We had breakfast here on a Sunday morning. It was all you could drink Bellini's and Mimosa's! They were very good. My daughter had the salmon omelet and it was wonderful! I had the blueberry pancakes - so filling! They also had a buffet that looked great!

I know that Marriott has really upped its game when it comes to their restaurants so I had high expectations for this lovely restaurant with a view. Unfortunately, it was unremarkable across the board. If the price had been mid range I would have rated a bit higher, but for what we paid I expected more. A+ for ambiance and convenience (if you are staying at the hotel). Service was fine but not outstanding. Food portions were small and the quality was just OK. It sounds like breakfast there is awesome, but I can't recommend for dinner.

Food: ordered the sea bass sandwich, blackened, with a side salad. Server told me the sea bass was delivered fresh that morning. The fish was tasty and well-prepared but the bun was stale and poorly prepared. Salad ingredients were fresh. Service: Sat at the bar, and the bartender provided good service. Overall cleanliness: above average Ambiance: hotel-corporate bar environment. Nice windows overlooking the pool area.

Good service and a high quality menu - we had the Sea Bass Sandwich - excellent. Good happy hour too....

Great food and wonderful service without ever having to leave the Marriott property. It's nice that you can leave the property easily but equally nice that you can find a good meal inside the hotel.

Terrible service. Waited 30 minutes for someone with knowledge to tell me which food options fit my dietary restrictions and had a busser put someone else's food that made me lose my appetite on my table. The prices were also ridiculous and the food quality was average.

Upon staying at the Marriott Marquis I dined on bar food most of the time which was very good but on July 4th schedule reservations for their special dinner buffet. We were seated in the outdoor patio facing the marina seeing all the boats docked. This was a prime seat to see the fireworks display but it was still around 6 PM. We could have stayed here sipping on drinks but decided it was too long of a wait and saw the fireworks display from our room. I ordered another fine Californian wine and headed to the buffet line. There was a nice wide range of selections like BBQ baby back ribs, 12-hour roasted brandt beef brisket, whole smoked jidori chicken, and daily grilled fish. There was options for kids like hot dogs, hamburgers, tater tots and white cheddar mac & cheese. I sampled many choices and everything was top notch. The food was very tasty and tried as much as I could. The desert choices were excellent. Our waitress did a professional job making sure we were doing fine. This was definitely worth the cost and truly recommend it.

Located in the lobby of the Marriott Marquis in San Diego. Open fairly late and pretty decent menu. BLT turkey is pretty good as is the mahi sandwich. Not sure why, but the iced tea is pretty expensive at four dollars a glass. It's an OK place to eat if you don't want to go to the gaslight district. But if you're in San Diego, and that close, I'm not sure why you wouldn't.

Was attending a Jazzercise 50 Years in Business anniversary at nearby convention center. Worn out from workouts and hungry! So we went to this eatery and bar located off the Marriott Equis lobby. So glad we did. Often hotel restaurants can be so-so, but this place was lively and good. We shared some great apps (get the charcuterie board (get two if you have four people sharing), crispy thin french fries, and shrimp! Oh boy! So good. Almost enough for dinner. But we were hungry. So I got the mushroom risotto and so did my friend. Delish! Just the right portion size, too. Wait staff is friendly and accommodating. My friend could probably star in a remake of "When Harry Met Sally," as she always adjusts whatever is on the menu. But the staff accommodated all of her requests (including one for extra drink cherries -- on the side, ha!) Interior is stylish with booth, table, bar, and couch seating and lovely views out over the harbor. Liked it a lot. Went twice during our stay. Would go again.

On a recent business trip to San Diego, I wandered over to the Marriott at the Marina. It had been years, since I was last there - during the Americas Cup races, and I fondly recalled the Yacht Club Bar, overlooking the Marina. Alas, it is no more, having been replaced, and re-purposed as a Roy's Hawaiian Cuisine restaurant. However, while wandering around the hotel, I came upon the Marina Kitchen & Bar, in the lobby, and decided to have lunch. As I was dining early that evening, I only wanted something light, so went with the Seared Ahi. While waiting, I poured over the rather extensive wine list, and did several B-T-G orders. When my wines arrived, my server mentioned that I might be interested in their "Wine Tastings," and that one was being held that evening. I looked over the tasting, canceled my dinner plans, and booked the wine tasting, instead, planning on eating later, and elsewhere. The Ahi was very, very good, and I am critical of Tuna served in most restaurants, but the highlight was my return that evening. The Tastings are done in what I would call "the rear" of the restaurant, which features a nice bar, and some near-by tables, which are removed from the restaurant's main dining area. There is another bar, right in the middle of the main dining room too. In all, we sampled 10 wines, poured by the Marriott's Sommelier, who was a wealth of knowledge, and familiar with each producer. It was a bit of wine tasting, some chalk talk, and loads of fun. I will definitely get the schedule of their events, and regardless of the wines being poured that night, will be in attendance - planning to dine later - on all visits to San Diego. My only regret was that my wife could not join me, as she was in business meetings, and even had a business dinner that night. Next trip, she will be in attendance.

Marina Kitchen is the classic example of a kept clientele establishment. The food is modest in scope but truly outrageous in price. This is the cost of convenience food. The furniture is quite uncomfortable benches but the location within the Marriott Hotel is the prime factor of choice. A better meal can be had a dozens of places across the street. Service is courteous - the place was empty our evening so it was quiet and under utilized. I had the fish with risotto but the portions were vanishingly small with the risotto hard to detect beneath the modest portion of fish. What was there was well prepared but not particularly memorable. I would not recommend this eating establishment unless you are completely desperate for the convenience of staying within your hotel.

Great bar area with excellent food and drinks at reasonable prices for a hotel restaurant. There is a lot of different seating locations allowing for large groups to mix and mingle. The bottomless popcorn was a huge favorite.

Went down for dinner here after checking in for s conference. Didn't realize I couldn't order from the bar bites menu based on where they seated me. This was after the place was mainly empty but I was told it would be a 15 minute wait for a table. Meanwhile a couple sho were seated when I was finishing dinner asked if they could order off the bar bites menu and their server allowed it. The menu was limited and dishes were expensive. I ordered the salmon with lemon and artichokes. It was the strangest dish as you would think since it was swimming in sauce that you could eat the pieces of artichoke. But once I tried to eat them they were stalky and had the tough leaves on them and I had to sort of eat at them and pull the stringy tough part out of my mouth until I just gave up and didn't eat anymore. Two glasses of wine (the basic cheapest on the menu) and the salmon and my bill stop for one person was $74. Thought that wS s little excessive especially based on the dish

Was here with my large family. Almost 10 people. Food is ok, though may seem to be a little too expensive, stsrting from 25 $ and up. Though it is very rich and tasty and sophisticated. It was a bit too noisy because there was an event. Live guitar music and songs were there. This restaurant can host more than 200 people. Service is quick and professional.

