So our small family had made an annual spring break trip to Austin for SXSW films for the past three years. We arrive, unpack and go to Maudie's on So Lamar. It is now a traditional which I really like I always have the straight enchiladas - seasonable ground beef in a meat sauce with eggs on top. Hard to find in other places for some reason and really tasty. This visit was as good as always . My son gets breakfast tacos for dinner , my wife had some kind of chalupa with lots of lettuce . Their queso is very creamy and buttery like . Was great as always . Sorry did not get pictures on this one

Anytime we are in Austin we eat at a Maudie's Tex-Mex restaurant. We have always received great service (ask for Jordan at the location on S. Lamar). The Enchiladas Perfecto are just that...PERFECT!! Best cheese enchiladas anywhere...margaritas very good too. Be sure to include Maudie's Tex-Mex during your next visit to Austin.

This is my absolute favorite place for enchiladas! They have many to choose from but I nearly always get the Tio Chon. The margaritas are delicious and the staff very friendly. They can handle a crowd, too. I highly recommend Maudie's at any of their locations.

Please read if you are interested in seeing how Maudie's cares, & goes above & beyond for their guests. I had to come out of Yelp retirement to spotlight excellent customer service! My brother's 50th bday was this week, & as he lives in Washington DC now, (but spent years for work in Austin), he calls Austin his second home, & Maudie's his favorite tex mex restaurant. He started taking me over a decade ago. I find that everything on the menu is fresh & amazing. My brother found his favorite, Enchiladas Perfecto. There's amazing sauce on top, that he claims no one can replicate. You see, when he moved, he tasked his wife with trying to make it- fail. He searched restaurants fall & wide for something similar on this signature sauce - Fail. He could not find. He talks about it all the time. So, naturally when his 50th bday came up, & you have to find a gift for the guy who has everything? Long story short, I live in Florida. I sent an email explaining my brother's love for Maudie's and the sauce, and asking a tall order - is there a way I can purchase and you can somehow send to him in DC. I received text messages and amazing communication about making it happen! I honestly was quite surprised. This team took time out of their schedule to prep some extra fresh sauce, package it up, get it to USPC packed in dry ice and had it delivered on his bday! They went further, threw in a hand written card, & a really cool hat! To say he was surprised & overjoyed, is an understatement. A wonderful local company went above and beyond, and now we will tell this story to everyone! They could have ignored my e-mail. They could have said, hey we dont really do that....its a pain to send it out blah blah blah. Someone cared enough about their guests and raving fan to make a bday wish come true. There's lots of wonderful Mexican food in Austin, and all very different. But if you want fresh, amazing food while getting the best attention to customer service, go to Maudies. They actually care about your business! Thank you team Maudies for making my brother the happiest man on his bday, and for making me the champion of "the best present" award! Here's a goofy pic of him and his daughter, as they made some cheese enchiladas at home, with the famous added Perfecto sauce that he loves so much! Bday Boy & His silly daughter: Homemade Enchilada's Perfecto!

Had late lunch/early dinner on Sunday. Patio seating. Extensive menus (food & drinks). Good service. Great flavor. Fresh ingredients. Helpful & responsive to a member of our party that required GF menus. Will go back next time I'm in town. 🇨🇱

I live within 1/4mile of this overlooked location. This is a solid bet for reasonably priced TexMex with a short wait. Actually there's usually no wait, but if you are seeking TexMex south of the river on a weekend that usually = a wicked wait. Fajitas for 2 here are a good value, enchiladas are pretty good, and Pete's Tantalizing tacos are a killer value before 4pm (given the free chips & salsa). Burgers are supposed to be awesome (can't bring myself to order this at a Mexican place). My main gripe is the salsa...a bit too spicy and just not very good. But it's free and not horrible. The inside portion of the restaurant is also pretty f'n loud. There are better places, but most of them aren't good enough to justify the extra wait + $$

I was ready for some Tex-Mex food after my arrival in Austin. Maudie's Too was just the place to go. Even though it was a Friday evening, I did not have to wait for a table. The food was great and the service was very good.

The salsa is thick and tasty! I liked the vegetarian potatoes and rajas tacos on corn with black beans. My friends had hearty plates of delicious Mexican food.

First time here. It was still crowded for a late lunch. Everything we ate was great! Good selections, pricing, and portions.

I order the Tio Chon. Great mixture, but this was not the way it was described in the menu. The chips and salsa was good and fast. They do not sell Sweet Tea. The enchiladas, rice and beans were nothing special. The food was in the oven too long as the cheese was burned. The service is not all that great.

