Wow - great Indian food and wonderful owners

By DubHub |

The menu is sparse, mostly Vegan - with wonderful flavors, Naan, great wine and very nice owners who took a gamble and won in Mount Shasta.

Many things to taste!

By JNE5 |

From the appetizers to the salads and the main dishes, my friends and I enjoyed our dinner at this vegetarian Indian restaurant. I have tasted better Naan bread, but it was acceptable.

Double Rainbow

By Spunkie777 |

Back in September 2014, my girlfriend and i were hoping for (but not expecting) authentic Indian cuisine in a pleasant restaurant after a day of hiking on Mt. Shasta. And we were pleasantly surprised, along with a view of a double rainbow above the mountain! The atmosphere was warm and pleasant, as was the service. Looking forward to a return visit some day; highly recommended!

Very good night out

By doneman1 |

The menu appears to be authentic Indian cuisine. Expect to experience a lot of unfamiliar flavors. It is a good place to order a variety of small plates to sample as many flavors as possible. Service was attentive and informative.

EVERYTHING WE TRIED AT MARUTI WAS SOOO INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS!!!

By julievida |

Went over Labor day weekend without a reservation and was treated so beautifully. When we arrived was offered complimentary wine while we waited for a table, which came very quickly. The nice waitress brought us samples of 2 entrees to try which we thought was an ingenious idea that other resteraunts should do! Then when I inquired about another entree she brought us a sample of that too. WOW! Cant go wrong with anything here the food is GREAT and service 5*!

Great food, plenty of vegan options

By Lukas F |

The Tikka Masala was excellent! Very friendly staff, great desserts, authentic indian cuisine. Wonderful place, would go again.

Just perfect

By Lucipara |

This restaurant is moving to Portland at the end of August, lucky Portlanders. A simple menu with the best dishes, good California wine, local beer, and a half hour wait, testimony to the quality of the food. Best thing during our short visit to the region

Small seating area but wonderful selection of Indian food.

By iowavisitor2015 |

The only downside to our lunch-time visit was the slight wait because they didn't open quite on schedule. Otherwise, although it's a small seating area, there was a wonderful selection of Indian food. All you could eat, so very filling.

Worth a stop!

By UNR91 |

We love Indian food and agree, this is one of our all time favorites! We stopped on a road trip and we're delighted to find this healthy vegetarian option! Each dish was beautifully seasoned and presented. Our hostess was personable and friendly and her husband, the chef made a brief appearance in the dining room.

Quality lost in attempt to be trendy

By rands23 |

I have Indian food about twice a week so i feel i have a good basic knowledge of how it should taste. I was excited to go here but left very disappointed, It was just ok. The place feels like it is trying so hard to be trendy that they have lot track of the food itself. Very overpriced for the quality of food you get. Service was very good though.

Miss the Samosas already

By ginger c |

Love the food! Staff is informative and helpful. Food is deliciously seasoned. Great channa masala, subji and samosas!

One of the best Indian meals I've eaten!

By casjf |

I can't believe this restaurant is in Mount Shasta -- one of the best Indian restaurants I've tried, and I live in the San Francisco Bay Area where there are lots of good Indian restaurants. In fact at least one of the owners worked at an Indian restaurant in San Francisco before moving to Mount Shasta. This restaurant deserves to succeed. And indeed, having guests certainly did not seem to be a problem on the August Saturday night we were there. The large outside patio was completely full when we arrived and the large main restaurant was quickly filling up. On a weekend in the summer you may want to make a reservation if you prefer to sit outside. For a starter, we split the east-west buckwheat salad, which was a delicious combination of fresh garden vegetables and buckwheat. For dinner we shared the Palak Paneer (Indian cheese with spinach in a ginger-garlic sauce) and Baingan Bharta (smoked eggplant cooked in an aromatic spices). If you don't like spicy foods, be aware that at least in the case of the Baingan Bharta, the dish has not been made milder for American palates. We loved it though -- very spicy and flavorful. The garlic naan was also delicious and even the rice seemed tastier than at other Indian restaurants I have visited. Both imported Indian beers and even imported Indian wine is served. I tried the Pacific Rim white wine since it was listed on the menu as the owner's personal favorite. As the menu said, it was a great complement to the spicy dishes. The décor is lovely and the service, attentive. I will definitely be back next time I'm in Mount Shasta.

Fantastic

By Frank P |

Ate in the Portland airport from their foid truck. WOW the food is outstanding. Masala is best I ever had. Served with cheeze. For me first time w/o chicken. Loved it. You must try. I am not a big indian food guy but this was the best.

Best Indian Food Ever!

By KatherineMMedford |

My husband and I had a fantastic dinner at Maruti at the previous location in Shasta, California last summer. We learned they were closing and moving to Portland and I'm so excited to revisit the amazing cuisine during my visits to the 'Buckman' area over the next couple of months! The mung bean salad was incredible and I'm still hoping to recreate it at home. The tikka, korma and pappadam, along with everything we tasted still lingers in my memory. Lots of talent and love in this cuisine! So excited they are open in Portland!

Vegetarian Indian restaurant with a view of Shasta

By JavaBeansAdvisor |

We were hesitant at first to try this unassuming vegetarian Indian restaurant. Our experiences with most Indian restaurants is that the food tends to be over-spiced. However, we were pleasantly surprised at the subtle flavor of our dishes at Maruti. We tried the Vegetable Biryani, Palak Paneer and Khichadi. All were delicious with good portion sizes. In fact, there was enough Biryani for the three of us with leftovers. The Garlic Naan bread was also heavenly. Ask to sit by the window so that you can see Shasta while you dine.

Great meal!

By Rachel |

We were somewhat skeptical of the veggie/vegan aspect but it was fantastic! The paneer kabob (a special) was fantastic and the mushroom tikki masala (dairy version) was a show stopper. The service was also good - a very warm and friendly place to have a meal.

Indian Food

By Vegan_Hiker |

We only stayed one night in this area, so I have no idea how this restaurant compares to others in town. I like Indian food and the dishes were OK, but I felt that they all tasted the same. . Perhaps we ordered dishes that were too similar, but I think our waitress could have suggested we order something else if this were true. One of our orders was a kale dish and the kale was very tough and hard to chew. The kale itself should have been prepared better. The atmosphere was more pretentious than authentic Indian. I personally do not like restaurants that make you feel bad for not ordering a wine. My glass was taken away from me, since only my partner ordered wine. Again - this restaurant may be exceptional compared to the other choices in Shasta, but we were disappointed after reading the rave reviews on TripAdvisor

Great place for India Food

By surenmehta |

We visited them for dinner , though due to long waiting time we could not have dinner there , Owner was very forthcoming and will to provide Jain food as per our need if we come after some time. They called next day morning again to find if we will like to come for Lunch which we could not make it. Restaurant have very good ambiance in in door and out door setting

The most incredible restaurant... period!

