A Steak Paradise

By MJames88 |

One of the best steakhouse's I have been to in the US. The prime dry aged bone in ribeye was fabulous! The bacon starter and side dishes were all superb. Incredible wine list and drinks to go with it all. Service was top tier. Atmosphere wonderful. You cannot find better.

Average, but good location

By chachaslide2017 |

good location, but we had to wait for a table for quite a long time without hearing anything back from the host. Food was okay, but my steak was undercooked and I felt a little sickly when I got home.

Really great

By SAVVYTRAVLER456 |

Been there 4 time & never disappointed ! They go out of the way to make sure you have a great experience. Food is delicious & perfectly done . They are different because they gracious & really care I fact they call the next day to see if you were happy We have been to many Chicago steakhouses but none compare with the overall experience

Phenomenal!!

By Mastermultitasker |

I really enjoyed my experience here! The steak was mouth wateringly perfect, the drinks on dry ice were delicious, everything was wonderful! Probably the best steakhouse I have ever eaten at!

Delightful dinner

Sat at the piano bar before dinner. Enjoyed a cocktail with a great trio who played fabulous music šŸŽ¼. Moved to dinner, had a lovely steak, salad, sides and bottle of wine. Very upbeat, stylish crowd, wait staff impeccable!! Worth the money!

Great Date Night

By Stephanie B |

My husband and I went to Mastro's on our recent trip to Chicago. I chose Mastro's to celebrate his birthday. We really enjoyed the food and ambiance. We had reservations for the dining room and arrive early to grab a drink at the bar. They had a band playing and the entertainment was great! We decided to forgo the main dining room and instead had dinner in the bar area so we could listen to the music. Highly recommend this spot for a date night.

Quite simply, there is no better steakhouse in the US!

By mgminfo |

We've been to the Phoenix one and now Chicago. I have never had such excellent and accommodating service. The filet was amazing and the scalloped potatoes defy description. On top of it all they call the next day to say thanks for coming and enjoy the rest of your week.

Went from good to great!

By TLSeymour |

Food was excellent, service was good. There was a hiccup with no bone-in filet available however, that they had several opportunities to let us know, but that didn't happen until we were attempting to place our order, which was very frustrating as we had been looking forward to this steak dinner for the 2 months advance planning. It's important to note that they were out of bone-in filet due to the 45,000 person marathon the day before; so we got it. The norm in any type of restaurant is to make customers aware when they are seated, that a certain dish/entree is not available. We left a message for the Manager to call us the next day, so as not to address the topic within and during the busy dinner hour. He called us the next day, and more than made up for the hiccup. They repeated the exact meal and wine from the evening before, and added to the enjoyment with some other dishes for us to try. No other restaurant has ever come close to correcting their mistake as this manager/restaurant did. Not just the outstanding food, but the manager (Nikko) and staff were appreciative and friendly.

Excellent staffs and ok food

By JazzzyJas |

I went there for company education session with a group more than 20 ppl. The technical portion was very well prepared. The menu that was prepared was not really descriptive. For example, Fillet mignon was just listed as Fillet. I wanted to know how many oz of the meet was and what kinda of sauce it comes with if it has special sauce. Appetizer I tried was Asparagus Tempura and Tuna tart. The tuna was very unique with spicy flavor. However it was on the cracker so overtime it got very soggy. The steak was acceptable. It did not have any signature sauce or flavor. It was differentiating from another prime steak houses nearby. The sides were also just meeting the expectation. I tried Cream of spinach, mashed potato and satay mushroom. Nothing really write home about. Overall, it was pleasant environment for lectures and discussion. However, if I need to have spacial celebration, I would not choose this restaurant. There was nothing really special about the food.

Great dinner

What a great place to go for dinner. Had a fabulous time here, great food and appetizers. The bone in ribeye was delicious. Highly recommend going here for dinner out on business or with friends. We will return!!

Always good

By Nicole |

I have eaten here several times. It’s always good. Predictable. Great service. We brought our 6 year old son this time and they were great with him. Even though there isn’t a kid menu they made him a kiddy cocktail, offered him chicken fingers but he went for the petite steak and fries. They made dessert fun for him by adding some dry ice.

a pricey dinner

By Patty T |

We had an expensive meal, 5 people, 3 had wine and we spent 600 with tip, I ordered double lobster tails and one was overcooked, dry and very salty. I probaly should have sent it back. An expensive steak house needs to be amazing, it wasn't. I've had better dinners at other steak houses.

Excellent starter.

By Traveleroutdoors |

Interesting menu for carnivore, steak wasabi starter amazing. Based on this I was excited for main but steak was average at best. Not shocking but not as good as 30 dollar steak yesterday that was half the price. Still red wine was great.

One of the Best Steakhouses in Chicago!!

By Mahalo123 |

From the beautiful dark wood and regal feel upon entering the Mastro's experience was perfect. We started with a glass of champagne in the bar and the staff were very friendly and the rose champagne we ordered was delicious. Our reservation was on time and we seated at a table for four with just my wife and I. Our waiter Diego was extremely professional (dressed in white coat and bow tie) his service was even more professional. His support staff were attentive and friendly. My wife and I split everything and the staff were very accommodating. We started with a wedge salad that then most amazing smoked bacon kicking it up a notch. We then split a 16 oz New York Strip steak cooked medium plus with two 7 oz lobster tails and twice baked potato. All perfectly cooked and served. My wife and live in Chicago and try many top steak houses and compare New York Strip to New York Strip. This is one of the BEST IN CHICAGO!! To the staff you are all doing your jobs very well!!!

A Swank Restaurant!

By Quiana S |

We just had dinner here and I just love how I was immediately greeted by the hostess. The restaurant is nicely designed and dimly lit. The food was really well prepared and our waitress was ok. I would recommend this restaurant for couples, parties or even your family. It's moderately priced, but the food is worth the cost.

Great Place to Dine

By Cory G |

Excellent food with exquisite service! Thank you Blake for your assistance in a great dining experience. We will definitely revisit this location.

Reliable Steak and Seafood - ALWAYS!

By VanKB68 |

I've experienced Mastro's in Vegas and in Beverly Hills and Chicago did not disappoint! These guys have quality and service mastered for sure. I've never had a disappointing meal at any of their locations and there's a reason I keep going back!

Wonderful Dining Experience!

By sanzelmo |

I went there to celebrate my birthday and has such an incredible experience! I could not describe the amount of fun we had there with our server June! She was fabulous and had so much knowledge of the menu. The dining room was a very intimate experience with very attentive service. While we did not go for the live music it seemed very fun and they do the performances 7 nights a week! If you have the opportunity to meet Michalla at the host stand she is extremely welcoming right when you walk in. Nikola and John are two of the managers who very professional, welcoming and friendly as well. All three of these employees exemplify great service. The food was absolutely incredible and if you have enough room please get the warm butter cake it is by far the best dessert I have had!!

Anniversary dinner

By Robert D |

The restaurant is exquisite, service impeccable and the food outstanding, with some unfortunate exceptions. We loved the Sea bass and the Salmon dishes that had generous size fish and the chef provided peppercorn sauce and garlic lemon sauce for the two respective dishes upon request that elevated the dishes even further. Thank you chef! However the Wagu sushi was beyond disappointing. Would rank it as the worst sushi ever. Rice with asparagus were the only ingredients aside from the hot pepper having NO trace of wagu, or any scent of meat/ steak - AVOID and you will thank me Unfortunately we finished with a 5 layer chocolate cake that comes in a tower shape meant for 4-6 people, perhaps, yet with NO dessert refinement. Would definitely try something else In summary, it was a hit and miss Will return for the Sea Bass and try the steak next time

Quality is high, not sure it's as great as advertised

By Russell M |

Maybe this is a game of expectations. Mastro's was certainly built up to mythical proportions. I found the food to be of high quality and there was some creativity with the seafood tower, but there are many other restaurants with high quality, higher creativity and a bit lower prices. But I assume Mastro's is not going for that crowd. It's a very solid steak house. Ditto about the butter cake -- very good, yes. Life altering for a chocolate eater (as promised by my host), not so much.

Birthday mess

By Anntionette C |

I’ve been there several times in the past and I enjoy but this particular night was my birthday and everything that you thought could go wrong did the service was bad had to wait extra time to get my meal it was just all about experience and I really wasn’t pleased

Very classy and exquisite!

By J C |

This steakhouse is in the class of exceptional steakhouses that I have been to in the United States. If you want exceptional food, especially steaks, and service, try this place out. It's not cheap, but it's worth the experience.

Disappointed

By dh20172017 |

Felt like it was a little bit of a gimmick They heat the plates to 400 degrees... Why? Is it really necessary? And they use a lot of dry ice- faux smoke... Comes in drinks and shrimp cocktail! Everything is extra charged... Truffle butter on your steak - you will pay. Chicago is a steak town - not sure this place is worth the money.

Would return for business

By katravler |

We had a business dinner and this place was good depending on what you order. The bone in filet and vegetable sides were amazingly good. The tuna was not so would avoid it. It’s farmed and I’m surprised they even serve it. Good wine list. Passable but not best place in town.

I like this place and would go back

By John W |

Had a business meeting. Arrived at 6pm with no reservation. Was seated promptly. Amanda was our waitress and she was excellent. She was there when you needed her but wasn't bugging us all the time as we stayed over 3.5hrs. Order steak, filet. Done perfect. Brussels sprouts were a great side. Wine list was extensive but USA Cabs over priced. Overall good experience and would go back.

