Manna Korean BBQ 8188 Mira Mesa Blvd, San Diego, Ca.

By Chet S |

A true Korean BBQ restaurant. You cook your food on a grill in the center of the table. There were five adults in our party. There are two menus A1@ $26.99 and A2@ $21.99 each for all you can eat with in 2 hours. We chose the lower price. Items were Jumooluk (Boneless Marinated Beef Ribs), (Kimchee) Cadol Baegi (Black Angus beef brisket) (Spicy Chicken) (Chicken Bulgogi) (Spicy Sauce Pork Bellies) (Beef Tongue)(Sliced Pickled Radish) & ( Rice Soup) Every item was delicious was delicious and the wait staff was very attentive and quick to bring more of the items request quickly. This is a new location in Mira Mesa area. The wait time at 6 pm was about 15 minutes. Bring a big appetite and you will be rewarded.

Overpriced for quality of the meat

By emgemdodge |

I went here with my family (two adults, two small children) in April 2019 for lunch. The people were friendly and the service was prompt, but it costs way too much for what you get, quality-wise. I wouldn't return here until the prices are lower.

Great food!

By JoyceGanda |

We were craving for a Korean restaurant and searched online for a resto with good review and we found this. The queue was very long as it was dinner time but it was worth the wait. It was my first time on an eat-all-you-can Korean Resto and the food taste really great. We had the set with seafood so we can have more options. I've been to Korean resto in other states and this one tastes the best. It's a bit pricy though - so make sure you maximize the options and time.

Had to see what the story was...

By pinacoleggo |

We have our "go-to" places on Convoy and are relatively happy with the way things are. One night having tried to hit one of our faves too late to get seated right away we drove by Manna and saw for the first time in memory there was NO LINE OUTSIDE. We had to try it! We (2) walked in and the place was only 2/3 full--we thought we had lucked out! Glancing about the many empty tables (mostly 4-tops), the receptionist took us to the only very small 2-top left in the main room that was located right on the isle into the kitchen and one foot away from a vending machine. We said we would rather not sit there. She immediately copped an attitude and told us that if we did not want to sit there the wait would be at least an hour. We said "No Thanks" and as we started to leave she asked if we would mind if we sat in the "back room"? Having not been there we said let's take a look. This smaller room was also 2/3 full and ALSO only had 4-tops available. We said fine and sat down to eat at a 4-TOP curious as to why being sat at a 4-top in this room was somehow OK but not in the main room? Once we were seated and met our server things got better immediately. Wanting to try everything we ordered the $25 AYCE dinner that included seafood. Our first course included copius amounts of several excellent cuts of beef along with a wide variety of rapidly replenished side dishes. This was already plenty and we were seriously doubting our decision to pay the extra money for the seafood. If there is a next time we probably won't--the $20 AYCE is just fine. Being curious and the troopers that we are we finished off with a small amount of the hot spicy chicken and some shrimp. Both were excellent but the shrimp were whole and required too much work to eat. The bottom line for this place is that if you can really pack it away you can get your money's worth of good quality, tasty food. The prblem we find is that at our age (late 50s) AYCE and buffets are no longer as big attraction as they were. If you are still curious, start wi the $20 AYCE dinner and be sure to tell your waitress that you are only interested in sampling each thing initially and to bring you smaller portions than normal. BTW--This place would have rec'd a very good or better rating had it not been for our experience with the snooty receptionist. As we were leaving the restaurant a very forelorn looking couple was sitting at the 2-top we passed on.

Terrible Service; Meat Inferior

By C K |

Multiple times we needed to ask for assistance because our server was missing in action. The meat was tough and portions small. While the people that joined us liked this establishment, I would not return.

First time doing the Korean BBQ - Delicious!

