Reminded Us of One of our Favorites

By Pat B |

Normally, after I found out this was a chain, I would have passed. However, it was just across the street from our hotel, and my husband had booked reservations, we went and am I ever glad! This was a bustling restaurant with a fun atmosphere, reminiscent of our favorite NYC Mulberry St restaurant. Matt waited on us and is amazing, no empty water or wine glasses, timing dishes correctly, so that we had an enjoyable evening. Although they were busy on a Friday, our reservation time was met and we never felt hurried to turn the table. As for dinner, the Chianti recommended was perfect. Salads consumed were the Chopped and the Maggiano's, similar but different. The blue cheese was amazing (and I do love my CA Point Reyes) and served in large chunks which made it even better. Loved the house dressing. My husband enjoyed the Shrimp Diavolo and I had the Lobster Carbonara. Needless to say they both were excellent. The Diavolo sauce was spicy; however, not so fiery that we exhausted the taste buds, and the hand cut fettuccine was superb. Also, the lobster dish was wonderful, the smoky bacon and truffle sauce set it apart. Needles to say, we could not eat all the food, so took back to the hotel lunch for the next day. However, that did not stop us from having the Tiramisu! It was light and tasty. The next evening, my hip was bothering me, so rather than going out, my husband picked up carryout. We ordered a Family Meal choosing the Maggiano salad, Mom's Lasagna, Chicken Marsala, and accompanied by the Ciabatta rolls, and Vera's Lemon Cookies (which we ate the next morning with coffee). We had to order the Tiramisu one more time before we left the city! The family meal for 2, would have served 3, so lunch another day.

Convenient

By Global Trekking |

We stopped by for dinner after a long day at the convention center nearby we had a 30 minute wait due to the high volume from the nearby convention hotels. Our server were attentive the food was good however the location in Charlotte NC has outstanding food. This is great choice based on the convenient close proximity to the convention center and hotels.

Good Italian food but not worth the wait

By 386trugrit |

This restaurant is very busy and in a great location. The food is average for upscale Italian. We tried to make reservations a week in advance and could only get in at 4:45pm and 9:30. We opted for the earlier one since we had the marathon in the AM. The restaurant was packed when we arrived. The wait would have been 1 1/2 hours if we hadn’t made the 4:45 reservation. The restaurant was obviously busy and it took a long time to get our food and the waitress misunderstood the order. Fortunately, she was able to fix it within 15 minutes. The spaghetti, fettuccine alfresco chicken and Tuscan Shrimp and Chicken were very good. Not worth the hype. Probably will search for another Italian restaurant next time in Philly.

Great service and great meal

By rtatum13 |

We came here shortly after arriving in Philadelphia from the west coast as a “comfort food” option. It exceeded our expectations and was better than experiences at maggianos in our cities. Our waitress was very attentive and the pace of service was perfect. The shrimp fra diavola was outstanding.

Great Happy Hour On Labor Day

By Dontay D |

Wonderful happy hour drinks and flat bread. I truly enjoyed my time there with my husband. We will be back soon.

Excellent food and service.

By ERFSU82 |

During a week of business meetings at the Marriott and Convention Center, both across the street, we had two business dinners here. The food and service were excellent at a reasonable price.

Nice

By Karl M |

With reservations were seated right away. Server was excellent. We were a party of four. One salad didn't come out until after main food was served. Food was ok and the sangria was without flavor - very disappointing.

Philly Vacation 2019

By dllewis365sports |

We failed to make reservation for dinner on Friday night and we took a chance that we could get in, they took us right away. Very convenient to the Philadelphia Marriott (across the street). Everyone was extremely satisfied with our order and my niece even had a coupon for 20% off, which help on the ticket. A little pricey but felt we got our money's worth.

Quality, authentic, a bit pricy

By @acs |

I took customers to Maggiano's for a dinner meeting during LightFair week i downtown Philly. The restaurant is only a block from the convention hall. I made a prior reservation which they were on time reserving. I grew up on mamas Italian cooking so my standard is quite, but they did a very nice job. Its about the sauce and they dishes were authentic. Not quite mamas but who ever is. Lots of variety and interesting dishes. I would certainly take customers back again. For my family, i like to find the smaller establishments that are more reasonably priced. I give 5 stars, I expected a very nice atmosphere, variety, authentic, and higher prices.....and they deliveres.

Awful Experience

By Tim D |

My friend and I stopped off for a desert and cocktail after a wonderful evening out in Philly. We went to Parc, Rouge, Almada and ended at Maggiano's. Unfortunately, we were met with terrible service at Maggion's. After ordering dessert and a cocktail mine arrived and hers did not. She had some of mine. When enquiring where her cocktail was, we were informed (approx. 20 min after ordering) that she was considered inebriated, therefore was not being served. When questioning the manager, a different bar person spoke to her who didn't take the order? When speaking to the manager , the manager said a different manager had witnessed the issue. So in shore as explained to the manager (who apparently didn't witness anything) 1 . You cut someone off for apparently being above the limit, but allowing them to partake in a cocktail (at the bar) in front of you? 2 . You didn't mention the "cut off" until questioned? 3. The person the manager spoke to was not the person at the bar in question.

Chain Restaurant if that is your thing

By markbkeller |

Been there a few times and not very exciting. The food does not taste like authentic Italian. The one thing people like is that you can keep ordering food. I am a fan of small real Italian restaurants so chains are not my thing.

Great for special occasions

By rwheeler |

I have been to Maggiano’s several times and every time we go the food is good as well as the service. The only downfall I see to this restaurant is it is a bit pricey for Italian food. I have a hard time paying in the $20 range for pasta. Thankful we had gift cards to enjoy our meal. This particular visit was to celebrate one of our sons birthday. His favorite food is Italian. Randy was an excellent server! You could tell it came natural to him and he made our night special. We had some money left on our gift card so we returned a second night during our visit to Philadelphia. That evening the service was a bit slow but the staff was still attentive. The restaurant is large and can be a bit loud. So if you are wanting a quiet, romantic restaurant this one is not a great choice.

We Were Hungry

By Bridget S |

Our food was hot and the server refilled our drink glasses and bread basket. Sunday night and no wait.

Great food great atmosphere

By franglee2016 |

Great food great atmosphere and a great location. Visited Philadelphia this week and stopped off at this great Italian for dinner for two - while it was very busy - food and service could not be faulted - put it on your list to try out

Top notch food and service.

By Breter |

Great food, exceptional service and a good location just east- north east of City Hall. I had the Chicken Parm which was very, very good.

Same great quality

By NeedToVac |

The good thing about a chain is you know what you are getting, menuwise. It's the service that makes or breaks a chain. The staff at this location accommodated three separate large groups from my party (we all made independent reservations from the other group and were pleasantly surprised when we saw each other). They were quick to load and unload our tableware and get us beverage refills. Loved being at this location.

Good Italian food

By Theo Sxm |

It is a large restaurant. The Service is good, sometime too fast. Food quality, Italian specialties. Generous portion.

Great food

By Kwhetsell |

Stopped here on a whim and really enjoyed it! Very good food with fast and friendly service. My husband and I enjoyed it. Great portion sizes also.

A Nice Place

By Anne C |

We picked Maggiano's since it was directly across from our hotel and we were just too tired to go anywhere else. The place was packed and service a little slow but the staff were just so nice and accommodating. I ordered the roasted pear bruschetta which was excellent and a basic spaghetti with meatball in a marinara sauce; sauce decent, spaghetti cooked perfectly, meatball a little on the ehh side. The friend I was with ordered had a special which was mini chicken meatballs with pasta. She complained about it being too salty. We didn't stay for dessert as we were exhausted, but to be honest, I would go back and try again, not sure if the friend would but I probably will not be going back with her.

Good food lousy parking

By Davin D |

This is great Italian food lots of flavor super large portions if you take smaller children may be best to share plates. They also have an apple turnover a type dessert with ice cream and caramel which is so so good. The only bad part is parking sucks other than that it’s a great spot.

