Yes, this is a good sushi and Asian seafood buffet, but the quality does not live up to the enthusiastic reviews others have left here. I found the sushi rice mushy and poorly seasoned. Sashimi selection was limited to basically tuna and salmon. Was it good food at a good price? That it was, but it was by no means "OMG-good."

very crowded but i will go again anyway... I don't like lines but in this place is almost inevitable...

One of the best AYCE. Unlike most that you have to order from a menu, this is a buffet that offers 30 kinds of rolls, a variety of sushi and sashimi, and made to order hand rolls. They even have abalone sushi. No grilled kama here but lots of cooked seafood and meats. Add a number of salads, udon, deep fried veges and seafood, and a good selection of desserts, you will not go away hungry. 4

Located just a few minutes from the Strip. This place will surely stun you for the fresh selections, great atmosphere and very competitive price for quantity and quality of seafood you can ever think off in a buffet style dining. Be there before dinner which is 5:30 pm and beat the crowd. It's not just a local favorite but travelers are getting to know and learn about the place.

I Go to las vegas two or more times a year.always try to go here for the fresh japanese food and the price is right.lots of selection and also a favorite with the locals.

Atmosphere is simple and the variety was excellent including hot and cold foods. Quite a line up and wait during meal times but was always fully stocked . Would definitely recommend to friends.

we had some pretty simple rolls but they were done pretty well. The sushi chefs were very friendly. good receommendation for sushi and good service which we always appreciate.

We believed that this was a recommended place to eat for good asian seafood. It was busy, but did have precautions due to covid-19. Food was available buffet style, with servers passing you each requested dish. Different bars had different styles: sashimi, mixed food rolls, fried foods, stir-fried, and deserts each had a bar area. Buffet was all you can eat for fixed price, price slightly higher than average meal. Our teenage got mildly ill from some sashimi/sushi rolls, while my wife and and I got uncomfortable but not sick. All foods were good or excellent to taste.

Absolutely fantastic Japanese food. Huge variety of dishes and all very delicious. Service was perfect. Drinks were refilled so quickly . Lived in Japan for many years so I was very happy to get a buffet that was amazing!

It's literally sushi heaven... everything is amazing and the variety to crazy big. I will eat here every time I come to Vegas.

This was the most amazing experience I have ever had at a buffet. They have fresh fish for their sushi and they have an unreal amount of variety. Desserts are fantastic. Get there before 5:30 when they open, you will wait if you go after

Excellent place. Very clean. It’s still a buffet but very well adapted for Covid situation. Food is great. Price is ok. AAA+

Everything so fresh, we love everything .. Specially the ramen, crabs and sushi selection... We don't regrets at all for choosing this place...

Not your usual Japanese Oriental Buffet. There are a lot of different items to choose from, for a reasonable fixed price. Sushi, Sashimi, Tempura, different rolls, Meat and Seafood, Rice and Noodle dishes, Soups, Ramen Noodles etc. If you are not satisfied yet, a Desert Buffet. It is self service except for your drinks. Service is Asian friendly, not very helpful. Not all dishes are 100% authentic, food quality is good, fresh and tasty. Worth to try, come hungry.

My family took me to Makino All-You-Can-Eat Sushi Buffet on South Decatur Blvd in Las Vegas for my first time. What a huge variety of food! I had 1 plate of sushi and then, ONLY crab legs! They were delicious and sweet, cooked to perfection! Not salty like some buffets will do. The service was excellent too! Be sure to get there early, a line forms before they opened for dinner at 5:30pm.

Food is above the average for a seafood buffet and as it is a very busy place the rotation of food is a good thing. But can you really enjoy food in such crowded and messy environment? Not really, we left after a while cause was just impossible to eat without noise and people waiting to be seated staring at us. Maybe good in a quiet day but I doubt there are any.

Great experience. Very busy restaurant!! Be there at 5:00 when doors open for dinner or you will have to wait.. Huge variety of food. Wide variety of sushi, crab legs, pork, beef, chicken and the list goes on! All food is fresh and tastes great! Go back as often as you like for more. You won’t be disappointed.

The most important thing about a sushi buffet is that it is run by good people. It is an absolute plus if the people are actual Japanese. The service was good and the food was excellent. Very high quality fish prepared by a very serious looking Japanese chef. I will not miss coming here on future trips. The price is good so if you happened to have a rental car, it's a must go.

My husband decided to take me to a sushi buffet for my birthday in Las Vegas. This was our second visit there and we have not been disappointed yet. They have a nice line of sushi salads, soup and more. Their fish are very fresh and delicious We will return back if we pass Vegas again. We highly recommend this restaurant if you like sushi.

I love Makino's. I used to go to the outlet mall location before they closed. I'm actually glad I'm now going to the Decatur location because the atmosphere is much nicer. Great food that is freshly made and a large selection. Already looking forward to next years visit

This was my second visit to this Makino location and the sushi and ramen noodle selection was once again outstanding. The only drawback is if you bring guest that do not eat sushi the other choices are very limited. I brought a family member that does not eat sushi this visit and they had very few food choices. Overall, if you like sushi and ramen you will be very pleased, also the servers did a noteworthy job providing drinks throughout the visit.

Over the years while the price has gone up the quality has drifted down and now hit rock bottom. We went there yesterday and it was so bad. Virtually nothing was edible. My son spitted out the oyster. The baked prawns couldn't be pried out of the shells. All the sushi were over seasoned to hide the fact they were not fresh. Even the desserts were obviously days old left over. On a Friday night, the place was literally empty at 7 pm. It is very sad, because we have great memories of Makino. We will never go back again.

What a treat to eat at Makino. It opens at 5:30 and there are a few people already waiting to get in. We were seated right away and there was five of us. Two in our party have never eaten here before so it was an adventure for them. We got the coffee jello right away because times before it would be gone. The coffee jello is delicious. It's a cool and tasty jello with coffee flavor topped with half and half. The tempura shrimp was so fresh and hot. The tempura veget had asparagus, pumpkin, squash, mushroom, bell peppers, the fried rice had lots of flavor and was delicious , the miso soup was delicious with cubes of tofu in it,sushi was fresh and you had a variety to choose from, there was seaweed salad, edamame, spareribs were meaty and tasty, and a wide range of other foods. Service was good. A gal would come around every so often and bring you tea or water to refill your cup. Great place to meet up with friends and have a great meal.

We went to Makino on Valentine's Day with a large party of 22 attending a volleyball tournament. Fortunately we made reservation because when we arrived at 5:00 opening the line waiting to get in snaked along the front of several shops at the mall. They called us in immediately and we were whisked in front of the huge line. :) Although the main course is sushi taking up almost half of the expansive buffet line there is adequate variety including snow crab legs, shrimp, fall off the bone BBQ ribs, ramen noodles with two types of broth, miso soup, yakitori chicken, teriyaki beef, spicy teri chicken, several salads, seafood ceviche, and dessert bar with chocolate fountain. I wish my stomach was large enough to have tasted everything to describe the quality but alas I was only able to partake in a very small portion of their offerings. I can tell you the quality is generally good but somewhat inconsistent. Quality of the fish for sashimi and sushi was disappointing. Being a buffet the food suffered somewhat from being prepared to fat in advance of being eaten even if we were one of the first in line. But overall a very good impression. The service was good even with the mass of people inside the restaurant. The friendly servers continually cleared the empty plates and kept our water glasses full. Would definitely return on our next visit to Las Vegas.

The restaurant was loud and busy when we went on a Thursday night. I tasted about seven different types of sushi and they were all good. The tempura was crispy and not greasy. The chicken teriyaki was okay. White steamed rice is available in a giant rice cooker located at the end of the dessert bar. The waitress was very good - getting our drinks and clearing our plates while we were up getting food. My daughter had the udon and said it was good. My dad had the crab and said it was better than the crab legs at the M resort seafood buffet.

