We went here for lunch as a large family group after walking around Little Italy. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was some of the best Italian food we've eaten in several countries. The interior was well decorated and made the experience even more delightful

My first visit to beautiful San Diego. Walked around little Italy for awhile and randomly selected this place. I had a veal parmesan. It’s was average at best. My wife had chicken marsala with risotto side. She was very pleased. My little guy had pasta and meatballs. He was happy but he’s four so it’s kind of easy to please him. I tried the meatballs and to me they tasted like the ones your buy frozen in a grocery store. There tomato sauce was also average. Service was good and the outdoor seating is great for a meal. This place isn’t too bad but I would try elsewhere.

The inside main section is decorated to look like a street cafe in Italy and is very cute. We also had an amazing server. For the appetizer I had the calamari which was ok but somewhat plain (dosing it with lemon helped a little). The sauce was a little spicy so it was like either a plain calamari or too spicy sauce. The garlic bread was good. For the main course I had the linguini with the seafood. The sauce on was great. My wife had a fettuccine Alfredo which she liked but for coming a la carte for 20 is pricy.

Took the Hop On Hop Off Trolley tour and stopped in Little Italy for lunch. We walked along India with many patios and restaurants to choose from but luckily decided to stop at Mimmo's. Waiters were polite and patient, bread and olive oil was delicious, and the pizza we shared was wonderful. Fresh toppings, tasty crust, perfectly baked. Table was set with freshly pressed napkins. Nice touch. Wish we had been there for dinner instead of a quick lunch.

The BEST Italian food I have ever enjoyed!!! The atmosphere is just incredible. The tables are set in what would be a table on the streets of an Italian village. Our server was attentive to our every course in our meal. This is a must experience when in Little Italy aka San Diego!!!!

We visited at lunch time on a sunny week day. There were minimal crowds and wonderful service from Stephany. My husband ordered the Chicken Marsala which was cooked nicely with a delicious sauce. I ordered the lunch special, Chicken Carbonara. The pasta was nicely cooked and not sticky, but the sauce was a little overpowering and all items in the dish tasted the same. I could not tell if I was eating bacon, chicken or pasta except by texture. But, the Tomato Basil Soup was like eating spaghetti sauce and was wonderful. I could have made the soup and bread a meal.

This restaurant was highly recommended by my hotel front desk, and honestly did not disappoint. I enjoyed the focaccia w. herbed oil starter, followed by the campanelle sausage entree. Both were excellent. Service was spot on. Altogether with a lemonade to drink, my bill was only $36 before gratuity, so very reasonable prices for a high quality meal. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed a beautiful dinner outside on the patio. Service was friendly and quick. Our entrees were also very good. Solid restaurant and would definitely return.

Great spot in Little Italy. We enjoyed the 1/2 price appetizers for happy hour. The bruschetta was our favorite, I’d return just to eat that! The stuffed mushrooms were also delicious. Our main entrees were very good as well. The ambiance was also very cool.

We had a wonderful meal at Mimmo’s. The service was excellent. We ordered the specials of the day. I ordered the salmon and my husband ordered the meatballs and the linguini as well as the lobster bisque. The food came out promptly and we enjoyed it immensely. The serving size was generous but not overly big. We sat outside and the whole experience was very pleasant.

Strolling a new city in a new area with a hungry family is very tough. Lots of choices but stopped in and the stuffed mushrooms and garlic bread really hit the spot b4 dinner. My nephew (3) had his killer macaroni and cheese, sister had good chicken marsala, bro in law had linguini and claims and I had probably one of the BEST pieces of lasagna I've had in many years. Sandena was very pleasant and overall this is a great Italian restaurant. I was happy to learn u give Southwest Rapid Rewards too....will come back some day!!!

we found this place really more by accident. once in a while i like to find a place not using TA reviews... ! we had the Cavatappi Sausage and just loved every bite. the bread is probably the best we could remember. fantastic place! thank you, Ignacio for such fantastic service.

The BEST review i can give right now is first for FERNANDO, our server this past Saturday. "Above and beyond" service all around and not just to us, but to every table he waited on. He is a GEM of a server and i hope that the owners/managers acknowledge the value he brings to the restaurant however possible. The food was great and plentiful, the calamari tender and done nicely; we are local and will revisit Mimmo's soon! Thank you again Fernando!

Our hotel recommended Mimmo's in Little Italy and it was a great experience. We walked comfortably through the neighborhood taking in the experience. Fortunate to get a table outside allowed us to eat and people watch. So very European! Loved that they were able to offer a tasty Moscato and the salmon and risotto were unbelievable. Alex, our waiter, was personable and friendly - the entire experience felt like we were part of a large Italian family. Make sure to put this place on your "must visit" the next time you are in San Diego.

Mimmo's is nothing special. the eggplant parm is very different. 3, 1/2" slices of lightly fried eggplant over spaghetti.

Fantastic lunch. Had linguini with bolognese. My wife had pomodoro, both on lunch portions. Bread with olive oil and oregano came first. Bread was crisp on the outside, warm and soft inside. Outstanding. Had a lovely Sangiovese with all. Just fantastic comfort food. Couldn't resist tiramisu for dessert. Impeccable service. This place is a gem!

We were seated and waited on in a timely manner. Our food was served nice and hot, it was delicious! Lovely dinner

We visited "Little Italy" kind've by accident and loved it. It was hard to choose a restaurant, but reading the menus, I decided I wanted Fettuccine Alfredo (its not easy to find) and it was the BEST I've ever tasted and as a bonus, the waiter told me their secret ingredient! I came home and made it myself--fabulous! My husband loved his dinner as well. We sat in the outside area at sunset and it got very busy, but we were not rushed as we finished a bottle of wine.

Great atmosphere and a nice patio. Servers were pleasant, but not very attentive. My server was taken aback when I asked what was recommended on the menu, and never asked me how my meal was going. While the pear salad was excellent, the pasta pescatore was not. It’s hard to mess up shrimp, but mine was overdone for sure, and the mushrooms were soggy. The sauce was too sour (my guess was the dish was sitting too long before being served and the lemons seeped in to the sauce too much). Not great for a $28 pasta. Want to give this place another chance but doesn’t seem worth it with all the other nice restaurants in the area.

Chicken Parmesan and spaghetti with meatballs were both excellent. The clams in the linguine were a little gritty. Service was very good and the decor inside reminds one of an Italian street scene.

The food and service was dreadful tonight. Felt we were an inconvenience to them. The server was dreadful. We had starter and mains served together as said kitchen closed at 20.45. Time was only 20.30. The pasta with meatballs was tasteless and looked awful. The Parnassian chicken with pasta so so bad. No check back by server. One of the worst servers we had. Needs to get another job. Such a shame for San Diego as lasting image was not good. Avoid this restaurant, this is my recommendation.