By EKL86 |

I came here from a recommendation with my fiance. We came here hungry and left overly full! When seated they bring out a lot of small dishes of kim chi, pickled daikon, cold noodles, spicy salad, and many others. You get to order from two different menus one is more spendy than the other. From that menu you can choose different meats they usually let you choose a select amount at a time. We ordered three that was beef and chicken. Everything comes out pretty quickly and we grill it ourselves. The meat was full of flavor so we requested rice as well and thick rice paper, which are like thick rice noodles. We did a second round of meat, but only two this time because we were getting so full. Everything was good, only thing was it was quite hot in there from all the grills going and we definitely left smelling like it as well. I would come here again and on an empty stomach again. For two of us we spend around $50. Servers are very attentive and fast, which is always good.

Great korean BBQ

By suitcasediver |

A friend of mine that lives in the area told me I HAD to come try this with her. I happily agreed and we were off. We timed it terribly, as we arrived around 1215ish on a Saturday. Still, we were seated very quickly and able to get our order in. Every type of protein we ordered was wonderfully seasoned. I also really liked their kimchi. GREAT meal. Will definitely be back when in town next!

Meat-lover's feast!

By SmartBunny |

This is hands-down the best Korean AYCE BBQ place I've ever been to. Me and hubby went for the $24.95 premium deal and boy we had some of the best beef we've ever had at any restaurant. And the service is courteous, the waitresses were more attentive than those at an average Asian restaurant. Highly recommend, but can't go too often, to keep one's waist band in check ;)

BEST KOREAN BBQ

By Jloaq |

Might be a little bit expensive, but oh my god it's so good! Did not knew what Korean BBQ is but the Stuff did help us out very good and the were very friendly. Gone a lot of times there and if I ever go to SD again I'm for sure gonna go there!

Love it.

By Benjamin W |

Love this place. This is one of my “go to” spots for All You Can Eat Korean BBQ. Prices are fair and they have two menus (regular and premium). I typically order from the regular menu since my spouse isn’t too keen on the premium options. They provide your typical Korean side dishes including Japchae. There isn’t blaring music which I appreciate as well and the staff is very attentive. If you go at regular meal times expect a wait but it’s well worth it. My only regret is wishing I could eat more.

All you can eat Korean BBQ.

By Soulkitchin |

I ate so much here, we paid for the all you can eat portion of the menu and we just kept having all the different kinds of delicious meats and sides delivered to cook up right at your own table. Fun dining experience!

Great AYCE Korean BBQ!

By Luisitomx |

This was my first visit to Manna. I have had AYCE (All You Can Eat) Korean BBQ several times before at several restaurants in Kearny Mesa and was thrilled to find an option in Chula Vista. Its a little pricier than other places that I've been too, but the food is great. I chose the A1 Premium option which includes all the typical Korean BBQ meats plus a Ribeye Steak and seafood (Shrimp, Baby Octopus and Squid) options. The Ribeye Steak was good sized and about 3/4" thick. The Kalbi was almost boneless and delicious, the Pork Belly had very little fat, the Beef Tongue was delicious and the Shrimp were fresh and delicious. Of the accompaniments, the Potato Salad was the best I've ever had and the Noodles (not sure what they are called) were great. The option also came with a generous sized salad that was also tasty. All in all, an excellent meal! The service is decent, not great, but the food is worth every penny. Drinks are pricey, but that is to be expected ina AYCE establishment.

Ok

By Irene F |

I forgot to review this restaurant. Probably because it was not too memorable. My friends were raving about how good this place was. Some of my friends and I got together to check it out ourselves. As soon as you walk in, you smell food cooking and smoke. We were greeted by a waitress that sat us down in a semi clean table. No smile or intro. We picked what we wanted along with some sides. I was not really in the mood to go to a restaurant to cook my own food that day, but I went along with everyone. We ordered the usual. Pork, short ribs, Noodles, chicken. The reason why I gave it such a low score... Pricey, nothing spectacular with the menu, rude waitress, cook my own food and I came out smelling what I ate.

yummy!