Overrated Overpriced and Unrelaxing

By JimmyMc |

First time at Mastro's Steakhouse. My partner and I were both extremely disappointed at many aspects of this high-end restaurant. We had made a reservation days in advance, and the restaurant staff in fact called the day before to confirm. Given that, I would have expected them to be ready to seat us when we arrived promptly at the appointed time - which was an early seating with little chance of "slow diners" failing to vacate. No such luck. We did our part, why can't these restauranteurs do theirs? And when finally summoned into the dining room (past a chaotic bar area with mediocre but loud band), we were given seating with one chair into the main aisle - which meant I was continually bumped by staff and other customers as they went by. I foresaw the issue and suggested to the host that this might not be the best, but couldn't get them to find a different table. I will note that this is the first time in my life that I've paid >$300 for a dinner for two - in which we had only two mixed drinks and NO wine. With tip it was pushing $400. Absurd. The restaurant was incredibly chaotic and loud, even without the band. It's one of these restaurants that they've designed to "enhance" the noise instead of managing it properly. For many this should be a deal-breaker - fine dining should NOT inhibit our conversation and limit it to shouts, nor should the waiter be required to shout at the diners. This is a huge fail. The food was mostly first rate. Oysters on the half-shell as an appetizer were much too small and I wouldn't order again. The steaks were high-quality - one of the best filet mignon's I've ever had. One of the sides we ordered, mushrooms with truffle butter sauce, arrived with no evidence of the (very expensive) truffle butter. In my experience items with such an expensive component are finished at the table to ensure patrons they are getting what they've paid for. Portions were typically Chicago much-too-large, and we left with a shopping bag of uneaten food as did most in the restaurant. What's the purpose of such largess? All in all we wouldn't go here again, and likely not their companion restaurant in Chicago either.

Outstanding!

By LAJ7 |

There are a lot of outstanding steakhouses in Chicago and this is one of them. Really good, well prepared food. Wonderful wine list and the service could not have been better. It is in a good location in downtown Chicago. The atmosphere is warm and friendly and not stuffy. Definitely worth a visit.

Fantastic Dinner and Service

By Jane L |

My husband and I usually avoid steakhouses during Chicago Restaurant Week because you sometimes get an inferior cut of meat for the reduced price. Not at Mastro's! We had an exceptional dinner (Restaurant Week menu), starting with a rich and flavorful French onion soup. The petite filet is one of the best steaks I have ever had. Service was perfect--prompt, but we never felt rushed. The cherry on the sundae was the call I received a few days after dinner, thanking us for dining at Mastro's. There is a lively ambience (ask for a quiet table if that is your preference) and live music. Highly recommended for a special night out in Chicago.

Awesome Steak

By manndoe |

Many steakhouses to choose from in Chicago but thought we would try this one....heard wonderful things about it. The food and service were incredible and the restaurant had a great vibe. We sat upstairs but downstairs had a great bar and live music! What really clinched my vote was that the restaurant called to THANK US a day after for eating there!!! Great all around experience!

dinner

By Joseph P |

The best steak in the city! From the start to the amazing desserts, a fantastic experience. The manager Steve makes you feel special while he checks on everyone and makes sure everything comes to you perfect. The bar area is fun for drinks and live entertainment, and the dining room is great to enjoy with friends. You will not be disappointed, a favorite of mine.

Amazing

By Bizzy |

Can I just say ā€œAmazingā€. Best way to sum up my family dinner. From the drinks to apps to Steaks. The nite was in every word perfect. The staff was extremely attentive and every food item was prepared to perfection

Not Disappointed

By EdK_IL |

I found the food to be excellent and the service, from the bar to the waitstaff to be outstanding. For the price of the items on the menu I had very high expectations for the food and it did not disappoint me.

Memorial anniversary

By David L |

We will make Mastro’s a regular stop. Many thanks to Mastro ā€˜s for making our anniversary so special. Our waiter, Kyle, was well informed and so helpful with the wines and the meal. Great food, the bone in filet was perfect.

They aren't kidding when it comes to steaks

By Harshal V |

I've been coming to Chicago on business for the last 8 years and have tried my fair share of steak joints but this is hands down my favorite. It's not cheap but well worth every dollar. It's now part of my repertoire and come here without fail. They have a good selection of red wines, particularly like their Oratorio Gigondas or Brunello selections. We generally share some starters, this time we had the tuna tartare which comes on a bed of crushed crackers, Rockefeller mushrooms and steak sashimi, can never have too much steak. My favorite cut here is the Ribeye-on-bone. They also have some very good sides my go-to's are the creamed spinach, truffle mushrooms and gorgonzola Mac & Cheese...just writing the review is making my mouth water. Needless to say we didn't have any space for dessert and nor did I want to wash away the beautiful taste left on my tongue. I gave it one less star as the server we had definitely rushed us, for the amount we're paying I want to relax and enjoy a good meal. As soon as the last drop of our first wine was poured we immediately had a menu showed in our face to select another. Lastly, make sure to make a reservation as it's hard to get a walk-in table, in case you're lucky to get one it's close to where they have a live music which makes it tough to have a conversation.

Celebrated a belated bday

By LGCB |

Mastro's is a place we enjoy. Ask for a seat in the lounge/bar area. They generally have someone playing piano/singing, the cocktails are great, and be sure to save room for a warm butter cake for dessert. Steaks were cooked well and the service was good. We have visited other locations where the service was more welcoming, but we had a great meal beginning to end.

Solo date

By Chataun K |

This spot is great for treating yourself. There was a mishap at the table nearby and the waitress and her colleagues handled the spill with grace and urgency. Gigi and Alyssa were fantastic ! Food was amazing!

Always Packed

By TCJ112 |

This place is solid. Of all the after-work functions or larges group dinners I've attended, I'm always happy to go here because the food is consistent, there are healthy options, and everyone can find something they like. No complaints. I've been on all different days of the week -- it's always packed and sometimes I run into people I know from different cities. Great gathering place. Recommended.

Wow. LOVE this place. A standard favorite for high quality food

By Lucyluvs2travel |

This place is not inexpensive, but the service is great, the food is outstanding, and the bar/lounge has great live music. I have enjoyed every visit here and usually go early dinner hour and share appetizers with friends. It's a great gathering spot for professionals - you just simply can't go wrong here...

Good steakhouse in Chicago

By MC2025 |

A bit less fancy than some of the big names, Mastro's serve excellent meat and acceptable service. Recommendation!

It’s a no from me

By Joey J |

Shoutout the valet for his rude Idgaf attitude and refusing to park my car because it was on the corner of the building. I Walked out on my birthday dinner reservation because if I’m already greeted with rude service before I made it in the building I can only expect worse. You can thank the valet for the loss of business!

Craving for steak

By getreal2me99 |

We decided to have decent food after completing the Chicago Marathon and we chose this place. Since it was near our hotel, walking distance. The restaurant have dress code. They run out of few items like the bone-in steak so I ordered the New York peppered steak. It was ok but not really convinced. It was a bit dry. Though our service, Miguel did excellent. So thanks to him.

Credit Card Fraud

By SLEH50 |

Have always loved Mastro’s, but on our last visit the tip I left was increased by $100 on my credit card bill. Sadly, upon calling Mastro’s to advise them of what I assumed was an error, I received a very bizarre follow up response from the Food and Beverage Control Manager, whom pretended not to understand that I needed the $100 overcharge addressed and then advised she’d need to wait for approval from the GM to do anything. No word from her or GM. Seems strange that their system wouldn’t flag unusually large tips as potential frauds. Disappointed as I’d always received good service and food here until this occurred and would have expected quick and apologetic action from this establishment. My recommendation would be to only use cash here.

Pushy waitstaff and overpriced

By ChildofGodRedeemed |

Crazy overpriced with plenty of hidden charges. Everything they bring to the table they charge you for without mention… bread, butter, water. Food is subpar compared to other fine steakhouses. Go elsewhere.

Amazing evening

By Ren B |

We celebrated our 50th anniversary with our daughter and son-in-law at Mastro's. We had an absolutely wonderful meal. Steaks were PERFECT. French onion soup was super, creamed corn side and twice baked potato - excellent. Be sure not to miss the warm butter cake desert. One of the top 3 or 4 meals we've ever had.

Another steakhouse chain heard from

By Taylor B |

Has anybody bothered to count the number of steakhouse chains there are in the United States? There are a lot of them and my wife and I enjoy dining at all of them. Competition seems to make them better. Honestly, we haven't been disappointed at any of them. And they seem to like a challenge. Take Mastro's Steakhouse, for example. The Arizona-based chain has established an outpost in Chicago. It has locations in Arizona, California, Nevada, New York, Massachusetts and Washington DC. Now Chicago. Located at 520 North Dearborn Street in the heart of the downtown restaurant district, in a space previously occupied by restaurants that closed sooner than later, Mastro's is making a name for itself. The menu offers some dishes not found elsewhere, like sushi and caviar, and the variety of steaks and appetizers and seafood and desserts makes you coming back for more. At a recent dinner, we started with shrimp cocktail and smoked salmon and Caesar salad. For entrees, we an eight-ounce petite filet and a 16-ounce New York strip with twice-baked potatoes and creamed spinach. And the chef knows what the phrase "medium well" really means. For dessert, we shared a plate of profiteroles, a tasty dish not often found on menus, even at upscale restaurants. But I must admit we were tempted to order Mastro's signature warm butter cake and pecan pie a la mode. Maybe next time.

Great Food with Great Service

By S5307TCbrianb |

The food was excellent with perfect accompaniment that complimented each dish. The Server was very knowledgeable with all the preparations and accommodated special requests without question. We enjoyed the variety of meats and fish. The appetizers were delicious.

Great steak place in the Chicagoland area.

By Harvey8380 |

We have gone to Mastro's a couple different occasions. They have a wonderful bar and then you get seated at your table and the steaks are phenomenal. You will definitely enjoy your dining experience just make sure you take plastic with you because it's not cheap. However it should not be cheap because it is a great fine dining steakhouse.

