Healthy mediterranean food

By KARIELIS M |

Healthy fare by compare to the options. The menu is simple and straightforward. Pleasant and prompt service. Least crowded. Clean counters. Fresh food, good portions, well prepared, and palatable. Prices were reasonable.

GREAT!

By Tom M |

I love good Mediterranean food and this place is on my 'must return to' list if I'm every in the Atlanta/Decatur area again.

Dinner

By Natassia A |

Nice food, good quality, great salad and dips but the actual portion of chicken kebab was 1 skewer. Should have been 2. But i guess the price balanced that out.

Good Gyro!

By soitgoes14 |

We stopped in for lunch to go and enjoyed a solid Gyro and their potatoes. Both were really good. Service is what you would expect. I would not hesitate to go back.

Best Greek in Atlanta

By ATLBuckeyeGirl |

This is one of my favorite go-to spots for Greek. The food is fresh and fabulous! The service is great - they generally remember me when I come back. :) The food is fresh, the service is excellent, you get your food quickly and to top it off...it will not break the bank. One of my favorite places to go for lunch!

Yum!!

By Cocktails_at_Seven |

Authentic Greek fast and delish!! Close to piedmont park and shops and stores. Go Greek the sauces here are just incredible.

Very tasty and generous portions

By WeLikeToWander |

Great food at a decent price - tried the combination platter - excellent! Staff was courteous and food was delivered quickly and fresh. Just down the street from a Trader Joe's so a twofer!

Best lunch spot

By jaime w |

The Business lunch special gets you a good sample of 3 different meats, rice, salad, and pita. It's all awesome and the price is right! The gyro meat is my favorite, and don't miss the potatoes! All the other menu items are great too...it's a good place to stop!

Excellent gyro!

By Dawn W |

I couldn't make up my mind, so I went with the combination feast. The gyro was amazing.... none of that dry, black crust you get sometimes. It was tender and juicy and very flavorful. The steak was also quite good, no fat in it at all. I had never had kufta and had no idea what to expect, but it was quite tasty as well. It's about the size of a sausage link, and very well seasoned. Their tzatziki was delicious too. I'll absolutely be back!

Great Food

By David B |

Wonderful dolmas, baba ghanoush and pita bread in a small, secluded restaurant. Order at the window and they deliver it to your table.

Meh.

By KGodinez |

The meal was just not memorable. It was just okay. The platter didn't come with anything other than a salad and rice and pita. In other Mediterranean restaurants I've visited, they included baba ganoush and or hummus. Just disappointing both in what was included and in the flavors. Cannot recommend.

A huge lunch and a drink on a weekday for less than $8!

By panpanda |

How does the Mediterranean Grill do it? Gyro meat, pita bread, two other delicious kinds of beef, a green salad, yellow rice, and a soft drink for a weekday lunch for less than $8. The food just wasn't inexpensive--it was delicious! The only reason I could eat it all is I was starving. I look forward to returning and trying the rest of their menu items.

Consistent

By VGR001 |

We live close by and frequently eat lunch here on weekends. The food is consistently good with generous portions. The dining area is clean, but the area by the restrooms and kitchen in the rear needs attention.

Reliable gyro stop

By RockstarAtlanta |

This is the place I go to when I am in the mood for gyro. I didn't try other menus so I can't say much. But, I always take out b/c the interior is pretty dirty and I feel like I want to leave as soon I get my food.

Falafels!

By Academics17 |

I had lunch at the Mediterranean Grill in East Cobb. I ordered the vegetarian sandwich, which is about the same as the falafel sandwich with a few more ingredients. They didn't label it so my sister and I couldn't tell which was which...but we enjoyed both of them, so it's safe to say it was very good. The potatoes that come with the plates are delicious. I would eat here again, especially after a day of shopping in the plaza.

Pretty Good for Fast Food

By COBB64 |

Stopped in here after a festival at Piedmont Park. It's fast food, but it is a bit healthier. We had the gyros platter with a cup of lentil soup. The gyro plate came with some basmati rice and salad. Soup was very hot, but a bit watery. The place is a touch small inside, but there is limited outdoor seating...

Great Greek food

By Mike M |

Me and my family love this place! The kids love the kabobs and Greek potatoes. I had the gyro platter and all was great. Best Greek restaurant in Atlanta my far.

Dinner

The Shoah kabobs, the vegetarian plate, the baba ganoush, pistachio baklava are always so good. Everything I have tried here is good. Good service. Nice looking staff. One of my favorite go-to places!

