Lovely Dinner with Friends

By comingtoyourcity |

We were looking for a quaint restaurant with good food and atmosphere and found it at Meet the Moon. It's not very big and the tables are a little close together, but it didn't matter. Since we'd never been there before, we asked the waiter a bunch of questions about what to try. His recommendations were spot on with what we wanted. We split everything so we could try lots of dishes. The brussel sprouts were awesome! So was the chopped salad and the taco special. So flavorful. Two waiters recommended the chicken bolognese so we had to try it. We thought really? Chicken not beef or pork? But you've got to try it, because it was amazing and we were all surprised. To end it we split the skillet oatmeal cookie and it was a perfect end to a great dinner. We will be back for more!

Great Location and Views

By jerrylindsay2016 |

Met friends here for brunch on a Sunday morning - spectacular views of Lake Washington (not from the restaurant, but adjacent to it) and Mount Rainier. Menu extensive, very nice choices, very attentive wait staff and a very lovely setting. Indoor or outdoor dining choices.

Great little spot for dinner

By Mlke L |

We visited on Tuesday night and the restaurant was pretty busy. The bar selection was varied and the number of local beers was good for such a small venue. We had the pretzel appetizer, which was excellent. I had the house burger, while my wife had the avocado toast and our friend had their famous tomato soup. Everything was excellent, but we didn't have room for dessert. Parking can be a slight challenge in the area of the restaurant.

Very creative menu that delivers!

By mkoroll |

This restaurant has a lot to offer in flavours and ambience. We had grilled asparagus to start which had a spicy seasoning that added punch. Then we shared the Arugula and wild rice salad which came family style....it was also delicious! The staff were super friendly and engaging, and when we went to pay our bill we learned that the salad was on the house cause we waited too long! We didn't notice the wait and would have been happy to pay for it. If you're in Leschi - just outside of downtown Seattle check this place out.

Brunch

By John DeLorie |

Place is always busy. Menu tweaked and improved several times. Food is very good, but portions are a little skimpy. Service is hit or miss...sometimes attentive and spot on, other times completely screws up your order and couldn't care less. I am annoyed over the automatic 20% service charge, which you pay regardless of poor service and screwed up orders. Add to that, if you pay by cc, they hand you a non-itemized bill to sign for that says, 'No tip', even though they already charged a 20% fee. Those not paying attention often then add another tip, which includes a percentage of the 20% fee. The presentation is a little seedy.

Nice place!

What a great neighborhood place! We didn’t have to wait long for a table for dinner (even though it was Father’s Day) and our server was great and the food was delicious. A special shout-out for the crab chowder and the tacos....!

10 outta 10

By Bfleissner |

My breakfast here was amazing. I had the breakfast bowl with the maple chicken sausage and I honestly think I could eat that for breakfast for the rest of my life! I was nervous about the combination of the maple sausage with the other flavors of the bowl but I was wrong! The flavors were so good together and the potatoes were downright amazing. Can't wait for my next trip to Seattle so I can visit again!

Great breakfast spot

A beautiful, informal restaurant. We stopped for breakfast and enjoyed great service and good quality, fresh food. Pure linen napkins and lovely attention to detail with a relaxed atmosphere. Easy to park outside.

Disappointing

By shewholovesgoodfood |

4 of us recently ate dinner at Meet the Moon. Unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. 2 of us ordered a glass of wine each. It was one of the stingiest pours I have seen, considering that one was $9.50 and the other was $12.50 per glass. My husband had the House Manhattan, which was good, but relatively small in comparison to many other restaurants we have been to. I had the classic Clam Chowder, which didn't seem to have any clams in it at all. The potatoes appeared to have been broken into more of a mush like soup. The Moon chopped salad was crammed into a bowl, and over dressed. Our friends had the pork tacos and mushroom burger; they said they were good, but not great. My husband had the albacore tuna poke, which he enjoyed. Staff is attentive.

Fun neighborhood spot

Very cute, very warm, very welcoming. Meet the Moon is different from all the other restaurants in the group. It serves up comfort food that's got a bit of a unique twist. The server was quite pleasant and very knowledgeable. Really enjoyed the meal. Plus, they bake their own biscuits and pastries!

