The food the food the food!

By allisonkind |

We had the most unbelievable braised pork and chili Colorado here last weekend. We went to the area planning to go to Cantina Laredo and they had closed. all I can say is I'm so very glad they did. Not that I wanted them closed, but we went to Mesero's instead and it was worth eating there a few hundred times a year.

Love the green sauce

By debrajkennedy |

When you have your chips, there are multiple sauces. I love the green one. I've eaten dinner and just hung out at the bar, and all times it has been wonderful

Wow!

By HopeG123 |

Great service, great drinks, great food. Very accommodating with requests for our child's food. Went off menu for her.

Excellent Tex Mex

By Patrick Z |

Went to Mesero on a friends recommendation. From the outside this place didn't look like much. Rainy night and heavily tinted windows so I couldn't see in too well. Once inside there is a nice modern restaurant with very helpful waitstaff. I had the two taco meal and added one taco. All were excellent. House chips also excellent. Really liked the place and the meal. Cant go wrong eating here.

Great Mexican Food in Dallas, TX

By daisygirl32018 |

Lovely atmosphere, it is in a renovated house. Excellent food, make reservations though there is always a wait. The wait staff is very friendly and personable,

Nice upscale neighborhood place

By J Person |

I have eaten at Mesero 5-10 times over the past several years, but never got around to reviewing it. It is a cool, upscale neighborhood restaurant where we often take out-of-towners (think: Yankees who don't really know good Mico/Mexican food). I think I take it for granted, unfairly so. It's a hip looking spot, with people of all ages, including families. The wait staff is very professional and solicitous. There are tables, plus large booths. The drinks are excellent, with some fun twists. They bring you cups of chps with three small bowls of salsa. The appetizers are solid. My favorite is the shrimp ceviche, a largish log that is flavorful (with chunks of avocado) and very fresh, but there is also queso and guacamole, both good. They have a broad range of dishes on the menu, all good. I have had the Caldo Pollo, with a great broth. I have sampled the various entrée salads--all excellent and fresh, from the Baby Kale salad to the Campesino. Lastly, the tacos are also nicely constructed and tasty. You can't really go wrong. At one point it was a hot neighborhood place, but Jose has stolen a bit of its thunder. It has not affected the food or the service--it's just a little easier to get seated!. One other note--it's not inexpensive, but you won't be embarrassed bringing your friends.

First night in Dallas, our hostess directed us to Merero's for Supper

By PandoradeBalthazar |

Awesome food! The community appetizers were great, the table sauces were lovely and my fav was the feta, tomato, olive oil dip..in fact I added it to the ceviche dish and yummy, it added greatly to the wonderful ceviche dish. The chicken pictured is our hostess' favorite, and the combination plate number 4 was great too. Lively, a bit noisier than I like but the staff and chef made us quite at home. Our friends loved the margaritas, and we looked forward to a return trip.

Great atmosphere

By JWDal |

The food here is great. I usually get one of the enchilada dishes, but my sons are huge fans of the Mexican fried rice. The atmosphere is just right. It's buzzing but not too loud. It's sometimes a little kid heavy at this location, but not enough to ruin an adult experience.

It is different but very good

By Jim S |

Went there for lunch today, making reservations with Open Table, and had no problem. The entrees are great, BUT, the appetizers were fantastic and will ruin your main meal, if you don't watch out. Our wait person was fantastic, Israel, and he knew the menu, hands down, and would impart to you. We had brisket tacos, and 3 different kinds of quesadillas.

Not my favorite Mexican Restaurant

By Dianne W |

In my opinion, this is a very average and over priced Mexican Restaurant. Whenever someone suggests going here, I usually suggest someplace else. Rafa's across the street is much better.

Great Find! Happy Floridians!

By Jeff P |

We flew into Dallas from Orlando around lunch time and on the way to our hotel via Lovers' Lane happened to see Mesero in an upscale shopping area. What a great find! Fun vibe via sound and decor, great manager Carmen and excellent server. Freshly made chips and complimentary trio of sauces with a spicy tequila drink set my mood. I had an amazing pork entree and our table of 6 all were very satisfied.

Top Notch Mex

By Austinamherst |

Mesero opened in Dallas with a seasoned operator and astute investors with several locations creating a great unique atmosphere in each location coupled with outstanding food. Dallas is home to several of the country's best Mexican food and Mesero should be a must on anyone's list. I am partial to the Mole Enchiladas and love the variety of sauces they have with chips including the traditional red sauce. My personal favorite is the orange sauce. The staff are pros and you will love the experience.

Good lunch

By Lee64SS |

My wife and I stopped for lunch. This was our first time to eat at this restaurant. We both ordered the El Miguelito and found it to be very good. We were also impressed with the service and the friendliness of the staff. Yes we recommend this restaurant and yes we will frequent it again.

