Always good

By ZeemomX3 |

Maguire's always is enjoyable. The menu choices are very different, and we've never had a bad meal. They put together wonderful favors, most enhanced by their mesquite grill. Their Maguire's pork chop is fantastic, and we love the grilled meatloaf -- never thought we'd ever rave about pork chops and meatloaf! Service is good, great atmosphere, and the prices are fair. All around a really good place to dine.

Maguire's Delivers

By Bicyclist_Al |

We recently had dinner at Maguire's to celebrate my wife and my birthdays. The dinner was wonderful, as usual. My wife chose the black bean soup as an appetizer and it was very tasty. I chose the small ceasar salad. It is nice to have a size choice on salads as some are so big you can't enjoy the following meal. For dinner I chose the Sirloin Steak Au Poive. It was perfectly cooked and very tasty. The garlic mashed red potatoes were different from most as they weren't whipped beyond recognition and in fact reminded me of a German Potato salad, very chunky. My wife opted for the Kale and Beet Salad with pears, oranges and candied walnuts. I am not a fan of kale, but this was an excellent choice on her part. Our waitress, Susie was great. She gave us enough attention to make sure the meal was going well and visited a little more after we finished. We have eaten at Maguire's several times in the past and have always enjoyed it. It was very busy when we got there, but it didn't affect the service and if you request a table on the raised level it is quite a bit quieter.

Place for a Quiet Dinner

By susieQ304 |

Maguire's is a place for dining with conversation-not too noisy. On the upscale side in ambience, entree's range from about $26 to $36. I had the maple-ginger salmon which was excellent but our calamari appetizer this visit was a bit on the salty side which is unusual for them. Valet parking available on weekends and they take reservations. Overall, a good restaurant with consistent quality, good service, a relaxing place to dine.

VALENTINE'S DAY WAS EXTRA SPECIAL FOR MY FAMILY

By Mikef1949 |

I wish to commend the Maguire Family for providing an a la carte menu for Valentine's Day and not forcing people into a 3 or 4 course dinner like most other restaurants that charged up to $100 per person. My elderly parents do not eat a lot and so they appreciated being able to skip an appetizer and dessert and only have an entree. Maguires made this special day even more special with their great food and exceptional service. Also, we were delighted that Mr. Maguire visited our table to make sure we were enjoying everything. Five Stars for this great restaurant!!!

Romantic Weekday Getaway

By soror0198 |

My husband had this on his list of places to try, so we went to Maguire's on a Tuesday evening for a 7:15p reservation. We actually got there about 25 mins. early and were able to be seated immediately. The decor and ambiance of the restaurant very soothing after a hard day's work. Very romantic, mellow background music playing and a nice drink selection. We ordered the Arizona Salad and the Red Snapper. The Arizona is enough for two people and absolutely delicious! You can select salmon lox or grilled chix for your protein. We selected the chicken. It pared very well with the mixture of argula, pearl couscous, golden raising, pepitas and shaved parmesan cheese - absolutely DELISH! The Red Snapper was also very good- topped with shrimp, spinach and a few other toppings....cooked very well. Lastly, we ordered the Green Dream Pie - basically it's Key Lime pie topped with a caramelized avocado and sprinkled with cinnamon. Yes, I know you're asking AVOCADO and KEY LIME PIE???? Yes, it it was delectable. Ohh and let me not forget the pie crust that was made out of chopped nuts - added a nice texture to the overall dessert!. We will definitely return - great customer service, complimentary valet and overall great place for a romantic dinner.

I love this restaurant

By sts11231 |

I love this place. It's a bit upscale, but they have never complained when we have arrived in our vacation clothes. We live in Houston so this place is about 5 hours away from home. However, every time we visit Dallas, I insist on us eating here. The food is delicious. The smoked salmon appetizer is divine (a must try if you like salmon). The steaks have never, ever disappointed. They have a kids menu if you ask. My daughters love the kids burger (hint: it's the exact same size as the regular burger and giganitc!) The tea has a peach flavor to it and is incredible. The sweet potato mash and charred brussel sprouts are wonderful! If you live in or are visiting the Dallas area, you really should give this restaurant a chance. You won't regret it!

Wonderful Sunday Brunch with Bloody Mary Bar

By Anita J |

The menu is extensive for brunch and the Bloody Mary Bar is just plain fun. Enjoyed the crab cakes Benedict. Prices are reasonable, and the restaurant has a nice ambiance for friends, business or romance.

A North Dallas Staple

By Kelly H |

This great restaurant has been around the volatile north dallas corridor and has stood the test of time. We always seem to order the same handful of things - and each and every time they are top notch! We see many of the same faces, patron's and staff, each visit, going on 10years now. Never disappointed at Maguire's!

Very nice dinner...

By Mike N |

A recent remodel of the bar area opens up the restaurant much better. Food has always been very consistent here and this visit was no exception. And I LOVE that this restaurant does half price wine on a THURSDAY as well as Sunday. Late week bonus.

Consistently great food and service!

By Sharon D |

We are regular customers of Maguires and always enjoy their consistently excellent food. We stopped by to see their new renovation of the bar area and were delighted by the change. If you haven't been, you should put it on your list. They have a new bar menu that was really delicious and innovative. We tried the fried oyster nachos and thought they were excellent. We always enjoy their Southwestern flatbread too. Great cocktails and food!

Great Bar Bites and happy hour too

By PerryJr |

This place has a great menu. so if you ant steak or seafood you can get it but you can also get great bar bites and discounted cocktails in the bar every day before 7. Try their flatbread!

Excellent food and service

By nettuno07 |

Family affair and the choices were all excellent from the Filet mignon to the Salmon special. Service walso very good.

Top notch food and service

By James W |

Decided to celebrate our 45th Anniversary at one of our favorite restaurants in North Dallas. As usual, Maguire's met all of our expectations. From the time we entered the parking lot we were made to feel special. The Valet opened the door with a welcome and the Hostess greeted us with a smile. Our reservation was exactly in the location I had requested. Our waiter was great. He helped with our wine selection and his recommendations for dinner were spot on. My favorite is the Green Chili Lasagna. It is unbelievably delicious. My wife's steak and crab cake was excellent. Our waiter was very attentive but not bothersome. Cost is very reasonable for North Dallas fine dining. Maguire's remains one of our favorites.

A staple for North Dallas

By JimB |

Two couples went the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The restaurant wasn't real busy when we arrive and we were seated according to our reservation. After ordering and receiving our drinks we settled down to chat. As people around arrived we noticed they were served bread with their drinks. Took us a while to finally flag down our waiter and when we asked why we didn't get any bread with our drinks were told you have to order it...guess we were the only people in the place that didn't know to order bread. The meals were fine and the rest of the service was OK.

Excellent restaurant and menu selection

By Ronald C |

Our group of six had dinner here during 'Thanksgiving weekend. The site was attractive and clean and appealing. The menu was primarily American with a very good selection of entrees. Food was excellent and the service was extremely good. Would certainly recommend this restaurant to anyone. I had their chili lasagna and it was very tasty!

Looking for a great business lunch site?

By ddmariah |

This is my personal fav for lunch meeting needs in far north Dallas. Love the meatloaf (very different...not your mamma's).

Great place for a special occasion

By Rawa13 |

A bit expensive but this place is ideal for a special occasion or business meeting. The service and ambience was nice. We went for the dish of the day - Salmon. It turned out to be a great choice. Well-cooked with good flavors.

Brunch Oustanding

By ChopperBenny |

Sunday Brunch is always great. . Nice u substituted sides to meet our needs. Omelette great, brunch Benny great and salads great. Service very good. Only concern is that the Music at Brunch is Too Loud. We never can hold a conversation!