We ate breakfast here while on vacation. There was both a buffet and menu. Both of our selections were excellent as was the service and view. Abe was our waiter--ask for him!

Food was good and service was great. Don’t get enough food for what you pay. They did fill my glass almost as soon as I finished it.

They have everything here for breakfast it is a great way to get the day started they do have some healthy options also but it was hard to resist and Michael the server was awesome

The breakfast buffet here is sumptuous with quite a bit of variety! It costs $26 per person, but is worth it! Four kinds of toasts, homemade butter (unsalted and fresh), fruit bar, variety of marmalades (the orange one was my favorite), bagels and pastries, muffins and cinnamon rolls, cornflakes and milk – these are just starters. They have a live egg counter where the chef will whip up a fluffy omelet or a helping of scrambled eggs (our special thumbs up to this) within minutes. Biscuits with country gravy, egg frittatas (shaped like a mini tart), chicken dumplings, and small potatoes baked with bell pepper and onion (another one of our favorites) flanked one side of the room. They had an assortment of meats for the carnivores, mini-waffles and French toasts too, and an oatmeal counter. Apart from the usual coffee, tea and juices, you can also order bellinis and mimosas during breakfast. Check their a la carte menu for the pancakes and hash browns – which can also be ordered as part of the breakfast buffet. The buffet spread was perfect with no fault in the cooking, but only wish that it displayed some change periodically.

Stayed at the Marriott marquis for 5 days during a medical conference. Really enjoyed the hotel and the restaurant that overlooks the marina and the gorgeous pool area. My fabulous waitress, Lauren, made solid food recommendations with the short rib sliders and truffle fries. The bartender, cache , made great drinks! Johnathan, the manager came by to see how I was enjoying my meal.... a wonderful dining experience for this business traveler!!

Hosted a private Happy Hour on The Porch as Marina Kitchen last week and it was a great setting with great food, great drinks and terrific service (thanks again Megan). Try the lacquer maple bacon! This part of the venue is a bit hard to find but well worth it!

I went to this restaurant for a late dinner. My previous experience at this restaurant was good, expect for the first night our waitress Brianna, wanted us to pay for our food 5 minutes after receiving it because it was time for her shift to end. What happened to allowing us to finish dinner than receiving the check? On Nov 28, I was treated poorly by the hostess at the bar,who told me I had to pay for my food first before I could eat in the lounge, so I decided to sit in the lounge to wait on a hostess to place an order. Well, I was ignored by three hostess in the lounge area, who helped the table behind me but ignored me, so after sitting there for at least 15 minutes, I went to the bar and placed my order. Let me add, I am an black female and the hostesses were another ethnicity. Also the table who they served without an issue, were also another ethnicity other than black. After receiving my food from the rude hostess from the bar, the same three hostesses continued to ignore me. I was so upset with my experience, I left the restaurant and contacted the manager from the restaurant about my horrible experience. Which he stated it was a simple mistake. The restaurant was not full,so there was no excuse for this type of behavior from the hostesses. I am from the south and I have never experienced everyday racism until I visited this restaurant. I contacted via Marriott corporate office about the incident but they only offered an apology and 10,000 Marriott points through email after, I asked someone to contact me via phone to discuss the incident. The lack of verbal communication shows me, they were not interested in discussing the incident nor care about their Marriott members, especially people of color.

buffet was 24$ per guest and nothing great. Only ate their once and than 1 morning got a piece of toast because my mom didn't want to eat and that was 5$ for a slice of toast

Do ask for Michael if you want a superbly pampered experience, the only way to make great food better! Ken & Susan, from "Kan-Do Ponds", Yorba Linda CA.

A little pricey but super convenient. The chips and guacamole were $14 (I think) but is a relatively large serving size. The kids meals are "decent value" and come with a drink. For the 3 of us (mom, dad, daughter) we typically spent $50-75 including tip for a couple meals and a couple drinks. Again, pricey, but convenient.

Was shocked. Usually not a fan of the hotel buffets but this was very well done. Perfect bacon, perfect french toast, the usual omelette bar, and other good food. Very pricey, but it was an unexpected treat in the morning. My only small suggestion would be that it open a little earlier for the east coasters who can’t adjust to the time change:)

Amazing place for breakfast buffet. They have numerous options to choose from and all the food is prepared with top quality ingredients. This is excellent value for money. Highly recommended. Service is excellent It can be packed so better to give yourself sufficient time

Eaten here for breakfast several times. We found the service to be warm, friendly and helpful! Breakfast buffet is reasonably priced!

Breakfast was nice. We had a choice to order off the menu or buffet Decided to order off the menu. Wife had a generous omelet Was excellent with sweet potatoes o the side. I had scramble egg whites with crispy bacon. Both were excellent. Cost was pricy, but what you would expect at a hotel. Atmosphere was nice, clean and friendly

Very good breakfast choice while you stay at the Marriott. friendly staff members. good selection of food.

Service is slow and food was cold when we got it. Took forever to get food and drinks. Nice selection of draft beer. Had a pizza and burger. The pizza cheese was like rubber when I got it and husband said the burger wasn’t good.

On the pricey side and food wasn't very good. Under cooked French fries and just not very tasty overall. Drinks were good and the specials are interesting.

I ate breakfast twice and had drinks/snacks once in the Marina Kitchen and found it pleasant. The buffet breakfast was a notch above similar hotels I have visited. The custom omelettes had more unusual ingredients from which to choose and most of the rest of it was reasonably good. It's a pleasant place to have a drink at the end of the day.

The breakfast buffet here is quite expensive. But that said it's also the best hotel breakfast buffet we've had, with the one exception of the Dell Coronado Hotel on Easter Sunday. There's a wide variety of food it's all very good and we have paid for it three times now so obviously felt it was worth it.

Very busy with large conference in-house. Service was quick. If you want to order at bar for takeaway to your room, you have nice options. Highly recommend the bacon appetizer :)

Came for breakfast on Sunday and had Michael as our server he was very pleasant and personable. The food was great as well with so many selections to choose from I ended up eating a little bit more than I should but who can decide with so many offerings. Stellar service and great food, who could ask for more!

We ate lunch here the day we arrived. Though it bills itself as water views, you are only overlooking the pool and there is no outside seating with this one. The food was good, but service was extremely slow. Many better options elsewhere.