Delicious, crispy tortilla chips with salsa that had a nice kick. Enchiladas with chili con Queso was delish. It had a nice kick to it and very flavorful.

Actually did not find a listing for the Airport Maudie's - so here goes. Maudie's in the Austin Bergstrom Airport is the best spot to grab one or a load of breakfast tacos - Fast. The kitchen assembles tacos all morning and replenishes the serving rack at a record pace - we only have waited once for the re-load in a dozen trips. You can get a couple conventional breakfast tacos there and a coffee at Austin Java and you are ready to fly!

Had the regular dinner. Cheese enchiladas are really good. Crispy taco wasn't so good--meat wasn't very tasty, and the tomatoes, lettuce, whatever are served on the side, so you have to put it together. No red sauce to put on it or on the chips, even though one of the party requested some but it never came. Austin's got better.

So I used to love Maudies and frequented various locations around town. I went last week and was disappointed, the service was very very slow and the restaurant was nowhere close to being full. The server seemed harried and upset and our food was lackluster at best. This saddens me as this is an Austin staple, I hope they pull it together.

Sat at small bar and ordered Potato Rajas Plate and a margarita both for $5.50. The food was a much better deal as it was fresh and tasty. On the other hand the margarita was small, short on tequila and served in a glass full of ice. Next time I'll just order a beer. Found the bartender to be friendly and the food was served pretty quick.

As a customer once I give my order it usally comes in a timely manner.. My group and I had to wait close to an hour to get our food. Also more than once we had to ask for water refills. The worst part is that I ordered my margarita to come with my meal. It didn't show up till after we were finished eating and about to leave. It is not my job to remind someone over and over about what there job is. Not to mention it was a horribly tasting drink. My husband tried to explain that this is not when we wanted this and for our trouble he wanted a discount. The waitress was extremly rude. ( short hispanic woman that was very hard to understand and was extremly crass) she told us all she could do was take a quater off.. HA that was not goin to fly. Then he went and talked to the guy who said he could speak for the manager. He was even worse. He said he came to the table more than once and no one said anything to him. 1 he was/is not the manager or the waiter 2 he was not there only twice and 3 it is not my job to tell him my order check the ticket dude!!! So he gave my husband some " good neighbor" creidt.. then the brought the fixed ticket to us and makes more excuses and says hey I cam by here and no one said anything.. I pipped up and said its not my job to remind my waitress of my order then after we are leaving the manager finall shows herself in the dining room and asks us all huffed " if we are good?" I told her I was fine . She accosted someone in our group she explained that it should never of happened.. I will not be returning..

So I walked her...I love to walk from my hotel about 2 miles away based on multiple locals recommendations. The place looks nice...not far from the popular Alamo movie theater. But once entering it all goes downhill. (note Texas pun since they have no hills). Anyways the server sucked...she had no clue about customer service. I even had had multiple servers bring me things without any explanation. Margarita here you go. Taco here you fo. No beer on tap, its all in cans. Anyways to the food...EVERYTHING tasted like t came out of a sysco food service ca,. Nothing was presentable or favorable. Hell. when i make make refried beans at home they are from scratch and taste 100 times better, Same with my rice. So, if you are ok with a chain texmex type food ok....but if you want authentic you will will be disappointed.

best hot sauce, cheese you can find around. fiata meat just outstanding. none better. best mexican in austin,.

Maudie's Too has a nice SoLa vibe and great staff, but whoever is in the kitchen is all over the map, especially on anything other than predictably gooey cheese enchiladas. The salads are alternately great with fresh greens, strips of jicama, and deftly applied dressing to something I'd expect at Denny's, iceberg drowning in dressing. The fajitas, especially chicken fajitas, go from great to gummy and tasteless. I note another reviewer found the staff rude. At least the Sunday evening crew rocks. I have, however, been on other days and experienced unconscionable delays.

Three of us stopped for lunch and missed the rush, if there was one. My husband had the Power Bowl and two of us ordered crispy corn shell tacos from the lunch menu. Mine came in a soft flour shell - drat! I hate sending food back knowing it just gets tossed away, so I counted on it being good anyway. Unfortunately, the water from the lettuce salad hadn't been drained off and soaked the tortilla contributing to the lack of flavor in the chicken. The salsa from the chips saved the taco. My husband liked the Power Bowl and our friend had no complaints about the beef taco.

