Meehans was no different. Very friendly staff who gave us directions. Cozy atmosphere. The lobster bisque and handmade chips hit the spot as did the cold Harp.

We arrived close to nine pm on a Saturday night. The place was crowded and we anticipated a long wait for our group of nine. We were immediately seated in one of the back rooms in the restaurant. Since it was so late, we decided to try every appetizer they had instead of going for a heavy meal. They have a TON of appetizers on their menu and all were good. The fried pickles were awesom and a very generous helping. The deviled eggs were good, but only three on the plate. Wings - excellent, Rubeun eggrolls - crazy good! The spinach artichoke dip needed about twice as many chips to use the dip. Nachos, chicken fingers and pretzel were all tasty. Service was great. We were not rushed from the place and were happy we went. Definitely worth stopping by.

My brother supports Tottenham who were playing Liverpool the Saturday we were there, I mailed their facebook account prior to going, who told me the game would be shown, however when we got there, the property was all locked up. We walked past on the Monday, on arriving we asked if the Bar was showing the Soccer game, the sarcastic reply was "it's on every channel" not quite sure, how we were meant to know this as all the screens were showing an ad break. Beer was decent, but due to above would not recommend.

One of my favorites is fish and chips. I normally eat here for lunch because of the wait time at dinner. Enjoy!

I was recently in Atlanta for the Super Bowl and staying at the Westin. I tried a bunch of different places, but Meehan's was one I visited a couple times. The location was really central, the people/service was great and the beer was really cold! The food was good too. Nice spot!

I learned a valuable lesson at Meehan's in that the T and H in Smithwick's aren't typically pronounced. This revelation saved me the embarrassment and lecturing at my next pub visit. Aside from the delicious, full-bodied Smithwick's the deviled eggs are worth mentioning. There were several varieties to choose from and they were a perfect started before jumping into the sandwiches.

Wanted to have some drinks and watch the game and came in here and it didn’t disappoint. We had pretzels and nachos both were fantastic. The drinks were also good and all seating seemed to have a view for the TVs.

Great food and excellent service at this restaurant. Quick service and great place to enjoy with family or friends.

We stopped in for drinks and it was a good experience. Service was efficient and friendly and the place had a great ambiance. Would go back for a meal when in the neighborhood.

Located next to the Westin, and very typical irish bar look. Food was very good, service was excellent. Will go back

My wife, her work partner and I went here for lunch on a Thursday afternoon. We were seated immediately in a booth towards the front with view of the bar’s TV’s. Were were almost immediately welcomed by our server who asked for our drink order. My wife had a German style wheat ale, her friend had a vodka and soda water and I had a Jack and Coke. Both mixed drinks with strong which is a good thing for us and each mixed drink there after was strong as well. The food from appetizers of pretzel bread and Ruben egg rolls were both great. The pretzel was amazing due to its fresh baked appearance and taste. I ordered the bangers and mash and it was delicious. It has three bangers, mashed potatoes mixed with grilled onions, mushrooms and peas. My wife had the shepherds pie and it was also delicious. Our friend had the grilled chicken salad and it was delicious as well. This was our first trip to Atlanta and if we come back and we are in the area, we will come back here again.

My wife and I dined here last night on the fourth day of DragonCon. They had a special menu prepared for the event. Seating was quick and comfortable. Where we sat was quiet and well air conditioned. My wife had a salad, bangers and mash, and two Smithwick ales. I had a burger, mash potatoes, chili, and half/ half tea. The meals were recharging. Service was excellent (better than average compared to other event site restaurants). Prices were reasonable. The was perfect for us exhausted DragonConning geeks. Definitely a repeat for next year!

Good Irish pub. I went for the half and half, Guinness and Harp. Not bad, but kinda weird. Irish coffee was a little too strong. But that's a personal choice. Extra whiskey could please you! The corned beef egg rolls are really good. Especially with the horseradish sauce. Yum. Don't pass them up. We also shared the turkey avocado sandwich. The fried egg on top makes this sandwich a winner! Service was a little slow at spots. Took us a while to ask another employee for our check. Nonetheless, the food is good. Enjoy!

I gain more respect for this place every year. We usually drop in at least once a year during Dragoncon, since it's close by. They are one of the smaller circle of establishments that always seems prepared for the insanity. The staff deserves major kudos. Some of the food isn't quite as tasty as others, but I've found a couple of mainstays that are my go-to dishes. They also have some good drinks and a few specials.

We went because one of our friends is a Meehan. We had good food and great drinks and an excellent server!

I was heading to the airport but wanted to stop for a late, big lunch. The fish & chips (we call it "fish fry" where I'm from ;-)) was awesome! One of the best I've had. The fish was moist and flavorful and the breading was perfect. Fries were warm and tasty. Coleslaw did not disappoint either. As a bonus I ordered Irish soda bread and it was amazing too - toasty and hearty. The service was decent, I probably should have sat at the bar though. I also wish I had room for a brew or two, as the offerings looked good and it would have complemented the meal. Several other dishes on the menu looked good but I was more than satisfied with my choice! Highly recommend!

We did not reserve anywhere to eat on Saturday night (Feb 29th) and had doubts of being able to get in anywhere. We stopped in at Meehan's and the hostess told us about 20-25 minutes for a table. We walked around outside and then received the phone call that our table was ready. Our server was fantastic and our food was delicious. I had the salmon and some of the others in our group had the shepherd's pie. We were all members of the clean plate club! We enjoyed our meal so much that we returned the next day.