Inside the south lobby is a jewel. Stop and have a snack or super breakfast. Ask for Percy he is a happy guy with a super attitude and a great server

Finding a business friendly, good food, and budget appropriate restaurant in San Diego Bayfront is not super easy. We steered away from pricey chain restaurants, walking distance from a Bayfront hotel. Marina Kitchen in the Marriott hotel is a solid choice. Not too loud so discussions were meaningful, and prompt with food. The restaurant staff were good at keeping the dinner flow moving well. The seafood specials were really good. Menu is limited and depending on order the portions could be small (pasta); however, the steak and seafood are heavier portions. The staff was accommodating and prompt. I recommend the restaurant for casual business meetings.

We ordered a fruit plate with "breakfast breads" anticipating California fresh fruit and a basket of sliced bread, a biscuit or a croissant. We got weak coffee, unripe strawberries and other hard melons and 3 inch piece of cake dough. Still hungry-asked for English muffin and piece of cheese. None of this was very appealing. Imagine our appetite when the bill told us that the English muffin was $5 each, the cheese slice was $1 each and breakfast breads never appeared! We have been Marriott members for 25 years and perceive this meal as the lowest point in that time. Marriott needs to find new management for this restaurant. Avoid is best decision.

We stopped in for a quick bite while waiting for the room. We split a hamburger and fries before a big meal later. Great view of public pool area; great attentive service and regular burger and fries

Service was uneven. My order was taken and drinks brought promptly. I had to wait what seemed an inordinate amount of time for soup, and even longer for the sandwich. I had to flag down the server to get a refill. The mushroom soup was amazing. It's a puree of portobello mushrooms that is rich and darkly flavorful. The turkey BLT, on the other hand, was dry and flavorless. The bread fell apart while I was eating it. With an iced tea, it came to nearly $27.00 before the tip.

The black bean burger was my favorite. So much so that I had it several times. :) I had blueberry pancakes for breakfast one morning...and the portion was definitely large enough to share!

The restaurant was clean. The wait staff was friendly and helpful, my meal came out in a decent amount of time. I had a table overlooking the pool area at night which was beautiful and the food was reasonably priced and delicious.

Excellent restaurant and reasonably priced for a California hotel location. Our server Birgitta was very attentive despite the fact we were at an isolated table location (the place was very busy). You can get a nice dinner here for $30 and it's conveniently located inside the Marriott Marina so if you're staying here it is a good bar and restaurant to visit/hang out.

On our last day with a very early flight in the morning we decided to eat at the hotel. We found it very tasty. I really enjoyed the short rib cavatappi. The pasta seemed fresh and the sauce was delicious, generous with the short rib too. My husband loved his burger, very flavorful. Plenty of tvs to watch sports. Took about 20 minutes for the food to arrive which was reasonable. Number of craft beers (and you can sample a few if you are unsure what you may like, but they didn't offer any flights). We would have gone back if it wasn't our last day. $51 for dinner and two beers was a decent price.

Keeping in mind that it is a restaurant within the hotel area and the menu is rather pricey, I was a bit disappointed that the food, even if in itself well prepared, could have been prepared with greater creativity and variety of ingredients.

I had two "business breakfasts" at the Marina kitchen and the service/food were excellent. The breakfast buffet is a little pricey but the variety is amazing. The omelette chefs were great!

The Marina Kitchen Restaurant and Bar is nice overall, has different seating options, a good drinks menu, but the food options are poor and it is very pricy.

Very good selection at this Marriott restaurant. Servers were friendly and prompt. Food was yummy. Mahi sliders were tasty.

Had a business lunch and ate what looked like a very nice garden salad with well done steak. That night I was unable to eat dinner, I knew something was brewing. I was then up all night running to the bathroom. I probably just got unlucky, my friends were fine.

totally disappointing for a cat 8 HOTEL. Been to Atlanta and it BLOWS this place away. IF not for the location I doubt anyone would stay here and pay these high rates ...

The food was nothing special. Standard fare without a lot of imagination. The service was friendly and efficient.

A nice convenient eatery located at the Marriott. Service and selection are good. The food options met expectations and reasonably priced for a hotel eatery. Nice selection of drinks and cocktails.

Favorite fish and wine of the week was at this restaurant. Server was green but he did a great job. Also had lunch twice at the bar and had a great experience there as well. Do not hesitate eating here especially if you are a hotel guest.

Had breakfast and dinner there for business. The restaurant is populated largely by conventioneers and business types. The breakfast was superb, but very pricy. The dinner was great according to my business guests. The reservation was a bit messed up from what I had requested and the manager fixed it immediately. That helped solve some problems and the business dinner went off without a hitch. Despite being busy the manager that night was eager to solve the issue and I appreciate it.

I have to give this place a poor rating because they wouldn’t seat us, unless we promised to eat something. We actually knew that we wanted a drink and said we would decide what to eat when we had seen the menu. They would only seat us at the bar, so unfortunately I can’t comment on their food and have to give a default poor rating for customer service.

This restaurant in the Marriott Maquis Hotel Resort at the San Diego Marina has some of the best breakfasts and lunches we have ever tasted. Michael and Abe are some of the best wait staff we have ever encountered. Did not have dinner there but I bet it would have been very special. Love the atmosphere as well.

Although we were staying at the Hyatt, we had the breakfast buffet twice at the Marriott hotel next door. Both hotels had two buffet options. The full buffet with made to order omlettes, and a "continental" breakfast. I always just get the continental because I'm not a fan of breakfast meats and eggs. At the Hyatt, all hot food required the full buffet. At the marriott, only the made to order required the full buffet. I was able to have waffles with fresh fruit, and my wife had scrambled eggs on the "continental" menu for the same price as the Hyatt. And, lots of other breakfast choices, also.

Chic atmosphere but don’t come for the view. Dined here four times in nine days. Customer service at the bar is A+ especially Jared. Nice selection of local IPAs. Go for the Bigger Bites on the bar menu; Lamb Sliders and Beef Short Ribs Sliders are highly recommended. Forget the Grilled Cheese Trio, too much bread, too little cheese. Gem Lettuce Salad is a treat with huge chunks of aged bleu cheese and thick-cut beef bacon … mmmm. Another selection to consider is the "Staff Meal" on the dining room menu. It changes every day. I had the Poutine of short ribs, tater tots, rice and melted cheese. Wow! Really good! Had it not been for the less than stellar service in the dining room, this would have been rated Excellent.

Choose their breakfast buffet twice while staying there. They had a great assortment, plus you could get your eggs cooked to order. Lunch on the patio was lovely and the food was good and plentiful.

Had breakfast there during my stay--had the breakfast scramble. Was very good and the service was great. Good place for breakfast before you go out and explore the Gas Lamp District!

