It was very good and large portions. A very kind of Northeast Philly upscale atmosphere and friendly service. Nothing special but good foid.

Please do not be fooled by its location, this restaurant is a hidden gem in the heart of Northeast Philadelphia! The restaurant itself is gorgeous and the staff is professional and very friendly. The food is consistently delicious, every meal I've ever had the pleasure of eating there has been wonderful. It's perfect for dinner or just drinks and dessert. Definitely give this place a try and it'll become your go-to spot.

Great outside dining. Food amazing. Salads were fresh. Desserts delicious. Service perfect. Will go back again, for sure.

This restaurant is discriminatory. They intentionally place non-white customers at tables near the door, noisy and high traffic corner of the restaurant. Here was our experience. When we walked into the restaurant at around 6:00pm, the restaurant was nearly empty. The hostess showed us a table by the entry door. I pointed to one of the tables inside the nearly empty restaurant and asked to be seated there, The hostess refused and said that all tables were booked. Giving her the benefit of the doubt, we took the table by the door, Halfway into our dinner, we noticed a pattern: white customers were given tables inside the restaurant, while a non-white family was given a table next to ours. The restaurant wasn't quickly filled either, In fact, by the time when we finished our dinner, the restaurant was still 1/2 empty. Feeling discriminated and disrespected, I wrote a complaint note on their customer survey card, and indicated that I would have to deduct tips as a way to express our displeasure with their service. What happened next was totally unexpected. The owner of the restaurant came out and demanded that we give tips. His explanation of those empty tables inside the restaurant was even more ridiculous: he said that some of the empty tables were reserved weeks ago, and others were taken by people who sat outside of restaurant. I didn't understand that statement. There was nobody sitting outside when we entered the restaurant. And there was nobody sitting outside of the restaurant when we left. It was clear to me that the restaurant has a discriminatory policy in place. Customers beware!

What a surprise this was. From the outside you would never expect a fine restaurant that is tastefully decorated yet simple inside. The dining area was not overly large and while a little loud (especially because there was a party of 8 with little ones who were allowed to scream) and nicely lighted. The bar area was cozy and if it was not pouring we would have ventured to PSquare just for a peek (maybe next time). The food was very good (my sister commented that it was the best lobster ravioli she ever had) but on the expensive side. Everything was beautifully presented. Standouts were the watermelon salad and Kobe meatballs. Portion sizes were fine. The only cons would have to be the asparagus risotto which was flavorless and watery (not creamy like it should be plus I had to use salt which I never use) and the parking (or lack of it) as there is no lot so you need to park on the street. Happy to have finally tried Macaroni`s. It's a little gem amid a most unassuming neighborhood.

Good service, good food.... They were relatively busy when we arrived for our reservation and then they progressed to become busier... But still attentive ... Good dinner

I go here often. Always enjoy the food, drinks, and atmosphere. Only problem is it can get pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for! If you're prepared to spend a few dollars, you'll have a great time!

Macaroni’s What you need to know Price- $270 with tip. To include dinner for four, two apps split, entries, no deserts, two glasses of wine each for three persons. Food- Italian, we think the best food of any restaurant with out going in town. Great pastas, gnocchi, fish, meat right thru desserts. A typical, very nice Italian menu, easy to find something enjoyable Ambiance- large open area, also a nice bar area you can eat in, feel hip, noisy, slightly dark, feels comfortable for dinner. Service- typically great, off the last time we visited. Our experience- we come here for special evenings with friends and family or if we want a very good meal. That’s been years. This evening the food was tops. They nailed all four entries. Forgiving the service, wonderful evening.

Terrible!!! Went on a Saturday night with my husband and another couple. Made reservations two weeks earlier. We needed the dining room. My husband recently had back surgery cannot sit on a high top. When we got there they sat us in the bar area on a high top. The table was a pub table designed for two people. What an uncomfortable dinner. We could not wait to leave. There was no room to eat. Our plates were actually touching each others. Also my husband could not sit on the high top. Very uncomfortable. When I brought this up to the hostess she just basically shrugged her shoulders. We did a fast dinner no apps or desert. We went elsewhere after for more drinks. Today I contacted the restaurant after my email was not answered. I spoke to a Dave who said he was the owner. He was rude and condescending. Did not care about my concerns. He just kept going on about how they seat people etc. I told him it was ver uncomfortable for four people to be at a table meant for two. I told him I am more comfortable at Mcdonald’s He said he was insulted and hung up on me. So much for caring about customers. I called back to finish the conversation and got a giggly girl that made no sense, then she hu g up on me. What an unprofessional place. I will never go back and will tell everyone about my experience. The food is average at best. Don’t waste your time there

Excellent food, outdoor seating was exceptional and very romantic. Malbec wine was top notch as was every Italian type food delivered. Service great.

If you are looking for a center city style restaurant in NE Phila, this is where you want to go. There is nothing like it in the area. It is a bit hard to find, as it sits across the street from BVM on Old Bustleton Ave, and the sign is poorly lit. The food is good but the pricing is simply crazy. I may go back for a drink or an appetizer, but I can not get myself to pay CC pricing in NE Phila for Average food. Sorry to be so critical, but charging $30.00 for an entree and $12 for a drink is nuts in this part of the city. But if you need a "special" place and cant make it out of the NE, then this is you best bet...just bring you bigger wallet. Service was great and the folks were very nice.

