This is a terrific place for a ladies who shop and lunch!!! I always get the chicken salad and orange mousse.

Enjoyed lunch several times recently and both times found the service to be excellent and attentive and food very good. Modern Waldorf salad was a generous portion with crispy "just out of the pan" chicken. Loaded with apricots and dried fig, I could eat this every day for lunch. Sometimes there is a special cocktail and on one visit, I enjoyed a "Pink Buffalo" - a drink with Buffalo trace bourbon, port and other good things. Service is so nice - popover with strawberry butter and a bit of consommé is always offered at no charge and nice to enjoy while deciding on your order. On one visit, I had a shopping bag and garment bag and the hostess hung both items in a closet and gave me a coat check ticket. That is a nice touch. Ii will be back again and often. The ambience is calm and pretty with outside seating if you wish.

To a surprise, this Mahi Mahi succulence was spicy, crispy and elegantly presented with a wonderful service. A must place that makes worth visiting the shopping mall its located in.

went there few times, usually with special company, quite expensive for lunch (over $25+ a person) the food is good, service is excellent .. actually I only remember the bread rolls (yummy)

Grudgingly I ate at the Mariposa Restaurant located in the Nieman Marcus at the La Cantera Mall on the outskirts of San Antonio. Thought it would be overpriced and a ladies tea room. Wrong on both accounts (albeit not a bargain!!). The atmosphere was stylish and open with outdoor seating and the menu much more creative than expected. The tuna tartare was as good as any I've had and served elegantly. The soup and entrée were equally good. Watch the popovers with fruit flavored butter... they are not a dieters option! Worth a stop even if you are not with your wife!!

My wife invited her parents to join us for a holiday lunch at Neiman Marcus at La Cantera in San Antonio. We have had a many great meals at Neiman Marcus at NorthPark Mall in Dallas. Unfortunately, NM at La Cantera was not on top of their game. They were short staffed and service suffered. While the Popovers were right on, the rest of the food was average.

My wife and I visited this restaurant on Sunday afternoon while shopping at La Cantera. My wife has several allergy restrictions which she discussed with the chef prior to dining. He was most patient and helpful in explaining the menu. She had the salmon fillet entree, which was prepared to her specifications. I had the same and it was delicious. Their famous popovers, strawberry butter, and consomme, at the beginning of every meal is a wonderful tradition at Neiman Marcus. The chocolate mousse cake for dessert was outstanding. Bloody Mary's and the mimosa were most satisfying. Management and staff go out of their way to please. Full bar with a very nice wine selection to accompany any meal. A truly delightful place for lunch, 7 days a week. Highly recommended!

A classic place to eat & mingle with true friends that appreciate the atmosphere. Mariposa has been a favorite for years & always always is a must when in SA. It is a small area in a hidden corner but with the best service & fresh food.

I love the Tortilla Soup, the crab cake salad, the all natural burger, the grilled steak sandwich, just to name a few. The Popovers and the Strawberry Butter is always wonderful! Also the broth at the begining of the meal is never dissapointing!

Stopped for a quick bite to eat. What a treat it was. Service was exceptional. Not the biggest menu, but it was delicious. We were treated to a fresh popover and cup of chicken bone broth while waiting for our sandwich. The drink menu was outstanding, too. It was a memorable experience with my princess niece. Would go back in a heartbeat, although not something I could afford to do every week.

Having lunch at Mariposa is a great break from a day shopping. The food and service are as good as it is in a good restaurant. You are received with a beef consomé ( beef juice stew) as soon as you arrive. We had the quinoa spaguetti which to my surprise tasted exactly the same as a normal spaguetti, the spinach salad and the chicken focaccia. I asked to have avocado instead of peppers in the focaccia and it was very good. You will leave well rested, fed and with a chocolate mint they will give you ready for more shopping.

Restaurant with atmosphere for elderly people, the menu to drink or eat something while you are in the square is fine, the bathrooms clean.

Beautiful place and convenient. Not a great place to eat. Food just OK. Quite expensive. Nice and attentive service.

This restaurant is tucked away in the corner of the second floor of Neiman's. While not easy to find, it is quite different from the typical restaurants scattered throughout the Shops at La Cantera. It has both indoor and outdoor seating. Chose outside on a nice day and you will have great views of the roller coaster rides peaking over the rim of Fiesta Texas. The meal starts with a tasting of chicken broth that is so good it is like having a roasted chicken in a small cup. Then comes their signature bread, the popover. It was well prepared but was served cold. Eating a hot popover is a memorable experience, a cold one is just okay. The food is upscale lunch fare with many diet conscious offerings, which, rightfully so, is geared toward the majority of their customers, women. Notwithstanding, it has one of the best burgers in the area; fresh prepared beef with caramelized onions and fresh produce. The chicken dish was perfectly prepared and delicious. Service was good, but could have been better as we did have ask for refills on tea.

The food is excellent. The chicken broth and "bread" are over the top. I could just have this and champagne. Check the hours.. With COVID they are not always open. I have been coming here for years and you will be very satisfied with your meal and the atmosphere.

Even though this place is very expensive the food and atmosphere are always wonderful. I love the strawberry popover that is served fresh and hot shortly after seating. I ordered the shrimp scampi and thoroughly enjoyed it. The service is usually very good; our waiter was friendly enough but kept disappearing on us. Other than that, all was great.

This is our "go to" place when I want to treat my special niece to a lunch that makes her feel like a Princess. Although the menu is rather limited, the ambiance and service can make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich taste good. The alcoholic drinks were very overpriced for the size of the glass and quantity of the ice, but hey, it was a special lunch.

This is the perfect restaurant to eat at before you start shopping. The waiters are friendly, the drinks are excellent, and the menu items were delicious. I also found out that you can drink while shopping - it does't get any better than that!

The wait staff and the setting of this restaurant, though hidden in the back corner of Neiman's, is very bright & pretty. A very disappointing turkey club sandwich = stale, hard chips accompanied a very dried - out 20.00 small turkey offering, teeny avocado & a thin slice of tomato. 3++ dollars for ice tea. A pretty setting......but avoid dry sandwiches. My guest's chicken sandwich, served with a couple leaves of lettuce was also non-descript and too dry to finish. WOW!