This is probably the best sushi buffet I have ever been to. The fish is fresh and other foods taste good. I was surprised how tasty their ramen and odon were. Next time I am in Vegas this is a must visit.

Off the Strip best Asian-Sushi and delicious hot food all you can eat. This is Vegas and it is addictive!!!

Very good sushi and seafood restaurant. My wife is from Japan and this is a must do everytime we are in Vegas. They have very good fresh selections of sushi and fish. There is limited beef, but all in all it is very good.

The food was not good. The oysters were warm, and everything else did not have much flavor. The sushi left a fishy taste in my mouth as it was not fresh.

My first time here since the other location closed. This was quite a drive from my house but nonetheless it was worth it. They have awesome seafood selection. . Sushi was quite great.. come early starving.. even their desserts did not disappoint. Love love love Makinos

Prices have definitely gone up but the food quality is good. All you can eat which includes sushi and other choices makes it a good bargain.

Las Vegas is the city of great buffets with all of the casinos around. This time I wanted to venture out to something outside of the casino scene and eat where the locals eat. This buffet was only a mile or so from the strip and it is walkable. I read a few reviews prior to coming here and was recommended by someone in my facebook group. Let me say that it did not disappoint. Although I came on a Monday night, The sushi was much better quality than the sushi at normal buffets and there were a lot of varieties to choose from. The price was 30 something with tax and tip so it’s very reasonable. They even have quality snow crab legs so I didn’t miss out from the bigger buffets.

Good selection, great quality, and wonderful staff. Whether in Hawaii or here in Vegas, Makino's is a must stop for us. Wish there was one in Arizona.

I loved coming there. The waiters were very friendly and the food was high quality. The service here is very exceptional. You will NEVER regret eating there. They have a variety of sushi and seafood for seafood lovers. This place is like heaven when you walk in. The atmosphere is just peaceful. Definitely will go to this restaurant buffet again. This place is expensive but worth it for the value.

My favorite restaurant in Las Vegas. The quality and quantity of food never disappoints. Best shrimp tempura ever!

I manage to stop here every time I find myself in Vegas. The place has been consistent in quality and value over the years. It’s away from the Strip, which provides a nice respite from the tourist crowd; the patrons are mostly locals, Asians at that, a good sign when it comes to quality and authenticity. Food is always fresh and nicely presented. The staff are invariably smiling, courteous and effective: you’ll never find a dirty plate on your table or your drink half-empty when you come back from raiding the food stations. You’ll find yourself compelled to tip generously. On a weekday lunch, you can gorge yourself on fresh sushi, salads, various asian hot food for less than 30 dollars, tip included. Can’t beat that.

I had a Crab Leg craving and the wife wanted sushi. We've spotted Makino during our daily travels and wanted to give it a try. Stopped in a around 5:30 on a weeknight and it was pretty busy. Tables are pretty tightly packed, so you'll be sitting close to your neighbors for the evening, unless you're on the outskirts. Those looking for a romantic setting might choose elsewhere. Nice selection of tempura, udon bar, crab legs, meat section, shrimp and obviously, a sushi bar. Not 5 star quality, but when busy, everything is replaced fresh and quickly. Plus the preparation is done right in front of you. In fact, the crab legs were larger and better than the ones I tried at Mirage's buffet the night before. Service was outstanding with dishes removed promptly. Prices for dinner are around $30 per person. We will return.

Excellent place, lots of variety, from salad, sushi, hot food and love the crabs legs. A little disappointed that they don't serve raw oysters.

My family and friends thoroughly enjoy the variety and authenticity of Japanese cuisine at Makino. Service is prompt and courteous. The ambience is frankly noisy and not at all formal. It is, however, friendly, and the buffet is set up very conveniently. The main reason to go is for the food, which is abundant, creative, widely varied in selections, and delicious. There is such variety that every taste can be satisfied. For sushi lovers, be prepared to sample a greater selection than you have probably ever seen before in one place. Everything is fresh and superior in quality.

Thank you for a fantastic dinner. Great food and service. It is a must see in Vegas The sushi is delicious and they have great tempura

Our first time at Makino. We came on Sunday, wait about 20 min. There is quite a spread. Servers were friendly. The rice roll for the sushi is the best that ever tasted. We did not try all as there are too many. Will definitely come back.

During our 6 week Vegas vacation, the Makino became our favorite eating place. The sushi selection is huge and delicious and always made fresh. We always went there for lunch, as we are usually too tired in the evenings because of the jet lag (from Switzerland) and climbing mountains around Vegas. The warm buffet is excellent too, there is meat also but we can't comment on it as we do not eat meat. The desert selection is also fantastic and first rate and the fresh fruit are our personal desert favorites. The staff preparing the sushi and the cooks are friendly and don't tire to explain the different foods. The waitresses are very friendly, polite and helpful. It felt always like coming home - many thanks - especially to Heidi, Aya and to Anna who makes the most delicious sushi!

I first discovered this place in the late 90's and was so happy to find it still in business when I returned back in November!! Only disappointment was the crab legs are only available during the dinner hours not lunch. But there are so many choices and for the price it's a great value. The staff is very friendly and always refilling your drinks and clearing the empty plates.

We have been here many times for the Lunch Buffet but just went back for the Dinner. More expensive but worth it. So many choices, fresh, hot and cold dishes, deserts of all kinds, fresh fruit, chocolate fountain, ice cream. Tried to eat some of everything but just can't do it. If you like this type of cuisine you wont be disappointed. If you are 65 or older ask for the Senior discount.

Let's just say, the pictures look better than the food looks, but as far as taste, it's not bad for what you pay and the amount you could possibly consume. I definitely filled up on the sushi and rolls and although it wasn't pricey sushi bar, pristine quality, if you can look past the presentation, the taste ain't bad. It is what it is and you should know that going into it. If you're not into fish, the other side of the buffet is properly satisfying. My husband isn't a fish guy, but he found the ribs, noodles, fried rice, Korean BBQ and chicken to be tasty and filling. I wasn't a fan of the ramen, but I enjoyed watching the guy make my bowl. The fruit was very disappointing because last I checked, fruit should be sweet and juicy. This fruit was neither, though I watched one of the cooks diligently chopping it all up fresh. The chocolate fountain was fun as usual with the big marshmallows for dipping and the desserts were quintessentially Asian: a little different, light and not very sweet. The setting in general is pretty run down but there's significant focus on the food it seems. Bottom line: Going in with proper expectations you should be properly satisfied!

It has the widest variety of sushi I've seen, and they taste good too! The other food were also yummy. I especially liked the sukiyaki. The place was clean and staff were accommodating. A well recommended Japanese restaurant when in Las Vegas.

Selection is very good, sushi, maki, sashimi, salads, some hot dishes and deserts. Quality of food is decent buffet grade. However it seemed bit pricey, especially on Monday night, when there are not too many guests visiting restaurants.

Makino was the first all you can eat sushi restaurant I have ever been to. It was love at first bite. Served buffet style - but the food is always fresh because Makino is always busy and the food is continuously being eaten and replaced. And unlike most sushi places - they have a variety of cooked seafood and non-seafood dishes for those who don't like fish.

Good value for the bucks. Many selections to choose from, you will not regret giving this a try, unless, of course, you're not into sushi!

Sure the atmosphere is more cafeteria than cozy and romantic, but the food makes up for it. Outstanding, fresh and plentiful Sushi and Sashimi selection, crab legs, roast beef, you name it they have it. Judging from the packed tables and smiling faces this is the place to be if you have an appetite. Great for the adventurous or not so adventurous eaters.