Maudie's on South Lamar is no longer an option for me. I was served burnt nachos which were totally black charred on the bottom. I notified the manager and was offered only a $1.50 credit. I was served a margarita where soap was still in the glass. The waitress was super rude. Come on Maudie's. There are too many good Tex Mex Restaurants in Austin now to be like that.

Was late getting out to eat and this Maudies was just the thing. First visit there. Food was good. Location seemed neighborhood football and beer drinking crowd. Adults. Ambiance was different from south Maudies but good for a strip center. Parking. North of town.

Maudie's is like an old friend, always there when you need her, still the same, welcoming as ever. Tex-Mex to the max, we loved our three pronged appetizers (guac, queso, beans) and our entrees were all devoured. My one complaint was the volume level--we could barely hear one another speak on an early Saturday evening, about 6pm. Free parking, full bar, outdoor patio.

just great food and service consistently good. everytime we go to austin we eat there one hundred car

yuck. There's better tex-mex

I have to admit, I cannot give a review of very much of the menu. I get stuck where when I go there I have to order their enchiladas. I love Mexican food and could probably eat it 3 or 4 times a week. But this is my absolute favorite place for enchiladas. I always order the Tio Chon style enchiladas. They are cheese enchiladas, with chili con carne, diced onions, ranchero sauce, chile con queso, lettuce and tomato. If you don't like them real spicy you had better tell them because these come out spicy.

best fajita meat around, wonderfully tasty and juicy meat. wonderful employees tea stays full,, beer is ice cold and best chips and sauce around.

I have been here a few times and LOVE this place! The guacamole, queso and salsa are to die for. You don't have to spend a lot for what you get and everything I have tried is amazing. I am gluten free and was vegetarian. They are very helpful to help you did something that fits your needs. A new special they have is called the margarita mule. It is a skinny margarita with a splash of ginger beer- YUM!!!! Sitting on the patio really fulfills the 'Austin Vibe'. This is a win win all around

While in the area on a short vacation, we visited our son in Austin and he took us to Maudie's Too for a "genuine Tex-Mex BBQ" dinner. Everything about this place was right... it looked the role of a genuine Texas BBQ joint, smelled the role of genuine BBQ and sounded like a real BBQ restaurant. We had a great time and the food was really good. We had a great time and even ordered a dessert, which usually isn't done (except maybe for a cobbler or apple pie...) in a BBQ place. It was good too. This is the way it is done for BBQ.

You have to go!, they have various location around Austin. I love it! For me they have a lot good dishes, my favorites are: Chorizo with scramble eggs tacos, Rice with two over medium eggs, carnitas tacos, and the black beans are really close to mexican beans!.

The absolute best! Love Maudie’s!!! Live in Dallas and I eat here every visit, multiple times! Miss it so much.

We went to this local chain on a Monday and Monday has happy hour all night. Not only are there a few dollars off of most drinks, there is a nice selection of appetizers for about 2/3 of the regular price, all five dollars. We ordered three appetizers and we were very happy with that. We had seen the early show at the Saxon which is next-door and the entire band ended up sitting at the next table to us.The men’s bathroom was the clincher though. There is a painting that I will add on the wall of what I first thought was Jesus with the Sacred Heart but I now think it is The Virgin Mary. Visions are rarely clear.

We ended up eating here by accident during our family vacation to Texas, but are so glad we did! The atmosphere was so comfortable, and so welcoming to a couple with a 1 year old! The food was good and the margaritas better, and the service was excellent - as if friends were having us over for dinner. We will be back next time we are in Austin!

The fish tacos were good, the dinner salad was excellent. The restaurant was pretty dirty though. Prices were good.

Maudies Too is one of the four Maudies in Austin and the only one that we have visited. It is a good size, friendly, down home kind of place that serves true TexMex food. It can be a little loud but not offensively so. The service was wonderful - over the top wonderful in a very down home kinda way. The food was straightforward TexMex and we both loved it!! Since it is just ten minutes from our home, it will become a regular stop for us.

Had dinner here before a show. We were pleasantly surprised by the happy hour menu, and I enjoyed the Mexican Martini. The waitress, Siri, was the best! She gave us great service, and seemed friendly, hip and caring. The food was delicious, an edgy take on Tex Mex fare, flavorful and spicy. Great location to South Lamar shows and shopping. Highly recommend!

