Tasty breakfast

By Aidan G |

Went to Millie’s for breakfast before starting our road trip. The huge portions set us up for the day and were very tasty too. There is always a queue for tables but it moves pretty quickly, especially if you’re in a couple. Definitely worth a visit.

Good Value, Good Food

By Z-in-Vegas |

This was a great choice. Very busy, but still got seated in about 3 minutes. They had an Irish Benedict breakfast special which was great. Eggs poached perfectly, great hollandaise, and a corned beef hash that was amazing. Usually tasty home made hashes have a really unpleasant, stringy texture, but this had all the flavor of a good home made hash, but the nice, chopped texture I love about the premade stuff. The only reason I am giving it a 4 is the manager, who mis-heard me not once, but twice. I said it would be just 1, waited a few minutes, he came back and asked if the rest of my party was here. When I told him I was alone, he sat me right away. Then I asked him for just water, and he brought me (and charged me for) coffee. The server herself, however, was wonderful.

Disappointing

By Limingde12 |

Perhaps it was an off day. The crab benedict came on a soggy English muffin. I don’t believe that was fresh-squeezed orange juice. The hash browns were good.

Fab neighborhood breakfast place - great service.

Great Breakfast Venue in Silver Lake

By Mark M |

Late Saturday morning breakfast. Very busy place but the staff moves fast to bus tables, seat customers and serve food. Owner/manager is a whirling dervish, always moving, keeping things going. There was a big line but the manager said only a 10-15 minute wait; we were seated after 15 minutes. You get in line and the line loves quickly. No names required, just "How many?" Food was excellent; we had omelets, eggs & chorizo, and sides. They do rosemary potatoes as a side versus hash browns. They were very tasty. Huge portions. Strawberry jam on the tables was very good. Coffee plentiful and constant. Close to a five-star experience. Would definitely return. If you are vegan/tofu lover they have many options to choose from.

Best breakfast we had in LA

By MandaRenee84 |

This was our last meal in LA, as our flight was that afternoon on a sunday. (Get there when it opens at 7, it was getting packed when we left around 8) the food is DELICIOUS, fresh and all around filling in a good way, just enough food. About an 8-10min uber from koreatown where we stayed. Would highly recommend!

we loved this place, close to the apartment we rented. we ate here twice, and there is also the possibility of having gluten-free pancakes, gluten-free waffles and bread. everything really good!

Classic breakfast with a California twist

By stephso |

Millie's is the perfect sit down casual breakfast spot. The huge menu has something for everyone. Far from greasy dinner food, yet hearty enough to satisfy after a late night on the town. There are vegan options with plenty of veggie sausage, bacon, soy cheese, and tofu scrambles! I chose the California omelet, substituting the bacon for soy bacon. Sourdough toast, potatoes, and coffee - a filling meal for under $15.

Great coffee, super breakfast- nice staff

By SOSMindy |

While visiting LA last week, my daughter and I had breakfast in the Silver Lake area of LA. Millie's was great- super menu- everything freshly prepared and great coffee. Classic breakfast food with a wonderful variety and modern twist- I had the eggs benedict over homemade corn beef hash. The coffee was hot and fresh and wonderful. Also had a wonderful fruit cup with red grapes, melon, fresh pineapple, strawberries, blackberries and raspberries. The staff was very attentive, hot coffee coming around often. Sat outside on the sidewalk- beautiful day and great for people watching in this great neighborhood. I can't think of a person that would not find something wonderful to eat on the varied and fresh menu.

Great Neighborhood Venue

By azuriz |

On my recent trip to LA I had breakfast with my kids at this neighborhood restaurant. Great menu selections, from a light breakfast to a hearty one! Prices were good as you got plenty of food for your money. Service was also good for such a busy place. We sat outside, which is a treat for me (coming from a humid part of the country). Nice , leisurely place that you should try when in LA!

