Great restaurant with down to earth feel!

By Adrielynn |

Really nice atmosphere & food. Very laid back like a neighborhood pizza spot. I will definitely eat there again. It wasn't to crowded, but wasn't a ghost town either.

Good pizza

By JoeBoone82 |

Good pizza, friendly staff, clean restaurant and priced fair. I had the Mighty Meatie with all of the meats and it was good. I would eat here again.

Savannah was amazing!

By OhioHeadinsouth |

We had a 6:30 reservation for 15 (11 adults and 4 children) on Friday evening. Management somehow failed to communicate this to the staff (shame on you). When we arrived, the staff jumped into action and in less than a couple of minutes had us seated and taking orders. We ended up with 5 large pizzas and 3 orders of pretzel bites. When the kid's pizza got a bit overdone and had to be a bit late, they comped it for us. Savannah served our table of 15 like it was a 4 top on a slow evening. Anticipated all of our needs and made suggestions that enhanced the entire experience. The food was great, but the service was above and beyond what we might have had anywhere else with a party that large. The management of this restaurant needs to make sure they recognize and reward employees who skillfully take, what could have been, a horrible experience and turn it into one where we are writing to congratulate the staff.

Just a short walk from our hotel for a terrific lunch!

By Lois R |

While in Atlanta for baseball we chose to walk to the Mellow Mushroom for our lunch. Not disappointed at all! I have to say that the pizza was really good but the salad I chose, garden, was one of the freshest salads and tasty that I have ever eaten. I was so impressed I would certainly dine in again.

Best pizza anywhere!

By ashley d |

The first time I ate at Mellow Mushroom, I considered moving to Atlanta so I could eat it everyday! It is so, so good!!! Even if the service were terrible (which it's not) I would make due in order to get that pizza. I'll admit it's pricier than, say, Papa John's, but you just can't compare the two. It's like comparing a filet mignon to a McDonald's burger. We go to Atlanta every 3-4 months, and make it a point to eat there everytime. We usually stop at the one in Birmingham on the way home to Memphis, too. Now I'm just counting down the days until the Memphis location opens. I see 5 pounds headed my way! Be sure to try the Magical Mystery Tour---unbelievable!!

Reliable but not magical

By DevilWdtGA |

There are a few MMs with a very cool vibe and great food. This isn't one of them. Our waiter gave very good service but the food was just ok and the atmosphere was too. Not bad, just not great.

Quick Pizza

By Abdul B |

Good pizza, easy to park kid friendly, lunchtime can be busy, various choices, we did business lunch.

Best 60's throwback Pizza Place in Atlanta

By chuckt650 |

The menu is reasonably priced and the variety is adequate. The Hawaiian is my favorite but I will eat a Mighty Meaty or a House Special in a heartbeat.

Great food and service

By Zorrothegreat |

Great food and service. So many different locations you are bound to find one near you. Some places even have trivia night.

How do you go wrong here? This place is great

By worldie07 |

Great pizza at good prices. How do you go wrong? Their dough is great. Try the pretzels. Pizza by the slice or whole pie.

Too much going on

By ana carolina f |

We experienced the pick up, so I can only comment the pizza. We ordered the Holy Shiitake pie, not cheap ($20 medium size) and too much information. The aioli ruined everything, a taste that killed all others, and mayo in the pizza is an insult to an italian. My suggestion: loose the aioli and this pizza will be great!

Not my cup of tea

By Richard1103 |

My kids love this place but I only go there To humor them. There are much better Pizza places in town than this. I'd rather Stay home and have frozen pizza.

Terrific pizza!

By Karen O |

Nobody loves a good pizza more than I and Mellow Mushroom makes a great pizza. The atmosphere is retro-hippie psychedelic and you can expect good service by the staff. I recommend the Magical Mystery Tour, which is my favorite pie.

Great Pizza

By Lori D |

Whats not to love? Fantastic, friendly service, ability to sit outside, casual environment and incredible pizza. I also like to get the greek salad which is simple, though the dressing makes fabulous dip for your crust!

Pizza anyone

By InternationalTrade |

The pizza variety is awesome. Enjoyed the pizza so much that ordered one to go. Heathy vegetarian options.

If you want pizza and you're not in NY, Chicago or California...

By foreverart |

This is the place! Really good pizza, decent prices, not had a bad one yet. If there's a better pizza place around, I don't know where it is.

Love their wheat crust pizza!

Love their wheat crust pizza!