Amazing food & Service

By Tim-1664 |

We were recommended this restaurant by a local, and we were not disappointed. The food was really good, the right quantity with great quality. The service was brilliant, we had Lindsay who really looked after us. I would definitely return and recommend this to others.

Great place!

By Kleb122 |

We were here for the flower show and had to have dinner here. Always a good meal and the bar is great too!

Not worth it

By Gleemd |

The food was okay - but just okay. The waiter was forgetful- we got herbs for our bread halfway through the meal and after asking three times. The food just wasn’t that great. The steaks were not the quality of meat expected for the price. Salads were bland and bread was overly tough. We went on a Saturday night when the kitchen should have been fully staffed so I don't why the food was so lackluster. I had the chocolate cake cannoli dessert - the portion was huge but the cake was dry. The atmosphere was okay but again just ok it was not worth the price.

Love the food but...

By NancyBJ |

This is our second visit. We visited a year ago (we live 3 hours away) so loving it last time we wanted to back since in town. We went at 4pm. We were seated at the window and right as we sat down it was freezing so I asked the hostess a minute later if we could move. Since the restaurant was empty, it was not a problem. We got seated towards the back of the room. Ordered a delicious frozen peach Bellini and a draft beer. Their fresh baked bread is fantastic. We each got their soup of the day, which was the New England Clam Chowder...which was creamy and full of clams. Now, right next to us a couple in their booth got up and left right after they received their water and bread-still had menus on the tables. Ok. ???why One of the waitress, pitched a fit-next to OUR table telling a woman, I am assuming a manager ?, that the couple left, her window table got moved to another section (us!), and basically went on and on. VERY unprofessional! She could have done all of that where the staff were standing under the ‘banquet room’ sign where you can see the room. Being former wait staff myself, I completely understand these things happen-however you do NOT vent on the floor in front of the people you are serving. We were VERY put off by this. Our waitress, on the flip side of things, was very sweet, attentive and helpful. The dinner, itself, was terrific! My husband had the special of the day- the stuffed chicken was SO tender! My fettuccine Alfredo was such a huge portion that I took more than 1/2 home since we HAD ;) to have dessert. Coffee was freshly brewed. I had the creme brûlée and my husband only had a child size ice cream (because he wanted some of mine) It is a very nice atmosphere (except for that one waitress-which is the only reason this is getting 4 stars) There is parking (a parking building) right next door on Filbert Street. If you want to spend a little time at the Reading Market that is right across the street, as well (and if you buy $10 worth of items at the market you get a discount on your parking-just a FYI) We will come back to enjoy the delicious food and hope the staff will be more professional next time.

Great atmosphere, delicious food and good service

By Richard E |

We just got of the Greyhound bus from New York and decided we would eat before going back to our hotel. We found Maggiano's by chance and were pleased we did, great atmosphere, good food and service. If in Philadelphia I would highly recommend.

Delicious food, great service

By Luvtravel |

This restaurant serves some of the tastiest Italian food I have ever eaten. The food was so good, we dined here twice over a 4 day visit to Philly!

Superior Food and Service at Retirement Luncheon

By Denise M |

I attended a retirement luncheon on 2/17/22 for a co-worker. Maggiano's did an excellent job. The food was delicious and everyone enjoyed the various courses. What I really noticed was the excellent work of the two servers assigned to our room. Their names were Lisa and Chris, and they did a really superb job of taking care of us.

Great bartender- good food

By 910dianel |

Was going to stop for 1 drink, but bought a bottle of wine after talking to the bartender, who was really friendly and helpful. Also got munchies, as the bar was pleasant and it was a Friday night. Good vibe, close to the Reading market and convention center. Would go back definitely!

Delicious and relaxing dinner

By LCB |

Our server was Randy - he immediately made us feel right at home. We had the specials and they didn't disappoint! Recommend trying the bruschetta flight - outstanding!

Convenient restaurant across the street from the Marriott

By Phillysub |

As noted in the title, Maggiano's is right across the street from downtown Philly Marriott. We were down there as a pre-surgery stayover, Anyway, we were in the mood for Italian. The concierge recommended a small local eatery in the area. When we called, they were booked, so we figured why not go across the street and eat at Maggiano's. It's a chain restaurant, but it was conveniently located. Fortunately, we were early enough (about 5:30 pm) to be seated immediately. Around 6:30, the restaurant was filling up. Our server, Stephanie was very good - very pleasant. We were served bread, with a dish of oil, prior to our meal. Since we were in an Italian restaurant, we both got pasta (spaghetti and meatball, to be exact). For dessert, we split an apple crostada. Overall, it was a tasty and filling meal. Without nick-picking about anything, this was a worthwhile experience. If we are back in the area, we will consider Maggiano's again.

Olive Garden by a Different Name

By H W |

The room is quite loud. Three small children were allowed by their indifferent parents to run up and down the staircase. The mushroom caps were dry but sitting in a pool of oil. The gnocchi was not fluffy but chunky. My waiter Brandon was very attentive, the one saving grace.

Great Food, Spotty Service

By RestonVoyager |

We decided to go to Maggianos for dinner while in Philly. It was mostly a good visit. The Good: The food was wonderful. I had the Chicken Parmesan. It was a huge portion. The chicken was cooked well and the sauce was yummy. One of my friends had the veal parmigiana, which was reportedly also great. The other had the beef tenderloin medallions. She said they were superb. We also ordered a pitcher of sangria, which was very tasty. The server was very earnest and tried to be accommodating. An example: when she saw we had a child in our party, she brought over a drink in a plastic cup (the rest of the drink ware was glass). She was quick to offer suggestions about the menu. The Bad: It was quite crowded and they seemed determined to cram people into the smallest space possible. There were several em tables, all in a row, while we could actually touch the people at that table next to us. It took a long time to get the server’s attention to get our check. When we informed her that we had a coupon (I had forgotten before ordering), she said the manager would have to take care of it. She sent him over and he acted ticked off, but took the check and coupon info and said he’d bring it back. We saw him go to the register and do something, but then he walked away. For 15 minutes, we tried to get his attention, but he refused to look out way and avoided our area like the plague. This whole time, we didn’t see our server. Finally, she reappeared and we asked what was going on. She seemed confused, but went and got the adjusted check. Someone had torn off the QR code that would have allowed us to pay quickly at the table. So we had yo wait another five minutes until the server came back to pick up our credit card. The whole rigamarole around the bill left a bad taste and was a sour not in which to end the evening. TL:DR. Good food, spotty service

Always a good time

By EA913 |

When in town, we enjoy dinging at the bar and sharing an appetizer or two and ordering some entrees to go. Prices have gone up a bit over the years, but the quality and portions are always excellent. Staff is friendly and engaging. Good location near the convention center. Great for large groups as well.

A very acceptable Italian choice for dinner

By Retired662013 |

We were surprised by the quality of the food at Maggiano's! We had approximately a 20 minute wait on a Wednesday night. I ordered the eggplant part, and my husband had the chicken marsala. Both dishes were nicely prepared and more than adequate. The atmosphere is busy and upbeat, and the wait staff are very accommodating.

New Family Favorite

By momoftwofreehold |

My family and I were headed to the Reading Terminal Market, we found Maggiano's by accident and it was the best meal we have had a very long time. From the hostess to the entire staff everyone was friendly. The appetizer selection was amazing unfortunately we had to choose only 2. The fried Calamari because its not Sunday dinner with out it, and the pepperoni rice balls, both were perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. We ordered the Prime Rib it was served with the most amazing mashed potatoes, and arugula salad was perfectly dressed. The menu had a veal porter house that I have never seen before we had to order that and it was beyond amazing. The veal portion was big enough to share we all had to have some it was served with angel hair pasta dressed in oil, garlic and herbs and arugula salad. even though we couldn't finish our meal we had to order dessert. The special cannoli cake was a mountain high and delicious. The New York Style Cheesecake was a slice of heaven. We can not wait to go back. The server Kim was attentive, efficient, even while her whole section was full. She knew the menu well and made excellent suggestions. It seemed that there were many regulars and the staff knew them well it was a great atmosphere, people of all ages.

