Great place for Italian food!

By Dave M |

This place came highly recommended for good Italian food, and it lived up to the expectation. Being located in the Domain means that you have to make arrangements for parking and reservations here are encouraged. The interior space is well-used and has the waiting area and bar separate from the main dining section. The staff was friendly, and the décor nicely done. The establishment was packed, but there wasn’t an unreasonable wait at any point during the evening. We started off the Crispy Zucchini Fritte and Mozzarella Marina. The portions were good sized, and extremely tasty. The breading on the appetizers was thin, so it didn’t take away from the delicious tastes of the items. The mozzarella was melted just right. For the main courses, we ordered the Veal Marsala and the Chicken Parmesan. Both of these dishes were crafted with excellent quality, and were extremely savory. The appetizers were filling by themselves, but the portions of the main courses were large and well worth the money spent. Between the spaghetti side-dishes and the complementary bread, we had a table-full of delicious food. Needless to say, we needed to get a to-go box. Guaranteed this is a place which we’ll be going back to.

First time visiting

Went for lunch on a cold, blustery day and the hot Italian food was delicious. Staff was professional, friendly and knowledgeable. Lots of food, so unless you are starving or want leftovers, consider splitting an entre.

Buisness in Austin

By Mehylander |

In Austin the Latin food is fantastic. Nothing like the northern states of course. I had to schedule a business meeting and of course I always try to make it a pleasant experience. I wanted to switch things up a little and look for something Italian to compliment the meeting. Of course, in my research I found Maggiano's. Upon arriving, parking seemed a little confusing at first. When dining officially began of course they did have a parking attendant. My problem is I always like to arrive early. Upon entering we received warm welcomes from the staff. The decor was very pleasant with all the natural wood designs and moldings. Even with the wood decor it was not dim or gloomy at all but very bright and vibrant. Our waiter was swift and pleasant. We received a complimentary introduction to their breads and ordered the Bruschetta Bar Tour appetizer to get a sample of their sauce. The sauce was perfect in my opinion as it was not sweet and had a perfect balance, you could tell it was real tomato sauce and not that from a production line. After the appetizer we ordered our main courses. The main courses came out perfectly prepared. Shrimp Fra Diavolo was not too spicy and the shrimp was very tender. Because of my love of seafood, I had to order the Linguine di Mare. Everything was perfect. The entire time we were being checked to made sure everything was fine. We met the local manager (Santa), who was funny, warm and very hospitable. Because we were from out of town, she offered us deserts on the house. The main entre was so large we could not have desert for each of us so we ordered just the Crème Brûlée and shared. Overall everything was just fantastic. The service, the presentation and hospitality were all very warm and welcoming. I am going to recommend Maggiano's in Austin to any of my friends or colleagues that may venture the area and when I return, they will be at the top of my list. Santa keep watching and my many compliments to Executive Chef Matt Nicholson for a job well done.

Design Flaw

By Worldtraveler5241 |

We went to Maggiano's to celebrate a birthday. The waiter warned us about the strange tables that had fold up leaves to expand the tables. I have used this type of table before with no ill effects. But this one had a one inch indentation for starters and sloped toward the diner. So of course during what was an enjoyable evening, the inevitable happened. Setting my wine glass down on the extension over it went with the wine going mostly on me and the floor. The waiter finally noticed my plight, but his only comment was "I would have to pay for the alcohol anyway." When we left, the floor was wet with wine and no one even offered an apology. Certainly no hint of a comp. My point is the tables were badly designed to cause falling wine glasses. The food was fine and the service attentive. But I will not return.

Great Place for A Birthday Party!

By Noel S |

The Domain is a great location, full of activity. Maggiano's Little Italy is the perfect way to end the day. The atmosphere is welcoming and the two servers that waited on our party of 12 were fantastic. The food was good, but you have to look for the "secret menu" for tradition Italian food. This menu is sandwiched between the two-leafed main menu. You have to pull it out to access it. Also, when you order some things on the menu, you are able to order a dish to take home with you. It can be the same as you ordered or somethin completely different. It is included.

Eat at domain, travel to Italy

By Manoj N |

A place at the domain, that takes you on a joy ride to Italy on food! Maggiano gives a true feel of Italian food. Would love to be there again on my next visit to Domain

Excellent

By jjjones6477 |

Came for some good Italian food, did not leave disappointed. Everything was excellent, food, service, all of it. Rigatoni D was amazing, as was the ziti.

Corporate Retreat Dinner

By Zhiv |

Nicely prepared preset menu dinner with wide variety or Mediterranean cuisine, all nice prepared and tasty. All four rounds were served at large round tables for self serving portions. Definitely worth it and recommended. Service was a bit slow but attentive to detail and place was clean and pleasant. Excellent for business dinners.

Great Italian Chain

By LA-Traveler70043 |

Maggiano's is a chain but I have had some good meals at ones around the county, this one did not disappoint, the staff and food was great, if you like Italian, enjoy.

Large and nicely laid out.

By L H |

This was our first time to this location and attending a party here. The place is very large with two dining rooms that have both table and booth seating. They also have private rooms you can book for special gatherings. The noise level was low. There is a nice seating area as you enter and a bar with seating in the front. The menu has a good variety of choices and entrees are priced from around $14.95 and up. I would have liked a separate lunch menu but seems they only have one menu and pricing is upwards for lunch and portions larger than I care for at lunch. The appetizers that were ordered were fried squash (which I thought had more batter than squash), Fried Mozzarella Squares (which were very good) and Spinach/Artichoke Dip (which was tasty but a bit to chunky. Creamier texture would have been preferred). The appetizers portions were a nice size. Everyone ordered something different and all seemed to enjoy. We had the Chicken Manicotti ($18.50) and nothing came with it but three servings of manicotti. At this price a salad would have been nice but that was additional. I guess since this is in a large upscale shopping complex and in Austin the pricing is general. The wait staff was polite and punctual and accommodating but they did get several mix ups in the meals but did apologize and also offered a free dessert to one attendee. It looked as if a manager was also helping out to make sure things were corrected if need be. It turned out to be a very nice gathering and all appreciated the separate dining room area as to not disturb others with our festivities. If you want a very nice atmosphere, nice wait staff and a good meal and don't mind the price, then you should plan a special occasion here. On a side note, you have to park in a covered parking garage away from the restaurant but it isn't a far walk and you can drop people off in front and then go park.

Huge. Earls, service excellent

Walked across to here from our accommodation. Food was fabulous and fresh. Big portion sizes! Service was outstanding. Would be a regular if we were locals.

Best Italian in Texas

By Carlos R |

Best place to eat Italian in Texas, we have been visiting the Houston, Austin and once the Vegas one, and the dishes taste great, solid, consistent, high quality. It may alter your diet hahaha but it is the best way to alter it!

Great food and great service

By Mrpigpow |

Excellent food and Service! Our server Jasmine went above and beyond to make our meal 🤩 amazing. Jasmine is very knowledgeable, prompt and kind. The Chicken piccata and baked Ziti were delicious and prepared to perfection. Thank you for a Authentic Delicious Italian Dinner.

Graduation celebration

By tripree |

We went here to celebrate our daughter graduating with her master's degree from UT. Recommended for celebrations with a group. Daniel provided excellent service. Despite forgetting about a coupon and using a credit card that offered a discount (doh!) Tab wasn't as bad as we thought it would be for a party of eight. Food ranges from good to very good, depending on your palette and entree choice. Chicken picatta was only good while salmon Oscar was excellent.

Super Customer Service

By realst8ace |

The kitchen was very backed up due to a lot of graduation celebrations so it took quite a while for our food to come out The manager visited our table several times to apologize. She made us feel valued which was much appreciated. She also adjusted our check. The food was very good and the desserts even better, We ordered the Marco''s Meal for two which came with "Three courses for 2 guests, plus take home 2 classic pasta dishes ." The fried zucchini was amazing as was the Chocolate Cannoli cake.

Pricey but great food and service

By Andy J |

Prices range from about 18 and up but u get what u pay for. Chicken parm was great, wife got the sea bass was $37 but had amazing flavor. Service was fantastic, highly recommend.

Very disappointed

By ObedF |

Went there for Easter. The food was okay as always. Nice service. Once I was done I went to the restroom. Had to use a stall. Once I was done I reached for toilet paper. The entire paper roll holder was gone. Needless to say, I have to ask a complete stranger for assistance from the next stall. Embarrassing and not acceptable. No warning signs. Not acceptable for a dining establishment.

Enjoyable Sunday brunch

By Aivars T |

We had a post-graduation brunch at Maggianos which was a very pleasant casual event. The restaurant itself is very impressive with an almost small theatre foyer entrance. The pitcher of mimosa arrived promptly as did our orders for our party of 10. Very popular choices included the Crab Eggs Benedict, waffles and pancakes. Would like to try one of their other meals on our next visit. I do not understand why we had to wait for some 10 minutes while the rest of the party, who were held up in traffic, arrived even though we had a reserved table. AivarsT

Very goid

By Vacationer8675301 |

Have never been here but quickly felt under dressed when we walked in. Italian food was great. The extra portion they give you to take home was nice but unnecessary as I was driving thru Texas. I would have preferred a salad but not at $6.25 per salad with your meal. Bread was great and service was very good. Bathrooms were clean. It's pricey so I'd return again for a special occasion only.