This is my 5th time visiting Makino and it's getting better each year. Plenty of sashimi, sushi rolls awesome, other tasty foods including soups, salads, dessert (my favorite chocolate jello, green ice cream and almond cookies). This time they had plenty of dungeness crab, yummy, juicy, delicious my favorite crab. You can't find this type of crab in many restaurants, very happy that i have chance to munch on my favorite crab. Makino definitely place to visit for dinner. I will be back. D

My Korean mother in law swears by this place (Actually she never swears) and when we visit Las Vegas we happily agree to go to this fantastic buffet. The food is seriously great, wonderfully fresh and presented. Great choice. Fun and friendly. No complaints at all, it's a jewel.

One can not go wrong here if you like Japanese Food. It is an all you can eat buffet, including fresh made sushi. Just same space for the ice cream and dessert fondue. Staff has always been helpful and willing to help one member with a walker. One of our favorite spots to eat while in Las Vegas.

Buffets and Las Vegas go together ... but get off the strip for a great Asian buffet at Makino. My wife normally does not like buffets where the food sits in trays, but gave Makino a thumbs-up for its fresh selection of fish, salads, desserts and, of course, sushi. Nothing really fancy, but very tasty. It was worth the short trip to Decatur Street, north of Flamingo, to get away from the hotel buffets and overly expensive restaurants.

One of the best Japanese buffet we found, not that we found any other. Got there just as they opened(@5:30PM) so, all sushi were made fresh and readily available. Very helpful staff who constantly monitored the guests to ensure that tables were cleared and drinks were kept filled. BEST customer service we ever experienced, much like those you would expect from an authentic Japanese restaurant...buffet or not. Although they are "pricey", @$65 for 2 with soft drinks, it comes out to be a really fair value if you bring a healthy appetite. We cleaned-up 5 plates of sushi total, which brings per plate value to @$13 per plate(minus soft drinks each) for actual value of @$9 or so per person. Try finding any other Japanese sushi restaurant in Vegas for $9 a plate full of sushi.

We stopped here for dinner with my in-laws since they always eat here while in Vegas. They have a lot of different items to choose from. I tried a bunch of their sushi rolls, which were just okay to me. I did like the shrimp tempura and ate several pieces of that. My wife enjoyed the ramen. We tried a bunch of the small desserts and they were fine, but nothing special.

We met my boyfriends uncle here for lunch and it was delicious. We ate so much sashimi and their rolls-on-the-spot then we ended it with their fresh ramen! It was so soooo soo good! Their green tea ice cream was so delectable. We came back the next day with my whole family for dinner and they had crab legs and other shell fish! It was great! As per usual, we stuffed our face. Their staff was friendly and attentive!

Got there half hour before closing, which we did not know the hours of operation since it was the spur of the moment luncheon on a Saturday afternoon and was told by the hostess, and 2 waitresses that they were closing. We advised them that was fine we still wanted to be seated. The whole time we ate, we felt rushed. They keep coming to the table and letting us know that the sushi bar was going to be closing. The dessert bar and also tried to refill our drinks when it was still half full. Did not enjoy the meal because of this but I was not too impressed with their buffet. The talapia was overcooked as were the noodles. The chicken wings were dry, salad bar not much to wish for and not much variety from the buffet side. On the sushi bar, lots of choices and you could also have it wrapped and made in front of you. Ten minutes before closing they announce over a loud speaker that they were closing and grab your last dishes. We then get our check delivered to our table and our waitress comes back and ask if we could pay soon, so we get up and then she says, 'don't rush'. Too late! For me, I will not be returning or recommending this restaurant.

It was definitely worth waiting some 40 minutes for this treat on a Saturday night during holiday season. It's been already a sign of quality if the waiting line in Front of an asian restaurant is like 90% asian. Friendly staff, fantastic selection of fresh made sushi, japanese dishes and a yummy desert buffet with even a chocolate fountain. We will be back, maybe tomorrow or at least on our next visit to Las Vegas.

This was our last night in Vegas for my husband's high school reunion and his friend who live in Vegas suggested we meet at Makino, We were surprise to see that the place was packed but thank goodness we had reservation. The array of food before us was so amazing. We didn't get to try everything because tons of selections to choose from but whatever we had was so good that we were satisfied.

We had dinner here on our last night. The place was full with patrons. The sushi available was unbelievable. They had everything you could imagine seafood wise. The ceviche was amazing!!! It was so fresh and cleansing. They also had non seafood items too, including beeg short ribs, chicken, and pork ribs. Definitely going back next time in town!

Went to Makino's because I have always had a good meal with them. I love sushi. This time I was quite disappointed. The sushi rice was dry and so the toppings did not stay on the rice. Some of the fish was very mushy (which I have never experience at Makinos before). Service was still the same, but their quality control has gone down significantly.

An excellent Variety of Sushi, all kinds. As well as beef and chicken and other sorts. Food... amazing. Sushi perfectly made, fresh. Plenty to eat, nothing wrong with this restaurant.

Had my uncle's birthday ther and had great service. They had lots of food to choose from. Everything had good taste. I would go back.

An Asian Uber driver recommended as her top Asian buffet. We went on December 26th which is a normal workday- not a holiday. However, the rates were increased $5 per head. A piece of white paper covered up their normal prices. I could understand if it was Christmas Day, New Years- but we picked a day which was not a holiday. Seems a way to squeeze $ out of customers. If I go in the future I would call in advance to confirm their prices on "holiday" as they self define.

Buffett at Makino has been cheaper than Todai’s. Regarding the ever-increasing cost, Makino “only” increased a modest 2 dollars in 3 years. Today we six here to celebrate a reunion and all received senior discounts. (to be exact, $16 each for the lunch). Sushi/Rolls/Nigiri, Shrimp tempura, baked Mussel, grilled Salmon, Calamari legs/steak, Sukiyaki/Teriyaki Beef, Udon/Ramen, etc. all here and all taste good. Not available at lunch were Sashimi, Snow Crab legs, Scallop, Baked/Fried Oyster, and baked Clam. (believed they were included at dinner menu). Miso soup, made from a “soup dispenser machine”, still is tasteless. “Ramen” was a gimmick: it’s there only because it had to be. Drink was not “free” (Sake was from $3~$5). Sushi/Rolls/Nigiri were very creatively made. Desserts? Marvelous! But with limited choice. Service was very responsive and cordial.

You can't go wrong here. It's all delish on a Saturday night after a nap from working nightshift. I'm here with about 10 hrs. sleep feeling rested. They had a Makino restaurant in Ft. Lauderdale but sadly, closed it. So lucky t be in LV and its as wonderful as the other one.

Very fresh sushi and excellent variety. Main course dishes consisted of Chinese and Japanese cuisine and is very good although limited. Service was excellent and ample free parking is available. This place can get very crowded, especially during weekday lunch. Pricing is a little on the high side, but I think it's worth it.

We arrived at the restaurant at 8:40pm. The hostess told us that they have "last call" for the buffet at about 9:10 pm, since they close at 9:30 pm. At 8:55 pm they had announced last call. By 9:02pm,according to their clock on the wall, all the food was off the buffet. Most of the employees were joking and talking with each other, a few were actually doing their jobs. Our poor waitress was so embarrassed, she kept offering us food. At one point she even made us a plate of fruit for dessert. Our bill came to over $96 for three people. The hot food was lukewarm, and the sushi was dried out and stale. I am not sure it was safe. This was the worst restaurant I've ever been to.

