A very strong date night gathering place in the Gaslamp district. Food good, service was average on a busy night...a wide variety of drinks on the menu. If you want some quiet to chat...go upstairs in the back....downstairs get quite loud........ Greek salad quite good.

Excellent dining experience. Our meal was superb. Staff was attentive and gave really good recommendations. Fun, upbeat atmosphere and beautiful decor.

Tasty Greek fusion. The flaming cheese appetizer is quite a show and very tasty. The steak and lamb tacos were very good. I would go back, just for the tacos.

We had a excellent lunch, very fresh ingredients! The waitress Tiffany was very friendly and made sure everything was ok for us.

Was excited about trying it based on the appearance however the experience was just OK. I think they spent too much time on the appearance and not enough on the food. Everything was fine but nothing to get excited about.

Visited this place after reading good reviews and it did not disappoint, what a fab place the atmosphere was great, the staff were really helpful and polite the food was delicious we had the Houmous & the chicken kebabs and it was really nice. I would definitely recommend this place.

Last night in the US after our five week road trip. Great atmosphere, service and food; could not fault the place. Plenty of variety on menu with a great selection of beer and wine to chose from. š

Drive down from north county and ran into Padre reopening night traffic. Parking was atrocious but we eventually made it to the restaurant. Service was good and we had 4 very good small plates.

We are visiting the area for a few days, got here late and needed a late dinner. I ordered the Village Salad and Spanikopita. My husband ordered the Greek Quesadilla. The Village Salad was actually what Iād call a Greek Salad. The cucumbers were crispy, large pieces of feta topped with capers and oregano was so good. The spanikopita had great flavor, best Iāve had since I was in Greece. It was all great!

Setting: Very, very nice.Excellent distance between tables. Quieter that most large restaurants. Service: Very, very good. One mistake on wine, but quickly corrected. Food: Excellent. Surprise, surprise. HUGE portions. Best salad yet in San Diego 3 nights). Perfectly dressed. Filled with wonderful veggies. Super! Main course: I had a Greek rendition of a kebob not on sticker. Fantastic meat!!! Wow! We shared the salad and she agrees best yet in San Diego this trip. And super large servings of fresh vegetables of all sorts which were ardent and magnificent. My wife had lamb chops and she was equally delighted with her meal as I was with mine. I was so surprised at how good the food was! TOP NOTCH! We will go back.

Fun atmosphere located conveniently in the Gaslamp district. Food was okay. We shared a delicious humus appetizer and a mixed grill dinner. The rice tasted like it came out of a box. The chicken was dry. The steak meat was tough.

This is a nice looking Greek restaurant located in the Gastown district. They have happy hour from 3-6pm, with great specials on food and drinks. We had the dolmas and the frites, which were $5 each before tax.

The food was good en the service fine. The price of the food was however not in comparison with the quantity. This restaurant is pretty expensive in comparison with what you get! In Greece, Ouzo is complimentary after dinner. Here we had to pay 9 dollar per drink.

The food is FANTASTIC! Tiffany was super attentive and answered all of our questions...she took great care of us. Highly recommend!

A pleasant Mediterranean restaurant and a good choice if you are in the gas-lamp area and don't want to eat pub food or fast food. The staff was friendly and the service was good. The green salad was a good portion with fresh vegetables but the hummus was disappointing. However, I would definitely consider this restaurant if you like Mediterranean food.

Enjoyed a delicious spall plate sampling here as part of a food tour. The food was very good and tasted authentic. Very enjoyable.

The restaurant is located across the street from our hotel. We visited for some quick appetizers. The vegetables were fresh and the fiery feta mac and cheese was tasty.

I had pretty high expectations based on reviews and ratings. I really wanted to love this place but unfortunately I found it to be pretty average Greek cuisine. While the Spanakopita was very good many other items were not so great. The biggest problem I had was that it was pretty bland. The dolmas, for instance, was fresh but lacked the flavor of many other places where I have order them. Itās possible that all the Meze I got were not their best dishes. On a side note it had a nice trendy modern interior but it was a little too loud for my tastes.

Took a small party and had an enjoyable dinner. To make things easier we ordered off of the Family Style Menu. This made everything much easier and enjoyable for everyone.

Great food, great atmosphere, even better service (Tiffany)! Itās worth the stop .... cilantro and jalapeƱo hummus excellent....their pomegranate lemonade is awesome too!

One of the best meals we had from Coronado to Carlsbad! The warm pita will make you want to slap yo momma. The grill chicken was great but the gyro plate took the prize. Only regret not being able to try other things on the menu

Came here for an early dinner. Portion size was decent. Loved the watermelon & feta cheese salad. Great atmosphere & lovely wait staff.

Last night we dined here. Food was great and service excellent and we were really impressed. We started with basil hummus and a shrimp dish that was flambed. Using their superlative peta, we gobbled up these delicious starters. Out of the Santorini wine, the very competent sommelier suggested a Pinot that was exquisite, comparable in price and the best either of the couples had ever shared. On to mains with falafel and lamb chops. Both very nicely prepared in terms of sauces, flavours and side salads. We were disappointed there was no rice pudding to conclude the enjoyable meal, but we decided to share a semolina custard. Good but the graininess of the wheat reminded me of sesame seeds. Although this is quite a large restaurant, the ambiance is intimate and welcoming. Truly, both our waiter and sommelier were first class, available and helpful when we needed them, the meal perfectly paced. Very impressive with great food.

This is an amazing restraint in a great location in the middle of town. The service is great, when the food is done, they rush it to you to make sure you are happy!! All the food is amazing. Everything is very fresh and you can definitely tell by the tasteā¤ļøš

The Meze burger and Chicken Souvlaki got a thumbs up from my family! Beware, the portions are huge and you will leave feeling stuffed!

We love their calamari, greek salad, and hummus. The atmosphere is nice and waitress/bartender was very helpful and attentive.

