Amazing BBQ and all the fixins and then some! Great selection of side orders, innovative dishes like the BBQ Frito Pie. Not your usual BBQ selections, though you can find those there as well. If you want a hometown BBQ joint feel and awesome BBQ go here.

Original, moist, tasty bbq. Please come north Mike!!! We love Mike's food and the friendly service. His food is original, unlike any BBQ place I've been too. Mike is great to look at too:)

Was pleasantly surprised when I walked in. Great atmosphere, great music, great food, great price. I will be stopping here again on my next trip!

The food here was great. Good portion sizes and great flavor. Will definitely be my go to place for BBQ.

The good news: this is now the best BBQ I have had in the DFW area. The bad news: They are only open for lunch. They are across Harry Hines from UT Southwestern, so worth a visit when visiting friends or family. Typical BBQ atmosphere, casual, relaxed, fun. It is soooo good with an excellent array of sides, making you say - I want that one and that one and that one. Oops - too many. Go and give it a try.

Excellent BBQ! We’ve never had a bad meal at Mike Anderson’s, or left hungry. I think we’ve tried all of their meats at one time or another and have been more than pleased. My wife is a big fan of the dill potato salad. Don’t miss the soft serve ice cream!

Have been many times because worked I the area large portion family nice owner forgot my wallet and Mr Anderson was nice and let me come back and pay later for my food always will remember that get there early because close early

Plenty of BBQ to choose! Brisket was moist and lean. Offers BBQ Frito pie and plenty of sidws to choose from. Friendly Texas staff

Mike Anderson's is a throw back to what BBQ should be....a wide variety of meats, veggies, potatoes, deserts, with awesome BBQ sauce.. Service is straight forward and portions are generous. The chopped brisket is moist, tender and yummy. Even the turkey is special. Most BBQ joints don't pay attention to turkey.... Great BBQ atmosphere

Well ... we had high hopes. This is Texas, after all. The brisket (fatty) was on the dry side. So much so that I had to douse my sandwich with tons of sauce to make it acceptable. I suppose I should have returned it and asked for something else, but ... I didn't. Try elsewhere.

this place is only open from 10am-2:30pm, so don't plan on dinner here. if that's what you want, gotta get in early and heat it up later. still, i ordered the "dinner plate" which was three meats and two sides or a house salad. maybe it's cause i got there right at 2:25pm, and maybe it's cause i had to heat it up before i ate it, but the ribs (beef and pork) were a bit dry. polish sausage was decent. i am not a big sauce guy, i just like the wood smoke flavor, so i had the sauce on the side and didn't dip in to it. pretty good smoky flavor in the meat. the house salad was generously big with tomatoes, bacon, cheese, and croutons. i rated mike's only for the food; had i put in for the atmosphere and the friendly people, it would have scored higher.

My colleague took us here while visiting Dallas. We had to stand outside as this is not a large place but it has a nice flair. It reminds me of high school lunch lines as you must get a tray and your utensils before you order. Make sure you speak clearly or you will receive something you did not order but you still will like it. I had the plate with 3 meats and sides. Good stuff!

Huge portions of BBQ brisket, on a sandwich or a plate. I really liked the sides too especially the beans and 'slaw. Don't plan on a productive afternoon back at the office.

Great value - dinner plate allows you to choose up to 3 meats and two sides for only $13 dollars. And - its cafeteria style and you dish out your own sides so you can choose your own portions. My brisket was jus a tad dry but my companions was not, so go figure. We also tried the ribs - very tender - and pulled pork - very moist. Good sauce too.

This is amazing food! Not a big fan of buffet style eating, but the food was well worth it! Only two choices of Barbeque sauce but two choices (house and jalapeño) was all that was necessary! Just, wow!

They will be catering my son's wedding in October so they took us to sample the food on our recent visit in May. Holy cow, this is genuine BBQ folks. The pulled pork was fantastic and the turkey was melt in your mouth delicious. Loved the bbq sauce and so many sides to choose from. Nothing fancy about this place and the neighborhood looks a bit rough. But you know a restaurant is great when they are only open 4 hours a day, 6 days a week. Looking forward to the October wedding and some more great BBQ!

Delicious plate lunch. Mikes is close be I35 and mockingbird in the hospital district of Dallas worth a stop

Been going to Mike Anderson’s for nearly 30 years. I am addicted to the monster potato, brisket and his bbq beans. I grew up in KC going to the American Royal BBQ so I mean what I say that Mike’s is the best. Saw someone complaining about workers not wearing masks, nobody cared when I was there. This is Texas BBQ, not California

This is a typical Texas, funky, barbecue joint. The barbecue is good, and the restaurant was very crowded, which indicates that locals like this barbecue. It is near Parkland hospital, there were a lot of hospital workers in here. My husband had the lunch special, which was a brisket sandwich with two sides, a drink for $10.00. The beans were some of the best he has ever had.

I was staying nearby and decided to try this place because the parking lot was full. That's always a good sign at a BBQ joint. I had the brisket and it was very good. It was moist and had a nice smoke flavor. I also have the baked corn dish and it was also very good. I cant wait to go back and heat here again.

We had read reviews about Mike Anderson's and made a point of going there when in Dallas this weekend. We were not disappointed. Great meats, lots of super sides . . . Try the "corn cheddar casserole"! Yum! The bourbon pecan pie is terrific. The meat plate comes with two sides, which you can dish up yourself, so my husband and I split that and added a side and pie. Huge amount of food. Our meals included soft serve ice cream, and I would go back just for that. It definitely wasn't ice milk, Had to be frozen custard since it was so rich. Don't miss this place, but keep in mind that it is only open until 2:30 each day.

The bad news is that they are not open for dinner. The good news is that the food is most pleasantly flavorful, reasonably priced, and served up cafeteria style so the service is as good as you make it. The atmosphere is typically Western, Texas style. And, to make it really, REALLY good, you can fix yourself a soft serve ice cream cone at no additional charge! We were very happy campers to be sure.