It was spur of minute to try this place. Service was Great and the food fabulous! Mimmo’s Special Sicilian Pizza and lobster ravioli with a pitcher of their red sangria… so so yummy

We went for happy hour which consisted of the starters being half price and select wine $6.00 a glass. We had the Arancini, meatballs and calamari and could not eat it all. Everything was delicious.

Had a wonderful lunch-calzone heaven! Lovely room and the waitress was very attentive! Will be back soon!

First impression was that this wasn’t going to be good considering the cheesy interior. However, the food was good, the service was excellent and we left happy.

My husband and I were looking for a good Italian restaurant with a more romantic ambiance for our anniversary dinner. We thought we found it with Mimmo's. We checked in with the hostess and were told there would be a 15 minute wait for a table. This was fine, but when we were seated, there were many empty tables. There were even whole sections that had no diners. I guess they are short staffed on Mondays? Anyway, the décor was really pretty - fun murals and indoor fountains, a wine cellar, and great music playing. I loved that. Unfortunately, our server was rather surly. He seemed much more interested in getting us in and out than in making sure we had a nice dining experience. As an example, we asked him to take a picture of us for our anniversary. He complied but he never wished us a happy anniversary or asked us how many years we had been married. The food was good. No complaints there. Just not the experience we were hoping for.

Food is delicious. Waiter Olavo, is amazing and quick with service. Kind and helpful. We had the Chef Specials, lobster ravioli, Salmon, and off the menu spicy shrimp linguini. All good delicious, out timely, even though the restaurant was very busy.

We went to the restaurant on our second evening in SD it was wonderful such a huge difference than our first night mistake. The waiter was wonderful, the décor lovely and the dinner was exceptional we had a great evening and well worth the money we spent, I would certainly recommend this place for a lovely dinner in Little Italy people were friendly and food was wonderful.

We were just walking by one Sunday & stopped at this Restaurant for lunch. Got a table on the outside & watched the world go by. Had a fabulous lunch with great service for not too much money. Most enjoyable & would recommend.

I searched Italian food for San Diego and was not getting a whole lot showing up, so we took a chance and drove down to find out for ourselves. If you are from the east coast of USA you might get a chuckle out of this review but we are from Colorado and absolutely loved the whole experience. So much to choose from and loved the atmosphere and variety. The only downside was that we paid $15 for 2 hours of parking, didn’t really mind because the food and scenery was very cool and fun.

Stayed not too far away at the Hilton. Ordered through Yelp, we had our food in about 45-minutes. The Prosciutto & Arugula Pizza was delicious, great flavor. I want it again! My wife had the cheese lasagna and she loved it, despite being generally picky.

Just got back to hotel after eating at Mimmo’s & had to write a review because of the great experience we just had! Didn’t know where to eat so read a few reviews on different restaurants & picked Mimmo’s. They did not disappoint! Our friendly & handsome waiter, Olavo, recommended the Campanella sausage for my husband because he likes spicy. I had chicken marsala, but substituted angel hair pasta for the risotto, which, in my opinion, made it even better.! The bread was fresh & hot just like the food when it was brought out steaming! There are two kinds of sangria, and we each had one… They are both excellent and if you like sweeter go with the white one! The atmosphere is supposed to remind you of being in Italy. Overall, the experience was delightful & I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great Italian restaurant in Little Italy!

New Years Eve with no reservations, we stumbled in to Mimmo's and they made room for the two of us outside. As busy as they were, the service was second to none, and sitting outside was perfect for people watching while waiting for our meal. For our starter, we ordered bruschetta and it was wonderful!! The hard part was deciding on our main courses - ultimately I went with the Chicken Pomodoro and hubby had the Eggplant Parmesan. The fresh pasta was exquisite and we were both extremely happy with our choice. Will definitely return - if only for the bruschetta!

This was my son’s 10 year birthday dinner. And it was made so special by our server Fernando. Everything was on point! And perfect memory for a significant family milestone

Little Italy has many good restaurants, but this one ended up being our favourite. We ended up going back 4 times in 11 days. We had a variety of dishes from Pizza which was delicious, the best I have ever had, to macaroni and cheese, lasagna and veal parmesan. All the food was top notch with generous portions, It comes with fresh hot home made bread. The service was excellent even though they were busy. The ambience within this beautiful restaurant with music and reasonable priced wine made our visits enjoyable. The only regret I have is I don't live in San Diego or I would be back often.

I went here with my family. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, the wait staff was extremely attentive, the food was very fresh and tasted great, and it wasn’t too expensive! An all-around wonderful experience.

Went to Little Italy not knowing which restaurant we wanted to eat at, walked up and down and found this one I am so very happy we did it’s was delicious I had eggplant Parmesan and it was delicious, husband had the sausage and cavatappi and our 3.5 year old had kids spaghetti and meatball all was very very good I would go back or recommend to others.

Great location in Little Italy within walking distance of everything you’ll want to see. Good service, good food and definitely a little something for everyone. We did enjoy the “choose your own homemade pasta” and the alfredo, marinara and creamy basil pesto were good and we liked there were options to do small or entree size. The small portions were still big so it was perfect. The cannolis were delicious!

Visited tonight as a family of 4. We’d not booked but the restaurant wasn’t overly busy so didn’t struggle to get a table. Service was okay but took ages to get our drinks. Ordered burrata to share which was tasty although the bread wasn’t crispy so ended up a bit too soggy. Blackened chicken was over done and the garlic was burnt, and the spinach hadn’t been drained so made the pasta too watery. Clams were over cooked and gritty and the sauce was pretty tasteless and watery. Eggplant was large portions but the sauce tasted just like tinned tomatoes with no seasoning or herbs. We did get 50% off the wine as it was wine Wednesday which was a nice surprise. Overall pretty average, and quite pricey for good lacking in flavour, littered with errors.

We had made dinner reservations a month in advance. We arrived on time (8:00 pm) we were seated, we waited for 30 minutes before we even got water, other people arrived and were served immediately, we asked if there was a waiter that could take care of us, we were told that someone would be with us. A waitress camea to serve us water, she spilled the water as she was serving it, (we felt discriminated) we are all different nationalities, we have dressed appropriately for the venue. Finally, I get up and ask for a manager I go and ask the manager if someone is going to take care of us otherwise we could go somewhere else we had been waiting for an hour by now. We were getting ready to leave and a waiter comes over to take our order. So we talked and decided to stay the whole experience was terrible. We ordered a bottle of wine, ordered dinner. We spent quite a bot of money and the manager never came to apologize for the delay or offer a complimentary appetizer nothing at all. The restaurant was not busy at all. Not sure what their problem was. Not going there ever agaon.

Everything about this restaurant is great. We were there March 20th, National Ravioli Day. We were seated right away. The server came to take our order fairly quickly. Once our order was in, we didn't wait long for our food. They give you warm bread with olive oil to dip it in which is really good . We both had the ravioli of the day. It was spinach ravioli. This was by far the best italian food I have had in a long time. If you go to Little Italy, you have to eat at Mimmo's. You will be happy you did. The prices are good for San Diego.