This place is the ultimate tasty surprise restaurant in Las Vegas. Not on the strip, but easy to find at Flamingo and Decatur. The place is always busy, but we have never needed a reservation. You are on your own at a buffet with the freshest seafood ever. The offerings of sushi are unbelievable. The rolls are so beautiful and delicious that you want to try one of everything. They have shrimp cooked in many different ways. At night they offer crab legs. You can give them a bowl full of tasty treats for them to add to noodles for soup. The tempura veggies and fish are delicious. There is a good looking dessert bar, but I stick with the good stuff - all of the fish. The prices are great considering what you get. I have never been to anything similar. Most buffets offer mediocre food choices. At Makino everything is fresh and treated with loving care. You can take your time eating. I guarantee you will be delighted with the food. I will say it again, if you like or love seafood, this place will make you think you died and went to heaven.

Makino's food is Amazing. They have the biggest selection for a sushi buffet in Vegas. Everything is super fresh and made right there in front of you. They will also make something if you don't see it, or custom rolls. Great selection of Japanese food as well if you want more than sushi. Dessert bar is great Take your friends and family today. Enjoy

Want to find a AYCE sushi and found Makino. Wow, so many varieties to eat. Not only sushi but desserts like ice cream, and other hot foods like Japanese Pancake (Okonomiyaki) and Yakisoba. I do wish they had Uni and Ikura, but I understand why they are very expensive and for what they are providing at their price it's a good deal.

I like that they have a discount for short people and children. We avoid expensive ($25+) Vegas buffets because of our "tweens" having to pay full price, but Makino gives a discount if you are under 5 feet, which is great! The sushi quality was passable, and there's plenty of variety. We'll be back for sure.

Very good food. I was surprised! Food tasted like real food and not buffet food. Many Sushi choices. $20 per person for lunch + drink.

Honestly we cried for months after the Todai US restaurants closing (especially the Honolulu premise), Then we tried Makino. In our several visits we always have found cleanliness, very good service and excellent sushi and sashimi, all for just 20 bucks (lunch). Desserts are wonderful.

It is obvious this is not a place where you find high quality sushi. However if you are HUNGRY for lots of ok quality sushi and other choices then this is probably the grand daddy of Japanese buffet restaurants in Vegas. And they have been around for many years, used to have other location as well (Downtown outlet mall, now closed). What we have in here are quite a variety of cold food (salads, sushi, hand rolls), hot food, tempuras, udon and they upgraded themselves in recent years by adding the customer favorite--freshly cooked ramen station. And their dessert area is quite respectable too. Service has always been excellent--fast and efficient. Overall for around $20 weekday lunch (before tips) it is satisfying for AYCE (all you can eat).

Not sure if we went too late in the evening (around 8 PM) but the selection was limited and the crab legs were cold. I didn't feel the price was justified considering we all left just moderately full. The service was great though, I just expected fresher food and more options for the price.

We used to come here a lot (loved this place) and we stop cuz we moved. We decided to come a couple of weeks ago and we were so disappointed because they discontinued the "baked prawns". It was one of the best item they had in their selections. And, the sushi looked great but it didn't have much taste to it like it used to. Overall the visit here was very disappointing.

This was an amazing experience. The sushi, ramen, and tempura were amazing. I would have liked to seen my hostess more frequently to have my drink refilled, but overall a great dinning experience. I highly recommend this restaurant if you like sushi.

Lunch Buffet: the wait is long but it’s fast to get a table. Staff: very busy kitchen & constant creation of sushi, tonkatsu noddle soup cooked to order(made to order) and etc. waitress worked so hard and they are courteous. Food: Sushi is fresh but don’t expect to have sashimi on the buffet. They paid attention to the delicious taste, this is not your so-so average sushi buffet, I give them 5star for the effort. Even the fried rolls and food has distinctive texture and taste. The sushi pieces are sumo serving, so be prepared to eat good food. Salads and vegetables are superb. They also serve cooked asian food, sliced beef brisket, ceviche, chicama, green tea ice cream, pastries, flan, mango float and tons of fresh fruits. My favorite is the black mushroom salad...yum! Ambience: more of casual family dining, moderately lit and comfortable a/c temperature. This is the perfect place to educate yourself on Japanese food and try different varieties of food without paying a lot. Don’t be scared to try everything but make sure you only get what you can consume to avoid wastage. Overall experience is superb at the price of $25.66 (adult lunch $21.95 + hot green tea $1.75 + tax $1.96) I hope you like my review and don’t forget to hit like or thumbs up if this review is helpful to you. Enjoy your next buffet experience in Las vegas!

Was happy to find this resturant again. The one we used to frequent 2 years ago was in the Premium Outlets closed down! We loved that one but we were somewhat disappointed with this one. It was difficult to find a parking spot in the shopping center. In the restaurant the setup and decore was like a over crowded cafeteria. The lady who greetetd us was very nice so was the waitress. We went at lunch time on a week day and I felt like it was just too crowded. My 3 year old wanted to go the bathroom and when we got there we had to get in line. There were about 4-5 stalls all full for ever. The food was ok. Not as good as I remember it. The flavors were just not there. The variety was great but not the same as I recall. Not sure I will be returning.

We took it as a good sign that there were many Japanese families waiting to be seated ahead of us. Even at lunchtime the wait was only about 20 minutes, then we were escorted to a table and enjoyed our meal - the food was tasty, authentic Japanese - but the hectic and highly crowded atmosphere was rather unpleasant. That is just part of the Vegas buffet scene so it wasn't unexpected. The made-to-order tonkatsu ramen on the buffet was great, but came in a pretty big bowl! We shared one between the four of us. The sushi was freshly made and the jalapeno infused soy sauce and self-serve eel sauce was a nice addition. There was a good selection of salads and other sides like tempura, various meats and veggies, noodles, rice, miso soup, etc. The pretty little desserts were a hit with the kids, and I enjoyed the red bean ice cream. For being our one "splurge" meal during our time in Vegas - we left satisfied with Makino.

We've been here once before and it was our favourite place to get great Japanese food after a hard day at the outlet mall when they still had a location there. Though the service was incomparable, the food quality has gone down a lot. It was not only me that had the same observation but the 2 other friends that were with me. Although the price was very reasonable and the selections plentiful, I really didn't enjoy some of the dishes. The only two things I love were the baked prawns and crabs. The tempuras were a little bit soggy. The sushi rolls were a little bit off to me but maybe I'm just being too picky. Having said all that, I would still recommend this place for Japanese food lovers.

I was treated to Makino Sushi and Seafood Buffet for the first time. Great selection of good tasting sushi, salads and desserts. Reasonable price, but it gets busy. They open at 11:30 am and there's a line to get in. Service is also very good.

Went here tonight and left the restaurant super full. A lot of options. Definitely something for everyone. We will return for sure.

