Enjoyable place. Good menu. Staff is very attentive and friendly which made the whole difference. I have returned several times and got a great service consistently.

Nice place, great staff and very delicious food no matter what you’re choosing. You will probably need a reservation. Located on Michigan Ave you will probably find it.

I had a friend in town who was visiting with his family - they chose to stay at the Intercontinental. This restaurant happens to be attached to the Intercontinental, so we had decided to meet there before heading out. The bartenders were very friendly as well as very quick with the drinks. The bar also had a very lively atmosphere! We also got the garlic bread which was well made and tasted delicious!

Let me start off by saying, we came here 7 years ago and enjoyed it so much that my husband talked about the steakhouse for the last 7 years.. I planned a little getaway for us and booked Michael Jordan steakhouse to surprise him. It was probably one of the worst meals we ever had and for 250.00 we should have had a much better experience. First off we did not get any bread, it took us an hour to even get our order in. Claudia our waitress was terrible.. my husband ordered the Delmonico steak and it was tough and so much fat, also was cut in half. The Mac and cheese was spicy, the mashed potatoes trio was not good.. too much smoke flavor on the bacon and cheddar mashed potato’s. I really do not have anything good to say and we will not be coming back.. so very disappointing.

My family went here for lunch on a busy Saturday. The food was pricey but delicious. Unfortunately, the service was slow, but most upsetting was the fact that my purse was stolen from the purse hook under the table in the bar area. I was gone from the table for 3 minutes and within that time someone had snagged it. I reported it to the manager and sure enough, they saw on video footage that a man had indeed stolen it within minutes of my leaving the table. I even checked my air tag that was attached to my wallet and it disappeared right by the nearby underground train where the thieves obviously fled. From reading other reviews I see that other reviewers have had the same experience so that is why I’m trying to alert others to the risk of thievery here. Knowing this,Management should have better security in my opinion. Please be warned if u are going there.

I went to Michael Jordan’s Steakhouse with my hubby and kids. I ordered the Filet Mignon, which was to die for. The steak was tender, perfectly seasoned, and melted in my mouth. My son ordered a 16oz Ribeye which was cooked to perfection. My daughter ordered a Caesar salad which she enjoyed. My Husband and Son ordered the Flight 23. It was a meat platter comprised of 10oz of New York Strip, 4oz of Filet Mignon, and 6oz of Wagyu. The New York strip was cooked past perfection. The Wagyu steak was phenomenal. The beef melted in your mouth and was perfectly tender. There is a reason they call it the best cut of beef in the world. Even the fat of the Wagyu melted in your mouth and was better than some steaks. As well as the steaks the Flight 23 came with a delicious assortment of different salts and sauces. Along with that we ordered Wagyu meatballs which were amazing. The tomato sauce was rich with flavors. We also had a delicious garlic bread. As well we got a side of Mac n Cheese which was phenomenal. This was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Not only the food was great but the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend this restaurant.

The headline pretty much says it all. I'm in Chicago almost every week for work, and ordered a room service filet (the Intercontinental's steak comes from here) out of desperation one night and got the most perfectly cooked (medium) thick filet I'd ever had. It was so good, I ordered it again the next night, prepared to be let down measured to the great experience the night before. The next night's steak was exactly as good, and has been the 10+ times I've been since. I typically dine in the bar side of the restaurant. The environment in the bar is great-- low key, always a game on, rarely a wait and the food is just as good as in the dining room. Not a "scene," and it seems to pull plenty of locals despite the Michigan Ave location. Service has always been no-nonsense and attentive. I can't comment on the rest of the menu-- I literally only get the filet every time, and it has yet to not just not disappoint, but not be an exceptionally great meal.

Not from the Chicago area, so when visiting my daughter for the first time, I had so many choices for places to take her. I chose Michael Jordan's steak house. We we seated at window/booth. Wonderful spot. John was our waiter. He was attentive, very friendly and so helpful with suggestions on our food choices. Started out with garlic bread with blue cheese fondue. That was the best garlic bread I've ever TASTED! Crab cake was delicious. Salad was huge and so fresh and delicious. Both steaks were delicious and done perfectly. Very attentive staff for filling waters and clearing dishes off table. Great job! Thank you John for a wonderful experience!!

We went to celebrate a friend work Promotion and the experience was superb, starting from reception were the Manager Manny walked us through the beautiful glass bridge that head the stunning wall full of wines, John the person in charge to lead the experience. The appetizers were amazing and you have to have the Wagyu meatballs with the iconic garlic bread!! For main course we chose the meat flight. That offers 3 different options of great meat and the mashed potato trio added a delicious touch, last but not least the 23 layers chocolate cake is a Must to call it a day!

Everything we had was quality. The service, top notch, they even joined two tables together and accommodated our party last minute. Will definitely go back.

We were here for a business team dinner. The building is very cool and in a great location on Magnificent Mile. Menu has lots of great options, especially if you are a steak lover. Definitely try the bacon appetizer and the corn bread! The staff is friendly and helpful. Steaks were good.

We wanted to ty this place for 4 years-finally we made it! It was a date night. We did not have reservations but were seated within 5 minutes on a Saturday. I ordered the Delmonico 16 oz and my husband ordered the NY Strip 14 oz. with those you get a side choice of fries, mashed potatoes, or a vegetable. Our meals were wonderful! The flavor was so good and the portions were more than what we needed. The fries weren’t very good but my mashed potatoes were to die for! They were perfectly creamy and so buttery that I wish I had more of that than the meat. Service was good, atmosphere fun, menu options plentiful, and it was appropriate place or couples, small & large groups, and kids. The menu had a lot of varieties along with prices. Steaks were obviously $$$, but I saw good looking burgers that are “normal” priced if that’s your fancy. We’re so glad we did this!

My family topped off our trip with a great lunch. They offered a lunch special with salad or soup, entree, and desert for a very reasonable price. The New York strip was delicious, so tender. Pickled onions were very flavorful. I loved that they placed the steak on the mashed potatoes so the juices flavored the potato. So good. The sorbet was tasty and refreshing.

It was good. Not great, but good. Server was too busy hanging out with the party of 10-12 to stop by our table. Had to grab a busboy to get us a soda, then chase him down for some pepper. Then I got to chase him down again to pay our tab. Knowing that the service has been bad, we set the timer for how long it would take him to stop by our table so we could ask for the check. After 18 minutes I finally just got up and stood by the “register” to get my check. My steak was good and cooked medium rare.

My friend and I visited Chicago for St. Patrick's Day weekend and our last day we decided to treat ourselves to a nice steak dinner. We chose Michael Jordan's Steakhouse. Our waiter, Jason was a fantastic waiter. He made wonderful recommendations that were on point in regards to taste and presentation. If your visiting Chicago, yes I recommend you try. Order the Delmonico, you won't be disappointed. The garlic bread with the blue cheese fondue was also delicious, a must try. Ask for Jason, he is an excellent waiter and the nicest guy ever.

Had dinner here a couple of nights with colleagues. I was not at all impressed by food quality or service. The only "eye lifter" would be the prices. Steaks starting at around 50USD + sides easily end up at 70-80 USD/person. There are better steakhouses around at that price, like Gibsons.

Yes, everybody likes Mike But I was disappointed With the vibe of the room It seemed worn And needed a refresh And that was enough For me to leave And go to Morton’s

Visited on 9-14-19. The apps were great we had the garlic bread, crab cake and bacon combo which I would highly recommend. I was disappointed with the steak which really surprised me. I had the bone ribeye, it lacked flavor and it was not seared. I thought that the steak would be the highlight of the dinner, but it was not. Also they could not accommodate our group we had to sit at 2 different tables at different times.

you will be surprised to find very little michael jordan memorabilia here. but the food is fantastic. They sit their people very close, filling up an area at a time, so not very conducive to intimate conversation. There are so many wait staff they are tripping over you to get your water, etc for dinner.Split the entrees there is enough for two people. If you get the 23 layer cake, its enough for 4 people ha ha HOWEVER FOR LUNCH. it is packed. the waiter works the bar and the restaurant. they have a few happy hour specials, but the hostess was so rude!! after she brought us to the table,we had not even sat down and she said"dont put your purse on the back of our chair, because it will be in the way" really, neither of use had purses, just cell phones. The lunch service is terrible, no one came back to the table after our order was taken and food delivered. TIP IS INCLUDED !

We stayed at the InterContinental, so this is a natural place for us to have a late night drink and light meal after a CSO concert. The drinks are good and the dishes (baked shrimps and cheeseburger) are good. The servers are very friendly and professional. We enjoyed the experience.

