from the moment we walked in the hostess greeted us with a friendly smile saying "we are glad you are dining here tonight" great seafood selection and wonderful service! views are some of the best in a classy setting!

Not only a great view, but food and service were great, too. Location in Ghirardelli plaza also adds more to view.

We went to check out this restaurant and were very pleased with the service and food. We actually scored a window table (!) but unfortunately it was already dark so couldn’t see the bay 🙁, We split a fish plate and salad, very good, the waitress was kind enough to plate the splits, service was excellent, overall we enjoyed the experience and more than likely will return-perhaps for lunch so we can enjoy the view!

We had a stellar Sunday afternoon meal at McCormick and Schmick's. We had good service too although there was a hiccup at the beginning. We entered the restaurarnt and said seat yourself Since its 2:00 we did. We chose a wonderful view table and loved it. Then our server came by and grumped and said you can't do that. We then found out there are two hostesses - one for the dining room which is not obvious and one for the bar. There are a couple of doors for this restaurant and we did not realize this till then. I am sharing this tip in case you go. The service after this was stellar. Our lunch was very very good. For our appetizers I had 2 of their very good oysters of the day My husband loved his crab cocktail. They also serve complementary sourdough bread which is stellar. For our mains my husband had ravioli. I had their very good salmon with stuffed shrimp and crab. It came with the best beets and mashed potatoes. Portion size is large size Nonetheless we did have their butterscotch pudding which comes with cookies. Best ever. I had an Irish Coffee. This is a very nice way to enjoy a Sunday afternoon.

Loved the truffle Mac and cheese and clam chowder in sour dough bowls!! Hit the spot on a cold day!! They do give you sour dough bread and awesome creamy butter so the bread bowl was a little much for breads. Other than that the view of the bay was amazing and the severs were the best!!

My group of friends came here to celebrate a birthday after attending the Fillmore Jazz Festival. We had a great table with a beautiful view. I like the lunch menu better than the dinner menu. The portions were large enough that all of us took our food choices home. The restaurant added a special touch to our celebration that I appreciated. Our menus were personalized and we were given a small cake and ice cream.

For how elegant the atmosphere and views, I was shocked how reasonable the prices were. Stopped for apps, great menu, wish we ate dinner there. Stunning atmosphere, reminded me of Top of the Hub in Boston.

We were hankering for some delicious filet on our last night in SF. This restaurant was perfect! The steaks were tender and delicious and the bay views are incredibly beautiful.

I’m rating this restaurant a 5 because my friend absolutely loved the oysters, haha- I had a gin/water and he plowed through some oysters. If you’re a fan of them, which I am not...swing by here and go crazy like my friend, haha

I had the rockfish. It was outstanding. Good wine selection. Service was ok. Not great, but in SSDyou can expect to not have great service. The service was what I expect there. 0

We had a party of 7 + an 8 month old baby for 4 July. Our server Linda was incredible, very friendly and professional, even bringing us warm water to warm a bottle. Additionally, they let us stay to watch the fireworks, even though our time was up. The food was also great, the view is priceless, highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion.

Remarkably quiet but a good location. Good service. Never disappointed by the food here. Worth the trip from the city central.

All the tables overlook the sea The food was excellent and the service from the staff commendable. Nicely paced evening

Great food, great service and a beautiful location. Be sure to park in nearby parking lot and get validation from the restaurant.

Quite a nice overall experience really. Scallops, sole, snapper, octopus, oysters all received high marks around the table. View into the park was most pleasant. Though busy, the waitstaff handled us with ease in a timely fashion. Well appointed bar. A good place to come back to.

The food was fabulous with a stunning Cioppino. However, when we paid the bill, I crossed through the gratuity amount on the credit card slip because we always tip in cash - this is to make sure that staff get the full amount. When the waitress saw that I had crossed through, she then asked my partner where he was from and ‘reminded’ him that it in US there is a requirement to tip staff. Firstly, this should have been directed to me because I had used my card to pay and I had ordered the wine (so she knew I was the host) - so that was embarrassing anyway. Secondly, just because I had not tipped on the credit card, this did not mean that I was not going to tip. Being told my staff that you should tip is wrong on every level. I gave her a tip but also explained to her why her behaviour was unacceptable. But who wants to do that and it spoilt what had been a lovely evening.

Two of us ate here on our last night in San Francisco and we were lucky enough to have a table in the front window with amazing views of the bay. The food was excellent with plenty of choice and the service was really good as well. Unlike lots of other local restaurants, we weren’t made to feel rushed and we were given plenty of time to choose beforehand and then finish our bottle of wine afterwards.

Visiting from England so took family (four adults and two children) to one of our favorite restaurants on Monday 22 April and had a lovely meal, well presented and service was just brilliant. Decided to book again for Wednesday 24 April but the evening was a significant disappointment. When our main courses arrived we had to send three back to the kitchen - two were cold and one was not as ordered. Whilst staff dealt with the issue fairly promptly, it meant that three of our party eat whilst the other three watched and then reversed roles. It was intended to be a family social meal and turned into a very disappointing evening and not to the standard that you expect from a restaurant that charged $450 (£370) for a meal for six. We will certainly think twice before going back.

I dinned at this restaurant I loved it! The service was really good and the food, delicious!! Their salmon was very tasty and the clam chowder superb! Overall a lovely experience!

This was one of the best meals ever! Great appetizer selection and everything cooked to perfection. The view of the bay - unbeatable. Great value for the price.

Beautiful view… But the lobster was over cooked, the server didn’t seem to care. I would not recommend…………………………..,..

I have to say I have been here a few times, and although this place has the best views, it never served a good cocktail, which is shocking. Well, on this last visit, we had a round of drinks, and they were all very good. Nooe was our bartender, and he was very attentive to our needs, filling our water to make sure we stayed hydrated. The bar area has also been remodeled and turns facing the view. Will definitely be back if the cocktails and service keeps up this way. Forgot names of the two drinks on the right, but the left one is the Sparkling Passion and it was delish!

We were in San Francisco for my husband's birthday and chose this restaurant for our "fancy dinner". It was a Friday night but I might a reservation and we were able to sit right by the window. It was a beautiful clear day and we enjoyed the view. The food was amazing and the prices while could be considered pricey they are very reasonable compared to other restaurants in the area.

We enjoyed a family lunch at McCormick & Kuleto had an excellent experience. The service was warm and attentive, and of course the view across the Bay – famous though it may be – remains spectacular. The food matched the setting: both the Lobster BLT and the Mahi BLT were delicious, fresh and perfectly prepared. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to return again and again. A clear recommendation for anyone visiting San Francisco.

My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary here and it was a lovely evening! We were seated, after being greeted with well wishes from the staff for our anniversary, at a booth on the second tier with a wonderful view of the water and Alcatraz. We enjoyed the delicious sourdough bread basket and the calamari appetizer. I highly recommend the cherry mule! My husband ordered the Dungeness crab cakes entree with roasted potatoes and seasonal vegetables. I ordered the Australian Lobster tail which included shrimp scampi. We also ordered a side of Mac and cheese. It was a ton of good but everything was really good. As it was our anniversary we got the crime brûlée and it was good, not the best I’ve ever had but still enjoyable. The restaurant was busy and our server was literally running from table to table, which unfortunately left us at times with no drinks or water. We totally understood but we actually ordered another round of drinks and we never received them. It was ok and she was super apologetic. All in all this was a great dinner and they did make it special for us.

We ate here for the last day of our holiday, booked a table the day before and arrived a few minutes early, table wasn’t ready. Had a drink at the bar, great professional bar man. Sat down and waited... and waited some more. Then our waitress arrived and took our order... Starters came very quickly, waitress forgot to bring bread ( despite telling us it was coming) $17 for 5 shrimp was a bit steep. Presented well but tough to justify that price. Still no bread... Waitress took starters... told us bread was coming... Mains came moments after starters were taken... (still no bread) One main was cold and was sent back.. no apology offered either end. Returned or when bought back, clearly having been pinged in the microwave... One last reminder and bread arrived, it’s a matter of principle now... Mains were mixed, my shrimp and scampi linguini was pretty bland, too much garlic and nothing else. Overall service was poor, inattentive and not deserving of a tip. Far to fast, felt like we were rushed through and wanted us out. Location is fantastic, great views but it felt unless you were a regular you were worthless, lots of tables in the window were being tended to like celebs but clearly we didn’t have the look... Disappointing at best. Not worth returning and you need to look at your staff and service overall. We will not return and will be telling our friends who arrive next month to stay clear.

