We were a group of 20. They had a perfect room se up for us .Food fantastic. try the calamari, different from any other restaurant and wonderful. tried the fried green tomatoes, surprise presentation and also wonderful. food came out timely for all. Our waiter Hugh gave wonderful suggestions was attentive and fun.

We have enjoyed Masraff's since its earliest days. While the restaurant has moved around town a couple of times, the quality of the food has not changed. Its current location near Memorial City is modern, with plenty of natural light and clean, functional furniture. There is patio seating too, weather permitting. The decor is sparse, and because of the many hard surfaces, the restaurant tends to be somewhat noisy. Service is good, especially if the senior Masraff keeps an eye on the dining area. After a delightful glass of wine, we enjoyed a terrific Clam chowder, creamy and full of clams. The Wagyu meatballs were good, but not memorable. The Red Snapper was served on a bed of risotto, shaved Brussels sprouts and mushrooms: it was lovely. The Chilean Seabass was thick, perfectly done and served on lobster grits and seasonal vegetables. A bottle of Perrin Condrieu was the perfect companion for the fish and we completed our meal sharing a Meringue Glacee. A lovely evening, calling for a repeat.

I went to Masraff's for dinner with a colleague and a couple of clients for a business dinner. The food was terrific and the server did a great job of providing good service but also allowing us space to have our discussion. It is also quite enough that you don't have to shoot at each other and worry if others can over hear your conversation. I highly recommend it.

The service was excellent, fast and efficient. Their customer service was superb and the food absolutely delicious. I can not wait to visit them again.

This was our first time at Masraff's, and it proved to be an excellent dining experience. The service was, in a word, outstanding, and the food was delicious. For an appetizer I had the wild mushroom ravioli followed by the baby spinach salad; for my entree I had a filet, which was tender and flavorful. This restaurant provides valet parking or you may park your vehicle yourself. This is a popular place, so reservations are recommended.

We went to Masraff’s last night, we called and got a reservation within the hour. Since we’re traveling, we didn’t have any dressy clothes, so I asked if we could wear nice jeans and a nice top or shirt. They said no problem. The atmosphere is elegant and muted in shades of grey, two walls of our room were lined with rows of wine bottles horizontally displayed, very unique. Our waiter, Robert was very personable, attentive and took good care of us. I had a Manhattan and my husband had bourbon, our drinks were perfect! I had rack of lamb, my husband had the seafood on special, all entrees included vegetables , mashed potatoes for me risotto for my husband. Most of the other $$$$ restaurants had everything A La Cart, so having sides included is a plus! Our entrees were cooked perfectly and were delicious!

One of the best dishes I have ever eaten. I ate a tuna fish with herbs and potatoes sauce. The season beer was good also. I recommend it.

I went there after reading a few very positive reviews. I was terribly disappointed. Service and staff. After being quickly seated, we had to wait for about 10 minutes to get a menu to look at. Our server was irritatingly obsequious and used silly words like 'infused with' and 'our chef designed a special emulsion'. Good service is defined by punctuality, cordiality and simplicity: none of them were to be found at Masraff. Ambiance and decor. The decor matches the service: it tries too hard, is all fake, lacks substance and makes no sense. A faux raw wood beam hangs in an alcove pierced 10 feet above the ground for no reason at all, and if this was not enough, it burns with half-a-dozen gas flames. The light fixtures fell out of a 1990's catalogue. The art is uninteresting. The layout near the opened kitchen makes for a constantly busy floor with no intimacy. The room is frigid and loud. Food. If at the least the food was great, there might be cause for awarding this restaurant a few more stars, but the food is tasteless and way overprice. My small piece of branzino 'never frozen' swam in greasy sauce while my 'seafood salad' was nothing more than a few leaves of lettuce pickled with sugary dressing stacked negligently over leftover pieces of squid and shrimp. This meager serving set me back $36. Appalling. Honestly, I don't understand how people can award this place 5 stars. There are so many much better places in Houston! Even Pappadeaux would have been better service, better food and better value that this.

Masraff's is a superb restaurant who have put forth their best dishes for restaurant month to benefit the food bank. 3 course fixed price meal had 4-5 outstanding selections for each course. Our guests loved it. Tuna was excellent. Made you want to return in August to try the other dishes! Always special when Tony himself visits your table.

Over to Masraff's to celebrate a friend's birthday. White-haired Tony Masraff came around to chat with us. I ordered from the Houston Restaurant Weeks menu, starting with the roast Texas quail with a sherry vinaigrette. Often the problem with quail is trying to separate the meat from the tiny bones. These were not only juicy and delicious but had already been deboned. I followed with Gulf tilefish with an apricot relish. Hmm. I'd never had tilefish before. It is supposed to be a favorite of foodies because of its "sweet but delicate flavor and firm texture." It did have a nice texture but the sweetness of the sauce overwhelmed the flavor. I'll remain neutral on that one. For dessert I was curious about the chocolate fondant with vanilla cream. Because fondant is a type of icing. It mostly used for decoration and often doesn't taste like much. I queried the waiter about it. He said it was chocolate cake with ice cream. Sounded good to me. It turned out chocolate fondant is Masraff's term for a molten chocolate lava cake. It's not an unusual dessert, although Masraff's was clearly made in house and was very good, much better than when I've had it in other restaurants.

Anniversary dinner. Everything was cooked to perfection. Foie Gras and Bison for me and Crab Cake and Snapper for hubs. Great atmosphere and our waitress gave impecable service. Enjoyed our conversation with the owner who went to every table to talk to guests. Highly recommend and can't wait to go back.

I had a good dinner here with business associates this week. It was fairly busy for a Monday evening. Shared appys. The calamari was unique. Not my favorite. Branzino special for dinner was good (the bacon risotto was the best part). Wine was fabulous. We had a Brunello and a Cab. The wine list is extensive and EXPENSIVE. We convinced each other to have the truffle sampler with our last sips of wine and it was a great way to end the meal. Service was even. I’d go back.

Went here on 12/21/2021 for lunch. The service was fantastic but that is where it ended. The room was so loud my wife and I could not hear each other talking. I didn’t know Christmas music was playing in the background until I went to the restroom during the meal. Our food was at best worthy of the lowest end restaurant you could imagine. My wife had the Southwestern Quinoa Salad. It looked and tasted like they cooked some quinoa, opened a can of corn and beans and dumped it on top. I had the Parmigiana Crusted Chicken. Words fail me for how terrible it was. It was almost inedible. If there was Parmigiana on it, it was in such small amounts as to be indistinguishable. On top there were these white blobs which turned out to be some form of unidentifiable cheese. The Linguine under it was rubbery and tough. For a restaurant that advertises as high end, it completely missed in my opinion. We will never return to the establishment.

We took advantage of "restaurant weeks" to try this place for the first time and were glad we did. We requested a table in the wine cellar which was very nice and quiet. The other rooms are a little bit noisy. We both had Alaskan Halibut and is was amazing.

Went there for a working lunch with colleagues, great choice! Service was impeccable & the food was great. The lunch menu is varied enough to not feel stuck having just salads or a burger and the fish was outstanding!

North Italia is an amazing restaurant. We started with the grilled artichokes and they were amazing! I believe any dish you try will be a very tasty bite. Everything my wife and I had was absolutely delicious. I would recommend this restaurant. The staff is knowledgeable and the atmosphere is great. You will not be disappointed!

We had a great meal - the restaurant itself is lovely inside and from the time we walked in we were made to feel really welcome. Our waiter (Daniel) was very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly and the food (starter was calamari, mains were snapper and tuna) was absolutely delicious. Would definitely visit again

Quiet and relaxing in the “wine” room. Great ambiance in a quiet room. You could actually hear the other guests speaking, without having to raise your voice. Many restaurant now are so noisy you can’t hear your friends talking to you. The service was terrific; On the spot but not intrusive. Food was delicious as usual and the suggestions by our waiter were great. This is always a go to spot for us with great variety on the menu! Anyone you bring could find something wonderful for dinner. You must have the donut holes for dessert! Delicious!

I recently attended a private dinner at Masraff’s and it was elegant and right on point for a business dinner. Located in a strip in the outskirts of Houston, Masraff’s has an American menu with plenty of fish and meat options for diners. I had the salad and some filet mignon and both were well prepared and tasty. I know they aren’t the most complex items - but you can mess them up in the kitchen! The service was professional and attentive with refills and nice demeanor. The owner also stopped by the table briefly to say hello - I suspect he makes the rounds every evening he is there. A serviceable option for an elegant and quiet dinner as a couple or for a business conversation.