Our second visit to MJ’s Steakhouse and we had another great meal - celebrating with the birthday girl. The filets were melt in your mouth, salad are huge - share with someone else; the bread and bleu cheese fondue is a must and the service was excellent!

Stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel. Ate at MJ's because it's part of the hotel. I was sick prior to arriving. Had tomato soup and grilled cheese to help my stomach and it did just that. Great service. Looking forward to going back and trying something else. Haven't eaten there in many many years. Was surprised it was still open.

Lets be honest you are paying for the name initially but the food is good. Steak filet was great. 23 layer cake was amazing and get a martini they can smoke the jumpman logo into it. Good experience.

Had a very nice dinner here while traveling for business. The restaurant has your typical steakhouse fare, with the usual prices for a metropolitan steakhouse. My NY strip was cooked as I asked and was delicious. Sides were fine if unspectacular. My dessert was excellent. Service was as you would expect from a higher end establishment. Would recommend.

We had a lovely meal here and delicious cocktails. The highlight was meeting the lovely David who was so charming & chatty.

Wonderful atmosphere- the bridge is awesome and it changes color! The food is equally magnificent! And the staff takes super duper care of you. Highly recommended!

I ate their twice during my trip to Chicago. The first day I got the Wagyu Burger, and it didn't disappoint. The next day was the Mac n Cheese it was good, but disappointed that you couldn't get chicken or anything in it. The customer service is average.

Disappointing! Faded glory. I can only remember the great MJ in chicago over 20 years ago when this restaurant was situated at other place. Now is nothing more or less than a hotel restaurant. You miss the thrill of The great MJ in all aspects in this restaurant. The fillet mignon was mediocre and even the staff didn’t know to advice how to prepare to best

My co workers and I were dining in the bar , having a couple drinks and Polo the security guard introduced himself. I’ve never experienced this situation and I want to sincerely thank him. We let our guard down in a busy bar and he politely said,” ladies, I’ve noticed you are enjoying yourself and I’d like to remind you your large purses are on the back or your chairs and I can see your wallets. There are hooks under your table to place them in a safer place. Please enjoy your night .” Well done Polo ! We appreciated that reminder. Thank you!

worth it. Colossal crab cake is a must! Great steak and the 23 layers cake is to die for! Good vibe and our server Sara was so nice and knowledgeable about everything on the menu, she definitely was a big help!

While we were in Chicago for a few days in May 2019, we decided to eat at Michael Jordan's restaurant. We knew it would not be cheap and we went anyway as a fun thing to do. All employees are very nice and friendly. The restaurant itself is very nice and old school. I had the Onion Soup which tasted great and was super hot as I like it. My husband had the M.J. salad with blue cheese dressing. He liked it very much as well. I ordered for my main meal the Filet Mignon, 6oz, which was plenty for me and my husband took the Ribeye (with the bone !?!) with 3 scallops (special of the evening). We ordered the mushrooms + the fries as side dishes and we were disappointed as they were way too salty/seasoned. As my mother would say, less is more. So go easy on the seasoning and let your clients decide if they need more or not. We were seated by the window on the second Floor. Very much appreciated. They also sell T-shirts, beer glasses and other fun things to bring back as souvenirs. Very nice evening in Chicago, lovely, lovely city !

Steaks and burgers are quite good here, and service is excellent. The biggest problem is with the price. It's simply too expensive, even when you know it's not cheap.

We went on Sunday after the Chicago Marathon to celebrate. We had a reservation for 5 people and were staying at the hotel. If you are staying at the Intercontinental you get 10% off. We showed the server the 10% off card and he said no problem and brought out free garlic bread, which was appreciated. After we received our mains they forgot 2/3 sides, and we waited over 10 minutes to receive them, even after our entrees were getting cold. We even overhead the server apologizing to the manager, but she did not remove them from the bill. We also did not receive the 10% off on the bill, and had gratuity added even though our party was only 5 people... He did discount 10% but we had to ask a second time. So the service was below average for the price, and to be honest, the food was poor. The steaks were not worth $50+ a la carte. There are so many great steak houses in the River North neighborhood, this is not one I would return to, even when staying in the hotel. And our family is in Chicago and we stay at this hotel at least once a year. We picked this restaurant for convenience (and a lack of wanting to walk anywhere after the race), and to be honest, it left a bad taste in our mouths on what should have been a very celebratory evening. I wish we had gone to any other steak house nearby.

The food was very Delicious! Sarah provided Excellent Customer Service! Great Experience! A must visit!

We went here with a group of friends looking to have a good fine dining place to eat downtown. We initially wrote off MJ's Steakhouse because like...what does MJ know about steak. Surprisingly, maybe due to eating like a baller for years, he knows a lot. We sat at the bar rather than get a table even though there were 5 of us. Priced inline with a good steakhouse, the bartender/waiter did a great job suggesting steaks, giving recommendations, and uplifting the mood with a joke here and there. The steak was cooked perfectly. I usually get a Pittsburg sear medium rear. Many places don't know what this is or end up burning it. Again this was perfectly prepared. The drink options were innovative and varied enough to. make everyone happy. And, what put it over the top is that the sides were very tasty and included classics but also funkier options like Duck fat fried rice and corn off the cob with a little kick.

Let’s review the food, service and ambiance. Michael Jordan’s steakhouse fails on 2 of the 3 areas. We had a “private “ room for a party of less than 20 people. Our bill was over $3000 with NO alcohol. Seated in the Hall of Lions (the room pictured on their website under private dining), we had 7 or 8 groups walk down the stairs, around our parties table and through our “private” room. A total of 40-50 people walked through in the first 90 minutes. When you pay for a private room, you expect a private room, not a pass through hallway. FAIL The food was adequate. When your client’s comments about the meal center on how good the side dishes were, you know that this isn’t going well. For example, one person ordered the ribeye medium and it arrived well done, absolutely no pink. Another person, when asked about the pork chop replied, “It was ok. I really liked the Mac and Cheese with it.” Damned by faint praise. The desserts arrived, 9 single serve desserts for 16 people. The service was excellent but the rest of the meal and the “private” dining experience was no where near the $200 per person.

After travelling from England, being massive bulls fans. We could not wait to try the steak house, and we were definitely not disappointed. The steaks are slightly pricey but worth every cent. The nicest steak we’ve tried to date. Can’t wait to come back June 2021. Manny behind the bar offered great service, very chatty and polite!

We travelled from England for my husbands 50th birthday. We went to watch Chicago Bulls as my husbands hero was Micheal Jordan and he always wanted to see the bulls. I decided to book Mucheal Jordans for dinner as a suprise but couldnt book it as it was to early. I wanted to mske sure we had a booking and contacted the restaurant direct. Jorge V was so helpful and booked us in. On the day we wete greeted and sat at table 23 i was so happy and my husband was impressed. The staff was great and the ceasar salad was the best i have ever had. My husband had a steak which he enjoyed and i had scallops which were cooked so well. It was a lovely experience. Many thank Jorge.

Visited 2 times while attending conference at hotel. Had giant crabcakes and steakhouse burger which were excellent. Have had alot of crabcakes in my day and this was different (but not in a bad way). It didnt have any breadcrumb fillers that we could tell. It had a nice sear on both sides and was entirely made of crab! Very fresh tasting. Burger was a nice mix of meat. Second visit included Italian beef sandwich and 23 layer chocolate cake with trio of ice cream (chocolate, vanilla, caramel). Excellent again. Numerous cocktails at both visits including wine, mules, sangria, and old fashioneds. Strong pour which we appreciated on St Patrick's day weekend. 1 star off for unhelpful hostess (but another staff member quickly sat us at open tables) and more space needed between bar area and table seating.

