We had a 12:00 noon seating on Mother’s Day. Reception desk personnel were friendly and sat us down almost immediately. We were given a nice table with a good view overlooking the street. Food quality was excellent. You order your main course meal through the waiters but you get your appetizers and dessert yourself at the tables. They had an excellent selection of seafoods and sushi. Dessert table was also excellent. This brunch is a little pricey but on par for a Four Seasons hotel AND in San Francisco. I would recommend this brunch and look forward to my next time.

All the options that the five of us tried on the special Thanksgiving menu were delicious. And our servers looked after us wonderfully well. It wasn't cheap but it was worth it for a special evening.

Very long wait for breakfast in the morning. Very slow service. Few food options. We waited more for than 30min for our food after ordering. Needs serious improvement.

You always expect great things from the four seasons and this restaurant didn’t disappoint. There was a group of 5 of us for lunch so we had the opportunity to try several different items and they were good. My favorite part was the ice cubes made of ice-tea served with it. Would definitely recommend going back to anybody.

Just finished lunch at MKT with a business colleague. This restaurant is in the lobby of the Four Seasons Hotel and as such, it is pretty much what you would expect from that brand. We were unable to get a reservation as they were fully booked at noon. My colleague who works nearby and comes often says this is the first time that has ever happened. We sat in the bar area which was fine. Interesting to note that the whole time we were there, there we many open tables on the restaurant side. They seem to have some difficulty understanding and managing table turnover. We easily could have been seated on that side without disrupting a reservation. It was a good place for a business meeting but I don't think I would come back for a personal lunch or dinner. The atmosphere just isn't interesting enough nor is the food good enough (especially the price point). More details below: Food - The menu is relatively small but has some excellent choices. We both had salads - one steak and one salmon. I loved the fact that they have sustainable salmon although at this price point I think it should be wild rather than farm raised. The salads are moderate in portion size and fairly simple but very tasty. It was perfect for me but might be considered a small portion by some (especially Americans). We also had the strawberry macaroon dessert which was truly delicious. The menu has something for almost everyone (not much for vegans and pretty light for vegetarians). 4 stars for the food. Service - We were seated in the bar area. Our service was mixed. Very slow to take our order (we had to ask twice). Quick to bring drinks and refill glasses. Very helpful when I needed assistance with the wi fi. 3 stars for service due to being slow with taking the order and bringing and closing out the check. Ambiance - Basic Four Seasons. Lots of wood and dark brown. You definitely feel like you are in a hotel. Since we were in the bar, we had to sit at a high top table. I don't really care for those. The restaurant is on the first floor and does not have a particularly interesting view of the city. From a noise perspective, it was fine. It averaged about 70 decibels which easily allows for conversation. Location - Convenient. Very close to Union Square. Price/Value - In line with what you would expect in a Four Seasons in San Francisco. Translated - may seem expensive to many. The salads were $23 and the dessert was $9. Beverages are really high with non alcoholic choices like coffee and tea being $7-8. Keep your cost down by having water to drink. I would definitely go back for a business lunch or dinner but I would not come here for a personal dinner. The atmosphere screams "work" venue to me and the food wasn't interesting enough to overcome that.

Was in Union Square Christmas Day and most of the restaurants were closed. Luckily MKT at the Four Seasons was open. Erin our bartender made a great French martini. For dinner we had squash soup and some sliders. Great customer service.

This is a great place for a business lunch as the service is excellent and the tables are well spaced as to make private conversations possible. Try the San Francisco Louis Salad with fresh bay shrimp and crab and a delicious Louis dressing. Also try the soups which change often and are very good. Be ready for the tab as a lunch for two with no alcohol was about $100.

Very good food in an elegant sophisticated setting. Service was spectacular, as you would expect. Will certainly be back

Excellent, but pricey, breakfast. The main dining room had very well-prepared dinner entrees. The bar was spacious and comfortable with a lite fare menu accompanying the full dining room menu. Extremely attentive and professional service.

We were STARVING on arrival so we went to the MKT restaurant for lunch. Setting was nice. Portions were petite, somewhat expensive but tasty. If you are STARVING - have a few pieces of the SOURDOUGH bread - it is AMAZING!

On short notice, I tried to book a restaurant Saturday evening in San Francisco for a group of business colleagues, but most of the finer dining restaurants were booked. As a result, I went to my ongoing favorite, the restaurant in any Four Seasons on the planet. Sure enough, they were able to accommodate my party and the meal was excellent. The wine list was also quite good, with reasonable markups, and everybody had an outstanding meal. Over the years, and living in different cities, I have had the privilege of knowing many different chefs in this hotel chain, and they all are consistently excellent. The food was well prepared, tasty, and in a very relaxed and elegant atmosphere. They also have a fun bar scene running next to the restaurant.

I came here with my family on the Halloween weekend for a drink. Nice atmosphere. I had the Spicy Root which was a non-alcoholic drink. It was good but expensive. My criticism though is mainly with how the establishment treats their customers .My daughter and her cousin and friend were in the lady's rest room doing their makeup for their costume. Apparently the cleaning lady or whoever saw them and their makeup articles on the sink and decided to tell security, claiming they were making a mess. They were told to leave. My daughter explained they would clean up when done and they were customers. HE did not listen. She and her friends hurriedly cleaned up and left. For the prices they charge, they should treat people better. I will never go back.

Great breakfast, but very pricey. Breakfast for 3 was $150.00. Excellent staff, service and food, but too expensive.

We recently stayed at the Four Seasons Hotel and one of the reasons we love this hotel is this wonderful restaurant - MKT! They serve the most delicious breakfast with great attentive staff! Our family also went for the wonderful Thanksgiving Dinner they have every year. What could be better to have delicious food, beautiful presentations, stunning environment and not have to cook! Thanks to Alex for handling our reservations. We also enjoy eating at the MKT bar which has lunch, snacks, dinner and great drinks! Thank you to Brad and Anna for your dedication in making MKT such a special restaurant that we enjoy every time we come to San Francisco.