The owner will kick you out

By MM Loza |

Good morning, I stopped by the Silver Lake location for breakfast. I saw one table in the shade and I asked one of the waiters if I could have a seat there, he said yes go ahead- I know that server he's from Oaxaca, I sat and then a busser approached my table-without even saying good morning or greeting me, he said: hey how many? I said it's only me but I asked the other server if I could use these table since it's in the shade. This is what he told me, if you sit here the owner says that he's gonna come out and kick you out. Yes that's exactly what he said, either get up of you're getting kicked out by the owner. So I got up and left, I'm going to a different place for breakfast, Millie's is definitely not a place I wanna comeback or recommend anybody.

Not hip - just good !

By mberlin2015 |

Went there several times during my stay in Siverlake. They do great food, you can sit outside in the sun and you meet the ordinary folks of the Silverlake are, it's not hip - it's just good !

We were lucky as no queue when we got there and it was a Saturday, lovely breakfast/brunch and not expensive. Totally recommend

One of the better spots in our hood!

By Kimberley |

Besides the outdoor seating being in such close proximity to your neighbors…this place was good! Service was a little slow but the food was very tasty so whatever. They kept my coffee filled so that's a bonus ALWAYS! I had the corned beef hash and my boyfriend had the usual with banana walnut pancakes. Yes, there's a section called "Usuals." The corned beef hash is claimed to be made in house and although it looked like it came out of a can….it tasted MUCH better than that! I was surprised that everything was separate on the plate (corned beef, potatoes and eggs) versus a traditional hash. Either way I mixed the eggs and hash together and it was great! The potatoes were a bit to "herby" for my boyfriend..I thought they were also just OK. We will definitely be back to this joint and I recommend trying it out as well!

First Millie's, then you can do the stairs!

By Alisa S |

What a lovely little spot! The food is delicious with an eclectic mix of everything from avocado toast to more traditional breakfasts. The customer service is gracious and attentive (they came to refill water and coffee 4 times!). The location lends itself to wonderful people watching. Give yourself a treat and stop here before you venture out to climb the stairs! It'll fill you up and start your day off just right🥂

Loved it

Fantastic breakfast, great food and portions. Service was great and really friendly, as tourists this is always appreciated! Good spot to people watch. Highly recommend the breakfast burrito.

Terrific Choice for Breakfast at this Neighborhood Cafe

By TravelingSoccerLoon |

Neighborhood café that is a great place to grab breakfast. High quality food, good service and a chill vibe. Outdoor sidewalk seating is also available. Open 7a-4p and serving breakfast all day. Lots of choices on the menu. Really enjoyed the Huevos a la Mexicana Scramble.

Good For Breakfast

By JoInTexas |

Outdoor seating (it is right on Sunset Boulevard so do not expect a patio) is the best choice, but there is limited indoor seating at the counter and a couple of tables. The portions are huge, so order accordingly. Our group of eight only had to wait about 10 minutes at 10am in a Sunday (that was a surprise). Most of the persons at the table in our group ordered egg dishes. A couple ordered the biscuits and gravy (very spicy). The potatoes were a big hit. I never got the rye toast that I ordered with my meal, but the server took it off of the bill.

Great breakfast at bargain prices

By GuidoKarp |

Now they have stepped up their game in service (they sell T-Shirts bragging "Service with a F*** You") we come back more often. We were today with a friend - and all three of us had a great breakfast. The portions were "a bit on the small side," but so was the price, so that's fine. Would I make a 30+ detour to go (mandatory in my rating scheme to get five stars)? Probably not, so some very well four stars.

not really my favorite, got food poison at Millies, so I'm not going back there again

Great service, fun brunch food with an LA vibe!

By LaViajera007 |

We showed up a bit early on a Sunday and know this restaurant is a well-oiled machine when it comes to seating people in a line outside on the sidewalk. Do not be deterred--it moves quickly! The brunch menu is large--something for everyone and it is all delicious. The Silver Lake store is an institution and we four loved out food, service was great on a busy morning, too!

Great quick brunch

Nice variety of eggs... benedict, omelets, any style... french toasts. Very simple and comforting. Strong coffee. Quick service. Good value for money. A nice way to start the weekend.