We are in town for a conference and wanted to grab dinner that would accommodate various dietary needs. We found the perfect place. The fos and drinks were absolutely AMAZING. Our waitress was excellent and provided great recommendarions. We all had the drink "Greek Freak" which was excellent. We decided on the family style vegetarian menu. WOW it was a lot of food. First course included hummus, babaganush, greek salad, stuffed grape leaves and my favorite falafel! Second course came out with spanakopita and a pasta salad. Last course was dessert. It was small donuts drizzled with honey and some Greek yogurt for dipping. I would highly recommend this restaurants and there will be a lot of leftovers.

We decided to try this place for our anniversary and it ended up being a great pick. First, we were expertly served by the friendly Patricia, who was terrific and helpful. We chose several of the smaller meze plates which gave us a good variety and plenty of food. We got the Asparagus Salad, Fiery Feta Mac & Cheese, the Greek Quesadilla, and the Garlic Mashed Potatoes. All were very good. They also gave us a huge piece of baklava and a giant sparkler (more like a Roman candle) to celebrate our anniversary. A memorable meal and we'd definitely eat here again.

We were shattered after a full on day and so arrived here not really in the mood for eating. The waiter I wish I remembered his name went above and beyond serving us quickly as the kids were starving and being so helpful. The food was delicious - the meats were so tender and we enjoyed it so much - lovely Greek food with great ambience and very busy which is a good sign - thanks for a wonderful meal we all really enjoyed it ! Even the fussy kids rated it 5/5

Couldn't decide where to eat, we walked up and down the streets in the Gaslamp and ended up back in front of our hotel... still hungry. Got a table outside and ordered some appetizers to get a taste of a little bit of everything--and everything was pretty darn good. Service could've been a little more prompt but it's a nice place to hang out.

First time here. We came here on a Friday late night and we were able to be seated immediately which was great! Delicious food and drinks. Nice decor, atmosphere, friendly staff..We had the Chicken Souvlaki Plate and the Gyro appetizer..delicious!! We will definitely be back!

We stopped in here as it was close to our hotel and we had just gotten off the plane. Sat at the bar, and weren't served right away but were acknowledged (they were busy!). At the end of the night the bartender bought us a round to apologize which was not necessary but very appreciated. Had the flaming cheese and the gyro plate, both were excellent. The restaurant is beautiful without being to uppity, you could definitely come in jeans if you want. Really enjoyed the ambiance and the food/drinks.

We make sure to stop by meze for lunch or dinner whenever we are in San Diego. Itās in the touristy Gaslamp district, they can get pretty busy on the weekends. We have never had a bad experience. Great Mediterranean food. For a fun experience order the saganaki, flaming cheese at the table side while hollering āOpa!ā

From the service to the food - this place will not disappoint. I was there With a group of 8 and we got drinks appetizers and food - the place was busy and our wait was not long at all. The service of our waiter made it enjoyable. A must - the fried cheese and the hummus platter. Amazing.

We really enjoy Mediterranean food, Meze was amazing. The meals were were delicious and plentiful. Look forward to visiting should we ever return to San Diego.

We ate here two nights in a row - good service, tasty food. We tried completely different dishes and were impressed with both. Would definitely recommend!

What a delight! Octopus was cooked to perfection. Moussaka was delicious. Gyros was great! Lamb was excellent. Limited menu. No tarama salata. No galaktaboureko on the menu.

This was a great place!! We got the greek tacos and loved it!! The atmosphere was welcoming and the customer service was surprisingly quick and kind.

Stayed directly across the street at the Residence Inn Marriot and had lunch and dinner at Meze. I was immediately seated and setup with drinks and appetizers and the service was exemplary. The food was fresh and very good.

We were not impressed with the food, we had hoped for so much more but got average food. The waitress was very nice but the food just didnāt live up to expectations.

My wife and I were visiting in town for a wedding. The restaurant was highly recommended by local friends. My wife and I love to eat out. She has Celiac so sometimes her ordering can complicate things. What I can tell you is that it was no problem. Especially because our server Josue was legit. Not only was the server smart on the menu, he offered us samples of other things to try and was as fun and chill about it as can be. We had a great time and the food was legit. Thank you. Thank you to Josue for a good time. We left stuffed.

I happened upon this restaurant while on business in San Diego. The flavors are simply phenomenal. I ordered the combo ($40) and added the lamb chops for $10. The presentation was great but the award winners were the. Chicken and the lamb chops. They gyro was quite good but the filet, while flavorful, was tough. When mentioned they were quick to bring another serving that was better but not on par. That said, just donāt order filet and you are destined to enjoy a great meal. Also the āhot sauceā (not so hot) but rich with flavor. I honestly felt transformed to another continent while dining at Meze.

Its seems that every Greek person thinks they can open up a restaurant and just because they are Greek, people will love their food. Not always the case. Meze is the expectation. This family truly understands good quality Greek food. Some of the best Pita I have ever had, wonderful Hummus and Tadzikh. Octopus was spot on as was the service.

Lucky find in a city full of restaurants. Ask for Tiffany. We changed our order at the last minute to the mezzo platter and were glad we did!

Food is boring and lacks flavor. Baba lacked smoke on the eggplant. Hummus? Meh. Gyro did not have authentic meat. Service was great thus this rating.

Not sure how this place ranks #31 in all of San Diego. Its nice enough and the hummus was really good. The gyro was just ok. Prices seem high plus the 4% they add on. Lunch for 3, with no booze was $175. Service was good. Won't rush back.

Great location bang in the middle of the gaslamp quarter. Loved the industrial setting inside the restaurant. Service was friendly and prompt. Food was really tasty and a little unusual. Everything was great.

Great place in the best area of town. Trendy but also kids friendly. Very nice meals. Great service. A find

The restaurant located downtown and is very trendy. Love the design. There is a good atmosphere. If you go there don't forget to order Sganaki which is fried flamed cheese. The food level was a bit disappointing not the taste and quality I would expect from the level of the price. Also service level was just OK. There is a place for improvement.