We wanted to go to another breakfast place near Union Square but there was a huge wait and we only had an hour until we left for the airport so decided it might be best just to eat at our hotel - The Four Seasons. We knew it would be expensive and yes, it certainly was. Not many people were in the restaurant at 10:30 a.m. on a week day, and we were seated promptly. We were served Peet's Coffee (good, strong coffee) and looked over the menu. Egg dishes (omelette, scrambled eggs) were $18 and oatmeal was $10. Ordered scrambled eggs w/side of potatoes and substituted fruit for the meat. Eggs arrived about 8 min. later, looking flat and greasy, like the kind made from the egg mixture you can buy in a carton at the grocery store. The portion of the eggs was tiny, maybe a measuring cup size. Accompanying this were 6 pieces of potato. All on a large plate, making the breakfast look even smaller! The eggs tasted rubbery, greasy and bland. I don't think they were cooked completely and didn't eat it all. The fruit consisted of berries and grapes in a tiny side dish, like something you'd put butter in. They were good, however, I discovered the raspberries had dirt inside them still. ugh. We never saw the waiter after he took our order and gave us the check, someone else brought our dishes out to us and filled our water glasses. No one asked how the food was.... we were in a hurry or would have let them know..... don't recommend this place, especially with so many other options nearby.

MKT Restaurant in the Four Seasons Hotel definitely lives up to its reputation. Delicious food, don't miss the grilled octopus, and a friendly and helpful waitstaff make it a winner !!

One expects excellence at a Four Seasons Hotel. We were four people celebrating an important birthday, and I was the only one who thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Two people had roast chicken which was pretty dry and totally uninteresting, and the other person ordered pasta with smoked salmon which was REALLY a shame. When it was delivered to the table it looked so unappetizing! It looked like and WAS a pile of dry spaghetti with barely a hint of salmon. Thank goodness the desserts were delicious, but we had gone there for a delicious celebration. Service was great, but I would NEVER return there to eat.

We ate lunch in the MKT. The food is fine but ordinary and the dining room is so exposed that you feel like you are sitting in the hotel lobby. The real problem is that there are many, many great restaurants close by, all much better than the MKT. There is not reason to eat there aside from convenience.

Dinner for five. Dishes were good to just okay. Service was outstanding. Started with a dozen oysters. The selection was not as varied as you might expect from the venue, but the oysters were good. Didn't love the accompaniments --run-of-the-mill hot sauce and mignonette. The Fruit of the Sea was billed as a kind of cioppino. The broth was lighter than the classic cioppino, but it was delicious. The seafood was good, too, though crab was missing. That was probably the best dish. Steak so-so. All in all, a good hotel restaurant (not great) with strong service. .

after walking 12 miles all day we happened upon the Four Seasons & had a drink. Then we asked the hostess at MKT if they had an early sitting opening & they did! so we ordered the cheese platter, kale Caesar , scallops & salmon. glasses of Cabernet & pro secco... the donuts & coffee ice cream for a decadent dessert. very pleased that we managed to get to dine here!!

Great breakfast choices as befitting a Four Seasons restaurant. Excellent corned beef hash with eggs any style. Superb lemon ricotta pancakes and wonderful omelettes any way one would imagine them. Only complaint was the failure to refill my coffee pot. Otherwise great!

My family and I ate here several times during our stay at the hotel. The food was tasty, service impeccable, and the restaurant itself is lovely with a view of Market Street from huge windows along one wall. They have a kids menu with some options beyond the usual hot dog, chicken, nuggets, etc. They also have activity booklets and Wiki Stix for the kids to help keep them occupied. The bar seemed to be a bit of a scene - whether that is good or bad is up to you!

Though we just had drinks, the service was very efficient and not those kind of places where the attendants kept coming over to ask for refills, which i always like in a restaurant/bar.

Our visit was at lunch time, exellent location and beautiful place. I tried king Salmon plate, they other options specifically salads multiple options. I would recommend to visit and try at least one time

I checked in late. I can't believe how horrible the drinks they make -- majito is like fruit juice, pina colada tasted chemical, I give up in 10 min.

In July, 2009, I visited this restaurant on my final night in SF with 3 companions. We all attended the same financial conference. Upon arriving, we were seated in the bar area as the dining facility had not opened yet. There we were entertained by a gentleman playing some nice, soft, contemporary music on the piano. Once the dining facility opened, we were escorted to our table and placed our orders almost immediately. Our waiter was a little snotty, probably because we didn't have 3 piece suits on and didn't order any alcohol. Perhaps, he thought he was going to get stiffed on the tip. I ordered the Rib-eye steak (medium) and when it was delivered, I requested steak sauce. I thought our waiter was going to faint with my request. Much to his chagrin, he did go and get the requested steak sauce. While he was gone, I tried a piece of my Rib-eye and it was absolutely delicious. I didn't want to ruin the Rib-eye with the steak sauce, so I never used any. At the time, this Rib-eye was the best steak I ever had in my life. Today, it still ranks in the top three. My overall experience at the MKT Restaurant (within the Four Seasons) was wonderful even with the above mentioned with the waiter. We did tip him well, although I am sure he was just glad to be rid of us.

Classy ambiance setting with spectacular hints of views, the food was terrific. Great for business meetings!

To get seated with reservations took a while; service was ok..hard to find the server when we needed a spoon. The menu offers a variety of food that are different.

Loved the breakfast from the organic orange blossom honey yogurt on the fruit plate to the Crab Eggs Benedict. Service was very attentive and the coffee was great!!

Delicious food & drinks but the service from the entire bar staff was even better! Great spot for a snack, meal &/or drinks.

We tried breakfast this morning and while the hot tea was brewed at too high a temp causing it to become bitter, the lemon ricotta pancakes were VERY lemony, the potatoes were tender and flavorful and the corned beef hash had HUGE chunks of corned beef and was delicious (enough for two, really).

Excellent View ... Different breakfast options... We liked the view from the restaurant and they have good options for breakfast, however, we prefer the buffet style for breakfast,

We were not staying at the Four Seasons this time, but I wanted breakfast at MKT, the lovely restaurant, on the second floor. I have been dining there (breakfast only, IIRC) for years, starting back when the space was called Seasons. The room is always bright, and the décor lovely – then there is the excellent service, and the Lemon Ricotta Griddle Cakes!! I walked over to Market St, from the Parc 55, on this beautiful April morning, and crossed to the Four Seasons. A short elevator to the second floor lobby level, had me at the doors to MKT. I had dined there, since the renovation, and name change, but it had been awhile. It seemed that the bar area had been expanded, but then it did not look like the restaurant area had been shrunken? Maybe there was a small meeting room, or similar, that was incorporated into the bar, or maybe my memory was just playing tricks? The dining room was as lovely, as ever. Two walls are all glass, looking out over Market St below. The room is just beautiful, and on a sunny Spring morning, maybe even more so. As always, service was very efficient, and friendly, and I had my coffee and my menu quickly. OK, Griddle Cakes still on the menu – that was not difficult, and did not take very long at all – Lemon Ricotta Griddle Cakes, Orange Juice (they just have the best!) and Applewood-smoked bacon, crisp. I sat back, and just watched the morning light on Market St, and in a few moments, I had my breakfast. Everything was as I remembered it to be, and the Bacon was perfectly crisp, just as I had ordered – perfect. While not inexpensive, as breakfasts go, I find MKT at the Four Seasons to be a good “value.” From the dining room, to the excellent service, to the good food, prepared exactly as ordered, it was, what is that word? Oh yes, “Perfect.” One day, I will need to explore the menu a bit, and try, perhaps the Eggs Benedict, or Crab Benedict, but then, the Lemon Ricotta Griddle Cakes are just so very good.