Great addition to the neighborhood

We had breakfast on a week day as it is really too busy on weekends. Service was great and food was well prepared and flavorful. Space us inviting but tables are tight together so not for private conversations.

Juicy burger, vegetable hash on a Leschi Marina stop

By Bingitt |

We were cruising around the lake and wanted a new place to eat. This place did not disappoint at all! I had a light vegetable hash-very funky and my style, the guys had tacos and a burger and got pastries for next day's lunch. Very nice and modern location, tasty food. Happy with the easy friendly menu and dinner prices are around $14-18, steaks and such more expensive. We will be back

A very nice neighborhood experience!

By Janette A |

We always like going to a restaurant in our neighborhood and finally checked out Meet the Moon. The experience was very pleasant....everyone liked their meal, the wine was great, and the service was wonderful.

Excellent

By ebatiz40 |

Recently had late lunch with my family here on a visit to Seattle. We order the Crab mac and cheese, mahi mahi tacos. Food was excellent. The mac and cheese were terrific if you like that, the tacos were also very good. Portions are large maybe you can share. A bit pricey for what we ordered but great spot with a nice view of the lake and marina.

Amazing Brunch!

By NDJ152 |

We were staying at a local AirBNB and walked to this amazing cafe! Awesome bloody mary's, amazing brunch. Cool local vibe. I could eat here every meal. I had the biscuit's and gravy, which I highly recommend. Everything coming out of the kitchen looked amazing! Service was great too!

Try The Plantain Chips!

By misopiso88 |

We were looking for a fun place in Seattle for lunch so decided to try out Meet The Moon. A terrific menu and tasty food. The guacamole and plantain chips were DELISH! Highly recommend for a healthy, light meal in Leschi.

Late lunch

Delicious! My husband's BLTA! I had the curried lentil dish and it was superb. The location is right around the corner and down the walkway from our Airbnb. Service was perfect. Great all around experience. Outdoor seating also available.

good locals restaurant

By AirWavesC42MKII |

Meet The Moon certainly doesn't disappoint on food selection, quality, presentation, and taste. My wife and I walk to it from our home in Madison Park to enjoy weekend brunch. It's right on Lake Washington but the outside seating faces the street and not the water. For out of town visitors staying in downtown Seattle the best and least expensive way to get to this wonderful restaurant is to take the #27 bus. It stops right in front of the restaurant! Great food and a great location!

Delish gem in the 'hood!

By Smeeta27 |

I met a friend for brunch here a couple of weeks ago and have gone twice since already. There is always a wait but it is SO worth it! Veggie scramble and Avocado toast is yummy and I am finding myself craving to go back there. Good service too!

Hot Chocolate You Will Dream About

By Bev w |

We had brunch here on Saturday because it was within walking distance of our rental...just headed to brunch expecting nothing special. After a short wait we sat down to a lovely brunch with lots of unusual menu selections to choose from, the interior is attractive and the crowded space is filled with happy bright conversations, all in all a very cheery atmosphere. But the real kicker is the hot chocolate. We never got back there during our visit but it wasnt because we didnt want to go. Seattle had an unusual snow event followed by freezing temperatures that left the sidewalks and streets slippery. Meet the Moon is lakeside and at the bottom of several hills we decided it was too treacherous to return on foot or by car, but that didn't stop us from for pining for more hot chocolate!

Cozy breakfast!

By Katie N |

My husband and I stopped by here on our way to the arboretum. I have to say this is probably the best brunch of my life. The avocado toast was my absolute favorite! It was positively heavenly. My husband got the breakfast sandwich with the maple chicken sausage with a side of bacon and it was just as good. We both tried the grapefruit mimosa and because it took a bit for the first round to come out, they offered a second on them!! Great service, beautiful restaurant, delicious food and drinks. Not a single bad thing I can name! It was a perfect breakfast. The cappuccino I had was also spot on, as well as the caramel latte I ordered to go. I highly recommend this place!!

Local Leschi Brunch spot!