Ivan Allen, DT location

By cindyandted |

This review is for the location in downtown Atlanta. We had a great lunch for a reasonable price. I had the large mozzarella, tomato and basil sub on a very fresh french bread. The mozzarella was of a good quality and it was all fresh and delicious. The large sub comes with a bag of chips. My husband had pizza which he enjoyed. We both had iced teas which were filled without having to ask. Our waitress was nice and competent. The restaurant is spacious and within walking distance of the Mart. We will definitely return when we are in DT Atlanta. To our dismay it is closed on Saturday.

Service lacking, but great pizza

By Amanda D |

We went to the Mellow Mushroom on Peachtree near downtown. Our server was a bit lacking in his skills. Slower to fill drinks and not easy to get his attention. However, the pizza was great. We had to wait a few minutes for it to cool down enough to serve, but it was worth the wait. Fresh ingredients and so full of flavor! The pizza more than made up for the service issues. Glad we weren't in a hurry so we could enjoy our dinner. Recommend!

Late Night Take Out

By Global Trekking |

We ordered our food to go. When we went to the bar to pick up the food there were roaches crawling on the bar taps. The bartender apologized, but we left without the food.

Delicious

By bydragonfly |

They serve the best pizza - an assortment of toppings like no other!

Another good Mellow Mushroom

By Chris P |

When I go to Mellow Mushroom I know what to expect - friendly service, a good beer selection and great pizza - this one was no exception!

Good stuff

By Dee G |

Pizza and Philly steak were really good! Good customer service. No complaints. Pizza is better than most places I've visited

Best pizza in Atlanta

By Beth W |

Not sure what they do with making this pizza but like all pizzas they are greasy and this seems to be less on that end. High quality products is what that must be from. The crust if the best and have never in at least the 20+ years I have eaten it, had a bad one at any of there restuarants. If I have a choice, I'd go ther everytime. Wish they still delivered.

Loved this place!!

By depotman23 |

Wish I could remember everyone's names there.. Stayed to watch the game. Food was great, service was awesome. Brooks, you are awesome!! Will definitely visit again next time I'm staying there

Plenty of options

By nolepal |

Like that I can order a slice any way I want it and not have to order a whole pie. They have alot of optiotns besides pizza, too.

Good good good

By btnewhouse |

Very good pizza. Very good craft beer selection. Very good service. My wife and I sat at the bar for an afternoon visit. Bartender was friendly and the bar manager took time to discuss craft beers with us.

YUM!!!

By parisbound10 |

Great atmosphere and pizza! The courtyard is beautiful!

late lunch

By Scott O |

Had a late lunch on a Saturday with my sons and dad. Food was great & service good. Has both in side and outside seating. Loved the pizza & good selection of beer. Will be back when we visit again.

Pizza of a certain standards

By prussia11 |

MM is a well known chain and most of the restaurants that are operated under the MM brand are pretty decent - same goes for the unit at Powers Ferry. Good & fresh ingredients, decent crust (at least most of the time) and pretty much styles that people love and even in a group can agree on sharing. An impressive draft beer menu helps you to enjoy the food offers. But there comes a point when you realize, the places look aged! The hippie era colors and decorations are definitely making a positive difference to the other pizza places that come to your neighborhood by chains, but that store specifically needs some renovation, some lighting accents - well something to freshen it up. After a MM house special pizza paired with great Sierra Nevada IPA (?what IPA was it again ....?) I left the store satisfied for my hunger, but a bit bored from the place itself.

Epic Service Failure on many levels!

By Atl_GaSunshine |

We arrrived at about 6.30 on Sunday, Sept 17th. There were only a few tables occupied. a family of 5 came in just in front of us and sat in the booth behind us. The Server Amanda came over to us to tell us she was not our server, in fact she said "she didn't want to be a server" Which was oblivious from her attitude. We ordered a pitcher of beer, she asked for our ID..not problem..as I was getting my wallet she said "only just kidding"!! We ordered our pizza from her at the same time. 15 minutes later, we still do not have our beverages..the table behind us has beverages, and their app order..I went to the cashier desk, where is our beer..."oh it is coming" then one glass of water is dropped on the tab le, we told Amanda no water!! Beer came...and then another glass of water was dropped on the table. We asked, where is the pizza..told by another person..it is coming...1 hour later....after being told by three different servers pizza was coming. We were given no explanation as to why it was taking so long...I walked to the cashier desk, asked to pay for the beer, and cancel the pizza. There were four people working all standing in the area, Mark in the purple shirt, who we were told earlier was training someone new..He didn't seem to be able to put up the pirce of the beer on the computer. Hopefully he was not training someone how to be a bad server. i asked for a name or business card to write a complaint, no one seemed to be able to provide that information. Finally another male standing there, said your beer is compliment. Thank you and we left. This is so unfortunate, the location is a good one, in East Cobb. We have eaten there before, service has always been slow but pizza are ok. After this experience, we will not return and we will tell as many people as possible to avoid Mellow Mushroom!1

Pizza

By Jose O |

They have a great selection of pizza and topping with a wall of draft beer. They staff was fast and polite.

