A classic deli. Cold cuts and pickles alone were worth the trip! Pastrami is a specialty and they run specials offering a free sandwich with a pound of meat. I'd recommend the classic square kinish over the round one. Free pickles and picked tomatoes.

We ordered stuffed pastrami sandwiches. Although the sandwiches were tasty, they were not at all stuffed. Especially comparing them to the picture of the sandwich they advertise. Also, the price of $18.95 for that sandwich was very expensive, i wouldn't have minded that price if the sandwich was at all what i had expected. In addition, we ordered a couple of hot dogs to go and had to pay extra for coleslaw to replace saurkraut. We were upset for that extra charge, especially after paying $50 for lunch. We will not be back.

You would think a deli would prepare for people wanting great corned beef on St. Paddy’s day. The sandwiches we & others had were the worst I have ever had. The meat was dry as cardboard. Thankfully the fries were still good. This place has lost a lot in food quality in the last years.

Only good things to say. Pastrami knish and latke chips are my favorite combination, but everything I've ever had there was excellent.

I have never been disappointed with the food here. From the pea soup to the pastrami sandwiches, it's all great. The french fries are the best and the pastrami burger is in a class by itself. The art on the walls and the friendly waitresses only add to a terrific eating experience.

Authentic Kosher Delis have been disappearing from New York City; the Mill Basin is one that remains and, fortunately, seems to be thriving, as it deserves to. The food is fine; service is, too. It's true that the prices are not low, but the portions are large and the quality high. They carry all the kosher deli staples and try to add a few unusual innovations. The only lapses in old-fashioned deli authenticity are: This is likely the only kosher deli anywhere that is also an art gallery. (Really!) It makes for an interesting room. The other lapse is to be applauded; unlike the kosher delis I grew up with, the servers are not cranky old men who get your order wrong and then blame it on the customer or the kitchen; to the contrary, the servers and the bus boys are consistently pleasant, accommodating, and efficient. Parking is on the street, but it's rare you have to wait very long or park very far. Note to tourists: most of the New York delis are not authentic any more; not even most of the famous ones in Manhattan. Even if they serve some kosher meats, the places are actually neither kosher nor really traditional.

Authentic kosher delis are getting harder and harder to find -- even in Brooklyn. This place is the real deal. Casual and comfortable. The food is outstanding. Each one of four had something different and each dish was absolutely great. Pastrami, turkey off the frame, latkes, and more. This is the one to go back to, for sure. Nice neighborhood also. Easy parking. Great service.

This Kosher deli in the Mill Basin section of Brooklyn is of the highest quality. You just might have to wait a short time to be seated. 5 to 15 mi. As soon a you are shown to a table the goodies start coming. comp cole slaw (the best) assorted pickles, and several other sides to nibble on while you wait for your order chich was taken quickly. The choise is yours several kinds of soup depending on what day of the week it is. matzo ball and egg noodle to split pea. salami and pastrami, corned beef piping hot. deli omlets, entrees of all kinds. If you can finish you will walk away stuffed if not take it home for another day. The big suprise is that this reat is also an art gallery. You should go, give it a try and you will really like it. My wife and i did and my kids and their kids just loved it. We have invited friends to meet us their for dinner and all had a very good time.

We stopped by for the usual deli favorites..corned beef, pastrami, brisket as well as some wonderful appetizers like chopped liver. We love their Turkey gumbo and matzoh ball soups.Service was good but we needed to ask more than once for water. Menu selection is wonderful and pricing is on par for kosher deli. Be sure to ask for macaroni salad as well as cole slaw if they don't bring it out automatically.Burgers tend to be a little dry but not so that you cant enjoy the meat. Havent been able to sample the dessert menu as we have always been too full to even contemplate dessert. This is only one of three remaining existing full service kosher delis in Brooklyn and for good reason. Please give it a try and you will get an opportunity to experience real Brooklyn kosher deli.

Great experience and wonderful atmosphere. Staff was very friendly. Recommend that you go. Great place to dine.

We had a large party and everyone left full and satisfied. I didn't hear any complaints and the service was excellent. Next time I'm in New York, I'll try to swing by. It'll be worth it even if it is out of the way.

