Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls is fantastic! I had the warm buttered lobster roll with an extra lobster tail on top. Magnificent!

We happened upon this fabulous find because we were looking for a restaurant close to where we had parked in downtown Austin. As USA TODAY's First Road Warrior of the Year, you can imagine that I travel A LOT. I loved the lobster rolls at Grittys in Portland, Maine that we ate them two nights in a row. When I found Masons at 2nd and Congress, I was skeptical. However, the food was exceptional and the people could not have been nicer. Honestly, I was shocked to find such an excellent product outside of Maine---for almost half the price! The owner, Taher and his people were so cordial and gracious, even after I asked them to remake my sandwich without celery salt and black pepper. We are planning to go back on Mother's Day---and I can't wait. Austin is very lucky to have such a treasure.

Came here to grab some food to go after seeing the bats. Got the classic lobster roll and a garden salad. Both were so fresh and delicious. The guy working up front was friendly and helpful. Very clean establishment.

This spot is great for a casual night. The menu is limited, but the Connecticut Lobster Roll, which is warm and toasted was absolutely delicious. It was paired with potato salad or cole slaw. My husband and I were traveling on business and wanted a fish restaurant, but nothing too fancy. We wanted good seafood and Mason's was an excellent choice for a light meal and to get a taste of downtown's night life.
