An excellent unique experience for an after-dinner drink. Wait staff was a lot of fun and engaged with customers. It was a fun adventure finding it in the Joule Hotel :)

Located downstairs in the beautiful Joule Hotel, this is a great, cozy, cool spot for a light meal and stellar cocktails. The mixologists are top notch and make amazing Manhattans as well as other classic and contemporary cocktails. It gets crowded on weekends, but everyone is just there to enjoy and chill, while listening to a great selection of music.

! Pricey drinks, great crowd, excellent layout w/outstanding art ;-) Best to go with friends & not alone,...

Went here to meet a friend for a drink for the first time. The atmosphere was really fun and the 1000W Thumper was great!

The bar staff was way to busy crawled up the craw of a "mater distiller" who couldn't have been more than 26 years old. Not only that but his whiskey tasted like wet gym socks! Sssssllllooooowwww service is an understatement! Drink menu was light in the loafers .... The bartender tending to me & my wife was a condescending know it all. He had a smart mouth, bad service attitude and simply came across as an arrogant little boy who judges customers by age and appearance. So if you plan on going to this significantly sub par bar better be a hipster metrosexual millionaire wanna be or you'll be treated rudely and disrespectfully! Would not go back for a free water!

This bar is a must-go for cocktail lovers - they have quite the menu and each drink that we tried was excellent (squid ink in mine - not kidding). Service was fantastic and we really liked the atmosphere.

Downstairs at The Joule, you’ll find this great spot for late night drinks. Great atmosphere, very cool decor, and a super friendly bar staff. Highly recommend stopping by. Midnight Rambler was recommended by several people so we dropped in after attending a concert and had a blast!

I cannot say enough about our fabulous experience at the Midnight Rambler. We booked part of the bar for a private event—an after-party for our daughter’s wedding that was held at a venue near the Joule hotel (where the wedding party was staying and the Midnight Rambler is located). We had a private party with drinks, awesome food (french fry cones, chicken biscuits as late-night snacks and a donut tower with pastries) and great music. Our guests loved it! The head bartender for our event, Joon, was phenomenal. He was efficient, personable, professional AND made terrific cocktails that our guests absolutely raved about. The manager working that night was also exceptional. He made himself available to my husband and I for questions, and escorted our daughter and son-in-law back to their honeymoon suite at the end of the evening. What a great way to cap off our daughter’s wedding. We’ve had so many compliments from our guests who all said they had an awesome time. Thank you so much Joon, Gabe Sanchez (GM), and to Joshua Chambo from the Joule Hotel for helping us set up the event. We will be back!

A relatively small venue with highly skilled bartenders. They have a good selection of craft drinks but they will make what you want.

For our 30th anniversary we wanted a little stay-cation in downtown Dallas and one of the most non-negotiable stops was at our favorite bar in Dallas - open again post COVID. It was the same warm and cozy place we remembered with the sorts of unusual and hand-crafted cocktails we love. The Edinburgh was a delicious and surprising concoction - especially from someone who is not a huge fan of scotch. Thanks to Liz, our service was tip top as always. Good burgers from CBD too.

Such a Fun bar in the Joule Hotel!! Great atmosphere , great cocktails , fun vibe!! It’s not very big so sometimes there’s a wait , but very fun bar !!

This bar has a real "speakeasy" feel to it that I enjoyed. It felt very low key and secretive, but hip as well. The drink that the bartender recommended for me was delicious. Their drink menu is very original and creative. My friend had a dirty martini that she didn't care for. The drinks are also pretty expensive. Overall, a good experience and I would visit again.

Like the 60's inspired ambience. Service was okay. Good location in downtown, located downstairs in basement level.

Located in the fabulous Joule Great music Amazing cocktails After 10pm they serve burger only which was very good

If I lived in Dallas, this would probably be my local hang out I think. It is a "speakeasy style" bar in a hotel The photo does not really do it justice. The lighting is what makes the atmosphere kinda special and the bar is really nice. However, taking a picture with a flash in a dark low key place was kinda uncouth I felt. The music was really good and the service was fantastic, Drinks were uniquely crafted (yes, that is the word although overused that describes them). Not a really huge menu and more of an after dinner type place, but the couple of plates that passed our table looked pretty good.

On this one night when it rained in Dallas we happen to visit this place. We were looking for some quality mixed drinks and this place did not disappoint. We were ask about our liquor preferences and presented with custom drinks based on our selection. You should check them out!

What an amazing place for cocktails!! Located inside the Joule Hotel, it was mentioned reservations were recommended although we went shortly after they opened and I noticed a few walk-ins at the bar. Still probably worth making a res online via Opentable. The host stand is directly when you walk in the hotel off to the left…underneath a neon “cocktails” sign. Super cool entrance and we walked down a few flights of steps to the entrance of the bar. The atmosphere was incredible and we were seated in a perfectly situated booth in the corner of the room. Our server, Kelsey, was amazing…she had a great personality and provided excellent service throughout our entire evening. They had a great cocktail menu and selection of other fine spirits. Being a lover of an Old Fashioned I ventured out a little and ordered the Caribbean Old Fashioned which is made with rum instead of whiskey. It was absolutely fantastic!! Most definitely one of my favorite spots in Dallas and we can’t wait to come back again!!

If you’re at the Joule or nearby, this is an excellent spot to grab a drink before supper. It’s dark, crowded, a little noisy...all just adds to the cool vibe. Don’t be in a rush. It takes time to create great cocktails ;)

My wife and I were celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary and got routed to the Midnight Rambler. From the start, Gabe Sanchez ( who is the man with the plan), Kelsey ( I don't know if that is the right spelling), and the rest of the staff are on point. I could see the bartenders behind the bar working their mixology magic and it was great to watch. When they opened we were able to have great cocktails and great food with Jazz music playing in the background, then when the DJ started the vibe changed and it was upbeat and fun. We will definitely be back and recommend anyone who wants a quick drink or stay and have a great night, THE MIDNIGHT RAMBLER is the place to be!!!!

My wife and I stopped in here just before 11PM and the place was packed with no room at the bar so we decided to leave. Insider tip...come in after 11PM when they open the back bar area. We returned with friends around midnight once the back bar area was opened and it was such a cool atmosphere. It is very reminiscent of a 60s lounge. You literally feel like you just walked on to the set of Madmen. You enter the bar from the hotel next to Joule and then work your way to the basement. There are two bars later in the night with lots of space with intimate booths and loungers, along with the lighting gives this place a great vibe. We all enjoyed a pour of Balcones Baby Blue since we were winding down the evening. The drink menu is unique but pricey as would be expected. Bartenders know all of the classics too. The six of us gathered at one of the tables and were able to talk easily among ourselves. Highly recommend this place for couples (some great small booths and areas to enjoy time for just the two of you) or even small groups but definitely suggest holding out past 11PM when the back lounge opens.

If you're looking for a place hang out and meet a few friends (or make some new ones) but aren't looking for the club scene, hit up Midnight Rambler.

I tried a handful of cocktails and they were all incredible. The bar staff was really nice and super knowledgeable - they explained everything I was drinking and provided additional insight. The current menu is really fun, the actual menu looks like an amusement park map and the drinks are inspired by Dallas music history.
Unexepectedly Cool
This bar is one of the new top bars in Dallas and it shows. You get the feeling you are being transported to another era as you make your way down the dimly lit hallway. It is upscale hipster in every sense of the word. Don't expect to drink a craft beer while you are there but instead cocktails that are very good. They do have food but we did not have any.