Here for a volleyball tournament, had to tru out the bar and food scene here in the ATL! Great rueben egg roll and homemade salt and vinger chips...service could be better, but we get it...1st day of baseball season😊

Meehan's came highly recommended by my hotel desk clerk (who sussed my ethnic heritage and that I was pretty stressed from my day's far-too-lively flight from DC), and it was only a couple blocks from the hotel. The crowd in the place was anything but Irish, but there was Guinness on tap, and the menu included all pub essentials - I settled on shepherd's pie with a big order of fresh-made chips. The wait staff changed shifts in the midst of my visit, but surprisingly they didn't lose track of me - my new waiter sought me out and took my pre-order for a second Guinness, so there were no service lapses or issues getting a check. A good comfort-food choice.

We arrived to late and kitchen was closed. Had a few drinks. The bartender was so fast, incredible service for such a busy place.

Ate once here on a recent trip to Atlanta. Service was good. Can be a little noisy in here as it is functionally a sport bar, but not overly so. Their in-house chips are high in quantity, but really nothing to write home about. The mac & cheese with bacon was a large portion and pretty yummy. A decent tap list and an inventive drink menu, but much of the msot interesting beers are in bottles/cans. That's OK, but servers should ask if customers want a glass instead of just plopping a can down on the table.

SUMMARY - Great food, prompt service, and worth a stop for a pint. DETAILS: My fiancée and I visited twice in one day. We had a late dinner reservation and wanted something to tide us over until then. We were promptly greeted by Abigail (not sure of the spelling) and were given a great table by the window. We split an order of nachos and ordered a couple of pints. Drinks came out quickly and poured properly. The nachos were tasty. The chicken had flavor and was very juicy. Toppings really complemented each other and helped bring lots of flavor to the dish. We also split an order of Bangers and Mash; the sausage was cooked perfectly with a slight crisp. The mash was seasoned and showed signs that it was freshly prepared and not from a box. Seasonings were light but helped elevate the taste of the other ingredients. After dinner we returned for a few drinks to cap the night off; she ordered a "Cool as a Cucumber" and did not enjoy it. Its VERY strong, but to the point of being overpowering. Order a sprite to go with it and you've got a great combo! I stuck with Guinness and it was great. I would suggest a stop and enjoy the decor, the people, and the great food!

We were in Atlanta for the weekend and stayed downtown. Meehan’s was across the street from our hotel. The food was delicious! The buffalo chicken wrap was fantastic! Service was great too. We were seated immediately upon arrival after watching the World Series Parade. Great atmosphere and great food! Highly recommend Meehan’s.

Only visited for a drink a couple of times but the atmosphere was warm and friendly and the menu looked great. Lots of locals eating there so must be good!

A shout out to my waiter, Noah, who not only took great care of my needs and wants, but who fielded a potentially awkward situation that had nothing to do with me (a rowdy patron) with calm patience and tact. The beer choices on draft are thin. In January there should be a slew of porters and stouts on draft— there was only one. The menu is bar-menu and has a decent range of offerings. My burger (fine) and fries (fine) came **really** fast. Samples of beers I wanted to try were generous and sans pressure. Too many televisions for my liking, but the background music was pleasant. All in all, too marks.

Terrible! Arrived on a busy Friday and was told a high top bar table was first come and first served and we were welcomed to it, we were ‘escorted’ away from the table as two very smug patrons stated they were there first (NOT TRUE and they had their name on the waiting list to be seated in the dining room). NEVER again!

Place was packed for the Peach Bowl. Appetizers and drinks were good but our waiter was not very hospitable. Could be just this weekend event but still not an excuse.

We had a great time here for a late dinner (10:00 p.m.). My wife had the BLT with chicken and said it was very good. I had the Meehan Burger and it was also very good. I was surprised by the simplicity of the mashed potatoes but they tasted very good. Why did I rate this Excellent? Becuase of Cooper!! It is worth it to ask to be seated at a table that Cooper is attending. He is awesome! He was very honest about what was good on the menu and what was not as good. We went with his recommendations and did not regret it. However, what makes Cooper so unique and impressive is his graciousness and his willing to help you beyond the norm. Cooper told us about great places to go to for breakfast, and for other meals. His wealth of knowledge regarding other places to eat is impressive. His honesty is why I highly recommend Meehan's Public House -- Downtown and specifically Cooper. Hopefully everyone else is just as nice and willing to help. BTW, the security gaurd was also extremely nice when my wife wanted to take a picture of the interior of the restaurant.

We went to Meehan's twice during our stay in Atlanta and sat at the bar. We loved the beers and the staff there. Tried the combo of Guiness and Smithwicks which was a hit! We ordered the artichoke dip appetizer and it was very good. The Shepards Pie looked extremely good and would order that on our next visit.

I like it here. Typical Irish fare done pretty well. The 7 of us all enjoyed our meals. Shepherds Pie and Bangers and Mash were both really good. It's worth the stop.

We visited on a busy Saturday night. there was a long line out the door. 3 people out/3 people in and so on. it seemed like every seat was filled. we got a great little table in a center room. We ordered chicken tenders, pickle fries and hand cut salt & vinegar chips. even being as busy as it was, our food still came out in a decent time and we enjoyed people watching. this is a really large establishment that can get very busy. Antonio, our server, did a great job making sure we had everything we needed. this was a fun stop and we recommend it.

Which is better atmosphere or taste? Meehan's has both . The Shepherd Pie oozed with tender lamb and scrumptious mashed potatoes. Meehan 's staff were both friendly and attentive. A place to chat with close friends, eat delicious meals, and drink a beer.

It started to rain heavily, so we decided to drop by to Meehan's. Great location less than 15min walk from several different major attractions like World of Coca Cola, Georgia Aquarium, Olympic Park, Skyview etc. Because weather just kept going worse and worse, we ended up being here I guess 1,5-2 hours and took some tasty chicken wings and tenders and few drinks and of course Guinness from draft :)

We were on Peachtree Street and it was dinner time so we thought we would try this place. I had the pan roasted chicken. It was good and tender and the Brussel sprouts were really good. I would eat here again.