I don't understand why some people who dine at Michael Jordan's Steak House in Chicago are disappointed when they aren't greeted at the door by MJ himself and don't see any sports memorabilia adorning the walls. It isn't MJ's city any longer. Remember, he lives in Charlotte, North Carolina. This steakhouse, which opened in 2011, is owned by the Cornerstone Restaurant Group. Located at 505 North Michigan Avenue, in the InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile Hotel, it offers two signature items that carry Jordan's blessing--the 16-ounce prime Delmonico steak, said to be MJ's personal favorite, and the 23 Layer Chocolate Cake. My wife and I have dined at MJ's on several occasions over the years. We especially enjoy a lunch break during a busy day of shopping on the Magnificent Mile. But during the NBA All-Star Game weekend, we didn't notice any NBA stars breaking bread or hoisting a beer at MJ's. Open from 11 to 10 Monday through Thursday, 11 to 11 on Friday and Saturday and 11 to 9 on Sunday, it is a two-level luxury steakhouse that also offers seafood and American classics with a fashionable first-floor bar and wood-paneled dining room. We started with garlic bread, shrimp cocktail, caramelized onion soup and Caesar salad with olive oil croutons, parmesan cheese and grilled chicken. For an entree, my wife had a six-ounce filet mignon with mashed potatoes and roasted asparagus. I had to sample MJ's prime 16-ounce Delmonico steak with hand-cut fries and corn off the cob. For dessert, we shared a pecan tart with candied smoked pecans and praline ice cream and MJ's 23 Layer Chocolate Cake. Even if Elmer Fudd's name was on the marquee, this would be a go-to destination for restaurant lovers in general and steak lovers in particular.

We got really good food and wine and exceptional service. We spent the morning at the new Chicago Architectural Center and this was the right place within walking distance--kept our easy-peasy parking in the building of the CAC and just walked across the river! The building is really cool and historic as well--kind of like icing on the architecture cake. I had never been particularly interested in MJ's--thinking it was probably just another chicago celebrity restaurant, but this was a great surprise.

We loved this place. After a long day shopping on the Magnificent Mile we wanted to come back to our hotel and relax and have a great meal. We felt that this meal met our expectations. It was phenomenal. We shouldn’t have expected anything else. With Michael Jordan’s name associated with it, it had to be exceptional, and it was. Many thanks to the staff. Homer our waiter did a great job. Michael would be proud, Jim.

I got the chance to be in Chicago for my bday this year and took the chance to go to MJs steakhouse. It was superb. The meal took long to arrive but it was perfect.

Jordan's is trying to compete with the best steakhouses in Chicago, and while it's good, it's just not up to the standards of the best (in our opinion, RPM, Maple & Ash, Mastro's, and Steak 48). Our party of three went during Restaurant Week, which is a great way to try new restaurants and take advantage of discounted pricing. We ordered off the prix fixe menu, supplemented by a few additions. The meal started well -- the garlic bread with blue cheese fondue is nicely presented and very tasty. And the smoked seafood chowder was as good as we've had anywhere. We had two filets and the NY Strip for entrees. The filets came with a mushroom crust, which was way too salty. The chili-espresso rub on the NY strip was OK, but should have been a little more subtle because it overpowered the steak. The fingerling potatoes accompanying the filets and the aligot potatoes with the strip were excellent. We ordered two appetizers, the Nueske's bacon and the crab cake. Both were good, although we've had better. Add-on brussels sprouts were very average -- honestly, ours are better at home. The corn off the cob was good, but better reheated as a leftover the following night. The bread pudding and creme caramel prix fixe desserts were very good. Service was very friendly and attentive. Our tab for the evening was $420 including tax and tip. We had the three $48 prix fixe selections plus two add-on appetizers, and two added vegetables. We added four glasses of wine at a discounted price, plus another glass and a cocktail off the regular menu.

was very looking forward to visiting, it is bit expensive but hey we were on hols to Chicago, the food was amazing loved it all and the service was good as well.

Walking into a spectacularly designed restaurant in keeping with the architecture of the city, doesn't always ensure a meal that matches, but Michael Jordan's Steak House provides an overall excellent experience. The atmosphere was elegant without being stuffy and it was quiet enough for an opportunity to speak to one another without having to raise our voices. Our server provided excellent suggestions for food, beverages, portion sizes and was perceptive about the timing of the service. The food was excellent! From the garlic bread to the salads to the tender steak accompanied by the delicious sides (mushrooms and three types of mashed potatoes), we were loath to leave a crumb behind. As there was a world championship soccer game being played that night, we chose to have dessert in the lounge and finish our wine there. Our server's suggestion for dessert (peanut butter pie) was excellent as well. Michael Jordan's Steak House was incredible as the basketball playing of the restaurant's namesake.

I loved this restaurant. We both had the filet and shrimp. Mine was cooked perfectly. All three mashed potatoes were great. I preferred the Goat cheese mashed potatoes. The mushrooms were okay. I'm not much of a mushroom person. The 23 layer cake was awesome. Way too much for us to eat. The staff was friendly and quick to take care of you. I was given a birthday card. I would recommend to a friend. I would absolutely visit again.

Petite filet of delicious amazement. Micheal Jordan cooked it on the court and now in the kitchen. Loved it.

Wow!! We went for 2 birthdays and stayed at the intercontinental which has an awful toxic smell. We had drinks at the bar, we could not find our server. He was not happy as we had to ask for him. We came back after a meal and a glass of wine and because my eyes go red glossy they would not serve us. They are a bar and we were not intoxicated. What a joke

This place is seriously overpriced - $65 for a less than mediocre filet and considerably overrated. None of the advertised draft beers were available due to ongoing refurbishment of the main MJ restaurant and the beef was far from enjoyable. Jordan needs to think seriously about associating himself with this place as it’s past its best - faded glory riding on the laurels of a once great sportsman and best avoided.

Have visited this steakhouse a few times - a Chicago original and must for anyone who loves a great steak dinner. Perfect tenderloin

I went to have lunch with a few co-workers for restaurant week. A co-worker and myself both ordered a dish that we weren't too satisfied with. Brian was right there to help, I almost didn't know he was the manager. He didn't brush our concerns off but instead, jumped right in to attempt to correct it. In the in, it was handled and we both walked out satisfied. He was a personable guy and I appreciated his professionalism. I didn't give it 5 stars, only because there was an issue with the dish but his response to my concerns ensured that I would return without hesitation. Thanks Brian from the lady on the end seat, lol.

My daughter and I came here on 10/22/21 for her 14th birthday. We had excellent service and meals. She and I were both so impressed by our experience here. Food was delicious (we got the Steak Frites, Filet and 23 layer cake). Highly recommend for anyone looking to treat themselves, or even their kids for a special event. My daughter received a complimentary cheesecake for her birthday and that made the night extra special for her.

My wife and I stayed at the hotel that mj’s steakhouse is located. We sat in the bar area. We had the bacon app and the bbq beef fat fries. Both were awesome. We shared the filet, and added the chipotle butter shrimp. For the side we had the duck fried rice. First the steak was perfect buttery and melt in your mouth. The shrimp came in a cup swimming in the chipotle butter. They were tender popcorn sized and super tasty!!! The rice was so good the duck pieces soft melt in your mouth pieces. For dessert we had the 23 layer chocolate cake. Imnotabigchocolate cake person but I couldn’t stop eating it it was excellent. Service was excellent. Our server was able to take care of us without a problem. Even though she had a large group with small children. A wonderful dining experience all together.

This place is really good. The prices are ok and the service is good.. The food has good quality . The ambience is nice . The services was great. I’ll back here again

We walked in late one night, got a table in the bar. The service is subpar. She seemed irritated that she had a couple tables that stayed after dinner to watch sports. The food was delicious. I thought it would be just ok considering we’re here for the name. But the steak was cooked perfectly, juicy and tasty. The beef fat fries were addicting. And the drink with mj logo was good too.

I went on New Year’s Day, later that evening I was staying at the IHG hotel went down for dinner and the food was terrible sent it back after discussing why it is over then under cooked received no apology’s just over priced for no good reason..

Birthday dinner with an awesome steak. Staff was very curtious very attentive. The mac and cheese and brousel sprouts were delicious. Knifes are engraved. Got a birthday and some yummy dessert. Did not give it a 5 star rating because you have to buy everything separately. $250 dinner of 2

My wife and I had a great experience here celebrating our anniversary. The food was very good and the service was excellent.

The four of us had a late lunch after a cubs game. Food was okay but pricey nice environment and pictures.

Been here a few years ago and thought it was good. Here for a business dinner ( would guess 95% of people were the same). Ate in the Bar area which I always prefer at most restaurants. Service was spotty but no complaints...they were very busy. We ordered a chopped salad, steak and asparagus. I ordered the 12 oz. strip and my friend the 16 oz. rib eye. I expected good and got one of the best steaks of my life. Tender, perfectly cooked ( a little beyond Medium which most places can't do) and the test was so good I could have kept eating. The most different tasting steak I ever had...so good. I'm from Chicago area and these credit card places are packed. MJ's was packed. I would recommend to anyone who wants a great steak. Great drinks also. Decor good but nothing special. More for business than special night out.