Excellent food but pricey

By AfishnamedArthur |

We enjoyed this restaurant for the food, atmosphere (quiet), and the service. The service is first rate, very unobtrusive but much attention to when something might be needed at the table. The wait staff did not engage in a lot of idle conversation and allowed us to enjoy our meal without needles interruptions. The food was exceptional. Everything is a la cart so expect to pay about $75 to $100 per person minimum, without wine. However, the quality of the preparation makes the food more than worth the price.

Classic,

By Lisa B |

Maestro’s offers a classic steakhouse ambiance, solicitous service, and a solid menu of beef and seafood, salads, some sushi, and a variety of vegetables. Of course, if you are a vegetarian, you didn’t choose this restaurant, but the vegetable offerings are nicely prepared and very good. We were a large group on this particular evening and had a lovely private room upstairs. Everyone enjoyed their entrees, salads and sides, as well as desserts. The highlight here is the warm butter cake.

Amazing Restaurant

By Monica H |

Great live music on Saturday night. We had Cosmo's and they are served with dry ice for a fun experience. The oysters from the west coast were quite possibly the best oysters I've ever had. The Ahi Tuna Tartare was to die for and so was the Seafood Stack! Service was good.

A Great Chicago Steakhouse!

By Steven A. |

Mastro's is one of my top 2 favorite steakhouses. We did a late night dinner with family and friends. They have a fantastic selection of delicious steaks, prime cuts and an array of seafood. I have always had great service, the only negative is that it can be a lively atmosphere where conversations can be a slight challenge. If possible, select the seating upstairs or against the wall so there is less conversation swallowing you up from the center of the room. Food is consistenly delicious! You can't go wrong with anything you order - always perfection.

On the fence, I need one more try

By F5993GMericd |

As someone who loves steak, I had a lot of hope for Maestro's. I had heard a lot of great things about the place and finally took the chance to try it out myself. The restaurant itself is pretty stunning. A little cramped, but that's just because of the number of diners. Service was pretty much flawless as well: the waitress and servers catered to every need possible. There's even a person in the bathroom who squirts soap into your hands and gives you a paper towel after you're done washing them. It was nice that the restaurant had that level of service. The food itself was a different story. While I found nothing wrong with the side dishes (lobster mashed potatoes and wild mushrooms) other than being a little over-seasoned (and I LOVE my seasoning), the steaks themselves were unfortunately a huge disappointment. I opted for the 22 oz. bone-in ribeye while the other person in my party got the 12 oz. filet (both ordered medium rare). At first glance, the steaks looked and smelled beautiful: an extremely crispy, caramelized crust with the subtle scent of sweet butter. But the good parts end there. After allowing the steaks to rest and continue cooking on the sizzling hot plate for 5 minutes, we cut into our steaks. Both were cooked rare, instead of our requested medium rare. Normally this isn't an issue for me, as the only reason I get ribeyes medium rare is to let the fat render a bit more. However, these steaks were extremely, extremely tough - not only to cut into, but also to chew. The rare doneness alone should not have accounted for the toughness of the steaks, as I've had plenty of rare steaks that I could cut and chew like butter. But that was not the case with the ribeye and filet that we ordered. I felt as if I was eating the toughest steak of my life, and if that seems like an exaggeration, it was most definitely the toughest steak I've had at any reputable steak house. It was quite amazing to be honest, how one of the best steakhouses in the area could serve such tough steaks. Both were also under-seasoned, but I didn't have a problem with that as I could just add my own. Years ago while in college I worked in a busy kitchen for 2 years, I do my best to not create problems for the kitchen mid-service, and didn't bring this up to the staff during my meal (even though I was certain the managers could have done something for me). I'm also certain that this unfortunate dinner is not the norm at Maestro's - otherwise it wouldn't have the reputation it has. However, 3 stars is what I give it based off of my own dining experience, and I hope that it will change to 5 stars in the future when I go back and give them another chance.

the "Holy Grail" of Chicago Steakhouses !

By wino04538 |

Have been chasing the elusive "best Chicago steak" for some time now......may have found the holy grail....have been to most of the "name" guys over the years and some just not what they used to be. On a tip from a friend tried MASTRO'S last night....pretty spectacular ! A 16oz. wet aged boneless sirloin cooked Pittsburgh style (double charred), tender, juicy...it was spectacular....Linda and I have kissed a lot of frogs along the way trying to find a steak like this...well worth the $60 price tag.....sides of colossal onion rings and lobster mashed potatoes seasoned lightly with garlic, pools of butter and large chunks of lobster, there were even two complete claws in the dish.Their signature dessert is a rich butter cake served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cram & fresh homemade whipped cream on the side. Still haven't figured out why but the manager stopped by the table and in conversation comped us the butter cake. Forgot to mention the "attitude adjustment" pre cocktail....two dry Ketel One vodka martini's shaken not stirred (gotta have those ice crystals floating throughout the drink), 3 blue cheese stuffed olives all served in what appeared to be a bottomless mini stainless shaker. service attentive but not intrusive.....If your in town pass by the cookie cutter guys like Ruth Cris, the Palm, Smith & Wollensky etc....and run don't walk to Mastro's.

NOT UP TO STEAK HOUSE STANDARDS................................

By jacy2 |

DISAPPOINTING! Poor, inattentive service, undercooked steak and overall disappointing experience! Started off with the waiter being overly attentive rushing us for a wine choice and progressed to almost being ignored by the wait and bus staff. It quickly became evident their interest was focused on large parties not couples. We started with a shrimp cocktail, but were not provided with any plates. Waiter finally got us plates. Our food came with my steak under cooked which I sent back after I finally got the attention of the waiter. This resulted in my wife and I eating separately while I waited for my steak to be recooked. We were seated next to the "bus station", but were unable to get our water refilled until we asked. I have eaten at many other steak houses in Chicago and throughout the U.S. and never had a problem ordering a steak "pink center, no blood". Evidently, this means "rare" to them. The overall experience spoiled a special night for us after read great reviews of this restuarant.

Nice experience

By Check Out Miami |

We went there for a dinner for my cousin Birthday. The place was a little loud but nice because in that night they had live music. Very nice server, don't remember his name, but he was the best. A little pricey but overall a nice experience! The food was good and the steak GRAND :-)

Fantastic All Around

By Clyde M |

I was here for a dinner before our holiday party. We were setup in a private room. The service was fantastic. The food was even better. Then there was the old fashioned... The best one ever! We a great appetizer round with crab cakes, crab legs, oysters, and shrimp. Then we had pork chops and tomahawk steaks nicely sliced on large plates. For sides we had mac and cheese and brussel sprouts. It was all fantastic. One of the best ribeyes I have had.

Classic

By yukongold86 |

Hits the high notes on all the classics. With a hat tip to the modern. A must stop On any trip to Chicago.

Gotta eat for NYE!!!!

By family961 |

We have visited this restaurant several times before. Although can be pricey, overall quality is good and the service is exceptional. We typically go for steak and salmon, but this time we went for Filet and roasted chicken. The steak was supposed to be medium but it was cooked much more than wanted and the outside was actually rather burnt. The chicken was flavorful but the breast meat was dry. For appetizer we always go with oysters Rockefeller. These are the best that we have ever had. Honestly, if you are a fan, you have to try these. Save room for dessert though for you also MUST try the butter cake. It’s what they are known for and trust me, you won’t be disappointed. Very nice atmosphere. We sat on the second level. Might I suggest trying to either get reservations on the first floor or wait for a tall boy at the bar. Live entertainment makes it a better experience. All in all, definitely worth trying and a solid couples/date night place to go.

Excellent Food and Service

By Cruiselover1963 |

Went with a large group. Exceptional service. Food was terrific. Seafood tower all very fresh. New York Strip Steak was tender and full of flavor.

Loved Loved our Steaks

By Dee R |

Six of us enjoyed wonderful service and dinner on Thanksgiving night. All steaks were cooked to perfection and the sides were plentiful. We shared 3 sides and had started with 3 delicious salads. I love the mastro salad with shrimp. I think I could eat there every night and just get this yummy salad. Shared desserts as well, cheesecake was great, it was served with fruit and tasty whip cream. One of the highlights was the amazing entertainment they had. I didn't get their names, but the singer was outstanding and the keyboard and drummer were so good. I will definitely return to Mastro's when I'm in Chicago again!

Celebrating our 41st wedding anniversary!

By Dorthy F |

This was our first time and our last. My husband ordered the wagyu steak and being the lobster lover I am, I ordered the lobster tail. Both meals were disappointing to say the least and not at all worth the prices. My husband's steak ended up being half fat and my lobster wasn't tasty, the garlic mashed potatoes weren't seasoned well and the butter cake the waitress raved about wasn't all that, good thing we didn't have to pay for it, compliments of our waitress! She started the evening well but kinda got lost during the evening. My husband likes booths designed for two people and there were only large booths but the overall ambience was nice. If the food is worth the prices no problem, NOT!!! First impressions are lasting!

Great Food and Live Music!

I love Mastro’s. It’s a wonderful restaurant with great ambiance and live music. The food is always perfect, and best of all, the service is outstanding. Everyone is fantastic. It started with a warm greeting from Donavan. He’s so accommodating and kind. The manager, Kim, went above and beyond to make sure all our requests were taken care of. The bartender, Alejandra, was absolutely fantastic and constantly checked on us. She also told us that Mastro’s now has Happy Hour—who knew? They were all very attentive, and we truly appreciated that. If you happen to visit Mastro’s in Chicago, be sure to say hello to them.

