By Thetravelingq |

Oh so full!!

By Kat F |

This restaurant was great! A group of friends and myself not used to american portions, ordered way to much food and stuffed ourselves. Both my starter and main were very tasty, huge portions and lots of flavour. Frozen cocktails tasted great and the quantities of alcohol were very generous. Also the staff were friendly and attentive.

Good food and drinks

By KSUfan1 |

Worth the a visit for 'uptown tex-mex'. Good food and service and reasonably priced. Overall positive experience.

Awesome service

By belleray |

Had dinner with 4 friends (from Ireland). Received great service, very generous alcohol portions in the lovely cocktails. Lovely food, huge portions, maybe try getting just mains and then decide if you need extra sides. And they kept refilling our complementary chips with dip :)

Tableside Guacamole...YUMMY

By TravelinQueen |

We love to stop by Manny's for the tableside guacamole as we arrive in Dallas. It is full of tomatoes, cilantro, and lime flavor and is absolutely delicious. One large serving makes a nice lunch for two of us.

Authentic, cafe style ambience. Good honesy Texmex food.

By Paul K |

Loved it... This is a no frills but bustling restaurant which delivers authentic Tex Mex fare at a price that is really reasonable. The Margheritas were excellent!

Good Place

By Mike K |

Came in for conference and after a few places we found Manny’s. This was nice place, good food and atmosphere. I would return!

Excellent!

By Randy W |

I had the chicken fajitas and my friends had the tacos. All of our food was outstanding and the service was attentive and friendly. I will definitely go back to Manny's Uptown.

Awesome

By Tubakiwi286 |

I really enjoy visiting Manny's. It's probably my favorite Tex-Mex. The food is awesome, the service is good, the atmosphere is enjoyable, and the value is pretty good, depending on what you order. The fajitas make an awesome meal, and be sure to try their guacamole and queso.

Impressive, most impressive...

By Eric Escamilla |

Everybody speaks of being taco fans and loving Mexican food at my work; however, I have yet to find a place that reminds me of/meets the bar set by the restaurants in the South Texas area (I'm from Corpus Christi, TX). The search was over once I encountered this place. Reasonable prices and extremely good food. The environment, just as attractive. I highly recommend this place to visitors or Dallas citizens looking for a new place to go.

Order the brisket tacos

By Sandra Z |

I am sure Manny's has very fine Mexican food in general, but I went there because I heard the brisket tacos were the bomb. They are. Tender brisket served with charred chiles and a meat sauce that amounts to heaven in a tortilla. No kidding - these are really good. I can't seem to manage to order anything else on the menu. Go - you won't be sorry.

Great meal, great time. Will be back

By Casey-Marty S |

Our group of about 20 came back to Manny's during TX/ou weekend and had another great dinner. If you are lucky enough to get a chillie relleno, ENJOY... The fajitas are always great and the margarita's are even better. Our waiter Jesus was johnny on the spot with drinks for our group and took care of all our needs.

Not bad but not cheap

By Mikeyveck |

Good Tex-Mex can be found so many places in DFW, there is never a good reason to overpay for it. Service was very good. Location is central. Facility and grounds are nice.

Fav Place!!!

By Lei510 |

Love this spot! Fun every time we go, great atmosphere, great service, great food, and the best margarita swirls ever!!!

One of my favs!

By Tradewinns |

We love Manny's! The food is always great, the service is quick and attentive and the atmosphere is lively and fun. In warmer months the outdoor patio is great. My personal favorite is the cowboy tacos - marinated grilled chicken served diced in soft corn tortillas with toppings to add yourself including avacado, onion, cilantro, tomato, lettuce and a smoky salsa. The side of rice is a traditional Mexican rice, not that red goopy stuff you see other places. On weekends the wait can be very long, so if you can get there early it will be much faster.

Need better hotsauce and chips

By Richard R |

The Campbell location is close to our house. Love the small patio. The chips are just ok, not as thin as I like. The hot sauce is to hot for my wife and really for me to. Has to ask for ranchero sauce that we mixed with the hot sauce to make it usable. Fajitas are great but no cheese, its extra. Love the combo appetizer its more than enough for two. Beer is cold