Nothing special

By Graciela75008 |

We visited Mesero with hopes of finding a great neighborhood restaurant. I read somewhere that it was not your "typical" Mexican. When I saw that review, I immediately thought "Ah, Southwestern but not Mexican, like some great restaurants we went to in Arizona". Well, not this one. It is plain and simple TexMex. The decor was very 'hip', quite contemporary, warehouse style. This type of decor is visually quiet appealing but, unfortunately, completely hinders the opportunity to have a regular conversation, the level of noise was unbearable! But, since it is a "family" restaurant, and not pricey, I wasn't expecting a quiet and peaceful atmosphere. Service was attentive and cordial. They did mess up our order and brought the appetizers and two minutes later the entrees. I disliked this very much as I only enjoy food that is hot when it is meant to be. The waiter apologized and offered to keep my "fried rice a la China" warm while I ate my Ceviche. The food was uninspiring. The ceviche tasted fine but it was on the dry side (in real ceviche, there is always the yummy juice the fish is marinated in, which often times is the best part, like a cold fish soup). My fried rice with a fried egg on top was so so. The rice was tasty but the pieces of pork were somewhat charred on the bottom, which made them sour. The fried egg was more like a hard-boiled egg as the yolk was cooked, but this could have been due to the need to be kept warm under a light of some sort. At any rate, the egg was also charred on the bottom and inedible. Two guest had fish taco, both commented that it would have been better not to have breaded the fish, as it was already in a soft corn tortilla. Flavor was ok. Another guest ordered the shrimp taco and again, nothing special. We decided not to try the desserts. Of note is that the wine list did not offer value, most of the wines were not well known and the cheapest glass was $9 and there was only one or two for that price, the rest went up to $16. Overall, we were not impressed at all and doubt that we will be back, which is kind of unfortunate, as it is quiet close to our home. Oh well, Dallas has lots of great choices.

THE BEST MEX IN BIG D!

By Gbusiek |

Maybe not rated as such but to this old Mexican food homer this is simply the best in Big D! I don't have a favorite dish as it's ALL good. But I may be partial to the beef fajitas. Don't discount the enchiladas though . They are great as well. Great crowd, great ambiance, great service and above all great Margaritas!

Great evening

By NoraK22 |

Had a graduation dinner here with family. We enjoyed quite a few El Santo's during the evening along with our appetizers and meals. The shrimp ceviche is quite good and I enjoyed my tacos, one fish and one brisket. We were a party of eleven and at times there was a bit of a disconnect from one end of the table to the other. The wait staff did not tell one end the other had ordered both drinks and apps so the other end ordered just drinks. Not a real issue though and we as a group could have communicated to each other how we were ordering. The atmosphere was fun and relaxed. I would definitely come here again when I am in Dallas.

Mexican that sets the bar

By Tour775034 |

We were visiting Dallas. Our city does not have very good Mexican, so why not find great Mexican in Dallas? I did my homework on-line and decided on Mesero. Never, never have my wife and I tasted such excellent Mexican food. The braised pork was memorable. The Cinco Leche Cake was worth the plane ticket. Israel, the manager, took special attention with us. Our waitress was exceptional. Nothing but praise. If you want to be ruined for anything less, try Mesero.

Friends birthday lunch

By Nkadma |

We were a group getting together for a birthday lunch and we are from four different cities. Everyone enjoyed their order we laughed and told stories. The restaurant is charming modern and serves delicious tacos I had shrimp. We all really liked our orders.

Great lunch

By AcornOwl |

We popped in for a quick lunch, looking for a respite from the heat. Mesero didn't disappoint. We had a nice table, socially distanced from others, and the food and wait staff were great. There were several celebrations going on in other corners of the restaurant, so this must be a good place for family and friends to gather and celebrate.

Family dinner before 6pm, apparently children are not welcome here

By Matanitravels |

I came in before 6pm with my husband and child and the manager insisted that we sit at a 2 person table, despite having a 3 person party and having multiple other tables open. She said that she was saving the other tables in case bigger parties come in. I guess our party doesn't count. The food is not worth feeling so unwelcome.

Modern Mexican

By skTexas |

Service is impeccable! Beautiful modern decor. Most importantly, though, delicious, fresh food. Serving sizes are just right.

Nice upscale restaurant

By SimonOnVacation |

Had dinner here, to celebrate my Mom's birthday (though we didn't tell the staff, she begged not to) The chorizo in their starter queso fundido was awesome, you can taste the melted cheese blend in with the onions and tortillas, the meat flavour is enhanced! The carne asada was delicious, grilled just right and tender too. Try the Rojas cheese enchiladas, it was very good and the scent coming from the cilantro is awesome too. The fried rice was delicious too, the shrimp, mushroom fried egg and tomatoes are a perfect combo to this dish. Cleaned my plate!

Expensive quasi-Mexican food

By Zotemail |

Being a fan of traditional Mexican food, I often wonder why people would pay ridiculously high prices for poor quality fare from a chain that aggressively tries to pass off quasi-Mexican food as the real thing. I guess there are enough New Yorkers and other non-native Texans arriving in Dallas every minute to keep places like Mesero in business. Go figure. For you natives, head down the street to Rafa's instead.