It's been more than 20 years since we've eaten at Macaroni's but it was just as remember it. Delicious, quality food and great service. Sorry it took so long to return.

Food was amazing! loved the outdoor deck and indoor/outdoor bar, too. Can't wait to visit again soon. Can't wait to try some apps next time. Great atmosphere all around

Macaroni’s What you need to know Price- $120 before tip, to include several glasses of wine, two apps, two entries and one desert split. Food- high quality Italian cuisine. Lovely menu with many choices that look wonderful. Always specials. The Bronzino was wonderful and the pasta in brown butter and thyme was memorable. Difficult to have a bad meal here. Ambiance- small venue, one dining room with perhaps ten tables and a bar area with high top seating. Always busy and always loud. Feels upscale a bit like being in town and enjoyable. Service- like the food, always professional and attentive. Our experience- one of the few actual good restaurants in our area. We enjoy every time, the food is always very good and we think at a fair price. One of our two go to places.

Several weeks ago we attended a surprise party which was held at this restaurant. Despite having to serve a large crowd all at once, the staff seemed to handle it effortlessly. Large portions were delicious and presented beautifully. I particularly enjoyed the salad’s dressing Also, their roasted peppers were yummy. Many years ago I lived in this area. Had this restaurant been there while I was growing up it would have been tough to move away.

Just great! At first I was at first a little hesitant to make the reservation. I did'nt exactly know why? Maybe the name?? Not sure, but my good long time friend suggested we try it for my wifes birthday. I ordered a dozen roses to be delivered and the roses and staff greeting set the mood for the night. The staff was professional and everybody's meal was the talk of the table come desert time. The Salmon special was great. The Wild Boar was a hit and plentyful for two of my guests. They could'nt say enough about it. Yes, I tried it, and it will be in front of me next time. If your in the area, you won't be let down or feel hungry when you leave. Pricey some would say, yet some say that about fast food too. The only low performer was the Caesar Salad. I like dark Romaine leaves.Everybody had extreamly light. They should revisit how to make a fresh Caesar dressing with all its accoutrements. Please don't let the Ceasar Salad review deter you from discovering this little secret.

Service was good. The place itself is nice enough, but the food was just ok. Definitely a bit pricey for NE Philly. We ate here upon the recommendation of a friend. Next time I'm in town, I'll most likely go to a South Philly restaurant for Italian.

We had a reservation for two on a Saturday night. When we arrived, we were told it would be a few minutes. Looking into the dining room, we saw 4 two top open tables. The bar area was jammed. After about ten minutes a two top in the bar area opened up and the hostess began to take us to the bar table. I told her we requested standard seating on open table and that we did not want to sit in the bar area, but rather the dining room. She replied that they do not see table requests on open table and that the dining room tables are for bigger parties. I told the hostess that I was looking at 4 open tables for 2 in the dining room. The other hostess then told her to seat us in the dining room. Eventually the other 3 tables for two were also filled. The young hostess with the dark hair should not be working the front of the house. Very unprofessional in appearance and attitude. She acted like she was doing us a favor. Wondering if she is family to the owner. Otherwise, food and service were very good. It is also loud in the bar and dining room.

Macaroni's caters to an older and/or more affluent crowd. You won't see a lot of young adults here. But it is not a geriatric crowd either. Average diner age is probably 45-50. The atmosphere is nice, quiet and people look like they have a lot of money. Tables are spaced well. The food is good. But... My French Martini was watered down. ( really? The first drink? ) ( no buzz for me.). One of the specials was already out and it was only 7. The waiter was courteous but did not get to our table very much. Service was slow and they seemed understaffed. Took almost 20 minutes for the staff to come back for the check Hubby had to walk it to the front to get attention. I have been here on other nights. I might forego it on the weekend. My other experiences were better. Food is good and worth the money. Plan to spend about 75$ a couple if you are drinking too.

I had heard some good things about Macaroni's and with today being Father's Day, thought I'd treat hubby and give it a try. I'm sorry I wasted the money. Let's start with the prices....very steep! For three of us, the bill came to $118.00! And that was with only two cocktails and no dessert!! They offer nothing with the entrees - every plate of food is priced separately! Not even a salad! The do bring a few pieces of bread out with some roasted peppers that are quite spicy (if you're like me and have to watch the spicy / hot stuff, you can forget this!) My husband had Chicken Parm, which he said was "ok"... my son had pasta that was supposed to have pancetta and peas...no pancetta to be found. I had farfalle Caprese - fancy name for what I received, which was watery pasta, diced tomatoes and two globs of cheese. Even our waiter, Joey, seemed to forget about us until it was check time - all of the other service in between was done by three or four other servers. It wasn't busy at all in there, so I didn't understand that. The curtains by our table were dirty and the seats were stained. Not at all what I was expecting. Next time, I'll go to Kelly's Seafood, spend less and have a much better experience.

I have been in this restaurant many times and I can say that I never had a bad meal or bad service.Great Italian cuisine with excellent well stocked bar.In the back there is a gorgeous sport bar with big screen tv where you can have one of the many pizzas made to your order.