The service wasn’t great. They had several of what appears to be their friends hanging around. The steak was good but not for that price. I really didn’t enjoy the meal. Ate and left.

from the vibe to the server (ask for Jen), to the local focus on food and drink - i say come to Jordan's. Not only was the guy the greatest of all-time (well i do think LeBron has eclipsed him, and now here comes young Luka) - but he can direct a food and bev program like no one's business. Is Scottie Pippen in the kitchen? Seriously - the place is outrageous. Come and enjoy. T'Man '19

Great restaurant with excellent service. We ordered the 32 oz bone in filet and the trio of mashed potatoes. Very good! We even talked to a famous baseball player while waiting in the bar.

We are visiting Chicago for Mother’s Day /Anniversary. We were excited to have brunch at Micheal Jordan’s Restaurant on Mother’s Day on Michigan Avenue. We went to the restaurant on Saturday to make reservations. The waiting staff told us that we had to dress business attire or sit in the bar area. We dressed appropriately for the main dining room and get there well in advanced of reservation to find out that the main dining room is not open due to limited staff on Mother’s Day (of all days). We are crammed in the bar area with people dressed in tennis shoes and jeans actually what they told us not to wear. We had to wait for our food after ordering then they bring out half cooked salmon. The waiter never came to check to see did we need anything (water, dessert nothing). Very disappointing experience on Mother’s Day... SAD. Shame on Michael Jordan for having his name on this restaurant $$$$.

We were having drinks with another couple at a high back table in the bar area. Right before getting the bill, the security guard comes to me and tells me to please move my purse hanging on the back of the high back chair to the hook under the table. I told him thank you and placed it there. While waiting for the bill, I received a fraud alert on my phone from not one, but four credit card companies regarding thousands of dollar transactions at Nordstom, Saks, and Target. I reached into my purse and my wallet was gone. Someone had walked through the bar area and stole the wallet right out of my purse. Cash, credit cards, gift cards, Louis Vuitton wallet—-gone. After all my credit cards were frozen, I filed a report with the security guard at the Intercontinental. He said he would review the cameras and get back with me, but never did. Even after police report was completed. He told us that this happens all the time due to the multiple entrances and exits of the steakhouse and bar. Professionals walk through and scope out the place, leave and tell someone else to swoop in and steal and leave. What frustrates me so much is that the restaurant and bar are aware of the situation and yet have done nothing to fix it. Especially after reading several reviews of other wallets stolen in the restaurant. So I hope this helps at least one person be more aware of their surroundings and keep your handbag close to your body!! Sidenote, the drinks weren’t that good and way overpriced as well.

We were able to get a reservation easily. The food was lukewarm and by time I was done with my filet it was cold. The server offered to ‘warm’ it up but I didn’t want it cooked longer or microwaved and she didn’t seem very concerned about it other than to say she’d tell the chef. It took about 25 mins before we placed our order. My husband’s wagyu ribeye was not very flavorful. All in all a disappointing experience for the price. I will add the cocktails were fun- I had the jump man - and the mocktail my daughter had was great.

Food took over an hour to arrive. Ok, maybe good not great, have had better steaks. Waitress said kitchen is on 2nd floor. So how is that my poor planning? Waitress stated others served fish (salmon) receive their orders faster. ??? Waitress stated broiler is backed up (something about a large party in another room?) and she cannot control when food comes out. Pandemic has left them short-handed. Table busser came over and commented about our plates and how was the food. He was then surprised we had not received it. Shortly thereafter, food arrived. ???Waitress asked if we were locals and then where we are from. How does that make a difference? Do locals tolerate long waits? Certainly not when driving their cars.

We love staying at the Intercontinental Hotel when we come to Chicago for business. And we aways have to stop here for a nightcap. We love everything about it. The bartenders are great, food drinks are good too. This place is always packed and somehow you can find a place to hang out.

Words would never do the food justice. We went here for our Thanksgiving Dinner and we were not disappointed. We started off with the garlic cheese bread and it truly was a scrumptious starter. Then we had the steak flight with the potato flight. The steak flight was unbelievably delicious. The potato flight was okay but I would just go for the sweet potatoes. They were simply amazing. The staff really was attentive and we did not want for anything. Overall it was a wonderful experience.

I am in Chicago, starting a new medical residency programs. The days are very busy but the evenings are free. My classmates and I are staying at the Marriott on the Magnificent Mile and across the street was Michael Jordan's steakhouse. We walked over and the dining room was fully booked but the 'pub/lounge' had room for us. It was nice, filled with Chicago Bulls and Michael Jordan memorabilia and photographs. But the place was loud. I had to shout to be heard by the person sitting next to me. And given that the steak was $93 US, I expected more. I expected a better atmosphere, better seats and tables (I was at a high top on a chair with poor lower back support), and an ability to talk to my table mates in a normal voice. The food was good but it was not better than other great steakhouses I have been to. For the price I paid, this was a very disappointing experience.

The rib-eye was the best steak I have ever had. Cooked to perfection. The crab stuffed shrimp was fabulous with the bits of andouille sausage. Everyone in our party was raving about the quality of their steaks. The service was on the same level as the food. They were very attentive to our needs without being intrusive. When we got the bill our party did not look at it closely and added a 25 % tip to it. We were leaving and our server chased us down outside and informed us the tip was automatically added in. We were more than happy to have paid that for the dining experience we had!

Perfect restaurant location and great atmosphere. The food is outstanding and the dessert is crazy big. The 23 layer cake is delicious.

I’ve got to be honest here; I was drawn to this place because of the Michael Jordan name. I’ve been to excellent steakhouses in Chicago but this time I was looking for something more than just a nice, fancy dinner and I do admit I went into this place hoping to get myself immersed into some good old MJ’s paraphernalia and memorabilia. Needless to say, I got disenchanted when I found next to nothing in in this regards. Disenchantment bias aside, the place is architectonically gorgeous: an elegant setting pairing a magnificent historical building (Intercontinental Hotel) with remarks of modernity. However, the historic building plays against comfortable accessibility. The main dining room is located upstairs, and the accessible route is through the hotel’s elevators, so when your table is ready, hostesses kindly ask you to exit the restaurant, enter through the hotel’s doors, go through the lobby and head to the elevators which will take you to the restaurant’s mezzanine only, from there you’ll get to your table through a stair lift. Quite an excursion for just reaching your table and not without inconveniences, such as staff having to find someone who knows how to operate the before mentioned stair lift. Once at your table the place attains to steakhouses’ standards; menu included. Although service is top notch, I do believe there is some fine-tuning needed. As an example, I can’t recall the waiter serving bread, though not sure if bread is served per request (something I’d find odd at a prime steakhouse). Also, it felt like the waiter (more like his assistants) was not very attentive: not taking menus or plates away nor clearing the table constantly. Finally, at the very end of the dinner the service felt somehow rushed, as if they wanted us to leave. The waiter even brought the check along with the coffee as giving for granted we were already done and ready to go. Anyway, I wouldn’t call the service rude but there is definitely room for improvement. From a food standpoint, the place serves prime quality for sure though not the best I’ve had at a steakhouse. As starter, the crab cake was bigger than usual and way packed with crabmeat, but unfortunately it was not as tasty as one would have expected. When it came to steaks, they were high quality and perfectly cooked, no complaints here nor any other remarks –prime steakhouses’ business as usual as so were prices. Side dishes, on the other hand, were spectacular! They were indeed some of the best mac & cheese I’ve had at a steakhouse, and the lobster-mashed potato was definitely the BEST mashed potato I’ve ever had! This should be a MUST if you’re visiting this place for dinner, but be aware that the mashed potato side dish consists of 3 different servings, only one being the SPECTACULAR ONE. In both cases, side dishes were big enough for two to share. All in all Michael Jordan’s Steakhouse is a very good steakhouse (still far from outstanding). If you’re planning on visiting just be sure you’re doing so because of this place being a very good steakhouse rather than for trying to experience –somehow– what the name Michael Jordan stands for. If you’re like me, wishing to dine immersed within MJ’s paraphernalia, your experience might not be what you aimed at. However, the place will certainly not disappoint.

It is one of the things we wanted to do, since we were Jordan’s fans from the days he played in NBA. His steak house is a nice place in the center, and though humidity was big we decided to stay and eat in tables outside instead of inside. We ordered of course steaks and salad, service was prompt and the dishes were nicely presented. Taste wise it was satisfactory and the prices analogous to competition.