Excellent large group dinner

By jeff f |

We had a group of 12 business associates, and they put us in a private room, which was awesome. Perfect atmosphere and quiet enough to be able to hold conversations. The menu was preset for our group and everything (other than the calamari appetizer which was a little dry) was excellent. We had the salmon, chicken, ravioli and lasagna entrees. Service was superb with a dedicated waiter just for our group/room. Definitely an excellent choice for a large group dinner in Philly!

You won't be disappointed!

By Betty R |

Wonderful food and beverages! Our waiter was very attentive and entertaining. It was a special treat that we could purchase meals for the next day for $5 so we had 2 days to enjoy Maggiano's excellent food!

Family style Italian restaurant

By Catherine S |

We were with a small group tour and ate family style in a private room. The first course included Caesar salad, Italian salad, Zucchini frito and bruschetta, all of which were delicious. The entrees were lasagna, chicken piccata, salmon and mushroom ravioli. Since I'm a vegetarian, I only ate a mushroom ravioli and it was too salty to eat. My husband and others at the table raved about the lasagna, chicken and salmon. Dessert, also family style was a chocolate truffle cake and Apple crostata served ice cream and both were amazingly good! The service was great, and the decor was old world charming.

Graduation Dinner

By Audr112 |

We attended U Mass rowing graduation dinner here, what a fabulous evening! The food was excellent! Maggiano's supplied platters of various different foods for each table - plenty for everyone, of an excellent standard.

Birthday Celebration

By Natalie L |

My friend and I came to Philly to visit and celebrate our joint birthdays. I have eaten at other Maggiano's locations in other cities, but this location is the best by far. The food was delicious and the service was exceptional. I'd like to give a special mention to our sever Jason! He was knowledgeable and mode our experience extra special. Next time I'm in Philly I definitely visit again!

Authentic Italian Experience

By Ddb2422 |

Great atmosphere and authentic Italian experience. Food is freshly made and the staff is friendly and courteous. Love the olive oil and fresh herbs on the plate with bread. Had the chicken parm and it was excellent. Large portions and a little high in prices but you do get your money’s worth. Highly recommend it.

Average food, noisy atmosphere...Is it time for cleaning?

By TravelChicDr |

It was just across our hotel and had some good referals; so we decided to have dinner at this place. The food was average- Italian food. We could enjoy the dinner but the staff was so busy with reorganising and cleaning the restaurant that the service was really bad. One lady was cleaning the glasses using a pot of boiled water: dipping the rim of the glasses to the water letting the steam to infuse in, than cleaning each one of it with a napkin... so busy... the other was sweeping the floor around the empty tables. And it was between 20:30-21:00 hours. It was not really nice to have this cleaning operation with a considerable noise while you are trying to have a nice dinner. Hate it...

Great place to eat

By Brian D |

This is a great place to eat. One of my favorite places. I’m a picky eater so for me to find plenty of items that are really good is hard. This place does it for me.

Great place to have dinner

By Peter H |

We were looking for a place to have dinner not too far from our hotel (Marriott).. We happen to walk by Maggiano's, checked the menu and decided to give a shot. Looked very busy on a Thursday night. We had to wait only 10 minutes. Very nice ambiance. Service was prompt and very friendly. The food was very good and reasonable. We had two main dishes and two beers which came to $ 70.00 incl.tax and tips. Would definitely go back.

Great for celebration or just a great meal in town

By MichaelGarforth |

We came here 2 years ago so booked on arrival this year to make sure of a seat when we wanted it on a Saturday evening. The place is lively and the staff very friendly. They have an extensive menu and are very pleased to explain what things are. They do sharers for larger groups but dont be mistaken about the name as pizza is not their forte, plenty of more original and home made delicacies. We ate too much snd came away well pleased with this repeat visit.

Surprisingly good

By BHUANG69 |

My friend and I came here on independence day. We walked in around 2pm, wanting to reserve a table for dinner but were told that they were fully committed and so we made reservation elsewhere in China town. When dinner time came, we walked in before we headed to China town and asked for a walk-in table and we got one! So we called the other restaurant to cancel our reservation. The strange thing is during our whole time there, the restaurant was not full at all and there were still plenty of empty tables (social distancing was no longer required) and we were all wondering why we could not get a table earlier. The food was fantastic: we got a sampler for starter and that's what did us all in -- we were struggling to eat our entree. The sampler has fried zucchini, friend mozerella, bruschetta and calamari. There was so much food. I got a Caesar side salad and could only finish one quarter of it. I am a 5'8'' 160# male who eats sensibly. My friend got a very delicious shrimp scampi pasta and we all tasted it and were all very impressed. We originally thought it might be a tourist trap and did not expect the food here to be so good but we were all very pleasantly surprised!

Great place for Lunch in the city!

By dawnzo |

I totally enjoyed my visit to Maggianos this past Wednesday. We got there early as a large group. We had the back room to ourselves. All staff was very nice, the food was delicious and plentiful. It was a perfect place for lunch before our theater show. The staff were helpful and they had delicious coffee! We had Caesar salad, brushetta, chicken Parm, pasta, fresh rolls and lemon cookies for dessert. All items were delicious! So grateful for our visit!

Great!

By Brian D |

We had lunch here while visiting Philly. It is close to a lot of attractions. The food and the service were both very good.

Good experience

By Matthew C |

The food was decent not great. The service was great. They tried to fit too many people into a space and it felt crowded and overwhelming. It was very expensive for what it was....average Italian food. The location definitely keeps them going because that is why we are there.

Granddaughter (and Nana) APPROVED!

By Andi K |

My granddaughter and I are on our annual "Chica Adventure" - this year visiting the City of Brotherly Love. We are staying at the Marriott Downtown Philadelphia, which is right across the street from Maggiano's. My granddaughter lives and breathes Spaghetti and Meatballs. She also absolutely loves Mussels. So - finding the best of each in every City we visit is always on our "to do" list (rest assured we had Philly Cheese Steak, soft Pretzels and Italian Ice). We tried the Crispy Pepperoni Risotto Bites (waitress recommendation), the Prince Edward Island Steamed Mussels - Tuscan Style, and the Spaghetti with Meatballs. We also sampled the complimentary bread. We shared one order of each dish and couldn't finish our dinner. This meal was 100% Granddaughter APPROVED! Keep in mind this little lady has eaten more than her fair share of these foods in her LONG 8-years of life :-) I too really enjoyed each of our choices. Even though the restaurant was packed our waitress was very attentive. I highly recommend trying this Italian restaurant.

Delicious and reasonable

By c1lm2 |

Great menu, great service and delicious dinner. We had not tried one of these before and decided to go since it was right across the street from our Marriott hotel. Highly recommend.

Maggiano's was just around the corner from where we were staying, the Hilton Garden Inn.

By Diana G |

Services was perfect. The food was freshly prepared and very tasty. I had the beef tenderloin medallions with Marsala sauce. It was wonderful! Very comfortable atmosphere with open dining room. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Best Italian

By Mark M |

Maggiano's was recommended by a shuttle driver for one of our tours. We decided to give it a try. The food and atmosphere is amazing. Stop in and see for yourself. You wont be disappointed.

It was my wife's birthday and the comped us a piece of cheesecake with lit candles. Very nice!!! We will definitely go back. Be prepared there may be large loud groups near you!!!

Very good italian food

By KevinandChris2015 |

We went here expecting good Italian food and we got it. We had spaghetti and meatballs and the Lasagna dish. Both were very good and they were thoroughly enjoyed by the two of us. Thee service was excellent and the food was served quickly.

Always a good meal here!!

By DionneRenee |

While staying in Center City Philadelphia for an 8 day business trip, we visited Maggiano's twice. We were not disappointed. The peach bellini is a must and the eggplant parm is the best around. Great service and lively atmosphere on both visits.

