Counter seat was great

By Cornerturned |

I saw a huge crowd outside and I thought I'd never get in... alas, I was immediately seated at the counter. Within minutes, I had a nice moderately priced sandwich and fries. The local crowd told me that it's good! Yes, indeed.

Local favourite with great staff

By Leza H |

Really friendly cafe local to us. Often take visiting friends there for a classic diner breakfast. Booths and tables. Expect to wait for a table on busy weekend mornings but it turns over pretty fast. The staff are really friendly and good fun. Also serves lunch and early dinner.

Delicious breakfast

By Dagmara |

Wonderful, old style American diner. Great breakfast, huge portions, very inexpensive. The griddle cakes with bacon and maple syrup were delicious and accompanied by tasty coffee and a small orange juice. All for some $8! We loved every minute of our meal there and even chatted to the lovely owner who was at the cash register. The place was full of regular customers. Such a huge contrast to all the other touristy places in NY. We truly felt like locals and ate really well. Such a pity we didn't get to come back for lunch due to our limited time in NY as I heard the burgers there are great, too. Keep up the good work and please stay open till I'm next in NYC!

An institution for pratt students

By the_moleMumbai |

This is one of the places that stands out not for its food but as an institution for so many pratt students who pass through its doors. Its also a strong local joint where you can get a hearty breakfast for a reasonable price. The food is nothing to write home about its simple and hearty and gets you going for the long road ahead. Certainly my choice to get your day started in the clinton hill area

Rubbish

Disgusting food in a cramped, dirty restaurant. Don't bother with the bland, watery coffee or the breakfast from a box.

Awesome breakfast!! Great history, food and service.

This 80-year old icon in Brooklyn was wonderful! Yes, it’s small, and you may have to stand in line for a bit for a table, but it was so worth it! Friendly staff, speedy service, great food, and many choices. Pancakes are to die for in pancake world. Yum! The brothers who own it are adorable. A bonus.

Excellent breakfast

We stayed very close to Mike's for four nights in Fort Greene and came here every morning for our fix of American breakfast. The service was incredibly efficient, the staff are friendly and the food was incredible as well as great value for money. Highly recommend if you're in the neighbourhood around breakfast time!

cheap, fast and delicious breakfast and great hot chocolate

By kitschqueen |

We were recently in Brooklyn and stopped into Mike's mostly for hot chocolate and coffee but we had bagels too. The hot chocolate came in a huge mug with whipped cream and was delicious. It was a Monday morning and the place was bustling with regulars. Service was prompt and excellent. The cashier was friendly as well. Overall, a very charming and quaint atmosphere. I'd love to go there more often.

Great breakfast!

By Malia Z |

We went for breakfast with our daughter who attends Pratt. Short wait on a Saturday morning for the five of us. The seating was cramped, but that was all a part of the experience. Very affordable eggs, omelettes, pancakes, french toast, with choice of meat and potatoes. Fun little place and lively! Cash only!

Great diner, reasonable prices

By Carolinap1 |

Stopped in for breakfast, sometimes you just want diner food. The place is small and a little on the old side which is a great contrast to all the new restaurant spots. The coffee is fantastic and the pancakes were huge and tasty. $8.25 got you 3 big pancakes, sausage, coffee and juice. Great service and a great deal.

Freshly Squeezed lemonade, Excellent Brunch with very friendly staff

By marciemmm |

What a lovely visit to Mikes. We went Saturday at 11am but it was packed, so returned same time Sunday and there was a 2 minute wait, this place is so popular. We can see why. Good food and portions. My freshly Squeezed lemonade was great and was refilled. Owners are lovely had a good chat and photo in front of their old bank note board. Philly cheesecake is great. Fantastic fries too. Great spot for breakfast or lunch, makes a nice change from the quirky vintage places round about. No wonder this place has been going for 25 + years. Thankyou

A Great Local Spot!

We enjoyed brunch at Mike's last Sunday. Loved the food and and friendly atmosphere. My Husband had the Virginia Ham Steak breakfast and he was very pleased. Toasted blueberry muffin was a great touch. Our son's friend Joe was recognized by name as we waited for our table. Great comfort food and fun experience!

Delicious food at Mike's

We got here close to closing one Saturday afternoon and they made us welcome. We all got the pancakes and sausages and there was not a crumb left on three plates. The portions were good sized and the the food was delicious. Everyone who worked there was friendly. We can't wait to go again.

Great place to just enjoy a quaint, local cafe in Brooklyn

By johnnyfaberdeen |

Mike's is just a great local diner. Atmosphere is comfy and the food is just the same. Very low prices, good service, and comfort food all the way. We love it but beware...cash only and sometimes the local college students pack the place out. Enjoy...we have many times!

Get ready to wait on line on the weekends especially, great breakfast offerings. Seating arrangements are cozy, range from booths to counter seats. If you like coffee shop atmospheres, you'll enjoy this visit.

Good lunch stop

By Ronan Ok |

We were adviced to get lunch at Mike’s coffee shop after visiting the giant’s causeway and heading to the rope bridge and good stop with local food and a lot of come and goes with people from the town. Roasts are available with a few English dishes. Ordered homemade lasagnas , Porc roasted ham with an egg and nice vegetables and the cheese cake. Nice selection of desserts homemade. Service masked and safe.

Classic diner in Brooklyn

By Mike G |

There's really nothing quite like a classic greasy corner diner. If that's what you are looking for, then Mike's is for you. Popular with both the locals in the neighborhood and students from the Pratt Institute campus across the street, Mike's serves up your standard coffee, bacon, eggs, corned beef hash, tuna sandwiches, egg creams, french toast . . . well, you get the picture. It's the epitome of American diner comfort food. Yum.

The Best Breakfast in Brooklyn

Great breakfast and relaxing atmosphere in the heart of Brooklyn. The eggs, grits, and sausages make any breakfast selection a WINNER. I go to Mike's whenever I visit NYC.

This diner is small but cozy. It can get packed quickly but the wait isn't long. Everyone is so polite and friendly. It's been around for years and you can tell that people love going there. Food comes out fast and really good.

Came here with some friends and definitely had one of the best breakfasts ever! I had the eggs and corn beef hash, it did not disappoint! This is a cash only place but there is an atm near by. Service was very friendly and fast.