By Naveen K |

This truly is the most incredible restaurant !!! This is a super ling due review. We have never had service like before. It was simple the most beautiful thing ever: they were so upfront at the beginning to make us comfortable to let us know if we did not like anything, we can change out for something else. And everything is cooked with so much love and care,,, and chanting. Above all, the whole team eats together after it is over. It is an jewel in the enchanting Mount Shasta... but the people who run it and own it are the real pearls. Ask them how and why they named it, how does the cook maintain such good vibrations in the kitchen... it is fascinating.

Delicious!!!

By 245Quigley__ |

I love to eat at this restaurant...everything about eating here is perfect. Definitely the best place to eat dinner in Mt. Shasta...give it a try and you won't be disappointed...just wish it was open for dining in for lunch...

Culinary treat

By Fredrica P |

This was the best Indian food I have had in a restaurant. Subtle flavors and not greasy. Lots of samples to help you decide what to order. Lovely outdoor dining under the trees on a deck. Not noisy and very friendly service. Very reasonably priced. I will return whenever I pass through, which is twice each summer.

Excellent Vegetarian

By bctahoe75 |

I am not vegetarian but with the spice of Indian food I am fine. This place is really good...you won't be disappointed....recommended by several locals....I was quite impressed!

Amazing!

By Cute old couple |

Read TripAdvisor reviews and decided to take a chance. We tried several dishes and loved them all! Our favorites were the mung bean salad and the smoked eggplant dish, both gluten free and vegan. I had the mango sherbet ( my wife is dairy intolerant) and it too was wonderful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The decor was quite sophisticated for a "mountain town". Well worth a drive from Southern Oregon.

Incredible food and even nicer people

By Henry S |

It was kid friendly too with an amazing kids menu. The food and service was top notch. I can't wait to go back. :-)

Good Indian Food

By pjg3sr |

Maruti does not take reservations (first come, first served), and is often crowded, with considerable waiting time. Food was good, but a little overly spiced to our tastes, service was good and efficient and pleasant. Outdoor dining area plus.

Authentic Vegetarian Food Made from scratch

By Eatingman1 |

Our second attempt to visit the restaurant and had to wait 40 minutes prior get the table. Simple menu choices, food tastes excellent. One could feel the freshness in food. Maruti restaurant stands out in very few authentic (made from scratch) Indian restaurants in US.

Amazing food, highly recommended!!!

By Chirag M |

The food at Maruti Restaurant is amazing! I'm a vegetarian and it's such a treat to have an incredible array of tasty dishes to chose from. Everything is so flavoursome, is presented nicely, has a variety of textures and has a good kick. The service is also really good and smiley. The atmosphere is awesome with a picturesque view. A must visit for couples, families, friends and all ages!!!!

Excellent vegetarian and vegan restaurant with friendly owners!

By Kikidee_12 |

My husband and I ate here yesterday evening. Maruti is located where Bombay Cricket Club restaurant used to be. I think it has been open for only a couple of months. The place has been brightened up with fresh decor and looks more spacious than before. The new owners are very friendly and courteous! Falguni (we met her baby too) manages the restaurant and her husband is the chef. They cater to vegetarians and vegans and use local, non GMO products. We ordered Samosa Chana for appetiser, and Palak Aloo and Mushroom Tikka for main course. The portions are generous. We were thinking of packing the leftovers to go, but ended up eating them instead because everything was so delicious! I have always found the best Indian restaurants are in England. It turns out our chef at Maruti lived in England! The only drawback was there was some wait time. But the food was well worth the wait! It would be wise to book ahead if they take reservations. Also be aware that Maruti currently opens at 5pm and closes at 9pm (at least on Saturday when we went). I highly recommend giving it a try!

Lovely Indian Food

By astridjj |

I cook my own Indian food, and I'm pretty good at it, so I know this is wonderful Indian food. The palak paneer and the mung dal were delicious and comforting. I took it back to the adorable motel where we were staying and had it in the little kitchen. It was a heavenly experience right there in view of Mount Shasta. It's more than just a nice Indian meal - it is comforting vegetarian food after a long drive with terrible food along the way from Sacramento. It's a healing stop and I highly recommend it.

Delightful Indian Vegetarian Restaurant

By Sunil |

Very good if you like Indian vegetarian food. Friendly staff. Very busy - make reservations. We went Monday night and waited for 30 minutes. Closed on Tuesdays. Unfortunately, they ran out of rice. So, no biryanis when we went. Tried the other dishes and they were tasty (asked that they make it spicy which they did).

Best meal in Mt. Shasta

By auntiedots |

This was delicious authentic Indian food and the owners were very nice and helpful. They gave free tastes of wine and their sauces to try before ordering. Ask them what their favorite dishes are and take their advice.

Owners that care about the customers experience!

By Lauren B |

My friend and I were visiting Mt Shasta, and this was my FIRST Indian food experience! The food was absolutely delicious and so flavorful. The owner found out it was my first time, and took the time to make sure I truly enjoyed the flavor combinations, and had genuine concern for our experience and satisfaction. To top it off, I left my Rayban sunglasses there on accident and had to leave before they opened again for home...she took them to the post office right away to mail them to me! High class food and high class people. I hope to be returning here soon!

yummy Owners are welcoming and the Indian food was VERY GOOD

By Laura W |

Not much on the menu. But everything we tried was from fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection. WE WILL RETURN

Absolutely incredible!

By Mike S |

Great food, excellent service, and a welcoming environment make this a must visit restaurant. This just became my family's favorite restaurant in NorCal.

Vegetarian Heaven!

By Deborah G |

Maruti is sophisticated, enlightened, health conscious Hindu food. True to their religious tradition, they do not serve any meat. All the food is cooked according to auravedic health priciples out of quality ingredients with pure spiritual intent. When it comes to vegetarian cooking, Hindu's wrote the book on it. The restaurant is all of 10 minutes off of Interstate 5. If you are vegetarian, and even if you are not, and I am not, this place is a must stop.