The restaurant is located within the Four seasons hotel (lobby floor) and offers a American styled guest room. The interior is nice, but it is very noisy. The staff is friendly. The menu offers a nice selection from Oysters to lamb chops with acceptable price value. Somehow recommendable, but not overly fancy at all.

It is an intimate restaurant - great for a date or business meeting - The drinks are very local and fresh - The Food is incredible - The Five Dot Steak was everything I expected.

Casual but elegant atmosphere where they remember who you are and what you liked last time you were here. great bar area, too.

The menu was limited. We were told it had recently been changed. I was hoping for a little more choices but there was only a few appetizers, salads, with two steak choices and a number of fish plates. The wait staff was fabulous but the cost was higher than many other places in the area. For the cost, the view lacked and the environment were not worth the price.

I was really looking forward to this, but while the filet was good, it was not $62 good, and the side situation was a bit of a let-down too. The desert was fine. Just fine. That's not quite up to expectations for that price-tag.

Pricey fresh fishy in classy hotel restaurant with excellent service n By Karen the smiling and helpful wait wish, great service and food selection, ala Four Seasons

We went to four seasons and had breakfast. Nice restaurant, I would call simple but nice. We ordered 2 orange juice, 1 Apple juice, 1 pan cake, 1 crab Benedict and a coffee. Waiter asked if we want to have berries or bacon on side for the pan cake so we choose berries. Food came quickly and looked very good. Taste was good as well but very big portion, if you would order 2 portion you could not finish it. Was really wondering why don't have a set, like an american breakfasts which would include some cereal or fruits, yoghurt, egg dish or pan cake, now everything is individual order. Food quality was good even sadly my eggs was overcooked and not runny anymore which I would have liked. Price for all this was 120 US dollar which I thought was such a big joke, the most overpriced breakfast ever. If you don't have any Buffet is fine as I don't like it as well but you should give options or at least in size that guests can choose more, for that price we could have had an amazing lunch at the wharf. As I said good quality but the price by far too high and that's for only 2 pax, if I would go with family, you would be doubled most probably.

The restaurant is located at the Four Seasons on Market street. It has a nice ambience, great views and excellent service. The butternut squash soup was excellent. The white fish special with white beans and kale was good but a little mushy. I washed it down with an IPA though I wish I had tried one of the cocktails. We were seated near a window with nice views. The restaurant and bar area was lively.

I don't know what it is about MKT but, despite a nice time during breakfast very recently, I had completely forgotten about what I had just eaten there less than one hour later. Pity because it is a Four Seasons experience through and through (including prices: ouch !). I can only hope that a future return visit for a "main" meal will lève a more lasting impression ...

it's really an indulgence (i.e., not cheap) but I really like coming here for a quiet drink. you can actually have a conversation. and there are really comfortable seating areas. there's a nice cocktail menu, and all the mixed drinks are a good size. service is prompt and professional. I think the bar bites menu changes once in a while, but the charcuterie, beets, and cheese plate are all good choices. the location is a little hard to find, you enter the street-level lobby on Market and take an elevator to the main lobby. MKT is off the main lobby.

I would say only reason to eat there is if you are staying in this hotel and to lazy to walk out... Menu is not big, limited choice, Service is slow and poor.

Visited the bar for a cocktail on a Saturday evening. It was very busy and popular with a high level of energy. I decided to move to the restaurant for a light dinner. The restaurant is adjacent to the bar area and was also busy. I was somewhat disappointed by the dining experience. Not that I was expecting a stuffy dining room but MKT was a bit too casual for my taste. I didn't have the feeling the staff had time or treat guests in a way it would make them feel special. The service was rushed and there was no follow up by a supervisor/manager. It was in the small details that this was so disappointing along with the fact that I thought the food was bland. By looking at the bill one knows it's a FS restaurant but the experience is rather middle class.

Our server Ali was such a fantastic host. We got a great window seat with a cool backdrop view of the city at night. (The room was a tad on the cold side so bring a coat or shawl. The carrots salad had great depth of flavor. I had the sea bass with a crusted top. A delicious and a perfect combination of crunch a soft buttery texture. The veggies were great all around the table. My wife had the scallops - cooked perfectly. I've had brunch here a few times and the food is wonderful and the bloody Mary's are a treat. I always get outstanding service at this place. Pleasant, attentive, and gracious staff.

We had a truly awful experience and disgusting meal at MKT in Four Seasons San Francisco. I can't remember a restaurant in San Francisco doing such a bad job in recent memory. As we were seated, I noticed how dirty the floor was around the surrounding tables: crumbs and bits of refuse that were never cleaned up at any point. Another guest's key card which was just left there throughout the meal. I ordered a simple salad to start -- should have been easy enough, particularly for what it cost -- that arrived in a piping hot bowl fresh out of the dishwasher. The salad leaves actually wilted and began to took. Had to send it back. Then came the very long wait for the entrees. One showed up with plastic wrap mixed in (unsafe and sort of disgusting to think about). The other was lukewarm: a turkey burger made with a thin, cheap looking meat patty that you'd expect at a greasy spoon. At this point, we had to cut our losses, cancel everything, and go next door to Bluestem which was just fine. The server wasn't overtly hostile or rude, but he was disengaged and did a lousy job. Four Seasons itself has been on the decline recently. I wouldn't want to return here, and neither should you.

This is a solid choice with good selections. You could easily make a meal out of the small plates they have and several are good especially the charred octopus and any of their excellent salads. Loved the Tuna Bresaola. The main dishes are good as well. The service is very good.

Had a wonderful lunch in San Francisco today with my wife. The MKT Bar and Grill in the Four Seasons was great. Service was Four Seasons standard and the food was well presented and delicious. When looking for a great place in SFO for lunch, absolutely coming back.

Was there for breakfast only but definitely was wonderful. Service impeccable. Presentation of food is beautiful. My yogurt parfait was delicious and gorgeous. Coffee was great.

This was a great location for a business dinner. The windows room was a spectacular view of the city. The food was superb and so was the service.