By Mike B |

I love this spot in Leschi. It is right on the lake, and it a great spot for brunch or coffee. They have a nice little patio that is open in the summer, and the garage doors open up to make the entire spot feel bright and breezy. There is a great bar as well and the food is fantastic. I love the service here. They remember you, and even remember favorite drinks etc. This is the perfect spot for locals. Highly recommend the scones, or biscuits and gravy with fried chicken! If you are in the mood for a cocktail, the big negroni is perfect.

Great Food - Questionable Service

By kjbrownfam |

The food is great. It's fresh, creative and wonderfully presented. When my husband and I arrived, the hostess' demeanor was as if to question that we should be there. Our waitperson was o.k., although he checked on us once, didn't refill our coffee and then we saw him again when he presented the bill. The person who brought our food seemed put out as well. I may or may not come back.

A fun spot in Leschi

By Taylor W |

Visited here with my wife 2 weeks after they opened, and we both really liked the atmosphere and selection. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, and the food was absolutely awesome. There wasn't much space, but they made good use of it with great decor and a welcoming atmosphere. We had breakfast and coffee here, and it was throughly enjoyable. We don't live near Leschi, so we won't be able to drop by frequently, but kind of wish we did, so we could enjoy this place more often.

A pleasant surprise in the neighborhood

By Zaxes |

Although this cozy restaurant is next to Lake Washington, there is no view. It makes up for this loss by providing a superior menu and excellent staff. The dinner was beautifully presented, ample and tasty. The wine selection is extensive. From the moment we were seated the experience felt like a classy neighborhood place to get together with friends and/or family for a nice dining experience.

Great food for neighborhood, wish a bit cheaper

By hillary b |

Would come here all the time if the bill wasn't so high at the end of the night. The food is great and the libation selection is good-- but for a few night a week place, it's sorta pricey

Carnitas!

By TallTrainer |

Great ambience & cozy restaurant. Hence, get here early on the weekend, like before 6pm or expect to wait. Since I was just a party of one I opted for the bar to let the tables fill with larger parties. I decided on the Carnitas and glad I did. There was plenty of crispy, well-seasoned pulled pork to fill my tortillas along with verde salsa and their own hot sauce (which I highly recommend). For dessert I chose the baked Apple Crisp without ice cream or whip cream. I could easily tell it was homemade with Washington apples, baked to perfection. Oh, so good. Two thumbs up!

Wonderful place will be visiting again this summer

By Flossyboo |

Sorry for the late review Meet the Moon! We had the pleasure of eating brunch here in the summer and it didn’t disappoint. Sometimes a place gets everything right. Food, people, atmosphere. Speaking of the food everything we had was delicious. Such a cool place and we are already planning for our next visit. Thanks!

A great place with wonderful energy!

By Patricia W I |

Our daughters took us to "their new favorite restaurant" and it was terrific! A great lakeside location, a lovely rustic décor, a really good wine list, and a fabulous waiter. And all of this before we got to the food---which was wonderful. We had fried clam strips, steak frites, pork carnitas, and tuna and loved it all. We were sorry to leave!

A gem in the neighborhood

By max4355 |

You’re always glad you went there. Meet the Moon is a curious place for me. The curried lentil hash is my go to dish so much so that I have to challenge myself to try other things. The staff is always friendly and fun to engage in conversation. Every time I leave, I leave with the thought... I’m really glad I went there. Morning, noon or evening. A choice you’ll never second guess.

Long wait

By Jean R |

Our family (4 people) waited quite a long time to get seated +30 minutes. The restaurant was busy but there were a lot of servers. After being seated we waited another 20 minutes to have anyone bother to give us water, or take our order. Our son wrote down what we wanted while we waited and gave the order to our server when they finally decided to take the order. By this time, the restaurant had slowed down considerably and there were still a lot of servers many of who were visiting with their friends rather than waiting on folks. The food, once we got served, was okay.

Good food

By Alyssa |

This is a nice little spot by the lakeside, at the time of our visit there was no wait for a table (Saturday Dinner time). The service was very good, friendly and efficient. The food was very tasty and made with fresh ingredients.