We are harsh critics but we give Mimmos a 5 star rating for every category. The food was outstanding, the atmosphere and decor was outstanding, the service was excellent (not outstanding) and the prices were very reasonable. My wife and I had meatballs for an appetiser and shared a gluten free pizza for our main (we had the Mamma Rosa pizza). Our daughter had pasta and really liked it as well. We highly recommend this restaurant and particularly for gluten free diners.

After a long day running an exercise, the team headed to Little Italy for dinner at Mimmo’s. After a few bottles of vino and bread, it was time to order. I went for the Chicken Marsala. One piece of slightly over-done chicken breast, a scoop of risotto, with large pieces of zucchini and carrots to fill up space on the plate. Great service, disappointing food.

We didn't order an enormous amount of food so I can only base my opinion on our pasta dishes. The alfredo sauces were good, very cheesy and rich but the pomodoro sauce was lacking in flavor a bit and the gnocchi was more mushy than I like. The service was very good once our order was taken but it took way too long to take our order as it was during the day and the restaurant was not busy. The bread and olive oil dip was fresh and warm and delicious.

Excellent fresh made pasta and sauces. I enjoyed my clam linguine and aracini (stuffed rice balls). My husband had one of the many types of flat breads. My grandson enjoyed the fresh made macaroni and cheese for children. The interior is painted to look like a street scene in Italy, including false balconies and false windows. There is also a copy of the Italian fountain called Mouth of Truth, which was made famous in the movie Roman Holiday. The only trouble is there are only 1 toilet for men, and 1 for women. This is an issue if there is a line waiting to use the bathroom when you have a small child that needs to go. I’m not sure how they can enlarge the bathrooms to add more stalls.

I had dinner with my parents a few days ago. Delicious food, great atmosphere, and excellent service! Can’t wait to come back!

Mimmo's is an Italian restaurant located at Little Italy area in San Diego, nicely decorated restaurant, spacious, indoor and outdoor seating. Great tasty food, very delicious, good chef, the food well presented, very nice service and helpful staff. Fair price. Highly recommended

Multiple hairs in the food, revolting and unacceptable. I had to vomit into a trash can, completely unacceptable. I hope they go out of business so the venue can be razed to the ground.

Very cozy restaurant in the Little Italy area. The staff were nice and the food was also good. We tried a pizza, pasta carbonara and fettuccini and were all satisfied. It was nice to finally find a restaurant that served normal sized portions, and not the GIGANTIC ones we had been getting for the past couple of days.

Great food, loved the atmosphere, really unique interior set up. I felt like I was in a small town in Italy. The service was exceptional. I would eat here again.

My husband and I are here after it was recommended by a bartender at our hotel. We didn’t have reservations, so we ate at the bar so that we didn’t have to wait. So I don’t have any comments on the ambiance. The bartender was really nice. I had a dish with Italian sausage. I don’t remember what it was called, but it was THE BEST EVER. I mean it was so good. My husband loved his meal too. Go here!

Excellent food and wonderful table outside made our visit to Mimmos fabulous! Would recommend the calamari, best ever and also the pasta dishes were delicious. Book to get a table outside, such a great vibe.

Strolling through Little Italy we stopped in Mimmo’s for a late lunch. We chose Mimmo’s because of the lively patio. We sat outside which was beautiful on such a warm afternoon. We shared the mushrooms which were good - not great. I had the beet salad which was really balanced with the beets, walnuts, roasted tomatoes (nice touch), goat cheese and arugula. It’s nice that you had an option of small or entree portions. We also had the chicken caprese calzone which was nicely prepared. It really made for a nice afternoon!

While in San Diego's Little Italy, we chose Mimmo's based on TA reviews. We made reservations and were seated promptly and attended to by very courteous wait staff. For appetizers, we tried the Caesar & Caprese salads. The Caprese salad featured a large, peeled & quartered tomato, bocconcini & a not-too-sweet balsamic reduction. It was fantastic ! Our mains included chicken pomodoro, carbonara, and the chef's special (cheese) ravioli. All were nicely presented, served promptly & hot. My carbonara (ordered without the peas) was creamy and loaded with pancetta & bacon. Both the chicken pomodoro and the ravioli got rave reviews, too, and servings were sufficient. I asked for a heavy red wine, so our waitress suggested the Conn Creek Cab-Sauv. Fantastico ! This was the last dinner of our San Diego trip and a wonderful dining experience after several very disappointing meals at restaurants across the San Diego waterfront.

We loved this place. It was so cute, the back patio was perfect on a mid-week evening. It was a little cool so they lit the patio warmers and the fireplace, which we were lucky enough to be seated next to. We wanted a lighter dinner so we got the meatball appetizer, the risotto appetizer and a spinach salad to share. All were so good. The staff was great, very friendly and welcoming. The only real downside was the single user bathroom off of the back patio - it was not very clean and definitely needed some maintenance.

Very good authentic Italian food. Rice Balls, Meatballs, Salads to start were all good. I was looking for the grilled octopus to put the night over the top and it was tough. Not chewy like its supposed to be, more like rubber and tough to chew. The Cavatappi and Sausage was great (specialty), Chicken Alfredo was very good and the desserts and coffee were right on. Reasonably priced in a great atmosphere. Service was above board.

Oh my god, the food is incredible. My boyfriend and I both agreed that Mimmo's has the best bruschetta and chicken parmesan we have both ever had. The service was great, and not to mention the Tiramisu!!!!!! Definite must if visiting the downtown San Diego area.

This is the second time I have been here. I enjoy their appetizer meatballs with a caesar on the side. The appetizer meatballs are easily a meal. Good for the sidewalk scene in Little Italy.

Stopped in for lunch at Mimmo’s and had a great meal. Highly recommend eating in Little Italy while in San Diego. Service was excellent and food exceptional. Great value as well.

Delicious food! I has the fettuccini Alfredo with grilled chicken. Very garlicky and buttery. All in the party had great food.

We were there on a Saturday night inside in the room with the wine casks on the wall. The place is super cute. Lots of indoor seating that is not cramped. It was overcast and not hot or humid that day. When we arrived and were seated at 6pm it was comfortable but as we sat there it got really stuffy. To the point that we asked for the air to be clicked on a bit. The waiter then told us they have no air. Gotta admit we were shocked. Can't think of another indoor place that we've frequented that doesn't have air. Some in our group of 6 probably won't return because if it. We bolted after dinner rather than relaxing with our drinks & dessert because if it The food is good not fantastic. The wait staff super friendly. I'd return but with limitations given what I know about the lack of air.