Great service, nice bar menu, great for drinks after a night out, some interesting martinis, all in all a great spot

Stopped into Michael Jordan's Steak House seeking a quick snack, we opted for their Wagyu Meatballs, and it was an excellent choice. The dish comprised perfectly seasoned Wagyu meatballs accompanied by a rich marinara sauce, beautifully complemented by whipped ricotta. The grilled ciabatta added the perfect crunch, enhancing the overall texture and flavor profile. Every bite was a harmonious blend of flavors that left me craving more. To accompany this delectable dish, we chose the Hazy Beer Hug by Goose Island Beer Co. The hazy IPA provided a refreshing contrast to the robust flavors of the meatballs, making for a balanced and satisfying meal. Our server Taylor provided impeccable service, adding to the already wonderful experience. The ambiance of the restaurant was inviting and added to the overall dining experience. Whether you're stopping by for a quick snack or a full meal, Michael Jordan's Steak House is sure to impress. Highly recommended!

While staying at Intercontinental on Michigan Ave. we had a quick bite here. Their grilled cheese and tomato soup were the best we ever had. Sandwich had thick bacon and tomato......terrific!

Tried one of their burgers! It was really good, probably the best burger I’ve had In a while! Great size and the fries were amazing!

Im sorry to say this. This was my Wife and I second time at MJ Steakhouse in Mohegan Sun in Ct.The first time we where there it was to die for.We have raved to our friends about MJ Steakhouse and the experience of the steaks, especially the porterhouse for two.Only this visit we were very dissappoinnted the steak quality was not good,It was small and cut into cubes instead of it being sheared off the bone. But I must say the hospiltity was outstanding .the major dee was very apologetic,Please dont make changes

Overpriced and food quality lacking. I’ve had significantly better steaks at Texas Roadhouse! Sides barely warm. Steak was unacceptable quality. Big disappointment!

Must eat here!! We had MJ Prime Steak and NY Strip Steak with garlic mashed and opened with garlic bread. End with #23 layered cake. The wine CABERNET SAUVIGNON DONATI FAMILY was fantastic. Your taste buds will thank you and the service was impeccable. We are so lucky we stayed at the Intercontinental Chicago.

Highly recommended for a stop. If I may: I would order any filet mignon, chef's recommendation for temperature. I can't think to say more about them, because this kitchen's steaks speak for themselves!! I'd make sure to get at least one side dish. I'd also ask for drink recommendations, but you could order something that catches your eye, no problem. My wife didn't like one cocktail, but found another one just as adventurous that hit the spot. And the waitstaff recommended a late-harvest Muscat that is easily the best glass of wine I've ever enjoyed. Going to dinner? Try a dessert; we enjoyed both of ours. Lunch? The steak sandwich is a killer. See if bartender Ryan is there - he serves a stunningly crafted gimlet. One request, though, from my fellow diners - - TAMP DOWN YOUR COLOGNE OR PERFUME!! If you can't, then STOP WEARING IT LIKE BATHWATER!! You made my wife choke, and there is no need for you to ruin steak-eating for everyone else.

Eat a filet mignon here was like watch MJ playing at the old Chicago Stadium: sensational, astouding. Jucy, tender and very well seasoned steak served with amazing mashed potatos. Confortable seats, decoration brings memories of the real basketball King, good service. Menu prices are expensive but I did enjoyed my experience here. I do recomend this place.

When this place was booked for my first visit to Chicago, I was super excited The expectations I had were through the roof I think I was expecting a Planet Hollywood experience and so imagine my disappointment when all I could find, in relation to the sporting legend, were just prints on the walls There was not a single piece of authentic MJ donated memorabilia - not even a signed game worn jersey The waitress serving us do a great job all evening and was sadly let down by those around her…including her manager who failed to even acknowledge our existence even after their immense failure The food itself was decent….well the steaks were The sides were inconsistent Eg we ordered creamed spinach The first batch that came out was just plain steamed spinach The second batch was the creamed version Why two batches? Because they set down three meals incorrectly and we had to wait for fresh orders which meant we had to have fresh new sides too How can you fail to be inconsistent in a “high end” establishment It has to be considered a high end restaurant because the prices most certainly doesn’t match the value After they messed up our order, we were informed this infamous manager would address us - never did Sadly, two of the guys missed their trains due to the incompetent service I so badly wanted to love this place and the waitress aside, they let themselves, the establishment and the name of Michael Jordan down Would I return….not whilst Morton’s is just down the road

From start to finish everything was great. The customer service was excellent. We had the 32 ounce bone in filet with the mashed potato trio. Wow, it was absolutely fantastic. I have celiac disease and the waiter was extremely knowledgeable on what I could eat and what could be modified.

We ate dinner here while staying at the Intercontinental. We were frustrated to find that we couldn't get in, despite being told by the hotel desk to dine there, but of course that's not the restaurant's fault. Also, it should be noted that the actual restaurant wasn't open - they are operating it in what's supposed to be the bar, so they have a lot less space & the atmosphere isn't nearly as nice. The very kind host (& manager, I think), Randy, came to our rescue and managed to squeeze us in. We had 3 different food items. My husband had the Delmonico steak, which he said was one of the best steaks he's ever had. I had the "Colossal crab cake", which wasn't actually a crab cake, it was more like a fresh crab salad formed in a ring, served somewhere between cold & room temp. It was excellent quality crab and tasty, just not what I expected when ordering a "crab cake". We also had the Garlic Bread with Wisconsin Roth Kase Blue Cheese Fondue, which wasn't very good. The toast had way too much butter/oil on it, so much that your hands became massively greasy eating it and it literally dripped out when you bit into it, and the "fondue" (a little pot of cheese sauce that you had to pour on it) wasn't very flavorful. They should definitely replace that with something better. Our waitress was attentive & enjoyable - somewhat of a character.

Our family all met in Chicago for Christmas and during that time my wife and I had our 51st Anniversary. Our children decided to take us to this Steak House. It was a fantastic night. I thought a bit expensive but apparently top notch restaurants charge it. Food was fabulous and the staff was excellent. A good time was had by all.

Dear Michael, This spot is the Bomb! The garlic bread was so delicious that I want more! My brother loves basketball and might be like you some day and I Will come back someday .

I took dinner here and asked the waiter to recommend me steak and beer. The steak was good and delicious, although not special. The service was excellent. I also enjoy the atmosphere.

This restaurant is way over rated. The atmosphere is very poor, as much to do with young children as the sterile space. Why should very small children be in an expensive restaurant and why when diners are hoping for a pleasant, quiet evening. The service was good but the food mediocre and expensive and wine by the glass prices eye boggling! The restaurant benefits from the name on the door but the name is not embellished by the restaurant. Shame

I have been lucky enough to eat at some of the finest steakhouses in the world. I've also had the wagyu cut in a number of places. I mention this to make clear of the "context."Firstly, the service was attentive but felt a bit rushed. I ordered French onion soup, and the wagyu ribeye (the most expensive cut at I believe $130), creamed spinach and roasted asparagus. The total bill came to a bit less than $200 for just myself. The soup was very salty but I did finish it. The spinach was also very salty and after one bite, left it untouched. Asparagus was delicious and gently roasted without any bitterness. The major disappointment though was the steak. As soon as I cut into it, I realised how much gristle there was. That was a first for me, given this cut. For the first time, I cut off the gristle and left it on a pile on the side of the plate. I expected the wait staff to notice this by the way and mention it as well as the basically untouched spinach. Everyone else in the restaurant seemed so enthusiastic about the food that I suppose I felt uncomfortable bringing it the staff's attention but based on my previous experiences, I would not visit this steakhouse the next time I was in Chicago.

Incredible and unique gastronomic experience. A must-see for anyone visiting Chicago. Impeccable service with a variety of menu options. We ordered several food options, all of which were delicious. Among all the food options we tried, I have to highlight the trio of mashed potatoes. Don't forget to order them! There are 3 types of mashed potatoes with a different and unforgettable flavor each. I highly recommend them! The only negative point is that Michael Jordan wasn't there 🤪 I'm a huge fan of his, it's no wonder my dog is named Michael Jordan too 😂😂 But regardless of whether you're a fan or not, the restaurant is fantastic!

We went here because the Purple Pig (across the road) was full. OK, its very expensive, but the steaks are suberb. I have been to Mortons several times, and MJs had better tasting meat and much more modern sides. I would happily go again!

Service was great... I ordered the bone in ribeye and it came over done. Then when I got back to my hotel room the food got me extremely sick.