Dinner pushing a 5 rating

By Gary |

Took my daughter here for her birthday. We went without reservations ( recommended) and the place was full - we chose to sit at the bar to order dinner. I had the chicken parm - which was excellent. I forced myself to finish the two large pieces of chicken. My daughter had linguine half of which went to a vet in a wheel chair on the street. My wish is to go with a large group and eat family style - did that years ago and it was WONDERFUL.

East Coast Trip

By Martin P |

If you want the full Italian American restaurant experience then this is the place. We ate early evening but it was busy when we arrived and continued throughout. Great choice of foods on the menu, something for everyone. What I saw all looked fantastic. My only complaint was that our main course was almost forced upon us as we were only just finishing our starters (one of my pet hates but not untypical in my experience when eating out in the US). Apart from that a was a great place to eat.

First time diner

By marktR8487XA |

Quick to be seated, awesome service and the food was very good. HIGHLY recommend the spinach salad. Cheesecake for dessert was simply divine. Will dine here again the next time i am back in Philly.

First class food

By Peter H |

Maggiano’s is a treat. Generous portions and good service. Wine prices perhaps a little high and skip desert. Lasagne was great as was calamari.

Went to dinner for Mother's Day

By Dotsohot |

It was very busy due to it being Mother's Day. Since we had reservations we only waited 10 minutes to get seated. The food was excellent. There Brachetta bread was amazing as well as there Wedge Salad with Blue Cheese Dressing.

I'll Be Back Soon

By Nichol W |

Thursday girl's night out. The waitstaff and server were friendly and attentive. I started with a pomegranate martini. It was so tasty that I had two. So glad the crab cakes with arugula returned to the menu, always a favorite. My entre was a special for the month, lobster ravioli with sun dried tomatoes. PLEASE consider adding to the menu. It was delicious!. Dessert to go, a slice of chocolate cake with cherry sauce also a special of the month. The entire experience was excellent and I was compelled to provide feedback. Looking forward to returning before the end of the month!

Most excellent meal.

By A C |

I ordered the Shrimp dish with the most tasty cream sauce. Garlic and cream, ahhh tasty Plenty of shrimp was served, eaten and savored. The tiramisu was the best I have tasted Presentation good with plenty of chocolate. A great choice of an eatery

Great private room for family celebration!

By jchavezfield |

We had a lovely extended family dinner in city center last week at Maggiano's. The food was great and the service was spectacular. Soolea (sorry, I didn't capture the spelling!) was an excellent hostess ensuring we had all of the food and drinks and comfort possible. She was working super hard on our party and the room next to us and was ever present to make it special for all.

Delicious Italian

By rjs15 |

We had a wonderful meal here. The place was packed, but we had made reservation on line; which got us seated fairly quickly. I had veal picatta, which was tender and delicious. The pasta – made by Maggiano’s – was served with just a tasty olive oil, to which I added parmesan and it was delicate and flavorful. They also provided fresh made bread prior to the meal which was the perfect starter. Finally, the waitress Jen was great. Attentive but not intrusive & handled our requests perfectly. Great place, great meal… will go there again.

Always loved Maggiano's

By Nelson H |

Had a meal with my family. It was a bit too crowded during early dinner but still worth it. Will definitely continue to patronize Maggiano's

Great Food and Service

By Sarah B |

We all loved our food, Chicken Parm, Spaghetti Marinara, Bruschetta Bar, Pesto Chicken Meatball dish, all of it was delicious. Our waitress did a great job and we had good service.

Bad brunch

By bob f |

Pancakes very dry, not enough strawberries,or topping, For the price i was expecting at least a half decent meal. I will not be back.

Excellent food and portion size

By chuckebuck |

We had chicken pamagion including a spinach salad. The taste of chicken was excellent. The salad was chrispy and tasty. The server was one of best we ever . The promptness and positive attitude were a compliment to restaurant that cared about customer service. Near convention center and a number of hotels. Go there if you like great food at a reasonable prices

First time in Philly

By Jen S |

Looking for a great Italian restaurant, look no further. While a chain restaurant, it serves well prepared, tasty fare (with large portions), reasonably priced. The ambiance is of the classic old world Italian restaurants from the dark woods, deep booths, the amber lighting in the period style, the white and red checked cloths, to candles on the table. The wait staff was superb and the team worked like a well oiled machine. The food was delicious!!! We were here for a convention on a Sunday and the place was packed by 7pm. I am glad we made our reservation for 6. And it's no lie......their Tiramisu is heavenly!!!! What a way to end our stay here in Philly.

Great Restaurant

By GardenLady13 |

Went to Philadelphia Flower Show and it was suggested we eat at Maggiano’s. It was a great recommendation. Everything was cooked to perfection. I had the lobster carbonara with snow peas. The pasta was cooked a la dente as well as the snow peas. They used the petite snow peas and they were not stringy like the larger ones. They had to use almost a whole small lobster cut up and it was tender. The deserts were also outstanding and I would most emphatically recommend this restaurant!

Great meal!

By penlady1975 |

This is the second time I've eaten here while in the city, and both times the meals were extremely delicious. Service great too!

Excellent meal, convenient location

By jchansen14 |

During a business trip to Philadelphia, my wife and I were searching for a place to have dinner near our hotel, so we didn't have to walk far in the cold weather. How lucky we were to find Maggiano's across the street from the Marriott. We enjoyed a delicious dinner of salad and pasta dishes, with some left over to take home the next day. The service was great, as was the food.

Nice kids menu and tasty food

By nbell8 |

Ate here during weekend trip to Philly. Pick it because it was close to hotel and had a kids menu. Had 3 kids 12 yo or younger. Made reservation through website ahead of time. Table ready when we arrived and was very nice experience. The food was very good and kids liked what they got. The kids menu included a dessert as well. Left bellies full and had a nice time. Didn’t rush us out the door either.

Yummy food!!

By Holly J |

We loved this restaurant. Had a delicious lemon drop martini and glass of sangria. The food was absolutely delicious!! Service was top notch too. Would definitely return!

A Bit Pricey But Delicious

By Lulubelle1212 |

We go to Maggiano’s once a year after going to the car show at the Convention Center. Maggiano’s is only a block away from the convention center and train station so it is very convenient. We have only been there on Saturday nights and the restaurant is always mobbed. Even with reservations we always have to wait about 20 minutes. The wait without reservations must be 45-60 minutes long. The food is always delicious. The other night I had the lobster carbonara and my husband had the veal parmesan. Both dishes were fabulous. The portions were huge, definitely enough for two meals. We each brought half home for tonight’s dinner. The chocolate zuccotto cake is to die for. Once again, we brought half of it home. Unless you buy their Family Style Meals (only for parties of 4 or more) everything is a la carte. You only get your entree and a bread basket. Soup and salad are extra. Basic pasta dishes are in the mid-teens, everything else is low-20’s to low-40’s. Our bill was $109 and included 2 meals, 1 dessert, 1 beer and 1 glass of wine. Service seems to be hit or miss. The other night, our waitress was amazing, last year the service was so bad I had to ask for the manager.

Wonderful service

By Traveler22930228062 |

We had the best waitress! She was knowledgeable, patient and sweet! Loved her recommendations, and she even gave us cookies with our leftovers at lunch! Can’t wait to go back!

Very good food for such a busy place

By SearchLite99 |

We dined here during a very busy trade show at the Convention Center. The restaurant was packed for a Monday night. Having made our reservation through Open Table, we arrived on time and were immediately seated. Service for the rest of the night went just as smoothly and efficiently. The veal marsala was very well done and tender. We liked the fact that it was available as a smaller portion with less pasta. The seafood cannelloni is a house specialty and was also very good. Unfortunately, there was no room for dessert although some wonderful looking cakes passed by our table.

A nice meal at a good price.

By Elrod_10 |

Typical Maggiano's so there were no surprises. Had dinner and it was excellent. Wife got salad topped with grilled salmon, I got a chicken dish that had a reduced-fat option (I appreciate when restaurants offer this choice). Our server knew the menu and clearly explained the differences in the preparation between regular and reduced-fat. Both items were delicious and satisfying. Made reservations before arriving and we were seated on-time (Saturday night).