I love Greek food and didnāt mind the Mexican fusion elements that they added. We ordered the assortment of hummus/spreads with pita and it was great! Also thoroughly enjoyed my Greek salad with chicken though would have preferred it without the bbq sauce on the chicken.

We followed TA recommendations for restaurants within walking distance of our hotel. Restaurant is two-level--with more formal dining in the upstairs balcony area which was very noisy--getting both the noise from the first level and some kind of music with a loud, pulsing bass. Food was OK --not as great as i expected. Grilled octopus was well-cooked (not tough) but bland, fish entree was, again, OK but not stellar. Service was fine.

This place is really good! Started with the Greek Salad which had a creamy vinegrette dressing that was tasty. Main course was the Lamb Shank which had a really nice Greek spice mix and very tender. Finished it off with Baklava Cheesecake that was pretty good too. This is a really authentic place sure to satisfy your wildest Greek fix. You wonāt be disappointed.

Meze Greek Fusion serves Greek food with a unique twist. The service is excellent and the decor is very nice. An upscale restaurant feel with mid-range prices. We had delicious gyros with Greek salad and Meze fries topped with feta. Yum! We topped off dinner with Baklava cheesecake. It was like two desserts in one with a delicious baklava crust and creamy light cheesecake top.

Recommend by our hotel and so glad they did....food was excellent. Went back the next day to order the Fiery Feta appetizer, it was EXCELLENT. Enjoyed the Greek Freak drink.

Antonio is a fabulous waiter/bartender. The Pita chips and Greek salad were delicious. Fast service courteous wait staff. Felt like family before the night was over. The flour less chocolate cake is to die for. So yummy! Just go ...you know you want to!

We arrived at the airport and took an Uber directly over to Meze. Weād read reviews and decided to try it. We werenāt disappointed! I love Greek food and Meze offered a varied menu. Our waitress Angelica was super helpful with helping us decide. When it came to ordering wine, Ben Silver - Wine Director, Certified Sommelier, and Magician - was an additional unexpected bonus. At first I though he was the Manager. Then he came up to the table to help us select our wine, a glass of Porto Carras Limneon. Marie and I loved it! But it was Benās tricks that were a highlight! So although this restaurant is relatively expensive, we thought our experience was worth it! Price wise itās in between Mid-range and Fine dining. Weāll definitely be back the next time weāre in San Diego.

Nicely prepared small plates, nice selection of Greek wines. We had the cilantro jalapeno hummus, saganaki, grilled octopus and meatballs. We would go back. Only downside was that the meatballs could have been hotter and the server took a long time for our check - otherwise great.

I wasn't sure what to expect as the restaurant wasn't really crowded when I was there. I ordered a Greek salad and chicken Slovakia and have to say, it was the best meal I had during the entire time I was in San Diego and honestly one of the best food at any Greek restaurant I have ever visited. Truly enjoyable and I highly recommend it. The staff was just as fantastic as the food.

I've been eating here for over 10 years. Inflation has always been a thing, but thankfully the Meze Greek has still held onto to its quality food, friendly service, and at decent prices. Ambience and architecture: this is probably the sexiest Greek restaurant in San Diego...perhaps all of America actually. And Greece...I spent a week there once. Despite the crazy crowds of Comic Con, I wisely made a reservation a week in advance, so the 4 of us were seated promptly with little wait! Waitress was still energetic, professional, and friendly. $25 Gyro Plate...I know this is generic Greek, but it was a generous portion of that salty, meaty, moist, seasoned mixed meat that we all love. Came with some nice rice, veggies, pita, and yogurt sauce. $28 Salmon Plate...fresh salmon perfectly roasted, came with some nice rice, veggies, pita, and yogurt sauce. I'll be back!

Rather mediocre cuisine but expensive. The best thing is the tables on the side walk, where you can enjoy the sun. The dishes are a rather bad variation of the authentic Greek ones. I can not say that the service was much better than the dishes.

Meze is a lively place to have a fun Greek meal. Our server, Valerie, was our "guide". We ordered a series of "tapas" style appetizers that were wonderful. We also enjoyed some Greek wine to make it even better. Would definitely go back there when in town.

Had a lovely meal here with my family. Wonderful amazing staff and cooks. Our waitress Effie was absolutely exceptional. All the staff especially her were super friendly and accommodating, definitely went the extra mile. Absolutely best restaurant experience Iāve had in a long time.

We absolutely loved this place. The food is so good. Many options that were not too expensive. They had plenty of vegetarian options also. Everyone there was wonderful. They have happy hour with food and drink deals most days 3-6.

Walked 5 min. or do from Convention Center for lunch after a long flight. Greek salad w chicken was terrificānice, light but satisfying lunch, modest price, friendly, quick service! Couldnāt be happier and now fortified to continue a walking tour of Gaslight district!

If you love Greek food, this is the place for you! Everything was on point from the jalapeno cilantro hummus appetizer to the baklava cheesecake dessert. Greek kabob with filet mignon was GREAT as main entree. It was cooked to perfection. The house lager beer was crisp and refreshing. The waitress (Effie) did a great job making sure our food was up to expectation and drinks topped off every time she checked at our table. If I'm ever in the San Diego area again I'm going back to dine again. Top notch experience when it comes to Greek cuisine!

The 2 of us were able to share 4 Happy Hour specials. From jalapeƱo hummus to spanakopita to Greek tacos to wings. Each were excellent!! Great friendly service too.

Wish we could say more that is positive. āGreekā salad was mostly chopped lettuce. Gyros were subpar. Saganaki was nice. Waitress was pleasant but stretched thin.

Fantastic experience. Food was delicious, we had 4 small plates and one entree between 4 and shared 3 deserts. More food than we needed. Our server was great but the sommelier was the outstanding feature of the night, along with his wine knowledge he entertained us with card magic tricks all night.