Best mussels

By Cathy C |

Every time I go to Austin for meetings, I love to go here and get Mussels. Huge serving. Have to share. I shared with co-worker this time who had never eaten them before. She ate half the bowl. Pasta was great as well. also very large serving. Great atmosphere.

Good food

My adult kids and I had dinner here. Food selection was good. Food quality was good. Price and environment were also good.

Food, service and ambiance are above average--a "keeper" for us

By 1234texas |

We were pleasantly surprised at how well this restaurant meets all of the standard measurements we use to evaluate any dining experience. It is just a little short of a 5 rating in our book. (NOTE TO READERS: To be precise, our measurements to get a 5 are very high--it has to be one of the best lifetime dining experiences we have ever had. To get a 4 is that it must be a wonderful meal with excellent service in a well designed & maintained establishment. An "average" 3, is a good meal that we would absolutely consider replicating in the future. Sadly, a 2 is a marginal meal and weak total experience--not to be repeated. At the bottom is a 1 --just plain awful on all counts.) The design, decor, and layout of the restaurant is excellent--very attractive and welcoming. We really liked the bar design, which is just off the lobby entrance. The decor of the main dining room is really attractive--nice black and white pictures on the walls and checked tablecloths with a white top piece. Parking is in the high rise lot just to the west of the entrance. The hostess team did a nice job of greeting us and getting us to a table. The wait staff was friendly and competent--helpful on the portion sizes (which are very large and there is a small portion option). The food was served in a timely manner and the appetizers were excellent. The main course of the veal dishes as well as the lobster were also excellent--attractive and tasty. For what you get here in terms of food (quality & quantity), service and ambiance, the prices are incredibly reasonable. We will return when we are in the area and need our "Italian fix!" All in all, a good experience on all levels. This is a very large restaurant and meeting facility. There were a number of business gatherings the night we ate here. Although we did not use the bar, it was very active on this night--a Tuesday.

Good pick for a date night

By TA_Gavin |

We were here for a date night and the place was busy. The servers were nice and the food was delicious. Definitely try their tiramisu, it was our favorite.

Just average Italian food

By M J |

My husband and I met a few people at Maggiano's Little Italy for dinner on a Tuesday night. We ate family style Spaghetti, Baked Ziti, Chicken Parmesan, Salmon Lemon & Herb, Chocolate Zuccotto Cake and Apple Crostada. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and elegant decor. The Salmon Lemon & Herb and Chocolate Zuccotto Cake was tasty. There other items were barely average. We have no plans to return.

Buon Appetito

By Steve C |

This is definitely an experience, and for me a very good one. Very large restaurant ( a little noisy = 4 stars) with a lot of tables filled with people looking to have fun. Definitely reminds me of some large restaurants on east coast. Tall ceilings made for a grand feeling. Food was very good, but not exceptional. Pricing was very reasonable. Home made bread was wonderful. Appetizers of stuffed mushrooms and Calamari were great. It was Mother’s Day celebration of three generations that was special. Special feature of buy a meal and take one home with you was different but great. Can’t wait to go again.

Great food, and wonderful added value

By WriterBy |

We enjoyed Maggiano's for lunch--the four cheese ravioli was 'squisito!' and the nice surprise was our choice of a to-go meal...for free! Quiet, family atmosphere and reasonable, at least for a lunchtime meal.

Relaxing Brunch

By Lisa C |

Maggiano's is always good, but brunch was delightful! The atmosphere is classical Italian but in a comfortable modern setting. The menu had a wide variety of brunch options plus regular menu options including brisket hash and crab Benedict and french toast. Midge, our server, was outstanding. I wanted to take her with me to all subsequent restaurants which I might visit. Try one of their unusual brunch cocktails. The sangria has basil! Yum!

Great food. Great service.

By PfRay54 |

Got a coupon so I took a friend for lunch. Mid afternoon on Monday so not really busy. I typically get the buy one entree and take one home free. My friend did the same. Her spaghetti and meatballs was a lot of food. The meatballs were the size of small meatloafs. Abby was our server. She was excellent. Matt was the manager. I took time to thank him for the great visit. I will be back.

Great service

By Ruby C |

Brittany our server and the manager today gave us excellent service. The food was great. It was my birthday and they made it spe ial.

Austin spin on Italian

By Mark S |

I have dined at Maggiano's in Bellevue WA many times so I had an expectation when I arrived at this location in the Domain. I was impressed at the speed of service and the quality of the food was excellent. The wait staff did not mind i was dining alone and checked on my often, The suggested wine was perfect with my meal. This is an excellent location and is a good representative of what Maggiano's can offer. This is no "Olive Garden" dreck...

Look for hidden menu

By luvsmntry |

Luckily we already knew abour the buy one meal take one meal home for free because the menu for that was almost hidden between the other menus. Large amount of food, although i felt it was a little expensive unless getting the buy one take one

Excellent Italian food

By P M |

Had dinner here at The Domain. The food came quickly and it was a bit chilly inside, like almost any American restaurant. Food tasted nice. Bottle of wine should have arrived a little faster.

Great choice for celebration lunch

By Mac D |

We had a celebration lunch and chose this place. It was a great choice. You can choose either family style or to order from the menu. Service was outstanding and so was the food.

Italian at the Domain

By Ewlatin |

I have been more than once, it’s a big place so, even at busy times the wait is not too long, the food depends of what you get, they have a new spaghetti carbonara with shrimp, highly recommended!, same with Salmon and most of the chicken plates, desserts are getting kinda pricy ( over $8) but the lemon coconut cherry cheesecake is awesome!, and of course, do not forget the chocolate mint candies at the door, oh, and go with time to hang out, kitchen is usually too busy to get your plates in less than 40 min!

Used to be so good!

By Laurabeth25 |

The pandemic has not been kind to this old favorite. Right off we missed the valet parking. Upon entering, there was a very strong and unpleasant smell in the restaurant the was noticeable even with the powerful, pleasant food aromas. The booth where we were seated had noticeable damage, including a tear in the upholstery with gray tufts sticking out. We immediately noticed that a number of tables were not set for dinner, probably to achieve "social distancing." However, these tables had become catch-alls and held pitchers, dishes (some used), cast-off rags, papers... it looked messy and unappealing. The QR code plan to read the menu on our phones didn't work well, and the staff took a minute to retrieve a paper menu - just one for the party. We were happy enough with the food. We tried the "Make-A-Wish" Lobster Fondue and enjoyed it, although there were a bit or two of shell present. The wrong salad came out first, but the server corrected the problem. The salads were unexciting, heavier on lettuce than I remembered, especially with the iceberg being very pale and not as crisp and fresh as it could have been. The chicken parmesan and gnocchi were great. The meatballs were disappointed dry and lacked flavor. We noticed that our main course was not delivered by the server who had been attending to us, and we did not receive any attention from anyone until it was time to pay the bill. Our original server returned, explaining that she'd been pulled off the help in the bar. We felt unimportant. We will probably choose a different restaurant next time, which is too bad. Maggiano's used to be a favorite!

Delicious, perfect.

By BERTHA C |

The “Oscar Salmon” has salmon and lump, both perfectly cooked and Delicious. Even though, the brushettas, was the best. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Shelter from the rain......ahhhhh

By ale79843 |

On a rainy and muddy Saturday evening I slipped into a bar banquette and was enveloped with the smell of roasting garlic and familiar Rat Pack crooners. It was dreary outside but the restaurant was a Mecca of comfort food. From the Rigatoni D to the take home spaghetti and meatball the kind staff with warm smiles made dining alone on a dreary night a great one. All the food is fantastic and the monthly specials are always outstanding.

Perfection

By Edward_Lawton |

I went for the wedge to start and the four cheese ravioli as a main and it was all perfect !! Finish off with frangelico and espresso! Keep up the great work guys you are smashing it !! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Awesome Night at Private Event

By Gary H |

We attended a private event last night at their event rooms. This restaurant does a great job with private events. We had close to 100 people attending and the staff did a wonderful job. They were very helpful with details and ensured everyone had drinks and food. The dinner was excellent. We had a variety of appetizers, three main entrées and two types of desserts. All were wonderful and tasty! Great job to the staff. We really enjoy going to this establishment!.

Just ok

By Beatrice F |

Went on a Saturday night so they were busy and service was very slow. Mashed potatoes were yum. Salad was fresh. Portions very large. Tea was weak. It was too cold in restaurant. For the prices, I wasn’t impressed. Service was too slow to be acceptable.

Wonderful!

By wjd01 |

A beautiful restaurant for either a casual meal or a special celebration. Clean and beautifully decorated. There is a kids menu and 5 or 6 items on the menu give you one large serving to eat in and another packed to take home -- and they can be two different selections -- for only $13.95! The food was delicious!

Delicious

By Rhondilynne |

I hadn't been to Maggiano's in a couple of years, and my friend I was with had never been. I was in the mood for Italian, and this was my choice. Our waiter, Patrick, was beyond amazing. He knew the menu and could give us great information regarding our meals. The bread was fresh, our salads weren't drowned in dressing, and our meals were very tasty. I can't say anything bad about our visit. I will definitely return. Oh, I was there for lunch, so I can't give any information on weekend crowds or service. Give it a try.