Take the ride to Brooklyn and you wont be disappointed I promise. Pastrami and a square knish! or 2 Franks on Club! Cream Soda, Split pea soup and don’t, don’t forget the rainbow cookies. Check your closet for your stretchy pants HAHAHAHAHAHA You will need them! A must!

Everything I have eaten here is so good. PLT, latke chips, french fries, chicken soup and surprisingly the best chicken fingers I have ever had! People who work here are very nice too. Spacious and very clean. One of the best authentic kosher delis that are still around.

We were very excited to go here heard about the art work and we love kosher deli food. first we are seated and a few minutes later pickles and coleslaw she takes our orders and drink orders....15 minutes later no drinks no water...we find her and ask for water..there are three of us she only brings two....30 minutes later blooming onion app arrives (were here now 45 mins) I finally get up and ask another waitress could we get another water and carry it back myself...now the coffee comes the creamer is frozen or something and it congeals in the coffee..gross. it's now an hour...my husband still doesn't have his drink...we stop her and ask for that. she brings it ..now a bus boy comes and cleans off our table takes our silverware the pickles and coleslaw even though we try to stop him he cleans the table off completely. we're into the second hour here.... supervisor comes over asks if everything is ok we explain what's going on she send back pickles and coleslaw and silverware...it was 2 hrs for sandwiches...regular sandwiches...and then the bills is 75 for three of us and thats three sandwiches and a blooming onion because they took off the bottle of beer and sprite to apologize. my adivce get some sliced up corned beef pastrami and turkey at a nice deli and go home and make sandwiches you'll save at least 50 dollars and aggravation.

It seems to have lost it's magic. Been going there for years & really have been enjoying their food, went yesterday and things have changed. Their hot dogs aren't the same as before, the pastrami was dry and salty. May give it one more try, but as you see, I wasn't very happy. May try Harolds in New Jersey. Durable Bob.

This was our first time and we went there for lunch. We were very satisfied with our selections. We ordered two sandwiches, a corned beef on club and pastrami on rye bread which were absolutely delicious. We had to take half of the sandwiches home because there was huge! We also has cole slaw and pickles and unfortunately couldn't have anything else. We are looking forward to eating there again and hopefully trying some of the other items on the menu.

Mill Basin Kosher Deli is a genuine Jewish kosher deli. Sadly, many of these eateries, such as the famous Carnegie and Stage Delis in Manhattan, have closed their doors. The Mill Basin Deli continues on, located not in midtown, but in a very residential neighborhood in Brooklyn. Two immediate advantages: nearby parking and no long lines to negotiate, especially on show nights. On several visits, I have sampled corned beef, pastrami, kasha varnishkes, chop liver and matzo ball soup. In addition, there are a lot of different dishes and sandwiches available. The corned beef is not the best I’ve tasted, but it is close, and is excellent, nonetheless. Portions are good-sized, but not ridiculously huge, which is healthier. Delis are a bit on the expensive side, but it is certainly worth it for a night out having great eats. There is a full take-out and catering menu available as well, if you choose to dine at home. If you are fan of Jewish delis, you won’t go wrong by going here.

Mill Basin Kosher Deli is a lifesaver in this bedroom community. Not only do they offer the best pastrami rotisserie Empire chicken and matzoh ball soup, but the owners display their art collection. During my last trip, Erte adorned the walls. Last year they opened an outdoor patio for dining. My favorite is the Stuffed Cabbage...to die for.

Been there countless times out of convenience. It’s close to my home and we enjoy kosher deli. This last time I stood at the counter close to 8 minutes waiting to order something “to go” without someone acknowledging me or telling me they will be right with me. When I mentioned this to the counter person the response was”how am I suppose to know what your waiting for”. My response was “ oh, I thought this was a bus stop” and I left. I drove alittle farther down ave u and I had a much better experience. All the staff at mill basin deli are very nasty. They are doing YOU a favor by serving you. And the food is mediocre at best. Drive a little farther, you will be happier.