Excellent Enchiladas & NOT your run of the mill "Tex-Mex" hole in the wall.

By Florimbi |

Upscale Tex-Mex food and atmosphere at reasonable prices. I like this place because the presentation and quality are above most Tex-Mex places in Dallas. Family friendly and a bit noisy at peak times.

Great flavors

By rhpatt29 |

This is an upscale, noisy restaurant. It has a bustling vibe. The menu is very good. The verde chicken enchiladas were great. Sauces are excellent. The other family members thoroughly enjoyed their choices. I will return but if you chose to visit, be prepared for a loud environment.

Lacks Character and has Bad Drinks

By Jaime S |

The food here is exceptional! Wow, I had the Miguelito plate and was beyond impressed with the enchiladas. They use a type of chicken stew to stuff the enchiladas and the sauces were simply perfect. Perfection! I give this place 2 stars and don't plan on returning ever, not because of the food but because of the clientele, overall atmosphere and drinks. Do NOT order a martini here nor the sangria 🤮. Entitled parents of kids who think the rest of the patrons enjoy watching their kids wrestle on the floor - screaming at the loudest possible decible. I should have taken a picture and submitted this to CPS for neglect. Young patrons at other tables being extremely loud and obnoxious. Then there was the group that got up to leave pushing and shoving their rear ends into our faces. Too many tables packed into one big room. The restaurant has absolutely no character combined with ill mannered clientele - 2 thumbs down.

Really Good Mexican

By Gregg C |

Came here to meet another couple who loves the place. Excellent service, quality food with fresh ingredients. Can be very loud! Reservations recommended. Bar service average. My he drinks were a bit weak.....not much attention to mixology. Feels like a quality chain restaurant.

Lovely appetizer's and drinks

By Benjamin B |

I didn't have dinner, but did enjoy lovely appetizers and drinks. The restaurant is well designed, lit, and has excellent service. We particularly liked the guacamole and they have a good cider available for those who enjoy.

Good Mex spot

By haddad007 |

Mesero is good and hopefully can settle in as time goes by. We have been here three times. The servers are very nice but have a language issue. Deal with it>>> The food is delicious and the cocktails are very good and can be modified as requested for less sugar etc. Try the sauces: all six of them. They are good and the roasted pepper is the best. Yes, it is loud but that adds to the vibe. Go try it. You might like it. Its not authentic Tex-Mex but close.

Great Mexican Food

By Andres A |

Without been a fan of Mexican food, this restaurant offers what you usually don’t see in good restaurants, freshly made food with natural ingredients and made from starch. Big kudos for service, it was GREAT, our server was really on top of everything and made our dining experience much better. I wish we had a Mexican Place like this in Houston.

Good all the way around

By GGilliam |

Came in for late lunch. Service was top notch and food was great. Brisket tacos and Tex Mex enchiladas hit the spot.

Excellent Mexican Food w

By elizabethmH3716WV |

Mesero has a fun vibe and great food. A good place to meet friends for drinks and dinner, I have yet to be disappointed.

Return to Glory?

By SkykingCT |

Now that the Addison location is open, I am hoping my neighborhood go-to will return to its former glory. We watched the location being fit out and were there the day it opened. Three menu changes later the food is still good and better than his last effort (Mi Cocina) on their best day.

Getaway Lunch...

By Julie P |

An old friend was consistently posting his visits to Mesero, this amazing mexican food restaurant, so when we got the chance to go, we went! We enjoyed a wonderful lunch!!! Excellent service, delicious blackened salmon with veggies & fish tacos. Lots of fresh flavors in everything... good chips with three dipping sauces, great drinks... we will definitely be back!

Enjoying dinner

By Gary L |

Interesting mix of Tex Mex dishes. Service is very fast but food tastes very fresh. Nice selection of sauces to go along with the chips.

Loud and vibrant

By MDNied |

Great food and an efficient staff. Handicapped friendly. Reservations recommended. Carne Asada is wonderful. Mole is super. Nice atmosphere. Busy and loud.

Attractive Restaurant

By Ghost |

Mesero is a very attractive restaurant with Mexican food that aspires to be gourmet but falls short. I had the pork lunch special and found it to be different from the typical taco but not particularly tasty. The tres leches cake, however, was quite good.

What’s not to like?

By AshWolf |

This is the perfect spot for families! The music is always upbeat (I’ve been here at least a dozen times), the staff is always friendly and welcoming, and the brisket tacos are my favorite! They offer crayons for the little ones and they have a great selection of tequila for us! Parking in the shopping center is a little tedious during peak hours… I recommend getting there a little early.

A Twist on traditional Tex Mex

By Pnut Travel Guidebook |

If you like a good mix of things you don't often see on the menu at your local tex - mex WELL you are in for a treat. Lots to choose from and plates big enough to share with multiple items. A great variety of drinks too - great for lunch and dinner !!