Dinner in Austin

By Amr_Heikal |

THE LOCATION: easily accessible   PARKING: Valet Service for $7 USD THE AMBIENCE: As soon as you walk in you feel the grandiose of this restaurant, it is huge. Very busy and you can smell and see the plates going around. Warm, casual, nothing complicated, but elegant.   THE SERVICE: Fantabulous, our waiter Laredo was very informative, he warned us that the appetizer will take more time in the oven, he knew the details of the huge menu, and he was always there when we needed him. He even warned us that we ordered too much that the portions are big, I really respected that.   THE FOOD:  As an Italian restaurant the food is good, it is not the best Italian that you will have, it is OK. It is not finger licking good but it is not bad either. I don’t know how to explain this, I think the food is good but it lacks soul. It is as if this food has been produced in a huge manufacturing machine. The Spinach & Artichoke al Forno (9/10) appetizer was amazing Veal Parmesan, Provolone & Marinara Sauce with Spaghetti (6/10) as portion is humongous, 4 pieces of veal. As the veal is covered by the Provolone & Marinara Sauce it becomes soggy. The breading of the veal needed some spices or something the marinara sauce is OK. This dish can be easily shared by two people. Limoncello Tiramisu (4/10) had nothing to do with Limoncello it was a major disappointment for me, it had only some lemon peals on top.   THE PORTION SIZE: is HUGE…. When you order a Veal Parmesan you expect you will get one or maximum two pieces of meat but definitely not 4 pieces. There is no way a normal human being can finish this plate. Many dishes in the menu had an offer like order a pasta and take another to go.   THE COST: Value for money, a party of 3 we paid $114 USD without any alcoholic beverages   THE BOTTOM LINE: Maggiano's is nice for family outings, big parties, personally being in the US on a short trip I won’t go again. I would prefer something on a smaller scale with an authentic Italian menu.

Friendship day lunch

Nice food and environment, little pricey but liked the food . Wished had big plate sizes the ambience was amazing.

Fabulous delicious meals!

By NancyN9 |

We are visiting from out of town & heard wonderful things about Maggiano’s. We ordered the seafood Di Mare and the Dinner for Two. Everything was delicious, tasty and tasted fresh. The mussels were the best ever! The apple dessert fabulous. I could go on and on with rave reviews on this restaurant. Parking was ample. The restaurant clean and followed covid precaution protocols. We are going back again before we end our vacation. So delicious! Thank you Maggiano’s for a wonderful dining experience.

Romantic early supper...

By Pinaywife |

We're in the Domain area and found this very nice and romantic place for out early supper. The place was impressive. It's a huge place for any party or banquet. It's also a good place for romantic dinner date. Our server was Cassandra who was friendly and professional. We had the Marcos dinner for two. It included two of the classic pastas, eggplant Parmesan and chicken fettuccine, spinach salad, and crime brûlée for dessert. It's good portion at a very reasonable price.Everything was delicious. I love the frozen peach Bellini. And we were given the take home pasta. Our Italian dinner continues...

Celebrated our "monthaversary" last month. Very pleasantly surprised...

By steverydercom |

It was the day of our 273rd Monthaverary.. It was a Sunday so Headliners (a local private club) was closed, and we had been given a gift certificate. Needless to say we were going into this experience blind. First surprise, ample free parking was a 1/4 block away from the entrance to Maggianos. We had called ahead for reservations and were quickly seated. And the food!!! Many choices, all looked good, so we asked our server for suggestions. Everything was superb and they even had a "take-home" option. We ate our fill, then enjoyed the take-home the next night. The total bill including a 20% tip was $74.73, less the $25 gift certificate was under $50. This is about 1/3 of what we would have paid Headliners. Great food, great meal choice selections and help, and great prices. We will be visiting again.

Great old school restaurant

By BrianB32931 |

Have been to quite a few of the Maggiano's locations and was very happy to have dinner here while i was in town. Have never been disappointed.

Food was good, service was strange!

By crzy4travel |

A colleague and I were staying at the Lone Star Court, right across the street from Maggiano's. We went there for lunch on our last day of meetings before heading to the airport. At 12:15 the place was pretty busy and the waitstaff were frazzled. There were several little "meltdowns" going on between the waitstaff and the hosts. Our busboy spoke in something that was not discernible as English - more of a singsong mumble. And our waiter just kept referencing how busy it was. We felt a bit like we were in an episode of the Twilight Zone!!!

Great Place for private family gatherings!

By Alice A |

WOO! Thank you Maggiano's! I planned a family reunion for this past weekend and by far Maggiano's had the best deal for our $$$$$. We had a private room with a projector, space for people to present, and perfect background music. Our bartender Joe was AWESOME. He remembered everyone's orders and handled multiple family member requests smoothly. He made sure that everyone with dietary restrictions would be accommodated. He knew how to take my family's humor and toss it right back. We LOVED that. THANK YOU JOE! Our waiter Brandon was on. top. of. it. We had 23 family members in there all wanting coffee and water or sodas or whatever at different times and he nailed it. Never wondered when my water would be refilled. This is a big thing for my family and me. Thank you Brandon! I believe someone named Don came in to aid at the very beginning and he was very polite as well. Thank you! Tim, the manager, came to introduce himself and make sure his face was known so if there were any issues that we would be able to resolve them with him. He was SO polite and such a calm presence. He made sure my drinks started rolling in as my nerves were kicking in hehe! Tim, thank you so much. Last but certainly not least, Jessica. Jessica was our banquet coordinator and let me just tell you, this girl can rolllllll with the punches! I can't count how many phone calls I sent her way clarifying and re-clarifying, checking and triple checking and changing and editing down to the week before. She never once, not even for a fraction of a second, made me feel annoying or intrusive. This girl made the afternoon happen. THANK YOU Jessica. I can't gush over this group of individuals enough. My family was so happy. I heard no complaints! Maggiano's and the staff mentioned above: Thank you. From the bottom of my heart.

Large, expensive, noisy Italian restaurant with OH SO food.

By Phillip F |

Attended a birthday party with my family of 8 people. We were seated promptly and the wait staff was OK, but the food was just average and the prices were way too high for the service/food combination. The restaurant is located in a fancy, new mall where everything seems to be high priced, so I guess it's no surprise this place is expensive. Our food, not including wine, cost over $33 for EACH of us. For average food, this was outrageous. Place was crowded on a Saturday night, but I really wonder why? Much better values in Austin. The father of the birthday girl got quite a shock when he received the bill.

Not Sure it's Clean...

By SpanningTheGlobe |

Service was good and the food was pretty good, but the restaurant had an underlying odor that was very off-putting. My best guess is that it was a musty/mildew smell stemming from a dirty mop. They odor was very noticeable in the lobby, and less so in the dining area. I would probably go back, but would leave immediately if the odor was still prevalent.

Use to be the best

By Ron B |

This place use to be the best and tonight was beyond disappointmenting!!! Service was horrible and the food, that use to be the best Italian food around Austin, was so bad!! I do not write reviews ever, but this was so bad!! What happened to this great restaurant!!!

Lots of good food

By dalemal48 |

They serve up good food & lots of it . Plus you can take an additional meal home for free. Would definitely go back. Service was very good

Great service!

By Kim L |

My siblings and I took my mom here for her birthday dinner. We called ahead to get reservations for 16 and the table was waiting for us when we arrived. We received our drinks in a timely manner and were able to order from the expansive menu. One of the things that impressed me was that my mom wanted something that *used* to be on the menu, so she told the server and they made it for her! As long as they have the ingredients, they will make a custom dish! Wow! The kids meals were well-priced and sufficient (we had 7 kids 12 and under with us). The regular menu is a little pricey, but the pasta dishes are a steal because you get one to eat and one to go (lunches for the week!). We were there on a weekend, so I ordered from the brunch menu and wasn't disappointed. Not too many calories and a delicious, well-priced frittata. After stuffing ourselves, my mom still wanted creme brulee for dessert, but since it was her birthday, the servers had planned to bring out a giant hunk of chocolate cake, so they brought both, along with the candles we brought AND they didn't charge us for either dessert! They were generously tipped! We will return for special occasions for sure!!!

Great place to eat but pricey for little grandchildren to eat at

By AttyVette |

Eating with family celebrating a late Thanksgiving. It’s prevent imo socially for little ones eating so we didn’t get the family style meals since they couldn’t eat $14 worth of n food. Anyways, I ordered the filet Mignon to share.

Great food but tough on a solo traveller

By Chris E |

The food was great but portions are so large it’s tough for a solo traveller. But I can’t ding them for that. The quality of my meal was great (I had the Italian salad and the salmon Oscar). The salmon was cooked perfectly (as was the asparagus). And the staff was super friendly and attentive. Unfortunately I had no room left for dessert. I would for sure be back for some of the share plates.

Both classy and relaxed, plus great service!