Have defaulted to MKT many times on our visits to SF. The main reason has been the to die for Louis Salad. A mix of shrimp, crab , finely diced egg , gem lettuce , baby tomatoes and a delicious dressing Today 😳. What happened ?... salad was chunky bits of gem and radicchio ( I do not like the bitter taste of this at the best of times - these were chunks ). I scrambled to find chopped egg; crabmeat and shrimp sort of thrown on the top. A total disappointment and not what we would expect from this high end lunch venue. Sox need pulling up in a big way. Embarrassed because we had raved about this salad to our two guests. Egg on our faces.

Had dinner here with friends who reside in the Four Seasons condomium above the hotel and was pleasantly surprised by the meal. Service has always been good here but the food from the previous operation (before it became MKT) was only so-so. This time the food was excellent. We ordered the Market Greens salad for starters and the Fruit of the Sea dish, Alaskan Halibut and the Royal Sweet Scallops for the main dish. All was excellently prepared. The Market Greens salad had a dressing that was delicious and worked well with the greens. The Alaskan Halibut and the Royal Sweet Scallops were very tasty but the best dish was the Fruit of the Sea. This dish could easily be shared by 3 small eaters and 2 normal ones as the seafood ingredients consisting of mussels, clams, squid, white fish, salmon, shrimp were plentiful. And the smoked tomato-pepper broth was heavenly and worked very well with the fresh seafood ingredients. Highly recommended to try this dish if you're dining here. All in all, an excellent dining experience in a nice setting...

Attentive service, quiet and elegant dark woodwork setting. Lots of lunch choices, limited and expensive wine by the glass list. Excellent and quite filling Dungeness crab salad. Good for a couple or big group, albeit pricey.

After dinner, wife and I stopped in for a cocktail before heading to bed. The bartender was very nice and very efficient making classic cocktails. We enjoyed a corpse reviver number two and it was well-made. The bar had a nice feel to it and the other people there look like they are enjoying themselves as well.

the service was excellent and my meal was delicious. i ordered the chinese porriage with a glass of fresh juice for breakfast. the next day i have a quick lunch at the bar. i ordered beat salad. it was a great choice.

We had a very good dinner at the MKT Restaurant at the Four Seasons. This is an upscale place for food and drinks. Service was very good. We made our resrvations on open table. We ordered their tasty bread. i had their chicken,, my husband liked their short ribs. We had dessert.

Prepare to have a normal dinner, nothing special, pricey, but in a nice place. I wouldn't say it's a must go, but I would recommend sitting for a drink at the bar.

Amongst so many good restaurants in San Francisco, this one does not stand a chance. We went for lunch on a Sunday... The food was your average lunch spot, nothing stood out, service was very bland, the server did not smile, was not interested in following up and never came back to check if everything was OK. No thank you after we paid our bill, as if 20 % tip was not enough! We picked it because of the upscale ambience and quiet eating environment and that part it delivered. However, this place was in low demand to the point that no proper dining facility was open , for the entire hotel, on Sunday and Monday nights. They offer the restaurant menu in the lounge, where most seating was not at a table. Obviously, this hotel either does not place emphasis on dining, or they were having manpower shortage. I expect Four Seasons would maintain in house dining facility even though it does not make money for them.

We visited this restaurant just for breakfast but we found it good. The variety of choice was good and what we had was well-cooked. At peak times it can be busy - clearly it is popular for business meetings - but we would recommend it.

The service is brilliant and the servers know there menu and are only to pleased to answer any questions. The food is all excellent and normal sized portions not the usual massive ones. Is not ground level but set higher up on the four floor which makes a good view.

It is a perfect place for lunchtime, a lot of sunlight, table are far each other ideal for business discussion. Food is very good

We went there not knowing that the chef and name had changed but were not disappointed. Terrific fresh fish, fries, salads and burger, and the olives are not to be missed!

Beautiful views, terrific food, excellent service. They use ice cubes made of iced tea when serving iced tea so that when the ice melts the drink doesn't become watery: genius!

We are currently staying at the San Francisco hotel in room 1621 The stay has been very pleasant apart from the dining experience tonight. We made a reservation for 730pm in the restaurant as I am celebrating my 50th Birthday today, and my husband wanted it to be very special, he mentioned this on making the reservation. The restaurant was very busy when we arrived, the waitress came over and took our order, the meal was very nice, but unfortunately all the way through the meal all we could see was the waitress literally sprinting across the restaurant taking other people’s orders etc. We waited quite a while for our plates to be removed, then another long wait for the dessert card to appear, to which it did and was then left with us for 25 minuets. After watching the waitress still sprinting across the restaurant serving other customers we decided to just ask for the bill. She came with the bill, after we had signed we got up to leave and she just hurriedly rushed past and said enjoy the rest of our evening. I appreciate the restaurant was busy, and the waitress was busy, but I would have expected a little more attention payed to us. A ‘Happy Birthday’ would have been nice. We felt like we had been rushed, and all the meal was about was getting the bill payed and getting the next customer in. It hasn’t been a special night at all, and it has certainly put us off dining in the restaurant again.

$16 for ONE cocktail...I realize this is inside the Four Seasons, but it would have been nice to have an in hotel bar\restaurant where I could have eaten anything for under $25 and I dunno...had a beer without taking out a 2nd mortgage

I had lunch at MKT Restaurant located in the Four Seasons Hotel earlier this week. I had not been here in quite a while until eating here over the holidays. It was so good then, we wanted to go again. The service was outstanding and our waiter Jesus was super attentive and polite. The bus staff was excellent as well. We ordered the ahi tartare for an appetizer and house glass of wine. For our main course we ordered the MKT burger (with fries) and steak salad. All of the food dishes were excellent. We like this place and were seated by the window overlooking Market Street and the other buildings across the street. The restaurant is located on the 5th floor at the front side of the building. This place is great and we will go back.

The menu prices and your final tab may surprise you, but when you factor in dining at a Four Seasons hotel property, with windows overlooking downtown San Francisco and Market Street below, the price point makes sense. The food is (as one might expect) beautifully crafted in flavor and presentation/composition. Service is attentive and kind. But the best part of the experience: lemon ricotta griddle cakes - a must try! These were like soft clouds of butter + powdered sugar + lemon zest + light cheesy goodness. Heavenly!

We booked our reservation through Open Table in the late afternoon for the evening. We arrived on time and were seated immediately. The hostess was friendly and accommodating immediately as we'd brought a bottle of wine from our afternoon tour of Sonoma Valley. The server was at the table quickly with offering pre-dinner cocktails and then taking care of our wine. I ordered grilled octopus as a starter followed by the entrée size scallops for dinner. The Octopus was particularly good. I've had octopus in a variety of settings and the only place where it was better was on a fishing boat off Manila in the Philippines where we'd caught and cooked the octopus fresh. The scallops were also delicious and well prepared. For dessert the Nectarine Crisp was very good and went well with my glass of port to finish the meal. We enjoyed the table by the window allowing us to watch the nightlife on Market Street, and the activity of the building across the street. The server had, at some point, taken the time to learn our names from our reservation and throughout the dinner we were referred to by name. It was a nice touch that was noticed and appreciated.