Husband was impressed with his Guiness. I tried to order a Cuba Libre, but after 2 tries I just gave up and drank what they gave me. The atmosphere was super cool though. Not too loud; not dead quiet. Cool wood carved beaches and old glass lighting.

On a couple of occasions this week we had occasion to use the bar (one of which was at Patrick’s day). The staff could not have been more welcoming and professional

Very vast beer menu. There’s tons of beers to choose from. Enjoyed the tuna tacos. They were light and healthy. I normally wouldn’t order good like that at an Irish Bar, but it was very good. The servers were all very nice.

Cute Irish pub with large beer menu and nice atmosphere. Tried their meatloaf with mashed potatoes- yummy! Waitstaff friendly and attentive.

We dropped in for a bite to eat and watch some football. Numerous televisions around the bar and an ample supply of draught beers on tap. The food and service was average with reasonable prices.

Good food but watch out for the drinks. $20.90 for a vodka martini? Many high end places only charge $17.

Visiting from South Carolina. Great pub! Large restaurant with a great vibe. Service was quick and efficient. Would recommend this location to anyone looking for casual place to hang with friends.

We had a group of 10 seated at their bar. The servers we quite rude and barely around. At one point we went to the bar to get drinks and when the server finally came back he reprimanded us for going to the bar rather than ordering with him. Very uncomfortable

This Irish pub is in the busy part of downtown Atlanta. You can choose from traditional Irish drink, or a variety of other beers and cocktails we have available. The food is excellent, and the atmosphere is great!

Cosy pub with good global beers. Nice atmosphere and friendly people. We did have some good time. All so possible to eat but we didn’t.

The atmosphere is very similar to what you expect of an Irish pub, however, there isn’t much to choose from in the way of Irish beer, only two. If it’s a pint of Murphy’s, O’Hara’s, Kilkenny, or Five Lamps you are thirsting for, you won’t find them here. I had a salmon that was really done well, the salt and vinegar chips, and a peach salad that was quite large. All of them were good. The downside was that they were served all at once. So, it’s imperative here that is you want a three course meal you specify that to your server. Truly, the downside here is the service, which I experienced as inattentive, unapologetic, and cold.

I only had the Chili here so can't comment on food but the ambience/vibe here is great and the staff very friendly and quality.

Cute little pub. Recommended by the bellhop at the Ritz. I had the Shepherd's Pie and my husband had the Reuben sandwich. Both were excellent! The only disappointment was that the sweet potato fries were not hot, but we didn't ask to have them replaced, so I didn't take off stars. Well worth visiting.

Very nice, comfortable place. My friends and I had a few drinks and chat. It’s a nice place for that.

Nothing special - felt like eating at a Denny’s but at twice the price. It was convenient since it was by our hotel, but if I stay at the Westin in downtown Atlanta again, I will not be eating here.

Very bad and aggressive service, we where 4 colleagues and my wife and therefore asked for a table for 5 instead of 4. We where then approached by a very aggressive employee who aggresively asked us to split up on different tables or leave. We ofcause chose to leave. We really do not understand what we had to be treatened like that 🤔 There are so many nice places in Atlanta, we went to Max Lager's Wood-Fired Grill & Brewery fantastic service, beer and food.

Wanting to be a 4..... a typical pub, with lots of bar food! Had the Ruben rolls which were good. The only thing bringing them down was our service. Could have been better....

I just dropped into this place while walking around downtown Atlanta. Had a super dark ale with THE BEST BURGER THAT I'VE EVER EATEN!!

Stopped for lunch. They were very accommodating with our special orders. Just heads up you will be charged for extra ranch dressing. The wrap I had was great.

I actually visited this place two times during my visit, ordering the fish snd chips both times. Nice portions, not greasy and reasonably priced. Nice selection of drinks!

Nice enough traditional pub with a more unique range of drinks and friendly staff. Decent number of screens behind the bar for keeping up with the sport and the atmosphere is welcoming. For a no fuss drink it’s a good spot!

Cozy pub, casual atmosphere, quick service and great food. We had the fish and chips. Fine portion and not too much. Price quality is good. Regular price

Ridiculously expensive! I only had 3 drinks, 3 American pints or 2.5 English pints and this was £21 including a tip. Or over $28. Pity that they don't have the cheap pub chains that they do in England. I don't know why they expect a tip just for sitting at a bar, that is totally unheard of in England. Atmosphere was ok though and some pretty decent music. No Vegan or Vegetarian food on offer either so definitely will not return.

In town for an appointment and needed a place to hang for a couple hours nearby while waiting. The folks here were Super nice and accommodating. My solo visit became a friends visit when someone was able to join me for a quick lunch!! Food was fantastic, staff was great, service was great! Thanks!! I’ll be back if I’m in Atlanta again.

Good place for a drink or something to eat. The fish and chips are pretty good. Friendly service, but it starts getting busy about 5:30pm.

If you are in the center of downtown Atlanta and you want some Irish food, some Guinness, some Jameson or just want to catch some soccer or rugy games. Meehans is the place to go in this part of downtown. The place seems to go on forever. So getting a table shouldn't except on St. Pats day or any day they are show the world cup. There are rooms and rooms in a narrow long building. Lots if Irish decor. Lots of my Irish favorites like corned beef, fish and chips and some shepherds pie. I only had the corned beef on this day- great sandwich. The staff was super helpful and friendly. Eager to provide some help if you have questions about Atlanta and what to do. It's all about being Irish for a meal. Great place.

I needed a place to stop for dinner and just stopped on in around 6pm. Of course it was packed with business people leaving work, but sat at the bar for a bit and was ignored. Finally after getting the attention of a bar tender was able to place my order. The food selection was average for an Irish pub style restaurant.