The outdoor bar and patio and a welcome novelty in the far northeast, and perfect weather added to the evening. The food was just ok... The grilled romaine was the only dish we had that was above average. The shrimp and grits tasted like butter and not much else sorely lacking any kick, although the three shrimp were large and well prepared . The wood oven pizza was good, even though we're petty sure ours was held in a warming oven of some sort..it was served before our appetizers so we sent it back, and when we finally got it for the second time 1/2 hour later it was barely warm. The service was erratic... Some staff really good and others not. If I we're having a full dinner and spending real money I would have been displeased. But, for a group of friends to hang out, it was fine.

The Atmosphere here is amazing, clean, food was fresh. Craft Beer selection was great. Service was a little slow, would definitely recommend this for a romantic night, or out with a group of friends

When I go to an Italian restaurant, I look for my favorite foods: Veal cutlet & Shrimp scampi. At Macaronis, I was able to get both. The Scampi bread appetizer was fantastic. Large pieces of Italian bread in a perfect scampi sauce, with 3 large succulent shrimp. For my entree, the breaded veal was delicious. The side of spaghetti pomadora was equally good.

This restaurant has really changed over the years and with all the renovations comes more overhead and that is passed on to the consumer. The food is good but just plan on spending $$$ when dining here. Recently my friend and I stopped in for drinks b/c we wanted to check out their new patio (which is gorgeous by the way) however the expenses are passed on to the consumer. I don't mind paying money for something good but offer good bang for your buck too. I ordered a call vodka and club soda drink- served in one of the tiniest glasses I've ever seen in a restaurant- drink was 10.00... Gone in 3 sips... For the prices they charge you get nothing. Sadly its not worth the money.

We have been dining at Macaroni's for better than ten years. We have never in all of our years had a bad meal. It does not matter what you order the food is going to be amazing.

Our son-in-law wanted to celebrate our daughter's 40th birthday party. He picked Macaroni's since it was a place they enjoyed and it would surprise her when 40 of here friends were waiting for her. Macaroni's does NOT have a separate room for affairs and it was unfortunate that the NCAA tournament semi-finals was being played as everyone was in the P-square lounge where our daughter's birthday celebration was occurring. We had an open bar for 4 hours and the bar bill was over 4K. If it had been raining when they brought out the food we would have been in trouble. Even so the wind was wiping and down right cold and they refused to bring out heat lamps.. The Salmon was good how ever as you sat outside it chilled quickly, the chicken parm was good, the veal was so thin and so breaded and so tough I thought I was eating shoe leather. I would not recommend this place for a birthday party unless it was summer or mid fall. Drinks are over priced IMO. What food I ate was AAAAHHHHH but when I saw what my son-in-law was paying I thought it was VERY OVER PRICED

Our family of three went to dinner here during a visit to Sesame Place. It was a calm, quiet respite from the crowded, hot park. Our servier, Luciane, was a gem! She was sweet and patient with our 6 year old, and had great suggestions on the menu. Easy to get to from SpringHill Suites. They didn't take a reservation when we called but we didn't have to wait on a Friday night at peak dinner time.

I'll start with the espresso and work backward! Delicious meal and great end to a pleasant evening of delcious and fresh house green salad, risotto prepared specially for me with fresh vegetables and no cheese! Our dinner colleagues devoured their seafood, steaks and cioppino. Everything seemed made to order and was served HOT. The managers and servers offered the right attention at the right time and explained the dishes on the menu with great care. The noise from the bar echoed through the dining room, but signs of life in a neighborhood "bistro" make this a vibrant and fun spot for really well-prepared dishes with plentiful portions. Buon Appetito! Molto grande ospitalità!

Had dinner there with a girlfriend. Food was good and home made pasta was very good as you would expect. Service was also good. Had an intimate atmosphere so easy to have good conversation. Very enjoyable dinner!

Made a reservation on a Thursday night for my husband and me. We started the meal with their complimentary roasted peppers soaked in olive oil and seasonings with bread; amazing! We ordered meatballs and fried mozzarella as appetizers; also highly recommend. My husband ordered chicken parm, I got seafood over linguine. I’ve had their chicken parm in the past and it’s delicious! As for the seafood linguine, I was expecting a thick red sauce (like over their pasta) but instead got a watered down red soupy consistency. The seafood was still good and fresh, just not what I expected. After dinner, we sat outside at P squared for drinks and dessert. Great bar atmosphere! Will definitely return in the future!

My girlfriends and I went here for a girls night out. Let me tell you, this place was amazing. The bartenders are social, fun and inviting. Their servers are very knowledgeable. They know their product, they know their wine recommendations, were on point the whole night and made us feel welcome. We started with the calamari, the sausage spinach and beans, and the eggplant stack.. DELICIOUS! I had the Filet special with the crab meat as my entree... out of this world! Must try! Add the shrimp to this dish too! Highly recommend the creme brulee cake for dessert. We will definitely be back. Everyone was a great asset to the Macaronis team.

Experience exceeded expectations. Dined with a group for a celebration and everyone's comments were positive. Highlights were the appetizers...well prepared, generous and artistically presented. For entrees, be sure to ask questions... one dish was unexpectedly and exceedingly spiced, the level of fire making it almost inedible. A special dish for that evening had too much going on, masking the delicacy of the fish. Pasta sauces full-bodied and balanced. Excellent wine list. Excellent service. Would definitely return.

We went to dinner here for my mother's birthday. The food was just ok and extremely small portions were served with lots of pasta. The prices are astronomical for the quality of the food. I will never go here again.