Made reservations for my family as we were visiting San Fran. What a lovely view this restaurant has. I think the views captured our attention so much that no one really went to devices. Food was great. Mahi mahi was fabulous. They were flexible with side dishes to keep us on our diet. I would go back again.

They have great food and good wines, we went for seafood and a Napa wine, we were very satisfied. The view of the bay is absolutely fantastic, just make sure you get a good table.

The sea food served at this restaurant is authentic and prepared with love (taste well). Enjoyed their breads and the crab cake, the appetizer. The view to the San Francisco bay area is really nice. The cost is quiet high and also they need to reduce the amount of salt in the food.

This was our first dinner stop after arriving on our honeymoon, and it did not disappoint! We ate until we nearly burst, which we don't recommend, but we absolutely do recommend coming to McCormick & Kuleto's Seafood & Steaks! The food was incredible! We both had the A5 wagyu skewers to start, and the wagyu simply melted in your mouth - so good! Then we both had a 22oz prime cowboy ribeye, and being the steak lovers that we are, both our steaks were cooked to perfection! Unsurprisingly there was no room for dessert but the selection looked incredible. Definitely check this place out if you're in San Francisco!

We came to this restaurant primarily for the great views of San Francisco bay in the Ghirardelli Square. We came on a Sunday at approx. 3pm. They were still offering brunch specials which was really nice. Unfortunately, the service was not very good. I can only say this for our table only as it seemed like the other tables around us received good service with a different waiter/waitress. The food was average but we expected better quality being that seafood is popular in the Bay area. I dont think I would come here again. It wasnt a terrible experience but could have been better.

All decorated for Christmas, the tree in the dining room was stunning in silk flowers, gold ornaments and branches and tiny lights. It was a beautiful, chilly afternoon when my Honey and I stopped in for lunch. He started with a dungeoness crab cocktail and was a little surprised to find that the crab was served shredded instead of in lump form. I started with a crab and lobster dip, which was gooey and delicious, though a little greasy for my taste. We then each had a cop of New England clam chowder which was served steaming hot with a packet of oyster crackers. Oh yum! This was so delicious! It definitely hit the spot for two hungry visitors from Pennsylvania. We had a table at the front windows looking across the bay at Alcatraz.

We ate dinner at this restaurant. The location and views are great. Definitely get a window seat. The food was average though.

The view is impressive, but the food..... Just OK, very much OK, not worthy for the price you have to pay.

I guess I just expected more from a beautiful steakhouse with such a view! 2 rib eye steaks, one filet mignon all requested rare & were cooked well! Pay extra for garlic mashed potatoes & I am pretty sure they were instant! View was amazing, server Anastasia was a sweetheart but food was not good at all! We will not return.. you could get a better steak at Applebee’s or Chili’s at 1/4 of the price!

This restaurant is in a great location but the food and service was not worth the $$. I made reservations for my son and I and we were seated in a corner table. The view is great but from where we sat all we dealt with was the host messing with the thermostat every 5-10 minutes. We ordered drinks and calamari to start. Our calamari was delivered to a large party next to us. They knew it wasn’t theirs and giggled while proceeding to gobble it up. Really tacky and rude IMO. It took about 10 minutes for our waitress to attend to us and we alerted her to the error. No apology, nothing. We had it replaced quickly and that was the best part of our meal. Son had steak filet medium rare- delivered medium but my the time waitress came to check on us he started to eat it as my meal was getting cold. I had Cobia- it was just ok. Upon getting the bill the waitress pointed out that I was charged twice for calamari but she went ahead and credited one of them. Really?? If this was good service and attending to customers, I should have been credited for both or had a dessert offered. I know California just opened completely at that point. I know Covid really hit that state hard. I know that waitstaff struggled during all of this as have restaurants. I still did my typical 20% gratuity for her as I know times have been hard. I just really left with a negative opinion of their service, food and restaurant. I hope that others don’t experience the same.

We ate here during Fleet Week and watched some of the planes performing for an air show. Perfect place to watch from while enjoying our lunch. Be sure to check out the shops on the next level up. Food was delicious.

The view from this restaurant is gorgeous. Located up on the hill by Ghirardelli overlooking the Bay with huge floor to ceiling windows. We went to happy hour when drinks were discounted and very good food deals! The crab dip was incredible as well as the $1 oysters. There were many food options for good deals and everyone seemed to be enjoying. The mixed drink I ordered wasn't very good as I don't think the bartender had much experience, but wine & beer is always safe and they had plenty of that.

Usually our favorite restaurant in San Francisco but this time around was surprised on the limitations of the seafood they offered. Especially since they didn’t have lobster! main course

The restaurant is very nice, with a beautiful view of the bay. We walked in, just for the sunset. We ordered two cocktails, shared a crab cake as an appetizer (the waiter just threw the plate and walked away) and the presentation was not good, it looked unappetizing, as it was falling apart. We ordered two green salad with blue cheese crumbles (a loop was required), the seared Chilean sea bass served on top of a gnocchi tossed in a boring pesto sauce (the fish was perfectly cooked, but then, how can you go wrong with searing?) and we also tried the cioppino, a tomato based seafood stew, which I do recommend. We finished with tea and the pineapple brown butter cake. Overall , although the service was relatively good, we found that there was nothing special or memorable about it, except the sunset happening outside.

The views at the restaurant are amazing. The food is average, at best. I had a steak and it was not super. The wine is very expensive. Don’t think I will be back.

Their specialty was all things ahi. I got the spiced ahi special and thought it was good but nothing special. The salad was the same. The thing this restaurant has going for it is the view overlook the water and the fact that you can get a fabulous Ghirardelli sundae for dessert. Four of us shared one!

We ordered online for carry out. Said it would be done at 7:00pm. When I showed up to pick up the food the bar tender was like “well I don’t see food on my bar so it’s not done.” Refused to see what was going on with the order. Waited another 20 min with no one attending. Order had and I paid for 4 opposed to 2 chicken sandwiches. Online summary did not detail items ordered so could not catch the error. Chicken sandwiches were on stale hamburger buns that looked like it was from the grocery store. Calamari was soggy without any marinara. The only upside was we ended up buying the valet and front desk dinner with the extra dinners. Will never go to a McCormick Restaurant again.

The food was excellent, the service was great, and the location was unmatched. The most stunning views of the sunset and an excellent view of the bay and the golden gate bridge.

My spouse and I had our first indoor meal here after many months of eating at home or outdoors. This year's Veterans Day offer was 50% off a broad selection of entree choices as opposed to the free meals of previous years, but it was still a great discount on a great meal. Masking and social distancing efforts were noteworthy; occupied tables were spaced quite far apart. I had perfectly cooked sea scallops and my spouse had seared ahi tuna. Both were delicious! Portions were ample, and the quality of ingredients was high. The ambience and views are, as always, very pleasant. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and applaud their continuing dedication to our veterans.

This is a nice place all the tables have great views of the bay. The food was excellent. They also gave a bar which has a happy hour selling top quality food at a great price.

Found this great place on the last day of our trip. Had Happy hour menu in bar. Great food and drinks and amazing views.

Service is pretty good. Not amazing but good. The stuffed salmon is really good. The Hawaiian mahi mahi was also good. Spring mix salad was good. Everything was good...not lick the plate amazing but solid. And the view is great.

This restaurant has never disappointed me. The menu has something for almost everyone. Seafood is fresh and prepared well. Octopus appetizer was great. Have done several business dinners here over the years and never had a bad experience. Sunset is my favorite time to visit.

Had a lovely late lunch here. Excellent food, beautiful ocean views. Relaxing atmosphere. Not rushed out and were able to hear other people at table. Highly recommended for a special occasion,

Sunday lunch in the City was a real treat. Outstanding location for view of bay sail boats, swimmers, Alcatraz, Golden Gate Bridge, et al. Nothing like it, from front row table. Few early diners, with lots of attention from excellent staff. Menu extensive with focus on Cioppino served at most tables. We tried Crab cake sandwich and Cod Fish and Chips. Should have gone for Cioppino, as Crab was just OK. Cod Fish excellent. Everyone received a large portion of sourdough bread too. Very good value for San Francisco. We walked, but parking available.