The fish quality here is moderate, but for the price and the selection, I am very sad that the Henderson location failed (because it cut my commute time from 30 minutes each way to 10). There are over 50 selections of sushi at lunch, dinner offers more, plus sashimi. There is a hand-roll station which I like better than most of the Nigiri. The labeling is sometimes “fresh-off-the-boat” and sometimes just lazy: We can all see it’s a “deep-fried roll.” What we can’t see is what’s inside the roll! I was also happy to see several nigiri I hadn’t seen here on my last visit: Albacore: Not seared, which is uncommon and I like best Salmon skin: This is normally a hand roll, but this nigari topping was a large strip of salmon skin with meat on it and a nori wrap over the top. This was not crisp skin, but appeared to be seared to have nice brown edges, cut and chilled before assembly into nigari. Tasty and good for ya! Scallops: Not the mayo/bay scallops, but ¼-inch thick slice of raw sea scallops. The salad section looked fresh and Makino even offered a kale salad for those trendy people who will eat that. Obviously, this long standing buffet does not stagnate with the same old stuff forever. Other hot foods include 2 fish (Tilapia, Basa), a morderate-quality steak with battered potatoes (I remember Shakey’s Pizza had “mojo” potatoes like these), noodles like chow mein and udon, chicken, nice-but-sweet chicken wings, broiled mussels and Tempura shrimp and vegetables. There is also a soup bar for ramen and udon. I really like so many things here, though none of them qualify as “best I ever had.” A good example would be the “Humberg”: This looked like it might be a “cheeseburger” patty, except that the cheese was different and the patty was “slider” sized. The cheese was a white cheese than American, perhaps provolone. I was pleasantly surprised to have a very nice meatloaf. Some people mix things into their hamburgers and still call them hamburgers. I am a purist. Either way, this was nice meatloaf, with some bell pepper, spices and likely a little bit of bread crumbs. It was also moist/juicy inside – pretty good for a buffet line. I commented to my friends, “If I knew meatloaf would come out tasting like this, I’d order meatloaf more often!” Finally, there is a good dessert section that includes a chocolate fountain and fresh fruit. Again, nothing outstanding, but this isn’t cheap junk either. The flan was particularly good. $25 for lunch ($19 for food, $2 beverage, $3 tip) may seem high, but $25 for this buffet is a great price. High 4 stars. The interesting tidbit I heard when paying: 4 attempts to open other Makino restaurants in the area failed. Yet this one is always busy! This place is such a value, I can’t understand that.

If you like sushi or sashimi this is the place for you. Chinese dumplings were very good, flavored with a tad of chili oil. Very popular with Asian locals. Expect to wait if going there for lunch

Makino sushi AYCE Japanese restaurants is well know from Vegas to California , the Vegas location been open for few years , very busy place , what impressed me the most this is the only local restaurants did a remarkable job on the Covid guidelines, social distance well performed , feel very safe and health environment , well done Management , lot of parking , restaurant not very big , but busy , we had a nice seating for 7 of us at the back of the restaurant , away the main crowd , the concept almost like the Imperial Sushi seafood Buffet , but Makino have limited seafood and no sashimi , but lovely desert station ! jus like Apple and Orange you can not compared them , both is excellent , the quality of the sushi very good fresh , prefer size cut , I love the Ika , Tako very freshly taste , the ramen station is so so , limited choices , little salty for the broth , the ramen had interesting taste , hot stations excellent set up ! variety of Asian and Seafood , mixed vegs dishes , the fried oyster and the tempura not oily or soggy at all , but the baked salmon little dry , staff very friendly and make sure our tablets well take care , not a dirty plat can find in a mins , we all had a lovely enjoyable dinner ! they open 5.30 pm , very affordable , special senior discount for dinner ! it truly worth the wait !

Good place, great selection of authentic food. All fresh and prepared on site. Quality of food is always the same since many years, I would not agree to some of the comments that this has changed recently. Lots of Sushi with great fish variety, beef Terryaki, crab legs and much more. The place itself lacks a renovation since years, the tables look like in a canteen, the service is simple, but this does not weaken the quality of the food. Only downside was that the price on FRI through SUN has been raised to 44.95, which ist quite a lot but still worth the money. One star off only for the run down athmosphere.

Pleasantly Surprised because Seafood /Meats/VG were much more fresh and tasty than other "Asian Buffets" i've tried before.... Reminded me a lot of the foods i enjoyed in Odaiba,Yokohama,Kyoto and Osaka !! Attention to details, nice displays and professional Service. Keep up the Great Work for Tourists who dont want to get beat up and robbed on the Strip for Average Food ! Domo Arigato

We visit this AYCE restaurant every time we are in Las Vegas. Very consistent quality and much better than Yama sushi. See my previous review last year. With 30 different types of rolls, pick several but leave room for all the other items like hand rolls, sashimi, sushi, udon, noodles and the variety of cooked meats and seafood. The ice cream, cream brulé and coconut pudding are also very good. There is also a 20% discount for seniors.

Great selection of sushi raw style and cooked. Many rolled options as well for those experimenting in Asian cuisine. Also other dishes too for the young minded who aren't so adventurous. I like it here rather than traditional sushi places because you have to eat the whole roll before you order another. Here you can try a small amount see if you like it and not break the bank. Fresh and delicious. Waitress are fast and friendly which is always nice. Desserts are ok small cakes and ice cream. Lunch is $19.95 for adults and worth it. Kids about half that depending on their height.

The people are nice and wide selection but very low end. Its made in front of you but its low quality frozen fish. Very thin pieces most items not very this take nothing like LA sushi which has some of the best in the country Lets say Nobu is a 9 Katsuya is a 8 this is a 3. I think lunch was $24 on the weekend dont waste your money if know good sushi. If you low end garbage then eat yourself silly.

have done the lunch buffet many times but did the dinner upon arrival in vegas. more selections, less crowded than lunch. fresh sushi & sashimi were excellent. worth the price difference, even without taking crab claws.

Our son took us to this sushi/seafood buffet. The food was great. Our only regret, we could not try even half of the offerings. We have gone 3 times with family & friends, and will go back.

Exactly as advertised: Fresh sushi and plenty of it. Much variety. Guests looked like they were all Japanese, which probably says something. Service was very attentive. All in all a fun lunch and well worth the 10 minute trip from the strip.

Makino is one of the world's best Asian buffets, period. Anyone who says otherwise or has complaints about the place should seek professional help. Seriously! Recommended that you arrive early to get a place in line when the doors open at 5:30 PM. The food is so good that the place fills up to capacity within minutes. Even if you have to wait, it is SO worth it! Enjoy... :)

Limited selection for those who don't eat wheat (all their soy sauce contains wheat). Warning: nothing is marked. Red Bean ice cream was good, as was the green beans and sea vegetable.

This is my favorite Las Vegas, Japanese seafood buffet. There are 3 main sections. Sushi, cooked Japanese food & desserts. There is soo much variety of food. Everything is fresh and it is very easy to over eat. Waitresses are very friendly. Lunch $18.95, Dinner $27.95 Mon-Thurs, $1.00 higher Fri-Sun & holidays. Children discounts. Senior 65 & older receive 20% discount on Dinner.

We were burnt out on hotel food and went looking for local places, this was one of the ones we tried. There is A LOT here . Personally to me the sushi was grocery store quality, but it was cold and fresh. The rest was all pretty good...the wait staff was nice but unfortunately this style restaurant does attract the rude patron. The restaurant can’t help that but be prepared for the pushy no manners types as there was an abundance. They keep it clean and the price is definitely on the casual side.

In an effort to escape the escalating pocketbook damage at Strip eateries, we ventured out to Makino on July 8 to eat sushi. Arriving to a nearly full restaurant, we were pleased to see a wide array of offerings ranging from hot dishes, to soups, and the cold sushi pieces, both rolls and raw. Only "issue" was none of the presentations were labelled as to components so unless you could tell exactly what it was you were left to guess. However, everything was extremely fresh and very tasty. They also had the steamed snow crab legs, boiled shrimp, and a very nice dessert tray. All in all a good value, all you can eat place at a price not to be found on or anywhere near Las Vegas Blvd. 2 Thumbs Up!

Their sushi is super fresh and delicious. So much variety. Waitress are super friendly and nice!! I wish their deserts improve. That is why I gave 4.

