Popped into Maryjanes at the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego for coffee yesterday morning. If a noisy, short staffed place is on your wish list, this is the place to go. My hubby ordered coffee and toast and I ordered coffee and a sticky bun. While the bun was microwaved to soften it up, it didn't help the outside part as it was like cardboard. My hubby's toast was delivered without jam and while the staff member was very nice when we asked for some, none appeared - likewise a cheque.

There was nothing wrong with this meal. The service was average, the quality of the food was average, the price was average. Nothing really stuck out positively or negatively. The greek yogurt bowl was more impressive in size and quality than the eggs/bacon/sausage/pancake meal.

well you start with free coffee if you are staying at the Hard Rock Hotel and you will be amazed at who come down in there bathrobe from their rooms to get a coffee...keep that robe closed!!

We had a good lunch and thought the burgers were very good. The staff was just super and good to us. We thought the atmosphere was not fabulous it felt rather like a big barn of a place. Perhaps it warms up at night. I suppose the costs are on a par but it was one of the more expensive meals we had at lunch in San Diego. Don't think I would go back.

Good times had by all. CREW WAS GREAT.craft services excellent nice after-party load out was smooth too.hot & spicy was on the catering menu.

Came here for a quick breakfast with a person who was in town for a conference. Was very busy because of said conference - everyone trying to get something to eat before 8 am. Service was competent once they replaced the dirty mug that was at the table. Coffee was ok, but very surprised to see the cost of each cup. Wow. Won’t make that mistake again. I had the yogurt with fruit and granola, the other had the breakfast burrito. For the price the food was only ok. Didn’t eat there for lunch or dinner and glad I didn’t given all the choices in the area.

It was good but pricey for a regular breakfast - $15 and up. We ordered from the sides to keep it around $6 and no $4 coffee. Good was good and very fast service and staff is nice.

Stopped to catch Sunday brunch and impressed with the quick service and great food. Typical hotel prices though.....

Can't say much more - guacamole, hamburgers, steak - all good. The build your own Bloody Mary Bar is a nice touch on the weekends. Definitely worth a stop!

We were staying at the Hard Rock and decided to wander down for a late, light meal and this met our needs. Not haute cuisine nor fine dining, but the salads my wife and I got and the omelette my son got were well done and the server/service was prompt and pleasant. The Hard Rock (see separate review) is a unique and quirky experience, the restaurant did not necessarily share in that unique and quirkiness, but was a good place to grab a bite.

Terrific service, tasty food, good drinks. I ate omelets for breakfast twice and liked them each time.

Inside the Hard Rock Hotel, you can enter from hotel or street-side. Decent for a meal away from the convention or meeting, serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack along with a full bar. Service was great. Close enough to hide out or return to the group within minutes. Tuck into a corner booth and veg for minute while you clear your head.

The food might not be as fulfilling (for a salad lover like me) but is quite good. what i loved most of this place was the excellent beers the have, they're local, from tap, which gives them an excellent flavor. I had them all! The waiter was quite nice with us. Prices were as high as you'd expect from a Hard Rock-related place

Early this week we went looking for a nice place to eat breakfast. Driving down 5th Avenue we spotted MaryJane's Coffee Shop. The restaurant adjacent to the Hard Rock Hotel was busy but there was plenty of seating available. We opted to sit inside. Our waitress arrived a few minutes later and served our coffee. The coffee pot was left at the table for refills as needed. We ordered Huevos Rancheros and a plain Bagel. The order was delivered fairly quickly. My Bagel was large and nicely toasted, it was served with two individual containers of cream cheese. The Huevos Rancheros were served with refried beans and rice. When we ordered the waitress asked us how we preferred our eggs and we said scrambled. Usually Huevos Rancheros are served over easy but it was a very nice change. While the corn tortilla is usually softly fried and served under the eggs, this time the corn tortilla was very crispy. It was a nice crunchy change and since we split the plate, we both enjoyed it. The coffee was delicious and it was great to have the fresh coffee right at the table. Overall, although the restaurant seemed a bit pricey (it is right in the tourist area ), the food was great. We definitely plan to visit again and try other items on their menu that sounded very appetizing.

Maryjane’s is the cafe style restaurant inside the Hard Rock hotel in San Diego and while I realize that we can’t expect much from that type of place, usually the Hard Rock name provides a bit more quality. We went on an afternoon after a Padres game and it was almost completely empty. While we were seated promptly it took close to 15 minutes for anyone to come and take our order. We just had deserts and these were lower quality than what you would find at a chilis. Freezer burned taste and not worth the calories.

We have had breakfast twice here because the California burrito is so good. The menu is very limited in general. I did not like the green smoothie that was touted to be good but that could be just me. The hot cocoa was good. I love the atmosphere and service was good enough. I really like the burrito!

