Great Snack and Great Views

We stopped by for a late lunch snack of salmon on sour dough with a tomato and rucola salad. Was really perfect ! The views are perfect !

Excellent view and brunch

By Kim W |

Lovely French themed restaurant in Pike's Market. The brunch was amazing! The service was a bit slow but the food made up for it.

GET YOUR WALLET OUT

By Cindy R |

Food was very good. Fresh oysters. Delicious Mussels just like in Belgium. Lovely patio to relax on and soak in the fresh air and atmosphere. Unlike France.....they want those tables turned. But I was there too early for dinner so I didn't feel rushed because dinner seating had not begun yet. You probably need a reservation for a dinner - possibly even lunch. Be warned, however, if you do go in between - the menu is limited. But I had a big bowl of mussels so I had plenty to eat.

Away from the flying fish and segways

By timiniowa |

Hidden in Pikes Market with views of the bay, this refuge dishes out French fare and comfort. I usually make a point of having lunch here every time I visit Seattle. Soup and salad or frites and a croque it's Saul Goodman. And it feels miles away from the carnival that is Pikes Place

Hidden gem

By bailarina5678 |

I have been to Pike Place Market hundreds of times and did not know this place existed, and it’s been here about 40 years! Finding it can be tricky because navigation will take you to the waterfront side of the market. If driving, park anywhere along Pike Place Market and go to the spot where they throw fish. The restaurant will be directly to the left. The food menu is small but everything we had deliciously prepared. The wine menu is substantial and the views are beautiful. The dining room might only have 10 tables or so. It is a quaint little hidden gem. My fish was cooked perfectly, the wine pairing suggested was on point and my water glass was never empty. The service is top notch. The perfect balance between feeling served but not smothered. This is a a wonderful romantic date spot. Dinner for two with a moderately priced bottle of wine will run around $175. Worth it!

Tasty food, lovely view and friendly service, right in Pike Place market

By Helene B |

I like everything about Maximilien: the authentic French food, the friendly service, the lovely view on the Puget Sound, the warm atmosphere and even the French songs! Perfect for a dinner with friends. A little bit hard to find the first time as it's almost hidden in Pike Place market

Nice, cozy French restaurant

Nice outdoor seating, overseeing water. Located right in famous Pike place, Seattle. Delicious French food.

Still remains a Hidden Gem at Pike Place!

By lamronby |

Yes, I'm back here again, with more visits being a certainly... I do say "hidden gem" because you do have to kind of look for it (or ask). It's located on the south end of the market (below and to the left of the giant "PUBLIC MARKET CENTER" sign. Once you walk in the corner, passing some seafood merchants you can't miss it due to the bright red neon signage. One of the best restaurant water views on the Seattle waterfront. And, hands down a great place to enjoy a sunset dinner (when Seattle actually has sun). Beyond that, sunset or no sunset, evening dining is highly recommended for the mesmerizing view of the animated light show generated by the more newly built ("Great") Ferris Wheel. Now beyond atmosphere, the food is equally amazing. They definitely do appetizers right! From the foie gras to the escargot to the sinfully rich roasted bone marrow. In addition to the extra foie gras we each had, we also chose the current tasting menu. I opted for the seared halibut, my partner had the Duck Confit. Both awesome, well prepared and well enjoyed. I will personally add that the seared halibut was "spoon" tender! OMG, it crossed my palate so perfectly. I ate all of it, tender and juicy skin and all! And, yes the creme brulee was world class as well...

Picture Perfect!

I loved the California Eggs Benedict brunch I ate there. The smoked salmon was the best I ever ate! It was a beautiful French restaurant overlooking Lake Washington and all the ships. Service was friendly and efficient and the food was seasoned perfectly and looked amazing. Outside rooftop garden was a delight for our whole family.

French Food and Great View

By CTMans |

Maximilien is located in Pike Place Market just beyond the fishmongers. The restaurant is undeniably French. The maitre'd greets everyone with a French accent. Unfortunately, he ignored my party waiting for his attention, even tending to someone that he should have known had rudely stepped in front of us. Very frustrating. He did have a lovely table reserved for us, however, and the view of the waterfront was spectacular. The menu is rather small (just a handful of entree choices), but the dishes are expertly prepared and very good. Prices are on the high side and table service is very efficient and more polite.

Potential not realized

By L1drake |

This should be a five star rating, but sadly I cannot give five stars. Please, if the owner of Maximilien reads these postings realise you have a staffing problem. After our visit I read all the poor ratings on Trip Advisor and they are almost all due to poor service. Our waitress was one of the most abrupt, cold, disinterested servers I have ever experienced. Her impact on what should have been a great experience was amazing. The food, wine, and ambiance were amazing. The location in Pike’s Market, great. So sad the service negatively impacted all of that.

Good french restaurant with a great view and a sweet breeze

By laurie b |

Food was good and authentic, I tried the french onion soup and the mussels with fries with a white beer it was a good match. Staff and service provided overall were great. If the day is nice enough i would recommend to take a table outside to enjoy the nive view.

Supper sunset!

By Likesmifood |

Called in for a drink and had a great view over the waterfront and distant mountains of Olympic Park. Went for a wander around the market and decided to go back for supper on the off chance. Couldn’t have mad a better choice with good food cooked well. Chowder was very tasty, Halibut with Beurre Blanc sauce very good and the Confit of Duck was tender and the garlic potatoes superb, I’m told. If you like French food then this is a great place to try with a view just perfect for supper.

Great French cuisine with American flair!

By Keith W |

Wonderful food with great atmosphere. Our waiter was great and the food tasted awesome! Definitely sit outside if the weather is good!

Nice food and view

By Paolabedoya |

I went with my family on Monday. When we arrive we were located in our table very soon. We order 2 the lunch of the day, salmon and chicken sandwich was grate, hamburger, a plain salad an couscous salad. The waitress seam to be lack of experience but the view and food made worth the visit to this restaurant

Excellent food and wine, with a view!

By Paul L |

After the hustle and bustle of the Pike Place market, I felt like eating somewhere with a view of the water that was a little calmer. This place ticked all of the boxes, the market salad with smoked salmon was excellent (a generous portion of salmon). The wine selection was very good, and the cheese course was also ok (full marks for accompaniments of salted almonds, grapes and fig jam, the cheeses themselves were good if not great). The staff were also very friendly despite the fine-dining atmosphere. Very good!

We were disappointed with their food.

By T L |

The restaurant has a cool romantic vibe, but the food we had was less than. We went on Valentine's Day and they served a fixed menu. We knew they were overpriced going in, therefore we expected good food for it. My wife is a foodie and she compared the experience to wedding catering. She assumed the chefs lapse was more about maximizing Valentines day for as much profit as possible. Totally understand that but unfortunately the food they delivered drove our negative experience.

A really nice restaurant in Pikes Place Market?? Really?

By Dennis B |

Yes, really. I couldn't believe that the worlds largest tourist (trap) market has a really good restaurant! My wife had the duck and I had the frenched pork chop, both were fabulous. The staff was fearless and professional but the food was nice. Thanks for the great experience. This restaurant is on the main floor and easy to get to. Reserve a table outside and enjoy the view.

Not what we expected

By Ann D |

The food was fair, but not what we hoped it to be. The selection was very limited. We went there for our daughter’s birthday celebration and found that is was definitely lacking. Our water did manage to put a candle in her dessert so I guess it wasn’t all bad.

Always the best in the market

By Michael W |

Maximilien's continues to be our favorite Pike Place haunt. Great drinks, food and view; it does not disappoint. The mussels are delish and the staff attentive. Either inside or out, a great experience.

Pricey but delicious french food but don't order the fries

By SNB |

Arrived at 12noon well before our 145pm reservation on a Saturday in June but we were greeted at the front desk and promptly seated at a table next to the windows with a great view of the waterfront. Service was very friendly and good. Salade Verte au Roquefort was fresh and tasty. Moules Mariniere were served hot and were tasty. French fries were quite disappointing as they were not served hot and were limp and not crispy. Pan-seared Alaskan Halibut was served hot in a beurre blanc sauce with potatoes and mushrooms and was quite tasty and delicious. French baguette was good but unfortunately unsalted butter was not offered. Overall, with the exception of the limp french fries, we were quite satisfied with our lunch at Maximilien but be prepared because it is quite pricey.

Indulge! Maximilien is Worth It.

By Eric T |

Delightfully hidden off the beaten path, Maximilien is a treasure. Four of us celebrated a sister's birthday here and were thrilled with the entire experience. We had an early evening reservation so the place was not packed - yet! Intentionally, each of us ordered different starters and entrees, all of which were superb. Rather than detail each I can simply vouch for an amazing menu and chef. Service was equal parts pleasant and professional throughout the evening. The sunset over the The Sound simply added more to the ambience. Some reviewers find Maximilien a tad pricey. For us the cost was easily worth the evening. Go and find out for yourselves.

Manager lies to customers

By Sarge10 |

Can’t review the food as they would not seat us. Were told they were fully booked while the restaurant had many empty tables. Was denied seating at the bar stating that too was full. Two other patrons came in after us, also without reservations, and were seated at the bar in the exact seats we requested that was just being vacated. Apparently you need to be friends with the staff or perhaps a particular race to eat here. Had a big appetite with a big budget...big mistake. And yes...we spoke to the manager who happened to be the person who denied us seating by lying to us about seating availability. He admitted to lying and offered us a free drink. No thanks. Don’t eat here if you want to be discriminated against and lied to.

We're regulars, we love the food, the owners and staff are polite and efficient, and it has a great view of Elliot Bay, the Salish Sea and the Olympic Mountains.

To bad...