Just returned from a disappointing experience at this restaurant. My husband and I were very excited as we had a very positive experience at this restaurant in 2018 when we were visiting San Diego. We made reservations and arrived 3 minutes before the time. We were told no seats were ready unless we wanted to sit outside. So the reservation was pointless. We were sat relatively quickly after. We waited about 10 minutes and were offered water. Another 10 minutes and I returned to the hostess to ask where our server was. "He was busy running around"... 10 minutes later and our server finally arrived. We knew what we wanted and ordered drinks and food immediately. Including asking for a side of pita. Drinks came shortly after by another server and someone else's food? The drinks were fine. A short while later and ANOTHER server brings our food. It's been a good 30 minutes until we had seen our original server. No Pita was brought. Asked our "not-server" for pita again. Was told they would bring some out... it never came. A long story short, extremely disappointed in the service and this place should be ashamed to have Josue as a server. If that was even our servers name...

Family dinner. Very nice location, ambience is lively Menu is a mixture of hits and misses. We loved the Doma and Lamb Chops. Others were not so good (Gyros was a disappointment) But the service is top class. Everyone is very friendly and hospitable.

Excellent Mediterranean food. Good setting in the Gaslamp District (on 6th). Sitting at a sidewalk table outside was nice and comfortable. The list of appetizers is extensive ā I never got to try an entree. Happy hour deals on drinks and apps offers phenomenal value for what you get ā quality and quantity ā and mm-mm-yum!

Met a friend here for dinner, light healthy options. Great service and people watching. The sea bass was excellent.

Decent food, but nothing special. Some portions are really small, e.g. octopus. I was still hungry after it, so I had a baklava :-). Friendly staff and cosy ambient. Nice location.

It's been almost 7 years since I had been to Meze when it was at a smaller location. I loved it then; I love it now. There were 7 of us....all eating something different and all loved what they had. The spinach and feta stuffed salmon was excellent (Solomos) as were all the dishes we saw. The cheesecake baklava was different and also excellent. Our server, Lester, was very personable, took all our orders without writing a single thing down and was very attentive. He made an already excellent meal a very good experience...especially for our out-of-town relatives.

Food was amazingly fresh, and the braised octopus was life-changing. Excellent service and great decor and drinks. Cannot wait to go back.

We went there twice on our weekend visit. Saturday and Sunday evening were both great dining experiences. The food was excellent and the service was good too. The drink menu is quite impressive and interesting. We tried different menu items on each visit. No complaints.

My husband and I tried this restaurant in the gas lamp district. Our appetizers were very good, especially the fiery feta spread with pita bread. I had falafel and he had gyros. Both dishes were spiced very well, a very important criterion to us-we hate bland food. Wish we had more time to return another day.

We had a great lunch of several small plates. The food was delicious and very flavorful. We loved the meze platter and the Greek meatballs. The hostess was friendly and Tiffany was informative and cheery. We enjoyed the stop before heading to the zoo.

We arrived at the airport hungry and looking for dinner nearby. We called the restaurant and told them that we had luggage with us and asked if here would still be a way to accommodate our coming there for dinner. The person we spoke with was so friendly and helpful, and said āOf course!ā. We took and Uber over, and got a warm welcome which was indicative of the the service we received throughout....friendly and accommodating to our needs. The atmosphere was great for relaxing, dimly lit and, since we were there early in the evening, still quiet. I imagine it gets hopping later! The food matched the service...excellent in every way. All in all a delightful place for a meal, made even better by the attention of the entertaining and well-informed sommelier.

Back-of-the-envelope summary? Greek tapas. Sure, you can have main courses, but we think that sampling several dishes is the way to go here. We loved all of them. Here's what we had: Homemade Jalapeno/Cilantro Hummus Shrimp & Ouzo Saganaki-flambeed tableside Dolmathes-essentially dolmas with wonderfully-seasoned ground sirloin, rice, mint and dill with avgolomono(?) sauce. Lamb lollipops. We enjoyed with a hearty Greek wine. The owner and our server are proud of their Greek heritage, and it shown through in the food, drink, and their enthusiasm. This place was pretty darn busy for a Wednesday night, although there was no wait for a table. I suspect that locals eat here a lot. If we lived in San Diego, we would. Located in the heart of the Gaslamp District.

Atmosphere was great. Server, Tiffany, by example, makes you want to go out and treat others better. She was so sweet! Food was awesome.

We very rarely go to Greek restaurants, simply because there are non where we live. The food was excellent, a lovely caring atmosphere, lead by the staff. Family run , it says , how proud the family must be (and hard working) . Beautiful room, lively and inviting. Can only recommend.

I am writing this review to warn other diners to not waste their money. Based on 4.5 overall average of ratings I saw online, my husband and I dined here while in SD for a conference. The ambiance is nice with a hip vibe. Our server was excellent, but the food was really lacking. I ordered the vegetable beef soup which was just okay. My husband ordered the Combo Souvlaki entree which included filet mignon, chicken and gyro meat. I tried the gyro meat which looked very pale and it was so soft it reminded me of dog food. It had a very weird flavor. My husband said it was like Spam. The filet and chicken were just okay. I also had the Greek Salad. It was fresh, but the dressing was very bland and I overall didn't enjoy it. The pita bread was below average too. We've eaten at a lot of Greek restaurants, both upscale and inexpensive places. This was by far the worst we'd had.

In addition to great food and service, Meze was also a cool place to hang out. My group had some food allergies and Vegan concerns....and it was no problem. Food and Tapas were 100% fresh and tasty. Nice drink selections. I will be back soon!

Found this place from a Google map search for restaurants close to The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park. My friend and I gave it a try and we both fell in love with the food, the service, ambiance, and location. We were raving about the Potatoes Lemonato and their house salsa. I had the Watermelon Feta Salad which was a perfect marriage of sweet, savory, temperatures, and textures. We left wanting to come back to try other delights on the menu. And I did! I ordered the Potatoes Lemonato and Greek Lemonade again. Tried their Baba Ghanoush on their convenient happy hour menu which was delicious! For my entree, enjoyed the GRILLED MANOURI & BEET SALAD and added falafel. Again such a good marriage of flavors and textures. The chef who designed the menu is very talented in the culinary arts for sure. This time saved room for the Baklava Cheesecake and so glad I did! Baklava + Cheesecake?! The best of both worlds. I wish I could remember the names of the food servers both from the first and second visit. They were both fantastic!