I didn't expect to find such fine, Italian dining in the heart of NE Philadelphia. The ambiance is simple elegance yet comfortable. The service is very good. The food was good from appetizers through dessert. Don't be fooled by the surrounding neighborhood, this place is a gem.

We had a wonderful time as a family on my wife's birthday at this restaurant! It was during the week and we didn't make a reservation. But we got a table right away, although there were quite a lot of people there. We had a delicious dinner and the service was great. The prices were a little higher than in the other places in the area, but everything was great and it was worth it. Highly recommend this place!

First time here and we were impressed with both the meal and the service. The place is small but very welcoming. We were greeted with crusty bread and peppers. We ordered a beet salad and the cantaloupe salad, which was the special, Both were amazing, beautiful presentation, and delicious. The filet was cooked perfectly, although I thought the demi glaze was a bit overpowering. It came with asparagus and mashed potatoes, very generous portions and tasted great. We will make this our "go to" for speicial occasions.

We were there on Saturday night for dinner with friends. We had drinks 1st at the fabulous outside area. It was so crowded that it actually was a little too loud for us to talk. Dinner inside which was delicious from start to finish. Looking forward to our next visit.

1st impression- 1st visit- Hostess wanted to send us away because we didn't have reservations. We were unaware there was a great patio in the back and had we known it was there we would have headed there in the first place. Food was very good, but a bit pricey.

This Northeast Philadelphia restaurant serves very good authentic Italian food. Service is very good. It has an amazingly upscale modern atmosphere considering its location. I had lamb chops which at $30.00 were very good. Prices are a bit on the high side and the place can get a bit noisy, which prevented an excellent rating.

Client suggested we try this place wow food totally wow delicious small dining area which is great in Italian place cuz that makes it all the better we do not actually go into the bar area but we peaked in they have an outside patio bar area totally rocking if I was going to be in the area longer or if I was a local it would probably be one of my favorite places to go, the food is a little bit pricey for the average person but so worth it I had to filet with crab last night coworkers diners four of us we're just all wonderful our server spot on great place

Been coming for years. Food & service is great. Atmosphere is fabulous especially the bar and courtyard.

The food here is amazing! Although it is on the expensive side, the food is worth it. The layout makes the restaurant feel intimate and the modern decor almost makes you forget that your in the northeast.

First time being here. Decided to check this place out. Love it. Nice and neat atmosphere. Very clean. Great service. Food is sooo delicious. I tried Limoncello Martini. My husband tried authentic beer. Drinks are great. Wow! Definitely coming back.

My wife and I ate here the night before a half marathon in the area. There were many large tables set up so my expectatiion was that service might be uneven. As it turned out we had a very nice meal and the service was attentive and first rate. Our server John was very good and friendly. Have the eggplant stack appetizer, it's excellent. They will also split salads for two as well which allowed us to have a three course meal. My wife had penne with red sauce and I had lobster ravioli which were both good. Nicely decorated and clean. A nice family restaurant.

Chicken Parm is scrumptious! Wait staff is mediocre. Eventhough the food is a bit overpriced, it is delicious.

My wife worked around the corner from Macaroni,s for years but it was never on my radar. I made a reservation for our anniversary because i wanted to see what the outside area called P-square was like, turns out it is a beautiful bar and out side dining area. because it was a warm night we ate inside .It was a very nice dining room and bar also inside. We were served by one of the owners. Now onto the food, FANTASTIC A little pricey but well worth it. I am pretty sure I will be back this weekend!!!

The complimentary peppers they give you with the bread are fantastic. The bread was just so so. I had the filet topped with crab meat in their basil cream sauce. Really delicious. My boyfriend had the Chicken Florentine, one of his favorites. The only disappointment was dessert. I ordered chocolate cake and they didn't have the one listed on the menu. What they described, I wasn't interested in. Other than that, a good dinner.

I have eaten here twice now. The food is good and service also was good. My wife says the tiramasu is the best she ever had. There is also a cool outside bar area. It is a little pricey also.

My husband and I have recently been frequently dining @ P2 Sqaure- the patio outback. The space is gorgeous and very relaxing- you would never know you are in the NE. We go on Sunday's to wind down our weekend. We always have the same bartender- she is nice but a little spacey- you have to ask her for everything. However they a wood fired pizza oven and this is what brings us back- the pizza is soo good- its small, 6 slices to a pie and prices vary 12-18 per pie. We usually get a pizza and a few apps, and few drinks- looking at easily $100.00- its not cheap here for sure but you are paying for the environment.

Food is so so and the price is pretty steep. Who ever heard of an Italian restaurant serving mashed potatoes?

Was exceptional!!! Would recommend getting reservations because I didn't have them and ended up eating at the bar since no tables were available. Bread and peppers were fresh and perked up our palates before dinner. Filet was delicious and tender. Bartender was friendly and always available. Back bar was on the cool side so being a sweater if no tables available. Several large family parties were seated. Was a great experience and look forward to next visit.

It was a Tuesday night after labor day. The place was very quiet. However it wasnt due to the food. All 4 of us had veal dishes. They were delicious. Wait staff was attentive. The decor very nice. Would definitely go back.

Went for Valentines Day food was great atmosphere is awesome. My girlfriend knew of this place from growing up in the area and it's been one of my favorite places.

