Mecca cafe was only a few blocks from our Airbnb. We kind of stumbled upon the Cafe while walking around looking for a place to eat. The menu was very simple and prices were extremely reasonable. It had an old diner feel to it, yet completely modern and a great "Seattle Vibe" if thats what you want to call it. The food was very good and portions were also very large. You can eat breakfast any time of day here. I recommend the Blackened Chicken sandwich with fries. If you are in the area, please stop by and eat here. Seattle is a very expensive city, and we found Cafe Mecca to be very good and reasonable.

We were looking for a different place to have lunch and found the Mecca Cafe. The decor is much like a 1950's restaurant and the menu is very much the same. I was elated, the food was very good. I had their meatloaf meal, something it is hard to find at other restaurants. I highly recommend this place to everyone. I gave it 4 stars because anyone can improve, but I don't know how they can.

Basic home cooking, good food, nothing fancy but good. Place was packed when we left. Prices good too! ,

I like Mecca eating here often, where else in Seattle can you get a decent sixed portion and fair enough food for under 20$ ? But my rating is low because although the food is in generous portions breakfast is always spot on and good, but many of the latter in the day menu items lack.... flavor! I had the open faced turkey today, mash potatoes are good, gravy is from a can, turkey all white meat generous serving but no flavor to it. Service is always a bit kinky but pleasant it is a good cheap place to go, but I just want food that is better then something I could throw together taste wise. Maybe items from the grill would be a better choice.

Walking distance from the Mediterranean Inn. We needed somewhere for breakfast and was recommended this place. We were surprised at how TINY it was. It’s not great for large groups. There were 7 of us and was told it would be a 45 min wait. We heard good things so thought that was fine. We had to wait about an hour outside on the sidewalk. Finally got in and the only place they had for us to sit was the bar. We were fine with it. It was quaint. And much to our surprise after that kind of wait it was overpriced for average food. Nothing spectacular stood out. French toast was just that. French bread that was toasted. Biscuits and gravy tasted like canned gravy. Mimosas were not good. The little ones did enjoy the cinnamon rolls. Even at the bar we had trouble getting service. And the bathrooms were tiny and uncleanish.

Great food at a good price. Perfect for breakfast. Love the multigrain bread and the Freezer Jam. So good we ate there both days.

Loved the ambiance of this place, however, the bartender was extremely rude. He seemed inconvenienced to do his job. The breakfast was awful. Out of 5 of us, only 1 enjoyed their meal. The two stars are for the cheese curds (delicious) and the waitress was very nice. The California Benedict was terrible, the biscuits and gravy was bland... I had to send my Benedict back... the eggs on top were hard boiled. It’s a shame.. so many options in Seattle, I am hoping this place is know for their bar food, but for sure not breakfast. Skip it.

I love these type of places. My counter waitress was a sweetheart, the food was solid breakfast fare and I think I was the only non local in the joint. A great introduction to the eclectic Queen Anne area.

Best Greasy Spoon in Seattle. If you are looking for a hearty breakfast then this is the place! Good food and good service.

The food was very good and large portions. Convenient to hotel and so many attractions. We ate breakfast there 2 mornings in a row. Large variety!

A very nice diner style restaurant in a retro fashion that makes on an excellent breakfast.Good efficient service. Our server Betsy was very cheerful and attentive. We were staying at the Mediterranean Inn a block away.

If you come in here, you can trade money for food and eat it. Sometimes, that's what you want to do. The place has a "been here forever" vibe to it, which is cool. The breakfast was good, not excellent, but good. Good is good though. The biscuits were excellent however. What really caught my eye was how clean all the condiment dispensers were and how clean it was in general. So, good place for food. If you want an experience, go someplace else for it.

Great place for breakfast that is really close to the Space Needle and the Mediterranean Inn, wasn't too sure of the smell when we arrived but soon got used to it, guess some of the old buildings in Seattle do have their own odor. Food was delicious and the service very good.

Had a breakfast at this place, it was very good food, bunch of choices, so I had eggs with sausage patty, good stuff.

Friendly service, good inexpensive food, comfortable and attractive booths and bar. Little touches that add up to a great place: The place settings are arranged neatly at the booths, the art on the walls a combination of nostalgia and art for sale and funny things, the tea comes with the tea bag already in the hot water and with honey and milk, the ice tea is served in a small pitcher, there is a pump pot of coffee on the counter that the patrons can serve themselves more any time, they have freezer jam, raisin toast (as well as several other options) that is freshly toasted and buttered, the eggs over medium are over medium, the scrambled are soft and freshly scrambled, the hash browns are real! The pace has been there since 1930, according to the waiter, who seemed to know many of the people and what they'd like. If we lived here, we'd be regulars too. Conveniently located across from the hotel we stayed in, and we happened on it by happenstance. A great start to the day.

Food good. Staff experience somewhat frightening! We were served by a guy who barked instructions at us to sit down and came across as very unhappy with his job!! Maybe he is happy....but he clearly didnt want to crack a smile! We felt frightened to ask any questions about the menu or food so we ate and left. Not at all a 'warm and friendly' visit. It was a shame because food was good.

We sat the counter because no booths were available on a busy Saturday. The counter view was great. There were two waitresses and they were both flying from one place to another. The food was good - real hash browns, eggs cooked to order, and a waffle that was hot when served. Orange juice out of the container tasted almost like fresh squeezed. We loved this place and it fit perfectly on Queen Anne Hill where present-day trendy culture and America's past fit perfectly together in one puzzle piece. Loved it.

Historical diner with serious eats. Homemade mashed potatoes and desserts says it all. The Reuben. ..the burger...the French dip...yammers. Just dont forget dessert...molten chocolate lava cake

We had a waffle - made fresh by our waitress (I know, eye roll, and that should have been our first sign not to order them) but what the cook sent out to me wasn’t much better. The pancake came with some kind of syrup - not maple, that’s for sure. The waffle was a dense flavourless patty of pressed dough. Skip it. I had the biscuits and gravy with poached eggs. The poached eggs were good. The gravy was white and void of any flavour. The biscuit was stale. Overall very gross. Go to the citizen instead.

The Mecca Café is an old fashioned tiny diner that is very popular a half block from the Mediterranean Inn. There aren't many breakfast spots, so the Mecca can be crowded with a line out the door. If you or your group are 21 or over, you can get seating in the bar.....but it is harder to hear in the bar with music playing. There are booths and also stools at the counter. There are something interesting items on the walls including an old pay phone. The small staff was hard working and efficient. There is a variety of items on the menu and portions are ample. We found the eggs to be too runny even when asked for "over medium"...the poached too. On the 3rd day, we ordered "scrambled" and were pleased. The pancakes are large and very good and the bacon was crisp......but not overdone. Smaller portions are available.