An Irish themed pub which on both occasions we visited was full both meals were good and the service was friendly and prompt.

Stopped by for a quick Guinness , very pleasant place with nice staff.. located in downtown Atl,minutes walking for subway and underground Atl

Dinner was exactly as ordered. Surprisingly fast. Hot and good shepherd pie and bangers & mash. It's fairly loud but not impossible to hear each other.

This place has a great atmosphere and the food is decent, but the service I experienced was average. The staff seemed rather uninterrested in me as a solo visitor, paying all their attention to the larger parties (unattentive and not friendly). The food was OK, but not excellent. They do have a good selection of beer and the overall atmosphere of the place makes it worthwhile to visit for a beer or quick snack. Just make sure the staff knows you´re there!

Found this place almost by accident. Unlike many Irish or Irish themed pubs outside Ireland, this place didn't overdo the Irish folksy stuff. Good food (especially mashed potato) and excellent selection of beers. Service was friendly and efficient. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening there.

Great food and drinks. Serving staff attentive. The decor was wonderful. Highly recommend if in the area.

Nice little pub within walking distance of many of the hotels in downtown Atlanta that offers good food and drinks at reasonable prices.

We enjoyed our dinner here. I had read reviews and had high expectations for the shepherds pie. It didn’t disappoint. Very tasty and a large portion. We took some of it back to our hotel for the next day. Also, I recommend the Reuben egg rolls as an appetizer. Crisp and light, they were a perfect nosh before dinner. Great beer list. Great variety. Service is a little slow.

I saw a few reviews and they were somewhat mixed so thought i would take a shot. Sat at the bar very friendly bartender. I ordered a beer and the shepards pie. IT was awesome. Would definitely return

Stopped in for a quick bite to eat and a drink. The "SJP" cosmo was very good. We had the sea salted, in house made chips with ranch, and a cup of lobster bisque and both were very tasty. Service was a little slow, and they were not busy, but still very friendly staff.

What a great dining experience. My Reuben sandwich was amazing. The salmon was just marvelous. My onion rings were off the chain. The wilted spinach and roasted onions made the salmon entree just oh so delicious. All and all a delightful dining experience.

It was the evening of June 3, 2025 after the Metallica Concert at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. My two friends from Germany and l stopped at Meehan's on Peachtree for a quick drink at the bar. I understand being busy. As l asked my friends what they wanted, the Bartender rudely and aggressively stated " l'm very busy. You have to know what you want". Taken aback by his rudeness, l ordered three Guinness beers. My friends approached me and were astonished at the Bartender's rudeness. They wanted to leave. I agreed and we left without receiving our beers. I've been to Meehan's on Peachtree many times. The Bartender's action were unacceptable.

The atmosphere was nice, if a little dark. The service was great, the drinks were nice, and the food was pretty tasty. We ducked in here for a quick bite and drink while we rested and were happy we did. It's well placed around the Downtown/Midtown ATL areas.

This was my first stop on this visit to Atlanta. Beer was cold, service was great and the food was fresh and tasty.

Very close to a variety of attractions, this is a nice place for lunch. Food is good and a nice place to relax. The King ordered a burger with Swiss, although not an exact item on the menu and the Queen ordered a custom made chicken sandwich (which they didn’t get quite right and thus took away one star). The sweet potato fries are plentiful and plenty good.

My go to place when I visit downtown Atlanta for business. Great drink menu, good service and great food and atmosphere.

Despite the trappings, which are unbelievable, this is not your typical Irish Fare pub. Nothwithstanding, we were given a private booth, and had exceptionally generous servings, and bottomless glasses of Coca Cola. The deep fried pickles are bread and butter pickles - no DILL - and were fabulous. The Meehan's Burger was awesome, served with ginormous, oversized Onion Rings. A great meal, good service, and the daytime music was not overpowering. A great lunch stop.

Visiting Atlanta as part of work and after checking in, wife and I went to look for food. We saw this place and decided to give it a try. It was a very good choice. We picked off their express lunch menu of 3 items, which included a small entree, with a side of choice except for the the fried chicken entree with drink for $10. Wife took the chicken, and I had turkey and Swiss on brioche with a side cup of chili (you pay a little more if you want chili) and it was worth every bit. We then treated ourselves by sharing bread pudding served with ice cream. Also very delicious. Our server was so very attentive and was courteous and friendly. I recommend this place if looking for something quick but with value. Pricing was fair. Menu also includes some Irish staples of fish and chips as well as shepherd pie.

Got in after a late flight to Midtown and needed a late dinner. It was the only place open and the menu is small so wasn’t expecting much, but service was quick and the food was delicious. Recommend for a good late night spot.

Great Irish Pub grub at very reasonable prices. We ate here over three nights and enjoyed bangers and mash, shepherds pie with chunks of tasty lamb and excellent New York strip steak. Prompt, friendly and efficient service in good atmosphere.

Best pub nachos I've ever had! Sweet vinegar with just the right amount if spice in the pickled jalapenos. The truffle Mac and cheese was also decadent. Fun atmosphere with great menu choices, and excellent service. Short walk from our hotel. Check them out, you won't be disappointed!