Nice restaurant in downtown SF with great burgers, intersting and affordable wine list in a quiet setting although bar can get noisy. Service is discreet and attentive. Great deserts too. Recommended spot for an infomral dinner that won't fail to please.

The MKT is inside the Four Seasons on Market St. We we went for a sea food dinner and had Sword Fish, Halibut and Scallops. All were fine, but no different from any other premium establishment. I had hoped for a bit more adventure. The Elk Cove Pinot Gris was excellent, fruityand a good choice to complement our dishes. Despite a major trade show going on, with all local restaurants fully booked, service was prompt, but not rushed and certainly professional and courteous. All in all a good meal, very well prepared, but somewhat middle of the road.

We had a large group and the service was excellent. We enjoyed the lively atmosphere too. Specialty drinks were very good. Appetizers well prepared. Main dishes were enjoyed by all. Menu options are plentiful with varied choices including steak, seafood specialties, and pasta dishes. You won't be disappointed.

I went for breakfast. I had the ricotta pancakes, which were good. I also had the juice of the day which I really liked. Service was good. I would go back.

I have had many a wonderful breakfast at the old Seasons Restaurant at the San Francisco Four Seasons, but it had been a while - quite a while, as they were closed for 9 mos. for a complete remodel, and a name change to "MKT." I thought that I had gotten off the elevator on the wrong floor, but then there is only that one floor - Reservations and the restaurant. I was greeted by a completely new bar area, and held my breath. Normally, my wife's meetings at her corporate office begin with breakfast, so I am usually dining at the Four Seasons solo - but she was off, and meeting me there. The dining room is little changed, and that was a relief, as was the familiar menu. Many of the servers were the same, as from my last visit. I have always the dining room, with large windows overlooking Market Street, and that was totally unchanged. The Lemon Ricotta Griddle Cakes were the same, and that was great news. The Applewood Smoked Bacon was just as good, as before. My wife went with the Two Eggs, which included Ham (her choice), Potatoes and Wheat Toast. Everything was just as before, and that is great news. Coupled with very good coffee and freshly squeezed Orange Juice, and our breakfast was complete. While not inexpensive by any stretch, I have always found the breakfasts to be a good value, especially when coupled with great, attentive service and the elegance of the room. Everything was just perfect, and since my wife got to join me, I could not have asked for more.

Great Bar, great service, great food with easy access from hotel room. I dropped two credit cards in the bar and they were immediately returned the next day.

We had breakfast at MKT two mornings in late December 2017 as a family of five staying at the Four Seasons in SF. We ate here twice because we had a credit from our AMEX card, otherwise we most likely would have eaten elsewhere at least one of the days. Portions are large. You can get a variety of healthy options such as avocado toast, smoothies, etc. but also can order classic breakfast items like pancakes, waffles and eggs. The food was good but fairly pricey, which I guess is to be expected at a Four Seasons and also based upon portion size. Blueberry smoothie, avocado toast and the frittata were good. Omelette was very oily and came with no side. Granola was much larger than a serving. Again would have preferred smaller portions with better prices. Service was good, but not outstanding. The credit made it worth our while but would not go back without it.

We wanted to find a place that had really great drinks & food and where we could watch a college football game. There's an "official" sports bar a few blocks away, but their menu is not to my liking. We had been here for a drink before when it was called something else and arranged differently. Everything is new & improved and fantastic. Our bartender knew his stuff and if I hadn't been driving later, I definitely would have tried some of the delightful cocktails we saw being created. I had the fried green tomatoes & steak tartare- fantastic. The tartare was one of the best I've ever had.

Restaurant located inside the Four Seasons San Francisco. It’s on the lobby level. The restaurant is not over the top and appropriate to catch-up with friends or for breakfast business meeting. The service is quick and attentive; very Four Seasons. Enjoyed the breakfast. Will be back.

The soft-boiled egg and steel-cut oatmeal was excellent. The service and all of the little touches make it a place to remember.

During our recent visit to San Francisco, we took shelter from the cold weather in the Four Seasons. We went into the MKT Bar for afternoon tea - it was a great choice. They know how to make proper tea (not easy to find in the US) and the cakes were delicious. Despite the fact it was very busy due to a function in a private room off the bar, the service was attentive and friendly. A lovely break from all the sightseeing.

We had dinner twice and breakfast here three times and all very good. The first dinner we ordered 5 appetizers instead of entrees. All good but the hamachi tartar stands out as the best for us. The kimchee mussels also good and a nice change from the traditional white wine reduction which you can get anywhere. Its always nice to try something different even though we are creatures of habit and comfort foods. Octopus also good and spicy. The cheese plate and crab fritters good but familiar flavors. The other night we had a party of 8 and everyone liked what they they ordered but the flatbread pizza is simple and plain. Our friend really liked the scallops. The duck fat burger good but i couldnt tell a difference using duck fat but my friend said he noticed and enjoyed it. My wife had the ribeye and good but familiar. The first night I had for dessert prickly pear tart and i would recommend this. For me it had all the textures and flavors i enjoy in a meal but this had it all on one plate. There was creamy sour, sweet, fruity, and spicy along with crunchy, smooth and everything in between with the tarts crust. The breakfast we had all very good and simple. More on the lines of comfort foods but with a higher quality of ingredients. Although food was good to great its the service that always stands out for us and why we chose Four Seasons Hotels. The first night one of our daughters was sleepy and the staff brought a pillow for her to take a nap on the booth while I finished my dessert. Most restaurants would frown at this but I liked it. Cant say enough about the service. Our daughters also liked that the restaurant had a wall of windows facing Market St. which kept the kids busy looking outside.

Had breakfast here with friends. We saw several of our orders sitting for at least 10 minutes in the final prep window while waiting for the other items to be finished. We mentioned this to a bus person since waiter was no where to be found. Manager type came over and assured us our breakfast would be fresh. After another 10 minutes our food arrived, overall 35-40 minutes after ordering, not acceptable for breakfast. We we're comped beverages and chocolates at end of meal. Food was good but did not make up for chaos in kitchen and inattentive service.