We were staying at the Hard Rock so it was very convenient for breakfast. The pancakes were very good but everything is pretty pricey.

The food was good. The coffee was not hot at all. The waitress never offered us coffee after she served our meal. I had to get her attention to get another cup of coffee . She wasn’t busy just standing around not interested in working. At a price of $6.00 for coffee it should of been hot and offered more than once.

We were staying in the hotel and came down for breakfast. Good service. Food was good and quick. a good breakfast place. As for dinner, I noticed few eating their in the three nights we walked by it. There are just so many great dinner restaurants near-by.

The build your own Bloody Mary Bar was fantastic. The food was amazing and the service was OUTSTANDING! We had a great weekend and Maryjane's was the perfect ending . While in San Diego Marjane's needs to be your go to breakfast spot!

My wife and I and a business associate ate breakfast twice here while attending a convention. The food each time was excellent, presentation was appealing, and everything was served piping hot. We had very attentive waitstaff on both occasions. We were seated immediately upon arrival and would highly recommend the restaurant to any travelers to the area.

Was a nice choice for an early lunch when other restaurants weren't serving yet. Easy service for one and lots of groups were eating around me. Reasonable prices, great service and tasty food.

During these pandemic times I wandered thru the Gaslamp on a Friday evening before things got too happening. The placard outside Maryjanes caught my eye offering some great happy hour prices of $1 wings, $2 street tacos and $5 beer plus there was a space to sit outside to observe the sidewalk/street from a safe distance. Altho this is part of the Hard Rock Hoel almost right under the historic Gaslamp sign, at 5pm on a Friday evening it was really quiet at that end. Altho the prices were good the food itself was meh. Teriyaki wings were really wet saucy and the shrimp tacos were fried and not very tasty. But a good pint of Stella beer. Ordered inside at the bar and Vivian was very friendly. It was ok just for a quick bite & beer.

After trying the food at Mary Jane's on my first day of my trip, I had to eat there again and again! Great customer service too!

Great service - we arrived after the breakfast cut-off but they were accommodating and took our breakfast order. The Tijuana Eggs dish is a great way to start the day and the coffee is lovely.

Had breakfast here on our last day in San Diego. Husband and I both had the three egg breakfast (scrambled) with bacon. Everything was great! The eggs were yummy..tasted like they were cooked in real butter. The bacon was crispy and smoky. The potato cake thing was awesome! It was like a little cake of hashbrowns. The coffee was really good too. Kids had french toast and it was good. Although the 16 year old required some of my food too as the French toast serving was just two pieces of bread. Probably would have filled me up, but that daughter is huge fan of breakfast foods! It was a little pricey for breakfast, but most of the restaurants in the area are. They have some seats outside, which was nice in the cool San Diego morning weather. Would have breakfast there again if I'm in the area. Only complaint would be that I think our waitress had tables outside and inside so she never really bussed away our dirty dishes. That's just a pet peeve of mine because I waited/bartended for years, and always made a point to pre-bus so no one was sitting with dirty dishes on the table.

Great Mimosas bar, to make them just as you like them! They also have a great Bloody Mary Bar. We had great quick service.

This is a retro-chic styled bar and restaurant. It is convenient if you staying at the hard rock or want a quick drink. The chips and gauc are really good and the manager that was on was really nice and personable. The restaurant and bar wasn't crowded while I was there which was kind of nice. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It also has a full bar.

A great menu that would cover anyone's comfort food. Plenty of salads, sandwiches, etc. The best thing was a wonderful breakfast menu that was available till closing!

great place to eat for breakfest! so cute inside and friendly staff. Overall great place and reasonable.

Easy, clean & quick restaurant to get a quick lunch. Fish & chips were delicious and the grilled cheese sandwich tasted yummy too along with the tomato basil soup. A good place for families & a nice location in the Gaslamp District. Our waitress was very friendly & suggested the shakes were delicious as well.

Our group of friends has a tradition of going here after the preview night of San Diego Comic Con. As we age, we realize that the greasy spoon food may not be the best choice for us as there are few healthy alternatives. The service was pretty good, the wait was about 30 minutes.

There's free coffee to go until 9:00am but a cup at breakfast is $4. Eggs arrived moderately warm and toast cold. Waitress who was nice brought back some warm toast and fixed and issues with the order quickly. There are places to walk nearby that would be better.

In town for a convention. Walked by this place that was opening for breakfast. Wasn’t planning on stopping, but glad I did. Nestled in the Hard Rock Hotel at the mouth of the Gas Lamp District I found great food and pleasant service. Had OJ and the heuvos rancheros with sunny side up eggs. The tortilla was crisp (might of been deep fried) and added a nice flare to the meal. Great way to start the day.