Millie's Streeetside, Outside, Huge-Portion, Pet Friendly Cafe

By papagrande45 |

Our dog, Lulu, sat on the sidewalk while Cathy and I had breakfast. My wife ordered a Mediterranean omelet, while I had the "Eleanor Roosevelt": poached eggs over herb potatoes topped with salsa and cheese--the potatoes were abundant and delicious...and the eggs were beautifully poached. We enjoyed our conversations with passersby and with the table 'bus-person'. Inside there is counter seating and an ATM, which we used to pay for the breakfast. The atmosphere at Millie's is very casual, quite informal. The menu has many gourmet entrees, including an array of Eggs Benedict, smoked salmon entrees, fresh orange juice, great coffee. No white table cloth here; the ambiance is street-side, the cuisine outstanding...my kind of place. My dog, Lexie, gives Millie's five tail-wags (her highest rating), and I heartily concur. Millie's clearly is a "local's" kind of place, but the three of us (me, wife, dog) felt most relaxed and welcome.

Delicious and delightful

Had the Maynard special 1/2 order which was plenty ..other family memeber had sweet potato pancakes and another had the acai bowl none of us were disappointed. Food was excellent service great, staff friendly.

The spot to go for brunch

By the_food_junkies |

We are so glad we found Millie's restaurant! It is true that it can get pretty busy (specially on the weekends) BUT the super friendly staff and AMAZING food make up for it!! The menu is super easy to read/understand :) they also have a great excellent meal choices for meat, vegetarian, and vegan eaters!! We absolutely love, love, love their CHILAQUILES!!! (With red salsa). Save some room for their amazing monkey banana pancakes, they are super delish!

Great little place!

By KeishaH122 |

Had breakfast here with my husband and it was very affordable for a lot of food. The food was great but I particularly liked the banana walnut pancakes! They were not too sweet and tasted homemade! Will definitely be returning here.

Have the pancakes. And wear your hipster hair in a man-bun.

By sandalfon |

... or just laugh at the folks who have one. The pancakes are no laughing matter, however. Eggs are good, bacon is terrific, and the coffee is strong. Decent little breakfast at gentle prices if you find yourself in the headquarters of hipster-ville some weekend morning.

So good! Cream cheese in everything, so save it for a special calorie load day.

Tasty breakfast and GF pancakes to boot!

By David C |

Our party of 5 ate here at 9:30 AM on 3/9/18. We were quickly seated. We ordered s variety of entrees: our GF son got the tall stack of GF pancakes and s side of bacon: the pancakes were light and fluffy, and the 4 slices of bacon were hearty and cooked just right. My wife and I shared California omelet and fruit bowl . Omelet was full of avocado and bacon pieces with nice amount of cheese. We had dry sourdough toast, which had a nice flavor. Fruit bowl included pineapple, cantaloupe, mush melon , blueberries, black raspberries, strawberries, and was a large serving. Omelet comes with small serving of rosemary potatoes . Our other son ordered the Slutty Bun, which is soft scrambled eggs with scallions, cheese caramelized onions and sriracha mayo on brioche bun, also served with rosemary potatoes. He loved it! His girlfriend ordered the acia bowl, which was more of a health food smoothly with hemp granola, fruit. This is her favorite dish! Tab before gratuity was $69. Awesome breakfast cafe!

Very extensive menu for brunch

By andrew_s_lee |

Probably my favorite of the two brunch places I went to, Millie’s has a really, really extensive menu. With a lot of outdoor sidewalk seating, this little cafe is a good place to have some good ol’ comfort food while watching the numerous, sunglasses wearing locals stroll on by. I had the healthy green burrito that was made of egg whites, guacamole and spinach and comes with a side of fresh fruit. It was enormous, and actually quite delicious for the “healthy” option. I’d recommend it, however if you do need the grease and goodness of bacon, sausage, french toast, pancakes etc., don’t worry, they have all that too. I’ll probably go back and have that when I’m not on a health kick.