No better pizza around

By Paige B |

They have whole wheat crust is great. Salads are great too! Fresh ingredients, friendly service. Patio area is great and Thursdays there's great music.

Great gluten free pizza

By Alan C |

This was my first visit to a Mellow Mushroom. The gluten free pizza base was great, a really good pizza. I’ll be back for more pizza

I cannot rant and rave enough...the best by far! Nothing compares.

Consistently Good

By Melissa H |

Can't argue w/ MM pizza - we use the Emory MM and our orders are always fresh, hot and yummy, no complaints here

To me they are the best...

By Jeff T |

To me they are the best. The crust has a slight sweetness and is not too chewy. Good local atmosphere and a good place to take the kids.

We are regulars

By Laura S |

Today when we went...the waitress knew our lunch order. Last time I threw her a curve and ordered something different...and she even remembered that to ask which I wanted. :)

Yummy Goodness

By ladonnam87 |

Love love love love this place! The food is outstanding and the staff were delightful. Many return visits ahead.

Giant Pretzels. Good Times.

By Megan F |

My hubbs and I were meeting some friends here and decided to go with the Pretzels for a snack before our buds arrived. We went with the whole order (6 pretzels) thinking that would be enough to start us off. Man! The pretzels were HUGE! Ha! Our waiter even told us to try to not eat them all at once!! Hahahaha! Boy, did we look like a couple of hams. They were yummy though, and we definitely took some home. If you haven't ever had them before, they are just pizza dough shaped like a pretzel. We also went with a gluten free pepperoni pizza. We aren't gluten free folks, but gluten free pizza will rock your world. Especially if you love a good thin crust. You can eat an entire GF pizza without feeling like you're the size of a smart car afterwards. I highly recommend!

Great!

By VivAtlanta |

We love the Mellow Mushroom. We have never had bad service or bad pizza. Friendly staff. Food is always great!!

Baseball team dinner

By getfit805 |

Phoned in our group of 22 and order. Pizza and salad was on our menu.food was great as well as the service.

Was better before.

By khunjerrybkk |

Visited in 2012 March and was disappointed regarding the quality of the food (pizza). It was basically TASTELESS. The restr. needed a good cleaning (floor, tables, chairs, windows). Service was AVERAGE and the portions were also. It was certainly NOT AS GOOD as I had remembered it in 2007 before retiring in Asia.

Average

By cmehend |

I really wanted this to be excellent because I've eaten at a few in other cities and they were great. This pizza today was just ok. I got the white pizza which is usually good, but it was very dry. Service was good.

Good Food, Atmosphere

By Jeff F |

My wife and I ate here twice while visiting from out of town. Both times we were seated immediately (during dinner hour) and both the service and the food were prompt. The pizzas we ordered were excellent. We would definitely return here.

The Mighty Meaty pizza is the bomb.

The Mighty Meaty pizza is the bomb.

Great Mushroom Soup

By 4tamtam2 |

This was our first time visiting Mellow Mushroom. I was not very hungry so the kids ordered pizza and I ordered the mushroom soup. When my soup arrived I was a little disappointed becuase the serving was very small. However, once I tasted it, my disappointment vanished. This was the best mushroom soup I had ever tasted! The pizza, however, left something to be desired. I was not impressed at all.

Really, really, really wanted to like this place

By bmalbert |

My first experience with Mellow mushroom pizza, was at this location. After picking my wife up from work, we decided to go after hearing all the countless recommendations from friends and the like. Man were we disappointed. The service was awful. We were getting our pizza to go, and first we waited at the counter for 10 minutes before the cashier even took our order. Then when we finally did order we proceeded to sit there and wait another 70 minutes tor our order. Finally my wife asked what the wait was, and we could hear one of the cooks says "We put that order out 40 minutes ago". Well needless to say we didn't get it.......after searching, it was discovered that somebody put the pizza on top of a refrigerator instead in the pick up window. There it sat for 30 minutes until it got stone cold. Upset we asked for another pizza, that was whipped up relatively quickly in 15 minutes. Aggravated, but somewhat satisfied we left. After our 1 1/2 hour long adventure getting dinner, we were starving, so we cracked the pizza open in the car and to our suprise and dismay, it was cold, and tasted like it had been sitting out. We were suspicious that they just reheated the other pizza and gave it back to us, but too hungry and aggravated to deal with them anymore, we just left and stopped at Panera on the way home.