What a lovely place

By JoBri1961 |

Such an unusual find inChicago of a place which serves good food and good wine. Okay there are the usual pretentious descriptions that I find it difficult to stomach however the starters, voluminous as ever were tasty and the quality of the tuna extremely good although offset by the sheer volume of food. Our hosts chose the wines well andit was a good evening but do I dread to think how much it costs, Chicago being generally terribly overpriced.

Great food, poor reception

By jcd6497 |

As somewhat of a regular here, the food is always consistently awesome. Steaks, seafood, and sides were all cooked perfectly as usual. The warm butter cake which we always get was a little cool when it arrived so not as good as normal. Justin, our waiter did an awesome job and was very polite and knowledgeable!! Very disappointed in how we were treated on arrival and exit. We arrived 20 minutes early and only 2 of the 4 were there. I checked in to let them know we were there and proceeded to being belittled for checking in prior to all the guest arriving. Was hoping to go enjoy a drink at the bar and they could let the other guests know we were there. I guess that was too much to ask. After dinner, my wife went to get her coat from her coat check. Door was closed and said go to host stand. We stood at host stand for 5 minutes and was totally ignored. When we finally were helped we were told it was open and to go get it ourselves. I guess you just have to take care of yourself. Certainly not treated well for spending over $700. We can find many places that provide the entire package for a high end spot!!!! Would have been a 5 with a little effort and decent treatment.

Kinda pricey

By dave c |

As much as I love this place, it’s getting very pricey. Don’t get me wrong, nice place, very quaint. For the $$ bang, I prefer Gibsons or Hugo’s Frog Bar. Sorry

Excellent melt in your mouth filet

Excellent service and ambiance. The staff was wonderful and attentive. The food was excellent and paired nicely with suggested wines. You will not be disappointed

Very good for a large business group

By Samuel C |

It is not just a steakhouse, although they have an excellent steak selection. You should start with the seafood tower, that you select and set up. The bread and pretzel rolls with butter might be the tastiest thing of all. It's very expensive.

Awesome restaurant

It was an amazing experience. Food was excellent. It is pricey but the portions are large and filling.

A Chicago favorite!

By KLtravels121 |

We haven’t eaten here in a few years & it was such a treat! We went last minute & sat in the lounge to listen to the music. Our waitress was so knowledgeable & friendly. The music was great! We shared the spinach salad with warm bacon dressing, the 33 ounce ribeye & they made an aupoirve for us along with the potato gratin, asparagus, & warm butter cake. Everything was fabulous!

Amazing salted caramel martini!!!!!

By Brian H |

Was in Chicago for work and went here with a friend who said the salted caramel martinis were the best in town. They did not disappoint! Had more than I should have, but they are amazing. Which can quickly get you into trouble :-) Also had the tuna tartare and devoured the bread basket that came when we sat down. They were both excellent. Definitely recommend hitting this place up!

Great food and atmosphere

Mastro's is my favorite steak restaurant in Chicago. The steaks are cooked perfectly each time and taste great. The sides are large enough to share and also very good. You have to get the Butter cake as a dessert - it is amazing!

Excellent high-end Chicago steakhouse

By NBKFamilyOfFour |

Mastro's is an upscale steakhouse comparable to Maple & Ash, RPM Steak, Chicago Cut, etc. You know going in you are paying a premium price, and you expect top-notch food and service. We've been to Mastro's twice, and both times they met expectations. This visit was during Restaurant Week, with a $48 three-course meal. It's a great deal, probably saving $20+ per diner if you order off the prix fix menu. We went a bit nuts with add-ons and additional sides, ending up with a $350 tab for two (including tax and tip). We started with french onion soup, which was very good, and jalepeno tuna sashimi, which was excellent. The crab cake appetizer was good, made excellent by the accompanying sauce. Both 8 oz filets were done to perfection and seasoned nicely. I added a lobster tail which was just a little tough; it's the only thing we ordered that we wouldn't recommend. We ordered two sides, sauteed broccoli and scalloped potatoes. Both very good but not spectacular. We finished with mango sorbet (very good) and butter cake (wonderful!). Yes, we took home enough for another two meals! Our tab included three generously poured cocktails and a glass of wine. Service was attentive without being intrusive; knowledgeable and friendly. It's hard for us to pick a favorite Chicago steakhouse, but Mastro's is certainly in the conversation!

Yes, steaks are not bad

By shvarz |

There's not much secret to making a great steak - buy a great piece of meat, put it on the grill and don't overcook. They did this very well, can't complain. And it also looked great as they seared it just right and I guess put oil/butter on top to give it that shiny sheen. However, bread was just so-so. And the three sides we ordered (spinach, brussels, asparagus) were all terrible. Spinach was bland, brussels were overcooked and also bland (some of the worst brussels I ever had), asparagus looked ok, but smelled burnt. Service was rather snotty, one person from our party was 10 mins late, so they sat us at a smaller table, then he showed up and they moved us to the table we originally reserved. The atmosphere is fun, but it's very loud inside, acoustics make it very hard to hear even the person sitting next to you.

Very disappointing!! Won’t return!

By Rob |

As you can see by my previous reviews of Mastros, I have loved this resturaunt, and the original one in Scottsdale, for years. Not anymore though. Came here April 2nd to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday. Long story short……the service and food was poor. Our server, June, was never available for us, never checked to see how our meal was, and had to be reminded twice about simple requests. Nothing like the level of service in the past! Food ( Filet and Bone-In Filet) was terrible! Quality and flavor was almost non-existent. Nothing like the quality in the past! Price increases are ridiculous here now. I never thought I would say this, but we are officially done with Mastros. It’s very apparent this is NOT the same level of restaurant as in the past. There are just too many very good steakhouses in Chicago to have to settle for a below average one.

Another great Chicago steakhouse

By rbach |

The steaks here are excellent. If they were not this place would not make it in Chicago for very long. What I like here is the live music. The great and lively bar. And the amazing butter cake desert.

Worth It!!!

By Dan O |

I recently took a group of customers to Mastro's for dinner and could not be happier with our meals. The service and food was exceptional. To top things off, they had a great live band in the bar. The volume was just right for talking to other people at our table and they sounded fantastic.

Incredible Dining Experience!

By Tanya T. |

We dined here in a party of twelve and ordered almost everything on the menu. The wait staff were quick and very attentive. The lighting is low, which lends to a romantic or relaxed feeling. Every bite of every dish was outstanding and you MUST save room for the warm butter cake!! I CAN'T WAIT to dine here again.

Butter cake is served warm!

By Ann M |

At a recent conference in Chicago, attended a large group dinner at Mastro's and the food was excellent for such a large group, and actually was excellent when compared to an individually ordered meal. I had no problems with my meal although a colleague had ordered medium-well and got medium towards medium rare. The sides of creamed spinach and potatoes were also quite delicious and broccoli was cooked tender but not mushy. Highlight was their house special butter cake. Not sure how it was made but was lightly crunchy outside and warm all the way through. Unique and delicious. Not to sweet, but rich and buttery.

Love

Mastro’s is one of my fave restaurants. I love the butter cake like most people. The tuna tostada is a must! I love the salads as well.

Great atmosphere in a great city.

Birthday Dinner

By Tawanda-Grace |

This place was really nice and accommodating. My cousin recommended this place and it was everything she described. We were visting from The Windy from Michigan. The Ahi Tuna Tostada was Phenomenal and so was the Scallops. Our waiter Parker was great he offered me a birthday cake " on him " which ended up on the bill. Any who we enjoyed this restaurant

Meeting venue with great sevice

Attended a function in upstairs room. Well organised and good service provided. Wine options were impressive and service during the function was smooth and non disruptive. Fantastic steak was a highlight. Very high quality for a function option so I suspect the main restaurant would be even better.

Mastro's of None

By Mark D |

We had been to the Mastro's in Arizona and had a good meal. We were expecting the same experience in Chicago. Nothing doing. Although I can't complain about the quality of the food, the service and ambiance were terrible. The place was packed and in the bar and entranceway nearly everyone was complaining about the wait. We got our table and if the waitstaff had its way, we would have been forcibly ejected in an hour. Before many of our plates were finished they were gone. Items we asked for never appeared and those we wanted disappeared. Unlike the bus people who swarmed our table, our server made herself scarce, never asked how our food was, and dropped the check like a hot rock long before we were finished. No Thank You from anyone. What galled me most was I ordered a simple Stoli on the rocks. When the check came, I found I had been given a "special Stoli" for about ten dollars more. Other drinks were similar. The only person who seemed to give a damn was the coat check person who took my card, told me she would give it to the manager, and that he would call me. Sure. I have been to many steakhouses in Chicago and do not think this is the one to frequent. It's expensive, inattentive and to me, duplicitous. Prime and Provisions, Gibson's, and numerous others are superior in every sense.

Biz dinner for 40 Private Room

We had a large group for our business dinner and celebration. Wonderful seafood appetizers , soup, steaks etc ........... with such a large group I heard nothing but compliments on the food and service.

Best steak in Chicago

By Nimai Hari |

We came here for dinner with friends. This is probably the best steak I have had in Chicago. I got the Bone-In Ribeye and was a solid piece of meat and it was cooked very well. We also had the Garlic Mashed Potatoes, which tasted great as well. If you are looking for a place to grab dinner with friends and celebrate the occasion, I would highly recommend this location.

Night out in Chicago

By Melissa M |

Food and service was excellent! Atmosphere left a little to be desired. Music was way to loud and the room was so dark I could not even read the menu. Cocktails were very week and should be avoided. Wine selection was excellent.

Drinks and Appetizers!!