Interesting Mexican Restaurant

By Dru H |

This is a reasonably new restaurant from Mr. Mesero, who also has another excellent Mexican spot not far away in Dallas. The owner/chef has some serious chops--he started with the famous Mi Cocina chain. The food is fresh and reasonably priced. Definitely will become more popular--it's in a space that's been occupied by several other restaurants that have failed. This one won't!

Contemporary Mexican

By txmxsue |

Beautiful contemporary Mexican - not your usual texmex fare here. Clean, sleek atmosphere and low key friendly staff make this a pleasant experience.

Delicious Tex-Mex in a Beautiful Venue

By MJWSanFrancisco_CA |

Really lovely atmosphere, very sophisticated. The food was excellent. As a Californian, I have not had Tex-Mex before and this was a delightful experience. Our server was super. The margarita will knock you on your behind though! I had brisket tacos - so good. Guacamole was rich and wonderful and the ceviche served beautifully in an almost pure rectangle - impressive presentation.

Loved It!

By Brint Ryan |

This is my second visit to Mesero and I found it to be very good. The chips and salsa are superb and the Beef Tacos Asada are excellent. I definitely think this will become a new family favorite like Taco Diner and Mi Cocina. There is no basis for the review I saw marking it poor. The restaurant is new and I would have marked it excellent except that at 2:00 pm with many tables empty we had to wait five minutes for them to bus a table for us.

A Must Have

By David G |

A family favorite. Must have at least once per month. Never a bad meal or service. Thanks for the great memories and Margaritas.

Dessert!

By gogigi2014 |

We went here with another couple after a movie for dessert. We ordered the tres leches, and oh my was it delicious! The portions were large enough to share-1 huge slice per couple. The cake was so moist and fresh. Can't wait to go back!

Excellent appetizers

By mudfoot |

This place has good drinks and excellent appetizers. We had the fresh guacamole, shrimp cervcihe, and quesos. All three were special. The dinners are good, not spectacular.

Great food

By Ali S |

Great atmosphere and prices. Will come back for a second visit :) Really try to not get full on chips and dip before ordering.

We flew all the way from California to eat dinner here!

By 4cats4me |

We were introduced to this place from friends who live in the DALLAS area. This was our third time dining here with them while passing through on the way to Louisiana. The brisket tacos are amazing. I had the number four, a green chicken enchilada and brisket taco. The rice and beans are unique, green rice, and the charro beans were exceptionally tasty. Love the appetizers that they give for free, chips and a trio of queso, salsa and salsa. Everyone else loved their food as well, although I can’t recall what they had as we were all enjoying our libations too much. The mojitos were prepared with fresh ingredients, unlike at some establishment that try to use a cocktail mix in lieu of fresh lime and fresh mint. The margaritas are substantial and varied. The only drawback is it is LOUD when the place is full, which it was, and we could barely hear one another while trying to have a conversation. That was fine in our 20s, but not in our 50s/60s when we are all slightly hearing impaired. 😃That is the reason for the one star deduction.

Great food and atmosphere

By E H |

We reserved a table for 6:30 pm on Sunday night. They had a great table waiting for us in the full dining room. The kitchen is open, the atmosphere is fast paced, energetic. The noise level is high but we are ok with that. I can see that being a problem if you want a quiet meal. The chips and salsa sampler was great. We also tried the Mesero Queso and quacamole and they were very good and fresh. We had one of the pork and chili sauce dishes and the Miguelito plate which were both excellent with good serving sizes. For dessert we had the flan and chocolate, it was a great way to end the meal. The margarita was strong but tasty. The restaurant was very clean, presentation was good and service was excellent. We will be back.

Mexican Fare with a flare

By devonwayne |

Wonderful restaurant with great food. Not your typical Tex Mex. The restaurant is beautifully done and while it is a great casual place it is also elegant. There is no outdoor eating available but plenty of room inside for quite a crowd. Good party place.

Great restaurant and great food

By Kim D |

Had the opportunity to visit Mesero for the first time. Had a girls night out so arrived early for drinks. Loved that we didn't feel rushed and were able to talk for and hour and have drinks before dinner without being rushed. The food was served quickly after we ordered it and every entree was delicious and thoroughly enjoyed. One of my friends is a foodie and she loved it. Definitely recommend this place for drinks dinner and conversation.

Above average noise, average food

By AVGTXN |

Early Friday night. Place was packed. We got a small table for two in the back and still couldn't hear each other talk. I think I burned off my dinner trying to talk loud enough so my companion could hear me. On the meal: chips were average, the three sauces were quite good, the corn tortillas were super greasy and tasteless, our taco and enchilada entrees were OK. Service was attentive. Pet peeve: charging me $1 for four corn tortillas that were the first ever tasteless tortillas I think I've had in 25 years. If you really like Mesero's, go to the one on McKinney Avenue. It's usually much quieter.