Went for lunch thinking there was a HRW menu - not. That’s ok they have a lunch menu and it’s extensive. The garlic Calamari appetizer is one of the best dishes I’ve tried all year at any restaurant. 5/5. However, the crabcake fell short of our expectations, was somewhat dry and the texture was way off for us. 2/5. Salad with seared tuna was on point, well-dressed and fish very fresh. Also halibut was nice and fresh, but the risotto a bit heavy. Overall a 4 for the food, but a 5 for the service - the manager Thurston was very friendly and helpful. He’s the kind of guy I’d want managing my dining room.

I’ve been coming to the Galleria area for the past eight months and this is been on my list for sometime now. I finally made it last week and I’m so glad, definitely one of the best restaurants in Houston. They had extensive menu for Houston restaurant week, which is actually an entire month. I sat at the bar, as I was by myself, but they had a full menu and the staff took great care of me. The owner came around a couple of times to keep an eye on things and say hi to folks. I really like that, it shows the owners care about it. For a starter I had the avocado lump crab cake tower. It was very unique and very delicious I loved! The main entrée was the lamb and it was excellent as well. Not many chefs know how to do lamb properly, but this kitchen certainly does. It was not too dry, Still some with juicy and tender. Spices and seasoning on it we’re just right it was excellent. Desert had to be the boozy milkshake, again of your unique dessert, but it was excellent... the cookies and the milkshake are so good. I was stuffed, but not overly so, the plates are well portioned and not excessive. It has a modern finish and ambience, but lots of privacy, small nooks with tables. A hugely extensive wine list, it was a serious book of wines. I will definitely be coming back here.

G, Michael was super attentive - truly very special; we felt like we were his only table. The food was fabulous. Excellent! We took advantage of Houston Restaurant Weeks and the fixed pricing and were so glad we did. A great dining experience.

Tried Masraff’s for the first time during restaurant week. Had the set menu. The gumbo was excellent! Dark but not burnt. The filet was perfectly cooked with an nice side of lobster mac and cheese. Finished off with a light napoleon desert. Nice wine by the glass selections as well. My wife had the Halibut and it was also very good. Will be back.

My wife contracted one of Masraff's private rooms for a small dinner party to celebrate my birthday and the entire experience was wonderful. The setting was comfortable, the service was outstanding with "no" not being in their vocabulary and the waiter making great wine suggestions and the food was delicious, especially the bread pudding cake for dessert. We highly recommend Masraff's for a small meal or a dinner party.

Masraff's has a long standing history as one of Houston's top restaurants. It offers delicious American cuisine with fresh ingredients, always cooked to perfection. I am not a big fan of the modern decor at the new Galleria location, but it is a great spot for business gatherings, away from other busy lunch spots. I frequently have lunch or dinner there and have never been disappointed by anything on the menu.

The place lost its charm when it moved to the strip mall. The food is very predictable and well - boring.

Masraff's has friendly service and nice food selections. The chef creates a French twist off of local cuisine that really is enjoyable and nice. They have a strong wine selection--always wonderful, and the team cares that your food is high quality. It is a romantic spot, good for business, or nice for special occasions.

Four couples visited Masraff's for dinner during HRW and we all thoroughly enjoyed our food. From the time we entered, we were greeted by no less than 4 employees and made to feel right at home. Our waiter was very attentive, quite knowledgeable of the menu and provided EXCELLENT suggestions. The atmosphere is wonderful and the owner stops by each table to check on his patrons enjoyment level in dining; needless to say, you feel like family. Try the Garlic Seared Calamari, even if the thought of calamari doesn't appeal to you, I promise you are missing out on a delightful dish if you pass this by. We enjoyed the Filet Mignon, Pan Roasted Alaskan Halibut and Diver Scallops. I can't even describe how amazing these dishes were...from presentation to taste; impeccable. For dessert, the Warm Double Chocolate Fondant is not a typical chocolate cake...Devine is the only way to describe its luciousness. Masraff's is an excellent choice for any special occasion, you will not be disappointed. You are made to feel quite special from the moment you enter. From the waitstaff to the food to the atmosphere, Masraff's delivers effortlessly.

Dining with several couples for the last Saturday night of restaurant week. We try each other's meals. Calarmari was excellent, but small portion. I had the filet which was perfect and a good portion. I tried the halibut and duck ravioli also fantastic. Now I would have to agree with one of my friends the lamb was not up to there standard. I've had better in Saudi Arabia. All the desserts on the list were crazy good, we asked for bread pudding off the list and it was absolutely the best! 4 bottles of wine and outstanding service.

The first most impressive thing about Masraff's is that the owner really cares about your dining experience. Many times, you may see the owner at the opening of a restaurant or during the first few month of business, but after the reviews start rising, the owner no longer brings the personal touch of his or her presence. The owner actually came by our table to check on us as our dining experience was nearing an end. A member of our group who dines at Masraff's frequently explained that the owner comes by every night to table to ask diners about their experience. With that said, our group met at the bar to order drinks while we waited for everyone to arrive. As we shared drinks, our waiter offered to take our drinks to the table after a table became ready. Our waiter was attentive throughout our dining, frequently checking on us to make sure we had everything we needed. I ordered the filet mignon that came with one side to which I was allergic, so the waiter suggested a great substitute. The steak was well prepared and I enjoyed the meal. I also had a vegetarian colleague who was provided with menu suggestions to accommodate his dietary restrictions. In addition to the good food and excellent service, the decor adds to the experience. The overall feel is one of calmness due to the lighting and art. There is also large wall sized window that allows a view outside of the restaurant. I would recommend this restaurant for dining any time but especially after a harrowing or stressful workday.

I have been with 2 colleagues. We had Branzino and was really good however if I see the pricing and the location to me looks a little bit overpriced. 250 USD for a good dinner but nothing extraordinary for e pax is a bit go much. To keep anyway in mind as alternative.

Liked the seafood and the beef filet..The make good cocktails and the wines by the glass are a good mix..The restaurant has professional wait staff and is very attractively designed..You couldn't go wrong with a meal here...

Bartender made a great martini just like I do at home. Excellent food. Be prepared to drop $100-150 for 2 people. More if you get additional drinks.

Read reviews for this restaurant and had to try it. We weren't disappointed. Service was excellent and attentive without be annoying. Server was friendly and very helpful in dinner selections . Went to celebrate a milestone birthday.

We selected this place based on the reviews I read here. We were not disappointed. The service by Adam was first class. The food was delicious and the presentation superb. We did not get to meet Mr. Masraff, but he does sound like someone who truly cares about his establishment. That goes a long way to insuring the quality of all that I have mentioned. I highly recommend this restaraunt.

Great food and ambiance. The calamari appetizer was very tasty. Excellent tuna and scallops. Extensive wine list. Good dessert menu and great coffee.

Very good food. Would have given it 5 stars but the restaurant needs updating. And there were gnats flying around. JT made our experience memorable.

The Boston chopped salad could not be better and the daily risotto is always out of this world, perfectly prepared. The bread is outstanding particularly the focaccia which happens to also be the best in Houston. The Bison ribeye is the best anywhere--Houston or beyond--and their wine specials by the glass--Silver Oak Cab tonight--how can you improve on that? You can't. The foie gras is also perfect and the absolute best I've had anywhere as is the calamari (unusual in an extremely tasty and good way). Add the fact that the owner(Tony) makes the rounds and gets to know his guests and you won't find a better place to have lunch or dinner anywhere in Texas. Period. Love this PLACE!!

Was looking for a place to have my supper, Then two men i "uniform" catched my attention. They confirmed that Masraff was a Restaurant. (An excellent one actually.) Waiters were there for me.o) They serve seafood, the dinner was a pleasure, nice served, aroma and taste was perfect, I almost felt the seaside approaching. (As a Norwegian I really appreciate seafood prepared with respect and dignity.) I was approached by a polite gentleman, I thought he was a guest, but realised that it was Mr. Masraff himself walking around to ensure that his guests had a nice time. I guess it is an expencive place, but to me it was modest (would have paid more for a less perfect dinner at home. Houstoners, I envy you having this restaurant in your town.

