Love this place

By trublureview |

We stayed at the Fox and Rose and they referred us here as it was within walking distance. What a referral! Great meal in a smaller intimate setting. Everything, bread, salad, filet all done very well. Next time we are in the neighborhood we will be back.

Would give it another try

By Alexa K |

My boyfriend and I tried Milo's today for the first time after living around the corner for nearly a year. While I would try it again, we did not have the greatest experience. Pros: -The food was flavorful, I got the eggs benedict, he got the Monte Cristo sandwich. Both were delicious (aside from the issue mentioned below). -Cute, cozy family-friendly environment -Friendly waitstaff Cons: -The English muffin on my eggs benedict was thoroughly burnt, and I have no idea who thought it would be okay to serve it that way when it was not specifically requested -We were seated right away, rushed to give our drink orders, and then no one came back to take our food order for at least 20 minutes. Then it took another 20 minutes for it to actually come. -Our drinks never came in the 40 minutes we waited for our food, so we just skipped it. -We were almost over-charged on the bill for NOT getting fruit on one of our orders, but pointed it out and our waiter fixed it for us before we paid. I would chalk some of the cons up to it being a Saturday morning, except for the fact that I watched several parties much larger than ours get seated after us, and get their service/food way faster than we did. I think we had a uniquely disappointing experience so I would definitely give it another try, but I'm hoping someone from Milo's will see this review and improve upon it (especially the burnt English muffin part).

Very Nice & Good Prices

By Rich H |

Went here after a long travel day from Bend. It was the perfect spot for a nice simple meal. The service was great as was the food. I had chicken parmigiana sandwich & the mushroom soup. Both were great. My wife had a delicious burger. Walked there from Doubletree.

Eat where lots of local people eat

By Cally Yates |

We visited 3 times in all. Twice for breakfast and once for dinner. Would have like to go more often as the food, service and atmosphere were excellent. At breakfast the meal included homemade strawberry or blueberry jam, yum on sour dough toast.

Inviting lunch spot

By Nancy D |

A friend suggested having lunch here after we met up at nearby Lloyd Center. We both had salads and they were delicious. Wait staff was attentive and restaurant was reasonably priced. I can't wait to go back again on my next trip to Portland.

Quaint cafe

Lunch menu has a variety of options. A friend recommended and was right - very friendly and food was delicious.

My first and it WONT be my LAST

By SuzanneLG |

Just looking at the pictures makes me hungry, and makes me want to run right back and order everything I see. But i’m on a diet, I’m on my third week and I’ve got to be a good girl. My friend and I met on a Saturday morning, and was able to get right in I was expecting a long line, it was 10 o’clock. I was very specific in what I requested for breakfast I wanted to 2 eggs, One regular and egg white, veggie omelette, one piece of whole wheat toast, no better, fruit and no potatoes oh and of course their wonderful coffee, with milk not cream. . Well they didn’t disappoint everything was cooked perfectly and I’m sure that whole wheat toast must’ve been homemade it was so good. So I stayed on my diet and I enjoyed every morsel just wait till I get my weight down and I’ll be back for breakfast, lunch, and dinner😊. This is now going on my list of favorite Portland restaurants!!

Great owner, great service, great food

By Mysterytravelersfour |

Met a colleague for a business breakfast here. Greeted by Milo with a smile and warm greeting. Service fast and friendly. Definitely will choose here for next meeting whether business or pleasure.

Super service, super food

By Jack W |

We were two couples and a baby, one of those weird babies that likes to sleep in. She wanted to be grumpy but the staff of Milos was accommodating and helpful and so friendly. All while explaining specials and juggling urgent coffee needs and hungry folks. The breakfast menu here features a great sweep of styles of let’s, eggs, plates, Special waffles and other goodness. The house potatoes are perfection, the omelets fluffy and full, and the specials were unique and creative-shrimp crepe with lobster sauce (?!). The staff accommodated a nice long family visit and we all left very happy (even grumpy baby Margot). Many stars!

Great place for dinner or breakfast

By Jeff M |

Loved the mushroom soup for dinner. The smoked salmon omelet was amazing. I highly recommend it. Will come back here again.

Delicious dinner!

By Judy J |

We visited for an early evening dinner. The dining room is light filled and spacious - tables are not closely spaced. We had the grilled portobello cap and the butternut squash-gorgonzola ravioli. Both were excellent. I was concerned that the ravioli might be "richer" than I prefer. It was not. The predominant flavor was the squash with a nice "tang" from the gorgonzola. The "sauce" was a flavorful and broth based. Our server was friendly and attentive.

Breakfast Potatoes not worth eating (Change in Ownership)

By Larry R |

Milo's was sold, and apparently that is why their breakfast potatoes are so mushy and unflavorful. Their coffee, scrambled eggs, bacon, toast and today anyway they had good jam. This is the third time I had poor potatoes , thinking it was because I got old batch the last time I went later in the morning on the weekend. Usually packed I was told to pick my table instead of going to the counter. It was full when I left, but not the usual waiting line. Is it the food? Hope that isn't it. I think the other times I had one of their prior cooks so that isn't the problem. I found out they have been sold, looks like they changed how they make them? Unfortunately I really look forward to breakfast potatoes, and this place had some of the best. Hopefully the rest of the menu is as good as it used to be - but I don't like Benedicts etc., so I don't know. I might check back after awhile, but there is a new place I can walk to that has great potatoes, probably healthier too (not deep fried as far as I can tell). And I make a better Cheddar& mushroom scramble then they do (I think it is the type and amount of cheese I use.)

Eat here and enjoy.

We were staying at a near by B&B and the host said it was their favorite restaurant. Short, sweet walk. We ate early as our stomachs were on Eastern time. Super friendly staff and great fresh food. We even went back and ate the next day, too. Oh we came back for dessert the first night and saved room the second night. Do try the mushroom soup. And on an odd note.....if you go to the restroom, the acoustics in the hall outside the restroom door are amazing.........I like to sing.

Great meal

By Donald T |

My stop at Milo's City Café was one of my favorite on the trip. My wife had a conference dinner that night, so I went in to Milos and sat at the counter. The staff was friendly and fun to talk to. I had the champagne chicken which did not disappoint. It was full of flavor and well prepared.

Great choice for birthday dinner

By Kathy D |

Looked for good food within walking distance of Doubletree Hilton for my birthday dinner. Excellent service, dinner, dessert and atmosphere. Small and unique. Even the original artwork encased in glass was from a friend's 3rd grade class. The seafood salad was FULL of delicious seafood! I usually don't order flourless chocolate cake, but it was recommended and was delicious. My husband highly recommends the mushroom soup.