We had heard about Makino's at Decatur and Flamingo Roads for several years and actually finally went as the guests of friends who are regular customers. They decided to take up on a Friday night - are you kidding me, a Friday night in Las Vegas when everything is absolutely packed - we said no but they convinced us to give it a try. We were told that Makino's opens at 5 p.m. WRONG, they open at 5:30 p.m. We were also told to be there early as a line starts forming early so we arrived at 4:30 and there was already one family in line! By 5 p.m. there were 25 people in line and at 5:15 there were almost FIFTY people happily waiting for the doors to open... At exactly 5:30 the doors opened and we were seated withing 5 minutes and helping ourselves to the surprisingly large buffet of EVERYTHING Japanese!!! They had premade sushi and sashimi and you could custom request ANY sushi roll your heart and stomach desired!!! There were even a small selection of deserts. ALL was GREAT and we'll return - SOON

Makino is easy to get to with easy parking. There are plenty of seats and but it gets really busy quickly so make sure you get there early. There are many different types of sushi and rolls and they are fresh due to the high turnover. These are not miniature rolls like you get at some restaurants but many of them are quite substantial with plenty of meat. If you tire of sushi, there are so many other types of food available like different salads, noodles, udon, crab, etc. Definitely one of the better buffets around with good food all round providing good value.

The first time I went to Makino was at the premium mall north 10 years ago and was blown away. I have been back several times and noticed a slight decline in quality and cleanliness of the restaraunt. The premium mall location is now closed so I tried the Decatur location. The food and selection is average for lunch at $20 per person. Nothing offered was outstanding and the restaraunt was clean.

If you're fond of Japanese food , Makino is for you. They have a great variety of raw and cooked food. They have so much fresh and delicious sushi, sashimi as well as a selection of fresh salad. Their cooked food Includes not only includes seafood, but beef and pork dishes , as well as noodles, and soup. Their dessert is a great variety including fruits, ice cream, cakes. Sad to say, because this is the only Makino left open in Las Vegas, the restaurant is always filled, which can be uncomfortable . It's a little pricey, but it's typical for a Japanese restaurant. For the price and the good food, I still consider his one of my favorite restaurants.

We visited this place on our family vacation trip, kids were super happy with all the different types of sushi they have, we really enjoy this Japanese buffet we visited before when they were at the outlets but we didn't know they moved but on this trip we found them again so we are definitely coming back, all the food in this place is very savory my favorite is the udon with the shrimp tempura and don't forget the chocolate fountain. GOT WASABI AND SOYU???

This is an excellent, all-you-can-eat sushi buffet that usually also offers teriyaki chicken, baked salmon, fried shrimp, tempura and salad, plus a small but tasty assortment of desserts. During the annual Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas there are busloads of convention attendees who arrive at Makino's each evening. The rest of the year, the restaurant can be crowded with "locals," but there's plenty of seating and you usually don't have to wait long for a table. A 20% discount is available for dinner for customers 65 years of age or older.

I have been stopping here off and on for the last 8 years. Always fresh and good Japanese fare. Good selection of sushi, soba, hot and cold entrees. Very good value for Vegas. I come here almost every time I come to town. Worth a taxi ride from the Strip.

We love Makino on Decatur for the fast, extensive unlimited sushi. Our teenager was very impressed. We liked the customizable miso soup and chocolate fondue. As far as being the best sushi ever - sometimes Makino is, and sometimes it isn't, based on availability, but it's always a fun place to go. Highly recommended.

Reviews made me come - a bit disappointed - if you love sushi this is the place for you - local Asian buffet - not much else for the non-seafood/sushi eater. We ate crab legs - although all sushi was very fresh not the place for me. Desserts average - we did the chocolate fountain.

Makino Sushi is all you can eat buffet style restaurant, which features sushi but if you're a die hard real Japanese sushi lover then this place will disappoint you. It's a great place for cheap eats and if you're on a budget, then this is a great place to fill you up. Variety of dishes, chicken teriyaki, "sushi", yaki soba, sushi rolls, salads, tempura, and of course assorted desserts. This place fills up quickly, so I recommend coming in just before opening, otherwise expect to line up and wait...and wait. Prices are very reasonable.

This place has the best sushi selection for a buffet, not to mention the snow crab legs, shrimp tempura, and made to order ramen. The staff is friendly and they never run out of food. The only down side to this establishment is that you will definitely over eat.

The food quality varies. The cold salad and seafood dishes such as the sushi were good. Most of the hot dishes were fair to poor. Cooked fish dishes were mushy, no texture.

Wow!! This place got better with there sushi rolls, ramen area, and great selection on seafood. Only thing is the smell 😷😝 if your sitting towards the back. Staff was great and very tentative to our needs, especially, for our family of 34 people. Way to celebrate my nephew birthday....

2 days ago, me and my group had dinner here. If you feel hunger, this restaurant is the best decision. They get plenty of food there from sushi, sashimi, crab leg, ramen, cooked meals, desserts. Ice cream. We really had a good food and good time here. The restaurant space is big. Parking lot also big. Reccomended restaurant.

If you are pressed for time, Makino is good for a light meal....had one on way to the airport....being a diabetic, I just made sure I'll be ok till they serve my next meal on the plane!

This is an asian buffet with extensive sushi offerings...lunch was $20 pp...dinner is 38 but seniors get 20% off...i loved the beef sukiyaki, the tempura assorted vegetables and shrimp, the stirfry noodles ..food was good and provided a needed fix of asian food...would be good for large families and groups as many selections

Given the good reviews here, we tried Makino on Decatur while vacationing in Las Vegas. This buffet restaurant has bad ambience and is nothing like the nice setting in the LV casino hotels, although the price here is just as high ... even soft drinks are charged extra. The food presentation is disappointing and "trough-like". We have eaten in both Japanese a la carte and buffet restaurants in Canada, U.S.A. and Japan. Trust me when I say that this is not the way Japanese food should be presented and served, with chopped up sashima, unrolled-up hand rolls, unrecognizable sushi rolls, etc.

For the price, this place is Very Good! Nice buffet set-up. The food was very fresh. The service was very good. If this was on the strip, they could charge double. I will return.

I have been coming to Makino's since 2002 and probably won't be coming back. It has been going down hill ever since you brought in all the Mexican help in the kitchen. The sushi is just....half assed now. Rolls consist of the norm then all kinds of sauce poured all over. The Nigiri sushi is probably your best bet for sushi. The only problem is that they only have room for 10 pieces and they really don't like to make it until several people are waiting for more. They would rather oogle the women that are getting sushi, grow up sushi man!! Makino san, doshi tan da? Ima choto mazui desu. I take pride in my culture and have referred MANY to this restaurant but cannot in good conscience do so anymore. They keep raising prices and the food quality is sub-par. I'm really surprised to see 4 1/2 stars. If sushi is what you are in the mood for, go to one of the numerous AYCE sushi places here in Vegas. I bet their sushi chefs do not pre-slice all the fish. I don't mean what is going to be used in an hour or two, I'm talking about for the whole session (lunch or dinner). Waitresses are the only ones in this place worth a damn. Pass on this place, you would be better off going to Osaka's or even 888 Japanese BBQ down the road.

All the food here is so good. From the sushi to the ribs and all the seafood! Also there is a chocolate fountain next to a mixture of fresh fruit!

we went there for lunch and there is a lot of food to choose from their soups, fresh sushi all types like with salmon, shrimps, tuna, aocado, seaweeds, noodles, chicken etc.. and not so expensive.also more choices for desserts .This place really will satisfy your cravings for asian foods.

My annual visit o my all time favorite sushi establishment. Found this place many years ago and have told countless number of people about it. Everyone has loved it. Easy to find, quick service and very fresh sushi and other Asian delights. The beef Sukiyaki was new this year and fantastic. I wish o lived closer but the cross country annual visit makes this one of my trip highlights. Be sure to add this to one of your lunch or dinner destinations. Eat light the day before as the variety is large. Enjoy!!!!

We has a sort of mini family reunion at this place. I was not sure what to expect and i tend to be wary of buffets. But Makino surprised me. It looked clean and bright, the food was varied and plentiful and the service was good. The sushi offerings were nice and delicate. Lots of ready to eat but you could have yours made to order by one of the chefs. I am a fan of different sea foods and so I was glad to be able to get generous servings of ceviche, octopus, clams, and calamari. They do have several salads available along with fried rice and noodles so one eat very well - Asian style. They had an efficient staff to clear used plates fo that you could do your next round anytime you want. Highly recommended.

