Great Experience & Food!

By taramisoo |

Our experience was fantastic. The service was on point! The entire wait staff worked together to make sure we had everything we needed by clearing plates, replenishing drinks… the manager even stopped by several times to check on us. The pasta flight was delicious! It included 5 different types of pasta on a board and was plenty for 5 of us. We also had the meatballs, pizza, and lasagna. The pizza was just okay, but the rest were incredible. They also offer a great late night menu starting after 10 pm. I highly recommend this place!

Overall, good

Intimate and cute place, pasta in line with the fact that you are on the other side of the world and the raw material is what it is. For example Butter and aromas everywhere rather than sweet tomato. Overall, good. Above average, definitely. The meatballs are also good. If you're in Seattle and you want an unpretentious pasta dish, it's perfect.

Overpriced and disappointing

By Jeffrey B |

Food was average…arugula salad was a lot of stems and watery dressing. The friti misti appetizer was large and passable. Eggplant with sauce and burrata was served in a drink glass and inaccessible. We specified bread, wine and salad first. Nope, main dishes arrived, then bread, wine and salad! The waiter didn’t deliver the food or assure the sequencing of delivery! Prices: small print on menu informed that gratuity was optional. The 22% service was to be added to the bill for extra pay for back of house staff. So with a 15% tip, the food was 37% more than menu price! I support the reviewer who opted for Olive Garden….what an expensive disappointment!

Large group dining experience -5 star

By awholenew_world2017 |

We visited Messina with a group of 10 while attending a conference nearby, and the experience was nothing short of fantastic. The server was warm, attentive, and accommodating to our large party. We ordered the pasta platter to share, and it was beyond delicious. The rest of the menu did not disappoint either – every single item we ordered was wonderful. We ordered numerous appetizers and its hard to decide which was the best. Our group was vegetarian and they accommodated us very well. The service was smooth and friendly throughout, even with a large group. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great Italian food, whether you're in town for business or just a good meal. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in the area!

Seattle newcomers first taste of the city

If you’re looking for the perfect combination of outstanding food, impeccable service from Elija and versatile atmosphere, this restaurant is it! From the moment we walked in for a couples birthday celebration dinner, we were greeted with warm smiles from the hostess Min and an inviting ambiance that struck the ideal balance between intimate and lively. Whether you go for a romantic date night or a fun evening out with friends, this place seamlessly caters to all. Now, let’s talk about the star of the show—-their pasta flight. You know a dish is something special when it’s on nearly every table, and after one bite, it’s easy to see why. It’s clear this dish is their pride and joy, and it truly deserves all the attention it gets. Simply put, coming from Los Angeles where great restaurants are in abundance, this restaurant is a must-visit. Come for the incredible main dish that’s the talk of every table, stay for the exceptional service from Elija, and soak in the dynamic atmosphere. Next time we are back in Seattle this will for sure be a stop brining more friends & family along with us.

The social media hype about this place is not worth it.

Went there for early dinner and got the pasta flight board. I only really liked one of the pastas and the others weren’t that good. I’d give it a solid 2.5 but the presentation was nice and the garlic bread and sauce was a 5. Service was slow even with just two tables occupied but the staff was nice. Tried it first the experience but would never go back just because the value isn’t there for what you get even in Seattle. You are better off going to a Brazilian steakhouse or something. $140 total for the pasta flight and garlic bread. That’s all we ordered. No drinks, ni salad, no dessert. If the pasar was a 5 then maybe I’d consider it but for $140 I could’ve gotten my favorite pasta at Olive Garden many times over.

Very good food although noisy.

For a casual night out, this is a good option. Although noisy, the food is very good. I had the sole piccata and my husband the osso buco. Loved the sole.

Great Place for a Celebratory Dinner

By SisBoston |

Our party of eight chose Messina because of its reputation. It’s a very comfortable place with excellent service – Alina managed this big group wonderfully. We ordered lots of dishes for everyone to share, including the omnipresent pasta board. It’s a great way to taste multiple options, although it was not the most popular dish, at least for our group, partly because the flavors decreased as the dish got cold. On the other hand, the fritto misto was delicious, as were the meatballs. The salads were also tasty, and we would recommend any of the bread choices. When the staff learned that we were celebrating a birthday, they surprised us with dessert (free). Nice touch! All in all, we really enjoyed our evening.

Rip Off

Beware: there is a 22% “service charge” added to the bill, which our server told us is retained by the House…. and then prompted us to note there is still a “tip” line where we can add an additional gratuity!!! With tax, service charge you’re paying +32% over menu prices…. plus tip????