By laears |

The service doesn't match the view!!! Was about 6:00P.M. on nice mid March night, asked someone that worked in the market for nice place with view for drinks and patio, they said Maximilien. Started off slow... waited 2-3 minutes for host to come to door, got seated outside with a attitude,,,then waited 5-7 minutes for waiter to take drink order, then waited 3-4 minutes for drinks,,,never seen waiter again till asked for check, waited 2-3 minutes for that and ended up bringing to bar to pay. Wouldn't waste my money on dinner for that kind of service.

TOTALLY a rip-off to have an added 5% fee to the bill !

By chrisDTW |

DISTURBING to see that this restaurant has added another tax onto customers bill! They add a "5% surcharge" to the bill "100% of this charge is retained by the restaurant and NOT paid to service staff". I always pay 20-25% tip, but you are forcing me to pay 15% tip. SERVICE CHARGE is the tip expected by the SERVERS, for their service. The restaurant already makes money off of food but mostly alcohol sales. Squeezing more money from customers is rude and a disservice to your employees. 🤬🤬🤬 ****UPDATE: I wrote this review after I left the restaurant and within minutes, the rude French owner/manager/host CALLED ME ON THE PHONE to berate me and he charged me a cancellation fee of $105 and told me "never return, or I will call the police to arrest you for trespassing"....!! UNREAL! I have never heard of a restaurant owner harassing a customer! I have reviewed tons of Google reviews about this restaurant, many wonderful reviews but a ton of negative reviews about the 5% "tax" that is kept by the restaurant and not given to the servers, as well as many reports of "snooty service". This guy/restaurant seems to enjoy making extra money by charging cancellation fees in addition to the 5% charge!! Read their other negative reviews, it's not just me. Interestingly, the negative reviews on TripAdvisor match those at Google, pinpointing the poor service, hijacking the reservations fees , the 5% "tax" and the rude manager/host/owner.

It didn’t work for us

By mbg |

We must have gone on a bad day, as we found nothing here to enjoy for our late lunch. Our waiter really wanted to be somewahere else and actually yawned and rolled his eyes at one point. DW had a cup of soup, which she didn’t finish, and I had steak frites, which was not well prepared. Nothing worse than fatty and undercooked steak, which this was. The frites were fair. Oh well ..

Amazing Food, Service and View!

By almirati |

I was lucky enough to visit on an incredible-weather day so I sat up on the patio and took in the breathtaking views. Nice wine list with knowledgeable and attentive servers and linen table cloths. Nice lunch specials. Quite possibly the best meal I have eaten in ages with the weather, the view, the food, the service and how it all combined magically. Couldn't recommend this place more if you visit Pike's. Price wasn't crazy, but it's going to set you back further than some of the other places.

Something Missing?

By BigOrangeCat |

We have been going to Maximilien in the Pike Place Market for years and enjoyed their French cuisine. However, this last visit for lunch seemed like something was missing. Our first indication was when the French soup was delivered. The waiter spilled some of it delivering it to the table. He apologized, but most restaurants, particularly French ones, would have returned it and brought a fresh cup of soup. After that the service became very slow. Even though we were one of the first to be seated for lunch, their signature mussel dish (Les moules Maximilien) took over 45 minutes to be served. There was no explanation for the delay only periodic reassurances that the dish would be out very soon. To add to our disappointment after waiting so long, the Les moules Maximilien dish was not up to par. There were plenty of mussels, but the broth was mainly a bland cream sauce with barely any onions in the dish and even those were not "caramelized" as advertised on their menu. Not sure if they cooked it at the last minute because they somehow kept forgetting our order or if the preparation has just gone downhill. In any case, we are taking Maximilien off our Pike Place Market best restaurants list and in the future will try one of the many other excellent restaurants in the area.

Hidden Gem

By LaBubba |

Though we had a late lunch we wanted a light supper, so we ordered escargot, onion soup and bone marrow. All was extremely good, as was the service.

ONE OF THE BEST RESTAURANTS IN PIKE MARKET

By realbigbear |

Like most good sit-down restaurants in Pike, Maximillen's is pricey. We resented having to pay for bread. But the food and the service are very, very good. We had scallops, and they were excellent. .If you can get a table near a window, you will have a view of the water. Given the restaurants location and reputation, we definitely recommend reservations at any time..

One of the Best French Restaurant in Seattle,WA

By Celita Welsch |

As I had in my list we had dinner. The menu has a.lot of good options but I made my mind to eat the cassoulet and it was awesome! The red wine was Cabernet Sauvignon, very smooth, great Washington wine! The cassoulet was perfect! I highly recommend. Its a fine restaurant with great food!

Very good food, amazing service! Questioning ownership

By Votenochains |

So I know my last statement is confusing. It’s because the owner(s) feel they need to add a 5% service fee to pay the “under paid” non tipped employees. Well now that confusing? Is it because the owners need to keep the 200% up charge for a salad for themselves and can’t pay those employees out of that? I’m sure the 1/8 of the lettuce head didn’t cost more than .50 … ok glad to get that gripe out of the way. Now for the actual employees at the place who are AMAZiING! And the food excellent. Scollops cooked perfectly. Delightful cheeses and just the right chew to the bread. Excellent wine choices. Loved everything else’s. Totally go. Just realize the owners think gets ng 12 for a plate of lettuce isn’t enough for them to cover the cost 💲 f the wonderful person washing the dishes so they are passing that cost on to you..

Their COVID-19 Protocols misalign with refund policies

By Chris |

Following their suggested COVID-19 protocols, my wife and I were not feeling well and opted to cancel our reservations, but were not refunded at all (reservation included food & beverage). Management will not budge on their non-refundable clause - it's a shame this inconvenience must get passed on to its customers during such uncertain times.

Fantastic food but weird service

By Lalitya |

4 of us went to enjoy the tasting menu with wine paring. When the server came we ordered our pre-dinner martinis and we gave her our individual selections off the 3 course tasting menu. The server returned shortly with our cocktails as well as our first glass of wine and our first course. All of this was put on the table at the same time, a very small table that was probably intended for 2 people. We all raised an eyebrow at this but in the spirit of celebration we let it go. In no time the main course was there along with it's paired glass of wine. With an absurdly overcrowded table it was inevitable that something would be knocked over and when I reached for my wine I knocked a full glass of water over. We made the server aware of this but nothing was done other than she finally removed some of the empty dishes from the table. My lap and the table were soaking wet and no attempt was made to dry the table, change the linen, or offer me a towel for my wet lap. I took a serviette from another table to mop up the water on our table. Regardless of this we enjoyed ourselves and even ordered after dinner coffee drinks. The food was outstanding, every course delicious, but the service was rushed and frankly just weird. Our server had no sense of timing, everything was expedited at the same time and she was inattentive. I think the owner, or the floor manager, was there but he seemed focused only on getting patrons in and out as quickly as possible. We will not be returning.

Really gone downhill in five years!

By Cheryl M |

My husband and I were married in 2012. We honeymooned in Seattle. On our honeymoon, we went to Maximilien for happy hour. Five years ago, it was a great experience! We always wanted to return for dinner. Over 4th of July weekend, we did finally have dinner at Maximillien. Both my husband and I thought the quality of the food had gone down drastically in five years. While our server was very formal and polite in speech, his demeanor was that he didn't seem to enjoy his job. The bill was about $150 for two people, before tip. (We were there with another couple and divided the check. The total for four people was about $300, before tip) So, given the food wasn't that particularly good and the server had a bit of an attitude, I would say there are better dining deals in Seattle. Seattle has a lot of great eateries. One thing that was just a great as the first time we visited was the absolutely stunning view of Elliot Bay. That is timeless!

Great food. Great views. Bring your own great company!

By DebMC123 |

We sat out on the charming patio and looked out over the view -- wow. The food was delicious, the wait staff efficient, and you couldn't beat looking out at the ferris wheel, the boats, and Bainbridge Island. If you want to get away from the hustle & bustle of the market downstairs but stay at the waterfront, check out Maximillien.

Not completely a tourist trap

By digitalcake |

The onion soup was very good and the fresh fish dish of the day was good as well. The salad was large and fresh. The service was very high quality and the view is perfect for watching the bay.

Delicious scallops paired with wines and great views

By beachbummer75 |

Read a lot about this place and decided to come here for dinner It’s very quiet for dinner probably after the maker has closed for the day and it was also raining. Only few tables were occupied. I ordered scallops for main course, and sparkling wine. The scallops were in huge portions, cooked perfectly and paired with the vegetables. I would have loved to try their escargots, duck other dishes but I was too full. Will be back again.

Very nice place. Great service

By AZGT350 |

We just stopped in for a snack. Had escargot, French bread and some wine. Excellent and great service.

Great View + Terrible Service = NO GO

By WSeattleTraveler |

It had the potential of being a great brunch. Conveniently located in Pike Place Market, with a beautiful view of Elliott Bay and Puget Sound. Food was pretty good (but overpriced). That is all we have to say that was good. Now for the bad part... Our waitress was terrible. Not only was she rude, she was inattentive. She started by belligerently telling us we were not allowed to bring outside drinks (coffee) into the restaurant. Funny, but the host did not share this sentiment. She was very slow to wait on us and quite rude when doing so. She never checked on us after food was delivered - we had to ask for butter for our $8 croissants. Also, I never got a coffee refill. It took quite a while to get, and pay, our check. After, we waited too long to have our "outside drink" returned to us. When she did, she slammed it on the table and walked away. We will be happy not to return here. Suggest you look elsewhere also.

Delicious food, impeccable service

By jamward |

We had the most amazing experience here for our anniversary. Lynn made our night. Her service was impeccable and personable. Cannot wait to come back

Beautiful views when dining outside!