Friendly Staff, no wait, good food

By LaBeau808 |

We had a lovey dinner ... Started off as the only diners. We wanted a quiet place where we could talk story and this restaurant didn't disappoint . The food was tasty.

Comfortable place to eat

By TexasBuckeye1 |

We took some of our Reps here for dinner while in town for a Trade Show. The food and service was good and it was reasonably price. Dinner for 6 with wine and beers were around $225 with a tip. I had the Hungarian mushroom soup and crab cakes for dinner.

Yummy

By travelagogo2016 |

Great food, you wouldn't expect it in this low key regular looking place. I really enjoyed my meal here. Staff nice, tasty food.

Excellent food but pricey

By Andy F |

We stayed at the Double Tree hotel and was recommended to milos cafe on Broadway. Fantastic breakfast but $40 for 3 people. A bit too much! If you have the cash, make the dash.

Same Great Food, Service

By Molly M |

Some places don't change, and Milo's is one of those places. I had not visited Milo's since well before Covid hit. Stopped in the other day and they offer the same friendly, welcoming service and per usual, some great food! We had the veggie omelet and BLT special. Both were excellent meals. And the service is still pleasant! Can't wait to go back.

Fast service and recent food

By Kimberly L |

I loved our waitress and took her recommendation for the eggs Benedict. I got the vegetarian version that had tomatoes instead of ham. The tomatoes were perfectly ripe and tasty and the sauce tasted the same as most others I've tried.

Not the same cafe

By Marita S |

Having been a patron of Milo’s for many years, I realized they are under new ownership. Same name, different food, different vibe. I’m sure there’s an adjustment period for the new crew and wish them the best!

Standard breakfast but perhaps I didn't order anything special

By zHojo |

I ordered the two eggs easy over with the pepper bacon and frankly, it wasn't all that special though perhaps the 4.4 rating from google maps gave me a high expectation level. The food was good and the pepper bacon was thick as advertised and good. I was pleasantly surprised by the sourdough toast though it was only one slice and two slices would have been nicer. Friendly and plenty of tables and fairly empty on a Monday morning in Portland.

A home away from home

By Steven U |

In many cities mid-tier restaurants with entrées at $10 to $20 is held by mid-tier chains. In contrast, Portland is blessed with many independent mid-tier restaurants and Milo's is one of the best. A well rounded American Bistro menu with large and small plates, nightly specials and incredible mushroom soup. A great value for what they do.

Outstanding

By supergram2 |

Had dinner here with friends who are locals & eat here regularly. Can't say enough good about this place - fabulous food & service and comfy atmosphere. Will definitely return if we're in the area again. Go!

Coming back!

By Sherry R |

Found this place last minute and it did not disappoint! Stopped in after church on a Sunday morning and we were seated immediately at the counter. Very fast and friendly staff. The food was great and so was the coffee. To top it off they had heavy whipping cream for our coffee!!! Bonus points there! LOVE the bacon! On the bad side.....I am craving it now and can’t go. This place will be a definite return and may have to try a mimosa next time.

Epic pancakes

By Katie H |

Really friendly and quick service. The food was amazing, definitely going back before I leave. The place was clean with plenty of seating.

Lunch at Milo's cafe

By Jonas P |

I went to Milo's cafe driven for a tip from a local resident. The food is good and the price is fair. Also, the people who has attended me were very kind and happy doing it, which is really something.

Very good breakfast spot!

By rtr r |

We were in Portland early for a state wrestling tournament on a Saturday am and were hungry for breakfast. We googled up places to go and Milos was close. It was busy but we were seated fast. I had eggs Benedict and it was,as,good as i have ever had. The waitress bragged it was the best in Portland and I wouldn't argue! The wife had a veggie scramble and she loved it. The toasted sourdough bread waa good and they served homemade strawberry jam. The service was friendly and prompt especially considering how busy it was. We,are going to make a special trip just to eat there again.

New to town Stopped by for

By Robert T |

New to town Stopped by for lunch. Street parking and neighborhood walk ins. Don’t be a Karen. Please wear a face mask. Great staff and food.

Great Spot

By Cis |

I met a friend for lunch. The egg benedicts I saw (breakfast served all day) looked great. I had the pasta with bolognese sauce. The ragu was wonderful! Our waitress was fun and professional. Lots of locals there for lunch. Great menu options.

Delicious Breakfast Items, great service

By Mary R |

Try the omelets - or the corned beef hash. So incredibly delicious! And they keep your coffee cup full. Great service, great food, great prices.

Traditional with a little twist

By Tiffer2015 |

My spouse and love to go out to breakfast and figured we would give this place a try while visiting the area Decor is somewhat of a retro diner with modern art hanging from the walls. We arrived on a Sunday at 8:30am and were seated right away, although by 9 the place was packed. My husband had the Stuffed Italian Sausage and Cheese French Toast and said it was delicous. I had the Marianne Eggs Benedict which was very good as well. My only complaint: the steak on the eggs benedict was very thick, too much for a breakfast item (about 2 1/2 inches). We both thought it could have been thinner as not to overpower the rest of the dish. Nice staff, great service, pretty clean place. We would go back.

Great place for brunch

By ScubaSin |

Had a lovely brunch there on a Sunday early afternoon. So many yummy choices but after a friend recommended the Fresh Dungeness Crab Cake Eggs Benedict. It was TO. DIE. FOR. It came with some potatoes and fresh fruit. All was delish!

Perfect service

By Tennis011 |

First visit to Milo. Excellent customer sevice! Dungeness crab cake benedict was very good as well as steak&eggs.Space is open and bigger than it look likes on the web. Restaurant was full for lunch time mid week, but the service was fast.

Monday morning breakfast

By Ashley K |

Friendly service, delicious Megan's Monte Cristo w/ delicious strawberry jam! My husband got the salmon hash, good but mine was better :) may try the breakfast burrito next time. Cafe like atmosphere.

Great cafe in Lloyd Center area

By MB_PTLD |

I have eaten at Milo's a few time for breakfast, dinner and lunch. The food is consistently good and reasonably priced. The staff is always friendly. My favorite meal there is breakfast. Too many great choices to choose from... but the best is the homemade jam, so get something you can spread it on! We ended up eating at the counter one Sunday morning as the place was bustling. We had a great time talking with the staff, and watching the delicious dishes being served. The staff made the experience delightful. I think I may request that seat again!. And you can get a cup of coffee to drink if you need to wait for a table , which is typical on weekends.