Staying at the nearby Four Points hotel, I had to run to the Post Office. With a storm coming in, I wanted to find a place where I could relax and ride out the bad weather and have a good meal. Fortunately, my GPS indicated this was close by and after a quick check on my phone for reviews, I decided to give it a try. I was seated (without a reservation) by a friendly hostess. The young waiter immediately offered me a drink and a menu, but did not rush me to make a choice. After he brought me a cocktail, he detailed the specials that evening. I chose one of the special salads: figs and radishes over fresh greens and whipped goat cheese, dressed with a honey orange vinaigrette. Heavenly! For dinner I opted for the Lamb Gnocchi. This dish was sooooo good! Light and tender gnocchi in a broth-like sauce full of tender lamb, finished with pea shoots and shards of cheese on top. I sopped up the sauce with the hearty bread served earlier. I was too full to enjoy dessert, but opted to take a tiramisu back to my hotel. In fact, I just finished that as I sipped some tea in my room. Yes, it was pricey, but worth every penny! Ambience was pleasant, though slightly dark inside - which may have been on account of the bad weather. There was a large party and a few couples in the dining room and the bar was getting busy. I am glad that I chose this over the other less expensive options near the hotel. I will return here when my travels bring me to NE Philly again! Highly recommend it. Great meal, excellent service, attentive staff. (It did not hurt that the waiters all called me Miss, instead of the dreaded Ma'am... When you get to a certain age, this is hugely appreciated!)

Two couples visited shortly after noon for lunch. The dining room was dark, cold and empty of any other people. We were seated and quite uncomfortable because of the very cold temperature in the room. We asked the waiter if we could be provided with heat and he would not make any changes, saying, without asking anyone, that he could not increase the heat because somewhere it was set for 70 degrees. The waiter, who was friendly and did get a tip, but slightly less than I usually leave, then began by telling us that we could not order any pizza because they had a large group of people outside and they were having pizza. That eliminated half of the menu and some of us went there for pizza. My wife was served a glass of iced tea that tasted nothing like any iced tea we ever had anywhere. We asked the waiter if he got the drink correct and he replied that they did not make it in house and it was whatever Coke sent them. We decided on food and the waiter disappeared and we never saw him again for maybe 45 minutes. He then came to the table with five very small pieces of white bread for four people and two pieces of almost frozen butter. There was nothing else offered. No olive oil, no roasted peppers, nothing. We ate the bread and waited for our meal. When it came, my wife’s so called chicken parm was a dried out, thin, vastly overcooked and literally blackened and burnt piece of cardboard looking junk. We pointed it out to the waiter. His only response was to say that, yes, he saw how burnt it looked and he would take it back and have another piece prepared. It never should have been served in the first place. We did not send it back because we had waited an hour for that meal and it is really unpleasant to send back a meal and wait another half hour for a replacement while everyone else at the table is eating and would likely be finished with lunch before a replacement meal arrived. There was no apology from management. There was no offer to reduce the price of the meal. For this experience we paid about 100 dollars and had a cold, poor tasting, badly served, unpleasant experience. Never again.

Best meal ive had in a very long time a culinary explosion in my mouth from the chocolate martini to the appetizer to the main course of lobster ravioli to the fabulous chocolate souffle dessert

If you started and ended with the food, this place would be an award winner. It's always high quality, beautifully prepared and portions are larger than they have to be. The roasted peppers served with bread are incredibly good, but I would welcome a little olive oil or butter. I don't like that they direct you to the bar even though your table is ready (although the new bar area outside is really nice and when the weather's warm the outdoor dining area is an unexpected oasis). The owner seems like a nice man, but the servers seem some combination of harried, indifferent, or absent. I will return for the food and wish for a better overall experience.

The back bar and outdoor seating area is a very chill place to sit and eat. The bar is modern and has a great vibe and a nice house Chardonnay. The food is really good. This place looks like nothing from the front but once you walk in you will forget all about the strip mall and ugly surroundings.

Food and service very good a little pricey but I would go back very nice atmosphere only negative was weird music playing in the backround

I love the linguini with white clam and jumbo lump crabmeat... memorable... also, the complimentary hot fired peppers on crusty bread with oil and butter are pretty spectacular . My wife loved the veal chop and the cavetelli with crab. Don't miss their salads and the incredible balsamic dressings... and while you're there, say hi to Dave the owner (he's usually on site to make sure your experience and every bite are exactly what you want. finally, don't miss their home made sorbet and gelato... the dark chocolate and hazelnut is very good.

I have visiting this restaurant - inside and outside (both for dinner and at the P Square bar). It is consistently outstanding. I think I have eaten everything on the menu and every single item has been better than expectations. First, the bread and peppers to start - delicious. Just a fantastic way to enjoy your drink and look at the menu. Second. The meatballs. Perfection. Light, delicious and smothered in the perfect red sauce. Third. Every entree is better than the next. The chicken parm seems to be a popular choice, but I usually search for a special that gets my attention. The red snapper, the long hot peppers, the fig salad, on and on, amazing. Drinks are great. Wine list is good. And on a beautiful night, you just will not have a better experience. Going into center city is always fun, but Macaronis is usually better. In my last visit, my favorite part was the exceptional young man helping us during the night, Michael P. A true gentleman. Attentive and pleasant. Our server was AWESOME, but Michael just added a joyous vibe that could not be beat.