This restaurant is way beyond wonderful! We had a good dinner with everyone choosing something different. We had lobster and duck, calamari and scallops, and a wonderful flank steak! Could not pass up the wonderful desserts! Would certainly recommend it for a "special" meal.

Another gem of a meal from one of Houston 's best restaurants. The special menu for Restaurant Week did not disappoint with many protein choices and appetizer choices ranging from soup to salad to calamari. Wife and I both ordered the duck confit ravioli-- wonderful mushroom sauce. I had the lamb while she had the filet with Mac and cheese. Nice portions and done to perfection. The wine list is extensive and the Pinot Noir complemented the entrees well.

Fabulous service, wonderful food, great atmosphere. Late birthday dinner for my husband. As we were going to a concert downtown at 8 pm we opted for an early dinner with reservations at 6. We told the waiter we needed to leave by 7:15, he was very accommodating, listened to our requests and made sure we had the meal quickly. Lump crab tower had at least a two inch tall tower of pure crabmeat--wonderful. Filet mignon cooked to perfection and the veggies were enough and well cooked. We will return...our new favorite restaurant when we make a trek into the city!

One of my all time favorite restaurants. Excellent food and superb service The decor is very modern with low lighting for a romantic meal I had my favorite appetizer. The grilled garlic Calamari- best in town. Then I had the bison ribeye which was awesome. Great wine list

I went there this past weekend for the last week of Houston Restaurant Weeks. Everything was amazing! The service and food were outstanding, not to mention the food presentation was like the food magazines. We will definitely be going there again!

We moved to Houston 12 years ago and this place, although it has changed locations, is still in our top 5 for Houston. Excellent food with friendly service at a reasonable price. Overall, just a great place to eat. And the wine list is wonderful, both red and white.

Owners are wonderful and they took care of us sincerely. The personnel explained what was on the menu one by one so we knew what we were eating. Clean, tidy and beautiful atmosphere.

The service was great and the appetizers were even better! The calamari, shrimp ravioli and crab cake was amazing! My Bison ribeye wasn't quite as good. Worth going back, but I'll just order a bunch of apps next time.

Service started out great - bread brought out, wines suggested all prior to my clients arrival. Once they arrived (and they are frequent diners here) things seemed to go wrong. Drinks were not made as ordered and food prepared with exactly what my client asked to ensure it did not have. The food was delish but the PM service could use some help.

This restaurant has been amazing for years! Love the food, atmosphere and service! They have everything from steaks to seafood. Cheers!

The food and service is simply great. I had a very good seafood gumbo, and the Filet Mignon was so good - the Maine lobster pot pie was absolute delicious. The wine is very good.

My wife and myself went to Maraff's for Valentine's day 2020. The menu was a set 3-course meal with 5 selections in each course. We also had a pairing of wine with the meal. Now when I say that it was some of the best food I have ever tasted, that is not an understatement. The food was phenomenal, our server was outstanding, and Mr Tony Masraff even came to our table to wish us happy anniversary. We will definitely be coming back to Masraff's in the future.

This place is good for some things..... I would not say they have the best steaks but their seafood is good. The chef is pretty consistent.. I would this would a good meeting place in the bar area for after work..... Will come back and see if they have been consistant... They talked at one point about opening another location

We have been wanting to try this very good restaurant for awhile. Houston Restaurant Week was the perfect time. We had invited a friend to join us and had a delicious meal. The filet and lamb were straight off the regular menu, perfectly cooked and a treat. The spinach salad and crab/avocado tower appetizers were also delightful. The desserts here are also quite good. The warm sugar and cinnamon donuts were especially tasty, as was the peach crostata. Lastly Mr. Masraff also comes by each table to ask if everything is alright and also to thank the diners for their patronage! Quite a classy touch in today’s world! We will be back!

Went for a business mixer. Had many appetizers. Waiter was great. Food was very good. Nice place easy access from freeway. I'll be back soon

Three of us went, two of us had fish, these two were not impressed! We were hopeful because the bread basket was delicious as was the foie gras. The Special was a Grouper could not have been more bland. The tomahawk pork chop was good but dry. I had the Red Snapper and if it hadn’t been for the risotto it wouldn’t have had any flavor. All three of us were truly disappointed. Their wine selection is the best thing aside from the atmosphere! Lovely Interior! Our wait staff was on point and accommodating. Unfortunately I doubt we’ll go back.

We tried Masraffs for first time during restaurant week promotion and we will be going back again soon -- great find in the Galleria area. Wait staff was superb with recommendations. Paired wine for both the steak and seafood dishes at the table. Filet was cooked to perfection and presentation was outstanding. Halibut and Ribeye were excellent as well. Setting does not quite have the uniqueness of Marks but food and wait staff make this a fast rising replacement option as our favorite place in town

Really enjoyed this restaurant. Very popular. Excellent menu and wine list. Service was excellent. Enjoyed Mr. Masraff stopping by our table to chat.

We visited this restaurant with some friends and colleagues, the attention was good and food was tasty. Recommended restaurant if you are visiting Houston.

This year, I chose Masraff's for my annual birthday dinner, and I could not have made a better choice. I love having an August birthday because I get to enjoy the wonderful Houston Restaurant Weeks menus. We had a mid-size group (9), and our server did a terrific job of answering questions, making recommendations, and managing a group of foodies in general! I chose the calamari for my first course. Holy calamari! Is it possible to say that I had the best calamari of my life in this fabulous dish?! The mushroom-soy combination was exquisite, and for an appetizer, I was pleasantly surprised at the portion size. As Masraff's is known for their steak, I ordered the filet mignon a la plancha. Though the chef recommends medium rare, the server (so sorry that I forgot his name!) recommended medium. I don't know how he knew, but he could not have guessed better. It was outstanding. The lobster potatoes were the most delectable thing I've tasted in a long time, and the filet was perfectly cooked. I literally cleaned my plate. Dessert was the scrumptious butterscotch bread pudding. The butterscotch is a nice addition to an old favorite. I've had some amazing bread puddings in my lifetime, but this is definitely in the top three! We also had a sweet visit from Mr. Masraff - such a gem! I can't believe I've waited this many years to try this outstanding restaurant.

I hadn’t been in a long time, and the first time I went was with a large group outside. Inside is really beautiful, simple, but artistic. The menu is not too extensive, but has a good variety of options. I started with the chopped salad, it was delicious. I loved the flavors, it was just no nonsense. My main was the sea bass, it was fantastic. I enjoyed the combination of ingredients, and spices. We ended off with the donuts, so yummy. Service was perfect, atmosphere was great for having a conversation with your date or friends.

Professional society luncheon for about 50 people featured Chopped Boston Salad, Crispy Chicken Roulade and Lemon Meringue Cheesecake. Everything was beautifully presented (sorry, no pictures), and my table companion said each course was delicious. I, unfortunately, was scheduled for a medical procedure and was unable to eat anything but clear broth. Was this a problem? Absolutely not! Masraff's served me a tasty broth, and the accommodating wait staff offered a non-dairy sorbet for dessert. And that, folks, is a quality restaurant.

After being in Houston Texas for many years and a foodie, we try to visit Masraff's at least 3 to four times a year. Always the best.

Went here for a group lunch during the week. Service from our waiter Adam could not have been better but the food was hit or miss. I was with a party of 12 and ordered the tenderloin meatloaf with potatoes. The meatloaf was dry and was mixed with too much bread, it was supposed to be barbque but had no bbq flavor. The potatoes however were great, a mixture of hash brown style with bacon and cheese. My wife had a crab salad and she said it was great. My mother had linguine with shrimp and while it looked good she said it was too spicy and her garlic bread she said was hard. Pricing was a little on the high side but not terrible. They do offer fish dishes but no one had these choices. I believe the menu was for dinner and lunch.

Friendly greeting, easy parking, varied menu and an excellent wine list. Wait staff are professional, knowledgeable and attentive. The Duck ravioli is particularly good, similarly the cheese bread before the meal

My wife and I hit Masraff's early on a Saturday at 6:30 just as the restaurant began to fill up. We had the typical salad-entree- dessert spread and it was wonderful. The service and food were exceptional. The menu is not extensive but I would challenge you to find anything that doesn't make your mouth water. Tripadvisor lists this as 4$ but most entrees are between $22 and $48. We had 5 dishes and a glass of wine for $125. Its not cheap but it didn't break the bank for a fancy night out without the kids. The staff was very friendly - from the hostess & waitress to the guy sweeping leaves at the front door. If you are in the area don't pass it up.