I would give this cafe 5 stars if I had stuck to breakfast only, but cannot recommend the lunch/dinner meals. We had meatloaf, which was dried out after being warmed up apparently on the grill, an openfaced hot turkey sandwich, with the turkey also warmed up on the grill, which dried it out. Real mashed potatoes and very generous portions, but protein quality lacking. Also had a french dip sandwich, meat was tough and sparse. We had breakfast twice, and it was fabulous! The only complain on any of the breakfast items was greasy hash browns on 1 plate on the 1st day. Again, generous portions. The chicken fried steak I had from the breakfast menu was among the best I've had in a restaurant, the gravy was great. I think if I'd had the chicken fried steak for dinner I would have had no complains on the food at all! Sodas are served in a pitcher, which was great for the server, as it cut down on the refills!

Don’t let the exterior fool you. May have walked by but walked in and had a great breakfast. Waffles are a must. The staff was engaging and friendly even with a packed house. Take it all in the food and the atmosphere.

So good we went back again the next day for breakfast! Reasonable prices and food that taste like food!!

There were people coming in being greated by name and staff very welcoming to everyone. Place just looked dirty with grease/? marks on walls, decor, and tables. Joe’s Special was tasty but way too much food and hash browns were not crispy. Salmon benedict was ok but hollandaise really bland. Clubhouse turkey was real dry but I was 8mpressed it was real turkey not pressed garbage. Mashed potatoes had no flavor. Blackened chicken was delicious but aga8n the sides were blah. Shakes made fresh and were fabulous!

Post concert at the Arena. Not much around on a Tuesday serving food. We lucked upon this place. Pretty empty when we went in, packed when we left. One server was very stretched and my food was cold upon arrival. Wife loved her late night breakfast. Would return. Even cold the food was good. Bad planning by management for staffing.

We had heard all sort of good things about this restaurant, so we met up with some friends and headed over for dinner. Unfortunately for the bar tender on duty, there was a Seattle Storm game that night and the place was hopping. He was the only person to make drinks and wait on tables, and he was not very happy about it. Took about 15 minutes for him to seat us since he was so busy, and he had no problems telling us that we couldn't have this or that because he was all alone and the drinks we wanted (a milk shake and coffee) would take too long. The food was fine and the bar lived up to its 'dive bar' reputation. They seemed to have some great breakfast specials, but since our experience was subpar, we opted for takeout from the Starbucks attached to our hotel the next morning. Would I give this place another shot the next time I am in Seattle? Not sure.

We stayed in Seattle for 2 nights prior to taking a cruise. Our hotel staff recommended this place. The minute we walked in the door Sophia greeted us with a smile and made us feel right at home. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We liked it so much we went again on our 2nd night in town.

If you want a delicious diner breakfast then head over to Mecca. They take the classics and make them even better! It's a small place with limited seating but the wait was very short and worth it.

My husband and I were very disappointed that Toulouse Petite Kitchen didn't update their website. They changed their summertime brunch hours to an hour later. We had tickets to the Terracotta Warriors at the Pacific Science Center and couldn't wait another hour. So, my husband found Mecca Cafe on a phone app. He's always saving the day with a phone app! We passed an encampment of a homeless person. The smells didn't exactly whet my appetite. Because of the roughness of the neighborhood, I wasn't sure about Mecca Cafe. After rounding the corner from Toulouse Petite, the neighborhood got very dodgy very quickly. Actually, Mecca Cafe turned out to be a very good, straight up American diner. If you want a classic American diner breakfast, go to Mecca. Bonus points for checker board floor tiles. Prices were reasonable for Seattle. The staff was quite nice and service was good. And Mecca Cafe had a large selection of menu items I could order. There were non-wheat and non-pork items on their menu, unlike a lot of American breakfast menus. I have an intolerance to American wheat and most American pork. I have to eat organic pork in the US or I get stomach cramps. The USDA allows a synthetic hormone called ractopamine, which is banned in the EU and other countries. During our two week trip to Finland we stuffed our gullets with all kinds of piggy parts. And neither my husband nor I had a single upset stomach from pork products. One piece of regular US grocery store bacon and I hurt for hours. We still don't know why I can eat wheat in Canada and EU and not get a headache. Sorry, I had to put in my rant. I love to eat. But we as Americans need to eat food from a cleaner food chain.

I can see this being a great breakfast or late night eats spot. Very dark, very quiet, old school cafe (counter on one side and bench seating on the other). We ordered the NY Strip with Veggies and Mashed Potatoes, very generous portion for price paid. Also bought the Mecca Fries, which is a pound of french fries for a really low price. Overall very good, not what I'd call a 'family' environment, but moreso a place to chow down after a night out or early morning. I got the dinner, I'll probably try the breakfast dishes next time, the options looked really good.

We sat at the counter and enjoyed fish & chips (salmon!) and a Manhattan hot beef/mashed potato lunch. Good and good service, but not a cloth-tablecloth type vibe. Friendly service.

We went for late night drinks and had a great time. Don't expect fancy and you'll get just that. However, the drinks are strong and the beer is cold.

Breakfast happy hour ends at 9:00 a.m. Fun, funky place..good food and service - breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Good sized portions, dit at counter or in the bar. If you plan to go early for the breakfast happy hour, go early as there is a wait.

Eggs, pancakes, corned beef hash and all your favourite traditional breakfast fare dished up by smiley, efficient staff while you listen to to great rock and grunge classics. You may have to wait, but not for long.

If you are looking for an amazing culinary experience, this is not the place to go. The food seemed pretty typical of a diner (although I had a great, cheap drink). HOWEVER, the staff is super friendly, and the decor is fun--kind of intentionally divey. It is near Seattle Center, and the prices are affordable.

My daughter and I were headed to the Seattle Center and decided to stop by Mecca for breakfast beforehand. Food was delicious and people were friendly. It is a popular place so you may have to wait a bit for a table but it is worth it. Highly recommend if you are in the neighborhood.

We enjoyed the food, the diner is an old one which gives the experience more character. Omelette, eggs and pancakes were very good.

My husband & I were staying nearby and looking for something for lunch. From the outside you might think it’s just a dive bar but there are two sides to it - cute retro booths & counter service on one side & what, I rather assume, is more dive bar atmosphere on the other. We split a very good Reuben sandwich with homemade fries and were pleased. Service was prompt and the waitress was delightful. They have a pretty good breakfast and lunch menu. We would go back.

Alcoholics serving Alcoholics since 1929. Not fancy, BEST bacon since the farm. Most don't come to be pampered, just bring the morning paper, have a cup of coffee, eggs, hashed browns, toast & you're ready for the day. Been there at least once a week for fifty years.

This is your classic throwback eatery. It is set in a fairly funky area and is easily missed. Once inside though you will discover old school booths and stools. The menu offers a great selection at reasonable prices. There is also an adjoining bar with a modern day jukebox.