By ConnoisseurCharlotte |

We didn't expect this nice restaurant at all right in Pike Market but loved our quiet dinner outside with the great views. The service was impeccable, the food and drinks were delicious and perfect! It's not cheap, spent about $250 for dinner for Two!

Great View, Appetizer & Wine!!

By 2Klecks |

Great place! Recommended by a nearby restaurant that wasn't open just yet for the evening. It is right to the left and behind the fish market as you enter the Publlic Market. Their patio looks out over the water and there are lots of umbrellas for shade. It's relaxing, calm and the cheese plate appetizer was delicious (three cheeses, fig jam, marcona almonds, and slices of pear and apple). Their wine list is good too, and we would recommend!

Nothing to not like

By fenthor |

I have read mixed reviews. Our experience was great. Nothing to not like. I ate the duck, which can be iffy, it was very good. We had a view of Elliot bay at sunset. I liked our waiter.

Excellent view - food?

By BarryLizUk |

Inside Pike Market this restaurant has excellent views of the water if you manage to secure a window table. Having said that it is rather pretentious- old fashioned French music playing in the background doesn’t really add anything to the experience. Most disappointing was the fact that the chef was unable to prepare the most expensive dish on the menu satisfactorily. We were looking forward to the grilled halibut dish but unfortunately it was so over cooked and dry that we had to send it back and wait for a replacement. This was done speedily and without question but shouldn’t happen in a restaurant that aspires to be a fine dining venue. Other dishes (clam chowder and creme brûlée) were satisfactory but not outstanding.

Great Food, Wine, Beer & Location

By p00chys |

After touring Pike's Market, we stumbled on this restaurant overlooking the water. Although we didn't have a reservation, we were shortly seated in a lovely outdoor garden which overlooked the water. Service was excellent. Food was superb. Table were nicely situated.

food not bad, service..what service?

By januarie2009 |

our server that afternoon happened to be a super tall slim bald caucasian young male maybe in his mid to late 20s. he was evil, arrogant rude unfriendly and clearly detests his job. if you dare to ask him to repeat anything, listen for his tone change.. And if you dare to flag him down for whatever reason watch him unshamefully ignore you with tiny curls around his lips trying to fight back a smile. apparently intentionally igonoring an 80 yo woman who was attempting to get his attention gave him pleasure. grilled boeuf and raclatte burger, a normal size brioche burger bread/burger, and a small amount of hand cut frites on the side. tasted just like any other burgers except this one was $19. the $19 lunch special allowed 2 choices among selected items: the seafood chowder was served in a small soup bowl with a nice amount of arugula/greens, a decent amount of seafood and perfect seasoning. loved the chowder! Saumon sandwich, served with toasted bread, seared sockeye salmon and a small amount of “house greens” on the side. It’s a fairly small simple item so if you’re a big eater you may want to order something in addition to it. (veggie) quiche du jour with side of “house greens”, with mushroom sundried tomato onion. creamy and delicious but fairly small portion. penn cove mussels with fries or salad. served in a giant black pot. loved the sauce they were cooked in! salmon petite pois a la francaise, served in a large plate, came with a generous amount of seasonal veggies and potatoes. vegetarian couscous, serve in a large plate, fairly large portion of food, delicious creamy couscous (reminded me of a creamy polenta) and veggies. gateau au chocolat, flourless chocolate cake with roasted hazelnuts & coconuts, sweetened creme fraiche: looked great, good dessert portion, but too dense for me. profiteroles au chocolat, these tiny little round (delicious!) cream puffs (donut color) filled with olympic mountain vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce. A bit on the small portion size in my opinion. creme brulee, topped with a very thin layer of caramelized sugar. finally a place that would make the sugar super thin so you don’t feel guilty eating it! the creme brulee was very good!

Good French located at the market

By SilverSurfer5282 |

First time for us being in Seattle and trying French. Waiter very friendly and helpful. We had a nice view of the waterfront and Ferris Wheel.

Beautiful View, Pricey drinks

By llwid |

Located in the Pike public Market, there is a great view of the sound and. It’s charming, although a bit shabby. 2 drinks cost $36. We enjoyed it but the price of the drinks means we don’t recommend it.

Great food and view!

By Lila O |

We ate here on our first night in Seattle, and it was the perfect place to start our vacation. The food (duck) was fabulous, and the view of the Bay was spectacular! Service, also was very attentive.

Wonderful view, better food!

By Michael C |

Fabulous brunch on an early Sunday afternoon. Toured Seattle Aquarium in the morning with 3 couples and an infant. This restaurant overlooks the aquarium from right behind the fishmonger's show. But pay attention to the food. I had the pork steak and eggs. Sounds simply inelegant, right? Wrong, it was incredible. My wife's Salmon Eggs Benedict was also top-notch. Service was pleasant and timely. Was not crowded this spring afternoon.

Pricey but delicious genuine french cuisine at Pike Place Market

By SNB |

Arrived on time for our 1130am reservation on the last Saturday in June. Once doors opened at 11:30am, we were greeted at the front desk and promptly seated at a table next to the windows with a great view of the waterfront. Service was very good, delivered by an experienced server from Paris. Seared foie gras frais was served hot and was tasty. The escargot in butter sauce were quite tasty without too much garlic. Fletan (Halibut) a la Francaise was also tender and quite delicious. Also ordered the Confit de Canard which was well cooked and tasty. French baguette was good but unfortunately unsalted butter was not offered. For desert, really enjoyed the basque style burnt-cheesecake. Overall, we were quite satisfied with our lunch at Maximiilen but be prepared because it is quite pricey.

Best Christmas Eve Lunch

By Darlene D |

Chose Maximilien's because of the view and that we all love French cooking. Ended up being glad that Christmas Eve dinner was already booked, because going for a late lunch afforded us a beautiful, sunny (!!! That was a Seattle December shocker) view of the bay and no hurry to clear the table. We went all in...seafood chowder, appetizers, main plates, desserts, cocktails, coffee. All fantastic and beautifully presented. I had the salmon w/petit pois and it was magical. My friends had the duck confit and those potatoes -- my goodness, I'll never taste potatoes that good again, ever! Service was fantastic -- even encouraging us to stay when the place cleared and they were setting up for dinner. Thanks for a wonderful special holiday experience!

Lite snack with a great view

By WanderingOttersons |

We typically ask to be seated outside and got a great small table on the railing out on the deck upstairs. It had a great view of the harbor. We did just stop here for a snack and not partake of the full menu so it's hard to say what the rest of the food is like as we had some basics only. We just had a cheese plate and french baguette. The cheese was fresh and there was a varied selection. Good quality cheese as you would expect. Nothing spectacular but again - basic. We did add the creme brulee as well. It is one of our favorite desserts in general and French place seems like a good choice to get some. Good choice indeed. Excellent creme brulee. Our server was a little odd. He went back and forth between English and trying to "announce" the dishes and menu items in a horrible French accent. Weird. The value? Not good. some bread and a cheese plate, one dessert and 2 glasses of wine ended up just shy of $80 with tip. Ouch.

Great Place to eat

By Susiegrx |

I ordered the flat iron steak with French fries. It was so good. The steak was so juicy and tender and I think the French fries were the best I have ever had.

Sat down at Classic Bar , Stayed for Memorable French Meal

By Rodolfo E |

After shopping in Pike’s Place Market and waiting for our son to finget off work, we searched for and found a quaint restaurant with a small bar with a waterfront view ( of the Seattle Great Wheel). Ordered an appetizer of warmed goat / brie cheese with walnuts , honey and arugula served with a freshly baked baguette. Kyle the bartender made of exquisite drinks with great compassion and flair . For my old fashion , we muddled a bourbon soaked cheery with the orange pulp. My wife was treated to her best ever lemon drop martini which carried some cointreau . As time passed by we noticed professionals having drinks then ordering there meals whose aromas waifed over to our increasing appetites. Kyle kept explaining what was being ordered and gingerly suggested that we ask our son to consider having a nice French meal with a great view. Sold! Timing was perfect as a window table became available. Before we left the bar Kyle let us sample a 2014 Chateauneuf du Pape ( Joseph Castan). This Rhone Valley Red was out of sight and we had our first of two bottles ,waiting at the table , as Kyle became our Server as well. I have to admit I’m a. southern hemispheric wine ( think Argentina, Australia, Chile, New Zealand and South Africa) snob and have ordered at least Spanish wines at French Restaurants. However this Pape reminded me of Caceres Region Grenache. Kyle said good nose for this wine was 70% Grenache but north of the Pyrenees. Since there were three of us, we wanted to try out a typical ( at least for us) selection of French Cuisine. So we went with Coquilles Saint Jacques( Sea Scallops), Canard Au Poivre Verf ( duo of duck magnet and leg confit) and Tournedo De Boeuf. Since there appeared a piping hot freshly baked baguette at the table, we just had to add some escargots so we could soak up garlic, lemon, parsley butter . Excellent!!! Finally got to the main course and turned out to be over the top for an already extraordinary evening. The three scallops were perfectly seared in brown butter that formed a perfect union with the berre blanc. The accompanying veggies of yukon gold purèe, carrots , mushrooms and asparagus provided unique interactions with the sauce. The Duck came with similar vegetables but with a light cream sauce. However, the Duck, especially the breast ( magret) was a great balance of moist meat with a slightly crispy skin. You got the great taste of the fat without the uncomfortable texture that you could find in the hands of impatient chefs. The Tourenedo came out perfectly medium rare with the Bordelaise sauce still simmering and filling my nostrils and heart with great anticipation. Wow! The tenderloin was so tender that I barely had to use a knife. It was 3/4 inch thick and could of passed for filet mignon. Another neat savory addition was the roasted bone marrow that mixed with the sauce and meat juices to “ glaze” my frites. There was additional scent and Kyle mentioned could have been the truffle salt. Fantastic!