By charmand3r123 |

i haven't been to too many korean bbq places in San Diego, but this one is great. if you can stand the sometimes 1-2 hr wait to get in (go at 530pm or to the San Marcos/Escondido location if you don't want to wait), prepare to feast on a lot of meat. you choose between 3 different buffet options (everybody at the table has to pick the same thing) which determine what kind of meat you get. we always get the cheapest one at like $20/person because there is a ton of variety and there are a ton of side dishes. endless marinated korean meat. it's super good. come hungry my friend!

Come hungry... All you can eat feast...

By saintba |

Well, I guess there is a first time for everything. I enjoy Korean food but I've never been to an "all you can eat Korean place before. I've eaten at several Korean places here in San Diego and all have been pretty decent. I would rate this place "good". TripAdvisor just has average and very good so I gave them the benefit and put 4 stars and very good even though I'd say they are good. Anyone that comes to Convoy Street knows there are TONS of options to choose from. I"m not even sure how anyone can choose from all these options. I read about this place from a blog online that gave it pretty good reviews. I came here with my friend with whom we hit a new spot to eat every week. He had never been here either. There is plenty of parking just past the restaurant in that strip mall type parking lot. This place doesn't have it's own parking lot but just past the restaurant is plenty of parking. The place was fairly busy when we arrived for lunch around 1 PM on a friday afternoon. I'm not really a "buffet guy" as I don't eat a ton so I guess I never feel like I get my money's worth. My friend is the same way. But we got seated and they give you the option between a $20 menu and a $25 menu. Obviously the $25 menu has a bit more to choose from. I'm the type that usually just gets bulgogi and Kalbi. I don't go for any of the other exotic stuff usually. Like all Korean places, they give you a few dishes of some side items. Although I have to say it wasn't too extensive like other Korean places I've been to. We ordered some Kalbi and bulgogi to start but then the lady said to try some brisket as well. Heck, it's a buffet and no extra charge so we said ok. She also asked us if we wanted some steamed egg. I really didn't feel like it but why not? It's a buffet right?? LOL. I kind of see the trick here. They try to get you filled up on other things and not so filled on the good beef. The brisket they started out first and it was fairly fatty. I didn't think it was that great. The bulgogi I thought was really good. And the kalbi was good as well. True to their word it truly is all you can eat. They kept asking us if we wanted more. We were full but it's all you can eat right? Let's just say we ate a lot of bulgogi! I guess we probably should have tried some other items on the menu but as I mentioned, I'm not a big eater. If you don't eat much you will probably feel like you got the raw end of the deal at these kinds of places (even though you probably really don't). If you eat a TON then these places will feel like an absolute bargain because you can eat until it hurts! The service is friendly but these women are all Korean and they barely speak English. I asked for a fork about 3 times with 2 different workers and they kept bringing something else out. I guess they didn't understand fork. But they were very friendly. During the meal, a guy came over and asked us if we wanted to change grills. (He probably could see all of the brisket burning in one corner of the grill...LOL). We were already stuffed and were on our 3rd bowl of bulgogi so we opted to quit before one of us was coughing up Korean BBQ. It was good and needless to say we left very full. I'd come back again which I think is the true test of a restaurant.

YUM!

By koshikawa |

I like how we can pick what meats we want to eat, and there's actually a good variety. Everyone really left stuffed. My kids loved eating there. Service is pretty prompt, BUT, if you go during dinner hour, be prepared for a LONG wait.

Best K BBQ Ever

By Ada |

Holy moly! My stomach is so happy! I haven’t had Korean BBQ in at least two years and wow this place did not disappoint! I flew to San Diego to visit my best friend and she took me here during lunch - everything was so fresh and there was such a huge variety of meats and side dishes. My personal favorite was the corn cheese which is served on a sizzling platter. For the meats, I ordered the pork galbi and bulgogi. This was all you can eat and we both paid approximately 17 dollars per person - what a steal!