Cool place to eat with the absolute nicest wait staff! Can't miss their breakfast and I am sorry we didn't do dinner the night before. Eggs and bacon were perfect, marble rye toast and a morning mimosa!

This was the perfect spot for a quick breakfast. We ordered off the Happy Hour breakfast menu- scrambled eggs and a breakfast sandwich. Shannon was very friendly.

The waiter was very unprofessional and didn't know the menu and he got mad and yelled at me when I didn't tip, well no good service NO tip.

This is close to Seattle Center attractions (3 blocks?). It is about 1 block from Mediterranean Inn. It is your retro diner with counter stools and booths. We had to wait about 30 minutes on a weekend to get in. It was worth the wait. It was just like eating in grandma's kitchen. Any standard breakfast food was on the menu. I had biscuits and gravy and eggs, sausage, and waffle. The gravy had large chunks of sausage and the best I have ever eaten--and my family is a long line of southern cooks! They even had warmed the syrup for the waffle--which is very seldom done. They were extremely friendly.

Our first morning in Seattle, I searched for "breakfast near me" and found Mecca, a popular, local cafe that has been open for 90 years. My son and I walked over and were seated at a booth. Our server (the same lady that seated us), left us waiting for a bit, and I had to figure out on my own that menus were via QR code to be scanned by our phones. I had known what we wanted to order ahead of time, and my son and I both ordered coffee. The server grabbed a cup and dumped the last of a pot of coffee into the cup, about halfway full, and walked away. 10 minutes pass and not only did she not bring my son's coffee, I had to ask for my own sweetener and creamer. 5 more minutes pass, still no coffee for my son (or a fill up on the half cup I was given), and she handed me 2 sugars and a handful of creamer but nothing to stir with. I made due and drank the stale-tasting unmixed coffee because at that point she was nowhere in sight. Finally, our food comes, and still no utensils. I finally ask for them and my son's coffee because there is no way to eat our food without forks. She returns with utensils and coffee and no sweetener for the coffee. I asked for some and she never brought them. I'm pretty sure my son's food had the incorrect cheese but I figured it was easier to convince him to eat it than ask for a new one. My food was decent, no complaints. Our third morning in Seattle, we decided to order via UberEats because we were packing to leave and didn't have time to head out anywhere. I figured the food at Mecca was decent enough and service wouldn't be an issue because it was takeout so we ordered from them. My food arrived very quickly, but when I took my order out of the bag, I realized I had been given the wrong meal. I was given a refund from UberEats and ate what was given to me because we had no time to exchange it, and the egg meal I was given was very bland. So terrible service, and order mixups? I can't see myself recommending this place just for their mediocre food.

I was a little apprehensive about going to this cafe because of the name. For some reason I was expecting middle eastern food. They served a regular american breakfast (bacon, eggs, hashbrowns and toast). Our server was delightful, and the walls were filled with items from customers through the years. I could have probably go through every day for a month and still not have read all the things on the wall (the restaurant is about 90 years old, if I remember correctly what the waitress told me). I hope I get a chance to go back. (I don't travel much, so it's not likely, but if I do, I'll be heading there!)

We were pining for eggs and pancakes and bacon and sausage. Found Them! Mecca was a perfect breakfast spot. 2 pages of selections. Great quality bacon and sausage. Next visit, lunch. Can't wait.

My friends said that their shared two stack pancakes with two over easy eggs are home made and not from the box. With the huge size of pancakes, this Cafe is not as pricey as other breakfast places in Queen Anne. My hot cinnamon roll with butter was not bad. Mecca prices are reasonable compared to other breakfast places, in particular the one across where an almond croissant is $5.50. Pret a Manger’s delicious almond croissant is $3.25(?) in New York City. Service is good, friendly and prompt.

Such a good place to have a breakfast.I had turkey sandwich and cup of nice coffe.Prices are reasonable and service was fast !

Half dive bar, half greasy spoon, the Mecca is a place you want in your neighborhood. Rib sticking fare, giant soda pitchers, draught beer, ancient decor. It's the real deal, not a simulacrum. As such, you might have moved to swankier tastes in your senescence. Too bad for you.

Across the street from our hotel this little gem of a place. It is not big at all. Low lighting, dark, dingy with full attitude! I loved this place. I had the granola and the serving was HUGE!! U can get a full breakfast for 6 bucks if u want a greasy plate to get your day going. Great service. A must stop when in Seattle.

We ate breakfast here twice while we were in town. Got there right after it opened. The decaf coffee was great - strong as I like it. Typical diner fare and the breakfasts were hearty. The waitstaff was attentive. Seems like a local place based on the conversations around us. Would recommend.

Cool, bar and booth style breakfast diner! The food was pretty run of the mill - coffee, waffle, pancakes, eggs, and a burger and fries on the lunch side. But for a pretty plain Jane menu, the food was good. Waitstaff was pleasant and the vibes are for sure what sells the place.

What a cool place! The food was excellent. Our party of 8 all had different things and everything was delicious. It was a very cool find.

This place has a nostalgic back home diner feel and ther service was top notch. Their coffee is stronger than most, and thats how we like it!

We are rookie visitors to Seattle. Our visit is less that 24 hours because we're catching a cruise ship to Alaska. Our hotel front desk locals suggested trying Mecca Diner for breakfast. Well, this Texas girl was not disappointed in the experience. The diner is quaint and charming. Established in 1930. Black and white checkered floors. Barstools for countertop service. My husband had the chicken fried steak, eggs, hash browns, and toast; and I enjoyed biscuits and gravy. We also split a short stack of pancakes. The food was delicious. One of the best breakfasts I've ever had. I highly recommend visitors check it out.

We went for breakfast on new years day and it was the worst breakfast I have ever had. I was so excited for some good hash browns, well, theirs are straight up oily, I can do greasy but with this place all you can taste is oil. They even burnt my scrambled eggs, theyg were so Brown. I couldn't even eat it. The toast was fine but their jelly selection is amazing. Also their waffle maker was broken, which I find strange that a breakfast place only has 1 waffle maker.

I loved this place. It's small, but cozy with great food, and the best service, nice people working there. Laid back atmosphere, and everybody working there had that cool friendly vibe I like. I was looking for a place to eat breakfast, and a guy at the Safeway grocery store recommend Mecca Café. I wish I could have bought the coffee they brew there, and took some home. Our food was delish, and they didn't skimp on the portions...too much to eat...lol.

Late dinner following a day of traveling by train to Seattle and getting caught in ballgame traffic. Our hotel told us about the Mecca Cafe. Food was hot and delicious, hamburger steak with veggies and mashed potatoes, and gumbo. We understand their breakfasts are great so will check it this week.