Very good food and views

By Ms_R33480 |

We went there twice once before and once after our cruise. The food is very good, and the views of the water are very nice but don't plan on a romantic evening because the tables are very close together. The service was good and bad, the first time we had a very good waiter, the second time not so much.

Tasty-millien

By Ruslman |

This place had a friendly staff, good food and great views of Elliot Bay. Although the menu was limited, they had the best French onion soup, that was both flavorful and filling. The have outdoor seating and they are close to the Market, so if you have a afternoon to spend some time taking in a good meal and the market, this is a great place to start.

Wonderful surprise in Pike Place Market

By Sujata410 |

This place is tucked away in busy Pike Place. Gorgeous views if you get to sit outside on a sunny day. Stopped off for lunch and enjoyed mussels and steak/frites (both spot on and delicious). Service was smooth and efficient.

Disappointed

By Karl M |

We have been to this restaurant and had a nice dinner in the past but were quite disappointed with the meal we had recently. My wife and I both had the Cornish hen and while nicely presented with tasty side dishes, the hen itself was unpleasantly over salted, which in my opinion, is easy enough to avoid that it shouldn't happen - especially in a restaurant of this quality. On a more positive note, my onion soup was very good and my wife enjoyed her salad with warm goat cheese - tho we both felt the salad was overpriced. The menu was also very limited.

A Perfect Evening in Seattle

By Pat O |

Fabulous , Fabulous! Dinner was spectacular, the service was outstanding, the venue was perfect on the outside deck area with views of Elliot Bay. Went with two other couples and all agreed…… a perfect evening, well spent, in Seattle. Pat from Boston

A great place to eat and drink

By Paul Vockenhuber |

A very great place to sit at the terrace, drink excellent wine and beer and eat a very good meal, seafood and other choices. Very friendly staff and a great view over the harbor, especially at sundown.

Great food and great view!

By Maureen K |

Maximilien at Pike's Market had delicious food and a beautiful view of the harbour in Seattle. We went for dinner and although we did not stay until sunset, the colors in the sky were gorgeous! My husband loved the foie gras! For entrees, he chose the Duo De Canard Au Poivre Vert and I chose the Tournedo De Boeuf Bordelaise and we both loved our meals!

Greeted with a fabulous view!

By VacationerSeattle |

Special birthday lunch, everything was excellent. I called ahead to have champagne and glasses on the table, and they were waiting. The view is spectacular. We thought the prices were fair, our sandwich was definitely big enough to share. Only $15, with tons of frites. We spent a fair amount of time for lunch, about 2 hours. Drank good wine and savored our lunch, never felt rushed. The only drawback ( and could have been our fault) is that they did not want to split the bill, but they did, and it just seemed awkward. KInd of put a bit of a bad spin on the finish of our fun time together. I am out with friends for meals all the time, and there is never a hesitation about splitting a bill.

Bite to eat

By shelloster |

Business trip and we needed to find a spot to grab a bite to eat and a glass of wine. Just 4 ladies enjoying the nice view, ocean, Ferris wheel! Good food, we had apps, good wine and good service.

Fantastic!

Very authentic French cafe experience. Most of the staff speaks French. Beautiful view of the sound and great outdoor seating. Oh....and the food is AMAZING!!

Great place for a farewell Seatle dinner

By Larry J |

Well prepared, presented, and served dishes with a wonderful view of the harbor. Duck duo was delicious. The restaurant is on the second floor in the Pile's Place Market overlooking the harbor with terrace dining available. The evening we were there the weather was perfect for the terrace. Wonderful.

UNFAIR ADDED TAX!

By chrisDTW |

UNFAIR RESTAURANT IMPOSED TAX! DISTURBING to see that your restaurant has added another tax onto customers bill. I always pay 20-25% tip, but you are forcing me to pay 15% tip. SERVICE CHARGE is the tip expected by the SERVERS, for their service. The restaurant already makes money off of some food but mostly alcohol sales. Squeezing more money from customers is rude and a disservice to your employees. 🤬🤬🤬

Never dined

By Jane N |

My husband inadvertently made our dinner reservations for the wrong day. When trying to correct the mistake, he realized that the restaurant had already charged our credit card $70 for a dinner we never attended. This occurred in less than a 12-hour timeframe. I work in the hospitality industry, and while my company requires a credit card on file for reservations, we do not charge that card at will if the guests fail to show for their reservation. There are enough guests that will happily take the spot of the no show. We were going to dine here for our anniversary but now will choose another more hospitable location. Shame on you Maximilien for being a money grubbing, unforgiving restaurant.

Meal with a view

By Bernardo D |

This restaurant was a good surprise. We were hungry and wandering around the market and found this hidden place and what a nice surprise! Great food, great wine and all of this with a view. To add, their lunch menu has some special prices which only made our visit better. I recommend the Soup de Oignon.

The food was fabulous; the view wonderful. Our waitress was attentive. The lemon drops were great. We enjoyed meeting friends after shopping at Pike Place Market.

Classy venue within Pike Place

By ViaggiatoreGoloso |

We stayed at this place for lunch with colleagues. Classy French restaurant with beautiful ocean views. Restaurant, by the way, reserved everything for us even if we were made to eat in the mezzanine in an already isolated area and therefore could have safely served other tables on the ground floor. Although there was only us the Service turned out to be a unique slowness and unacceptable when a colleague asked to change the order they had asked us to do in advance. I took the salmon and for my taste it was too dry. The best part was the potato pie. There was nothing that particularly impressed me.

Delicious

By Renee L |

We had the pate, cheese plate and French onion soup with comtè cheese. Delicious. Great wait staff that doesn't hover. All over looks the great wheel and an outdoor garden. Highly recommended.

The worst place ever

By Caio |

I’ve been there for lunch on a Saturday. The waiter was terrible. Food was ok. And the price was too high for the overall service delivered. I’d never come back.

Disappointing experience

By MaL |

First night in Seattle, decided to treat ourselves. Ordered our food, the waiter returned to tell us that there were no fries to go with our steaks, but we could have mashed potatoes. When we asked how you can make mash ,but not fries, he told us the chef had cleaned the fryer for the night! When the food came up ( 5 minutes later ) it was Luke warm and barely edible. It had clearly been warmed up and not cooked freshly We were then rushed to finish and leave. The final insult was the extortionate prices. Very disappointing not the experience we were hoping for.

Very good but pricey

By AK8397 |

This restaurant has a great location -- tucked away in the Pike Place market with a terrific view of the Seattle waterfront. It is a nice place to escape the bustle of the market, and to have a delicious meal in a peaceful, scenic spot. The food was very good. In our group, we had scallops, salmon, steak and salads. Everyone thought their meals were tasty. And the bread was served warm and fresh. But beware: this restaurant is quite expensive. It is not a place to just pop in for a quick and cheap meal. Be prepared to pay.

View of Puget Sound

By Joan H |

This restaurant was on my list of restaurants to try on our week's vacation in Seattle. We had no trouble finding it on our visit to Pike Place Market. The seating hostess wasn't too welcoming. In fact, I think that she wished that we would go away. Hoping it would be a little breezy outside, we choose to sit in their outdoor dining patio under the shade of an umbrella. We had a view of Puget Sound but felt no breeze on a record-breaking hot day in Seattle. The waiter took our orders promptly. My husband loved his flat iron steak, salad, and fries. My Alaskan halibut was delicious, but I really didn't like nearly uncooked and tough to chew broccolini. My choice didn't come with rice or potatoes which would have been nice. The bread and butter was very good.

Your Service May Vary

By LaChatNoir |

Had high hopes for this well reviewed restaurant. However, we were immediately greeted by a rather snotty man. For clarification when they say the casual bar menu is available in the “bar and lounge” until close, what they actually mean (apparently?) is sitting AT the bar. We were planning to snag a table in the lounge and ordering from the bar menu, but the snotty guy informed us our only option was sitting at the bar (mind you, the restaurant was nearly empty). So we said we’d be seated at a restaurant table, might as well sit outside. As he led us to the table, I asked if the bar menu was only available if seated at the bar and he huffed and rolled his eyes and told me he would bring me one. So ... that’s what we ordered from! Our server was much more cordial than the grumpy gus whom we first encountered. I was interested in the mussels but advised they “take a long time” so I ordered something else. My husband’s tarte was the star, though. We did end on a high note, splitting the flourless chocolate cake. And it was a nice ambiance with a view of the water. The patio is surrounded by galvanize steel planters brimming with wildflowers. Even ordering off the bar menu (two entrees, two starters, four drinks, split one dessert) our bill topped out at $150 before tip.

Disappointing service

By Kristie Q |

Server didn't bother asking for drinks, provided slow service, stacked dirty dishes on the table, and sent out dessert the same time as my entree. The food was only ok so I have no plans to try this place again.