Great Food, Lousy Service

By lindilou |

Manny's food is consistently good. Two friends and I went there for lunch. The staff that greeted us was very friendly. However, our waiter, Guerrmo, was not very attentive. I ordered a margarita. He asked if I wanted to try the mango strawberry margarita. I tried it. It was fruity and good, but I did not taste any alcohol. He brought two bowls of chips and three separate bowls of salsa. I was really impressed because we didn't have to worry about anyone double dipping. I ate most of the chips and all of my salsa before my food arrived. When our food arrived I asked for more chips and salsa. Our waiter pointed to the chips and salsa that my friends had not eaten. He said, "you already got chips and salsa." I have eaten at a whole lot of Mexican restaurants, and I have never been insulted like that. We were shocked. Our waiter disappeared for a long time. Another employee was in our area and I asked him for more chips and salsa. He told me the same thing, "You already got chips and salsa." He walked away. I don't know if they are rationing or if there is some kind of limit. I would have gladly paid for more, especially since the salsa was so tasty. Our waiter finally reappeared with chips and salsa, and our checks. He was not engaging and did not ask if we needed anything else. My friend, Jamey, asked to see the dessert menu. We decided that we would not order dessert since the service was so bad. We said we could spend our money where we are appreciated. The food was very good. Jamey had no complaints about his tacos. My brisket tacos (served with soft tortillas), were delicious. The brisket was seasoned perfectly and it was very tender. My order came with rice and beans and guacamole salad. All were very, very good. Laverne enjoyed her chimchanga meal. Food was great. Service was so bad that we have decided never to eat at Manny's again.

Great Food :)

By Ashley |

I had a great experience here. It was my first time in Dallas and it was recommended that we should go there. The food was tasty and the service was very friendly. It is worth going and trying it.

Great enchiladas

By SeaDBoat |

I've been living on the east coast for quite some time and have really missed TexMex food. I ordered a enchilada trio plate that was really good. I'll be back!

Best Brisket Tacos

By Donna H |

Manny's has the absolute best brisket tacos I've had. Love the side bowl of mom's brown gravy to pour over it. We love Manny's!

Great Patio Dining!

By TXMARTINS |

With a huge backdoor patio and some tables on the front this is a great place that seems to have reasonable wait times every time we go in the heart of Uptown. They have multiple areas for large groups that are available. Fresh chips & salsa abound with good guacamole and queso available. Tip: They have Mambo Taxi's!

Mimosas!!

By JanelleKinney |

There was 2 Of us looking for a quick drink. We didn't really know what to expect. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and shown the bar. Which is as soon as you walk in. We had a really good bartender by the name of Joe. Super friendly. It was our first visit but not our last. Mimosas on happy hour are $3!!

Relaxing atmosphere

By 4familyfun7-18 |

Chicken enchiladas were wonderful and service was friendly. Relaxing atmosphere. Clean and quick. It was like eating at home. Great location.

DELICIOUS

By tlagyn |

You can always count on good Tex-Mex in Dallas and this place did not disappoint. It was right across the road from the hotel where I was staying and there was outside dining so I thought I'd give it a try. You should, too. Comfortable but not fancy atmosphere, quick and pleasant service. Pretty predictable (in a good way) menu.

Nice place!

By bauercat |

Went here recently and loved the appetizer...queso with chili and guacamole. It was definitely not heart healthy...but worth it. Great salsa and chips as well.

Great tex-mex and very good salsa

By Pam V |

The waiter was superb and memorized our order!!! This does not happen very often. The food was good and the salsa was so good and hot!! The meal was fresh and hot and quick for a busy lunchtime meal. The lunch prices were about $7 per plate and plenty of food for lunch!!

Good tex-mex

By tristof_Liege |

Went there for brunch on a Sunday morning with the whole family. We were seated on the patio, which was very pleasant and nice for the kids to play (they really enjoyed the fountain ;-)). Food was good (I had the breakfast burritos, topped with sunny-side-up eggs). Their frozen margarita was also very good. They offer complementary valet parking.

It's so GOOD !

By skaalhavn |

This was walk-able from where we were staying and it was a casual fun night out with the girls....very good food and reasonable too. Great menu and the tamale and guac were standouts... Wish it was in my neck of the woods!

Great Tex-Mex

By Charles B |

Great location, valet parking, just outstanding food and reasonably priced. Good service.

Okay Brunch

By Karen W |

Was looking forward to a hearty brunch since I hadn't eaten all day and our reservation was 11am. The menu is limited and strange. My kids loved it. However, they forgot the English muffins in my one daughters quasi eggs Benedict steak dish (the muffin was if the other daughter's), no butter on my toast, and no toast at all with my husband's egg dish. It wasn't busy when we first got there. They should have been able to serve us properly.

Awesome...

By 123bag |

Eating in Mexico and California in my life time and loving the cuisine. Manny's in Dallas has everything right right down to some of the best service. Food is on the spicy side but that I enjoyed even more! I will be telling everyone about Manny's a Dallas must stop...