We chose Mary Jane's at the Hard Rock Hotel because we had a Groupon. While the service tended to be a bit on the slow side, the food was good and great prices.

Since I've been in San Diego this was the first time I was able to get breakfast. Food and service was excellent. Fair prices too.

A nice breakfast restaurant near the convention center on 5th Street. Played rock music in the background. There were people waiting to be seated. The line moved quickly.

MarJane’s is a “diner-like” restaurant. Offering typical diner food and breakfast all day. It’s accessible from 5th Ave or from the lobby of the Hard Rock Hotel. The restaurant is bright, clean and energetic. The menu has quite a variety offering typical diner food and breakfast all day. The staff is friendly and attentive. A great place for a late bite, breakfast (all day) or lunch. A nice alternative to the other restaurants in the Gaslamp Quarter.

I love this place and stop by every visit to San Diego!! They are very accommodating and the food is good. MaryJane's is the best ever...they let me and my friend split breakfast without a fuss...They even prepared two different types of eggs!! Who does that, they did!!! Please stop my..Try the endless Mimosas or the Bloody Mary Bar fixing!!!

We had breakfast at Maryjane's twice while on a business trip. The food was very good. The wait staff could have been more attentive as the restaurant wasn't busy and we had to wait to get refills ,etc..

Mary Janes is a great Restaurant for all ages. There is food for every meal! Plenty of menu items. There is a television at every four person booth! Pop-Art of celebrities on the wall such as, Mick Jaggar and Marilyn Monroe! Very comfortable booths and chairs. Accessable from the street too! Great Restaurant!!

Because it is So. Cal. I thought I would be able to substitute a vegetarian patty for a burger. It still makes me gag to think of it. I think they mashed lentils together and cooked it until it was burned. They need to look at some say alternatives. Subway does a much better job of that.

Lunch crowd light on a weekday. Burger and onion rings were tasty with good portions. Spouse had breaded fish and fries & liked it. Waitstaff was pleasant, checked on us frequently. Would return.

Great food and great service. Had breakfast twice here and enjoyed it each time. The only downside is the prices are a little high. But the portion sizes are so big you can easily split something.

I feel this place is over priced and thinks it's a 4 to 5-star dining establishment, considering it's connected to the Hard Rock Hotel. 'Crispy applewood bacon' translates to 'limp, at least it's cooked' bacon. An additional $1 for actual maple syrup? The only thing satisfying was their potatoes. Nothing special to be said about the eggs.

This isn't fancy or outrageous...just simple, easy food. Costs are on par with city meals, no more, no less. Waitstaff was quick yet still friendly.

Stopped in for breakfast. Had a bacon n cheese omelette with very little bacon. The omelette was very thick. Not very good. Service was great though.

Great food and pretty good service. Only complaint is that for the price they could have real maple syrup instead of cold colored corn syrup.

standard fair with good service, but food was plain and over priced. they did accommodate a good flow of people, but just around the corner was the broken yolk which handled breakfast better.

You can get a great $14 burger meal here with a heaping plate of fries. The meat quality is very good and the burgers are super tasty. They also offer a fun all day breakfast menu. The drink menu with cocktails and beer is ptretty standard. The buffalo chicken salad topped with onion rings is pretty impressive. It's fun to sit outside on the street side patio and people watch under the infamous Gaslamp arch.

Stopped in for happy hour. The drinks were well prepared but the staff left a bit to be desired. The bar was not busy yet it took 15 minutes to get our drinks.

I tried this on my first day in San Diego and it was an very good experience - checking off all the boxes I needed: Large coffee mugs topped off regularly, good selection & great service. It's priced inline with what'd you'd expect for a boutique location. I enjoyed it 3 out of the 4 days I was in SD.

Maryjane's was OK priced about right for the area. Food was good and they leave the coffee pot on the table.

Just average, nothing special. With all the variety in the gaslamp you would do better to pass this place up.

Had breakfast here one morning. Laura was the waitress and she was very good at her job. She made sure my coffee cup was always full and that I was happy with my meal. Food was served hot and cooked just as I asked.

The breakfast was very good. With the discount for staying at the hotel, it made it a very affordable option. Plus, when I ordered coffee, they brought out a whole pot. Just what I needed with all the booze I drank the night before!

Guests of the hotel , we went for breakfast there. The food is pretty good. The right choice too. Service, not always good. Some waitresses are very unpleasant. Especially a brunette with a tattoo on her face. But so do others. They make no effort to understand us. We were even asked to change tables on the second day. What's wrong? Thank you to Celina for her smile and great kindness on the last day. Thank you very much.

Our family visited for breakfast over Memorial Day weekend. Great food and make it yourself Bloody Mary bar.