I ate here a couple times during my stay at the Marriott. Service at the bar was great but one night I grabbed a table and service was ok at best. Many times I felt like I was bothering the waitress. On my last night there I decided to stop by their tasting room since they offer great happy hour pricing for their wine flights. I wish I had discovered this sooner. The sommelier that night was AMAZING (I wish I could remember her name). I had so much fun with her and others there for wine flights. Definitely check it out!

Ate here at dinner and breakfast. The dinner was great! We got burgers and salads. Everyone was happy with their meal. Breakfast for $31 was a little on the high side. The buffet was ok but nothing great.

Ate at the bar several times during ourt hree day stay. Don was especially good, friendly with a great personality. Had snack of potato skins twice and they were great. Also had flatbread and it was very good. Good food and reasonable price for a hotel restaurant/bar. Thanks Don.

This hotel restaurant offers a good menu and excellent service. Rooms were open and quiet albeit busy with good views of the marina. Both breakfast and lunch offerings were well done and served quickly with excellent friendly waitresses. We had Kathy twice...and appreciated her attention to special orders and continual smile.

Got the chicken breast sandwich... chicken was pink to bloody inside, completely inedible if not dangerous to eat. The fries looked and tasted like they had been sitting under a heat lamp for the last day. Soda was watered down to the point of being colored water.

We had dinner one night at the restaurant. I had the cream of tomato soup which was very creamy and tasty. In addition, I had the chicken entree that was served with baby carrots. My husband had the special that was a swordfish dish. It was served on top of a mound of vegetables. It was excellent. There is a good wine list but it is pricey.

In my review of the November 2017 stay, you will see my high praise for the cuisine, the presentation, and the extreme care taken by the wait staff to accommodate a variety of eating requirements by my guests. Outstanding on all levels.

I had the pleasure of having lunch and dinner here while at a conference. The servers are very attentive. They genuinely seem to want to please. The dishes are very flavorful. It's nice when I find a good restaurant within a hotel.

Very disappointing meal, the servers were not particularly attentive and the whole place was noisy. I ordered the scallops and a side of truffle fries. When the meal finally arrived, the scallops were cold and very over cooked, it was a generous serving of 6 scallops but they were almost rubbery and very gritty, the truffle fries tasted nice but did not seem to be freshly made from potatoes but were perhaps from frozen? Not great. I understand why the Marriott Marquis San Diego does not have room service- it's that the food isn't good enough to charge room service prices for it. Very sad!!

Good selection and when the restaurant and bar were packed, it was nice to be able to order off the menu and just take it up to your room.

Sure, it is in a hotel, but it is open, bright, and clean. The food is good, too. I had the hummus lunch and found it to be perfectly acceptable. Our servers were friendly and responsive along with timely.

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. It was in my hotel, and we wanted a quick bite. We ended up sitting in the bar area, but we had fabulous service! The food was really good, especially the small plates. The truffle fries were a hit with the table, and I thoroughly enjoyed the grilled cheese. The prices were reasonable for a hotel restaurant.

Stopped here on arrival for a quick meal. Had one of the best beet salads I have ever had along with the daily flatbread, service was fast and food excellent

We unfortunately stayed at the San Diego Hilton Bayfront, but were fortunate to find this gem! During Comic-Con we had outstanding food, wonderful service and great views. We walked to this restaurant the last two days of our visit because the food and service at the Hilton Bayfront were awful! The Seafood salad was filled with shrimp, crab and lobster with Green Goddess dressing and I ate it two days in a row. My daughter had the French Dip on one occasion and the Caesar salad on the next visit. Both were delicious! Planning to stay at the Marriott the next time we visit!

Great restaurant, nice view to the garden and pool, get a table with a view. Good food. Excellent breakfast buffet and the service was first class. At night it was the happening place and in the morning it was relaxing and delicious. I will go back!

Ate breakfast in the restaurant, rather odd seating arrangements - you couldn't sit where you wanted even with loads of tables free. Lots of choice at breakfast.

The food is just fine and the service fine but there was something a little off putting. Not sure what it was but overall a very nice place. Ate there twice on a recent stay. Ordered a specialty drink one night they had to look up and it was $27 because ice cream was added to the drink. That was a shock

Beautiful space near the south tower of the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina hotel, but that's the best part. We came in for a lunch break while in the hotel for a conference. We were seated next to the window and had a wonderful view of the water. Togarashi crusted albacore tuna poke salad $22 My favorite part of the salad was definitely the tuna. The flavor of the togarashi was very strong and almost overpowering. I think in this case, less is more. They were overly generous with the dressing. Drug store burger ordered medium $19 We ordered with the sauces on the side (and based on the amount of dressing on the salad, it was probably a good choice). The flavor was good overall. The onion rings and fries were crispy.

Great service from Esmeralda she really made it breakfast great all personal is atent the Cook and the rest of the personal great

Inside the south lobby is a jewel. Stop and have a snack or super breakfast. Ask for Emily at night.

Solid if somewhat standard breakfast buffet. They have a nice selection of all of the standard US options (fruit, yogurt, french toast, pancakes, omelets, oatmeal, etc) and they make sure to have all the standard fixings you would want. They also include some aytpical things like chicken dim sum. They don't seem to have any options for table service at breakfast time so I guess it's buffet or nothing. Which is mostly okay I guess but not the best for a business meeting. Worth going here if you are staying at Marriott but not worth a special trip.

Probably the best fine dining in SD. Better than Mister A's or athor famous places. The view, the service, the food...all is extremely good!

Went here because we were so damn tired from pool activities at the Marriot marquis. They have a nice menu to pick from. I had the Caesar salad w/Arctic char. That was some of the best damn fish I’ve ever had. My wife had it the first time we went to this restaurant and highly recommended it, when we went back the second time. She had the fettuccine Alfredo the second time and said it was great. The kids were a little more difficult to appease. Not a lot of choices for them. The kitchen was more then accommodating for the kids. Great staff. Would definitely recommend.

Wow, is this place expensive! I've never spent over a hundred dollars for breakfast. It was an Easter Brunch and it was very good, but not +$100 good. Plus, they add in a service fee (tip) on all bills. I've never seen that for a party of two before. I do not recommend this place. There are a lot of other restaurants nearby that are just as good or better, for a lot less. I won't go back.

We ate here a few times. We had the appetizer chicken pot pie with tator tots which was good and the chicken jirdi with potato salad and cole slaw was wonderful.

It was good. Ate at the bar and had a salad with chicken on it, Had a couple drinks, but it was not out of this world good. The staff was very helpful. It was very convenient right in hotel.

Went to the breakfast buffet every morning, and i'm really not a buffet guy. However it was great with anything you can want....even fresh sliced prime rib!