The lamb chops were delicious, and a big portion. I could only eat 2 of the 3. The third one will be a snack at home.

This is my first visit to the 'new' Masraff's location. I had frequented the original location numerous times over the years. The setting and the atmosphere was completely different. This time more upscale, bright and open. Our waiter seemed out of sync. He seemed to be on top of a few nearby tables but not ours. The food, overall, was good. I thought that my Caesar salad was a bit lame. It did not have the zest of a typical Caesar. My seared tuna was excellent and perfectly prepared but it may have been sitting a touch too long as it got cold when I was only half way through it. Still, excellent flavor, very fresh. Wines were nice but on the pricey side for what they are. I would go back with the understanding that the food was good, the ambiance was excellent, and there are better restaurants all around the Post Oak / Galleria / Uptown Park area for the price.

First class in every way! Excellent service, wine and drinks, menu choices ...all prepared and served perfectly. A bit pricey, but then, the excellence is worth it. Splurge and enjoy!

We had a business dinner here! This is during restaurant week. Great wine, food and service. It was a wonderful dinner and business meeting! Thanks

We were part of a large business group. Service was outstanding. Food was better. Genuinely nice people.

We were here for Houston Restaurant Weeks. The calamari is great and the sauce amazing, very different from other places. Lamb was perfectly cooked and again an amazing sauce. Sticky pudding dessert was great, usually don't finish this course, but husband helped as it was too good to leave on plate. Kenneth even has our plates decorated for our anniversary. He has attentive and made great recomendations.

We had valentines dinner at Masraff's. Dinner cost $75.00/pp plus drinks, tax and tip. This restaurant has the most tasty fusions. Different from traditional American cuisine, they combine other cuisines (Asian, European, Indian...) to creat their own flavor. The owner came by to visit our table...he commented that this past years "restaurant month" his restaurant was number one in Houston and he was able to donate a large amount to charity...he was very proud of this accomplishment, and well should be...we have always enjoyed Masraff's and now we know that the kitchen isn't the only thing special, the owner is a very kind hearted person that loves Houston and gives back to the community.

I love Masraff's! Top notch service, atmosphere and food and drinks. Every server we have had has been awesome and I highly recommend.

We arrived at Masraff's a few minutes before our 6:30pm reservation for dinner to celebrate our anniversary. We were warmly greeted. Our Open Table request for a booth was granted. After we were seated cozily, we opened the extensive wine list to search for a Cabernet Sauvignon - we were so pleased with our selection from the Rodney Strong winery. We loved the olives served quickly after seating. For our dinner, we selected salads, fish, and dessert. Both salads were scrumptious. The fish was outstanding and perfectly cooked. He had the halibut and she had the salmon special of the evening. For anniversary dessert, we shared the pear creme brulee, which was a baked pear with the creme on top. Deeee-licious! Our server, Tabby, was fun, attentive, delightful in conversation, and dedicated to our culinary wishes - couldn't have asked for a better server. This was the best anniversary dinner we could have asked for. We love Masraff's!

I was staying at a nearby hotel and spotted an up-scale strip mall with a Lubby's, California Pizza Kitchen, and Five Guys. So I headed over and stumbled upon Masraff's. Considering the other three service offerings in the same strip mall, the upscale Masraff's comes as a big surprise. I had the Roasted Duck and my mouth is still watering. The meat was melt-in-your mouth tender and the light sauce was delicious. It was served with a sweet potato puree that was fantastic. The presentation was amazing as well. The servers were very attentive and knew the menu inside and out. This is an upscale restaurant and everyone was dressed accordingly: men in slacks and dress shirts and women in dresses.

Masraff's serves terrific and creative dishes for lunch and dinner. They have a nice assortment of salads and outstanding entrees. I had the grouper with asparagus--wow! It tasted wonderful and was displayed beautifully on the plate. The service is quite good, and they offer valet parking if desired. When in the Galleria area, it is a terrific place to dine!

I can't think of one negative thing to say about this beautiful place...the decor, the food, the ambiance, the food, the service, the food...all fantastic. Just the right amount of attention; no hovering or rushing; courteous and friendly; helpful and accommodating. When we asked for a quieter table, No Problem...we were given a couple of options without a fuss.

Went for first time because of Restaurant Week, did not know much about the restaurant. Some of our party of 6 had seen the owner on TV recently and caused them to suggest going here. For Restaurant Week they have special menu’s. This one had 3 courses. For first course I had bacon wrapped quail and my wife had the baby spinach salad. The quail was very good. For 2nd course I had the filet mignon and wife had the pan roasted Alaskan halibut also very very good. For dessert, we had the summer sorbet & warn chocolate fondant – good way to end meal. The whole group enjoyed everything they selected, it was great, just great food. The service was also very, very good. For a surprise for us the owner walked by and said hello. Plan to go again soon.

This was my first visit. Ate in the bar area, comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. Shared the calamari starter which was so tasty and not like any calamari I had eaten before - definitely worth a try. The Lamb rack was huge and cooked to perfection. Bread pudding to die for. The owner stopped by to check everything was ok which was a nice touch too. Service is efficient and discrete.

Everything about Masraff's is fabulous. The menu is outstanding, wonderful wine list, very beautiful and relaxing atmosphere and attentive staff. Four of us met here for a business dinner and had a excellent experience. Would most definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great meal.

We found this restaurant a few years ago while on business in Houston. The lunch left such an impression on us that while traveling in Houston, we always spoke of it. Last night, we found ourselves arriving to Houston later than planned and we saw the restaurant was close by. Google maps showed open but we cut the timing close and they told us they shut the kitchen and would see what they could do. We said we would eat at the bar and even a salad would suffice. They came back and said, we want you to enjoy your meal, take your time and order whatever you would like! Wow! We ordered a Caesar Salad with chicken that had the best flavor ever, and the crab cake. The crab cake was pure crab. They made us feel so comfortable, the manger came up and started talking to us as well as different staff members. They made us feel like we were long time, valuable customers. I cannot wait to go back for a full meal and wouldn’t hesitate to host a Client dinner or event there. Best restaurant we have been to in a while in Houston.

Following the advice of many TripAdvisor's reviewers, we found this excellent restaurant. The dining room is very nicely decorated. Service is impeccable. As soon we arrived, our marvelous server, Lucy, who was always smiling and who guided our selections and was very helpful, brought warm bread, butter and olives. I had a wonderful Baby Spinach salad, with goat cheese, walnuts and garlic vinaigrette, followed by a spectacular Grouper served over a risotto with asparagus. shrimp and tempura crawfish and broccolini. For dessert, a perfect warm double chocolate fondant, with ice cream and creme anglaise. I look forward to trying more dishes at Masraff;s, since every single bite we had was delicious.

My wife and I joined two other couples for our first visit to Masraff's as a part of Houston restaurant week. Everything started out to be an outstanding evening with the restaurant comping crab cakes for each couple. Very nice touch and the crab cake was superb. Appetizers offered as a part of the fixed menu choices were a spinach salad, garlic calamari, and bacon wrapped quail to name a few. All were exceptional. I had the calamari and would highly recommend it. For the main course the lamb chops and filet all received high marks although my halibut was a bit over cooked and dry. Desserts were exceptional as well with the roasted pear creme brûlée, ice cream topped chocolate cake(?) and freshly baked cinnamon sugar donut holes all getting a thumbs up. The one disappointment, besides the halibut was the service. It started out being exceptional but once we received our main course and stopped ordering cocktails, it was as if our waiter pretty much dropped us, moving on to others. We tried multiple times to get the attention of a waiter to order coffee and get a refill of drinks. One waiter stopped by and basically blew us off, stating he was sure our waiter was on it. 10 minutes later another waiter stopped by and was very attentive, tending to our needs. It's really too bad things ended on a down swing when everything up until then was for the most part superb. All in all, we'll give it another shot for a special occasion in the future.

We had a business dinner on the Wednesday and was so impressed we went back on the Saturday to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Service was great but we go to restaurants for the food. We had a starter which was a combo whereby we swapped what we could eat and couldn't eat. A few food intolerance issues. I was so impressed with the sea bass that i recommended it for the better half. She loved it. I went for the fish special which was superb. Well this is the best restaurant we have eaten at in Houston food wise. Service was very good without being overpowering. They seemed to get it right on both nights.