What a grim place! What ridiculous prices and what horrible service. The cashier assumed he could keep the change. This individual was angry and rude when taking our order, bringing our food and not giving us our change. And he looked like he had slept in his clothes. My partner Jorge felt so unwelcome he said that he would meet me back at the hotel. I gulped down what I could and got out of there as quick as I could go.

Decent coffe great breakfast food. I eat breakfast every time that I can when visiting Seatle, the restaurant opens at 7am.

I loved Mecca. It's not far from the Space Needle' and has both a diner-like menu and a separate bar. The two don't really cross, so it's easy to do one or the other (I just did the restaurant). I would highly recommend the tuna melt and their hot chocolate. Both were exceptional. And their fries are crazy delicious. You will not leave hungry, that's for sure. I enjoyed both servers I had as well. Just a nice little neighborhood place with really great food.

Arrived in Seattle from Houston and we were famished. Hotel concierge told us about Mecca. It was close by so we went there. Not disappointed. Food was good, nice atmosphere and waiter was attentive. Portions were very large. Was a good choice for comfort food.

Super attentive staff . We didn’t wait long for a table but a line soon formed after us . Typical breakfast menu . Food came quick . Good size portions . Tasty Pancakes were large , bacon nice and hash browns very good . A bit more expensive than we are used to paying in FLA and GA but it is a major city

My husband and I stayed at a local hotel and ate at this diner for breakfast. The staff were fast and efficient. The food was great and reasonably priced.

Ate here as a family while staying in a hotel nearby. Fantastic diner style breakfast-the hash browns, coffee and sausage patties were the standouts. Quick, friendly service. Sadly these kind of places seem to be dying out, I hope the Mecca cafe sticks around.

This was within walking distance from our hotel, and we wanted something more substantial for breakfast than just coffee. It was also in my Secrets of Seattle guidebook with a great review, so that was encouraging. We missed the 6am-8am Breakfast Happy hour, but still enjoyed large portions for not too expensive. They also have a breathalyzer on the counter as soon as you walk in, which I wasn't expecting. But the food was great, and the decor was all local bands, etc. Be sure to check out all of the stickers in the light fixtures over the tables.

We ate breakfast at Mecca three times while in Queen Anne. It gets crowded, especially on weekends. And yes, I ordered two pancakes. Biggest pancakes I've ever seen. I managed to eat half of the order. Mecca has a large menu, so there should something to please everyone. Note that Mecca also does lunch and dinner.

First evening we arrived, the hotel recommend the Mecca Café, walked in ready for a drink and some food. The bartender could have cared less, we had one drink and an appetizer, while he chatted with his local friends at the end of the bar. We would have liked another drink.... buy our attitude, turned into "never mind" and we left. Maybe the restaurant side was better, we never went back.

It had excellent reviews so I was excited to try it out but I was unfortunately disappointed. Not necessarily “bad”, but really just average cafe food. Average to below average service. The location is great though.

We stayed in a hotel about a block away. This was great for us since we could walk there. Fast seating and pretty quick service . We were there on a Wednesday morning. Weekends could be busier. Typical full on breakfast menu with homemade corned beef hash and a full bar if you are in the mood.

This little old fashioned cafe is located on lower Queen Anne Ave between Merced and Republican. There is very good "comfort" food in generous portions. We've eaten here several times on previous trips when staying at the nearby Mediterranean Inn. This small cafe is very popular with locals, as well as tourists. It certainly isn't fancy, and there is often a line to get in, but it is worth it. Larger groups can sometimes be seated in the lounge as there are only booths and the counter otherwise. Service is often faster at the counter. The bacon is excellent! We were there for breakfast, but there is also lunch and dinner with traditional entrees like meatloaf, hot turkey sandwiches, Reuben's, huge philly sandwiches, and more. Try to go before or after the main eating times to avoid a line.

After a day seeing sights in Seattle we asked at the front desk of the Mediterranean Inn where we could get something light nearby. We were directed along the street to the Mecca half a block away. The place was a step back in time and the restaurant side had all tables filled so we sat at the counter where we met our waitress Jennifer. She made the evening - a very interesting and helpfull person, actually a free spirit. She suggested the smaller portions for and they were actually huge. My wife and I left the place completely full at a reasonable cost. A Diet Coke was served in a quart plus size pitcher which was refilled when half empty. The size of the other portions were proportionate in size. If we weren’t leaving town in the morning we would go back again.

This was a little Dive bar with the most amazing food. We asked a local where we should grab Breakfast the Mecca was recommended. The service was great the food was real home made food it was amazing.

We ate here our first morning in town. It's very small and seemed to have only one waitress doing everything. The food is basic Diner fare and pretty good. Prices are reasonable. If you have more than four people it would be impossible to sit together. There are only small booths and counter seating. If you have long legs...counter seating is out. We went back for dinner one night and the attached bar, with only a small wall between, was very load...and they pipe the music into the diner so it was very loud. This is completely unnecessary because you're only a hundred feet from the action. Their motto is "Alcoholics serving Alcoholics" so it isn't a place I'd take the family after 4 or 5.

We had 2 great breakfasts at this cafe/bar. Large portions and great hash browns. The exterior is a bit plain, but there is a lot of character inside. Friendly staff

I like the diner ambience... was here for breakfast. Bacon and eggs... all good. Server was Betsy.. terrific service. Coffee fill-ups were fast! Will return!

The restaurant is a bit dark and narrow but our server was very friendly and efficient. The prices were cheap and the diner was full. A good solid meal with no frills.

First time visiting Seattle and this diner was located a half block away from our hotel. Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the Mecca cafe is up to the task serving tasty plentiful plates of food at a reasonable price. Their breakfast combo with the sausage patty was splendid. There's definitely something for everyone here!

This place was recommended to us by the nearby hotel me and my kids were staying. It was such an awful experience that we actually left shortly after our order was taken because the vibes were so hostile and unsettling. We were the second table to get up and leave during a 10 minute span. The guy (bartender/server) that was working there on March 3rd was so incredibly rude and condescending. I have never walked out of a restaurant before. The deal breaker for me was when my daughters were ordering and he was rolling his eyes and being condescending to them about their egg choices. We were all so incredibly uncomfortable. I would never recommend this place and I wish I could give it a negative star. To that dude working March 3rd…it’s obvious you got a lot of anger going on…might wanna work on that. The irony is in the menu there is a blurb about treating your server with kindness. Ummmmm goes both ways. We were polite during the entire interaction that felt borderline on abuse. Boo 👎👎 NEGATIVE 5 Stars.

Even my 10 yo son was in awe from the magnificence of Mecca. Coffee was hot, service was friendly, and the hashbrowns were delicious! My son exclaimed at some point between bites "This place really IS heaven!" We are in town from Dallas. I wish Dallas had this place.