This convenient location was an excellent choice for any early morning business breakfast. The buffet is very expensive but has many selections. The a la carte menu was adequate and less expensive. Service was attentive and excellent.

Breakfast is good with very rich continental buffet. Just beware that personnel charges differently and sometimes you pay more, than you eat! The bar in evenings is ok. In both cases, staff is hectic with inconsistent service quality!

I had the breakfast buffet in that hotel restaurant and it was small but varied and good. Nice and confortable place to hang out with friends in the evening.

What good is fast service if the food is bad? This place apparently aims to deliver your food before you finish unfolding your napkin. But the result is not good. We had pasta with short-rib ragu and it tasted like it came from a Stouffer's frozen dinner. The seafood salad had frozen and not fresh shrimp. Everything was obviously prepared before we even came in (and probably before we even checked in!)

The service is excellent and the food good, their unsweetened tea is excellent. The Cesar very good and the burgers very good. Full dinner menu is not available until after 5:30.

The waitress didn't seem too happy I was there, but the food was good. They were able to make a flatbread for me that was celiac appropriate, which I appreciate.

Staying at the Marriott Marquis Marina, this is the "house" restaurant, in addition to a grab and go, Roy's and a Starbucks. They do a really nice job here, running a breakfast/brunch daily, lunch and dinner. We enjoyed a full brunch almost every day. It's not cheap...$27 per adult, which includes a made-to-order omelette station, or $19 per adult without the omelette. Food was different (short-rib hash!!! and chicken sausage) and service was excellent. For dinner, they had a nice menu of contemporary american food which featured a burger with beef bacon. Beef bacon!!! My adult son thought it was one of the best tasting burgers ever, due to the beef bacon. For a hotel restaurant, it was excellent and a pleasure to dine there.

We were 'late' to breakfast - 10:00am. Unless you ordered something made to order the accompaniments were dry and fit for the bin.

I've been around the world on business trips and eaten at the finest and the humblest of restaurants, but this is the first time I've ever felt physically threatened by a waiter. We stopped by for a few drinks at night after the close of daily events at the conference we were attending. There were three couples (6 people). Things were going well with the waiter, I thought. He seemed normal. He came to our table and told us he was leaving for the night and set the bill on the table. We asked for him to please transfer the cheque to the next server covering our table, as we were interested in staying for another round. He refused and said he was unable to do that. One of our group spoke up, politely, and noted to him that we had been there the night before and that server was able to transfer our table to the next server. He refused again and said he couldn't do that. So, we asked why the last night's server was able to accommodate this request, but he could not. He became agitated and angry. He flushed, became visibly angry and started to shake. He said, in a raised voice, that it was not that he could not do it, but that he didn't want to. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Never have I had a server react so rudely to a basic request. We asked for a manager to clear this up. He shouted (literally, he shouted) "Fine" and reached across the table, violently grabbed the bill, crumpled it up, threw it on the floor and stormed off. I had to move back quickly to avoid being hit in the face when he grabbed the bill. We never saw him again. Yes, this actually happened. No, we weren't rude to the server in any way. No, there is no element of exaggeration in this review. I left because I felt really uncomfortable was worried about the servers state of mind at that point. I suspect perhaps there was a mental health issue going on with this server. The three men at our table stayed. My husband reported to me later that they waited about 10 minutes and no new server arrived, so one of them went to the bar to tell someone what had happened. The incident was relayed to the manager, who came over and was very very apologetic.

My son got a couple of sliders and fries. Everything was done correctly and good. The service was just OK. We saw a change when we did not order drinks however which is to bad.

I had breakfast on the restaurant when Staying on the Marriott hotel. Costly, but delicious; the chef fried multiple dishes for me to perfection. The restaurant is large, but with many boots, so it appears almost cozy.

Very nice setting, view of the Marriott Marquis pools and hot tub, lovely presentation of buffet area. The woman who prepared our omelettes and grilled our blueberry pancakes was very sweet and eager to please. Both food items were excellent! Lots of other offerings throughout the buffet. My husband said the potatoes he had were dry as was the sausage. I had bacon and it was prepared perfectly the way I like it--crispy. I thought it was reasonably priced for a hotel restaurant: $22 or $23 per person. One could also order off the menu, if one preferred. Our server was a bit distracted at first, but she was extremely pleasant and interested in pleasing. Would definitely return.

It was really a horrible experience. Rooms are old, not updated at all. Beds are horrible, mattress has lumps, really uncomfortable. Shower has no water pressure. Internet works intermittently. Covid cleaning procedures, advertised, seem to be reduced to put the TV remote in a plastic bag and save in cleaning services. Only one small container of shampoo, conditioner and cream. A small bar of soap!

We tried 5 different appetizers. They were all wounderful. The service was good. Cocktails were delicious. I would highly recommend going there. They even had a wine tasting room. Very cool.

We didn't eat here, but we sat at the bar for a few drinks while watching the World Series. You must order the "bottomless popcorn". I'm pretty sure it is not "good for you", but we couldn't stop eating it!

Want a quick bite and don't feel like navigating the city, then Marina's is your best bet. Good food, quick service.

I only had breakfast at this restaurant so I can only speak for that meal, but it was perfect! The buffet was well-stocked, everything was cooked perfectly, and the staff was friendly and quick with their service. I'd recommend their pancakes and bottomless mimosas :-)

This is one of the restaurants within the Marriott Marquis. We were staying there and having but appreciated that most of the restaurants in the Gaslight closed around 10 this was ‘life saver’ as it serves food (a reduced menu) until about 1am. The bar/restaurant was very busy and noisy as it appears to be a late night relaxing place for people coming back from conference meals. Food is ok service was good and the price for hotel dining was reasonable

Harbor views. Friendly and efficient service. Nice contemporary atmosphere and elegantly presented fare. Delicious.

My travel mate and I shared 3 appetizers that were not so appetizing - mushy crab cakes that very fishy smelling (not so fresh), and rather expensive.

Nice place with dining for the day. Kids menu and also a bar and late night dinning .Salads, sandwiches also starters and shared plates. Great fish and check out the seafood tower.Half a dozen san diego beers on draft and also bottle .

After a morning of meetings for my husband, followed by some shopping for me, we needed a light bite to tide us over before dinner reservations. We popped in to this restaurant and enjoyed the view of the pool area while sipping a glass of wine and sharing their margherita flatbread. The flatbread was fantastic - fresh basil topped it and the flavors were delicious. Service was excellent. It was exactly what we needed. This is the location for the hotel’s buffet breakfast as well. We did not have time for that but heard good things about it from other guests.

Vastly improved experience compared to multiple visits two months ago. Short rib & grilled vegetables were excellent. Thanksgiving dinner buffet was a bit chaotic but outstanding food quality! Staff is very friendly & helpful, especially Julia.