Excellent

By Rich B |

We had an excellent service and meal from start to finish. We would certainly recommend this restaurant even if it is a bit pricey.

Love Their Signature Salad

By L S |

I love their signature salad, the stuffed artichokes and the seared tuna salad. Daily specials are usually very good as well. Good atmosphere and great bar for late day or night.

All-around great food, service, and prices

By Daniko8 |

I've been to Maguires a few times before, and I can honestly say I've never left feeling anything less than satisfied. On this particular visit, I was with a large party of 10 to celebrate a friends birthday. Despite being a weekend night, the wait nor the service for our large group were less than superb. I ended up ordering the calamari with Thai sauce, meatloaf with onion strings on the side (it normally comes with green beans but they allowed a substitution), and ended the meal with chocolate lava cake. All of it was delicious and for a very reasonable price when compared to similar restaurants!

Upscale and Comfort on a Budget

By Janet4Missions |

We visited this upscale restaurant after work. We made a reservation through Open Table. Our server Chris was efficient and served us timely. We enjoyed some appetizers and dinner. Their meatloaf was the choice by 3 in the party with a big thumbs up for this popular signature dish. The atmosphere is upscale but as we were casually dressed we did not feel out of place. The prices were extremely reasonable for the unique and tasty dishes. Excellent choice for families or business.

Great food and service as always at any Maguire's!

By Katherine W |

Bright and light, easy access once you find it. Good parking. Quiet enough for conversation. Good range of food choices and always good service.

Excellent in every way

By RR7 |

Once again we tried Maguire's in N Dallas. It's hard to find anything wrong or not perfect. Always a positive friendly greeting, nice atmosphere and most of all great food. The salads are fresh, the meats cooked to the right order and the sides are just right. It is consistent and always a place where you can relax and enjoy the time with no pressure. Simply a great place!

Trying to be nicer than it is.

By SuperKatie |

Maguire's is trying to be nicer than it is. The faux-fancy overtones are revealed when you see a wine listed as PINOT NOIR - FRANCE on the wine list. No restaurant in this price range should be listing French wines by the grape and country, but rather by the region. The food was ok, but not spectacular, and was really salty. There are better options in the area in this price range. (So as to not be entirely negative -- the dining area is pleasant and the waitstaff was decent, if overly chatty.)

Birthday lunch

By Hidrfoot01 |

My wife brought me here for my birthday and it was very nice. Monday, only, is trout special at lunch. It was excellent (as always). Served with mashed sweet potatoes, roasted vegetables and huge portion. I look forward to returning.

A Nice Dinner

By Mellon222 |

An overall very nice experience-- I made reservations for our party of 3 through Open Table, received a reminder call from the restaurant on the day of, and had no wait upon arrival at the restaurant. The hostess was very polite and friendly and our waitress (Lennie?) was very nice and efficient. Since it was the weekend before Valentine's we thought it might be more crowded, but it was not. Busy, but not overly so. We ordered the Calamari appetizer which was good, with the Thai sauce that had a nice kick. For entrees we had the Shrimp and Grits (very tasty, but not really spicy as billed and should also be served with the tails already peeled), the Low Country Scallops (excellent bacon marmalade and very pretty presentation), and the Maple Glazed Salmon (nice presentation and very good flavor). We also took advantage of the Sunday night half priced wine. It had been a long time since any of us had been to this restaurant, but we decided it would not be so long before we returned again.

Consistenly great food and great service

By TexasTravler1050 |

I can't believe I've never written a review for Maguires considering I have lunch there about twice a month. The food, service, and lunch specials are always worth coming back for.

Bellini Brunch

By Fred M |

Six of us gathered for brunch. We haven't been to Maguire's in years and they have remodeled since the last time we were here. For brunch they had a Bloody Mary bar - they give you the glass with the vodka of your choice and then you go add the rest of the ingredients. I opted for the frozen Bellini instead and it was a great choice. The famous Maguire's apple salad was enjoyed by some. We all shared an order of "sticky buns," a decadent joy full of calories. Five of us had one of the Egg Benedicts and one had an omelet. My choice was the crab cake EB, a unique recipe, served with roasted potatoes with peppers and onions and fruit. It was delicious and the portions were ample. They had a duo performing smooth jazz and popular tunes in the dining room. Our waitress was named Ashley and she was so good that I put a good word in for her at the front desk upon leaving. They entered my name into their computer with Ashley's name so that upon a future return I could get this waitress back again. A most pleasant time was had by all and the food was judged outstanding by all six of us. We need to come back to this place more often.

Always nice atmosphere

By Hiviki |

I tried Meatloaf and Green chili lasagna, both their specialities. They were good, but if I could ask more, I expected more flavor of green chili in Lasagna. I loved the atmosphere, so no complaints!

Our Special Place Close to Home

By bigjammy |

This is our special "Go To" steak place in North Dallas. Chef cuts the Filets off the Tenderloin after you Order. Service is always first rate and they don't overbook so we have never had to wait when we have a reservation. The remodeled bar has nice seating and enough, but not too many big screens, to see the most popular Games. Nice list of wines & the Bartenders give a pour worth the money. Seafood dishes are fresh and not over cooked. Easy to get to off the Dallas North Tollway. Be sure and try the Maguire's Salad, it's one of a kind.

Wonderful food, drinks and atmosphere for adult dining

By ArizonaTwo |

This is a beautiful dining establishment with tables set apart allowing privacy and conversation. Service was excellent, wine selection wide and with the 'special' half off a good value. Cocktails were also good. My wild copper river salmon over risotto was wonderful. The guys enjoyed their steaks, cooked perfectly. The house key-lime (and avocado) pie was rich but tasty. We were visiting friends but are looking forward to getting back. Oh the owner stopped by our table. He's clearly engaged.

Great Place To Get Together With Friends

By Bob K |

Maguire's defines itself as "casual gourmet" - all I know is I've never had a bad experience there. My wife and I met some good friends at Maguire's for Dinner on a Sunday evening. They offer a good selection of wines and on Sundays all wines under a $100 a bottle are half-price. Wed were ordering seafood so we went for Mer Soleil Chardonnay. My wife had the Pistachio Crusted Mahi Mahi and I ordered the Sea Scallops and Grits. Both dishes come with sides. Our wait person was friendly and professional answering all our questions like a pro. I had more than enough of my delicious dish to take home for a quick and tasty lunch. We never felt rushed and actually had a great conversation without having to raise our voices. Maguire's ticks all the boxes.

R perfect Drink spot after work

By RHONDA S |

Had drinks and appetizers after work, perfect! Although the bar was steps away, we gathered at a nice lounge nearby with all the booths around us filled with businessmen, girls having happy hour and some singles.

Disappointing Once Again

By Rich B |

First, the good things: Maguires Salad, server Lenny, creme brulee. However, since my wife and I both enjoy meatloaf, we both ordered the "Maguires Well Known Meatloaf" at $18/plate. Without question, I make better meatloaf at home. This stuff was almost totally devoid of moisture, bland, dry, overcooked, tasteless...stacked on lumpy potatoes!! Neither of us could even finish it!! We should have had the manager bring us something else, but we were with another couple we did not know well and did not want to make a scene.

Great Food... But Park at Your Own Risk

By KATHLEEN A |

Went here for a business function this week. The food was great, as was the service. The seabass was luscious and the apple tart was the perfect blend of warm apples, flaky crust and cold, sweet ice cream. Very well executed. Would actually consider 5 stars on the food but... Now for the downside... since there were lots of available spaces, a friend parked in the non-valet parking lot and had her window broken and items stolen from the car. This appears to be a good area, so it was pretty shocking. Noticed some signs in the lot about parking at your own risk and apparently this isn't the first occurrence. Don't leave anything in plain sight if you're going to dinner.