Again another delicious meal....Sunday gravy, pork, sausage and meatballs in red gravy over cavatelli pasta is a huge portion enough to share...two large meatballs...two sweet italian sausage and two pork pieces with marsacapone cheese on top... (Sunday special)....my husband had the pork porterhouse...huge chop beautifully prepared with sweet and hot peppers and small onions...he substituted the mashed truffle potatoes for fingerling...sautéed mushrooms and spinach completed a most satisfying meal...service was above average...the chef's antipasti was perfect...not to heavy to ruin your entree...my only complaint is that the peppers served are very spicy...a problem for me but would be perfect for others

This was the first time we ate at this establishment. A friend treated us. It was really cozy inside. It's small but we had plenty of room. Candles were lit at every table which gave it a very warm and inviting feel. We all enjoyed our meals very much, and the serving sizes were larger than I thought they would be. I had shrimp and risotto. It was delicious. If I get it again I will ask that they not put pepper on the shrimp. But I enjoyed it. We finished with chocolate gelato which was delicious. The service was very good. I would visit again if we weren't moving our of state.

Unbelievable place. Went here for a book signing and decided to have dinner. Wow. You have to try the Lobster Ravioli. don't leave without having that dish. The anipasto was very good and the peppers they served with the crusty Italian bread was excellent. The outside dining area gives you the impression you're away on an island vacation. I really can't say enough about this place. I highly recommend this establishment to everyone.

Don't be fooled by the location folks. This place is a gem in the Far Northeast. It was an excellent experience from start to finish! The food was the best by far. I had the lobster ravioli and field green salad which was huge and delicious. My husband and friends had the filet mignon which was made to perfection. The place is beautiful and they are building a glass enclosed bar behind the restaurant. Treat yourselves! You won't be disappointed. The prices are more reasonable than Center City. We all had a great time!

ave literally driven past this restaurant humdreds of times. Watched several exterior remodels. It nestled between 2 strip malls and across the street from church/school. Suggested it for a dinner with a friend. ..we were blown away. Fabulous food delivered straight from the stove ( I hate tepid food). The saltimbaca and the mussels were perfection. Vapped it off with cappuccinos and shared creme brulee pie. It is surprisingly pricey for the locale but well worth it. On the small side so make a reservation. We will be back!!!

We arrived early for a family dinner and sat at the beautiful bar within 5 mins, our big family started to show up, too. The bartender was friendly and we ordered two drinks. My husband had a beer which he enjoyed and I ordered prosecco, which was flat and he knew it as he dumped the bottle out after serving me. My hubby saw that, i didn't...hubby asked me if it was flat and said yes but didn't want to be a pest, so I didn't ask the bartender to open a fresh bottle. Seeing that we were with a large party--about to spend a big sum, I would have liked a fresh bottle opened. I ordered another drink-champagne cocktail while at the table- and it too was flat. The bartender is nice, but he will need to actually be trained to serve better drinks. He would never last in a Center City establishment. Moving on, we ordered many different things from the menu as there were 19 people ordering, it felt mostly organized & everyone was very happy with their meal (everything from spaghetti for the younger people, to filet and lamb) it was all good. The lamb chop could have been charred a bit for added flavor, but I enjoyed it just fine. The pistachio crust was quite interesting and I liked it very much. Dessert was very good, we had cannoli and tiramisu, both fresh and tasty. We will definitely be back again as the food was great and the service was great, just the bar needs a tiny bit of attention. But, we were not there for the bar. They accommodated us and were very nice even when part of our party was 45 minutes late, no one gave even a slight look or comment they just went with it and gave us a great time. I should add that we had just about every appetizer on the menu and it was all amazing, the cheese plate was extremely interesting and the mozzarella was fresh!

We stumbled upon this place as we were in the area and what a gem! Awesome food from start to finish! Great table bread and perfectly roasted peppers! Scallops were tasty! The mushroom bruschetta is beyond yummy!!! Can’t say enough about this place between service and food! Worth the 45 min ride to return! Thanks!!

I was introduced to Macaroni's through a work dinner about six years ago. The food is stellar and the service is fantastic. We've moved away from Philadelphia and look forward to a meal at Macaroni's when we are in the area. We dined at Macaroni's this week and were pleased to find the food as good as ever. Tips: Do NOT skip the pasta course. This will be the highlight of your meal. Let the waitperson know what you like and let them select and prepare the pastas for you. Same thing with the wine...share your budget and taste and let the experts at Macaroni's select the perfect pairing for your meal. The calamari is as light as air and pleasantly spiced.

Great food, decent portions, good bar drinks. Everyone loved their food and appetizers. Staff was friendly and attentive with only one delay to get a second drink. Children ordered pizza which unfortunately came out a few minutes after the rest of the entrees. Prices were also high so not a budget friendly place.

Enjoyed a wonderful lunch with friends. We all chose hamburgers and they were delicious. I do not order hamburgers, but I definitely would again! Salads were fresh and crisp and service was excellent. GELATO reminded me of Italy. Only disappointment was the outdoor seating was not open and it was a gorgeous day. When we were ready to leave our waiter, mentioned that the outdoor seating had just opened, so we sat in their beautiful area and chatted for an hour. THIS IS A HIDDEN GEM! Can't wait to return.