Fun Place to Lunch

By bahutch |

Went there to enjoy a nice warm winter day in big D! Sat on the patio with a bunch from work, and enjoyed the view and the weather. The food was good as usual, and the service and atmosphere are great. It is very loud but the patio is a bit better for talking, still n problem hearing each other at our table. Great salsa and chips, Tex -Mex favs, and good tea, not to bad on price for lunch uptown. Overall a great time!

2nd Location as good as the first

By Ed T |

Discovered Manny's Utptown years ago, but drive distance kept me away. Now they have expanded into Richardson (Coit & W.Campbell) and we go there at least once a week. They are part of the "M" group, so rest assured there is quality control on each meal. They have the traditional TexMex but it is a bit different from Mico's, the Manny Taxi is the same as the Mambo Taxi and on Wednesday it is 1/2 price!! And to top it off the patio faces the east and is nice to sit in even on 90 degree days.

Decent but salty food

By AVGTXN |

Review is for new Mockingbird/Abrams location. Friday night. I had heard Manny's was just OK, so we never made the trip to the Uptown location. The Mockingbird location's food is just OK. My companion and I both thought the chips tasted slightly stale. The brisket tacos were salty and greasy, and the server forgot I said bean soup so I got refried beans. My companion's tortilla soup was good. A side of tortillas are extra. Service was generally attentive. Seating is tight. While we wish Manny's the best, we won't be back. There are too many better places in Dallas, like Meso Maya just across the street.

Fun place! Great food, great staff!

By Richard B |

Very much above average / borderline great Tex-Mex food in downtown Dallas. Fun place, but loud! Well priced, and not over the top portions. We went with a work group of 8 after a hard days. It was just great. Very good food; and just a pleasant experience. It is a little loud, for sure, but the fun and food make up for it.

Margarita heaven

By melb1965 |

Mannys has not only delish food the margaritas are yum yum yummy ! It’s the perfect place for a outside meal on the patio !

Excellent location

By Pippo3000 |

Found Manny‘s around the corner of our Canopy Hilton Hotel and enjoyed great Mexican food with tasty Frozen Margaritas and best Guacamole so far. Friendly staff. Nice outside pool deck. Came here twice during our stay in Dallas, better than Taco Diner near the Magnolia.

Not impressed

By Kyla K |

I live in Dallas and have been to Manny's a handful of times over the past few years. My husband loves it so though te food has never been my favorite, we decided to give it another try tonight. Unfortunately, I was still unimpressed with the food. While the service and the atmosphere are good, I find the food to be over overly salted, processed and lacking in natural flavor. Specifically, I ordered spinach enchiladas that were too salty to eat and a margarita that was too sweet to drink. The waiter was very accommodating and offered to let me order something else but after a few bad meals, I wasn't interested. I do have to mention that my husband was very pleased with the cowboy tacos and didn't mind drinking my margarita :) For a traveler, this place is has a good vibe and will give you a fine into to tex mex. For those who have other favorites, I'd recommend avoiding this one.

Original tex-mex, big portions and so reasonable

By mary n |

Had one of the lunch specials - beef taco, 2 enchiladas, with beans and rice on the side ($7) Started with homemade chips and spicey salsa. Added diet cokes and the bill for the 2 of us at lunch was $21 before tip. GREAT Tex Mex, also great price. Near enough to the Ritz that they will give you a ride over in the hotel's Rolls ! Manny's will call you a taxi if the Ritz can't pick you up.

Great food

By djwhatley |

This is a fun restaurant; friendly staff; great food; good location. What more do you need? Guacamole was great.

Good food and friendly service

By travelbug |

I had the jaliscos dinner which included several Tex mex favorites. My husband really liked the brisket tacos. Cute little restaurant in the middle of Dallas.

IF A NEUTRON BOMB WIPES OUT DALLAS - THEN GO HERE.