Service drinks and food were all great. Will definitely go back when in town again. We had olives and cheese. My friend had the watermelon salad and loved it. I had the fish and it was good although the rice was a little bland.

We had a great night. Sat outside to enjoy the great San Diego weather. We ordered 5 appetizers, all were delicious. The waiter was knowledgeable and patient. The highlight was when an employee came to our table and performed magic for us for several minutes

Visited Meze Greek Fusion while on a solo business trip near the Gaslamp District. As I passed by the restaurant, the atmosphere of Meze Greek Fusion was quite lively and exactly what I was seeking. I sat at the bar and was greeted immediately. Everything on the menu seemed like it would be quite appetizing, but I settled on the Filet Mignon Souvlaki. While I waited for my food, I had a few drinks and chatted with some of the people sitting at the bar. It wasn't long before my food arrived and it was everything I had hoped it would be....Delicious! I definitely will return the next time I find myself in the Gaslamp District while in San Diego so I can try out more of the menu.

Great food, good value for money. Super nice service with all kinds of San Diego tips and also a baklava on the house. It's also a very nice thing. Highly recommended if you are in San Diego!

Admittedly it was a Tuesday night and the restaurant was not busy. The food was quite bland with lumpy mash potato. The wine was overpriced and the whole place lacked atmosphere.

This is just what I was looking for. Great food in a fairly casual environment. The good news, there are many healthy choices to make in Meze. The Octopus was as good as the Amalfi Coast! I had the benefit to hang at the bar before dinner... also very good with great bar tenders. I will go back.

Extremely average and uninspired āGreekā foodā¦. The hummus, baba ghanouj, and pitas were pretty much straight from the grocery store. Undercooked grilled octopus, and very heavily breaded over-fried calamari rounded out a disappointing dinner. The supposedly hip, nightclub atmosphere looked more like a repurposed former Asian restaurant. Head to Little Italy instead.

I got the gyro plate mostly because everything on the menu seemed expensive at the time. However for what you get, there is actually a lot of food. We had an incredible waitress who was attentive, knowledgeable and bubbly. She was very well informed and helped a lot of our table with some indecision. Also appreciate the top notch atmosphere. Would recommend especially for groups! (We had 6)

Fowl smell emanating from the unwashed floor at the front of the building. Fortunately managed to get a place outside on the terrace thanks to a really nice waiter. Overheavy lamb chops that were eatable and a an ordinary feta salad with a horrible dressing that would struggle to make it onto the shelves of the local Costco.

Came here for dinner and the place was packed. They had indoor and outdoor seating. The music was loud and it looked like a club inside with large groups standing at tables. We opted for sitting outside by the sidewalk. Our waiter was good, our food was meh... the pitas bread was good, the tomato and basil hummus tasted good. They should put a few garnishes of tomato and basil on the plate. They overcooked the lamb gyro and chicken on two of the dinners so it was dry. The lamb taco had an odd sauce on it. We didnt understand the reviews. We love greek food and eat it often and we thought it was average.

Spinach pie very good. Souvlakia was a little unconventional (weāre traditional) but it was very nice! Greek micro brew in bottle..cool! Friendly staff. Would def come back!

As a San Diego native, I generally avoid eating in the downtown Gaslamp district if I have the choice. Itās premium price for average quality usually. I needed to eat somewhere in this neighborhood hood in a pinch, and this place fit the bill. My husband is on a Keto diet, and they were helpful with that. The Greek salad was fresh and substantial (entree size). I wasnāt wild about the saganaki, though the make a little show of it. The macaroni and cheese, with fire feta I think, was fairly bland to me. To me, with what I ate, this restaurant is average. I liked my salad, but not really anything else. Very nice service though!

Although I had called over a month in advance to make a weeknight dinner reservation that they didnāt seem to have on file, they quickly pulled together a table for our group. Food and service were great. I would suggest manager consider using Open Table for reservations.

We were unable to get into the restaurant we wanted to, but luckily stumbled upon Meze. We each had something different and each dish was terrific. Only sorry we discovered this restaurant on our last night here.

I travel to San Diego a few times a year for work. Meze has become a regular stop. The menu has lots of choices for solos, couples or groups. The small plate options let you try different flavours. The grilled squid is excellent. The atmosphere is good, the staff are friendly and the cocktails excellent. Iāll definitely be back.

Wonderful Mediterranean food! We had the jalenpo cilantro hummus and it was not spicy but so flavorful. The naan was warm and soft. Our gyro and tacos were cooked perfectly.

Went here for lunch. We ordered several Meze plates to share and were not disappointed. The saganaki was delicious and they set it on for table side which was fun. The meatballs are also good. The Greek tacos were amazing, particularly the lamb. The hot sauce on the table was really really good, and I would recommend trying it with the meatballs. Our server Tiffany was awesome and the service was very quick. She had a ton of tables but was super attentive. I would definitely return here and if I lived in the area this would be a regular place I would visit.

Meze Greek Fusion has a welcoming open concept. We had been there the night before on a food and booze walking tour in the Gas Lamp district and went back the next afternoon for happy hour. The Greek Sangria is light, dry and refreshing. The Greek tacos, meatballs, and feta dip were delicious with an explosion of delightful flavors.

Food was just okay , we ordered hot meze. Octopus was rubbery and the potatoes with lemon sauce were a bit oily. Lamb chops were good . Service was good, friendly and prompt.

There are a lot of disappointing restaurants in Gaslamp Quarter, but Meze is not one of them. Happy hour is terrific - from 3-6 p.m. and rather than just serving lower quality wine, they offer a discount off any of their wines. We started with happy hour and ended up staying for dinner. The food was very good, the room is attractive, and prices were good value. The only downside was the service. Our first server seemed confused, went to get help, and never came back. After that we had a procession of other servers, who were all fine, but we were never sure who our "real" server was and who to flag down for more water, etc. But overall it was an excellent experience and we would go back.