We have been going to Atlanta's St. Patrick's Day Parade for 15 years, the last 10 we have always stopped at Meehan's for after parade drinks and lunch. I have noticed the last several years the food and service has been getting worse. This year we walked in and I counted 18 customers. The first three employee that we encountered all had Deadlocks, the hostess didn't even know it was St. Patrick's Day??? We first ordered two Guinness, they came in a plastic cup with Sweetwater Brewery written on it. A group of women came in behind us and sat near us - two of them ordered a Moscow Mule - when they came they also were a plastic cup. They stated to the waiter that they ordered Moscow and said it was suppose to come in cooper cup? he told them they dont have any, when they tasted it they told him it didn't taste right, he said they didn't have any Ginger Beer and made it with ginger ale, its all the same. We ordered food, wife had Ruben and I had Corned Beef and Cabbage - the Ruben was passable - the Corned beef was a JOKE - Three strips of the same imitation stuff that was on the Ruben, The corned beef looked like the processed turkey bacon you buy in the store. The cabbage was the same that is used for their cole slaw. It was just plain awful. We left still paying the $60 and went down the street to a English Pub... Just dont go here there is nothing IRISH about this place.

I ordered fried fish and chips. The fish was so dry I suspect it had been leftover and reheated. I had to sip water with every bite. The other meals at the table were acceptable. The speaker played Credence Clearwater Revival, not too loud. The ladies bathroom was out of toilet tissue.

Meehan's rocks !!!! This pub shines and Ian is the patriarch of the pub and makes everyone feel welcomed and at home. The staff are amazing and the food and drink are great. We had a blast and celebrated a great evening together at Meehan's !

Very disappointing experience… The service was the highlight with a weak beer selection. I ordered a Reuben, which I would expect to be good. It was very dry and lacked flavor. Not what you would expect from an Irish Pub.

Service at first was rather unfriendly and mediocre. HOWEVER THE FOOD WAS GREAT. The Fish and Chips were good and the Reuben Sandwich was spot on.

It’s an ok place... but don’t expect to see women.. The bartenders are just ok.... the nachos though.... fantastic! It’s ok If you’re nearby.... but not worth making a special trip.

A completely lame St. Patrick’s day experience. Menu is american pub garbage, music is hipster junk, Irish whiskey list is short and the special was Slane with an IPA. AN IPA, REALLY???? Then they closed at 12 on ST. PATRICKS DAY! Are you kidding me? Last call was at 11:30. What a waste of my time.

Not the biggest fan of Irish pubs here in the states, but writing an unbiased post. The staff was numerous, but directed us to an area to the point of being a bit offensive as they wanted space free for other patrons apparently. Drinks were typical Irish flair and a bit pricey all the same. I will say they did have a low alcohol shot for charity for $5.

To start off, the menu on trip advisor is extremely outdated. Several items not available. I have attached a pic of the current menu or look at their actual website. Started with a beer and some deviled eggs, not bad but not particularly my taste. Had the 101 meatloaf with crispy Brussels Sprouts and mashed potatoes per their recommendation. The potato’s were just ok, not sure maybe just me. The sprouts were delicious and the meatloaf was good. Not a bad idea place for a beer and light lunch. Maybe I try the fish and chips next time.

Great bar, I would say little but when you get up and walk to the back it is huge. We had the lobster bisque and the buffalo salad. Lovely food. Staff are really nice, lots of different ipa and other beers. We got 3 mains and a soup with 3 pints of stella and a white wine for 72 dollars. Give it a go.

If you are looking for the absolute worst service imaginable and truly horrible food then Meehan's Public House Downtown is your place. Good luck to anyone who doesn't listen to this review.

Came here with a few folks while on conference for drinks. The front of the house was packed and no room at the bar-but don’t let this discourage you as there is seating in the back. It was larger than we anticipated. I did not eat while here but they do have an extensive beer menu and Irish themed cocktails. Had an Irish Mule and a local brew on draft-both were great. Our server was very friendly, speaking with us at length and was attentive. Like many Irish bars, it is dark inside thanks to all the dark wood and dim lighting but it’s a nice atmosphere with friendly staff and friendly customers. I would definitely recommend for a late night snack and drinks.

We started at a different place close by and the service was terrible so we went to Meehans. We had a great time! They immediately put on the football games we wanted to see and the service was very fast! Great fried pickles and wings and great drinks! Super fun place!

Never once had any bad experiences here. One of the few places I can actually get a seat during DragonCon. Service is super fast and friendly, food is hot, just the way it ought to be. God Bless you all!

Went for brunch enjoyed the bottomless mimosas and the Bloody Mary’s were excellent. We ordered the the cornedbeef and side of bangers. Waitress was cheerful and nice.

Stopped by for lunch and college football, was impressed by the quality of the food and the service. Prompt hostess and the bartender was very friendly and attentive. Preferred bangers and mashed and Shepherds Pie. Both were extremely well prepared and flavorful. Not authentic but better than I expected. I would definitely recommend if you like Irish Pubs. Loved the historic feel. Worth visiting again.

Stopped in for lunch and the food was great! Our server was wonderful and it was quick service. Highly recommend.

Dropped in for a meal, found the staff not very friendly. Meal was good - bangers & mash, fish & chips, burger. Typical faux Irish pub / sports bar. It’s really doesn’t take any effort to be friendly.

Busy Thursday evening along this part of Peachtree Street wit a wait time 30-45 mins at other restaurants but got right in here. A long narrow interior with both booths and tables. Very busy Pub with a high energy atmosphere. Very good menu. Somewhat entertaining to watch the wait staff hustle! Food was very good and drinks served quickly.

Went here for apps and beers. Both were amazing. Get the Rueben rolls and chips. Loved the pub atmosphere. Only minor complaint is that waiters are a bit spread and did not stop by as much as wanted to check on us for refills. Otherwise great place!

We were visiting Atlanta and was searching for a good place to eat near our hotel on Peach tree street. We looked at the reviews for restaurants in the area and decided to try Meehans. We were glad we did as the food was great and the service was good.

I was in town for a convention. We arrived around 6 PM on a weeknight and were seated immediately. Our server was professional but not overly friendly. I had fish & chips and they were very good. The Smithwick's Red was very good as well. I would have liked to see more selection for the international draft beers. We discussed business for some time but didn't feel rushed to leave. The location is very convenient to most of the downtown hotels.