Wanted something to eat close by and Jose Valle from Banquets recommended MaryJane. The food was delicious and the service was fast although the restaurant was packed. The entire team worked efficiently and the service was outstanding although the restaurant was literally to its full capacity. Thanks Breanne for always checking up on me while i dined at the Bar. You were outstanding.

We happened upon this place and we're happy we did. Delicious food and the servers were all very friendly. Place was clean and had an old-school feel.

Ate lunch today. Was not crowded. Prices were reasonable. Our server was very friendly and helpful. Meal came with no salad dressing and I asked for no pepper jack cheese and sub cheddar- still came with pepper jack. Just peeled the cheese off. Otherwise food was tasty and we had a pleasant experience. They treated my friend to a free dessert for her 60th birthday.

The service was awesome on both visits. Food was delish, everyone we interacted with was helpful and very friendly.

Came here for a quick and quiet breakfast before a full business day, and was able to get a great spot by the door to a small booth to myself. Service was efficient and the eggs Benedict good.

Excellent food we had the pancakes and a breakfast sandwhich. An the customer service is very good. We will be back we have been here everything we stay at the Omni hotel.

We got ordered take out so I'm sure it's even better when you eat there. The french toast is nothing fancy, but it's delicious!

This place is cool cause of the decor, the location in the awesome hard rock hotel and because it's open late at night. The food itself is average and will leave you wanting better, so best to come here for a burger and fries at 3am, or for a hungover breakfast, not a sober meal or good lunch.

I just walked in this morning for breakfast and waited about 10 minutes before leaving. The young lady at the bar didnt once acknowledge our existence. After a couple of minutes a couple walked in and sat next to us. She approached them and walked passed us twice, to get and bring them there drink order. She than went to the gentlemen who where before us on the opposite side and finised taking their order. Lastly a couple walked in behind us and she greeted them with a warm welcome. Im just confused as to why we wernt ever acknowledged and looked over SO MANY times. Needless to say, we walked out after that and i would hope it wasnt because we were black.

Breakfast was ok, Bloody Mary bar was good. The eggs Benedict was pretty good, Eggs were poached perfect. The Tijuana Eggs Benedict was ok too, a little dry, but perfect Eggs. The coffee tasted like wood, and could not get that taste out of our mouths.

The service was excellent as were the Bloody Marys. The food arrived quickly. The bacon bits used in the Omelets was a little too small and overcooked. The Hash is very greasy. Overall a good place for a quick breakfast, but a bit over priced for the quality.

We had breakfast here and thought the quality of food and service was really good. It is attached to the Hard Rock Hotel and in the Gas Lamp District near the convention centre and Petco Pk ~ a great location. I'd definitely eat here again.

Had lunch and supper here, both were good. Had the side salad instead of chips. Server was attentive and will stop by again. Had a strawberry shake as well.

Over priced, bad coffee. Bacon was cold. $6 for this fruit salad , including a tip this was $50 which is about €44, way over priced for the quality and service given.

A coworker and I went in for dinner, and were one of two parties in the entire establishment. A couple of ingredients were out so both of our first choices were unavailable. The waiter/bartender was kind enough to let us taste beers before ordering, and brought a sample of one of the sauces out, but they were not attentive to my colleague's allergy concern and ended up making another dinner for him. The bartender took off on his break and his fill-in was a bit less attentive. THe food was edible, but it's not really an establishment I'd go back to.

I was at a conference in San Diego and went out to dinner with friends and colleagues, three of whom happened to be plain-clothed Catholic nuns. After wandering around a while looking for a restaurant to fill all particular needs and palates, we settled on MaryJanes because the menu looked suitable. To my delight and relief, the food was really good, and Katrina - our server - made our dining experience extra special. She listened to our dining needs, made helpful suggestions, and brought us exactly what we had ordered. During our dining sojourn, Katrina engaged us in conversation. She is brilliant and bold, funny and witty and intelligent, and we all ended up exchanging notes about books, films, and tattoos. With Catholic nuns. Because Katrina brought out the cool in all of us.

Breakfast here is terrible. Hockey Puck biscuits, poor service and generally bad food. I kind of figure you have to try real hard to screw up breakfast. They do a great job of screwing it up.

We happened to stumble on this place while looking for a breakfast spot in San Diego without a 30 min wait. After deciding just to go back to the hotel and eat there we past this place and decided to give it a try. Man, am I glad we did! As previous reviews have said, it is a bit pricey (by my standard, not San Diego). We were quickly sat outside in the sidewalk cafe area and promptly waited on. I decided on the French Toast and Bacon while my wife had an omelet and my son had an all American kids meal. The food was so good. Perfectly cooked bacon! Everyone had a little bit of my French toast and all agreed it was the best we ever had. For the 3 of us, it was $47, but well worth it. We are leaving this morning and made sure we got up early enough to plan to stop by and have breakfast there again on our way out of town.

