it or just keep taking pics of it like it belonged in a playboy spread. We were so impressed that we went back 6 days later to try dinner and that blew me away as well. I had a pork chop that was made with obvious love and my wife downed a pasta dish that took me back to Rome ( not as great but it did the job) can you tell I loved this place? I'm sure you will also. Give it a try when you're down looking at all the street art on the way wood walls.

Heavenly osso bucco

By jimvdberg |

A real treat for our last evening in Florida. Somewhat pretentious, but everything was first class fine dining. We tried different things, with the top of it all a sensational Osso Bucco. Pricey but highly recommended.

The best french fries of my life!

By Requinha |

I had lunch at the restaurant and they serve the best french fries I've ever had: super crispy and topped with parmesan cheese and white truffles. Totally worth the calories!

Something Different

By Mohammed A |

We had out lunch at this restaurant at the last day of this year and it was in a good location and the interior design was great but the rest was quite busy at that time. The menu has very few items to order from and the service was super slow. The taste of the margarita pizza and the wild broccoli pizza was good and and different.

I felt Like I could't leave anything on the plate!

By Flavia G |

Cozy and contemporary ambience and very good service accompany of the most delicious dishes we ever ate. My pasta with rabit had the perfect cooking time and a juicy rabbit meat. My husband was also delighted with his sea food pasta! No words to express the three dark chocolate mousse. Simply irresistible!

👹

By Igor R |

Did not enjoy our lunch at this restaurant at all. We booked a table for a certain time however we were still waiting for half an hour for our table. Food was not amazing, nothing special and took a long time to come with coffee taking almost 20 minutes. Would not recommend it.

Some good some just okay

By Chris H |

We went to this restaurant with great expectations, but the food was "hit or miss" on the night we were dining. The Fiocchi made with pears was wonderful. However, my wife's wine (by the glass) was off, meaning it tasted like it had been sitting in an open bottle for awhile. Other entrees in our party were just okay. The service we received was fine and the ambiance of the restaurant was delightful.

One OF the Best italian in Miami

By J F |

Localed in the miami Design district in a local that previously had another italian restaurant ,this restaurant was a very pleasant surprise on my first visit We started the dinner with a cocktail,an aperol fritz,a perfect drink for the hot weather of Miami. Chef Dena Marino has a menu based on modern italian cuisine. This is not molecular cuisine, this is well made italian with fresh perfect ingredients. I had a cows milk burrata, perfect fresh burrata with polenta croutons and vegetables including sweet corn, baby carrots, baby basil etc. A burrata dish I am going to order again...perfect. The pasta..mamma Mia,a Buccatini pasta a la carbonara parmigiano, with truffles a egg over it just right and guanciale finely chopped. A perfect al dente pasta, with a creamy sauce. For dessert a vanilla crime brulle with blood orange Service was prompt and courteous. This is one of the best Italians I have dinned in. Don't miss it.

Good service great food

Great spot to relaxing and enjoy good food in the Miami design district. Rather unpretentious considering where we were! Good professional service. See you again soon.

very ecclectic restaurant

had lunch here and its about a mile from wynnwood walls good choices for vegatrians. Good food for a decent price. on street parking is difficult but valet parking stand just outside the restaurant. Interesting stores and shops nearby.

A Lovely Respite

By Holly K |

After wandering the Miami Design District for several hours, Handsome Companion and I were out of steam. MC Kitchen to the rescue. The restaurant has a cool vibe, is filled with “fashion people”, and is most welcoming. We had two salads, a Caesar Cardini for me, with marinated grilled chicken, tender and tasty, and an Applewood Smoked Chicken Salad for H.C. We enjoyed sitting and relaxing over such delicious food. The lovely respite refreshed us enough to spend another hour enjoying the Design District.

Cocktails Only

By Phyllis K |

Found this cute place while walking around the Design District and were pleasantly surprised by the decor and service. While we only had drinks and snacks, we plan on returning to enjoy dinner there as we looked over the menu but unfortunately had other plans for dinner. Looking forward to returning.

Fancy and fresh!

Lunch for two - taking a break from shopping and decorating! We enjoyed a lovely lunch of Proseco, salad and pasta; the food was delicious and the service was great - highly recommend!

MC Kitchen - Modern Italian at its' best !!

By byMT305 |

For several years, MC Kitchen has been consistently serving outstanding cuisine. Chef Dena Marino's restaurant is a Miami Design District shining star, and is definitely "up there" with Miami/Miami Beaches' top restaurants. This is no "red sauce" joint, but rather refined modern Italian cuisine. The interior is very comfortable modern seating, and the service always highly professional. The (full) bar service is great, serving any/all classic cocktails, along with MC Kitchen specials (whiskey lovers will enjoy their Jenny Jerome). On a recent weekend, we enjoyed the following: Complimentary warm slice of thick-cut bread - real, delicious bread! Bibb salad w/ cranberries, bleu cheese, and maple vinaigrette - fresh, delicious, and definitely a big enough portion for 2 persons Pizzetta w/ fresh fig & prosciutto - delicious appetizer for our party of 5 ... Yum !! Pear & Cheese Fiocchi - a sweet, creamy stuffed pasta envelope -- very rich & delicious and made a great appetizer (2-3 pastas per person ... just the right amount) Pan-seared branzino (fish-of-the-night) - spot-on perfect & delicious; sides of baby green beans and homemade mashed potatoes both excellent Lamb chops - 2 thick-cut chops on-the-bone w/ tomato quiche side -- fantastic flavors daily Risotto entree - I've enjoyed MC Kitchen's perfectly cooked mascarpone risottos many times -- the nightly specials are typically seafood paired (I've enjoyed both seared branzino, and seared scallops on other occasions) -- tonight's was a crab meat and lobster combination ... I love MC Kitchen's risotto !! Desserts - we (greatly!) enjoyed a trio of home made gelatos (rich chocolate, hazel nut, and caramel) of which MC Kitchen will often have 8-10 choices on any given night. We also indulged with their "modern" (deconstructed) tiramisu which is excellent. MC Kitchen serves absolutely delicious cuisine from start to finish of every meal. They have earned their place among the top echelon of Miami/Miami Beach dinning!

Great find

By MirkoGos |

A great find near our place of business that day. Great service, great food. Had a quick late lunch of which one colleague had the halibut and the others the amazing Cesar salad. A little pricey but overall great! Will definitely come back to try other dishes.

Still going strong

Service is impeccable! I had the pasta with seafood and it was superb. The food is fresh, delicious and varied. Great wine list. BTW - thanks for returning my umbrella!

Good choice to have a conversation with friends

By Jonathan L |

Always solid, predictable food; quiet venue; and close to everything in the Design District. A few fun "outdoors" tables if it is not to hot or buggy

The worst dining experience in Miami

By Connect10dots |

MC Kitchen was excellent when it first opened last year but when we visited recently both the service and food were way below Miami standard. The evening started off oddly when we noticed there were no cocktails on the menu. The server advised they were "revamping" their menu so they weren't offering cocktails at all which seemed unusual. The octopus risotto we ordered was way too vinegary and dry. After speaking to the server, he brought out the chef (not Dena Marino though) who was defensive and stated his risotto was fresh and that nothing was wrong with the taste. With a chef with a bad attitude and inexperienced front of house management this restaurant won't last much longer.

Design district favorite

By 141Dini |

Had a very nice dinner here with friends. The salads with goat cheese and kale were excellent and the beef carpaccio was wonderful. My friends had the chicken which they love and I had a delicious whole branzino. Desert was okay . Service was excellent and a nice ambiance to the place.

If you are shopping in the Design District

If you are shopping in the Design District and need a good place to take a lunch or a brunch, you have to visit MC Kitchen. Very good service, delicious food and reasonable prices.

Good for lunch

By AFoodieDMV |

This restaurant was fine. We were supposed to go to another restaurant down the street for lunch but the wait was too long so we opted to dine here. Not crowded, no wait. Service was fine. Caesar salad with chicken was fresh. All fine for lunch…not sure it made an impression on me to come back, but nothing bad to say.