Restaurant in a good point of San Francisco with very good food and strong dishes well served, delicious clam cream, oysters with shrimp and an artichoke dip with excellent tasting crab as an entrance, great variety. Nice, comfortable and formal place, friendly waiters all together make your stay a place to return

If you want great seafood or steaks and a view of the SF bay go here! It has a great wine selection. I had the crab and shrimp Louie salad. My wife had a white fish with lemon, my son had seafood platter. It was all amazing. Enjoy !!

The specialty drinks were good. The food was ok, was expecting more seafood on the menu. The views are fantastic.

I've been trying to speak to a manager about the horrendous experience my boyfriend and I had last night with no success. I'm leaving this review in hopes that someone will see it and something will be done. On Sunday, my boyfriend and I came in for brunch. The restaurant was a little busy with big parties and we didn't have a reservation but the hostess was able to get us seated right away. They were two very sweet girls but I never got their name (they both had short hair, one had dark hair while the other had blond). We decided to come back last night because it was our last night there, close to our hotel and we had a good experience the first time, we figured that good customer service was their standard but sadly, we were mistaken. We walked into an almost empty restaurant at about 9:30. When we walked in, we saw an older man with grey hair, sitting at the host stand, hunched over and on his phone. He didn't acknowledge us right away so we waited a second but he never looked up from his phone. We finally said excuse me to him but without looking up, he asked us what the name was on our reservation. We informed him that we didn't have one and he said: "we're not taking walk-ins, you can eat at the bar." We looked at the restaurant and saw there was only 3 tables sat and they were all smaller parties. We asked where the bar was. Again, without looking up from his phone he told us it was upstairs. When we got up there, the bar was empty and we saw a server walking by so we asked her why it was reservation only. The server looked confused and said it shouldn't be and that she'll go talk to the host. When she went down there, we heard the host yell at her: "just put them at 18!" The server sat us at a booth that didn't have any silverware or napkins on it like the other tables and looked as if it hadn't even been wiped down. 15 minutes later, a different server walked over with table settings, after he set the table we asked if there was window side table in his section we could sit at. (both my boyfriend and I have worked at restaurants and didn't want him to lose out on a table) he checked in with the host and since we were within earshot we could hear him slam down on the host stand and yell at this poor waiter that he's sick of everyone tonight and he can just move us wherever. We were so confused as to why this host was so hostile and so aggressive with not only us, paying customers but also people he worked with. We understand people having off nights but oh my god, his attitude was absolutely disgusting. My boyfriend and I were moved to window side table, again we were still within earshot of the host stand and about 5 minutes to 10, we saw a couple come in and said they had no reservations. They were sat right away with no attitude at a window side table. My boyfriend is black and I am black and Mexican, the couple who he sat right away without any fuss was white. We hate to play the race card, but what else are we supposed to think? This host was so nasty to my boyfriend and I for no reason, he clearly didn't want to seat us and every time he would walk by our table (with his hands in the back of his pants might I add), he would glare down at us with such disgust. At one point, he even kicked my boyfriends chair, seemingly on purpose and never apologized or even said excuse me. We asked our server to speak with the manager on duty but one never showed up. We were so disgusted by the lack of customer service in this restaurant that we just ate quickly and left. On our way out we asked the host for the general managers card. All he said was no and waved us off before walking away. My boyfriend is a Landry's member and we will definitely be contacting them to let them know these are the kinds of people representing their company. We also frequent in SF for work and we're not going to be returning to this place any time soon. We'll be sure to let other people know about the disgusting lack of customer service that goes on here. (we never got the host's name but I think we heard someone call him Ricardo at some point during our visit)

We had checked reviews on this restaurant and the majority were good so we decided to give it a go for our last evening in San Francisco. We were in the area and went into the restaurant to book for two days' time. We met Rachel, the host, who showed us where we would be seated to have a good view of a sunset and advised what time to book for. She couldn't have been more helpful. Unfortunately there wasn't a sunset on our last evening but this did not throw a shadow on the evening. There were four of us and we all ordered different food and we were not disappointed. Our waiter was attentive without being too gushing and we enjoyed the food and the wine. My one personal critique is that it does feel like a large restaurant (and it is) with waiters running around all over the place with large groups dining and every table full which gives a slightly chaotic feel rather than "fine dining". However this is obviously a successful restaurant and probably wouldn't be a criticism for most guests. I doubt if we will travel again to San Francisco but it we did we would book again. Well done.

Phenomenal dinner with a great view of San Francisco Bay. We had the linguine and clam sauce which was fantastic. The service was impeccable. Definitely a place for a special night out.

Corrie, our waitress did a splendid service job, she was polite, curtious, and helpful. Overall the setting of the restraunt was amazing and enjoying.

We had a nice celebratory lunch here when on vacation in San Francisco just in the past couple of weeks. We had lunch at a table with a tremendous view over the bay and two bridges, and of course Alcatraz. The staff were friendly and efficient. It wasn’t busy, being a Friday lunchtime. The food was good but, in my view, somewhat overpriced. It particular irked me that it was one of these restaurants where the main course does not come with any side dishes. I had a steak which I had to order sides of fries and asparagus both of which could had fed two or three people. It was probably the most expensive meal we had in the two weeks we were in the city.

Great view from the 2 seating levels as the sun went down 2nd server was a little slow Excellent selection of fresh seafood Quiet for conversation

We hosted our son and daughter-in-laws rehearsal dinner here on May 30. The special event coordinator was grea to work with in helping us plan. The setting was spectacular for many of our out-of-town guests and wedding party members. We had coctails and appetizers on an upper deck looking out the huge windows over the bay and Alcatraz and then retreated in to a private room with glass doors for a quieter dinner. The food was delicious and waiters attentative. Would highly recommend!

We dinner at this fancy place and the food was great. The grilled octopus was amazing. The ravioli and the hawaiana fish were very tasty. The value for money was more than fare.

We went to this restaurant twice during our stay. First time was phenomenal- great service and food. The second time we went our meals were over or undercooked and it took forever to get a waiter to come over. I guess it depends on the night unfortunately.

Walked Ghirardelli chocolate ice cream shop and comment we should stop here for dinner. We had reservations for 4 at sunset. The table was immediately ready and we were seated next to a large window with sweeping bay views. The tables are spaced apart for comfortable seating. The staff is friendly and helpful. The waitress helped us with our selections. Order wine, oysters on the half shell, salad, sea bass, lobster tails and clam linguine. Disappointed with the food. The fish was salty and fishy. The lobster was dry. Oysters were full of shell pieces. I generally stay away from chain restaurants but the restaurants in the chain in Portland Oregon are excellent. Thought I could not go wrong. Did not want to complain because there was not much they could do and did not want to spoil a great family evening over the food. Looking back we should have gone with our instincts and had dinner at the ice cream shop.

Location and view are spectacular!!! Restaurant decor is nice. Service is great. Sadly, food was underwhelming. My halibut seemed not to have been seared so was oily tasting. Wife thought the shrimp scampi was thrown together too quickly so the flavor did not meld together.

The views were amazing, the service was not. Having been to a lot of McCormick restaurants, we had high expectations. This was a disappointment. Poor service, average food

This is my 3rd time at McCormick and Kuletos. This is my choice for special celebrations. This happened to be my Wifes 70th Birthday. Not only do you get a menue with my wifes name on it but wishing her happy birthday. The service was second to none. The full bar, the appetisers, the entrees, the wine, the deserts, the atmosphere was all just wonderful. I had requested a table by the window so we could see the beutiful bay. If you book early enough Ricardo and staff wiil accomadate your requsts. I have been fortunate that I have been soon enough to be accommadate, and that is why McCoricks and Kuletos is my first choice ever time.

This would definitely have been a five rating, except the draft beers were off due to a technical problem, and had been for 24 hours or so which is ample time to fix the problem. The service was excellent, without being over attentive, and the views were excellent over the bay. A tiered layout of the tables means you can get a good view even if you are not at the front. We could not reserve a specific table at the front, but as we arrived early we were lucky enough to get one of the best tables which we could keep for the night as they do not do second sittings. Menu gave a great selection of seafood and steaks. A little expensive, but great for a treat. Overall excellent but I had to knock a mark off for the beer problem.

My wife and I had a fabulous meal in this water view restaurant after a great two hour walking tour (San Francisco City Guides) of the Ghiradelli Square area. The restaurant is in the square, convenient!! We started with a Dungeness crab/avocado "tower" whichwas attractive to look at and even better to eat. The crab was sweet and fresh.I then had a delicious grilled salmon club and my wife enjoyed a crab cobb salad. We chose a ZD chardonnay (2017) to accompany and it was perfect. Desert was a creamy home made butterscotch pudding. Lovely experience - looking at the Bay and Alcatraz Island, A perfect way to end two weeks in San Francisco. Our server, Joe Gordon, was fabulous - knew the menu well and a great conversationalist ... not intrusive but attentive.

