The Food Here Was Good, The Dessert is Fantastic!

By j L |

The food was good and the setvice was great. The Cake🤤 We had the Million Dollar....something..something. I don't remember the name, but if I didn't love myself so much, I would have bought two entire cakes and froze one for a later date hoping that my willpower would be strong enough to keep me from eating the entire cake before company came over!šŸ˜šŸ˜“

Open 24 Hours

By knucklebusted |

We were staying at the Marriott hotel and wandered around the streets nearby looking for a place to eat on Sunday evening as the super bowl was starting. This place was open. We had a quesadilla and chicken sandwich. They were good enough but nothing outstanding. The desserts looked great but we were too full to try one.

Good breakfast

By A2345FUjohnl |

Went early about 6:30 on a Saturday morning This place was empty until about 7:00 when people started coming in. The first floor is a bar and the diner was on the upper floors The ham and cheese omelet was good and only $10.00 which is really low for this area. They have a 24 hour menu which is limited but giving a fair choice. I would return next time I was in town.

Great stop in Atlanta

By Randy K |

We've been to this bar multiple times. It's an easy walk to the Hilton/Mariott hotels in the area. The food's good, drinks are reasonable for Atlanta, and they have Karaoke if anyone is interested.

Real Food - Amazing Desserts

By Nopaperwork |

Ate twice while staying at a nearby hotel and both meals were delicious. Breakfast anytime is a winner - go for grits with butter. Dessert servings and selection of cakes is off the charts! Look for Nancy - a consummate waitress.

My hidden gem in downtown Hotlanta

By Denis O |

This is the Best catfish I have ever had. Great menu, great service. They even made me a milkshake that was not listed on the menu when I asked. Can ya beat that?

The most fun you can have....

By Gma0917 |

In a diner at 2am singing karaoke while eating disco fries and pancakes. Buckle up it’s the ā€œafter workā€ spot for the industry crowd and tourists alike. It’s an eclectic mix of hip hop and country western

Kareoke

By Jane B |

Sucked ..dj would not let me do strawberry wine it was too slow. But yet let other country songs go through. Servers in bar was awesome but the the managment sucked. Not only would not let the song go through couldn’t hear the singers only the music. The worst kareoke I’ve ever been to and I’m an awesome singer. I won’t go back. Be I was told management has to approve the songs that go thru that’s not kareoke that’s bs

Metro Cafe

By Jim T |

The food is good and the service was great! The interior is pretty interesting to look around at. We went on a Saturday late am and thus their menu was a "weekend edition" versus the one on line. A little more limited but nonetheless good. Would go back...

Tasteless omelette and fries

By Nimitta |

Called in here for breakfast. I ordered omelette and fries and the omelette was just tasteless. Not for me I’m afraid.

Food looks better than it tastes

By CountryGurlOnTheGo |

The food is extremely bland, no type of flair whatsoever. The tuna melt was absolutely awful. It was bone dry, the cheese wasn't melted and the bread was barely touched by the grill. On the other hand, the shrimp cheesesteak wasn't too bad.

Some of the worst service EVER!

By BDG0504 |

We had a group of 7 (two of whom were arriving late). They say the first five of us down and set the two extra menus at a table across from us. We pushed the tables together but were told this wasn’t allowed. So we grabbed two extra chairs. Then a few minutes later the waiter comes over and tells us he needs to take them, and that the other two could sit over there, completely separate from the group. They had to kneel to talk to us, despite there being several chairs below us. Also, they had the audacity to add a gratuity despite the waiter never acknowledging us except when specifically called out. Also, the waiter rolled his eyes when we ordered. Granted, we only ordered appetizers and drinks, but it was 11:30 at night. I will not be returning.

HUGE

By India W |

So, it’s a really good thing you have to climb stairs to get to the restaurant because when you finish, you will be glad you had the exercise! I ordered the French toast with bacon and could only eat half of it! Those were the biggest slices of bread I’ve ever seen! HUGE!! My husband and I both got a slice of cake to-go. Again, HUGE! The German Chocolate cake was excellent and moist! The Tiramisu Cake was also excellent! I would go back just for the cake!

Good Food

By Stephen F |

Early morning breakfast and late dining downtown Atlanta

By š•®š–†š–’ |

Good service. We liked the breakfast, nothing really delicious, was just ok. Nice place for a early morning breakfast. There's a toll parking right next to the restaurant.

Unbelievable

By Jose R |

Avoid. Served us a lip stick stained coffee. When we asked for a new one they forgot about the order, and showed up 20 minutes later with the same lip stick stained mug and reheated coffee. The third coffee they brought was indeed in a different mug, but ALSO stained. Thought I was getting pranked. Food was acceptable, not great not terrible.

I finally got to eat here when it wasn't slammed!

By Dan K |

Well, my draft of this got eaten, so let me try again. Staying over an extra day in Atlanta, I finally got to get a table at Metro without a thirty minute wait. The chicken parm I had wanted again since DragonCon is missing from their trimmed-down menu. This was a disappointment. But the gyro plate, another favorite of mine, survived the cuts. My date couldn't decide between the salmon fettuccine alfredo and the chicken, so they obligingly made it with both. The service was fast. My waiter actually remembered me which is impressive given the traffic in there. And, once again, we left being too full for dessert. That always saddens me since their dessert cooler of massive cakes is always impressive on the way in. See you in September, guys.

good food & great cake

By GeorgeTravelsOften |

3-1/2 isn't a rating choice but overall that would be my true rating. Not the best Greek food I've ever had but good enough & lots of it! Service is good! Chicken soup is quite good. Chocolate Suicide Cake, which I came back the next day to try, was awesome!

Oh my!!!

By Ashley D |

Went to this restaurant after a show for young kids at The Fox theatre. We searched Yelp for a casual diner to take two kids and the parents. Ratings were high for the restaurant but we were sadly disappointed. The lower flower was a bar filled with drunken people singing karaoke at ear splitting levels. The restaurant was just above, separated by the staircase. Food was fair but the location was dirty and definitely not what the reviews stated. Some remarks that could be applicable are The Night Shift Kids, don’t look now This is the place your mom warned you about You buy em, we supply em It’s definitely not a family environment

Gyro sauce

By Kenyatta L |

Although the food was good ….Gyro and fries how do you not put the gyro sauce on it or at least ask if you would like the sauce. Who does that? Not happy about that and I was on my lunch break so I couldn’t go back to get any

Probably better for a late night... ā€œafterā€

By ProFOODity |

The fact that they serve breakfast all day was intriguing.... but, not yummy. We had a party of nine, and although the place was near empty they didn’t want to split the checks. So, we said we were three parties of three! LOL. No one’s food was worth writing about. Just average. However, I hear it is great place to go and people watch late at night!

Delish!

By Kia-Goes |

Our visit to this lil spot was just what we were looking for! With great variety & an all day breakfast menu, there's something for every appetite! Staff were friendly & attentive. Our meal was perfect AND delicious!

Metro Cafe

By Derek G |

I enjoyed both breakfast and dinner here and the menu is diverse and what I had was quite enjoyable. I had my first taste of grits there, so I'm a proper southerner now

Great breakfast spot

By Tammy L |

Fast service, plenty of attentive staff, veggie omelet very good, good coffee, good biscuits and gravy. Close to hotels and no wait for breakfast on a Saturday.

Old and dated decor but friendly service.