Wonderful service and food!

By Theresa E |

Thank you to the management and crew at Mellow Mushroom/Powers Ferry! We love your pizza and salad, along with your warm welcomes and excellent service! Thanks for always making our dinners at your restaurant a wonderful time for us!

Best pizza I have ever had!

By Debra Geist |

After a busy morning at the Georgia Aquarium and then across the park to Coke World, a lunch at the Mellow Mushroom downtown, ( about a 2 block walk from Coke) was fabulous. For just two of us, we split a large salad, then ordered the small 10" House Special. (10.99) The stone baked crust was outstanding!!! The bacon crispy and good, the veggies not overdone, and lots of chewy cheese. We loved it so much we went back again on our 5 day stay in Atlanta. The staff was friendly and attentive. It is a modern decor, with five or so TV 's each playing a different sports channel, so you can keep up on a game that may be happening during your visit. It could get a bit noisy when full, as there are alot of hard surfaces. Check out the giant mushroom sculptures hanging from the ceiling; very cool.

Great pizza and fun decor

By suzengarden |

It's mellow - classic pizza! Love the white pizza, as well as most of the other special pizzas. The decor is classic rock.

Kind of loud

By flipflopsbeach |

Love the meatball appitizer, all pizzas are great, love the philly sandwich too.

Good Pizza

By baseballseven |

They have some good pizza. I had been wanting to try a Mellow Mushroom because I have seen them in many cities. Finally had the opportunity and it was great. They were doing trivia the evening we were there and some of the people were really into it. It made it an enjoyable atmosphere. The sound system needs some work. Sounds as if a speaker needs to be replaced which was distracting. Service was good.

Good pizza

By ed78 |

These folks offer quite the variety of pizzas. While my son thought they were great, my husband and I thought they were... good. We did feel they were a bit on the expensive side.

Wanted a great pizza

By Lindsay Ashworth |

I was in the mood for pizza and my cousin said let's go to the mellow!! We went down there and ordered the house specialty absolutely phenomenal keep up the good work and the drinks weren't bad either!!

Very good pizza

By Travelseeker777 |

Great selection and very good pizza. The can get a bit costly for pizza but the food is good. My 23 year old son swears it's the best pizza in town. I recommend it.

Convient Location

By randyman111 |

The food was good I had a Philly Cheese Steak it was within walking distance of my hotel but it smelled a bit smokey

Over-Hyped.

By Dora R |

I've eaten at Mellow Mushroom twice (once in Chattanooga and once in Atlanta) and I wasn't impressed either time. Both of the pizzas I've tried from them have been way too greasy for my taste. They have decent cocktails though, so there's that.

Good Mellow Mushroom, Nice Staff

By TarHeelBorn1 |

This Mellow Mushroom meets the standards of other locations. The staff were friendly and the food was very good as usual. They have a few TVs where you can watch sports, but they were not overly loud so as to create a poor atmosphere. Convenient to nearby hotels.

Yum

By Scarlet P |

Pizza is the greatest. What's not to love? The place is always hopping and the food is great. Makes you feel young at heart.

Great Pizza

By dkkmclark |

We had the works and it was delicious! We were able to call in ahead of time for take-out. They did have a large area to dine in however. The service was very good.

Wonderfull

By Simon D |

Good food great price excellent sub and calzone great staff nice place good beer super special just wow accrosbthe street and they gave us great sticker

kudos to staff

By judyAlabama |

We recently ate at this location, and even though the food was good, we thought we should comment on the staff there. It's Atlanta, so of course we had to wait, but the young lady kept us constantly informed as to how much longer it would be--turned out to be only about 10 minutes. Then we were given some of the friendliest service we've seen in a long time. Even though they were extremely busy (group of 20 outside), every server seemed happy to be there, a real rarity nowadays. So just want to let them know how nice it was to be in a place that seemed to be happy to serve us. thanks!

Great Pizza

By kmonstrola |

Their pizza is one of the best around. The sauce is perfect! High Quality ingredients and a build your own option. The pretzel knots are to die for as well.