By jabsChicago |

We stopped in to listen to music with out of town guests last night. We had eaten a late lunch so we decided to have wonderful Mastro's House Salad that was fantastic! It has iceberg lettuce, vegetables, and diced shrimp with a lovely blue cheese dressing, topped with blue cheese and a lovely prawn! We then shared the mushrooms stuffed with crab and the beef carpaccio. The salads are definitely shareable along with the appetizers, so it is really great to share all the lovely choices, which were hard to make. One person tried some craft beers and my husband and I shared a bottle of Tempranillo! Our server was attentive and very helpful with descriptions of appetizers. There are so many choices! Carmine was our server and she was wonderful, very welcoming! We also met one of the managers and he welcomed us! Music was provided by Bill, Mike, and Rebecca and we enjoyed all the genres of music!

I eat at too many steak houses

By Michael B |

It was a goup lunch (set menu) so maybe it does not do it justice but with so many steak houses in Chicago it's hard to stand out. Felt like Ruth's Chris. Just like Ruth's the steak comes on a hot plate. You HAVE TO take this into account on how you want your steak. If you order like you would normally it will be over cooked. On the plus side I have a friend who also went there for a group lunch about a year ago and he said it was the best. Bon appetite.

Outstanding Food and Service

By Dixie D |

There were four of us. Three had steaks (2 filets and a Kansas City cut) and the fourth had the veal chop. We ordered sides - Gorgonzola Mac & cheese, Brussels sprouts, baked potato, and a twice baked potato. We all agreed this was one of the best meals ever. The meat was done perfectly. The sides are enormous (the Mac & cheese could easily feed six), and the warm butter cake was to die for. Our waiter, Justin, was friendly and knowledgeable and attentive without intruding. We went on a Friday night where the restaurant was packed but we never felt rushed.

Undeniably A first class restaurant.

By Atwomaverick |

Celebrated 44th wedding anniversary dinner, 5 Star! It is a rarity to find such a top rated restaurant that really knows how to cook a steak and Service that is a "Wow" Factor. Parker Dodson was our Wine Steward & Server. The desserts were fabulous too.

Expensive, but Delicious

By GrayKitten |

This location was around the corner from the hotel some family members of ours were staying at while they visited downtown from out of the country, so we decided to stop in for dinner. The location is in the River North part of Chicago, which means it is in easy reach of bus and loop transportation for those who are visiting. We were sat in a quiet, cozy dining room with very dark, subdued lighting. There were times where I wish the lighting was a bit brighter, as it got very dark as evening went on. Service was excellent, with our waiter being willing to wait as we translated items for the non-native English speakers in our group. The food here was just amazing. We mostly had soups for our starters, and both the French onion and the crab bisque were tasty. The steaks were done to our specifications, though it was a bit scary when they warned us that they would be brought out on sizzling, 400-degree plates. The sides are sized for sharing, so we had broccoli, asparagus, and mashed potatoes for our group of four and it was plenty. We ordered deserts, which were quite good as well. Overall, this was an amazing meal out, but it is at a very high price point.

Date night

By litonyaw |

A magnificent meal with a magnificent guy! We walked in to live music, sat down and ate a delicious steak. The private, lobster mash, and creamed spinach were to die for. We ended the night with the bebestat dessert that I have ever tasted in my lifetime, the butter cake. If you haven't been, go now!

Great place for dinner!

By braun418 |

Superb steak, sides and dessert. Service also very good, but they ran out of our favorite Miller Brewing products at the Phoenix restaurant.

Quality Declined/Prices Increased

By Archana W |

Went for dinner with friends. Prices of martinis have gone up for same quantity. Steak quality has fallen. Don’t fall for the ā€œspecialā€ lobster Mac and cheese- for a whopping $45, expected much more. Seared bigeye tuna - no way it was bigeye. We’ve had it in the past and quantity was much larger and quality was excellent. Not anymore. Oysters were hi him and $55 for dozen; no mignonette accompaniment. Service was unimpressive considering the prices. Would not go back. Clearly a cash grab. Go to Steak 48 instead.

Teens bday

We came to the city knowing we had to hit a steakhouse. There are endless options, we wanted one that we don't have back in Boston and one we haven't been to. This was a perfect choice. They had live music on the bar, we had a later reservation and we got a seat smack in the middle of the loud dining room. We really enjoyed our waiter, The food was superb and service parallel. Expect to spend a pretty penny! Worth the celebratory occasion.

excellent service

good food....wonderful service.....appetizers were enough of a meal, when your grandchildren try everything offered.

A truly wonderful restaurant

By AfishnamedArthur |

From the service to the food I find Mastro’s steakhouse one of the best. My wife loves the 22ounce bone in ribeye and I think the double cut pork chop is amazing. Don’t expect ā€œDenny’sā€ prices; but, the value for the cost is great.

Lacking ALL the high end steakhouse touches

By Empowers13 |

Just dinnered here Saturday 12/8 with a party of 8. Our 7:30 reservation was finally seated at 8:15pm. We were on time for our reservation and the place was packed. It became very apparent they had oversold the restaurant. Various people in our group periodically checked in with the hostess who was minimally concerned, unapologetic and more or less flippant about our 45 min delay. At the 43 min mark a manager offered to buy us a drink. Finally our table was ready. As the bar was still making our drinks the hostess was snotty about seating ā€œan incomplete party.ā€ Really? We have been looking at you for 45 minutes...they will be to the table as soon as the drinks are made. Finally, yes! We are seated. Let’s get this dinner started. First impressions on the on our waitress, Lauren - friendly and had good energy. First impressions of dining area - loud but lively, got the impression many were there to celebrate and have a good time. My chair was wobbly, which I found off putting for the posh establishment and we were seated at a round table, where the sides lock out making a square table into a round. Those round extensions were saggy and wobbly too. Just a little thing that seemed subpar, again when considering we were at Mastro’s. Almost from the beginning we all noticed the touches from staff were few and far between and the wait time for drinks was beyond. It got to be one of those situations where the table says ā€œif anyone sees Lauren flag her down.ā€ The overall team working the second floor stunk. We had to ask for bread! Huh? No one came over to offer fresh grated pepper on salads. The water glasses were not being refilled. No one had any complaints about the food though, that’s why I gave 2 stars. Everything was hot, fresh, well prepared and delicious BUT this was a $300 per couple meal. The service makes the meal. We just got off on the wrong foot with the ridiculous reservation fail and they were never able to recover and frankly didn’t seem to care too. To Lauren, you hussled and we enjoyed your personality. Our entire table agreed, you were stretched thin and that was not your fault.

Excellent Service

Had a dinner here and our service was fanstastic! I can’t say enough nice things about our waiter, Matt! If you have a special event eat here and ask for Matt!!!

Casual dining with a great steak

By Geert B |

I had made a reservation on a Tuesday evening at 6.30 pm. Coming in I was given the choice for the more formal dining area or the more casual live music area. I preferred the latter but asked not to be seared close to the music. "I can put you in the corner" and this is what happened. Good service. The live music area is a bit crowded and the conversations may may louder than the music. Also, the place is pretty dark. The Kansas City strip was excellently grilled, the creamy spinach and french fries, which are added to the bill, were average. The accompanying Tuscany red wine was excellent. For this, without appetizers and without coffee or desert, I had to pay 120 usd, so the place is not cheap. But Mastro's Steakhouse is a good alternative for the more formal and even more expensive Chicago steakhouses in the Michigan Av. area.

Enjoyable Christmas Eve dinner

By LThomas1301 |

Very nice Christmas Eve dinner. Service was excellent. Nice festive ambiance and tasty holiday cocktails. Live music was a nice touch. You can hear singer throughout restaurant. Steaks were very good. They were cooked just a bit under. Wanted medium received little less than medium. Not enough to send back but not perfect. Still flavorful and tender. Lobster roll was excellent. Wines were very good. Sides and desserts were very good as well. Butter cake still the best and espresso cake very good also. Enjoyable dining experience.

Mastro's finds a home in Chicago

By Taylor B |

In the past, there have been a few restaurants at 520 North Dearborn in downtown Chicago. But they didn't survive the city's very competitive restaurant market. At last report, Mastro's Steakhouse seems to have succeeded where others failed. An outpost of an Arizona chain that also has locations in California, Nevada, New York, Massachusetts and Washington DC, Mastro's has found its niche in a town known for steak and steakhouses. And if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere. My wife and I have found Mastro's to be very accommodating, very relaxing and very appealing with a very comprehensive menu that covers all of our tastes--and then some. While steak is a priority, Mastro's also offers an excellent variety of seafood for the more fish/less meat crowd. There are so many options on the menu. For example, we usually start with traditional shrimp cocktail, lobster bisque and Caesar salad. But we sometimes opt for French Onion soup, chopped salad and sauteed shrimp or sauteed sea scallops. Others prefer the chilled Alaskan King Crab Legs, oysters Rockefeller, crab cakes or even caviar. For entrees, our favorites are Scottish salmon, Chilean sea bass, eight-ounce petite filet and 12-ounce filet with baked potato, garlic mashed potatoes, creamed spinach and creamed corn. Dessert is a treat, too. Love the profiteroles, key lime pie, pecan pie a la mode and chocolate pudding cake. If you're really hungry, try the 24-ounce porterhouse or the 22-ounce bone-in ribeye or the 20-ounce bone-in Kansas City strip or even the 48-ounce double cut porterhouse. At Mastro's, you have a lot to choose from. And you'll enjoy every ounce of it.

Classic Steakhouse

By kimmysue42 |

Our group enjoyed a holiday dinner here in December. Busy place. Service was a little slow but food was great. We all had the filet mignon and shared the creamed spinach, macaroni & cheese, mushrooms & scalloped potatoes. All were fantastic. The bummer was that I was so hungry I filled up on bread while we waited for our meals. I couldn’t enjoy the food as much as I wanted. That was a ā€˜me’ issue( eating bread). I have been to other Mastros in the U.S. and have always loved their service.