I went to Mimmi's with two friends, one of whom is disabled. Overall our meal was pretty good but there were a few issues. I found that the meatball app we ordered was probably the best thing we had. The wine selection was good and the service was excellent. However the issues started once we got to starters. My friend and I ordered the lobster bisque which was decent, it wasn't great but it did taste like lobster at least. However, my other friend ordered a salad with Italian dressing. The salad consisted of some lettuce with a couple slices of tomato and the Italian dressing was just oil (its possible it wasn't shaken up before they poured it into the ramekin it came in) When my friend explained to the waitress that it was not good and was just oil, she tried to explain to my friend who is a chef for 20 years that what he ordered was Italian dressing and is mostly oil... (I literally laughed out loud at her). We didn't bother arguing instead we just asked for a salad with different dressing. She brought a new salad with "balsamic" dressing which from what I could tell was just some balsamic vinegar in a ramekin. Oh well, stuff happens so moving on. Next came our entrees, two chicken marsala and one chicken parm. The dishes were all inconsistent. First off the chiken parm was a very large piece served on top of a bed of spaghetti smothered in a ton of sauce but It looked good and my friend seemed to enjoy it a lot. However my other friend and I had ordered the same thing and what we got couldn't have been more disappointing. My dish was literally two tiny pieces of chicken with a ton of mushrooms and almost no marsala sauce, my friends plate had two slightly bigger pieces of chicken less mushrooms and the whole plate was swimming in sauce. I literally had to spoon some sauce off of his plate to finsh eating my over cooked dry chicken. The sauce itself had a great flavor but it is clear they cooked both our dishes in the same saute pan (a common occurrence in professional kitchens, how do I know, I used to be a chef) which wouldn't be a problem except they clearly plated his dish first and then put what ever was left on the pan on my plate. The other issue with our plates was that they came with rissoto, which I love, yet while the flavor of the risoto was good its clear they either reheated it in a microwave or had it sitting in a warming drawer, as it was sticky and not very hot. Generally when you make risotto as a side dish for a large kitchen it is made ahead but there are proper ways to finish it off and when done correctly the average eater would never realize it hadn't been made form scratch in the 10 minutes it took to get their food. While this review may seem negative and I did have some problems with their food it was getting late (9ish) by the time we sat down, the wine selection was good and the food had the potential to be great but just feel flat. That being said One of our group really enjoyed the food and I would definitely give them a second try, as some of the things we had were pretty good and the flavor of the entrees was really good the execution was just poor.

We could hardly wait to get back to San Diego so we could eat here again. Nice outside seating, wonderful wait staff, food to die for.

On a Saturday evening it was a 30 min wait for a table but we were offered a spot at the bar where the time flew by. We shared the Risotto Arancini appetizer with Eggplant Parmesan & Fettuccine Clams for mains. Excellent quality food, reasonable sized portions, decent selection of wine & beer and reasonably priced for the quality.

We dined here with friends before the Rock ’n’ Roll half marathon, and nothing beats a hearty carb-loading meal ahead of a big race. Our friends brought their dog, and the staff graciously accommodated us with a table on the patio. Our server even brought out a small bowl of water for the dog, which was a thoughtful touch. To start, we shared the burrata crostini. I was pleasantly surprised by the bread's perfect balance of toastiness and softness. Highly recommend! For my main dish, I opted to create my own pasta with pappardelle, arrabbiata sauce, one meatball, and a side of vodka sauce. I wanted the spiciness of the arrabbiata combined with the creaminess of the vodka sauce. The combination was excellent and turned out just as I had hoped. My fiancé chose the Campanella sausage dish and found it very enjoyable. Our friends were equally pleased with their meals, making it an overall fantastic dining experience!

We chose this restaurant after it was noted as family friendly on Zomato with decent reviews. It was disappointing with poor service. We arrived at 6pm and were seated quickly but ignored for 1/2 an hour. Finally someone took drink orders but they took forever to arrive. While we were waiting for someone to take our food order someone else cleared our table of all cutlery and napkins. Bizarre!! Finally someone took our food order. When the meal was delivered we had to request cutlery and napkins. My husband requested chili sauce with his meal but that never arrived. Someone tried to clear the kids meal plates away before they had finished eating. We ordered a glass of wine to have while the kids ate dessert. They were long finished eating before the wine arrived. The food was ok but for a country that expects tipping at a minimum of 18% for service this restaurant failed to deliver.

We celebrated my husband's 50th birthday dinner as Mimmo's. All the food was delicious. Our server did an amazing job with a group of 14. He was very friendly and attentive. We all enjoyed a wonderful meal together. I would recommend this restaurant for any occasion.

Didn’t start well as the young staff at the door were uninterested but I have to say the food was great, the kids had pizza and pasta and we had the Masala chicken. Couldn’t have had any more, prompt service and great spot in Little Italy

No matter what side of the street you walk in Little Italy, you'll soon come across an Italian restaurant. Our dinner at Mimmo's was OK, but not great. The lobster bisque was good, the minestrone was average. We've just had better Italian food within a short walking distance from Mimmo's.

We got there late with no reservations and were able to sit outside. They have heaters and did not get cold. Great food and service! The gnocchi was light and fluffy- get it with the creamy pesto sauce! The bruschetta is a must as well

I went to Mimmo's with two colleagues from a meeting that I was attending in San Diego. I started with a ear salad, which was very good. For main I had the chicken marsala which was excellent. Service was prompt and courteous

Don't judge this place from it's street view (as I did). While they do have outdoor seating in front of the place, the inside is worth visiting - as far back as you can go. I absolutely loved how they decorated the interior, with Italian street appearances and dining alcoves front to back. Really makes you feel like you're sitting somewhere in Italy. We ordered homemade pizza, Ceasar salad, and a few other small appetizers too. I must say the pizza was very good, but the Ceasar salad was one of the best I've had - great light dresing (not creamy). Loved this place and will come back!

Such an unfortunate visit to what up until today was one of our favorite places in Little Italy. I take my elderly mother to church every Sunday to Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church and support our local business by going to brunch in the Village. Mimmo’s has been one of our favorites until today. Many, many, MANY times did we grace them with our patronage. Having a visiting priest from the Philippines today, Mass was shorter than usual and we made our walk to India street and decided to brunch @ Mimmo’s. Two very nice guys were setting the tables (11:47 AM) and I asked them if it would be fine to seat down and wait, my mother, visibly needing to seat down, with her cane on hand. We sat down and started deciding on what to order since we know the menu by heart by now. A horrible excuse of a man came out with the worst attitude, ill mannered and bad breath and told us they were not open and we had to leave. It was 11:52 AM and we told him we were going to wait, that it was ok. He said the tables had to be set. I pointed that the table was set already and that we asked permission to seat. He said he was the manager and that we had to leave. We did. We went up the street to Civico and had a wonderful brunch. We will never go back to that ridiculous place and i’ll make sure to let everyone know about this sad incident. We passed Mimmo’s on the way back to our car. It was the only empty place in the village. Karma.

This is a great restaurant. Servings are big. Very tasty as well. Great service and not a long wait after orders taken. Family friendly and reasonably priced. In Little Italy.