Located in Downtown Atlanta, popular establishment built to resemble an Irish Pub. It's a loud and large place with a lively atmosphere inside. It was challenging to find a table. A dozen beers on tap including Guiness and Smithwick's.

Went here after a concert with my mom, sat at the bar since it was so late and we wanted to get in and out fast. We got our drinks and then ordered our food then the owner proceeds to come talk to us behind the bar and he is so messed up on either drugs or alcohol or both that he couldn’t even hardly function. Pretty sure drugs. Never seen alcohol make anyone act the way he was and look the way he did. He had a death grip on the bar counter trying to keep himself up (and was failing), eyes rolling in the back of his head, body jerking, couldn’t talk right, and much more. So so messed up... The nice man sitting next to me got up and got the owner out from behind the bar away from my mom and me and got him to sit down in a booth and drink some water trying to sober him up. By the time out food got out we didn’t even want to eat because we were was so disgusted and uncomfortable by what we had to watch and talk to. I’ll never go back. Such a sad situation.

I could not fault this place. The service was exceptionally good, beer was great and the Shepherds Pie was to die for. Brilliant ambiance meant we returned the following night.

Typical Irish style pub, decent bar food & a very pleasant young waitress. However, when I asked if they had any amber beers, she said no. Clearly there were a couple on the drink menu card. I should of just done my own investigation! Don’t come here if you’re expecting to have a normal quieter conversation. You’ll have to yell like most others (to be heard over others). The service was decent as was my Meehans burger. Recommend for late night beers, drinks and perhaps they’ll serve food too. About a 9-10 min. easier walk from the downtown Atlanta Hilton hotel. It’s right next to the Westin hotel.

When downtown I enjoy coming here. The place is usually busy, but I’ve always had good food and drinks! Some authentic Irish fare and imported beverages, but much is typical US Irish pub fare.

We got the fried pickles, fish and chips, and a kids meal with old cold beer. The main area was crowded however both drinks and food arrived quickly. Service was excellent and the atmosphere was jovial with neat touches to the decor. Great place to pre-game or watch the game.

I arrived in Atlanta late evening by myself and was looking for a meal and beverage. I ordered a black and tan at the bar. The bartender did a good job of floating the Gueniss on top. I followed this up with a Reuben and sweet potato fries. The Reuben was large and delicious served on rye. It was truly more than I needed. It barely left room for the large serving of fries. The staff was friendly and welcoming. I plan to go back when in the area.

Had found Meehan's on Tripadvisor, and several friends also staying at the Westin (huge convention) had visited Meehan's as well, with good reports. We tried two evenings but just didn't want to wait 2 hours to get in (no reservations are accepted unless it is for a party of at least 8). Finally, the third day of our convention, we went to Meehan's with arrival at 4:00, and got seated immediately! And glad we persevered! The decor is really like a real Irish pub (we've visited Ireland), and our server (Devlin) was excellent---friendly, welcoming, informative and very efficient. He made it a point to be sure we didn't feel rushed to order, eat and leave--greatly appreciated! Food was excellent and there was a good selection of beer and wine. Many items on the menu were typical of Irish pubs--fish & chips, shepherd's pie, bangers & mash, etc., with many other choices. Our party had the short rib chili, buffalo wings, fish & chips, shepherd's pie---all received high praise. Prices were moderate, unlike many of the area restaurants. Would recommend Meehan's.

We had just arrived Atlanta and took the Metro 'Breeze' straight from the airport to downtown. Quickest and cheapest way to go and didn't have to deal with parking a car. Stopped at Meehans Downtown for several Smithwick beers and and Buffalo Chicken Wrap. Great Irish tavern and plenty of TV's to keep you updated on sports, etc. We sat at the bar - the place was packed due to the 'comic con' type of convention that weekend. Bartender was pleasant, Buffalo Wrap was big and we shared it -- kinda like an good & filling appetizer for us. We will definitely return next time we visit Atlanta.

When you walk in you immediately notice the dark imported wood fixtures and trim that give this place a real pub atomosphere. We were there for lunch and just beat the local lunch crowd. They have some express lunch specials but we both went for the bangers and mash. A huge pile of mashed potatoes, three large bangers, peas and a mushroom gravy. Pretty well old style food. The bangers were very authentic, mash good but the peas were undercooked and the gravy a little man made, i.e. not homemade from rendered juices. Still a meal we enjoyed with a god pint of Smithwicks!

Our last lunch before heading back to UK. So glad we came in .....just for a beer to start with......then we spotted a menu with Meatloaf and we were hooked !! We are small eaters , so asked if we could share ......no problem, extra plate and cutlery were brought. Beer was lovely......dark with a slight coffee hint.....so good we had to have another......just to be sure !! Great food, great beer, great service, really nice atmosphere........

Convenient downtown location. Walking distance to most major hotels. Good drinks and food. Staff was friendly. We were seated right away.

Come to Atlanta same week every year, stay at the Westin. Place is 100 feet from the entrance to the hotel. Have had half a dozen meals there, some with clients. Typical Irish Pub menu, done fairly well, reasonably priced. Friendly staff.

Great Irish Pub. The drinks, food, and service were awesome. Would definitely recommend and visit again. I ordered the chopped salad and added grilled chicken. The vinegar chips are also very good.

Great Irish Style Pub downtown. Lots of beer on tap and extensive selection of spirits. Food choices are well priced and food quality is great. Ate here twice on our Guys Trip. All mains and starters were perfect and no complaints. Shepard’s Pie probably the best I’ve had in years, made properly (lamb), fish and chips, pasta, all a hit. Staff added to the atmosphere, friendly and happy, and great conversation.