Maximilien - French Cuisine delight

By Khristi L |

Maximilien Located in the Pike Place Public Market right behind the famous fish throwing corner in the alley. Always a clust of pople meandering through there but a big enough red, neon sign you can't miss sit. Maxmilien is french cuisine. Inside it has a tiny 6- seater bar and bistro tables by the window for a beautiful view but their patio is double the size of the inside and getting that gorgeous Seattle summer breeze over looking the ferries, ferris wheel, and the madess of the piers is absolutely perfect. Mixed with an amazing meal, this is quite the impressive spot. When you're staring at the menu and can't decide, ask your server. Our server was knowledgable, professional and assited along the way. As you've read in pervious reviews i abosutely adore rose' not too sweet or light, is the gateway to my heart. So during lunch, I had 2 glasses. haha I started off with some of the BEST escargot ever. I know, I know they are snails but man alive they were phenomenal with all of that garlic and butter and french baguette to slop up that juice...Yummmmmm! My guest chose a very easy to-go-to entree, steak and frites. If a restaurant of this calibur can't do this right, we are in trouble. For my main lunch course I had steamed mussles. There are 3 styles of mussles. 1. Moules Marinieres = tradiction with butter, white wine, shallots, garlic parsley. 2. Moules Maximilien = pernod, carmelized onion puree', wine and cream. 3. Moules Provencal = butter, white wine, tomatoes and bacon. How do you choose?? I went with #2. Absolute perfection. The amount of succulent deliciousness was superb. Superceeded my expectations. I think about them often ;;))) Although I'd consider this place a romantic date spot, I'd definitely go back by myself. Me, rose', Moules Maximilien....done and done!!

Really Fabulous Food

By CharlietheBlueJay |

First the views from this restaurant are wonderful. I had the best seafood chowder I ever have had in the world and would go back just to have this soup again. My partner had the esgargot and quite enjoyed it. We shared a steak that melted in our mouths. Dessert was pastry filled with ice cream cannot remember what it was called but very very good. The service excellent and the selection of wines good.

One of my favorite restaurants in Seattle

Great French food, excellent service and a wonderful view. We always try to eat there when in town. They have never disappointed.

Hard to find but worth it

By Murphy |

Stumbled upon this place while wandering around pikes place market, all of a sudden we were on a little roof terrace looking at diners just chilling out but we were on the other side of a little hedge with no visible way into the restaurant, we spotted a table for two right against the wall with a great view of the see and harbour and looked around until we found the entrance where we asked for an outside table for two and guess what, we were shown to,that little table against the wall with the harbour view. Our waiter was the worst waiter ever as after taking our drinks order he just disappeared for ages, then after eventually bringing our drinks he apologised for how long it took to bring the drinks and then disappeared again for another age before bringing our starters but it didn't seem to mater as the ambiance of this place was truly magical and we were just mesmerising with the view over the bay and the harbour and the big wheel. After what seemed like a couple of weeks our waiter served our main course and what a delight it was and the sloppy service just didn't matter and it turned out this waiter was genuinely a really nice guy just having an off day ( which we all have ) . If your in the area try this place, I couldn't recommend it highly enough 🙂

Beautiful restaurant with amazing views

By paul humberston |

Myself & my partner had a lovely meal with my Daughter who lives in Seattle, we were visiting from England. I have to say how much we enjoyed our time in the restaurant Our waitress was lovely & very attentive, the food was delicious ( being from the UK we were amazing how big the portions are 😃), the restaurant has a fabulous view of Eliot Bay & the Cascade Mountains in the distance so all I can say is Thankyou guys for making us feel so welcome 🙂

Romance

The food, the ambience, the location, all terrific. We had the Filet braised with Foie Grass, divine! The restaurant is small so very nice quiet ambience. Fantastic service. We will be back. Absolutely love this place. Pricing for downtown is not bad either.

Classic French cuisine, incomparable views

By jtfman |

Another fabulous evening at Maximilien! Hard to do better in Seattle, especially if you like Puget Sound views and expertly prepared French cuisine. Ask to be seated upstairs if possible, the views are amazing. We were seated promptly and our server came right away to take drink orders and review the specials for the evening. Drinks came out quickly and hit the spot. Appetizers were great, especially the foie gras and the escargot. It was hard to choose a main dish, as many well-known French classics are on the menu, all made with fresh local ingredients. I had the monkfish special, and my dining companions enjoyed their steak frittes. We love coming here, and look forward to the next time!

Wonderful food

By Michael C |

We stopped for lunch after fighting the crowds at Pike Market. We sat outside with a nice view of the harbor. We had their lunch meal of a grilled salmon sandwich. It was delicious. One of the salmon sandwiches I ever eaten. It had a good sized piece of fish and toppings complemented the fish. The meal included desert and we had the crepe brûlée. It was also wonderful. Might seem a little pricey but it was a great meal.

Great restaurant in the busy market area. Attentive and friendly services. Well portioned dishes. Great prices. Beautiful view.

Birthday Dinner mixed feelings

By MGreene16 |

I made reservations here well ahead of time, noting on the reservation that it was a birthday dinner and hoping for a celebratory experience. What we got was a tourist experience with no acknowledgement of my birthday until we mentioned it to the waitress, and even then got nothing but a "Happy Birthday". So that was somewhat disappointing. The venue itself was very nice; we sat indoors with a great view of Puget Sound and the ferris wheel. So we were quite happy with the ambience. The service started a bit slow, then got very prompt - too prompt, in fact. We had no sooner gotten our cocktails then the appetizers were delivered. and the moment the appetizer plates were picked up then the entrees were delivered. After that service slowed too much and we had a very long wait for desserts. Food varied from excellent to decent but for the price should have been uniformly excellent. My foie gras appetizer was great. Son ordered his steak medium but it showed up on the rare side of MR. They redid it and he said it was perfect. I got the Grand Marnier souffle and it was good but cried out for a creme anglaise. Also it did not really have the very airy puff that immediately settles as one would expect from a freshly baked souffle. So we do not regret coming here and I did enjoy my birthday meal, but for the price it is unlikely we will return.

Magnifique

By Steve |

I don't usually write reviews, but Maximilien is worthy of praise. We came for our 55th Anniversary. Not only were the reviews accurate, but our guide (Chef John's Tasty Tours) to Pike Place also recommended it before he knew we had reservations. Everything was done to perfection. The food (French) was magnifique! Service was outstanding. The wine was perfect and so was the view. This is a very small place... much like the restaurants in France. It was a perfect celebration. Go!

Expensive way to get food poisoning

By Alex O |

Pros: nice waitstaff, beautiful Pike Place location overlooking the waterway, good ambiance, nice wines. Cons: about 2.5 hours after eating the duck with orange glaze, I became brutally ill and couldn't keep anything down for the next 4 hours. We had to pull over to the side of the road driving home TWICE so I could puke my guts out. We were able to narrow it down to that dish because: 1. of when I started feeling nauseous relative to when we ate, and 2. myself and my partner had eaten/drank the same things all day that day, EXCEPT for when we ordered different meals here. Bad experience, wouldn't wish that on anyone.

What a Special Special

By rogersober |

The Beef Tenderloin with a side of bone marrow, mashed potatoes, carrots, green beans, gravy and onions was fantastic. The bread, butter and great service made all great with a view to match.

Great location & service with fantastic food!

By AMT |

Fantastic food and amazing views —our service was excellent as well. Highly recommend the lamb! Everything tasted great and we also enjoyed the house wine.

Good Choice

By Brett C |

Everything is great at this venerable restaurant. Our large group size enabled sampling of most of the items on the menu. The service was impeccable under challenging circumstances, performed with aplomb. The menu is a little limited, but there will be a few items to suit everyone's needs, and the ingredients are fresh and tasty. The wine list is not extensive, but complete. We had the Maximilien Red from France....quite nice. Polished but casual.

A marvelous brunch before watching the Seattle Sounders with the MLS Championship

By learyjj |

It was a pretty clear day, so our view from our table showed all of Eliot Bay plus the Ferris wheel. We started with Bloody Mary's that arrived at the table almost before we could ask for them and then moved on to mimosas to go with perhaps the best croissants and butter from Brittany and then our meal of French Onion Soup, a nice salad and delicious pate. The wait staff was superb as always and when we finished and walked out into Pike Place Market it was a sea of fans wearing green and headed to the match. :-)

Great Place for a Private Event

By 643patricial |

The upper room is perfect for a small (we had ~20 people) private event. There is a charming bar, nice bathrooms, and then a separate private room with a sweeping view of the Puget Sound. There are windows with fresh air coming through. The service was excellent. The food was tasty. The wine selection was good. The price was reasonable. All around a good place for a private event. Especially if you have out of town guests, it is fun to have them come to the Pike Place Market.

Nice French Place

By Elizabeth K |

We stopped at this restaurant for lunch while touring Pikes Market. It is very French with to the point waiters and prompt but a bit chippy service. Think of it as a real Paris cafe. The food is very good. We had mussels two different ways and each got a pound of delicious shellfish. With the side salad and french bread to scoop up the mussel broth, there is little need to eat for the rest of the day. We lunched on the covered porch viewing the bay. A very nice place to eat. The restaurant was full the entire time we ate with a line of customers when we left.

Le Igloo Dining

By redhead_roaming |

We came here to dine in Le Igloo. While they have several options on their tasting menus, they say they cannot adjust anything (if you have allergies and such). My husband is allergic to dairy and when we were looking to book, the only tasting menu that had a dairy-free option was during the week-long mussels tasting menu. It was also the cheapest option but it still was over $80 for two of us. I kinda want to dock a star for their lack of allergy-friendly foods but it is a French restaurant after-all. When we arrived for our dinner, we were greeted by a French-speaking gentleman. My husband speaks French and so they conversed about our reservation & such. We were shown our igloo outside and it was fairly cozy & comfortable. I would say half-way through our dinner, we ended up putting our jackets back on but overall, it wasn't all that bad. Our waitress was wonderful. She was very personable and helpful. She made sure that my husband's salad didn't have cheese on it and was fairly quick at getting us drinks & bread. When you make the reservation, you pay for the dinner so unless you want additional desserts or drinks while at the restaurant, you don't get a bill. You have 90 minutes to eat and that seemed like plenty of time. They have a special light that turns another color when you have 15 minutes until your reservation is up.

French Food with a View!