Fun happy hour place

By carlinemom |

Very cool restaurant, lots of fun. Food ranges between fun little bites and dull bigger bites. Never had food here that I wanted to order again, but the margaritas are to die for and the waitstaff is so much fun. Some of the flavors are interesting, but the food is presented in such small portions that they all feel like appetizers.

one of the best in town

By br8141 |

Very well done atmosphere, great wait staff. All the food is very good. Not your Tex Mex place. A real cut above. mid to high price range but worth it.

Specialty drink

By Theresa P |

Thursday evening dinner with mezcal mule and brisket tacos were disappointing. The specialty drink advertised at the table looked and sound tasty. It wasn't! I couldn't finished the $14.00 mule drink, which had more ice then mule. Black beans dry, colossal plenty and brisket limited. Rice was the only item that saved the plate from being a total loss. I've been to Mesero location in Addison and enjoyed my dining experience. Lover's Lane not so much.

Great Brunch

By Yusuf M |

Visited this restaurant for brunch. Even though it is a chain, the look and feel is like a nice independent restaurant. The menu is very elaborate. Just like any mexican restaurant, they provide chips and three different types of sauces as you are seated. The chips are really crisp and sauces delicious. We ordered Chilaquiles, Breakfast tacos with brisket and Mesero pancakes. All the three items were delicious and I would go there again to try out other items on the menu.

Great food!

By Lorry T |

We had a wonderful meal with family. I enjoyed my chicken cosidos which was a new dish for me but very good flavor and I would order it again. There was a high background noise level which made it hard to hear each other.

Delicious Tex-Mex

By Birdnerd62 |

Lots of great choices for dinner. Great tasting food, fast and friendly service, chips and salsas were delicious. Decent prices for Dallas. Will definitely eat here again!

Great family restaurant

By John D |

A very modern and upbeat Mexican restaurant. The menu offers all of the regular TexMex items but with a certain flair. There were six of us, including to young girls and there was something for everyone. The drink and beer selections are extensive. We all enjoyed the food very much

Delicious Mexican Cuisine

By Lewis P |

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Dallas. It has a fun, loud atmosphere and delicious food, Classic Mexican done right. Definitely stop by for a great meal!

We liked it!

By slm528 |

We had a business dinner here and loved every bite! Service was quick and thoughtful and our server offered helpful advice for appetizers and entrees. Drinks (I had their house margarita) were fresh and food was delicious. Our table enjoyed the creama queso to start and really liked the three sauces on the table w/ chips. I ordered carnitas and ate every bite! It was fantastic!!

The Best Tex Mex in Dallas

By JimmyGanno1 |

If you are in Dallas looking for a great Tex Mex experience, hit Mesero in Inwood Village. Great vibe in the restaurant. The staff is outstanding making everyone feel at home. Food is exceptional. Everything from great enchiladas to some off the beaten path Mexican dishes. Their shrimp ceviche is the best ever. Shrimp tacos and the carnitas tacos are also the best I have ever had.

Best tex mex i have ever had.

By pentiumii |

This was the most balanced tex mex food I have ever eaten. The sauces that are brought out when you sit down are just spectacular. Again, very balanced flavors that made me not miss the picante flavor I usually crave. While I am thinking of it, if you do like spice, ask for the siete chili sauce for your meal. The combination dinners offer basically a taco and something else, comes with rice and mine came with a slaw. I had the combination number 5, brisket taco and cheese enchilada. The rice has corn, carrots, and not sure what else except for a lot of flavor that perfectly matched the rest. The slaw made the dish, I could probably just have a big bowl of that. I just can't fully express the brilliant flavors of the food. The service was top notch as well. They must have been having a training day because there was a ton of staff and every one of them smiled and looked for an opportunity to help. We couldn't have alcohol on that visit, but we are going back to dallas and this will be at least an every other day experience. With uber, and a great server I believe I can do some damage at their well stocked bar. If you want something a little spicy, even tex mex, but not that heavy feeling, this is your place. I cannot wait to go back. Only improvement, I could have really used a smaller fork

Underwhelming food

By Beems722 |

I requested a quite table and we were seated in the far back of the restaurant. Very comfortable booth and quite enough for a pleasant conversation. Waiter was very nice and not overbearing. We stayed after eating for quite a while. The food on the other hand was a miss. The white queso was tasteless. I ordered chicken tacos and was turned off by a strange tasting cheese. Rice was drier that gravel. Can't remember what my friend got but she left most of it on the plate. On several occasions I have tried to like the food here but think this will be my last visit. Sad cause Meseros in so close to my house. There are too many really good restaurants in the area to continue to eat here. Sorry to say, but No I would not recommend Meseros in Inwood Village.

Great Mexican

By brigida1998 |

We had a table of eight and were taken very good care of. The chips and variety of salsas that you get upon arrival are fantastic. Their margaritas were tasty. The Fried Rice was a big hit.