Very, Very Good

By DaisyRL |

We went on Sunday for lunch. It was not crowded, very nice environment. The menu didn't have many choices, but each one of them was very special . The Cesar Salad was one of the best I ever had and I also had "Cavatelli Bolognese" (pasta) which I strongly recommend I asked to see the dinner menu There are more options of special dishes. Next time I will go for Dinner .

Excelent food, service could be better

By Felipek |

What a nice restaurant! Cozy and sophisticated atmosphere. Amazing and tasty dishes. Worth the price charged. Try the pork, fantastic! The only negative point was the service, but I think I got no lucky in the attendant, because the other waiter seemed to be more friendly and attentive. Unfortunately I can not remember the name of the lousy waitress.

Pretentious

By MIAMILOVETRAVEL |

Saturday lunch at MC Kitchen was a disappointment...the service can only be described as "odd". The bloody mary was undrinkable. No fresh juice on the menu for brunch? The server brought individual rolls to the table, placed one on the bread plate...when I thanked her, she said "Not a problem'. Odd, right? She poured olive oil into a dish; it was tasteless. We ordered the omelet with smoked salmon, chives, capers;..the salmon was sliced and difficult to eat, the egg runny. The smoked chicken salad had raw chicken...ick. We shared a dessert; gelato with biscotti. The chocolate biscotti tasted like cardboard. The waiter hovered, interrupted us and everything he tried to push was "delictious". Maybe we ordered wrong?

Turn down por que?

By Sergio F |

Sooooo good. Sooooo sweet. The Carbonara entree is a GRAND SLAM!! I would go as far to say that I believe it is in fact the true Original Grand Slam! Off with Denny's head! Obviously, we are in a different ballpark here. Fine Design District dining for the well recommended tourist, local foodie, oppulent lover, and unassuming hipster. I can only comment on the Scallops, Carbonara, Shrimp Panciotti, & Burrata. ALL AMAZING. Definitely ask for Wine Pairings. The selection is pristine

Where is the Dena.

By skyisblue11 |

Paul Bocuse said" The food would taste much better in restaurants if the chef were tasting there own food", Dena is no longer much in the Kitchen and the dishes lack consistancy, The frisee salad had too much vinegar, the mussels too much salt, the risotto overcooked, the bread is no longer the same but a cheaper version. Dena come back in your kitchen, we love your restaurant but the quality is not the same.

very nice experience

By andyk98 |

this was our first time at MC kitchen and we will be back. the décor is very nice situated in the design district. we started with Caesar salad (very good and a large portion), octopus which was nicely prepared and served and garganelli Bolognese which was delicious. for mane course we had the pork chop which was excellent, and snapper which was very good. the service was attentive without being in your face. we highly recommend this restaurant.

sad experience

By Priscilla L |

I had the saddest experience ever. First I want to state that my husband is a business owner in design district so Im a regular at MC Kitchen and on this day alone, I had already spent over $50 on lunch before returning for a dinner drink to be treated like garbage. I placed my order with one of my favorite bartenders (only reason I'm ever there considering the food is not exactly good) and went to the restroom with my 6 pound Pomeranian (also a regular). As im closing my stall door I hear a woman YELLING " You cant bring a dog into a restaurant and you're not even a customer!" I chose to ignore her, assuming she was a drunk angry customer who clearly hated dogs. She kept yelling some nonsense I can't even remember and all I replied was "I'm peeing!" When I left the bathroom she was waiting for me with her arms crossed, leaning on a counter and I politely let her know that its NOT okay to follow a woman into a bathroom to harass her, then walked away. Shocked as all hell, I returned to the bar to pay and leave and let Sean know some crazy lady had followed me into the restroom to yell at me about my service dog, I pointed at her and he revealed she was the OWNER so I did not say another word, fearing I would be putting him in an uncomfortable situation with his boss. It was clear I was talking about her so before I left she came over to explain herself but did not even have the decency to apologize for her unprofessional and erratic behavior. Still, I smiled and nodded seeming as if I was not completely offended by her obscene and racist conduct and was actually left with a lot to say on the matter. It is never okay to follow a woman into a bathroom for any reason at all and as a restaurant owner, this woman should have known better, and as a person who has worked in the same industry for over 10 years, even I know better! Any sane person would have known to ask before assuming anything about the dogs rights or my own, and any effective business owner would have sent a manager to MANAGE the "situation." It saddens me to say this but I know this white older woman made a false assumption about me based on my very obvious Hispanic appearance. In light of everything going on in the world today I believe it is important she be reminded to treat everyone with kindness and respect. I am not a person who has ever felt victimized due to my race therefore I am deeply motivated to share my experience and hope that this racist restaurant owner will never do this again. I was left full of rage, sadness, and disappointment that I can not return to what was once my favorite spot in design district due to intolerence.

FINALLY A TASTE OF BEAUTIFUL FOOD!!

By CarolynandBurton |

My husband and I have visited this restaurant twice and twice we were happy with the food, ambience and service. I always try to visit more than once before writing a review. The first visit was for lunch but we ordered off the dinner menu. Chef Dena cooked for us! It was magnificent! This time we went for Brunch which is a combination of the breakfast and lunch menu. No buffet. I ordered scallops on a bed of warm greens with a sauce to die for. My husband had the oat pancakes with warmed fruit sauce. This is not a kid pancake. So delicious. The coffee is so good, there is no need for sugar. Chef Dina will be pleased that the food was so good even though she wasn't in the house. I don't even want to talk about the desserts. Very dangerous but heavenly. The restaurant is light and airy. It has a private dinning room and a small outside area. It is a 'must visit' destination restaurant. If you're lucky you will get Alexander as your server. MC KITCHEN is in the Design District which is undergoing a major transformation. Once it's complete, traffic will be tough. This is the time to go.

Fine food in a relaxed environment

By Monique V |

There's nothing better than doing a little shopping in the Design District and ending at MC Kitchen. Fabulous - always.

Outstanding, one of the best in Miami and I would say in the entire USA.

By Igor S |

If you like authentic sophisticated Italian food, this is the place. Love it. Wine list is very good.

Huge mistake

By valeriamendonca |

After waiting more than half an hour for our table, even though we had a reservation, the service was bad and one of our dishes, the rabbit pasta, was too salty and undercooked! And our check came with additional charges... never going back!

Very good food in attractive venue

By Joseph C |

This is an attractive, white table cloth establishment in the Design District. We opted to dine at the bar which is outside the main dining area. The service was wonderful and our salads and drinks were very good. The grilled shrimp extra on my salad was particularly tasty and grilled to perfection. Prices tend to be high. Unlike many Miami properties gratuities are not added to the bill except for parties of 5 or more.

Never been before but pleasantly surprised

By Michael S |

Our long time Miami resident made the reservation for us and was open to try a new place. It was packed with locals which is a good sign. We had a great time with top notch food and service. Went with whole fish and half of order of pasta which was yummy. Had pizza and artichoke appetizer...recommend place only negative was the noise as it was packed and people were hanging at the kitchen side seats waiting for their table and were very loud.

Celebration Time

By Dale D |

Tonight I took my wife to a long awaited special dinner at the fabled MC Kitchen. We have been wanting to try this highly popular spot for some time now but we decided to finally go there for our 50th Anniversary! Yes- 1964 to 2014. Having dined at very special places throughout our world travels, we feel a bit jaded, but this place exceeded our expectations. Located in the hot new Design/Wynwood areas just north of downtown, we found the valet parking fee of $3.00 a bargain, although there were ample metered spaces on the street. The venue is very classy. No music at all (thank G-D). We were immediately seated and offered drinks with the menus. The appetizers were difficult to choose from. They all sounded good. We settled on a Caesar salad, which was large enough to share for two. It was delicious. The Fig Pizzetta was fabulous. It is larger than a flat bread, but smaller than a pizza, and frankly, was really enough to be the only appetizer. It was also delicious. We each had our own main course and shared these as well. Both were very special, with pasta done just right on each. I had the Panciotti, which was really a dreamy plate of ravioli in a very mild yellow sauce (?curry?) with four perfect shrimp on top. My wife had the Garganelli Bolognese, which are small pastas tubes with a sauce of various meats. Also spectacular. For desert, we shared the most scrumptious Budino ( warm chocolate cake with a wonderful sauce and banana slices). The service was prompt and friendly, and the entire meal was under $100 without drinks, taxes, or tip. Highly recommended for any occasion, but also, worthy of a special occasion.

