Mezcal, Tequila, & Tacos ~ Say No More!

By PapaK60 |

If you haven't had a chance to spend the day at the Ponce City Market ~ do. And if you like Mexican with a twist and dozens of mezcal and tequilas to choose from to accompany your cold draft... then Minero is the place for you. Regardless of what you order for appetizers or entrees... finish with a couple of bags of churros and chocolate sause ~ you won't be disappointed. You can eat inside or outside... outside was fabulous!

Flavor Piled Upon Flavor

By Bill R |

We had lunch here yesterday and we were bowled over by the intense flavors and the outstanding service. As we walked through the restaurant we just knew from the smells that we were in for a treat and we were not disappointed. We started with chips and salsa which seems pretty common but the salsas (3) were exceptional. I've never had such a fresh tasting green salsa and the one made with squash and smoked hot peppers was so good I could eat a bucket of it. It's slightly sweet, smokey & a little hot all at the same time. I had the pork sandwich special which had a slaw on the bun and fresh avocado and loved every bite. Barb had a couple of tacos and I tasted them and they were flavor bombs, intense flavors that enhanced the main ingredients. We rarely have dessert but we decided on the churros with dipping chocolate and they were to die for. Do not pass them up. Our server, Shawn, was terrific and all the other staff we came into contact with were excellent.

I May Give It A Second Chance But… Not on a Friday Night!

Great at 1st. Bland guac. Chicken tacos cold. Waitress Jessica was great. Mentioned cold tacos to a server, no response

Kevin rocked!

authentic Mexican

By Constance O |

We loved our food here and the experience. It was busy at 2pm on Tuesday! Our hostess and server were both super friendly and polite. We had the chilaquiles and pork carnitas platter. The chilaquiles were AMAZING. A huge plate with tons of flavors and textures. The carnitas had very well cooked pork, but the whole plate didn't work great. The beans and rice plus tortillas were a little dry even with the avocado. I would have loved some sauce or extra limes to add. Overall, the food was great and the atmosphere really fun.

Mini Tacos at Mineros

By isabill |

Riding bikes on the Beltline one afternoon, my friend and decided to try Mineros at Ponce City Market. We wanted a small lunch and their menu looked appealing. The decor is very clever with a gray and orange urban chic palette. There is plenty of seating inside and out. Our server was friendly and knew the menu well. My friend and I decided to get two tacos each - I ordered the fish taco and a chicken one, and she got a chicken and a pork one. The food came out promptly and on a single platter to serve onto smaller plates. We both enjoyed our tacos very much. Plenty of cilantro, and the chicken tacos had the right amount of heat. The value ($4 for each small taco) was OK, given that thi$ i$ Ponce City Market. :) I would definitely return here if visiting PCM.

Eh, definitely not driving over to ATL to just eat here

By Stix4848 |

So we were in ATL for a concert and the following day decided to venture out into the city before driving home. We were looking for new places to visit and come across Ponce City Market. Off we went. Being we were starving we headed straight to the food hall. So many choices it was hard to pick any one thing. Being we are both junkies for good Mexican food we decided on Minero. I can't say it was horrible as it wasn't but I was just not impressed. We order the chips and salsa to start. The chips were good, hot and very thick. The salsa wasn't anything special and it was served in very small bowls. In fact the bowl is so small a regular spoon overwhelmed the bowl therefore the restaurant goes ahead and sticks a small ice cream sample size spoon in the bowl so one can spoon the drop of salsa onto the chip. The chips are large and the salsa cup very small so maybe a whole chip wouldn't fit. I order two tacos one Al Pastor-grilled pork, onion, pineapple and avacado, second taco being the Roasted Shrimp-cucumber, jicama slaw and salsa morita. Probably out of the two tacos the shrimp was my favorite. The tacos here are small so if you are not ordering an appetizer and you are hungry. You will definitely need to order more than two tacos. The service here isn't the best as I had a terrible time trying to get another diet coke and request a second beer for my fiancé. So we just finished our water paid the check and left. The restaurant wasn't overly crowded for a rainy Saturday so not sure why it was so hard to get server to stop back by the table after the food had arrived. As large as ATL is I'm sure there are many other Mexican options available. With that, I doubt we venture back to Minero.

Taco, taco, taco....

By Diane G |

This is not your "usual" Tex Mex restaurant, and it is more a Mexican style taquiera. It is in Ponce City Market, and you can sit inside or outside in the courtyard area. The decor is nice and the service the day we were there was very good! We tried a selection of the tacos and shared them for lunch. Enjoyed all of them!! We will definitely return next time we are in the area.