A friend took me for dinner 10 mins from the strip. The selection of Sushi is massive. For someone who likes sushi but doesn't know all of the different types, it's nice to try them all. The hot selection is very good as well. A number of different meats, including ribs, chicken and beef. I would recommend getting a cab or Uber from the strip for the value per person.

We came here for Christmas Day dinner. We did this three years ago. We thought it would be fun to go to the M, but when we arrived, the line was insanely long. We then went to the Rio and that was just as worse. We then went to Makino and had no problem getting a table, however it was 8:30 that time. We arrived just before 5 and there was already a line that snaked around their entrance. When we reached the front, they gave us a table in the back corner. It was very cozy in there on this day. The line snaked around the buffet line and the sushi area and then down one aisle right in front of our table. My parents got in line, but we stayed at the table. My dad brought us plates just in case they ran out...LOL! When the line seemed to get shorter, my parents were at the end of the sushi so we cut in front...lol! This place is Japanese food heaven! You can get handmade rolls as well, which seemed to hold up the line. I grabbed another plate and decided to fill both up since I did not want to stand in line again. Only got a couple inaris, but no other sushi. My favorite were the ribs! They had just come out of the oven and were so tender! I also liked the spicy short ribs...they had a little kick to them! Great kale salad! This was the last buffet for the year! And we have a new tradition now if we come back during Christmas.

The array and display of food is amazing! There was a huge line for opening which they handled quickly and with a smile. The sushi and sashimi were fresh the rolls beautifully arranged. The assortment of seafood and other cooked Japanese foods were so delicious. Desserts small and freshly made everyday with fresh fruit and a chocolate fountain for good measure. All you can eat never looked so good!

Great place for sushi huge selection first time there and I will be back the food was good fresh and so many selections I have to go back at least 5 times to try all

Doors open at 11:30 am, go early to be first in line. Once inside the lunch buffet was $24.95 but worth the cost for the variety of Japanese food. Items included sushi, ramen, tempura, vegetable dishes, and desserts. Ice cream had to be ordered and staff will scoop it. Clean and tasty...

First of all I am kind of surprised by the wide variance of opinion regarding Makino. My wife and I dined here twice during our last trip to LV and found the food and service to be excellent. I found all of the Nigiri I tried to be fresh and well made. They also offered rolls and hand rolls (which I did not try). For my wife, who does not like sushi or sashimi, Makino had a good selection of Japanese hot entrees including chicken and beef teriyaki, tonkatsu (deep fried pork cutlet), sukiyaki (thin-sliced beef cooked in a seasoned broth) and shrimp and vegetable tempura. There were also several salads and miso soup. The desert bar offered a wide variety of sweets plus a selection of ice creams (my wife recommends the Mango) and fresh fruit that can be dipped into the chocolate fountain. Makino will definitely be on our list of places to dine on our next visit to Las Vegas.

A friend recommended Makino to us since we love Japanese food. We dined at Makino on a Friday night and was very glad we did. The variety of sushi was phenomenal. About 10-12 types of Nagiri, lots of rolls, hand rolls, sashimi, etc. Their shrimp and vegetable tempura were very good, as well as their ribs, crab legs and desserts. Lots of other options to choose from. Go hungry to make it worth the $28 price tag.

This restaurant located on Decatur in Las Vegas , NV is alway full, I guess it is due to their fresh, quality and reasonable prices...if you go on the weekend it is more expensive, but they also add to their buffet if that is possible. They are known for their Sushi, but they also have a great counter of various other foods, if you don't like Sushi or to add to it. Lots of fresh food and deserts.

I love it.This restaurant is very good for muslims people. You get the money for food, not for place. And this subject is very important.

All information online showing price is $28.95 for dinner, but yesterday I was there and the bill was $35.95 for senior, that means $45 for adult price. This price is too expensive and not worth at all - has sushi but no sashimi, only allows 90 minutes for eating

We ate here because my wife loves Tempura and this place was recommended. We arrived a little before noon and it was already jam packed with a lunch crowd, and more people kept coming in and a line had formed. We got there right before the overflow rush and were seating in only a few minutes. There is a lot of variety of food and it all seemed very fresh and good. I am not a fan of this type of food, but was able to find enough to eat an ok lunch. My wife loved the Tempura shrimp and vegetables, and said it was very good. They continually refilled the dishes with fresh food, The restaurant is in a shopping center and we had to find parking a little bit away from the restaurant by the grocery store since it was so crowded.

I will be back. OK, so we read all the reviews about how you should get there early, how you should wait in line outside. Well we got there at 5:15pm (opens at 5:30pm) on a cold Wednesday evening. There was a group of 5 and a group of 2 there before us waiting as well. By the time it got to be 5:30, there were maybe a couple more small groups there as well. They open, seat everyone quickly and that is that. We could have got there at 5:30pm and walked right in and got a table very easily. We could have got there at 5:45pm and got a table. Now I was facing the room and the doors, as I was keeping an eye on it. The last table got filed right at 6pm. So you want to get there before 6pm. As for the food. Outstanding. Fried oysters, yum. Tempura shrimp yum. Broccoli and shrimp, yum. So many yums! The only item I wouldn't get again was the clam chowder and some of the desserts. Worth going. And if over 65 you get a discount during the week. I'm not over 65 but my friend was.

I have eaten here many times This is not upscale or fine dining but if you want a boat load of sushi at your beck and call you can't beat it. The quality is adequate and you serve yourself.

Everyone who works there are very friendly. There's also a large variety of different kinds of foods. I love sushi and I couldn't believe the variety that they have. If you don't like sushi, there's also lots of other choices. The desserts are great as well. Yes, there's the chocolate fountain, which you can dip marshmallow etc. They have the sweet red bean soup, which I haven't seen in any buffet restaurants at all. Love the taste of it. Pricing: very reasonably priced considering the large variety of food. BTW the seafood in the sushi is also very fresh. My only suggestion is the rice in the sushi should be packed tighter. The rice sometimes falls apart as you try to eat it. I was depressed for a while when Todai is closed. Now I've found my new must go Japanese buffet restaurant every time I'm in Vegas...

Wide spread of Japanese buffet assorted sushi. Very creative designs and pretty fresh as well. They also cater selection of tempura, noodles, salad and sweets corner. Venue is able to hold up quite a number of eaters at any one time so be prepared to queue for food.

Amazing once again, I come here as often as possible. Great value, not as good as it once was but still very good. Line can be long co plan ahead.

We visit Makino when we are in Las Vegas. Always busy and they have maintained the food quality since our first visit several years back. More than 2 dozen types of rolls plus a variety of sushi, hand rolls and sashimi. There are several different types of salads and cooked foods including crab, shrimp, calamari, ribs, chicken and beef. Also soup, steam clams and noodles. Fruits and a variety of desserts. You won't leave hungry. Reasonable pricing plus senior discount.