One of our favorites!

By dhplanome |

I love this place for ladies with lunch and for dinner with the hubby! Ladies love the Maguire's salad with their delicious dressing, and the tortilla soup! Our favorite is the flatbreads, either the featured one of the day, or the delicious Southwestern Chicken always available. We've always enjoyed any entree we've ordered, especially the fish, pasta, meatloaf, or pork chops!

Great Restaurant!

By Kevin H |

The staff is friendly and quite professional. The food is absolutely delicious and the atmosphere is subdued with perfect lighting. Highly recommend!

Salad time

By yumyumguy |

was what it felt like on this luncheon. We all had one and I had the quinoa and seared ahi choice. The ahi was yummy, but the quinoa was under cooked. Quinoa salads usually capture the flavors of the spices and liquids, but this one missed it a bit. Ahi was perfectly done. The place itself has an attractive atmosphere of upscale décor, very busy for lunch with complimentary valet. I've had better onion soup for less so this was no bueno for my pallet. I will try it again since this was my first time and there were a lot more choices. Don't take my direction on this one as I will go give it another shot, but they will not receive any YUMS for this visit. I"LL BE BAACK.

Nice lunch but not exciting

By JohnnysGoodLifeTips |

Ok food Average service No special cocktails were offered Nice lunch , good size shareable but really nothing exciting Pork chops failed to amaze Appetizers were ok Nice deserts

Always a Great Experience!

By MarkMM55 |

Always a Great Experience! We dined again recently as we had read a newspaper article that this fine restaurant was struggling a bit due to the COVID outbreak and restrictions. We live about an hour away, but decided to go with some friends to have a great meal and to support these fine folks. Once again our meal was excellent, the service was outstanding and the prices were both fair and reasonable. And, a big plus is also that the noise level in the dining space is acceptable and you can carry on a nice conversation with your friends/family. We have been coming here for years for nice dinners with friends and family and we have never been disappointed. Right now there is a nice “two-course for $28” menu which has some excellent choices. I encourage you to try Maguire’s if you have not done so, and to return once again if you have. This is a restaurant Dallas does not need to lose.

Post CoVID restrictions dining experience

By Amy W |

My husband and I have been going to Maguire's for probably 20 years. The food and the service have always been excellent and last night was no exception. These are uncertain times and I admit we were curious how restaurants would handle things. Valet was not available. Instead there was a table with sanitizer and wipes outside for patrons to utilize. Inside, all staff had masks and gloves and were seen sanitizing their gloves during our visit. Large red X's were on tables so that patrons could be seated at least 10 feet apart. We were provided paper menus and the table was likewise topped with paper. One side of the menu had all of their precautions and guidelines, including no parties over 6 people, a maxiumum of 90 minutes so they may accommodate other guests, and condiments such as salt, pepper, etc were only available on request in single serve packets. They offered a full menu that included our favorites. Our waitress, whom we have had several times, was attentive. She said she was so happy to have people back in the restaurant. I felt like she wanted to make our experience feel as normal as possible. I felt extremely safe eating there, and felt like they went above and beyond taking measures to ensure a safe but enjoyable experience. If you don't feel comfortable going out at this time, by all means, stay home. But if you do, consider going to Maguires. We felt relaxed and at home, as well as safe.

Never Disappoints!!

By JulietteM0416 |

This is Dad's favorite place so we went on Sunday to have my birthday lunch and it was fabulous! The music, food, service--everything was pristine! Dad had the ginger salmon, I had the crabmeat, spinach and smoked gouda quiche and my brother had the southwest breakfast burrito which is huge. All the portions were hefty. Everything was fresh and the dressing on the greens was sweet and nutty. Treat yourself!

Great place!

By Lynn J |

Food is good, atmosphere is good! Location is good, right off the N Dallas Tollway. Not many good restaurants good in this area, gem in the area.

Excellent brunch with great music

By George C |

Went here yesterday for brunch really good brunch with a great 2 duo playing some great jazz tunes. They also had a Bloody Mary bar where you can fix your own with lots of choice's , cost was 9 dollars per drink, we will return

Something for Everyone!

By Steve E |

One of the great things about eating at Maguires is the variety of the entre dishes. We dared to go on Christmas Eve night (and yes it was really crowded), but we had a reservation and did not have to wait at all. Now for the variety, if you like fish there are a lot of choices, Blackened Redfish (which I highly recommend), Ginger Salmon and Chilean Sea Bass are all big favorites. If a steak is what you desire the bone in ribeye is a good choice. Or maybe you want something different like meat Loaf or Green Chili lasagna. I don't think we have ever had anything bad there, just very consistent. Oh, and if you get a chance to try the lobster fried rice do not say NO!! The service on this night was a little inconsistent, but we just chalked it up to Christmas Eve.

Disappointing

By BobQuortrup |

Was told in a previous dining experience here, the Sunday brunch shouldn't be missed. Decided to try it on Mother's Day and had the same waitress who extolled the virtues before. Not sure what happened between giving our order and finishing our meal, but the disappearing act from our server was hugely disappointing. Had to ask another server for another round of drinks. We noticed the other tables(patio seating) getting very attentive service while we were virtually ignored, had to ask for napkins and eating utensils at the beginning and served a glass of wine without the glass. Overall, a poor dining experience with a server who appeared she did not want to wait on our table and frankly, was annoyed to be there at all. We will be back to dine at Maguire's, just not for the Sunday brunch. There are too many other options available.

Great food and service!

By BeachRobin |

Had the dynamite shrimp for a starter and then had the awesome meatloaf. Redfish was also good, couscous was delicious. Drinks were generously poured and atmosphere was great. Service was attentive but not obtrusive. They have it down for sure. Will definitely return.

New Location, Same Great Food!

By lisa |

Went today to the new Maguire's location. They opened about 3 weeks ago at 14551 Dallas Pkwy, Addison 75254. This used to be an Ascension Coffee location. For those of you who still don't know where this is, west side of the Tollway, South of Spring Valley sandwiched between the Moss Adams building and USI. Look for the blue umbrellas outside and you have found them! Ran into Mark the owner and he remembered me right away. Now that is a great customer experience! My office moved to Uptown about 6 years ago so I had not been a normal regular like years past. But that is just one piece of what makes this restaurant such a great dining experience. They still offer that amazing tea that I cannot get enough of (yes they still accommodate me with my normal tea to go that gets me through the rest of my day) and the food is the same delicious menu! Quality is what we have come to expect every time you visit. Highly recommend you go back to the new location for another great business lunch!

Kitchen off its mark.

By Kwan G |

Not a very good night for the meals. Maybe something off in the kitchen?? I have gone to Maguire's for several years now. Just recently returned to eat there for the first time in about two years. I have to admit most of the times I have been is during lunch. Last Saturday night we went for dinner with another couple and I have to say I was disappointed this visit. I ordered a salmon plate starter with capers, onion and some sort of tartar sauce. I guess my fault by not asking and just assuming that the salmon would be sliced lox of salmon (as it usually is when advertised as it was on the menu and should have otherwise said) but was a grilled filet of salmon. I liked it but was not what I really wanted. And the portion was really big for a starter and not an entree. My main meal probably could have been good if I could have identified what I was eating. I ordered the TEXAS SHRIMP & GRITS, 6 Jumbo Shrimp, jalapeno cheese grits, charred brussel sprouts & creole gravy. I thought I knew what to expect but the way it was plated honestly...it appeared like someone had gotten sick in my bowl. It was all mushed together. I didn't know what was what going into my mouth. The shrimp was so buried in everything I had to "fish around" to find the shrimp. It was very off putting and in the end I did not enjoy it nor did I get half way through it. Was not appealing to me whatsoever and we all know we eat with our eyes first. My husband did not enjoy his GREEN CHILI LASAGNA, Kelli Maguire's secret family recipe this time. He did have it for lunch once or twice before and it was good then but not this time something was different . Hummm..... The portions were so big they should have been advertised for two. The decor is nice and the service pretty good. I wouldn't call it high end nor could I say they have the service end perfected but you can tell they are trying. The pricing of the menu is a bit high compared to the food that is put out of the kitchen. And they did charge my credit card twice for our meal so I am still having to deal with that now with them 4 days later. Not impressed this time and may not go back again or refer Maguire's.