By ozbu |

This was the worst Mexican food I ever had. And I've had tons. It's a cute little house on the outskirts of uptown Dallas. Like turning back time to a country kitchen. For a year I've seen this restaurant and wanted to try it. Curious. It was my lunch and I wanted to get in and out inside an hour with a margarita and good Mexican food. Off the lunch menu I ordered a taco, enchilada, rice and beans. When the plate came it looked it was hatched out of a frozen dinner you buy at the grocers. The margarita was stuffed with ice so it tasted like . . . like water. The waiter who already started a "bro" attitude refused to take back the drink. The chips were cold and tasteless. Service. Food. Drinks were terrible. I quickly ate what I could. Drank the tequila water. Paid the bill and left. On the way out I told the hostess how horrible the meal was. She could care less. The place is surrounded by great uptown eateries. They obviously bank on location and not giving great service and food. If there's a neutron bomb dropped on Dallas leaving nowhere else to eat except Manny's - then I would say "eat there". Otherwise just keep driving down McKinney and anywhere you pick will be better. Sad. It cost me 14 bucks. Reading this review will save you more.

nice

By b w |

, very good food with a Mexican twist. I enjoyed my visit to this place for the first time, I would go again

Good Food

By nikkijersey |

We went here as a large group recently. The service and food were both very good. I had a beef brisket chimichanga (sp?). It was very good. The amount of food you get is very good. I did not hear anyone have a bad word to say about their dinner.

Excellent atmosphere, great food, limited parking

By Newlywed952010 |

This restaurant is a little gem. It feels like multiple distinct houses or rooms have been put together to make a very unique experience. There's also outdoor seating if that's what you're looking for. The servers are nice and relatively attentive. The food was great, but the salsa definitely had a kick to it. There isn't much parking in their lot. They sometimes have a valet stand which says it's free to customers, but it looks like they start parking in the same lot once the valet stand opens.

Brisket anything!

By Matt Blum |

Comfortable spot that's popular, but there's always room without being loud. Food-wise, brisket anything is good. Tacos, queso, or nachos. Other than that, it's straight forward. Drinks are cold. Food is hot.

Great food, great deal

By gibbogirl5 |

Manny's has a wide selection and prices are perfect -- not too cheap where you're not sure where the meat came from, and not too pricey where you're not sure if it's worth paying for. Run by a family, this is their second restaurant (the first being Gloria's, also delicious) and is in a quaint house. Great tamales, but really, you can't go wrong with anything...it's ALL good.

Friendly and Personal

By Discover164904 |

Great waiter!!! Great food!!! Friendly all around!! Fajitas is what we ordered. Good! Atmosphere is also cute. Nice patio.

Great quality Mexico food and experience

By alingerfelt |

Awesome chicken mole enchiladas! Cadillac Margarita was wonderful. Grilled Shrimp Salad was well presented. (Should have taken a pic!)

Friendly, food average

By Marc Angela S |

Staff was super accommodating and friendly. Local place with medium pricing. Only spicy salsa, margarita weak, food typical Mexican nothing special. Brisket tacos good, veggie enchiladas has meat sauce.

Mexican food that always pleases

By Collene G |

Located between two major one way streets, Manny's is not the easiest place to find, but it's worth the extra effort. The food is very good and there are many choices. The salsa and chips are great. Service is prompt and friendly. Prices are reasonable. The atmosphere is lively. It's good for larger groups, five couples as an example (I'm not referring to 300 at a reception). Also, there are tables for two. It's casual and priced very well. The weakness is the location & parking (valet).

Visit for the first time

By Jim R |

Food was above average and drinks were good. Plan to revisit in the future. Parking can be an issue.

Repeat solo visitor, Excellent

By b0bbylynn |

Didn't have the exact combo I wanted on the menu, so I told them the combination I wanted and no problem brought out my exact order .Every thing was good, loved the hot sauce. Also got 1/2 order nacho's; so big it would have been lunch. Some of the best bean and cheese nachos with large chips almost like tostados. Never fails for great Tex Mex; remind me of the old Mexican joints from the 80's in the old house. Great setting for Tex Mex!

Best Tex-Mex yet!

By CanuckEventPlanner |

Four of us tripped over "Manny's" tonight by chance & loved it. Although it was busy, we were seated quickly. We found the food to be hot, fresh and delicious. The waiter was great - very busy but we always felt he was taking good care of us. My husband had the rib-eye fajitas and our friends had the combo-fajitas and we all agreed it was the best Tex-Mex we'd had in Dallas. We'll certainly return!

Mandy's at Lakewood location should be avoided

By AmyCatherineReidling |

Service was horrible. Took 15 minutes for him to take our order and then he tried it giving it to the table behind us. Our waiter could barely speak English. Food was horrible. Beans had no flavor, tortillas were cold, chips were stale. We will not be going back.

Wonderful Tex-Mex!!

By jajenkins4 |

Some friends told us about this wonderful Tex-Mex restaurant. It has quickly become one of our new favorites. We look forward to eating here many more times.