By Tahlia88 |

A group of ladies from my office were at the Domain for celebratory mani/pedis on a Thursday night and we spontaneously decided to head over to Maggiano's for dinner. They got us a table for six immediately and delivered us some appetizers quickly. Our server was great about juggling all the orders for appetizers and drinks, which all came at different times during our two hour stay. He even mixed me up a delicious virgin Hurricane, when I asked for something fun/fruity/non-alcoholic. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was a nice mix of fancy and relaxed. I also love that for $13, I got TWO full sized portions of pasta--one for eating and the other in a to-go box. Talk about awesome! My only complaint is that in the whirlwind of ordering, I ended up being the only person to get an entree and after a 30-45 minute wait, I was super confused about how a simple fettuccine alfredo could be taking so long. The waiter addressed my concern promptly, but it meant that I had to take a few hasty bites and then pack it up because the rest of my group was leaving :( . I'll definitely be coming back with my husband to eat here sometime soon, though.

Not as good as remembered

By dil345 |

We went here for a lunch on a Tuesday. They were out of the appetizer calamari. The food was just average but the bread was pretty good.

2 in 1 meal! Great deal!

By Maria Eduarda B |

I went out for a dinner in Maggianos since I got great feedbacks. I came quite late - restaurant was almost closing - but the service and food were really good! They have this ‘buy 1 meal and take one home’ so the price is actually good if you go prepared and chose something you can take home. I will definitely come back for a lunch to try another meal :)

Sad

By Cyclops |

What it supposed to be a birthday celebration end up as a bad experience, waiter was in a bad mood and his service was poor, at the end the manager saved the celebration with an apology and some check discount and a free dessert for my friend. Food was good as usual, but the Customer service needs to improve.

Wow

By ilymuniz |

Very delicious food and so much fun to take a second plate home! I have never seen this done before and let's just say the next day I enjoyed an amazing lasagna for lunch! Wowza what a deal 😍 thanks again for the amazing service!

Special night

By Edgard B |

A very special night for the family. We were invited to take part in a celebration for our son and his girlfriend. Atmosphere was very nice and the weather pleasant since we sat outside for dinner. The server just provided the basic service and seemed very busy with other tables as well. Did not go the extra mile! Food and drinks were average. I guess I expected more for the prices, but our son picked up the tab. We paid the tip (20%) which was way over what I would've paid if not for the occasion.

Good Food

By 81JCL |

The chopped salad was as usual excellent. The drinks were fine. The entree (chicken Marsala) was great. However, our one black spot was the server. This person was asked for a beer and came back to say that the one requested was not available - it was on the menu. A good substitute was served. We ordered dessert and it was good, We also ordered dessert for take-out. When the bill arrived I was charged for the beer that was not available! The take -out dessert was not in the bag that was put on the table - the bag contained my wife's leftover entree. We were charged for the take-out. The server was given a credit card and when the receipt came back there was no credit card with it. Server said it possibly fell out of his pocket. Perhaps the server was having a bad day, but there was a constant stream of mistakes. This made us very uncomfortable. We go frequently to magician and we intend to go back since the food is so good. We hope management takes a look.

Great location in the Domain and the restaurant was busy and full of life - food was very good!

By debtay74 |

Great menu - great food. Really enjoyed the experience. We looked at it for company meeting space in the future as well - think it would be perfect for that.

Disappointed

By surfinbird81 |

Nice restaurant inside, but food was bland and way overpriced. Took 3 hours to get in and out for a family birthday celebration. Had much better tasting fettuccine Alfredo at Olive Garden for much better price.

Great meal right across from our hotel. Nicely priced appetizers. Great food!! Very good with young children. Good Drinks.

Awful eggplant parmigiana

By Bill W |

Awful eggplant parmigiana. Burned to a crisp and harder than a discus. Manager came over but didn’t offer any discount, not even dessert. This used to be a really good restaurant but it’s going downhill

Fast & friendly

By MauriMouse |

Seems to be more of an adult restaurant due to the atmosphere. Great lighting, fancy plates, & chairs. The staff is friendly & seems to be very educated on their menu. Staff attends to you fast. The wait time for food is regular. I feel that it was a bit pricey but the food was definetly worth the price.

A Taste of Italy in Austin

By JeanGB |

For our last evening in Austin and having done some “retail therapy” in the Domain shopping centre we came across this delightful Italian style restaurant. The staff were really helpful and made very useful suggestions re the extensive menu for which we were very grateful. The food was quite authentic and the atmosphere made us think we were really in Italy for the evening. Well worth a visit.

Good food, good service

By lucsimsthomas |

The whole family ate here on a Saturday night that clearly also was prom night for some. But the food and the service were both great. I had the Chicken Marsala and it was pretty good. We all got the deals that allowed us to take home an extra dish. My son had the spaghetti and meatballs and said it was good. Our server was also attentive and nice even though it was an extra busy night with prom guests. We had a great family meal here, which we don't get to do much anymore, and the atmosphere was great.

The only place we visited twice

By Sergio O |

So, what do you do on a business trip, 2 weeks duration and over 20 restaurant recommendations? Go to Maggiano's twice in a row, this is certainly one of the best restaurants in The Domain, the menu is nearly perfect all over, the service is top notch and the quality is second to none, a definitive recommendation and I will be coming back on my next trip to Austin,

Great Food, Service and Ambiance!

By BensMom2 |

Dined here with my family because we had an enjoyable experience at the Maggiano's at Northpark in Dallas and decided to give it a try. Erin was a perfect server! She was knowledgeable about the menu, her customer service skills were impeccable and she was attentive to our needs. Even brought out some of the Lemon Cookies because she thought we needed them! And we even ordered some desserts! It was a happening place but our food came out in a timely manner. The only negative I have is we couldn't text the Valet person to have our car out because no one could get any interest in the restaurant. But they got our car pretty quickly even though it looked like there was only one person working valet.

Birthday celebration

We enjoyed our lunch with family to celebrate a birthday in the group. Food was delicious and the service was good. Very attentive staff.

A nice Italian restaurant in Austin

By Thepik |

We ate at this restaurant while in Austin this past week. They accommodated a larger table. The appetizers were came quick and were really good. I had a steak, but should have gotten pasta as it looked delicious. A bit more fancy than I had expected but a good night out.

Went there for our Anniversary

By tammymkim5 |

Great food! Manager came out and wished us a Happy Anniversary. Great staff. Everyone was friendly and helpful. They even made us a small cookie plate with Congratulations on it!

Baby Daughter's 26th Birthday

By Michael M |

My wife and daughters love to go to Maggiano's whenever possible. We usually go to one of the Houston locations but our youngest daughter lives in Austin so we went to the Domain location. Our service was prompt and attentive. The servers were friendly and all of the food came out as we ordered. The entrée did follow the salad a little quickly, though. I don't typically enjoy Italian fare too much, so I had a hard time deciding what to order. Fortunately, we came between the lunch and dinner rushes that are typical of a Saturday. I was trying too hard to make it just right. After much time, I ordered the chicken marsala entrée with ziti pasta. The chicken was not very moist and not very appetizing. I did not enjoy the sauce on the chicken. It reminded me of a brown gravy that would be in a stew. It was too thick and I did not enjoy the taste. The pasta came with garlic and butter, so I should have been more specific in that regard. I also ordered a Maggiano's salad, which was very good. The crispy zucchini dish was spot on, as always. I should have stopped with the salad and zucchini. Although I did not enjoy my entree much at all, my wife and daughter really enjoyed the Rigatoni D they always order. Based on the fact that I am the odd one out in terms of enjoying Italian fare of this type, I would still rate this as a very good restaurant with an excellent staff.

Maggiano’s is love!

By Felix A |

I first thought, why on earth my travel agent will book me here, Im in Texas and why italian food. But I love it! I love the place, its fine dining and the food is great. The pasta and and cheesecake, I should have tasted the tiramisu but anyway, I love the place.

Wonderful lunch after getting a manicure pedicure

By Jan F |

Went to get a manicure pedicure at Caesars and decided to do lunch across the street at Maggiano's. Wonderful grilled salmon salad and capris tomatoes. Did not miss the carbs as it was also so tasty and fresh. Waitress made me an ice tea to go. Service and atmosphere very nice. Also had a great hot stone foot massage at Caesar's . What better way to pamper your self than a mani/pedi followed by an excellent lunch.

Awsome, Need I Say More?

By Computerdog2 |

This sure beats Olive garden, in price and taste. We paid for one meal and got a free entree to take home. We didn't have to pick the same as we had for lunch. The food was owesome. I got so full, I had to take half my meal home.

Nice restaurant in a great location. It was very pretty and the food was good! We had a nice booth and enjoyed the atmosphere.

An OK experience

By TravelWell040 |

This was our second visit in a month. The first time in late April was an occasion to meet friends we had not seen in almost 20 years. The restaurant was very noisy (we literally had to lean toward each other to hear the words) with the Sunday Brunch crowd and children crying. Unless you have earplugs, I don't recommend Sunday Brunch. We were so engrossed in the conversation with our friends that I cannot comment on the meal or the service. The second time was this past week on a weekday around 1 PM because we wanted to avoid the lunch crowd and have a quiet meal. Overall, the experience was good and quiet. We were immediately seated in an area with no other diners. The food was very good and we were offered additional small meals to take home at no charge. For an appetizer we shared the Calamari Fritte which was crisp. For the main meal we had the Chicken and Spinach Manicotti and the Baked Eggplant Parmesan. The manicotti was good, but the eggplant was overcooked and dry. Our waiter, Brandon, was courteous and eager to please. BUT: He was very young, and we guess not very experienced. He needs training in attention to the customer. We had to ask for the wine menu and to fill our water glasses. It took him a long time to deliver our wine and refills when there were only a few diners in the restaurant. He only checked on us immediately after our main course was delivered. We had to call for him every time we needed something. He seemed to disappear when he could have checked to see if we needed something or at least look at the table to see if the water glasses were full. We don't expect every five minutes, but at least twice during the main course walk by to see what is needed.

