This is a unique venue on top of the Best Western by the Convention Center. The atmosphere and views from the venue are incredible; this is definitely a great place to be, and to relax. I went here on a late Saturday evening. The staff here was very friendly during my visit. With that said, service was slow; one beer and a dish of hummus and veggies took an hour and a half from start to finish...it was 45 minutes from my time of order until I received my food. And it was definitely hotel-price expensive! That aside, the dish was excellent...the hummus very good, lots of veggies, and excellent flat bread. And while my server was very friendly, she was very inattentive, taking a while to check in, and fill my water....maybe because I was a party of one during a fairly busy period. All in all, this is a great venue, and worth stopping by...just don't expect a "quick", or cheap, visit.

We came here for dinner with friends and was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant was on the roof top of a cool hotel and the views, service, and food quality were great. I would definitely recommend this.

I had the in house made gnocchi. Excellently made. Also had the hibiscus habanero margarita. Soooo good

This restaurant was such a gem on the rooftop of downtown Portland. We ate here during happy hour on a Saturday night and paid less than $100 for two drinks, two apps, two entrees, and two desserts. All of our food was amazing. Everything was delicious and our server was super friendly and attentive.

I was in Portland for a meeting at the Convention Center and visited the Metropolitan Café twice. The first time for after dinner drinks and the second time for lunch. I was impressed during both visits. Each time we sat outside. The deck has a wonderful view of Portland. The service both times was excellent. The staff is friendly and well trained. I definitely recommend the view, the drinks and the food.

Great food and fantastic buzzing atmosphere! Very busy restaurant, so make sure to make a booking. Eduardo was my waiter mostt nights, and took good care of me. I kept going back each night for another taste of their wonderful dishes! Definitely recommended. The wedge salad with the blue cheese was my all-time favorite.

Good food at a reasonable price. Pretty fast service. Top floor restaurant of the Hotel Eastlund on NE Grand Avenue, so we were placed by a window (lots of windows), with a nice view of the area. Nice happy hour! It was very busy since it was a concert night, and a bit noisy, but still able to hear our friends if we talked loud enough. We arrived about 5:30 and as the evening continued on it got noisier, as we left about 7pm. It is close to the Moda, and I highly recommend their valet parking for the evening performance for $25 and walk to the Moda performance from there. I prepaid the Moda parking and it was a disaster getting parked - massive traffic jam everybody trying to get parked in the Moda.

Stayed at the Hotel Eastlund and so went to this restaurant as it was upstairs and convenient. One night I had the lemon chicken and the other the spaghetti carbonara. Both were delicious. If you are staying here or at the convention center this is a good choice. The restaurant grew noisy as the night progressed and it filled up. I could still hear my dinner partners' conversations, but not a place for an intimate date.

Great atmosphere and food.. We were looking for a quite bite while waiting for the hockey game to start . Very close to Veteran Memorial Coliseum. Great profits during the happy hour.. fast service

Alright. I didn’t know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. Nice selection of beer on tap was nice. I ended up with a bit overcooked burger, should have went with a pizza. Server was super slow but we showed up on a Monday night, party of six that wanted separate checks, and we got seated right away. And, it was busy. So I understand.

A small but tasty menu. The staff were very accommodating and knowledgeable when discussing potential allergy issues, and the portions were good for the price paid. The view is also beautiful.

The lunch experience was simply terrible. From the time we sat down, service was very poor. 25 minutes before they took our order. We never got our drinks. More than an hour after being seated, we’re still waiting on food. It was not what we expected.

Metropolitan Tavern is a cool spot with a nice view of Portland. The service was prompt and attentive, which made the experience enjoyable. The food is decent, though I felt the prices were a bit higher than the value offered. It can get loud and a bit chaotic, but if you’re looking for a lively atmosphere with a good view, it’s worth checking out.

I had forgotten about the top of Hotel Eastlund though it was a favorite before the pandemic. It is still a very good lunch place with a view in all directions and convenient street parking. Three of us met this day to say goodbye to a former co-worker retiring and leaving town. Two of us had steak salad and don't remember the third. Service was fast. I would recommend reservations

This restaurant is on the roof of the Hotel Eastlund. The view is ok mainly of the convention center and Hyatt next door. However, the patio was fun to sit on and enjoy our meal. I had the margarita pizza which was one of the better pizzas I have had. I do recommend this restaurant.

The view is incredible and the food was fine. What made the evening “meh” was our waiter, who would not stop talking to the person seated next to us, who apparently was a work colleague-either at this establishment or another one - I never figured it out. Then another waitstaff person joined our neighbor and we got to hear their litany of complaints working - somewhere - not clear but I was like, I kind of want to enjoy the view and dinner with my daughter, and we were pumped about Weezer we were seeing later. I mentioned it to our waiter bc I was so excited (daughter had just picked me up at the airport and totally surprised me with tickets!) and I just got a blaaank staaare. Then it was back to the table next to us to have their loud conversation about their sucky job(s) previous or current - I still don’t know. Really ruined the vibe. Also some supervisor had the nerve to tell one of them, if you don’t like working here you can leave!” They didn’t like that TOXIC situation AT ALL! 😂😂😂 The End.

Arrived early for dinner. Staff seemed stressed and there was confusion about who would take our table. We have eaten here several times before with good outcomes. This time was different and it included loud shouting coming from the kitchen that could be heard at the other end of the restaurant and it continued on and off during our entire meal — right up to and during our wait for the elevator to leave when the chef was again loudly talking — about allergies and what to do about them to his staff. The burger was definitely not as good as in the past and I didn’t finish it. Of particular note was the French Fries which smelled off, it seemed like it was because of past due deep frier oil. Could not eat them. I have every selfish reason in the world to want this restaurant to succeed so sincerely hope this feedback will help get things back on track.

We were at the Oregon Convention Center for an event and heard about this place through word of mouth. We went for dinner and it was fantastic. The staff was pleasant, accommodating, and friendly. One of the taps was out for an IPA my friend wanted and she ended up ordering something else and our server circled back when it was tapped and brought her it. The food was delicious and the view was great. I’ll be back next year when the conference is back.

came in for a late lunch after a long flight. we preferred to sit inside as on the varenda it was far too hot. Food was good although i felt that the chef was trying to be too innovative nouvelle cuisine. Service was a bit unattentive View was very nice looking over the convention center special architecture

Rooftop restaurant with great atmosphere. Excellent servers. Wonderful food. Great happy hour deals. Had tacos, oysters, berry crumble, with Jasmine tea. All for around 25 bucks. It was just perfect.

This ain't no tavern you ever been to. It's not cheap, but it's worth every penny. Great views, great drinks, great staff, great food!!!
Nothing special
Beautiful space, terrible food. My pizza was soggy and my dessert tasted funky. Waitress didn’t do anything except agree with me about the pizza. Won’t waste my time or my colleagues time again. Nice try, but read your negative reviews and try something different.