Excellent introduction

Just finished dinner with friends at Manna BBQ absolutely amazing! This was my first introduction to Korean barbecue and it was so good try the brisket and the spicy pork also the steamed egg is awesome

Solid AYCE KBBQ

By Dane |

Been here many times for ayce KBBQ. It’s not the best in town but it’s a solid spot. All the meats are good and the service is fast. I would recommend this spot for sure...it gets busy on the weekend nights so keep that in mind and plan ahead.

This Place is the Bomb!

By Kathy D |

This is our favorite Korean BBQ. The service is excellent and the food is great. The wait staff are very helpful if you are not sure what to rder. Big selections of meat, also vegetables are available. We had ribs (highly recommend), beef bulgogi, chicken bulgogi and baby octopus. The banchan has 7 items, plus a green salad, which most Korean BBQs don' have. In fact, I think this is the only one. The dressing is great, They also have wine, which a lot of Korean BBQs don't have, other than Korean wine.

Manna Korean BBQ

By Mikki H |

What a wonderful experience! Quite a variety of meats and seafood to select from and my first time to eat squid that wasn't coated and deep fried which was good too. Excellent service!

Best Korean BBQ

By Doris K |

We went to the Manna BBQ at 8188 Mira Mesa Boulevard, San Diego, CA 92126 which is very good. Staff very friendly and helpful. One of the best Korean BBQ I have tried.

Awesome if you like food

By PETER D |

Meats, veggies, meats, garnishes, meats, and did I mention meats? You can order as much meat as you like, cook it on the grill, and voila! Dinner. Really, though, this is the best Korean BBQ I have had in the USA, hands down. Parking is a massive problem (and the only problem) with this restaurant. I've had my car towed for parking in the parking lot next to the restaurant because it is unclear exactly where one should park when coming here. If they made that very clear, then this would be a 5-star place.

New and Improved Manna

By Pauline Steele |

It’s been years since I’ve been to Manna since there were many other KBBQ spots that have opened up which I thought were better than Manna. However, I went back to Manna for the first time after years and wow I was so impressed with how much they improved and dare I say, it might become my favorite again! Parking: Depending when you go, expect it to be a nightmare since the small parking is shared with many other businesses. There’s some street parking though. We didn’t have problems finding a spot at the time we went. Wait: Our party of 2 went at 1pm on a Thursday and there wasn’t a wait. Though, they still had us put our name down on the tablet up front. Service: I really appreciated that our table had the ringer to call the servers so we didn’t have to spend time having to wave anybody down. I noticed in other tables that they had tablets where you can order from it, which was cool to see. The employees were on point: we never had to wait for grill to be changed (the lady was so fast and efficient), once you rang the bell, within 10 seconds someone was there. Everything was delivered very fast. Price: A1 with the premium meets costs $35.99 and A2 costs only $29.99. We ordered the A2 which is a very reasonable price compared to other KBBQ spots. Food: In my opinion, the quality of the meats were decent. Loooved the Teriyaki Beef Belly and their regular Beef Belly. Loved that the corn cheese was already made versus having to heat it over the grill. My husband loved that they give a generous amount of radish paper and rice paper. Appreciated that you could order Gochujang on the side. Overall: I was very impressed with the new Manna. Exceptional service, great quality meats. Will definitely come back.

Very Good

By Richard R |

I have had Korean BBQ in many places ( I really like Korean BBQ) and this was a very good experience. Most Korean BBQ place are very similar. What stuck out for me was the attention I received. The servers were on their game. The were very nice and I felt very well taken care of. I was by myself and pretty much all I had to do was eat. There are few price ranges to chose from. The higher quality of meat the higher the price. All you can eat!!! Expect to have a full belly. As usual many side dishes.