A taste of Italy

By pbradford2014 |

The service was the best I have had anywhere in a long time. When placing my order I spoke to the waiter about my shellfish allergy as I always do when dining out. The manager came out after the order was placed to tell me what was being done to assure my health and well being. I was impressed. The food made my mouth go, "wow!" The restaurant was full of families and friends obviously enjoying their food and experience. We will definitely go back!

Good italian place at The Domain

By amezam |

Delicious food and fast service. There are some options without lactose for those that are intolerant. I highly recommend the salmon, it is amazing!

Big chain mass market Italian

By utfiero |

Arrival/hostess: prompt seating Overall dining experience: relaxed for a large restaurant and our server Zechariah was very nice. But don't come here for fine cuisine. Come for large portions of mass market Italian Ambiance: New York City Italian Food: focus is on large portions rather than quality. We had the fried zucchini for an appetizer. It was greasy and lackluster. Two in our party had the salmon Oscar, and the third had an Italian seafood noodle soup. The salmon Oscar included generous crab and was served on a small bed of spinach. The sauce was very rich. Although the salmon tasted good, later that evening one in our party had severe stomach problems. Since we all had the zucchini, it must have been the salmon oscar that caused the stomach issues. Cleanliness: overall clean including clean bathrooms

Great Italian food

By conniesej |

The service was great and the food was wonderful. The parking is a bit challenging. The restaurant is in the mall so you can shop and eat. This mall call The Domain is huge like lots of thing in Taxes.

Just okay

By dil345 |

I would say for the most part service was very good. I chose spaghetti and meat sauce and it was good. The bread was fresh. It's not a place I would seek out for outstanding food.

Dont open until 4 pm but great food

Maggiano's Little Italy

By Mlarsen880 |

Had a great experience at Maggiano's, party of six on New Year's Eve. Had reservations at 9:00PM , we were quickly seated and proceeded to ordered right away. The food was extremely well prepared and everyone had a great meal. Great service.

Great Food

By Elisha K |

This weekend before Memorial Day weekend was busy with many graduations parties, but we got a table for 2 quickly. Wine selection was nice, food choices broad and food delicious. We always wind up bring food home from any location we visit, Austin was no exception. We've never gotten a bad meal here.

Tasty and gluten free (options)

By Eva L |

Maggiano's is good food and there are plenty of options, for all flavors. The event luncheon I attended offered two types of salads, crusty bread and family style spaghetti pasta with red sauce and ravioli as the main dish. There were two special diet participants at the table and the wait staff very quickly served those plates. I totally blew the diet that day, because the apple tart for dessert was divinely sinful. Yummmmmmmy!

My favorite Italian food!

By Tbg31 |

I love the chopped salad, the quiet atmosphere and the feeling of a good family dinner. The bread is delicious. We had the lobster carbonara and the chicken piccata. Both were delicious. Food was hot and fresh, service was attentive but not interruptive. I very nice meal.

Good Food Horrible Service

By travellistics |

Food was good, nothing spectacular but good, prices ok, but service was horribly slow, and there was not much people in the restaurant as we went to dinner early, We got a meal package and got 2 pastas to go, the ravioli were great even if they were microwaved.

Loved it!

By Michael N |

Amazing! We didn't know about the reservations, but the wait for seating wasn't long at all. The food and drinks were all great and the staff was professional and sweet. We definitely will be going back

Can Accomodate Large Group Easily

By evanspeggy |

I went to this restaurant with 14 other people. The restaurant was able to accommodate us with great seating and quick service. I had the salmon salad and sauteed vegetables. My colleagues had such items as crab cakes, sea bass, steak, lasagna, and spaghetti. Some of the items on the menu allow you to eat one and take one for a low price. One of my colleagues had a dirty martini and she greatly enjoyed it. I had wine which was nice and cold. Another colleague had fried Zucchini. I ate one of the wide fries and it was wonderful, not to greasy and had a crisp taste. The restaurant tables and seats are done in dark wood, seating is comfortable and everything is nice and clean. There is great climate control- It was hot outside but felt just right in the restaurant. There were several families with kids and babies present.

The service here is crazy good

By ofeelia9 |

Well so my friend and I stumbled in here, hung over, in search of marinara sauce and espresso martinis. Our server, Justin, was professional, friendly and efficient and somehow magically made my migraines go away by the time he placed that giant piece of tiramisu in front of me.

Momma Mia

By pdSixty8 |

It has a been quite a while since I have dined at Maggiàno’s Little Italy, except for takeout during covid. Located across the street from our hotel it was open on Sunday and they were having a silent auction for Make-A-Wish with sports and celebrity mementos on display. The place was busy so decided to sit at the bar. I forgot how much wood this place has giving it an old luxurious feel. I dressed up in business attire but saw many wearing shirts and shorts. The bar was solid and the bartender very attentive to our needs. I ordered a glass of wine and the Mushroom Ravioli Al Forno. My wife ordered the Spaghetti & Meatball and the Garlic Bread, made with Truffle Ricotta Butter & Italian Cheese, as a starter. We had a lot of bread to eat including French bread which was placed in front of us to dip from a plate of olive oil. The Garlic bread was a huge loaf and could have been a meal in itself. It was so soft to peel off with gourds of melted cheese stretching for dear life before hitting my mouth. We ate about half of this delicious bread however needed to save room for our lunch. The ravioli was floating in alfredo sauce where each one had great flavor and very tasty. It was nicely presentable on a beautiful plate. I enjoyed it very much. Th other plate had a giant meatball positioned on top of a mound of spaghetti. My wife said it was superb and since it was so much we took half of it home with along with the garlic bread. We left feeling full and feeling good dining here.

Unbelievable service combined with excellent food.

By okie_wanderer |

My nephew’s wedding rehearsal luncheon was held at this Maggiano’s. First, I have to give a huge Thank You & kudos to Ralph, Steve & Leo. They were amazing & made our event run without a hitch. Also, we went well over our time & they did not rush us at all. The room was well set up & surprisingly comfortable. The 3 appetizers, 4 entrees & 2 desserts were all served family style & there was extra of each when we were finally finished. To say everything tasted great is an understatement - each item was fantastic & obviously fresh. I highly recommend Maggiano’s at the Domaine & look forward to returning while visiting Round Rock or Austin.

Great Place!

Wish I lived in Austin, I just love this restaurant! Well, I don't so I only get to go occasionally but haven't yet been disappointed. Great ambiance, great food & friendly, helpful servers. Can't wait to go back!

Food Too Good To Be True

By blunny |

Attended a PHA informational seminar on proper diet for PHA's. The food service was boarding house style. 4 choices of appetizers, entree's and desserts. All exceptional tasty. Room was comfortable 40+ and speaker with slide show. Food server moved food and replaced empty plates with precision. Valet parking or a garage within walking distance. Gave you go boxes to take dessert with you. Thought the valet charge was a little high.

Not up to Standards

By TravelWell040 |

We returned to Maggiano's at around 2:45 PM after a long absence and were disappointed. We were greeted immediately by the hostess and seated us in the back section after we told her we wanted to be away from other diners especially children. However, within 10 minutes the hostess sat four loud patrons in the next booth, and then another couple behind them. The restaurant was totally empty otherwise, but the hostess sat all diners in a tight cluster. This situation was not good for anyone. It took too long for our wine to arrive especially when there was only a few occupied tables in the main dining area. The food was mediocre. The Calamari was undercooked, mushy. The Parmesan Crusted Tilapia was undercooked also, but not to the point of sending it back. Besides, the loud group next to us was getting on our nerves. The wait staff was adequate. I doubt we will return to Maggiano's.

Wonderful Christmas Lunch

By Elizabeth W |

I was with 3 other folks. Another co worker and myself ordered the Filet Mignon and the Risotto. It was melt in you mouth delicious. Another co worker ordered the pasta of which you get another to take home. Another ordered veal and loved it. Ordered the cherry chocolate cake which I took home and ate bits and pieces for 5 days until it was gone. It was a huge piece, rich but very good.

Loved use of banquet rooms

By okiecruiser4331 |

Attended a work training that was held in this restaurant in one of their private dining areas. Maggiano’s went above and beyond providing delicious breakfast, lunch and dessert options for pick-me-up in the afternoons! They kept the coffee well supplied and staff was very attentive. This was a great facility.

Great Holiday family meal

By Ruby C |

We have eaten 2 family style meals there for the holidays. The food and service was excellent. Our server Felipe was the best.

Wow, yum!!

By Lyndi M |

This was my first ever visit to this restaurant. Our waitress Emily was wonderful. The food was great. Drinks were awesome!! Really enjoyed the atmosphere too. I had the lasagna & took home the spaghetti. Yummy!!! I’m not a mojito fan so probably won’t order that again. I did taste the pomegranate martini though - yummy!!!