We enjoyed a drink and app during happy hour watching the activity on the bay and Corrie, our bar waitstaff was friendly, fun, and knowledgeable. At our request she even booked a table for us when we decided to stay for dinner. When we moved to the dining level to our window table with an even better view, we lucked out and got Christopher as our waiter. Equally friendly and knowledgeable, he even checked to see if we needed information on the bus schedules to return to our hotel! We visit San Francisco regularly and this is the first time a restaurant employee has asked that question. As far as food, the petroleum sole was perfectly cooked but I would have liked a bit more of the lemon butter sauce. My husband was stunned (in a good way) at the amount of the clams in the Manila clams with pasta he ordered and said the amount of heat added by the red chili flakes was perfect. Overall, a wonderful experience!

Hard to review this restaurant, it has a magic location and good food. However some sort of internal glitch saw our meal delayed almost an hour despite the light lunch crowd. After this we found out our waiter had been "excused" and another assigned to our table. The food arrived out of order and some was returned to the kitchen undercooked. Eventually though we enjoyed our food and wine in lovely surroundings.

Excellent food and service, and the view was amazing! We had the Crab-stuffed Salmon, the Red Snapper, and for dessert the Chocolate Bag. A Top 10 dining experience in many ways. Also got to chat for a few minutes with the regional VP, Adam—a really sharp guy and VERY particular about the “details” of running a top-shelf restaurant. We’ll be back!

Our family enjoyed a great view from our window seat -taking in a spectacular sunset over SF Bay. However, wish we would have just stopped with drinks at the bar. Our waitress wasn’t knowledgeable on their menu, barely able to even read the wine list for some reason. Our dinners were uninspiring for the cost. Fish was dry and tasteless, not moist and flaky. Sides appeared to have been sitting long after preparation - vegetables were tough. Overall, definitely has gone downhill (by a lot) since my last visit. Won’t be dining there again on future visits.

Arrived 4pm for early dinner. No greeting - stood waiting for 7mins or so before someone came to greet us. We have visited before and wanted to come again for the view - if it hadn’t been for this desire we would have left. Staff saw us but didn’t move. Eventually greeted and seated. Food itself is tasty however it always annoys me when mains do not come with a side. Added to the taxes and tip - 1 course each (two of us) with 2 drinks each came to $190 and we were only there for 70mins. Having been twice before it seems the prices have increased maybe to overcompensate for the lower numbers of tourists which is visible when walking around.

Could not fault this restaurant, the food was superb, the setting is beautiful but the star of the place was Aaron our server! Such a lovely human. Warm, friendly, knowledgeable on the menu and attentive. He is still training but I think he was one of the most professional servers I have met! Well done, keep it up. If I could give you 10 stars I would. Thank you

A very attractive location at night with very good view over Bay Area. Good food-quality. Had Crab, Steaks, additionalem. Professional Service. Ask for Glenn, he’s the best waiter at all.

The staff was gracious and engaging. The food was fantastic and the wine was delightful. Thankfully we were able to get a 'Walk-In' table in only 5 minutes. The waiter was pleasant and helpful with the menu selections. We had fresh West Coast oysters for the first time and they were great. Our meals were well prepared and very well displayed on the plates. Do not miss the opportunity to have a meal at McCormick & Kuleto's if you are in San Fran near the wharf.

This was definitely one of my most disappointing meals in SF. The view is beautiful, I really wanted to bring my pregnant wife to have a delight lunch on a Sunday SF sunny day. First the waitress was so distracted she didn’t even looked to what we were saying, wasn’t able to give us a minimum presentation of any plates, we asked for the specialties and suggestions and she was simply cold distant horrible. The nightmare meal became an expensive and terribly unassisted afternoon, took so long to get me the check I started thinking on leave the place. Don’t go.

If no stars were an option I would choose it. Let's start at the beginning. The bread was tasteless and the waiter could find the pepper but not the salt. They brought my Scallop entree before the salad and then suggested that was appetizer and I could have my salad as an entree. I said no, bring the salad first. The salad was awful. There was some "lubrication" on it but it had not taste. Later they brought the Scallops which were burnt on one side and cold inside. I am a local and will never come here again. It took over an hour and 20 minutes to get any food. And the white wine was lukewarm. If you are a tourist, come for the view, order oysters, shrimp or clams, as they hard to mess up.

We were very lucky to be given a window table being just a walk in. Totally attentive staff. Superb food , the Halibut and Salmon dishes we had were top notch. We didn't head very high price wise on wine but it was great. Health warning! LOL the Chocolate Bag dessert was AMAXING. We couldn't finish it!

Late lunch.Restaurant had fantastic views of the bay. There was a large family meal happening in the restaurant. We were the only other customers.Waitress was friendly and apologised for our wait. We can’t recommend the food and felt it was overpriced

We liked it when we were in San Francisco 10 years ago and we liked it even better now. I had the roasted chicken, my wife had the sea bass. Both were excellent, and we enjoyed the sides that came with them. Big comfortable room, good service, fine dining prices for fine dining quality. Well made Old Fashioned cocktail. This is now part of the Landry's restaurant chain, so if you're a member show your card and get your points. Location is in Ghirardelli Square complex.

This restaurant offers both lovely views and great food. My favorite time to visit is during happy hour, when burgers, oysters, and other tasty options are available at surprisingly affordable prices. After spending the day walking in San Francisco, there's no better place to wind down, savor a crisp white wine, and recap the day with friends.

Every time we come to the city, we make it a point to head over to Ghirardelli Square and dine at McCormick and Kuleto’s. This is not your usual touristy restaurant that you will find in Fisherman’s Wharf just blocks away. The views of Aquatic Park and the bay are delightful. We always use Open Table when making reservations and our requested window table was waiting for us. We were celebrating my wife’s birthday and it was recognized with “Happy Birthday” from the hostess and server and a special dessert. Then there is the food....delicious! The wife had the parmesan crusted sole and I had the crab and shrimp roll with seasoned fries and a cup of clam chowder. The menu is full of lots of seafood and meat options. Can’t wait to go back. Easy to get to by public transportation or car, but beware parking is sparse and the meter maid is constantly cruising giving tickets for expired meters.

We enjoyed a very good dinner here; we all had fish or seafood and it was very tasty. The restaurant has lovely views of the Bay. However, as nice as our server was, she did not check in on us often enough and we frequently ran out of water or were unable to order a second glass of wine or request more bread. When we finally flagged someone to get attention for the wine, the person took the order but we never got the wine, until 15 minutes later when our server showed up and got it quickly at that point. The service was just not up to par with the restaurant overall. For example. only one of us had wine, yet they left the other three unused wine glasses on the table during the whole dinner. I've never seen that before. Hopefully, the mediocre service is not representative of the restaurant, but it did diminish our enjoyment of our evening out.

Nice ambience - everyone enjoyed their meal but the crab was very fishy. It was almost as if it was frozen crab.