We had a lovely dinner at Mimmo's on our recent trip to San Diego. The decor inside was beautiful, gave a feel of being at a little cafe in Italy. We weren't there for a romantic dinner that night, but with the lighting and feel of the restaurant, it's definitely a place that I'd pick for that. The food was great. There were four of us and we all ordered something different; all four meals were excellent quality. We found the pricing in line with most upscale restaurants. There are many restaurants in Little Italy and we were happy with this one.

Mimmo's was suggested to us by a server at another restaurant. We are so glad we went. Fresh pasta, fresh bread, amazing starter salad. The inside of the restaurant is like being on the streets of Italy. We almost decided to go back again but decided to try a different restaurant. A must do in Little Italy in San Diego.

Had a great experience. Pretty much everything can be made gluten free except the meatballs. Everything else we asked about they said they just make it to order gluten free. Food was excellent and reasonably priced! Kids had the regular gluten pizza and they loved it. My gluten free pasta dish was awesome. Highly recommend if you are in Little Italy to give this place a try!

Food was excellent. Nice ambience. Lasagna was delicious. Others got chicken parm, veggie flatbread, and Greek salad and all gave two thumbs up. We also loved the focaccia bread and dipping oil. Nice service and not as long as wait as next door. Would definitely come back.

Perfect pasta, great drink selection and the best location in Little Italy. We knew the meal was going to be great when their bread and seasoned olive oil were exceptional. My garlic spicy prawns and pasta, like my husband’s spicy sausage pasta, was creamy and flavorful with just the right amount of heat. Wish we could take this favorite spot home with us!

We stopped here for late lunch - early dinner on a Saturday afternoon and were very pleased. For starters the homemade bread and olive oil were so good that you couldn't help but overeat. We all tried entrees ranging from Calzone to Chicken Parmigiana to Chicken with Fettucine Alfredo. All were very large portions and very good. Only disappointment was that the menu did not offer a fruitti de mare.

Great food. The atmosphere is unbelievable. I had the 4 cheese penne with sausage and was perfect. My wife had the cavatappi with 4 cheese and chicken. We also tried the Italian cream soda which was nice.

We celebrated our son's birthday here and were offered a large selection of delicious Italian entrees. The appetizers, pastas and desserts were all wonderful. They offer a gluten free pasta too!

I have eaten lunch twice on the outdoor patio. Our waiter, Ignacio, was great. We had sub sandwiches on homemade bread. They were delicious. The tiramisu was excellent. I will go back!

Delicious! Had the homemade pasta which was fantastic. Do the bigger portion; you're going to finish your plate! Service was wonderful. Loved the wine selection. Indoor seating was lovely to take a break from the sun.

Wonderful meal. Ended up here after walking the Little Italy strip. Looked inviting and food did not disappoint. Service was excellent, setting is cozy.

We enjoyed the al fresco dining at Mimmo’s. The lunch menu was fantastic and portions were plentiful. My husband had one of the best calzones of his life. The Italian cream sodas were also delicious. Definitely make a trip to enjoy a meal in Little Italy.

Great spot for some traditional Italian food. Very fresh and delicious and loved the ambiance in the restaurant. You can sit outside or inside and it is not loud or noisy. Quite an enjoyable dinner. It also helped we were eating with our son who lives there!!! Calamari was great and so was the chicken parm!!

Honestly all dishes were very good. We came eating several times there during our stay, the terrasse is really nice. We don’t add the fifth star because when we ordered a bottle of sparkling water, the bottle came opened and incomplete...

Nice atmosphere. Very good service. Campanelle Sausage has nice balance of spiciness. Spicy Shrimp Linguini is very spicy. Bread is toasted. Olive oil has nice balance of spices. Good selection of local lagers.

We went there in late July for lunch. Heard the restaurant has been there for40 years! Had pizza, pasta and they are all very good. The calamari is exceptionally good, must try!

4 of us ate there last night. Located in Little Italy. Interesting restaurant space. Food, however, was just average. Service was friendly but not good. Main courses were served when we weren’t even close to finishing salads and appetizers. Then, when we finished main course, our waiter walked by with a tray of dirty dishes and just said, in passing, “you folks want any desert?” Restaurant was fine but just average food and not great service.

Great food in the heart of Little Italy. Nice atmosphere inside and our service was great. Plenty of food in a serving; enough to share a plate and leave completely full. Would definitely return!

If you're wandering thru Little Italy looking for a nice, easy going, well priced, well appointed, wide variety menu, Mimmo's is spot on. Right on India Street just before the market, Mimmo's has patio and indoor dining. Service is appropriately Italian and pleasant. The lasagne was well seasoned and the lunch portion PLENTY; offerings run the gamut from small plates (risotto/bruchetta/stuffed mushrooms) to an assortment of salads and soups; to every imaginable size/shape pasta in every imaginable sauce. Suffice it to say, if you like basic Italian fare, they'll serve it. Mimmo's also offers sub sandwiches from Italian to meatballs; sausage to steak; prosciutto to chicken caprese. Plenty of beverages to choose from: wine and beer. including Italian offerings. Prices for lunch ran from $5 to $25 and the portions were sizeably appropriate. Parking in Little Italy is confined to lots around the area. It's a ten minute walk from the harbor or downtown.

My family had lunch today at this restaurant. It was dirty everywhere, kitchen appeared very messy and not in good health concerns. The food was extremely mediocre I had lasagna with a score of 5 and a pizza that was soggy, unflavored and overall with a score of minus 0. We paid 50.00 dlls that were wasted.

Had 15 min wait & boy was it worth it Pizza was lovily , Stella Lager on Tap & good atmosphere , the decoration was very life like to Italy , if had more days in SD I would revisit

We have been longtime patrons of Mimmos. Have always had outstanding service and food. Tonight, we went in. Our server appeared annoyed from the moment she came to our table. Pasta was good but when we asked for bread, we were told the restaurant had none. Weird but ok. We ordered garlic cheese bread (which was presented as our choice with the other option of garlic bread) which arrived after we finished eating our dinner. Our server didn’t come back to check in on us throughout the experience so we had no way to cancel the bread. For two dinners, 3 sodas, garlic bread and 2 desserts $136 seems insane. The service just wasn’t there tonight and the food quality was lacking the usual flavor and passion that we have come to expect. Maybe an off night but this was the second time something has been off after dining there. We will give it some time before we return.

I’m sensitive to gluten. I was Able to eat descent gluten free pasta with an excellent bologna sauce and chicken. Delicious.

Ate there three out of four nights during a recent visit. Delicious cuisine. Great service Had the pasta specials each time.

Darling interior replicating an Italian street scene for this Italian restaurant in the heart of Little Italy. Italian music and white table linens add to the charming and romantic ambiance. The lobster bisque was deliciously creamy and the recommended Campanelle Sausage with homemade pasta did not disappoint. Perfect for families or a romantic date night!