Great Business Dinner

We are here for a conference and we were quite pleased with choosing to eat dinner at Maggiano’s at the domain. I love this classy restaurant! Our server was great, our food was delicious and the manager went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. The lemon cookies are an absolute must as well!

A delicious lunch

My uncle and I came here for a late lunch with a friend of ours. We all had different pasta dishes. We enjoyed our meals. The service of staff was great. We will come here again.

Fancy, but not too fancy.

By Shelly L |

We were in town for a family gathering. We were staying at a nearby hotel within walking distance. Wandered around and finally decided to stop in for a bit of lunch. This place is BEAUTIFUL. Reminded us of old hotel lobby restaurant. Beautiful wood, white table cloths etc. We were dressed somewhat casual, but were welcomed in. We were asked if this was our first time. Being that we were visiting from out of town, yes indeed it was. After looking over the menu, I wasn't quite finding what I wanted, even though everything looked great. Finally I asked our waiter if I could have a small side of pasta with sauce and a salad. And he said "of course". My husband ordered the same, but added a meat ball. It was just right for a lunch, tasted great. Later the manager came by to see how everything was. Told him we enjoyed it all. The place was full of folks celebrating birthdays, girls lunches out, Valentines, but it felt very orderly. If we make it back to this part of Austin again, this will be our go to place. The manager told us they were looking for a place in Oklahoma to expand. Come to Bricktown, we told him, there is a nice empty place vacated by another so called Italian place ready and waiting. Nice place visit!

Extremely Disappointing

By GrillMaster47 |

Our party of six was promptly seated at our reservation time. From there, it went straight downhill, which was disappointing because we've dined here before and enjoyed it. To start off, my son ordered a cocktail based on the server's suggestion. It was nothing like she described. He sent it back and it was removed from the bill. We asked the server several questions about selections from the buy one, take one to go part of the menu. In particular, I asked her to describe the Braised Beef Pappardelle, which she said was like beef stroganoff. We placed our orders and waited, and waited, and waited, during which time we saw our server once, when she delivered a bottle of wine I ordered for the table. I did not time it, but it was at least 45 minutes before we got our meals. The Pappardelle did slightly resemble stroganoff, but the chucks of beef were tiny, with lots of pasta. The sauce was bland--almost no taste. The total amount of beef must have been about two ounces. My son took one bite of his and it was a glob of fat smothered in the sauce. He sent it back. It took 20 minutes to bring a different meal after he asked what he could order which could be prepared quickly. We were told by the server that the meal to go MUST be the same as what we ordered for dinner, but we really didn't want to take the same thing home, so a manager took care of that. The other dishes were ok, but not great. We finally saw our server again when she brought the dessert menus. The desserts were good. The entire experience took over two and one half hours. Thankfully our twin (almost) eight year old granddaughters are patient and well-behaved. I will not go back.

Not bad, not great

Ate here with a group. Food was decent but nothing spectacular. Had several shared dishes as a group.

Served Uncooked Potato Wedges Disgusting!

By travels_frequently |

Ordered the Chicken Parmigiana and Meatball Sandwiches. Served with uncooked potato wedges, disgusting!!! Waitress offered to replace, but it took so long that we had already finished the rest of our meal and were still waiting for the potato wedges to arrive. This time the potato wedges were cooked and tasted way better, but we really lost our appetite by then. We were offered absolutely nothing for their uncooked screw up. Other restaurants would offer you a discount, a free desert, etc. Even our waitress disappeared several times and we could not find her when we needed something. Maggiano's in Las Vegas is tops, this was bland and being served uncooked food left little to be desired. We would never eat here again!

Good Food, but not Great

By andypandaNashville |

We went to Dinner for My Niece's Birthday, My Brother and I had the Marco's Meal for Two, and I had the Braised Beef and Rigatoni Pasta, and My Brother had the Chicken Parmesan and the Beef which normally cost $20.95 was fatty and very little meat and because of the cost definitely would not recommend it because it was mostly cheap pasta, and the chicken was Dry, my Niece got the Hand cut Fettuccine and grilled Chicken, for Appetizers we got the Crispy Zucchini Frittie, and the Spinach and Artichoke Dip which were Good. We got Pastas to go Home which I can not address. Service was very Good and Friendly. My Niece got the Chocolate Cake to go. So would not Recommend the Braised Beef.

Food and Service A+++

By Linda G |

Went to Maggiano's for lunch with a friend and had a ball. Our server, Simone, was just a delight! The food was amazing - had the Braised Beef Pappardelle. It was delicious! Ended the meal with a Cappuccino and generous dessert. Had a great time and will be sure to visit again!

Don't Sit at the bar

By jziii |

Went Sat. 9/3 to eat here. Restaurant was full but the bar area had plenty of seating. We sat in a booth then waited for about 10 mins with no service. A family came in after us sat at a bar next to us and a waiter promptly took their drink order and gave them menus. When I stopped him to let him know we wanted to order he responded by saying "you are not sitting in my section". Yet he was the only waiter we saw and was serving the booth next to us and a table across from us. Told the manager what happened. He was very apologetic but our dinning experience had been ruined. We eat here every time we come to Austin. This was by far the worst experience I've had with this restaurant.

Quality and Service have gone down hill....

By Barbara G |

3rd time to eat here over several years ~ seems to have turned into a Olive Garden style restaurant. Service was slow and bad - clearing plates before done, food quality was awful - one pasta dish was served in pasta water instead of sauce, chicken was charred and dry. When we did receive service it was rushed - not even asking us if we wanted dessert.... The buy one take one home dinners are "service food - pre-prepared at best" Not what you expect from a high quality restaurant. Will not be back ~

Back for a second bite

By Tis_Brian |

Start off with the Ham, Pimento, and Olives appetizer. Very good, reasonably priced and one person could make a full meal out of it. The Linguine di Mare(Lobster, Shrimp, Mussels, Clams, Spicy Tomato Lobster Sauce) great dish. Pesto Romesco(Pasta, sausage, chicken, in a pesto sauce) This was good but not as good as I have had previously here. The dish was dry, needed more sauce, and short on the pesto flavor.

Upscale Italian in Austin

By GunnyFred |

Attended a birthday luncheon. Overall the food was good except a little dry [pork loin] due to the catering factor. First batch of salmon was slightly overcooked but the next was soft and juicy. Pasta was properly cooked. Wait staff appeared a little short-handed so service was a little slow. But overall, the food and atmosphere was good and the restaurant was clean]. Cheesecake and chocolate cake were delicious.

Italian food but American, a shame

By Francisco Herna... C |

This Italian restaurant, the location is very similar in all the cities where it is located and it is beautiful and comfortable. The fried calamari is abundant and very good, but the mom lassagna is an American dish because it has little lassagna, the sauce is tomato and is spicy. Very little Italian and very American. It surprised me and I left half of it. By the way, if you like it, the plate is very big. The Chocolate Layared Cake slice is very good and is for two due to its size. Prices good. There is a menu option for two for 49.99 which is good.

Better than average Italian food

By brian796 |

When visiting this chain in any city, I always know what to expect... Better than average Italian food at a higher price to match. The side salads are generous and tasty. For my most recent stay at this location, I had the chicken parm for the main course and was not disappointed. The bread was good. No complaints.

Everyone loves the 2 meals for 1 price.

By theduke642 |

We recently went to Maggianos for a birthday. We initially made reservations for 830 but realized we would arrive an hour earlier than expected. The accommodated us within 15 minutes of arriving. The waiting area and dining area decor gives an old-time Italy type feel. There is a nice bar with a dark wood style set up. The menu selection is fantastic and the food tastes delicious. The calamari appetizer was the freshest tasting fired calamari I have ever eaten. I would recommend any of the vodka-based sauces. I had the Gnocchi noodles plate. I highly recommend it. Most of our party selected dishes from the buy one - take one menu. You get two full-sized meals for one price. The first is brought to the table, and the second is brought out fully prepped for taking home. I got to say, the Lasagna may taste even better the next day as leftovers. We paid about $20 per person for food and drinks with our party of 8. Our waiter was fantastic so I tipped accordingly. They did not automatically add gratuity for our party of 8.

Loved it

By tblpastir |

A short 5 block walk from m the Westin at the Domain, this is a real treat! Be sure to make reservations so you don't have to wait when you arrive. Despite its enormous size, each table feels like it's own trattoria. Wide variety on the menu. Lighter versions of many classic dishes are available. Portions are very generous, come out piping hot, and taste terrific! Wait staff is very knowledgeable and attentive. They offer "bites" of their desserts for calorie conscious diners who really want that tiramisu or chocolate cake but know they shouldn't have more than a bite.