Had dinner there on Saturday night and really enjoyed the meal. Mozzarella e Carrozza was an excellent appetizer. We had the lobster ravioli and chicken parmesan and both meals were great. Place had excellent service. We had two or three servers attending to us making sure everything was perfect and to our satisfaction. Restaurant also has a nice bar area in the back surrounded by glass.

This was my second time and last time at this restaurant. I had out of town guests and wanted to have a nice dinner experience close to our house. OMG! First when you walked into the dining room your shoes stuck to the floor. Second, when we sat down the chairs were wet. Ok, so we changed the chairs, not once but three times before some of us got a dry chair. I say some of us because one of the guests pants were soaked after sitting on the chair for a few hours. The table next to us were sitting on towels because their chairs were wet. I was mortified because I selected the restaurant. The service wasn't much better. Too much time in between servings and not everyone served at the same time. And then you try to clear out plates when not everyone is done with there dinner! Water glasses were filled to the top and spilled on the floor. The table was even sticky. I am so embarrassed- I will never step foot in this restaurant again. Obviously, management knew there was a problem because they offered our deserts on the house AFTER we ordered two from a table of five. Bottom line-- we should have walked out as soon as we walked in!!

Food is on par with any of the standout Italians in South Philly or in Center City. I've eaten here many times for the past 12 years and the food continues to get better and better.

The food and atmosphere are superb. Had fresh oysters, a special, and they were delicious. Not cheap but worth it. Kobe meatballs were served on a plate of fresh ricotta and they were super yummy. Chicken parm was crispy and delicious.

I have eatten there 3 times in the past three months. It gets better each visit. It is a meal and experience I look forward to. It is a beautiful place with beautiful people and food.

The food was fantastic! They had our favorite wine on the wine list too. Veal Saltimbocca was delicious. Calamari appetizer was fresh and cooked just right. Service was very good even with a packed restaurant. My new and only favorite neighborhood place.

We visited last weekend for a family birthday dinner. Top shelf experience from start to end. Excellent service. Delicious food and fairly priced for what you get. Nice environment to eat in. The entire visit was flawless.

I'd read some not-so-good recent reviews on other sites and was worried about what we'd fine. I was very pleasantly surprised. The decor was beautiful. The food was really very good. It's on the pricy side for sure, so I won't be back often. But I enjoyed it. I had the lobster ravioli and my guest had the tuna. We shared the shrimp scampi bread appetizer. All were yummy! Dessert was the creme brulee pie--I'd have preferred actual creme brulee.

We’ve bee customers for over 30 years. The food is fabulous, the “Sunday Gravy” to die for. Dave treaty’s everyone like family. The outside bar is amazing!

We've been there many times before, this time we made reservations for 6:30 and confirmed the day before, i was taking business clients to dinner and a show , we were promised the dining room, we waited until 7:30 to be seated and then we were seated at a pub table for 2 , after a very short discussion with a gentleman who We've gotten to know simply said sorry , so they over booked and lost a customer, very un professional, my opinion save time and money go elsewhere.

The food is very good although pricey for the neighborhood as mentioned in other posts. They accommodated my party of four on short notice with an 8 o'clock reservation. The waiter was professional and the atmosphere is nice. The food is worth 4 stars but reduced to 3 because of the experience. At around 9 o'clock the staff began to clean up around us. The back door was located near our table and there was a constant flow of staff in and out with mops, etc. whiile we were eating. At one point a staff member tripped coming in from outside and knocked a wine bucket to the floor. By 9:20 the bartender was settling out the register and some staff began to leave making it uncomfortable for us. We settled our check and left by 9:30. Don't advertise that you are open til 10pm if you don't want to be there. I understand that the staff wants to go home but we did not overstay. If you price yourself like a center city restaurant then act like one!

My friend and I had the pleasure of happening upon Macaroni's and it was terrific. The name scared me but the food enchanted me. We began with great cocktails and shared an appetizer and Pizza. We are from NYC and calamari and Pizza (note the capital P ) are the plates by which we judge Italian restaurants. We were not disappointed. Flawless in presentation and taste, only to be met with equal service. It is very well worth a trip.

We have driven by this restaurant a million times, but never tried it. I recently met a friend for dinner and we decided to try Macaroni's. We are so glad we did. For starters, they give you delicious Italian bread with roasted peppers. I ordered the angel hair with shrimp. I can't even explain how delicious it was. My friend ordered the Vodka rigatoni with chicken and she said it was the best she's ever had. I have to say that it is somewhat pricey for a Northeast, Philly restaurant, but I don't mind paying for something as long as it is worth it, and believe me, this restaurant is worth it!! Another positive thing about Macaroni's is that we never felt rushed. When our dinner was over we continued to sit at our table and check up on each other's lives and what has been going on in each family, and not once did we feel like we were being rushed out of there. Our waiter only came over one time to see if we needed anything else, but that was it. No pressure at all. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys delicious Italian food, and who doesn't mind paying a little more for it than most Northeast, Philly restaurants!

We stopped for some wine and to try a couple of small plates offered at the Outside Bar. Wine selection is excellent and the two plates we sampled were the sausage, spinach & beans, and the Reginetti Bolognese were delicious. We finally found a wine bar in Northeast Philly that serves great food. We'll return soon!