Pleasant Italian dining in center city

By John H |

For a nice environment, fairly good food, and a friendly experience you'll enjoy Maggiano's Little Italy across from the Reading Terminal Market and the Marriott. Yes, it may be a bit "seedy" in that part of the city but it's usually harmless. The restaurant has a large bar with bar and booth seating and the dining room is spacious with tables and booths. Getting wait staff that's friendly and attentive -- always hit and miss but not just at this restaurant. That's the way it is almost everywhere, isn't it? Maggiano's has a large menu with plenty of choices including seafood and pasta. I enjoyed the lasagna -- large portion and great taste. Bread is included in the meal. Friends at the table enjoyed salmon and the pasta with seafood. I'll go back!

Not bad

By Ron C |

I had a good dining experience experience while I was in Philly . The waiter Matthew very professional and expedient. The food was worth the $108 ticket for two . The Linguine de Mare was good . My waiter Matthew again was awesome

Enjoyable Dinner

By danidb518 |

We try to avoid chain restaurants but we were staying in a hotel very close by and we were too tired to get Uber, etc so we walked around the corner, practically, to this restaurant and glad that we did! Our waiter, Alexander was nice and friendly. Ice tea was way over priced, but had to remind ourselves that we were in a large city. Alexander suggested the bruschetta, which actually had ricotta on the bottom layer of the bread. Yes it was different but tasty. My husband enjoyed his chicken Marsala and oh my, the linguine mare that I had was delicious and a very generous serving, pricey at $36.00 but there was plenty of mussels in it, not so many clams, and a few nice sized shrimp. We had the grand margarita with amaretto in it and the apple crostata for dessert which was ok.

Great family style meal

By Bethany G |

Really great food. Food was tasty and delicious. Choose family style meal which I loved sharing wasn't stuck with the same one meal.

Decent food but slow service

By Gary H |

There were 11 of us for lunch, so it wasn't surprising that we had to wait awhile to be seated. What was irritating was that it took an unreasonably long time for our food to come. When the food did arrive, several of the dishes were either cold or had cooled. On the positive side, the surroundings were pleasant, the noise level tolerable, and most of the dishes quite tasty.

We look forward to returning

By Patricia A |

The food here was amazing, perfect really. From the bread to the Maggiano salad, to their rigatoni special and oh my, the desserts. Add to that the nicest staff and especially our server, Gerson, this dinner put a great end to our 3-day visit to Philly.

Great location and food

By Wanderer38157249079 |

The food is fantastic. The staff was attentive and pleasant. We took advantage of their special ($5 take home meal with purchase of an entry, WOW!).

Great place walking distance to convention center

By Michelle Y |

Very close to the convention center. Food and service were excellent. Friendly. Only complaint was that it was too warm.

Dependable Italian with Flavorful Dishes and Prompt Service at Maggiano's Little Italy

By dennisE1964 |

Maggiano's Little Italy in Philadelphia offers a comfortable, contemporary setting with excellent service. There was no wait to be seated, and our food arrived promptly within 10 minutes. I ordered the Chicken Piccata, which was tasty, and the accompanying pasta was a nice touch. My wife ordered the filet, which was cooked more medium-rare than her requested medium-well, but she still enjoyed it. The chain's consistency is reassuring, and we would definitely return for another meal. The cleanliness and friendly service added to the overall positive experience.

Food excellent serves not so

By BHSWarrior |

I love a good pasta and their lasagna was just that! The food was excellent. We were not impressed with the service. Planned on ordering dessert and our server never came. Often times there were 4-5 servers standing together near the service area. Again food great - the service didn't quite meet the expectation.

Great Service, Okay Food

By JENNIFER S |

We had a great time at Maggiano's. We were a large group and our server suggested we do the Family Style dinner and we took his advice. We tried many different meals and the only one that really stood out to me was the chicken parm. Everything else was alright compared to other nice italian restaurants I have been to. Other than the food the service we received was excellent. Our server, Randy was patient and incredibly helpful when ordering. We were nervous that Family Style wouldn't be enough food for 12 people but he promised it would be and offered some extras to help us out. We never once felt rushed (we were there for over 2 hours) and the restaurant was packed since it was a Saturday night during spring break. It was also pretty expensive compared to the quality food we received. I don't suggest Family Style for people who aren't big eaters like myself, or for people who have any dietary restrictions or are simply a picky eater.

Good for a chain. Good quality. Too big portions.

By B E |

Maggianos is a safe bet for dinner. The quality of the food is quite good, even this self-admited locally owned restaurant snob, acknowledges the food and service are very good.

great staff and meeting space, but food was just okay

By Samantha J |

I had scheduled a staff meeting. the meeting process was great. super attentive and great staff. super friendly and helpful. however, we mostly ordered steaks, and none were cooked to request. super over or underdone. like beyond underdone. the rest of the food however was great.

Clean Place,Tasty Food

By Joanne R |

We were doing some late night sightseeing. Needed a small meal to keep us going. Without a reservation, wait was over 90 mins. We opted to stay upstairs instead. We were blessed to have Ebony as our server. Meals are huge portions. She assured us it would be fine to share a plate. We had spaghetti & meat meatball w/meat sauce. Meat ball was very good. Spaghetti was good as well (I prefer angel hair or thin). The wines were good, as was the apple something dessert. Meal was reasonably priced, especially given the amt of food. Drinks actually cost more than the meal! Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a good meal at a reasonable price.

Plenty of food to eat the next day too

By caltravelgal |

very good food and large portions, with nice cocktails and good downtown Philly location near Reading terminal market. Any entree you get will be wonderful and you will have leftovers.

What A Beautiful Meal

By kdpbball |

We were a party of eight, who had reservations on Thursday night. It’s an old school Italian restaurant. The food and the service were outstanding! Thank you to our server Don! I had the minestrone soup and an Italian side salad. Hubby had a Peroni and the Chicken Arrabiata. He could have used a bit more spice in the dish, but enjoyed it nonetheless. All of our friends raved about their meals. This is a lovely place for a special dinner.

Our waiter was amazing!

By travelsforworkBoston |

We had a lovely family dinner while touring Philadelphia today. Our family of 4 is on vacation. Stopped at Maggiano’s for an early dinner. Our waiter Randy was absolutely fabulous!! He made all the difference in our dinner experience. 5+ stars for Randy!!

Great portions, ambiance and service!

By YotaPower |

We had a great experience here. Our waiter Frank was on fire. He made great recommendations and was as attentive a server as we have ever had. Then the manger Mike can through a couple of time and he was attentive as well. He also had good recommendations for things to do in the city. Then the food was top notch. I had the veal parmigiana and the portions were great. I strongly recommend have a nice dinner here!

Dinner with a group of friends.

By Ireneusz H |

The place was crowded but we had a reservation for a bigger group of friends. From the start, the waitress was very polite and the last served us well. She was very nice and she knew meals very well. The dishes were delicious - we all were very satisfied, and also the drinks were properly served. Nice place.

Dinner

By marield1990 |

Came here for dinner after walking around. Nice big cozy place. Our waitress was fantastic. We got the flatbread to start and then the spaghetti and meatballs and the seafood pasta with a cream sauce. For dessert we got the tiramisu which was also delicious.

Good Italian near the hotel

By Barry H |

I flew into town and was starving since I was on an early morning cross-country flight. On the recommendation of my colleague, I stopped in for dinner. Nice ambiance, atmosphere, and you felt "welcomed." Ordered a Conshohocken Blood Money Hazy Guava IPA and the Shrimp Fra Diavolo entrée. Wow, amazing food and drink.