Cool vibe, friendly staff, delicious food

By TheMiamiUrbEx |

My sister had wanted Me to go here for a long time. I finally went the other night with my cousin and it was definitely worth it. We shared a bottle of red wine and started with the artichoke bruschetta which was out of this world. I got the seafood pasta in a chili broth which was very light and super-flavorful. My cousin got the ravioli with asparagus and shrimp. The Shrimps on both dishes were cooked perfectly and everything was so light, not heavy which I liked. For dessert we had the chocolate banana budhino. It's literally like a chocolate lava cake if You just undercooked it and mushed both the crust and the inside all together so it's nice and soft and fluffy.....idk if that was the best description but it was one of the best desserts I've had in a while and I really am not a dessert person. Service was surprisingly very down to earth and friendly. I expected since it was a more upper priced restaurant in the design district with a well know name that they would be stuck up like many other places. All the waiters and staff were really cool and genuine. We went on a Monday might so it wasn't so busy, but I bet this place has a very nice scene on a Friday or Saturday night. Bar is really cool and the outside area too which is where we sat. I highly suggest this restaurant if you are in the mood for a lighter Italian dinner....

Always lovely

By lulubirdie |

On my most recent visit, I was with family. However, I frequently hold business lunches at MC Kitchen. The space is always light and clean and the meals never disappoint. While MC kitchen is known for fabulous food, the truffle fries are something that you cannot leave without tasting. One of my favorite dishes at lunchtime is the lobster salad. It's on the menu with filet mignon, a surf and turf salad but if you don't eat meat, you can have just the lobster. My son had the hamburger, served with all the trimmings , bacon and for an extra $2 topped with a farm fresh egg. He loved it and after the truffle fries , he was so full he had half to bring home. I had the veggie soup of the day and it was simple and good. The bib lettuce salad was delicious and light .

Best truffle fries

By Renato T |

Nice restaurant at Wynwood district area serving the best truffle fries in a generous size. Nice place for couples and small groups. The medium price is 18 for the fries and 30 for a plate. I really recommend! Nice atmosphere!!!!

Good Design District Restaurant

By nycnyuguy |

MC is a solid choice restaurant if you happen to be in the Design District. Our waiter was top notch and the tables are nicely spaced allowing for conversation. We had a wide sample of various food from the smallish menu and enjoyed everything. The fig pizza was good and the pastas were excellent. Especially outstanding was the roasted pear pasta, which had a good white truffle cream sauce. The pumpkin pasta was good but would have benefitted by being a bit more al dente. We also had a veal chop which was nicely cooked but at $58 was a bit expensive for the dish. A chocolate dessert was a very good finishing for nice meal from a good restaurant.

Great ambiance and food!

By BeatrizG2 |

This restaurant located in the Design District offers a modern Italian menu with fresh local ingredients, an impressive wine list and impeccable service in a modern setting for a lovely dinning experience

Excellent

By curatedguide |

We recently had a delicious lunch in this elegant restaurant. The modern decor is filled with light from the large windows. We had a great Bibb lettuce salad with pistachios and cranberries, and a wonderful Alaskan halibut dish with truffle fries. The atmosphere was so pleasant and our server was very attentive. The restaurant is in the design district with valet parking.

Excellent food in modern decor setting

We came here for lunch and the food was extremely good. The service was also good. The setting and decoration is very modern and there is always a crowd of people here.

Overrated & Overpriced

By James S |

It's pretty, stylish and modern, it's in the heart of the Design Center. Those are the up points. We sat outdoors on the small patio. Service was iffy, because we were out of sight of the waitstaff who remained indoors. I had an omelette, it was okay. It tasted a bit dry and it just wasn't fluffy or exciting. Good, not great. My partner had a burger. He ordered medium rare it came somewhere between medium and well done. They were nice enough to comp our drinks when we told them. I thought our meal was very expensive for brunch. It looks great, service was so-so and I found the food dull.

Amazing!

By Belkis |

This Italian spot in the design district is a 5 stars all the way. The cocktails are delicious, the food is excellent and the service was outstanding. Our server took his time explaining the evening specials and other dishes as well. He was very helpful with the recommendation and questions we had. The sommelier also came over to explain and suggest certain wines since I was looking to try something new but also to pair with my roasted pear truffle pasta (which was out of this world, totally recommend it). The bar is beautiful, the ambience is amazing. This is a perfect place to go to for happy hour after work or even a special date night. Absolutely loved this place.

Luscious Lunch

By marlene A |

We were shopping in the Design District and needed a break, so we stopped in at MC Kitchen, which had been highly recommended by Miami friends. The restaurant did not disappoint. It is beautifully designed, with a reasonable noise level and a sophisticated buzz. Our waiter was charming and helpful. We had a lobster Cobb salad, crabcakes and truffle fries. The salad was fresh and abundant, with a very generous serving of lobster. The crabcakes were served with a lovely tomato and bibb lettuce salad and were perfectly seasoned and also generous. The huge bowl of trufffle fries were sinfully crisp and addictive. Very hard to return to shopping after such a feast. We'll be back for dinner.

Lovely little oasis of foodieness in the middle of Miami's Disign District

By DougieG67 |

My partner is a designer in DFW and so any major city we go to, we HAVE to visit their design district. Miami didn't disappoint. Great shops, showrooms and lots of ideas. After walking around for a little while we needed a bit to eat and a drink to cool down. We stopped in MC Kitchen and had their Cheese and Meat plate with a glass of wine. The portions were MORE than ample. The Cheese and Meat plate fed two easily for a light lunch and they selection they provided were extremely good. The wine was a bit on the high priced side, but it is the design district so C'est la Vie!

Delicious....absolutely delicious.

Went for lunch. Had the truffle fries and burger. Absolutely delicious. The fries were amazing and the burger was cooked a perfect medium. Would definitely go back and recommend to friends and family.

MC Kitchen - EXCELLENT Modern Italian restaurant!!

By byMT305 |

Located in the Miami Design District for many years, MC Kitchen has remained a standard-bearer of excellent modern Italian cuisine. The lovely modern setting, expert service, and delicious food in consistently maintained. Design District-wide valet parking ($5) is conveniently available. On a recent Saturday night, our group enjoyed: cocktails (excellent Margarita; excellent Manhattan - "Mr. Morris at MC Kitchen) complimentary bread (Insider's tip: not-on-the-menu, but an $11 hot, fresh basket of either plain french fries, or truffle-oil "Aspen" fries is a yummy starter snack for a group of 4-8 people!) house Cesar salad - spot-on DELICIOUS perfect Cesar Pizzeta w/ fig & prosiciutto - YUMMY!! ... enough for 2-4 people sharing Tuna crudo appetizer - mouthwatering delicious! Seared scallops appetizer - delicious! (this can be an entree for smaller appetites) Fettuccine w/ crab meat, tomato, broccolini, snow peas, lemon - YUM!! pan-seared whole branzino - delicious! seared sea bass - delicious! gelato desserts (loved the chocolate & caramel !!) panna cotta with fresh berries - a DELICIOUS work-of-art! house tiramisu - yum! Start-to-finish, EVERYTHING is GREAT at MC Kitchen!! If you've never been, ... what are you waiting for??!!

Tasty Italian, great service

By SW15_22 |

Great food (portions on the appetizers are pretty big - two between two was too much!) and great service. Helpful sommelier guided us to a very reasonable bottle of red. The spicy sausage meat pasta with broccoli was incredible.

One of the lesser enjoyed dinners I have had In Miami!! Loud, expensive, only fair food & fair service. The wine prices our way over priced!

Excellent food place in Miami Design District

By IntlTramp |

Strolling through the new Miami Design District, we found this restaurant. As we already ate lunch at another place, we just stopped by for an espresso and a chocolate muffin (in the take-out section) - it was excellent and the staff very friendly - and the price was decent.