We enjoyed a business breakfast meeting at MKT Restaurant. They are located in the Four Seasons Hotel on the lobby level and the service and quality of food is representative of what you would expect from a Four Seasons property. The service was outstanding. The poached eggs we ordered were perfect, as were the breakfast potatoes, ham and bacon. One unique element, when I ordered Iced Tea, they use frozen ice tea for the ice cubes so as they melt it does not water down your glass of ice tea. Highly recommend this place. Helpful hint: the lobby is actually on the fifth floor of the hotel.

The bar and restaurant staff are top notch, nothing short of what one expects at the Four Seasons. Views from the 5th floor are great through their large windows. We really enjoyed the service by Shaun; he had great wine recommendations Steak done to perfection, fresh seafood and unique dishes. Great atmosphere.

Beautiful setting with nice bar and TV and separate dining overlooking Market Street. Staff friendly and quick. 4 of us went here for Sunday 12 noon before theater and had nice selecion of lunch/brekafast items. Shrimp & grits with poached egg were very good, only thing was to me grits were a bit runny- I like mine firmer. Poke bowl very good as were Mahi Mahi tacos. Nice drink selection. Atmosphere very relaxing and quiet spot off the busy city streets, I'd like to go back to bar for drinks soon. Plus is walked down Market to Golden Gate in plenty of time for 2 pm play!

We had breakfast here five days running as a family whilst staying in the hotel. On reflection, I wish we had cut our losses after the first day. Whilst the hotel is excellent, the restaurant is not. First, the leadership of the restaurant seems poor - there is a lack of coordination which results in very erratic service and sometimes long wait times even to get a glass of water. Second, it is utterly impersonal unlike the rest of the hotel which puts real effort into tailoring the service to individual needs. There is little rapport with guests and we weren't recognised from one day to the next. Third, the food is nothing special - many simple diners offer better quality and greater variety. Fourth, whilst the servers are all polite, we regularly had to chase up missing items from our order. I would guess that the hotel doesn't run this restaurant and, if so, I suggest they get someone else in to do a better job!

This place is part of a large luxury hotel but creates the feel and ambience of a good stand alone Paris Brasserie style with an interesting menu of small and big bites! I stayed at the hotel and the breakfast was also great with a well targeted range of foods on the buffet and a great selection to order.

Been here for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner and even coffee. Also been here for some of their special brunches too. The staff are outstanding. The food is consistently great no matter what meal you are eating. The ambiance is relaxing and comfortable. This is a continued go to spot for us and I am always recommending to friends and visitors

Te service and setting were excellent as well as the wine list and the menu. Unfortunately after the meal I developed the worst possible stomach upset I experienced.......it was not food allergy nor poisoning, just discomfort, flatulence, etc . I assume they use MSG or other chemicals to enhance flavor.

I've been coming here for awhile and I've eaten breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner here and MKT is so consistent every single time. The service is outstanding and the ambiance equally great. Some of their highlights include awesome olive bread at lunch, MKT burger at brunch and Scallops at dinner. Totally recommend eating here whether you visit the city or live here.

The breakfast was one of the best ever, very fresh and lovely. The happy hour was very lively and a fun environment. The food was excellent for that as well. Very lovely staff.

We stayed at the Four Seasons for four nights and had breakfast here. We found the quality of the food to be good. Relative to the prices, the portions were rather small. Since we had a food credit during our stay I didn't mind the prices. I'm not sure I would come here otherwise.

Breakfast was terrific each morning, dinner was lovely, just as you would expect from a Four Seasons Hotel.

We've enjoyed the relative calm; the fireplace, and sitting at the bar being pampered with a full dinner. Excellent, different wine choices by the glass. We've never had anything we didn't thoroughly enjoy.

The atmosphere is open and friendly. Food is excellent. Tables near windows have nice views and lots of elbow room.

I have had many business meals but the service excellence here is very impressive. Food excellent. Pickle over powers the burger flavor a bit so maybe pickles on the side next time. Constant unobtrusive attention to all by the servers. All my guests liked what they had to eat and all 6 of us choice separate dishes.

The food was delicious but very overpriced. The restaurant is very nice. We would have gone back more if more reasonable in pricing.

I ordered a burger, and i was almost certain the burger from mcdonalds tasted better. The views from the private room are great and the service is excellent, but the food is pretty underwhelming !

We stayed at the Four Seasons Hotel for 4 days and ended up eating here a few times. Great food. Casual area that you can take your computer, work, and still grab a bite to eat. Less casual areas are separate for better dining experiences. 1. Food is good 2. Coffee is great. Pricey at $9-11 each.

Wed been here a few years ago and I really like what they’ve done with the space. It’s opened up and has more bar seating and more accessible generally speaking. We had a great Bloody Mary and snacks. We were headed somewhere else for lunch but a glimpse of the menu made me think this would have made an excellent option... next time we are in San Francisco.

We were here over the holidays (sorry for the super late review) and was determined to find a place to watch the Broncos game. The drinks were plentiful and strong. The food was cooked to perfection and we were even able to order off of the menu. Thank goodness because the octopus that we had was the best octopus I've ever had. It wasn't over cooked which is hard to do because the small ends tend to get singed no the middle; larger section is undercooked. Not at MKT. It was cooked just right from end to end. It was a massive portion also! I would gather it was almost as long as my forearm. I ordered the bacon burger with aioli and it was cooked on the rarer side as requested. I normally don't order burgers on the rare side but the meat was the quality that allowed for rare and it was tender and juicy! The bacon wasn't over cooked either and the aioli was the perfect portion of meat to sauce ratio. Not too much to overwhelm the main stage meat section, but enough to orchestrate the perfect symphony of burger flavors! MKT was so spot on that it only seemed natural to return. Three times... Luckily the same bartender was there all three times and was attentive, friendly, and even seemed interested in silly drunk-people chatter. ;) You know what I'm talking about, don't pretend you don't! Desert, spectacular. The cheesecake. All I can say is that I hope for everyone's sake is still there because it was also, no shocker, perfectly prepped as well. It was the dessert version of the Goldilocks beds. Not too hard, not too soft, just right. Even if you aren't staying at the hotel, I highly recommend it and the location is hard to beat!

Had the lemon ricotta pancakes which were excellent. Tasty texture and served with fruit and syrup. Service was excellent and the view was amazing

MKT is located in the Four Seasons Hotel. The dining room is beautiful. Had breakfast every morning. Food was delicious and large menu to choose from. Also ate here for their Thanksgiving dinner with our family. Rafael was our waiter and his service was wonderful. The food was FABULOUS! They also have a great bar! It is a great place for a drink, and they have food also.