Food was great and staff was nice! We enjoyed the atmosphere very much!definitely would recommend for lunch or breakfast

We were struggling with jet lag neither of our party of 4 had slept much. Decided to visit Mary Janes. Wow! Huge portions, very tasty brunch and great service. Just a great way to start our visit here in San Diego. Will certainly make a return visit before our visit ends!

Visited 3 times for breakfast during Comic-Con and was happy with the food and service every time. Note though that a reduced menu is only available on some days during Comic-Con, but the food is always good. I particularly liked the omelettes and pancakes. Will certainly go back if visiting San Diego again.

Ordered wings as a starter and the New York strip as a main. The main arrived about 5 minutes after the wings....so I had a protein battle lol! The wings weren't crispy - and although cooked weren't great - tasted 'wet'. I asked for medium rare steak and got medium (at best) and it didn't look appetising. Server was polite. Won't be back in a hurry sadly (place was empty on a Sunday night)

My friend and I dined at Maryjane's restaurant which was located within the Hard Rock Hotel. Its an American Diner restaurant. Nice ambiance. We had breakfast/lunch. My friend ordered breakfast food items a la carte and I ordered a California Chopped Salad. Our food was good. Service was slow. Prices are reasonable. If you are in the Gaslamp district and are looking for an all American restaurant, then I would suggest a visit to Maryjane's.

While MaryJane's may not have the name recognition of other Gaslamp Quarter venues, the service and bang for the buck make it worth stopping by. To take a step back, we were staying at the Hard Rock Hotel, and with MJ's being located in the hotel, this was an easy choice for us. However, even if we were staying elsewhere in the city, if you are spending any time in the Convention Center, MJ's location makes this a great option for breakfast before crossing the street, a midday break for lunch, or a drink after a day at the Center. The food was consistently good, and while you wouldn't call it gourmet, there were several unique, flavorful options for both breakfast and dinner. The service was consistently prompt, which was appreciated when we were working on a tight schedule. Above all, the staff at MJ's was great--every person working there was sincerely helpful, courteous, and cheerful--even at 6:30 a.m.

Maryjane's in a wonderful place to eat. The decor was very retro classic and reminded me of pictures I've seen of diners in the 60s. The food is really good, the prices are good, but the staff is spectacular.

Food was great! A little pricey but we were at the Hard Rock so...well worth eating here and super convenient because it was in the hotel

Stayed at the Hard Rock and had to try this place for breakfast. My husband and I love to go 50/50 to enjoy a variety so we tried the burrito and carne asada eggs benedict. They were both heavenly but if we had to pick one it would have been the burrito. It was worth every penny!

The food is on the pricey side but they give you really large, tasty portions and the staff makes you feel at home. Also, there's free unlimited coffee in the mornings which is a nice perk.

Had lunch on the patio. Good view. Ordered salad with southern fried chicken. Chicken was tasty. Salad was over dressed and wilted. Restaurant had no character... better places nearby

I spent $20 for the worst club sandwich I've ever eaten. I asked for no bacon, but I got bacon. I wanted the cheese, ham and tomato that was supposed to come on the sandwich, but I didn't get any of that. I couldn't find the waitress and I was hungry, so I begrudgingly ate it. It's worth mentioning that the waitress was friendly, just not very attentive.

All servers were very helpful and friendly. Portions on most selections are large enough to share. If you are a light eater, order from the side selections. And get that extra cup of coffee in a to go cup!

Came here for breakfast during our stay at Hard Rock. The service was quick and the place was clean. Good food, and not much else to say. I would recommend it to people in the area for a good, quick breakfast. They had little t.v.'s at each table if you're into that. I thought it was very good. Also, the breakfast potatoes - it's like a little patty - it was really good!

Nicole was immaculate with her customer service! Food is so good and you can tell that the cooks take their time with the cook of the food. Thank you so much Nicole for working with such a wonderful establishment!!!

Typical American breakfast and brunch menus. Good food and very good coffee, also efficient service, but it is not cheap

We both enjoyed our breakfast choices here--corned beef hash with homefries instead of fruit for him, and the breakfast sandwich for me. I enjoyed having my own pot of really good coffee (I hate having to wait for refills of coffee). Quality was good. Prices were pretty high for what it was though.

Really enjoyed eating here, polite and positive staff waiting on who are really helpful. Great selection on the menu catering for all tastes.

Good service by the staff, great ambience, very good food. A really good choice to have breakfast if you are staying at Hard rock or close to Gaslamp.

Fun atmosphere... I loved the names of the different dishes. Ate breakfast and lunch there and both times were good, however the prices a little bit high -- but guess that's what's expected at Hard Rock. The waitstaff were always friendly.