We ate at Mimmo's twice in October and loved each meal. I had the lobster ravioli which was delicious and my husband enjoyed the sausage pasta dish, which he was told was the house signature dish. It was spicy, but he loves that. The pizza is also very good and the serving is huge - we got the whole pan and took half back for the next day!

Went here to experience Little Italy with the family. Bolognese was good, pizza with gluten free crust was good. Lasagna was good. Indoor seating makes you feel as if you are eating in Rome or Florence. We enjoyed it.

On vacation in San Diego and felt like going to Little Italy and trying some Italian food. The atmosphere was great and our table very comfortable. We started with a bruschetta and stuffed mushrooms. Both were good but the bruschetta was absolutely delicious. The bread they bring out was tasty. I ordered the Cavatappi Sausage and my wife got the Chicken Marsala. The Cavatappi was good and if you like sausage I think you will really like this dish. My wife said the Marsala was some of the best she’s had. Overall the meal was enjoyable and even romantic. I don’t think you could go wrong with Mimmo’s.

We came in on Saturday night for dinner. We were seated after a 15 minute wait. The inside is the restaurant is decorated to feel like you are in Italy strolling through a city. Our server was very attentive and we were served house bread almost immediately upon being seated. The house bread was a warm, soft focaccia. I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo which was good but for $20 ala carte it seemed pretty spendy for Alfredo. My husband had a seafood dish in a white wine sauce which was good but also pricey at $28. We tried the calamari as an appetizer-that was the only let down in the meal. The calamari was plain, with little favor. Our daughter had pasta with butter and cheese and our server didn’t hesitate to accommodate her request for a large portion of hand grated Parmesan. He gladly filled two small plates with cheese for her. All In all, a solid meal.

This was a pleasant surprise for me. I had never been here and am glad I found it. The decor is designed to feel like you are sitting outdoors in a small village. The service is excellent, and the food, pure delight. I tried the cavatatti with sausage and a creamy spice sauce. The flavors were a true blend that awakened my senses. The Chef is a master of balance and perfection. This is a must do.

Love this restaurant, its food is GREAT!!! We each had something completely different, and all 3 of us were super happy. I will certainly return in the future if I am in San Diego!!

We were visiting San Diego and wanted to eat in the Little Italy area and selected Mimmo's. It was great! Several of us got small salads and a small plate which was plenty to eat! The meatballs were outstanding. My friend ordered the octopus appetizer and really enjoyed it. They also have a nice selection of wines by the glass.

My wife and I enjoyed Mimmo's for lunch. We started al fresco, but moved inside after an individual created a disturbance outside. A good restaurant in a great Little Italy location.

Located right in Little Italy, Mimmos had some good Italian food. The bruschetta is a must have, pasta is good too

My family and I went into this place on a whim wile we were visiting the little Italy area of San Diego. They tucked us away into this private little room which was awesome for us and probably better for the other diners too since we can be loud. Our service was simply incredible he was attentive, efficient and made sure this was an excellent experience. The food was absolutely incredible, I had the Bolognese which outside of Italy was one of the best Bolognese's I have ever had. Every other dish we ordered was incredible as well, the meatballs and italian sausage was divine. We ended up swapping out dishes and there wasn't a single entree that failed to impress. The deserts were outstanding as well! Simply put this will be a place that my family and I will return to anytime we are in the area!

Lasagna was great. Drinks were good. I’m not a wine drinker but the wine cocktails were perfect. Service was great. Nice atmosphere.

Came for a weekly date with my boyfriend and was blown away by their pasta. The Carbonara was impeccable, the garlic taste was fantastic (and I'm biased because I love garlic) it was the right amount! The sangria was great and it definitely snuck up on me mid dinner (we decided to get the pitcher) lol. The ambiance was cute and truly felt we were in a little italian town although we were sitting inside. They really crafted the background right, if you look inside the restaurant, you'll know what I'm talking about.

The food is wonderful, and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. We felt as if we were dining on a street in a Tuscan village. I recommend you order the small size of anything because the portions are huge.

All the meals were above average quality (rated around 6 or 7 out of 10) but the homemade meatball appetiser dish was 11/10 and the lasagne was the best over ever had at any restaurant around the world! Would recommend for sure as the staff were great too even with 2 kids! Pricey but worth every dollar

Great happy hour food deals. HUGE half price appetisers (big enough for a main course). Also good drink offers. Left in a food coma!

Heard about Mimmo's from a friend and he did not do it justice. Great outdoor Italian restaurant. Happy hour (Mon to Thur 3-6) is exceptional. Most, if not all, are half price. Calamari fritta, caprese, stuffed mushrooms, meatballs and pupa are all delicious at a great happy hor price. Hose wines and sangria great for $6. We also had the special ravioli. Homemade pasta cannot be beat. Service outstanding. We will return.

I was visiting SD, & we went straight from the airport w/ my sister & 3 small children. Our server was lovely, so patient & great with the kids. The food was SO GOOD! We might make it a tradition now every time I come to CA to get there for dinner.

We were walking around Little Italy and spotted this restaurant with sidewalk seating. It was around 1:30 and they were able to take us right away. We sat outside at a beautifully set table. Our waitress was friendly and very professional. Our food was amazing. My husband had the bested toasted pastrami sandwich we had ever tasted. My kids built their own pasta dishes with nice sized meatballs and I had the spinach salad. We ordered the fritto Misto (calamari)as an appetizer and it was perfectly cooked. The meal came with flavored olive oil and focaccia bread that was absolutely heavenly. The sangria is amazing too!

Who would have thought we would have to wait 45 min just to get a table, but hey we learned next time use open table and reserve a table. Well we got seated outside and it was great lots of people watching. We had the chicken parmigiana it was so yummy and light tasting. This is in Little Italy area. Enjoy

My wife and I visited twice during our 2 night stay. The desk clerk at our nearby hotel mentioned Mimmo’s as an option for lunch. We decided to get in a walk, and check it out. I am so glad we did. We arrived and were greeted right away, and seated against the building, shaded from the sun, and it was a great people watching spot. This table for 2 would be our same table for the next nights dinner.❤️ our servers took great care of us on both visits. I had the spaghetti and meatballs. So yummy! The next night we shared a flatbread pizza. Again, delicious. We did enjoy our two visits, and would absolutely visit again.

The venue is pleasant and the food is quite adequate. They have an outdoor patio which is great for people watching. The large menu has a wide range of offerings even including macaroni and cheese--Italian???? but good. Service is good but servers are not overly friendly. It is only one of many Italian restaurants in Little Italy so browse the street. Has a deli attached.

OMG! This place is freaking amazing. Lobster Bisque was amazing and huge. That bruschetta through. I'm going to be dreaming of that for years to come. Plate size is good for the price. The inside is make to look like you're eating outside in the streets of Italy. Such a nice visit.