Loved the pizza and pretzel breadsticks

By Happy_Traveller0523 |

Great pizza and greek salad the first time here. Second time we ordered pretzel breadsticks, a calzone and pizza. The pizza is baked on a stone which makes the crust crunchy and sooooo good. The breadsticks are to die for! Calzone was cheesy and tasty. Salad dressing on greek salad was very good. Excellent selection of beers, fun trivia game on Wednesday night and good service make this a great place for singles or families. The new location downtown is beautiful with large cooper mushrooms hanging from the ceiling.

I love

By charline f |

great place to eat! The best pizza in town by far! I love location because it was across the road from our hotel

Atlanta's best pizza

By BPrice23 |

By far the best pizza in Atlanta in my families opinion! So good!

Yum. Best pizza.

By Pathfinder66870 |

Yum. Best pizza.

Worth the calories

By mrsblizz |

You might want to check out their menu online because I was shocked at how high in calories these pizzas were. However, they were absolutely delicious. Reasonably priced, and had a lot of different pizza's to choose from. Not your everyday pizza joint. Very very good.

Chunky Filling, Soggy Dough

By Randall O |

Typical uninspired neighborhood pizza place. I ordered a house special with ham and pineapple, thinking it would be safe. The first one came with a soggy, underdone crust and I sent it back. The second one was baked correctly but toppings were huge chunks of everything. The flavors were not married and every bite was as if I were eating a different pizza. The quality of the ingredients was good but the prep work and assembly leaves a lot to be desired. Outside of the scattered chunks of pineapple, green pepper or meat, the rest of the pie was quite tasteless. Needless to say, I won't be going back.

I loved my calzone

By Winstle |

I loved my calzone, but the service was sub-par. We waited forever to get seated, even though there were seats open. We also didn't get our check for an hour.

Great pizza

By bpbindaas |

This place has great options in pizza- including vegeterian ones! The service is good as well. Great atmosphere during college football games

Great pizza!

By Dave W |

Great pizza! Four friends stopped by today. I had the small house special pizza, and ended up taking one slice home. The married couple shared a veg out pizza. The final one had the Havana Hoagie. Everybody liked their food and no complaints from our group. Mellow Mushroom is great chain. This location is one of the better ones. Nice indoor dining. Our group sat on the outside patio, which is huge and has large roof to protect against the weather. Nice atmosphere. Our server was prompt and friendly. Lots of free parking. A little confusing to get here even though it is on the corner of Powers Ferry and Windy Hill. Definitely worth a stop.

Unique crust, large portions

By AuntDi |

Very doughy crust, good toppings. Salads are very good. The pizza can be pretty heavy - definitely not for fans of thin crust.

Average fare, a good meal, good for families

By mundsworld |

Had dinner here with a group from work. We had about 16 people and were seated comfortably in a semi-private space. Had appetizers and pizzas. All the food was good, tasty, and exactly what one would expect at a Mellow Mushroom.

Mellow Mushroom Pizza

By NanaMimi |

Everytime the kids/grandkids come to town to visit - YES - Mellow Mushroom is on their to do list.

Yum!

By mommyp3 |

We chose this spot for dinner because we could walk to it from our hotel next door and it had good ratings on Google. Wow, those ratings were correct! This may be some of the best pizza we've ever had. Service was good. Place is super clean. Glad we discovered this gem and very excited that a Mellow Mushroom is coming to our area soon!

Good pizza at a fair price

By Fiona B |

Good pizza and salad, fairly priced, nice base (I hate a stodgy pizza base). More topping than base. Just what I like

Not bad

By Jonathan F |

Food tasted fine but the service was slow and I don't feel the price was on par with the taste. This was my fist trip to this place though so perhaps it was an off night.

very good!

By R. K. V. |

Still a very good pizza place. The choices were very good and the atmosphere as always very good. Service was "ok" and good value

Good PIzza

By EclaireAtlanta |

Great Pizza. Good selection. The sub selection is good too. It also has a good variety if you are a vegetarian. I find their food consistently good.

Good Pizza – Great Price – Great Service

By Marc C |

First time to this place as recommend by locals and not bad. Had lunch with family and they offer great lunch special that are filling and quick to table – Nothing special but they do offer beer selections and their pizza selection is awesome but not a ‘brick oven’ pizza place. I’d go back as really great service and nice people working there.

Good, reliably good

By DLGilmore |

I've eaten at Mellow Mushrooms in a lot of places. I have never had a bad pie at any of them. Some are better than others, but the Mellow Mushroom pizza is always good, the beer selection is usually pretty darn good and the staff are almost always good. It's not great pizza, but it's darn good.