This is my second visit this year. The first time, I had the vegan burger with fries and an Arnold Palmer. Today, I decided to try the Louis Salad and an Arnold Palmer. First, the service is fantastic. I chose sourdough. The ingredients are fresh, and portions are shareable. I like that the salad was served mixed in a bowl, lightly dressed to not overwhelm the crab -- interesting presentation. The Louis dressing had a little kick to it, perhaps a mild chili or pepper? I love the Arnold Palmer as the ice cubs are made of tea, and they add lemonade. Great ambiance! Music is in the background, but not so loud - you can enjoy a conversation. The views are decent. As a native San Franciscan, I enjoy looking at my city's remaining architecture. This is a great location for brunch or dinner. There is a fireplace a group can sit around.

My father always books this place whenever he comes to San Francisco. He always travels with an entourage of 10 or more. The management is always very accommodating. We have been coming here for over 5 years and will continue to visit. The service is always exceptional and we always feel at home here. The food is consistently excellent. The wine list is extensive and at a very fair price. I could not ask for more.

The food was delicious and service was superb. We were seated by the window on a clear night in San Francisco and the view of the Financial District and its lights added to the lovely ambience. Our waitress was very informative and attentive and took the time to explain the specials and certain items on the menu. The Cioppino and Maine Lobster were both excellent.

We had a super dinner for my friends birthday early on a Saturday evening. A fairly small menu, we both enjoyed a our choices, mine lobster Mac and cheese and my friend had scallops. The servers were helpful and attentive and yes it was perhaps a little more expensive but compared to what we are used to paying in the UK it was what we expected. Sometimes it does pay to get away from pizza and fries. We really enjoyed the well chilled wine and the choices offered. Added to that it looked a wonderful hotel to be staying at.

I have traveled all over the world and often stay at the Four Season when I can. We had such a great lunch, we went back and had dinner! Try and make an appointment if you can, you need to take the elevators up to the lobby (forth floor) then walk past the check in area. Tip: The bar is also a great place to hang out and grab a dink or snack.

We had drinks at the bar here. It does feel like a hotel bar, occupied by business people, so it's lacking in atmosphere. I was surprised at the prices for both food and drinks. In the end we didn't eat here as it just looked too overpriced. But $16 for a small glass of wine....seems a little steep.

Lovely service - as expected as we've eaten here many times before. Our table was not ready for our 5:30 reservation - hostess indicated it would be only a few minutes and offered us complimentary Champagne at the bar while we waited - I heard he tell the barman this was complimentary - we were fine, albeit it did take 30 minutes to be seated. Again, this is Thanksgiving everyone is relaxed - and we knew this was a Prix Fix $120 per meal - no surprises for the three of us. Offputting was the number of people who were wearing tracksuits, sweatshirts. It didn't seem like the Four Seasons - while there were many lovely people, neat jeans, nice shirts sweaters, many in jackets, there were others smoking in the men's room, didn't bother to flush toilets, thrown hand towels on the floor. Again, I don't mind it at the airport but even moderate restaurants have some dress code. Food was ok but limited buffet selections - not the same as in the past for Easter Brunch, Mother's Day, Thanksgiving - I usually don't study "the bill" while having a good time. Had a great waiter who'd been there for years. The Bad, next day while looking at the bill - we were charged for the complimentary Champagne. We had a good time, the service was good but later, we all commented the food wasn't that outstanding - nothing like we had experienced before but OK, we're paying for the Four Season's decor and service. Then my mind went to the crime scene in the men's room - and I thought, isn't this why I'm paying the extra $50 a head - a clean bathroom with other civil dinners who are wearing sox and don't smoke in the rest rooms.

The staff at the MKT restaurant are wonderful. They are patient and accommodating. The cheese plate is delightful and the Smokin' Negroni, while a tad sweet, is worth a try if you enjoy mezcal. They also make lemonade ice cubes that are great for Arnold Palmers. The prices are also reasonable for the level of ambiance and service.

It's fun to try new places and different food. I eat out a lot, but found a couple of items on the menu had to be Googled! Salad and main entree (salmon) were unbelievable--fresh, tasty, prepared perfectly. Side dishes were mushrooms (out of this world) and mashed potatoes (they were an odd consistency but tasty) The wine was amazing and the service outstanding. When it came to dessert, choices were a bit odd-- I chose a combo of gelatin-ish something, an iced thingy, powdered sugar and angel food cake. Odd, but OK- not worth the $ I'm sure. Oh, and the view is fun because you are five floors above street level. The setting is modern and gorgeous.

The food at MKT was good and the service was excellent. We had breakfast and lunch there while at the Four Seasons.

Good service. Interesting and delicious food. My son liked the duck fat burger and my husband and I enjoyed the Kimchi steamed mussels with pork belly. The desert of Salted Caramel and chocolate mousse was heavenly good!

It took them half an hour to deliver an omelette for my breakfast which caused me to be late for my meeting. Otherwise try the swordfish with peas.

Did the "Bed and Breakfast" at the Four Seasons Hotel.. the Breakfast was a key reason to do so. Great menu, great service in a relaxed, scenic atmosphere..

I was staying at Four Seasons and wanted to give this restaurant a try, hence the reservation for me and my mother was made through the hotel's Concierge. Our server was an exceptionally sweet lady, and did make a few recommendations and attended to our needs. The dishes, the fish and scallops, were well done and delicious! Compliments to the chef and the team. As the restaurant is located right beside the hotel bar, it can get a bit noisy towards the later part of the week. If you like to sit at a quiet location, ask or request during booking. :)

Inside the Four Seasons, MKT offers the service and quality we have come to expect. We were seated near the window with a panoramic view of the city. The wines-by-the-glass list is modest with some interesting finds. The steak frites-cooked to the recommended medium rare, was beautifully seasoned and the crispy fries properly, lightly salted. The vegan noodle and vegetable salad with tofu had a delicious and light peanut dressing-it was a satisfying meal. Do try the focaccia bread-served room temperature it has a salty and rosemary crust that is fragrant. We did not have room for dessert but found the cappuccino bold, hot and frothy-maybe the best in San Francisco.

Very nice bar and bartenders; typical menu for a hotel restaurant; modern, trendy, nice service. Excellent for lunch.

Ordered a very expensive burger at lunch well done and received an average sized burger done very rare. French fry portions small and not very good. Radically over priced and poor food preparation.

We dined here for New Year's Day Brunch as a special occasion. Our reservations were for 7 people, but when we arrived, they wanted to put us at 2 tables. We opted to wait for the table we had reserved, which ended up being a 30 minute wait! Once we were seated, we were only offered a lunch menu. We though we were having brunch, but we were hungry at this point and just went with it. When we asked about gluten-free options, our waiter said "we have steamed vegetables or anything without bread". Really? Four Seasons? When our orders arrived, 1 was wrong and 2 others arrived a good 15 minutes after the others. That being said, when the correct food was delivered, it was delicious, but hardly worth the aggravation.