Returned to this restaurant after a couple year gap host tried to seat us way in the back of the restaurant passing 20 empty booths and tables I requested a table in the middle of the restaurant and was informed they were all reserved I questioned this because the restaurant is nearly empty The Host who would not identify himself his name is Ricardo which we had to ask a waiter who he was I asked to speak to the manager and we were seated at a decent table after 10 minutes or so the manager came name is Steve and got insulted by Steve who did not see a problem with Ricardo not identifying himself and seating somebody way at the back of the restaurant with so many empty tables and booths Steve treated us with a great deal of disdain along with Ricardo also this is supposedly a high-end restaurant and you don't expect to be insulted at a nice place like this the service was good the menu is extremely Limited so I was not able to order what I had came for I filed a review on another website I was contacted by Landry's who owns this restaurant they ask for more information which had absolutely nothing to do with what had occurred they never contacted me about what had happened so they appeared to be concerned about the issue so anyone reading the review would think that it was addressed when it was just a meaningless gesture

We decided to eat here because we have heard great things about this restaurant “chain” if I can call it that. We both have worked/ work for the restaurant industry so we may be picky but also know what is right and what wrong when it comes to customer service, more specifically when it comes to these types of restaurants. (I mean, we’re not talking Cheesecake Factory type of chain here ). When we entered the restaurant (we were kind of lost) the bartender Continued to talk to the two people who were at the bar. Didn’t acknowledge us and the fact that we seemed lost. Completely ignored us. We found our way down to the hostess who found us a table and guided us to it. Very nicely. She was a sweetheart. (From Russia) Right with her, our server came. No name tags so I have no idea what their names were. Our server was very nice but didn’t introduce herself and went straight to “what you wanna drink?” We hadn’t even had a chance to look at the menu. So we asked for a minute. We had two 2 years old with us. The server was really nice with them which we appreciated. No one explained the menu or gave us suggestions. We were rushed to order. We ordered some drinks and the kids food. That came Our pretty fast. Right after that we ordered I guess. By the time all of the food made it to the table our drinks were empty, our server nowhere to be found. No one offered help. The steak was good. The pasta was too. All of The veggies were still raw and the mashed potato tasted like instant mashed potato. My husband waited at least 15 more minutes but he was like “I want wine with my food”. We asked a buster who happened to walk by if he could Have a wine list. He was very nice. Hispanic. My husband finally Walked to the bar and the bar tender was beyond rude. My husband wanted to order a drink but he stared at him and was like “what do you want?” Annoyed. He still ordered and we got what we wanted. Finally, the server showed up and asked if we wanted something to drink (this is about 30min into the dinner) no water was offered at any point. Our server would come to laugh with the kids and that was it. Don’t get me wrong. She was really nice but not a good server at all. At no point either, our plates were cleaned up. Everything was on the table. Nobody asked how the meal tasted. No one checked of everything was ok. By the end of the night we had not quite enjoyed our only date night at a nice restaurant and the price we paid for it was not worth it. We’re a middle class family who works hard to pay for a few days vacations and figured we would spend a little extra on a nice experience but this was the complete opposite. To finish , we of course didn’t get any dessert offered and we asked for our bill. Which came really quick and the server actually wait for us to sign all The papers and took the bill with her. I mean; don’t we usually wait for the guest To leave the table to take the book with us? As servers? I mean this was just absolutely a disappointment and it makes me upset because it’s now what you should Expect from This type of restaurant. Again, for the same Food and better service , I’d go again to a little Joint by the harbor and would get 10 times better service which makes 70% of your experience. Cherry of the ice cream: we lost the chocolate we had just purchased and we know we walked into the restaurant with it and left without it. So basically We Left if there. We called; No one found it. Really? I’m usually the type of person who loves to review because I feel like there are so many hidden gems I don’t want for people To miss. But this... I do not recommend with all The beautiful places there are to visit in San Francisco.

We had a wonderful dinner here with friends. Our server (I believe Anna?) was so nice! Funny and knowledgeable about the food and wine. She made the evening a lot of fun. The food was delicious, the Atlantic Salmon was very good. I would recommend for a nice dinner.

We returned to Mc Cormicks after twenty years. The service, ambience and food were as good as we had remembered and what a special treat it was to return to San Francisco and Mc Cormicks. The fish is of the highest quality and beautifully cooked.

Had dinner here on a Wednesday evening with friends. Fortunately to be seated at the window with a view of the bay. Watched a hugh cruise ship come in. Wait staff are excellent and very attentive. Food also excellent.

We went to this restaurant as a large group of 10 without booking, but the staff were very kind and managed to find us a table. We were seated right by the window and the view was absolutely stunning as we were lucky enough to watch the sunset. The food was good, especially the fish and chips. We had a lovely time and I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a special occasion, or just a nice meal out.

First the good, because the food was truly excellent. Next, the ok, our server was decent. She was friendly enough, though at one point she forgot my husband's second beer until we asked for it, but she did apologize when we reminded her it was sitting on the bar. She didn't seem overly busy as the restaurant wasn't very crowded. Which brings me to the terrible, and the reason my review dropped to a 2. My husband and I made a reservation for a 5:45 table on a Saturday night (6/22/19). We showed up at 5:30. It was for the two of us. When we walked in, the restaurant was about 25% full. We were put at a table between two very large parties. Who happened to also be very loud. After about 4 minutes we decided it just wasn't going to work. My husband wanted to just leave. I had my eye on something on the menu and didn't want to leave. I asked the hostess if we could move to one of the other tables. She said we'd have to wait about 20 minutes for an open table. My jaw dropped because the restaurant was 75% empty at the time. After a few exchanges she offered me a table right next to the bar area. It was an ok table, and I'm not sure why we couldn't have it offered to us before being told to wait 20 minutes. Not even 3 minutes later another party of 2 complained (we were seated right above the hostess stand so we could hear it) about being seated by the loud parties. They were not told they would have to wait, and were instantly moved to a window table. Now I could have cared less about sitting by the window. I actually didn't want the sun in my face. My issue here was that we were 15 minutes early for our reservation and were now being told we'd have to wait for 5 minutes AFTER our original reservation to even receive a table when the restaurant was empty. The kicker was that when we left the restaurant was still about 25% empty - and those tables had never even been filled while we were there. I wish I would have taken a photo of the before and after we sat down, but I didn't think of it. I'll admit that I probably don't understand how tables are filled in a restaurant, but to tell us to wait when there are tables empty and to not tell the same situation immediately after us is terrible. This will not be a restaurant I tell people to go to when in SF.

Joe who served us was just lovely. We stumbled in cold and hungry and were just delighted with all aspects of our visit. The portions were generous which you may not expect in such a classy place. The menu was interesting and the prices, though not cheap, for the quality, the amount, the ambiance and the position overlooking the bay- well we felt we had got our money’s worth!

I loved everything we ordered, the delicious salad, the cut of meat and the dessert of the best.. thanks to Alex for his attentions and for giving us the best recommendations

Had lunch with family at this restaurant because it looked good , had a good view and we wanted to eat steak while staying near fishermans wharf. The food was good the service as well

I was at the restaurant with my wife and our daughter. She is 2 years old so we ordered spaghetti and milk for her and drinks for us. After 5-10 minutes the food for our daughter came, but we waited 30minutes before our drinks arrived. After 45 minutes we considered leaving and then our food came. We where seated in the back of the restaurant close to the stairs to the restrooms. Our table was so dark, due to no light in the ceeling, when our food arrived my wife had to use her flashlight on her phone to see the food

That's what I was led to believe after I noticed how whom I believe was the manager behaved compared to the rest of the staff. He was very impolite and rude, to the point I was about to leave before even reading the menu. As a matter of fact, one of the waitress came to me asking if everything was OK as she could clearly see from my face I was upset. Her gentle manners immediately changed the way I felt and I was offered the table I initially asked for and the guy with the eye patch at the door (no offence intended here, simply a mere observation as I don't know his name) refused to give me for no reason. Food was spectacular and so was the service from my waitress, however the way I've (not) been greeted that made me feel unwelcome, left a lot of bitter in my mouth and influenced the overall judgement. I hope this will be taken as a constructive criticism by the management as I'd love to come back on my upcoming business trips and give these guys a chance to redeem themselves.

Had a business lunch there in a party of 5. Rest was not very full for a Tuesday in July. This rest is at Ghirardelli Square, a very popular tourist spot at the end of the Fisherman's Wharf area. Service was good and food was very enjoyable. While a bit pricey, not that out of line with the area. Views of the marina and parts of the bay were very nice. Would recommend as a good place for lunch.

We arrived and were seated immediately, but our server didn’t come for 15-20 minutes. When we finally ordered drinks, it was someone else that finally brought them after they had been sitting at the bar. Another server (dark girl with blonde extensions in her braids) noticed we had been sitting idle and brought us our bread. She then continued to check on us after she noticed we had been waiting over an hour for our food (original server hadn’t been by since he took our drink order). Eventually we just asked the girl if she could take over our table, if it wasn’t for her I don’t think we would ever have eaten. She was great, and we tipped her directly. In addition, there is only two single washrooms for the whole restaurant to use (both men and women). There was always a line, and one wasn’t flushing properly.