Outstanding American, Italian resturant

By Minnie |

This place is excellent!! Mom and pop restaurant the food is always fresh and good!! I had the elk burger special, lobster and shrimp Bisque

OK Lunch

By Ted M |

Usually go for breakfast at Milos (its a favourite) but for this trip to Portland we tried it for lunch. Good service, comfortable interior and seating. Ordered the Milo Burger and a daily special, Fish Tacos. The burger with caramelized onions and choice of cheese (had the cheddar) came with the option of soup of the day, salad or fries. Chose the salad with honey dijon mustard. Nice greens with tomatoes and not overpowered by the dressing. The burger was cooked as requested and came on decent bun that held together. The tacos with black beans, guacamole, Mexican rice was just OK. A squeeze of lime would have been a good accompaniment. Service was good and friendly, credit cards accepted.

What a Great Find of an Average City Cafe

By Keith Y |

When looking for a small convenient cafe for a quick lunch we spotted the Milo's City Cafe sign and looked in. This is NOT a cafe with extravagant ,luxury atmosphere, but a simple cafe with friendly wait staff that serves promptly and with excellent food. By observing the patrons and overhearing them, you can tell some of them eat at Milo's often, which is a sign of GOOD FOOD and GOOD SERVICE. If we were to return to that part of Portland again, we would definitely stop by Milo's and YOU SHOULD TOO.

Comfortable Sunday breakfast BUT..

By Janis N |

6 of us met for Sunday breakfast. Got a good table quickly and service was good BUT right outta the gate my friend accidentally got a cup of hot coffee spilled down his sleeve. The young waitress made no quick effort to get a towel and we had to ask. We also had to ask for another cup of coffee. This could've been more traumatic but we let it go. What was upsetting was the manager made no PR effort to rectify things.. not even a free cup of coffee. Plus since it was busy he rushed our meal along and we didn't get to catch up. Kinda disappointed as we had heard good things about this place. Food and prices adequate though.

Dinner @ milos

By Donna B |

We had dinner here on our first night in Portland .the service was wonderful and the food was delish.

Best meal we had while in Portland

By Mary H |

We stayed at a local B&B & they said this was their favorite we finally tried it our last night & I wish we hadn't waited so long their food was very good & their mushroom soup was to die for.

Fabulous Breakfast!

By Lynn M |

Great restaurant for breakfast! Loved the omelets! Tasty homemade jams and jellies each day! Great service!

Reliable, friendly, breakfast spot

By Brian J |

Milo's is in our steady rotation for breakfast. The staff is experienced and efficient, food is always quick and good. Milo's is an anchor tenant in the neighborhood and it's great to see them still going strong.

What a wonderful restaurant!

By Elana56 |

We walked in and were immediately met by the owner who ran through all of the specials. Then he turned us over to a professional waitress who took our drink orders and gave us plenty of time to salivate over the menu. She even helped a table mate order her meal by noting the food items my friend would not eat, communicating them to the Chef, and letting the chef make a delicious risotto that was immediately scarfed up. The rest of the meal was memorable as well. I will definitely go back. And this restaurant accommodates diners with food allergies!

Yummy ! Yummy in my tummy !

By Rosebud9366 |

Redd was an amazing server ! The food was unbelievably fabulous !!!! I had the peach mimosa - my hubby and I could not decide on what to try and did not want to order the same thing ! So he ordered the salmon Benedict and I ordered the crab. Knowing we were going to share Redd had our plates served accordingly to alleviate any fork stabbing! They were both delicious ! I could not decide which was better - although I feel capers would have sent the salmon over the top ! My hubby felt the crab was the better of the two. All in all great food - great service - reasonable price !

Excellent

By K9151NUandreag |

THE BEST grilled veggie sandwich I've ever had and the Bacon Mac and Cheese was to die for. Soup was also delicious and the kids ate all their pasta (the marinara was awesome) Fast service, fresh ingredients- friendly staff. Price was fair and the quality was top notch

Dinnee

By John Derr |

Excellent dinner. Prepared to perfection. The wait staff was professional and funny. She took care of my husbands quirky requests without a hassle. Ready to return.

Great eats!

By john b |

We had out 40th anniversary dinner here on the recommendation of out hotel staff. Quaint place with an excellent chef. Salmon dinner was one of the best. We will be back.

Classic American Style Cafe

By Caroline K |

This has been an every-Sunday-brunch choice of friends for some time. Delicious presentation of the classic brunch menu.

Brunch

By Maureen K |

Super friendly staff. We were seated right away without reservations. I had the special- eggs Benedict with a shrimp patty instead of Canadian bacon and with spicy tomato sauce. Delicious. Good coffee with prompt refills.

Great scrambles, breakfast potatoes

By Larry R |

I usually get the cheddar & mushroom scramble, but I just had bacon and eggs and the scrambled eggs were the best. And the bacon is now served hot! (Years ago they pre-cooked it). The potatoes are very good too, though they are deep fried they add some bell pepper to for flavor. (The potatoes are best on weekends or Mondays) My late sister liked their Benedicts but not something I like in general. This place should be in the top 10 , if not the top 5 of breakfast places, it is probably my favorite spot.

Impressive wait staff

By 1lorena |

The service there was impeccable. I don’t think I’ve ever been to a place that every staff member looked they had each other’s back. We had a corner table and they still kept coming back checking in on a very busy Sunday morning. Breakfast was great and so was the Bloody Mary.

Good brunch

By Patricia C |

The first place I went when in Oregon. I had a great brunch there, with cranberry mimosas. The service wasn´t great, it was a little snob, but the food was good.

Excellent

By Snow C |

Milo's is excellent. I hadn't been back in years and I'm so pleased to have enjoyed the same incredible food and friendly, attentive service. Local secret: hardworking employees bought the place recently. If you want to contribute to a well deserved success story, get in there and enjoy the best eggs Benedict ever. I will go back every time I visit Portland. Don't sleep on Milo's. Still a win.

Great food, reasonable prices, comfortable restaurant

By Luigi2035 |

Been staying near Convention Center for concerts at Moda Center and found this restaurant on Trip Advisor. We have been there 3X now and each time it's food and service has been excellent. My wife is hooked on their Vegetarian entree, while I've had the steak, crab cakes and special tri tip last night. Dinners include fresh vegetable and starch (rice, roasted and mashed potatoes all excellent!), plus the bread and soft butter they serve are superb. Nice assortment of desserts, again reasonably priced. They don't take reservations but parking is free on the street. We usually end up paying around $60-70 total for dinner, dessert and one beverage including tip. Great value for what you receive.

Great Place For Dinner!

By CatchnRelease1 |

Great little cafe that serves homemade food from simple fish and chips to elegant osso bucco along with a good selection of local wines and beer. I had a cup of their famous Hungarian mushroom soup and I could have taken a bath in it, it was so good. The Northwest Fish Stew was also a delight. We spent between two, $36.00 including a 20% tip. You can get up there in price with the filet's but we weren't that hungry with all the sides that came with it. A place not to miss if you're in and around Lloyd Center / Moda Center areas. Great, friendly service as well.