Just left this wonderful bbq joint and I must say it was too good to wait to write this review. We were passing by on our way to another establishment for lunch when we spotted the BBQ sign & a parking lot full of cars. It was around 1:00 so we knew most places would have a lunch crowd. Once we walked in we joined the long line of hungry anxious eaters standing-- waiting AND smelling that Texas BBQ aroma. The decor is rustic--western w/tables and booths. Not too shabby but I didnt come for decor--I came for some GOOD BBQ. We asked a few people in line if the food was good and each person replied YES! When asked what they suggest to get they all suggested the "MONSTER BAKED POTATO".... $10 (loaded w/everything) After reading the menu I noticed they also had a "SPUDZILLA BAKED POTATO" $12 which came w/your choice of meat (brisket, pulled pork, turkey breast, chicken or sausage) The menu was posted on the wall so it was easy to read. The first item advertised was their 3 meat--2 sides dinner plate $14 however when I noticed the serving size of meat I decided that was not for me. I was very hungry and I noticed they only put two individual pieces of sausage and two very small pieces of brisket and ribs on the 3 meat dinner plate. Pass! I opted for one brisket sandwich (on wheat bun) and one sliced turkey breast sandwich. I also got two sides--- green beans & garlic and cheese smashed tators. LORD!! My husband opted for the SPUDZILLA potatoe loaded w/brisket--- a side of cheesy corn bake w/poblano & onions. Our bill was $37.00 Let me begin by saying that turkey breast was sooooooooooooooo moist I think it had been cooking slow & low for 8 hrs. The brisket was tender & amazing. My husbands SPUDZILLA potato was equally delicious and he didn't even finish it. Which is unusual. All in all Mike Anderson BBQ was one of the best bbq places I've been to. The best being Meyers in Elgin Tx.

Stopped in today for lunch. Mike is working the counter & cutting meat. The brisket is moist & has good flavor. The ribs are the best ribs I've had in a long time... Maybe every. I could eat them all day long. Will definitely come back here

We stopped here in the middle of some freezing rain and it wasn't too crowded. The food came quickly and was just what we expected. Great BBQ and sides!! We were not disappointed and recommend stopping by if you are in the DFW area.

Being from Canada, authentic BBQ is hard to find. When we came to Dallas Google told us this was a great place, Google didnt lie. The portions were massive, the brisket was a beauthiful smoky flavour and the sides were great. When Mike asks you if you want to "go down the line" do it. The line is a bunch of side dishes you can choose from. The dill potato salad was incredible and i had to buy an extra side of the banana pudding. It cost about $15.00 for lunch but was well worth it. The service is great, you feel like family and from the looks of the customers, it attracts all types, from suits to overalls. GO TO MIKES, you wont be dissapointed.

In my opinion, this is the best BBQ Dallas has to offer! Great ribs, amazing sides, and my favorite BBQ sauce to date. Great for office catering as well.

I was in Dallas my wife and I went for lunch we had the brisket pulled pork ribs and sausage it was real good. They give you nice portions and they have a lot of different sides to choose from and I really enjoyed the habanero bbq sauce Would definitely come back when I’m in Dallas.

I grew up on KC BBQ and have been around the world looking for the next great BBQ. Well, this is up there on my list of must eats! Get 3 meats and you won't be disappointed. The pulled pork had flavor through and through, throw it on your huge baked potato and that's good stuff. But the star here are the ribs, the smoke is so well done. It's like biting into heaven each time. I flew home after and my wife could taste it in my beard! Haha! Seriously. Go here at least once in your life.

If you want to experience amazing BBQ you have to come here. Had the dinner plate and it was mouthwatering delicious. The restaurant is cafeteria style and there can be a short wait but it is well worth it. Only open 10:30 - 2:30 Mon-Sat.

Unfriendly staff and not much for a BBq place Group of three were greeted with the look "get your food and get the hell out " Meats were almost mixed up on cutting table and cutting was not clear nor clean Frys was cold and nothing looked fresh I will never go back

I had read many reviews speaking of how awesome this restaurant is and why it’s a must try when visiting Dallas For me, I felt like I had went back 30+ years when I entered the restaurant. I ordered the smoked ham and beef brisket. You then self serve 2 sides. I chose the mustard potato salad and corn casserole. I was then given a slice of Texas toast My findings were large portions with a deep smoked taste to the ham and brisket. The potato salad and corn casserole were both very tasty. The Texas toast was cold and tough. The BBQ sauce was heavy and sweet. This is a cafeteria style restaurant with self service For lunch and drink it was $21 including small tip

Was taken here by same Dallasites who had eaten here before. Ordered the BBQ dinner plate at $15, two sides included. Super brisket , ribs and pulled pork. Tangy sauce and delicious Texas beans. Texas toast completed the meal. Amazing food and a great host. Watch the opening hours. Lunchtime only.

Loved this place. Friendly laid-back owner serving the meat and takes pride in his business. Good food and service at a fair price. I also loved the atmosphere. It's pretty obvious by the atmosphere that Mike is a hard core right wing supporter that loves America. I felt even prouder to be an American after I left.

Start with a Texas Strawberry (Brisket and cream cheese stuffed jalapeno wrapped in bacon). That was enough, but I did go on to get a brisket plate.

It's a good place - based on the reviews I was expecting to be blown away. Prices are moderate, portions big and all sides I tried were tasty. However I found the meat to be a little dry and almost over flavored.

As we walked into the restaurant, the smell of smoked beef made our tummies growl from more hunger. The menu is appeasing for anyone's taste. The chopped chicken sandwich was spectacular. The chicken was cooked to perfection. There is a nice array of veggies and other condiments. The line moved quickly and there is plenty of seating as this restaurant stays busy from 11 - 2. Completing the fill of my tea, I bumped the spout which then dumped my full glass. As I was embarrassed that I had made a huge mess by the cash register, a sweet young lady immediately jumped into action to clean the area and told me to stop when I attempted to assist. The gentleman at the cashier said with a smile, it is a restaurant - spills happen! This made my humiliation ease somewhat. Then the young lady got me a new tray and moved me over to a table so that she could finish cleaning the floor. What a great place to eat with such wonderful customer service. Thank you for making a horrible moment turn into one somewhat less.

Great place, $20 for 3 meat and 2 sides!! Sides are fantastic and meats were great, recommend the brisket and cheddar taters

Mike Anderson's became my favorite Dallas BBQ place. It all started with the "Monster Baked Potato"--an aptly named giant baked potato loaded with your choice of meat (I recommend the chopped brisket) and all the fixings. This menu item is so large and filling that you may not have room for any sides or dessert. I get the Monster every time. My friends love the cheesy corn bake. A nice touch to this place is that Mike is there just about every day serving up the smoked goodness that I call BBQ. Don't forget to get a complimentary soft serve ice cream cone before you leave (self service). Note that the restaurant is only open for lunch Monday - Saturday. Great place to take friends or family visiting from out of town, or you can order take out. I usually go with co-workers during the week. Best to arrive before noon or after 12:30 so as to avoid the line that goes out the door.

Not as busy on Saturday, for lunch. Been in this location since 1982. Try spudzilla, if you're really hungry. Great portions, hand cut, hot and fresh.

Mike Anderson himself served me the most succulent, tender, and tasty Brisket I have ever eaten. A real Texas gem. It doesn't get any better than blues and BBQ on the steamy patio! No bells and whistles. Just real people serving real food - with the best sauce ever! The sides were awesome too!