By Jan206 |

This long-time tenant in the Pike Place Market serves tasty French-themed food, both inside and out on a small patio. During our latest visit, we both loved our mussel dishes--one with a tomato infused sauce, the other with a wine/garlic base. Each came with a choice of frites or salad--and we took the fries which came with a dipping sauce. We also ordered the French bread to sop up the mussel sauce. I watched other diners enjoy huge hamburgers, a grilled cheese sandwich topped with fried eggs and escargot. We loved sitting under a green umbrella on the patio and checking out the demolition of the Alaskan Way Viaduct. This is not an inexpensive lunch spot, but the mussel portions were ample and the space is away from the bustle of the Market, so worth a splurge.

Very pleasant brunch!

By Slauce |

Maximilian offers a welcome respite from the bustling Pike Place Market. We sat outside in the courtyard and had a very enjoyable brunch with a splendid view of the waterfront. Service was crisp and efficient, and the food was tasty, though the menu selections for brunch were limited.

Classy and delicious

By Hsteinmiller |

Lovely French restaurant, great views, delicious food. I had the lamb chops on a bed of greens and my husband had the Chilean sea bass over greens and mushrooms. We both cleaned our plates - so, so yummy. My husband had the cheesecake for dessert and devoured every bite. Service is friendly and attentive. A very nice place for a special meal.

Great views, great service

The four of us enjoyed a well-paced meal before a jazz concert. Attentive service but never hovering; wines were excellent as were the entrées. Sunsets over the harbor are just superb.

Great food, beautiful view and wonderful service!

By HBRay |

My sister and I spent a lovely evening enjoying dinner at Maximilien last Thursday. The lamb was cooked to perfection and the duck confit was great. We had a beautiful view and our server was so friendly, yet professional. If you decide to have the profiteroles, be sure to share them, the serving was huge (but delicious!)

Classic French cuisine in the Market

By Mark K |

We were lucky enough to meet Jean-Paul Kissel who actually built the bar in Maxmilien’s back in 1978 when the building was part of the Farmers Market rebirth. The restaurant has been a major attraction at Pike Market ever since. The French cuisine is superb and filled with classic dishes!

Excellent French restaurant

By Robert S |

Maximilien is a great special occasion restaurant. Our daughter took us there for our anniversary and we had a wonderful meal. It was during the pandemic, and we ate on the terrace, in clear plastic bubbles. It was great fun. There is a great view of the waterfront, the Ferris wheel, the Ferries coming & going. The service is very professional. This is a fine dining French restaurant. We really enjoyed the food and the staff. Highly recommended!

Wonder food and great view

By Mike G |

We came here after a bad experience at another restaurant and it was later in the evening around 6:30pm - the service was fantastic and the food was also good. I had the Steak and my wife at the mussels - both were fantastic. The Waiter and service was very good.

Another great time in our pretend "Paris"

By Frederick C |

Excellent service, affordable wine, and an excellent lunch. They have a great view of the seattle waterfront. We have eschewed going to seattle much anymore because of their socialist makeup and terrible parking. We used to go at least twice a month in past years. Now we refuse to support their loon-bat city council, but a lunch at Maximilien is worth the trip.

Delightful

By Dot478 |

Beautiful view. Excellent food. Courteous staff. Four of us had an early dinner here. Two local (Tacoma); two out of town. We had cocktails and the food was perfectly prepared. Two of us had mussels- highly recommend. Others had steak and seafood. Everything was perfect. Highly recommend.

March in Seattle

By SKOKRO |

Really nice quiet place to the back/below Pikes Place. Small with French themed menu. Plus pretty good oysters but limited selection. What we really stopped by was for the Bloody Marys-perfect for just relaxing -looking at the sound and enjoying a break from all the Pikes noise.

Awesome View & Oysters

By Chowin_n_Carousin |

Stopped for lunch and had a great time. Can't beat the view, the service, and the food. Repeat visit. We love the patio and the vibe. Oysters and beer. Very simple but of so good! One of my favorites in Seattle.

Outstanding mussels and wine; cozy atmosphere; beautiful views

By seattlefoodlover2016 |

This fine French restaurant in the Pike Place Market is not to be missed. I enjoyed a great bucket of fresh mussels and salad with a lovely pinot grigio to accompany them. I managed to ooh and ahh over almost every bite. Even the simple fresh green salad was delicious - freshest greens I have had in a long time. The restaurant is small and has just a few tables on the main floor (there are others outside on the deck and upstairs) and felt very cozy. Excellent service by the wait staff. I hope to return often.

Small, Cozy French Restaurant in Pikes Market

By Denver7889 |

Small cozy restaurant tucked in a corner of Pikes Market. Beautiful view of the Seattle waterfront with nicely set tables and a very attentive staff. Lunch was escargot, which came with a delightful amount of garlic butter and went well with the half baguette that we had ordered. This was followed by a bowl of onion soup for one of us and the cassoulet for the other. The soup was rich and tasted great. The cassoulet was amazing. It was full of veal and sausage and a duck leg. This was a real treat as well. First time there, but won’t be the last. They have a very interesting dinner menu as well.

Great Brunch!

Croissants were superb- best I’ve had outside of Paris! Mussels were perfectly prepared. Quiet place with great views.

Perfection

By TT442 |

I find it rare these days to find such a well organized , and classy restaurant that doesn't come with a hefty price tag. Props to management for getting their hands dirty and bussing tables and processing payment. Service was friendly and charming without being in your face. It was quick but still felt very laid back. Can't beat the view either.Food arrived within 15 min of ordering. Loved the seasoning for the fries, and the Raclette burger is one of the best burgers I have ever had.

With eyes wide shut

By 604wernerc |

Searching for an evening, style French cuisine, we chose this restaurant without further questioning. It turned out to be a great succès! Great service, discrete waiter (a Frenchman: he knows what stylish means) and delicious food were in place. A beautiful view over the bay seems to be there too, but at 20h00 early March it’s pretty dark outside. That’s when our eyes were shut, but I can tell you they were wide open when the dishes were served or “dégustés”.

helas, used to be a great restaurant.

By bea h |

Sadly disappointed and aghast at rudeness of main Mgr person in blue denim clothes.. Waiter was outstanding though. Food not so great. Doz oysters,4 of which reassembled those that had been dropped in schucking and put intl shells again. The waiter replaced 2. Nicoise salad: tuna was dry, partially frozen, limp salad and green beans, rubbery eggs....blah! Halibut was dry, flavorless.

We had a fab meal with fab service but read the Rules on no-shows before you book. It's crystal clear.

By Jacko'sWife |

We had a wonderful dinner here. View was stunning we watched the sunset from our table. Waiter was very attentive and while very professional was fun. The food was served hot and was delicious. Small indoor section but has a beautiful patio also.

Rough times...

By BBlkburn |

I almost hate doing any reviews during this time with COVID and restrictions. We found our food and the service average at best They have a hands free menu, but when we asked for a paper menu due as it is easier to read for one of us, they were irritated but they were working to keep things clean... Tough times, maybe wait a bit?

Loved this hidden gem

By purcellfamily |

We are a couple in early sixties travelling. We found this restaurant hidden in the public market. The entrance is very underwelming - you would never know such a nice place existed inside. We sat on the outside terrace in the sunshine and were served by an excellent waiter which knew what he was doing. It was only lunch so we kept it simple. - glass of champagne each, oysters etc etc. A real treat. One of the best restaurants we found on our holiday.

Disappointing menu for a French cafe

By Steve R |

Called in whilst visiting pike place market. I soon realised why it was quiet in there. It's a French cafe style eatery with a limited lunch menu. NB it's not the menu that's listed here on TripAdvisor. Such a disappointing choice available that I left, there are hundreds of places to choose from in the area so my tip would be to walk on by this one

Amazing!!!!

By C. Landa V. |

We went here for lunch and were very lucky to enter because this is a very popular place. It’s a little cozy restaurant with a beautiful view of the water. The service was really nice. They all very very helpful and nice. Our table had a beautiful view. The menu is delicious. I ordered the hamburger with fois gras and it was an absolute delicacy. I loved it. It was acompanied by delicious fries. Our drinks were amazing. I had a wonderful Negroni and then ordered a red wine from France that was delicious. Desserts were amazing. I had the profiteroles with vanilla ice cream and they an absolute delicacy. I think this place is a great place to go if you are ever in Seattle.

Great view but extremely disappointing food.

By Carolyn B |

This was a much needed date night. The atmosphere was really beautiful with striking views overlooking the Ferris wheel & water. Weirdly, the playlist was on the verge of sending us into a depression. I love French music but it was leading us into a dark vortex with over- impassioned artists. I almost asked to see if they could make a playlist change. It actually felt awkward in the room. The food was the most disappointing feature of all. I love nicoise salads and was looking forward to this entree. First, the potatoes were al dente. (green beans and pasta should be kept al dente - not potatoes). The seared tuna was dry, overcooked and tough. I should have sent it back but didn't want to make our date night even more dreary. How can you mess up a tried and true French salad? The bill came to $200 (we had 4 drinks) and I made a decision not to ever return. Just too disappointing. Bye bye Max.

My wife and I had dinner at Maximilien on Bastille Day! They had a special menu and very reasonable prices for the event. Balloons, French flags, and an accordion completed the ambience as we ate on the patio with a view of the sound and the Olympic range. The pate was very good, as was the steak and frites special for the holiday. The real treat here, however, is the spectacular view and the location in the market. Well worth a visit if you are in Seattle and enjoy French food!

Nice view and good food

By Amed D |

I liked the view in the restaurant looking across water and islands makes one feel good. The food was very good and service was excellent. However like many things in Seattle, it is expensive.