By Sugah-n-Pops |

I just happen to stumble upon this place as I was looking for breakfast in the area. When I walked in, I was unsure if the place was open. After a few minutes I noticed the staff standing at the top of the stairs, where I was greeted and seated. The upstairs dƩcor was severally dated. After pondering the menu, I ordered an omelet. My server (Reggie) was pretty good, even though he forgot my turkey sausage. This place could use a makeover, but the food was reasonable priced and about average in quality.

Great service and good food

By meanpeace |

We ate here for dinner. The food was good. However who in the world puts mushrooms on a philly? They do... The cheesecake was good, it was just not very rich or filling. It was light bodied with not very much sweetness. The sweetness aspect I prefer. However the creamy aspect was lacking. Overall I would return...

Good food

By Ginger B |

Metro Diner was pretty good. I have the chicken parm sandwich. It was cooked well. Wish the chicken was a bit bigger. They forgot my salad. But finally remembered it. But I was already half way done with my food even though it was said before I started to eat. It wasn’t brought out till later. Everyone else thought their food was decent too. I’d go back.

24-hour diner in the heart of Atlanta's downtown hotel district...very handy!

By Pellaz2112 |

The Metro Cafe Diner is much like a few others in the region -- open 24 hours, with VAST menus (seriously, it's got almost everything), typically large portions, and that display of ginormous dessert cakes that we usually don't have room for afterwards...in fact, more often than not we end up taking leftovers with us. During our visit in September during DragonCon, this was once again the case. (Three cheers for the Sheraton since it has in-room fridges to accommodate those leftovers.) Prices here are reasonable considering the amount of food, and certainly much better than hotel room-service! The food quality is good. I'd hesitate to call it "great," but after all, this is a diner writ large and I'm not expecting gourmet food. I've never been disappointed in any choices here, though. Considering its location near hotels and its hours, this place CAN be quite busy and there may be a wait. We were quite lucky -- especially during DragonCon -- and our party of 4 were accommodated within 5 minutes. I should point out that hooray!, the air conditioning was working this time. For a few years the A/C here wasn't working and they were using fans to cool the place down. Happy to see they were no longer needed.

Outstanding cakes

By Victoria J |

Get dessert and skip dinner. The cake slices were huge, enough for three people. I ordered carrot cake, which was excellent; frosting nice and creamy. One daughter got apple crumb cheesecake - scrumptious, and one had her go-to Oreo cake. For dinner we had chicken Alfredo and salmon, both of which were OK, but not worth the price. Nothing really appealed to me, so I got a salad. It consisted of white lettuce, shredded cheese, a few thick cucumber slices, three mushy tomato wedges, and chicken. Chik-Fil-A serves a better salad for half the price. Maybe the atmosphere is good at midnight, but at 7:30 on a Friday night it was blah.

Breakfast or lunch.

By tammy k |

Had this after an EARLY morning plane ride to Atlanta for a conference. Loved being able to get breakfast or lunch around 10:30 am. Had the two eggs, toast, grits and small slices of ham and it filled me up until i ate again at 6. VERY AFFORDABLE! My breakfast was $10.50 and $2.45 for bottomless coffee.

Pretty Good Diner Option Downtown Atlanta

By BugattiBoi88 |

My friends have been telling me for the longest time that the next time I visited Atlanta we would do a late night dining here and it finally happened! This place is actually really good and I was surprised by the level of good customer service. The hostess sat us immediately and the server was over shortly after that. The menu is extensive so I had a hard time deciding on what I wanted to order. Finally decided on the Geek Gyro Platter which comes with fries. My taste buds were satisfied, No complaints. Great option for a late night meal!

Looooong Wait

By Duanne Aschton |

The food is good at the Metro CafƩ but the wait is just awful. When we went the restaurant was about 1/4 full and yet we had to wait for more than 15 minutes to get our order. Once we gave our order the food arrived pretty quickly (within 15 minutes - we had a lot of food) but then we had to wait another 15 after we ate for our check. Good food just make sure you have nothing to do afterwards.

Great Desserts! Good vibes 24/7!

By The Traveling Critics |

Quick service, huge dessert selection, this is like a old fashioned Diner on steroids with its own dessert bakery! Tiramisu is off the chain! In the evenings they have a DJ, lots of seating, 3 stories! Its a neat concept, open 24/7!

Best after party place you can wish for!

By Natasha Ayala |

After a night of drinks across the street at the Red Phone Booth, we ended up here (Talk 'bout perfect walking distance! lol). Great vibes, karaoke, huge menu selection and open 24/7. Food was fast and tasty! I had the Buffalo wrap and fries. Hands down, the best fries I had in Downtown ATL! Our server Ivan was very helpful. Wish I had good photos to share. Would like to come back on our next trip to ATL.

Great service, tight atmosphere

By James M |

I ate here with my wife on a Sunday. Ivan, our waiter was great. Very personable and eager to do the right thing. My wife and I were seated in a tight spot and food was served very quickly. Additionally, the menu is very expansive online, but much more limited in person. Bottom line, food was good and service was excellent....

Skip this One

By JANET B |

Service was slow. Table was dirty. Breakfast menu was limited. Had to request butter for our biscuits. They forgot our bacon and then brought out old bacon that had been put in the microwave. Had to track down waitress which took forever to get refill on coffee. Definitely would not recommend. So disappointed because the other one on Rockbridge is great.

Nice spot for quick dinner

By Michelle H |

Nice Little Spot in Downtown Atlanta. We stopped in here for a quick dinner on a cold evening when we were walking toward State Farm Arena for a concert. Bar is downstairs on the main level..dining area upstairs. Nice tables with a street view. We had burgers which were delicious and served with fries. Good service and reasonable prices..be aware that, like in the majority of establishments in the area, 18% gratuity is added to your bill. Well worth it IMO, and we added a little since we usually give 20%.

Very Disappointing

By Shelle R |

Over the years that we've been attending the IPPE in Downtown Atlanta I've heard they have good food, but have never had the chance to eat there. When we got there this week we went there for lunch on Monday. The lunch menu is very limited. I can't eat beef, pork or fried foods. Didn't leave much to choose from. They weren't busy at all and the service was super slow. Don't know if I'd go back again.

The Diner Experience

By Dervis G |

Traditional American Diner serving huge portions, food quality was good, taste was good and their cake selection is extensive! Menu has plenty to choose from and coffee is constantly topped up!

Had a blast

By lorinotlori |

Pancakes and karaoke, the DJ was incredible and the cakes were amazing! Such a fun time and they are open late.

Great Choice

By Lorena C |

We were a little hesitant to eat here but we were tired from traveling all day and wanted somewhere within walking distance from our hotel. It ended up being a great choice for the family. The ambiance felt generic but the food was great. No one complained and the portions were huge. Service could have been better but all in all I would recommend to friends for diner food.

Quick service and good prices

By KTBNY |

My friend and I were staying at the Hyatt. The diner is attached to it by an indoor walkway. We had breakfast mid-morning on a weekday. There was no wait to be seated. Our server was fast, friendly, and efficient. The French toast and Greek omelet were delicious.