Good food. Nice atmosphere. The outside bar is nice with surrounding outside dining. I enjoy coming here and hanging at back bar where you can also order food

This was our first time and our food was very good from the appetizers to dessert! John was our server and he was very nice helpful mannerly and courteous. He was very accommodating to our wants and needs. Great please to go and enjoy a delicious meal with terrific service. Would highly recommend!

I’ve eaten at Macroni’s on two different occasions and have not been disappointed. The food and service are truly excellent and above anything that you will find in the area. If you are looking for a great meal, in a perfect atmosphere then this will be your place.

This restaurant is consistently delicious and the service always good. I had the Veal Primo with a basil cream sauce. Unbelievable! Veal Marsala my boyfriend had was equally delicious. They have a good wine list with our favorite Trefethen Merlot. A Center City quality restaurant in Northeast Philadelphia.

Went last two thursdays and sat at outside bar. Food was good. The first night blonde barmaid was so so as far as service went. The second night service was way better with a different bartender. Its close and has a nice atmosphere.

Macaroni's is one of my favorite Italian restaurants. I always look forward to coming back. Service: The wait staff was attentive and pleasant, but not in our face constantly. Our waitress was ready with recommendations when asked. Our orders were exactly correct with no problem. Oh and by the way, without saying a word, the owner helped to bring out our dishes without the incessant questioning that many managers/owners feel adds to the experience but only serves to diminish as you nervously answer "yes my food was good..!" Wonderful. Beverages: The wine selection was solid. We ordered chocolate martinis As well as espresso and cappuccino for dessert. I have to say, it was some of the best espresso I have ever had. Bright and crisp with sweet notes, yet also bitter and satisfying. Outstanding. Food: In a word, fantastic. Everything was delicious. We ordered veal saltimbocca, penne in vodka sauce, and chicken fiorentina. Everything is sold a la carte, but was delicious. Flavors were full and fresh, with the taste you would expect from a much pricier restaurant. Everything tasted fresh, homemade, and made from scratch with real ingredients. Absolutely unbelievable. And the pasta! Obviously homemade. The macaroni pasta might not have been homemade, but whatever it was it tasted unbelievably delicious (I would assume the top of the line). Chicken was tender, the veal was perfectly prepared (almost impossible to find), and the sauces were full bodied and flavorful. The Caesar salad was impressive, with just the right amount of cheese and anchovy incorporated. The deserts were perfect, with made from scratch ingredients. I could go on and on and on; even the presentation was breathtaking. To sum up: high quality, great ambiance, excellent service, wonderful local restaurant. Mid to high range pricing, but you know EXACTLY where that price goes with the first bite. Go, and you'll want to come back as soon as possible.

Wanted to try a new place that wasn't a chain restaurant and I found this place online. Checked out the menu online and a few reviews but I wasn't sure what to expect. We arrived, party of 4, two adults two kids. It's really nice inside. We were seated in the bar area; wasn't too happy since we had kids with us but it wasn't crowded so it wasn't a big deal. They had two large parties in the dining room so the servers were scrambling. We ordered our food and while we were waiting, we received a plate of bread and roasted sweet peppers that were really good. We ordered the antipasto plate and it was a lot to munch on which we were happy about since it was pricey. We ordered 3 entrees and they were really good portions. Usually, smaller places charge up for small plates of food; not here. The food was really good, even my two kids cleaned their plates off. We decided to indulge on dessert and the creme brulee cake was delicious. My kids shared the chocolate mousse and they ate the whole thing. It wasn't a cheap meal, but with that said, we def feel like we got what we paid for and the food was worth it. Server's were good. When we arrived the bar area wasn't full but by the time we left the whole place was packed. That's always a good sign. I'd come back to try some of the other dishes. I'd say give this place a try.

Used to be my favorite go to restaurant for special occasions...but after this visit I have changed my mind...something is off...my filet for $45 (plain-not the special) was ice cold along with the spinach and potatoes...had to send it back and my husband was finished with the halibut special $38 which he enjoyed by the time the filet came back...only luke warm...definitely unenjoyable...kobe meatball app was barely warm and the calamari was cold, rubbery and tasted liked it had been reheated in the microwave...birthday dinner was not special at all...not sure if I will give it another try!

Recently visited for a co-workers birthday dinner. The food was delicious. The appetizers (calamari) was cooked perfectly. We asked for a soup and was accommodated. The soup was a type of Italian Wedding and was great. For the entrees, we had the special and the fish dish. Again, cooked to perfection. A great meal and well worth the trip.
Surprising Oasis
Surprising to find this oasis of elegance tucked next to a strip shopping center. Once you enter the stylish ambiance of this neighborhood restaurant or the chic outdoor dining area you are miles away from the hustle and bustle of the ordinary world, which is what I want in a dining experience. This pleasant bistro delivers on it favorable first impression with cuisine that exceeds expectations. Dining with a group of five to celebrate a special occasion everyone was very happy with their selection. While not inexpensive it is not overly pricey either. The Cioppino was expensive at $36.but the pasta and seafood dishes (Shrimp Pomodoro and Cavatelli topped with Crabmeat) were reasonable at $25. The chef impresses with creative and succulent dishes at every course. Our main course was bracketed with a very flavorful Cauliflower Bisque and a Molten Chocolate Cake and Gelato combination.