Very friendly

By Olaf A |

We came late, and a few items were sold out. But the food was very well made, with the right spices, and inventive -- I do not believe kale is a staple in India. The wine list is short but excellent and moderately priced. The service is excellent.

Owners treat you like you are family; clean, delicious food

By aeolian_nomad |

I've eaten here often - always a good experience. Ever since becoming locals, if we want a treat, this is where we go. Owners and staff are extremely attentive and unfailingly kind. The food is very clean, fresh, and tasty. I love Maruti's.

Excellent vegetarian indian

By Richard S |

We didn’t realise that this restaurant was vegetarian/vegan, but we were not disappointed. We particularly enjoyed the vegetation tikka. The drink list was short but interesting with a couple of local beers too.

An experience of India - wonderful atmosphere, kindness and superb cuisine made with Bhakti!!

By Mridula108 |

i found this gem one block from Mt Shasta blvd moments after it closed! They welcomed me and treated me like a queen.. After a long day driving to sacred sites that were closed. Everything is fresh - made without GMOs - with awareness. A perfect complement to the powerful presence of Mt. Shasta.. A divine meal!

the best Indian food!

By Suz |

This is the best Indian food in Portland! Everything is delicious! The sprout salad and the mushroom tikka masala are stand-outs! A lot of Indian restaurants have come and gone over the years- I hope Maruti stays forever!

Delicious Food and Great Service

By JSD53 |

The food is vegan/vegetarian Indian and is cooked to perfection. The Pakora appetizer was delicious as was the apple avocado salad. There were 3 of us and we split the Biryani and the Tiki Masala and it was more than enough. We left with a meal to go! The server was knowledgeable and very attentive, made the dining experience more special. Everything was excellent!

Excellent food and service.

By KnitVallejo |

I was a little disappointed because I wanted Indian Curry chicken however, the menu and dishes were very good. Our waitress was fantastic. Over all we would go back again.

Simply Amazing

By michaelramos1 |

I am a touring musician and I try to seek out great places to eat while I'm out on the road. Found this place here on TA. The place is run by a husband/wife team. She came by our table to make sure we loved the food several times even though the place was packed. The food is more home style Indian cuisine than most Indian food places I've eaten (I eat Indian food as often as possible on the road). It was fabulous. My dinner partner had the Biryani Mushroom dish and he said it was the best Indian food dish he has ever had.

Terrific, fresh home cooked Indian Food!

By terry r |

I love Indian food. Especially when you can taste the fresh spices and subtleties of Indian fare. The place is casual, comfortable, great wait staff. For those who are gluten free, many items also gluten free. I didn't miss the meat for a minute. Can't wait to go back.

Incredible! Maruti creates excellent Indian Cuisine AND caters to Vegetarian and Gluten Free lifestyles!

By TamKatzin |

First, I am a big fan of Eastern Indian cuisine. I say this because I have traveled extensively for work and have had the opportunity to enjoy many a dish from hundreds of restaurants around the country. While I am vegan and gluten free, I have been thrilled that these options exist at Maruti ... however, I have to say that my meat and wheat eating friends have enjoyed their meals just as much as I. Hands down, Maruti has been on the top of my list and I would highly recommend to anyone for an incredibly delicious meal ... which, lucky for all of us, happens to be healthier as well. My only wish is that they were in Seattle as well as Portland. Can't wait to get back!

You Must Try Maruti

By rwiller |

We held a wedding rehearsal dinner at Maruti in September. The food and service were outstanding and the owners (Falguni and Rhudra) were so friendly and accomodating. They have a passion for their customers and the food that they present. An outstanding experience for our very special occasion!

Too limited

By Tour04087946682 |

Food was good , some was very good, very limited menu and Palak Paneer was not of my dream quality. The dahl was excellent

Delightfully tasty

By D V |

We read the most recent reviews, which were mostly positive with a few less satisfied as well...So we entered with cautious enthusiasm. Such a delightful setting - intimate and bright. The manager's exuberance is infectious and her expectation of good service is clear. We enjoyed chai (no sugar - how wonderful!), mango lassi (tonight with fresh persimmons too), Baingan Bharta (spicy eggplant dish) and Paneer & Vegetable Biryani (mild). We are gluten free, so no naan, sadly - folks at other tables were raving about it. The prices are reasonable and the portions generous. We'd be glad to go again.

A Sacred & Delicious Veg Experience in the Heart of Portland

By Liam NaanstopVeg |

If you’re visiting Portland and love vegetarian or vegan food — Maruti is a must. Nestled in the fun, walkable Hawthorne district, this place offers a peaceful, temple-like atmosphere and some of the best Indian food I’ve had outside of India. We went for a birthday dinner and ordered a mix of Aloo Gobi, Palak Saag, Khichdi, vegan Chik’n Tikka Masala, and gluten-free garlic naan. Everything was fresh, vibrant, and clearly made with love. The chutneys alone could be a whole meal — from mint to mango to coconut yogurt. Service was warm and personal. The co-founder even brought out a surprise vegan cardamom kheer to celebrate with us. You don’t get that kind of care every day. Whether you’re vegan, gluten-free, or just want an honest, nourishing meal, Maruti delivers. A hidden gem for travelers who like their meals with meaning, music, and masala.

Maruti-THE SPICE OF LIFE

By Namaskaramleela |

Following an exhausting trip originating near Detroit, Michigan beginning at 5:00 a.m. and finally arriving in Mt. Shasta at 5:30p.m. we ordered take out items from the menu. The dinner items did not disappoint and we were soon off to our accomodation with great Indian cuisine. Unfortunately, our stay was too brief to dine in or enjoy the beautiful patio. Maruti's will be our only restaurant next visit!

A wonderful treat

By Peggy O |

Just had a wonderful meal from Maruti. Wonderful spicy vegan food. Excellent phone service. They happily put the food outside for my son to pickup when he arrived. It is so nice to get excellent food despite the quarantine

Awesome from start to finish

By Fabien |

We found this place by chance as it was our first night in the area. We were unprepared by the fine quality of the welcome we received and the high quality of the dishes. I have come all the way from England and wasn't ready to find the best Indian restaurant in a far flung province of Northern California! Amazing, highly recommended!

Quick stop, delicious food

By Pierro3816 |

Fresh, healthy vegetarian Indian. Yum. Easy on off to I5. Friendly, efficient service. Charming decor. Highly recommend.