Loved it, a bit pricey but overall it was great. The Veuve Clicquot was 30 a glass. Way overpriced, you can get a bottle for 56 dollars. That was ridiculous. Stick with the Prosecco at 14.dollars a glass. The burger was fine, chicken sliders great, the rigatoni was fine. The Foie Gras was awesome but they are stingy on the crostini. Overall, cool place to hang out and relax and have a good conversation with friends. Dessert was great too.

What you would expect of a Four Seasons, though I would say the service was above average for the FS's. The ambience, meal preparation was very well done, There was nothing to complain or to make suggestions. Anyone would have a great experience.

This time we had a reservation for 4. It was a birthday celebration dinner while we were in town for a few days. Two of us ordered the scallops entree and the other 2 ordered the NY Strip meals. Delicious wines by the glass. Attentive service, beautiful home and restaurant with great window views of the stores downtown. We ordered dessert, too, and they brought the birthday celebrant a dessert, too. Very nice and we liked it again. There were couples, groups and families throughout the restaurant while we were there.

Located within the fancy 4 season hotel , this restaurent is located at the lobby , a bar area ( very crowded in evening ) opened into the restaurent . Open kitchen , modern decor , good view of market street . We stayed in the hotel so we have breakfast there ( ok menu , the usual BF food , congee is offered only asian item ). The wait staff is efficient and polite. I looked at the lunch and dinner menu , not too exciting and not extensive. Wine menu is limited too . My impression is 4 season is not trying to compete with other fine dining in the vicinity ( many ) This is convenient place for hotel guest , but not a place people will seek out for good food . ( wonder if the hotel runs it or sunlet out like the health club there )

Took a customer here for dinner last night. There were 4 of us and two of us started at the bar which was 3 deep due to a conference in town. Crazy busy but I guess thats good. Drinks were reasonably priced and good. Got to our table on time and unfortunately despite the fact that this place has a great view to the north and tables were empty during our meal they would not seat us there. Its like they were holding them for someone special (not us). The service was relaxed to slow. Not sure who our waiter even was, as there were 4-5 people coming to the table. Appetizer was OK despite being the "one" they said to get. Drinks took nearly 20 min. I got the dry aged bone in NY strip and it was bad. Very fatty, like a Ribeye or worse. Not much meat. Desert was different but ok. Not an inexpensive meal. We won't be back.

Delighful bussers Lianne and Jie remembered us by name every day, and went out of their way to serve us fresh steaming hot coffee. Servers Joel and Tonya were great, too.

Enjoyed a truly delicious meal here with family. Raffe our waiter was so attentive from the outset ensuring we enjoyed our experience. We ate a selection of food from the menu and we each enjoyed our choices. The surroundings are plush and the views into market street and across the city rooftops is lovely. Considering it is located in the four seasons the meal was quite reasonable on par with other high end restaurants in SF. However Raffe made the experience for us.

First off, the wait staffs are awesome but the food is awful! It's such a shame for a high end place like this to serve the kind of terrible food I experienced. I attended a party which offered a three-course meal. I chose octopus salad, ribeye steak and pear crisp. The octopus was tender but not fresh and way too salty. The ribeye steak had no marbles at all and way overcooked (asked for medium but got very well-done) making the meat tough to chew. I looked around the table and found the same issues across the board. The dessert was OK but non-memorable. The only items worth mentioning are the hors d'oeuvres served before meals. I guess this would be a better destination for the bar visit but not a good place to have a nice dinner.

We spent a lovely hour plus at Brunch last Saturday morning celebrating my Mother's 100th birthday! She couldn't have been happier with the attentive gracious service and lovely surroundings, all in woods, metals, leather and subdued fabrics. We were seated at once upon arrival, next to the window overlooking Market Street. The Brunch Menu had many and varied selections. Two of us chose the large shrimp and grits bowl, which was absolutely delicious with a savory delicate sauce. The other choice was a salad of fresh crisp lettuce and baked salmon that I was told was superb. Then as a surprise, we were given a plate of fresh fruits and chocolates with the inscription in CHOCOLATE "Happy 100th Birthday"! gratis. For a special event or if you'd like to make some special memories, we would like very much to recommend MKT Restaurant be on your list of San Francisco eateries!

Serves a very good breakfast ,fabulous service and nice variety of breakfast breads, muffins ,pancakes are excellent. Well laid out airy restaurant with a street view from the 2nd floor.

There are many better restaurants in SF...but this is fine if you are in a rush and don't have time to go outside hotel.

Very busy restaurants mostly caterers for customers from outside and not hotel guest or residence. Not a good place for hotel guest as their no personal service or privacy as most customers are off from the street. The restaurants must have dedicated area for hotel guest and offer more of a personal service, guest like us spending around $ 4000 a night in room deserve better service and attention rather coming to an restaurant which is like a market. Not impressed

We were looking for a place to have lunch prior to a Sunday Matinee at the Golden Gate Theatre. We saw the MKT was highly rated and the food didn't disappoint. I had the MKT burger that was extraordinary. My wife had the crab salad that she said was excellent as well and they didn't skimp on the crab. The price was pretty outrageous even for downtown San Francisco, but the food didn't disappoint. A good place to go on your expense account!

Loved the view and any dishes with crab in them. Also the ice tea has frozen tea ice cubes..nice touch

Loved the restaurant....food was great and so was the service! Everything on the menu is good. Try it all!

I had eaten at the predecessor restaurant at the Four Seasons and loved it. The breakfast at MKT, however, left a lot to be desired. I tried the crab omelet that I found lackluster. The fresh squeezed juice tasted like a commercially bottled juice. One piece of the wheat toast was burned, which was sort of ok because the bread was undistinguished in the land of so many wonderful artisan bread bakers and why waste calories when I could get better at La Boulange or other. And it was pricey. Omelet, oj and tea: $43. Service was nice; they kindly found a Mandarin speaker for guests in need. Decor is fine. Nice Market St. view. But it could be so much more.
The old bay shrimp Louie salad
Have eaten here many times through the years, Name change? Went for lunch…some difficulty making a lunch reservation. The only person answering the phone is also the hostess…ineffeciant! Usually order the bay shrimp Louie. Salad. It has changed to crab Louie. Different flavor and texture. Good, but not as good as with shrimp. Service was good overall with slight level of inattention . No way to request more bread after initial serving. Everything seemed rushed. Got quite noisy during the peak of the lunch hour. Value for price is fair.