Great Menu, Excellent atmosphere and Damn good food

By handsmoffcr |

We came in for breakfast, which was lunch time and was seated promptly and excellent service. Ham and Cheese Omelette was fantastic and the seasoning was amazing in the potatoes!!!. Prices were on par and we walked out with no complaints. Some customers while there acted ghetto, yet the Mgr/Owner and the Cashier/Hostess were extremely tolerant and respectful with their responses. Love the sign "No baggy pants allowed" wish we saw more of that, especially when we have our children. Great place to go and right next too the Hard Rock CafƩ and Hooters. Much better food and worth the price, so hit the Diner. Great neon lights and atmosphere, like old school. Love the bar, must be cool at night and on weekend.

Typical Diner

By 80Shaq80 |

We popped in for a casual breakfast on our first day in Atlanta and it was good food with quick service but it was nothing worth remembering. It’s got your standard American diner food and taste. Best thing we tried were the pancakes.

I might try again

By Travon M |

I was in town for the weekend went to metro diner it probably was about 11 at night it was packed they said it was a hour wait but we can do take out it will be quicker me cool so I ordered the Philly cheese steak and fries and my son ordered the chicken and waffles and my girl ordered the grilled pork chops and mash potatoes and two cheese cakes to go a hundred dollars get back to the room lol Philly looked like it was on a over sized hotdog bun and didn't have ti taste to it and small amount of fries pork chops taste old and no kinda taste to them but was tender and the mash potatoes was not good and the chicken and waffle my son didn't have no syrup when I asked was any in the bag she said yes lol I thinking was just to busy and cook was trying to just get orders out I don't no but the cheese cakes was on point to me better then the cheese cake factory

Could have been better .

By Nikole J |

Went for a family dinner . Service wasn’t good . Waitress served but didn’t ā€œcareā€. steak was over cooked and sat for at least 15 minutes before getting checked on and appetite was ruined . They at least took the food of the bill but still ended up paying $60 for a kids hotdog and my wives steak that turned out ā€œokay.ā€ Could have been better all around .

Dinner close to hotel

By Debbie D |

We were staying at the Marriott on Peachtree. Looking for restaurants within walking distance. Found this unassuming gem within two blocks. So very surprised. Quite affordable. Well, very affordable. Varied menu. Great food. Great service. Great prices. The desserts looked divine. I wish I had known earlier. Don't expect fancy. It is really a diner. However, the food is so good and there is something on the menu to suit anyone. Would recommend

Great Service, Great Food, Great Price

By phildinftlaudy |

In an area that is surrounded by pretentious, high price restaurants where service is not a priority, the Metro Cafe is an amazing find...a gem. Service was friendly, prompt, sincere. Nancy was great. You know the service is good when you want to know the name of the server and find yourself complementing and thanking her throughout your meal. The burger and fries were flavorful and authentic. The hostess was on the floor checking on tables and making sure everything was good. Look, I went to other restaurants in the area and didn't feel welcomed or that my business was appreciated. Metro Cafe appreciates its customers and shows it from the time you enter until you finish a delicious meal and leave. Definitely recommend.

Nice Atmosphere

By Highenuff |

Great Food, Fast Service. The tuna melt was great. You must get a taste of the big sliced cake. I don't care for the wait however it was only about 10 minutes on a friday night around 1230 a.m. DJ was on it.Karoke seem to be fun.

3 stars for Karaoke

By jmarie2015 |

If you want to just hang out, have a few drinks, listen to music, and if you like karaoke, then this is the spot. However the food is very disappointing. The menu was blah and so was the food. I know it was a diner but they need to step it up a little I gave it three stars only for the karaoke and atmosphere.

$3 Karaoke fee

By Traveler40253074582 |

You have to pay $3 for a mic cover to sing karaoke. When businesses required masks they provided them when you didn’t have one. I’ve gotten COVID even with a mic cover. Karaoke on Friday is a DJ set and maybe, maybe, if you’re lucky you’ll get a song in. The place was practically empty.

This may become a new tradition!

By Elizabeth O |

My husband, myself, and our friends were in Atlanta for DragonCon over Labor Day weekend. We've always heard about the Metro Cafe Diner, but never have gotten around to giving it a try until this year! We ate there on the last Monday night once the convention was over, along with several other convention-goers, and it was pretty darn good. The menu had a variety of items to please different tastes, and we all go something yummy that hit the spot before we faced the drive home in the morning. I had the Moussaka and Greek Salad, and it was excellent! We will definitely put Metro Cafe Diner on the list for all our future downtown Atlanta visits!

Deliciously Diner

By luxelifeexpress |

Stopped in on a mid-Monday morning before heading the the airport. It wasn't too busy, the restaurant is clean and staff was friendly. Oh and that short stack was delicious!!! I could barely finish the entire meal. Those without huge appetites can share a short stack and add a side of eggs or grits. Definitely a good place to grab a meal if in downtown Atlanta.

Cool place!

By Lorae17 |

Great variety of food! Very generous portions! But the deserts took the cake, literally! The variety of cakes to choose from was amazing. Made it hard to choose just one. The piece of cake was enough for two, if you don’t mind sharing! It had a nice atmosphere too. My knees would have appreciated the eating area having been downstairs and the bar on the 2nd floor. Thought that was an odd set up. We had a great waitress. I would definitely go back again.

Filthy with mediocre food

By Cathy R |

Went here for lunch. It wasn't busy but the food took ages to arrive. Waitress was offhand and had to be asked twice for water and kept disappearing for ages. Food was mediocre at best and luke warm when it arrived. The place was filthy. The floor was covered in bits of trash and food. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting. I'll save you the details.

Great choice of good food. They are open 24/7

By MorrowDad |

Great choice of good food. They are open 24/7 when many other restaurants in the area are closed for covid. The food was tasty with large portions. We also shared a slice of cake from their large selection of desserts. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Terrible experience with Medicare food

By simwbwlp2013 |

The first time I went, the karaoke on Thursday was fun. The bartender was friendly and fun to talk to. I went again 2 days later, my burger was burnt and the DJ, named Jaime (may have spelt that wrong), was different than the one on Thursday and kept switching the order of the people who wanted to sing karaoke. We had a large group of 16 people and 3 people in our group that wanted to sing and every time it was their turn, someone else was put in their place. Not sure why, we asked him and his answer was, "there was a lot going up here". Won't be my karaoke spot any further.

Weird vibe. A LOT of stairs.

By Me |

Holy cow! There's a lot of stairs! I am assuming they don't have an elevator as they saw someone in our party struggling with the stairs early on and said nothing. The wait staff did everything well, but this place was not what we were expecting. We thought it was going to feel more like a classic diner. It didn't. It was a weird set up with basic food. I's suggest passing on this one and try something else. Lots of options in the area,

Typical downtown diner with a nice ambience

Here you can find the typical American breakfast options - pancakes, bacon & eggs etc. good but no surprises. Service was attentive,

Hidden 18% ā€œfacility chargeā€ to dine

By Nash V |

Nov 2022 - First off, restaurant smells/looks like an old 70’s disco bar and had tons of stairs, so if you have mobility issues, or want to eat at a place that feels clean and modern, look elsewhere. Fast forward, we get the breakfast menu and notice the prices are high ($15 omelette etc) but figured it was downtown, and we are already there, so ran with it. Food was very mediocre (omelette was over cooked and charred on both sides), service was very slow, but the kicker was … remember that $15 omelette? When the bill arrives there is an 18% ā€œServicesā€ charge. So I ask the server if that means this restaurant auto adds the tip? Server says no, the 18% is a restaurant facility fee. We would also need to add a 20% tip - so the $15 omelette is now 38% even more expensive due to these hidden fees. Not one sign on the door that prices do not include a 38% mandatory fee, on top of their already outrageous prices for a mediocre breakfast and an even more mediocre restaurant. Thankfully I am a tourist so I only got burned once by this establishment, but want to save all of you (reading this review), from falling for this scam. Screenshot of the receipt showing the hidden service fee is attached. You have been warned….