Company Dinner

By AndTheyAreOff |

I thoroughly enjoyed the green chili lasagna which caught my eye mostly because it sounded unusual. A warning, it is very rich, but delicious. Also had the Maguire's salad and would recommend this as well.

Varied cuisine

By Betty L |

If you want an overall selection from burgers to crab cakes..Maguire's is the restaurant for you..I find their crab cakes to be almost as good as my home (Baltimore, Md) with little filling besides crab..and a good selection of salads with dressings that are unusual and tasty..as well as the best french fries ..bar none in the metroplex! In fact we always get an order of the fries for the table when dining... Try it you'll like it!

Dinner at the Bar

By Shenleymegan |

Last week I had dinner with a bunch of girlfriends at Maguire's. There was something for everyone. We started with Ahi Tuna-- delicate and delicious. The scallops and grits dish was one of the best I've ever eaten. I tasted the green chili lasagna and decided that is what I will have next time. Overall, we were very impressed with the foid quality and attentive service. We'll be back soon.

Wonderful Food and Service

By Mark H |

Everything was wonderful, easy access off the tollway and plenty of parking. Hostess was super friendly, efficient and polite. Server was knowledgeable and provided great recommendations. Food was FANTASTIC and very reasonably priced. Drinks were also great. Overall, we had a wonderful evening and will be back for sure. Maguire's is a must for visitors and locals alike.

Sales meeting dinner

By Kapital P |

Had our sales meeting this week in Plano and this is one of the spots we hit. The wait staff was exceptional, the drinks were on point and the 8 oz filet was outstanding! If I lived in Dallas I’d absolutely be back at this restaurant quite often.

Great food and great service

By James C |

The rib eye steak was one of the best I have ever said. Everyone loved their food. Wine on Sunday is half price and great wine. Service is great. One of the best in the Dallas area

Consistently Superb

By platinumflyer2000 |

I have eaten lunch at Maguire's for years with both colleagues and friends. The food is always incredible. In nearly 15 years, I have never had a meal that was nothing less than delicious. I highly recommend Maguire's!

Will be going back... again and again and again

By sts11231 |

Maguire's is our go-to spot for the best food in Dallas. We will be back on the 27th for a family trip and well definitely be eating here. I'm already craving the salmon appetizer and delicious steaks. My birthday is only 4 days away from our visit and I specifically requested we eat here for it. We live in Houston, so we only get to eat here when we're in Dallas for something else. I wish there was a Houston location, but until then I will satisfy my cravings on our infrequent visits to Dallas.

McGuire’s continues to be a favorite of ours!

By cdfhall |

We took new friends to McGuire’s on Friday night, who moved here from Houston a couple of years ago. When we walked in, our friends commented on the fact that the restaurant had live music, too. We started with the awesome house salad. The 4 of us had the mahi, copper river salmon, shrimp & grits and filet & crab cake entrees and all of us liked our choices. The quinoa that came with the salmon was the least favored item. Each couple shared either the passion fruit ice cream dessert or the key lime pie - all very good! The fun and lively casual atmosphere make McGuire’s a great place to go! It’s nice that it’s still a good choice after all these years!

Easter Brunch

By Kathryn E |

We called for reservations at the last minute for Easter Brunch, and they fit us in. The food was delicious and the service superb. The restaurant was packed but the staff handled it with grace and style. Will come back soon to enjoy their famous meatloaf!

Great Sunday Brunch

By ChopperBenny |

Always go for dinner and brunch. Food is great. Service at Tables always good. But at bar , their service has always been ok. Love the rib eye. Salman great.

Maguire's is fast becoming our favorite place

By jamsue1 |

A few months back we had the whole family there for Mother's Day and when August arrived I looked for a place to go for our 46th anniversary. I mentioned Maquire's and my wife gave her whole hearted approval. The experience turned out to be great. Food was excellent. The only thing better was the service. It could not have been better. We picked a Sunday evening and that proved to have an extra perk. On Sunday (and some Thursdays) they offer half-price on their wines. Any wine (and they have some very good ones) under $100 a bottle is half off. I could not pass that up. The fish dish my wife had was perfectly cooked and I enjoyed a wonderful ribeye steak. They brought us a wonderful desert with "Happy Anniversary" written on it. Nice touch. I can't wait to go back.

Relaxing Atmosphere and Comforting Food

By tjc1978 |

I have dined at Maguire's a number of times in the 8 years they have been in business and always had a wonderful experience! The Maguire's Salad is my all-time fav and the Center-Cut Pork Chops are so juicy and tender you could cut them with a fork. And let's not forget the Meatloaf, it's gourmet comfort food at it's best! The private dining area is also a great place for rehearsal dinners or business meetings. There are a number of ways the room can be set. From formal dinners to cocktail parties, any group will feel welcomed by the friendly and attentive staff at Maguire's. I recommend this hot spot to anyone looking for a great value, relaxing atmosphere and comforting food.

Great place to take a group

Took my wife and family to an early Mom's Day gathering and everyone had an excellent meal with the best service.

Neighborhood Gem

By Brocka N |

I waited too long before my first dining experience here! Now, its my neighborhood go-to spot. The menu has something for everyone, even a gluten-free vegan, while maintaining a non-pretentious steakhouse feel. The prices are reasonable and the entrees are huge. 3/5 of the time, i've left with leftovers. To the left of the entrance is the bar/lounge area. It has a cozy living room feel. The build-your-own Bloody Mary bar on the Sunday brunch is rare treat in the city too.

The New Maguires

By 12wandering |

Maguires has undergone a remodeling that opens up the bar area, making the space much more open and attractive. Other interior changes add to the warmth, which makes it more inviting. There are some yummy new items on the menu which has been updated along with the remodel, but their old favorites are still available. You simply must try the Pulled Pork in wonton cups. Divine!!! I'll leave the rest up to you to decide. However, I've never had a bad meal there.

Great food, friendly service

By Criticintraining484 |

We both loved our food. The beef tip appetizer was good and the fried green tomatoes were great. We both liked our entree as well, plus the sides (and, they allow you to mix and match with sides, which is nice). Our server was very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is dark but inviting.

Another wonderful meal!!

By BobQuortrup |

Made reservations...had to wait initially but after a brief wait, were led to our table. Afterwards, meal was awesome. Steak was cooked perfectly. Onion strings should never be missed. Burger is always a favorite. Halibut special was a treat...tender and flavorful. Our server (Isaac) was attentive and enhanced our dining experience immensely. Always a favorite and can't wait to go back. One thing...wish they would bring back the spicy chicken pasta entree.

One of the best restaurants in North Dallas

By CarpeDiemDFW |

I have been visiting Maquire's since it first opened 10+ years ago and believe it or not there are many of the same people working there who helped open it (a very good sign in the restaurant business). The food is very good, the staff professional and attentive, and the atmosphere upscale without being stuffy. You can show up in shorts during the summer and sit on their patio or suit up for a business dinner with a prospective client. The meatloaf is a staple worth trying (and I am not usually a meat loaf fan). If you like chocolate, then be sure to order the lava cake in advance as it takes 15 minutes or so to cook and is well worth the extra calories.