Just a perfect place for dinner with a family

By chuckbianco |

Took 10 of my family to Mesero's in Inwood Village. The restaurant has a wonderful Tex-Mex menu coupled with some wonderful drink choices. Our party enjoyed a wide variety of mixed drinks, wine, and beer, as well as soft drinks for the kids. I choose the chicken and grits and it was as good as advertised. And the restaurant brought our grand daughter a large piece of tres leche cake for all to share for her birthday. The wait staff is one of the best we have experienced and the food was served hot and together for our large party. Drinks and water glasses were consistently filled and the food the wine and beer choice is outstanding. I would recommend this place for a special occasion or a wonderful place to have dinner before a show. If you come for lunch during the week, be prepared to wait as it is always packed.

good Tex-Mex fusion

By slh2012 |

Very good Tex-Mex cuisine with a contemporary twist. Service is great. It's usually packed and very loud, that's the only drawback. Other than that, everything is good.

Hip Modern Mexican for Business Lunch

By THOMAS B |

Had a business lunch reunion for 12 people today. Very enjoyable experience and a hip, modern setting. Ordered the pork shoulder entree per recommendation of our waiter and was not disappointed. The enchiladas and tacos looked good as well. Next time I will come back for dinner and try their margaritas.

New favorite

By john p |

I consider myself a professional Mexican food critic...🏄.just kidding, but Mesero takes Mexican food to new levels with creative dishes, sauces and unbelievable combinations of basic dishes with new and creative presentations, but in the end it is the service and so it' s name...Miriam and Carmen will make sure you fell welcome no matter how busy the restaurant is and no matter who you get as a server you will feel special and their knowledge of the menu and the preparation is always helpful. I find myself ordering different items every time just to experience the unique preparations ...and by the way Mico is almost always there to ensure things are perfect, JP and Lisa😎🌴😎

Enjoyable Food

By hookedontrvl |

I went here for the first time with some co-workers and was pleasantly surprised. The food is a fresh take on Mexican. It was a refreshing break from the usual Tex-Mex. The chips and different salsas were tasty and the enchiladas and black beans were really good. The rice was just average, but the chocolate flan cake made up for the rice. If you are in Dallas and want some Mexican food that's not the same old stuff then give this place a try.

FABULOSO MIS AMIGOS!!!

By Gbusiek |

Fantastic array of outstanding choices from this upscale Mexican restaurant!..It would be hard to name a favorite. On this night we were celebrating my daughter's birthday and had a party of 16. The service was seamless and spot on. The ambiance was a cut above what you would find in other restaurants of this genre. I chose the Carne Asada and it was cooked to perfection! We ordered many of the appetizers and they all were terrific. The chips and sauces were remarkable as well. Our party had a stupendous time as we all were braced with unlimited Margaritas! Don't miss Mesero if you want an unforgettable experience.

Supper club at Mesero

By cmwithers |

Took a group of friends for dinner. Service was very good, they saw to our every need. Typically they don’t do separate checks for groups, but they made an exception and were very nice about it. Food was excellent! Everyone had something different so it was a good chance to review several menu items. Everyone liked what they ordered and were well satisfied. Several different salsas were presented with plenty of tortilla chips, so appetizers weren’t really needed, though we ordered the guacamole for the group and it was delicious. Prices were reasonable too. The only negative was that the restaurant was very loud, so we almost had to yell at each other to be heard. Maybe acoustic tiles would help. But all things considered, it was a great outing!

LOUD, LOUD, LOUD

By Jim S |

It is so loud one cannot carry on a conversation. The Carne Asada that I had was not very good, but my wife's quesidillas were very good. The amount of margarita for $11.00 is pitiful. About 1/2 of what you get at El Fenix

Great food & service if you don't mind the noise

By watchfulone |

The food is excellent and the service is attentive. The only downside is the noise level; there is too much hard surface in this restaurant and when it is crowded, it is very noisy.

Curbside FAIL on 19 Dec 2020

By Traveler820640 |

Today, for the first time ever, I received the WORST service from Mesero Inwood Village. I placed curbside order #59 at 204pm via the app. I made the HUGE mistake of paying up front and tipping 15%. Over $100 just for the food. I arrived and parked in curbside at 220. The app said approximately 35 mins. They were not very busy so it should not have taken until 239pm. At 245 I had to go in. No one was there to greet me and then eventually a server came by and asked if I wanted to be seated. I said no. Curbside order. She went to check on it and my bag was sitting on the counter in front of the kitchen. She picked it up and carried the bag over to me and said here you go - that’s everything. I asked how long the order had been sitting there and where were my 2 sangrias? She went to get a manager. The manager and other waitstaff seems much more interested in the just carried in Dickies BBQ order bags that were placed next to my waiting curbside bag. The manager finally came over with a bag carrying my 2 sangrias. I asked how long my food had been sitting there and why didn’t anyone greet me in curbside since 220pm. She said since I order this morning, I said excuse me, I ordered at 204pm, and she said oh. I asked again how long my food had been sitting there waiting. She said she just came on and didn’t know. HUGELY disappointing from Mesero. The only reason I gave it 1 star was the food was still warm, but not hot and after driving 20mins back home it was just ok. Get it together. We won’t be back for a while and will reschedule our planned summer work party. A major fail by Mesero and the manager did not seem to care at all. FAIL!