I was introduced to Las Vegas’s only sushi buffet – there are myriad AYCE, aka All You Can Eat, with table service, throughout the city – last year when a business associate took me to lunch here. Pricey, yes. Worth it, very much so. Freshness abounds, as do the varieties of rolls and, at dinner, a mound of gem-quality sashimi, including the best cuts of tuna and salmon, all for the eating. There is already a line waiting at 11:30 a.m., when the doors open for lunch. Seating is done with courtesy, alacrity and a smile. Drink orders are taken and you are on your own. The giant horseshoe-shaped sushi counter holds up to 30 varieties of cut rolls at any given time. Tongs may be missing, and cooking staff are a little bit slow on the customer service aspect, but all is in harmony as diners choose what and how much they wish. This is the big draw, sushi, fresh, sparkling, delicious. So it baffles me why anyone would even consider sampling items from the Chinese hot bar. I did, once, at the behest of a dining companion, and was completely dissatisfied. For the money, and it is steep, especially at dinner, at $26.95 per person, I am indulging in the one thing that sets this place apart from all others: Sushi. Of course, I am not a snob, and I am open to other non-piscine ideas. Such as desert. Imagine my awe when, during my first visit, I turned to my left and spy a real, live… chocolate fountain, replete with all proper goodies: marshmallows, cake chunks, fruits… Even as I am knee deep is raw fishies, that dark, sweet, unctuous liquid is never far from my mind. Service is competent, smiley-faced and fast-paced. The Makino website is a classic testament to the “I do not care what people think” school of philosophy, as typos galore are the practice rather than the exception. But I am not eating anything virtual, so let them misspell and insert wrong punctuation. More sushi‼!

They have a variety of sushi and food, the desserts are delicious, all you can eat, service is great, clean, food is tasty.

I have been dining at Makino for decades! I used to love the location they had downtown Las Vegas at the outdoor outlets many years ago. They offer a variety of fresh Japanese food including sushi and have an impressive dessert selection as well!

Wow, there were items on the buffet that I didn't recognize, they have a very large assortment of Sushi, but they have so much more. It is as good as any buffet on the strip, but with much better prices. If there is a way you can get away from the strip, it is worth some effort.

You have to eat at Makino's. Fresh sushi and lots of seafood dishes to choose from. Desert includes fresh fruit and a chocolate fountain.

We found Makino -Decatur by fluke several years ago on one of our trips to Vegas when we tried to get in at the one by Premium Outlets (closed now) during a shopping trip. We took the business card by the cashier and voila, there was a second location. Since then it's not a trip to Vegas without going to Makino at least once during our stay. If you have a family member (which we do) that is not into sushi or seafood, don't worry, there's enough selection of other cooked foods like chicken, bbq and steaks. We have been coming here for several years and I find that the service has always been excellent and majority of the time the staff are always willing to serve .If you would like something specific prepared from the sushi bar, you can always request it from the staff and they would willingly prepare it for you. I am not much of a sushi eater myself but there's more than enough selection of other foods. I'm just disappointed that they will not be serving raw oysters anymore. The servers are constantly filling your drinks that you are basically the one declining the refill. They also have very good green tea and red bean ice cream. Aside from the Makino restaurant, the mall where it is situated also has the Boiling Crab and Ricardo (Mexican) restaurants. The place does get very busy but once you are seated then you can go back and forth to the buffet with no problem at all. Looking forward to the next time we visit again.

Love taking my family to Makino's. Great selection and the price is reasonable. The only problem is, we alway OVER eat 😂.

Mirko who is the manager and other staffs are so friendly! Great place for food and performance! Definitely come back to try other dishes!

$37 the buffet , is very good , for this price , open at 5.30 pm there a line because is very successful , I mean all kind of callifornia rolls , and sushi . The restaurant itself is little bit small , and the table and chairs are very simple . The decoration is poor , they are only focus of the food . They are very welcome , service are perfect .

Lots of variety, many choices including seafood (crabs, prawns) and my favourite sashimi. You can also order your customized ramen or udon. Very well recommended.

The price is not bad for Japanese buffet, compared to the $35 average buffet on the strip. Wide choices of Japanese buffet assorted sushi and rolls. Pretty creative designs and pretty fresh as well. They also cater selection of tempura, noodles, salad and sweets corner, and a few dim sum. Service is average, plenty of parking. Long line on weekends, go there early around 5:30P.

Saturday night, no reservations, busy busy busy... we walked in and asked for a table for 20 people! No problem, we were seated towards the back. So far I was impressed. Dinner on the weekend is quite expensive ($30 per adult) but the options at the buffet just blew me away. I love sushi and I was impressed by the various options. They have maki (rolled sushi) and nigiri (hand pressed sushi) on the buffet tables. You can also customize and order temaki (hand rolled sushi) also sashimi too!! So many options!! The hot buffet and dessert section was great too. I don't eat meat... and there was plenty of food for me to choose from. Service is also great. The staff are constantly checking our tables to clear empty plates and refill our drinks. We had a wonderful dinner.

Great foods! For a sushi lover like me, absolutely recommend it to my friends. Staff are friendly and attentive of what you need cups never empty.

Delicious Japanese buffet! Loved the soups, sushi, desserts, seafood dishes, BBQ teriyaki dishes! You will luv it! :) we will go back again!

Tonight I had dinner at the Makino Buffet. The place is always busy. There is a very wide variety of sushi plus a variety of other hot dishes. Tempura Shrimp, pork ribs, chicken, fried oysters, and vegetable dishes just to name a few. They also have a variety of salads.

Great variety of all types of sushi. The restaurant is small gets very busy but it doesn't disappoint!

My first visit was in September, what an eye opener! People waiting outside before the restaurant opened at 11:30am! And the spread...endless offerings of sushi varieties, salads, entrees, desserts, and a tireless staff making sure you're taken care of during your meal. The sushi quality was very good, and for all you can eat for $19.95, what a value! I highly recommend to anyone if you haven't been here yet, make a point to stop in. Unbelievable!

By sharing your experiences, you're helping travelers make better choices and plan their dream trips. Thank you! Dinner buffet was great, fresh sushi, excellent shrimp with cocktail sauce, all the Japanese, Chinese food great. The salad bar had 5 different salads. Best deal in town if you have a huge appetite. The desserts was fabulous, gorgeous, home made mango ice cream and green tea ice cream. The staff was friendly and courteous. The restaurant very clean. Best to get there for dinner around 5-5:30pm or after 8pm when it is not as crowded. The parking lot was full.

Big variety of sushi rolls, but no more sashimi on the buffet. Good hot dishes and lots of desserts. Biggest reason to go was the sashimi, though.

We arrived just as they opened and I would recommend you do the same to sample the freshest offerings. Tempura must be hot to enjoy anywhere but no new news there. Flavors remind me of mom's cooking - very authentic - not the usual Asian fusion mashup that is so ubiquitous nowadays. Sushi is above average for a buffet. Go for the other dishes. Salads were fresh and deliciously seasoned. Great variety of hot dishes; rice, noodles, teriyaki, seafood and such. My mother and I especially enjoyed the sake kama (salmon collar) which can be difficult to find. Try the coffee jello for dessert. I'll be back again for sure.

Huge selection of sushi which was actually pretty good. Buffet also included crabs legs which were cold and kind of small. The hot table stuff included things like ribs, calamari, some typical American food etc. This part was less great. This was a bit off the beaten path too, so it takes some arrangements to get there.

Hands down the best quality and value of any LV buffet. A wide selection of sushi, great sashimi, chicken, ribs, salads, fish, crab, vegetables, soup, tempura dishes, etc. A chocolate fountain, fruit, ice creams, and delicious desserts await if you still have the desire. The entire staff are friendly and quite professional. Makino is an absolute gem and one of the city’s best.
Makino is one of my favorite places to eat..always a special treat!
This is the second time that I have visited Makino for lunch and it was delicious. We were celebrating my grandsons 7th. Birthday and my 10 year old grandson was with me also. They enjoyed the variety of sushi, salads, soup, Chinese, tempura food very much. They were delighted to see the chocolate fountain with all types of fruits to dip in it. There are a variety of other delicious desserts and ice creams to enjoy also. The restaurant is very clean, always crowded, and the service is very good. They loved it and want to return. If you want a great buffet at a moderate price for the varierty and quality of the food, try Maiko!