I would describe this as a classic diner. It's not fancy, but the food is very good. The service was prompt and our food came very fast after ordering.

Iconic pub breakfast in the Queen ave area close to the cruise terminal. The eggs Benedict was above par. Loved their special coffee which I had 3 cups. Good service.

Food was OK. The waitress was more interested in chatting with the people in the back than the patrons. Couldn't help but wonder about overall cleanliness.

Ate a late lunch here and the food was yummy. We just had burgers/fries and were full when we left. Fries are big & fat and very tasty. The sodas are served in PITCHERS accompanied by a straw. It's all for one person! The venue is long & skinny---sort of like in New York, with a narrow street view footprint. We kept seeing people going up & down a very narrow flight of wooden stairs & finally asked----the office & storage were up there. Two servers were working hard, but you just have to be patient and wait your turn. Other offerings were meatloaf and lots of sandwiches. Nice bar as well, with some upscale mixed drinks offered. Great place for any neighborhood!

Food was subpar bar food. My husband ordered fish and chips. It tasted like frozen fish fillets. My jojos appetizer was ok.

This place was very close to hotel which had no bar or restaurant ( Mediterranean Hotel ). Food was very good. One person serving al customers and was busy 8am. He did a great job of friendliness and service.

It's like they cut the building in two making one side an adorable diner and the other a bar. We ate dinner here and were pleased with the diner type food offered including a delicious omelette and the largest glass of root beer I've ever been served. We didn't have to wait to sit down at 7:15 pm or so on a Wednesday night in August but I could see that the limited number of booths would fill up easily. Otherwise you're eating at a cute counter a la soda fountain type counter. Prices were super reasonable and portions were good sized. The omelette came with delicious shredded hash browns and two huge slices of toast. The grilled cheese sandwich wasn't anything exciting but hit the spot. So it's not gourmet but good comfort food in a diner setting. Service was super slow as we waited quite a while for our meal but the waitress was very friendly. The diner menu didn't offer alcoholic drinks but I suppose you could get one from the bar area.

The service was fast and friendly. There was no loud music playing. The eggs I ordered were actually cooked over medium and the hash browns were homemade. An incredible bargain.

Love the funky fresh atmosphere! Service awesome and food delicious! We enjoyed breakfast drinks and egg dishes.

Great breakfast at Mecca Cafe! Food was great & close to our hotel. It is a small place with booths & a bar to sit at. They even had a bar to get a Bloody Mary )).

The Mecca Cafe was recommended by the front desk staff at our hotel. I ordered the breakfast sandwich on a biscuit. It was giant and very delicious. Reasonably priced.

When I go to Seattle, I often stay at the Mediterranean Inn just down the street, and I have eaten here a few dozen times. It is, as they put it, "stumbling distance" from Seattle's hot spots, and has a pleasant feel somewhere between a classic boxcar diner and a classic dive bar. The atmosphere and staff are pointedly laid back. Their official slogan is "alcoholics serving alcoholics since 1929," so I know I am in good company here. I'll be honest, I have not explored their menu much, I may have had a burger or two but I pretty much always order the country fried steak and eggs. Last time I ate it for breakfast AND dinner, 2 days in a row. I don't know there might be something wrong with me. It's a generous portion, well executed, and exactly the same every time. The guys in the kitchen obviously have their s**t together. They get it out fast and it's always piping hot. I usually pair it with their bloody mary.

We visited on our first day visiting Seattle after seeing the reviews. Place was quaint for a weekday breakfast, (930am), with a few tables full when we arrived. One thing to note, check out the drink prices. We ordered a kids apple juice, and it was nearly five bucks!!!! I had chicken fried steak which was flavoursome but the sausage gravy seemed like it was straight from a can. Kids french toast was very popular, but is pretty cinamonny. Blueberry pancake stack for my wife they were tasty but a little dry. All in, worst the visit but manage expectations

Excellent breakfast and cocktails. The hash browns are crispy and creamy. The Joe special is unique and a large portion. It’s obviously the place the locals eat all the time.

I had read about this restaurant on Trip Advisor. We arrived on the weekend around 8am. There was a line later in the mid-morning time frame out the door. Booths and seating at the counter - kind of like an old fashioned diner. The waitress (8/7/2022) was working exceptionally hard to take in orders and deliver. I like the fact that she noticed that I had ordered extra well-done scrambled eggs with my breakfast order and once at the table sent them back to the cook since they were not well-done.

Husband and I were craving comfort food. Went in about 2pm, no tables open, sat at bar. We both had hot turkey sandwiches. They were delicious! Service was excellent and fast.

I had the smoked salmon scramble and found it to be very good. Don't go here for a shiny new restaurant, go here for the food.

Just don't judge this book by it's cover! We met the owner and our cook. Friendly WHOLESOME atmosphere PLUS great food and kind servers! Mary was SO NICE and the red velvet bundt cake warmed with vanilla ice cream is a MUST!

This restaurent was an easy walk, maybe 500 feet, from our hotel (Mediterrean Inn). The food was great and the service excellent. It is an older building with a long counter on one side and bothes along the other wall with the kitchen visible in the back. Black and white tile motif which may be original but very clean. Not a swanky upscale restaurent but the prices are reasonable so you are not paying for ambience only the food which was good and plenty of it.

Went for breakfast from nearby hotel. Typical diner fare with some local influences. Food was what you would expect from a diner...nothing fancy, but good. Service was OK. Took some time for food to arrive,

One of the best omelettes I've ever had, fresh ingredients, large portions and a great Bloody Mary. Limited seating but worth the wait. Homemade giant waffles are awesome!

Upon checking Trip Advisor reviews, we chose to go to the Mecca Cafe for breakfast. Located a few blocks from the space needle, this eclectic venue offers multiple delicious options to start your day off. Pancakes, Corned Beef Hash, Waffles and an impressive breakfast platter were ordered. The bacon was deliciously thick. The coffee, a specially crafted blend, created exclusively for Mecca Cafe by Vashon Coffee Company was stated as being rich & smooth in taste. Anna, our waitress, added local "flavor" to our morning with her great personality and attention to detail service. Each of us were very satisfied with our dining experience and plan to visit again the next time we are in Seattle.

I probably should have ordered breakfast because the place got rave reviews for its breakfast, but it was dinner time and I didn't feel like eating two breakfasts today. I ordered the salmon fish and chips. The fish was overdone; therefore it was dry. I made it more edible by slathering it with tartar sauce -- maybe I should have just bought a bottle of tartar sauce and ate that. The fries were fresh-cut but soft. I prefer more crispy and less limp fries, so uncharacteristic of me, I didn't clean my place even though I was still hungry.