Greatly disappointed

By Mixed-Up Burger... M |

I don't normally complain and do a bad review but when deemed necessary, here you go. I have been anxiously waiting to try this out and sad to report I will not be coming back. It's actually Cinco de Mayo and they're sorta busy, but not really. Service took forever to be greeted and never got any better. Food was average at best and not "hot" temp wise. Was hoping for a better outcome. Food - 2.5 Service - 1.5 Atmosphere - 3

Average food and service

By victoria_adams |

Another local restaurant but we felt with so many great Tex Mex places about this fell a bit short on both the quality of the food and the service

Great place for a holiday client lunch

By LF W |

I hosted a client lunch for 20 people here last week and all was perfect. There was no waiting when I arrived and we were seated immediately. The food was delicious and our server was attentive and responsive. Thank You Manny's for helping me to look good!

Great Mexican food. Cute atmosphere

By Gloria Jean B |

i liked the amount, quality and presentation of the food. The waiter was not real fluent in English but we communicated our needs and he followed through

Problems with valet

By Cindy S |

We met friends at Manny's last night for dinner. The food was good and the service was good; however, when we tried to leave the mandatory valet could not locate our keys. My husband and I went back inside because it was 19 degrees outside. The valet crew frantically looked for our lost keys while the manager and his staff (inside the warm restaurant) did nothing. After an hour and a half, the manager came over and explained that the valet crew was doing everything possible to resolve the situation. I told him that after sitting there all that time, it would have been a courteous gesture to offer us a drink or something. At that point, he offered, all the while explaining that the restaurant business was separate than the valet business. But we were not given a choice to park our car or use the valet so I would assume the restaurant mandates this practice. Our keys were finally found after two hours and when we walked out, the manager never offered a gift certicate for a return visit or anything. Why would I return there? NOT!

Tex Mex with a great out door patio

By 814jamesu |

Good Tex Mex. Great party space in the "back bar" that has an adjoining covered outdoor patio. Perfect for parties. Poor parking. Chicken tortilla soup was the best I have ever had.

Authentic tex mex

By maithri k |

This is a place for you for tex mex in Dallas if you want a homely feel. Colorful, fresh chips and salsa. Frozen margaritas are a must try. Anything you choose is good. Lots of veggie options too. Has outdoor seating too. If you are confused and want to try different entrees, you have options for that too. You will have leftovers for sure, and they are good too for the next day.The waiter gave us extra chips for the leftover can queso we carried home. Can get crowded during weekends.

Brisket Taco

By pizz2005 |

We go there on each visit..cold beer and the best brisket tacos you will ever eat...Love em!!!

I went to the Addison location (14905 Midway Rd)

By Liz H |

I love Tex-Mex, I am a total addict and some of my favorite foods are tamales. The food at this place were average, the salsa was good, but the guacamole was disappointing. You get decent amount of food for your money, but if you are looking for great tamales I would not go to Manny's. The staff on the other hand is very helpful.

Consistent and really good

By CATravelogger |

This is genuine TexMex with a great family history. We walked in at 9:15 on a weeknight expecting very little from a place that closes at 10 pm and still got excellent service, some amazing enchiladas and some of the best chicken mole we've ever had. The service is really attentive and the staff seem happy to be there. And the prices are very reasonable. Plus they have valet parking, which is important in this crowded area around Lemmon Ave. I'd be a regular if I lived in Dallas.

Great brisket tacos!

By MPrize10 |

Brisket tacos were delicious! Enchiladas were good, but not exceptional. The "mambo taxi" cocktail is a must when you visit Manny's!

Great Tex-Mex :)

By John W |

Great little neighborhood Tex-Mex restaurant. Friendly service, good food, and reasonable prices. The cowboy tacos have always been my favorite, but any of the traditional dishes (especially the pork tamales) are very tasty.

Not bad, not great

By nr298401 |

This place is decent for a bite of tex-mex, and there is plenty of patio space. The food itself is so-so. I had the Shrimp Nuestra, and the shrimp were VERY good. They were huge! And the veggies were not bad at all. I just thought it lacked some flavor. We also had the Uptown Queso, and it just seemed like something you could easily make at home. As I travel weekly for work, I've gotten pickier in general, so perhaps I'm just being too particular. But I've had better tex-mex. And I've had worse. I will say that I appreciated the service. The valet guy and our server were very friendly and attentive.

Meeting Future In-Laws

By Nancy J |

Was in town with my husband so he could meet his future son-in-laws family. Met them at Manny's and the restaurant was great. The food was very good, and the wait staff were excellent, they didn't rush us so we could sit and talk and not feel like cattle being herded in and out. Had their margarita on ice and it was very good. I would highly recommend this restaurant for dinner.