I hadn't been to Masraff's in a couple years, but it won't be so long between our next visit. We were celebrating my elderly Mother in Law and had a perfectly wonderful lunch. The decor is modern with super comfortable chairs. Our service was impeccable and the food was outstanding. The grilled tenderloin meatloaf on a bed of hericote verte & potatoes is amazing! Their crab cakes are 100% crab and so delicious. Our waiter did his job to perfection. Our family of six left with nothing but smiles on our faces.

Arrival/hostess: I dined early for dinner while on a business trip to Houston. The restaurant was nearly empty and I was promptly seated without a reservation. Overall dining experience: fine dining but service was not attentive. I was eating solo and the waitress forgot about me a couple of times. Ambiance: modern Food: focus is on quality cuisine and presentation. I had the soup of the day and fresh halibut. The soup was excellent, and the halibut was simply perfect. And the presentation was artful with asparagus decorating the halibut. Cleanliness: overall clean including clean bathrooms

Birthday lunch for friends. Excellent food and service. I have eaten at Masraffs several times and have always had good, fresh food and a pleasant dining experience. Some areas have a louder buzz so if you don't want that, you can request seating in a quieter area. It's good for special event dining and business lunch/client dinner meetings.

We stopped by Masraff's to dine on a Thursday evening. Some years ago, you would have been hard pressed to find a table on a Thursday evening. The evening we visited, the Eastern part of the restaurant was closed off, and of the remaining dining area, half the tables were empty. Perhaps the open kitchen doesn't help - you absorb kitchen smells in your clothing - or perhaps some innovation in the menu would be welcome. The quail breast was a bit dry and so was the Halibut; the pan seared red snapper was better, but the menu has become somewhat tired and not novel. The place is still pretty inside and there are plenty of waitstaff, so we would hate to see this traditional place decline.

This restaurant always pleases. The preparation is always exciting and delicious and cooked to perfection. The staff always goes above and beyond to make sure you have a great experience. There is nothing bad on this menu but I love every seafood dish! Great place for a celebration meal!

The lentil soup was awesome. Very creamy with good flavor. My seafood linguine was very fresh and nice sauce and flavor. Mussels were right from the sea. Wonderful bread. Wife says crab cakes are some of the best she has had. Attentive service. Fair pricing.

My family dined with Masraff's on Christmas Eve, Needless to say, every table in the restaurant was full and there were many large groups with lots of children. Indeed, there was a nice party atmosphere and the restaurant was probably noisier than it would have been normally. But it was lovely. The food was great and the chef accommodated all the "modifications" that my elderly mother made to to menu. The owner of the restaurant personally visited each table, introduced himself and made sure that everybody was happy. The service was superior--attentive and well paced. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

This is an excellent choice for a well executed dinner. The service is spot on. My wife and I both enjoyed the halibut special which was served on a couscous patty with crab meat. Desserts of bread pudding and cream brûlée were yummy. An easy five stars!

Remarkable- Screaming greatest customer service, hands down in 2018. I visited over the weekend, was pleasantly greeted upon arrival with a friendly and inviting representative at the door. I made an inquiry and was advised to return between 2-4 for more information. Upon my arrival the second time, the next attendant was just as professional, kind and friendly and prompt to adhere to the reason for my visit. The manager made me to feel like my presence was wanted and welcomed. I’ve done many reviews but I think it’s important to mention when the level of service is bar-none!

We self parked and valet avail No RSVP @630 on Sat but we were seated in lounge overlooking water fountain Service was helpful Calamari was excellent, not fried appetizer Tuna and scallop duet was amazing Red snapper excellent - ask for sauce on side Granny Smith Apple bread pudding sinful Highly recommended, mostly older crowd

Seriously fantastic. The fish was ridiculously fresh. We asked abd were told it's flown in by FedEx every morning and whole fish ishand filleted by the chef/owner. We had the diver scallops and Alaskan wild salmon and both were amazing. The butterscotch bread pudding is wonderful. The wine menu is extensive at like 700 bottles but reasonably priced. The service was impeccable. Definitely a high quality locally owned restaurant. Try it

Masraff has a good menu, the food is good, the service is good, but nothing stands out. It is upscale but it is missing something to distinguish itself, especially with the large array of upscale restaurants Houston now offers. Place is well designed, but lacks a special atmosphere. We never think of Masraff when looking for a place to dine out, but always stumble upon it almost by coincidence. It is not my first choice, but it is my last either. A bit stuck in the middle.

All the pictures look really great but just the food taste great not really this place was good when it first opened but now it's kind of overrated I guess it's more of the location that anything that draws people to this place

I met a friend for lunch on a Tuesday. This was my first visit, the service was excellent, and it has a very interesting menu. We had calamari (recommended by our hostess) and seared Foi Gras - both were excellent. We both had the special, a fish from New Zealand - flaky, expertly cooked with a hint of spice. The food was all very good - but there were gnats flying around - which is awkward for an indoor restaurant. No dessert this time, but I had a nice cappuccino was served. Easy parking or valet. Great looking meeting rooms of various sizes. I will definitely go back.

We've been coming here since their original location. The food is always outstanding as is the service. Particularly noteworthy is their use of fresh fish that you generally won't find elsewhere, always prepared in interesting ways. The apple tarte tatin dessert is to die for.

A popular fine dining restaurant with a nice vibe, lovely atmosphere and fantastic food. We have visited this restaurant numerous times in the past as a couple and also with some friends. I fully recommend their Garlic Seared Calamari l and Jumbo Lump Crab Cake. They are delicious. Same goes with their steaks and lamb racks. Succulent juicy meat and tasty. Their sticky toffee pudding is to die for. Customer service was excellent. Staffs were attentive, friendly and efficient.

Great parking, very friendly and cordial staff, Food was well presented and tasty - nothing out of this world, but safe and good. I had the Caesar salad - quite ordinary and the crab cake, which was flavourful and moist. Friends had the steak which was tasty and nicely done.

This is a very elegant but warm and inviting restaurant. The quality of the seafood is amazing. I have mixed feelings about the calamari appetizer. It was okay as far as I am concerned. But the lamb, halibut, and sea bass dishes delivered impressively on taste and freshness. The wine selection was also okay. Wish they had a few Ribera del Duero, Toro o Rioja options available. Overall, you will like this restaurant for a special occasion type meal.

This restaurant positions itself as a fine dining establishment. The service staff is attentive, if not a bit pretentious. But the real problem is the food. It is verging on tasteless. And the attempts at creativity are those of a mad person. Who the heck puts Chilean Sea Bass on top of a bed of cubed potatoes? On top of that, the Sea Bass was watery, overly flaky and virtually tasteless. In retrospect I wonder if it really was Sea Bass. The appetizer was equally poor.

My wife and I have went for the early dinner without any reservation. Restaurant easily accommodated us around 6 pm. The decor, the service and the food were exceptional. Very unusually served calamari are a must for anyone who likes to be positively surprised. The halibut and the duo of tuna and scallop were very well served as well. Overall, a very good tasting experience.

We are in Houston to visit the Space Centre and I reserved a table here based on the excellent TA reviews. So glad I did. We started with great Negronis at the bar and this was followed by the best meal so far on our month long roadtrip of the South. We started with foie gras and the quail pot stickers - both delicious! Followed by lamb chops and the chicken roulade which were cooked & seasoned to perfection (we find that generally a lot more salt is used in cooking here in the US than in the UK). The cheesecake was superb paired with a great dessert wine. Service was professional, efficient and very friendly throughout. The owner stopped by our table at the end of the meal, what a charming man he is and rightly proud of this great restaurant.

Everything was outstanding from the minute we walked in. Staff was efficient, great wine and food. Daniel our server was delightful. Russel Masraff the owner popped by to make sure that we are satisfied with everything and noticed our accent. We had a lovely conversation with him. We thought it was a lovely touch to our whole experience at Masraff. Will definitely recommend it!!!!

Nice dining room, attentive service, but the food was just OK. The table next to us was really loud with the volume increasing as the night wore on. I had the lamb. I must admit I have always had better lamb than what I was served. My wife, son & daughter in law had the Chilean Sea Bass. I know I can prepare sea bass better than what they were served. There are many choices for restaurants in Houston. I do not foresee the circumstances where I would return to Masraffs.

Modern devour, excellent service, beautiful presentation of food, staff was engaging, easy accessibility to restaurant in a large mall

It was my birthday and my favorite food is rack of lamb. Every year we go to Masraff's because they do the best in Houston. All the food was great and the service was excellent.