The fastest bestest breakfast place on earth

By Colin F |

My daughter and I come here a lot. A few years ago it didn't used to be so busy but now expect a wait. Maybe a long, long wait. Maybe they should open up another place across the street? And these guys are so fast they make McDonald's seem like slackers, except that the food is really good. She claims that the chilaquiles are the best on the planet (she should know as she orders them every breakfast place we go and then says "hmmmm - not as good as Millie's") but I usually get one of the Bennys, which are also excellent. Who knew that watching the Sunset Blvd. traffic could be so fascinating? In fact, we'd appreciate it if you wouldn't come here because then we can get a seat easier, Thank you.

Simply delicious!

By Sapomuerto |

Yes, I was drinking the night before. I woke up hungry and a bit hungover. My body wanted something heavy and good. Millie's did the trick for me. I had a steak and eggs, very basic but that's what my body was asking for. My friend Mara had eggs benedict with potato hash... that was savory!!!! Really good stuff. All dishes coming out looked sooo good, I just wanted to stay there all day eating. Small old place, great atmosphere and incredible service.

Great place for breakfast and coffee

By Peppo |

A great selection of various breakfast variations awaits you - and the coffee is just wonderful. And if you can get one of the tables outdoors on a sunny day live just couldn't get any better.

Great spot

By Marie-Ange C |

Read about this spot on tripadvisor and decided to check it out for breakfast. Full of locals on sundaymorning. The surrounding streets up the hill are worth checking out as well. Not cheap for a basic spot but nice food and good service. Would recommend to go.

A perfect Sunday breakfast after a night out in LA

By Tyson C |

We had a group of 7 and we were sat within minutes. The line looked long, but they were so accommodating. The food was soooo good. And the prices are just fine. My coffee cup never got empty, they just kept filling it even when I wasn't paying all that much attention. I got the croissant sandwich and it was perfect, although i would recommend the waffle. It was cooked to perfection.

Fabulous Breakfast

By 2OnTheRoad2014 |

Five of us showed up for breakfast (outside table seat 4), the waiter looked at our tall sons (6' 6" & 6' 91/2") and said 'give me a minute'!! He created a special dining space so that we were all comfortable! The food you ask??? Fabulous! I ordered the Breakfast Burrito, replete with scrambled eggs, cheese, veggies and black beans and served with hash browns (not those wimpy things you sometimes get). I ate half and my husband and I shared the remainder for breakfast the next day. One of our sons recommends the Neptunes Mess, a seafood laden delight. Bring an appetite to Millie's. In addition to the great food, the coffee is hot, delicious and plentiful.

Millie's is open for both breakfast and lunch, but it is breakfast that really stands out. Lots of scrambles, benedicts, omelettes, pancakes, and traditional and Mexican style breakfast options to choose from. Organic, vegetarian, and vegan options. Super friendly service. Shades that provide outdoor seating out of the morning sun.

By Vivivavavoom |

On our way to the Griffiths Observatory, decided to stop for breakfast and what a find! Huge menu, took us 20 minutes to choose. Food homemade, freshly cooked, they do vegetarian and vegan dishes, all reasonably-priced. Very friendly waiters. Top recommendation from us. Thank you!

BAD BAD BAD BAD - Do not eat here.

By SuW626 |

***Told to go to iHop and asked not to come back*** =========================================== All I wanted was a HOT WAFFLE. It was cold, so I went to the counter and had them make another one. The 2nd waffle was cold, the plate was cold. I returned the 2nd waffle. The waiter DID NOT offer anything else. I had to ask them to remove the waffle from the receipt. They were going to charge me regardless. That's ridiculous! I asked the owner at the very least to comp me $3.25 coffee. Granted, reluctantly. All I wanted was a HOT waffle and instead the female owner gave me attitude and accused me of lying about the waffle being cold. I was with two friends who agreed the waffle was cold. Unbelievable, the owner literally walked to my table and put his hand on my shoulder and said, "Don't come back". Besides "got to iHop". I believe in supporting small local businesses. I've worked in restaurants. I don't care that you turnaround food fast. I'm telling you the plate and waffles were cold TWICE. The appropriate response is I'm sorry, what else can I get you?" And then make sure the replacement is perfect. Avoid Millie's because you're going to be served negativity. Again, all I wanted was a HOT WAFFLE. Also the place is super cold and no heating at 7:30 am.