Read the reviews and thought I’d try Mimmo’s for dinner with some colleagues. Easy reservation process, welcomed and seated promptly. Friendly and personal staff, a great waitress took very good care of us. However, the food was a bit less than expected. The portions were large, but a bit lacking in flavor. Perhaps it was an off night. I’d go back and try them again just to be fair. That said, Mimmo’s is worth a try.

Enjoyed the dinner in Little Italy at Mimmo. Reasonable prices and good service. Small outdoor patio, but interior reminded me of the old Italian Village in Chicago and the kids enjoyed it. Solid bolognese a good sign.

Started with the Chatcuterie Plate & ended with a walk back to the hotel to walk off all that Italian goodness!! Great service with ample portions. Definitely will be back again!

The servers were so cute, friendly and helpful - the foood was excellent a really cute italian place to sit and relax and enjoy nice food and drink, no rushing - excellent

I went here a couple of years ago while on a work conference and the food was amazing. I craved their Cannolis. The only problem is I couldn’t remember the name of this place. Fast forward 2 years I’m back in San Diego and spent about a hour on the internet to find this place again. They have the best cannolis! The food is amazing too. My Boyfriend enjoyed the creme brûlée’. We mentioned to our fabulous waiter Fernando how happy we were to find Mimmo’s again and they ended up treating us to Tiramisu! It was the best Tiramisu I’ve ever had! Fernando mentioned he’s had his share of Italian food but nothing compares to Mimmo’s Tiramisu and I agree. The food is very reasonably priced, the staff is friendly and attentive. Mimmo’s is right by the Little Italy sign.

Most of the menu items at Mimmo's will look familiar - and the taste and presentation deliver on those familiar expectations. This is not your modernized, hip neo-Italian restaurant - and you'll be glad of that. Classic dishes, reasonably priced and served by very friendly staff make for a great place for dinner!

We had dinner here last night and it was very disappointing. The Chicken Parmesan dinner was poor. The chicken was tough, the noodles were soggy and the sauce was bland. The pizza was just average. This restaurant needs to step it up. I would recommend not eating here.

This was a most enjoyable evening. People watching, great appetizers, fine wine and the Lasagna was wonderful. Little Italy at it's finest.

I had a gluten-free pizza here and the crust was sadly very disappointing. I was very much looking forward to some good pizza and though the topping was great, the altogether experience was not. My husband's pizza was good though.

After a 15 minute wait, we were seated out the front .. the wait was worth it. The bread and olive oil was delicious to start the meal, and all of our food tasted amazing. The service was outstanding. Thank you for a great evening full of little Italy atmosphere!

Family of 5. Made a reservation. We got there early and they were able to seat us right away. The service was great. The food was excellent. The bread is the best! The wait staff was very diligent and had us taken care of.

Great food and the small plates are large portions. The risotto breaks are sublime. Servers are attentive too

This was our choice based on outside appearance (love cloth tablecloths and napkins thank you) and outdoor dining on a beautiful day. Our server Igor was great! He had perfect recommendations and they were spot on! The option to build your own pasta dish was so perfect for our varying tastes. Caprese salad gorgeous and delicious and marinara sauce was also perfect! Tiramisu…best ever! If you’re in Little Italy, make it a must!

Our party of 8 had a fabulous late lunch/early dinner here. We were sightseeing for the day in San Diego and wanted to find a place in Little Italy to eat. Wow, are we glad we stopped here. The food was delectable and very filling portions! The service was terrific and the atmosphere was simply beautiful, especially with their beautiful Christmas decorations. We couldn't be more pleased and highly recommend this great restaurant!

This is the second time we have been here in the last 3 weeks. We returned with high hops. Today was different. We had a server (S——-a) who was WAY off her game. Waited 14 minutes for her to arrive at our table….at 1:40pm….was not busy. She had zero personality. Had to request drink refills twice from a table boy. Waited a long time for the calamari and it was wet and undercooked. Took even longer for our entrees. Here’s where I had a real issue: my wife ordered a pasta dish with bolognese….it was awesome. She ordered the meatballs (plural on the menu) but only one was served - for $4!!!! ….for one meatball, Mentioned this to our server who merely shrugged. I had high hopes for this becoming one of our go-to places in Little Italy as we live nearby. We will be taking our business to the many other really good restaurants nearby.

Dropped by here while wandering in little Italy. The calamari was really good. I did not try anything else since I was too full. Service was really good. Free bread too. Prices were reasonable.

This is the same review I posted on another platform. Been a repeat customer when I come to SD twice a year. Had reservations at 6:30 on 12/29. Note to management 1. As a customer, I'm saddened that when we asked to be moved from the curbside table you wouldn't do it. (The restaurant wasn't full so don't say it was) 2. As a veteran, in a military town you should be ashamed. 3. As an Italian, I would never treat 'family' that way. Che schifo! You had three chances to keep me as a customer. You struck out. Ciao per sempre!!

We arrived 2pm so I guess not the busiest time. Service prompt and attentive. We had Pizza and one of the Pasta Specialities. Both were generous in portion size, appeared freshly prepared and full of flavour.

Mimmo’s located in the center of San Diego’s Little Italy is a treasure. We made a reservation for 2 on Open Table and while we arrived a few minutes early they were able to seat us promptly at our 6:30 time slot. We sat along the rail next to the sidewalk and the people watching made for lively conversation. As it was 4th of July weekend 2021, it was great to see the area filled with diverse people and cultures! Cesar our waiter was efficient, warm, and friendly. He made sure all my dietary restrictions due to Celiac disease were accommodated and no gluten was no issue for the restaurant. My husband RAVED about the meatball appetizer and how it was the best he’d had since leaving Europe years ago, and I was wowed by the caprese salad with super fresh mozzarella, plus generous portions- to go boxes are happily provided. We followed up with a Cesar Salad and an Aruglua , Pear and candied walnut salad, both first rate! Next, we enjoyed large portions (they offer small if desired) of gluten free penne with Alfredo and grilled chicken and my spouse had Campanelle sausage and again he was blown away by the delicious little bells of pasta that absorbed and carried the sausage and sauce. No wonder they can guarantee their scratch made pasta is the best you’ve ever had! My husband finished with a couple to go boxes and an amazing cappuccino, while I enjoyed a creme brûlée with a creamy custard and a lovely hard sugary shell across the top. Start to finish, Cesar guided us through the dining experience and made sure it was a fabulous dining experience.

Try the lobster ravioli. Pretty incredible. Staff was great. Bread was too. Use the 20% off coupon from hop on and off trolley.

This is one of the best Happy Hours that we found in SD. Beer was $2.00 and the appetizers were 50 percent off. The quality of the food is excellent as is the service. This was the only restaurant that we ate in twice during our week in SD.

Restaurant was not too busy, service was great, and the food was delicious. I had the gnocchi with alfredo sauce and grilled chicken. It was fantastic! And the lunch portion was the perfect size. Worth the extra walk up from the bay to Little Italy!