Excellent Food - Excellent Service

By spbuck |

Visited here for the first time this week for a late lunch with a client....Some of the best food and service I've had in quite sometime. Great atmosphere, valet parking available, nice varied menu selection and wine selection. Chef Dena and her staff are 5 Star as is the wait staff...Keep up the great work - see you again on my next visit.

The difinition of the Design District: Lively atmosphere with superb food

By ap |

MC Kitchen is the definition of the Design District. You arrive to a restaurant with high ceilings, bright, beautiful people, excellent service and original food. I recommend the yellow fin tuna that comes with a very original crunchy quinoa, and then the baby chicken with the funky round potatoes that come in all colors.

when shopping in the design district we have lunch at Mc Kitchen

By Crystal1942 |

We usually have lunch here when going to the design district something simple maybe a pasta last time we had spagetti and tomato sauce it was excellent the service is friendly the price correct I am never tired of this restaurant feels like in Italy !

Excellent food,service and ambiance.

By Bornabrit |

Wow,what a wonderful restaurant, located in the design district we found this place quite by accident. Once inside we discovered how elegant the decor was. The waiter came immediately. We were pretty casually dressed .Had we known it was going to be that nice we would have dressed up. The food was nothing short of amazing. We ordered a lot : octopus, caesar salad ( my son said it was amazing) kid pasta , salmon, wild mushrooms , cauliflower..all were fantastic. We shared two desserts a pear tart and a tiramisu.YUM Perfect dinner & excellent service. I highly recommend

Great quality and selection of food

By Barry Goldmeier |

Located in the design district with a valet stand directly in front of the entry door, this restaurant has great salads and a good selection of fish. I liked the halibut at dinner and vegi burger for lunch. The service was spotty from one day to the other.

MC Kitchen - outstanding modern Italian cuisine for 10 years

By byMT305 |

Open since 2013, we’ve been to MC Kitchen numerous times. The menu and food items have maintained a truly excellent quality throughout. Pastas, pizzas, entrees, & their famous basket of delicious piping hot French fries make for delicious lunch or dinner choices. On this recent visit we enjoyed: Very good cocktails (Margarita, & a Manhattan) Pizza, sausage & pepperoni - yum! Tuna tartare - very good Bib lettuce salad - very good Wagyu burger - delicious Strozzapreti pasta w/ spicy sausage, mushrooms, arugula in tomato sauce - DELICIOUS!! French fries - honestly, MUST TRY delicious!! - - a fantastic appetizer basket for a table of 4 Panna cotta (passion fruit flavor) - delicate; yummy!! Affogado - caramel ice cream w/ an expresso coffee pour-over Conveniently located in Miami’s Design District, MC Kitchen is a wonderful restaurant for lunch or dinner. It’s a MUST TRY if you’ve never been; we can’t wait to return!

Amazing Surprise

By Bgcglaze |

Our friends in Miami always take us to expensive restaurant and usually I don't feel like they are worth it. This was was exceptional. My burrata was the first one I've had in the USA that tasted utterly devine. Everything else was absolutely delicious including desserts. If cost is no issue, then this is certainly a place to head for in the design district which I wish I had more time to explore.

Modern Italian cuisine

Excellent choice after shopping in the Design District, elegant setting, open kitchen concept... food absolutely delicious, form the vegan burger , to the spaghetti with peace, penne with spicy sausage and mushrooms, to the passion fruit desert, greatly plated pannacotta, with small merengues, berries and flowers surrounding the pannacotta....Aperol schpritz also great

Quality food

Perfect! Wonderful, top-notch food, the fries are a house delicacy. Fair price! I highly recommend it!!!!!!

Style and Substance

By Jcraigh |

Yes, it is nice to look at - open space, high ceilings, lots of light, and compelling art in a design district mall. But it is an error to assume (as very often is the case in Miami), that good looking means sub-par cuisine. Here, you can have both. We opted for the fish (sword and mahi) for brunch on a Sunday. Remember, this place is so crazed on Saturday night, that we were told " any meal but that one". So, to try fish the day after the rush -and a Sunday at that- seems like a real test. Both entrees were excellent- perfectly cooked, absolutely fresh, with interesting (delicious) sides and presentation. Mind you, this is not a test of the Italian cuisine that is the heart of the menu, but it does suggest they can execute even in the most challenging of circumstances. The wine list is formidable and thoughtful. We had a California Verdelho, that was perfect with the fish and very fairly priced. The dessert - a riff on Panna Cotta - suggested that chef-led is always the best, especially if you give the attention to service which they did as well. I will be going back again, soon.

Edgy and special

By sfdann |

I love that it is not in a normal location. I love that it is a beautiful restaurant. I love Dena Marino. I love the wine pairings. This is a great date restaurant and demonstrates thoughtfulness, caring and class.

Absolutedly fantastic Bar, Good Food but not superb. Artisanal beers are grrreat

By Juan Carlos Fernández Alemán @GoJuanca |

The best Bar tender, excelent service. The food was good but not superb. The octopuss is pretty good, calamari is fantastic and all appetizers are am,azing but the proper food (Main Course) was A Ok. Nothing fabolous and dessert was a chocolate cake that was Ok.

Average food

By IntlTrainer |

My customer took me here for lunch when I was visiting him. It is in an area of town that is full of exclusive shops. I ate snapper with a sauce on it. It was ok - nothing really spectacular. My customer had the spaghetti with meatballs and gobbled it up. He really liked what he got. We also had a salad appetizer that was ok. We shared a blood orange creme brulee that was good. Over all, I think it was overpriced and the food was just ok. Service was good.

Horrible Expirience

By aluisiorg |

I had a horrible experience in this restaurant. My friend orderered a plate, suggested by the waitor, that was not in the menu. When I ordered the check, the price wasn't the one that the waitor had told us. Se called the manager and he was very rude to us. Apart from that, the food was just ok, and the price is too expensive for what they offer. If you want to go to anywhere starting in "Mc", I would even recomend McDonalds before this restaurant.

Bad service

Bad Service, owner Is very rude! We complained but owner refused to help or compensate! Do not go!!!! Horrible Horrible Horrible Horrible Horrible Horrible

A really cool place is this restaurant. The food is done really well, the set Is fine, and the service is first rate.

A convenient stop in the Design District

By Knownews |

I say convenient, because it is not one of the best dinning options in the Design District. Mandolin and Michael’s Genuine are far better options, but MC Kitchen is an adequate option. I thought the dining room was average. It is stuffed into a mall-ish building and is not as charming as you would like in the design district. It is upscale with table clothes and some interesting design features. The highlight is the centrally located bar. The menu was has a creative take on old classics…and some old classics. Salads, pizza, sandwiches, pasta along with a few entrees for lunch. I had the Caesar salad, but I wish I had ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. The food was good. Our server was a pleasant fellow, but just a notch below what you would like from a top-notch restaurant. Was this review helpful? Please let me know by clicking on the button below. Thank you.

Just Amazing!!!

By Ishtarsekhmet |

The food is great, service too. Portions are a little small but it really did not matter to me. Highly recommend it!

Amazing food

Amazing food. The menu brings a variety of options of Italian plates. I had spaghetti with seafood. Just mouthwatering!

Splendid Italian in Design District

By Marc L |

Not overly fancy or pretentious, but MC Kitchen is a beautifully designed restaurant with fresh, delicious Italian cuisine. The staff is attentive but not intrusive, and I have enjoyed the restaurant both for business lunches as well as date night dinners. The menu isn't large, but each items is prepared with care and attention.

Lovely Food

By Happytwinkle |

We booked a table at this restaurant and as we read all the reviews we weren’t too sure whether we should cancel our booking. We decided to give it a chance. This is a really lovely restaurant. The service is excellent and the food is top notch. Better than almost any restaurant we have eaten at in Miami. The food is very fresh and elegantly served. A very European classy restaurant. Lovely menu and the food is perfectly cooked. We will definitely return.

Good restaurant

By Jose J |

Pricy but good. Excelente service. Relative good wine menu but excessive margin of profit on the wine. Food id good. In miami theres a lot of italian equally good at better price.