First of all, when I looked on TripAdvisor to write this review, the restaurant came up with so so reviews and its old McCormick & Schmick name. When I Googled McCormick & Kuleto I was able to locate this listing. It would help if TA merged the two sets of reviews and noted the name change. Reservation for a table of 12 was made months earlier (and reconfirmed). It was an occasion to celebrate my wife's 80th birthday and all our family were there to toast the queen. Selection of the restaurant was made, in part, on its location in Ghirardelli Square, where we were all lodging. In case the weather turned nasty (it can do that in SF) we wanted to be close by. Pleasing 12 people (the youngest being 10 and 13) can sometimes be a mission impossible, but on this night nary a grumble was to be heard. Three of us ordered cioppino and with bibs on securely we were quickly elbow deep in delicious shell fish and mopping up the bowl with our remaining bread. Others ordered steaks, shrimp scampi (w/linguini), stuffed salmon, swordfish and ahi; preceded by oysters and crab cakes; and followed by a variety of desserts (blueberry buckle was the most impressive looking). Our waiter and all servers were efficient, professional and a delight. A surprise was having the manager come to the table and lead a rocking happy birthday ditty to my wife (along with a very rich looking chocolate cake dessert with a lit candle atop). Add the alcoholic (and non-alcoholic) beverages and we were one very happy group. A bonus on everything was our great view of the bay. Although darkness had descended and fog tended to obscure our views at first, it all cleared eventually and Treasure Island and the east bay emerged into crystal clearness. Pretty special. I know previous reviewers had found fault with the service or the food ("not up to past visits"), but we had no such complaints. Our thanks to all at McCormick & Kuleto's for a wonderful evening. The queen was pleased and so was everyone else.

Spouse and I returned to McCormick & Kuleto's to take advantage of a Landry's Select Club offer - Jake's Famous Bouillabaisse for $25.00. I ordered it, while spouse order the cheeseburger from the Happy Hour menu. The fish soup was good, but not exceptional. The crab, clams, and prawns were delicious; the calamari, however, was rubbery with a lot of tentacles, and cobia is a pretty mediocre fish. On the other hand, the burger was fantastic, especially considering its $8.50 price. It was really juicy and flavorful, with grilled onions and a tasty bun. It also came with a good portion of hot, crisp fries. We sat in the bar to take advantage of Happy Hour and enjoyed the amazing views and stellar service. We'll definitely return for another Happy Hour opportunity.

We stopped for lunch here after a wine tasting at Wattle Creek Tasting Room (a great way to spend an hour or so). We were surprised to find such a well presented, well located restaurant which was so reasonably priced. The service was very good, the food was really tasty and the view was to die for. The tables are beautifully laid with white table cloths and high-end cutlery, glasses etc. Everything looks much more expensive and exclusive than the prices suggest. We had lunch but it would be great venue for a special evening meal.

We stopped into McCormick's to enjoy an afternoon cocktail and some appetizers. We had a wonderful table in the bar with incredible views of the San Francisco Bay and Alcatraz. For appetizers we ordered a side of french fries which were so well prepared! My friends ordered some oysters which they really enjoyed. The bartenders made a delicious cocktail and this was a great spot for cocktail.

We spent 10 days in the Bay Area. This was by far our worst meal. The salmon was very overcooked. The drizzle on the cheesecake tasted very artificial, the center of the lava cake was a congealed blob. The service was ok, but it should have been exceptional as the restaurant wasn’t busy. For the price of this meal, I was very disappointed.

My wife and I have bene here a few times over the years - generally good to very good food and great views. But our last visit was a disappointment on several levels. The meal started off bad and got worse. We walked into a nearly empty restaurant - yet were told that we couldn't sit at a window table without a reservation. So much for our membership card in Landry's. Unsurprisingly, three of the 4 tables by the window never had anyone in them during our entire meal. Our server, Reginald, was glacially, painfully slow. Wait to order wine, wait longer for wine to come to the table, then wait to order meal and wait another 30 minutes for food to appear. Server never came back to ask if everything was OK. We finally had to flag down someone else to ask for the bill. We ordered salmon, a Caesar salad and a Kobe burger along with 2 glasses of wine. The meals were way below average to the point of being downright terrible. The salmon was seriously overcooked and dry, the salad very average and the Kobe burger had no flavor. In addition, terrible pop music was playing loudly in the background totally out of character with the space. One of the worst dining experiences I've ever had in SF. The restaurant gets 2 stars for the view - everything else was a 0. We will not be back!!!

When the elderly receptionist didn’t seem that interested in finding us a table I should’ve taken note. Nice table good view and similarly disinterested waitress came next. Three California oysters with different dipping sauces were good though had to be the smallest oysters I have experienced. My ribeye was over cooked and tough, my wife’s salmon came with a nice sauce. To cap the evening the patience level of the waitress decreased further as no desert was ordered and further frustration as my UK card strangely required a PIN number which they couldn’t accommodate. The bill had 6% added to it as an excuse for the restaurant being in San Francisco before they suggested the tip. Much to improve in service and food

This restaurant offers a stunning view of the San Francisco Bay and Alcatraz, and the food — seafood and steak — is genuinely tasty and worth the premium pricing. Unfortunately, the basics were off tonight. My wine arrived halfway through my starter after several reminders, my main course was served while I was still eating my starter and had to be sent away, and I had to ask for fresh cutlery for my main. These basics DO matter, especially at this price point and took the shine off my experience. I was really looking forward to revisiting this restaurant (the octopus starter is a must), but overall it was a disappointing experience — despite the quality of the food.

We had dinner here this past week. The view was great. However our service was very slow and our server was distant. My husband was very disappointed with his meal it looked disgusting for $50. I do not recommend this restaurant. Many people letting their children run circles in the restaurant.

The food was nice and the view was spectacular. We had a clear view out to Alcatraz. However, the service was poor. We ordered the stuffed salmon but got served the cedar salmon. The main course was delivered while we were still eating our starters. You felt rushed and at one point we had to ask the waitress to slow down as it was clear they wanted the table asap! Even though we had booked in advance. We were there for under an hour but they would have had us out in 30 minutes!

We had a preselected meal with a large group. It was not great, neither was the dessert. The wine list was good. The service was excellent.

I went here with my parents, brother, and boyfriend the day after Thanksgiving. It was very busy but the staff was incredibly friendly and professional. I recommend making a reservation. We got sat a table that was unsatisfactory and they immediately re-sat us. Our server was very attentive and when our food was taking too long, she had the kitchen expedite it. The manager and team captains came to check on us and they were very professional but also personable. The food was absolutely delicious. You can never go wrong with the fish but that have something for everyone on the menu.

We had a gift card to McCormick and Kuleto’s close to Fisherman’s Wharf here in the city and had not been in a long time so decided to give it a shot. We drove to the area which was probably a mistake as parking was very hard to find. We decided to park in the garage next door and get to the restaurant. We were seated very quick and had a nice view of the bay. We started off with a glass of wine and the Lobster and Dungeness crab dip appetizer. It was excellent. For our entrees we ordered the Shrimp Scampi with Linguine and Filet Mignon with garlic mashed potatoes and a side of vegetables. The food was very good. Also we thought the food was not too overpriced considering the touristy area that the restaurant is located. Our server was very attentive and polite. We like this place and will go back again but probably Uber instead of driving.

Excellent work on the Prime NY Steak, the sauce was exceptional and the tenderness I don’t have any other word than HEAVEN. The staff is really kind, respectful and the place is just beautiful, when you see the view at night on the beach it’s just so great but really, the steak was one of the best steak I ever had in my life.

Walked out after waiting five minutes for someone to come to the hostess stand. I had a reservation which I cheerfully cancelled. There are too many other restaurants in the area that were willing to earn my business without me having to beg to give it to them.

Well, this was not an expected and not worth the cost. Service was nearly non existent, problems with the food and no one’s cared. Generally, if the food is mediocre I simply won’t bother to write a review and can’t recall sitting down to write a negative review but this was exceptional. Allow me to explain. We were seated and geeked by a male who identified himself as “ your waiter slash bartender”, and poured us a glass of water. After a long wait another male showed up and asked “do you want anything”. We both looked at each other confused about whether we were to order drinks, appetizers, the meal or everything. The waiter then said “just drink, what would you like”. So we ordered drinks. He came returned after another long wait to take our order. We both ordered steak, one well done and one rare. When the food came out it looked okay, but when my husband cut into his steak it was medium rare at best. I attempted to flag down the person who brought the food (a third make) but he was walked by. It wasn’t until I was neatly done my meal before a waiter appeared, carrying empty plate, asking how the meal was as he continued to walk past. When my husband said the steak was not nearly well done, his response was “well I wrote down well done” and he walked away. The same waiter came back later, cleared the plates (our glasses were long empty) said “sorry about the steak but I did write down well done”. And walked away. We never did get a water refill or chance to order a second drink. We finally asked for the bill, paid and left. On the way out, I waited at the host stand while one female employee walked past me twice without a word and a second also walked past twice but the second time said she would be right back. When she came back I asked if she was the manager, she said no but she would get her. When the manager came out it was the same female that walked past me twice and ignored me, After telling her about the steak, the service and saying hopefully you can pass on the info so that no one experiences the same thing her response (with much attitude) was “well there is nothing I can do for you now” and she walked away. No surprising I suppose as she didn’t really appear to be into customer service. The only reason I complained is because when you spend $250 for a nice dinner … a nice dinner is what you expect.