Not as good as it used to be; prices still reasonable

Highlights: The place is still very warm and welcoming. The service is moderately quick and the restaurant is not too loud. The pricing is average. The great thing they provide (for about 42 US $) is the 2 for 2 (not the exact name) with which you can order 2 dishes from their Classic Pasta menu (lasagna, baked ziti, spaghetti, eggplant parmigiana, ...) and get 2 other Classic pasta dishes to go for the next day. It also includes a choice of one appetizer or two salads and a dessert (go for the cheesecake, it is phenomenal). Lowlights: We cook a lot and had been several times to Maggiano's Little Italy; we have noticed that the food is not as good as it used to be. What we mean by that is that the sauces are not as rich as they used to be, the meat not as tasty, and the pasta average. We ordered langostino lobster (for an extra 5 US $) and the dish was disappointingly bland. We had 2 at our table and both were the same. Our server was rude, as he took our order, he kept on rolling his eyes and shrugging at our changes in orders (we just swapped our to go meals). I'll leave it at that. One thing to be aware of is that you have to order all your to go pasta dishes with your dine-in ones, so if you want to try something out for dine-in and happen to like it, you cannot order it to go unless you do that when you first order. I guess this is due to the way they process their orders in the kitchen; just FYI.

All in all - a good place to get a bite.

We drove by looking for some Italian food and ended up here. Everything was pretty good, the staff was friendly but it was a bit too noisy. We couldn't really talk much or hear each other sitting at the same table. But we enjoyed the food!

Brunch Anyone

By Joel G |

Recently, Maggiano's started offering brunch in Austin. The crabcakes Benedict was cooked to perfection. The ambience was wonderful and cocktails were reasonably priced. The service was a bit slow but the place continues to provide quality food in a great atmosphere. My fiance and I will definitely return.

"What in Tarnation" ??????

4 Stars for atmosphere other than the weird Wedding portraits dotting the dining room? Is this for a Banquet Advertisement?? Strange! We have eaten at several Maggiano's......So we have a clear idea of expectations. Ceasar Salad is outstanding as is the Tiramisu. However, that holds very little star level when the main courses are horrific. I ordered my usual Shrimp Scampi which arrived overloaded with COLD dry (heavy) spaghetti noodles topped with COLD overcooked dry shrimp that looked like they had been sitting around in the back, with a watery BLAND sauce. I squeezed 3, yes THREE roasted lemon halves all over it and added 1/2 Cup of Parmesan to kick it up. My husband ordered the Chicken Parmesan. When it was put in front of him, I knew instantly it was a complete disaster. The chicken was not filleted, NOT HOT, but rather a chunky piece that was dry, with a taste of burnt coating, not enough sauce whatsoever, cold cheese over the top. The rigatoni was more than al dente and again, skimpy-skimpy on the sauce. Because we were there for a celebration neither one of us complained to the other DURING our meal, so not to taint the importance of our celebration. We ordered 2 coffees with our desserts. I added a few drops of cream which turned the coffee WHITE! My husband drinks his black and did say at this point how this tasted like brown water!!! There is NO MORE FINE Italian dining to be had here. WE WILL NEVER DINE AT A MAGGIANO"S again!

Birthday dinner

I was surprised my 15 year old daughter choose this restaurant but a great choice. Everything we ordered was delicious. Will definitely return.

Amazing!

By grayfish4 |

What a wonderful dinner with our niece and nephew! Great atmosphere and food. The only nit picky thing would have been was to enjoy our bread with spices and oil. Other than that, and it's a small thing, we enjoyed our food and the flavors were excellent!

Absolutely Delicious

By rachel n |

We went here for our friends birthday and really went wild with several appetizers, desserts, and a different entree for each individual. Not a single thing we ate here was sub par and we left very happy. I absolutely loved the pepperoni risotto balls and the little lemon cookies they gave us at the end for her birthday was divine. Check them out. Best italian food I have had in quite some time.

Great prices, great food

Atmosphere was awesome. The interrior looks upscale but the customers were dressed casually. Nice place, will return.

Great proteins ok pasta

I feel a bit odd giving an Italian restaurant 4 stars when their pasta was left to be desired but their veal and chicken were fantastic. We are there 3 nights on our trip and for good reasons.

Best Italian foods in Texas, USA

By Austin T |

If you are visiting Austin, Texas (USA) and have room in your tummy for delicious Italian dishes, then this is the place. My family and I are the FANs here now. Our appetizers are ‘Crispy zucchini fritté’ & ‘Calamari fritté’ are heavenly delicious 😋. Our entree’s are PrimeRibeye 🥩 , spaghetti 🍝, my kiddos has different of pasta and seafood. Our desserts are the ultimate cheese 🍰. The portions are good side dish for hungry folks like us. The pasta dishes also BOGO (buy one and get one) to take home. This deal is a bonus for us. 4.5hrs later writing this review and my mouth still drooling just to think of great Italian dishes from here. My lady server was awesome 👏 and the manager, the GM even stopping by our table and say “Hello and want to know if our foods were happy to us”. Today was our first time here and we are already planning to take our family will visiting us to Austin on this July 4th weekend. This Maghiano location in the heart of the new growth high end shopping strip and the parking garage is a 3min walk over. Thank you Maggiano to make our family feel special to dine here! We’ll be back soon...

Things do not go as they should, Great Recovery

By Tis_Brian |

We had dinner reservations tonight at Maggiano's Little Italy in Austin. We arrived on time and were promptly seated, we waited for a waiter to our table for a long time(over 20 minutes) and no water, and no waiter. We were about to get up and leave and the manager, Patrick Mcelmurry stopped at our boot and asked how we were doing. We told him that we were just about to leave as we were tired of waiting for a waiter. His response was beyond what one would have expected. He said "he would be our waiter and the meal was on him for the delay". That is what a call a way to make us a happy customer, no blame, no excuses, only action(he got us water, took our order) made us very happy customers. After getting everything going the waiter assigned came to our booth and took over for the manager. She apologized for what happened and explained what had happened. Now to the excellent food. Linguine di Mare(Lobster, Shrimp, Mussels, Clams, Spicy Tomato Lobster Sauce), very large serving, great flavor, great taste. Pesto Romesco(Orecchiette, Grilled Chicken, Italian Sausage, Ricotta, Pesto Romesco Sauce). This is a new item for Maggiano's. This was excellent. We would both order these dishes again and again. You have to try the carrot cake, but bring a friend, as its a very large portion.

Nice surprise!

By KeyConcierge |

Very nice, open and pleasently lit dining room. Elegant atmosphere and old-fashion intuitive service provided by our lady waitress, a graceful older woman with so much class. Irresistible warm ciabatta bread was placed at the table. My friend had the Chicken Scaloppine, an adequate portion for lunch. I had not realized I had chosen a Chef's special where the same dish is replicated to take home. I had ordered Eggplant Parmesan which is already quite generous and delicious too.

Terrible food! Bad service!

By SheilaEndres |

I have eaten at the Maggiano's in Chicago and enjoyed it, but the one in Austin was pleasant to look at and that's all I can say for it. Went for a family birthday meal, 10 of us. $356 not including mandatory 18% tip. The price would have been fine, except the food and service were so very bad. Two people in the party said their food was good. The other eight complained about their food. The two kids didn't even like their kid's-menu pizza. How bad does it have to be for a kid not to like their like pizza? Mine (Eggplant Parmesan- usually my favorite elsewhere) was so bad I told the waiter I couldn't eat it and asked him to take it away. He didn't offer another alternative, he just took my plate back to the kitchen. If it were my restaurant, I would have sent the manager over, offer an alternative meal, or to take it off the bill or something. But not this restaurant. Nothing. They didn't care. I had several issues with the waiter, Patrick. I can only assume he was new or was heavily distracted because every time he came to check on us, he would help one person and leave right away without waiting for anyone else in the party to respond that we wanted a drink or we wanted to order, or whatever. He came, he smiled, he uttered something and then just walked off, over and over again. Because of him, our meal experience took hours, on a school night, despite the fact that this was midweek and we were seated by 6 pm. It wasn't crowded. I was so disappointed. The birthday girl was so ticked off she left her own bad reviews through other apps.

Too bad :(

We went as a family to celebrate our 20 year Wedding anniversary. I love this place normally and of all the choices I have, I always choose Maggianos. We've never had a bad experience and normally when you mention on your reservation that's it's for your anniversary the waitress is already aware and they help make it extra special. But not Today. Our waitress Brianne never asked if we wanted refills, she was so cold and when we asked for bread she looked annoyed. She stopped coming to our table towards the end until we needed our check. It's sad when you hope to have a special night and you get a waitress that doesn't know how to make your table happy. Also for our anniversary in the past they give you a cookie with a heart candle lit up, and even though it's something so small it makes the night special, Brianne didn't do that, or even ask what we were there for. As a matter of fact she never introduced herself to us, I only have her name from our receipt. Too bad Maggianos, For this reason I will have to think twice about returning especially on our anniversary night. The food was delicious as always, they never disappoint and the Mexican martini was delicious too. Just make sure you don't get Brianne. Maybe she had a bad night?? Who knows....

Great food at great prices

By MaryLeaP1221 |

We just decided to stop by after shopping at the Domain. The portions are large, so be prepared to take food home. No need to order the side salad. The seasonal sangria was very good. The serves was great. Ashley was a super server. The manager came over after learning it was our first time at a Maggiano's. All in all great experience.

Great Cheesecake

By Jim M |

Had the dinner for 2 where you get 1 appetizer, 2 pasta dishes and 1 dessert for $43. Bonus you each get an additional pasta to take home. Great service, very attentive staff.