A fine selection of high end steaks, chops, and fish in an energetic (noisy) atmosphere. My husband opted for the filet topped with lobster, served with 3 large bacon-wrapped scallops and could not finish. It was a decadent meal! I had the pork chop and it was the first time I've ever ordered pork that was prepared to my liking (not under-cooked). It was my birthday and I should have specifically requested a booth, but the table against the windows was fine. As pricey as any other high-end steakhouse. We would definitely return because of the variety of dishes offered, along with many scrumptious salads and side dishes. Perfect to celebrate an occasion!

This place is overpriced. Staff at the front desk were rude, service was slow and our waiter got our order wrong. There is absolutely no MJ memorabilia to see, Zero. Food was just OK, definitely not worth the prices they charge. My wife’s stake was Texas Roadhouse quality at best. Place has a rainforest cafe vibe, dated and dark. Before you get there, They send you an email “suggesting” you dress appropriately, business casual is the recommended attire, however most people were wearing tennis shoes, shorts and T-shirts. There are hundreds of much better restaurants in this price range in Chicago. Not recommended at all.

Good bar restaurant in the lobby of the historic Intercontinental Hotel on Michigan Avenue, a comfortable, reasonably priced place to stay on the famous Magnificent Mile. Great service from efficient, attentive barmaids, excellent burgers.

Our meal was excellent! Got the special that night and our server, John, made the experience even better! He made suggestions that were perfect for us. We’ll be back and we’ll ask for John! The water people were great too. I drink a lot of water and I was never empty!

For us, the steaks are among the best we’ve ever enjoyed. We recently traveled to Chicago to celebrate our wedding anniversary and my daughter’s birthday. While browsing along Michigan Avenue to take-in the skyline view, local street acts and corner musicians, we fortuitously stumbled upon Michael Jordan’s Steakhouse. At that point we had not made any reservations to celebrate our milestone dates. My husband and I each thought what a symbiotic opportunity it would be to dine at “Michael Jordan’s Steakhouse in Chicago.” The hotel concierge made reservations for the following night for us. It was a perfect choice. The restaurant made us feel very special from the moment we arrived. They laid-out the “proverbial red carpet” for us. We were seated at a table next to Michael Jordan’s “reserved table number 23.” Glasses of champagne awaited us, along with greeting cards for my daughter, husband and me. The card for my daughter included a picture of the basketball great himself, which was special. John, our waiter, was amazing. Though assigned to other tables as well as ours, his omnipresence made it appear he was dedicated to us only. The steaks were perfectly prepared. For us, the entire meal was “cuisine extraordinaire” and the complementary dessert was an impeccable ending to a wonderful evening that created memories for a lifetime.

My son is big fan of MJ, so we went there. The atmosphere is very pleasant, lively. I felt a little crowded, but it was not disturbing. The stakes are delicious and in an acceptable price. We were a bit disappointed not to see more memorabilia from MJ.

Service was very good, steaks were ok, but also pricey, a bit disappointing was that the interior of the dining place was not really decorated with original basket ball stuff to honor Michael Jordfan's great career

Often crowded even at the bar, but I have usually had good luck in getting seated at the bar. Located in front of the Inter-Continental Hotel on Michigan Avenue, so definitely at upscale bar. Had a simple meal of Caesar salad and the MJ Steak sandwich. Nice portions and great service. I had their Old Fashions previously, but this time I browsed the wine selection and picked a nice Right Bank Bordeaux Blend. Very good value.

You might think that a celebrity owned restaurant is all about the name but consider the name: Michael Jordan! Some might think that he was the greatest BB player ever. Could a restaurant hold up to that type of hype? Well, in this case, a resounding YES. This was our third time here although it had been a while since the last visit. We wanted to see if it was still as good as we remembered. In fact it did. Chicago has at least 25 fine steakhouses and this is in the top 10 for sure. It is not so elegant but still classy. It obviously caters to tourists since it is located at the south end of the Mag(nificient) Mile, near the river. But locals still come here for the main reason they go to eat anywhere; great food and service. First, the food: expertly prepared; well presented; as described; cooked to order; delicious. Second, the service: smiles greet you at the host station; reservation honored on time; menu explained and questions answered; casual and not rushed; water glasses kept filled; after being served, follow up on how we liked the food was made in a TIMELY manner; silverware placed as necessary; crumbs removed. Basically, everything you would want in a high end steakhouse was achieved. The atmosphere was relaxed. The background music was in the background and the tables were well spaced allowing for a very conversation friendly environment. The patrons were diverse as was the clothing; no dress code here. Finally, and much to my joy, there are ZERO televisions in the dining room. (Go to the bar for that.) If you go and are lucky enough to have John as your server, you will not be disappointed (ask for John! What server talks you out of ordering two salads when splitting one does just fine with the line "Really the extra nine bucks on the tab is not important to me at all"?)

Staying in town for business our group of six sat down around 7pm in the bar top tables. Quick details on the issues. Waitress 1 only wanted to take drink orders and got flustered when we asked about menu items. Waitress 2 was not a happy camper from the start and wanted to debate what a medium steak w no blood was.We ordered and 45-50 minutes later our meals arrived. Steak was cooked well done and dry and no sides arrived. I was reluctant in complaining as it had already been an hour since ordering, but at these steak prices I spoke up.Manager quickly corrected the issue and brought me shrimp cocktails for my troubles. New steak arrived, but w wrong butter topping. It was cooked to perfection. Thoughts Will I return ? Maybe. Every one else in my party had great food. Atmosphere was pleasant. Time should be spent on better training of the staff. At this level of restaurant, service should be superb and a slam dunk every evening!

For the last 12 years I have been dining at this restaurant. The quality after COVID days have deteriorated significantly. Today (Nov 2023), I gave up!!! I will not go back anymore. The steak quality and cooking was terrible. The side dishes nothing special. And the restaurant had the audacity to include an 18% tip without my consent. What is wrong with you guys? I will always tip the service as I feel fit, usually quite generously. But you insult your customers by imposing your messed up policies. I had enough! MJ, I hope you read this message, my guess it is not just one customer opinion. This is damaging your image as well.

First time visit @ this restaurant, and we were treated very nicely... the servers are incredibly friendly and attentive to our inquiries and requests. The food was fantastic—great steak portions and plenty of side dishes to choose from. Definitely a MUST visit if you are ever in the Chicago area... Michael Jordan will definitely be proud of his restaurant... championship caliber :)

We went for a much needed date night and I chose this specifically since my husband enjoys a good steak. We had the crab cake, which was amazing! I ordered scallops and he the Delmonico...both amazing choices. The Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes are great sides to share! We will be back!

Outstanding food and service. Garlic bread is amazing. Great decor and of course MJ Goat has it classy thru out. Salmon and steak burger delicious.

Well, great name, famous NBA player and that is all. The interior, old, kitchy. The food is everything but good. The steaks, the things why we came were poorly done. Mine was almost well done and burned on one side eventhough I asked for the mediu rade. My friend’s was well done and burned and he asked for rare. Very disappointed for 445$, which is too much I do not recommend it there are much better places to go in Chicago

We decided it would be steak night for our last night in Chicago. Not usually a fan of dining in hotels, but read some good reviews. The food was amazing, bone in rib eye at its best. If you have a starter & a steak, go in hungry as the portions are big. Very attentive service from the lady serving us, always had a smile & enjoyed the fun we were having. Well worth a visit for sa fantastic steak.

Awesome place, awesome food, awesome service. Huge variety of itens to eat. Nice place to stay and diner. Love everything. One of the best steaks in USA. Really appreciate.

The steak was well cooked and sides nice, however the service in the restaurant was very bad. I asked the server Fransisco where the bathroom is, he pointed it out to me then aggressively asked me to pay my bill or leave my card as a guarantee before going to the bathroom! When I asked him why he said “just in case you run “! How rude. This is supposedly an elite establishment and customers should not be treated this way.

Very nice place, super delicious food, a little over pricey (but you pay what you get for) definitely a must, but don’t expect to see Michael Jordan! You have to try the garlic bread! It is an orgasm to the palate

Excellent steak. Good wine list. But the standout was the service. Knowledgeable, friendly and professional. The restaurant manager constantly circulated checking everything. Highly recommended.

We had drinks at Michael Jordan’s. The setting was good-there were tvs for sports, but we were also able to talk because it as not very loud. The drink menu was pretty extensive too.

I went to Magnificent Mile one in July 2018. I was alone after a meeting at Intercontinental Hotel so it was very convenient. The restaurant is dark and outdated but not bad. The ambiance is old nothing exciting. I was serviced promptly. I ordered 24 oz bone in rib eye. I swear it was not 24 oz. It looked less than 16 oz. Although I was not hungry, I finished it. I was disappointed after spending $56 on this meal. The steak was good, medium rare, just right. Fries were excellent. I did not have any alcoholic beverage.