We were a group of 5 who had a great dinner. The service was great, very efficient. We all ordered appetizers of varied types and shared. Plenty of food for all and had some left. Would recommend.

We visited for dinner one evening, the restaurant/lounge is a cool place to dine ā nicely decorated and cool lighting. We opted for a selection of Kebab dishes, and various Hot Meze dishes. The server we had was super friendly and helpful, even bringing us a small amount of sauce to try to be sure we would enjoy a particular dish. The food was all fantastic, including the deserts we had chosen. Our second time visiting here, and not our last. We were even provided with a complimentary pot of the famous Meze hot sauce to take home, thanks! Highly recommend, for great food and great service!!

The restaurant had a very nice atmosphere and the staff very welcoming. Food was freshly cooked and delicious. The manager apologised for food taking a long time with complimentary hummus and bread despite food not taking too long in our opinion, which was excellent and very good customer care.

exceptional service, setting and food: attentive waitstaff with thorough explanations of the dishes, superb food in terms of presentation and taste, absolutely wonderful. They made our evening extra special -- I cannot thank them enough. Would return without hesitation.

Eating in the Gaslamp/East Village district is sort of like whack-a-mole, new places are popping up all the time and old ones vanish just as quickly. There are no restaurants here that one can get a decent cheap meal. Most of the places serve overpriced mediocre fare in trendy settings, Meze was no exception to this. Since were were in town to see a Padres game and Meze was almost across the street from our hotel and a couple of blocks from the stadium we ate there. We did get a 10% discount from our hotel off the Meze bill, which was nice. While the Meze's prices were not as stupidly expensive as many places in this district it was in no way "affordable" dining by any streach of the imagination. The food and service was "ok" and nothing more. We had no serious complaints but then again nothing was outstanding either. We were seated outside next to the railing that divided the sidewalk from the restaurant and my brother being the smart ass he is asked the waitress if the homeless people would be tasting his meal... as the area is over run with street people. But before we finished our meal one of the homeless leaned over and reached under our table and picked something up and took it... not sure what it was. She then said something to us (I don't remember what) and walked off. I guess my brother was not that big of a smart ass after all.

If you love Greek food, you're going to love this great restaurant in the Gas Lamp Quarter, San Diego CA. We were there in April 2024. A group of 8 and everyone enjoyed their meal. Generous portions so don't over order lol or you will have leftovers. We all had different appetizers and all had the Saganaki (flame š„) cheese. Mmmmmmm good! The tzatziki is amazing! Like home made, just perfect! Greek and Village š„ salads are fresh and include a tone of Feta cheese! We also had the meatballs, the lemon potatoes, and of course the Souvlaki!!! Would definitely recommend this restaurant. When we were there it wasn't too busy, but reservations are recommended. We stayed at the Margaritaville Hotel which was a 30 second walk, close to the Baseball Petco Stadium šļø. Great service from all the staff, very helpful, welcoming and cheerful. We all had a great time and would eat here again for sure!

It's worth the extra walk from the Fifth Avenue. Not as busy as those on fifth Ave. Food is good and reasonably priced.

Because Meze translates as taste meaning small portions to sample like tapas, this was perfect to be part of The Taste of Happy Hour event on June 8. The meze they were letting us sample was the fiery Mac 'n cheese which was excellent. The drink was Lime in the Coconut for $5. Loved the decor and spaciousness of the place and the overall vibe was very good. I will definitely be back for Happy Hour Meze as I love eating this way. Also the Taco Tuesday after 4pm looks like an amazing deal.

Went here for dinner on our last night in SD. We got the platter for 2 which was filled with a wonderful variety from the menu. So so good. Cool decor and good service.

It is very rare for us to return to the same restaurant two days in a row. However we made an exception with Meze Greek fusion. Their chicken wings were superb. They were very moist, tender, and delicious. Unfortunately, the chicken wings are only served occasionally. We think they should be a standard feature on the menu. We also recommend the Greek red sangria.

Popped in here for a quick business lunch midweek. Food was ok, no complaints but service was a touch hit and miss and the food was slow with one dish forgotten about and had to be asked for again. Overall a nice enough place to grab a lunch

Excellent Greek food! The lamb chops were perfectly prepared and succulent. Great service, professional and friendly staff. A must try when in San Diego! Iāll definitely be back.

Everything about Meze is amazing. We came with a large party for my wifeās 60th Birthday Party. Veronica and her team made this once in a lifetime event a fantastic experience. Food was amazing, our guests were blown away impressed. Our standard for Greek food is very high, Mezeās cuisine is among the best we have ever eaten. Donāt miss this truly great restaurant!!

Food was great, service was ok. Plenty of food and great flavor. Would definitely return, great atmosphere eating out on patio

We were here for lunch on Wednesday, February 12, 2020. The restaurant is beautifully designed for a cozy and casual feel. The staff is friendly and attentive. Our server, Tiffany, treated us like royalty. She made sure every detail was perfect including the additional order to go (for dinner at our hotel later.) Best of all, the food was delicious. Definitely the best hummus and falafel we have ever had. The Meze Platter for Two was more than we could finish for lunch. We will eat here every time we are in SD!

This place is average. Gyros were cold and food seemed like it wasnāt freshly prepared, salad was ok and lamb chops quite good. Food is less fusion and more Greek + token Mexican add-ons. Spoilt by tacky atmosphere complete with low lighting, loud music and tasteless Greek imitation spinning coins behind the bar. Wasnāt sure if I was in a club or a restaurant.

Good service. Really good souvlaki (Kebobs). We ordered some kind of shrimp on fire dish that was good. The salad was just okay. Very basic. It was good. I would go back and try lots more.

Great restaurant with small plates and full dinner choices. The atmosphere is lively but not too loud. The food was really great and better than most of the choices on Fifth Avenue. Have been most of the restaurants Downtown San Diego and not sure why it took us so long to try this place, but we will definitely return.