Great environment, friendly servers, excellent food. The Grilled Jidori Chicken Paillard was a very good meal that was tasty and had enough food for a hungry person.

The buffet was great and prices reasonable. The buffet had a variety of food to choose from. Rosalie was great with customer service . She is very attentive.

During Comic-Con so not a normal time Overall the hotel is well staffed for the crowds but still you must expect to wait 15 to 30 min at lunch times. It is not cheap but the food and drinks are very good. Service is always top notch. If it is too busy go to Roys out by the bay.

We are Marriot Platinum Elite rewards members. I say that right from the beginning so you understand how often we frequent Marriott's and their restaurants. Yesterday we went to Marina Kitchen for Mother's Day brunch and had one of the worst customer service experiences I can remember. Our server Jessica was not only inattentive she was not forthcoming with some of the changes to this years Mother's Day brunch. We asked if Mimosas were included with brunch as they have been for the last several years and she said "yes they are bottomless". That does not mean included with our $60+ per plate brunch. Long story short, after we cleared our own plates as we ate the buffet and having to look for her to ask for water and coffee we were presented with a bill that included our mimosas and a few mimosas we asked to have with little orange juice. Drink alone were over $100. She charged us for each mimosa and several champagnes. She was unapologetic about the misunderstanding and took almost 45 minutes to return to our table after we asked her to check with her manager about the bill. We are used to fine dining and spending money for meals but this was deceptive on the part of our waitress and the restaurant as the manager referenced a small sign at the front of the hostess booth that mentioned mimosas would not be included this year. At the end of our experience, we paid for all we ate and drank, but were left with a bad taste in our mouth from the lack of effort from everyone at Marina Kitchen. We won't return for another special occasion or cup of coffee for that matter.

We stay at the Marriott Marquis often for weekend getaways or to catch an early flight out the next day. We dine at the Marina Kitchen for its convenience. While it may be a bit pricey, we have never been disappointed! There are always plenty of tables available when we dine (5-5:30 p.m.) and the service is always excellent. I usually order one of the "Chef's Specials" and have found them delicious, often wishing they would be available the next time we dine because they are so good!

I sat at the bar and the views were great. Overlooks the beautiful pools. Love the local beer selections. They have some basic food options (burgers) but also some more unique ones (pork belly). This is a good place to eat if you are at the Marriott or the convention center.

The salads were fresh and the pasta was flavorful. The bartenders were friendly and accommodating. We liked how open and light the restaurant was with the big windows.

ate here twice for lunch, outside. food was quite good and substantial. home made potato chips are worth taking back to your room. If it's windy, bring a light coat - the outside can be very cool inthe shade with wind.

The restaurant offers wine tasting from 5pm onward. We tried a couple of flights (I think the flights offered change frequently).

I ate two meals at the Marina Restaurant. Breakfast Buffet was great at $26. I had dinner there also and found their 35+ plus entrees a bit too high Service was good as was their wine and beer and spirits selection

We had 2 meals here. The burgers are great and HUGE! The fries are plentiful. We enjoyed the salad. The service is great and fairly fast.

We had breakfast here for the duration of our stay and the selection is amazing! The hickory smoked bacon was my fave, while my husband had fresh made to order pancakes both days.

Staying at Marriott for a conference June 12-June 16, 2018, I ate the Breakfast Buffet twice. It is a very good buffet with omelets to order, pastries, lots of fruit, yogurts, etc. very good and peaceful. It was nice to get the morning paper from the bellhop desk and quietly eat a nice breakfast with a pot of coffee so I didn’t have to wait for coffee.

Food and service are great. Had breakfast buffet - a little pricey but comparable to other luxury hotels - with lots of good choices. Also had lunch and dinner and food was fabulous.

Probably the best Marriott buffet we've had. Fresh baked muffins and small (tea) cakes were spectacular. Their pasty chef is a master! Freshly made egg dishes. Nice fresh waffles, with all the fixings. Fresh fruit, ample amounts of everything. Really well stocked, and spotless. Highly recommend.

We stopped in for a glass of wine on our way to the San Diego Pops Bayside concert. It was 5:00 p.m. There were only about four parties there at the time, two at tables and a couple of singles at the bar. Our server, Sam, took our order for a premium glass of wine each. We waited, we waited and we waited. We actually made a joke about waiting for the grapes to grow. There were no fewer than six servers and two bartenders congregating and chatting in the service area. Still we waited. Finally the wine came and Sam asked if we'd like bread, which we did. She brought it very quickly. For most of the time there the number of servers outnumbered the guests, so I observed them as they gathered together to chat. The female servers who had long hair (mostly in a pony tail) kept running their fingers thru their hair. I wondered if they washed their hands before serving food.

This is a restaurant and bar. I ate here (breakfast, bar food) and visited the bar for drinks with colleagues several times during a three night stay. The food was very good and they had a nice selection of alcohol, including different types of sparkling wines/champagnes which I really appreciated. The servers were all friendly and great. If you are staying at the Marriott Marquis, definitely worth a visit.

I recently ate brunch here and had a very enjoyable experience. Excellent food choices and superb service!

We arrived late to the hotel and decided to eat in the hotel restaurant. We did not need reservations and the views of the harbor were spectacular. BUT the best was the food- had the short ribs with risotto instead of pasta and it was perfect. The sauce/gravy was rich and oh-so-flavorful. Also ate at the breakfast buffet and it was superb. Highly recommend.

The Fish Tacos and Sushi appy were very good. Great outdoor space sit on the patio and you can watch all the boats coming and going, very relaxing

Marina Kitchen is located within Marriott Marquis San Diego. Truly speaking, you cannot classify it as a true "restaurant". The menu is very limited and mainly based on sandwhiches. My wife and I dined twice and noted that the food was truly (the score would be between 1 and 2..) mediocre. What made the restaurant "medium level" was the warmth and the attention of the personnel and the great view of San Diego Marina. On the positive side, I must say that the morning breakfast was truly good. Overall, medium level. Highly recommendable for breakfast, not so for dining.

Really great service. Had several meals here while staying at the Marriott. Food was good. Especially liked the bread served with dips. It is a little expensive but that would be expected in this location.

Excellent in every way, but it seems everyone else agrees. 5 stars all the way and is worth the price! For a special experience or just someone looking for the freshest, most delicious dishes, definitely put this on your list. (Late Entry - May 2017)

The breakfast buffet here is great - wide assortment of foods, everything is fresh, and you can get made to order egg dishes.

My husband and I decided to have a cup of coffee and a dessert in the Marina Kitchen Restaurant in the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina Hotel on Sunday night. The waiter was extremely rude! Horrible service! I would not recommend to dine in the Marina Kitchen restaurant.