Great Value and Delicious Food

By Bucky63 |

Portions are very generous and the food is wonderful. Some items come with a second item boxed to "take home" and eat at a later date. Service is outstanding and the decor is very pleasing. Parking is close by. I highly recommend this restaurant when in the Domain area of North Austin.

Wonderful Italian food, wonderful atmosphere

By Mindy M |

I ate here while on a business trip to Austin. I stayed in the Lone Star Court right across the street from Maggiano's. The food was excellent, but the best part was our waiter Nick...he was top notch...very classy, friendly and attentive.

Best Food, Best Wait Service at the Bar and the best Drinks!!!!

By Mary Ann M |

Excellent Food! Excellent Service!!! We enjoyed the food, the bar service, atmosphere, drinks, etc. We went for our 35th Wedding Anniversary and the staff couldn't have been nicer. The food came out right away hot and perfectly made. The Manager Joe and staff at the bar Jazz and Benjamin, greeted us and congratulated us on our anniversary. We ordered from the full menu at the bar and had perfectly made drinks while dining. I can't say enough about the bartenders Jazz and Benjamin as well as the Manager Joe. They were wonderful and the food was great!

Giving it a 2 since the salad

By Beaverto |

Giving it a 2 since the salad was good. Ordered chicken parmigiana and the spinach manicotti since it has good reviews. This was a to go order but my hotel is only 5 minutes away. I think the manicotti was made a week ago and heated up, it comes packaged in a tin that I guarantee is pre-made, it was dry and terrible, nothing like the picture, actually worse than a microwave dinner. The parmigiana was slightly better but not good. I’ve had better experiences eating in, but my guess is it’s not much better at this point. Do not get to go orders as you will likely be disappointed. $54 for trash...except the salads.

Absolute best service with the food quality to beat anyone in town

By BMCW33 |

We had a large group tonight and from the front dest… Abby and Marshall… to the table servers… Erin and oh gosh….I am so sorry…she was AWESOME too….but, NEVER do I come home to run to my computer and write a review… But tonight, it was so worth the time. They were so awesome and the food was EXACT to order. Thank you so much for your sincere attention to detail. We will be back!

Delish!!

Haven't ever been a big fan of Italian cuisine but this place changed my mind. Had the best appetizer. Then ordered Chicken Parmesan and it was wonderful! Tiramisu for dessert. Couldn't have been any better. Waiter was great! Atmosphere excellent! Had a wonderful meal and visit with family I hadn't seen in two years. Definitely recommend. Will go again when back in Austin.

Old Time Italian Restaurant

By Snider577 |

I’m pretty sure I saw the ghost of Frank Sinatra in this place. It has the look and feel of an old time Italian restaurant where the Rat Pack may have hung out. The common areas are great, beautiful traditional wood bar and the bathrooms, while immaculately clean, looked like they belonged in a New York City hotel from the 1940s. The food was very good as well. I was surprised to see a more upscale eatery like this which offered a free take home pasta dish with many of the menu items. An altogether good experience we thoroughly enjoyed.

Huge plates of nice Italian food

A bit noisy place with good food and an acceptable wine list and just pricing, located in a very nice area of the city.

Over-Priced, Cheerless, Incompetent, Humdrum Food

By Cassandra1242 |

Went here for Thanksgiving. Menu looked OK for vegetarians, not great, but not bad. Seemed to be a lot of choice on their special Thanksgiving menu. I'd been here before and dined in the regular dining area, with pleasant lighting, booths & rectangular tables. However, our group was ushered to a dimly-lit, ugly banqueting room containing 5 large round tables. Just some kind of central light on each table would have helped, but the overall ambience was gloomy. And those big round tables make group conversation difficult because you can't hear the people opposite you. The "complimentary" bruschetta starters were small rounds of cold, white, un-toasted bread with a drizzle of balsamic and some olive/tomato stuff. There were two salads, which consisted almost entirely of romaine - a caesar whose dressing was not vegetarian, and a house salad with a little bit of blue cheese and a whole lot of chopped onion. No other fresh veggies in sight. There were two vegetarian pastas. We ate the butternut squash ravioli which was tasteless and somewhat undercooked. And there were sides - creamed this, creamed that . . . I guess if you are cooking for the masses it's easier to just have great vats of overcooked creamed vegetables lurking in the kitchen. My husband and I had planned to ask for vegetable plates, but it turned out that the website, which seemed to indicate abundant choice was misleading. We were supposed to order as a group, after arriving at a consensus of what we wanted to order. Eventually we did manage to snag a variety of veggies because our meat-eating friends ordered different sides from us. But the serving dishes were not large, considering that we were sharing with others, and everything was really, really bland. Think nursing home food. I needed a drink by this time, and ordered a Bourbon Blackcurrant Sour - that was disgustingly sweet, seemed to contain little liquor and left a back of the throat chemical tang akin to margarita mix. I asked the waiter to see if the bar could fix something less sweet, and simply ended up with a diluted version of my original drink. Eventually the waiter comped that, but it was a wretched excuse for a cocktail. The desserts were high-calorie but even mass-produced chocolate cake is hard to beat. We were also presented with an apple crostada served with a smallish scoop of vanilla ice -cream - to split between three people! And let's not forget the service. Our pleasant young waiter obviously lacked experience and kept saying he would need to ask the manager about things. We arrived promptly at 11:45 and did not finish until 3, not because we were feasting and carousing but because it took a solid hour before the waiter even took our order. Drinks took 20-30 mins to arrive. The guy just disappeared for long stretches of time, and we were just left stranded. So the supposedly celebrational meal was a pretty lousy affair and, candidly, paying $39.99 for the set menu was a total rip-off -- as a vegetarian, I know that I can get a quick, hot, tasty 5 vegetable plate at a certain establishment on North Lamar where Janis Joplin used to hang out for one third of that price.

Great Service, Delicious Pasta

By kellkat24 |

The gal who waited on me was very friendly and knowledgable about not just their menu but Italian food in general. She took very good care of me. They have delicious "on-the-house" pasta choices which allow you to not only get a nice meal to eat there at the restaurant, but also one to take home with you! I loved my chicken alfredo with asparagus, and was thrilled to take home some veggie primavera. De-Lish!!

Ate here just because it was across the street from the hotel

By vm647 |

Walked to the restaurant, as it was literally across the street from the hotel, which saved driving/parking. Typical chain restaurant food - just OK, nothing special (and it doesn't matter whether you're at 1 of these restaurants in Austin or Houston). Sigh......

Really, really good

By Randolph L |

They pay attention to the details! The bread was excellent, the pasta was equally excellent. Dessert was delicious

Family Dinner

Maggiano's at the Domain

Friend and I went for lunch. The service was great and the food special for the day was buy an entree and get an entree to take home. We had a delicious lunch and the next night's dinner!

Family Night Out

Beautiful restaurant, great Italian food

By NancyS2 |

At lunch time there were great specials when we went just after New Year's Day. Buy from a selected group of food items, and they "gift" you with one to take home. I love their lasagna! Our waiter (Derril) was awesome, and because they weren't swamped yet with customers, took the time to tell us a little about himself; really enjoyed talking to him. He even brought my friend birthday cookies with a little candle!

Great Lunch!

By Norma B |

I really love your restaurant. Had lunch today with a very longtime friend & it was excellent. Great service from Glenn, meal cooked to perfection. Your restaurant is simply the best. I visit at least 6 times a year+ when I am shopping at the Domaine. Always a wonderful choice for lunch or dinner, wish I lived closer. Realized from the menu they have brunch. OMG, have to go! It sounds wonderful.

Love this placeee

By denise g |

Just went here for lunch today. It's been the best place to get Italian that I could find in the states (I'm sure there's something better elsewhere). I ate the shrimp scampi and was a little put off by the size (it's the American in me), but boy was I wrong. I thought I was going to just slurp it down and be hungry, but 2 hours later...I'm still full. Definitely go here people, and not just because it's Austin, but because the restaurant is amazing!

Always good

By Monique G |

We went to a Maggiano’s a lot before we moved. Now we don’t have one close. So we took the opportunity when we were in the area. First time we brought our kids (6 and 4) to a Maggiano’s. They enjoyed it as much as we did. They never seem to disappoint. Happy to see they have lighter options on the menu now!

Birthday Dinner

By Cgayle98 |

Had lasagna and they sent one home as well ! Was very good, but extra salty - worked out though with the warm homemade delish bread.

Will be a while before going back

By Tis_Brian |

There are chain restaurants with better food, such as Olive Garden, if you want to go to a chain restaurant. Personally finding a local restaurant with good local ingredients and knowledgeable chef would be a better choice. Service was good and fast, that is the high point. The mussels were ok but not anything special. The lasagna was over cooked, with very little sauce between the layers of pasta. The top layer had burnt un-edible edges. In other words a boring meal with no high points.

Bad service

By ssucre |

After a long trip we wanted pasta, we decided in Maggiano's should be good. Well, not. We ordered because according to them everything is freshly made. Based on this a changed the choice on my pasta sauce, I wanted plain bolagnesa. My friends wanted the sauce set aside. The entire ordered came wrong and waitress did not even bother to write down our order. The worst service and it's expensive. Not worthy the top price.