One of the best chicken parm dishes I’ve ever had

By TheSecretVagabond |

My two kids, 16 and 13, dined here on a Saturday night. Located across from Reading Market and a block from a lighted parking lot with an attendant, we’d return and recommend. We took a chance and showed up at 7pm without a reservation. It was packed and we were told an hour and a half wait. The hostess said the lounge area was first come- first serve. The gods were with us, because I walked into the lounge as a party was leaving. Our 1.5-hour wait turned into a 30-second wait. Service was professional and welcoming. We ordered salads, which were good despite being only iceberg lettuce. The fried zucchini appetizer was very, very good and large. The chicken parm was cooked perfectly and one of the best I’ve ever had. The gnocchi with sausage and spaghetti with meatballs were enjoyed by my kids. Portion sizes are huge. We took much food to go. Prices are relative to a city-center restaurant. Our bill was $88. I learned this was a chain; that surprised me. The ambiance- dark wood, soothing lighting, loud. We’d definitely return.

7th Anniversary Dinner

By MomOfTheLaurens |

My husband and I celebrated our 7th anniversary here. Our first time at Maggiano's was the year prior in Cherry Hill, NJ. We were afraid the food and service wasn't going to be as good as before. Thank God we were wrong! It was just as amazing.

Wonderful

By Alison M |

We received a recommendation for this place before we arrived from Scotland. It was not misplaced. They were full that day but when they heard we had been told about the place they squeezed us in. The meal, staff and surroundings were amazing. Thank you so much for making room for us. We were not disappointed.

Good

By retiredfrwork |

My friend and I met in Philadelphia yesterday and decided to have lunch here. Fortunately for us we ate a later lunch and got seated immediately by a friendly greeter. We were so lucky to have had a fantastic waitress and I wish I wrote her name down. She was just amazing and could not do enough for us. Food was very good here. I had the spaghetti marinara which was okay but needed more seasonings. Portions were huge but since I was taking the train home no way was I taking any leftovers. My friend had baked ziti that she said was delicious. We are coming back again to Philadelphia to do another tour and definitely will be eating here again.

Excellent detail to customer service

By scottdavey46 |

Had a really good experience on a Saturday night in March. Going out to eat has become very expensive, and when our meals came we just didn't think we were getting our moneys worth. Our server, Graham, took care of the problem right away. he brought out a bowl of meat sauce to add to my wife's food, and additional sauce and meat to go into my rigatoni dish. He, and the manager, went well beyond what our expectations were. they truly cared about us leaving happy which we did.

Revisting a favorite Philly restaurant

By btouro |

Several years ago, I was attending a convention show and dined at Maggianos twice during my stay, eating at the bar both times. As a frequent diner at the Jacksonville, FL location where I previously lived for 21 years, the manager of this Philadelphia location opened that location and so we met and reminesced about both the restaurant and his experience in Jacksonville. Once again, my wife and I dined at the bar and had a great meal, drinks and experience. The best surprise is no surprise. The food is good, plentiful and enjoyable and this experience was no different. Our server Giovanni was pleasant and enjoyable to converse with. Service was splendid.

Very good food with Great Service

By Daniel C |

The food was very good and the service was outstanding. It was a bit expensive for the quality of the food but it's Philly...everything is a bit overpriced downtown.

Excellent food!

By HeloShark |

Stopped by late on a Friday night for a light meal. Split two appetizers, Sausage and Peppers, and Zucchini Crisps. They were excellent! Excellent service made for a great dining experience. Will go back the next time we are in Philly.

Great meal after a long day working a conference

By Julie Q |

Ten hours on my feet and I needed a drink and a good meal but it was raining, I didn’t have a car and Maggiano’s was close by. The place was packed, but found a seat at the bar to wait for my table. Lou made a special French Martini which isn’t on the menu. Chambord, raspberry vodka, splash of cranberry and Prosecco - and relax! I had the chicken piccata lite with added sun-dried tomatoes, finished with an awesome piece of carrot cake. The waiter was attentive, but not overbearing. Perfect cocktail and meal to cap off a long day.

Delicious food. Great service.

By MommaRay |

Highly recommend. Easy to make reservation, great service. Food was terrific. Portions were huge. Would recommend and definitely go back.

This place has character.

By Dee V |

I especially enjoy the lasagna and spaghetti & Meatballs. This is also a busy bar stop. Make a reservation for dinner.

Tasty Italian food

By Robert W |

Great location and tasty food - but not a great choice. Menu was 'adopted' to US taste and some items did not look as a Italian dish.

Excellent Food and Service

By Maryann L |

We had a reservation and were seated immediately. This section of the dining areas was crowded but the noise level was less than expected. We ordered a bottle of Pinot Grigio to complement our entrees. My husband had Mahi-Mahi with a lemon butter sauce. The fish was served on a bed of sauteed spinach. It was outstanding. I had Shrimp Diavolo, shrimp served over linguini in a slightly spicy red sauce. It, too, was very good. For dessert we shared a piece of butter cake. Service was efficient and attentive. Thank you, Graham. There are many Italian restaurants in Philadelphia and this is one we would recommend.

Great food!

By Roger W |

The food was great, and portions were huge. Our server was very attentive and never let our drinks get less than half empty

Great food and service

By adam h |

We came in for a business dinner and were seated in a private room. We chose to dine family style, and selected our meals. The courses came quickly and in abundance. We were absolutely stuffed by the end. Every single thing we ate was delicious. Don't skip dessert. If you're looking for a business dinner, give this place a shot.

Delicious food, great drinks, excellent waitstaff

By ZiggyPG |

Went to Maggiano’s Little Italy for dinner & it was really really good, both the food and the waitstaff. I had a smoked Old Fashioned which was presented in a brass lantern & when they opened the lantern door, the wood smoke gave off wonderful smell. Such a great start to our meal. We had Wagyu Meatballs in a delicious red sauce & Linguine de Mare with lobster, shrimp, mussels, & clams in a slightly spicy red sauce. Both were very good. Our waiter was excellent and attentive and they were very busy with some large parties that night. Returned two days later for drinks and appetizers because I had to try the Italian Sangria. Again, the waitstaff couldn’t have been better. I highly recommend.

Lunch

By Marian P |

My husband and I stopped in for Valentine's Day, We both ordered Shrimp Fra Doviolo, it was a big dish and was delicious, would order this dish again. The waitress was very nice, and the atmosphere was good, prices good, we will definitely come back!

Great Italian food in the heart of Philadelphia

By ivelisseh9 |

A most, for Italian food lovers! Nice atmosphere, great service and amazing food. I had the Seafood linguine, which had lots of Seafood and a fantastic and sort of spicy and light tomato sauce. My husband had the Salmon Oscar, which he said it was to die for. I didn’t try it, just because I was so happy and busy with my own food. They have a good selection of wines and happy hour, if you go between 5-7. I suggest you make reservations, since it gets very crowded and the wait for walk-ins it’s between 30 to 45 minutes.

Simply delicious food

By Michelle S |

Oh. My. Goodness. The BEST Italian I've eaten in a long time 🐷. Family style feast had so much choice, tasted incredible, and was sadly far too much to eat between 4 of us (all with healthy appetites). The desert plate was something else...the butter cake defies description. Simply delicious. I never want to eat again

Italian Dinner

By renab320 |

Service was great!!! The atmosphere was very nice. The food was very good. The bruschetta was very fresh.

Not real impressed

By Lori G |

This is a chain and I guess it's ok. I wasn't all that impressed with the food and the service was pretty bad. Won't be coming back here.

Give Them a Try

By Remlap0324 |

This is an excellent choice for an Italian meal. We made reservations but did have to wait for about 20 minutes due to a high volume of other reservations at the same time. Once we were called to our table though, we couldn't have been happier. We were seated by an outside window at a table for two in a small dining room where it was much quieter than in the main dining room. Not that there is anything wrong with people having a good time which was very evident. Since it was only the two of us we had our meals al la carte as we couldn't handle a family style meal. Our meals were excellent and prepared to our satisfaction. We both had seafood with my husband having Salmon Oscar (a February special) and I having Parmesan Crusted Cod with Calabrian Honey. An excellent choice for an Italian restaurant in Philadelphia.

Glad we went.

By scubamex |

Was only going to stay there for drinks and an appetizer. However, after looking at the menu, we decided to stay for dinner as well. We're glad that we did. Food and service were excellent. We sat outside and you're right across the street from the Reading Terminal Market. Great location. Would go back there again.