Worth waiting in line for this breakfast any day of the week.

By Deborah B |

It was a busy Sunday late morning and it was a hot day, but we persevered, waiting in line to be seated. Great variety, friendly service, and the line moved quickly.

Wait staff very gracious and attentive even under pressure

By DrewinMv |

I went to Millie's on the advice of one of the baristas from Intelligentsia down the street. I had opted instead to try Madame Matisse (next door.) After waiting around for several minutes and getting a brush-off from the seating staff at MM I took my own name off the list and hoofed it over next door to Millie's. The Intelligentsia barrista's recommendation did not let down. It was the fourth of July at 10:30 and Millie's was packed. Nevertheless, the staff worked quickly and efficiently to fit me in. Take-way: Madame-Matisse-non!, Millie's-oui! The bar is setup like a typical diner, where you can observe first-hand how much care is involved in food preparation. I had the green burrito (filled with egg whites, spinach, green chilies, and avocados and topped with a tangy verde sauce.) Despite being wedged next to a wall the waiter never allowed my water glass to remain empty. I will definitely go here again.

Offers non-meat options!

By Meredith C |

This was a bumping breakfast place to find yummy classics as well as veggie sausage and tempeh bacon on the menu. The service was polite and fast and we sat outside on a beautiful day.

Delishious large portions

By Alexandequa |

This is a regular spot for us. Everything we have had on the breakfast menu had been so good. Our favorites are the corned beef hash, machaca, and chicken fried steak, biscuits and gravy but seriously you can't go wrong. Coffee is good. Service is awesome. It's affordable and you'll be full at the end of your meal likely with leftovers. DO IT. Parking can be annoying, and it's a tiny place but everything else far outweighs these issues.

Valued Teamwork

By Brian |

I first heard of this place through Jerry McClanahan's book titled, "Route 66: EZ Guide for Travelers". Since I have some knowledge of Historic Route 66, I figured I check out one of the restaurants on his book. When you first get to the restaurant, you'll see many tables on the outside. When you walk in, on your right will be a small seating area and to your left, a counter where you can see the food being cooked. In my case, I saw a case of Guacamole sitting out and that was so delightful to see. :D Since I had planned to come here, I had already chosen my menu items ahead of time on their website, which really helped. I went with the Root Beer Float (Which was pretty good, considering I've had ones that suck in the past). I also chose the steak (Medium Rare) and the eggs (Scrambled) along with a biscuit and rosemary potatoes with a side of guacamole. Meanwhile I waited for the food to be cooked, I spent my time taking pictures of the place and looking around, which is in fact quite a small place. When I get my food, I like to taste a little bit of each to try its raw flavor before mixing flavors. I was very surprised and glad, to find that my food did not have a strong sense of salt, which is very good, because that means they give you the choice to add your own amount of salt, and I love that. The Steak was really good! Chewy, tender, scrumptious, and overall, juicy. The eggs were as expected, and the rosemary potatoes, oh you can never go wrong with potatoes. The biscuit was good as well but I was very surprised with the guacamole and the amount given for the price. When I've eaten at Chipotle, the guacamole is usually $1.99 and it is pretty rare for them to give you a decent amount, but here I paid the same price, and as I was eating, the last on my plate were eggs and guacamole, that's how much they gave me. It was really good. I just wish they had Mac N Cheese, but that's okay, the guacamole definitely made up for it! :D One reason that I really liked Millie's was the teamwork they had. They didn't really have pressure. You could see em working, and although sometimes talked, it didn't stop them from doing their job. Now I'm not sure if the taller man I saw was either the manager or the owner, but regardless, I liked that man and how he worked with the workers. He worked in unison with them and didn't just bark orders like I've seen in other places. I was also surprised that when my check came, it didn't have a tip option. I really liked that because I believe tipping should come out of the heart, and not something shoved in your face. I made sure to tip all the people who I came in contact with that served me personally. If you decide to come, definitely give a look at their menu online so you know what to get when you come ahead of time. If you come with friends, come with 3 other friends MAX, as it is a pretty small place. Good place for talking with friends, not really recommended for first dates or business outings. The whole experience here was inspiring. I loved the music, the feel of it, the ambient, the kindness of the people working. It is definitely, Historic Route 66 in Los Angeles, California. I came solo this time, but next time, I'll make sure to bring a friend or two. Here's to you Millie's. :D