We enjoyed restaurant week with good friends and fine food, accentuated by top notch service. We'll be back soon.

I've been to Masraff's a few times and have never been disappointed. Whether it's for work or for personal dining you can't go wrong. The seafood is fresh, flown in that day. The specials are excellent and the staff is very informed as well as courteous. You can also order off the menu and customize your dish if you have any special requirements or needs. They are very accommodating. If you're in the Galleria area definitely make it a point to check out for lunch or dinner! It's not the cheapest place but also not the most expensive for the area. Well worth it.

I heard great things about this restaurant; however, I was a bit disappointed. Although the service was impeccable, the food was very bland. We dined from the Houston Restaurant Week menu: Gumbo, blackened snapper, and the chocolate dessert. Both the gumbo and blackened snapper were just average. The dessert...amazing.

Wonderful evening entertaining business guests. Atmosphere was great, quiet enough that we could talk and be heard easily. Everyone enjoyed their dishes. Location is off Post Oak in a nice area with convenient parking and close to the Galleria. Recommend calamari appetizer and anything with ahi tuna.

Atmosphere is good but very loud and I mean very loud. We asked for a quiet table and were given a semi- noisy area with many servants in the general area. I felt like a number of a very large client list and did not feel comfortable. The calamari and crabcakes were good but in all cases, the food was very salty. The fish was good and the filet was average at best. The wine selection was one of the best and we did order a special priced for that night of an exclusive Bordeaux - Margaux third port and it was remarkable with the frut- berries hitting our palates.. it was one amazing wine and worth every penny. We will not return but you can enjoy. The place is overrated,

Our group went to Masraff's for an early dinner last evening. While our friends had never dined here, we had been a number of times. The food and the service have always been stellar, but it can get quite noisy at peak hours. Masraff's Houston Restaurant Weeks menu is quite extensive. Being early diners, we enjoyed the great food and service we've come to expect...no loud parties...why, we felt we had reserved the restaurant for a private dining occasion. Thanks, Mr. Masraff!

From the minute the valet took our car the service was exceptional. Food and choice out of this world. We chose from the restaurant week menu which offered a wide variety of dishes. Each one as enjoyable as the next.

Masraff's continues to be one of our favorite restaurants in Houston. They just always hit it out of the ballpark on food (quality and quantity), service, and ambiance (love the ceiling "fireplace" in the bar area and the wine room seating). When we arrived, we mentioned we had made our reservation on Open Table, but, when they realized we made it for the wrong day, they quickly changed it and said "absolutely no problem, we have a table for you". We told them we were going to have a drink in the bar first and we asked if we might get a table in the wine room area. Again, the "your wish is our command" attitude. Hospitality galore. Love it. We started with a glass of champagne at the bar and that is where we (re)met Brian, the general manager who just seems like a really nice guy. We learned from Brian that when Harvey hit, the owners/management made the decision NOT to have their employees come in that day (and you can bet they still paid them) as they did not want them to put themselves or their families in any danger. They also ended up cooking a bunch of their food and sending it to Mattress Mac who was feeding first responders. (Their hospitality here go beyond the restaurant walls.) Our service at the bar was nice and all the servers who came to get drinks for other guests in the restaurant all said "hi" to us. As August 1 was the first day of Houston Restaurant Weeks, this was our first HRW choice. Their HRW menu has FIVE choices each for the starter, the main course and the dessert! There was a 150% chance that we were going to like something on this menu. In fact, as usual, we liked everything, so we had to resort to the old process of elimination trick. (Ex: I had pork this week, so that ruled out the pork, etc.) So, here is what we chose: Husband: Garlic Seared Calamari (delicious); Filet Mignon (delicious); Texas Peach Crostata (delicious); Me: Jumbo Lump Crab Salad (delicious); Australian Rack of Lamb (delicious); Boozy Milk Shake and Cookies (delicious). Anyhoo....last, but certainly by no means least, we had a great server - Kenny - from Nigeria, no less. He was kind, knowledgeable and fun. He took stellar care of us. Also, Tony, one of the owners, came over to thank us for being there. He has that good old-fashioned restaurant class of yesteryear. Think we will be back? You bet. Maybe even for another HRW dinner (or lunch). See you there!

I was here for a business meal. It was fabulous. I had the sea scallops which were very good. A colleague had the pork chop at the recommendation of the server. The server knew his stuff. It looked great. My colleague said it tasted great too.

A very sophisticated place that combines excellent food, great wines and extremely good service. We went here for a business dinner. The service from the minute we arrived was perfect and this was followed up with great food. The prices follow what is a very high end place but i would say the value is there and i would not hesitate to to go back either for business or pleasure

Last night we welcomed an out-of-town friend with a small dinner at Masraff. We had an excellent table, although a bit too close to the open kitchen, so our clothes absorbed the aromas of the food being prepared. Service was prompt, polite, yet friendly. The first wine I ordered was not available and the next two from the wine list were represented by a single bottle each, insufficient for a party of seven; this is not a good practice today, when wine lists can be updated daily on a tablet or a laptop, The food selection was, as usual excellent, with a couple of specials added for good measure. We had mixed appetizers while we reviewed the menu, and it is clear they are the strength of the restaurant! The quail was particularly delightful and the rock shrimp ravioli was superb. A Porcini risotto was well-prepared and the portion was perfect for an appetizer, leaving room for the main dish. The Australian Rack of Lamb was among the very best I have ever had. Around me, there were satisfied grunts for the Bison RIbeye, the Veal Chop and the Caramelized Diver Scallops. The desserts looked particularly tempting, but they will have to await our next visit.

One of my favorite spots for dinner or lunch. Excellent food and service. Upscale dining near the Galleria. Many neighborhood folks eat here. Tony Masraff is hands on and it makes a difference.

I went to a company Christmas party here this weekend, and it was outstanding. We started with a variety of passed-out appetizers, and each one was delicious, from the brie balls to the tuna tartare tacos. We were in a lovely room with a Christmas tree and a great view of the lights of the Galleria area. The dinner was equally as delicious, and the service was impeccable. I can't wait to return and have dinner soon.

Overall food quality was below par relative to my previous experiences at Masraff's. Probably due to the HRW and the restaurant seemed super busy. My husband and I patron Masraff's often ( HRW month and other times). The 2016 HRW experience last night was by far the worst. Overall good was still okay. The bacon quail appetizer was the best, consistent with what I'd expect from Masraff's. The tuna tartar could be fresher. My husband's lamb chop was not as good comparing to what we usually had during non-HRW times. For HRW, their menu offerings were amongst the best. However, food quality was sub-par even comparing to 2015's. Overall, this was a disappointment as I have high expectations of Masraff's.

This restaurant is located in Houston's Galleria Mall area, very popular high end to regular shopping, restaurants, stores and more. One of the most walkable areas in Houston with sidewalks (yes, that's is not to be expected everywhere in the city) and very touristy area. The restaurant is very elegant and great for any occasion from business luncheon, meeting lunch, casual get together with friends, for a date or just a drink at the bar. Staff is very friendly and accommodating and the owner is often present and greets customers. Food is delicious and prepared with care. Definitely place to visit.

Decided to try this upscale restaurant on one of our Houston trips and glad we did. The ambiance and atmosphere is very comfortable and the staff are very friendly. We tried the Wild Alaskan Halibut entrees along with a couple of soup (Chicken Tortilla) and Baby Spinach salad appetizers. All were delicious and, while the wine menu could get pricey very quickly, we selected a fine moderately priced Rhone that was easy on the palate as well as the pocketbook. All in all, a very good restaurant and place to relax after a long day at work (or shopping at the Galleria)

My first visit to Massraffs was during Houston restaurant week two years ago. We went here with some friends that had been often who had always had a great dining experience , and ours was pretty much the same that night and the ones to follow. What impressed us most besides the taste of the food that evening was the portion size and plate appearance. Surprisingly even the Houston restaurant week offerings were the same size as their regular menu, which is a stretch for many of the decent restaurants participating in this event . Being such a busy restaurant during restaurant week we thought for sure something would be compromised but it was not . Everything ordered at our table was prepared well and had a wonderful taste, enough to bring us back a few more times over the next two years and definitely a place we will continue to go to as long as the quality of food and service remain consistently good. Massraffs is more upscale dining and definitely worth a visit. I highly recommend any of their fish or scallop dishes. Honestly though I believe what ever you try will likely be terrific. Enjoy !