So here’s the story: I grew up a few blocks away in the 1960s, and my grandparents lived right around the corner. Back in the day we came here all the time. Then in the 1990’s I’d visit my grandfather and take him here for his beloved corned beef on rye. Now I live in Utah and I was visiting, showing my wife the old neighborhood, so of course we stopped in for a snack. And it’s like I stepped into a time machine — the only thing missing was the Miracle Mets aren’t in the World Series and Joe Namath isn’t leading the Jets to the Super Bowl. But the sights, the aromas, and the tastes—oh man, the tastes— are all every bit as good as ever. This is the classic NY Deli that’s (sadly) heading to extinction. So please, please, please, check this place out while you still can. A couple of notes about the food. The pastrami egg roll (!) is not to be missed. No, it’s not health food (and I am a doctor) but it is delicious and a worthy indulgence. And something on the menu I’ve never even heard of before —and I’ve been around the block a few times— that should not be missed: “Latke chips”. Yes, you heard me right and they’re even better than you might imagine. So what are you waiting for? It’s time for a nosh!!

Well, it isn't as good as it used to be, but what is? It is real good, and anyone complaining should tell me where it's better. It's real, real, good NY deli, and that's not so easy to find. Anytime I go back to brooklyn, I stop in, I'm rarely disappointed. ...and don't forget the macaroni salad, and the sour pickles. Hmmmm, hmmmm.

Completely disappointed, the pastrami sandwich was so skimpy, just a few slices, hardly filled the rye bread & had to remove some fat. The price of $20.95 is ridiculous. A friend from the Midwest wanted a NY Pastrami Sandwich & this deli was recommended to me, so sorry this was an embarrassment.

Atmosphere was ok, but I went for the food. The knish was perfect, although they did ask me to check it to make sure it wasn't cold in the center. The corned beef was the most tender and perfect corned beef I have ever tasted. Next time...pastrami!

I've eaten here a couple of times, with a span of years in between for each visit, and I was never too impressed that I wanted to come back quickly to visit this staple of Flatbush, Brooklyn. Last time we were there, I got the pea soup, which was very good, and the best part of the meal. I also got a brisket sandwich, which was unimpressive, small, very dry and pretty much tasteless. I get a much better one at a diner. I was hoping for something more special than dried roast beef with no luscious gravy. I had to actually ask for gravy, which I feel should be part of any brisket sandwich worth it's beef! I aspire to have one with a sweet tasting gravy, like I would cook if I was making brisket at home, but I guess my ideal, is not theirs. The other part of the meal that astounded me with it's mediocrity, was their sweet noodle pudding. Sweet?? There was literally NO FLAVOR at all, let alone any sweetness! It looked decent when it came to the table, and I love a good Kugel as it's called, but it was positively TASTELESS! I am serious when I say it was like eating solid air, nothing, flavorless. How can this be? I don't know, but this was the absolute worst, they should be ashamed to serve it, honestly. It was not sweet, and had absolutely no flavor at all, nothing. Plus the texture was just crumbly and dry. Truly DREADFUL! I was beyond disappointed. I wanted this more than anything else I ordered. My husband had a pastrami sandwich, it wasn't particularly big, and he had matzoh ball soup, which was just OK, and nothing outstanding. I honestly don't know why this place is so popular, the food is nothing to brag about at all. You can find a LOT of much better food in Brooklyn than this. Service was OK, I wasn't sure if we had a waitress or waiter, but that's another story. Bathroom seems like a large water closet in the middle of the dining area, again, could've been nicer, but fairly clean. Very disappointing food in Mill Basin Kosher Deli, I'll try it in another 10 years...maybe.

All the old deli favorites are here - corned beef, pastrami, knishes, matzoh ball soup, brisket, etc. The "overstuffed" sandwiches are not as overstuffed as they once were but the quality of the food is quite good. Don't forget to have a look at the art on the walls.

I had my wife and 2 sons with me. We started off with Stuffed cabbage. Meat was tasty and sauce was sweet and sour and delicious. Skip the salmon croquettes. A little hard. The Pastrami was great. Lean and not greasy. Great taste and nice seasonings on the edges. Very tender and it was on good rye. Had a beef frank, very good flavor ,big and thick, with a snap when you bit into it. Service was great and free refills and good fountain soda. Went home full. Will return in the future when I'm looking for some great deli, even though I live in Staten Island.