My first Korean BBQ

By straker53 |

So a coworker brought me to his local Korean BBQ and showed me the ropes. It is a very fun way to have a meal. I can not compare it to any other BBQ place but service was fast and efficient. Prices seem in line with the area. It gets pretty busy so if you do not make a reservation you may have to wait a bit. They offer a all you can eat with 2 options normal and sea food. Prices for the second are higher and the choice has to be table wide.

Great korean barbecue

By albertthedentist |

Never had a buffet with Korean BBQ. Was great. Service was excellent. You are able to prioritize your reservation on line which its good. This place is packed. Ventilation is good too. The brisket was a bit bland, but the bulgogi and the kalbi was excellent. We went with 3 people and they brought out generous portions each time. So that was great. Sides were on the table already and was excellent. Def a good fine

Great food

By Shelly M |

We went looking for some good Korean BBQ, and we were not disappointed. They have an all you can eat menu and they will just keep bringing you food until up can't take it any more. Trust me it's worth the trip.

Only for meat lovers!

By Antonia613 |

There's no other selection that you can choose to grill like fish, seafoods or veggies unlike other korean bbq house in Convoy area. Meat lovers will enjoy this place. Minimum price of 20 bucks per person is not worthed.

Great place for meat lovers!

By chihchen69 |

All you can eat, each time you can choose three kinds of meat. The quality of meat and shrimps is decent and even though lots of reviews mentioned poor service, I find the service to be fine. As soon as you finish your plates, someone will come and ask if you would like other things. $27.99 or $22.99 depending which one you choose for lunch, I find the price is very reasonable. There are so many similar restaurants nearby, I am sure the competition is harsh which drives the prices down.

Nice place to stay with friends

By Aldo89 |

It is a nice place to stay with friends and enjoy the typical Korean bow. I don't like the kind of food though. It is my personal taste.

my fave

By nrey2013 |

my fave korean bbq, AYCE. they have locations at San Marcos and Mira Mesa as well. I haven't found one that's better in San Diego.

Real Korean bbq and very popular

By Jeanne J |

A typical Korean bbq wifh salad, all the little side dishes and a selection of meats to choose from to cook at yout table. We tried most of the varieties of beef as well as the shrimp. The shrimp was good but messy to peel. All the beef was good but we especially liked the marinated ones. The rib eye dudn't have as much flavor. The dipping sauce is a somewhat sweet soy mix. It is "all you can eat" with drinks and dessert extra but who can eat dessert after this meal? Service was attentive, bringing more of whatever we asked pretty quickly. At times we felt a bit rushed when they were ready to turn our burner off while we wanted to order more meat. They were good about changing out our grill for a clean one after we had cooked several platters of meat on it. We had to wait about an hour for a table at 6:30 on a Wednesday evening. Heaters outside if you have to wait there, and benches inside.

If You Leave Hungry, That's YOUR Fault!

By globalandlocaltravel |

My boss, a co-worker and I spend nearly 2 hours here feasting on all sorts of Korean delectable treats. The kimchi and salad spread at the start of the meal is impressive. The meats are all good quality. The decor and staff attentiveness were top notch. I've never had Korean BBQ before, but I can't imagine it gets much better. Good value per person, but it isn't a cheap meal.

Great Korean BBQ

By btran321 |

This is a buffet bbq joint. You have 3 choices to pick from; Top shelf meats, deluxe meats and standard. Food is great and the service is good. The host guy is a jerk though.

Overall Poor Quality Meat

By Lollylo25 |

Sadly dissapointed. Yeah, it's great to go for Korean Br-b-Que but low quality meat, & poorly made/tiny portion sides are pathetic. I was shocked to see how busy it was here for lunch. San Diegans really have low standards if they give this place a 4 or 5 star. Don't waste your money.

Da best

By ambertheknow |

This was the single best will I have had in my life, the ribs were melt-in-your-mouth, the food was most flavorful , everything was worth eating

AYCE KBBQ in San Diego

By susuethan |

Let me begin by saying that this place is always busy. Sometimes it seems that people who have arrived after you get there table before your party does. Despite the horrendous wait time, it is worth it. The meat is delicious and is of very good quality. $19.50 may be a bit pricey for some, but the variety is excellent. I recommend the galbi and the brisket. If you're going to go, arrive an hour earlier than you originally intend to!