Fun and Funky!

By KarenMackDrozd |

I live in Kennesaw, across from the college. This location is quite popular with the student body. Mellow Mushroom is a fun and funky place to have pizza and beer and there's often live music.

Great lunch spot

By amandagreen312 |

They do single slices of pizza for lunch and have a walk up line instead of sit down service. The people were very nice and super helpful. Pizza was great too. Really enjoyed their hummus.

The best pizza I've ever had. Anywhere. Handsdown. Any Mellow Mushroom. Their consistency from time to time and location to location is great. Go hungry.

Can't beat fresh pizza!

By mrsmills26 |

Pizza is made fresh to order. Service slightly slow but all in all it's pretty good! The night I went they had team trivia... Although we did not sign up, it was fun trying to guess answers to questions... Especially after two double shotted drinks 👍

I love the Pizza here and the atmosphere. This Place is perfect for just about any occasion and the pizza here is great.

Great pizza

By lizylou89 |

We think this place uses quality ingredients for there pizza. Really tasty whole wheat crust. I am usually a thin, crispy crust person but this soft thicker crust had a great flavor. I will definetly go back I am in Atlanta or other city that has the Mellow Mushroom.

Great pizza, very tasty!

By Renato C |

Coming from São Paulo Brazil, place with best pizzas around, this was the one that got my attention. Very different from regular american pizzas, this one has very distinct flavored pizzas. Go for one with pesto on top, yummy!

Nailed it!

By Danainfranklin |

This MM has the magic and the essence of all things Mellow. Nice decor, great servers and a fantastic product. The pizza rocks but Steve's Calzone has my heart.

MMMMM...Pizza

By Braveone |

Always like their pizza. Very consistent .... Usually fast and good service. Locations are many in the right locations for my family.

online order didn't work

By Michael D |

March 11, 2017 Ordered a pizza online that evening; went to pick-up at correct time and pizza wasn't ready; stood around waiting for it while the bar tender told us there was an issue and the manager would come talk to us; the manager brought the pizza to us about 25 minutes after it was supposed to be ready, apologized and told us the pizza was on him and he would remove the charge from our credit card; the charge hasn't been removed.

Best pizza I've ever eaten!

By seashellmom |

We ordered pizza and bruschetta. Best I've ever had. Toppings were amazing and plentiful. Bruschetta was probably among the best I've had, and that includes truly authentic Italian restaurants.

Nice Big Slice for lunch!

By Tracy H |

I stopped in here for lunch earlier this week, it was about 1pm on a Wednesday. We opted to order at the counter, there was a small line but it moved fast. I ordered a couple of slices from the lunch special, they offer a cheese slice for $2.69 or so. I added a couple of toppings, paid the bill and found a seat with the group I was with. All the food orders came out quickly and the servers were very friendly. The slices I got were so big that 1 was enough for lunch and the other went home in a go box for later. It has been about 4 years since I last stopped in here but I won't wait that long again!

Great Gluten Free Pizza

Best Gluten Free Pizza I' ve Had Tried 3 different kinds and liked them all.... Great Job Hope to be back

Ah, I Miss The Good Old Days

By lexcyn1 |

I started frequenting Mellow Mushroom in Sandy Springs in 1974 when I was a kid. Ah, the '70's - cool 'hippie' types tossing the pizza dough (sometimes it hit the floor, sometimes it hit the ceiling) and murals of the Cheshire Cat on the wall along with a toilet filled with plants in the main dining room. The location used to be a service station if the old timer's memories serve but it was an eclectic and fun place to read Creative Loafing and chat with friends while you waited on dinner. It all just heightened the experience of an awesome hang out with the absolute best pizza ever. Though sadly that store is gone now and has relocated to a larger place up the road and the few stores have now become a chain that is more family oriented and less 'alternative,' the pizza is still usually pretty good (and probably a lot cleaner these days). I don't go there as much as I did and I really miss sitting Friday and Saturday nights at the 'Shroom enjoying whatever music the staff was listening to on albums or tapes and kicking back anticipating a delicious meal. I'm waxing nostalgic . . . Mellow Mushroom is still a good place to get a decent pizza despite the more 'corporate' atmosphere and there are a few locations where there is ever so slight a nostalgic vibe now and again.

Pretty good pizza

By Sierra B |

As far as pizza goes, the city definitely has better, more authentic options. But this is good for something casual and quick. WAY better than other chains.