Mike has been slinging BBQ for 38 years on Harry Hines Blvd - You can almost always find him chopping meat and slinging sides on the food line - be sure to say hi - Great dude. The condiments station is crazy good with multiple sauces, pickles, jalapeños and other great stuff to go with your BBQ. We loved the moist turkey and chopped beef - great sides as well. Stop-in to Mike Anderson’s and say hey to the boss. Great food!

I have to say this is three best BBQ I had while in Dallas. I wouldn't give this a 5, but certainly a 4-4.5. The restaurant is pretty cool, simple design, funny signs, but western feel. You order at the counter, pick your own seat and enjoy. There is a nice selection of meats and sides to choose from. I head the brisket, pulled pork and pork ribs. The brisket had a nice smokey aroma and flavor, was very tender and juicy. The pulled pork was the same. The pork rib had a slight char, was tender, and had slight saltiness to it. The naked potatoes were huge, the baked beans and sausage were very good, with a little tang and the grandma's peach cobbler was okay, not too sweet. If you're still hungry you can even grab some soft serve ice cream. It was a nice dining experience with really good BBQ.

For anyone who has yet to eat at Mike Anderson's BBQ, what are you waiting for? Mike makes some of the best BBQ in Texas! The brisket is the best I've ever had. I highly recommend the Brisket plate. The ribs are another ones of my favorites. Its really nice that you get your food quickly. I don't always have a lot of time during lunch, so I really like that about Mike Anderson's. I don't know what they put in their rub, but man o man, do they know how to cook up some BBQ!

My wife and I dined at Mike Anderson's after reading the reviews on the Dallas Tripadvisor Restaurant site. I've had brisket a number of times in Louisiana and at the DFW airport. I have eaten BBQ'd Brisket cooked/smoked by native Texans. When we walked into the restaurant, we were welcomed by Mike. He was slicing BBQ and I asked how the process worked. He explained that I will slice your meat selection and then you help yourself to the sides, drinks, sauces, and pickles at the end of the bar. After you eat, please have a soft serve ice cream cone. Wow, the brisket had a great smoke ring, it was moist, and very tender. My sides of baked beans and mustard potato salad were excellent. My wife had the same brisket but got green beans and a sour cream based potato salad. All excellent. The staff were great. They offered suggestions, showed us the pickle bar, and in general were pleased we were eating at Mike's. Mike asked how our meal was and I kiddingly signaled not good. I walked up the slicing station where several policemen were placing orders and laughed and told him how great it was. He smiled and said, I knew you had to be kidding me. I told him it was the best brisket I'd ever had and that we'd return on our next trip into Dallas. Excellent value, more food than you need, and great folks. It ain't a foo foo foodie establishment, Mike Anderson's BBQ is an honest to God local BBQ restaurant that prides itself in the quality of the food you eat. Atmosphere is great.

Great, laid back place to eat. Food was some of the best BBQ I ever had, and everyone that worked there was super friendly.

This place has the best BBQ in the Dallas area! A little pricey but the portions are huge! So if you split a meal very reasonable. You pay for what you get! Great menu! Excellent

Long line brings you to great tender brisket and different sausages to choose from along with plenty of sides. Hint - there is tasty jalapeño BBQ sauce on the condiments table after you pay - I prefer it over their regular sauce next to the meats. Peach cobbler it amazing if you can squeeze any more in after your main meal. The other good thing is they cater a great business lunch for reasonable prices to your location too.

We may have been the only tourists in this quick-paced, lunch-only spot. It didn't matter -- folks were friendly and it's easy to figure out. Consult the menu on the wall. Grab a tray and silverware. Order meat from the carver. Help yourself to sides. And, move down the line to the cashier. The brisket was tender and amazing with a good smokey flavor. Colleagues really enjoyed the pulled pork. There were so many mouthwatering sides to choose from, including mashed potatoes, fried okra, and a jalapeno corn casserole. All we tried were delicious. I recommend the peach cobbler, too! If you really want to indulge, top it off with free soft serve. Mmm mmm. I wish it were open for dinner, too.

Some months back I tried MA BBQ and was largely underwhelmed. Today's visit was different. I stayed with the sliced brisket plate and was pleasantly surprised. The brisket was tender, reasonably thick cut and filled with smokey flavor. The only thing missing was a nice layer of bark/smoke rings. I find that the cafeteria style presentation, especially for sides, provided by MA suits me better than other styles. The beans and potato salad were quite good. Much to my surprise there was no line today. I walked right up to the serving counter and ordered. This despite arriving at 11:45. I walked back inside to get water and still, no line. When I finished and left the building, still, no line. I have no idea why. This has certainly not been my experience in the past. Recommended.

Very good brisket and I loved the beef hot link sausage. Brisket was really moist but didn't have the kind of bark I prefer. Thus wouldn't stop me from returning. The pinto beans with jalapeño, rice and brisket was excellent as was the banana pudding for desert. Highly recommend if you're in the area to stop in for lunch. Don't think about going for dinner as they closed at 2:30.

Wonderful bbq with great sides served cafeteria style. Also, excellent desserts. Reasonably price. Lunch during the week is extremely busy.

Went for my first time for lunch the person who was working at the counter was rude and seemed like he didn't want to be there. He was like the Soup Nazi guy from Seinfeld. Got the 3 plate sampler, you cant just get 2. The Brisket was so chewy I couldn't eat it, the ribs were OK and I just gave up on the sausage.

I've heard so much about this place and tried it out today for the first time. I ordered the baked potatoe with brisket and ummm ummm it was very good! Great customer service and we were served promptly

While at a training session at 35/Market Center Blvd a couple of weeks ago, I decided to search TA to see if a good Q place might be located near by. Sure enough, I found Mike Anderson's and went there. The line was LONG so I figured it would be worth the wait. Wrong. I got my standard "starter" plate to check out places that are new to me, sliced brisket and sausage. The beef was without bark or smoke rings and tasted like really good roast beef but definitely NOT like good Q. The sausage was just OK. Lots of happy looking folks there so which leads me to believe they have a lot of repeat business. I'm happy for them but I won't be joining them again in the future. With the Pecan Lodge so close, I'll drive the extra few miles whenever I'm in downtown Dallas.

This is true Texas BBQ. Great beef! Very large portions. Their sides are also very good and different than you normally find in BBQ restaurants. The atmosphere is authentic and reminds me of some of the great BBQ places that you typically find in some small Texas towns (such as Lockhart, TX). This is the best BBQ I have had in North Texas.

The line is most definitely worth the wait. If you go during the peak hours of lunch time through the week (11a-1p) you will have about a 10-15 minute wait. The line moves pretty quickly though and the staff is very friendly. The bbq baked potato is monstrous and oh so delicious! I couldn't have had 2nds even it I wanted to. The cherry-pineapple cobbler is fresh and very tasty. The prices are great and the portions are huge. I plan on visiting again.