Ate for 52 mInutes!

By cjkrimm |

It was our first time here and we certainly gave it our best shot for eating as much as we could but only made it to 52 minutes. Your allowed time frame is 2 hours. They were very diligent in coming around to check on you to see if you needed more items to grill. They even changed out the grill halfway thru our eating time. The marinated meats and chicken were very tasty. Be sure and check in on yelp to get your free soda but make sure when the bill comes they inadvertently don’t charge you for it. 👍

Excellent quality!

By Binh L |

The food, service, and atmosphere are all great! This ranks as one of the top 3 KBBQs on my list. The quality of the meat is amazing. All the side dishes provided complement the kalbi and pork belly very well. I went to school in SD and always treated myself to Manna BBQ after midterms/finals. Unfortunately, I no longer live in SD, but whenever I get a chance to come down there, Manna is a must-go for me.

Meat Mania

By Huck K |

I'm not a big fan of AYCE Korean BBQ. However, Manna delivered with a combination of meat quality and service. We went with the mid-level A-1 tier of meats. Unless you're a pork jowel lover like me, paying $5 less per person and going with the standard A-2 tier is the way to go. My wife makes kickass galbi and bulgogi at home so I never eat those at a Korean BBQ restaurant. Instead, I go with the hard to get at home selections such as gopchang and pork jowel. The quality of both were great. The waitresses work as a team to take care of tables and didn't skip a beat with us. We were pleased. We washed down our meal with beer and soju. Why not 5 stars? A lot of reviewers called out the steamed egg but to be honest, it wasn't all that. The den jang chiggae was good, not great. The bibim neng myun was a tad on the sweet side.

Very good quality

By veronicali |

Good thing we got there before 12 pm. There was a wait when we left. There's a premium and regular buffet. We opted for the premium because it included beef tongue and prime rib. The quality is very good. Service was also good. The servers were attentive. I recommend this place.

Try the Beef Tongue - It's the Best

By Jimmy Thai DTM |

Great family-like cook at your table BBQ. Lot of food if you go for the AYCE option. Nice to have the half-dish option when you try something new and not sure if you like it (they charge extra if you waste food... Which is the right approach to control cost.) Will come back. Make reservation b/c the wait will be at least an hour.

Great Food KBBQ

By kchim |

This place is always on my to-go list whenever I am in San Diego. The second most expensive menu gives you the whole 10oz rib eye steak. Save tummy for the rib eye finger cut, too. really well-seasoned. crowds start around 6pm, go for early dinner. the side dishes have shrunk over the years though. but get the tofu soup.

BBQ Heaven

By Fordstaff |

If you like Korean BBQ, then Manna is the place for you. It's got a huge selection and the quality of the meat is pretty decent. The sides are OK... not too much selection, but overall the experience was tasty, fun and decent value for the $$.

Pretty standard fair

By satobt |

This place is one of the top rated places for korean bbq here... There is actually a little waiting line to get in. But probably 99% of people who rated this place have never been to korea or japan. As far as the states are concerned and if you've never been to korea or japan...this place would be the bomb! But if you've been to korea or japan, this place would be rated like a mediocre fast food chain. Those who haven't experienced the real deal have absolutely no clue! Any run of the mill joint in korea would taste better and cost around 17$ to be stuffed all you can eat style. If in japan, you'd probably pay around 36$ for an average all you can eat place that tastes great. High end beef places average about 80$ bucks per person for the best korean bbq of your life! The quality of meat stateside cannot even begin to even imagine to compare with that of asian beef. Use manna bbq as a small stepping stone to the real deal holly field world that's out there!