We were staying at the Mediterranean Inn and they recommended the Mecca Cafe for breakfast. On the first morning we looked at the menu given to us by the gentleman serving us and ordered the French toast and my wife had the classic (basic) breakfast. On the second morning, the lady (who was busier and more efficient) suggested that we should order from the Happy Hour menu. I still had the (smaller) French toast and my wife had the (huge) breakfast sandwich. It cost us less and she got a bigger tip.

I've never walked out of a restaurant or given a 1 start review until I went to the Mecca Cafe. After being seated, we waited 20 minutes and the waitress never even took a drink order. There were about 20 people in the restaurant and all of us were ignored except the two at the bar that she was having a personal conversation with. There was food that sat in the window for 10 minutes getting cold while she talked with the couple at the bar about a guy who wouldn't return her text. We won't be back.

We had our daily breakfast - was recommended by our hotel. They had a good variety of choices and good service as well.

We ate here twice for breakfast. Lovely diner style eatery with cool decor. Our hotel recommended the cafe as a great eating place. Breakfast was Devine. Lots of choices… staff were super-friendly and attentive. They were quick with coffee and water as we were seated, reviewing the menu. They also provided food recommendations and anything we needed changed, was no trouble. Thank you for the wonderful service and food.

We went to MC at the recommendation of the Marqueen Hotel staff. They said it was great and they weren't wrong. It's small so a line out the door is apparently the norm, but the food was awesome!!! We were there for breakfast and I had the chicken fried steak (so yummy) and my husband had blueberry pancakes which he said were delicious. The staff was very friendly and attentive. It's clearly a neighborhood joint which makes me want to move to Queen Anne. If I saw this restaurant on Diners, Drive-Ins and, Dives I wouldn't be the least bit surprised. It was fantastic!

My husband and I chose this restaurant because it was an easy walk from the Mediterranean Inn. We went for breakfast, and we were NOT disappointed. We immediately sat down, were served our drinks, and our order was taken. Our waitress recommended some delicious options. My husband had the eggs, hashbrowns, bacon, and biscuits. The eggs were perfect, hashbrowns delicious, bacon...OH THE BACON...super thick and perfectly crisp. The biscuits weren't our favorite, but hey, we are from the deep south. Nobody makes biscuits like we do in the South. My hubby thoroughly enjoyed his coffee. I don't eat a lot of breakfast food because it makes me sick. The waitress recommended hashbrowns to me with onions, cheese, and bacon....PERFECT. It was wonderful. The restaurant itself was a tiny funky little diner. It had some really cool (somewhat shocking) decor. It was a fun ambiance. Our service was excellent. The prices were extremely reasonable (definitely much cheaper than most other places we found in Seattle.) I would HIGHLY recommend this fun little joint to anyone in the area.

I was so happy to see this place right down the street from where I was staying. If you like quaint, throwback diners, then this is your place. I went twice for breakfast. Quick service, friendly servers, lots of attention to tables. Would go back for dinner next time I visit the area as well.

After reading some good reviews about Cafe Mecca I walked here for breakfast this morning, it was close to my hotel. It definitely has a true diner feel about it, looks exactly liked you’d imagine. My waitress was very friendly, but she seemed frazzled, perhaps they were understaffed... I ordered a waffle and it wasn’t anything to write home about. I used a ton of syrup to bring the waffle to life, but it didn’t really work. Mecca has been in Seattle forever. One of the originals. However the history of Cafe Mecca doesn’t make it a great Cafe.

We ate breakfast here twice on our short stay in Seattle pre cruise. The food was delicious and there was lots of choice on the menu. Highly recommend

Good food , right down the street from our hotel Reminded us of a retro spot. Service was good seemed like only 2 waitstaff They have a huge selection of bloody Mary’s. (Yum) Food served hot & delish.

A classic diner with dive bar vibes--it's discouraging to read other reviews after dining here. It's a really efficiently run place. Service was prompt, kind and food was delicious. And it their menu says they pay their employees well so that is all the more reason to eat here!

I liked this place a lot until my last night there. The staff Jamie Sober and the guy with short hair were Uber friendly and I had a great time with them The mood was soured by an ageing old hippy with an extra dose of misery who was tending bar on the Friday before new year. He was rude and objectionable and had more than a passing resemblance to Cat Weazel. At his age I am not sure bar work is appropriate which maybe the reason for his Mecca misery.

This isn't a horrible place for food, but the guy that waited on us was incredibly rude. Literally, threw our menus on the table and rolled his eyes and walked away when we told him we needed a few more minutes. The.worst.service.ever!

Got here and was seated quickly, but it took 5+ min for them to give us a menu..only to then be given the menu & immediately asked what we wanted. We hadn't been here before, so we wouldn't have known what we wanted...hence the menu. Finally were able to order, then food came out quickly, but took a while to get syrup with our meal. Pancakes were tough, but waffle was good. The best part of the meal was the bacon - crisp and juicy!! Our server just didn't come by very often. She seemed to be focusing on other parts of the restaurant and not our section (I think she was waiting on the whole restaurant). Also the bathroom doors didn't have locks or even close really, soap was in a ketchup style squeeze bottle, and no paper towels (blow-dry thing didn't work either). Overall, don't plan on visiting again. We had just gotten in from a very long flight and had not eaten for a while, and were craving breakfast. Better service would have been much appreciated to help us feel better from our travels.

Great food and a unique dining experience. There were 3 of us total and we all enjoyed our breakfast. I got the country fried steak and it was massive and delicious.

This is an old-style diner that's a bit run down, but it had lots of atmosphere. The food and service were both good. The server was super friendly and told us about the diner's history -- it was opened in 1930 and is one of the oldest bars in Seattle. We went on a weekday morning, and there were only a couple of other people there, but I can imagine it being busy at other times.

What a great breakfast place! A real diner with booths, counter service and NIN blasting from the kitchen. Totally authentic Seattle. Be sure to try #4 with bacon.

Mecca claims to have Seattle's biggest portion of chicken fried steak, heck I'd give it USA's biggest if I could. The gravy is good, creamy and tasty. The chicken fried steak is a bit too dry for me. Given its size, it reminds me of Texas in the drought season. Service definitely needs some love and improvement. We were seated all the way in the back behind the bar for 10 min without anyone serving us. We then asked to be seated at the counter and it did take some time to get the server's attention. If there is next time, I would just order a dish and share with someone given the portion size.

Wandered over and found this spot after a Seattle Storm game. Super friendly bartend/server, fed our family of four (two teenage boys). Good food, decent prices as well.

Yummy food. They were short handed the morning we ate there but the waitress was working hard to seat people and take orders. We had a yummy cinnamon roll for an appetizer and the chocolate peanut butter pancakes were delicious.

We originally walked right by this place. But down the street a guy at Starbucks insisted they had great food! He was right. It was a good breakfast and the inside is great. Good music playing. Overall it was a great experience and we'll be back when we visit again.