Went for lunch with a client. You queue for food, order at a window, serve your own sides, and pay at the end of the line. Decor is Texan, with raw wood, lots of cow horns and tin advertising signs. One of the cleanest barbecue joints I have been to, and also some of the best meat. Brisket was the best I have had, pulled port and pork ribs were excellent, and Mike's Jalapeno BBQ sauce is a revelation. Well worth a trip.

Just writing this review is making me hungry. It's such good BBQ. None better anywhere that we've found.

My friend and I shared a combo plate and then added a few extra sides- it was fun trying all the different things they had plus we had a variety of meat, pulled pork, brisket, smoked turkey but by far my favorite was the brisket! So tender and juicy and full of flavor! Their sides were wonderful too, pinto beans, baked beans, fried okra, corn bread stuffing, fresh cobbler- the list goes on. I saw several people with a HUGE baked potato that had pulled pork, cheese, butter, sour cream , etc on it- it was a meal itself and looked so good- I would have liked to have tried it as well but not enough time to sit there and wait to be able to eat more- lol

Our hosts got takeout from here for lunch Because we were in town for business and they wanted to get us the BBQ that the locals eat and it was delicious! The pulled pork was better than the brisket, but it was all amazing!

I've been eating at Anderson's for 20+ years, when Mike's dad was serving the meat. Now it's "lil Mike" on the line making his dad proud. Family owned, served with love. Meats are wonderful but it's all about the sauce, the sauce is the best I ever had! Anderson's has been catering for me for years, generous portions, great food and fair prices. Best in Dallas, don't miss it!

We have been to Mike Anderson's several times and each time we go back we are reminded why I think this is the best BBQ in Dallas. It all starts with good beef and Anderson's has good beef. He also has great sides and friendly people.

You are bound to hear about this place if you work in the close vicinity of the restaurant. For approximately $16.00, I ordered a dinner plate. The portion is huge and you probably won't finish the meal in one sitting. I had brisket, pork ribs and turkey for meat. For side item, I had garlic mashed potatoes and fried Okra. Food was delicious. If it works, 2 can order 1 meal, it'll be more than enough. The place is not super fancy in terms of decorations but the atmosphere is pretty cozy. Try it once and decide for yourself. :)

Come here early for lunch as this place closes at 2:30. My plate had turkey, brisket and beer brats. Very good selection of meats and sides. I loved the pinto beans, rice, jalapeño and brisket side. BBQ sauce was not my favorite but everything else was great!

When you order your meat of choice at Mike Anderson's, Mike personally chops it as he asks if you want a baked potato, or if you'd like to "go down the line" of sides. The brisket is the best I've had in Dallas, which is saying something. The sides are fabulous and flavorful. Make sure to try the jalapeno bbq sauce...it's got a great kick without being overwhelming, and tastes great on EVERYTHING. Their catering service is great as well. A MUST for any southerner (or Yankee brave enough to try)!

With an easy to pick (well not when it all looks so good) menu you will find your staples in the world of BBQ! With your choice of meats like Beef Brisket, pork, polish sausage, turkey, ham, pork ribs, chicken, Beef Hot Links (BEST IN TEXAS) how could you NOT like Mike Anderson’s BBQ House…Ya that is what I thought. A place that is only open 10:30 am to 2:30 pm Mon-Sat, so get there early to beat the lines, but if there is one, don’t worry, it is worth the wait….. ENJOY. You will feel like you’re part of something BIG! I really want to point out the beans (Chef, they are just beans, what’s the big deal)! Not only are they SUPER good, but they are loaded with Sausage. You even have Mike cutting meat for customers and flipping the ends of sausage in the beans while you are scooping them. Now THAT IS BEANS AND SAUSAGE! Thanks Mike – loved every bite!

My husband I ate here today and both of us were very pleased with the food! I had the Monster BBQ Baked Potato. Worth the $10, and I couldn't even come close to finishing it. He had the BBQ plate with 3 kinds of meat, okra and mashed potatoes. Service was very friendly. Don't let the atmosphere/area around the restaurant keep you from trying this place! Only open for lunch, at least during the week.

Went there on Tuesday evening. Place was closed. No answering machine, no message on the door. I can't even say if the place is still open. Good luck

We went on a Saturday at 1130 just before the lunch crowd. I was very impressed with the cleanliness and friendly atmosphere. The pulled pork was awesome, ribs were good, brisket was smokey and tender. Everything had the appropriate smoke ring. The sides were really good too. Nothing bad about this place. Very reasonable prices and large portions. I'm from the south and have grown up making ribs and pulled pork at every holiday so we could have an excuse to make it.

Recently had Mike Anderson's cater my son's graduation party. They did an awesome job. Despite never having been here before after reading the reviews I gave them a try. Mike is just the best to work with, and Andy our server was awesome as well. The food was the best bbq I have ever eaten and every guest said the same. Don't forget to try the cherry pineapple cobbler, it was amazing!!!!

Best brisket in Dallas is what they advertise and I would not disagree. It is consistently tender and juicy, and the smoke flavor is pronounced but not too strong. This place is one of my favorites in Dallas. I wish I lived closer so I could eat here every week!

This is a great place to go for a hearty bbq lunch. Big portions of bbq platter. We enjoyed the monster bake potato and frito pie! There was plenty of left over and to top it off FREE Ice Cream in a cone. Definitely recommend to everyone.

My wife was coming home from a business trip and I was picking her up at Love Field. She was hungry and didn't want to wait till she got home to pick up lunch so I looked at reviews on multiple sites, and decided to give Mike Anderson's a try. Not too much to look at, but they've got really, really good barbecue. Excellent brisket, great sausage, every side either one of us tried was very good. Not a huge place, and you could tell a lot of the customers were regulars. It's a bit of a drive from my house, but it isn't far from the museum district so I will definitely go there again. This is Texas, and there are one hell of a lot of good barbecue places in the Dallas area, but this is in my top two or three.

BBQ the way it's supposed to be. We loved it. Mike was front and center, cracking jokes and hacking beef. A solid BBQ joint.

Very good Mike Anderson cool guy. Makes sure it's always great!!!!!!! Love the Texas Strawberries!!!!! Joe Parsons

Looked for a good BBQ near our hotel and this came up. Mmmm - good. Had a delicious lunch of hickory smoked ribs and brisket with sides of beans and slaw. Were many other sides to choose from. Finished with a soft ice cream cone. So if BBQ is for you give this one a try. Anderson's is in a seedy looking building just off Harry Hines Blvd and inside it is an eclectic decor, but with plenty of seating plus additional outdoor tables in an enclosed area. The place seems to have a focus on catering and to-go orders and closes around 2:30pm so this is a lunch stop.