My wife and I went to the Marina Kitchen Restaurant & Bar in the Marriott Marquis on Harbor Blvd. after a San Diego Padres baseball game , and had a great time. The Bar is layout with a lot of tables and chairs all around the bar area. You can see the many boats in the Marina and look out at the views of the Pool area. They also have many TV's all over the Bar area for you to watch your favorite sporting event. The Drinks were very good and the Hamburgers we had were delicious. They serve Breakfast , Lunch and Dinner for the Marina Bar area. Everything is a little pricey, but it was good.

The breakfast buffet was filled with many healthy options and offered a hot breakfast as well. We totally enjoyed having breakfast here. Modern decor, spacious, well laid out restaurant. The hostesses are friendly and the servers are personable and attentive. Gorgeous view of the Marina on one side and the swimming pool on the other. A great place for breakfast at the Marriott Marquis.

There's nothing outstanding about this restaurant. The food is decent and there's a nice view of the pool and grounds. Today I came for lunch. I told the hostess that I wanted to sit at window-side table. She looked around and told me she had a table close to the window but not next to it, and I could sit at that table. There were at least two free tables next to the window but they hadn't yet been cleared. I repeated that I wished to sit next to the window. Her answer should have been something along the lines of "if you'll wait just a moment I'll clear a table next to the window right away." It wasn't, but upon my repeated request she cleared a table next to the window. No big deal, but for me customer service is critical. I can pay $14 for truffle fries anywhere, so you'd best be at the top of your game. So, on to customer service and my server, Abe. Outstanding service! While I waited for the hostess to bring me a menu Abe shows up, realizes I didn't have one, and fixed that pronto! He was fast, courteous, and friendly. Not once did I ask for more coffee or more water. He came to the table at least twice to ensure I was enjoying my lunch. We even had a nice conversation about San Diego and what it's like to live here. Today's award goes to Abe, who represented Marina Kitchen in style!

Flew in late and the restaurant was still open. A small band was playing, so I sat away from the noise. Large bar area with a extensive drink selection. I had several great beers, Blonde Ales. The cheese burger was excellent with fries and rings. The calamari was average. A $70 late night dinner.

The breakfast buffet is quite good, lots of options. You can also choose a la carte with different items, many healthy choices.

The menu is rather limited. They try some creative takes on food (like cheesecake) but it just doesn’t work. The food is not bad, but it’s just not that good either. I would leave the hotel and hit up one of the local restaurants.

It's a little more on the expensive side, but I enjoyed the $22 breakfast buffet. They have the made to order omelets and a variety of other items on the buffet. We also ate here for lunch one day. The burgers are awesome!

Great breakfast, selection was great. Omelets station was wonderful. Leo was very attentive and made sure we had coffee, water, and juice. Bonus was their Miso soup. Very very tasty.

Great selection of grains, protiens and fruits. MAde to order omelets and eggs as well as all the traditional favorites.

Excellent bread with a special tomato and olive oil spread comes out with cocktails. The potato soup was out of this world delicious, but my scallops were just ok.

Very nice location within the confines of the Marriott. They were able to seat a large group at a nice widow table. We shuffled seats a couple of times because the AC really blasted a couple of the seats I enjoyed my crab encrusted rock cod -- it was perfectly cooked and tasty...but that was pretty much it -- it was on a small bed of rice with no other sides. The person next to me had salmon and he said it didn't seem fresh...maybe just overcooked. Another person just ordered appetizers and he enjoyed the seared ahi. The wine list is nice, but they certainly are proud of it if the prices are an indication. Our service was very good except for the bill. We asked for separate checks (which would have been a hassle I know) and got one total bill. Since some folks had wine, and others just ordered a salad or an appetizer, it was a bit of a grind to get the thing sorted out. Overall my sense was the food was good, but the prices were a bit high.

Service was perfect. Our server, Abe, was as good as it gets. The others who helped us were also outstanding. One at our table ordered from the menu, and she was very pleased with her meal. Two of us ate from the buffet, and while very good, it wasn't outstanding. It seemed they were a bit cautious with spices, but that might be a reflection of trying to please the clientele which is primarily the convention crowd. I had huevos rancheros and it had all the necessary ingredients, but none of the fire I expected. The bread section was excellent, with a wide selection, and what we tried rivaled anything in a German bread buffet (the gold standard, in my opinion). I am downgrading it a star because it was mostly standard fare, and a few pleasant surprises, like pot stickers, but the flavors were too toned down, and the buffet wasn't as extensive as I expected for the price.

Excellent food, clean areas, friendly staff. Endless pot of starbucks coffee was really nice. Big city prices but worth the cost.

I gave this a 3 only because our waiter was excellent. We stayed at the Marquis on December 10, 2022. We had 3 rooms. Got up this morning and headed to the buffet. I generally let issues go but this buffet was one of the worse meals I have ever had. The bacon was greasy, and the eggs and triangle hash browns had no taste at all. The food was on the cold side also. My husband went to the buffet and got me an omelette. Sad to say but this wasn’t good either. My husband wasn’t pleased with his meal either. The rest of my family had fruit, danish etc so there was no complaints there. I think the buffet was $30 per person. The hotel is so nice. Very clean and staff everywhere were exceptional. Sorry Marriott, but I just had to share this information. VM

Burrata Cheese ($14) is served with tomato jam, speck, and toasted bread. The burrata is like a creamy cloud of cheese. It’s so soft and mild, it pairs well with the tomato jam and speck, adding both sweet and salty notes. The toasted bread is the perfect delivery vehicle for this starter. Rating: 5/5 Seafood Salad ($19) is Dungeness crab, rock shrimp, and Maine lobster atop gem lettuce and avocado green goddess dressing. It’s the perfect spring/summer salad to enjoy while overlooking the lush tropical pool area. The crab, shrimp, and lobster are cooked to perfection, each with their own unique flavor notes of sweet and briny flavors. The dressing has a nice flavor and lends itself nicely to the seafood, adding flavor without overpowering. Rating: 5/5 Brandt Beef Flat Iron ($26.50) is a grilled flat iron steak topped with herb butter and served with arugula salad and truffle fries. This has to be the best flat iron steak around! The steak has the tender texture of filet mignon but with subtle marbling. The knife cuts through like butter. The herb butter adds an herbal essence bringing out the sweetness of the beef. The truffle fries are so aromatic and highly addictive indeed; crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside with truffle flavor and aroma in every bite. Rating: 5/5 Maker’s Mark Milkshake ($14) is served with maple lacquered pepper bacon. It has a creamy texture from the ice cream. The Maker’s Mark bourbon packs a punch but lends a caramel-like flavor to the shake. The added bacon shakes things up with a little bit of salty. This also won the “Best Dessert” at the San Diego Bay Food & Wine Festival. Rating: 5/5

Bit pricey but with some different and interesting twists on comfort food items (e.g. Truffle fries and mezza plate). Late night/wee morning hours service is great for the business traveler.