Good eats!!

By ATLTravelDiva |

I fell in love with the chicken Philly. It was just like home (Pittsburgh) to me. I think this is as close as it could come to a good Philly. The pizza and calzones are awesome as well. Drinks are pretty nice and the service was nice. Good family atmosphere being the tables are not that close to the bar area.

Great for Groups!

My husband and I held our wedding rehearsal meet and greet at this mellow mushroom. The service was so great. Our two servers where so attentive and we never waited for anything. Dave Sykes was awesome from the beginning. He was able to give my husband an idea of what would work for our group of 35. I would definitely recommend using them for an event! Our food was hot and they really did a good job with timing the appetizers and the pies.

Good Food; Large Selection; Great Staff

By Two2FortheRoad |

The restaurant is large with several dining areas. We visited on a Friday night and although they were busy, service was good. I had a personal pizza which was large enough for two. My husband has a calzone. Both were delicious. Lots of items on the menu so you may have a problem making up your mind, but the waitress was helpful with suggestions. The manager circulated to inquire about the food and service which is a good sign in any restaurant. We hope to return.

Love this pizza!!!

This was my first visit to this location but mellow mushroom is consistently great. The crust is tasty and the toppings always seem fresh. The service was very good and are entire group enjoyed their meal. This is what pizza should aspire to be.

Great Food - Good Luck Parking

By dennis1027 |

When looking at the Mellow from the outside, it doesn't look good from the outside. However, like most things, it's what on the inside is what counts. The food was great and the menu selection was even better. I highly recommend a specialty drink. The kids had a blast as well. One word of caution, I recommend parking in the garage around the corner, the parking in front is very tight.

Great lunch

By Tim H |

Stopped here on a Sunday afternoon for lunch recently. My family really enjoyed the pizzas and the atmosphere. Prices were reasonable. Our server did a great job and was very attentive. We will go back again when we are in the area.

Always satisfied

By nichol k |

Staff is real friendly and actually talk to you instead of that fake smile act. The food is great, exactly what I expect when I find a Mellow Mushroom Pizza place. I'll go back again for sure.

Good pizza, fun times

By Nirav K |

This place is really good. The pizza is excellent and the mushroom soup is amazing. I've been there twice and have had the mushroom both times and I'll have it again when I go back. Atmosphere is great, good for families and also good for just relaxing.

Always Yummy! Chicken Caesar Pizza!

By C G |

We have been coming to this restaurant for years, their service and pizza is always so good. We get the classic crust instead of the thin crust and their pizza is always good paired with a glass of white wine or sangria. We literally crave their chicken caesar salad pizza....although it's no longer on the regular menu the chef prepared it for us from their old menu. It's like pizza and salad all in one....there is a pesto/caesar dressing on the chicken with white cheese and then salad/tomatoes on top (see picture). It at least makes you feel like you're eating healthy pizza (smile) and it's delicious!

Best Pizza in town

By DyanR |

Mellow Mushroom closed in Douglasville and now we have to drive into Atlanta for the best. The crust is the best I have ever had. I will even eat meat if they put it on the pizza. Good salads too!

Good pizza, but pricey.

Went for lunch. Had a great tasty pizza. They have an extensive glutten free pizza menu. Service was fast and personable. Will defiantly go back when in Atlanta.

Love love love Mellow Mushroom

By gdthomas |

Mellow Mushroom was our go to Lunch place when I worked off of Wildwood. We loved the Mushroom. Specialty Salads, Made to Order Pizzas, All you could ever drink. It was the place to go. Friendly service. Love it.

Great pizza!!

By Myles H |

We walked over from our hotel at 9:45pm in hopes to get a gluten free pizza, however, they were out of gluten free. We understood since it was so late. The pizza we had was amazing!! It was a build your own with green pepper, pepperoni, sausage and the signature crust.

Study Time

By Philly2087 |

This was a nice quite place that I went to study in the evening!

big and tasty

By Carla U |

The flavor is awesome, the price is good for the size as well. Best pizza restaurant I have been in a long time!!!!!!!!!

Unique Pizza

By Christina P |

This is a great place to go if you're looking for something different. Try one of their pizzas and you won't be disappointed. The only reason it didn't get all 5 stars is because when they get busy, the food takes forEVer to come out. I realize they are baking the pizza when you order, but an hour to wait for food gets a little long.