Maybe ā€œThe Bestā€ Steak House in Chicago

By GrandMasterOfTravel |

This place has never disappointed me to date. I’ve been here many times and haven’t had a bad experience yet. The steaks are always great! I usually get the bone in NY or the Filet...Both are very nice! I also love the sides and desserts. I always save room for the made to order butter cake šŸ° Mmmmmmm!

My first visit at Mastro's Steakhouse was a winner. Yum. Started off w bone marrow which comes with fresh greens. Did the lobster bisque We got filet ( we were splitting ) w the wild mushrooms. Yes we had the yellow cake for dessert. The cosmopolitan was out of this world. The drink looked like it had dry ice in it as it was misting like crazy.

Had a great time at this restaurant the first course was a lot of fun to share with others. The wine list was very nice

The experience for a lifetime

By TheChiefFromCali |

We were given this info by locals who know how to spend their money and they were not wrong. Our server Leia was knowledgable and waltzed us through the menu and answered our questions with ease. We checked the wine list and ordered a good bottle of Sebastiani to pare with our Porter house steak which was carved for the ease serving my wife and I. We have experienced Lawerys in Los Angeles and wanted to sample the cream spinach side and garlic mash potatoes. The sides ideally accompanied the flavorful aged beef. The excellently seasoned beef was cooked medium rare and tender to cut. We were quietly and quickly supported by the wait staff that poured and refilled our glasses. This is definitely a must return on our next visit to this great city!

Very expensive

By 3CTraveler |

We went to Mastro’s as a special birthday dinner. The restaurant is dark with an abundance of staff expected in a high end steak house. The server was very knowledgeable and attentive. We ordered 6 and 8 ounce filets which were very good, served on heated plates. The $40 - $50 steak price was not unexpected but other items on the menu were surprising....$23 for shrimp cocktail, $18 adder for a truffle butter on the steak, $34 adder for crab and bĆ©arnaise on the steak. We opted for the steamed asparagus and an order of the king Alaskan crab gnocchi as sides, both of which were very good. We also tried the butter cake dessert mentioned in other reviews and were not impressed, it was good but not extraordinary. With drinks, wine, dinner and tip our bill was over $300 for a dinner for two.

Delicious Dining

By lisamax0707 |

If you're a steak aficionado, you'll love Mastro's! It's one of our favorites in the Windy City. The steaks and sides are always great, and the butter cake can't be beat. Be prepared to wait, even if you have a reservation, because everyone takes their own sweet time to savor the flavors here. Not to fret, though, because the live music in the bar makes the wait worthwhile. Thanks to our server, Diego, for making our evening a delight. We'll be back!

The Food, Ambiance, and Service are Fantastic!

By HMS |

My friends and I came here on NYE. I often go to the Mastro’s in Scottsdale, AZ, so I knew this would be a great place to ring in the new year. Needless to say, they were very busy. Our night would have been disappointing if it were not for the kindness of the Manager, Niko S. He saved our night and helped make it a night to remember. He went above and beyond to make us feel special and welcomed…then I noticed he was doing that for everyone; a testament to his genuine commitment to delivering excellence to each and every patron that visits his establishment. I highly recommend Mastro’s if you’re looking for great food, live entertainment, or if you’d like a wonderful place to celebrate a momentous occasion. Don’t forget to say hello to Niko!

Meagre pickings for vegetarians…

By Moleseyboy |

I presage this review by coming clean. As a vegetarian I would not naturally choose to visit a steak house. My review is therefore leavened by the feedback of steak eaters. We had a plentiful supply of starters, with some tasty tempura and a mix of seafood and other options for those interested. Given that we were a large group, food service was somewhat glacial but all the staff were friendly and attentive. My main beef (apologies for the Dad joke) was the meagre choice of vegetarian options. Indeed there was only gnocchi on offer. In retrospect I should have elected to take a selection of vegetables as the gnocchi was as plentiful as it was devoid of flavour. The tomato sauce was inexplicably lacking in any seasoning and the additional vegetables in the sauce were few and far between. Gnocchi is always a risky prospect: it is so dense that a very little of it goes a long way, but it depends on a good sauce to be palatable. Those who ate steak seemed happy, As a former steak eater I was somewhat wistful not to have the choice that they were afforded, but ā€˜c’est la vie’.

Great dinner. Lots of Noise.

By Full of Witt |

My family and I really enjoyed all the food at Mastros. Most people got steaks. Bone in filet and bone in ribeye were amazing. While the steaks were amazing, the Chilean sea bass was only fine. It was a large portion (which was great for the $51 price tag) but it was overly buttery and lacked any other flavors (prefer the miso glazed version at Joes down the street). The sides were all out of this world. Lobster Mac and cheese (huge pieces of lobster) and the Alaskan King Crab black truffle gnocchi were my favorites. The mac n cheese was amazing as well. Cream spinach gets a notable mention. We did get 2 starters that were pretty amazing. Tuna tostada (tuna tar tar on a won ton) and the Alaska King Crab stuffed mushrooms. Solid portions but leave you wanting more...but you can’t because a big meal is coming. Cocktails and wine were great (very extensive menu). Prices were crazy high for cocktails ($20 a pop on average) but you do get a rather large glass. Definitely have paid $16 or more for half of what Mastros gives so its definitely not bad. Get the warm butter cake. Don’t need to look at the rest of the dessert menu. It was the best bite of the night. The service was top notch. We were a large party and the staff handle all of us well. Waiter was excellent and friendly. Additional servers and bus boys were all great and very helpful. The knock on the total stars relates to the noise level and the prices. We sat in the main dining room and we definitely had to shout to speak with people on the opposite side of the table. It was difficult to even hear people next to me. As for the prices, they were high even for Chicago steakhouse. Quality was top level but prices seemed 10-15% too high. Definitely worth a visit. Amazing food and service.

You get what you pay for!

By jeffreyclaudiag |

If you pick that one restaurant to go out and splurge a little pick this one . The service , live music and food will get us back there the next time we are in town. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and went home stuffed.

Wow. I might have a new favorite!

By bugsy554 |

I’m usually a 100% capital grille guy. But I took the recommendation of a friend and came to Mastros. So glad I did! I would say the quality is as good as capital grille but it’s a little more hip and less stuffy I think the prices are pretty aggressive. Especially on some of the drinks and wines by the glass. However ordering a martini was well worth the cost because it was essentially two full Martini glasses worth of liquid Service was awesome and spot on. I’m very much looking forward to coming back

Great Food and Amazing Atmosphere

By Joseph M |

We went here for a Valentines Day dinner. This may be one of the best dinners we have had in Chicago. All things considered, for what you are getting, the price is right for where you are. Aside from the food, what we loved the most, was sitting in the bar area. We had enough room between our table and the table next to us, that we felt like we had some privacy. They had a two person band playing light music, which really added to the atmosphere of the place. We cannot wait to go back!

Group Dinner

By Tallahassee-Bob |

While at a conference in Chicago, me and several of my coworkers went to dinner at Mastro's. The restaurant was a pleasant walk from our hotel, and we were greeted and seated upon arrival. The service was very professional, especially for a group of 6. My steak was tender, cooked as I requested and delivered to the table still hot. The sides we ordered for the table were very generous in their portions, and I would highly recommend the lobster mac n' cheese (although two of these was way more than the 6 of us needed). My only complaint was that the dƩcor and layout of the restaurant made it very noisy and hard to carry on a group discussion.

Subpar

Place was completely dead not one person in the dinning room. We ate in the bar they had a nice two piece band playing. Food was just ok but for a couple spending $260 for just ok not so much. We have been to the mastros in Las Vegas probably our favorite place to eat and the one in New York in my top 10 restaurants.

Great Service, Great Food

By Seancummings |

I went here with a few friends to catch up and grab a meal. I thought the service in both the bar and restaurant was fantastic. It was hard to get a seat at the bar because of the way the tables were laid out. The drinks were pretty damn pricey even for Chicago, but they were very good.

Bartender was very rude. I did not take it personally, he probably didn’t commit to the basics of a ā€œ fine dining experience ā€œ

Dinner and Music

By jabsChicago |

We arrived to listen to the music trio who were playing in the lounge area. We asked to be seated near them to make sure we could hear them in case it got real busy. We were asked to choose the highboy table we liked and were greeted by a very nice server. She very nicely reviewed the menu, highlighting some popular dishes and asking what kinds of things we liked. We had decided to order a couple appetizers as they are large and very shareable and they come with a great bread basket! We also decided to order a bottle of wine for the night. Our server was friendly, attentive, but not intrusive. She thanked us for coming in at the end of the night and hoped to see us again. The music was great and varied! Our plates were cleared efficiently and water poured often. Overall, we had a lovely evening without eating too much but we left quite satisfied!

One of the nation's top 10 steakhouses

By Taylor B |

Yes, it's expensive. Thirty dollars for a shrimp cocktail appetizer? That's expensive. But dinner at Mastro's Steakhouse in Chicago is worth the price. You get paid in full...divine opulence, exquisite cuisine, live musical entertainment, impeccable service, luxurious surroundings, plentiful safety precautions, posh. Located at 520 North Dearborn, at Grand, in the River North neighborhood that is a haven for classy steakhouses, Mastro's has reopened under new ownership and the Arizona chain appears to be better than ever. Chicago is a meat-and-potatoes kind of town and the competition among steakhouses is fierce. Any top 10 list includes Mastro's. Open from 5 to 9 Sunday through Thursday and from 5 to 10 on Friday and Saturday, it offers spiffy ambience and tablecloth tables and plush atmosphere. For appetizers, my wife and I had shrimp cocktail, Caesar salad and lobster bisque. For an entree, my wife chose a 6-ounce petite filet with cream spinach and garlic mashed potatoes. I opted for a 12-ounce bone-in filet with a one-pound baked potato and creamed corn. For dessert, we shared Mastro's signature warm butter cake with two scoops of raspberry sorbet. During the pandemic, Mastro's is open for dine-in (with social distancing), to-go and delivery.