Have eaten at MJ's many time and always enjoy my experience. Great sandwiches, burgers, salads, milkshakes, etc. Not a place to diet. :)

I ate breakfast here every morning, and was surprised on how good it was, especially for being attached to the hotel. Service could be slow when busy, but the food was great.

The food is basic diner food, but done well...with a full bar. I had breakfast for dinner, which was good, especially the hash brown potatoes which were excellent. Service was very good.

Having been here for breakfast whilst in San Diego on business (which was good) decided to return for dinner. Was not very impressed. Restaurant was very empty at 7.00 pm which probably says something. Just has standard fare - it was okay, but nothing special. My wife had a chicken salad dish whish was really quite poor. Total bill of $80 for two (inc. tip), when neither of us had any alcoholic drinks was somewhat high considering the quality of the food. Basically a diner, but not a particularly good one. Service was good. Food was disappointing. Go to the Spaghetti Factory next door - better quality food, and much batter value. (But do come here for breakfast!)

Great place to pop in for a quick bite. Ate there on two occasions, breakfast and lunch. Both great. Breakfast was huge! YUM!!!

Went in for lunch with colleagues during a trade show. Good choice of food, arrived quickly, great service throughout

I ate breakfast here 3 times during my stay in SD. The food was good as was the service. It kept me coming back. Dining in restaurant and outside.

I wrote a review of Mary Jane's as a stand alone cafe. I see no reason to change that review, just because it associates itself with Hard Rock Hotel. Decent food, but charges as if a high end venue, which it is not. Better value at other eateries on 5th.

We stumbled in here on our way home and were greeted with happy service orientated staff. They put up with our bad jokes and served a mean Bloody Mary. Thank you!!

We went in for an early breakfast as we stayed at the Hard Rock.. Our server was excellent and the food was fantastic! Tried a few of the cocktails, perfect. Great experience.

Hostess did a GREAT job at getting a large group of conference attendees seated for a timely lunch! Friendly and helpful waitress! I had the Meatball sandwich, spouse had fish and chips, and beers. Food was VERY overpriced. Honestly would not recommend for lunch. Accommodating staff.

The food at Mary Janes was amazing. The serving sizes were huge and the food quality was spot on. Really nice place to have breakfast lunch or dinner.

No one to greet you apon arriving at restaurant. Told to choose our own seats then waited for menu to look over. Was not brought water like the other tables. Waited over 40 minutes for order to be taken or even asked about drinks. Food was ok nothing special. Waited to receive check after having to chase down waitress to get check. Waited to pay check. All in all customer service was horrible. Took me all of 15 minutes to eat. The reminder of the time was spent waiting. At restaurant 1 hour 30 minutes

On walking distance of the conference centre lays this good managed facility. You can have a good lunch. They serve different plates all reasonable priced. Nice adequate waiters. It was relaxing. The club sandwich and the hamburger were delicious

So delicious!! It was a little pricey, but so good and worth it, we'd go back! Our waitress was very nice and helpful.

Fast, rich and plenty. Can be very busy during rush hours, but smiling staff serves you great meals as fast as they can.

The drinks were not that expensive compared to the other options in the area and the happy hour appetizers were great. My girlfriend really liked the garlic Parmesan fries and the tacos were excellent!

The staff was very busy covering as they were understaffed which is rough when you have Petco Park nearby and a big name like Elton John playing. As you can imagine being pressed for time as we wait for waitstaff and food to arrive. To have warm tots isn’t very appetizing and my fish sandwich had such a small piece of fish I almost mistook it for another veggie as it was hidden under the tomato. I felt the prices were too high but it was located under the Hard Rock Hotel and in Gaslamp district.

Very good service coupled with a good choice of menu options. Three cheese grilled cheese was very good.

We had breakfast here both days of our stay at Hard Rock Hotel. We went the first morning and had such great food, went back again! Service was exceptional, although on the 2nd day I think our waitress had to leave, although she turned us over to another server and service was great. I'm a corned beef hash fanatic, and theirs was the BEST!!

If you want great food, excellent drinks and service then this is the place for you! We sat outside in a fun, comfortable and great people watching atmosphere. You won't be disappointed.

Very good light fare diner food with excellent service. I was surprised there weren’t more ppl there but maybe it’s busier at lunchtime.

We had a great time at Maryjanes for a casual Birthday brunch for a co workers Birthday! Miguel at the Bar made it a fun time. He was attentive and spoiled the Birthday boy! Thanks Miguel we appreciate your hospitality.

Had breakfast here during a recent visit to San Diego. There is nothing outstanding to write about, but the menu was good for your basic breakfast. Service was great and the place was cute, kind of like a diner.