Really nice staff. The breakfast buffet was varied and all the the items were very fresh. Coffee was very good and the overall atmosphere was nice and comfortable

Great bar and lounge area to meet up with work folks. Unique open environment. Can eat there or in restaurant and we did both. Food is okay, but atmosphere makes it better.

The room was only cleaned when I called and asked, there was no room service except for 'pantry food' which makes it difficult for someone like me who stays in hotels often and relies on decent room service every day, and when I was leaving, I asked the attendant standing outside to call a taxi, and he called someone then hung up and told me "my friend isn't working today" and walked away. I ended up walking back into the hotel and asked the guy behind the desk to call a taxi, but it was weird that someone on your staff literally called a friend to give me a ride to the airport. I've enjoyed staying at other locations of the Marriott, but this was my last time staying at this one.

Breakfast buffett fits all food needs and includes turkey bacon, healthy choices and omelettes made to order. Fresh fruit and yogurt parfaits outstanding. Buffett includes coffee and juice and a coffee to go. Wait staff very attentive to every need.

Went here for date night and I have to say Gigi our server was a dream. Happy, delightful, but more than that astute to a problem that came up. We ordered the charcuterie board which was phenomenal. But… it was so large it took us a long while to eat it. While we were about half way done our mains showed up and we were not even close to being ready for them. The man who was the food runner stared at us and o said put them on the other side of the table and he did. He then left. 6 minutes later Gigi came by to ask how we were. She saw us still Eating the appetizer and our food sitting there getting cold. Long story short, she apologies and takes the food back to the kitchen. She comes back a couple of minutes later and tells us the chef apologized and that there is a timing stern for when food gets sent out and for us to let her know when we were ready for dinner. The question is- why did the guy leave the food there in the first place when we were clearly not ready for it. I’m any case Gigi took care of us and the new version on the meals came out and were outstanding. I had the see bass, possibly the best piece of bass I’ve had and my day had the fried chicken. He loved it and I loved mine. Stellar food. With the way Gigi took care of us we will be back. You should go too.

A deceiving hotel restaurant & bar. Tucked away in the Marriot Marquis, food menu is good, but go for the custom drinks. The drink prices are amazingly reasonable for being a) downtown, and b) in a hotel. Try the Makers Mark milkshake.

While staying at the Marriott Marina San Diego for the Cedia convention we didn't want to go back to the Gaslamp restaurant area so we tried the Marina Kitchen. We were so very blown away with everything from service to the amazing food. My husband had the 4 course for $65. He had the filet with lobster main course plus 2 starters and dessert. I had the Thursday chicken special. Everything was so very flavorful and delicious. The starters we chose were the ravioles and beet salad. They were awesome. Our server was awesome so was the wine server. To end we had the vanilla bean cake. Omg that was out of this world. To end our great meal they did something to show they care about their clients that blew me away. you must try it.

According to the website, the breakfast buffet is $26, but when we broke down our bill, it was only $23 a piece. Such a bargain at either price, especially since the food was amazing! The toaster was SUPER slow, so skip the toast and grab a couple of their mini muffins instead. They had orange/cranberry, banana/chocolate chip, and one other that I didn't try, but the first two were super yummy! There were five in my group, so we tried just about everything between all of us. The coffee was great, the bruschetta french toast was amazing, and the omelettes were perfect! I would characterized the food as unpretentious gourmet. They even had chicken dim sum! The only thing that was a fail was their attempt at biscuits and gravy. This is simple, comfort food that shouldn't be "uplifted"... ever. Keep the biscuits buttermilk based and the gravy sausage based. Period. Everything else was just amazing. We'll be back here again and again. And our server told us this is the buffet they offer 7 days a week! Best ever.

We went to dinner here while staying at the Marriott. We needed a late dinner that was close by and decided to give this restaurant a try. The food was great! Service was excellent, our waitress was very attentive. Will likely come back this week!

At a 5-Star hotel, you expect a breakfast buffet that's delicious, expansive, and covers your morning needs. While we expected that, that was not at all what we received. First off, while the seating is expansive, the buffet space itself is tiny and cramped, and has a grotto-like, shoulder-to-shoulder dingy feel to it. So the ambiance starts of not great. And then comes the food. There were baked good, but they were clearly not fresh; stale bread (nothing to slice yourself) old croissants etc. There were also no self-serve juices or drinks (not even carafes of ice water). There was yogurt, but it was was sugary mass-market packaged yogurt junk, not a big vat of plain and then flavored. They had serviceable breakfast sausage, but the bacon was that already-precoooked-and-then-mass-deep-fried-anyway variety (you know, where it comes out in big burnt clumps). There were absolutely zero cheeses or cured deli/charcuterie meats. No fish or asian options. Nothing mexican. Nothing novel. Nothing really ethnically/locally interesting at all. I gazed upon this dearth of culinary delights while I drank my disgusting boiling water coffee. Oh, and Pepsi products only, as the final kick in the groin. The best I can compare it to is if you took a Hampton Inn breakfast, and just scaled-up the quantity/choice of food. The low quality and mass production were the same. Really shoddy and sad for a city's premier hotel. I guess this is a testament to why you go to boutique hotels if you can. The only bright shining part was the gentleman, Miracle, who prepared my omelet. A delightful conversation with a skilled man making a perfect dish. The rest of the meal certainly couldn't be characterized as miraculous at all.

Did the buffet. They had a large selection to choose from and it was tasty. Great service and beautiful views!

From the lamb chops, scallops, Artic char and nice BIG ice cube in the Manhattan. ...all 6 of us were so pleased, we came back the second night. We sat in the back which was much more quiet and suited our post business day recap conversation. No kids. If you have a small event to plan, the patio was ....well....not what the marketing pictures look like....but once all the food was set up it was great. Joelle was our "Captain" and ran everything for my group of 45 like clockwork. I totally recommend this restaurant and it was nice to still be in the hotel and not feel like we were.
Amazing cuisine
We had such a terrific time at Marina Kitchen, Aubrey was absolutely fantastic! The vibe here was very warm and welcoming. I loved the P.S. Cocktail and quail, I can't recall having such a great meal in quite a while. I love the ambiance here and the view of the pool, so relaxing. The location is so convenient as it's located inside the Marriott Marquis. I had a really amazing experience here and look forward to coming back to enjoy their food again very soon.