We decided to have dinner at McCormicks purely for the view, and it certainly didn’t disappoint. We were fortunate enough to have a window seat and be able to watch the sunset! We had lovely food and service, but was probably a little over priced (yes paying for view and location..!) but was the most expensive meal on our whole 3 week trip!

Great place overlooking the bay in Ghiradelli Square. Food is fresh and organic. Staff is friendly and the service was efficient. Very enjoyable!

Great noisy fish restaurant with top location. Unfortunately , the fish was overcooked so it was dry . Boring would have expected me better to have read other reviews. So not worth the money it was a higher price point there.

The Highlight Here is the Location with a Exceptional view of Bay Area ( especialy Sunset time ). Situated at the Ghirardelli Square. Nice Seafood Menu and Service. Standard Wine List.

We ate here over 20 years ago and loved it so went back on our return to San Francisco It didn't disappoint Best steak I have ever had (New York strip) and my son said the same (filet mignon). My wife had the salmon and enjoyed it It was our son's birthday and they made a fuss Great views from the restaurant over the bay - Golden Gate, Alcatraz right in front of you Lovely atmosphere, frtendly and attentive staff, couldn't fault it Expensive but worth it!

This restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel ~ easy walk from the hotel and the food was excellent. Great location and everything we had was wonderful. We had appetizers, a rose wine flight and 3 entrees and everything was wonderful ~ hope to be back soon!

We booked this restaurant for a Saturday evening after walking round the Ghirardelli during the daytime. The restaurant & menu looked too good to miss. The food was sublime, we had the steak & the swordfish & would recommend both. The wine choice was huge, which was great for hubby. I had a couple of watermelon cocktails (which I now wish I’d looked at the ingredients so I could make my own!) The view was stunning at sunset. We’re so glad we made the reservation & although a little pricey, it was well worth the money!

We loved dining here and enjoyed the relaxing ambiance and friendly service throughout our entire experience. The food was exceptional and the selection of wines was extensive. We particularly enjoyed the breads on arrival and the cocktails were a real tastebud treat. Our beautiful server (MAYAH) was so pleasant and attentive. She offered so much knowledge of the foods and wines on the menu as well as discreetly encouraging us with her personal recommendations to try. The stunning view from the restaurant was amazing and we had a truly relaxing, enjoyable evening. We most certainly look forward to our next vacation visit.

McCormick and Kuleto’s was excellent. We had a very pleasant experience and the stuffed salmon was excellent. We also dined on Crab Cakes, lobster bisque and to end an upside down apple pie. The service was outstanding to go along with the wonderful meal. A great evening.

Very nice location with a great view over looking the ocean. It could be breezy in the evening depending on where you sit. The staff I encountered were all nice and friendly. Food was good. My salmon was well cooked. The cheesecake was one of the best I have ever had, it was really so good.

McCormick was the best meal of our visit to San Francisco. Great view of the bay. The meal was excellent! I had the filet. Very good flavor. Family had Parmesan Crust Petrale, Crab Cakes, and Sturgeon. All we're great. My wife said the Crab Cakes were the best she's ever had.

First of all, I want to acknowledge the service we received at this restaurant. As soon as we walked in the door we were greeted with a smile and immediately sat at a table by the window overlooking the bay. The view was amazing and we had such a nice relaxing lunch after a morning of exploring and walking around. The food was delicious with good portions I thought. We also ordered cocktails and dessert and everything was wonderful. We weren't in a hurry so we just sat and enjoyed the view and talked for a bit and did not feel rushed out at all. My boyfriend ended up leaving his jacket at the table accidentally and when we called they had it for us to come pick up. I would absolutely return to this restaurant and would highly recommend if you are in the area looking for somewhere to dine.

Don't go there. Terrible place. We had confirmated reservations for dinner on Open Table for 9pm and we showed up at 9pm sharp and they told us the restaurant was closed and told us to beat it. Unbelievable. Thought something was wrong so we asked them why would they accept reservations for 9pm if they shut their doors at 9pm, they said don't care. The attitude was horrible, the guy (manager) was super rude and we will never go there again.

Food and service were very good in the restaurant. Well presented and delicious. Service at the bar was very slow and unfriendly.

We ate lunch here as a family and the service was great and the food was okay, a pleasant lunch with a nice view of the bay. So my husband and I returned for dinner the following night, and left very disappointed. Our server I Hope was having an off night, he bought our drink order and didn’t even offer to pour my husband’s beer. My Kahlua and coke was flat so I told a passing server who gave it to our server to replace ... pretty sure he just did a lap of the restaurant and returned the original drink, not worth complaining again. The Mahi Mahi fish dish was nice but the steak was average. Good once but not twice.

I really liked this restaurant. Staff are very friendly. Our waitress was lovely, made sure we were looked after, but not overly as some restaurants , you cant enjoy your meal, if waiter keeps coming over to your table. The food was lovely, I had the steak and my husband had the whole sea bass, And later cheesecake. Definitely recommend a visit 😊

Happy hour heaven! Absolutely delicious dinner!with cocktails. Stunning view and an absolute must if you are in the area

The staff was absolutely wonderful and very accommodating. The food was delicious and perfectly seasoned. The view exceptional. I would highly recommend having a meal here.

Bad experience due to bad service. Staff not well trained to cater to customers. Waited abt 35 minutes for our food. Very disappointed.

Lovely atmosphere. Great food. Good service. Wine menu needs to be updated. Vintages we’re embarrassingly off. Had to send multiple bottles back. Got a little attitude from the waiter. Would go back but astonishing that a restaurant of this caliber (that I love, esp this anchor location I first visited ~20 years ago) had vintages 3-4 years off!! Needs to be updated, then would be a highly recommended, excellent experience.

In SF just a few days, we were finding it difficult to get a table at Fisherman's Wharf but we were able to get a reservation for an early table at 5:45 which suited us just fine. It is on the expensive side, but it was at a tourist spot so I wasn't surprised - and I wasn't expecting the great view and fanciness so that was a nice surprise. Everyone was pleased with their meals most of which came off from the appetizer list: stuffed salmon, bisque, chowder, fish and chips, gnocchi. ONE complaint is that there is only one vegetarian meal on the menu and it wasn't available! The server clearly was flustered and not accustomed to working with vegetarians which is weird because well, it is San Francisco! If/when such a thing happens, offer a vegetarian meal which is all the sides put together and call it a taster menu. Drinks good, dessert impeccable.

I turn up to make a booking for New Year’s Eve, I get told they are closed, I then say it says your open, I then get told we are booked out, then call the next day and get a reservation instantly. The sad thing is the front of house in both occasions were exceptionally rude and arrogant, however the waitress and food was delightful. You then get a receipt encouraging you to provide feedback on a webpage they provide, which conveniently doesn’t list the restaurant.....

Very welcome View of the entire harbour and breathtaking alcatraz The dishes are tasty Flawless service Very good value for money

It was the best dinner my wife and I had in San Francisco. The hawaiian ahí tuna Crudl was a amazing.

This restaurant is in a perfect location, right in Ghirardelli square. The views from all tables is lovely looking out across the bay. I had the lobster tail and it was very nice, but pricey and it didn’t fill me up. I also had the pineapple cake for desert. I ordered the flight of bubbles (after a fiend recommended it to me), even though it wasn’t listed on the menu, it was really nice. Overall I would recommend this restaurant but be aware that it is pricey (they add on an extra charge just for “being in San Fran”; in addition to tax and gratuities).

My wife and I stopped in to have dinner and had a great meal. Our waitress (Mei) was pleasant, sweet, and helpful. I had the Herb Grilled Chicken, and my wife had the Cedar Roasted Salmon. The dishes were delicious. The atmosphere is cozy, pleasant, and elegant. The restaurant faced the San Francisco Bay, with fantastic window views. We did walk in and were seated when we came in.