This was a perfect choice for a casual dinner. It was fun, the service was good. Most notable was the food quality. I had the best lamb shepherds pie I have ever eaten. It tasted like your Irish grandmothers home made pie. The potatoes had a yummy broiled crust over generous lamb shank pieces, peas and onions. Followed by perfect bread pudding. Fortunately we shared the large serving.

This great pub was warm and inviting on a cold night. Great variety of food. Lovely bottle of wine. Friendly diners, good staff and tasty food. Nice casual dining.

Busy, bustling pub where the bartender happily provides you with premium vodka without telling you and then presents the bill accordingly so there's no way you'd buy a second, where you sit in a corridor outside the restrooms, and where you could buy 4 drinks for the price of two in most other bars. Highly recommend choosing anywhere else but here for drinks.

Nice pub and good food to acompany some good beer. This a good place to watch some football games. Great atmosphere. Not very clean.

Waiter was terrible. Big guy just didn’t care. Ask him about speciala don’t know wouldn’t go find out. Brought us the wrong drinks, told him, didn’t care, didn’t replace them. Go somewhere else. Metro is down the road and Atlanta clubhouse is next door.

This was a great choice. I was looking for an Irish pub in downtown Atlanta that would have very good food. As well, good choice of beverages and friendly patrons would help. Top it off with great service.

Was on business in Atlanta. Had a free moment before dinner. Stopped in for a beer. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Try the fried pickles

Went twice while in town for a convention. Great atmosphere, good service and wonderful food. Nothing special about the menu but they specialize in a few things and they them right! Different drink specials every day and plenty of Guiness on tap!

After a very disappointing experience just trying to get a table at Sweet Georgia Juke Joint, my party and I abandoned ship and walked a few steps over to Meehan's Public House and they totally picked up the slack! Let me just tell you, Meehan's is AWESOME!! If you are just looking for a quick bite to eat or want to unwind from the day and grab some drinks, this is the spot to go to - quick and AMAZING service, awesome food and drinks and a laid back, low-key and relaxed atmosphere. Our waiter was attentive and amazing even during a busy happy hour rush and we are so grateful! Definitely will be visiting again soon!

Found meehan's online, saw it got good reviews. Went there it was absolutely amazing! Service was great food was great! If you're in the area you have to try it!

Needed a place to host a small party of 40 or so people. The Management and staff were very helpful in making arrangements. There is a nice private room in the back. they prepared a limited menu for our guests. Service was attentive and food was good

Met a group here for drinks and dinner. The place was packed. The atmosphere is great & the food is good, but the service could be better. Our server forgot to put in part of our order & brought back incorrect change. If you are laid back & aren’t in a hurry this is an alright place to eat.

My husband and I came here twice. We came for lunch and came the next day for dinner during the second week of September. The pretzels were very good. I like red wine and my husband likes the beer. I highly recommend this place if you're in Atlanta..it's walking distance from Ritz-Carlton.

These guys were very accommodating to our group of seven. They had a nice beer selection (including a stout) and their Shepard's Pie was made in the traditional way with lamb. It was delicious.

Take a break and enjoy the delicious dishes. Excellent choice, very good quality and friendly service. A truly fantastic experience! Top!

What a great place to unwind after a long day or watch whatever game that’s playing. Cracking pint of Guinness. Food is hearty and craic is mighty. Really good bar tenders, your drink is never left empty for long if at all. Despite being a visitor I was made to feel totally at home. Well done Meehan’s.

we went here as we wanted a good irish pub food experience and last time i was in town i tried the place down the street and it was bad, this place however did not disappoint as it was excellent. the service was great and the food was excellent. i had the sheepard's pie and it was extremely good, one of the best i've had in a long time. all my co workers also lover thier meals. this will remain on my list of restaurants to visit when in town again.

Walked from our Hyatt Hotel. The food was outstanding. The ambience great. A true little gem downtown!

Such good food! I had the grilled chicken BLT which was so fresh and delicious. Plus the house potato chips are addicting. Fun fact: they support local farmers and businesses which is an added bonus.

August 2023) During my work trip here, I stopped in twice since it was a block from my hotel. The first time, I ordered the shepherd’s pie. Here, they serve it with lamb and HP Sauce. HP Sauce tastes like sweetened ketchup. The second time, I ordered the seared salmon. Both nights, Troy was tending the bar and kept my ice tea filled. If I lived in Atlanta, I’d bookmark this place as one of my go-to’s.

We had a pretty informal business meeting here. Had some drinks and some bar food and everything was good. Service was great. It was a fun atmosphere. They had a live European Soccer game on with a lot of locals rooting for the teams. Pretty loud and fun.

While in Atlanta for a conference, my friend and I ate dinner here simply because it was raining and it was close to our hotel. So happy for the rain! The food was great and the atmosphere was fun. Servers were friendly and gave suggestions on food that we appreciated. Everyone should eat here!

A great Irish bar in a good location in downtown Atlanta. Fun, relaxed and good service. Short walk to metro. Recommended.

This place had amazing decor and was very convenient to walk to in downtown from our hotel on a business trip. The food was pretty good and VERY fast.

Great dinner after the ATL United game. Fish n Chips and Shepherds pie. Fish n chips were as expected but the Shepherds pie may have been the best I’ve ever had. Made with lamb and fresh veggies and perfectly cooked mashed potatoes. And perfectly cold Smithwicks on draught. Good service and price.

This pub has a great feel to it with lots to choose from on the menu. The service is great from a friendliness, attention and speed perspective.

Good for a drink or two. Service is a little slow, but they were friendly enough to make up for it. The food is classic pub food, nothing to write home about.