What a breakfast find

By mitch w |

Really lucky our hotel recommended Milo's for an early breakfast. Coffee is great; this is Portland after all. We had the Stuffed French Toast with real maple syrup. Lots of locals go here.

Love this place

By Lchris |

Fantastic folks, great surroundings, really good food at a good price. Upscale dining for sure. I was waited on by the owner who was great.

Great breakfast

By MarkWing |

A fun place for a delicious breakfast. Lots of great menu choices. Nice, casual atmosphere. A real treat.

Friendly staff and great food

By OkieGirl_3400 |

This is a small local cafe. The food was wonderful and the staff is so friendly and welcoming. We ate a big breakfast and I loved the sour dough toast and home-made jam. It's a small place but not too small. Would have loved to try dinner there too but didn't get a chance. Looks like they have wonderful Italian food.

Decent Community Eatery with Nice People

By Scott B |

We were there on Sunday a little before 6pm. There were about seven tables of people. All gray hairs like us. Everyone was sitting in the booths which were pretty uncomfortable. Don’t know why I find unpadded booths with practically vertical backs so compelling. There was one receptionist who was helping out the one waiter who was helping out the one chef. It was a team effort. Everyone was very nice. We both ordered the Dungeness crab cakes. When I asked our Millennial waiter if they were good, he said they were “much coveted.” Well ok. We didn’t want the vegetables. They were very accommodating about substitutions which I found refreshing. The food was pretty slow coming. I attributed that to the small crew. If the place had been busy, it might have been a real problem. When our food did arrive it was tasty. As we were leaving, we remembered that we needed more quarters for the washing machine at our AirBNB. We asked the receptionist who sent us to the chef. He looked in the safe and found none. Then he poured out the contents of a plastic container and didn’t find any. Finally he opened a rubber triceratops bank and produced some quarters for us. Somehow this struck us as about the most Millennial thing we saw during our week-long stay in Portland.

Tasty Lunch

By RsqDad |

Had lunch at Milo's. Great food, quick service, and reasonable price. Would definitely reccomend. Had the Reubens and Buffalo Chicken Sandwich.

Tasty, a bit spendy and the food good not great

By kaemicha |

I went to Milo's for the first time on this past Easter, 2017, and it was busy so my review may be tainted by that. I had the eggs benedict and it was a moderate portion. I don't eat much but this was a bit small for me.I asked for extra hollandaise and that helped. The service and home fried potato's was excellent in spite of being so busy. While my review is hesitant I do highly recommend Milo's. I will be going back.

Butternut Squash Ravioli - Delicious

By warrenville111 |

My brother and I went on a early Saturday evening. We only had 30 minutes because we were going to the movies nearby. We told them this, and they said that they would prepare our bill while the food cooked so we could eat and keep moving. It worked perfect. We both got a salad, and then shared a Butternut Squash Ravioli which was delicious. My only regret was getting the dish to share!

Good American food in a nice room

By Califdan69 |

This is a very good, normal, American style food restaurant. In Portland the trend for restaurants is to serve unique, one of a kind, and unusual dishes. But, if you’ve are just wanting normal down home fare Milo’s is a good choice. They offer an extensive menu of things that people in Iowa or Arizona or Ohio would recognize and so far it’s all been quite good. They don’t have problems with mixing and matching different things and the wait staff is wonderfully friendly. We’ll be back. Time to Review the Strategy

By Bendoreg |

A long time favorite of NE Portland residents. The food is always good but the latest visit: 1) they serve breakfast all day long but can't provide toast because they "don't have a toaster but can provide ciabatta" - cold, untoasted, ungrilled 2) They serve iced tea but it has orange spices and cinnamon in it. Who looks at a menu to make sure that iced tea is the normal iced tea? Servers do not warn the customer that the iced tea is different from what is "normal" iced tea. Shouldn't they tell anyone ordering or offer a regular iced tea? 3) We had to ask the manager where our order was it took so long - at 10:30 AM and was about 2/3 full.

Best pepper bacon around

By Kathy H |

We had 4 breakfasts at Milo's, walking distance from our NE B&B. Most reliable meal is eggs, wonderful pepper bacon, and sourdough toast. You can substitute sautéed or raw spinach for your potatoes. Homemade strawberry jam is a treat. The fruit cup is very nice. Hash did not turn me on; muffins under eggs Benedict are not toasted (obviously you can switch that up). BLT sandwich was delicious.

Ideal for breakfast

By wego2places |

A pleasant, friendly place for a good breakfast. All the usual dishes prepared with fresh, real ingredients. Try the smoked salmon Benedict. Good coffee and reasonable prices make this a good go-to spot if you're staying near the Convention Center.

Wow breakfast place

By RoadDirt |

This place was recommended for weekend breakfasts. So happy I made the effort to get to this place today. Outstanding selection of omelets, eggs Benedict, French toast and waffles. Home fried potatoes and fruit are included with almost any order. Excellent service and even with a short wait time well worth the time. Go and enjoy food made with love and pride.

Everything was delicious!

By Sarah B |

Beginning to end, everything was fantastic! Menu had a many options, lots of choices for different types of eaters. Food was SOOO good, we can't stop talking about what a great meal we had!

Wonderful neighborhood breakfast place

This is one of our favorite restaurants in our neighborhood. It's a great place for breakfast and they have good lunches and dinners as well. It's very popular with families and other people wanting informal dining.

Best Blackened Chicken Caesar in the West!

By DS1314 |

Milo’s City Cafe is always a treat. The staff greets you as a friend and the menu never disappoints. I encourage you to try one of my favorite lunch and brunch spots in Portland!

Excellent everything!

By SD9E |

We stopped in for breakfast and were greeted by friendly, upbeat staff. Each employee offered excellent recommendations about what to eat, they were right on! The food was delicious and came in large portions. My omelette was so stuffed full of delicious meats that it was more than a meal. All of the food was reasonably priced and just so good. We will definitely be back to Milo's!

Unique menu, cut decor and great staff. Food was average.

By TrvlTheWorld2 |

My husband and I happened upon Milo's on our way to an event at the Rose Quarter. It's a small place, but we enjoyed the décor as well as the menu and service. My husband had the fish and chips which were a little above average. I had the chicken parmesan sandwich and I thoroughly enjoyed the flavor and texture. The bun was light and fluffy and not too chewy. I ordered the Hungarian mushroom soup and thoroughly enjoyed it. Unique and smoky flavor and very rich and hearty. I would go back and try something else on the menu based on other reviews.

I had a Wonderful meal with a friend at this restaurant

By ThomWalls |

A friend and I were seeking a place to get Supper on Friday evening near the hotel. My friend suggested this place, as she and her sister had dined there recently. We had a short wait, but it was worth it, we had excellent food, prepared with great skill.