Good Italian

By albert d |

Great food, great area, great staff. Very clean, and very romantic at the same time especially if you go with the love of your life. Just make your reservation ahead of time. Valet very good price. Great experience there!

another good restaurant at the designer center area

By efrain i |

Because of old believes about the area we had not been back in the area in a long time. To our surprise, it has changed a lot, it feels safe again. A lot of new restaurants and shoppes. The food and the service was excellent.

Very good choice for dinner

By BillGibson1 |

Had dinner recently, and it was very good. The decor is trendy and modern, but in a nice way. Service was good, staff was friendly. Cocktails were excellent. Food was good, though the menu was too limited. Pizza and pasta were good. My friend had the chicken paillard, and it was thin as a piece of paper. dry, with little flavor. Why aren't there any local fish options anymore? I used to be able to get something like pompano or grouper here, and this time, all they had was a generic salmon. I'd like to see more variety on the menu, and especially more local options. That being said, I still enjoy it here very much, and plan to return next time I'm in Miami.

over rated over priced

By Guyrobles |

Excellent service, thanks John! Nice tan! This place is always full of people, yet the quality of the food seemed to me pretty average. $35 for a corking fee! Come on guys, two bottles $70! For just pouring it into a wine glass! The appetizers were great, the entree not so good. The Florida rabbit was more like pork pull from the south! Gelato was not sweet enough and expresso weak. Not what my friends said it was... The check... That was big!

Absolutely amazing.......

By LadyPrimrose |

Loved this place. Food was off the scale - joint favourite restaurant in Miami. Waiter was very helpful going through and explaining all the dishes. Was quite quiet when we turned up - we had an early table, around 7. I would suggest going a bit later to get a better atmosphere. It was fine for us though as we were eating with some friends of ours. I had the bolognese for the main course and it was one of the best I've ever had. Great find.

always consistent..high quality

By javakb |

Great restaurant with owner/chef always in the kitchen. very creative food but also offers simple dishes as well. the service atmosphere and product are all first rate. i highly recommend this restaurant.

Lovely Italian, with a twist

By 64aly |

Fabulous interpretations of some classic Italian dishes, without getting too complex. Risotto with corn and topped with pulled pork and mushrooms. Truffle fries are worth a try, too … not too much oil, just enough. The next day (I returned with a different set of guests) an amazing pasta carbonara .. with a perfectly cooked egg in the middle so the yolk becomes the finishing touch, as soon as you break it. Thoughtful service with a smile. The very nice hostess also checks on you, which is a nice touch. Get out of South Beach and try this place!

Great Fish!

I went to have a business meeting, and Oh wow! The fish was amazing, the best salad ever, great service! Great coffee as well!

MC Kitchen - always EXCELLENT modern Italian cuisine!!

By byMT305 |

Located in the Miami Design District since 2013, MC Kitchen has maintained EXCELLENT quality cuisine. Founding Chef Dena Marino (now private chef for Lebron James) has departed several years ago, but the great food and excellent execution persists. Design District has convenient $5 district wide valet parking, and the restaurant ambiance is comfortable and pleasantly quiet (especially by Miami standards). We enjoyed: Great cocktails (Margarita, & Boulevardier) Pasta Bolognese (a Dena Marino classic!) Risotto topped w/ seared scallops - YUM! Tiramisu - fresh, light, & tasty Whether looking for a simple couples night out, a special occasion, or a family gathering (Note: MC Kitchen serves an OUTSTANDING basket of hot, crispy french fries - GREAT for sharing!), MC Kitchen is a FANTASTIC choice! We look forward to returning soon!!

Excellent food

By Betosal |

We went on the advice of a friend of my daughter, at first I only stayed for that, because we arrived about 14:30, and the restaurant was empty, only occupied a table with 1 couple, but we entered The service was excellent, attentive, sympathetic. The ambiance is great The menu is not extensive but has good options, the courvet came a delicious bread with a very good olive oil, I don't know if it was the hunger KKk The food came fast, and all dishes, 5, were well presented and tasty There's a chocolate dessert, which my daughter and granddaughter asked me to prove is excellent, a hot cake with chocolate and ice cream. Price is fair and the service was all the time attentive and friendly. A good and pleasant lunch. It's worth it Then they occupied another 3 months.

Delightful restaurant

Great atmosphere, food and service. The only thing missing is a bread basket. Erik is an outstanding waiter, truly professional and accommodating.

Where's The Pasta In My Pasta?????

By elizabeth b |

Located in the Design District, We ventured in on a Friday night. Being locals we decided to see what the fuss was all about. We were quickly seated in this modern-style decor in a center table. The menu looked pleasing and we decided to share the Burrata for appetizer and we each ordered a "Homemade" Pasta. The Waiter seemed frazzled and took our order and brought us each one piece of rosemary bread and poured bland olive oil to dip the bread in. We were a bit concerned with the presentation of the bread and were extremely uncomfortable in the office-like chairs that had no arms. They brought the Burrata to the table and after examining the plate the "Chef" must have forgotten the tomatoes. There were 4 extra-small mini pieces of polenta to eat with the Burrata. FYI, this is not a dish to share or for the latter, even order. Upon removal of the Burrata dish, the bread plates were also removed. They quickly served us our pasta. I had ordered the Pear and Cheese Fiocchi which seemed somewhat sparse on the plate and my Significant Other ordered the Carbonara. We were clearly confused ,did he order the Carbonara Soup minus the Pasta? Upon asking the waiter regarding the lack of pasta served; he quickly brushed off with a curt response stating that this a full portion which serves 5 ounces of pasta. We were extremely concerned regarding that statement because when we were placing the order, he offered half-size portions, this dish being one of them. Needless to say, my Significant Other had to request bread which they brought unwillingly to feel somewhat full. When the waiter asked us if we would like to have dessert, we asked if the portions were as small and he concluded yes at which time we quickly left and had dessert nearby at another restaurant in the area. The lack of customer service and leaving hungry, I emphatically urge you not to spend your hard earned money here. A very bad experience with a lot of hype but no oomph!!!

Great Italian in the Design District.

By gsimpruiz |

We loved this restaurant. The food is exceptional, refreshed Itallian, the service was impeccable and the ambiance is lovely. Will definitely return.

Very nice upscale Miami. Good energy.

By Ron M |

We had lunch on a Saturday and were very pleased with the service and the food. During lunch they only serve brunch on Saturday which was a little off putting on a but not a deal killer. I had the Snapper which is on the regular menu and it was so very fresh and delicious. My wife had a special for the day with scallops and she loved it. The decor is very upscale Miami and the Design District the restaurant is in will be vey impressive when all of the many shops they are building are complete

Consistent quality

By Guyrobles |

I have been to this place several times already and always feel totally satisfied with the food and the service. A great place for a quiet dinner with friends accompanied by great choices of wines. Service is second to none and the fact the valet parking is right on front makes it an easy place to access in the design district area. Great choice.

Holiday evening dinner

By Joannaroberjot |

Wonderful food & service....highly recommend. The food presentation was excellent and the service was professional and subtle.

Flippant service

By Riccardo_Iname |

The food is OK, pretending to be good. The atmosphere is pleasant: subdued, good lighting and ample space between tables. In general the dishes are over-adorned, with one or more too many ingredients on the same dish. Distracting tastes are a detriment to the core element of each dish. The service is flippant. A special of the day dish advertised as "comes with chickpeas in a white Balsamic vinaigrette and mozzarella cheese" did not bring this contour. When this was brought to the waiter's attention the first time, he said he'd look into it. Which of course means he did not. The second time, and the answer was that the chef would come to the table to explain. Which of course means the chef had no intention. The third time, the waiter simply walked away. Flippant and indifferent. Not a good impression for clients accustomed to a higher level of courtesy.

Nice restaurant, little food

By David A |

The ambiance, the location and the food is good. However the portions are very small and it's a little too pricy. Service was nice. I am just sad that there was not more than 8 farfalle in my plate. It is priced like the best restaurants in Miami and you leave disappointed...

