Great Neighborhood Restaurant

By Deb B |

A neighbor told us about this place, and it was every bit as good as she said. It's in a small strip center so you don't expect to walk into a cozy restaurant with white tablecloths and wonderful atmosphere. The owner Prince is front and center, greeting everyone like an old friend. The menu is extensive and the wine is reasonably priced. Our server Fatema was friendly and attentive. We shared a Caesar salad which was huge and more than enough for two. My guy loved the chicken parm, and I had the shrimp appetizer as my entree. It was amazing. We also had a nice bottle of rioja that was wonderful. Save room for dessert because the blueberry cheesecake is covered with wild Maine blueberries!! We cannot wait to go back.

Wedding Rehearsal Dinner

The owner was so friendly, he came by every table to greet customers. The food was amazing and staff was very attentive. It’s a small intimate atmosphere perfect for date night dinner too!

Fantastic!

Fantastic meal and worth the wait! They don’t take reservations. We waited about 30 min early on a Saturday evening. The wait time we were told at arrival was accurate. Warm and welcoming owner. Service was consistently great throughout the meal. Awesome food! Good spice levels when spicy was indicated on the menu. Will be back!

“Try it you’ll like it”

I’ve going there since it opened. The food and the service are amazing. Every time I go I try different things and they are always delicious. Great desserts as well.

Excellent food and service!

My husband and I ate here for an early dinner. The ambience was nice. Lucky waited on us and he was very attentive throughout the meal. Bread was served with seasoned olive oil for dipping. It was very good! We split a Caeser salad and asparagus fries for appetizers and split the eggplant Parmesan and the Pollo e Monte for our main meal. All the food was excellent! I would definitely go back.

Incredible Service

Went here for the first time today for lunch. WOW! Incredible service, great food and great prices. Food was excellent. Try the calamari arrabiata and grilled artichokes. Owner stopped by our table to personally welcome us. Saw at least 7 servers for about 15 or so tables and almost all of them stopped by our table to ensure we had everything. Great experience, we will be back.

Great Homemade Italian Cooking!

We have been here twice, once when they first opened a few months ago and again this week. The people here are great, the owner and his family make you feel welcome and take the time to visit each story. The first time we went it was bring your own alcohol but now they are serving beer and wine. Honestly, we weren’t thrilled with the food the first time, the calamari arrabbiata and the stuffed artichokes were wonderful but the lasagna and lobster ravioli were a lacking in flavor. We decided to give them another change and I am so glad we did. The calamari arrabbiata was wonderful again. This time the lasagna was spot on, very delicious. My wife had the pasta al nero, it was very good. The time between their soft opening this summer and their grand opening this month was well spent, the food has improved dramatically. If you are looking for a reasonably priced good Italian meal in a small quaint place where the owners treat you like family, I would recommend giving mare e monte a try.

Cute Place - Food Disappoints

By PuppyMom1978 |

This is a welcoming upbeat little restaurant, with a manager or owner that is super friendly and attentive. The lighting and decor are creative and nicely done. The menu looks promising, but nothing we had tasted like you would expect, or tasted much at all. Food prep was mediocre, sauces were minimal when they should have been generous, and flavors were off or missing. I had a $29 veal marsala that did not have a hint of marsala flavor and had little flavor at all other than heavy rosemary. The veal was tough and hard to cut. I sent back and went with spaghetti and meat sauce, which also was very bland, with watery sauce and light on meat. My partner had fettuccine alfredo that had minimal sauce with no Alfredo garlicky flavor, and chicken slices were dry. If you can suspend your expectations, this could be a pleasant dining experience except for the prices, which are too high for the quality and flavor you are served.

Not authentic Italian

Strange experience. The food was average and definitely not authentic Italian. Cheesy potatoes? Weird combinations. There is something shady about the experience and staff.