Great dinner

By Jennifer R |

Walked here from Madrona. We arrived about 6:30 and our party of 5 was seated quickly. By 7:30 people were waiting for tables. Food was wonderful! We had the chefs tacos, carnitas, salmon corn chowder and arugula & farrow salad. Everything was delicious. Service was quick. Dress was neighborhood casual. Would definitely eat here again.

Dreaming of Avocados

By gbalas |

Excellent restaurant/cafe/bar with a great decor and vibe. The music is great and the wifi is as strong as their coffee. Enjoyed an excellent breakfast here. Highly recomment the carne asada skillet and the avocado toast (ESPECIALLY THE AVOCADO TOAST). Note the portions are ridiculously huge!!

Great for breakfast!!

By sailhersue |

Best neighborhood restaurant ever!! Great pretzel at happy hour . Friendly service, good food... try the scrambles at breakfast and biscuits and gravy too.

New & Thriving in the small Leschi business district

By Madronaguy |

I went for the hamburger, which has been rated among Seattle's best - deservedly so. They serve breakfast, lunch, dinner & weekend brunch. Decor is in keeping with the nearby boat marina. My friend told me she enjoyed their lobster roll.

Breakfast in Leschi

By mark n |

I stopped in for breakfast at Meet the Moon. This restaurant is located in the Seattle's Leschi neighborhood amid an area that is home to several other restaurants and a Starbucks. I must say the breakfast was well done. Service was fast and friendly. I would eat here again in a heartbeat. If in the neighborhood stop in.

Wow wow wow! So good!

By Dusty H |

This is my new favorite breakfast/brunch place! This cute little restaurant has a nice atmosphere, SUPER friendly staff, amazingly delicious meals (the brûlée French toast was my favorite). The restaurant is a little out of the way in the lakeside Lashi neighborhood, but worth the drive.

Lunchtime treat

By 912Eileen9876 |

During my 6 weeks in Seattle I enjoyed a breakfast, a couple of lunches and an evening meal here. There is a brilliant variety on the menu which is small but caters for all tastes. The staff are very welcoming and the service faultless. Small restaurant which works hard to ensure the customer is happy.

Hopefully a temporary lapse

By 912Eileen9876 |

Having enjoyed many meals here last year I was eager to return. It started well with a yummy cinnamon roll and went downhill from that point. The order was incorrectly remembered so was incorrect when served. When pointed out the server decided to argue an issue that was made and the food was just warm. Although the complaint was dealt with to my satisfaction the whole experience did not encourage me to return. Perhaps time will dull my memory as it could have just been a bad Sunday.

Try the Meatloaf! Fun place and cool location

By montana43 |

There were three of us for dinner on a Monday night and the place was very busy, bit out of the way from downtown but worth the Uber. We had Burgers and a meatloaf and they were very "comforting" on a cold night! A great place to try for sure you will not be disappointed. Service was very attentive and knowledgable.

Fresh, great service, great flavour

By Solly1967 |

We were traveling through Seattle on the way to Vancouver and found this wonderful cafe on the lake (although without a lake view). Service was warm, the food was excellent and we made a great choice. While the menu is small of length, it makes up for it with great flavors. The pork bowl with beans and avocado was beautifully cooked and had a perfect balance (no need to add the hot sauce we were offered). The soba noodle salad was simply divine. Oh, and the coffee was outstanding (and we are coffee snobs!) If you are looking for quality from people who clearly get it, then Meet at the Moon. You might reach the stars.

Good times on the lakefront

By Steve F |

First time here at this breezy lakefront restaurant. Loved the vibe and our service was top notch too (thank you Melissa.!). Our group of six were seated after only waiting for a few minutes. There was a problem with their tap beer system, but luckily they had a decent selection of bottled beers. The eclectic menu had something for everyone's tastes, although they were sold out of a couple of items. Everyone liked their choices except for the street tacos which featured shredded brisket that was quite dried out. My curried lentil hash was a definite winner, with tons of flavor, healthy and a good value too. I'd love to come back on another dreamy Seattle summer night to explore more of the menu.

nice spot

By Edmund1020 |

I usually would not be going out of my way to Leshei but it was Restaurant Week so I thought I'd try it out. It was great. American style food but done up really special. The service was real nice too. Kind of a smallish place dominated by a really nice bar. The portions are generous and really nicely done. We'll come again.