Second Chance

By TrayBN |

My wife and I ate here years ago and it was nothing to brag about. We were staying close by for the Flower Show and decided to give them a second chance. Booked a 5:45 reservation online on Friday afternoon for that evening. Good thing we didn't book any later because by 6:15 the place was packed and had a long waiting line. The only negatives to our experience were the overcrowding and the bland bread (no crustiness, no character) they serve for dipping in olive oil. That being said, the service and the food were excellent and reasonably priced. The Caesar side salad is fresh and pretty large and they have anchovies if you ask. My wife opted for the lighter take on veal piccata, I had the lighter take on the chicken piccata. (They simply do not add butter to bring the calorie count down.) Both were very tasty and the butter was not missed. We had the handcut fettuccine. We recommend you get it on the side with a little red sauce instead of under the meat in the piccata sauce. The portion will be larger and it tastes great. Unfortunately we had no room for dessert so we can't comment on those. Glad we gave them a second chance. We will be back next time we are in town.

terrific

If you are in need of some Italian cuisine, this is the place for you! Wonderful wines, delicious pastas and plenty of it!

Another Fabulous Thanksgiving

By JerseyPhil |

We have a small Thanksgiving family consisting of three people. Years ago I would cook a Turkey breast for Thanksgiving along with the usual suspects….mashed potatoes, green beans , stuffing etc. Six years ago my wife thought we might try something different and go out to eat. At first I was reluctant thinking that only people without a large family would go which made me uncomfortable. Boy was I wrong…. Maggianos is a wonderful place to have Thanksgiving. First of all the place is packed with families of every size including as many as 12-14. Secondly the food and service are wonderful even though the place is packed. Thirdly it is a very reasonable price of 50.00 plus liquor. And finally since it is served family style we always get enough leftovers for at least two more meals. The dinner includes a chefs appetizer, two salads , your choice of two entrees (turkey, ham, fish) , two pastas and dessert. The staff greets you with warmth and great service like you are family (or better lol) This is our sixth Thanksgiving at Maggianos and it will not be our last. So if you cannot decide where to go for Thanksgiving make it Maggianos….you will not be disappointed.

For a chain, excellent Italian.

By chriskF8978AV |

Always crowded on weekends so make reservations and even with them, you may need to wait. The food is excellent. Pasta, tilapia, salmon and dinner salads. Authentic Italian. Expensive. -a glass of wine will set you back $24 (9 oz pour). Entrees $19-$25. Service is sometimes excellent, other times so so. Go for the food and look past any shortcomings. I do recommend this restaurant!

Authentic homemade food

By MereteML L |

Feeling hungry? this is the place to go! Generous portions of home made food with great taste. I tried a couple of bruschetta's (mini) -both delicious and the Lasagne - mouth watering! Just a small tip: bring a sweater, it's pretty chilly in the restaurant - at least it was at my visits in October.

Top Italian

By HarryLeon |

Excellent Italian menu with a full bar available. Service was attentive. Portions were large. My favorite is the veal Park. Plan on taking a “doggy bag” home

A big miss this time

By CLM409 |

We have been to this restaurant many times and had very good experiences and well done meals. However on this visit it was deplorable. The service was so negligent that we left. The restaurant was about a quarter full, late on a Saturday afternoon, so no reason for the lack of service. We sat for almost 15 minutes and were completely ignored by every staff member that passed by us-no water, no greeting, nothing. A few minutes after we left the manager called and wanted to know if everything was okay. I explained how awful the experience was. He acted concerned and apologized, but that was it. How about a little financial gesture to smooth things over and attract us back? We are in no rush to return, sadly.

Italiano

By 63impala |

For me to eat in an Italian Restaurant is rare. If I want authentic Italian food, I will eat at my mother in laws. With that said, the food was actually pretty good here. The service was excellent and I sure didnt leave hungry. Price was very reasonable too.

An institution, timeless, the synthesis of Italian American between four walls.

By Leonardo C |

Very family friendly! Our waiter, Randy, was the kindest, most genuine and authentic waiter we’ve ever seen or met, ever !

Excellent Italian

By John C |

We'd eaten at Maggiano's only one other time - in Phoenix back in 2005. It was great then so we wanted to do it again. It was the night before the Army-Navy game so we knew our chances of even getting in at this location were slim. But we called - wait time was 45-hour but were told there were a few tables available as long as we didn't mind sitting at the bar. So we made the walk over from our rental and mentioned that to the hostess and, sure enough, we were immediately seated in the bar. Figured then the service would be slow but once again were surprised. We had our entire meal - including a dessert - paid for and out the door in the same amount of time we would have had to wait for a table elsewhere. Food was once again excellent and prices fair for the amount you receive. Great experience once again so sure we will eat at Maggiano's again when given the chance!

Maggianos - disappointing for me

By David Turley |

I will start with a positives: The manager sorted our problems to our satisfaction! So thank you! Ambiance - decor was nice! But here’s my experience: When we first arrived I was expecting a high class restaurant because of the long queues and its reviews! We tried several dishes, chicken parmigiana (smothered in a red sauce), calamari (very dry and cold) also comes with the same red sauce don’t know why? flatbread pizza not good at all! No beer on draft? Everything saturated in garlic?

Great location, average quality

By TravelCheaper.ie |

We chose this restaurant because of its great location across from our hotel. The friendly reception staff warmly greeted us and kept us updated as we waited for our table. The decor in the main restaurant felt cold and uninviting and unfortunately, this followed through to our food. The service was friendly but poor, we were given the wrong order twice with long waiting times. Perhaps on a not so busy day, they might be given another shot but I don't think I'll be rushing back myself.

Very good food for fair price

By Fuchsi |

Very good food and also more than fair portions for the price without the quality suffering. Have eaten the menu for four for $53 per person and it was still enough for the day after. For packing, a bowl is given as with the delivery service top.

Wonderful

Close to convention center

By David B |

I had high expectations given the location and obvious popularity. Unfortunately my steak was a little gristley. Others seemed to like their meals though.

Fabulous food and excellent

By Jules1962 |

Fabulous food and excellent service. Wine is overpriced but otherwise it’s wonderful. Great atmosphere and well worth the visit

Excellent choice

By KH198 |

We took our young grandson here for dinner, and had a wonderful time. The place has a lively hustle-bustle to it, but conversation was remarkably easy. The food is classic Italian-American, and is excellent. I had the veal piccata which was as good as any I've ever tasted, and my wife was delighted with her filet mignon which she said was cooked perfectly. Our delightful server was able to cater perfectly to our grandson's specific request for spaghetti without sauce, and one meatball. He was very happy, and so were we. I highly recommend this place.

Delivers. Every. Time.

By Worktripgoodfood |

Yeah, I know. A review about a place with a gazillion other reviews. That’s because it is awesome and consistent and can be an overall great experience particularly if you are watching what you eat. I love the lighter take menu. I find that if you order most any of the lighter take offerings and skip the bread and pasta (just go ahead and do yourself a favor and tell them not to serve it lol) and replace the pasta with steamed asparagus or broccoli or a side salad, you can have a fabulous meal for not too many WW points. Plus portions are large enough that you can get two meals out of it if you want. And if you want some pasta without the heaviness of gluten, the GF corn pasta is a great substitute and is lighter (and just don’t eat it all!).

Dinner with Friends

By Lakieshah B |

OMG! I've been to Maggiano's many times but never felt compelled to write a review. Until now...when I say this was THE best piece of meat that ever graced my palate I am not exaggerating! I typically order pasta, it's an Italian restaurant right? I was in the mood for a meat and starch so I ordered the prime ribeye. Slightly hesitant at first due to the price and fact that I wasn't in a steak house. Boy...oh boy was I pleasantly surprised. Flavored to perfection and super tender. The entire meal from my appetizer, drink and entree was amazing!

“Welcome to the best Americanized Italian restaurant in America.”