Nice Neighborhood Place

By LeeanneRH |

I've never had a bad meal here. The place is upscale casual and the food has a nice variety for everyone. They are especially helpful with a special event (did a great job when my daughter turned 18 and it was the Prom Night dinner).

A Most Enjoyable Dining Experience

By Montgomery, TX travelers |

We made a reservation, requested a booth, and were promptly sat where we had hoped. The drinks were prepared perfectly, the service was great, and the food outstanding. A wonderful dining experience, and the prices charged reflect the quality we received.

December lunch

I eat here often for business because it is conveniently located and the food is always great. Wait staff is friendly and it is a nice place to meet.

Always crowded, for good...

By Ken H |

Always crowded, for good reason - comfort food done right.

Great experience!

By Leslie T |

We have always loved Maguires, and was hoping the new location wouldn’t disappoint and it did not! It was as good as ever and the new location is light and airy with a great patio area! Great service and food that we have always loved about Maguires!!

Come to dine vs eat

By MBDinNJ |

Come to dine - it’s a rather slow experience, but the food was delicious and our waiter was wonderful. All of the dishes we had were great but especially the “well known meatloaf” (not “famous” yet ;)). The restaurant was loud and it was a bit hard to have a conversation across our table.

Always a favorite

By CarpeDiemDFW |

The atmosphere, food, and service are always great. We tried a new dessert they just added and while I cannot remember the name of it, I can tell you it was awesome! On this particular night the weather was perfect so we were able to enjoy their patio. You should definitely give it a try if you have never been and go back again if you have!

Wonderful birthday dinner

By Hopjim |

Looking forward to coming again. Fancy but comfortable restaurant-you know its good when all ages fill the tables around you. Best redfish and calamari (appeared to be fresh and hand dusted before lightly frying) we have had in years. Good examples where they are working hard to make common dishes unique and tasty. Margarita Chicken and filet also great. Service, bread, and deserts were ok, not outstanding, but overall a nice dining option to have.

Enjoyable evening

By Lester J |

I went there with no expectations and left with expectations of returning. I had salmon. It was very tasty. The fixins that went with it were delicious too. Others had the meatloaf steaks as nd different fish dinners. Nobody had any complaints. I had the dynamic shrimp appetizer and it was well worth it. The desserts were on point too.

New Year's Eve dinner

By alicedud |

We love to dine at this local upscale neighborhood restaurant. Michelle, our regular server, took exceptional care of us, as usual. The food was prepared very attractively and no matter what you order, it's always tasty. And, you will not break the bank. We'll be returning often.

Big Brunch Crowd

By ITravelAlot8 |

Had an early lunch here on Sunday. Lots of people having brunch, we enjoyed the live piano and singer and the Bloody Mary bar looked like fun. Service was good, the burger and chicken club were both excellent. The iced tea was a little too fruity for my tastes.

Make A Reservation

By Lurline M |

Not only should you make a reservation, but make it 30 minutes on either side of rush hour. The food is that good. Wonderful menu, excellent service. A really good value in contemporary American cuisine.

Excellent As Akways!

By Mellon222 |

Visited on a Friday night to celebrate a birthday. The food and service were excellent. Always consistent great. Had the scallops with Bacon Jam and Jalapeño Cheese Grits. They were cooked perfectly and tasted wonderful! Topped off with Creme Brûlée for dessert.

Enjoy Something Different from a Chain

By SidMonge |

Very good, unique classic American restaurant. Wide variety of entrees, including vegetation and vegan options. Friends recommended the classic meatloaf and it did not disappoint. Service was good and prices were reasonable. Live music was not oppressively loud.

Beyond Excellent

By DanEspy |

The food & service here are excellent. Our waitress at the time was so helpful with explaining our choices in food & she was very attentive to our every needs. Everything from the appetizer to the dessert was delicious & high props to the chef. The complimentary valet parking is great the guys there were very kind & curteous as well. I will definitely be returning here for sure again and again.

Always a Treat

By MarkMM55 |

Once again we stopped by Maguire's for an early dinner recently. We were a party of four until our dinner mates texted to say they had an emergency and would not make it. We decided to go ahead to Maguire's as a twosome hoping that as we were "early" according to the normal Dallas dining times (6pm) that we should be OK. When we arrived...earlier than our scheduled reservation for four time...we were greeted and promptly shown to a table without any issues or comments about a reservation for four turning into two earlier than scheduled. This restaurant has been around about fifteen years and we have come once or twice a year for those fifteen years...we live in Denton, 30+ miles away or we would come more often...and have never been disappointed. I love their homemade meatloaf and my wife enjoys the salmon or their scollops. Again...not disappointed. We ordered a half Maguire's Salad to start, which I would also definitely recommend. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive, but not overly attentive as to interfere with our enjoyment of our meals. The food arrived at appropriate spacing and our drinks were handled in a timely manner as well. The restaurant has remodeled and enlarged its bar area since our last visit, but that did not seem to interfere at all with the dining area. In my opinion, they needed to enlarge the bar area. There is valet parking available or you can simply park your own car...your choice. I find pricing very reasonable, quality food, good service and a welcoming feel...plus it is quiet enough to be able to hold a normal conversation at ones table. Not stuffy quiet mind you, just not overly loud. We enjoy this restaurant and look forward to returning. If you are in the area, I highly recommend a visit. I doubt that you will be disappointed.

Great restaurant for special occasion

By Mary K |

We had three couples celebrating birthdays and we couldn't have found a better restaurant. The food was excellent, the wine excellent and the service was outstanding. We had escargo (not my thing), meatloaf, Mahi Mahi,Seabass, and Filet. All were good choices. The charred Brussel Sprouts were good as were the Lava Cake and Green Pie. Stay away from the creme Brule which was disappointing.

Nice business lunch

By 73_ptr |

We had a group of 11 for a lunch to cap a three day workshop. We had been eating at the cafeteria the previous days and wanted to have a nicer meal to end the meeting. We just showed up at peak lunch hour on a Thursday, and although the place was packed, they were able to seat us in 10 minutes. The food was pretty ok for an upscale casual place. Most people had salads and some had chicken entrees and everything was tasty and the portions were huge. The tortilla started soup was great, even, and the flatbread and calamari starters were a big hit too. The service was reasonably fast given the size of the group. The biggest surprise was the bill at only $240 plus tip - a really good deal given the quality of food and ambience. I would definitely come again!

Great place for lunch

Had a wonderful lunch with family. Menu was creative and food was delicious. Server was pleasant and attentive. A great place to meet and have a wonderful lunch.

My "Go-To" Restaurant! Always great food and great service!

Love this place. Not a chain restaurant, but always reliable. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The wine selection is fantastic and the service is friendly and well knowledged. Kudos Maguire's! Thanks for being the best in Dallas!

Power lunch spot for business meetings

By CraftBeers |

I've been going to Maguire's for years. It almost always is for work. Lawyers, bankers and business owners love to meet here. There is a nice sized room in the back for large meetings or celebrating events. I cannot say there is anything special about the decor, but it just says business meeting. The table spacing is far apart giving each table and booth some privacy. It's does not have excess white noise meaning you can hear during your lunch or dinner meeting. The food and service are very good. The Maguire Salad is wonderful. The tortilla soup and black bean soup are flavorful. The filets are perfectly cooked to order. The employees working the dining room floor are interactive, helpful and polite. They are ever present, but never interfere with the business meetings. I've not had the best luck with service at events. Only one person seems to be informed, while the rest of the employees are runners keeping the drinks, appetizers and dinners going. Be prepared to pay for the business atmosphere, service and food. During lunch salads run $12-17, sandwiches run $13-18, main dishes run $17-25, and filets run $32. It's too expensive for personal visits, but it's a great place to meet for working lunches and business meetings.