Though we are taking out because of the Health Emergency, we really enjoy Mill Basin for all our needs. Soups, Meats, Salads and more they have. Interesting is the Pastrami Roll. They have an extensive menu. We like their Chicken Broth that we like to keep quart in the freezer for those chilly days. Excellent service by the counter staff.

The food is very good and service is pleasant but be prepared for the overpriced sandwiches and other items. We had two pastrami sandwiches and shared an order of fries. While everything tasted great, it shouldn't cost $48 before tip. This is why kosher delis are disappearing; who wants to drop $25pp for lunch? It'll be a long time before I do that again...

Best pastrami in N.Y.C. MOUTHWATERING. French fries good when cooked well done. Hot dogs are also winner as well as all there Deli meats

My wife and I go once a year to the Mill Basin Deli to savor the great taste of their corned beef and pastrami. For us there is nothing better.

We popped in for a quick lunch and were very satisfied! Delicious and obviously very fresh. Great prices too! Our waitress was very nice and our food came out very fast and hot!

Just came back from eating at the Mill Basin Kosher Deli in Brooklyn. Had the hard salami, pastrami and bratwurst. The salami and pastrami weren't so great, compared to Mendy's on 34th Street and Park Ave, or Katz's Deli. No biggie. Unless you are in the area, I do not recommend going there.

Never been to Mill Basin before, found this great deli with reasonable prices and corned beef was delicious. Pickles were a plus! Service was professional and genuinely caring. Will be back soon!

Have been away for 38 years and went to the Mill Basin Deli at there new location since we lived there. The pastrami sandwich was great and the coleslaw was the best. The food is still great.

Had a great meal here recently. Quiet atmosphere. Friendly staff. Most of the food we got was great while some were average. Would return.

Looking for a good soup for lunch, we headed to this kosher deli for matzo ball soup. I was surprised to find such good food! Pickles and slaw are brought to each table for starters. The matzo ball soup was seasoned well, the pierogies needed salt, the corn beef and pastrami was so good, I ate it without the bread. I must say the winner was the pastrami egg roll. Delicious! It was the best egg roll. Just a bit oily. The service was ok. There is a take out counter that moved a bit slow as we were grabbing our soup to go. I almost grabbed some pastrami egg rolls too! Overall a nice spot in Brooklyn.

Outstanding food best brisket corn beef if you are in NEW York treat yourself you will not be dispointed

While touring the city we came upon this kosher deli and decided to give it a try. The service was great and the staff and patrons were very friendly. As soon as we were seated pickles and coleslaw was delivered along with our drinks. The patrons said to order the pastrami and ask for it hot and tender. My other half ordered corned beef. Both sandwiches were piled high and delicious. I definitely rate this as good as Katz's on lower East side.

Ordered the hot corned beef on rye with extra meat and liver. Coleslaw, mustard and Russian dressing on the side. Also got a corned beef and cabbage knish which was light and delicious. I’m a fan. Will be back. Good service too. Mill Basin Park nearby for a nice walk.

My family lives near this deli and orders from there all of the time. Cold cuts are always great. I am a fan of the turkey and roast beef. With that said, I was driving home from my aunt's house back to Long Island. Driving down Avenue T towards Flatbush Avenue, I passed the Mill Basin Deli around 11pm. On the sidewalk, the garbage was piled up for collection. There were empty 5 gallon pails of Admiration Mayonnaise. Being a former deli owner and deli man, this is a very inferior product. I will not eat any salads from this deli.

The best kosher deli around. Especially their overstuffed sandwiches, amazing soups and round kasha. Knishes. Although it is a haul from Manhattan I go about twice a year for a transfusion. Of true Jewish soul good. Prices are competitive. For what you get snd their seven layer cake is a killer. Highly recommend that you plan carefully or you will like the sandwiches. Overstuffed. A true star

I love the mill basin deli. My go to is a pastrami sandwich and matzo ball soup. The sandwiches are huge and I always have yummy leftovers. The food here is extremely fresh and homemade.