Great and quick lunch spot

By Nate080411 |

We were hear the Friday after Thanksgiving, so maybe it was quitter than normal, but our meal came out in a split second. This place was a last minute decision but it was a good one. We found the chips and dips were pretty could, but the queso was spot on. One of our water glasses broke and the servers were quick to assist and gave us some complimentary food items. Good move. The meal really was pretty good and not your average take on texmex. Especially when you think of a Mexican joint in a strip mall building. I would come here for the food and service if you are in Dallas for any length of time.

Great Spot

Had a delicious meal with a little extra spice and lots of quality. Excellent wait staff and clearly a quality range of offerings. The guacamole spicy version gets my vote and the brisket taco. Super margarita, second is even better. Fun place, can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

Good Food but too noisy to talk

By CS1Portland |

Like many restaurants this is a large space with too many hard surfaces. Impossible on a Saturday night to talk across the table. The food however is very good and the service was good enough. Just too busy for its own good. Cameron tacos, kale salad with Cameron and the del Corazon with Cameron were each delicious. Meserita's are the house margaritas at $12, and the frozen cocktail was $11. Mexican beers at $6. We would not go back mainly due to the high noise level, but the restaurant certainly has a buzz to it for large groups of 20 year old's having just too much fun

Great margaritas

By KauaiLover |

We loved the margaritas! They were the best we've had in a long time. The restaurant is extremely noisy. It was hard to hear the person across the table from you. The guacamole was very good. The carne asada and brisket tacos were good, but they weren't great. I was a little disappointed considering the good reviews.

First time visit - definitely return

By Winston C |

Fantastic service and food. Came here with friends who had an afternoon flight out of Love field. The selection of dips were a surprise treat. Menu items range from light to heavy meal choices. Highly recommend Dailey fish tacos (fried), carne asado tacos and Braised pork dish. I regret that we didn't get to partake the cocktails or dessert so a definite return visit is warranted. Pleasant atmosphere along with friendly staff made this a truly enjoyable visit.

Absolutely

On a recent trip to Dallas I ate here 3 nights out of 4. Upscale and creative Mexican. Had the La Brasa (chicken over chipotle grits) and also the unique Fried Rice (you need to try this). With our group of six one evening, the wait staff brought us a number of delicious complementary appetizers - nice touch. Had two meals at the bar and the bartenders were friendly, efficient and the food came out very quickly. Highly recommend with a group that you make reservations.

Missing the mark

This is the 3rd new restaurant in the Mesero line and I was very unimpressed by the food. The decor was nice, the waiter was fine, but the food just wasn't either. I will say that at first I was impressed with the salsa and chips presentation and thought this was going to be a great experience, but that was the only good part of the meal as it turned out. I ordered the quesadillas with summer vegetables, as seen in the photograph on the website only to learn that after being opened for two days of lunches, the item was already being pulled from the menu and reworked. My only option on the quesadilla was to have the kitchen make me chicken quesadillas. Talk about ORDINARY. Very disappointed. Something a little more creative would have been nice or the insertion of anything additional besides chicken and cheese would have been a treat. The dish came with a cole slaw, dollop of guac and some finely diced pico--all good but nothing stellar, just typical and very ordinary. My friend ordered "Number Uno", which is a an enchilada with mole sauce and a brisket street taco. The brisket was way too greasy and had no flavor, as if never marinated, which if it had been would have helped enormously. The enchilada wasn't stellar either, just so-so. The presentation was great but the food just disappointed. Thinking that the desert "Choco flan" would be a chocolate custard was a HUGE mistake on my part. It was a thick pasty custard under a leche/caramel that sat on a very tall piece of chocolate cake. I don't know which component was worse. Each "layer" was absolutely void of any flavor or pleasure whatsoever. Dreadful! The waiter offered a spoonful bite of the "Cinco leche cake" when he served the ordered desert, literally a spoon with a bite of cake--one for each of us...odd, but maybe he knew the reality of the "Choco flan" and thought we might have been smarter to order the cake? The cake wasn't anything at all...definitely glad we hadn't ordered that. This is supposed to be Mico's 3rd "new" venture after all his past successes beginning with Mi Cocina back in the day. How he could miss the mark this time by so very much is astonishing to me. He was table hopping the day we were there but he didn't come to our table or I would have told him my thoughts and also pointed out the printing errors in the menu. Where is the attention to detail here.....I would like to know what "aragula" "red and yellow beeds" are in the salad with "caramelized onions". Maybe "arUgula", "beeTs" and "caramelized" onions? I had so hoped this would be a great new find and I liked that they had a burger on the menu....something for everyone! But I won't be going back, even if the restaurant hasn't been open for long. Nor will I be likely to try the other two Meseros. Dallas has too many other options!