Little bites of heaven!

By NamrathaRao |

The minute you walk into the restaurant, the aroma of the fresh garlic naan hits you, and if you weren't hungry before, the smell will get your digestive juices going and you'll surely want to dig into the scrumptious food that Maruthi offers. I've been here twice. The first time was in Feb 2016. I was so impressed by the garlic naan and the paneer tikka masala, that I promised Falguni that I'd make a trip to Mt. Shasta just for the opportunity to dine at her restaurant once more. The food, as I told her, was the best I've eaten in all of the U.S.of A. And so, I waited 3 whole months to make the trip from East Bay area to Mt. Shasta. It was probably bad timing because the memorial day weekend that we visited the restaurant on, saw the restaurant packed to the rafters with patrons. Unfortunately for my group, despite reaching 30 min before closing time, we, along with a bunch of other people waiting to be seated, were asked to leave, as there were already too many people waiting to be seated. Falguni apologetically told us to come the next day, and try to come early so that we wouldn't have to wait too long. So, we went back the next evening, 20 min after the place opened, and yet we had to wait half an hour for our table. If that doesn't tell you how good this place is, I don't know what will. :) Once again, the garlic naan and paneer tikka masala were amazing. The rasmalai was out of the world! Hubby and mom licked the bowl clean. Just kidding, they didn't. But I'm sure they were tempted to. The Biryani was good, too. While I loved it, my family weren't terribly impressed. Mom felt that the spices needed to have blended in more. The palak was tasty but way too oily, so we didn't touch it. The idly fries were ok. I just want to say that Maruthi is the best restaurant I've been to and should you decide to try it out, you are in for a treat.

I was skeptical. Now I'm totally converted.

By sophiarosehips |

I am not a vegetarian and not, generally, a big fan of Indian food. Or at least, the latter was true before I ate at Maruti Restaurant. Oh. My. Goodness. These people do things with spices that blew my mind. It was toe-curling. You have to be a little adventurous, willing to try something you've never tried before, but if you do make that leap, you will be so happy you did. In addition, the staff was helpful and gracious and the decor was lovely. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Great vegan/veg Indian food!

By njhassinger |

This place was delicious overall, everything we got was great. They have a great option for gluten free/vegan naan. Yum!

I would drive out of my way to get to this restaurant.

By Richard B |

OMG! This was the best part of our stay-over in Mount Shasta City. Not only does it stare directly at the spectacular Mount Shasta (this day covered with a glorious blanket of fresh snow), but it was the bright spot of a town that seems to exist solely because of the nearby ski resort. The service is unexpected and warming. The aroma in the restaurant is Indian decadence. The owners are culinary trained and treat every guest as family or as their menu describes, as God's! This means they want us happy and satisfied and it shows. This restaurant is the experience we all crave for. The evening that we all expect. And the passion-driven business we rarely see. But the most amazing part about this is the food. OMG the flavors, the combinations, the inventiveness, and the flavors...did I already say flavors? Seriously good food. Seriously great dining experience. Seriously, drive a few extra miles to get to this restaurant.

Amazing Vegan Tikka Masala

By Asger N |

Without a doubt the best tikka masala I’ve ever had! Had their vegan version and it was absolutely delightful. Smiled all the way through the meal. Big portions too, so you won’t go home hungry. TRY IT!

Good Indian Food

By Mukundha M |

Very good Indian restaurant at Mt Shasta, Food was excellent, service was good. I would recommend it!

Food with Life force

By Peggy R |

I've eaten at Maruti's many times and I have never been disappointed. I like mild Indian food and there is plenty to choose from. And if you like it spicy, they have that too. Everything is made with attention. The portions may not be as large as you are used to, but you will leave content and whole. Great beers on tap and there is wine if you like. They also have take-out lunch boxes (usually 2 choices) on some days but check with them for the details.

Delicious food! Wonderful staff!

By Ann P |

This is a really good choice for eating in Mt. Shasta, CA. We were a group of 6 and all of us thought the food was delicious. The price was reasonable and the food came promptly.

A welcome and much needed addition to the dining scene in Shasta

By Darlingdolly |

Fantastic fresh indian food totally vegetarian, what a wonderful surprise. We had driven in from San Francisco, four Australians tired and hungry and what a treat. Best garlic naan ever (and i have eaten at many Indian restaurants around the globe) delicious samosas with delicate light pastry, yummy home made mint sauce with a kick and homemade tamarind and chilli sauce to die for. Complimentary home made papadam to start. Mains were great except for the daal which we found a bit watery. A must visit when you pass through this way. Extremely good service and very reasonable prices both food and wine. We will be dining here a lot whilst in the area! Dining out on the deck with the view of Mt Shasta really tops it off!

Must have been an off-night

By Ranke |

I like Indian food very much, but Maruti didn't live up to the rave reviews - unless folks in this small town are thankful just to have a break from the usual rural fare, and so produce grade inflation. (Or do vegetarian restaurants enjoy a rating premium for ideological reasons?) In any case, my lentil entree was peppery, but without much else in the way of traditional Indian taste; the garlic nan was tough and chewy and overdid the raw garlic. If you find yourself in Mount Shasta and want some Indian food, you'll still wind up here, but I doubt this place would survive amidst other Indian eateries in a more competitive environment (unless, as noted above, I just hit it on an off-night).

Absolutely incredible food!!

By Alissa F |

This was a wonderful spot…all the dishes we tried were outstanding, such as the daal, tikka masala, and palak paneer. Our waitress was lovely and very kind. They even shared a delicious dessert with us, kheer, which I especially enjoyed and it was so generous of them! Wish I lived in Portland, I would come here all the time!

Awesome!!

By shastamountinn |

The food, the view of the mountain, the wait staff if helpful and caring. the owners are what makes this place, they make you feel like your the most important people in the Restaurant. Please do not pass this up when your in Mt Shasta!

Monday dinner

By David N |

Vegetarian restaurant, although we aren't. Limited Indian menu but wonderful flavors. We will go back again. Unfortunately closing Aug 22. Owner pregnant wants time off. Probably to reopen in Portland. First time I've had a beer from India!

A nice new restaurant in Mt Shasta, check it out!