This is my favorite treat. As I'm making this review I can imagine the smell as I enter the door ummm good all KOSHER " Can I Please Have A Special". Two hot dogs and one knish to go. However when I have business deals this is where I meet to dine. The dine in is nice and very comfortable; the servers are pleasent, the food is great and the prices are right. Just thinking I will get some turkey salad when I go out; buy a pound get a pound again ummm.

I had a traditional corned beef on rye and it was horrible. I guess this place is slipping. The corned beef wasn't what you would expect from a real Jewish deli. It tasted like someone made it for the first time and was experimenting. It wasn't stringy or flavorful. It was flat and seemed to be cut w a slicer like a cold cut. I usually get tge stuffed derma to go and it's usually great but this time we sat down and it was horrible. Real stuffed derma should be baked w the gravy. They put the 2 pieces on a plate w the gravy on the side It was just horrible.

I grew up around the corner from the Mill Basin Deli and loved the knishes, sandwiches and especially the coleslaw. I now live out of state, and took a trip down memory lane and ate lunch there. Still simply the BEST!!! My friend and I ate a square traditional potato knish (to die for), and a chopped liver sandwich. Of course you MUST eat the coleslaw placed in big serving bowl on the table. Sadly, I have not eaten any coleslaw at any restaurant coming close to the tastiness here. The food is on display at a deli counter (behind glass). The owners Mark and Donny are still there. Run don't walk to the Mill Basin Deli for a true kosher deli experience!!!

I come here for a food cud of coffee, the best pastrami sandwich in Brooklyn and I just enjoy the great service by the wait staff. Friendliest staff. The soups are also all good. But it’s thepastrami you come here for. Melt in your mouth !

Place has gone down over the years. Overpriced for meager sandwiches. Service is mediocre. Not reliable. Sometimes food is good and sometimes almost inedible.

Whenever I visit Brooklyn, which is at least once a year, I make it a point to stop at the Mill Basin Deli. I usually order their tuna salad sandwich on rye which is great.Their sandwiches are pretty big so be prepared to bring your appetite. They have cole slaw and pickles on the table while you're waiting for your meal that are authentic. They're a bit pricey but the good food is worth it. Don't forget their fries! De-lish!

I must say that I enjoy a good Kosher deli sandwich. I find it one of the simple pleasures in life. The Mill Basin Deli has some of the best Kosher deli I have ever had, and easily the best in Brooklyn (which is known for good deli). The deli meats are always properly cured, fresh and tasty. The hot dogs are excellent, as well as the rest of the menu. The service is often good but sometimes some of the wait staff is lacking (like in many places). Still overall, this is one fine Kosher deli.

Lunch was a huge success. Fast service, good food and large portions. We shared a Rueben and latka chips.

This place is off the hook very clean and friendly. Food is forgetabout. The corn beef and pastrami is better than Katz's. Very easy to get to and plenty of parking. You get what you pay for.

It is no wonder that this deli has been around forever. It is great. The hot dogs or Pastrami/Corned beef is just fabulous. Their soups are very good. What ever you order will be good. Portions are large. Enjoy the hanging art as you dine.

The food is superior quality and just delicious to eat. Their pea soup, chopped liver, goulash, is the best I've eaten anywhere, and their southern fried chicken is just perfect. Of course, if you love overstuffed corned beef or pastrami, then you have come to the right place. Everyone I take their for lunch or dinner loves their menu and remarks on how generous their portions are. Also, the restaurant is decorated with such beautiful & interesting art work.

At a time of a dimininishing number of delis, this one stands out. Great food and lots of it. Be prepared to be totally stuffed and satisfied. If you are eating there or picking up food to take out, you will not be disappointed. The staff is friendly and makes sure your needs are taken care of. While thee, enjoy the art gallery!

I had occasion to eat here with my daughter on a recent visit to Brooklyn. I had brisket, fries and an amazing knish stuffed with pastrami topped off with a Dr. Brown's black cherry soda. Some of this came home with me. The portions are huge and really too much for one sitting. My daughter had salmon cakes and sweet potato fries which she said was delicious. The service was fast, efficient and friendly. This deli is definitely one of the best!