Impromptu visit for a quick bite

By Tseman |

Stopped by with family at this place to get a bite. Great breakfast. This place will not disappoint and centrally located downtown.

Dinner with a large party

By Amy W |

I visited this restaurant with 13 students and myself while we were downtown at a conference. Not only was our waitress very efficient and more than willing to help with splitting our checks at the end, she was efficient with our food. The food was hot and delicious and most importantly with a group of teenagers it was affordable.

Fantastic place to eat

By Dan&BJ |

stayed in a nearby hotel, so this place was very conveniently located. Food here is great - excellent serving sizes for the price, good service; large bar area, although we did not take advantage of it. Visited during the early evening hours (6:00pm or so local time), so not crowded yet.

Came for food late in a weekday, stayed for fun

By Armando C |

I had a couple of drinks and a hamburger . It was late and I was running out of options where to eat. Upstairs was packed but you can order food in the first floor. Music was upbeat, dancy, happy, energetic. Karaoke was a lot of fun. Shoutout to the DJ that also sings to promote the karaoke. I sang a couple times and had a blast there. (Covid precaution, they make you use a disposable, personal mic cover) I love that dinner.

Linch

By Richard T |

Decidedly average... had a Reuben and all I can say was I have had better. The service is fine but the diner is tired. Needs a facelift. No soft drink menu and website needs tonne updates as certain things not served anymore. Not bad but not good just indifferent

Quick and easy

By Karyn H |

We were in town for the Peach Bowl. After the Gator win, all the restaurants were packed and my daughter and I were starving and just wanted something quick to eat. The hotel had recommended this place, so we decided to give it try. We got a table in less than 5 minutes and our waitress was so attentive and speedy. The food was typical diner fare, but it hit the spot. I changed my side to vegetables and they were very fresh and tasty. We also ordered a to go meal and the waitress made sure that came at the right time, so we didn't have to linger to wait on that once we were done eating and it was still hot when we got it back to the hotel. They had a beautiful selection of desserts, but we were so full we did not try any of it.

Loved it!

By darryl227 |

Me and my fiance went there after a party at the nearby hotel at 3:00 AM. Our food arrived in only 10 minutes and it was great! We went back the next day and got great food and service again. If we are in the area again we will go there without hesitation.

Nice breakfast

By dgnagle4 |

Three of us had a nice breakfast here, one had a two-egg dish, one had an omelette and I had French Toast. All was good. Typical diner menu and atmosphere. Be forewarned, they add 20% service charge. Remy did a good job as server.

Had a very enjoyable lunch with friends.

By SoraCrafts |

Good, friendly service. Food was good. Would definitely to there again. Lots of stairs to climb, but we probably could have found an elevator if we had tried.

Women's restrooms are filthy

By globaltrekster |

Visited on 4-3-18 around 6 p.m. I went on a night that was not crowded, so no wait. Food was very good and service was excellent by a waitress named Nancy. Gave it two stars because the women's restrooms were filthy to the point that I would not use it. Remember, this is the same restroom your waitresses and cooks use.

Re: easy and good

By Mark H |

This is another great find while in Atlanta without paying the high hotel prices for a good breakfast. The service is quick and friendly and the food is very good. You have to try one of there fabulous desserts.

Certainly good for breakfast...compared to hotel cafe prices!!

By dolphin80 |

My family and I actually came here on two separate occasions during our trip to Atlanta. Mainly out of convenience to our hotel, decent prices, and the food, albeit breakfast, being good. This place is large. When we walked in on the first level, there's a massive bar area with TVS, etc, but we looked around as the place looked empty, however, I saw a sign that said to check in with hostess upstairs, and that is where the action is in the mornings. It is important to note however, that our two experiences were a bit different only due to the fact that on the first day, we got this menu with tons of choices on it, and on our second visit, the menu we got was very limited. When I inquired about this, I was told that the limited menu was the weekend or "high volume" menu, which I thought was odd. Thankfully, since we were here for breakfast, all the staples were there, eggs, pancakes, etc, were there. Coffee was hot & decent, OJ tasted fresh, although not freshly squeezed of course. We ordered eggs, pancakes & french toast on both of our visits and the food was very good. Hard to mess up breakfast, although there are places that do! Service was good and our coffees were refilled with the expected frequency. My wife and I are heavy consumers of cream, and they kept bringing us the little cream containers as well. Kids were happy with their french toast & pancakes as well. Considering the prices at our hotel for breakfast at the hotel, this was a welcoming location for us. Not that we're on a budget, but spending $20 a pop for buffet that my wife & kids will barely make a dent in is not my idea of having fiscal responsibility. I can't speak for what this place is the rest of the day or overnight, but certainly, for breakfast, I can recommend this spot.

Go to place downtown Atlanta

By TheChoclateFactory |

This was our go to place in downtown Atlanta. We lived the breakfast which was pancakes or eggs and hashbrownies and lots of bacon! We also we t in the evening to have a drink and it was very cosy. They had a great karoake night going on. When in Atlanta, stop there dor a bit or a drink!

Good food

By jlcarter1975 |

We visited during a rather busy time as several people from a conference were there. Staff was friendly, but the service was somewhat slow. The server rarely came by to see if refills were needed, etc. I got a gyro platter and the pita bread was grilled to where it was hard and not soft and pillowy as expected. There are several items to choose from. We got dessert to go and the servings are huge. One slice of cake can easily be shared. The strawberry cheesecake was excellent. The tiramisu cake was not as sweet as we would have liked. We would try the restaurant again when back in the area.

Average Food but Great Atmosphere and Fair Prices

It must first be said that the food here is pretty average in quality (good but nothing special), but I was most intrigued by the weirdness of the place. I liked eating here mostly for the strange vibe. It is located in downtown Atlanta and is open late at night closing at 4am before reopening again at 6am. The place is massive and has 2 floors. It is half traditional diner and half nightclub. When you enter on the main level, there is a live DJ and Karaoke going on at the bar. The place was packed on the Thursday night we were here after a big sporting event at Mercedes Benz Stadium. Large menu with lots of options including burgers and sandwiches, steaks, ribs and other entrees and all-day breakfast. Service was friendly and quick even when busy. Although the food was average, prices are very fair especially by large city standards. It is understandable why it is a popular place.

Bad food

The food was not good at all my waffle was cold and his pancakes were as well and the server only checked on us once and it was not worth 80 never will be back !

Another one of my stops when at DragonCon

By Bob J |

2 story layout; bar downstairs, dining upstairs. Food is always good. Main reason I go. Understanding this is an extremely busy week/weekend every year is different. Normally have a wait. This year was able to get a table right away. Wasn't the best. It was next to the exit for the kitchen. Better than waiting. I changed it up this year. I usually do breakfast. This year I did the pork chops. I read it. It sounded good. And it was. I do have to agree with others. Don't like the added service charge. I normally tip more. Which I did. I added like another $4. The server was excellent. She took care of everything.