But food is totally overprices. We ordered fruits for our La Bamba burger and they were not edible, not ripen at all and very hard, we mentioned it to the staff serving us, but she was not interested at all.

The food was a solid good but not spectacular. However there were plenty of light options which we appreciated. The ambience was excellent. Our booth had a tv with the Sunday game playing but the noise wasn’t overwhelming at all. Very calm, modern decor. I’d come again.

Went here for breakfast several times during my stay at Hard Rock. Breakfast is phenomenal. Free wi fi. Asked them why the beans were so good. They cook them with lard. The way God intended. Rare awesome food find in San Diego.

Great atmosphere and good customer service. The food was good and they have a build your own Bloody Mary bar that looked so tasty. Gluten free options but beware... They put flour in there homefry potatoes. I appreciated that the staff was knowledgeable about Gluten intolerances.

Great food and friendly service. Definitely recommend this place to anyone. Sean is a great bartender and the host was very welcoming.

Mary Janes, is located right inside the Hardrock- there is some outdoor seating as well as indoor. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. The service was great and the food was good too- nothing earth shattering- in my opinion, but if you don't feel like going far and want some good eats, its a great place. We had breakfast there 2 of the 3 days we were there. No complaints. It gets a little busy so you may have to wait- We found later breakfast was crowded, but we never had a wait to get a table.

A classic American style diner in downtown San Diego offering late night food. Expensive, but really good.

Ate here one night near to closing time, but the services was not reduced, the staff were excellent and the pasta dishes we had was very nice. Would definitely eat there again.

Stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel and came to Maryjane's for breakfast. The layout of the restaurant is really conducive to all types of groups....whether it be single tables, booths, large groups...great layout. The food was good. I had the three eggs with bacon. Comes with a biscuit but I changed to English muffin. Eggs were cooked perfectly to my over easy request. Service was good and friendly.

Menu looked great I was looking forward to have breakfast for last few days , was excited to have the breakfast and went in today at 10 am, it was not crowded, calm and quiet. The guy server asked to meet hostess. She gave us a seat but my husband could not sit near the vent so needed to move. Even before we could speak to the hostess. The guy server made faces and nodes his head as if he was very annoyed. I was very surprised with his action. It seemed he did not like us and I did not feel like eating there. I was very upset and I told the hostess I am leaving because of his attitude. Hospitality is important . I work in that area too so I know to keep it to myself if I am annoyed and show the best behavior. This restaurant have to reeducate their servers about hospitality.

We went there with a large group for dinner. They were able to accommodate a group of 20 at one table and even gave separate checks. Food was okay. Typical diner food, nothing stood out as amazing or bad. Service was decent and I’m sure it is even better with a smaller group.

I had a breakfast and a lunch meeting here and both were excellent. Food was great and served at the temperature expected. Many hotel restaurants don't measure up in my opinion they have a captive audience and do not try too hard. Mary Jane's is an exception and other than being a little expensive was a great experience.

This is a good hotel cafe. Service was very good and friendly. Food was good but typical hard rock fare.

Ate here twice for breakfast while staying at the Hard Rock. Service was okay. Eggs Benedict was okay...Need new hollandaise sauce. Fruit was fresh.

Food was really good. It was late morning but not quite lunch. Very quiet and seemed to be during a shift change. Service was slow. But still recommend it.

Very average. Food did come quickly after placing order. Not a huge offering for breakfast which is all we ate here.

We were in San Diego for business and met every morning at Maryjane's for breakfast. I have to say it was excellent! The food was amazing and the service quick!

Here for DistribuTECH and was really busy but the staff were still friendly and food was out within 15 min. Had club sandwich and fries and was good.

Every year for the past several years I celebrate my last night as a volunteer at SDCC by having dinner at MaryJanes. The wait is long, but I have always gotten great food and service, so I am willing to wait. Best part is sitting out on the patio, eating amazing fish and chips, people watching and then eating a dessert I shouldn't be having. It's my big splurge meal at the end of a long week!

Grabbed a quick breakfast one morning and loved their menu selection. Several lighter options along with a normal breakfast menu. Service was quick and very nice.

Great diner style tasty food, served quickly. Really enjoyed the soft tacos. Not far from convention centre in the gas lamp part of town. Recommended.

Very good food . especially the burgers and fries . this is my go to when it comes to a quick place to eat

Great little breakfast spot situated in our hotel. Always received a warm welcome by the servers and looked after very well. the breakfasts were large, too large for me so I end up ordering from the sides menu everyday and the other half from the main. Quickly cooked food and delicious.....try the milkshake!

Went here for breakfast one day. I had lovely yoghurt and granola - you definitely won't go hungry! Service was quick. Prices arent cheap but then you get what you pay for (a good, filling breakfast!)

