Broasted Chicken

By WILLIAM K |

By far this bar has the BEST Broasted Chicken and Jo's in Seattle! The only complaint is they are not giving the portions/pieces they have in the past. The current basket has 1 wing, 1 thigh and 1 leg. In the past, you were always treated with a breast and 2 other lesser pieces. Has the price of chicken gone up? Regardless, their Broasted Chicken is a must before going to a game at the Clink or Safeco Field. Don't forget a cold beer or mixed drink. The daily specials are great.

Great chicken!!!

By jeffdD785WW |

We had the chicken special and fish and chips and Manny’s beer. And watched the Mariners losing effort on the TV. A very nice afternoon stop and found ourselves eating every morsel. Typical bar. Nothing special except for great food, relaxed setting and nice staff. Many complements to Matt the owner.

Great bar with great chicken!

By kwanjai206 |

My friend's husband said that this place has really good chicken so a bunch of us went down to this bar and had the chicken. I thought this place was actually a small little dive bar, but this place as actually really very busy! When I arrived on Friday evening the place was packed with people in suits and ties! Must be where all of the downtown people stop at to watch the game on their way home, the Husky game and the Mariners game was on. Anyways I arrive a little after my friends and they had ordered the chicken when they got there, we knew it would take a while, but it really took a long time. Maybe it was because they were so busy. When we finally got the chicken it was oh so yummy! The jojos are also very good. After we got the chicken we also ordered some gizzards and man if you like gizzards you should definitely order the gizzards. They were probably the best gizzards I've even had! After the games were over, the place pretty much cleared out and then the karaoke began! Fun watching people :) Overall great little bar with some really good food. This place was also on a list of top 10 places to get fried chicken in Seattle. If you're in the area and you like chicken, definitely stop in, the wait is worth it!

Take out for office lunch

By Clay P |

Stopped in and got lunch for 12 of us at work. They have a good menu but really the famous chicken they cook is what you want to stop for. Delicious we all said! And proof that as that nothing was left over we are it all! We had the jojo’s and mac salad and we should have ordered more mac salad. Also try there spicy fry sauce order it by the wheel barrel!

Damn good fried chicken

By Arthur K |

Having a few hours to kill before meeting up with some friends, I decided to make a stop by Marco Polo one Tuesday afternoon. After sitting at the bar, I browsed the menu and saw their world famous fried chicken. Being a huge fan of fried chicken, I decided to give it a try. By having already seen my star reading, you probably already know that I really enjoyed their fried chicken. It was fried perfectly with an amazing crispy skin and the cole slaw that I selected as my side had a great balance of sweet and creaminess. It reminded me of a KFC style slaw, but much fresher and crisper. I saw a sign that said on Mondays they have $.50 wings. I'll have to come back for that because if their fried chicken is this good, their wings have to be pretty damn good too.

The Best Chicken Ever!

By Kesha K |

This place came highly recommended during our visit here in Seattle. There are about ten televisions and two pool tables. The fried chicken was juicy and delicious.

Awesome chicken

By Craig M |

This is an interesting bar. If you are a Washington state Cougars fan, then this is the right place for you to watch the games. If you're a NASCAR fan, there is a stock car in the bar! The service is pretty good, they have a very good selection of beer and spirits but the best part is their pressure cooked fried chicken!! OMG their chicken is the best i've ever had and I know fried chicken. If you're in Seattle and like fried chicken you HAVE to stop in the Marco Polo. Be warned the chicken takes about 20 minutes to cook so grab a beverage and check out what sport are on the several TV monitors. Only negative is it's pretty small and could use some upgraded ambiance. They have karaoke too!

Great dive bar

I was in Seattle on a business trip and was looking to kill some time. A local friend suggested I meet him here. It was a great experience. Wide variety of good beer in a relaxed setting. A great jukebox blasted out the hits - until Karaoke (I was there on Friday. Don't know if this is all week or not). Had a blast!

Yummy Borasted Chicken & JoJo

By jtssea |

MMMMMMMM. Simple & yummy broasted chicken & jo-jo potatoes. Fresh not frozen chickens that they have butchered special for them. Clean oil and never greasy. Fresh potatoes and chilled nice condiments. The French fries are not great so get the jo-jo (potatoes slices). Likewise the slaw and mac salad are just ok. The fried mushrooms are yummy too as were the pickles. Nice bar pub food. Burgers nice too. ( skip the chili) They also make a nice strong simple cocktail and have pitchers of beer. I sometimes get cravings for this stuff. AN old Seattle lesser known institution. They have outdoor seating too.

Good Sunday Chicken

By B. Richard |

Tried all sorts of websites for advice on where to find good chicken on a Sunday. Ended up in this roadhouse - wife and I enjoyed their 3 piece plates. Big pieces, very meaty, good spices. Coleslaw flat, jo-joes fresh cut, beer and wine selection good. No atmosphere, revised dark gloomy atmosphere - staff very friendly. Would return.