Great little Mexican Food joint in the popular S Lamar retail district! Breakfast, lunch and dinner items on the menu..so many choices it was hard to order! Ended up everybody got something different and we passed the plates. Delicious Food, Great Service and reasonable prices. Migas were spicy - just the way i like it, nachos were large, fajitas were sizzling, enchiladas covered in queso. Great prices and quick service. Lots of great Mexican in Austin - this one is definitely worth the visit.

Visiting Austin for work and a friend recommend this place to get Tex Mex. We had delicious margaritas, queso, and entrees. I had the veggie relleno and she had one of the enchilada plates. Good service, good drinks, good food.

We heard this was really good. They weren't busy and the service was not good. The food was OK but not great. I was disappointed.

We went there Saturday afternoon. Walking in, the floor was full of food crumbs pressed into the carpet everywhere. The Staff was just standing around close to kitchen, just kinda hanging out and they all looked so sloppy and unkept. The waitress who had the booths closest to the windows appeared to be constantly picking her food out of her teeth with her tongue as she attended to her customers. The kid who bought our chips and salsa looked as if he has just walked across the street fom his job as an mechanic. His nails were filthy and his hair was in his eyes. I myself chose not to order but the rest of my party did with regret. The chili con queso was just melted velveta cheese. The pulled chicken enchilada tasted like wet dog. The staffs appearance just turned my stomache. They actually affected my appetite. Not all places in Austin are hip and cool. This is one that should be on the health inspectors list. Soon!!

I'm a fan of the veggie fajitas.

So good.. seriously! Did a huge takeout order the night we got into town and felt compelled to go get brekkie there the next morning. Stellar service, great prices, and super tasty food! I will predict I will eat here at least 2 more times over the next 3 days. And I look forward to eating here on my next trip to Austin. I could see doing takeout during SXSW as it might be far enough out of the fray.

I usually go to Maudie's on Lake Austin, but this location is a winner, too. I wish I had their queso secret, it's the best. One of my fave menu items are the quesadillas blancas with carnitas, which are more like street tacos than quesadillas.

We've been to several Maudie's locations in Austin but this was our first visit to Maudie's Too. We were dismayed by the depressing paint color inside - walls, ceiling, floors were a solid pewter gray. It was very depressing but the food still can't be beat! Great queso, tacos, salsa, etc. Friendly wait staff and a good time but still, that depressing color.

Maudie’s has always been a great place, but this location I don’t get to very often any more. So when a friend asked where’s a good place for Tex-Mex close to downtown, this immediately came to mind as a place to go. While the area has changed around it (with the addition of large condos next door), the ability to park here has not been affected. Space is limited, but some street parking is also available. As this was a house converted years ago into a business, it retains that local atmosphere and hometown feel. Facing the street is a large covered patio section which can used for three-season dining. Like the interior space, there are a lot of tables in this intimate setting, but it doesn’t feel crowded. The menus at Maudie’s are the same at all the locations, so I knew my favorite dish would be available. Normally I get the Josie’s Enchiladas, but this time I went for the chicken enchiladas with a chipotle sauce. These were very tasty, with the right amount of spice level to give it a good kick without it overpowering the flavor. My friend went for the chicken fajitas from the “Under 500” menu, which essentially a regular fajita dish without the tortillas. Even our server joked that it should just be called the “chicken fajita plate.” My friend not only enjoyed her meal, but was glad she’d been introduced to an Austin original. For me, it was nice to revisit a place which used a frequented destination when visiting other (now-closed) merchants in the area. For those who are close to downtown, this is an ideal place to go.

We enjoyed our food from Maudie’s. Two of our party of four got fajitas, one got enchiladas, and one got a quesadilla. All were happy with the food. We also ordered guacamole to go with the chips and salsa and the serving size was larger than I expected and the taste was good. The salsa has a little kick but not too bad. The “skinny margarita” was a little strong for my taste but if you love tequila, you’ll enjoy it! I would return.

The food and drinks here are great, our waitress was not great and was rude to our table. She wasn’t very accommodating and made our experience less great. The margaritas and swirls are delicious though

We ate here prior to seeing a show at Saxon Pub -- wanted somewhere we could walk from. Maudie's too certainly didn't blow us away, but it was fine basic Tex-Mex, and was just what we were looking for. Very tasty skinny Margaritas, good enchiladas, salsa is the right heat. Nothing special, but a good option in the area.