Fantastic food, great service, on the expensive side but it was expected

By Mike B |

We recently went to Mastro's Steakhouse for an anniversary dinner. They had live music in the bar/lounge area that filtered its way into the dining room but that added a nice level of background music to the night. I had the 12 oz filet which was cooked extremely well, I could almost cut it with a butter knife if i had one. My wife had a 8oz filet with 1/2 lb of crab meat on top with a sauce, which was also very good. The sides were also very good. Its not on the menu but they do offer half portions of the sides (they are normally big enough for like 3 people) so that will help with being able to have a variety. We had their signature Warm Butter Cake which was so good, it seemed kind of on the basic side but the different textures and flavors worked very well together.

Overcharged, Underwhelmed and No longer a Great Place to dine

By Aletha N. Chicago |

Last night (Feb 15th) my daughter and I went out for a special dinner. The waiter was very nice and attentive. However, the ambiance was lack luster from the moment I sat down. We were seated in an overflow banquet room. It was like the kid's table. I believe I should have been told there was no seating in any of the main dining rooms before being seated there. There were at least two groups of young adults celebrating birthdays and/or Valentine's Day. I felt like it was a pre-party for a teen dance. The room lacked anything special. I ordered a wine that was more expensive than I typically order ($195 Silver Oak Cabernet). Somehow, the waiter determined I wanted the $320 bottle. It was likely a misunderstanding but given that they had two wines from the same vineyard, I feel like he should have made sure I knew which one. n any case, when the bill came and I pulled the wine menu and clarified my intentions, the manager decided to "make it right" She discounted the $320 bottle and literally took it away. So instead of getting a full bottle for about $50 a glass, I got 1/2 bottle for about $85 a glass. The manager's decision making and general treatment of me were both poor. Her mannerism and tone and then her final decision are the primary reason I'm writing this. She could have been kind and understanding and she could have followed up to see if I was satisfied with the outcome. She didn't do either she acted bothered. She said I should have known and then said she'd see what she could do. She never came back to check to see how I felt about the resolution. I decided to leave, tip the waiter based on the expected bill and to NEVER come back. I don't know what she decided to do with the 1/2 bottle that remained but she certainly wasn't going to let me have it. Nor did she replace it with a 1/2 bottle of something from their wine's by the glass menu. Regardless, it was in poor taste and a very odd way to resolve the issue. I clearly didn't skimp on what we ordered and it was likely a misunderstanding (I'll assume it wasn't a subtle up-sell tactic). I would have likely have taken a smaller credit and kept the remaining bottle to be sealed and taken home. Or they could have issued me a gift certificate for a future meal. Instead they decided I would basically pay $85 glass and that was a reasonable solution and they would take the bottle away. I'm still flabbergasted by this. I ended up pay $170 for a 1/2 of a $320 bottle so basically I paid more per glass than if I had had the whole bottle. I found the whole evening to be far below the service and experience of Mastro's in year's past. Even the check-in process felt more like a casual pizza place over an upscale steakhouse. Certainly No Joe's Seafood-which is always spectacular. That make-shift dining room felt like a back banquet room with no ambiance or flare. Seems like they were all about quantity and not quality. I typically entertain at Mastros 4-5 times a year. I won't be back. I'll be taking my clients and colleagues to Joe's Seafood, Steak 48 and Ocean Prime in the future.

Great Food and Great Service

By aaronj799 |

When you eat at a nice steakhouse like this in Chicago, you hope to get an experience as much as a meal. Mastro's definitely delivered! Prior to our table being ready (we showed up early for our reservation), we enjoyed the band playing music in the bar section. After being seated, our waiter was extremely helpful on recommendations and consistently checking to make sure that we had everything we needed. Most of our group of 6 had different cuts of steak, and no one was disappointed! The steak was all cooked to perfection -- tender, juicy and flavorful. The sides were family-style and excellent, and we thought the twice baked potatoes particularly stood out. We ordered 3 desserts for the table, including the signature warm butter cake. If you go, make sure to order it -- you will NOT be disappointed!!!

Wonderful wine, superb salad, stupendous steak and delicious deserts!! Need I say more? Porterhouse here was worth the visit.

Old School Style and Service

By Wendy N |

I was the pleasure of dining in one of the private rooms upstairs for the first time last week. Since then, I have been dreaming about the meal and the service. Seymour, our waiter, excelled at reading your mind and offering you what you would like before the thought even formed in your mind. An elegant experience from start to finish, the service was beyond extraordinary and a throw back to old school dining with the service staff in white jackets (that never got dirty). We had the two tier seafood tower complete with dry ice, oysters Rockafeller, stuffed mushrooms, bread and more for the appys. For dinner, we asked Seymour to put together a platter of some wagu, porterhouse, Tomahawk and other selections for our table to try. It was a truly oustanding meal from beginning to end. There is even a washroom attendant! It was a pleasure to walk back to the hotel and enjoy the Chicago evening and then dreaming about Mastro's that night and every nigh since. Safe up and go for something special

Very Good

By kp14221 |

Started at the bar, friendly bartender Kyle was attentive for as busy and loud as it was. Our dinner reservations was at 8, we sat and didn't get our bottle of wine until 840. Omar was a great waiter, but I think he had too many tables. Our steaks were great, lobster Mac was world class and the bread service was spot on. Definitely an expensive place, but we would go back. We didn't save room for buttercream cake.

Amazing dinner celebrating our daughter

By Jennifer K |

We were taking a quick trip to Chicago to see our daughter who was visiting her boyfriend over her break from med school. We were celebrating her making the Deans honour list and her upcoming birthday. Mastros was recommended to us by my husbands cousin who had her wedding there. It did not disappoint. My husband had the lobster cocktail for an appetizer and it was spectacular!! I had the Heirloom tomato and burrata and it was delicious. My daughter and her boyfriend loved the Caesar salad. For entrees my husband and I shared.....it was actually suggested to share a Waygu steak!!!! Omg it was unbelievable and there was a good portion for take home. We shared a warm butter cake and it was amazing as well. My daughter is gluten free due to an allergy and had no issues ordering at all. This may become our favorite restaurant when visiting our daughter while she does her Chicago clinicals!! Can't wait for a do over!!

Business Dinner for big group

By oldcar10 |

This is my third visit. It was just as great as the last 2. I was in Chicago for business conference that took over the restaurant to kick the meeting off with 300 plus of us. The drinks and appetizers in the bar and hall area was outstanding. The tower of seafood at the tables was a treat. The table service for the main meal was terrific. The lighting and quality of the smaller rooms where the tables are located allowed for comfortable table discussions. The staff was excellent at creating a great meal and overall experience. I look forward to a future visit.

Amazing

By JLFrazier5 |

We ate here for dinner with family and friends. As usual, it did not disappoint. Their elderflower martini is unique and delicious. The ahi tuna tartare and beef carpaccio are amazing. The ribeye steak mouthwatering. The sides are always delicious- the mac and cheese being a family favorite.

Have I Found Steak Heaven

By BatGuano30 |

My 6 oz Filet was a perfect medium with a nice amount of char on the outside. Lobster mashed potatos were a magnificent side . My $20 Buffalo Trace Manhattan was delightful and basically two drinks. Restrooms have attendant, make sure and tip them. Great place to drop $130 at the end of a week in Chicago on very productive business. I love this town.

Overpriced

By veganstylist |

The carcass is rotted for an extra 29 days. The Mac and cheese is tasty. The wine and drinks are mega bucks. The butter cake is worth the visit. However a hot fudge sundae would give the same ecstasy. They do love dry ice.

Incredible music and steaks

Just also ate at the Vegas and Scottdale locations....all fabulous, consistent and Hot Spots!! Delicious steaks and mushrooms. Wonderful decor , great bar.

Spoil Yourself!

My wife and I had 3 hours to burn after dropping off our son for a performance in the City and wanted to take advantage by going to Mastro's for the first time. Our reservation was for 6:30 on a Thursday evening and we were seated immediately upon arrival. We told our server Kim that we were in no hurry, as we had to wait for our son's performance to end. We are rarely able to get out as a couple and this had to be one of the best experiences we have had. It was a combination of the food, staff and especially our server Kim. We knew we wanted steak, and were going to order a filet and strip, Kim recommended the Double Cut Porterhouse steak, she also recommended the Lobster Bisque, Lobster Mashed Potatoes, Brussel Sprouts and Mushrooms. We ordered what she recommended and was amazed with it all, especially the Lobster Bisque Soup. We were not rushed at all and in fact felt guilty for sitting at the table for 2 and a half hours. Kim, knew we would be too full for a desert, but brought us a Warm Butter Cake anyway, which was a perfect end to the evening. She made us feel very comfortable and made this evening one that we will not soon forget. With 3 other children at home, it is very rare for this type of opportunity. Thanks Kim and Mastro's for a wonderful evening!

Best server Blake!

By Stephanie C |

The first thing I noticed was how engaging the hostess was. We were seated upstairs and we loved the feel of privacy there. Our server was Blake a conscientious young man. I informed him that this was our first visit and he walked us through the menu and specials. We order various cuts of steak and one chicken meal. The sides were Brussels spouts, Lobster Mac and cheese and broccoli. The drinks were apple martini and lemon drops both served on dry ice and was quite the presentation! Every entree was delicious and served with the perfect temperature. We don’t live in the city so driving down for over an hour to Mastro’s was worth it!