I selected this place for dinner with coworkers because of the reviews (thank you Tripadvisor) and it was within walking distance from the hotel we were staying at. The restaurant decor is Irish pub style. The place is long an narrow. The front section was pretty full of people, we were seated by the kitchen (which had seating on one side of the hallway which leads to the rest of the restaurant and restrooms. At first I was a little concerned being so close to the kitchen, but it turned out to be a blessing, because it was quieter we were the only one in the area and could hear each other without having to raise our voices. (It was a Monday night, I am not sure how quiet it would be on a peak night.) The menu had some classic Irish dishes, but if you are not a fan of Irish foods, they offer other options. I was intrigued by the Grilled Feta Sandwich ($10) which came with one side. I ordered the crispy Brussels sprouts for $1 more. I admit I enjoyed both my sandwich and side very much. They also had a drink menu a variety of beer "combos" (think Black & Tan) for reasonable prices and Irish Whiskey equally reasonable rates. Service was also good.

We were undecided about eating here, we went in just for a beer! So glad we had some food, the quality was superb, great variety, excellent service. Three rounds of drinks, three course meal all for 60$ a head, superb night out.

I have a friend named Meehan so we had to stop in and it was great. Fun, inviting, great menu and libations, what’s not to like? Go in and enjoy everything about Meehan’s especially the staff with a great attitude and the environment to back it up.

I looked for fish and chip and found this place, beers are a good price fish and chip where good size around $15.00, the only thing I didn't like was the slaw to much mayo, when are American style English pubs going to go the Australia way where you have the slaw and you put your own amount of mayo out of a sauce bottle but apart from that it was an enjoyable meal good atmosphere too staff where great.

Meehan pub downtown Atlanta is a great place to meet friends and catch up with them!have a beer or two and Some delicious snacks!nice and friendly staff!the interior is Nice and welcoming and chairs are comfortable!so you can spend a few hours here!

Checked out Meehan's when I was in town for a convention last week. The place was really nice and had a good pub vibe. Our waiter was a little flighty and not fully paying attention but generally nice and gave us good recommendations. I tried the drink special, Cathead Honeysuckle Blue, it was pretty good. I loved the truffle mac & cheese and added lobster to it to make it even better. Overall I would recommend checking this place out!

always a favorite place to eat when we go to ATL. food is good place is fun and the service is great!

Right beside the Westin, decent food (salty) and lots of different beers. They have a late night menu with decent portions.

Fish and Chips are awesome. A variety of beers to choose from. Nice, friendly staff and a great place to catch up on Sunday NFL games

I enjoyed my visit to Meehan’s. It was the first time that I had been in an Irish pub in a very long time. The ambiance was very cool and typical of an Irish Pub. I had the Shepherd’s Pie and thought it was very good, as was the drop kick IPA and the perfectly poured pint of Guinness. The staff was friendly as well. I would visit again if ever in the area.

The food was very good. I specifically lo es that the mac and cheese on the kid's menu was real mac and cheese and not Kraft or something. The beer was good with some local choices. The atmosphere was unique and authentic.

Came here with some work colleagues after a long day and loved the experience. The service was very good and professional, the appetizers amazing, and the food itself genuinely good. I had the Shepherd’s pie and unlike other places that use beef, this place actually served lamb! It was delicious. Definitely coming back again.

We stopped by Meehan's because we always love checking out Irish pubs. I ordered the fish and chips and was not terribly impressed by it. Food was average and on the more expensive side for what we received. Service was good.

Really great meal. Seared salmon was excellent. Great flavor. Waiter was ok. Not real talkative. It was really busy but food was served quickly. Would visit again.

Fried pickles, a Rueben and König Ludwig Weißbier to wash it down were on tonight’s menu. I got there at 18:30, a bit early -- fortunate since the international woodworking fair is in town. It was soon thereafter SRO++. The König Ludwig Weißbier was sadly served in a regular pint glass vs. the proper glass for Weißbier but it was still excellent beer. The fried pickles were perfect – nice and hot, crispy batter coating, never got soggy, and tart, thin pickles. The Rueben was likewise excellent, with tender and thickly- stacked corned beef on grilled rye, decent kraut and I could actually (for a change) taste the caraway seed. My only beef, as it were, with this sandwich was that they charged a higher price than on the menu. That should not be, but I didn’t fight it as they needed the table and to boot were terribly busy. The server was friendly and save for a period where she was really busy, right on top of things – totally forgiveable. Other staff pitched in where needed. I definitely would like to visit when it’s not so busy as I think it’s probably a nice, chill experience most times. All in all, it’s an excellent value.

Came here late night after SEC Championship game. Service was better than expected and food came out hot. Better than average beer selection. It's quite loud, but what else should you expect at a late night Irish pub?

I ordered the lobster bisque and the buffalo chicken salad and they were both excellent. The salad was fresh, flavorful and crisp. The chicken was tender and thinly breaded just how I like it. My friend had the chicken BLT sandwich and said it was delicious. Staff are friendly and customer service was stellar! Thank you Andrew for my receipt!

Right to the point. The bartender was super nice and helpful and pretty she helped me pick out a drink the Long Ireland iced Tea which was very good. I will be ordering that again. I ordered the fish and chips the fries were okay the coleslaw was good the tartar sauce was great I put most of it on my fries. The fish was terrible it was not freshly breaded fish you could tell it was something out of a box that have been sitting in the freezer too long. The fish was hard and dry. I doubt I would get that again . fresh fried fish should be crispy moist and Flaky this fish was none of the above it was very hard and chewy like it was Friday earlier and reheated.
Good pub
Attended pub with a couple of mates. Good service. Busy after football game. Many TVs throughout showing football. Plenty of beers on tap including Stella and others. Located central on Peachtree Street. Wings are very good.