Skip the chicken and the whole idea of going here

By parisryan |

Sorry Marco Polo but I have heard that your chicken is really good but when I stopped by to try it I wished I had chosen KFC. My 3 piece meal was mostly gristle fat and bone. I am not a huge eater so 3 pieces of fried chicken and Cole slaw should have had me stuffed but I left hungry. Where was the meat on them bones? The slaw had no flavor. One of our party had the Jo Jo's which were a soggy mess but may be slightly better then the freezer to oven fries. People must be pretty drunk to call this edible food. Not one of our party of 4 said they would return.

No minors

By Lauren B |

Please note that they don’t serve minors here...not allowed in. Should be on their website but isn’t mentioned. Too bad our family couldn’t stop by for lunch after such good food reviews.

Great lunch stop!

By Rob R |

Well established bar/grill. Great for a quick bite. Rueben sandwich was very good. Definitely recommend for a business lunch. Associate said the chicken was really good.

No place like it

By melgrieves |

Not gourmet, but the fried chicken is delish. Has it's own cool atmosphere. Not a fan of the high stools, but for this place I occasionally compromise. Service is always good and friendly. Great for a quick, affordable lunch. Check it out.

Fantastic lunch. or happy hour place to hang out

By Keithl |

This pub has weekly sandwich specials and daily soup specials. This week the sandwich speech. was a. Shrimp P0-Boy. It was delicious! Lightly battered fried. shrimp, with dressing, tomato, pickles and lettuce. So good! I hope they have this special again soon.

Great fried chicken

By lbnguyen |

We heard about the fried chicken at Macro's and decided to try out the place. Parking is street side with ample parking. Local hangout with pool tables and large number of tables and stools. The bar is well stock. Self service for tables. Waitress is very and friendly and prompt. Fried chicken took about 15 min since it's not precook before the order. The fries is crispy and tasty. Has a large menu selection with reasonable prices. Overall very good experiences and good chicken. Will come back.

Happy hour!!

By Foodie4Life1982 |

Popped in for Happy Hour after volunteering around the corner at Lifelong. Our first server was quite rude, but thankfully it was shift change shortly after we arrived (phew!) We had some drinks and apps (great happy hour 4-7pm), others in our group had their famous chicken. Everything was great! We will be back next time we are in the neighborhood!

that chicken is AMAZING

By fotokaren |

a three piece basket with choice of side is $11.99 but you can add pieces at $2 extra so it is easy to share. The hand cut jo jos are the way to go since it is cut and fried fresh...from at least two potatoes (if not three). good selection of beers. most seating were high tables with stools so not the most comfortable and it is a sports bar so a ton of tvs are on to various sports.

Get the Chicken!

By JMindler |

Stopped by this place after arriving on a late flight into Seattle and got a recommendation from our hotel, the Georgetown Inn. And we were not disappointed. The place has a very laid back atmosphere, cool decorations, and a decent selection of beer. Parking was easy on the street so no need to worry about that. My friend and I split the broasted chicken and another item (I can't even remember the other item because the chicken was so good!). For those who don't know a broasted chicken is pressure cooker fried so it's much juicier than a regular fried chicken. It was fantastic and would highly recommend trying if in the area.

Best Bar in Seattle

By Aaron S |

Marco Polo is our go-to. It is our main stay. It is our living room. Surprisingly excellent service and above average food with aggressive hours make for a destination always delivering good times. It's a great casual business lunch venue and the perfect happy hour/after work drink destination and a good late night and karaoke venue. The fried chicken is truly excellent amd remarkable, but I usually opt for the Chicken Supreme served Buffalo style with perfect crinkle cut fries and Utah-style fry sauce not to be missed! The burgers are well above average and the house-made chili gives Slim's a run for their money. If you're drinking or hungry in Georgetown, I proudly recommend starting or finishing your night at Marco Polo.

Awesine Broasted Chicken!

By Allen B |

Great food and service. Fun bar and sports TV. Would come back here any time I'm in the area. My son introduced me to this sweet spot. Loved the chicken!

Awesome Fried Chicken

By TSFfromNM |

This is a hole in the wall but had great food and service. The fried chicken was outstanding. Chicken Supreme sandwich was good too.

VERY Good fried chicken, great service!

By inupiat1 |

I bought Broasted chicken for my co-worker. I felt that the coating had a great flavor. The chicken tasted fresh, but seemed a little dryer than I care for. It was Very good, buy not the best in Seattle. Great place for drinks!

Old dive bar with great fried chicken

By ChrisFromCincinnati |

We were working in the area and noticed the outdoor signage about their fried chicken... since 1950, etc so we dropped in for a casual late dinner and some beer and apps. The beer was good and cold. Nice selection. The fried chicken was tops. Slaw was home made and cold. The Joe Joe's potato wedges were good and not. Chicken was made by order. Clean. Good server. Surprising good experience!

Good food, but definitely greasy.

By Erin K |

Did not see the decor because it's a tavern, but it looks like a sports bar. We ordered the fried chicken, some fries, and salad. Food took a while to come out. Chicken tasted good, but was very greasy. Fries were good. Poppers were 50% breading and were a little bland. Salad was pretty fresh. Everything tasted good, but found it to be greasy.