Good Food in Design District

By KFBuchsbaum |

We got off to a rough start when I didn't see any of my favorite brands of bourbon on the bar menu, but I tried something new and enjoyed both the selection and the well-poured serving. We were with a group of friends and ordered a wide variety of dishes, portions were ample. I had the special, which was a tenderloin served with a seasonal butternut squash risotto - it was delicious. With six of us we could easily have a group conversation, I think with a larger group it would have been difficult. They actually discourage larger groups, although they were willing to accommodate our original reservation for more guests (and were understanding when we reduced the number). Wait staff was very pleasant and the service was good. Decor is modern, as you might expect in the Design District. We had heard good things about this spot and it lived up to it's promise. I would go back.

Very Good

By Jjacome316 |

I went with my wife, we ordered the pizzeta and truffles fries as appetizers, both were great. Then we shared the penne bolognesa which was really tasty. The atmosphere is really nice and the craft beers are very good.

Needs a lot of improving

By Gerald M |

Went for dinner on 5/28. Had 7;45 reservation. Seated immediately.Service good but the food was just mediocre. the four of us had four different pastas, and no one enjoyed their dinner. the pasta was undercooked, and tasteless. I had the pasta with sausage and broccoli rabe, the sausage was over cooked no taste, and there was hardly a trace of broccoli rabe..One of the other pastas was undercooked and the other two were not good either This place is not cheap, and the food should be better prepared. You can make better choices. the only good thing was that valet parking was only $5.

great experience

By Devon S |

sat at the bar with friends and ordered the fiocchi, which are homemade cheese filled purse pouch pastas, in a light cream with pan-roasted pears and truffle oil, the fresh angus burger that comes on a warm homemade bun with lettuce, tomato, mushrooms and cheese and make sure to ask for the truffle fries and you'll be glad you did..service was great..

Great food, service and ambiance

By Miamiadguy |

I came here during the week for lunch and it was amazing. Our server was nice, prompt and helpful in selecting a dish. I had the burger which was amazing, but my friend had the bolognese with pasta and that was AMAZING. Next time I come, I will totally have that!

Pleasant lunch in this strange part of town

By harpendenscout |

We were in this Fashion District and asked several people for a recommendation for lunch. The popular choice was MC Kitchen. Nice premises, pleasant staff. We chose the salmon crude which was excellent and then I had the Caesars with shrimp, good. The staff were most helpful in arranging for a taxi back to our hotel. All in all a nice place for a leisurely lunch

ELEGANT ITALIAN CUISINE

By Betty K |

Chef Dena Marino is hugely talented and inventive. Several of her dishes deserve their place in a culinary Hall of Fame, especially her Artichoke Heart Bruschetta with Farm Egg and Parmesan Cream generously topped with shaved black truffles. The crispy calamari was lightly battered and tender. Pasta with roasted pear in a cheese and truffle cream sauce was wonderful. The Veal Osso Buco with polenta was lush and a small fork was provided to dig the silky marrow out of the bone. The Pork Chop with a hash of bacon, apple and shaved Brussels sprouts was yummy, as was a whole branzino served with salad. The portions were so generous, we had no room for desert, but after looking at the dessert menu we are resolved to save room next time. And there certainly will be a next time. The service was excellent. The wines we ordered were ones we'd never heard of but they were universally delicious; perhaps they came from smaller vintages.

White tablecloth restaurant with contemporary decor and professional service. Excellent food and wine.

Just OK

Nice restaurant located in the shopping districtict (Design District) of Miami. Cool decor, great service, limited menu and food was just ok. Not the best meal I've ever had nor the worse. Fun area to visit and go for a night out.

Whenever I visit Miami, MC Kitchen is a must go place. Please put it on your list of restaurants on your next visit.

Good food and great service

By wizinit_9 |

Went for brunch on Easter Sunday with another couple. First thing we noticed: the noise level was so low we could actually hold a normal conversation and hear each other. Next was the service. Our waiter was a real Sicilian who took great care of us. Then the food: we shared the truffle fries, which is expensive but a nice alternative to bread and butter. We ordered four different dishes for lunch and sent back empty plates. I had the steak and eggs, a great choice. I might have ordered the branzino, which is my favorite restaurant fish, but found the price prohibitive. To close we shared a ricotta cheese cake topped with berries served with a ball of gelato recommended by the waiter and ordered coffee. All in all a memorable restaurant experience.

Unexpected Pleasure

By Neil K |

Friend suggested while in Miami. Not in an area I would normally go but what a great surprise. Wish I had been there earlier before our reservation as the area around this gem is full of design studios and furniture stores. We pulled up and valet was $3..yes,$3. We thought he said $30 like it would be in South Beach. It was a Sunday night so not as packed as a Fri or Sat, which they told us was always full. We were greeted and seated by exceptionally nice people and the sommelier was fantastic for both our wine and Tequila needs. The food was excellent and a reasonable price. Totally recommend as a place out of the lime-light of South Beach but I bet this area is plenty crazy Friday and Saturday night. Definitely give it a try.

Truffle dream

By bruce b |

Another replacement of another fashion food place was my initial fear, as Fratelli Lyon use to occupy this space in the Design District of Miami. MC has softened the appearance. It is cool and restful. The staff are quiet and attentive, and cooperative with each other. The food is superb. We started with 2 appetizers. Stone oven roasted octopus over a crunchy black risotto zinged with spice and contrasting texture. As fantastic as it was, it met its match in the artichoke heart bruschetta. Tender artichoke rested on crunchy bread topped with a poached farm egg with creamy parmagiano sauce topped with shaved truffles. The intense dark scent and flavor of the truffle subtly permeated the the dish. With the crunch and cream contrast the whole dish made us dance and sing in our heads! These two appetizers and a salad would be enough, but we followed with the pan-seared halibut and the grilled swordfish, both of which were perfectly cooked with a light exterior crisp and succulent interior, and served with flavorful and colorful sides creating a magnificent color palate to delight the eye. We went on a Monday as this was our anniversary. We were a little concerned since Mondays often see sous-chefs take over. No fear, we can't imagine surpassing the sous-chef, and wouldn't hesitate to go back on a Monday or any day.

Very good

By Bull0424 |

It has a nice atmosphere and very good design. Food is very good, specially the pastas. Maybe, the menu is a little short. Service just fine.

Just OK

By bmlbear |

The ambiance was very nice, the food was OK. I was really expecting more. The service was good . I found the appetizers to be the best part of the meal - we had the fight pizza, the calamari and Octopus(a little skimpy on the portion). I didn't taste the deserts but everyone at the table said they were very good - chocolate mousse. Suggestion: have drinks and appetizers.

Consistently great food

By Nancy854 |

I come here often, bringing friends and relatives. It is always outstanding. Delicious food and great service in a crisp, clean atmosphere. Menu varies a little each time but always great.

Over rated and expensive!

By Giantimo |

I had several recommendations of the place before going and had great expectations specially when seeing the prices. My appetizer was a fig pizza that was honestly good, good dough and flavory. Entrees where very disappointing, I had a pasta with seafood, seafood was cooked in wine, but the taste made me think of very cheap wine, seafood was scarce for the quality of plate and price. Other entrees the same nothing special and $$$. Had no dessert after all the disappointment but did have espresso and limoncello both nothing special... Limoncello was awful!

Not What It Was

First time since lock down and the place looks a bit worn. Service was good. Food was good. Went on Wednesday night in Feb. and only a few tables booked. Miss the old MC Kitchen.

Wonderful lunch!

By Paul C |

My wife and I went here, in the heart of the design District, for an early lunch and were very pleased. We had an excellent Vermintino that was reasonably priced. Our waiter was professional and very helpful in designing a pasta tasting with half servings of their signature dishes. He and the other waiter were very knowledgeable about wine, particularly Italian wine, and we took the opportunity to talk to them briefly about the wines of Sicily, where one of the waiters was from originally. The lunch was capped off by the staff's response to a special request I made regarding a gift I was arranging for my wife. Suffice it to say that they were extremely accommodating; the manager acted immediately and powerfully to fulfill my request. The genteel service and excellent food had me mark this in map app as a new favorite in Miami.

I love this place!

By THEGOODLIFENOW |

Beautifully designed, fabulous food, and top notch service. Marcus is an amazing host that took me through a beer journey like no other. His knowledge and collection is unsurpassed. The bruschetta is not to be missed.