Seasoning Please!

By alana2620 |

We loved the atmosphere and our server, but why does fine dining have to lack seasoning? I ordered the chicken. The portion was huge, but I had no desire to eat even half of it because it simply lacked seasoning. My boyfriend tried the mahi mahi. Neither of us had tried this before, and neither of us will be rushing to try it again because it had no flavor. If you are looking for a nice atmoshphere and wonderful service...this is a great place, but if you want to leave fulfilled from food also...this was just not the place for us.

A really great brunch!

By Ndalsteve |

My friends and I have passed by Maguire's for years but never stopped in. Recently we decided to try brunch. What a great idea! It was great! The food was hot and well plated and the hot sticky buns were delicious. I can't wait to try it again and also try the bloody mary bar, it looked awesome.

Great place to take a date

Very Good Food

By Jennifer Groysman |

I had a gift card to this restaurant so, my husband and I went for dinner. My husband had the famous house salad. He liked it very much. I had the chicken with herb and Parmesan coating. My husband had the house burger. Both were very good. For dessert my husband had the bread pudding. It was good. The night we were there they had a man playing nice music on a key board in the bar area. We had a nice evening and would go back.

Excellent Cuisine

By nettuno07 |

Excellent cuisine from the very tender filet mignon to the maple-ginger salmon. We were part of a large group and were served some pizzette and Asian chickern on skewer. All the food was delicious and the service was superb.

Great business lunch

By APS |

My group had an enjoyable lunch. The food quality is above average, and the service was kind and efficient. The restaurant was mostly full at lunch on a Tuesday. A reservation might be a good idea.

Needs improvement!

By janetmcgrathcpa |

We went to dinner with friends. I ordered salmon which was very good. My husband ordered a steak (not cheap) and it was cold and was covered with a sauce that wasn’t very tasty. I don’t think we will be back!

Great Dinner Experience

By David K |

This was our first time dining at Maguire's. Great atmosphere and great service. We both had filet migon steak cooked medium and the steak was perfect and very tender. The steak came with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The salad was a light vinegarette with apple slices and pecans. For dessert we had chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. The food was excellent.

Great general fine dining.

Great general fine dining.

Half price bottle of wine on Sundays!

By nursemurphy13 |

We were meeting new people and wanted to impress but not in an over the top high end steak house. Maguire's was perfect. Good food and service. Sunday night is 1/2 price on bottles of most wines. We will be back.

Girls Lunch

By jaztinker |

Maquire's service is always warm, attentive and quick to respond to your needs. Our lunch was no exception. I had the southwestern salad which was both tasty and filling. Light enough for lunch but enough to satisfy my hunger as well as my palate. I have dined here many times and consistently have a positive experience with both service and food.

Nice Lunch with clients

By Likeness |

Took several clients to lunch here. I had asked for quiet seating and they did find us a nice spot away from most of the noise of they lunch hour. I ordered the caesar salad and the Tuesday lunch special of Chicken Fried Ribeye pan fried, stuffed with roasted poblano & jack,Yukon Gold smash, haricot vert, mustard seed gravy.Portions here are very big. The meat was so tender and tasted delicious. So were the mashed potatos. Did not much care for the green beans. Others at the table loved their lunch as well. They said the Maguires salad is really good. The service was excellent!! Great place for a business lunch.

Melding at Maguire's

By thetisqueen |

Might be a busy night. Might be a slow night. Might even be Sunday brunch. Whenever you're at Maguire's, you'll find something to please. Recently the dinner menu was revamped by Chef Alberto Solis and updated offerings are sure to please. Even so, thank goodness there's still the Sesame Seared Ahi Tuna, 'cause golly gee that dish is sooo good. Think of it as raw fish sliced meat loaf...but with a freshness and flavor that makes you glad you didn't go to the sushi place. After all, Maguire's still has delightful martinis, friendly service and yummy desserts like the Chocolate Marquis or the Rum Raisin Bread Pudding! Pros: Elegant casual atmosphere where you can wear dressy jeans or a strapless cocktail dress. Mostly great service. Variety of menu items from pork, beef, fish and so forth...good salads, too. Not cheap, but not outrageous pricing. Cons: Some wait staff can either be too aloof or too friendly...consider mentioning whether you need more or less interaction if it becomes problematic. Recommended!!

Outstanding meal and service! A Dallas gem!

By texmex2 |

Amazing meal from beginning to end...including service! Enjoyed the Maguires Salad...amazing Green Chili Lasagna, side corn dish - to die for! Amazing steaks too. The hot lava cake..wow! Worth the calories. Figgy pudding was the only thing that was so-so. Our server was outstanding too! Will return sooner than later.

Always Great!

By Daryl D |

I feel like I have done a great injustice by not telling more people about Maguire's. Not that it needs the pub! Without a doubt when my wife and I cannot decide where to go and what to eat, we always have a V8 moment and go to Maguires. From the bar to the kitchen, it is always well prepared. I think that most of the regulars keep it to themselves, but this kitchen produces outstanding fish, pasta and steak that i would put up against any restaurant that makes any of those dishes its main focus. Great atmosphere! We love all of the salads, especially the Maguire Salad with grilled chicken. Great prices and 1/2 price wine nights!

Also Great Place for Lunch

By Shelly O |

The atmosphere is always first class and so is the food. It was a cold rainy day but once inside, very warm and cheery! I had the Thai Beef Salad and it was perfect! The prices are on the higher side for lunch but the portions are large. The iced tea is Apricot and it is so yummy! If you are looking for an upscale lunch spot, try Maguires's...you won't be disappointed!

Birthday dinner for my Wife

By Jerry D |

Last night I took my wife to McGuire's for her birthday dinner. We both shared McGuire salad and had the 6 oz. filet which was outstanding; however, I selected the cream corn and mashed potatoes as my sides and my Wife had the seasoned vegetables at 2:00am this morning she became very sick and continued to throw up until 5 this morning after 5 she had an acute case of diarrhea. It was obvious to us at that point she had a cute case of food poisoning which we determine had to come from the vegetables as I didn't have any. I just finished talking with the restaurant manager and she was very much aware of the vegetables my wife ingested and was planning on make a note in the chefs log.

Great service, excellent menu options

By Lgo987 |

We often go on Sunday & Thursday for half price wine night. The menu has lots of great options. We like the seared ahi & skillet shrimp appetizers, the chef's daily flatbread, the meatloaf, green chili lasagna and green beans. The bar staff is awesome. We have sat in the dining room and had great service, but we prefer the bar side for a more fun and relaxing atmosphere.

Nice place for business or other lunch

By cindy w |

Great place for business or girls lunch. Good salads, quick service, nice atmosphere. I have only had salads and soup, so I can't comment on the rest of the menu, but, it Never disappoints.

Recommended - Will not disappoint!