Decent gyros near Piedmont Park

By Jim W. |

My wife and I met a friend to see a movie nearby. We had arrived early enough to grab lunch, so this was the venue we settled on. None of us had eaten here previously. They share a small parking lot with 2 - 3 other businesses. It appeared quite busy (in terms of cars) while we were there. We had parked at the theater's lot and just walked over. It is located about a block from the SE corner of Piedmont Park. You enter and turn right, then follow the wall around to the cash register. They have a couple of large menu boards on the wall. You order here and they put your food out on a table outside the kitchen for you to pick up. The menu was not huge, but had sufficient options within the 'Mediterranean' range. One of our group got a full gyro platter while the other 2 just got a gyro wrap. Two of us liked the food well enough; my wife wasn't a fan. Her wrap was pretty tough (in fairness, mine was slightly tough as well). Aside from that, I thought the wrap was okay. They provide two small cups of sauce to each patron. They had the traditional tzatziki sauce and also some spicy brown sauce. I added dabs of each between bites and liked the flavor. That said, we have a good Pita place (or two) much closer to where we live, so I don't think I'd make a special trip to Midtown to eat here. If you are in this general area and are craving a gyro, this is a decent choice.

Small place, delicious food.

By trainstar5 |

I was following my GPS and this place was in it. Once, I found it, it's in a small strip mall, I'm happy to say, glad I did. Very tasty and service was pretty good.. We had the hummus, fried calamari, grilled jumbo shrimp and the combination feast platter. By the way, I should have mentioned, reasonable prices, as well. Place is clean, service is good and the food, some of the best tasting dishes around. This is a definitely go back to spot.

Good food, nice workers, and fast service

By Saraland |

Thumbs upppp. I love Greek style food so I'm biased, but I think anyone could find something they like there. The meal sizes are perfect- not to big or small- for the right price. I recommend it!

Good food, Good Value

By James L |

I come her for lunch and I always get the business lunch. The lunch includes three different kinds of meat, salad, rice and drink; all under $8. The staff is nice and the food comes out fast. If you are looking for a quick lunch and cheap, the Mediterranean Grill is your place.

Authentic Greek-like selection

By Gary G |

Everything tastes great here- I get the lunch special with assorted greek meat and add a falafel for texture. Great place - inexpensive, fast service.. Im going tomorrow again!!

Good midtown eats

By Jarred F |

Food is great. Service is always quick. Never have to wait. Prices are fair. Nice amount of Mediterranean selection.

Great Falafel

By TrishaMarie |

Everything looked very appetizing . I ordered falafel and it was delicious. Everything was freshly made to order. Friendly service.

Great little restaurant - right beside Piedmont Park

By Stephanie D |

My husband and I had lunch here last Sunday and we were pleasantly surprised. The gyro plate was plentiful and the meat was so tender and tasty!! The service was quick and to top off an excellent meal -- I had a delicious piece of walnut baklava. YUM. The only reason I didn't give the restaurant 5 stars was because it could have been cleaner -- especially since they weren't that busy at 3 pm in the afternoon.

Good Falafel

By Jennifer Groysman |

We went here for lunch while visiting the city. The place is small, and you order at the counter. I had the Falafel Sandwich, which is falafel wrapped in pita. I also had the hummus. My daughter had the Lentil soup. Everything was good. I loved their hummus. If you are in the area and want a fast lunch, I would recommend you go here.

Excellent Food

By Redrobin1115 |

The food was great, cooked well and to perfection. The only thing is you have to get there before 9:00pm otherwise you will have to take your food to go. The customer service was good and they give excellent directions on how to find them.

Good Mediterranean Food!

By CaptTrouble |

We ordered delivery from this restaurant. Our food was delivered in about half the time stated and well before we were notified that the order was out for delivery. We ordered two Combination Feasts ($12.50 ea.), a large side of Hummus ($6.65), a Baklava Walnut ($1.95), and a Baklava Pistachio ($1.95). The Combination Feast is a dinner that includes a salad, Kufta Kabob (ground beef), Shish Kebab (1 large piece of grilled steak), and gyro shavings (beef-lamb), on a bed of lightly seasoned rice. We got one Feast with Tzatziki Sauce, the other with Tahini Sauce, and both with Hot sauce. Pita bread also comes with the Feast as well as with the order of Hummus. For our order the food subtotal was $35.55, the sales tax $3.34, Delivery Fee $2, Donation to a Children’s Hunger charity (round up) $.98, plus tip. It wasn’t cheap but we wanted Mediterranean and this brought us quite a bit of food. The description of the Combination Feast says it has “[A] generous portion of shish kabob, kufta kabob, and gyros slices.” It was generous on the gyro slices and the one piece of kufta was long. There was only one piece of shish kabob. Also the shish kabob and kufta kabob were very well done, almost tough, but they had good flavor. The gyro meat, rice, and pita were all good. We noted that everything could have used more bad-for-you sodium as almost everything had a very light flavor. The salad was very fresh and had good flavors. The hummus was very good and had an almost whipped consistency. It was good on the pita. The pita was tender and not dry at all. Both baklavas were excellent (we split them). Both were packed with minced nuts; the walnut had quite a bit more honey in it. Even though the walnut baklava was more done I liked it better. The pieces are small but they pack a wallop of flavor. Spend the $1.95 to get one!