I was visiting Dallas for the first time last month and this was my first lunch while I was there. This was the only BBQ place that I was fortunate enough to eat at while there, so I can't compare it to others, but considering how good Mike's was, perhaps you don't need to go anywhere else. As to be expected with its popularity, there was line to the door at lunchtime, however, it didn't take very long to get my food. I had the BBQ dinner plate with Brisket, Pulled Pork, & Beef Ribs and sides of Fried Okra and Old School BBQ Baked Beans and Sausage, Texas Toast, a sweet tea and free ice cream for dessert. The food was great, the people were friendly, and there was plenty of seating available. I'll definitely be returning to Mike's during my next trip to Dallas.

Overall, it wasn't bad. I expected more based on the reviews posted.

I have had all levels of BBQ, and Mike Anderson's was up with the top tier places. The brisket was tender and juicy, and the ribs fell off the bone awesome. Lots of sides to choose from also. I had the beans and potato salad and they were really good. My 2 buddies also really enjoyed their BBQ also.

WOW...we arrived at 11:15 am and there was already a line of about 15 people OUTSIDE the restaurant. Maybe 20 more inside? But is was worth the wait (about 25 minutes) My wife got the MONSTER Potato with chopped beef on top. I got the BBQ Brisket (sliced) Plate with BBQ beans and fried Okra. The place was pretty packed he entire time we were there. and the line finally slowed down about 1 pm. But the staff there kept the line moving serving everyone quickly and there were also a number of called in orders. Some came and went and some picked up their order skipping the line and then sitting down to eat (the way to go next time!) My sliced brisket was juicy and tender. great flavor. and the sides were great too! My wife lover her potato. Will definitely return!

Excellent, satisfying meal! Lots of choices, including sandwiches and potatoes topped with your choice of barbecue, and many sides. Sausage is just spicy enough, and tender.

The bacon wrapped BBQ quail is a life changer! If you've never tried Mike Anderson's BBQ, you're missing out! Tucked away behind Parkland Hospital on Harry Hines, Mike will immediately make you feel at home.

Pulled chicken sandwich was great! My sides: dill potato salad and black eyed pea salad (?) also very good. Brisket frito pie was awesome and generous! Lean and Delicious meats, loved the bbq sauce. You’ll have to try this Texas BBQ. Such nice people, too.

This is the best, real TX, BBQ that Dallas has to offer. Unpretentious cafeteria-style serving line, tacky decor, and delicious meat & sides; exactly like you'd want in a BBQ joint! Ribs, brisket, turkey, sausage, ham...it's all good. Be sure and try to the bleu cheese & brisket stuffed bacon wrapped jalapenos (Texas strawberries). Also try to cheesy corn bake and the jalapeno BBQ sauce.

Mike Anderson's is as solid of a Texas BBQ joint as you are going to find. This is where I bring out of town guests for BBQ. Everything about it is great, from the meats (my favorites being brisket and ribs, the smokiness and tenderness is awesome), to the sides (cheesy corn bake obviously, but don't forget the fried taters, baked beans, fried okra...well all of the sides are also awesome), and the people are always friendly. Mike himself is usually serving up the 'cue, and it's always fun talking BBQ with him (he will give you some good recommendations for anywhere in Texas if you ask). I got married recently and we had Mike Anderson's cater our wedding, and they did a phenomenal job. We wanted to make sure out of town people got some good Texas BBQ, and Mike Anderson's hit the spot. Everybody loved it! If you want a solid BBQ meal for a reasonable price (heck, my wife and I can split a dinner plate there is so much food!), Mike Anderson's does not disappoint. Also, BYOB!

In Dallas for doctor's appointment across Harry Hines at UT Southwestern and looking for a lunch place. Stopped at Mike Anderson's and was not disappointed. Cafeteria-like line where you order and serve yourself the sides. Pulled pork sandwich was more than I could finish. Fried okra was great. Jalapeno beans were a hit also. Really good barbeque!

Only open Mon-Sat from 10:00 to 2:30!! This is our favorite BBQ place in all of Dallas. We live about 25 miles north of here, but eat here every time we have to go to Children's Medical Center for check ups. It is in the Southwest/Parkland medical district area, which is why it's only open during the lunch hours. The meat is always tender and juicy. Their sauce is tangy and sweet and the hot BBQ sauce is just right if you like heat. An extensive assortment of hot and cold sides including delicious fried okra or black eye pea salad (TX caviar). You can't go wrong with a monster baked potato with chopped brisket or ribs. Generous portions.

I have not received any bad food in this place, it can be expensive but the food is AWESOME!!!!! the only thing bad is that they dont stay open long enough...im sure we would eat a lot of suppers there if it was open. Kind of sucks that we can only go on Saturday for lunch and miss that alot because of plans to be elsewhere in the city. EXTEND your hours!!!!

The BBQ here is wonderful and the side dishes are very good as well. The meat is tender with good bark. No need for a knife. It's a bit more expensive than some other BBQ places, but not much more and the servings here are large. I believe there's a machine for free soft-serve ice cream also, but I've never had any as I'm always very full from my meal! Warning - the lines can be very long at lunch so if possible, get there before 11:30 or after 1:30.

Used a Groupon to visit this BBQ place for the first time. Best deal is Family Pack. We got 2 lbs of meat (pulled pork and brisket--both very good) and 4 sides (baked beans (yummy), garlic smashed taters, green beans (old-fashioned with potatoes and cooked for a long time), and corn casserole (good and different)). It fed 3 adults (not big eaters) and 2 children with leftovers for another time. My only complaint/surprise was no extra BBQ sauce was included. Pieces of Texas Toast were included. Call ahead to order (menu is online) and you won't have to wait in line :) Location appears to be convenient to hospital area. Pretty far from my daughter's home so we probably won't return.

We were looking for places in the vicinity of the George W. Bush Presidential Library on the SMU campus and thanks to Trip Advisor we found this BBQ joint a short distance away. It doesn't look like much, which is a good sign for a BBQ place. Right away, we loved the sign that said "Don't leave the door open. Mike gets mad when you let flies in." We arrived a bit before the lunch crowd but soon saw why the sign was needed. Patrons line up at the counter where you order, your meat is prepared and you're own your way to help yourself to sides. I had pulled pork and my wife had pulled chicken. Both were great. Having noticed folks in front of me getting baked potatoes. I ordered one of those and this was the Golaith of potatoes. Not only was it huge, it was delicious. The ordering process takes a few minutes to figure out for a newcomer, but we managed. It seemed like there were a lot of regulars in here and they were extremely busy. We even got to see a waitress tell a customer to not hold the door open. Great meal all the way around. I wish we could go back because there was lots of items I would have loved to try. We both ate for $25 and left full and happy.

Like the title says, Mike Anderson's BBQ is one of my favorite BBQ restaurants in the whole world; I try to make a hole in my schedule every time I'm in Dallas just to go eat there. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to go in almost a year. The staff is very friendly, nice and respectful; hell, Mike himself was usually there chopping up meat! Everything in the menu is so good, really tasty and savory; having said that, their brisket is my favorite brisket ever!