Best meal I have had in a long time!

By krisyoung16 |

We(my mom and my children) happened upon this lovely little place and we were starved. I would recommend maybe leaving the kids at home next time but we were fresh off a cruise and looking for somewhere to sit and get out of the crazy marketplace crowd. This was such a nice treat! The view was so beautiful(the sun was out) and the small room was cozy. The food!!! I had the seafood chowder for lunch and it was Devine. The fresh bread was so good with it. My mom ordered a cheese plate and salad. All of it was delicious especially the fig jam! My kids had the biggest hamburgers I have ever seen and the quality of the meat was so good. One of my children got a steak and again the quality of the meat was top notch. If we are ever back in Seattle we will be stopping here again! It is expensive! So go with people that can appreciate delicious food at a bigger cost!

Delicious food with a view

My husband and I enjoyed dinner outside at Maximilien after spending the day at the waterfront in Seattle. The view was wonderful and so was the food. I had the scallops and my husband enjoyed the steak. Our waiter offered great service, attentive but not intrusive. Don’t forget to try the salted butter - to die for!

Chez Fantastic

A great french bistro located in the heart of the market with great seaside views and appeal. It's a very friendly and cozy place. The menu is varied but all of our selections were excellent! good choice for lunch or dinner.

Unfortunately Disappointing

By Vickie M |

We chose this based on reviews and location for a post-wedding immediate family dinner. We are a well-travelled, food-sophisticated family. To start with the good news, the view and service were superb. The evening was warm and the patio afforded a spectacular sunset with views of Bainbridge and other ferries and mountains in the background. But the cheap plastic lawn chairs were a bit of a shocker. Now to the food. Three orders of halibut, all over-cooked to the point that it wasn’t clear it was even halibut. Three orders of tenderloin ordered medium rare that came out medium-well. The two scallop dinners (coquilles Saint Jacques) were quite good. Again, the service was excellent. Our waiter handled everything precisely including eight very particular cocktail orders flawlessly. But the food gets barely a passing grade.

MAX...A MILLION...VIEW and MUSCLES!

By JIM7736 |

We have loved this arena for years! Just recently went back and found their outdoor terrace has expanded with a comfortable cool vibe, and community garden that abuts the restaurants' space! The view of Puget Sound amidst quality food is still one of our favorites. Fresh with a good choice of quality wines, salads, seafood...of course! And the bread; that detail that may be missed by some restaurants for the quality..is not, here! However, we do miss the days when it was served generously and free! Times, economics have changed...yet the Charm and Character of the Place still is Our Pike Place Market Favorite in Seattle! It is worth the parking, the steps amidst the crowds and a refresher amidst 'the tourist' hubbub outside the doors! A place for quiet conversation, and a view; a meal or just a glass of wine, a real longterm Gem of Seattle!

Lovely setting in Pike Place Market

By Skibum6969 |

What a gem, tucked away down an alleyway in Pike Place Market. The inside was lovely and cosy, but we were lucky to have a sunny evening so got to sit outside overlooking the Sound. Food and service were both excellent, food was very French.

A bit of Paris in Seattle

By Upeaster |

We were doing the tourist thing visiting the Pike Place market and saw Maximilian’s in the corner after the place they throw fish. The dinner hour was just approaching and there was no line yet with delightful indoor seating available but since it was summer we decided to go outdoors where it was a bit more casual with great views of the sound and Mt Olympia in the distance. The wine list is completely French and perfectly selected for typicity at prices that invite you to explore. We selected the LaPorte Sancerre at just under $50. And all of our travel stress dissolved with our first sip and then with our first taste of the local seafood chowder and Point Reyes Bleu cheese salad. Food was perfectly balanced so we kept going and had the housemade country pate’ with fresh baguette mustards cornichons and pickled veggies which threw us over the edge. Next got the Scallops St Jacques which were sublime . We had some kind of sweet cream filled soufflé with a hint of Grande Marnier that was perfect with a split of Sauternes to finish things off. We had next to no expectations going in , and we’re pleased beyond description with the whole experience. It has an old world ambiance through a sort of benign neglect this is not some formula latest hit algorithm place which made it even more special given its location in the tourist magnet part of Seattle. I don’t want to forget to mention that the service was superb, with a waitress who knew the menu inside and out.

Good restaurant

We had just arrived from Paris and came across this French restaurant without reservation. We were installed on the terrace with a beautiful view. The dishes were decent and the service professional. As for the prices a little high but we are in the USA.

Average selection at a higher than average price

By Ronald M |

Setting on the patio is great and views are great. Food selection is somewhat limited, especially for being located at the market. The night I was there with 2 of my friends, the wait staff were a little cranky, must have been the smoke in the air? I got to a restaurant for the food and not just the setting. I was disappointed with the food selection so it will be unlikely I will return to this restaurant on my next visit to Seattle. Too many other choices.

Celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary on 12.13.19!

By jhtdang |

This is a very romantic spot for couples in the evening. The lighting is pink and intimate with a view of the neon ferris wheel. We had the black cod, scallops, foie gras, and lobster bisque du jour. Everything was fantastique! Our server had an amazing hairstyle and was excellent in every way. She was quite knowledgeable about the wine as well. We will be coming back again! There is an upstairs with more seats for larger parties. The restaurant is located to the left of the famous fish stand.

Good for a view

Quite confusing way to the restaurant. Bit pricy. Food okayish. Ambience not so great. Mostly non veg options.

Lovely lunch by the Market

By Jenni F |

My son and I had lunch here one day while running errands at The Market. Our server was lovely and we felt very well taken care of. I had cassoulet which is not always on the menu and it was perfect. My son had chicken and frenchfries. The chicken was roasted to perfection and the fries were thin and crisp; it really tasted like a perfect meal in France. We also shared a salad which was dressed with a great vinigarette and I had coffee which was very good. Another one to re-visit and bring the family along.

Great view

Great view of the water front.Nice seat out with umbrellas providing shade. We were sitting inside but with the sea-facing windows partially open and ceiling fan on,it was pleasant. Food was nice.Menu limited, also dessert menu. Salad portion rather larger than usual.I had ordered a steak. It was ok, drowned by a sea of fries, which should give some idea of the size of the steak. Did not have dessert, did not appeal to me. French bottled beer was like any normal lager, but never had French beer before. Service was efficient, smiles would have been nice had it been there.

One of my favorite's has gone down a notch!

By Laura L |

OK I am used to these French folks talking down to us, but REALLY! enough already! Also, the seafood salad had very limp lettuce (really!) and the halibut was not so good. I had raved to the in-laws about this place, and their bread so was also disappointed that bread was extra! What is the world coming to!

Beautiful view, cozy environment, food OK.

By lukecsmom |

My husband and I had a nice lunch here. The views of Elliott Bay are beautiful. The service was friendly. The food was mediocre. We had French Onion soup that was salty and the crust was a bit soggy. The salads were OK but overdressed. But the environment is so nice, it is worth it! Great place to relax and enjoy the view.

Very nice, high quality, sophisticated spot in the midst of Pike Place

By Robin W |

I hate crowds. This place let us escape, and it seemed a cut above the other options. Follow the red neon arrow pointing to cocktails "Cocktails"

Hidden gem with a great view

By RichardWorldTraveler |

Tucked away in Pike Place Market behind the famous fish-throwing vendor, Maximilien is an authentic French restaurant with a panoramic view of the Puget Sound. But go for the food! This is a great date night place.

Great lunch spot

By Amy C |

We stopped in for lunch after arriving in Seattle. We sat on the patio and had amazing views of the harbor with great food and cocktails. The service was top notch. I will definitely return on my next visit! Nice, relaxing and refreshing lunch.

Snails and cocktails

By Swimfins |

We occupied a couple of the six seats at the bar for a part of a lovely Saturday afternoon at the Market. It was worth stopping in for sure. The harbor view across the dining room was excellent. The St Vincent, a mezcal based cocktail, was wonderful. My companion’s Maximilien Mule was sweet, but good too. The escargot was fantastic - cooked and served just as they should be - make sure you get the bread to with it (the butter is wonderful). Thanks to bartender Ali for great service and conversation!

Nice french cuisine

Had a lovely lunch at Maximilien, nice views over harbour. Lovely wodden tables and nice atmosphere. Menu was nice, enough choices for everyone.

Lamb chops and overall experience was great

By Sharick_VA |

We sat outside in the terrace, weather was nice. We both ordered Lamb chops with ratatouille Food was really great Low salt at every restaurant we ate was a pleasant surprise and low sugar in most deserts everywhere we ate was also a pleasant surprise We ordered the cheesecake and chocolate ganache and coffee to end a great experience

In the Market with a great patio

By TrvlAdvntr |

Maximilien's is a quintessential French bistro. Located in the Pike Place Market, just south of the "pig", where they throw the fish, and Don and Joe's Meats, it's easy and convenient. In good weather, you can sit on the terrace and watch the ferries and ships go by. The menu has the bistro usuals: fresh oysters, smoked salmon, escargots, French onion soup, steak frites, scallops, magret and confit of duck, among others. And being in Seattle, when in season, salmon and halibut. There is a tasting menu for those who want All of which is prepared very well. The service is attentive, but not intrusive. The wine list is decent, focusing on French, Oregon, and Washington state wines. If you're in town for Bastille Day or the release of Beaujolais nouveau, this is the place to be--they put on a nice party with live music (accordion and singer).

Good food, great view

In the heart of Pikes Market is this French place that is worth a visit. We had an great lunch and good service.

Tasty food, good service!

By Jens Erik S |

At this restaurant the kitchen knows how to prepare good food. Service is professional. And the premises has a style that suits a French restaurant. The view is beautiful. The servings did not receive top score, because they are a little simple, visually and concerning the taste.