Perfect for a Quick Lunch

By SandBAtlanta |

Love this place for a quick, delicious lunch. We usually get the kebabs or kofta and a side of hummus. They have excellent hummus! Food is authentic and very reasonably priced. There's no way you'll leave hungry!

HUGE lunch, including drink, for less than $8!

By panpanda |

Hungry? And thrifty? The Mediterranean Grill is the place to go, especially at lunchtime. I couldn't believe this enormous "business lunch" with a salad, rice, pita bread, several kinds of meat, and a drink for under $8. Not just inexpensive food, but really good food.

Superb Mediterranean Food From a Nice Turkish Family

By ATLconsultant |

This place has the best Mediterranean food in Atlanta for the price. Their gyro is delicious, but their steak shish kabob is a differentiator. Try it: it's out of this world yummy. I've tried almost their entire menu and like all of it (except the babaganoush, which is too smoky for me). Their lunch special (3 different types of meat with Mediterranean rice and salad PLUS soft drink) is the best lunch deal in Atlanta: huge portion and just under $7.00. I'm not a big lamb fan, but for some reason last week I felt like eating some lamb. I had heard Med Grill did an excellent lamb, so I thought, "Why not? Lamb shank is just $11.00)." Let me tell you: regardless of price, this was the most tender and delicious lamb shank I've ever eaten. Not gamey in the least. Perfectly seasoned and awesomely tender. I was shocked and ecstatic at the same time. So....good. The guys who work there are also very efficient and nice. I say "guys" because I've never seen a woman work there.

Good, cheap...worth trying

By evac93rd |

This place is a gem of a Greek restaurant. There are 3 locations, we go to the one at 2126 North Decatur Road but there are also midtown and East Cobb locations. The Gyros, salads, potatoes and kabobs are all tasty and the portions are huge. The prices are very low, a dollar goes a long way here.

Excellent choice!

By hdfrompbfl |

We were looking for some Greek food, my Bro-in-law is Greek, born and bred! We had originally planned to go to another restaurant, but the ladies were not happy with the looks of it. You can never tell with these things! Anyway....looked in Tripadvisor and came up with this little gem. Ordered the Dolmas and Hummus which were very good. The gyro and vegetarian plates were good and my lambshank was excellent. There is NO table service and you have to get your own drinks, food AND clean your table!! If you can live with that you should enjoy a nice meal. Hard to put a rating on that down below!! Comparable to going into your local pizza joint! I would definitely go back again. We enjoyed everything we had and went on our way happy and contented!

Excellent and always consistent

By Al E |

this is one of the best kept secrets in Atlanta. Excellent mediterranean, The quality is always spot on. The portions are very generous, which is difficult in this economy. An absolute “go to”

Eat In or Delivery - Awesome Food

By ClemsonTiger1996 |

Good Greek

By DuaneH320 |

Went with my wife and an associate. Each of us got some thing different. We had no complaints. Price was good and food was even better. Will go again next time in Atlanta.

Meat is tasteless and disgusting

By Galadriel14 |

This place has good prices and they seem to be nice but I ordered a gyro and the meat was disgusting. At first I couldn't tell because it was masked with the toppings, but I pulled out a piece on it's own and have really never had anything so bad from a restaurant. It had no taste and the texture was awful. I threw the whole thing away.

Don't leave the property, you will be charged $75 dollars

By C Gong |

We have dinner here and we were very full so we went out for a walk. When we came back, our cars are locked and charged for $75 dollars. The guard told us"I saw you left but I can't tell you because I'll lose my job if I do so." We understand that is private property but it is also for business use. The company is just trying to make people pay. So please be careful next time.