We visited twice during our stay in San Diego. Great service by Chris both times! We started with Saganaki both times which was very good. Lamb shank was also very good. Will definitely return.

My parents, husband and I went to Meze for lunch and shared a bunch of dishes. Everything was scrumptious, especially the lemon potatoes and the octopus, The only not-so-great item was the dolma: the grape leaf was fibrous. Everything else was just great.

Probably our favorite restaurant during our week in San Diego. We went twice during their great weekday Happy Hours, where drinks and some plates were reduced. The food was great and servers will gladly describe many dishes that are unfamiliar.

Four of us enjoyed sitting outside for a late dinner on a Friday. The Padres were in town and people leaving the game wandered by, as did many bachelorette parties, making for good people-watching. I had a Medusaās Mistress cocktail which was good, along with a yummy gyro. The others at the table also enjoyed their food. Our waitress was very good and friendly.

Waited 2 hrs for the food and only then did management acknowledge bad communication to the kitchen in order?! When the food did arrive some customers lost their appetite inaddition to the food did not taste like authentic Greek food, which I suspect is why the word āfusionā was included in the branding. After really looking forward to the experience the group of 8 people came out very disappointed! In my opinion. The staff g was under resourced

We were expecting a very different experience at Meze from what we read here and on Yelp. In fairness, it may be that we (unknowingly) came here a few hours after a Padres game had let out. The area was jammed with people with a TON of people jostling at the checkin desk of the restaurant, including several people we think were pickpockets. It was a MADHOUSE (and I gotta say the front desk staff didn't handle it all that smoothly, allowing people picking up takeout to stand and block the line). The feel of the place is a gigantic warehouse with garage doors in the front. Was more industrial and frantic than we had been thinking it would be from the photos. Food was ok- average greek and mediterranean fare. The hummus flavors were good but they were skimpy with the pita bread portions. Service, I will say, was very very attentive. Water refills left and right. Really nice staff-that is what we were expecting. Again, I imagine if we went on a quieter non-game day it would have been a bit more like what we were hoping for.

Went here on a Monday night and it was packed. Had the mixed souvlaki and it was delicious. Shared the flaming cheese app with my wife - recommended for the show! Service was also very good. Pricey but high quality.

I really liked the food here - we ordered several different dishes to try and were able to substitute bread for fries (had to be a gluten free meal) and make other changes with no issues or extra charges. Can't wait to go back and try more!

Nice place. Was pretty busy but showed up without a redo and got in no problem. Good food. Definitely go again. Had a mixed sharing plate.

Great freshly prepared food, lots to choose from menu and a good wine list. Staff very helpful and friendly.

We loved everything about Meze Greek Fusion. It's boisterous, normally crowded, and in a great location. The food was as good as the service. Don't miss it.

Most disappointing. The avigolemeno soup, which is my favorite at most places was mediocre at best. There were two pieces of chicken and a little rice ānot up to snuff. We also ordered the spanakopita that was pure spinach mush and came on of bed of arugula, where the leaves were yellow with brown edges. Should not be served to a paying customer or anyone. What was appalling is that the bathroom was blocked as was the ADA elevator to get there. It was full of storage and absolutely not up to code.

Fantastic food and service. In town for a conference and found this restaurant when looking for vegan options. A lot of options and the food was great. My carnivore husband was equally pleased. If looking g for delicious Mediterranean food, check this place out.

During our recent meeting at the SD Convention center we took a group over to Meze for a fabulous and authentic Greek lunch with flamed cheese, souvlakia and many Greek dishes. Everyone was excited to see the activity and eat the delicious selections. The lamb kabobs weāre delicious.

I had dinner here during my recent visit to San Diego. The food was really, really good. The braised am was exceptional. I was drinking Manhattans and they were made perfect. Definitely will be back next time I am in SD.

Had a delicious gyro lunch with Greek lemonade (lemonade with mint, thyme and pomegranate). Tiffany and Patrick made my visit with my sister extra special with great, friendly service. Sat is the shade but with an outside view on a beautiful San Diego afternoon. A wonderful day. Thanks

For five years in a row, we have attended a December conference in San Diego, and we have enjoyed lunch at Meze each time. We love the food and service at Meze, and it appears to be a popular place to eat, as well. The food is very good. My husband likes to order an omelette. I love their Greek Salad. And we always start with Cilantro JalapeƱo Hummus, served with delicious pita triangles. We also order the Saganaki on occasion. Entree portions are generous. Love the Mediterranean food. The atmosphere is very pleasant, as well. Service is attentive and professional.

The food is incredible - try the Cilantro JalapeƱo Humus!! The salad I had was amazing too! The staff is so kind, attentive and professional. Special mention to Tiffany for being an awesome bartender!!

Great drinks and food! We did tapas style and shared many small plates! Euro was the best and the meatballs were great as well! Service was great as well!

We went to Meze based on the recommendation of a colleague. I had the gyro plate and my wife had lamb shank. With 2 glasses of Greek wine, the bill came to $80. Even for the Gaslight district, the price was very high .The food was good, but way overpriced.

Visited during Comic Con. Had a reservation and were so glad we did as the place was packed. Food arrived within 10 mins of ordering and servings were huge ... gyro and lamb chops. Food was hot and very tasty. So fresh and delicious. Was so good we came back again the next night and again the food was just as good. Would definately visit again.

We were in San Diego for one night and met up with a local friend at Meze. The service was friendly and relaxed - we never felt rushed through our meal. We ordered shared, small-plate style and were very happy with all the dishes we chose. They also have some inspired cocktails to choose from - and don't miss the jumbo sized baklava for dessert!

Food was really just OK. No attempt to make appearance special-I ordered Moussaka and a square was served on my plate! Disappointed - price was expensive for serving.