Lovely spot for lunch with a view

By Seattlites7 |

Enjoyed fabulous duck leg confit with green lentils and potatoes for lunch. Great service. Fabulous view of Elliott Bay and the seattle waterfront.

Anniversary trip

By LFalonso |

We walked about 6 miles and enjoyed the beautiful weather. This was an anniversary trip for our 31st anniversary. We stopped in and had a fabulous meal. Our waiter, Joshua was informative and friendly and the food was nothing short of perfect!

Great view, uneven food, inhospitable attitude

By iris423 |

Went to dinner here to celebrate a family birthday. We had reservations under the guise of Seattle restaurant week, so some of what we experienced may not be the general rule. In addition, I have dined in at very few restaurants in Seattle since Covid and have relatively little basis of comparison. With those disclaimers, however, I would call this restaurant one of the least hospitable dining establishments I have visited in the US in recent years. Before we even entered the restaurant, we were bombarded with directives of what we must/could and must not/could not do. Nowhere in those directives were the words please or thank you to be found. Just commands. Before we were even seated, we were told that we had to make decisions about food quickly, with no substitutions, and that we were on a timed seating, so we had to eat promptly. We were asked if we wanted beverages once, but never again during the meal. The food was uneven. The soup was delicious, and dessert was also very good. Three of our party chose the fish entree. My fish was undercooked, the broccoli was tough, and the polenta was tasteless. My son enjoyed his beef dish but said the portion was small. Our waiter was very pleasant, and I do not blame him for the messages the management had him deliver. I do question the management's style, though. Yes, the restaurant industry has gone through tough times. But why the highly directive style that suggests that THEY are doing US a favor by allowing us to eat there? I'm ok with the mandatory 20% tip, but why the mandatory 5% "service charge" that is "retained by the restaurant"? In addition, they charge for bread refills--the one bread basket that seemed to come on the house contained exactly 4 pieces of bread, one for each person. You can get a great view of the waterfront, the ferries, and the Wheel from this restaurant. But you can get the same view outside, for a lot less money, and it's much less likely that anyone will will remind you that you are on a schedule while you are enjoying the view.

Best view in Seattle, with food to match!

By jenniferpJ9729PF |

This amazing bistro is located down an alleyway near the 'throwing fish' in Pike's. In all honesty, we tried it because my Son's name is Max - and Max didn't let us down. We enjoyed foie gras , clams, Halibut & a dessert sampler that was even better than it looked!

Great food - Service ok - deck needs work

By pixielegfiend |

I once lived in Seattle in the late 80s/ early 90s. I had never been to this restaurant, despite its local renown. Finally did this past weekend. The food was absolutely WONDERFUL - zero complaints. The $20 Foie gras lobe on brioche with fruit compote was to-die-for. The duck, excellent - filet, awesome. Ultimately, the food is center stage and what I typically base my reviews around. I would offer some constructive criticism, however: It was a bit disappointing that we were seated next to the water and could not really see over the imposing wall railing. I wanted to be able to look down and see everything - the waterfront, etc. Also, the green plastic chairs are truly a blight on a restaurant with these prices. Ditto, the cheap wine glasses with fine wine. This deck definitely needs a facelift for better ambience - Puget Sound alone won't cut it. Overall, would definitely come back, but, one question: Is gratuity included? We wondered if we had overpaid or doubly paid, in thinking back on it. Additionally, we always tip 20% because we respect those in the service industry, however, our server was just ok. I saw other servers who were more personable and showed more mastery with their customers. Ours, not so much. My feeling? If you work in fine dining as a server, you should know everything about the wine, food, etc you are serving. Did not get that with the woman who served us. A bit aloof and impersonal too. Small things, such as polish, personal care for the customer, expertise etc., matter to those of us who consider fine dining more than food and wine, but a whole experience! It's all part of the 'experience' at a French, or other fine dining, restaurant. Still, I would continue to return to the food and highly recommend the restaurant to anyone.

A little snobbish

By BizMark7 |

First time in Seattle and I come to the market. So I find myself here. I asked the host any seats at the bar. She says around the other side. No view of course. As I sit I noticed one seat on the other side with the view. I ask if that’s taken. She says yes. No one ever comes back. I’m there 20 minutes having a cocktail. Was going to have another one and food but than realized it was to snobbish for me. So I paid and lefts plenty of other places to enjoy with a view that has Seattle’s charm of the locals. But not this place.

Pricey but good

By Crich70 |

Good views, food, and drinks. It's french cuisine. Wait staff is very attentive. Was a nice break from the crowds at the market.

Rude staff and especially the owner/greeter

By Vivianne D |

Maximilien used to be my aunt's favorite french restaurant in the Seattle area, but no more. Half of my family lives in the Loire Valley, land of good wine and food, and we were brought up on delicious french food. I don't know if it is under new ownership, but the attitude of the servers and the owner was rude and arrogant. Whatever the circumstance the owner should be professional and respectful. The waiter hurriedly asked "what do you want?" He did not refill my aunt's wine glass and studiously ignored us most of the time we were there. The owner acted like he was doing us a favor when we arrived and instantly turned argumentative when we pointed out that the website stated that they had valet parking which they don't. Then we wanted to enjoy our cheese plate at the end of the meal and they made us move to another table. Apparently they have a time limit! The rose buds on the tables were all wilted and should have been replaced days ago. The other patrons were sloppily dressed in t shirts, except for the table of high school prom kids who were dressed up complete with wrist corsages. And while the food was okay- though the cheese plate was sparse and not well plated. the view is very spectacular. But we go out for the ambience as well as the view, and the attitude of these people killed it for us. Advice to the owner, teach yourself and your staff to be gracious and more professional to the customers, you should never argue with your customers. Never going back and telling all our local friends it's not worth it. There are too many other restaurants to try in Seattle.

A Little Gem in Pike Place

By Wendy_and_Stony |

This restaurant is on the expensive side (so maybe save for a special occasion) and hard to find (go to the big Market Place sign at corner of Pike Place and Pike Street and then walk back into the corner) but we LOVED it. French style cooking of local ingredients, knowledgeable service, decent (but not overly lengthy wine list). My wife had scallops that were excellent. I had tournedos (tenderloin) which was the best I've had since I was introduced to tournedos by a now deceased resstaurant 40 years ago. Highly recommended.

What a Find!!

By MaryEllen5th |

There were four of us and we had no reservations for dinner during our first evening in Seattle. While walking through the Public Market we spotted several possibilities. A woman leaving Maximilian told us that the restaurant was really great however they were full and we would never get a table. We decided to try anyway with the idea that we could wait in the bar and have a cocktail. We were happily seated immediately at a prime outdoor/terrace table with a wonderful view of the harbor and ferris wheel. The food was excellent and one of our two servers was extremely plesant and helpful (the other had an odd demeanor/attitude). It was a beautiful and memorable evening and if I were to return to Seattle I would definitly eat here again. I highly recommend it!

Good Meals and Memories

By JamesIslandTraveler |

I visited this restaurant three times when I was in Seattle in March of 2018. The first visit was for drinks with colleagues. We sat on the terrace and enjoyed a sunny afternoon. The service was appropriate (not too much attention, but attentive), and the drinks were good. I returned for lunch a few days later with my spouse. We had an excellent meal (try the duck confit). Again, the service was what one would hope for when having a leisurely meal. We never felt rushed, and the food made us think of meals that we have had in France. Our last visit was for Sunday brunch. We sat inside that day, and we had yet another good experience with the restaurant. The view from the rooftop is really nice, and the seating area is adjacent to a community garden. That placement makes for an interesting urban dining experience! The interior is somewhat dark, perhaps to allow one's eyes to focus on the view. From almost any table one can look out upon the Ferris wheel and the distant mountains. I hope to return to Maximilien when I visit Seattle!

Tasty food, though too expensive

By AnitaBastos |

I was here with some friends for dinner and had the opportunity to have a great view while eating, as wells as seeing the sunset. The food was very good, but the bill? OMG! $260 for 3 people and no dessert! Even food was good, it's not worth the money.

Always an enjoyable time

By Frederick C |

This is our little "pretend we're in Paris" hideout. The Owner(s) and staff are consistently gracious and polite. This would be a 5 rating had we not met the (?self-proclaimed?) Sommelier. She pronounces is "sommalais" Perhaps that's from the Chicago portion of France. Not lacking confidence, this person let us know that we should have tapped her vast knowledge before ordering. D'accord... Maybe next time. She may not be there next time, though, as the owner(s) apppear to not be aware of her significant depth. and it may be time to move on. I'm sure the Tour D'argent awaits.

Excellent choices and service

By DHK44 |

After discovering this place last year, we were certain to go back. This time, I tried their fillet which was exceptionally well done.

Wonderful evening on the patio

By depatton |

Excellent cuisine and wonderful setting over the water shared with friends. The chef went out of his way to present me with a vegetarian plate that was not only delicious but presented with an artistic flair. I had not informed the restaurant at the time of the reservation that I was a vegetarian and they accommodated me without any advance notice.

Now We Know Why So Many Reviews Say Disappointed

By Ellensburgers |

How can a place serve PERFECTLY prepared potatoes, green lentils, green beans and carrots on the same three plates as near-raw sea bass, soggy Beef Wellington and duck "confitted" into a state of jerkeyness? Well, this restaurant somehow accomplished that feat along with presenting the most pitiful french onion soup and creme brulee easily surpassed by Jello vanilla pudding Average rating is being generous but is the only way to acknowledge the spectacular view, cozy ambience, killer designer cocktails and superior service that somewhat counter balanced the evening.