Pretty decent Medi food

By peacefulperfection |

Chicken and rice dish was spicy and fairly good; the hummus was delicious. The baklava was soggy both top and bottom. I prefer my phyllo dough to be crispy at least on the top. The service was fast and efficient. It is almost unfair to rate a place based on just one dish and dining experience but our food experience was just okay. Perhaps they soar at other dishes. We got our car booted outside the restaurant on accident which did not top things off well for us. The guy apologized and unbooted it, but it was still an annoyance.

OK, But Not Great

By Jeremy C |

Had lunch here today for the first time. While the portions were plentiful, the food was pretty bland, and the place was pretty dirty, with paper on the floor. We also weren't impressed with their 81 health rating.

Okay.

By Miicha04 |

I just left the restaurant and I am disappointed to say that I was not as enthused as I expected to be. I picked this restaurant because I just got back from Dubai and had had some excellent Mediterranean food there. I ordered the Jerusalem salad, the Pita and Tzatziki, Calamari and a slice of Baklava. The Baklava was the best thing I ate. The calamari was fried well but it was quite salty. So were the salad and the sauce. It was an entirely too salty meal. My friend had the chicken gyro and felt like her chicken was not seasoned enough. I know my review will stand out among all the glowing reviews on here. However in spite and despite that, normally I would give a restaurant like this another try but I don't think I will in this case. Maybe for the baklava.

Captures the flavors of the Mediterranean region

By William T |

I ordered food from Mediterranean Grill on Zifty and became a fan, so when I saw a Groupon I snatched it up. Eating at the restaurant was what I expected, even better than its takeout version. My favorite items are the kabob entrees and the gyro platter – tasty grilled meat, a generous portion of rice, dressed salad and pita bread. Sandwiches are huge with meat, lettuce and tomato in a pita wrap. Greek potatoes are also tasty and very popular. They do a good job of capturing the flavors of the region with foods anchored in different countries (Greece, Egypt, Israel, Lebanon). The first night I was there at least half the customers were of Mediterranean or Middle Eastern descent. When an ethnic restaurant draws an ethnic crowd it’s usually a sign of authentic, good food. And that’s what you’ll find at Mediterranean Grill.

Good food

By SwatiAJ |

The place is generally very crowded. very difficult to get a seat. order takes time as its always crowded and many people are waiting for takeout. but food is worth the wait.

Fresh food at a great price

By Puneet |

This is an excellent place for fresh and healthy middle eastern cuisine. My partner and I frequent their midtown location quite often. Although, the layout is simple, the food and the service are excellent. Our favorites are the Chicken kabob plate, and the Greek salad. Both come with a generous side of fresh pita bread. The food is always fresh, and the prices reasonable as compared to other restaurants in the area. Highly recommended!

Good cheap Greek

By Plumberandy |

Tasty Greek food near trader joes in Atlanta. The gyros are very large and filling. You can get it with a salad for an extra buck. Good deal, good food with no frills.

Excellent Medditeranean food at good prices

By Losmanq |

Love their shish-ka-bob platter. Steak is very tender and tasty. The chicken ka-bob is also good. Fried potatoes are tasty as is the salad that usually comes with the platter. One of my favorite places for lunch.

Tasty Underrated Gem

By NDM827 |

I come here periodically for falafel, hummus, etc. and especially for the kufta kabob plate, which is one of my top favorite takeout dishes. Ditto the grilled vegetables: they are amazing! I also dine in sometimes. Oh, and the cubed Greek Potatoes are a must, with the fantastic tzatziki sauce, mmmmmmmmm! Staff is friendly and helpful, and service is usually pretty quick. Highly Recommended.

Amazing

By AzinGol |

Med Grill has the best food and it's soooo cheap! This is one of my favorite places to eat in Atlanta and I try to get it at least once a month! It's nothing fancy nor is it trying to be. Amazing food! Greek salad is great too! Can't go wrong by eating here.

Meat items overdone for lunch

By John D |

The lunch special for $8.40 includes a lot of food, but the various meats items were really over done when we ate there. Had that not been the case it would have been OK. I think they keep them cooking or recook them too often, they were really dried out. The rest was OK, nothing special though.

Good mediterranean food

By Thomas1406 |

We went to this place for lunch as we wanted something else than burgers and pizza for once. The place is really fast food as it took about 5 seconds from we placed the order until we god the mixed grill lunch plate we had ordered. This isnt necessarily a good thing as you can question when the food has been made, but it tasted good although some of the meat maybe was a little dry. A nice place though!