Seafood Souvlaki. Simply delicious. Perfectly marinated and grilled. Few people get grilled shrimp just right. They did. Dessert was a slice of baklava cheesecake... yes, you heard right - baklava cheesecake. My server, Jen, was pleasant and engaging - rounding out a remarkable visit! Just go... you'll love it.

The only flavor that came through on my moussaka was the beef. The rest needed spices or something to keep it from being totally bland. At least the Greek lemonade ($5 with free refills) was tasty.

My friend and I walked to this place from our hotel and enjoyed a wonderful Greek dinner (they have other things as well). I had Moussaka. They also have a delightful Greek wine combo that Iād strongly suggest.

Delicious Greek tapas style dishes in the heart of the gas lamp. Amazing ambiance and service too. We tried the takzici, Greek lemon potatoes, feta Mac and cheese and chicken souvlakia. All amazing!

I ate here as part of a rehearsal dinner. It was amazing!! The restaurant staff was absolutely the best, even bringing us over a new hummus to try later on in the night. Love the atmosphere of the restaurant as well. Such a variety of options it truly was perfect yet unique for the dinner. There was something for everyone!

We are locals and came here as a party of 6 and it was epic!! Great food and amazing service! Jonathan was a great host! Canāt wait to come back!!

Ordered Gyro plate and Greek salad . Food was very bland not flavorful , salad was below average! Food Presentation non existent.

Nice restaurant, good size portions however our service was a little slow , drinks - my wife and mine arrived quickly however my daughters drink took over 20 mins (they totally forgot it!), once the food order was taken the prep time was good. My wife and daughters meals were very nice and I would have been happy about mine however both the Lamb AND the chicken were totally burnt to a crust (not just char broiled) this absolutely ruined the meal. I did complain to the waiter and he apologized and reduced our bill accordingly plus he provided us with a free desert HOWEVER this too was totally un edible because it had been microwaved to the point that it was hard as a rock! Overall a poor experience.

This is a great dining experience. The service is great, food is fantastic and I love the ambiance. We had the hummus, saganaki, spanakopita, solomos and the falafel plate. Definitely ate way too much, but it was so worth it. I will be back!

Came for dinner with spouse and a friend. Great experience! Reservation was honored promptly. Service was perfect with Morgan. Dinner was delicious- I hope to recreate the spicy feta dip, and the gyros plate was wonderful. Not a big fan of pulsing bass music, but it did lend energy to the evening. Would definitely return.

I have never been so inspired by food until going here for my bday! Fantastic service and the food was amazing! The whole vibe of the place was truly one of the best experiences I have ever had for a birthday dinner or even a night out since the pandemic! I highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to unlock their tastebuds into a whole new world of WOW! Thank you everyone there for a fantastic birthday last night!

I'm not a huge fan of Greek food but we decided to give Meza a try. The service and food were great. We ate at the bar and the bartender was very attentive and gave us great recommendations on a very busy night. The flaming saganaki cheese was outstanding. You must order this if you go. My entire group had a great experience. The owner/manager is an active participant in making sure your experience is a good one.

I come to this place every year for a company dinner, not one of my favorites. Great atmosphere, fantastic service but I personally not fan of how the food taste, a little over priced for the amount of food you get.

We didn't know what to expect when we arrived to a largely empty restaurant around 6:30pm, but we were very pleasantly surprised. We ordered a number of plates for sharing and truly everything we tried was delicious. Service is very good. Wine list has a lot to offer.

Before we get into all of the details that made this first visit to Meze the highlight of our San Diego/Los Angeles week vacation, let me just say the food is probably the most authentic I've had in the US and I've had it everywhere. The avoglemeno soup was about as good as my grandmothers. The portions are huge. The spanikopita was a slightly different take but incredible. Everything was fantastic. It's easy for places like this to do so well at everything else but have standard food. This is different. From Chicago's Greektown, to the Greek restaurants in Hell's Kitchen in NYC, Meze stands out as the best in class. And that's just the food. The wine suggestions by their inhouse sommelier, Ben Silver, were spot on, even though we were just in the mood for the Retsina. But Ben's magic tricks made this, perhaps, one of the most memorable moments for my teenage and young adult kids (and the grown ups as well). We all agreed it was the absolute best magic we've ever seen with a deck of cards. My youngest was laughing so hard and simply couldn't believe how crazy good Ben was. Overall, the service was impeccable. We can't wait to go back. Hands down, my favorite restaurant in San Diego.

This place is disgustingingly dirty. There are drug addicts unconscious on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant. They store their trash dumpster right in front of the restaurant and right next to outdoor seating. The floors are sticky with an unknown substance. If they allow the front of the restaurant look like this imagine what the kitchen looks like!

Per TripAdvisor, came by with some colleagues with high expectations. Wasnāt disappointed - food was good, service was awesome with a very kind and patience Tiffany. This made the meal experience so much better. Thank u Tiffany!

Fantastic! This place was so much better than we expected!!! Food and service was amazing! Didnāt expect the gyros to be served a different style but loved the quality and taste. Also dessert was heavenly.
Deal that is little known
The restaurant has comfortable outside seating and the food is excellent. Price is moderate and about par for the area. The one deal that is true bargain but no one realizes is the family pack for two or four. For two people, you can, for a unbelievably cheap $27.99, get a take out that includes a full order of delicious chicken souvlaki (grilled) plus a half order of filet, wonderful tasting rice, vegetable, a huge, freshly prepared killer Greek salad plus a hardy supply of pita and to die for yogurt dip. To double the order for four, it is an even better bargain at $47.99. Trust me, there is nothing cheaper and better tasting food in the district. The takeouts are neatly placed in high quality tin pans with a very sturdy shopping style bag. Quality all around. One caveat. They will decline the offer during their extreme busy hours on Fridays and Saturdays. If you want to have the family pact on weekends, place the order early like around 6 pm or you may not be able to. We had one experience like that and had to order the food a la carte and it cost most than double the exact same items that came in a family pact. I recommend you call instead of order online as it is confusing. Same pact delivered has a base price of $38.99 vis Doordash.