I went into the bar for a drink as I was staying at the Marriott across the street and since it was NBA ALL Star weekend, and Michael Jordan's name is on the outside, I thought why not? Luckily, I grabbed the last seat available at the bar, naturally it was packed. The bar is on the lower level of the hotel and (was told later that) there is a more formal steakhouse (also Michael Jordan's) on the second level. But the action, it is at the bar! And they serve the same menu as upstairs. These bartenders were on fire! Moving fast as lightning from one guest to the next, yet we all felt special. Luis (and his mustache) was charming and attentive. Jenn (the red-head) was like a giant smiling octopus as she made drinks not only for the guests in front of her, but for the entire bar area. It truly was a show! I ordered a Cincoro Reposado (Michael Jordan's tequila!!!!!) and Jenn told me all about its aging and the process- while she made drinks! Even the bar assistant seemed to know all about Tequila. I ate the best crab cake I have ever had and a caesar salad. The man next to me got a burger that looked phenomenal. Later, I took a tour of the historic part of the hotel after Jenn told me the history. Never have I felt more welcome at a restaurant/bar while out of town. Both Jenn and Luis, and the bar assistant treated me like royalty. As a single diner, I can say this is the place to go. Thanks for making my night, to the whole Michael Jordan's Chicago team!!

Expected a fun restaurant with Jordan memorabilia, it was stuffy, empty, small menu, and overpriced.

or a bad dessert. I have eaten in this Resturant several times and I can say there is not anything on the menu that has disappointed me. The Peanut Butter Pie is exceptional and so is the garlic bread!

Visited on Thanksgiving. Excellent food. Very overpriced but well worth a visit every once and while and at least once in a lifetime. Always good for special occasion.

Nice ambiance for a group outing. Conveniently located on Michigan Avenue in the InterContinental Hotel. Service was great. The menu had an interesting selection of entrees. My salad was kind of oily and wilted, and overly peppered with onion strips. But the chicken on it was excellent.

Great Experience. Top quality food Burrata Cheese Bone In RibEye Roasted Mushrooms Garlic Cream Spinach Berries Cheese Cake

I took my wife here for her birthday dinner. Our server Sarah was phenomenal. Not only were we celebrating her birthday but we both are currently cancer survivors. The food was amazing as the staff were all so polite. Thank you to all of the amazing staff that made our final night here I Chicago memorable.

For sure Micheal Jordan’s steakhouse is one of the most well recognised restaurant in Chicago and the location inside is fabulous, very nice and well designed. About the dinner, I can say that is overestimated and the price are too much above the line: we tried the 99- $ steak and it was very good of course but you can find a wagyu steak for less than 120$ somewhere. To sum up, if you have the possibility have a stop in this restaurant maybe it’s one of the best in Chicago.

Only came in for a drink however our hostess savanna was amazing and so friendly which is why we left a little bit tipsy lol will be back

We went just because in Chicago gotta go to anything MJ… we sat at bar 2 separate occasions and drinks were decent nothing amazing but really good service was very good not amazing and we only had the appetizer of hot wings and they look amazing but taste ok… it is pricey so if you go it’s for the fact it is MJ Steakhouse not for amazing food and drinks but they are better than average with the amazing price tag. Definitely stop to have a drink at least once.

the food was excellent and the steak was very good, and pricey, but if you are used to paying this amount for a high end steak, it was worth it. Our server was great and very informative, the appetizers were excellent and the sides were also superb.

First time here and the staff was very nice and I received my food very fast . I’ll definitely be back again for that steak !

Staying at hotel, came down for an "easy" dinner. Food only okay and extremely overpriced. Service was not good. Added a service charge on for three of us after I complained about the service, which is unheard of. Did not give us a 10% discount for staying at the hotel as they should have. Waiter basically ignored us, perhaps because he knew he could just add a service charge onto our bill. Total rip-off, do not recommend.

Excellent steak cooked to perfection, but the highlight was the garlic bread!!! A must try when in Chicago

The filets were so good! I got the petite filet with king crab on top. It completely melted in my mouth. Also, the bacon Mac and cheese is an absolute MUST! We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. With tip, we dropped around $200 though, so he prepared to spend a little, but it’s totally worth it.

A bit disappointing. Food was ok. Service though was really the factor that dropped all ratings. They forgot our appetizer and just brought it out with the main dish. We had to proactively ask for drink refills. It took the host 15 min before welcoming us, and 20 min for the bill to be served after requesting it. Really disappointing. Bad service!

Great food and service and Ambiente. Would just like to encourage the head of the service to look into the mirror and get some advices on good fitting suits and color mixups. A grey suit and brown shoes are a no go!!!

We were residents at the hotel and decided to try lunch here. My wife is Celiac so cannot have Gluten without damaging her health. When we were seated she asked the waiter if there was any gluten free options for which the reply was a blunt "No”. She asked again if anyone could help advise her on menu items and again be replied "You know better than me. This is a steak restaurant”. We left in disgust at his attitude, absolutely unhelpful and unwilling to assist any further. Again when we left be shouted "This is a steak restaurant”. Appalling attitude from staff and on any future visits to Chicago I would certainly consider the hotel but I would never set foot in this place again. Shameful attitude towards customers who might have additional needs and/or allergies.

I visit here often and have not been disappointed with any dish. This past time we just got appetizers, 5 for the two of us. Yes, two of the bacon apps, yummy as always. I always get bacon and garlic bread. So good with cheese sauce poured over the top of the bread. Bacon is in a maple sauce, I like my bacon cooked a little more then average, and have to let them know. Calamari is good but not the best I ever have and the meatballs we’re excellent. Very tender and tasty. Most of the time I get the 10oz filet and man is this good every time. If you like pepper get the pepper seasoning on it, makes my mouth water just typing this. Also I have had the MJ burger and was excellent as well. The service is always good and bathrooms clean. Good job MJ’s.

5 stars does not do this restaurant justice it needs an extra star like one of those Michelin Stars. I took my wife to Chicago for our 21st anniversary prior to flying out to Thailand. I put in for reservations approximately 2 weeks out and got lucky after waiting on the waiting list for a week we got reservations. My wife’s cousin lives in Chicago so we met there for dinner. It’s a very cozy little restaurant with its own little vibe which was really cool. The server welcomed us to the restaurant and explained the menu and specials in detail. I went for Michael Jordan’s favorite dinner the Delmonico, my wife had the Wagyu special and her cousin the NY Strip, it would not have mattered as we all tried each other’s steak and each one was the best I have ever had . I do not like prime rib but the server explained it was delicious and since Michael Jordan loves it I tried it and they are doing something here at the restaurant which is amazing because it’s hands down the best cut of beef I have ever eaten even better than the Wagyu my wife had. During dinner Kristen the General Manager introduced herself and congratulated my wife and I on 21 years and since my wife has been in the Hotel customer service world for 20 years now we can always tell when someone is a.special kind of person and Kristen is amazing, Michael Jordan could not have found a better general manager than her and I think we became friends and we will be friends for a long time I’m sure of it, Kristen also introduced us to one of the Chef Mr. Morales and like I stated prior this place needs one of those Michelin Stars because they are doing something special here. Oh and to top it off the 23 layer cake for dessert, WOW!!!!

The food was fabulous! Start- Steak Tartare & Wagyo meatballs. Delmonico and Tomahawk for dinner, lava cake for dessert. All excellent. Staff was excellent. I know it is a bit pricey, but less than the chop house (and more options) and probably about the same as Gibsons. I would go again.

Best Salmon dish ever! Really enjoy my meal 100%. Service was nice. Bar was busy but good. Short wait for not having a reservation.

I ate on the sportsbar side. Not bad food and an okay beer selection. It is a hotel bar though. It is regularly packed so you might not always be able to get a seat.