Stopped in here for dinner on a Saturday night during SXSW, and was surprised it wasn't standing-room only. Beautiful day/night outside, so we took a seat outside, in the covered/screened patio. Very friendly servers, and fast service. Pretty standard menu, but great food nonetheless. Really good shrimp tacos!

The breakfast tacos were good. The variety is good and one can choose Monterrey Jack cheese or the Mexican white crumbly cheese besides the American processed cheese. This is a good place for breakfast.

Yummy! A must try. Great customer service, indoor and outdoor seating, and food is on point!! Pet and kid friendly.

Big menu with lots of things to choose from but not much flavor. The guacamole looked good but was bland. The salsa was the only thing that had some zing and flavor. The chips are very salty. We were all a bit disappointed on our entrees. The best one seemed to be the Shrimp stuffed Avocado - lots of small shrimp and chunks of avocado in a shell surrounded with chopped lettuce and tomato. Very doubtful if we'll go back.

I was afraid that we would have a long wait since we arrived at noon (peak weekend brunch time and all), but we walked in and seated ourselves without any wait at all. A waitstaff member promptly came over with menus and silverware and took our drink order. When drinks came, we ordered food and had only a brief wait before our dishes came out. I had coffee with French toast, scrambled eggs, and bacon. The french toast was awesome- topped with powdered sugar and cinnamon. My husband had the sweet potato hash with black beans and a side of corn tortillas. He seemed well satisfied with his choice, even though he is not a fan of sweet potatoes. Overall, it was a great experience with both service and food quality exceeding our expectations. We will have to come back to this hidden gem next time we are on the south side.

great place, an austin fav from what the locals said that took us there. good service, great adult beverages, and killer mexican and other type food. comfortable and easy to find. go there!

Food was okay. A little salty. Service was fair. A number of people in there for lunch. Floor was VERY dirty!!! The place could use a good cleaning!

My husband and I walked away from Maudie's wondering what all the fuss was about. We arrived around 9:00 p.m. on a Friday and the place was insanely busy. We were seated fairly quickly but languished at our table waiting for our server to ever show up. The service was exceptionally slow and the food was very average. I got the quesadillas and my husband the cheese enchiladas - we were starving but found the meal utterly forgettable. This is Texas, there are literally thousands of other Mexican places to chose from from. We won't be back again anytime soon.

My wife brought me here for a late breakfast. The migas were terrific, and the skinny margarita was equally good. Service was fast, too. I would definitely come back.

I love eating at Muadie's Too! Breakfast, lunch, dinner, anytime. Inexpensive meals, great happy hour prices, and wonderful service! I have never had a bad experience there. I like that the menu is varied--leaning on Tex-Mex, of course, but still other choices. And, did I say the service is wonderful? The waitstaff is friendly and professional. The place is small, so it can get noisy inside because the acoustics are bad. Don't go there if you want to talk privately with that new secret lover. Or, hear what she/he attempts to whisper to you. However, the patio is a nice place to sit on these cooler days in Austin.

This is a regular place for us, living so close. Good standard fare, everyone will be happy. They also have a GF menu, though not abundant with choices, is fantastic for the GF crowd- and an indication of how conscientious this place is. Not a place for a quiet meal. It is small and packed together, so we tend to avoid this at peak times.

Food was great, we had chicken chili rellenos and guac. Prices were very good. Services was great. I appreciate the gluten free chips and using healthy oils for cooking! But...it was very loud. I guess that's good for kiddos and happy hours. We went on the early side and didn't have to wait.

You can't help but go to Maudie's to start off your week. Reliable food and good Margaritas. They have some healthy choices and gluten free options

We didn't have a chance to go for dinner but tried breakfast. It was pretty bland. With so many places in the Austin area, try somewhere else for breakfast. I can't say anything about dinner though.

This was a great place for our family. They had great Tex Mex, good atmosphere (our waiter was awesome), good drinks (not strong), and breakfast all day! My son is now addicted to their French toast. It's our new favorite restaurant when we visit Austin.

Good, quick, Tex-Mex food. Easy to find on South Lamar but parking is limited. Always quite a few people there I have eaten at several Maidie’s and the food and service are predictably good. The queso dip could be improved though.

I stopped in at Maudie's while travelling for work. A colleague had recommended it, and I was staying nearby in the Lamar Union area. I had planned on a quick bite but ended up having dinner, a couple drinks, and great conversation with a bunch of friendly folks from the neighborhood. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating - it was still almost 100 degrees out so I sat at the bar. It was buzzing on a Tuesday night. I had a couple tex-mex staples- beef tacos, queso, and margheritas. All top notch and reasonably priced. The really cool thing is that the menu appears to be a guideline. If you know something you like, you ask for it. No problem. The "regulars" there told me that the staff is so nice that they can't imagine going anywhere else for tex-mex. That is saying a lot in Austin. I highly recommend it.