Always delightful

By CocoaJ4life |

Simply put, this place is great. Small kitchen means they put out a quality product. I've been here twice and have thoroughly enjoyed myself both times. Keep up the good work my moonies!

Good locavore food

By T9-Orca |

Meet the Moon has a small dining room and locavore Northwest food. If you want a mixed-grain mushroom burger, this is a good place to go. The salads are good, and the breakfasts fine. It's located right on the lake in Leschi, but without a view of the water. We used to frequent this restaurant, but we go less and less often - even though the food is good, and the menu rather diverse, it seems that most items on the menu have the same general taste profile (not all, but many), and the menu seems small. I find myself enjoying one visit every three or four months, but going more frequently is disappointing.

The best

By Riverdog_23 |

This was by far the best meal we had while we were in Seattle. We came for bunch on Friday (the last day of our trip) and we were sad because we wish we would have found it quicker. The portion size was not too much and was quite yummy. I got the breakfast sandwich and my girlfriend got the breakfast burrito. Both of us just raved about the quality of the food. We also got a blueberry muffin as an appetizer, and it was really good. Louis was our server, and he was outstanding. This is a place that you must go and check out. It looks like a local hot spot that we are so glad we enjoyed.

Are other reviews true?

By kulleMurcia |

Service was fast, we came during "happy hours" when few arrived. But food was very average, fries black burned and fish pieces as well. Burgers small and not tasty. McDonald's burgers are better. A disappointment.

Brunch was delicious

By Georgia L |

The restaurant was very busy so my friend and I sat at the bar. We ordered mimosas and a lovely omelette and frittata. It was a fun experience!

Inconsistent Service, Great Brunch

By Seattlekat1 |

We have brunch at this cute Leshi spot frequently in the summer. The brunch menu is terrific, varied and satisfies a variety of houseguests. The brunch servers are super- attentive, warm, helpful. The outdoor seating is very popular in warm weather. Regrettably, I can't say much positive about either the lunch/dinner menu or staff. I've had one so/so lunch experience and, last night, one really poor dinner experience. First, the menu: the burger is worthwhile. Salad choices are limited and uninspired with a focus on iceberg lettuce. The tacos were bland. Dinner service is disappointing at best and ruinous at worst. Our food last night arrived cold despite the place being only a quarter full. We addressed this with mgt who agreed there was room for improvement and, to their credit, tried to make it right. Still, until the dinner reviews reflect consistently improved dinner service and menu changes, we'll probably stick to brunch.

Amazing place

By DLanz |

We recently visited Seattle for 4 nights and ate in this bistro 3 times. The food was lovely and the staff so friendly. Big shout outs to Rachel and Alexa. It made our holiday! Thank you all.

Good restaurant evolving

By Cheri R |

A neighborhood restaurant that is above average, Meet the Moon handt-makes its delicious hamburgers, and my husband says they have the best french fries in town. Salads are big and filling, a small is as large as we go. We ordered a grains and greens salad that was outstanding twice, the third time it fell flat. A new spot, they seem to still be working on it. We enjoy the staff and food so much, we go almost weekly.

Just so so

By aztravelgrl |

Nice location and atmosphere. Waitress wasn't overly friendly. No air conditioning or fans and it was hot inside! Indoor seating was a bit cramped. Nice outside bar eating area too. Someone's dog was barking outside which was annoying while trying to talk and enjoy dinner. Had the Vietnamese salad for $14. Nothing special and they wanted $7 to add chicken and it wasn't all that much. Lousy pours on the wine. Just have been to other places that are better value for the money

First eats in Seattle :-)

By Rebecca K |

First, awesome staff! Thank you Melissa for super service and knowledge about the menue and wine selections. Poke reminded me of Hawaii--as it should. Delish hamburger cooked just as I ordered and about the crispiest handcut fries I've had.