I've had better

By Dana O |

I know craft beer has become pricey as of late, but $20 for a 12 oz bottle. Should have been 1/2 that. $62 for a dry, over done rib eye? This place is a prime example of "you don't always get what you pay for".

Disappointed

By Karla O |

I have rarely had to send a steak back. I like medium rare steak but would not send back if it was even close when in a large group setting. My medium rare bone in filet was well done. I had to say something, it was a $60 steak. To make matters worse, a second waiter came back, shined a flashlight at me and made me cut the steak numerous times to prove it. How embarrassing. Our table ordered 3 seafood towers, 3 crab cakes, salads, steaks, dessert and numerous bottles of wine. The bill was over $1500. If I don't like my steak take it back. Period. I'm not at Texas Roadhouse! To be honest I've had better steak there. The service was disappointing. If you want to impress clients I would recommend a different place, there are much better options in Chicago!

Excellent food excellent service

By Stacey D |

The food was amazing pricey but worth it! My filet was great and my friend loved his steak as well. Can share sides which our server recommended and we still had leftovers to take home! Very nice but a little dark. We had to use our phones to see the menu Highly recommend them

Birthday Dinner

By herbdonna |

Very nice , good food, went during restaurant week had a 3 course meal salad, entre and dessert 44$.you could also order off main menu a little pricey but the ambiance was very warm and welcoming. Drinks run about 17$and up . There is valet parking also . Went with a group so had private dining which was excellent. Service great and friendly. Overall very nice place and experience.

Very good steakhouse

By heather j |

Steak perfectly prepared and flavorful; sides good; warm butter cake very good. I think I prefer Maple & Ash slightly more as a Chicago steakhouse (steak & sides & atmosphere slightly better), but Mastro’s is excellent too — especially if you want cake.

Favorite in Chicago

By Chicagomarketer |

I am a huge fan of the Mastros chain and have been to many locations. The Chicago location has become a favorite. The bar is wonderful for connecting afterwork and the dining room is great for business or personal meals. My PRO TIP Mastros formula - start off with the seafood tower (shrimp cocktail is best I have had). Steaks are out of this world. Have the buttercake for dessert. Intergalactically rated! I would suggest reservations in your dining after 7:30 or on weekends.

Wonderful Venue for a Dinner Party Event!

By Dan B |

I participated in a dinner for a professional group in the event space at Mastro's and came away thoroughly impressed. The strip steak was tasty and juicy. The butter cake was hit. The assistance on wines was excellent. The Events Director, Kelly McGrath was knowledgeable, warm and committed to making our event go as smoothly as possible. Kelly, you and your staff hit it out of the park! Service was top-notch. We totally appreciated it. Very positive comments from our members.

Delicious steaks and upscale atmosphere

By RickBVa |

I dined at Mastro's Steakhouse with a group of business associate for an early dinner. We stopped by the bar waiting for late arrivals. Bar area is very nice, with great service. Bar had a musical trio later in evening. Dining area is very nice, a little too dark, as some had to use phone light to read menu. We ordered a variety of steaks and seafood entrees. I ordered the 16oz NY strip which was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. We also ordered shared sides: broccoli, mashed potatoes, mushrooms and mac-n-cheese all were very good. Servers were professional, knowledgeable and attentive. Only downside to the experience was the dessert. We ordered Mastro's Signature Warm Butter Cake and regular cheesecake. Both were just ok, nothing special. I would definitely recommend Mastro's for an excellent, classy steak dinner and will eat there again when in Chicago. Although, next time I'll skip the dessert.

Loved it!

Our anniversary. Big one 30 years. Everything was perfect. Pork chop excellent. Waiter was friendly and informative. Live entertainment was not overwhelming. You could still converse quietly.

When God said "Let There Be Steak" this place appeared

By Eric C |

As good as any steakhouse I've ever been to. Great service, great food, great atmosphere. If you're visiting Chicago and want a steak, see if the concierge at your hotel has a relationship with this place and see if they can get you a table.

What a great steak!!!

By Marco O |

Had dinner there last night with a colleague. Started with the tuna as appetizer which was good, but not great. Then I had 20oz NY strip steak. Was a superb steak that was. Really cooked to perfection and very yammie! Noticed they have a Michelin star when we walked out. I know why ;-) I’ll be back at this place!

Review Restaurant

By Tammy S |

Great "Bartender" makes the best martini's, a little expensive, but we are in downtown Chicago. Our waiter Bill was fantastic, great humor & service. Food-OMG Been a couple years since we've eaten there and as always the food was really good. Thanks for a great dinner with friends.

Good address

By FRANCESCO-CH63 |

This restaurant is high end , furniture classic, not very personal style. Service is accurate. Steak excellent. French fries too. Prices on the high level, about 100 usd for 2 courses.

Fantastic place!

By Kleb122 |

There are no words to describe how great this restaurant is! The bartender makes incredible drinks, the entertainment in the bar was fantastic and the food is phenomenal. Definitely a must go to place.

Desert and cocktails

Came for deserts and drinks only, and it was delicious. The atmosphere is great. Also during the visit they had live music and the gentlemen had a very nice voice.

Very good spot - Good food, amazing bar

By Steven C |

We eat at a LOT of steak houses here in Chicago. Many other cities, this would be a 5 star place...but it just doesn't quite get there for us. The food is very good and the bar atmosphere is outstanding! Really nice place to hang out and eat. The lower level also has some great atmosphere. The upstairs, though...meh....it's sort of a banquet feel up there. Not a fan. Overall, very good spot and we come here when tire of the one or two 5 star places. If you're looking for a bar to eat at though, would highly recommend it. I would just not sit upstairs.

Perfection

By Lawdawg27 |

This was one of the best steaks I have ever had. I had the filet, Oscar style, and it was was cooked perfectly. We had a private room that worked out great for our company dinner. The wait staff was attentive and helpful. All of the sides were very good. We also ordered some sushi rolls to share, which were surprisingly fantastic. All around great experience!

So, so good!!

By Julie K |

The food here is always so good - consistently so delicious. The lobster bisque is second to none. The steaks are always a 10/10. Can’t go wrong with any of the sides and the cocktails are always worth having 2! Love this place!!

Food does not meet expectations given high price

By Catherine T |

We had a party of 5 and some ordered steaks which were good and some ordered fish and sushi which were mediocre. Sushi was so bad we could not eat it. Will not return. We should have gone to Gibson’s, our favorite where everything on menu is outstanding

Best steak all the time

By Nuha K 56 |

We were 10 people. We had a great table. Our server Kelly was very attentive and helpful. She took our order very nicely and smoothly. Everyone got their order percectly. She devided pur checks as we liked per couples and adviced us on how to order the sides for the steaks. The desert is excellent. We definitely recommend this resturant.

Home from UAE for a dinner with my wife

By J-e I |

The night before we went to Shaw's for oyster, however, Mastro's seafood section are the best and the portion are bigger. We got a tower along with steak to share AND the lobster max and cheese. A lot of food but nice to take home. We had to wait longer to get a table and they comp us with a free desert. The only slight negative it is noisy. Next time I will ask to sit upstairs.

Overall this is a good and fancy place for steak and seafood dining

By Cavalier1994 |

Just visited this opulent restaurant for a business group dinner and came away impressed and satisfied but not deserving of an overall excellent rating. It is obviously a highly expensive steak and seafood restaurant so just know that going in. The appetizers are quite good and we ordered a bunch of seafood ones such as sea scallops, stone crab legs, dozen oysters and fried calamari. You’d be surprised to hear the sea scallops were my favorite. For my entree, I had a bone-in 12 oz filet. It was fresh and tender but the taste wasn’t 100% full of flavor. The sides were good overall - broccolini, lobster mashed potatoes and wild mushrooms. Dessert was excellent and we shared two of their famed butter cakes! The waiters are skilled and attentive though I was surprised there was no free bread for the table given the high prices. There is a wonderful bar and happy hour location and a keyboardist performed all night to 1980s and 1990s pop standards. Great setting for a business lunch, just not sure I would go by myself for a non-business meal.

Dinner at Mastro's

By janiceV1201 |

Atmosphere was very good but music was too loud. Service was excellent, was disappointed with the $58 dollar ribeye steak. My wife had the filet and she very pleased with it, the butter cake was great.

Great dining experience!

By Tony1223 |

My wife and I had never tried this restaurant but we're glad we did. I had the double cut pork chop which was outstanding. My wife enjoyed the petite filet which was cooked to perfection. The garlic mashed potatoes were and excellent compliment to our meals. Are server Brea was very helpful and attentive. I would recommend reservations because it gets crowded quickly!

Enjoyed our evening at Mastro's

By Steffi |

While attending a convention, a group of us stopped for a late dinner (around 9pm) at Mastro's on a Sunday night. As we were being seated we noticed live music in the lounge and the hostess had no problem sitting us there instead. The service was amazing, food and drinks were delicious and the entertainment was the icing on the cake that made for a enjoyable evening. I had a tuna stack (don't remember the name) appetizer which I loved. My guests enjoyed their steaks and all our side dishes were also cooked to perfection. Good food, good entertainment and good company made for a fantastic night . I will be back!

Birthday to remember

By amcal2015 |

Great place to celebrate a special day. Many steaks to choose from; our group chose 6 and 8 ounce filets. All cooked perfectly. The sides are ordered separately and ment to be shared. Each side is ample for 2 otherwise it's a generous taste for 4 people. Great service, big prices. Will return.

Birthday dinner

By JPH7916 |

Steaks and service was excellent. Omar was top notch as a waiter. Sides were great and big enough to share. Also the salad is a shareable size. They even included a free birthday cake for my wife. Drinks were also good but expensive at the bar. Add the truffle better to the steak for amazing flavor