By GetMeOutaDodge |

Delicious Indian food, all vegetarian, but don't let that scare you away, it's very good! There are many vegan and gluten-free options as well. My friend and I dined outside on the deck, it was a nice place and the service was top-notch. Good wine list too! All in all, an excellent restaurant, I'll definitely go back.

Fabulous Vegetarian Indian Cuisine!

By Linda L |

You don't want to miss this restaurant if you love Indian cooking. Everything was great! You have a large selection to choose from, from the "small plate" mixes to the entrees that include rice. Bread is extra, but SO worth it, we had the garlic naan...delicious! Flavors were lush, the spices nicely balanced. We had the Palak Paneer and Aloo Bell Pepper entrees. Both were really good, the veggies cooked just right, not too firm, not too soft. The only average here was the Mango sorbet for dessert. OK, but we could taste no spices so it just tasted like frozen mangoes. Staff was friendly and the atmosphere pleasant, light and airy. Tip: if you want to dine outside at opening on Saturday (5:30) you will need reservations!

Exceptional Indian Food

By Pamfleminghoran |

What a treat! Whether you are someone who loves Indian food or would like to try it, don't miss Maruti. Wonderful food and service. We had the Paneer Tikka Masala and Rajmah. Lovely husband and wife who make you feel like you are having dinner at their home. Reasonably priced. Don't miss!

An unexpected pleasure in Mount Shasta!

By fritos4me |

after a full day of sight seeing and driving we arrived in Mount Shasta and decided to have Indian food at Maruti. it was a mildish eve for early May and there were several parties seated on the outside deck but we decided to stay inside. they start you out with some nice tastes of 4 sauces with pappadam.....all very different and delicious. they were offering a taste of a red and a white wine by the glass that night: the red was SAVED - 2012 - and was exceptional. We ordered the Bhel Puri: a puffed rice salad that was mixed with potato, red onion, cilantro, tomato in a tamarind/cilantro chutney. The flavors and texture were intriguing ...... flavorful but not too spicy / hot. The portion was good for two of us .... we also got the evening special Biryani - a combination of several of the biryanis and then some. It came in a deep bowl that we also shared ....... mushrooms, almonds and other vegetables adorned the rice. the Biryani was accompanied by a house made raita (yoghurt). Very tasty ..... we were very happy by now and quite satisfied. The mango lassi was smooth, sweet and with a bit of acid from the house made yoghurt - good on its own and to smooth out the various flavors of the food. We decided to try some desserts although we were quite satisfied ....... the mango sorbet and the donuts in rosewater syrup. the mango sorbet is made by freezing the mango lassi but it freezes hard and is not as interesting as the lassi drink. the donut came in a shallow dish of syrup that was too sweet for my taste: a bit one dimensional. We were still thrilled to discover these exciting flavors in Mount Shasta but would be more cautious in approaching the desserts. The servers were very helpful and we had an opportunity to chat with the owners/chef as well.

Great Surprise

By Calmhawk |

We walked in thinking it is still the sushi place. We stayed to give it a chance. Very good appetizers, great bartender, and good main dishes. We left satisfied.

India coes to Mt. Shasta!

By Marta B |

Lovely outdoor dining, excellent Indian vegetarian food, with an interesting wine list, including some Syrah from India.

Our favorite Indian restaurant!

By Page J |

We've eaten at a lot of Indian restaurants in Portland, as well other cities and even other countries. Maruti is by far our favorite, and it is completely vegetarian/vegan! I am a meat eater, but I love this restaurant... I don't miss the meat at all! Some of our favorite dishes include their famous Tikka Masala with paneer, potatoes or mushrooms (they make a vegan version too), the apple mango avocado salad, vegetable biryani, palak paneer, garlic naan, and I could go on and on. Everything we've tried is scrumptious! The service is friendly and they are open for dinner every day but Tuesdays. It's our favorite place to meet friends for dinner in Portland!

Great food in a lovely setting

By Elizabeth B |

So happy there is now good Indian food in Mt Shasta! The owners are on site, working hard alongside their capable staff to give personalized, friendly service to all customers. Restaurant is completely vegetarian. Menu has good options---my favorites are the samosas, palak paneer, and the homemade kheer dessert---delicious. One note: rice is not served with your meal, you need to order separately and pay extra for it. This is normal for India, not so typical in California. They are also starting a brunch menu on weekends, which seems to be still evolving. Owners and staff very open to questions and suggestions. Oh yes, sit outside for a lovely view of Mt Shasta from their comfy patio.

Creative Indian in nice atmosphere.

Wonderful creative versions of traditional Indian with a twist. Upscale, beautiful presentation, satisfying, refined differentiation of spices and ingredients not normally found in Indian. Excellent wine selections. Highly recommend this place.

Healthy and Very Good

Atmosphere is very nice whether eating inside or on the large deck. They strive to use natural, healthy ingredients prepared in the Ayurvedic tradition. The owners are very nice and the food is very good.

Not an authentic Indian restaurant

By Supriya H |

My husband and I were driving through Portland and were craving some good Indian food. We read reviews about Maruti and decided to give it a try. However, we were truly disappointed. The seating arrangement was rediculously tight, tables too close to each other. We ordered the samosa chole, baingan bharta and garlic naan. The food was not authentic at all, lacked spices and salt. The staff was not verynfriendly either. It left a bad taste in our mouth. We left very unhappy.

Delicious Indian food

By ORMum |

We went to Maruti for dinner recently, and we were delighted with the food. Service was friendly and fast. We ordered veggie tikka masala, palak paneer and garlic naan. Both dishes were excellent, and came with a side order of rice, which was very well made and flavorful too. The garlic naan was delicious! This is definitely going to be our go-to restaurant for vegetarian Indian food.

Portions could be bigger!

This is a wonderful Indian restaurant in Mount Shasta love their food love the service love their enthusiasm but the portions could be bigger.

Vegetarian Indian in a lovely setting, lovingly prepared

By SPBSanFrancisco |

Our family loves Indian food, so had to sample this food. We found it aromatic and delicate, clean and great for a vegatarian and/or fasting palette. Like the town, this food is spiritual. However, we are enthusiasts of the rich savory spices flavors and meat we are treated to in San Francisco bay area, so this food was not our favorite. Nonetheless, it had a gorgeous presentation, the staff and owner were warm and caring, and I would go to this food if I were (as I have in the past) looking for nurturing clean and spiritual food. It has the gentleness and grace of the scent of flowers on a river. Divine and refined.