Welcome back to 1982

By DRL615 |

It’s an 80’s disco that serves food. Needs a power wash and to be gutted. This area of Atlanta hasn’t changed since the mid-80’s. The smells! Desperate for breakfast - it was fine, expensive for 3 70.00 no alcohol on the bill. Service was good. It’s all weird!

Food was good, waiter was better

By Stacie H |

We had this neat waiter dressed up as Little Red Riding Hood (it was Halloween morning) and handing out candy. He was great! My French toast and hubby's omelet were very good, as well.

7/24 works breakfast lunch diner karaoke

By Canka |

The restaurant and bar with karaoke is amazing delicious cakes are available 7/24 . Breakfast ,lunch and diner and bar selection is very wide. I recommended the chicken fingers with your favorite beer.

Eh

By John G |

Metro Diner is a typical diner but with extremely limited breakfast selections. The food and service were both fine but it was a struggle to find something appealing on the menu. Our order was prepared just as we ordered and it was served in an efficient manner.

Go somewhere else

By Bobby M |

We were sat very quickly, which was one positive. But there wasn’t much after that. Long wait times between interacting with our server. My food did come as I ordered it and it was cold when it came. The server didn’t offer anything to make it right when I said I’d prefer to just send it back. He was indifferent and not available most of the meal. Our bill has some items charge red higher than what was in the menu. And they automatically add 18% gratuity, you can’t adjust that based on your poor experience. Wish I hadn’t gone here.

Good Breakfast and Late Night Food

By stuartf380 |

Great for breakfast and late night after a night out food! First ate here after getting into Atlanta late and went here for a few ā€œpopsā€ and ended up eating. Large menus with a bit of everything on it. Next day we had breakfast here with all the guys, great breakfast selection. Staff are friendly and service is quick and food cook perfect. It’s not high end, but is great value, and portions are fair. In the evenings the place was fun, lots of people eating and drinking in the lower bar area while the upper almost terraced area is seating only.

American Food with lots of Southern Hospitality

By BeachBikers |

Located in the heart of Atlanta, the Metro CafƩ Diner will welcome you warmly and give you very personal service. My corned beef Rueben was very meaty, cheesy & saucy (homemade sauce too). It came with batter-dipped fries that were lightly seasoned & perfectly crispy. My husband's classic burger was big, juicy and grilled just right. The servings were very generous - too generous for us to be able to partake of the amazing looking desserts. Their prices were very reasonable too.

Great Time

By EMcQ |

I came here with a friend to grab dinner. We were seated promptly and our server was friendly and accommodating. My friend had the fried catfish and it was beautiful. It came with homemade mashed potatoes and vegetables. I had the baby back ribs and fries. The ribs were very tender and delicious; however, I would have liked more sauce. The fries...oh the fries. They were crispy yet soft. I could eat them three times a day. These two dishes aren't pictured and my camera was full so I couldn't capture a photo, but trust me, they are totally worth your time! I had a great time and so will you with their great food.

Stick with the sandwiches

By Michael S |

I came here for dinner in a Saturday evening because my wife had enjoyed a drink and appetizers here a few years back. I ordered the lasagna after asking being assured it was popular and good. And it was passably decent. The Caesar salad with it, however, was scary. There was essentially no greening in the lettuce and it was drowned in dressing. Service was decent but watch them. I was solo and 18 percent was added to the bill automatically. When she brought the credit card slip back, that check was missing and the tip lines featured prominently on the receipt. I also had 6 wings as an appetizer and they looked like they came from a Cornish game hence they were so small. Atmosphere is still great and the service is decent but stay with the sandwiches and fries. They looked better as they went by.

Yeah, it was crowded this time too.

By Dan K |

Yeah, one of these days I will get in there when it isn't crowded. But as I only go into downtown Atlanta for large science fiction conventions that isn't happening anytime soon. So yes, the service was stretched hard for a Wednesday night "pregame night of DragonCon", and the kitchen was slammed already. So I was meeting friends who were there for food and karaoke. Their version of karaoke should be good for war crime indictments and I apologize to anyone who had to hear them. Anyway, having been deprived of an Olive Garden stop on the way down because we were in a hurry, I was craving Italian. In one of my several prior stops there, I had the lasagna and it wasn't bad. This time I ordered "The Tour of Milan" and I am sure any resemblance to the "Tour of Italy" at Olive Garden is purely coincidental. Portion size was huge, and that is by my standards of being a large mammal. The large oval platter was half covered in fettuccine alfredo. Yes, the sauce probably came out of a jar, but it was a quality jar. No complaints. The lasagna was solid. Not my friend Courtney's, but hers is world class. Now the real surprise was the chicken parm. Big piece of chicken that was recognizable as once having been part of the bird. No pounded cutlet or reconstituted patty. Well breaded, fried without having dried it out, fork-tender. and crispy under the red sauce. So I am not sure when I will be back, but I think I know what I am ordering. Thanks, guys.

A pleasant surprise

By tabitha37087 |

We had walked around for over an hour looking for a place to eat, he didn’t want this I didn’t want that so we came across this place. Went in & was greeted by Nancy who talked us into having beef stroganoff over pasta!!! Omg it was amazing!!! There was no way we could eat it all either. Service & food both was awesome!! Thanks Nancy!!!!

Metro Cafe is fantastic!!!

By Anthony M |

My husband and I visited Metro Cafe at about 1am, after arriving to Atlanta on a late flight, and staying one block away at the Sheraton Hotel. The main floor has a DJ and bar area, and the second floor has the main seating area. While good R&B and Pop music played in the background, we ordered the Philly Cheesesteak, Fried Catfish, southern potato salad fries. All I can say is: DELICIOUS!!! That potato salad was THE welcome to the South that I needed. The fried catfish was fresh and hot. Our waiter Robert was really friendly and accommodating. In the middle of our meal, people started singing Karoake. There was a really fun energy there. People were steadily coming in to order takeout as well as sit for dinner. The food was so good that we brought our Atlanta relatives there to eat, and they loved it. The prices were good. Please visit Metro Cafe Diner!

Delicious omelets

By ticoalra |

Stopped for breakfast on the way to our conference. We were seated right away. Waitress was friendly. Both of us ordered omelets and they were delicious and came quickly.

Affordable prices

By Skumpamums |

We wanted to visit a diner and this place appeared in the feed. the food was exactly ad as we were looking for but the environment was much more modern than we thought. Well for the US we got a good lunch experience, ribs that were a bit too long run but with awesome glace and a great Philly cheesesteak and a couple of cold for like 400 sek / nose may be seen as affordable now. It was quite quiet in the restaurant but the service was quick and impeccable.

What a kick!

By William McC |

Happened on this 24-hour diner near the Marriott Marquis and entered not expecting much. Wrong. The breakfast omelette was so fluffy and rich in flavor that we returned for pancakes and french toast the next morning, with a larger party. The neon lights and mirrors give it an oddly Vegas-like feel, but the service vibe is pure Southern, in the best possible way. Our servers, on both mornings, kept our hot drinks topped off and otherwise made us feel as welcome as family. That is, the family members you actually *like* to be with. Prices are amazingly reasonable for a downtown eatery.

Don’t understand the great reviews

By rodriguezs807 |

Ate here twice during a trip to Atlanta. First was dinner, which was ok. Typical frozen chicken fingers and fries. No work put into them except to drop them in hot oil. We also had a burger, chicken sandwich and philly. All others were OK as well. We also went back for breakfast thinking that might be better. Pancakes tasted like Betty Crocker. Not homemade! Not impressed. Service was quite slow both times. Their cakes looked good, but we didn’t try any of them.