We found this place by accident when some of the more popular spots acted like they did not want the business for our group of 40. We went twice, once to scope it out and once for our group dinner. Every single detail was spot on, these folks are professionals and Masraff's is not to be missed.

Went to another couple having dinner tonight. We ordered jumbo lump crab tower, bacon wrapped quail and summer ahi tuna tartar. All were very good. Main course we had pan grilled Alaska halibut, Herb roasted rack of Australian lamb and duet of caramelized scallop and Hawaiian big eye tuna. All are 3star to us. Mine was rack of lambs. They weren't marinated well. Too plain. Trio of crime brûlée was very good.

First, the service was excellent...attentive , accurate, efficient, and friendly. The food was very good. Portions are a bit small, but that just means you can sample more dishes. Ambiance was great for business or intimacy. Easy access with plenty of parking.

Wonderful restaurant. Fresh food, nothing comes in frozen, and the fish is all wild caught. We shared appetizers — mussels from up east, fried green tomatoes and the heavenly smoky sautéed squid. The duck breast, the steak and fish flown in from Hawaii were truly delicious. Don’t miss out on the sticky toffee pudding. Wine list also impresses! All of this, and excellent, friendly service. It’s going to be a new favorite.

We had a family dinner celebrating a birthday. Cooper our wait or was one of the best waiters really enhancing our experience. Meeting Tony the owner was another marvelous treat for us. His story was fascinating. The food was some of the best we have eaten. The lamb was the best we have had. The chicken risotto was fabulous. The halibut special was really moist and flavorful. The crab tower was delicious. The tuna tartar was excellant. The filet was phenomenal. The doughnuts and key lime pie were excellant. We wish we were staying another night in town, we would have returned. I can't wait to come back.

Most people go and celebrate Valentine’s Day the evening of February 14, whatever day it falsl on. We decided since we were out and about on this day going to a number of appointments, that after our last appointment at 1 p.m., which lasted until 3 p.m., we would go have our Valentine’s celebration as soon as we were done. At 3:15 p.m. it was not lunch…..not dinner……but, somewhere in between. Boy, was this a great idea! We had the place to ourselves. (We knew they would be packed at dinner and probably lunch, too.) Our server was Armando and he was absolutely fantastic! He not only catered to our every need, he was a very interesting, entertaining and funny young man, so not only did we have a great dining experience, we were entertained the whole time, too! We started, in the spirit of the Valentine, with a bottle of Moet Chandon Rose. From the special Valentine’s Day menu I chose as my first course the calamari which was scrum-dilly-umptious!!! The spouse had the crab cake which was loaded with crab and some funny (in a cute sort of way) delicate little fries on top, almost sea urchin like. For the entrée, I had the “duet” of scallops and tuna. Again, another home run! The spouse had the filet mignon which was perfectly cooked. For the dessert, we had the crème burlee and the bread pudding. We were so stuffed that we did not need the dessert, but it was part of the package and, having been here a number of times before, we knew we would polish them off. (We did save a bit of both of our entrees to take home so we would have room for dessert.) Masraff’s is hands down one of the best fine dining experiences in Houston. (If you are from out of town - splurge!) So much so, that when we want to fine dine at this level, which we cannot do every day, it is hard to go anywhere else. (Keep up the good work!) It was a cold day, and even though their fire place is up high, it is beautiful and looks great in photos. Also, you can either valet park or self-park, so it is nice to have a choice.

The staff was really excellent. The sommelier knew his stuff very well. The quantum of staff repeatedly servicing was impressive. The wine list was a quality wine list. The food was good, but not exceptional. The ceaser salad was below average. The sea bass was above average. On balance, a nice ambiance and good experience.

Excellent food. Classy restaurant. Upscale crowd. Good service. Tony still comes around and makes sure everything is going as expected. A nice touch that many places lack.

Visited Masraff's again this week to celebrate a victorious outcome of three long years' work. The quail breast and duck confit pot stickers with sweet potato puree - velvety, succulent, delicious. Pure Umami. May be the best thing I've EVER tasted? (Sorry Charlie Trotter, may you rest in peace.) In fact, the quail was so perfect that I cannot remember dessert.

Great visit. My first time here with the girls. Service was good. The food presentation was excellent and very tasty. We ordered the avocado crab tower, calamari, rack of lamb, filet mignon, halibut, peach crostata, and fresh berries. All portioned very good! We sat at the bar prior to sitting at our rsvp table, just waiting for the party to arrive. The entire staff was polite and professional. One thing I liked is how all staff had to use a side entrance and not the front door entrance. Every team member that walked in was dressed and ready to work (not adjusting their uniform as if they still need to get ready).

This place was absolutely a gem. The service was amazing. The food was great and We actually met Mr.Masraff, he was so kind and pleasant. We were really pleased and Impressed with everything and we will be visiting again.

This restaurant has wonderful ambiance. The food is excellent and served with incredible service. To top it off, the wine selection is exceptional with a knowledgeable sommelier. The wine was decanted into a beautiful vessel adding art to the table. Highly recommended!

I love their food, everything is sooo good! Best place to visit with my girlfriends when we want to eat good food with European flavor. Seafood is to die for. Rack of lamb wow! Even if you are a vegetarian you will find something that suits your taste.

A good place for a light dinner but not really memorable ... Service was good and Malbec red wine a good surprise.

,they spent a lot of money on the interior this the they try to make up the bland food with service..... I think there better places in town to go

We had recommended Masraff's to my cousin & her husband (who is a Chef and caterer) - they decided they wanted to try for Restaurant Week. Ryan seated us and took care of our drinks - he was great. Lucy was our server and was exceptional! Her recommendations and attention to detail was fabulous. My cousin & I started with the Jumbo Lump Crab Tower, her husband got the Garlic Seared Calamari and my husband ordered the Bacon Wrapped Quail. All were wonderful, but the Calamari was unlike any calamari any of us had ever had...spectacular! For entries, I got the Halibut, my cousin's husband had the Pork Tenderloin and my husband and cousin ordered the Rack of Lamb (both medium rare, but when hers came out it was well, so they took back to re-do...it came out perfectly done. We were amazed how quickly they got this done. All of the entries were delicious! For desserts, we had the Peach Crostata, Berries Napoleon and my husband had the yummy Boozy Milkshake. Mr. Masraff and his son, Russell, both stopped by our table and we talked. Such a warm a personable feeling we all got - felt like we were truly appreciated and dining in their home. We had several bottles of wine - all great! Lucy did a great job & going forward we will ask to be seated at her table. Our family was so pleased - only disappointed they had never been before...but we now know we will all be back. We had a wonderful evening!

I booked a business lunch at Masraff's because the restaurant looked well suited and was close to the Hilton in Galleria where I was staying. Wow, was I surprised! We sat in the patio on a gorgeous spring day. Our waiter was perfectly attentive. He was however apologetic because the dish that both myself and my guest wanted was unavailable. It was chilean sea bass and their daily order had not yet arrived. So, we ordered one of the other temping dishes on the menu. He returned a few minutes later to tell us that the sea bass had just arrived and would we like to cancel our order for the sea bass. We accepted his offer to make the switch and BOY were we glad we did. The Soy and Ginger Glazed Chilean Sea Bass was absolutely amazing. The fish was so fresh and tender with a delicious glaze. It was served with Saffron Poached Yukon Gold Potato Medallions, Sauteed Broccolini, and Pickled Ginger Vinaigrette. The bread served with lunch was creative and tasty. Mr. Masraff even dropped by for a visit. A wonderful business lunch that was made all the more pleasant by great food and service!

We went last Saturday evening. The food and service were excellent (try the crab cake), and having Tony Masraff stop by our table for a chat was a lot of fun. We hadn't been in quite a while, but will most definitely come back.

Hit and miss on food, nice ambiance, good service Food: The calamari appetizer tasted “off.” Our waitress readily substituted another appetizer. We asked for the duck confit ravioli, and it was excellent. Three tail: Tasty fish but skin was soggy. Halibut: slightly overcooked but fresh and flavorful Summary: Food preparation and quality was not commensurate with price. Also, the calamari tasted off, as if it were not fresh. Drinks: Good manhattan Service: attentive service but our waitress was not the most personable Ambiance: modern, classy atmosphere Overall cleanliness: above average Bathroom cleanliness: above average

This place was great! I thought my steak was a little overcooked, but it was still wonderful. Even met the owner, Tony Masraff. Nice guy and I could tell the staff cared. Will definetely be back.