Take out order

By jagjeet s |

Good food , we took take out , wish we ate it in the restaurant.Next time we will try to make reservation and eat at the restaurant.Place does not look decorated pretty new but food is what matters and it was really good food. Keep it up the good work.

Excellent food- a la carte-expensive

We were there in Jun. Come to Seattle, Maruthi - we don't have great vegetarian restaurants in this area.

Fresh for Foodies

By Wryeyes |

En route back from Portland, Oregon, a mecca for quality "farm to table," organic, high standards foods, our family was nervous about what we would find to eat in Mt Shasta. We were happy (and grateful to fellow Yelpers) to find Maruti Restaurant, a brand new restaurant, which did not disappoint. You can't go wrong if you're a seasoned foodie or if you're new to Indian food. I got the sense that if guests needed help choosing what to eat, the staff would guide without judgment. The food was excellent: fresh, flavorful ingredients, with perfectly spiced indian dishes--not overwhelming, nor greasy. The owners were extremely welcoming and hospitable, sharing a taste of their mango lassi with our family of 4 and going out of their way to make extra garlic naan, even as the kitchen was closing. We discovered that the new owners had only opened 2 weeks previously--having uprooted from San Francisco to make their mark: they will!

First time for me.

By Michparis |

I am not a vegetarian nor a vegan however I liked the food I ordered. The owner Falguni was absolutely delightful and went along with me being from another "planet". My friend has mobility issues and the wait was about 15 minutes and no place to sit, when I shared with Falguni the problem, she made sure that a seat was available at the counter right away until our table was ready.Smaller restaurant with a loft, best to reserve.

Tasty food

By Aarthi R |

Loved this place. There was a huge wait as this is only one good Indian place nearby. They don't accept reservations . The food was good. The samosa chole was tasty. They give you a sampler of their curry so we get to choose from the tikka masala or palak. The naan was too good, very soft. The biriyani was okay not that great. But the curries were good. Definitely a very good place. Would recommend going early on long weekends as they tend to get full and since they prepare food fresh every morning they can run out of food. Excellent people who served us, very pleasant and courteous. They have a our odor and patio seating as well and has a good view of the snow capped mountains.

Very good vegetarian food, great service.

By Murali_mk |

We visited in the end of March, on a Saturday at 8PM. Wasn’t too crowded and just a couple of tables occupied. Probably it was late in the evening. There is no dedicated parking and have to use the street side parking on the opposite of the road. Food was very good. We ordered naan, a vegetable curry, rice and kichdi. Everything we ordered were delicious. They made it a point to come over and check if the food was okay or if anything had to be changed. The husband and wife owners were there too along with their kid and were making sure everyone ate they wanted and liked what they ate. Overall, loved the place and will look forward to visit again.

An unexpected treat

By iandcl |

Very good vegetarian Indian food. Short but varied menu with something for everyone. Even the most ardent carnivore would not be disappointed. Run by pleasant young couple.

what a surprise!

By Ann W |

who would have thought that I would eat the best Indian food I have ever tasted at a little spot in Mt Shasta. had to wait a little bit but it was worth it. great service! If you are going to eat out make this your first stop!

BEST Indian food I have ever had! - Bahut Acha!

By Rik V |

The briyani was wonderful and had the best chicken tikka masala I've ever! The chai was super delish and fresh (as was everything else we enjoyed here). The seating arrangement is super friendly, promoting warm community in a style that is VERY Cascadia. Total strangers and I ended up sharing portions off of each others tables as the servings were ginormous and soooo, so flavorful! I cannot wait to go back, now. Tarboush used to be my favorite restaurant on Hawthorne. Now my fave is Maruti! <3 Pure love to the family that owns this place!

new experience

By Gregg G |

We let the staff select for our group. So we tried many dishes, good selection of wines, wonderful deserts. This is why we come to taste authentic dishes we cannot cook at home.

Best dining choice in My Shasta

By Kathryn B |

When people ask me about local restaurants, I usually remind them that this is not the Bay Area and dining options can't really compare. This all changed when Maruti Indian Restaurant opened. Maruti's food can compete with any food anywhere. The food is excellent, the ingredients are fresh, the seasoning and presentation are near perfect. On top of that, the prices are incredibly reasonable ($12 for an entree) and the staff is pleasant and attentive. We ate here on our anniversary and they surprised us with a freshly made, tasty cardamom dessert, which was such a nice way to end our dinner. Treat yourself to a good experience, eat at Maruti.

Craving more!

By Chanda B |

I've been wanting to try Maruti for a while now, and I am so glad I finally did! The food was amazing ~some of the best Indian food I've ever had. Incredibly fresh tasting. We had the onion & potato pakoras, the tikka masala with potatoes and my husband had the paneer biryani, although I'm vegan, so picked around the paneer. We had some leftovers to take home, and I had it for breakfast the next morning. Left me craving more right away!

Top notch service and food

By Sightseer313562 |

Went there on Christmas eve on last second reservations. They were able to fit us in even though they were very busy. All the wait staff we talked were very courteous and knowledgeable of the menu. The atmosphere of the dining room was nice and quaint. Everything we ordered was delicious, the spices balanced nicely. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who loves Indian food.

Very disappointing ...

By Harry B |

We called ahead to enquire whether Friday lunch reservations were necessary -- they were not -- but only when we turned up in person did they tell us we could only buy take out boxes, which we could not eat on the premises. Even though the dining room was open, the tables were set and the counter staffed they chose to send away hungry rather than let us eat a boxed meal inside, on a rather chilly day. We left empty handed, not for lack of wanting to dine here. We planned a trip from Southern Oregon to Mt Shasta in California, an hour away, our prime purpose being to drive around the mountain and lunch at the "best" Indian food in the vicinity. Very disappointing.

A new vegetarian restaurant in Portland! Rejoice!

By Bryan H |

When Bombay Cricket closed its doors, we were in mourning. Imagine our surprise when we learned a new Indian restaurant was going in the same location! The new owners tastefully have given the space a make-over (I love the design on the walls!) and when went on a Thursday evening around 6:30 p.m. to give it a try. First off, the service was quite good. The guy who mostly waited on us was attentive without being overly in our business. The floor staff graciously allowed us to move tables once a more ideal spot in the corner opened up! So, I think the atmosphere and the service were flawless. The food was mixed. I cook Indian food a lot, and make routinely many of the dishes on the menu. We ordered one mango lassi (which was quite good), a Samosa Chole (O.K.) and for our main courses Baingan Bharta (tasty!) and Palak Paneer (nothing special). The prices were a tad expensive, but as another reviewer pointed out, the portions are more than ample. For all the above and a tip we were nearing 50.00 dollars for dinner. We tried making a reservation, but for two people, were told just to come on in! The owners are new in town from Mt. Shasta, and I wish them best of luck in Portland!