Took my sister amd her family to Mike's after hearing so much about it. Great food and efficient, friendly staff. Give a shout out to Burt who works the register and cuts the meat for you. He is great and so is the rest of the crew. I work at a local hotel and will be sending business in their direction at lunchtime. Great job to Mike, Burt and the rest of the team!!

My wife and I were in Dallas during the Valentine's weekend. On our agenda was to eat at a couple of Texas BBQ joints. Mike Anderson's BBQ did not disappoint. My wife had the pulled pork. I had a combo plate with Brisket, Pork Ribs, and Hot links for the meats. The sides were the baked beans and some sort of casserole that had corn, poblano peppers, and some time of breading. The meal was awesome. This restaurant serves cafeteria style. You go through a line, they serve the meat, and you serve your own sides. I highly recommend if you are in town and want to eat some good Texas BBQ.

We went for the rehearsal dinner for a wedding. They had rented it out for the evening. The staff was very friendly, the food was delicious. The only problem was I got full to fast and couldn't finish.

My family and I were in the mood for some barbeque and happened across this place. It's a bit of a hole in the wall as it's situated in a somewhat hard to reach area in what appears to be the Dallas medical district. BOY! When we arrived, the line was long, which made us more anxious to try the food. Ordering is a lot like school cafeteria rules: wait in line, choose your food, pay at the end, then seat yourself. I ordered the brisket and sausage. It was delicious! I also chose the garlic cheddar mashed potatoes and baked beans. Both were great as well. My mom and grandma both chose the ribs and admitted they were the best ribs they've ever had. I would recommend this place if you want good barbeque for a good price. Also, the staff made the trip extremely pleasant as they were friendly and helpful. If the long line was a judge of anything from the locals, this is a place that has been around for a while, and will continue to be a great place to enjoy some great bbq!:)

Went there with my friend while visiting Dallas, the food, ambiance, atmosphere are really cool! We ordered the turkey breast and the beef brisket and they were some of the best I have had in a while!

Do yourself a favor if you are anywhere around dallas and want BBQ. Go to Mike Anderson's! I went with my wife, 7 month old and it was great. I had the dinner plate that comes with a mound of pulled pork, 3 spare ribs, and 3 slices of briquette. It was plenty of food. All i can say was it was some of the best bbq I've had. I would easily slot it there with The Bar-b-q Shop in Memphis. The sides I got were baked beans and a cherry/ pineapple cobbler. You must get the cobbler. It is cafeteria style so I kind of felt like I was in line for the soup nazi Texas style but everyone was very friendly. The sweet tea was perfectly sweetened for a bbq lunch. This is a must visit restaraunt for bbqers.

Had the chopped beef sandwich and okra. Mighty fine! Prices reasonable and customer service great. Would definitely return if in the area.

Mike Anderson produces a wonderful variety of BBQ options - I am especially fond of his sausages and brisket along with both traditional and spicy sauce. Mike's corn side dish is unbelievable and addictive. My son also really like the bacon-wrapped quail. Near Love Field - Mike Anderson is the real deal!

If you want excellent favor and quality Texas BBQ while in Dallas, go to Mike Anderson, it rivals the BBQ you can find in Austin and Lockhart BBQ places. Brisket is excellent and great service.

Best BBQ I ever had, meat is amazing!! Huge portions!! We had monster potato with beef brisket, simply incredible!! Highly recommended

Great meat, great side dishes. If you're in Dallas, looking for some BBQ and you don't want to spend a lot of money go to Mike's. The Polish sausage and ribs are one of the best I've tried in my trips to the US.

Visiting Dallas, I searched online for BBQ restaurant and was fortunate to select this one. Skipped breakfast and went at 10:00 AM opening time as other reviews mentioned waiting. Great choice as I beat the crowd and visited with the fun staff. Treated me like they appreciated my business. I had a sampler with briskit, ribs and pulled pork. All were good as were the sides and prices. Lunch only, but if you want a super combination of service, quality and price, Mike Anderson's is your place.

The beef rib is good, but not huge like I'm typically used to. My hot link was the best part of my meal. The brisket was unfortunately dry. Very good sides and byob (fortunately you can jog over to the gas station and pick up a cold brew to go with your bbq).

It’s not fancy, boy is the BBQ good! The monster baked potato with turkey is my favorite, but everything is GREAT! The chopped and sliced brisket is great (very lean)! My friends love the sausage. They’ve got lots of choices for sides. The cobbler is great! AND free ice cream! This place hits a home run! Great place to take out of towners!

Pretty decent BBQ place, only open lunch hours, I believe it was 10-2:30. Very crowded but pretty delicious and they keep the line moving. Served buffet style where you get to choose your sides. The cheddar smashed taters were pretty good. The stuffed baked potatoes are really good as well. The only thing that stopped a 5 star was that I didn't particularly care for their smoked turkey, might've been better pulled instead of sliced.

Went here for lunch with my husband and when we got there we were so excited because from the outside the place smelled like heaven! We walked in to order from the little counter and this place was dirty and looked like it's only been cleaned every once a month. We didn't really care much because it smelled so wonderful. So we overlooked and decided to share a plate. The brisket was dry but had good flavor, the chicken was ok nothing special, and the sausage was greasy and just not what we were hoping for. The sides were not any better. Really a huge let down! Don't waste your money.

I used to work near Anderson's, and always enjoyed their BBQ. Since moving, it's been a few years since I ate there. Being in the area this week, I stopped in for lunch. The beef hot links were SOOOOO delicious, that I decided to get a family pack to take home for dinner. Our family enjoyed succulent beef brisket, delicious pulled pork and extremely moist turkey breast. Keep up the good work Mike Anderson!

Everything is great -- try Mike's special each day or if you are feeling starved go for the cornbread pie (with your choice of meat). I've been working my way through the menu and have enjoyed every visit. I'm not a cobbler person, but my friends and co-workers rave about it. Get their early or be ready to stand in line. They also do catering. Mike works the line and during busy times has no tolerance for indecision (think Soup Nazi). Love the place! Love the food!

I am glad we were not in a hurry, because it's a bit slow. The food was outstanding! Possibly some of the best BBQ I have had in a long time. The sides and options were inventive and looked delicious. The servings were big enough to fill me up with food left over. It's a bit expensive but good food is worth it. The only problem I had was the slow moving line to get your food.

I've had some of the other "top" BBQ in Dallas and I keep coming back to Mike Anderson's BBQ. I can't say I have a favorite thing here because "it's all good!". I do tend to go for the "Mike's frito pie". It's piled high and is full of whatever meat you want, but the smoked brisket and a 1/4 lb of hot links on the side is awesome. Mike is a great guy and the line is always out the door by 11:30 so get there at 11 if you want to get inside quick.