Good eats!

By PhilH_inVancouver |

A great place to have breakfast for lunch or dinner. We enjoyed Megan's Monte Cristo with strawberry jam and eggs Benedict w avocado based on our server's recommendation. Good eats friendly service.

Breaking News for foodies and travelers everywhere! 🤠🥐🍻🍺🍴🍽 This place will get your horse bucking real fast with this pairing...cowboy style steak with Nicasio IPA....and a bit of red potatoes and A-1 sauce to boot! You got that right cowboys and cowgirls! Lasso your friends or family and come visit. Menu, wait service is superior and crazy good for all appetites. No one ever leaves hungry from this place. Sure to please! We've been here numerous times but this time was the icing on the cake! Mom and I had steak medium and medium well! Mouthwatering and delicious! Would come back here again and again!

Our Plan B Option worked out GREAT! Milo's was GREAT!

By km24800 |

Stopped in here after the primary place we planned to eat at was closed for renovations... Dang! However, Milo's was great. Excellent service, very friendly team, prompt service, the food got to our table QUICK, exactly what we ordered, nice and hot! Our waiter was awesome, the food was terrific. Prices were not bad at all. We will be back, thank you!

Surprisingly not bad (:

By SkyboyTel_Aviv |

Honestly I was going to this place with some doubts, I really didn't want to end up in a dinner type of place. Well surprisingly this was not the case. Place is nicely decorated and has pleasant ambience. I ordered Hungarian soup for a starter. Sour cream added to it had nice touch. Ravioly with nuts was also good. So overall I had very nice dinner. Service BTW, attentive.

Must go in Portland

By cesarinn |

Excellent food and service at reasonable prices…good coffee, variety and the bonus for dinner time, exquisite Peruvian food…

Outstanding once again

We have eaten at Milo's before and had great food so returned again when we were visiting Portland. We were not disappointed. The menu and food remind us of San Francisco. We had a fantastic meal - pasta for me and vegetarian sandwich for my husband. We shared a yummy salad with craisins, hazelnuts, gorgonzola cheese, and wonderful light lemon shallot vinegarette dressing. The service was outstanding as always. It is hard to want to eat anywhere else when we visit Portland.

Best Place to eat in NE Portland

By Jane L |

Milos is the best place to have breakfast and evening meals, The menu is extensive the service excellent, staff really friendly. The food is excellent and beautifully cooked, If your in the area this is must.

A great place for breakfast or lunch.

By greenspratley |

A number of year's ago we had brunch at Milo's cafe and really enjoyed the food and the experience. At that time we joined the people lined up outside the door waiting to get in. While we waited, one of the servers came out and brought us coffee to hold us over until our table was ready. On this visit there wasn't a line up, but the food and the service was as good as it was on our first visit. Our server was great. He had a wonderful sense of humour and he was efficient and attentive to our needs. The menu had a wide-range of selections and all five of us enjoyed our meals. As we looked around the restaurant it became obvious that there are many regular customers. We could certainly understand why. We look forward to returning.

Wonderful find near Lloyd Center

By markbN1062UT |

Eclectic eats in fun setting; friendly staff and well prepared food in comfortable environs. We had a range of dishes which were all better then expected. Milo's staff go the extra step in describing the dishes, and making you feel 'part of the family'.

Great Breakfast

By Dave S |

My wife and I had breakfast here and both loved it. Food is beautifully cooked, with restrained (I.e., rational) portion sizes. It is a cut above other breakfasts we've had anywhere. It's casual and friendly. I'd not hesitate to try it for lunch or dinner.

Been several times - good food, good service

By doctorglenn |

This smallish restaurant offers a nice range of food in a warm atmosphere. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, the specials are worth listening to, and over all it is a perfect spot for a date or a gathering of friends.

Brunch!

Great service and yummy Eggs Benedict. What else do you need to know? 😀 Apparently much much more!!

Believe the good reviews

By Robert H |

My two fellow poets and I were in town for the AWP convention and Milo's was near our AirBandB. We got a warm welcome and ate there two nights in a row. Fish and chips were perfect. The mushroom soup lives up to reviews. Dungenous Crab was terrific. Worth going out of the way for. Prices are fair. A gem.

Great Breakfast!

By otjm |

We found this place 5 years ago, and thankfully it is still there. In fact we happened to be there on it’s 19th anniversary! They offer a nice range of food for breakfast and dinner. All of the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Will definitely return if we're in the area again.

Amazing breakfast

By Beachlover0985 |

Amazing breakfast and great service. Make sure you try one of the Benedicts and the home made jam. We were visiting Portland and picked this restaurant from a long list because of its location, and we weren't disappointed.

Man-sized Breakfast

By Chuck C |

Stopped off at Milo’s for breakfast with three hungry golf buddies. The platters of food were way more than we expected, but way too good to leave even one morsel behind. I had one of the three specialty omelets—-all meat, of course, with added Mexican peppers & washed down with plenty of perfect coffee. The place is just slightly off the beaten path, and well worth finding.

Good breakfast meeting place

By Bruce P |

Milo's was suggested by a local friend as a place to meet him for breakfast. It was perfect. W hen we got there, it was well attended, but not crowded. Food was good, with manageable portions. Service was attentive but not stifling. This family-run restaurant is a keeper.

Great place!!

By angeladawn |

This place was awesome! I loved the building, the service, the drinks and food... I got a lemon drop martini which was delicious! My boss and I split some oysters for an appetizer, also very good! And then got some seafood stew which was also great! I highly recommend this place.

Whenever I'm in Portland I stop at Milo's for breakfast. Generous portions of really good food for a reasonable price. Add good, friendly service and great coffee with something for every taste on the menu.

Is the Service Slipping?

By adavey2016 |

We're long-time fans of Milo's but have been away for a while. On the two visits we've made since our return, it seems that service is not as attentive and low-key as it used to be. On our first visit back, the server seemed more involved in chit-chatting with other staff than in serving us promptly. One of the advantages of Milo's open kitchen is that you can see the staff at work - or not. While I was waiting for my glass of wine, the server was gabbing away about this and that with other staff. Finally he woke up and brought me my wine, but the delay was unreasonable. He apologized, but honestly it isn't something that should be happening in the first place. Last night we had a server I hadn't seen before. Usually, the wait staff at Milo's has a laid back (but attentive) approach to their work, but last night's server was the complete opposite. In my opinion, he was in a noticeable rush, going this way and that between tables and the kitchen. In his rush, he set someone else's teapot in front of me and there was a confused exchange when I explained I hadn't ordered tea. But for all the rushing about and the energetic delivery, my husband was looking longingly at his unattended martini growing warm on the service counter when I returned to the table after a not-insignificant absence. The food was excellent, as always! We'll assume the past two visits were a blip and will keep coming back.