The food was average. The steaks came out overcooked. They also had a bluecheese butter on top that was not called out in the ordering, that we did not like. All 6 of us scrapped it off the meat as best as we could as it made the steaks taste bad. Usually anything with bluecheese is called out. Overall impression of the food was it was average. The service was the best part of the restaurant. All the staff is happy and energetic. The GM checked in with us several times as they are very personable and were really fun to be around......Until one of our ladies purse was noticed gone. While we were eating in the upstairs dining hall, a man came up the stairs into the dining hall, loitered around , with a hat on which is against the dress code, then when a group of people walked by our table he snatched the purse from the side of the chair, exited out the back and down a stairwell to Michigan avenue and gone into the night. None of us at the table noticed anything. The security guys pulled all of this off of their security cameras. He was never approached by the hostess, waitress's , security or GM all walking around the same 1,000 sq ft we were in. They then didn't know what to do with us. They apologized but took no ownership over having a relaxed security. They said they have seen problems in the bar but never in the dining hall. Sounds like they know there is a purse snatching issue but are not doing anything to improve the security. We spent $1100 for dinner and the GM never batted an eye at comping anything to make it better. They had 2 waitress's upstairs in our section and they probably should have 4. NO one should have been allowed up the stairs past the hostess station who didn't have a reservation. I would not recommend this restaurant and would recommend you go to Ditkas steak house or STK Steak House. The quality of the food is better other places and this management team truly doesn't seem to care about customers safety.

They stole my bag inside the restaurant and they didn’t do anything. Word service and response. Didn’t feel safe wouldn’t return!!!

It was very cold and snowing in Chicago so we decided to stay in and there was a Michael Jordan’s steakhouse in our hotel. We are so glad we chose to eat here.Service was wonderful. Our waiter was Nick,he was very friendly and took care of us.Im not a fan of blue cheese but you have to try the garlic bread with blue cheese sauce for appetizer.Im a filet girl so I ordered the 10 oz.It was the best steak I have ever had.Our meal was so good that we decided to eat there the next night as well!!!When ever we are back in Chicago this will be our go to restaurant.

We were in Chicago for only two night - so had only two dinners while there. One was wonderful; this one was not. The service was lacking and the food was disappointing. I ordered the ribeye steak (at $57.00) and was unable to cut it with a steak knife. The waiter finally came to our table to see "how things were going" and when I told him my problem, he immediately offered to change my place for a filet. I accepted the exchange - even though I prefer ribeye. The last time he came to our table was when he served me the filet. Never asked if we wanted another drink - or if everything was OK. Definitely a disappointing experience at best. We expected more.

Arrived early, the service was great, age steak was one of the best in my life French fries were amazing, definitly I looking forward to come back

The steak was perfect! I am a big fan of this restaurant. It is in a great location on the magnificent mile next to the river. If you are a big fan of steak this is the place for you. Great ambiance and service. This is a must stop if visiting Chicago.

If you’re looking for a cozy yet upscale steakhouse experience in Chicago, Michael Jordan’s Steak House delivers on both atmosphere and quality. The place feels authentic and refined, with a warm, inviting interior that pays subtle tribute to the legend himself without going over the top. One standout detail is the signature cutlery and napkins, which add a touch of class and personality to the dining experience — a nice nod to the brand and attention to detail. When it comes to the food, the filet mignon and Delmonico steaks are absolute must-tries. Perfectly cooked, well-seasoned, and beautifully plated, these cuts show the kitchen’s strength and precision. They’re juicy, flavorful, and worthy of the steakhouse’s premium reputation. However, the steak frites were a bit of a letdown — the presentation is clean, but the dish feels too simple for the $50 price tag, lacking the depth and wow factor of the other steaks. That said, the service is excellent, and the presentation is on point, rounding out a memorable dining experience. Verdict: A great choice for steak lovers who appreciate a cozy atmosphere and top-tier service. Just skip the steak frites and stick with the classics — they don’t disappoint.

The cake was delicious! As it was 23 layers each was thin. Very rich. I’m normally not a whip cream person but I needed it to tame the rich chocolate. Got it to go. Attentive and helpful hostess.

We didn’t dine at the restaurant but visited the bar on a number of occasions as it is effectively the hotel bar. It had a great ambience and vibe every time we were here which was great, sometimes a hotel bar can be devoid of atmosphere and this one wasn’t. The bar staff were great - good service and even recognised us and served our usual drinks. What a great place and good to be connected to the hotel

We dined here for lunch, ahead of the dinner crowd. Food was great. I loved my salad. Not a fan of dry rub so the wings were just okay to me. Liked the blue cheese fondue. Very different. Waitress and hostess were very friendly. Would return.

It’s so appropriate that the GOAT has the greatest steak house of all time. Without fail, have the filet. Have the onion soup. Have the garlic bread with bleu cheese fondue.( My wife said have the oysters, too!) Outstanding service by Taylor Manny the manager frequently stopped by and checked on us. My water glass never emptied. As a special treat, we were seated at MJ’s special booth. Do not miss the opportunity to dine here. It’s fantastic.

Recently had a business dinner at Michael Jordans with approximately 15 ppl and absolutely loved it. Not inexpensive but very good. Service was outstanding and the food was what I would expect at a fine steakhouse. Garlic bread with blue cheese sauce was addictive. Filet was incredibly tender and flavorful. Really an outstanding dining experience.

Promise I am not that kind of tourist. Fell into the restaurant coming off of a meeting. Like the decor; dark and barry (like a Cheers bar). Our meals were solid to good. I enjoyed mine. Waitress gave me bad vibes from the beginning. Like I should be thankful that she was waiting on me. Go figure. But I think she caught herself, maybe a bad day, and was much more generous spirited later.

From the moment I walked into the building, I knew I would be in for a great time and great food. The hosts were very friendly and informative. The food was excellent. This isn't a place you will want to visit if you're trying to eat and drink on a budget. Its decorated beautifully.. The walls have wine showcases and it makes the restaurant feel much more elegant. I would return and recommend this restaurant.

We sat in the bar area, because we were worried that we were a bit too casual with jeans on. Menu is pretty much the same as the main restaurant. Tomahawk was pretty good, but not great. Truffle fries were really good, mushrooms were way too salty. My daughter is gluten free and found it difficult to eat here, with the menu not being clearly marked and staff not particularly knowledgeable. She ended up sticking with a salad to be safe.

My wife and I came to Chicago and visiting MJ's Steakhouse was on my to do list. We even were able to be at "table 23" which is renowned as the table the Great basketball player sits at when he is in town. To make a long story short my steak was a disappointment. Not cut very well and was not "medium well" as I asked for. And our broccoli side order was cold! Not sure how that happens. Servers were okay at best. Could have been so much more! Maybe next time.

Like MJ on the field thats how his restaurant is. Every dish a masterpiece arounded by photos of MJ best iconic moments...

Went to Michael Jordan’s for Father’s Day. Don’t go. It’s horrible. Our first and last time going there. First of all our server Taylor was excellent. Worked well under the circumstances. However it was downhill from there. No rolls or bread at the table. Told we would have to order the bread and literally wait for it to be baked. I’ve never been to a restaurant where bread is made to order, we had to wait. Server took our orders, then we had to wait 2 …two..hours for the food to come to the table. Steaks &sides bland, lobster salty garlic bread soggy. I can’t think of a worst food place. Left hungry.

Great steak house BUT the mac and cheese was the winner...if you like bacon and a smoked flavor! A friend ordered this as a side with his steak! I actually ordered the colossal crab cake from the appetizer menu and it was big enough as a meal and I didn’t order any sides. My husband has lots of food allergies (serious) every potato dish had something in it that could potentially be bad for him so they altered the fries so he could eat those. Overall great experience, and chef accommodated us with other choices for the allergies. Atmosphere was great as well...

We chose to have a late dinner here after a Chicago-native recommended it. Their advice didn’t disappoint! It was a higher-end atmosphere with many comfort-food options. I enjoyed the filet, and my significant other enjoyed wagu. We were both very happy with the tender cut and additional flavor. The shareable macaroni and cheese was also a great choice.

We popped in because of the name and had a pleasant surprise. We enjoyed MJs wagyu meatballs and MJs salad at the bar. Worth trying.

Wonderful evening - thank you Lindsay for a delightful evening which was made so by your recommendations - from the wine, to the food!

Location on Michigan Avenue is good. Food is tasty - I was last here in 2012 and food still tastes good! Good selection of food and drinks. Waiter was nice, always checking in. Price reasonable ($150 for drink, app, main course, dessert, tip). Only if it wasn't for the name, you wouldn't know it's MJs restaurant. No memorabilia. No statue. No videos of him on screens. Needed to feel the greatness and nostalgia, but I guess it retired with Mike. Would definitely recommend, and come again, but maybe in another 12 years.

We stayed at the InterContinental and arrived late so this was very convenient for us. Food was good, not great, but good. The mac and cheese was a huge hit. We're from NYC and are used to pricey meals, this one kid of blew us away. $450 for 4 people with no drinks!? It was a bit crazy, but all in all it was tasty.