Food was ok, but quite overpriced. Example: I ordered toast with my breakfast and paid $2.35 for a single piece of toast.

The atmosphere of this cafe is very chill! It was my first time here and was recommended by the hotel manager where I was staying at. The service was excellent!! I love cafe's and this place is definitely on my list to eat when I visit Seattle. I Love chilli cheese fries, but I never seem to find good ones @ cafe's because they taste too much like canned meat! Not @ Mecca's Cafe! I'm glad I listened to my girlfriend when she said she wanted Chilli cheese fries cause man! were they delicious! Great place to hang out and eat!

I live nearby but have not been here in over 15 yrs. Wanted basic food tonight. Stopped in for open face Turkey sandwich with mashers and gravy. Was pleasantly pleased. Turkey piled high, decent amount of potatoes and got a little extra gravy. Very good. The real pleasure was a real friendly server. She enjoyed dealing with people and was super efficient. I would come back just because of her. But the food was totally worth it too. Bonus

Haven't eaten here in many years. It was a nice surprise to taste the goodness again. Best fries in town. Better than Dick's which is right next door. Service was great and the price was right. Even saw one of my coasters on the wall from 1994!!

Their menu says it all - "Not great food, just a great diner". If you crave stepping into the past, just open the door to this cave - where everything probably dates back to when it was legal to smoke inside. Run and patronized by what looked liked heavy drinkers and smokers, I began to wonder if other unsavoury appetites might be catered to in the back room. To be fair, my waitress was really nice and skillfully helped me navigate the menu to create the breakfast I was looking for. But, in doing so, she had to apologize that the waffles they talked up on the menu were not available because the waffle iron was out for repair. I went for the french toast instead but it was only mediocre. I asked for a side of blueberries I spied elsewhere on the menu and she warned me they were the frozen supply kind they used in pancakes. I asked her to nuke them. She thought that was brilliant. But what I ate was only warm, cardboard imitation blueberries. The sausage patty was good flavor, but small portion. My waitress kept me topped up with coffee and the table was stocked with real h/h cups, but, wow, it was strong, bitter, sour - which conjured images of the old days when coffee came in big foil bags supplied by Boyds, ground with industrial precision to unnatural gold brown flakes, dripped into those big glass bulb carafes that cooked away on the hot plate all afternoon. Although the cash register area is so cluttered it probably qualifies as an archeological treasure, the bathroom was spick and span. I saw someone else pay in cash. I hope it was safe to pay with my credit card. The meal was inexpensive even with extras.

Old time urban neighborhood diner with lots of unique character. We had very good breakfast omelets served by friendly staff. Very attentive to celiac/gluten free.

Just a few blocks from the Maxwell Hotel, serving good food in a clean cafe/bar combo. Service was excellent, fun ambiance and good food.

Ate here two mornings in a row. The happy hour breakfast is the best (6-9am) with prices you can’t beat. My husband loved the basic breakfast and the French toast was amazing, too some of the best I have had). The eggs bennies were good too. Love the dive bar feel too.

I've had breakfast here a couple of times now. It is your typical diner kind of restaurant with all the normal diner atmosphere. One row of booths and a row of seats at a counter. The breakfast has been good, solid food. Coffee was good. The homemade corn-beef hash was a little different from what I would have expected out of homemade... the corn-beef was not chunks, but ground. However, flavor was good and the hash was good. They have very good toast. Really, couldn't ask for more. Service was good.

Good food, waitress was awesome. Love little hole in the wall places. Was great to get a Caeser, usually can only get Bloody Marys and as a Canadian....just doesn't compare (sorry). Ask about their T-shirts :)

We found this gem while in Seattle before our cruise to Alaska. We had the best breakfast! When we got back from our cruise we went back for breakfast again! We were served by Patrick the first day and Derrick and the owner the second time!

Four of us went for dinner during our stay in Queen Anne. The boths are extremely tight. The restaurant is dated and quirky. The food is average at best. Two of the four were not impressed with their food while the other two enjoyed theirs. The drinks were good and the service adequate; there weren't many of us in the diner and she seemed to disappear for 10 minutes in a stretch. Don't have your expectations too high and everything will be fine.

It was a walking distance from our hotel and highly rated in the Yelp. It's not in the best area, but the food was worth it! We ate there twice which we normally don't do when in vacation, as we always try to checkout new places.

This was one of my recent tries for breakfast near our new condo in Seattle. If you are in the Queen Anne or Bellport areas, this is close to you. Aside from the name, which is pretty exotic and mysterious, this is another of those bar cum cafe/eateries (like the 5 Point Cafe) which is rough and ready and has a good assortment of items. I was in here last week and found a server running her feet off, some sleepy customers, and quite a bit of take-out going out the door. Personally, I found the bar here interesting and atmospheric. Brekkies (the usual eggs and sides for me) was good and I read a local paper while I waited. Everyone was wearing a mask. Someone next to me was having a beer with breakfast, but hey, that's fine too. The server was observant and fast-moving, thanks. There was a small line at the door when I left, so I would recommend getting here early if you want breakfast. $15 for the usual stuff for brekkies. Bon appetit!

it was a very good place to eat breakfast near hotel. highly recommend it. looks like a greasy spoon but its good food.

While staying at the MarQueen Hotel, we ate here. It was great! Diner food. Serves breakfast all day, which is awesome. The chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes is the perfect comfort food! Great prices as well!

This is now the best Chicken Fried Steak I have ever had and I thought I had the best before. This dive bar/restaurant is near the Mediterranean Inn in Seattle...only a block away if that and near the Key Arena/Space Needle. They are a local restaurant that has been around for 50+ years if not longer. They are open from 7am to 2-3am I believe. Walking distance of Key Arena as well. This is one of the best places I have had breakfast in my 49 years on this planet. I recommend this as a must visit for breakfast when in this area of town.

This is a great community diner! Great choices of breakfasts, good coffee, excellent service and reasonable prices.

When I was a young girl, my father worked nearby the Mecca and we would come here sometimes for lunch. The booths were red glitter with yellow tables. When I was a teen I came here with my friends for dinner and my boyfriend would order the "Hunter's Plate" loaded with ham steak, bacon, sausauge, etc...and we would enjoy the retro ambiance of the place. Then I went to the Mecca on my first date with my husband in 1993. By then it had become a popular "dive bar" and re-invented itself with dark booths, checked floors and so much smoke you could hardly see through the room. Tonight my husband and I were there - and the Mecca continues to be a popular late night bar and cafe. Fortunately for us it's not as crazy as it was 25 years ago. We ate diner breakfasts (less than $12 for a full breakfast, and you can get a plain burge w/ small fries for $6) and we drank quite a bit...Mecca makes strong drinks. Don't bother ordering a double...they'll wonder where you're from. My 7&7s were only $8 each!! Service was excellent - our waiter was a doll and hyper multi-tasking. The Mecca is one of the last slices of old Seattle that's left for me to enjoy. Thank you for still being here!