Yumy

By mm5452 |

Best pan fried oysters EVER ! Perfectly cooked and so fresh ! Had them twice in 6 days. Nathan, our waiter, was very attentive but not overbearing! Friendly and knowledgable. Great place to eat while in Portland. Don't miss it.

Excellent lunch option

By Tyche75 |

I happened to arrive right at 2:30, which is when the restaurants shuts down between lunch and dinner; moreover, they had just shut off the gas to do some quick maintenance on the stove, so my timing was unfortunate. However, the kindly staff was able to prepare a tasty meal for me even so - I'd really wanted to try their mushroom soup (which was outstanding) and also their pulled pork sandwich (tasty!). Highly recommended, for both food and service.

Wonderful coffee, great service and healthy breakfast

By MommaFurst |

Think local food prepared well, served hot and tasty. There were 8 kinds of eggs Benedict. Please! Do forget the cholesterol for one day!

Good meal

By TerisTravels2 |

Participation in Portland Dining Month brought us in but the variety and quality will make us return. From salad through dessert the meal was excellent. Ashley gave us great service. Nothing fancy here. Just great food at great prices.

Casual excellence

By Vaughan H |

Breakfast for four was a casual affair. When we arrived at 9.00 am there were only a couple of tables occupied. Some two hours later, it was filling quickly. Two waffles and two eggs Benedict accompanied by coffees was the fare chosen. All present enjoyed their choices and there were no negative comments. Full marks to Milo’s as well as the attentive staff. This is a casual environment but food and service are taken seriously. Well done!

'strange menu

By nancin8rr |

recently I went with a group of people for dinner. I am a fairly open eater but there are some things I cannot eat. The menu seemed to be mostly vegetarian (I am not opposed) but I am a meat eater. I finally found a chicken dish that was acceptable. The rest of the group ordered different things and they raved about the food. I guess I was the only one disappointed.

Good food, fast service

By Kathy G |

Simple food on the main menu and more complex choices in the daily special. Cafe ambience and fast table service.

Great variety at a great price

We were impressed with the wine list and the variety of entrees offered. The wait staff was helpful and on spot

Suggested by the hosts at the Lion and the Rose this bistro was a wonderful experience. Ashley was our server and an absolute joy. Lauren the owner came and sat with us share his recipe for his short ribs. We totally enjoyed our meals and a bottle of Oregon Wine. The best

mimosassssssssssssssssssssssss

By Karolpdx |

Love this brunch cafe. I am gluten free and I was able to get an adequate meal there even though they do not have a dedicated GF menu. Excellent mimosas!!! Service very good.

Wonderful dinner

By Rosslake |

Both my husband and I had the crab cake rissotto special which was out of this world. We cleaned our plates completely. It was rich, smooth and full of flavour. The service was quick and efficient. I highly recommend this cafe.

A Great Place for every meal 365 days a year

By Frank H |

One of the best parts living in the Lloyd/Irvington district is having Milo's a short walk from home. We have never been disappointed, whether it is for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Big menu. The daily specials are outstanding. The owner is on premises during most days, making sure everything is just right. We eat here at least once per week and right now almost daily because our kitchen is being remodeled. One of the major benefits of having no kitchen is Milo's.

Great food and service

By cagatravel |

Great choice of food and beverages at Milo's. The food is excellent and portions would challenge those with a large apatite. Lots of seating with great friendly service.

Husband was happy; I was not.

By MynBill |

My husband liked the crab cake benedict, but my veggie benedict included tasteless tomatoes only. The crispy potatoes with onions were good, and it was nice getting the fruit cup. They do not have an espresso machine, so I missed my latte or cappuccino, although they made a mocha for my husband.

Not as Great as Expected

By Marta M |

For all the stars and rave reviews Milo's City Cafe gets, I expected even their simple breakfast to be great, but not so. I'm a big potato lover, and theirs were hard squares of deep fried, possibly frozen, dry nuggets. Potato lovers would do better to go elsewhere for breakfast.

You only have great meals at milo's. It's my go to restaurant.

By Piccatalover |

If it's breakfast, lunch or dinner milos is almost always at the top of my list of favorite American restaurants. My favorite salad for lunch is the Cobb. My favorite dinner is their chicken piccata substituting their wonderful mashed potatoes for the rice pilaf which is also very good. If you want to impress friends with a great appetizer the saganaki, flaming melted cheese, is a pleaser. The menu is varied but every lunch and dinner has several specials. We always come away happy.

Great recommendation for good food.

By Nadia T |

Recommended by our hotel concierge, we stopped in for an early lunch. The coconut curry chicken soup which we shared was excellent and incredibly tasty. My husband and I both chose omelettes but with different fillings. My vegetarian one was filled with fresh spinach, button mushrooms, onions and yummy cheese. The omelette itself was very light and fluffy and a huge portion, along with delicious sides. My husband said his bacon and ham meal was great tasting too. Great atmosphere and our server was efficient, helpful and very friendly. We would definitely go back.

Great Place For All Your Meals

By Traveler333999 |

Both the dinner and breakfast menus contain numerous options. Our meals were very delicious with quick service and attentive staff.

Wonderful Food

By TexasTraveler |

Was recently there for both dinner and brunch...excellent both times. Menu is creative, food well prepared, with fresh ingredients. Staff is knowledgeable and attentive. Was worried that new ownership would have downgraded quality...no differences detected. A favorite every time we come to Portland

Wow great food and service!

By Oregongolfer |

I am staying in Portland for the Golf Show and staying in the Lloyd Center area. I looked up the TripAdvisor app for someplace to eat nearby. Saw Milos was highly rated call and said they only do reservations for 6 or more but walk-in for 3 should be no problem. I met my friends there and the restaurant was 1/3 full at 6:45 pm on a Thursday night. Service was friendly and really nice not pretentious. Ordered a few drinks and started with the Flaming Cheese. It was really good and just enough for 3-4 people. We all ordered something from the daily specials. I had a pan sauté snapper 0n a creamy coccus bed. It was on of the best seafood meals I have had in a while. The flavor and texture was perfect. When your having a good meal and the atmosphere is good desert is very inviting. We all had some desert. They were all very nice. I highly recommend Milo’s City Cafe.

Terrific breakfast

By 1srs2 |

This is the place to go for eggs anyway you want them. They have everything from omelets to waffles to french toast and more. I had basted eggs which can be tricky but that were cooked prefectly. Pototoes were chunky style with onions and lovely seasonings. We will eat there again, no doubt. Also, our waiter was delightful--friendly and helpful.