Yum

By Tvl_frequently |

Great service, food hit the spot for everyone at the table, house margarita not too sweet, and churro was the perfect ending to the meal

Ok Mexican food

By orlandofoodlover18 |

I'm not a fan of restaurant's that only offer valet parking, especially on weekdays. The chips and salsa were good, but the shrimp enchiladas were very bland and average. The bean soup was good however. The Cowboy Tacos were very small for the price. Better Mexican options in Dallas.

Fine...

By nmkev |

I wanted Mannys to be as good as it used to be. But it is not This is my second visit this year (I didn't review last visit because it was not good and I wanted to give them benefit of the doubt) and this visit was just as "fine" as last visit. I ordered tacos al carbon....they didnt ask how I wanted my steak cooked and lo and behold it was a little overdone - very tasteless and a little gristly. The rice was a little dry and tasteless as well; much better after you mix beans in with it though. The salsa, OUTSTANDING; the guacamole, OUTSTANDING; the service, VERY GOOD, the chips, VERY WARM andFRESH. I don't think I will go back unless just to sit on patio and have chips and salsa, appetizers and drinks.

Favorite Mexican Restaurant in Dallas!

By UofTXChick |

It took me years to find a Mexican restaurant that I loved as much as my favorite in Houston! Manny's is it! I judge Mexican food restaurants on cheese enchiladas, and theirs are the best! Get the Sunset Sauce (queso with green chiles and cilantro). I'm craving the food now! Go early so parking isn't a problem!

Decent food but no longer dog friendly

By Alton J |

Decent food as usual but no longer allow dogs due to customer complaints. Front desk folks also do not understand service dog requirements or definitions. Heath location

So consistent!

By Christine S |

I love my tex Mex. I miss it when I'm gone. I love that no matter when I come here...no matter the season, the time of day - they are always on their game. My favorite enchilada in the metroplex and their jalapeño skinny margs don't suck either. And the service? Always spot on.

Love the chips and salsa, hate everything else.

By Joselyncas |

Let me just start by saying that our waiter was very rude! A group of friends and I were looking for something fun to do on a Saturday night and we decided to go eat at this place. Never again. The only service I enjoyed was the guys bringing us chips and salsa. They were nice and friendly. I can't remember the name of our waiter, but he was not friendly. Worst of all, when I ordered a chicken burrito, they gave me a TUNA burrito instead of chicken. And our waiter didn't say anything. The atmosphere of this place is great but the service is horrible! I don't recommend it all. The food is horrible, tasteless, and not the authentic tex-mex flavor you're looking for. I couldn't believe I wasted money on that place. I would've rather gone to Chipotle.

Regular Tex-Mex

By Tom W. |

Wife and I went for an early dinner on a Sunday afternoon. The place was almost empty and when first seated in the main dining area we were chilly, so we moved to the covered patio, which was much better. We each had a Margarita on the rocks, which were very blah. The one bright spot was my wife's order, she loves Chili Rellanos which were not on the menu. Our server said he would check with the kitchen and, yea!, they could make them. Her meal was good and mine, the Manny's Special Combo, was good, average Tex-Mex. If you are in the area this is a perfectly acceptable place for Tex-Mex, but not worth going out of your way with so many other good Tex-Mex places all over the Metroplex.

Celebrated my Birthday here!!!

By Lei510 |

I love Manny's Uptown. It is one of my absolute favs. Great food, great service, great margaritas and swirls.

The Original Mi Cocina

By Morgen H |

If you like Mi Cocina, you will LOVE Manny's! Awesome Tex-Mex! Popular place, though, so be prepared to wait if you go during peak times.

Great tacos and margaritas

By Stacy O |

Atmosphere very inviting, not too loud, and great service Skinny margaritas very good, salsa is off the charts delicious

Excellent Food and Service

By njeske |

Our experiences at Manny's have all been great! Their food is amazing (especially the brisket tacos!), and the service is friendly and attentive. They had no issues accommodating the special dietary needs of our son, which isn't something I can say about every place we try to go. If you're in Dallas, and want good Mexican food, this is the place to go!

fun tex mex

By Ashley R |

When I lived in Uptown, I loved going to Manny's. It's a very casual Tex Mex restaurant with so many different meals to choose from. Great for groups and great for a few people equally. The food was delicious and consistent each time. The portions a good sized, just enough to get you full (if you aren't already full from the chips and salsa!)

Staff is overwhelmed - everything rushed - where is the love?