By LuxeFamilyFun |

I admit to knowing nothing about Maguire's prior to my dinner last night. This was a business dinner booked by a local and due to my travel complications, the dinner location was moved at the last second. Maguire's was fantastic. Easy to find off the North Dallas Parkway, we were welcomed by professional valet parking (always a nice benefit). The several attentive staff at the front of the house were professional and presentable. The atmosphere had a cool, hip vibe, but was still warm enough to be comfortable. Our table was fantastic - off to the back in a circular and semi-private space. People seemed to be enjoying themselves. It was not too crowded - or too loud. Yet it was still fun for a large group. As I often dine with my entire family (five of us), we are able to taste a good portion of the interesting dishes. Tonight was an exception as I on my own with a group. The calamari was good - not great. It was ordinary. The flatbread looked good - maybe too "bready" with the crust but I didn't try it. The ribeye was great. A fine piece of meat, perfectly seasoned and prepared. That's not very fancy. The gentleman to my left had a great looking red snapper that I would have liked to try. As I don't get to Dallas that often I will probably not go back - but if I'm in the area again, I would not hesitate to visit Maguire's.

Perfect

By Julie B |

Our family loves Maguires! The food is always fresh, thoughtful, and hot. The service is great. We haven't been for brunch yet, but it is on our to do list.

Not as good as remembered

By lesleyk204 |

We used to love going to Maguires and for various reasons we hadn't been for a while, it wasn't bad but really not great!. Their house salad is still great, the other food was good but not special.really disappointed.. The wait staff were good but seemed to be overwhelmed, it took a while for for drink refills and our bread basket came well after the soup and salad, and only after our second request!

Fantastic Easter Sunday Brunch!

By TravelJunkieABC |

Made reservations at Maguire's for Easter Sunday at 2pm. Arrived on time and seated promptly. There was a great live band playing jazz/Frank Sinatra style music that offered a great mellow vibe for a Sunday. It was delightful. Our waitress was great and knew the menu very well and was helpful with descriptions and suggestions. We shared the skillet caramel pecan sticky buns to start. They were very tasty. We seemed to share the seafood theme at the table and ordered all the same things - crabcakes Benedict or the seafood omelet. The crabcakes Benedict was delicious. The crabcakes had great flavor, not heavily battered or breaded and had great tasting light flaky crab. Eggs cooked perfectly - it was awesome! Potatoes and fruit are standard sides and were enjoyed. A few of us opted to substitute jalapeño grits for potatoes and they were fabulous. The seafood omelet had shrimp, crab, spinach and mozzarella with a drizzle of hollandaise on top - the plates were cleaned! Super tasty! We averaged just under $25 per person before tip which was so inexpensive for such a lovely brunch with all seafood entrees! We will definitely be back and look forward to sampling more of this delicious menu! I highly recommend this as a brunch choice!!!

Mark knows how to treat a customer

By Tommy G |

If you just want to relax and have a nice meal at fair prices this is the place. The food is always good and the staff very knowledgeable. It is even better it you hit Maguire's on half price wine night.

One of Favorite Restaurants in Dallas

By Ansel C |

I had a business lunch today at Maquires and enjoyed a great meal with outstanding service. The waiter recommended the soup of the day and the off menu fish item. The seafood gumbo was a good as any I have had in New Orleans, The fish dish was Blackened Halibut over couscous and a squash medley.

Never a Disappointment

By Lee F |

Reliable food and service. Very attentive to special requests. Sunday brunch is excellent. Wide variety of sides, several of which are green. Meatloaf is like home cooked. Many specials on wine and frequent "special" dinners, such as recent steak and shrimp.

Great place

By Jody S |

Wonderful food and great service and atmosphere. Great bread basket. Good desserts. I love the special Maguires salad.

A restaurant that opened it's door to travelers and regulars on Thanksgiving.

By Pamela H |

I had to travel to the Dallas area over Thanksgiving staying in a hotel and no home cooking. One of the few places in the entire metroplex opened on Thanksgiving! They offered a special menu" for Thanksgiving" that was not only great food, but at a very reasonable price. Not only was I greeted with complimentary valet parking, but everyone was happy to be of service to all of us at the restaurant. I applaud the owner/management of Maguire's for being open on a holiday and offering such great food! Thank-you!

Excellent lunch stop

By Asfrench |

Maguires is always a favorite lunch spot. As I drive up and down the tollway regularly. Rarely do I wait for a table. My biggest issue is what to order. The menu has so many great selections. I highly recommend them for lunch or dinner

Elegant Affordable Dining

By Chuck R |

Mag hires has everything a very high end restaurant has, except the shockingly hight bill at the end of the night. There is valet parking, a well designed bar, the interior design is well appointed with classic dark wood and modern fixtures such as the torpedo lights. A good mix of booths and comfortable tables and chairs. The wine list is surprisingly affordable. Dinner was superb. Our table of 6 ordered a variety of entrees. The filet snd crab cake special was savory. The Pistachio encrusted mahi mahi was delicious. Service was friendly and the staff knowledgeable. This should be a regular hangout for locals.

Disappointing, badly in need of a remodeling

By gba2705 |

Food OK, prices reasonable, the decor badly in need of remodeling. The menu is p[retty limited though.

Delicious Meal

By eagles78 |

We had delicious food, great atmosphere, and great service. The filet mignon was melt in your mouth. roasted vegetables were the best i have ever had. And of course their chocolate cake is out of this world.

Nice Evening Out

A little expensive but food was good. Nothing wrong with it but I might prefer other spots for this much money.

Not as good as expected or should've been

By Omar R |

We came here anticipating great food because my wife had been here once for lunch. We had brought our friends with us along with their two kids. We started out with the fried calamari and chicken flatbread. Both were fairly good although the flatbread was lukewarm when it reached our table. For our dinners, the wives ordered two of the Salmon specials, two hamburgers for the kids and us guys ordered the 16oz ribeye steaks. The salmons were good and the wives seemed content with them and so were the kids with their burgers. Our ribeyes however were very tough to chew and were very tough to cut with a steak knife. I informed the waitress about the the steaks and she quickly retrieved them and offered to replace them with the filet mignon. The mignons were much better and as you'd expect from such a cut. The one thing I didn't like on either the ribeye or the mignon is the gravy they smothered the steaks with. The steaks didn't have a rich flavor nor were they seasoned. Veronica was our waitress who was super nice and friendly. She let me know that the manager took the ribeyes off the final check and didn't get charged for the mignons... thank you for that. All in all, this was a very bad experience and will most certainly not go back to it.

Great food and ambience

By katenvironment |

Great atmosphere, perfect for a special occasion. I had mahi mahi it was delicious and my husband had meatloaf, it was excellent.

Remains one of our favorites

By CarpeDiemDFW |

They remodeled a bit in the last few months and have a much more open and inviting bar area. Everything else is as good as it has always been--great food with several staples on the menu and great service. Some of the servers have been there since it opened 10+ years ago. That tells you something about the owner and the management.

Great Food

By asrose |

They have a great Salmon with Maple Ginger marinade that is simply the best!

Disappointing Visit

By Rich B |

My wife and I usually enjoy Maguire's, but this time it was disappointing. I ordered my filet medium rare, and when delivered it was raw inside and had to be recooked. Then we ordered our favorite, chocolate lava cake. When served, it was over baked as the lava did not flow at all, it was just a lump of chocolate. We could have gotten the same thing from Kroger for $2 !!

Always a treat

By Dave M |

Took a client for lunch a couple of weeks ago and like all of my previous experiences, the food was excellent, as was the service. Can get a little loud at the peak, but not annoyingly.

Service was expectional

By Josh B |

I pulled up around 11:40 am . The valet jumped on my car , other valet got my girl friends door very impressive , than the valet that open my wives door ran again ahead of us to open restaurant door i have never been welcome or greeted so well , Hostess was very prompt ,seated us right away , waiter was very knowledgeable , good food , clean restaurant every one was very friendly, every one was so exceptional , food was also good , very friendly and great place to go . It was a pleasure to visit , my girl friend lives in Dallas she now will go there regularly i will also go there when i am in town . Thanks

Perfect lunch!