Mike has amazing food, and luckily for us, they can ship cross country. We had a special birthday and they shipped brisket, pulled pork, sausages, and cheesy corn bake that were amazing!! We love Mike Anderson's!!

My favorite BBQ restaurant in Dallas. Friendly service, free ice cream, excellent pulled pork, and dive atmosphere.

Great food at a good price. Chicken, pork, beef available in a sandwich or on a plate. A laidback homestyle restaurant.

This is the best barbecue place in a city full of them! From 11:00 AM til 2:00 PM Monday - Saturday the line is long but it goes fast. And when it's your turn to order, Mike will ask, "Wanna go down the line, Hon?" Just say yes! The like at the counter is magical with bacon-wrapped quail smoked with bbq sauce, smoked sausage, turkey, ribs, etc., and sides such as cheesy corn bake (wonderful casserole of corn bread, cheese, corn, and jalapenos), fried okra (best in town), and desserts such as pineapple cherry cobbler (to die for), pecan pie, and much much more! Everything's delicious, and the price is right!!!

Want cafeteria style BBQ that is made with good quality meat and cooked right? Don't waste your time looking around too long before you try Mike Anderson's on Harry Hines in Dallas, TX. It will give you a baseline to compare against. There are several things to consider. First of all, it is fast. Even a long lunch line moves along at a clip that will get you back to work in time. Cafeteria style means no sitting and waiting on a busy server. The line moves right along. Second, there are plenty of good meats to choose from; beef and pork ribs, pulled pork, sausages, chicken. They are well selected for their tenderness and overall quality. Nothing here is gristly, or tough and tasteless, no attempts are made to have you cover up bad meat with a BBQ sauce made to burn out your taste buds. You can enjoy eating the meats with nothing but a little salt and bread if you like, and you can cut the brisket with a fork. Third, a great collection of sides. Some interesting and novel bean creations along with a host of others. BBQ sauces to fit the palate. You can even get a spud (baked potato to those of you who don't yet understand trail talk) that is almost a meal in itself. Fourth, the price is right! For this quality and quantity many of the BBQ houses we have been in would charge significantly more. Although the ambiance is cowpoke friendly, it is pretty much no frills. You are paying for the food. Last, but not least, it is a happy place. You are greeted like family, treated like a friend, and made to feel welcome by both the staff and customers alike. The smiles are contagious, and ought to perk you up even on the worst of days.

This is a nice little restaurant near the medical district in Dallas. Only open for lunch(they close at 2:00). You walk in and get in what looks like a buffet line. Order what you want. They slice it and place on your plate. You can get your 2 sides or from the line or they give you a baked potato. Really simple. The Brisket was very good. I had not been back in Dallas for 20 years, so I was really craving good brisket, and they came through. My wife had a brisket sandwich and my daughter a pulled pork sandwich. I had the plate for $14.99-up to 3 choices of meat and 2 sides.

Owner says, " Why should I have to wear a mask in my own business." The business is across from the Medical District. Owner could wear a mask to protect his customers that have all kinds of health issues and the medical personnel who are trying to get us all through this pandemic. What a guy.

Mike serves delicious meat at reasonable prices. SPUDZILLA, for example, it's an amazing menu you must try. Kindly and warm reception. One of the best BBQ sites in Dallas.

Purdy Good Ribs. Close to Parkland Hospital. Good Choice of Sides.

Outstanding brisket, which is what Texas BBQ is all about. Sides were good, but this place is all about the meat. Some of our party had the pulled pork, and it was good, but the brisket was exceptional.

Got the three meat plate with brisket, ribs and Polish sausage. The ribs were fantastic and almost fat free. The brisket was fat free and delicious and the Polish sausage was right up there with the best I have had. For sides I got the cheezy corn bake with poblano and onion, and the double breaded and seasoned okra and they were awesome. My wife chose all ribs for her meats and opted for the garden salad instead of the sides. The salad was so big she took it home for later. The portions of the meats was plentiful and you serve your own sides so they are a large as you want, and at the end you get a free ice cream cone. All this only costs $14.00. The only bad thing with this restaurant is that they are only open Mon-Sat from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm. We got there at 12:30 and there was a fair line, but it moves quickly so don't let that scare you off.

Pulling up to this restaurant I wasn't expecting much but this BBQ did not disappoint. Some of the best I've ever had. I would for sure go back!!

Been going to Mike Andersons for years and you can try all the other bbq joints in Dallas and all of Texas and it ain't gonna get any better than this .You don't sell bbq for 40 years selling ok food. This is the Real Deal!

I was starving when I went to this place (skipped breakfast). I will say there are a lot of good BBQ joints in DFW. Mike Anderson has very good brisket and Ribs and is generous with them (will give you charred crunch end bits if you ask nicely). What in my book sets Mike Anderson apart are the excellent sides, easily the best sides at any BBQ joint I have had. The mashed potatos are full of spices and cheese. Corn bread bake is like jalapeno corn bread had hot luv with sourcream and cheese. Green beans are so good even picky kids will eat them. Garlic slaw is the only slaw I have ever liked. The cherry pineapple cobbler is very good, and you can sub it as one of your sides.

I know trying to pick barbecue places to eat can be overwhelming but we were on a time restraint to catch a flight and needed one that opened early. We called around and they said they were open already and it was just 10:30 so that was great!. We ordered a pulled pork sandwich and a 3 meats plate. The pulled pork, brisket and sausage were all great and not overly smoked (like some places tend to have). The sides of green beans & ham, corn w/ jalapenos, fried okra were all very good and unique. The carrot cake we ordered for dessert was the best I have ever had and I have had many. We were very pleased with this barbecue restaurant and will be back when in the area again.

Went on a Saturday at 11 am. Do not expect a smiling, exuberant owner. He is very matter of fact. The brisket was average. Like you might get at Dickie's or Spring Creek. The sausage and ribs were great though. The garlic and cheddar mashed potatoes were pretty bland. The barbecue beans with sausage was sweet & very good. The setting feels like a diner.

What else is there to say? Huge baked potatoes, stuffed with awesome bbq? I just wish they were open in the evening so I could partake after work.

This is by far the best BBQ I've ever had. I've tried bigger BBQ names in Dallas, but they were subpar compared to Mike Anderson's. Trust me this is the best one out there, go try it!. It's only open for lunch from Monday to Saturday. At lunch time the line goes all the way to the Parking lot, but it moves fast. Mike Anderson is the one who will cut the meat for you. He and the rest of the staff are very friendly. The Beef brisket is out of this world, but also try the hot links, the pork, the turkey.... I mean everything. The BBQ sauce is made there and its sooooo good that I had to buy a bottle of it. The monster BBQ potato is delicious (and huge). There is a free ice cream machine for the sweets after an amazing lunch! Prices are great! average is around $10 per person. If you go down the line there is BBQ beans, pinto beans, Fries, fried okra, garlic cheese mashed potatoes, grain salad, devil eggs, etc.... You can get a plate or sandwich or even a burrito. Also try the stuffed jalapeños. This place it's just great.

