Mexican Sugar!

By jdb2311 |

We tried the new Mexican Sugar just outside of River Oaks and we LOVED it! Place is HUGE, is GORGEOUS, and the food and cocktails were also wonderful. Easy garage parking for $5. The staff were really warm and hospitable. Queso Blanco, Pork Chop, Margarita Flight, just trust me. Amazing Tequila selection too!

Finally got to try this restaurant after waiting for it to open. It has delicious food, wonderful service, yummy drinks, great prices and a vibe to match! I recommend the Pork Chop. Definitely going to try this place again.

Great Mexican Food

By Jared E |

“Mexican Sugar is an absolute gem! The food here is nothing short of incredible. Every dish is bursting with flavor and perfectly balanced, showcasing the best of modern Latin cuisine. The guacamole is fresh and expertly made, the tacos are packed with authentic, savory goodness, and the churros are the perfect sweet finish. You can taste the quality and care in every bite. Whether you’re a fan of bold spices or looking for something comforting and hearty, their menu has something for everyone. This is hands-down one of the best dining experiences I’ve had—highly recommend!”

Exceptional experience

We couldn’t wait for this place to open because we’d been to the one in Dallas and we weren’t disappointed - the food & drinks were fantastic and it’s a gorgeous location!

Dancing for Dinner!

By Cashen B |

In Houston for our daughter’s dance convention and had no idea there was a new Mexican Sugar here. Came with six dance Parents plus seven girls and we all LOVED it! Sat upstairs on the balcony; it was perfect with the patio heaters. Started with a bunch of Queso’s and Guac for the table; warm chips and salsa was to die for! Margs were a HIT (Chupa, Sangria Swirls, and Rocks). Kids had Hamburguesas, and Quesadillas, parents had Salmon, Tortilla Soup, Tacos, and Enchiladas – it was all SO GOOD! No dessert as we were in a hurry. We had two servers and they were both friendly and accommodating (even with kids) and got us in and out quickly. Perfection!

Fun lunch with the family!

We came for a lunch and discovered they actually have a lunch menu and a happy hour menu! My picky son loves the cilantro rice. I love the chupa and chicken enchiladas. My wife enjoyed the mango chicken salad. Must try lunch and happy hour!

Cinco De Mayo Visit

By PayneToPlane |

Came here for Cinco De Mayo to enjoy drinks. As you enter the restaurant you are greeted with a friendly welcome. There is also a beautiful patio with fans to keep you cool in Houston’s hot weather. Meek was our server, he knew the menu well and gave great recommendations. The Don Julio Compadres day special drink was okay but nothing special. It came with a shot but was not a full shot. The Machete Margarita was really good. It was a mix of spicy and sweet. The Hibiscus Margarita was too sweet for me. We had the Roasted Chicken and Lump Crab Enchiladas. In my opinion they were dry and bland. The Elote street style corn was okay. The Arepas were my favorite! We ordered the yuca fries. When the server, which was not Meek, sat down the plate of fries, some of them and the ingredients fell on the table. He picked up the food with his hand, placed it back on the plate and apologized. He was going to walk away and I had to ask him if he could please get us a fresh order. They were good but I was honestly scared that it was the same fries but Meek reassured it wasn’t.

Rainy Lunch at Mexican Sugar!

By David Justice |

Came to Mexican Sugar today with some business associates (had never been before but it was recommended by one guest in our group) and was really blown away by our experience. Rebeca was our server and she was warm and made wonderful suggestions. We sat out on the 2nd floor covered (but not enclosed) patio while it was raining which was super cool. Food was top notch with is saying something for Houston Mexican. Place is huge – and gorgeous! We will be back in a few weeks for Happy Hour. Great spot!

Mexican Sugar meets Houston

By Marquice G |

Mexican Sugar has some of the most delicious food I’ve tasted in a while in Houston. It’s scratch kitchen and craft margaritas & Tequila selection touch every Latin note you could desire in a new upscale restaurant. You won’t be disappointed! Exactly what Houston needed!!

My wife and I visited this new location, previously tried in DFW. It did not disappoint. Everything is so fresh, the atmosphere just takes me back. And all the staff are super helpful. Make sure you try the Margarita Flight!!!!!

Lively vibe. Fresh apps. Stunning deck overlooking Regent Square patio.

By Leighly |

Lovely ambience, with a beautiful outside deck overlooking the Regent Square patio. We tried apps only and all were delectable - marinaded shrimp, areas, and the queso blanco. Very fresh chips and salsa. Staff were friendly and prompt. This is a great location to enjoy Mexican and Latin dishes. Highly recommend!