Wonderful comfort food brunch

By duke_katie |

I went to Millie's on the suggestion of a friend who lives in Los Feliz. It definitely did not disappoint! The seating is mostly outside and the service a bit slow, but the food is wonderful, delicious home-cooking. I had a breakfast burrito with the best rosemary potatoes, my friend had the elise special (cheesy potatoes with poached eggs) and we shared a banana walnut pancake. Everything came out piping hot and was absolutely delicious. I would suggest this place for anyone looking for a casual brunch. Important note - Millie's doesn't serve alcohol so if you're looking for a boozy brunch or a Sunday Funday this isn't the best bet.

Nice breakfast, great home made chorizo

By Tony |

Had breakfast here, good quality home made food with a good atmosphere. Gets very busy so you may need to queue for larger groups

Lots of tables and quick turnover, but NOT rushed

By Sunlady56 |

We went to Millie's on a Sunday around lunch and fully expected it to be packed and a really long wait. It WAS packed, but we were about 7th in line (yes, you get in line on the curb instead of giving your name to a host/hostess). We maybe waited 15 mins. We got to our table outside (there are umbrellas so you are basically in shade) and immediately someone appeared asking for our drink orders. We got our water and coffee and a Matcha Latte right away. Millie's is on Sunset Blvd, there is an added plus of people watching as you wait for your food. I ordered the blueberry pancakes that came with roasted potatoes and turkey bacon and my daughter had the veggie mess. Both plates come with a LOT of food (I boxed up half of mine for breakfast the next morning) and everything was very good! We never felt rushed and there are plenty of servers/help staff so you are in good hands! I would absolutely come again!

Awesome local diner. Discovered it walking past; it was busy but I found a spot at the bar. Struck up conversations with friendly diners & staff. Historic pad, evidently. Huevos Rancheros was decent. Good value & wicked breakfast diner.

Worth the wait

By msfitz916 |

The line was down the block on the Sunday we stopped in Millie's. But they know what they are doing and things moved quickly. Sitting outside people watching is half the fun. There was apparently new help in the kitchen so food was slow to come out. We barely noticed the delay because the staff was so attentive filling water glasses and coffee. The food is fresh and delicious. The 3 of us have very different food requests and we were all pleased. Definitely will be back next time I'm in LA!

what's better than good food served by very nice guys while you are sitting at a table on the sidewalk of this small restaurant? the sun playing between the outside umbrella? the people watching experience? all the little shops you can poke in across the street?

Hangover cures and interesting combinations

By FritzieMiami_FL |

This is a historic - Eleanor Roosevelt is featured in photograph and on the menu - diner on Sunset. Watching the cooks is entertaining - but there are only a few seats at the counter for this. Breakfast combinations include 'the Devil's Mess' which is touted as a hangover cure in LA. I didn't have a hangover and didn't require the remedy but I did order 'the usual' - breakfast with eggs, potatoes, bacon, pancakes and it was waaaayyyy above ordinary renderings of those ingredients. I especially enjoyed the organic buckwheat pancakes with maple syrup…a real treat that few appreciate so they are seldom on menus I see. The Mexican food is again eclectic combinations but really fresh, quality ingredients, well prepared…And I love that the cooks wear a Millie's T-shirt saying "Service with a f..k you"

Great breakfast place!

Excellent food, nice outside atmosphere and decent service! Go on a nice day ... that shouldn't be difficult. Expect a short wait. Expect a really good and healthy breakfast too.