Food was good but not amazing and the service definitely did not help my opinion. After we were sat we waited about 15 minutes before anyone even came over to take our drink order..

Good food, well served, good portions, good wine selection, great tasting food. The place is set up as a street in Italy. Great crime brûlée

We had drinks and the homemade focaccia with dipping oil and it was such a wonderful taste. We sat at the bar. We’ll definitely be going back for a meal here because the bread was awesome.

Spaghetti was best I ever had and restaurant ambience was Just what I was hoping. Wednesday was 1/2 price Bottle of wine so we had 2. Others in group raced about there meals.

Stopped for lunch, they have an oustsanding Charcuterie plate and we enjoyed the outdoor seating and the excellent service.

On our last night in San Diego, we decided to go to the Little Italy section of town. We read the positive reviews on Trip Advisor and decided to give it a try. We weren't disappointed! Mimmo's is deceptive. It's bigger than it looks from the outside, as the dining area extends way back, and there are little nooks and alcoves along the side where people can eat. Despite its size and amount of people, we were able to carry on a conversation easily. We enjoyed the option of being able to create our own pasta by selecting the type of pasta (about 8 different types) along with choosing the accompanying sauce (also about 8 different choices). The eggplant Parmesan was especially delicious. The service was great and the prices were moderate. Would love to go back some day!

Lovely restaurant, cool decor and very friendly staff. To start we shared arancini, garlic bread and calamari. The starters are huge and it does state on menu serves 2 each. The arancini were very tasty, nice crispy exterior with a melty cheesy inside. The garlic bread was also a hit. My main was a little disappointing. The parmesean chicken just a bit lacking in flavour. My friend had the carbonara, best ive ever tasted!

The food was disgusting. Prices way to high for the food quality. We ordered lasagna and pizza and both tasted really bad. We had to leave still hungry…

My wife and family friends just ordered take out from this restaurant, please see attached pictures. We spent over $100 for for 4 dinners. These pictures represent the quality of food we received. The first picture is our order of Garlic bread. It was plain white bread, soft, cold, and no flavor. The bruschetta looks as it appeared in our take out bag. There was basalmic to add but you can see that not even a topping could have made that a good Italian appetizer or meal. The dinner salad with a tiny chicken breast added for $5 was the size of a side salad and not worth the $15 price tag. I see a lot of good reviews on here for this restaurant so I assume it is good when on location but I wouldn't order take out unless you want to feel taken advantage of.

This is our first day in San Diego and headed to Little Italy area for dinner. Did a quick search for places to have dinner and walked by a few checking out the menu. Mimmo's did come up as a recommended restaurant and after looking at the menu we decided to try it. We sat outside and the sun was just going down so it was in our eyes for about 10 to 15 minutes which was not bad. Started with the Charcuterie board which was amazing. Four different cheeses, three meats, nuts, fruit etc. I was well worth the $21.00 dollars and to honest is almost a meal in itself. We ended up each ordering a dinner even though we should have shared after the board. Hubby had the eggplant parmesan and I had the pescatore. Both were very very good. Had enough left over to have tomorrow for lunch. I would recommend this restaurant in a heart beat! I also hear that on Wednesday's they have bottles of wine at half price, may have to go back again before we leave.

Our main meals were superb, very flavourful and well presented. I had the carbonara, very tasty sauce and the fresh pasta was so delicious. The meals were huge and neither of us could finish ours, so no room for dessert. Good service. We left feeling very full and happy.

Recommend reservations, restaurants in Little Italy usually busy, especially weekends; definitely on Comic Con weekend. Parking is limited. We sat outside to enjoy dinner and People watch. The food Italian with a variation on the usual choices, never-the-less good. Serving sizes were large. Service was a little slow attributable to being Friday night of Comic Con weekend however did not affect our enjoyment of the restaurant. Our server was helpful and friendly. Alcoholic beverages are limited to wine, beer and hard cider.

I met up with long time friends. And they took me here for lunch. The place was busy but we were seated pretty quickly. The food was great. I had the lasagna. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful.

This was our first time in Little Italy. I spent a lot of time researching restaurants and looking at menus. I decided on Mimmo's and we went on a Tuesday night. The parking was a struggle, but I guess that's to be expected in that area. We had a reservation to dine inside so we were given a table immediately (it wasn't busy inside). The place was so quaint and lovely. We waited no time at all for drinks and bread and our food came out quickly as well. The staff was at our table often refilling glasses and checking on us. I can't think of a thing that could've been better. The food (lasagna and Baked Ziti & Sausage) were both delicious but I could've filled up on the warm bread with dipping oil. The portions were so large we both took doggie bags. I would definitely visit Mimmo's again if/when I visit San Diego again.

My family was walking by Mimmo's in Little Italy this week. It smelled amazing. So we decided we had to eat here. We were not disappointed. We had Beef and Pork Baked Lasagna and Cheese Baked Lasagna. They were both amazing. We also had a Cannoli and Tiramisu. Best Tiramisu we ever had. Service was wonderful. I would strongly recommend going to Mimmo's. Next time I am in San Diego I will definitely make a point to go there again.

Great place to eat. The Parmesan chicken pasta was so large that my wife and I had to split it. Their gelato is comparable to the gelato in Rome Italy. Will eat here again

Had a great Mother’s Day lunch here for my wife. Passed this place a hundred times and never thought to stop in. Glad we did, not only was the food and service great, the prices were very reasonable for A Little Italy restaurant. Definitely coming here again. Share the dishes so you can try more things.

I have had better Italian before. Its good for like not cheap eats but decent price food I guess. The pizza was ... decent. Bruschetta was way to over done with balsamic. I thought it would have reminded me of home (Bari Italy) but it was a let down.

Due to having passed the lunch team we only managed to get this one in Little Italy for lunch. We ordered pasta with eggplant and spicy sauce.

Tried this place based on pics, reviews and recommendation. I got Chicken Parm entree to go and price for portion received didn't satisfy enough for a return visit. Delicious and wouldn't discourage anyone from trying.

This spot is in a great location, with a fun vibe. The food is really good, and the service is perfect. I completely loved the bread and oil beforehand.
Dined Al Fresco, Magnifico
We went to Little Italy because I love Italian food. Mimmo’s didn’t disappoint. We enjoyed our lunch al fresco. My husband had the special of chicken carbonara and I had chicken fettuccini alfredo. The portions were substantial and the sauces were creamy good. We didn’t feel rushed and when we asked to move to a table that was more in the sun they moved us without any hesitation. Being that it was outdoors there was all kinds of people walking by. One woman walked up to the hostess and just began yelling at her. As another patron said she handled it like a champ. It was quite impressive. She didn’t act like it bothered her and just kept things moving so those of use enjoying their meal could do just that. Mimmo’s was a bit $$ but the food and atmosphere took away that bit of sting.