Large selection, large portions of really good food. What else can you ask for. Oh, and a world class ever changing art display. Half a sandwich and a soup is a great lunch option. From Franks to Brisket to chopped liver, they have it all. Eat in, take out. Home made soups are delicious. The stuffed cabbage is just as Mom made.

This was my third trip to this Deli. Corned Beef and Pastrami on rye with gravy..oh my goodness..delicious. Only issue I have is that it is very expensive. But definitely good food and service.

Large selection, large portions and good food. What else can you ask for. Oh, and a world class art display. From Franks to Brisket to chopped liver, they have it all. Eat in, take out. Home made soups are delicious.

I enjoyed my sandwich Russian dressing, not too large but a great portion. The house made potato knish was also scrumptious. Not so good- the kosher dills had almost no flavor and the coleslaw was way too vinegary. Also, I really wanted potato pancakes but they were not on the menu. As I was leaving, I saw them listed on a sign over the deli area.

Mill Basin Kosher Deli is a great asset to Brooklyn and a nice place to sit and share a meal with your significant other(s). I love pastrami sandwiches and the best tasting one I ever remember having was bought at this place last month. The lean cuts of pastrami on rye with spicy mustard were absolutely, melt-in-your-mouth delicious! With that being said, I do not find all their sandwiches are as wonderful as the one just described. For example, the sandwiches I got today contained fattier cuts of meat and lacked flavor. I got through half the sandwich and gave the rest to my husband. He took a bite and agreed that the deli missed this time. Every deli I've frequented has had its off days. Mill Basin Kosher Deli is no different, but it's a good spot to check out nonetheless. The service is good and the atmosphere is reminiscent of a family dining experience.

This is the best kosher deli. We went here recently and the brisket, chicken noodle soup, sandwiches, potato knish, potato latkes, and roasted chicken were superb. Everything was so well prepared. If you are in Brooklyn, and want great deli food, this is the place.

anything you order from this place is delicious. nice size portions and very fresh. delivery is no longer free due to price of gas.

One of the last remaining delis in Brooklyn, the Mill Basin Deli offers all of the traditional Kosher deli favorites. The knishes, sandwiches and matzoh ball soup are true comfort food. I love their mushroom barley soup, hot brisket plate and potato pancakes with apple sauce. The unlimited cole slaw, macaroni salad and pickles are a treat. Desserts are not a strong point, but include apple strudel and checkerboard cake. The art gallery which lines the walls add an interesting touch to the otherwise plain motif of wooden tables/chairs and bare floors.

Plain and simple good matzoh ball soup, great corned beef and pastrami. Very pricey but worth a try

This deli is amazing! The food is so good and fresh and the checkerboard cake is the stuff of dreams!

You want delicious authentic Jewish deli?? This is the place to go. Great hotdogs and pastrami. Fresh macaroni and potato salad.

The pastrami used to be the best here about 10 years ago. I have visited twice this year and I was disappointed both times. The pastrami was dried out both times so I do not know what happened. The prices are the only thing that has gone up!

Wife and I lunched there today; relatives had been enthusiastic. We really enjoyed a mushroom barley soup, spinach knish, and pastrami on rye, which was lean as could be. Price $30 before tip. Way less than Manhattan. Clean, pleasant, easy to park location, good service. Will return.

From the tasty rye bread to the wonderful pastrami and corned beef , tongue, and sours, this is our delicatessen to go to when in Brooklyn.

We overrate. We always do with this style of menu - a big menu New York deli. First there were the bottomless half-done and full-sour pickles and slaw. Then the endless menu. R. picked the table winner, a big Reuben sandwich. J and I had a pretty good pastrami, and S had a winner loaded hot dog. We had fries. And the original item was a big plate of latke fries. Stunning menu item with a big serving of apple sauce. That was gone in seconds. We loved this place.
Always a good meal
We've never had a bad meal here. Really good food, good ambiance, good service, good menu. Recommend.