So so experience

By Steve S |

While this is a true diner from the northeast classic diners, I found it cramped and the food was nothing special. I was there for breakfast and just was not inspired.

Great after a concert meal

By Leah W |

Love this place. Awesome customer service and entertainment to match!! So glad a lady told us about it

Late night downtown atlanta spot

By E R |

Waited 45 mins for table but only downtown place open late—food came out quick once seated. Had wings-solid 8/10-not too crispy but good flavor

Always open -- good food

By Grant F |

While many reasonably priced restaurants in downtown Atlanta are closed much of the weekend, you can always get a meal at the 24 hour Metro. The food is good, and is the service. Not fancy, but a very practical choice for good food.

Evening Drinks & Karaoke

By j722018 |

Great place to meet with friends, listen to music and have a few drinks after dinner. Got more crowded later in the evening. If you like karaoke this is the place to go!

Nasty, lots of stairs, no view and ok food

By Ilovetravl |

This place was dirty. It needs the carpet cleaned, windows cleaned, walls cleaned. For goodness sake hose this place down with cleaning supplies. If you need handicap access this is not the place for you. There are stairs... lots of stairs to get to your table. There is a downstairs but there are outside stairs to get to the downstairs. There may be a side entrance for wheelchairs? Staff was friendly enough, but slow. We could see in the kitchen from our table and well... we ate there but maybe not again? Food was nothing exceptional. The desserts are HUGE and pretty good. If you go get dessert. Since the service was ok and the food was ok I am giving it an average. It is in a metro city and was bustling with people one night. They may have had karaoke one night? We walked by often and it was packed.

Good eats in Atlanta

By MikeC33471 |

I was in Atlanta for a conference and wanted a reasonably priced dinner. Metro was great. We had prompt service and I had a Gyro sandwich with fries and it was excellent. If you’re looking for a decent meal and a big menu, this is a good spot. They also have a lot of good breakfast dishes if you’re looking for that

Not all Metro diners are the same.

By jtmpIII |

Unlike the Metro Diner in Gainesville, Fl. This is the Metro Cafe Diner was not even close to the other franchise diner. This one does not take reservations or even answer their phone. That being said, this one did have a few pluses. Their wings and burgers were pretty good. I don’t know who the copy-cat is. Just be aware not all Metro Diners are not the same.

Try it!

By Jolie B |

This place has a variety of food and delicious cakes. Our server Nancy has a great spirit. She was so friendly and made us laugh.

Late lunch

By Lin M |

Had to wait 45 minutes for a table. Friendly service, great food. Very kind to my two young grandkids with meals they enjoyed. Half roast chicken special was excellent. Bloody mary and mimosas just $3.00!!!

Worst service ever

By Randy S |

Where to begin. . . We had four people at the table and the food was dry and overcooked for everyone. They tack on an 18% gratuity automatically, but be sure to have a manager remove that as the service was horrible. After delivering our food we never saw the waiter again. When I went looking for him, he was downstairs chatting up his friends. Each time we needed something, we had to flag down a different waiter to go get him. Looking around I noticed this seemed to be a theme with other tables as well. Not an attentive server in the house. Definitely do not recommend.

Great diner style food

By Rob H |

Metro is a typical, no frills diner with lots of entertainment downstairs. We had dinner there twice in 12 days, and both days the quality of the food was good and the portions unbelievable. We ate until they had to roll us out of the place. Do not go there for the impeccable service; go for the food and the atmosphere instead.

Karaoke host sucks

By Rebecca M |

We were in town for a trade conference. We had a group looking to drink and party, and we heard this place had karaoke every night. The karaoke host fancies himself more a DJ than host, playing 2 whole songs in between every performer. There was a list of people waiting… and waiting… and ASKING to sing, but he just kept telling us to wait. The bar staff was polite and professional. We had no food. They might be a great place to visit for some other reason. But we came to sing, and this was not the place for that.

Good food!

By 7766heath |

Dinner with two teenage girls and the menu fit the bill. Both were very happy with their dinner choices - one had French toast and the other chicken Alfredo. Desserts were amazing as well. Definitely would recommend this place.

Avoid this Restaurant

By KamGuy63 |

The food was very good however the business practice of adding 20% and then asking for a tip was unbelievable. I will not be a patron of this Diner on any future trips to Atlanta.

Karaoke!

By TravelBoomerang |

The Metro is an interesting place. We came in and opted to sit at the bar downstairs to eat. The bartenders were engaging and on their game. The food was pretty good (sandwiches and fries), the drinks hit the spot and the atmosphere was fun and great for people watching. When the karaoke started, the R&B/Pop/80s vibe started. Lots of fun! Some real talent performed. Well worth the visit.

Very basic and tacky interior

By ad p |

Very basic and tacky interior with lots of neon and old tired furniture. Food not great and served tepid. Orange juice not fresh but from concentrate. Worst is the condition of the tables and furniture etc. See photos of my table top which seemed typical. Wood veneer peeled away showing chipboard beneath and bubbling up in places. Can’t be hygienic. Would not recommend.

Ok, open, nice staff

By Misha_Prof |

The Cuban Reuban was tasty. My son liked the soup. Coffee, meh, as expected. Open before 11am. Such an old interior, I felt I would never choose to return. Good for biding time waiting for a child's passport.

Ate here THREE times - not disappointed

By Travel Girl |

Ribs are great - desserts are excellent - service was good - music is great - atmosphere is casual and fun

Great bar / diner

By JON61569 |

We were in Atlanta for the Superbowl. Looking for somewhere that we could get something for lunch and came across this venue not far from the hotel. I had a beer (Blue Moon) and my partner had a cocktail. We had the Teriyaki wings. They were great. We returned three times - very late after the Superbowl finished (the staff were really good given the place was full of celebrating fans) and the night before we left. On the Superbowl night, they had a DJ and area with people dancing. If there's a slight downside, the decour is slightly tired, this isn't a problem most of the time though the rest rooms really do need a refurbishment.

25 Middle School FCCLAers State Conference

By Baybug2012 |

Service was spot on. Saheed was our server. He was nice, attentive and the place was packed. Prices were reasonable but mainly they accommodated all of us well and quickly. We will be back!

Not a good food experience.

By Mimitimes4 |

Not a place for good food. All of the food was over cooked , undercooked or had a bad taste. The coffee was the worst of all the food and drink. At the prices of the food it should have tasted better.

very good food downtown

By Jim1133 |

We went on a Thursday evening for dinner and were seated immediately. The menu has typical dinner choices, incluidng burgers, sandwiches, wraps and salads. They also offer a breakfast menu all day. We were both very pleased wih our food. This is one of the places we normally eat when we are in town staying at the Sheraton Hotel, which is only a block away.

Not ADA compliant

By Amber |

We had a friend with mobility issues, she is in a scooter, because of the stairs, and no elevator, we could not dine there. It was stairs, about 3 sets of about 10 to 5 with 3 landings. The street level was closed. Also no plan to be ADA compliant, that we could tell. No one on the landing where you entered the restaurant to direct you to an elevator, nothing.

Diner with Karaoke. What!?!?

By Gma0917 |

Been so many times and it’s always fun. ESP late night. Typical diner food but with one of the best karaoke dis around. Highly recommend this as your last stop to wind the night down. Turn it up to 11 and let your pancake loving disco fry def lose.