Good Korean BBQ

Very busy location. Enjoyable and decent quality food. Ordered the A2 menu. Staff regularly ready to take next order do food always available.

Our server made the experience amazing!!!

By Tinetina77 |

My sisters and I came here for a birthday celebration! We really enjoyed our time here. First you definitely have to come early around 5 is a good time because it starts getting packed. Our server Kay or Kate i believe was her name made our experience a great one. She was just such a great help with preparing our food and getting us our items we requested in a timely manner. She was amazing! The food is great! You get so many sides with the AYCE option. Definitely the potatoes and the noodles were so delicious. You can choose from 2 AYCE. One with just meat and the other with meat and seafood. We did the meat and seafood and it was definitely plenty we only ate shrimp from the seafood options only because we weren't familiar how to cook the other seafood but it comes with squid and octopus its quit an impressive option! The meat had rib eye i believe and a specific Korean bbq meat. So yummy! You cook your own stuff just in case I didn't throw that in there. I definitely will come back here such a fun time. And they play a birthday song and bring out brownies with a candle for birthdays :) so cute!

A unique dining experience

By Jeremy C |

My wife and I were looking for something different than what we normally do when dining out - and while Korean BBQ may be a common choice for some, it was definitely something new for us. We enjoyed getting to sample so many different items and grilling them ourselves. Would have preferred charcoal grills, but overall, a nice venue.

Really good BBQ

By Ben Midas |

Great experience top tier food, and I get a free ice cream for making this review :) It’s a little bit pricey, but it’s all you can eat and the beef is excellent. I highly recommend the jumooluk. I had no idea what that was but it was delicious! As you can see from the picture...we loved it all.

Delicious

Best tofu stew I’ve ever had. Damn good Bulgogi amazing. Pork galbi very tasty. I’ve never had steamed egg before but I’m hooked now

Good korean Food

By Tony W |

Food was really good with several all you can eat options. Staff was attentive and changed out hibachi grill frequently to allow a clean surface for cooking. Get there early or be prepared to wait a long time.

A MUST TRY

By Andreas Bayu |

We came to Manna Heaven Korean BBQ for a family dinner and had an AMAZING experience! Everything was incredibly delicious; from the quality of the meats to the banchan, every single item was flavorful and well prepared. The atmosphere was fun and welcoming, perfect for a family meal, and the service was outstanding; attentive, friendly, and always checking in on us. You can really feel the care they put into both the food and the guest experience. We left completely satisfied and already planning our next visit. This place is a must-try. VERDICT: WE WILL BE BACK 🙂

Sarah's Birthday, Jenn's Baby Shower

By Walter D |

Dinner with the extended family. 3rd time at Manna. Get ready for something different. You have 2 hours to eat all you want. 2 basic choices, menu A1, menu A2. Everyone at the table must agree to the selected menu. You tell them what meat(s) you want, they bring it out & you cook it up on the grill at your table. (Beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, octopus, .....) Get done with one, they bring out more, you keep cooking & eating. Lots of fun. On the table is salad and all sorts of Korean side dishes. A little pricey. $22.95 or $ 27.95 per person. However, if you walk away hungry, it's your own fault!

Excellent Korean BBQ

By iluv2eatntravel |

Manna Korean BBQ in Convoy is my family’s ‘go to’ Korean BBQ restaurant for years. Since they first opened back in 2011 there has been so many new other Korean BBQ restaurants and we tried many of these but nothing matches Manna’s quality of meat and choices. Best bang for the buck for ‘all you can eat’ Korean BBQ. We really appreciate Manna’s non marinated meat choices as well as the marinated ones. This location is also one of the most popular Korean BBQ restaurants in San Diego therefore the long lines especially during weekends and evenings. Recommend that you go early.

Soooo good!

We love to try new Korean restaurants when we come to Southern CA, and my husband saw that this had great reviews. Grateful we made reservations for our party of 10. We only had to wait a few minutes with many others standing waiting. First time I've had all the side dishes waiting when we sat down. So worth the $!!!