Thought this place would be fine, but that proved to be a mistake. Once seated we ordered our coffee and place our order. We waited and waited for the coffee to arrive. When the food was brought to our booth, it wasn't our order, still NO coffee. When our correct food order arrived, we had to again our coffee. In the mean time, the waitress with the blue / green hair started yelling at the customers in the next booth, and denied changing their food order. Apparently she was let out of rehab way toooo early. And forget the coffee refill. Not recommending this place to anyone!

Stopped in for breakfast. Many choices for breakfast items. The portions were very generous and the food was delicious! Service was efficient and friendly.

This place looks like it could be a prime candidate for Diner's, Drive-Ins, and Dives with Guy Fiere. It is that kind of hole-in-the-wall place with a really cool, diverse menu that executes the food well. We ordered some classic diner fare and it did not disappoint. The prices are reasonable and service was great. I really enjoyed they brought my root beer in a mini-pitcher. That was fun. The downside: the booths are tiny and the seating is cramped.

Early breakfast with a friend. The place wasn't busy and the food was decent. Didn't notice there was a 5% service fee added to the bill, and left a 20% tip on top of that. Definitely need to pay more attention to fine prints in this town.

Mecca Cafe is the only full service breakfast place within close proximity to our hotel. When we arrived we could see the very small booth area was full & when asked , we declined to sit at the counter. The one & only hostess/waitress brought us to the other side (bar area?) that had several tables. I wish I got the young African-American lady’s name because she truly worked her butt off & despite the crowd managed to serve everyone in a timely manner. The restaurant is older & could use some updating but the food was good (omelets with an abundance of hash browns).

Had my first breakfast in Seattle at this restaurant. Not bad! Let’s talk food first: we had Salmon Benedicts as well as Florentine Benedict’s and both were outstanding (particularly the Salmon, real chunks of real salmon...fresh, incredible taste).Large portions!!!!!!!! No frills though....no fancy muffins or whole wheat pancakes...just good old fashioned “meat and potatoes” kind of place. Service was fine....too relaxed for my taste but this is a very relaxed place.

We had breakfast there twice. It was very very good. The gas browns were delicious. Everything was good except didn’t care for the coffee. It didn’t come hot enough either b

Cute diner! We ordered a burger and the turkey club which were both mediocre at best but the service was excellent.

A wonderful dive bar with excellent food. The tiny bar has counter seating or comfy booths. The food exceeded my expectations and the drinks were perfect and old school. The bartender was lovely. She was efficient, funny and friendly. And to top it all off, the bathroom was the cleanest bar bathroom I’ve ever seen. I would definitely go here again.

I ate at this cafe for 4 days straight for breakfast. The portions are large and very reasonably priced. The wait staff was friendly and fun

We came here for dinner and our waitress was wonderful. The menu was good and was happy that they had fresh roasted turkey on the menu. Sadly the turkey was on the dry side with not much flavor. The french fries were good and freshly cut from potatoes.

If you want a normal cooked breakfast, this is a great place to go but can be busy so I suggest going quite early. Unlimited filtered coffee, reasonably priced - there is nothing to dislike about this place! It is down-to-earth and not fancy but it is the only cafe that does a proper cooked breakfast in the vicinity. I would recommend.

This was close to our hotel, and we came here hoping for a crab Benedict, but they don't serve that anymore, so we did the salmon Benedict, breakfast burrito, chicken fried steak, and uptown slam. The portions were generous, especially the slam. The Sourdough toast was a great feather to any breakfast. Good bloody Marys. Cost is reasonable compared to many places in Seattle. Our server was excellent. We would definitely eat here again.

This place is always busy but worth the wait. I had the hash and eggs and they are large and great. My wife had the waffle made by the waitress and it was nice a crispy. My wife like her eggs pouched and they made them perfect. Some places will not pouch your eggs. We always come here when we are in Seattle as it is great

A very Cool breakfast diner! The food is always good - coffee, waffle, pancakes, eggs, and cooked to perfection. Waitstaff was pleasant and the vibes are fun.

This has been my go to place for diner food for over 25 years. Breakfasts, served all day, include eggs Benedict on proper English muffin, quality bacon and sausage. They have all the diner standards and they're all good. Full bar.

This diner was recommended by our hotel. It was a little grungy and dark but sometimes the greasy spoon has the best food. We were 3 couples, we asked the waiter Samuel, if we could each have separate bills and he said he could only do 2 bills, we said ok. He took our order, we didn't wait too long, our food came out, it just wasn't very hot. My husband had asked for decaf coffee with milk & honey, he said he was brewing a new pot, he never came back, We asked another server for the coffee and he said he would tell our server, yeah good luck with that, he finally came back with the coffee about 10 minutes later and was like, yo I'm sorry, I got busy and forgot about you guys. We asked for the milk & honey again and by time he came back with it, the coffee was cold, He apologized and said he would take the coffee off of the bill, which he didn't, he gave us an .87 cent discount and the coffee was $3.49. We then asked for our checks and he returned with everything on 1 check. He said he forgot to give us 2 checks. Well, after trying to figure out the bill, we realized he added a 20% tip for himself because it was a group of 6. When I went to pay the bill, I told him that was some shady stuff he pulled on us, he knew he was going to add the automatic tip, that's why he didn't want to give separate checks. He definitely was not worth 20%. How does your server forget you??? He became very indignant and said to read the menu, it's listed, there is a 20% tip for groups of 6 or more. He then told me never to return to this store and that I was being disrespectful. I told him again that what he did was shady and not to worry, I wouldn't be back!!!

Great value breakfast and portions so big they set you up for the day. An authentic diner experience and had two breakfasts here. Good options for vegetarians and meat eaters alike.

This quirky cafe/bar is a real gem. I was referred to it while staying at the nearby Mediterranean Inn and it was a good one. Service was fast on the time I visited (around 9 am on a Saturday) and the portions were not only large they were superb. The bacon was probably the best I have ever had. Large portions and just perfectly prepared -- not too crisp, not too fatty. The scrambled eggs were light and served at the perfect temperature. I also had two pancakes in the order -- which were massive and light ... again -- perfectly prepared. Service was very pleasant from the welcome upon arrival to the waitress who seemed to have worked there for a while (in a good way), calling one of her patrons by his first name. Sign of a great place. A terrific restaurant and I will be back here next time I'm in Seattle.

Recommended by hotel staff, and they were right! Had the best burger and fries in years at very reasonable prices. Great service. Huge portions.
Mixed experience
My husband's eggs benedict was great. My salmon benedict had a chunk of eggshell and wasn't prepared well (eggs overcooked, wrong type of salmon). The staff were very friendly and helpful.