Diner

By 2hubbies |

Came here twice for breakfast and found the menu very limited for a diner. Not sure if handicapped accessible, but have to go upstairs for service. Food was good and prepared to order. Our servers were efficient and pleasant. Can only comment on breakfast since we didn’t come here for dinner. Disappointed in menu choices, which is the reason for three stars.

Better than Expected

By jim1231 |

We wanted to eat at the new Walburgers but it wasn't open yet so we tried this diner. The first floor is a loud bar with lots of neon. The diner is upstairs and the physical components have seen better days. Service was efficient but not overly professional but we had been spoiled from previous dining at high end restaurants. Our food was surprisingly very good and plentiful The caesar sales was very good but slightly over dressed, the vegetarian Rueben was exceptional as were the fries. My wife's spanakopita was very good as was her greek salad. There is amazing selection of cakes and cheesecakes and our chocolate mousse cake was very good. Wine was cheap and not bad.

Basic diner, close to hotel

By tripperATL |

Early morning breakfast, only place open near a train stop before the airport. Basic breakfast - food good, nothing special, a little pricey. Same w/ service. a little tricky to get in/out of w/ stairs and back entrance/exit to a Peachtree center station.

Great cheap eats and people watching.

By DarkfallGA |

This 24-hour restaurant has an extremely extensive menu that should please anybody looking for a cheaper or late-night dining option in downtown Atlanta. Even on nights that the place is packed with people we've always gotten fast service. It's also a great place to people watch, especially late at night.

Beware that 18% service charge is already included!!

By Clem L |

Food was mediocre. I ordered the pork chops but they were quite well done and a bit dry. Beware that they include an 18% service charge to your bill. I missed this and added an additional tip. Even though my waiter brought the included tip to my attention after I had added it and he said that he would take it off, my credit card was still charged with the additional tip amount.

Breakfast

By bermychic |

We ordered the French toast and waffles. French toast was dry but the waffle was delicious. Overall food was average don't go with high expectations.

good turkey burger

By ninjadoc47 |

my family and I have eaten here a few times for a family reunion and the food was pretty goo, the turkey burger was the best AI tasted and really good potato salad

Food is nothing special

By Ricardo C |

The food was over priced and the food was average the BLT was not the best I had to look twice for the bacon and if you are looking for breakfast the prices are outrageous two side of eggs are $7.00 and the meals are around $15 and up.. the staff was very friendly but the food was just mediocre

Breakfast all day!

By LocalAdventurer2018 |

I was happy to find a breakfast spot at 11:30 a.m. on a Friday. Nowhere else served breakfast that late, which I found odd. It was a basic diner breakfast (2 eggs, bacon, pancakes). Our server was fantastic. Very nice guy and attentive. We were never left waiting for anything.

Incredible food

By Elias A |

Ordered the gyro platter because it’s one of their few healthy options for my diet and I did not expect it to be this incredible. Awesome place to get good food late night. Reasonable prices and good portions. 10/10 recommend!

Good food and service and awesome desserts

By Peter L |

We visited the Metro for dinner one evening and breakfast the following day while in Atlanta. Good service throughout and well presented and tasty food. Reasonably priced. The desserts are awesome but be careful the cakes are huge , and probably best to face one between two ,,

Save room and get some cake...thank me later!

By Taraks Travels |

In ATL for weekend with Wife and teen daughter. We were looking for something that was not chain place we can eat back home and was budget friendly. Found Metro Cafe to be a couple blocks from our hotel. We grabbed dinner here one evening and lunch another day. Our servers both times were really personable and attentive. Layout was kind of cool with bar and dance area downstairs and seating upstairs. They had a huge screen looping a video of parties, and foods and we kept seeing some yummy cakes! Food was your basic cafe/pub stuff and hit the spot both on the taste buds and the wallet! The highlight of the menu may very well be their cakes though! I had a slice of strawberry shortcake after dinner and it was FANTASTIC!

Good breakfast

By Q4979RBmarkh |

Fast service, good food, good price. Restuarant is upstairs so its not real obvious while you are standing outside. The lower floor is a bar at night. Go in, go up the stairs and then wait to be seated.

Think again !

By Barney W |

Our waitress was a little off--I think pot but maybe just scatter brain. Most of the food was mediocre at best but my mashed potatoes and gravy was the worst I ever had. One of our group ordered Sprite. The first one was undrinkable--no syrup. Second one same thing. She finally brought water but still tried to charge for the Sprite. The price were a little high but it is Atlanta. I will say the cakes and cheese were good, obviously purchased outside the restaurant.

Quick breakfast

By Mi M |

Had ham and cheese omelette along with hash browns and coffee. It was all good and above average. Price what you should expect in a metro downtown area, not crazy. Service was good despite a full restaurant. Recommend for a filling breakfast to start your day. Coffee was above average, not over roasted. Mugs Jack Reacher would approve of. Easy was from Marriott and adjacent hotels.

Dark cafe

By s m |

Interesting atmosphere. Service started off OK, food was served quickly, warm and well portioned. Once food was delivered service ignored us until time for bill. Good desert selection on tap beers severely lacking.

Meh diner food

By theasp00 |

This place NEEDS some TLC as it's a bit dingy with noticeable things like duct tape on some of the carpet. One of our orders came out wrong, my omelet was pretty bland and it was somewhat slow. It's fairly cheap at least and it's really not THE WORST, but it's unfortunate in having so many better food options all around.

Breakfast is average...

By Kelvin C |

Staying in downtown and looking for a good breakfast. Saw the ratings here and gave it a trial. It was average. They serve breakfast, not particularly great. I got french toast and ham. The ham was lukewarm, and the french toast was average. You will fill your belly, just not with really tasty breakfast. Will look for breakfast somewhere else tomorrow.

Diner downer

By Faryl H |

Convenient for downtown dining but I wouldn't return. Stairs to get upstairs were off putting - insufficient hand rails for my needs. My entree was tasty but volcano dessert back in my room was stale.

Metro Diner

By James Blackwell |

I really liked this diner. I ordered the chicken club sandwich and it was very good. Our waiter was excellent and the atmosphere was very relaxed and fun. We were there on Friday night and they even had Karaoke! I ordered nachos as an appetizer and they were excellent - generous portion size and great flavor. Overall, if I lived in Atlanta, this would be my "go-to" place to kick back and unwind after a busy week. :-)

Decent breakfast

By Lisa B |

My husband and I went early this morning. The menu is very limited for breakfast on the weekends. We asked about more options and were told that the menu is larger during the week. However, she said they could put together whatever we liked. Service was good, our order came quickly, and tasted good. The coffee was very good.

Open 24/7 - went for Breakfast

By cmo03LU |

Walking in with a family of 4, I was a bit turned off at first as it smelled like a frat house - lots of beer must've been served the night before in the downstairs area. Breakfast was reasonably priced and tasted great. Pancakes, eggs, etc. Friendly staff.

Good Quality Food - reasonable price

By Dave F |

This is a reasonable place to eat at reasonable prices. Foods from a round the world and they are a reasonable price.Good service but loud background music. it has a cheap and cheerful ambience.

Decent food, slow service, delicious dessert!