By 4TheDonn |

We were visiting Dallas and so excited to have some really good Tex-Mex food and everyone said that Manny's Uptown was one of the best to go to. It was St. Patrick's Day so we figured we'd have a better shot of food/service avoiding the typical St. Patrick's Day mania that Dallas can have. The old retrofitted home with porch was charming - we got in right away but they were busy. We had a table in back area directly under the air conditioner vent - it was freezing but that is another story. Shortly after arriving we ordered two top shelf margaritas with salt. They were great. We ordered from the menu asking for an order of guacamole to enjoy with the chips prior to the meal. There was clear confusion on the floor as multiple people came to our table. The food came out almost instantaneously - and you guessed it - no guacamole! But since there was a small serving as a side to one of the dishes we told the waiter - cancel the order of guac. We ordered a second round of margaritas - again with salt - they arrived a bit later, by now a third person and this time no salt. We just shrugged. As we were wrapping up the meal guess what shows up at the table - our appetizer of guacamole! It must have taken the Dallas tour to get here. We sent it back. Now here is the part that is troubling. This is a nice looking restaurant. The food okay but not the best I have had in Dallas before - It was clear the food was being jammed out of an over worked kitchen as quickly as they could - when that happens, you can taste the lack of love. It was also clear they wanted their table back for who ever was next in line. The entire experience from entry to exit, including two drinks was less than an hour. I'm sorry Manny - food should be enjoyed and not force fed and as for your staff, either hire more or train them better. Every single member of the team looked frazzled. Dallas has far too many really quality Tex-Mex choices to put your patrons through this. When we return to Dallas - Manny's will not be on the list.

Best Mexican in Uptown!

By Christine S |

I love this little house-turned-restaurant. Their tex mex is exactly what tex mex ought to be - fresh, flavorful and delicious. Their margaritas are perfect! Not too sweet. Not too tart. Enough alcohol to feel it but not so much it ruins the flavor. Friendly, fast service. Feels like I've just ordered and the food is showing up! Love the patio best, but it's great inside, too, if weather doesn't permit.

The shredded chicken tasted a bit like tuna. But the quesadillas were good. Service was good too. But the food could have tasted better.

Try the spicy guacamole!

By SBR |

First visit in a group-service was profession, entertaining, and patient. Typical Tex-Mex but with some standouts: spicy guacamole was a cut above the usual and the shrimp tacos. The waiter recommended trying both corn and flour tortillas with the tacos-I still don't know which I prefer so guess I'll have to come back! Valet parking is available (and needed on the weekends); only two single-stall bathrooms...

Great service and good Tex Mex

By Cheryl D |

We came here because the Rustic was so busy tonight, and this was another option in the area. Three couples plus our local friend enjoyed our dinners here. Chips were good, especially with the guacamole. They served salsa to each of us (I chose to just eat the guacamole). I ordered the shrimp dish served with their house sautéed vegetables and rice-delicious! Others ordered enchiladas or tacos, and everyone liked their dishes. Prices of the margaritas were not listed, but I learned that the “skinny margaritas” were $12 each. They were quite good, but one might have been good, too. We were not rushed, so this was a good evening of visiting with our friends.

Awesome place!

Great Tex-Mex

If you're in the Uptown Dallas area and you face the option of Mi Cocina and Manny's there's only one real choice to make. Best Tex Mex in town!

Delicious

We had a HUGE party of about 30 people.... the 2 waiters were great... handled things beautifully. The patio was charming. Food delicious! We'll be back!

A Dallas Legend

Been coming to Manny's Uptown for years. This sets the standard for Tex Mex in Dallas. Excellent meal with Carne Asada, Steak Fajita and spinach enchiladas. Very sides. Salsa is great. Service a bit indifferent but you can deal with that. Thanked warmly by the owner

Fantastic food!!!

Typical Dallas Tex-Mex

By Dfwboi |

Another Dallas text-mex, with some great choices. Brisket nachos great idea executed well. Brisket taco not so much. Tamale good mixture of masa versus filling although the chili sauce way too heavy. Shrimp quesadilla too cheesy. Overall service & fare was average, Chips & salsa, again average expected of Dallas. Will return for brisket nachos & tamale.

Best Tex-Mex in Dallas

Good food- good prices. Margaritas are outstanding. Dallas is a very dog-friendly city, and so they are welcome on the front porch.