This is a must visit when in Austin. Authentic yummy Tex-Mex food, dog friendly, what could be better? Probably service. We had to actually chase our waiter down to get our bill. Other than that, it was a lovely meal.

Chips and salsa of above average quality, served immediately upon being seated. Really fresh tortillas. Always corn in my case with potato, melted cheese, sausage, Serranos and egg were nicely done. Quick, easy, tasty and cheap.

I love the Tatiana's tamale taco ... its my favorite dish at Maudies and their chips and salsa which are complimentary are good too.

It probably sounds bad when I say that nothing really jumps out about Maudie's, but it's our regular Tex-Mex fix. We frequent this South Lamar location, as well as the Lake Austin Blvd restaurant. Casual, but usually efficient service, great migas with chorizo, good queso, and lots of choices, including some low-calorie options. Good Austin vibe!

Try the Diablo Soul Food!

I was in Austin for SXSW and Maudie's Too came highly recommended by a former local, so I hopped a Lyft to have lunch. It totally wasn't worth the hassle and expense. I was hoping for tasty Tex-Mex since I was in Texas, but this place disappointed me in every way imaginable. The "dive bar" vibe is casual and comfortable, with a good-sized outdoor patio. We sat inside since it was a nice day and the patio was packed. This isn't a fancy atmosphere, and usually that's a sign of killer good food. The food here, though, is just okay. I'd more accurately call it "mediocre." We ordered queso and chips, chicken fajitas, enchiladas, and a margarita. Nothing was anything to write home about, and it was standard-issue fare. The fajitas looked like they came out of a bag, and the veggies didn't have that nice caramelized texture. The biggest travesty of all: the tortillas are not homemade. The black beans were disappointing, as was the queso (looked like something I could've made at home with a package of Velveeta). The enchiladas were the best thing about the meal. If you're seeking authentic style food with tons of spice and flavor, you're going to be disappointed in Maudie's Too. Even the margarita was forgettable. This wasn't the worst place I ate in Austin, but it's not somewhere I'd return. And yeah, the bathrooms are DISGUSTING and DIRTY.

Found this place on a site focused on happy hour offerings in Austin and glad we did. They have their own parking lot, which is convenient for this area. Walking inside, we were seated promptly in their semi-dark dining area by an exterior wall, although they also offer an enclosed patio in front that has fans. Wife tried a Signature Rita ($6), which she said was good. We ordered the Appetizer Trip ($5) for the table, which included guac, queso, and a smoky bean dip. It was OK but we actually preferred the salsa that initially came to the table and had a nice kick. My wife and I split the Nachos Supreme ($6), which was a tasty experience of tortilla chips loaded with refried beans and cheese surrounding the perimeter of the dish and a mix of pickled carrots, peppers, guac, and pico in the middle. Son ordered Tacos al Pastor ($11.75) that he said was good and daughter did 2 Blanco Verde Taco ($7) which she also liked. We split Tres Leches ($6) and Sopapillas (3.25) for dessert. The Tres Leches was decent sized and pretty good, the Sopapillas were OK as they were a little dry for my taste. Overall, glad we stumbled across this option and would try it again if in the area.

Waited 15 minutes for a waitress. Service was surly and just plan bad. So many drunks the noise level required waitress yelling at us for or order and us yelling back to be heard. Won't be back. Sad liked this place.

This is a great place for Tex Mex dishes. The menu is huge. Tamales and taco selections were delicious. The chips are thin and not greasy. Salsa good enough to drink right out of the bowl. Service is good, attentive and quick. Prices are very reasonable

Don't go to a national or Texas chain for Tex-Mex. Try Maudie's Austin take on Tex-Mex and be sure to get the cheese enchilada's. Good salsa as well.
Favorite Place in Austin!
I looovveeee Maudie's. It is a definite MUST when visiting Austin. This location, S. Lamar, is my favorite location and I think they've got the best staff ever. I always get the Diablo Queso and Beef Fajita Tacos on Corn Tortillas-- they've also got a gluten free menu AND gluten free CHIPS! Thank goodness! Maudie's is a must. It is so delicious, the people are friendly and its an Austin Original!