Amazing, just amazing

By Zane W |

We found this place by accident on our last night of an amazing trip to Shasta. Let me just say, we chose right; what a revelation. This place combines my favorite parts of the Indian-americana cuisine into one cohesive theme. Deconstructed Samosas? Excellent! My wife and I were in heaven. The owner even took some time to check in on us and have a nice little conversation, informing us of the genesis of that which can be called one of the best little Indian joints I will probably ever visit. Thanks again for a great end to an unforgettable vacation.

Stop at Mt. Shasta

By Travelaunt58 |

We did not know this was a vegetarian restaurant, but that did not detract from the excellent quality of the food at this place. The setting is very nice, service was terrific and the food was delicious. The spicy stuffed naan, Tikka masala and Saag were all delicious. I would certainly stop here again if I were passing through.

Excellent even if you aren't vegetarian

By MMMSebastopol |

We had a very good meal at Maruti's even though they were running low on everything (they were tremendously busy on the 4th of July). The eggplant dish, the tikka masala, the naan all were very good to excellent. We would have come back the next day but they had to close to get more supplies after the crush of the weekend.

Huh?

By Coryjs0 |

Given all the five star ratings my wife and I were super excited to go here. We love Indian food! Regardless of what continent we find ourselves on we always look forward to finding good Indian food. This was not it.... Perhaps we ordered the wrong thing. The Palak paneer and paneer tikka masala were some of the blandest examples of Indian food we have had. The wait staff was great however. Super friendly and attentive. Eating outside and getting the view of the mountain was wonderful. But if this is the #1 in Mt. Shasta, next time I visit, I'm packing a sandwich.

Outstanding Vegan food with attentive service

By Jeff B |

We three, one of us a vegan, came here for dinner. It was too late to be seated, so we ordered take-out. AMBIANCE: 4.5. We sat at an upstairs table as we waited for our order to be complete. Cozy, pleasant interior. SERVICE: 5.0. Patient and considerate. (All were wearing masks.) FOOD: 5.0. Outstanding, including for the 2 non-vegans in the party. - Vegan Tikka Masala (mushrooms): 5.0. - Vegan Tikka Masala (potatoes): 4.5. - Daal Tadka: 4.5 - Vegan butter naan: 4.5 - Cauliflower Kebab: 5.0

High Hopes

By Tampy |

We had dinner here when they first opened. My wife and i love Indian food and tried several offerings. We were very pleased with the taste and presentation of everything we ordered. The service was outstanding. We will eat here again for sure.

Surprising!

By SoCal_LarryC |

A veggie Indian restaurant that turned out some awesome flavors for the meal we had. The Dal soup had unique flavors, and don't forget to order some Samosas. They were the best Samosas we have ever eaten. The crust was the best... light and fluffy! Overall some of the best Indian food we've ever eaten.

Nice Cozy Venue

By citizen360 |

Not much to write, but very good--all around. Note: Maruti is vegetarian. I came to Portland to visit one of my best girlfriends and we went here for dinner. She is a vegetarian, and I am not. We ordered up way too much food including: a Paneer appetizer, Mushroom Biryani, Tikka Masala, and Palak Paneer, Garlic Naan, and beverages. Every single dish and the drinks (mine, a mango margarita and hers, spritzer non-spirit type of drink). The space is very cozy and probably best for smaller groupings. It was perfect for two great friends catching up. I think it would be ideal for a date, too. We must have arrived at a perfect time--just after the 5:00 opening. Soon after we were seated, a waiting group for tables began to form. I would recommend trying to plan carefully to avoid a wait. Enjoy Maruti.

This place is legit. The owner is Amazing and super sweet and the food is spectacular.

By WelschesG |

I have been here several times over the course of 3 years. The owner is so nice and friendly and remembers me and my partner and I would not call us regulars. The food is delicious. It is vegan. I am a meat eater but don't care when I eat here. Daal Soup, Paneer Cutlets, Paneer Tika Masala & Palak Paneer are my favorites. The space is light and bright. I don't see why people are complaining about the seating. It is tight but in Portland you're sometimes sitting with strangers on a farm table so get over it.

Starstruck and Craving More

By Tristen C |

Maruti's is still a new kid on the block as far as restaurants in Mt. Shasta go, but it has earned its place at the top tenfold. For those uninitiated few who haven't given this charming place a visit, rest assured that the food is exactly as flavorful, plentiful, and wonderful as other reviews have described. I really cannot oversell this place. The Palak Paneer is my dish of choice, and with good reason. Spinach cooked and spiced to absolute perfection with chunks of soft, fluffy cheese, it makes for everything you could possibly want in a meal. I find that I like to pair it with the butter naan, but it is plenty filling on its own. Also indispensable to me is the rasmalai: a milky, creamy indulgence with almond slivers and delicate notes that make your eyes want to roll into the back of your head. This is the kind of food that you feel good about eating, period. Also significant is how friendly and attentive management is toward their consumer base. Falguni in particular is an incredible person, and goes to great lengths to ensure that people are well cared for throughout their dining experience. The handful of times I've met her have only reenforced this impression, and I am eternally grateful to her for putting up with me and my late night orders.

Like a meal with family

By aksballardista |

Wow, this was an unexpected find. Vegan, vegetarian....heaven. Traveling with a carnivore makes finding a place like this a true delight. We were both happy, the food was like having a meal with an Indian family. It was perfect on a cold and snowy night. The vegan chai was perfect! So glad we found Maruti.

Great Food!

By Brian R |

Had dinner here with the wife on a recent trip on the recommendation of the owner of the hotel we were staying at. The wife and I came without reservations and got lucky and got an outside table. Then the big surprise! The entire menu was vegetarian! My wife was in heaven! We eat a great deal of Indian Food and this was outstanding! The service was very good. The biggest downside is that they are closing and moving at the end of the month. In our travels we will look for their new location.

Awesome food

Awesome Indian food ...... Want to visit it again .have never tasted such awsm food in my life. Awsmmmmm. Even kids also have loved it a lot .