Fun place & great service

Manny's Uptown was a fun place. We went for dinner Saturday night. Our server was prompt and courteous. Drinks and food was good. Food was served steamy hot, which is how I like it. It was crazy busy but we weren't rushed at all. We had a party of 7. It's loud place so turn your hearing aides up. 🎉🎉🎉

Go for the Happy Hour

By Greg P |

This a good Tex-Mex restaurant. The food is what you'd expect and there are plenty of choices. The salsa isn't too spicy and the portions are generous when it comes to the main course. I had the Brisket Tacos which were very good-and suggested by the wait staff. Glad I took their advice instead of having my usual beef burrito. Also, I was impressed with the house margarita-you could actually tell it had some tequila in it. And it is a very good deal during their happy hour. All-in-all, I was pleased with the food and the drinks for the price paid-especially in this part of town. I would go back.

Not sure what all the fuss is about

By AngelMel |

Maybe I am jaded since my mom makes homemade Tex-Mex, but I am not sure why people rave about Manny's. I am sure the people reviewing and at the restaurant are nice, but the food is not good. Chips and queso are blah, and the migas were bland. The service I experienced at the Lakewood location was slow. Just overall, I would recommend many other restaurants to get a Tex-Mex fix than Manny's. Just my opinion!

True Tex-Mex

By hookedontrvl |

If you are looking for good Tex-Mex with generous portions of food then you will want to try Manny's. I have sampled many different things here and all were good. Fajitas, chile relleno, nachos (of every variety), quesadillas, etc. One of my favorite things about this place is the fact that they don't scrimp on the meat. If you order brisket nachos (which are really good), then you get plenty of brisket on the nacho. The same is true for the quesadillas and anything else I have eaten here. The service has always been good when we have gone and the atmostphere is typical Tex-Mex. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that the chips are a little thick (although I really like the salsa) and the price is tiny bit higher than some other Tex-Mex places in town. Of course, you have to consider you are getting more meat for your money, so it's still one of my favorite places to go when I am craving true Tex-Mex.

This is Tex Mex at its Best

Was seated quickly for lunch by a friendly host in a very clean establishment. Our waiter, Angel, arrived quickly with chips and fresh salsa and took our order. The food arrived fast, was hot and fresh. I had the number 10 which was a beef taco, shredded beef enchilada with mole sauce and a chicken enchilada with a cheese sauce. Came with hot rice. Food was fresh and tasty. Taco was large and filled with beef. Sauces were very tasty. Great price for the amount of food!

PreThanksgiving Dinner

By Sherry H |

With tomorrow being Thanksgiving, we wanted something different and fun before all the work of preparing, eating and cleaning up of the turkey feast. Enter Manny’s! Very good service, atmosphere, food and drinks. Wish it was warm enough to sit outside, it looked like a great patio, but I liked the indoor space, too!

Amazing food

This place is amazing it's worth all the money you spend here got our food quick and fast. Couldn't ask for anything better. Great servic e!!!!

Good food and good service

By Grace-filled Patriot |

Food was good, but not excellent. Servers ran around in a somewhat chaotic manner the whole time. They almost ran over a few patrons through the course of the evening. The flautas were good, but perhaps a little greasy. The patio was delightful.

Yum and they were cool about accommodating us and little children.

By CreveCoeurMo |

Took our nephew, wife and 3 kids here. The food was great and they weren't thrown by the baby wondering around after dinner. That said, it is a great place for adults. I can't wait to go back.

Excellent

Great atmosphere, friendly staff, amazing (and potent!) margaritas, delicious fajitas. The next time I'm in Dallas I will definitely go back!!

Really good

This is a mexican food restaurant with a different atmosphere you can be indoors or in the terrace. If youre in the terrace tou can see across the street a dog park full of dogs running. Personal really helpful and attentive. I really appreciate the valet guy he was at hes best open my gf door when we come out the car was ready.

Very good TexMex off 75 in uptown. Authentic specialties, large portions easily split. Recommend the fajitas and flan!

Excellent service, good atmosphere, food acceptable

By David M |

My company frequently has business dinners here because they have a very nice private room for free. It holds 10-12 people comfortably. The level of service is excellent, always there to get you something. This has been consistent in all visits. Good selection of Mexican beers, but none on tap. The only moderate downside is that the food, while perfectly acceptable, is not stellar. In Texas, in a place branded TexMex, you would expect more. Manny's you can do a bit better. Step up the food quality are you are 5 stars. Uptown location very convenient if you are downtown on business or barhopping. Another reason we like to go here is that it is very reasonably priced. Salsa is great, queso seems like canned. Dishes are attractively presented. We will keep going back because the pros outweigh the cons, but we all wish the food was better.

Good Uptown Mexican food

By Ron R |

Manny's delivered on the margaritas and the food portions we had were enough where we should have split one. Service was average but we had a large group and were in an out of the way area so understandable.