My favorite new restaurant in Dallas!

By TripsAh0y |

For all you Mi Cocina lovers who want a slightly healthier spin on Tex Mex - welcome to Mesero! The salsas here are phenomenal - be sure to request to sample all 5 (they only bring you 3 at a time). The cocktails and margaritas are very strong and flavorful and give the Mambo Taxi at Mi Cocina a run for its money. The salads are excellent, and the bean and cheese nachos are the best around - even if they only come 4 to an order. Although this restaurant is pretty expensive for Tex Mex - it's well worth every penny! The ingredients are all super fresh, and the white queso with artichoke is to die for! The service is always really great too! The only downside is the noise factor - it can get really loud at peak times.

Excellent food

By SamSammyDog |

Great place to eat!!The steak was excellent and the brisket tacos were the best! The Blanco caso was excellent and the hot sauce and chips was delicious. The only down side to this whole experience was that is was VERY loud. So much so that it was hard to have a conversation with our party of 5. I want to go back at an off time. But the food was definitely worth the trip.

typical inwood village...

By TXHotelSnob |

i love Mesero Miguel on Henderson but this was different. i found it WAY too loud and our waiter was quite snooty. when i asked if my son could get a ground beef taco, he rolled his eyes and said you can't get that here...totally unnecessary. the brisket taco was good and the chips, salsa, and guac - but you can get that anywhere. i'll pass on the the 45-50 year old "upscale crowd" and snobby attitude. plus i like to hear people on the other side of the table when i go out to dinner. good luck!

Fun and fabulous

Took my top achievers to dinner here and it was fun, delicious and the service was great. Definitely a happening place!

Dinner date

By Jose |

Went with the gf for dinner at about 8:30. It was somewhat busy, were greeted well by an awesome lady. Miriam and Carmen are amazing ladies that run this place. The hospitality here was out of this world. Oh yeah, the food tasted so good and I believe the sauces for dipping and in food is so much better than any other place. For appetizer we had the guacamole, the guacamole with quinoa and we also had a ceviche. A must have is the 3 leches cake for dessert. You must go here!!! Israel the waiter is amazing.

in a word - wow

Try this new restaurant. The food is outstanding and the margaritas are excellent. The service staff are so friendly and on top of things. The layout of the restaurant is really nice. The prices are also very reasonable for such a lovely setting.

Upscale Tex-Mex! Contemporary and Great Service!!

By jeff o |

My wife and I have lived in Texas for decades, so we have eaten and enjoyed lots of Mexican Food. Mesero is more Upscale in Quality of Food, Service, and Atmosphere than most Mexican restaurants. The Prices are very reasonable, so you will not be disappointed!!

Excellent upscale Mexican with good prices

By Steve C |

Dallas restauranter Mico has a winner here. The food is fresh and the menu has an upgrade on traditional dishes. You can order anything on the menu, and be happy. My favorites are either beef or chicken enchiladas, fish tacos, and start with the Queso Mesero. Now my "go to" Mexican restaurant in Dallas. Excellent service, and modern, upscale, comfortable interior.

Chic food and people

By 1ICECREAM1 |

Excellent restaurant concept. Colorful and thoughtful layout. The staff is attentive & delightful (the new Beltline location too). Drinks are brisk & flavorful. All kinds of fancy drinks. The wine list is small, but well done. The chips & water arrive immediately as you are seated. The appetizers - sampler plate was excellent. It can be spicy or not == you decide. They present 3 complimentry sauces for you. At our table: The chili pablano, the chicken enchilada, and mole chicken were tasty, with a lot of sauce. Great well dressed crowd !!

Great place for lunch or dinner

By Stephanie H |

Lots of energy in this restaurant; and lots of great food options. While Mexican fare can be found in many places, this is a great place for fresh, exciting, and somewhat unique menu items.

More like the 'chain' it's becoming

By ntxtraveler091 |

This location was on top of its game when opened. There has been a steady decline in the quality of food items. Bar has been consistent. But standard menu items have more of an assembly line consistency and lack of imagination. Enchiladas/nachos now hastily prepared and not the same individualized quality. When the grand jefe is there, things hum along well...otherwise, keep driving.

Fantastic brunch!

By A F |

This brunch was fabulous. I had the best margarita I have ever had, the La Dona. It was fresh and perfect. The Huevos Mesero and the Chilaquiles were unbelievably good! I would eat here all the time if I lived in Dallas. Staff very friendly and helpful.Lovely atmosphere!

VERY loud-food just ok

By BeachyBoots |

As soon as we walked in, we knew this was going to be a problem. We were friends who hadn't seen each other in a while, but we could not hear each other across the table to catch up. Very disappointing. Drinks were OK. For a table of eight they had to refill our salsa and chips probably 10 times. Why not just give bigger portions? And the sour cream topping on my enchiladas was so think and gelatinous-- I had to pry it off my enchiladas.