Great truffle fries!

By bayimc |

Our waiter was on top of the menu. Everything we ordered was good. It's a bummer they did not have seating outside, especially in Miami, one looks for that. Also, the specials of the day were almost another menu itself, hard to keep track when it's verbally shared. I would really recommend the truffle fries, but it's big!

Did not disappoint

By Dale D |

My last review of MC Kitchen was October 2014, so now, we went back for a celebration of our 55th wedding anniversary-1964-2019). If anything, this restaurant was better than the last time. The ambiance is perfect. Quiet surroundings, no sound music, and extremely congenial wait staff (Maria from Poland) and our friend from Kenya. Since we had just returned from Africa we had a great conversation. We started again with the marvelous Caesars salad. The dressing was made from scratch, with emulsified oil and vinegar, egg, and spices, and a genuine white anchovy. We enjoyed the signature Garganelli Bolognese (fabulous flavors), and strozzapreti (pasta). Both portions too large to finish. Desert was a marvelous Budino, a warm chocolate with sauce, and a candle for our anniversary. Wines by the glass start at $10. Our bill with two glasses of wine and desert was $120 plus tip, tax, Avgain, we cannot wait to go back. Highly recommended.

Right in one of the fastest growing part of Miami, MC Kitchen produces some wonderful food. It's in a cool location and has a nice selection of really well made pastas. There was a fine risotto as a special that evening. All in the party were pleased . Would have enjoyed it more if there were better wines at more reasonable prices. The service was less than perfect.

MC Kitchen - PHENOMENAL Modern Italian dinning !!

In a city with numerous outstanding, fine dinning restaurants, food at MC Kitchen is outstanding and has earned its' place among Miami's finest. Unlike "famous" restaurant's with "absent" star chefs, Chef Dena Marino is in-the-house (& in the open kitchen) plying her trade ... consistently excellent food is a hallmark of MC Kitchen. The restaurant interior is modern, and the seating is very comfortable. The ambient "noise" is of the pleasant "background variety", very conducive to dinner conversation. We enjoyed the following: Complimentary warm, thick-sliced Italian bread -- addictively good! House margaritas - tasty (and strong!!) Chardonnay (by the glass) - light, French, notes of citrus ... pared great w/ dinner Caesar salad - fresh & delicious Bibb lettuce salad w/ cranberries, blue cheese, & maple vinaigrette Eggplant lasagna (Lasagna di Melanzane) - delicious flavors (no pasta; just eggplant, red sauce, & cheese) Grilled Pork chop w/ pan-caramelized brussel sprouts, aple, & pancetta bacon -- perfectly cooked & yummy Risotto dela notte -- tonight's risotto was: mushroom & lobster -- MUST TRY!! -- a perfect risotto !! Tiramisu - MC Kitchen's deconstructed tiramisu is a classic!! Pumpkin cheesecake - available on this night as a seasonal dessert -- light, creamy, absolutely delicious!! MC Kitchen does not "neglect" their desserts ... save room!! MC Kitchen is "modern" Italian (i.e. not "red sauce" spaghetti & meatballs dominated). The food preparation is consistently outstanding ... we've been many, many times over the past several years. In contradistinction to fine restaurants where one might have 1 or 2 favorites, MC Kitchen's menu presents the "dilemma" of A LOT of incredibly tempting choices (Tonight alone, we bypassed yummy favorites such as: crispy calamari, mouthwatering fresh-baked fig & prosciutto pizzetta, creamy pear & cheese fiocchi, garganelli bolognese -an MC Kitchen classic, swordfish or grouper entrees, housemade gelatos for dessert ... you get the idea!!) (Insider's tip: Chef Dena's off-the-menu famous "Aspen truffle french fries ... Incredible!!). MC Kitchen is a shining start of Miami's Design District, and attracts diners far & wide (convenient Design District system-wide valet parking is $5.00). Their food is outstanding start-to-finish, and their consistency is a hallmark of their ever-present Chef. If you haven't been, you should DEFINITELY put this on your list. We (greatly) look forward to returning!

A Modern Italian Winner!!

We've enjoyed MC Kitchen many, many times with friends and family -- ALWAYS excellent (Hard-working Chef Dena Marino is ALWAYS behind the counter of her open kitchen). We've regularly enjoyed: pizzetta w/ fresh fig & prosciutto, pasta bolognese, roasted pear and ricotta fiocchi pasta, and Chef Marino's lighter modern take pan-seared fresh fishes (halibut, branzino, etc). Delicious desserts include: warm chocolate bundino cake, house-made ice creams & sorbets, panna cotta etc. We LOVE MC Kitchen -- Easy In & Out with inexpensive Design District valet parking (The very inventive drink menu is always changing ... this month's Willie Johnson -- Rye, ginger, & fresh citrus -- is delish!!).

$26.00 for a martini

By Serge D |

Hi , My partner and I go for years to MC Kitchen however this time we decided to go there just for a martini because we had dinner plans later on. The martinis were fine but we were shocked the price was $26.00 each martini . I asked the bartender if this was a mistake and she said no I know it’s a lot but that’s the price now . With that said I am not going anymore to MC Kitchen (for sure no martinis)not being cheap but this is a way to expensive, I felt like we were in the four seasons on the beach $ wise but unfortunately we were not 😌

The Worst Brunch Ever!!

By Alejandra |

Went with my husband for Brunch on a Saturday. Ordered the pasta filled with pear just because it sounded amazing, and it was! Delicious! Then we asked about the oatmeal pancakes, we were afraid they would be too thick and heavy, we were told they were just like normal pancakes, "light and fluffy", they were not, they were swimming on a pool of starwberry liquid, super heavy cakey texture and came with no syrup. My husband oredered the steak and eggs and the steak was more than well-done, no pink, when we had ordered medium. They changed his and still came well done. I changed mine for the salmon omelette and it was so salty I couldn't eat it. After being so dissapointed and still hungry, we decided to try 3 of the desserts which sounded amazing, because "how can they mess up dessert, right?" Well, they did. The penna cota was frozen in the middle!!! What??? The creme brulee was not warm. And the apple tart was cold and the texture was sandy. It was really awful, I LOVE dessert, for me that was just terrible. So sad because we love to find new awsome places were we can come back and bring friends. This place, never again. Oh, and they also tried to charge us 2 extra mimosas!!!! ($15 each). Just not the place to go for brunch!

A Real Gem!

We are unfamiliar with this part of Miami, so we asked a Police Officer if he could recommend a restaurant. I would say that the decor of this restaurant is simple elegance, yet we felt right at home. And the food .... To die for! We were both in the mood for Italian so we had the spaghetti & meatballs, and it was cooked to perfection! As close to homemade as I have ever eaten in a restaurant. The Rosemary bread was hot with a perfect crunchy crust. Service was immediate, attentive and professional. Definitely worth a return visit.

Great food & decor, but lacking the service piece

My fiancé and I, with two of our friends, decided to try out MC Kitchen during Miami Spice on a Wednesday night. We were all coming from different places so I ended up arriving early and decided on a drink at the bar. The bar, as well as the restaurant, are beautifully decorated. I was helped at the bar by the manager (I didn't know at the time he was the manager though) who knew very well what he was doing behind the bar. Pricing on the drinks was pretty high... like South Beach club prices. As the group arrived we all had a round at the bar and again the service here was exceptional. After closing out the tab at the bar we seated for our meal. If you're unfamiliar with what Miami Spice is - it's a campaign across all of Miami where a great deal of restaurants offer a slimmed down menu for a lower than normal price which entices locals (and tourists alike) to try new restaurants they may not have normally tried because of the higher prices on main courses. All of us ordered different meals on the Miami Spice menu, each of which included an appetizer, a main course, and a dessert. It took no less than 25 minutes for the appetizers to arrive and an additional 25-30 minutes before anyone of us saw an entrée. We were all pretty annoyed at the slow (snails-pace is more like it!) service. After entrees it took an additional 20 minutes for the server to bring us our desserts. And that only happened after I flagged someone down - who happened to be the manager (and the person who took care of us at the bar). I caught a glimpse of him delivering food to tables, bartending, really doing a little bit of everything. He saw the annoyed look we all had and immediately went and grabbed a couple servers who all brought out our desserts. While the service was terrible... the food was WONDERFUL! Just delicious! It's a shame that a restaurant with great decor, great service at their bar, can't have the same wonderful service when you sit down to a meal. I've been in sales for over 13 years, so I understand stuff happens. I chatted with the manager after we paid the bill and started to leave. We chatted about what I thought could help him avoid the type or problems we experienced that evening. In a normal world I likely wouldn't give them another chance... and would never go back. But the food is SOO GOOD, that I'll just give them some time to figure it out before going back.