Real deal old school outstanding food. The brisket and sausages are my particular favorites along with old school barbecue beans with sausage ends and the corn side dish are excellent. And don’t forget the family recipe peach cobbler.

We were staying in Dallas for my son's basketball tournament. He likes barbeque a lot, but is somewhat particular. He found this place from a review site. When we arrived in the parking lot there was a line out the door. This was a good sign. Since this was our first visit, we did not know what to expect. The food was very good. It ranks at the top of our bbq food experiences. There was a wide selection. We did not realize it was cafeteria style which was good since you could see the food. I had the bbq pork sandwich plate. What a huge portion and very delicious. My son, the picky bbq eater, had a plate with sausage, brisket and ribs. He enjoyed it a lot! My wife had the turkey. It was very good also. No disappointment with the sides either. The mashed potatoes were very good! While we enjoyed the food, the line was a little slow. Regardless, it was worth the wait.

Huge portions of very good food are served here. I wanted unreal brisket, as this was my first Texas BBQ experience. Two slices of my brisket were incredible, but the other two were dry. The pulled pork was actually terrific. I also had sausage, but it just sort of blended in with everything else after all of the meat I had eaten. The sides here were incredible and bland, in that the cheesy potatoes were not that impressive, but the cheesy cornbread casserole was one of the best things I had ever eaten. I'd go back again and again, trying different things each time. Free ice cream following the meal was a great touch.

We were taken to Mikes by a business acquaintance, and what a great place! The food choices cover everything you could want for barbecue, the problem is deciding which to chose. The portions are very generous, and the taste of everything is great. There were 5 of us newcomers, and everyone wanted to return the next day for lunch again. I would definitely go there again when I am in Dallas.

Was in Dallas for a day and was looking for authentic Texas BBQ. Go for the chopped brisket. Moist, tender and tasty. Wasn't a big fan of the mustard based potato salad. Could've used some spicy kick (maybe some paprika) to complement the mustard.

We came just based off previous reviews. Was not very busy upon our arrival but was steady with people coming and going. Choice of meat was good but not cheap. We had a sandwich with 2 sides and a 3 meat place with 2 sides we got 1 extra side and 1 desert. $35. Offly steep for lunch. Noticed the baked potatoes were the big seller. Stuffed full of meat. Sides were beans and were soupy decent taste, fries we're soggy. Overall the meat was good but sides were just ok. Another good BBQ spot in Texas but it's a hard market to stand out in.

I was in Dallas and what else to eat but some BBQ ribs. This place came referred to me by a friend, and because of this place, I owe him one. Their ribs are terrific, I'm not sure if its their sauce, or how they cook the meat, but If you are looking for a great lunch, look no further.

Stopped in for lunch. This was very good BBQ had the special which was chopped brisket with jalapeños and onions. BBQ beans were awesome and loved the deviled eggs!

The three of us were on an overnight business trip and between appointments we had a hankering for Texas BBQ. We found Mike's and boy were we glad we did. I had the chopped chicken sandwich plate with two sides (garlic cole slaw & baked beans with sausage). Mike was in charge of the chopping block and he was great! He asked if I wanted the skin on or off - so I asked for it naked! Mike was also very polite and thankful for the business. Best part, you get to serve yourself your own sides so you don't have to make a commitment sight unseen! And, for a sauce lover like me, you can serve your own sauce. You have to try the jalapeño barbecue sauce not too sweet or spicy and for extra yum mix it with Mike's original sauce! Go for it! Mike's is awesome!

Mike Anderson's closes at 2:30, and I made it just in the nick of time with only seven minutes to spare. All of their BBQ Dinner Plates come with up to three meats and two sides. For my first two, I picked brisket and pork ribs. I also wanted to sample their beer bratwurst, which they had unfortunately run out of by this point. The helpful server behind the counter recommended their jalapeno cheddar sausage instead. For side #1, I decided on jalapeno pinto beans with rice and brisket. You can also get dessert as one of your sides, so I eagerly asked for Granny's peach cobbler. They were out of cobbler too, but I was ok with substituting Dee's banana pudding. The beans had a ton of flavor and plenty of heat to boot, courtesy of the big slices of pickled jalapeno. I found a decent amount of Cajun seasonings, which added to the heat level. The rice didn't add much in terms of taste, but did add a nice texture balance. Mike Anderson's makes their sausage in house with about a 60/40 moo-to-oink ratio. My sausage was very cheesy, but only moderately spicy. There was also a nice snap to the casings, which is always appreciated. The jalapeno cheddar sausage was an excellent second choice. My brisket was very tender and juicy; I only found one bite out of all my slices that was a tad dry. The brisket had a slight smoke ring, which I expected to be much larger given the abundance of smokey flavor throughout. The crust was well seasoned, as was the rest of the cut. Of the three meats, the ribs had the most smoke. There was a thick red hue on the edges which validated my taste buds. Smokiness aside, the ribs were a little on the dry side. Not so much overcooked, just dry. The crust had a nice sweetness to it, but could benefit from more seasoning. The banana pudding was a perfect palate cleanser. It was a little runny, but not enough to ruin things. My 'nilla wafers, which easily could have been very soggy, still had some crunch left to them too. I'll definitely be going back to Mike Anderson's, and hopefully they'll have some beer bratwurst available the next time around. This may possible be the best BBQ place I've encountered in Dallas! They're is not one menu item I have tried that I did not enjoy! The only downside is that they close at 1430...bummer! However, the beef is tender and juicy, as is the turkey, the ribs, and pulled pork. Don't forget the cheesy bake :-0, unbelievable...you'll be addicted! Go visit and enjoy!

I thought that I had died and gone to BBQ heaven! Unbelieveable BBQ! Even the sauce is good and I do not like many BBQ sauces. The sides were good but the meat was incredible. They even have free ice cream. Personally, I wanted more sauce and BBQ instead of dessert. There is limited parking and they are only open for lunch. They do catering. By the way - do not even think about standing in line and holding the door open...they even have a sign warning you.

We brought our entire club Velocity volleyball team, from Baltimore, for lunch and everything was wonderful. We had Monster baked potatoes, beef brisket, pork ribs, beef ribs, pulled pork and more. It was all great. The sides were great as well as the desserts. Don't forget the free ice cream. We will be back next trip to Dallas. Thanks to the friendly staff at Mike Anderson's.

Worst BBQ in TX. NOT what it used to be. Do yourself a favor, stay home and put some BBQ sauce on your shoe and eat it, will be much better!
Really good bbq
Better get here early due to the long line. It is in the medical district thusly is very crowded. Very good ribs, brisket, and sides.