Highly recommend if you are near Mt Shasta

The hostess did a great job explaining the menu and the food was awesome. The service was great too and the serving size was good. Best Indian meal we've had in a while.

Outstanding

By VirenP |

I actually ate here last October - 2 days in a row. I was visiting from the UK and decided to try this restaurant - and I'm so glad that I did. The food is authentic as you'll get, yes I'm of Indian origin, and the service is out of this world. They have little taster dishes and also wine tasting whilst you eat - you really can't go wrong.

Outstanding Vegetarian!

By Margaret G |

Fortunately my husband didn’t realize this Indian restaurant HE suggested was vegetarian until we arrived. Despite his doubts about getting a decent meal, we stayed, and he was glad we did. (One reason to stay were all the Indian guests who were there!). He loved the Tikka Masala with saag paneer (Indian cheese), the rice was fragrant and perfect, and all the breads we tried were outstanding (pappadum provided to all tables, plus the naan and roti). The pakora (fritters of onion and potatoes) were crispy and delicious. The dish I ordered with coconut was too subtle for my husband, but I liked it very much. Actually, we were upset at first when the couple seated after us got their food first, and then it turned out our pakora had been taken to another table! But our waiter was very apologetic, got a new pakora order in quickly, and then the cost was removed from our check without our even asking. If we actually lived here, instead of being tourists, I would be here often! FYI, they do have a wine list.

Scrumptious Indian food and amazing experience

By PromilaL |

We visited Maruti with family and friends and thoroughly enjoyed food and service. They serve high quality, fresh and tasteful Indian food. Their menu is extensive and have options for vegans as well. I wish I could enjoy it everyday. Friendly staff made our visit more pleasant . Highly recommend the restaurant.

Top Notch Experience All Round

By OdinCalifornia |

Maruti combines delicious and extremely flavorful food, friendly and welcoming service and views of Mt Shasta into a great experience. I was skeptical that a remote town would have good Indian food but Maruti blew away my expectations. I live in a town with a plethora of Indian restaurants but the flavors I found at Maruti were far superior to what I find in my home town.

Excellent Food! Great View! Super Service!

By mike l |

A gem of a restaurant! Mt Shasta is fortunate to have this restaurant. From the moment we walked, we were met with friendly, professional, polite service. And the view of Mt Shasta from the big, clean picture windows was fantastic! As for the food, it was excellent! The Baingan Bharta ($14.50) (Eggplant skewered, smoked and then cooked with Indian spices, served with basmati pulao rice) was outstanding! Equally, the Khichadi ($12.99) (Slow cooked yellow split lentils, ginger, cilantro, coconut served with cucumbers, tomato yogurt, cilantro) was totally delicious! We were so pleased with our meal, we ordered dessert. The orange-mango pie with cashew crust was Outstanding! I would go back just for this pie! The menu has great variety. Vegetarian & gluten free offerings. The entire restaurant embodies attention to detail. Clean. Ample parking. Casual. The owners, Falguni and Rudra (who is also the chef) are totally focused on making their restaurant a culinary experience, with acute attention to customer satisfaction. Our server, Renee, and assistant, Carlos, are polite, friendly, attentive and very positive part of the overall dining experience. Their smiles indicate they like their job and take pride in the restaurant. Clearly, this restaurant owes much of its success to teamwork, dedication to excellence, and customer satisfaction. They work hard but it appears effortless on their part. The restaurant's ambiance is one of calmness and peacefulness. This is a "Must Go" restaurant. We shall return!

Delicious and Friendly

By Happy_Traveling2013 |

We found this little gem via the Eater Portland website’s list of the 18 Essential Vegetarian and Vegan restaurants in Portland and it disintegrated disappoint. The mushroom biryani was both delicious and plentiful, the Apple Avocado salad was outstanding as was the vegan Tikka Masala. Complimented with the super friendly and prompt service, this was an A+ experience. The only improvement I could suggest is for them to make their bathrooms more appealing. They definitely don’t match how delightful everything else was.

Excellent Indian restaurant

Maruti's is a find in Mt. Shasta! My husband and I enjoyed a memorable, delicious vegan Indian meal here in July. We're not vegan, but the food was so good we didn't miss the meat. The staff were friendly, service excellent, food delicious.

Best in Mount Shasta

By David A |

This place is amazing. They have the most flavorable food ever, great wine (reasonably priced) and the best service in town. Will definite keep going back with friends and referring to others.

Fabulous!

By Samuel G |

Fabulous food. You won't even notice that it's vegetarian and vegan. The Tikka Masala with paneer is incredible. Also amazing cheese jalapeño naan and excellent pakoras. Great wait staff. Nice decor. One of our favorites restaurants.

Best in Mt. Shasta

By nettylyn |

Expertly prepared, healthy food, gracious, friendly hosts. The best service we've had in a long time. We tried wine pairings and we were happy that we did because they also have a great selection of wines!

Amazing food and people!

By Jen M |

Not only was the food amazing, but from the minute we walked in the door, we were treated like family. We showed up without a reservation during busy hours and the hostess was so friendly and helpful in finding us a seat at the bar. We met two of the owners not long after sitting down, Falguni and Rudra. They were so accommodating and friendly! We loved all the vegetarian options. It was all so delicious! We loved it so much that we decided to return the next night for dinner. The food was amazing again. By the end of the second night, we had met the whole staff and felt right at home. I can't say enough about the food and the people! It's a must stop if you are in Mt. Shasta! We will definitely return when we are in the area.

Absolutely fabulous

By Gizmocrystal |

The food was delicious, well presented and full of flavour. The staff are delightful and attentive and the owner is obviously interested in her customers and giving them a good experience. A good choice of food and samples are given to taste of food and wine We would recommend this restaurant highly.

Heaven and Earth meet at the base of Mt. Shasta!

By GJM333 |

My wife and I toured India traveling to New Delhi, Varanasi, Jaipur, Agra and more and everywhere we ate we absolutely loved the food. That is true of Maruti, a little Eastern Indian restaurant located in the city of Mt. Shasta with a heavenly view of Mt. Shasta. Truly it is the best Indian food we have had since we left India which makes sense since the owners are from India. As a matter of fact the husband of the couple that owns the restaurant does all the cooking! I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!

Terrific but Closing August 22

Really wonderful vegetarian Indian food, and the outside patio has sparkling views of Mt. Shasta. We are sad to see it leaving.