We decided to go to Masraff's for our early Christmas celebration, just the two of us. As always, it is top notch and does not disappoint! We started at the bar with a glass of champagne. Good way to start with some "bubbly". Met some folks at the bar in from Virginia, so had a nice chat. When I went to check on the table setups in the front room by the bar, where we were, and also the back room (much larger), to see which one we wanted to request a seat in, a very sweet hostess came up to me thinking I was looking for the restroom. When I told her my thought process as to where to request the best seat, she totally got it, and helped me pick the best seat near the bar - by the Christmas tree! We studied the menu (and even though not extensive, there are so many good choices!). It came down to a "process of elimination". (I had tuna two nights ago, so that knocked out that dish; I had scallops last week, so that put that dish, although it sounded magnificent, on a back burner, and so on.) We each ended going with the specials (which are always good). I started with the soup du jour which was a tomato soup. Absolutely delicious! It came out hot, hot, hot (in terms of temperature). The bread they serve is heavenly. Watch out! My husband had the baked oysters (3) and they were wonderful. The first bottle of wine we requested they had just run out of (bummer), but we were not discouraged as they have a very extensive wine list. For dinner, I had the Waygu (beef from Japan) special and my husband had the swordfish special. Both were very, very good and beautifully presented. Lastly, and this was a real homerun, was the pear brulee. It was creme brulee on a pear. Wowee. I think the best we have ever had, or one of the best. Loved the way the chef complimented the brulee with the pear. Very creative. Masraff's is hands down a favorite, albeit expensive, so we can't go as often as we like, but when we do, we do it well! Tony Masraff was circling the restaurant talking to guesst and we were delighted that he decided to stop at our table. Thank you, Masraff family, for your gem of a restaurant!

Excellent menu, servir and list of wines. The meal, amazing. One downside, the ambient was too cold.

The food, The Service, The ambience ! All are just A+ Money well spent. I will be returning very soon.

I never fail to have a great meal and experience here. The waitstaff is incredibly efficient and present without ever truly being noticed. Just as it should be. I had the Open-Faced Tuna Sandwich. Outstanding. It could have used a bit of aioli on the side, but even without, it was a great choice. Water was cold and kept full. No rush. No extra intrusions as my lunch partner and I spoke about business. Coffee was excellent. Hot. Strong. Poured at our table. Enjoy Masraff's.

I’ve been here many times (30?) - best place, food, atmosphere everything is great and the best and should be a Michelin star in Houston galleria area. Food can’t be topped anywhere. Except tonight guy working bar sucked (where I have just ordered two appetizers and had a $300 tab a few nights ago with a different guy who was a great, great fun guy). Tonight 12dec 1930 bar guy was rude to waiters (his own) to me, others at bar, service was crap, had to ask for refills and if out of his sequence would wait.m, unless you ordered immediately, pushy, pushy, to order just a bad bad experience ..,avoid this guy. As he saw me typing this message which I made it clear I was, he tried making up and tried to be nice and improved a bit but He Should Not be front staff for anywhere especially super nice place like this. He runes the experience.

Would highly recommend this restaurant. We came for our daughters birthday and our waiter Tony was gracious enough to add a little sparkle to her dessert. Everything we selected for dinner was wonderful and creative. Would definitely make that a stop the next time we are in Houston.

The ambiance was just what we were seeking; elegant without being ostentatious, nominal noise level without being so quiet one would not want to talk at all. The food was excellent and priced reasonably relative to the quality. I would note that the printed menu was somewhat limited as to entrees but there were a number of off-menu "specials." The service was just short of excellent due to non-delivery of a requested after-dinner port, but otherwise timed correctly.

I saw Massraff's featured in a Texas TV program so we decided to go. Excellent service. Wonderful food. My husband and I shared 2 appetizers and both were delicious -- crab cakes and calamari. We'll be back.

I heard such wonderful things about this place. Thomas answered the phone to answer our questions about fish freshness. Thomas is excellent! Great salesman, very cheery, and after answering questions, really drew me to this place. Thomas took our reservation, noted our questions and shared with wait staff. Thomas greeted us at arrival and he remembered us! Excellent customer service. The place is very busy and loud, but Thomas took us to a quiet room to the left. It was intimate and nice with ambient lighting. Our waitress did not share her name with us. She kept our waters filled, but other than that was okay. She did fix our complaint very quickly. Food: We ordered the garlic seared calamari for an appetizer. The dish was a mound of mushrooms in a sauce. I love mushrooms, but this dish is calamari. I want calamari, You have to push through mushrooms to find 4 large squares. Is that the calamari? Seared in my opinion would be something like grilled, but this calamari was breaded. The sauce is suppose to be a reduction, this is almost a soup. My first smell was fish which put me off, but I tried the dish. The sauce made the calamari soggy. Our waitress must have seen my face, she took it away. We ordered the duck confit ravioli. This is literally a ravioli with a pile of mushrooms. Everything about this dish was perfection! Main dish I ordered the fish special of triple tail. I substitute green beans for broccolini. The fish was served on a bed of fingerling potatoes. The potatoes were old, the skin was tough, and had a metal taste. The broccolini were crisp and delicious. The fish was very fresh, but the chef put the broccolini on top of the fish to make it look pretty which made the fish skin underneath soggy. I am sad. This was not a memorable meal and I will not come back. The duck confit ravioli was delicious and highly recommend it.

Really enjoyed dinner tonight. Good is solid and service fantastic. Not trendy or original, but sometimes you just have to appreciate when it's done right!

This place is a gem. The service is excellent and so is the food! Everything was fresh and perfectly prepared. We look forward to going back soon.

This was our first visit to Masraff's. The food and the service were very good. My only complaint about the food was that I asked for my vegetables to be cooked with very little oil and the broccolini was dripping in oil. My other issue was that when I called to make the reservation, I asked if they did anything special for birthdays. I told her it was my husband's birthday. She said she'd make a note of it. After our dinner, they brought out a fabulous dessert on a plate with the words Happy Birthday written in chocolate. It was wonderful; however, there was a charge that showed up on our bill for it. I didn't really mind it; however, I thought that the woman who made the reservation should have said something about how it worked. I also thought that if we were going to pay, someone should have asked me what he liked. As it turned out, he liked what they brought, but it would have been pretty bad, if that turned out to be something he didn't like. Overall though, we had a good experience and the food was good, just a bit more pricey than we're used to spending. Since we were celebrating a birthday, we were fine with it.

Celebrated a wedding anniversary and were impressed with both food and service. The garlic calamari appetizer was amazing as was the red snapper and rack of lamb. Restaurant is a little noisy to be classified as romantic but the food is outstanding.

Fantastic atmosphere, elegant and harmonic. Very complete selection of plates, we went for seafood and was delicious and fresh. Super professional service, above average. The wine lost was impressive. Incredible place we loved it!

Places like this will not let Houston down. If you are anything into proper food and cooking - come and enjoy. A few visits behind now and always a pleasant experience trying to comprehend the tastes and combinations.

We ate here with a friend and it was truly amazing. I had the tuna, my wife had the marlin, and our friend had the lamb. All three were wonderful. The owner came around to the tables and when he came to ours I don’t think I have seen an owner be so desiring to make sure his customers were happy. You will not be disappointed if you go here for dinner. Make reservations.

My wife and I went there on Saturday night and had the calamari, yummy. this dish is not your typical fried offering. There are small steaks sautéed in onions and other spices which make the dish unique and tasty. I had scallops done three ways and each scallop had a unique flavor explosion. It was like I ordered 3 different Entrees. The Crab cake was also exceptional. Even their spin on a classic Caesar salad was outstanding. I enjoy going there as they give back to the Community and are very active on the Charitable scene around town

Masraff’s stands out to me in an area of Houston with so many very good restaurants. The crap and shrimp dip and tuna tacos are delicious. The bar/lounge area is always relaxing, and service is top notch. I’ve dined here a half-dozen times on business trips the past few years - great place to take a client or colleague for a nice dining experience.
What fine dining should be
This is a go-to for me when i want fine dining in Houston. everything from the food to the service is excellent. If the owner is there, he likely will stop by and ask if everything is up to your expectations and he means it. A great spot that is one of the best in Houston.