Delicious destination weekend restaurant

I live in the South Bay and I had to try a restaurant that has been around for 90+ years. We enjoyed sidewalk dining on a sunny day. Fortunately, they have shade umbrellas which made for a better experience. The food was quite remarkable. They use quality ingredients and the kitchen executes with experience. Everything is prepared well and attractively laid out. I like that the heavenly hash wasn't greasy. The breakfast sandwich had a nice ham steak inside and the machaca with eggs included tender slow-roasted pork. The service was very good and the prices are inexpensive. I'd definitely return to try some of their other items. Pro Tip: Arrive early. Otherwise, you could be waiting in a long line on the sidewalk.

Don't come for the Acai Bowl

By rblbab |

My rating is bard in this being petty much the worst Acai Bowl I have ever had. If this was my first Acai Bowl I would be unlikely to try it again. Also, service very slow as far as getting more coffee or the check. Disappointed. :(

Really great food

The best scrambled eggs I’ve ever eaten! There are a few free parking spaces right outside the cafe and plenty of cheap on street parking nearby.

Take Out Brunch

We ordered their Usual banana walnut pancake, huevos ranchero, sweet potato pancakes and their carrot & orange juice. The food was ready when it was picked up and it came packaged well. Best of all they gave us extra biscuit with gravy. Food was delicious and priced right. Will go back here again.

4 Star ONLY because of lack of space...

But the food was quite awesome!!! Very unassuming, hipster joint in the hipster neighborhood of Spring Lake. We walked but saw multiple people park around the restaurant. There are about 4 tables inside plus a countertop that was full when we arrived, so we were forced to sit outdoors (it was a bit cool and my friend was ill). Service was speedy and attentive. We both enjoyed hot tea before getting our meals. She had "The Usual" and I got the Machaca (Mexican dish of shredded seasoned beef in an egg 'burrito', along with rosemary potatoes and black beans) which was ridiculously delicious. This place, although I'm sure has an attractive ambiance to some, but needs way more space.

Excellent

It’s a class spot. Traditional American diner at its very best. Sat up at the bar and watched everything being made. Had Huevos Rancheros. Lovely staff.

Loved this spot!

We chose Millie's on the spur of the moment, since it is close to our daughter's apartment. It was Mother's Day and we feared we'd not be seated, but were ushered right in--the staff is incredibly efficient in moving people through WITHOUT making them feel rushed. We sat at at sidewalk table, which was delightful on a beautiful spring day, BUT which sadly gave us a ringside seat for a dog fight, finally subdued with no major injury to either party. Moving beyond that was made easier by the wonderful breakfast that soon arrived: Heavenly Hash, a wonderful corned beef hash served with potatoes and an incredibly good biscuit, chilaquiles, banana pancakes, and a machaca burrito (so good to be back in SoCal, where one can find machaca!). The waitstaff kept the coffee flowing, and the service was generally quite impressive. This is definitely a go-to place for breakfast, and I highly recommend it. Wonderful food!

My favorite brunch spot in Los Angeles

By Patrick R |

Lived in Silverlake for a year and have to say it was the more than convenience that made me choose Millie's Cafe over and over. The variety of the menu and the consistently wonderful food kept me going back. The service can get a bit dragged at times because the brunch crowd can be intense and the wait times can be longer than you'd expect. But the food more than makes up for it. Amazing pancake, egg scramble and Benedict options, and a favorite of mine was the Chicken Pesto with Artichoke Sandwich. With indoor and outdoor seating this is a great place to enjoy the sunshine and have a fantastic brunch with friends or business partners.

There is not a lot of seating inside, but there are tables set up outside. Food comes quickly and is plentiful.

Everyone was pleased!

We stopped here for a brunch while in the area. Everyone was pleased with what they ordered- acai bowl, burrito, and egg dish. I had a homemade biscuit on the side, which was made in the shape of a muffin- so tasty! The food was great, affordable prices, and we were able to sit outside and people watch.