By lilbunnygirl |

We were looking for somewhere good within walking distance of our hotel when we ended up here for dinner. The atmosphere was cozy even though it's a big place, it was crowded but didn't feel loud and bustling. Our waiter was super nice, once he finally made it to the table. My biggest complaint about this restaurant was that the service was extremely slow. I will grant they were busy, but it was slow even by the standards of a busy restaurant. Every step, from getting drinks to taking our order to getting take out containers and the bill, was noticeably slow. The food was good, nothing so exceptional that I'd come back specifically for it, but tasty enough, and the menu has something for everyone. The desserts were incredible, huge portions (too big for one person) but super yummy. If we find ourselves back in this area, I'd skip dinner and just get cake to go.

Late dinner

By Keith L |

We were staying nearby and wanted to grab a late dinner. We were promptly seated and our server checked on us frequently. From our table upstairs we enjoyed the karaoke downstairs. Our servings were larger than we expected. My Philly cheesesteak was very good. Checkout the desert menu. This was a tough choice. We made two selections from the desert menu and were not disappointed.

Good Breakfast

By Ed B |

Staying in a Condo near the World Congress Center, I looked for a traditional diner within walking distance. The Metro Cafe Diner is not exactly a traditional diner, but it has traditional diner fare. I recommend the Metro Plate if you're looking for a hearty traditional breakfast.

Really Good Food.....But

By Ms_Celest |

The food was really good, and really good portions. However, the place didn't look very clean and there was a very odd smell like wet carpet i really don't know. We ate quickly and left, the vibe was pretty good but the small really didn't allow us to enjoy it.

24/7 diner with the usual fare

By tlc248 |

Biscuits and gravy very southern, but the corned beef hash is straight from the can. Stay with the omelettes and eggs. Coffee is strong.

Weekend price hike

By ngodzeyez |

On Thursday i was charged $14 for a quesadilla. On Friday i was charged $20 for the exact same quesadilla. I asked the waiter who said his name was G. ..his reply was we do different pricing on weekends...

Be careful of the horrendous Service Chargeā€¼ļø

By Wayne M |

Wet, sticky floor throughout the restaurant. That didn’t instil confidence in standards. But, the complete shock was the 18% Service Charge on the bill. Then, requesting a Tip on topā€¼ļøOf course I won’t come back. I don’t like the feeling I have of being ripped-off.

I just wanted some fruit

By Mike G |

They served me my morning coffee, which was fine. But when i asked for a fruut cup with my omelette, instead of home fries, they refused!! At a diner! Then they came back and said i could add the fruit for $4.50. So, i went down the street and had the fruit at a different diner, for $1.00.

Not bad!

By Alan_Righetti |

Diner Classico da States! Sympathy, comfort and taste of the dishes place it as interesting. Quite a wide choice of dishes (including healthy!) and average prices in the US (however relatively expensive by European standard). Lo abbiamo trovato comunque un buon locale!

Waste of time

By Jennifer O |

First off, I think we went there on a busy night...but the wait was ridiculous. I ordered a philly Steak sandwich and practically threw up. The steak was UNDERCOOKED. The only thing that was good on my plate was the fries I must admit. Other than that complete trash. My sister found hair in her food.

breakfast at lunch time

By JOhnMilewskico |

Love the restaurant. Three different levels. The top level has a good view of the city very open and very festive. Good lighting good window views. Food was fantastic. Actually had breakfast at lunchtime. Seems like breakfast served 24 seven. i would recommend it for a nice adventure and a good meal! also a great cocktail menu, 24/7!!!

Skip it

By Marcus H |

We were seated quickly, after being told the wait at Hard Rock was 2 hours. The ac was out and it was miserably hot. Nachos were average. Cheese tasted like melted slice cheese. Salsa wasn’t good. The wings were solid. I’d reorder. The burger wasn’t great. Service was slow and awkward. She never sat stuff down rather held it out waiting for us to take it. They automatically add 18% gratuity. $100 for a Coke, kids pizza, nachos, wings, burger, and a mixed drink. I’ll gladly pass this place up.

Foor. Ethics

By Mitch F |

How do we srart? It's unfortunate that this business is fortunately a place where corporate expense accounts, locations and ignorance blend. Atlanta has been striving for over 25 year's to be a mecca of enterprise. This venue is sadly poor. The staff has one good guy. However the police presence and the volume of prostitution is unbalanced and sadly a sore of what this beautiful city of Atlanta truly is becoming!!!!!!!!!$

Go for breakfast

By David & Lynne UK |

The first place we ate breakfast when we hit Atlanta, the didn't go anywhere else! Laid back, with a real friendly vibe. It was so good, we stopped off for one more Hobo Breakfast on our way home! We have to single out Nancy. She took one order off us, she was super friendly and helpful. 8 days later, we stopped off for a meal and a beer and she remembered our drinks order! That level of customer service and attention to detail doesn't happen these days. Thank you so much everyone, you made these two limeys feel so welcome and at home. We will be back.

We went to eat here on a Sunday evening because many places were closed. I'm not opposed to late night diners, but this was not clean and way to loud. They have karaoke and it looked fun, but the volume was turned up so loud that my friend and I couldn't hear each other across the table. I do have to give credit to our server. He was friendly and very nice.

Pricey eggs and average service

By Carol E |

I was staying at the Ritz Carlton a couple of blocks away and just wanted a few eggs for breakfast. I walked to the diner - location was convenient. Server was timid. I ordered 3 poached eggs with the yellow a little runny. They came in a bowl and were swimming in water. I dumped them onto my plate and absorbed the water with a spare napkin. The eggs were good. Server didn't refill my water. The bill for 3 eggs and water was $10. A bit disappointing.

Completely subpar food

I was in town for a convention in August. This diner was near the hotel. I ordered a Greek salad with grilled salmon and a 6 piece order of chicken wings. The salad was fine, the Salmon was dry and over cooked. I ordered lemon pepper flavor wings. That was the saltiest wings I've tasted in my life!!! Uuuggghhh I hate to waste money on horrible food. I did take out, so I didn't feel like going back to complain. But, I'm letting y'all know to skip this place šŸ˜ž.

Don’t bother.

Food was terrible. Gravy was like glue and hash browns were frozen and microwaved. Country fried steak was as from a school cafeteria. Biscuit was gummy. Coffee was okay. Very disappointing. Better breakfast at a gas station.

The layout and decor of the Metro Diner are so unique. Chrome and colored lights everywhere! We went on a Saturday around noon for brunch. No wait and the server came right over. She was very friendly, helpful with questions, and kept the coffee flowing. We had the veggie omelet, sausage and eggs over easy, and sausage biscuits with gravy. The omelet was cooked perfectly and packed with veggies. The eggs were done just as ordered and the sausages were delicious. (The best breakfast sausage we've ever had!) The biscuits and gravy were great and our server offered to bring extra gravy. Everything came with home fries and we loved them. Had a great breakfast and strongly recommend the Metro Diner!

We came here pretty late and they were very friendly and had good service. We had a varied order too with chicken wings and breakfast and they all came out at the same time. The cocktails were small for the price but they were good. Downstairs looked to be a bar and karaoke area but upstairs was all dining with varied seating the cakes looked fantastic all huge and varied

Males not aloud to wear tank tops

Me and my friends was turned away service because we was wearing tank tops. Women can wear whatever they want, but males cannot. Discrimination

Not as bad as Landmark Diner

I've had bad luck with restaurants in Atlanta having the word "diner" in their name. This was no exception. I ordered the Hobo breakfast and it looked great but ended up being not so. Slow service too.