Very good omelettes and eggs Benedict.

By CSSD_12 |

A perfect Portland breakfast place. Can be crowded on weekends but ok if you get there early enough or don't mind waiting. Their omelettes are worth waiting for!

Lunch with Friends

By Lorri W |

We had lunch at Milo's City Café with friends. Everyone enjoyed their orders. I was especially impressed with my chicken-rosemary soup.

Consistent every time!

By Nadra M |

Everytime I am in town, my uncle and aunt LOVE this place! Where we can talk and eat and faintly hear the music of Putamyao playing in the background. They have revamped the place with a newer version of modern flair which was most inviting. The service is great, and the food is fabulous. Call ahead for reservations for lunch and dinner. First come first serve basis for breakfast. Usually busy during lunch rush and late dinner. Open 7 days a week but call ahead for hours. The owners are family of the late Milo Sr., who you will see popping in often to check on operations of the restaurant. Lovely place with a relaxing vibe and kick back style. Family friendly.

Get the Bloody Mary

By Jeffrey St Charles |

Staying in Portland's Irvington area this summer, we've been to City Cafe a number of times. The food and service is good and consistent but nothing memorable except the Bloody Mary. We like it as a quick breakfast place.

Delicious Reuben sandwich & Chicken Piccata

By kdsedward |

We stopped by Milo's City Cafe for lunch. We were seated immediately, minutes before the restaurant was fully packed. We ordered the Reuben sandwich and Chicken Piccata. Both were very delicious and well prepared. The service was overall good. We enjoyed our lunch and would come back again.

Cafe with class

By Suz R |

A nice clean restaurant with simple atmosphere. Good food with surprising little touches. Decent prices. Charming wait staff was very attentive, maybe a bit too much. Turkey sandwich had a secret yummy kick to it.

Lovely little cafe'

By Dana |

I had the butternut squash ravioli with hazelnuts, browned butter and feta and the spinach salad; it was very well done and the portion size was perfect. The flour-less chocolate cake to end the meal was a winner.

Very good food

By Huskie4 |

Our food was very good. We ordered a variety of breakfast dishes. All were enjoyed and enjoyable. Regrettably the noise level was relatively high which made the overall experience not as enjoyable as it could/should have been.

Good breakfasts

By Sheryl B |

Nice breakfast place in an interesting neighborhood, historic Irvington. Omelet available with egg white or egg beaters if you are watching your eating. Very affordable.

Delicious dinner!

By Susan B |

Ate here based on the recommendation of our B&B hosts. The food was delicious-- it was a very cool day- and they had the perfect "comfort" food - chicken and mashed potatoes. Portion sizes were generous, the food was well prepared and delicious.

Perennial breakfast favorite

By JenniB15 |

We wanted to take a Portland friend out to breakfast, and where else but Milo's? I had the hot cereal with "the works", Hubby had a southwest omelet with wonderful home-fried potatoes, and friend had something else from the large and diverse menu. Service was prompt and they kept the coffee hot.

Better Than Ever!

By 562rogerw |

We have been going to Milo's for about 7 or 8 years. It has always been a very enjoyable place with good food and service, and very reasonable prices. They now have new ownership as of about 6 months ago. The new menu is similar to the old one, but the quality of food and food preparation are much better. I was usually quite happy with the prior experience, but the quality of the food now is amazing. Everything is absolutely stunning. Prices are slightly higher. For example, Chicken Picatta was $19 and is now $22. But the difference in quality is far greater than $3. I am happy to pay this modest increase in cost for the big increase in quality. Milo's is definitely in my top 10 for Portland.

Great Food

By Dawn |

I was going to give this place a “4” because the place isn’t really attractive, cute, or trendy...just average and plain atmosphere...BUT the food was amazing! I had eggs benny...it was delicious! My husband had a burger and fries and our friends had sandwiches and soup...everyone said their meal was right on. Service was equally as good. A little pricey but I found they are eighth about average for the area ($15 -ish a piece).

Great food and service

By Patti R |

I ate here on a recent vacation. It was recommended by the B&B where I was staying. Good choice for variety of meals. Wait staff was superior.

VERY GOOD MENU

By tshaw34 |

We were in town for a conference and some had been here before. Beer was good, great service and a broad menu that covered everyone at our table. Not my first choice when visiting Portland, but would definitely go back.

Great local spot for breakfast

By Justin F |

We ate at Milos for breakfast recently. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. Service was also very fast. The breakfast food was delicious and in reasonable portions. I would highly recommend stopping here for breakfast if you are in town!

Wonderful neighborhood brunch spot

By irvingtonevk |

This is a long time neighborhood favorite for brunch, especially omelettes and waffles. Family friendly and always packed.

Fabulous dinner, obvious local great

By Janet T |

We had looked at a few places in the Alberta Arts area, but asked the concierge at the Doubletree for a recommendation and glad we did. This obviously local place had fantastic food and great prices. Mom had the Fancy Pants Bacon Mac-n-cheese, spouse had the oysters and I couldn't decide between two pastas so I let server Nathan decide. I couldn't have been happier with the Butternut squash-Gorgonzola ravioli that Nathan chose. The oysters were huge and great for my husband. We even had the flourless cake for dessert...MMMM. We'll be back.

Fresh Ingredients, Good Food

By VicksVaporRub |

A fun, casual mom & pop restaurant in Portland. The food is very good and with very fresh ingredients. I had the butternut squash entree and it was delicious. The service was very good - friendly staff and owners (yes - the owners are there!)

Still great place to eat

By wego2places |

Another trip to the Lloyd Center area means a visit to Milo's. I think their breakfasts are the best in the area. Portions tend to be large, which some people like, but the many choices, including twists on classic dishes like eggs Benedict and omelets, are worth trying and perhaps sharing if you prefer smaller portions. Coffee is good, service helpful and unpretentious. Friends went there for dinner as well and enjoyed the food, so Milo's isn't just for breakfast anymore.

Loved the food, loved the service

By Scott M |

Milos has tasty food and nice servers. I had bbq pork, soup and salad. nice atmosphere too. There were several items on the menu that looked very tempting

GREAT FOOD & STAFF

By skipdx |

I've eaten here multiple times and the food in consistently wonderful and the staff are fun, friendly, yet professional. Overall, a great place to eat with friends and family.

Both visits were winners

By m3Chicago |

Milo's was highly recommended by our innkeeper, and because it was nearby, we went for dinner. Our meals were fresh, delicious and very enjoyable. We especially loved the seafood. A few nights later, we decided to go back again for dinner. Both times, we were well taken care of by our server, Nathan. After dining, we learned from our innkeeper that the restaurant is family owned and operated. We'd gladly return any time for the great food and service.

Great Brunch Place!