By SHVA |

Had lunch here with friends. Perfect spot! The food is very good, generously sized! and the Chicken Tortilla signature soup has every reason to be a signature soup -- delicious!!! Wait staff is professional, friendly and efficient. Sound level is great! You don't have to shout to have a conversation with your table mates. I understand dinner time is just as good. Will definitely return!

Fish Time

By yumyumguy |

Had the blackened Mahi Mahi Friday Menu special here the other day. I have to say it is the best prepared blackened Mahi I have every seen and tasted. The seasoning and blanching were done to perfection. This is my second visit to this place and I must say I really enjoy it. It's a business lunch type of place with a higher end customer, but worth the occasional splurge. Service on this visit was sketchy. Our server seemed "in the weeds" and possibly even a bit angry about something. We were there to talk business, so the less we saw of her the better, but get it together lady. We pay you play. It's the service industry. We did not suffer in any manner and the food was delicious and light. This one gets a YUM YUM YUM YUM out of 5 YUMs

Really Good Food, Noisy Atmosphere

By 75070KP68 |

All in all, the service is average, the food is VERY good, and a bit pricey, but the place is just LOUD! I tend to judge service by how often my water glass goes empty. Let's just say that it was empty most of the meal, so I would not call the service "attentive". Granted, all the basics were correct - we were not ignored, our order was placed properly and arrived in a timely manner, and the check came and was processed in a reasonable time. So, I would say acceptable, but not overly attentive service. The food was really great! I had the shrimp and grits - which sounds like nothing to get excited about, but the grits were SO creamy and wonderful. Other folks in our party ordered the scallops, the meatloaf (yes - meatloaf), and the redfish. Everyone raved about and was very pleased with the food. I have had the meatloaf before, and it really is incredible. Granted, given the price-point, it SHOULD be incredible, but it IS, and that's what matters. My only complaint, and it WAS a Friday night, is that the restaurant is SO loud. We could barely hear each other talk without shouting, and I was, frankly, exhausted after the experience. Other than that - which might not bother you - it was wonderful.

Fabulous Food, Atmosphere and Service

By Juliette0416 |

This was our first time at this restaurant and they hit it out of the park! We went for Brunch and there was live music, a great choice of menu and drinks. We were seated immediately and our server was extremely attentive. The meatloaf was excellent as was the seafood omelette. Fresh fruit and breakfast potatoes were excellent and the presentation was beautiful. We would highly recommend you stop by and enjoy the visit as much as we did.

Good Old Fashioned meals at a reasonable price

By JParlante |

Mom's meatloaf (or pretty close) with mashed potatoes and green beans. A crusted salmon that you can enjoy instead of pretending that you like salmon. Chicken breast with mozzarella, couscous, grape tomatoes and asparagus. Okay, so the salmon and the salmon probably aren't your Mom's recipes but this is good stick to your ribs food. Half Price wine is available Thursday through Sunday. A remodeled interior still feels like the restaurant your Grandparents and parents dined at during their "day".

Consistently Outstanding

By Greg |

We have been visiting Maguire's regularly since they opened in 1999. It is very hard to name a favorite restaurant in Dallas where there are so many great options but if pressed, it would be Maguire's. Our family has probably dined here 100+ times over the last fifteen years. We have visited them for lunches, dinners and brunch. Their menu, atmosphere and service work well for each time of day and for personal as well as business functions. Some of our favorite dishes in DFW restaurants are long time standards on Maguire's menu. A few that come to mind are the smoked salmon appetizer, tortilla soup, Maguire's salad, pistachio crusted Mahi Mahi, green chili lasagna and Maguire's meatloaf. We've purchased their smoked salmon for several parties at our home. Always a crowd favorite. Their menu is not overly extensive but it is diverse enough that everyone in your group should be able to find something they are happy with. There aren't any losers on the menu. For lunch and dinner, they supplement the regular menu with daily specials. On our recent dinner visit, my wife tried the sea bass special which was superb. They offer a flatbread appetizer which is different each day. My wife and I have made a meal out of splitting a Maguire's salad and a flatbread. They offer an enchilada special every Wednesday. They vary the type of enchilada from week to week but if you are fortunate enough, their chicken enchilada with sour cream sauce is one of the best of its kind in Dallas. That doesn't sound right for a non Tex-Mex joint but it is a fact. If one is in the mood for beef, they offer a nice burger and several good steaks. The Pepper Steak with cognac peppercorn sauce is one of our favorites. They offer some killer desserts if you are so inclined. The wine list offers nice diversity in both variety and price. The bar area is comfortable and is a very suitable place to dine as well. There are several televisions in the bar so you can generally catch the major sporting event of the day if so inclined. Many of their staff members seem to stay around for a long time. That is always a positive sign to me. One of our favorite waiters has been there for more than ten years. Tables are well spaced and conversation is always comfortable. The pricing/quality relationship represents a very good value. They have a great formula and they continue to execute it well. Maguire's is our neighborhood "go to" spot. We have enjoyed many fine meals with family, friends and business associates at Maguire's for the past fifteen years. We hope to continue to do so for at least another fifteen. Cheers.

We absolutely loved everything about Maguires

We were going to Carraba's, but saw Maguires' sign & stopped in on a whim. It turned out to be one of our best dining experiences ever, absolutely rating 5 in every category. My wife had filet mignon, perfectly cooked with great sauted veggies & crabcakes, never had better, I had Sea Bass with Sauted Veggies, perfectly cooked, never had better, we both had wines recommended by Lalo our waiter, a superb red and white wine, but reasonably priced. Ceaser salad and Coffee were both excellent. The service was prompt and attentive, requests for special attention were granted with exuberence, atmosphere/ambiance was private, upscale casual. We had an absolutely wonderful unrushed experience $112.00 including wine & tax, but without tip. However, their menu offered plenty of less expensive choices. I estimate you could have a really nice dinner there for $40.00 per couple with coffee, tea, or soft drinks, but before tip.

Great place - great food and location

This is a place that's been here a long time that I hadn't eaten at before. It's really good and good atmosphere. Great salad and burger (made out of sirloin) and many sides to choose from. I will be back. They also have live music at times. I thought prices were reasonable for a more upscale place.

Return visit.

This great little far north Dallas/Addison spot is consistently serving great food, wonderful specials, and reasonable prices with a friendly knowledgeable wait staff. Our group has never been disappointed there. Great hamburgers to excellent filet of beef and everything in between. Their house salad is one of my favorite salads in town.

Great ambiance and drinks

Wonderful service at the bar and once we were seated for dinner. The leather chairs and ottomans are a really comfy spot to enjoy your pear martini! Chicken with cous cous was pretty good. Waiter was really nice and always filling our water glass. The hostess seated us and it was 8:48 and,she kept remarking about tbe timw. Odd. They stopped seating at 9. Great spot. Little off that night.

Very nice NYE dinner with friends

We had an Opentable reservation for NYE at 7:00 for 8, but our table wasn't quite ready when we got there, but the wait wasn't terribly long (less than 15 minutes). The food & service was great the entire night. They had a special NYE menu & everything everyone tried was delicious. I had the pistachio crusted mahi mahi which was one of the best meals I've had. We ended the night with coffee (delicious & nice & hot) and bread pudding, which was a little dry, but still good. I would definitely come back here for another occasion.

Excellent Meal!

We had an excellent meal here - all 3 of us really enjoyed our food. I had the Scallops - delicious!! My husband had the Shrimp and Grits which he thoroughly enjoyed and the mother had the Salmon which was wonderful!! The Maguire's salad was also a winner!! They have just remodeled the bar area which is now very nice with a great open feel. The service was also excellent! We'll be going back!!