Don't waste your money. The view is nice but the interior is awful. The steaks are not great for the money.

We ordered a bottle of wine and it took the waiter half an hour to bring it. Then our main courses arrived before our starters which he had forgotten to add to our order. Fish was a bit dry and over cooked, all in all a pretty poor experience and quite expensive.

We stopped here for dinner after riding bicycles across the Golden Gate Bridge. We were hot, tired and not really dressed for this style restaurant. They took us right in and gave us one of the best seats in the house with an overview of SF bay. The food was delicious and services fast and friendly. This is not a low budget restaurant, but the food is worth what we paid. We would eat here again.

5 of us went to have dinner. The seats arranged were at great sea view/ sunset view. Food & wine was great but the services was really bad. The request of ours always got ignored or delayed, but booking via open table was easy!

We went here for dinner due to the large menu for the area (not just seafood) and promise of great views. We had a table near the window (not right next to it) and the view was really nice. Server took awhile to come over to our table, but he was friendly and prompt once he finally arrived. Food and drinks were great, especially the crab cakes and lobster dip. Prices were a little higher than our hometown, but fine for a nice vacation dinner. I would try and return here if I'm in San Francisco again.

Had early dinner with a table by the window. Service was very helpful and made recommendations. Nice selection of wines. Enjoyed the filet mignon very much.

We retired to Colorado, after living in the Bay Area for many years. We frequented McCormack and Kuleto’s often. We were in San Francisco this week and wanted to return to this restaurant because of our positive memories. First, sitting at the empty bar, the bartender would not even acknowledge us for the first ten minutes. Finally he asked what we wanted as he walked away. He finally returned, took our order, and when serving my drink, set it down quickly without a napkin and no acknowledgement. He never made a comment to us and looked pretty stressed. We had a reservation, but had to wait to be seated, even though there were empty tables. A gentleman at the reception desk was very unfriendly and appeared to be stressed, as well. We waited 10-15 minutes for a waitress to acknowledge us, after being seated. She was friendly, the food was good, but she never checked back with us after the food was served, until we were finished and ready to leave. Needless to say, we were very disappointed. We are wondering if ownership has changed. We plan not to return.

Some of the best food we had while in SF. Everything about this restaurant was great from Host to the waitstaff to the food. Was looking for a good restaurant for my husbands birthday and we picked M&K. We were very happy with everything. They sat us by the windows so we could see the beautiful ocean......didn't even have to ask. Highly recommend! Steaks are amazing and the Lobster bisque....superb!

While we are having drinks at the lounge, a customer walked in with a dog which was wheeled in by a baby cart. She started to carry the dog on her lap and started stroking the dog. And this dog started to bark at children sitting a nearby table with their parents. It was an unbelievable scene. I’m going to stay away from the establishment which allowed this kind of behaviors. Some people nearby were consuming food with drinks. The dog was not a service dog but it was served by a human.

Got there late, so we probably weren't the most welcomed diners. Food was pretty good, however, my halibut was a little overdone. Everyone else had good food. Will try it again a little earlier.

Due to the city lock-down and everything going on, I forgot to mention how great Silvia was as well as the waitress who worked on the night of March 11th, 2020. My girlfriend and I came here to celebrate her 26th birthday and we received excellent customer service. On top of that, the food is delicious and I would love to come back when everything is back to normal. I've tried multiple steaks and they were all delicious. They have a special crab plate which I highly suggest as well. The waitress who brought us our food made sure our dinner was on point. I apologize for staying a little past closing time and I understand how annoying it can be. My girlfriend gets out of work pretty late but Silvia guaranteed that we would get a table for her special day. Hope to see you folks again, soon.

Located at the Ghirardelli Square, the place is a cosy, comfortable space for excellent views of the skyline. If you get to set by the window around 6:00pm - you can enjoy a thrilling view of the sunset which would soak you up with memories for the rest of your life. The food is good. The house wine could be better. No complaints.

I have eaten at this restaurant several times over the years and have enjoyed every meal. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the view of the bay is spectacular. Each year, on the Sunday of Veterans Day weekend, the Mc Cormick & Schmick's chain offers a free meal to veterans; I've taken advantage of this opportunity in different cities. It's been the highlight of my Veterans Day weekend for years. This time we ordered a crab cake appetizer that was full of crab meat and quite delicious. My spouse, also a vet, had a cedar plank salmon filet, which was cooked to medium rare and was impeccably fresh. I had fried butterflied prawns, which were huge, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. All in all, this was a great Sunday dinner. We both want to thank Mc Cormick & Schmick's generosity to our country's veterans.

The steaks here are just fantastic and scrumptious. They have a large variety of fresh and amazing steaks.

After driving hundreds of miles and eating at many types of restaurant, we finally found this brilliant restairant. This was a welcome contrast to the not-so-cheap but not very nice eateries in nearby Fisherrnan's Wharf. The building sits on a slope facing the water. With seating cleverly arranged on three levels, every table looks out across the marina. From the moment we walked in, the service was good. The menu included lots of delicious food and the white wine was served nicely chilled.

The view is not the only good part of dining @ McCormick’s & Kuleto’s. We had the classic Louis salad with bay shrimp and the crab & shrimp roll. Both proved to satisfy. The seafood was fresh, the salad crisp and full of veggies. The roll was perfectly toasted accompanied by piping hot fries. Our server, Linda was friendly and attentive.

We loved the view of the beach and service. The hostess got us in without reservations. The salmon was excellent and really good old fashions.

The service was atrocious, we came today October 14,2024 around 7:00pm. We received a salmon full of pin bones every bite was full of pin bones. We complained and the managers answer was “ salmon has pin bones” with out any remorse. He did not offer any apologies, or for the salmon to be changed to another plate or to not charge the salmon since it wasn’t consumed. They ended up not even offering desert they had a terrible attitude and hurrying us up after we stated a simple concern with one of our plates. Terrible service.

We were a party of three. Since we had no reservation and waiting would take an hour, we just opted for the bar area which was free seating but had high chairs and small tables. As usual, we ordered calamari which was really really good. I ordered a Pacific Snapper while my friend ordered Anchor Steam Fish and Chips. We ordered additional Lobster and Dungeness Crab Dip. Can't remember my other friend's order. Fish was quite good and tasty. Typical of American food, the serving was quite big. Loved the ambience - serene, nicely lit and chill. Waiters were very attentive with the order.

Wonderful lunch after my daughter’s wedding at City Hall. We felt very special. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us and give us extra attention. Beautiful views and amazing food/cocktails. Close to many sights to see.

We are a couple in our sixties travelling up the coast. we went to this restaurant with our son and his fiance. We had a lovely round table over looking the bay. The sun did in our eyes a lot and it was difficult to get the waitress to lower or raise the blinds as necessary - Moving the blinds did also effect others sat at other tables. The food was very nice but the service was not up to the standard of a top restaurant. Overall a bit overpriced.

We visited March 2022 at around 20.30. Upon arrival, we were rushed and told we needed to order food within the next 10 minutes as the kitchen ’closes’; I found this difficult to believe as people were ordering food an hour after us. The quality of service was overall poor. To begin with, I was given the wrong steak - I only noticed this on the bill, which was given at the same time as the food. This once again was a symbolisation of being rushed, as who brings a bill at the same time as the food? I notified our waiter about the wrong steak who then told me that’s what I ordered and it was my fault that I received that steak, a little rude I must admit. I certainly did not as I pointed to the specific steak I wanted on the menu; she originally struggled to comprehend which steak I wanted. She then told me to ‘wait’ whilst she went into the kitchen. 10 minutes later she changed the bill but not the steak, a little disappointing but I lost interest at this point. The food quality was also poor. The steak was cold (admittedly, it shouldn’t have a great amount of heat at rare but certainly not cold), overwhelmingly full of fat and difficult to digest. I also found it bizarre that there was no sauce with the steak. In the end, I unfortunately left half the steak. Despite the disappointing experience, I still tipped our waiter 15% (rather than 20%); as a Brit, I simply could not give the waiter no wage at all - that’s morally wrong to most of us. Overall, the greatly disappointing experience won’t see us returning any time soon. This is a shame considering the setting & vibe was spectacular.
Amazing
Although did have to wait a while to be seated as staff clearing tables, when seated we had an amazing view at the window, very attentive waitress, I had steak which was the most amazing I have ever had. My partner had the salmon and he said it was wonderful. A relaxed time and not rushed at any point