By Aimersb |

Worth the wait! Took our college guy here with a friend for brunch. Did not disappoint. Highly recommend the BLT breakfast sandwich add avacado. Yum. Eggs and sausage looked great as did the breakfast burrito. Both hits at our table. Server was funny and fast. Overall solid brunch joint. We waited about 15 minutes for a table for four. They offer coffee and water while you wait. Nice touch.

Miles Above

By PlainsHiker |

If you have not visited Milo's City Cafe you are missing a wonderful eating experience. This family operated cafe serves excellent meals. The food is "Miles Above!" the average restaurant. If you are shopping at Lloyd's Center a short walk to Milo's will cheer you up and provide energy for the remainder of your day. Sandwiches are excellent. The evening entrees are all delicious and moderately prices $12-$20. You will not depart hungry or disappointed after being served by the smiling faces on the family members taking your orders. HAPPY PEOPLE - - - GREAT FOOD

Surprisingly fun (and delicious!)

By Scott M |

Had a wonderful wisecracking waitress, who was heavily into directing us into some good eating. To my shock, two of us ordered the crabcakes Benedict, and the crabcakes were all-crab, and decadent. My wife had the smoked salmon hash and eggs, and she loved it. Tremendously filling food!

Nice breakfast and lunch spot near Lloyd Center.

By Timothy C |

My third visit. Always have good food. Staff friendly and attentive. Some items from breakfast available all day. Nothing fancy but good food. Portions are about right and menu has something for just about any taste.

Outstanding mom and pop restaurant

By Minnie |

I had the Parmesan crusted chicken breast sandwich and side salad!! Fresh bread with butter endless supply, flavored ice tea is to die for!! The is a must come and visit for anyone in Portland!! The customer service is excellent excellent, the cooks are excellent, ambiance is excellent excellent!!

Very sad to see the changes

By K K |

Hadn’t been in for a while, loved the restaurant pre-sale. The New owner said that there would not be a change in the food. Very large change. Nothing like it used to be, food was high-end and always hot and delicious before the sale. Now it’s so so, might as well go to Denny’s For a quarter of the cost, Very sad.

Birthday brunch, what a treat!

By Tina B |

Even though I live 100 miles south of Portland, I often go to Milo's with friends when I'm in town. This time, my friend Judy treated me and the rest of our party to brunch to celebrate my 70th birthday. Always excellent food with a changing, seasonal menu. I chose the beef filet Benedict, another chose the crab cake Benedict (my second choice). Super service. Of course, it helps that m y friend is a regular and knows the owner and many of the staff members. Only downside: they don't take reservations and won't seat your party until all are there.

Great place for brunch

By Ravi K |

Great food on NE Broadway. The many different varieties of Eggs Benedict are a must try. A Bloody Mary or a bottomless cup of coffee and you are all set for the rest of your day.

In NE and good

The best great menu variety, open kitchen very busy it's like being in NY City. The wait staff is chummy but not too much. The food is terrific.

Best restaurant in the neighborhood

It's impossible to go wrong here. But I especially love the saganaki; I lived on Crete for 18 months, and this is the best I've had outside of Greece.

A delicious place for breakfast

By Mayatravels |

This is a popular, local place for breakfast and rightfully so. The menu is varied and offers something for all tastes, the food is delicious and creative, and the service is efficient yet helpful. We had a delicious meal and a great time.

Excellent spot for Breakfast

By Milestogo007 |

I have eaten here at least a half dozen times with my brother for breakfast. Milo's is a very successful restaurant and it seems busy all the time. We have had to wait to be seated five out of the six times due to the amount of people. The food here is excellent and they give you a lot of options whether you are a vegetarian or an omnivore. I have always wanted to take this model who is a vegan here. I could pretend to be a vegan also to impress her and order the food here at Milo's, then jet off to Matt's BBQ and eat like an American behind her back. Anyhow I have ordered several dishes here and they are all good. I have had two different kind of Benedicts, which are excellent, a special of chicken fried chicken which was amazing, the french toast which is also amazing, and the egg sandwich which it out of this world good. Like a BLT with eggs on it. Great with ketchup. Another nice feature is a lot of the breakfast items come with a small bowl of fresh fruit which is very invigorating. The orange juice here is the best in Portland, and the coffee is great. Service is great, I highly recommend you try Milo's City Cafe.

Excellent value, good vibrations

By Andrew H |

Milo's was highly recommended to me, and after I sat down by the window, I probably stared too obviously at other people's food. I even asked a couple about what they thought about their sandwiches. I'm not usually such a pest; but I've had some great meals in Portland, and I suppose I was more worried than usual that I'd be disappointed. The short answer is that, no, I wasn't. First the bad: The bread served was a little tough. And the service was very slow. But that's all the bad, really. The rest of the food was competently prepared and very flavorful. I got the "True Cod" "catch of the day" special. The cod was dusted with curry, and covered with a peach mango chutney that was nicely spiced but too sweet for my taste. It was on a bed of absolutely plain rice pilaf, but that actually worked very well with the spiced and sauced fish. The vegetable medley was nicely done, with a little slice of corn on its cob that...well...I ate with my fingers, of course. I have had better meals. This certainly wasn't a gob-smacking, confetti-throwing, hallelujah of a dinner. But it was also pretty darned inexpensive for what I got. Getting a good local beer from tap with a very filling dinner for around twenty bucks left me quite satisfied in every respect.

Amazing food

By Rochelle J |

Milo's had amazing food, the servers were very personable and made our experience at Milo's enjoyable. Will definitely be coming back next time I'm in Portland.

We went to MILOS for my wife’s birthday. Great food, wonderful service, we will definitely be back again.

don't miss Milos for a great meal

By Faye K |

Milo's is a meeting place for friends, family, business associates. The food is classic and flavorful and always gives you a feeling of being at a home cooked meal. My son actually used to be a chef here 15 years ago, so I know the owners are reputable and clean.

Super Server

By Waimeawahine |

Great Server and fabulous veggie Bennie with delicious hollandaise sauce. My hubby had the pepper Benedict that he licked the plate! Definitely will be revisiting this neighborhood cafe where everyone meets up!

Vegetarian friendly local cafe

By Wyndwhystle |

After a long day wandering on foot we chose Milo's since it was close to our Irvington VRBO. We liked that there were so many vegetarian choices on the menu, and the fact that we were treated as warmly as the other diners who seemed to be local regulars. It was also nice to have the option of smaller sized dishes. My wife had vegetarian pot stickers and a small Caesar salad and I had a veggie sandwich and a salad. Everything seemed freshly made and was tasty, though my wife felt the Caesar was a bit too garlicky. I would recommend Milo's if you are staying or living in Irvington as worth the stroll to Broadway.