An evening of Perfection: food, professional staff and management, ambiance, quality, menu choices, wine list……

If a restaurant could hit a Grand Slam, MC Kitchen did July 3rd, 2021! I would not adequately do justice by merely describing the fabulous dinner we consumed and prepared by Chef Freddy and staff. Nor would I be fair to the extraordinary waitstaff by saying they could do no wrong…they couldn’t be faulted for being professionals at the top of their game! Thank you Raul for leading our table service. There is always a secret ingredient when all elements blend to deliver a memorable restaurant experience. So thank you to Brandy Colette for creating MC Kitchen in the Design District and for putting together a great management team - especially Dean D’alberto. The Octopus appetizer was delicious, accompanied by the Bibb Salad with Blue Cheese. We luxuriated with the Garganelli and the Spaghetti Misto as entrees. Dean recommended the Alexana winery’s Pinot Noir as an accompaniment to our pastas and it paired perfectly. Being Napa snobs, taking a detour to the Williamette Valley Oregon grape was daring. Thank you for recommending it. I say without reservation (although you will need them) make MC Kitchen your first destination for fine dining at its Miami BEST.

Tasty food and great wine list

Went to a large dinner with about 20 colleagues. The food was great and staff helpful. One of the best restaurants in the Design District.

My favorite

Pricey but classy

Great food, service and ambience. Do not forget to buy their amazing olive oil that they will be glad to offer. And do have some bread with it to start with. The bread is pretty amazing also.

JUST OK

By ElJeffeMiami |

First visit today for lunch. Nice vibe, nice room and organized courteous staff which is sometimes difficult to find in Miami. Ordered a Rosso de Montalcino in anticipation of some hearty Italian flavors. My Ceaser salad was tired, chopped lettuce, few uninspired croutons and an average dressing. My dining partner had a much better bibb lettuce salad. On first visits to Italian restaurants I often look for a bolognese of some type to get a sense of the quality of the sauces the kitchen can produce. This again had little to no character; wasn't bad but nothing distinguishing it. My partner had meatballs and spaghetti. Again the sauce tried to approach a rich flavor but never got there. Dessert was an interesting preparation of espresso engulfing 2 small scoops of chocolate ice cream. It didn't work until the ice cream melted and sweetened the entire offering. Perhaps I didn't order well or caught the chef in a slump but in this City for me it's one and out.

To American to real Italian

MC Kitchen has lowered our its standards - not real Italian. The kale salad has too much oil, the branzino was full of garlic and not properly deboned. The veal chop was very good.

Excellent but not superior

By BFBoston |

We were taken to this restaurant by knowledgeable Miami natives. It is in the Design District, which seems to change its street scene weekly. We had an excellent dinner. The pasta and shell fish was perfectly cooked and not overcooked, tasty, and couldn't be better--but routine and uninspired. Others at the table had pasta dishes as well and were generally pleased. The artichoke/brushetta appetizer was a very expensive and complete surprise from that expected--a huge artichoke heart slab covered with a very rich cream sauce. Overall, a very good meal andI would not hesitate to return. About $75 per person with some drinks, tip included.

Hi Just wanted to say my word about my ridiculous experience i had with you guys this evening (Aug 31st 2014) we were in a group, 20 people, i ended up being the only one with main course. They simply forgot to make my dish the apologized and said would take 2 minutes to make my dish, it took around 10 minutes, and a bit embarrassing since everyone in my party was enjoying their dinner i i was just watching. And finally when it came, my snapper was raw inside and burned outside, and the rice was completely uncooked. i had to send my plate back and by that time i wasn't hungry anymore. And at the end, the least the would've done was not charge me for anything. but they still charged me for the soda i had. For sure i would never want to go there again, and for sure never recommend the restaurant for anybody Rafael Wisintainer

Dust under the carpet

At first sight looks great but than you start looking at details and than you would like to go out right away....but we ferced ourselves to stay....food is really nothing special with an "italian" and international menu...you can eat like this almost everywhere in Miami...but the waiter was kind of bored, unkempt service in general was absent meaning that they forgot about us a couple of times even when we were ready to pay the bill last but not least the yellow /orange pillow of our seats as well as the curtains were dirty brown.....this place needs a real manager !!

Something went wrong

By Thomas E |

About a year ago we came to this restaurant and yesterday we decided to come back. Long delays, staff lost, watter served had tiny things floating around and the jumbo shimpt dish I eat ar 3:00 pm I did vomit it out at 6:00 pm. Someting was lost in the process. This place used to be good. The other dish, a steak to be shared by 3 is not big enough for 3, maybe 2, and the cost is outrageous. I am writing this place off. They do not even have expresso spoons anymore!

Very good restaurant

Restaurant met expectations. Very good. The fries come with the truffled olive oil apart. Careful and bilingual waiters. Fair price.

Superb quality

By RickyHecker |

Very nice decor, excellent service, amazing italian dishes as well international choices. The tuna crudo was awesome, the mixture of the lemon and grapefruit with the tuna is excellent, I can also recommend the Garganelli Bolognese and above all the "Fiocchi Di Fermaggio Pera" which is out of this world. They also have a great selection of wines and spirits.

Expensive but good italian food

By France R |

Good italian cuisine with open bar facing galleries, in the heart of the Design District. But expensive , compared to other very good italian places in Miami Beach with a more attractive location and settings. Not so crowded for a weekend, maybe because of this inconvenience.

Pricey but Delicious Spot in Design District for Drinks & Eats

By TinPeacock |

We had drinks here during Design Miami and were so happy to find such a comfortable spot for a drink (or two) and snack. Highlights were the grilled octopus and extensive spirits selection including some obscure choices. Prices were fairly high but we'd go back for sure.

Dinner

Upscale midtown restaurant with good service and excellent food. We have been to MC Kitchen several times and it always is consistently good. We started with a cheese platter at the bar which hit the spot.

Total disaster

By rlopez617 |

I have been going to this place for business and family for many years and suddenly, it changed. I was greeted by a very unfriendly host, loud and uneducated. I thought a walked into pollo tropical. Very ghetto service.

Just Ok

By Jean F |

I've been to MC Kitchen several times. In the past, its been good to very good, but on this Saturday night visit, it was just OK. First, we had a 9:15 reservation and we were asked to wait at the bar for 40 minutes! Unacceptable and annoying...plus they did not have Stoly Elite vodka, nor were any apologies offered for the wait. . When were were finally seated, our server (who's waited on us before) was indifferent and hardly welcoming. This is also not good after such a long wait. Bibb lettuce salad and Caesar salad were good. Pan seared Hogfish (recommended by our Russian server) had too many conflicting ingredients on the plate. Fish was good but the combination of items on the plate was overwhelming..... NY strip steak was also good but also had lots of ingredients on the plate including extra sugary-sweet sweet potatoes. All of the sides and sauces detracted from the main element and didn't really seem to go well together. Our waiter also allowed us to order two sides (risotto and brussel spouts----both good) but we ended up with FAR too much food. Also not good. The atmosphere is clean and trendy with nice lighting fixtures but the reception, service, and food need work. It will be awhile before we return.

Very Dissapointed

By FarinasDad |

I was very dissapointed with my experience at MC Kitchen. The food is the cornerstone of the experience and it just didn't deliver. I'm a pasta purist and this was far from authentic and way to sauce-y. The pasta dishes were not just coated in sauce, they were swimming in it. The decor of the room was nice, but that's not why I visit restaurants. Cocktails were mediocre and wine list wasn't interesting. I usually believe in giving restaurants a second chance, but there are too many other options in Miami.