We went for lunch and found out lunch wasn’t served until 2:00pm. The brunch menu did have lunch items so we were all good. Hubby’s salad was huge and very tasty. I has a burger and fries. Couldn’t finish my meal. Should you Order Mimosas for brunch, it’s bottomless until 2:00pm!!

I have never met staff, that goes above and beyond like this place. There customer service is impeccable.

Dropped by after arriving 9 am first day - eggs, cold biscuit and cold piece of Canadian ham - went elsewhere next four mornings.

We had breakfast at Maryjane's while in San Diego on business. The eggs were good, the bacon not as crispy as I like, and the service was a little slow as they appeared to be understaffed.

I've had breakfast and drinks here several times. It's not surprising that the service is hit or miss at such a large hotel. During breakfast this morning, our order included a "sticky bun." We quickly figured out why it tasted sour, there was mold in the center. Although the comp'd our breakfast, we won't be back.

This diner-stlye restaurant offers a nice collection of burgers. It also offers nice breakfasts. Since it's located within the HRH of San Diego, you get a discount when you stay at the hotel. Food tastes good, the restaurant is clean and the staff is very friendly.

Came here for breakfast while staying at the Hard Rock, this is obviously very convenient. Service was very friendly, food is a bit overpriced for what it is but hey, that's what you get at a "touristy" joint. Pay for convenience I guess =] We had 3 eggs scrambled with sausage and eggs Benedict

The hash browns are a MUST! They had a white cheddar-onion taste that melted in your mouth! The eggs were good as well.

We enjoyed this place so much we went back a second time. Booths play clips of Saturday morning TV shows that will certainly bring a flood of great memories for Baby Boomers. Open layout, clean and classy decor, and great basic breakfast (more high quality comfort diner food than gourmet nonsense)

Dropped in for breakfast was served fast and price was reasonable for a hotel restaurant. Service was excellent.

Completely dissatisfied with the management. Yes it was a pack morning, but I sat at the bar assuming the bartender will take care of the 6 people sitting there... NO, he hardly could manage it alone. I spoke to the manager and suggested him to reforce/man the bar. He just didn't show interest, horrible service and forever to wait, no for the foo, but for the coffee, the orange juice and the worse... The check. Well, I decided to give them a second change so I returned and this time with some friends. We got a table we ordered food, again, food came but drinks, refills, some mayonnaise or even the check, waiting forever!!!! So obviously here there is plenty room for improvements. Good luck Marijane, I don't return.

This place has great breakfast. We had a delicious omelet one day and a breakfast burrito the next day. The portions are very big and can easily feed two people.

In town for a convention and Maryjane's is our "Go To" for lunch. Tin Fish is really good, but everyone goes there and there is always a line. Just a little further up the street is Maryjane's and everything we had there was great and reasonably priced. Carne Asada fries-excellent, eggs benedict-great, salmon risotto-delish.

Love the waffles. Although prices were a bit high it was well worth the convenience of being in the hotel and the food tasted great not to mention the customer service was awesome.

Surprisingly empty during lunch while there was a 25000 delegate convention across the street. Not too expensive. Recommended for a break from a convention

This was my second visit to Maryjane's here in SD at the Hard Rock Hotel. This experience was just as great as the first. The restaurant was almost empty, which I found amusing, but that allowed the wait staff to devote their full attention to me! The service was great, the smiles genuine, and the classic club about as good as I've had anywhere.

good location. Lots of tables inside so you can get away from the street noise. Varied menu-- hard to pick a favorite so have to go again and try second & third choice. Or agree to all order something different and share. Should have looked at menu a little closer. $4 for iced is just stupid but the food seemed priced right.

You just woke up and you're hungry for breakfast. Just off the lobby at the HRH San Diego is Maryjane's where you find the cure for those hunger pangs. I stayed at the HRH 5 days for a convention and had b'fast here 3 of those days. My colleague wanted to try "other places" but they weren't as good and we kept on coming back. So crawl on down to MJ's and enjoy. TIP: Sit at the counter for a real coffee shop experience!

Had the Tijuana style breakfast. Very tasty. Pleasant and prompt service. Good strong coffee to get your day started.

This was our first stop when we arrived in San Diego. Gaslamp Quarter was very busy as Comic Con was in full swing. The venue was fairly busy but the staff were very pleasant and attentive. Prices were fairly high for what you get, portions were good but I found the food to be OK and nothing more, it filled a gap so to speak, otherwise the place was fine.
Stay Away
We stopped in one night for dinner because there wasn't a wait. We found out why! The place was empty except a few people at the bar. We ordered our food. It arrived cold and tasted like a frozen dinner. The service was terrible. I'm not sure the waitress was even on this planet.