My favorite!!!

Yammy Korean AYCE BBQ

By Yun Jung M |

This is best Korean AYCE in town. Very fresh meat and quick and nice service. Definitely recommend it.

Meat selection was good

Loved the brisket and beef tongue. All you can eat but the servers bring which meat you want to eat. Other Korean BBQ places allows you get your food buffet style but all you have to do here is ask your server. Make sure you can eat what you order though because they can charge you for food wasted

All you can eat Kam BBQ

Mana is probably the most popular so you can eat Korean BBQ restraint in San Diego. There is always a line there so be prepared to wait. Food is decent. Be prepared to smell like Korean BBQ afterwards

all you can eat but won't go back

ok...i am a Korean so maybe I am being too strict but to be honest the food is not too great. service was mediocre. however, I would not complain about the value considering the price. other tables seemed to be enjoying the dinner.

Not a big Korean BBQ fan, but the staff made this an enjoyable experience

I don't particularly enjoy Korean BBQ. The staff was very courteous and cheerful. Very responsive, even as the main dinner time crowd filled up the restaurant. The waiters were very attentive that one end of the table was gobbling done one cut, while the other end slowed down to let the food settle.

Try It!

Initially I had a tough time deciding btwn 3 or 4 stars. I go back to S. Korea at least once a year to see the in-laws I am somewhat spoiled on Korean BBQ. There are three different all-u-can eat menu prices here. Obviously with each level the quality should increase. We chose the middle one. I thought the beef dishes had a little more fat than expected or use to. However when you take in account the unlimited amount you can eat and cost comparison to S.K. I re-evaluated my expectation and thought it is a really good price. The waitresses were good, the guys that replaced the grills were outstanding. Always asking to replace them to cook on a fresh grill. On the side dishes, the kimchee was a little weak and bland, bean paste a little salty, the seaweed with sesame oil was good, pickled veggies was good, I am use to salt mixed with sesame oil vice just salt as a dipping sauce. We went early 5pm to avoid the crowds. Use to vents being over each grill, so not sure when this is crowed how smoky it might get. Overall I would recommend this place and will return to update my review positively or negatively. Ciao.

Yummy Korean food

This restaurant caters to the persons with large appetite. The menu is all you can eat, but the waiters will bring out your meat selection, and you can only order 3 types at a time to prevent waste. The quality of the meats are fresh and delicious. The Side dishes (ban Chan) are equally good and filling. The price for the meal is fairly priced and overall experience good.

Lots of good food with mediocre service.

First time dining at Manna and had a good experience. It’s not fancy by any means but you leave stuffed full of food if you do it right. We met at 5pm on a weeknight for dinner so we were seated immediately but there was definitely a wait by the time we finished. TIP: Go early to avoid the wait. Plenty of parking but the spaces are somewhat tight. The service was a bit haphazard. We had to remind the wait staff on a few occasions about the sides, additional drinks and sauces. The favorite dish of our night was the beef bulgogi. There was one meat we just couldn’t eat because it was all fat even after having cooked it and didn’t have a good marinade so we felt a little wasteful about that. Also, please note that shrimp comes unpeeled so if you’re lazy like me you won’t enjoy that. It’s definitely worth it to go for the premium all u can eat for the price if you like steak. Overall, tasty food at a reasonable price and average service.

Outstanding!

Having grown up eating Korean BBQ prepared by a woman from Korea, then not eating it for over 20 yrs (they are few and far between in AZ), I forgot how much I LOVE it...Manna was a wonderful reminder of how delicious Korean BBQ is. Manna will be included in any future trips to SD!

Great novelty experience. Cook your own food that you order. Unlimited for 2 hours. Great fun and entertainment if you don't mind cooking your own food.

Different type of meal where you cook at your table. You can order what you want. Food was ok. Service not the best.