Good for families

By lulukale |

Pros 1. Great for small kids 2. Casual 3. Good big salads 4. Can add tofu to salad Cons 1. Slow service 2. Confusion with what we ordered

Always good

They are very good, any time we go. Whether it's pizza or subs, we've never had a bad meal. recommended.

Having a mellow evening

Mellow Yellow didn't disappoint! Our pizza, wings and calzone were all delicious! Carrington was very caring and attentive. I will return!

Good place for pizza and a beer

By KENTGA |

I've eaten lunch here several times over the years---- mostly on a weekend. There is a good outside patio that is partially covered and their pizza is good---- along with the beer and wine.

Consistently great pizza

By Rebinga |

This is our favorite Mellow Mushroom in Atlanta/Marietta because the experience is consistently excellent in terms of the quality of both the food and the service. Other recently opened MM locations seem to rely a bit too heavily on HS and college students but at this location, you'll get a prompt greeting that communicates they're glad you're there and they'll make sure you get what you order, the way you order it. Overall, people sometimes carp about the price of MM compared to other pizza places but the quality of the ingredients and the texture of the crust pays for all. And the Holy Shiitake pie with sausage added? It's a beautiful thing!

My Favorite Pizza inside and outside the perimeter

By Touring Galapagos |

We have tried to explore all the pizza joints around snellville and some fit in a pinch but when you want a consistanly good pie with the most creative toppings we always come back to Mellow Mushroom.

Simply Delicious!

By cml3660 |

Great variety and very large portions. I always end up with a carry-out box and no room for desert! I am a fan of spicy food sO I am equally pleased that they have buffalo style dishes in addition to Tabasco sauce to add to the spice!! Sounds meager to some; for me, it keeps me being a steady Mellow Mushroom fan!!

Great pizza, lackluster service

By pfm11 |

We went here on a Saturday night after watching a local college football game. We like to come here and get good pizza and watch a few minutes of the evening college football games. On Sat. Oct 3rd, all the tv's were turned to one game (definitely not a marquee game). When asked to turn a few of the tv's to the bigger games, the requests were met by blank stares and inaction. It took quite a while before they finally fixed the problem. It also took 15 minutes to even get a server's attention for ordering drinks. While the service was unusually lackluster, the pizza was quite good (as always) and they had an excellent vanilla porter on draft.

The best pizza around

By dlitton |

The crust is the best around. Made with spring water. That makes their bread pretzels the best too. Love every pizza I ever tried there!

Best pizza in town!

By Bob P |

Our first visit to Mellow Mushroom was the Snellville location...WOW!! Have tried a number of their other locations since then. They vary slightly, probably from using different suppliers. But have never gone away either hungry or unhappy.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!

By Rachel P |

I cannot say enough good things about Mellow Mushroom Pizza. The options are endless and the pizza is better than any other. This review is making me hungry.

As good as it gets.

By CrashDecatur_Ga_ |

I don't want you to be disappointed, the mushrooms aren't really magic, that's why I only rated it Very Good. But as far as having to comply with laws and stuff like that...it's the best (expletive) pizza you'll eat. I recommend the Fat Tire beer to accompany.

As Mellowmushrooms go, the pizza was not as good as some others!

By Tripsaroundtheglobe |

We love Mellow Mushroom pizza and frequent the MM in different cites when we visit. Compared to other MM's the pizza here was just okay. The location is great and the service staff very friendly.

Catering

By Paislee G |

I ordered Mellow Mushroom Catering for 2/26/25 & 2/28/25. Damion assisted me with setup, and he was great. Very professional& helpful.

Great Food, Awesome Decor

By Ryan Marsan |

This restaurant was literally right next to our hotel. I'm very glad we chose to eat here, because the Buffalo Chicken Pizza was one of the best I've ever had. The service is fine, but could've been quicker seeing how few people were in there. The decor is amusing and adds to the friendly atmosphere in here. A great, affordable pizza place right downtown!!

Yummy pizza and calzones!

By Marcia T |

We love- love- love mellow mushroom. Had the holy shitake pizza - so delicious if you love mushrooms! Also enjoyed the chicken calzone!

Wondering what the attraction is?

By AL H |

We did not like the pizza but are surprised at the number of restaurants in the are. We come from Chicago and there are no mellow mushroom restaurants in the are. not impressed

Yummy pizza and sandwiches

By vlmontero |

Nothing is better than a white pizza or hoggie! great food at a great price

Overrated!

By Julio4MVP |

The pizza is not bad, but it is certainly nothing to write home about. The calzones and other food items are just not done well. The service is very spotty no matter which one you go to. There are many better options for pizza in the area.