By LesDye |

When our waiter first came to our table, he proclaimed, “welcome to the best Italian restaurant in America!” Which I thought “that’s egoistic and doubtful.” The restaurant gets a lot of great reviews, but we thought it was pretty mediocre. Olive Garden mediocre. So, obviously it’s a favorite for many, but perhaps the waiter should have said, “welcome to the best Americanized Italian restaurant in America.” That would have been closer to a valid statement. The food served was nothing even close to Italian food served in Italy. The pasta isn’t fresh. There was not a selection with veal. We did enjoy the Caesar Salad, which was fresh, but very light on the garlic and anchovies. It was not how we make it at home, but still enjoyable. Ditto with the asparagus. The wine list is wide in scope (Italian, French, German, American) but narrow in selection, especially with Italian wines. If I go to an Italian restaurant, I expect a great selection of Italian wines. Not here and there were no Italian reds at less than the $50 price point. Service was very attentive. I’m happy that the preponderance of guests love this place, but its not for everyone.

Maggiano's Little Italy Restaurant in Philadelphia, PA

By Ernestsworld |

Visited Maggiano's Little Italy fine Italian restaurant in Philadelphia, PA. Several Philly friends recommended I try it out, and i'm so glad I did. I had been walking past this treasure for years, while staying at my usual hotel, right next door. Excellent food, classical decor, and did I say excellent food. Maggiano's is now on my Philadelphia, must do list. Enjoy!!

Great meal for the whole family!

By VAmap |

Wonderful meal and outstanding staff! We brought our grandkids for a weekend in Philly and chose this restaurant for convenience. Glad we did! Madeline did a great job taking care of everyone and even entertained our granddaughter. When the manager overheard our young grandson complaining about the au jus sauce on the steak, he had a fresh sauceless one prepared. Grandson declared it one of the best he’d had. Don’t hesitate to bring your family here. And order the chocolate cake!

Very delightful experience

Even though the price is a little bit expensive, but the general experience is great. There is a candle on every desk, and food is tasty.

Truly Italian!

By Maryann L |

The menu is extensive and as one would expect has much traditional Italian fare. We began our meal with a lovely bottle of red wine from Argentina. We then shared an order of stuffed mushrooms. My husband had eggplant Parmesan and I had lasagna. The entrees were delicious and could easily be shared. Service was attentive. Thank you, Madison. This is a very busy restaurant. Reservations are available on line. Also, the noise level is high.

Maggiano's Little Italy

By Marilyn M |

This restaurant is called Little Italy because it is outside of the Italian section of Philadelphia but that should not deter you from eating here. Food and service are great. Highly recommend the Linguine de Mare (enough for 2-3 people) and the chef's special of Chicken Carprese (chicken breast stuffed with cheese and tomatoes.

forgot how big their servings are...

By adventix |

I ate at Maggiano's in the past (other cities). Their food is excellent and the serving size is very generous. I had the linguine di mare and the side of crispy potatoes. Bother were amazing. The blueberry bourbon sour cockatiel was excellent to. For dessert I had their tasty vanilla ice cream, but it was just to big to finish.

Wonderfully kind staff! Great meal!

We had reservations the night before the Philadelphia Marathon; understandably, the restaurant was incredibly crowded. Nonetheless, we were seated on time and everyone working that night was so incredibly kind and patient. I was so impressed by the kindness and efficiency shown by everyone working that night. If we weren’t so exhausted from the marathon, we would have returned tonight. Thanks for a great meal and experience!

A must in downtown Philly

Wow! A must in downtown philly. Food melted in your mouth. Must try the chicken Marsala and filet!!! We were lucky enough to try the pound cake and ice cream dessert that was on special!! Service is as impressive too. Five star all the way!

Very Good Dinner!

Fantastic Italian restaurant. Service was pretty good, lots of staff present. Food was delicious. Went back a couple nights later for take out. Highly recommend.

Always good.

Always good had only one problem, ordered the Linguine di Mare that had lobster in it, but there wasn't nay in my dish. Asked the manager about it and received a bowl full of lobster to put in my dish. After that it was delicious. Service was great and the wine good.

Great place for Lunch or Dinner

Was there for Lunch and Dinner with friends. Great service across the board. Bar is excellent if you just want drinks. Be sure to make reservations in advance for dinner

Great dining in restaurant and take-out

By carmen l |

Dined at Maggiano's restaurant for lunch. They offer a nice range of brunch items and I decided to order the chicken and waffles. I enjoyed it but my daughter thought it was too spicy. It came with whipped cream and berries. Absolutely delicious. Since I enjoyed my lunch so much and found out they delivered, I decided to order the chicken francese with pasta instead of potatoes for dinner. It was excellent. I would definitely order from Maggiano's restaurant again and would recommend it as well.

Good food but somewhat noisy

By Siri S |

We are a group of friends who meet every year for a large conference, and we always have a good meal and some fun together. This time Maggiano’s was the chosen restaurant. The food was good and they have a good variety to accommodate various preferences. We began with a selection of good starters, and I especially liked the calamari. I had a steak which was cooked to perfection. Other comments were good pasta with sea food. One less star than perfect for a very noisy place. It was hard to hear what other people around the table said - we were 7 around our table. When others started to leave it was easier to communicate. We ordered four or five bottles of wine so the total was 80$ per person, tips included. A bit high of you ask me.

Italian food in Chinatown

By Brenda B |

On a Sunday night in Chinatown, Philadelphia I wanted Italian food. Maggiano's was open and a convenient location to the Hilton hotel. I took out the mushroom ravioli and mixed it with the sauteed spinach; a great combo! Good the next day too.

Quality traditional Italian

By Armando M |

In front of the downtown Mariott, we have visited this traditional Italian restaurant three times and it never disappoints. The pasta is just right, the chicken Marsala, the fruit of mare pasta, and the fettuccine with clams in lobster sauce are very good. The zucchini starters and the perfect calamari The reduced but solvent wine list Good traditional desserts recommendable

Don’t miss this one if dining in Philly

By Wendy C |

The food was great, very good service, great noise level, the staff was friendly from check in through check out. Portions were huge. Hard to decide what to order. Large dessert menu , lots of pasta, seafood, chicken and steak options- and everything is made to order so you can change or omit anything. I will definitely go back. Great location too- right by Jefferson station and across the street from Reading Terminal Market.

Lovely Art Deco Style Restaurant. Poor Linguine

By The_Coach55 |

Maggiano’s is situated in the Market East area of Philadelphia. It is close to Jefferson station. We managed to get a table here early on a Monday evening without prior booking. It is a beautifully laid out restaurant with plenty of covers and excellent staff. I opted for zucchini fritte to start, linguine di mare for main course and crème brûlée for dessert. To drink, I had Italian white wine sangria, a bottle of Riesling from Washington state and an espresso martini. Everything was superb apart from the linguine. I am not keen on tomato with fish or shellfish so the warning signs were there. However, the dish consisted of a heap of mussels and clams on top of linguine in tomato sauce. If there was any lobster present, I did not notice it. A very unimaginative dish, albeit it plentiful, which marred an otherwise pleasant meal. The zucchini was great and again plentiful as was the crème brûlée. The drinks were superb as was the service from our knowledgeable waitress. Cost was a shade over $180 without service for two,

Very Nice Meal

We had a lovely meal there, although it was extremely crowded. If you are at the convention center, you will want reservations. The food and service was very good.

Birthday dinner

By applepie64 |

The restaurant is in downtown Philadelphia, not far from City Hall. The atmosphere and interior decor are very pleasant. The room is spacious with beautiful paintings on the walls and lighting that make it very cozy. We ate well, the best place in and around Philadelphia. Salmon, sea bass, a great bread served with extra virgin olive oil and a must try the hot apple tarte with ice cream. I asked to have the sea bass cooked simply, without dressings or fillings and so it was. I had a great fish cooked well, something many places can't do. However also the salmon as per the menu taken by my husband was perfect. The first night we went was my birthday, they gave us a very nice table and at dessert time, surprise, the very kind waitress brought me a composition of delicious cookies with candle. It was a nice thing I won't forget. Thank you so much!!!