Great time and loved the food.

By Jason B |

My wife and I found ourselves at Ponce City Market and decided this was the style food we wanted. Great choice. All our food was hot and fresh, and the cocktails were lively as well. Not the cheapest place to take a date but we'll worth what you spend. The patio is spacious and the service was spot on.?

Great But Not Perfect

By chefluee |

Tried this place again and really liked it.....but not quite as great as their Charleston sister restaurant. We picked the Fundido with Chorizo, the Mula, Carolina Gold Arroz Rjo, and the Rancho Gordo Heirloom Beans....way too much food. The Queso Fundido was a bit over cooked. It could have served not so crunchy and it would have been tops. The Mula was quite interesting. I didn't think I would like it but humored my spouse. It consisted of yellow squash, zucchini, onions, cilantro queso of a grilled benne tortilla. It was huge and the tastes melded together perfectly. The rice and beans were awesome. Both had a little kick which made it some of the best around. Just wish my main pick...the Queso Fundido with Chorizo would have been tops. Service was great. Will definitely return.

Nice Casual Lunch

By MRM1655 |

We enjoyed a relaxing lunch at Minero before heading to the airport. We were seated outdoors, and service was friendly and attentive. The food was fresh and tasty. Portions weren't huge, which I view a a plus. Too many places trade off quality for quantity. Minero gets the balance right.

True Mexican

I lived in Mexico for a couple of years, and it's difficult to find good Mexican food. This place has amazing tacos and guacamole!!!! Highly recommended

OK Tacos

By Halkidis |

Ponce City Market is a great place and offers several different options, if you are hungry. We decided to have a lunch in Minero's outside patio. Tacos weren't the best I've had, but still good. Beer was cold and service OK too.

Save your $$$

By Sunny H |

Very disappointing! I've never been to a Mexican restaurant where you have to pay $$ for chips (that were so hard I almost broke a tooth on one) and 3 tiny bowls of salsa....and the guacamole? OMG $12.75 for a small bowl? The chicken and rice was ok but the margarita was bitter. And the music was way too loud...I wish we had requested a table outside...it might have been easier to talk to my husband across the table.

So, so good!

By Jenelle634 |

We're regulars at Minero. From their delicious guac & chips to the enormously amazing burritos & chilaquiles, this place doesn't disappoint and neither do the prices.

Pleasant surprise in the Ponce City Market

By Atlg8tor |

My date and I decided to try Minero on a trip to the Ponce Market. I was impressed from the beginning with the chips and guac ( addictive and tasty ). I had the beef platter and my date had a fish taco and chicken taco. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful...will go back!

Meh...Mexican food!

By Gabriela M |

This place is ok. The food is good enough, but very greasy and with lots of cheese and oil. The dishes are not traditional Mexican cuisine by any means; rather, it's Neo-Mexican-American fare for the hipster palette. The chips and salsa were "mas o menos" meaning "so so." The salsa, (three different types) were quite tasty, but the chips were a bit too fried (maybe they were double fried, or triple fried, or fried in old grease), they were hard and crunchy and with a slight burnt taste). The Mula is good (if you are not lactose intolerant and you don't mind dripping oil), it's like a mini quesadilla with sweet potatoes and mushrooms (but drenched in oily cheese). I asked for mine without cheese, and I thought it was a joke when it came with EXTRA cheese. My mother-in-law ate it, and loved it, though she didn't really like the burrito she ordered. I tried her burrito and thought it was just ok. The ingredients tasted fresh, the beans were fresh, the queso fresco, but it too was greasy and dripping with oil and butter. It was good-enough, but it wasn't life-changing, or worth the 20 minute wait for a table. The one good thing about the food here is that it tasted fresh. It does feel like they use fresh, clean ingredients. Our server was nice enough, but she seemed overwhelmed, or annoyed, or something. Our food came out in a timely manner. There aren't very good vegetarian options except for the Burrito and the Mula. We got a side of the pickles and it literally was a side of the most basic picked vegetables that come (FOR FREE) at any other Mexican restaurant; however at Minero, a tiny plate of pickled veggies (most of which are jalapeños) is $3. The food is overpriced and overrated. Guisados and Tinga have some of the best tacos I've tasted, both Los Angeles establishments with authentic Mexican cuisine, at $2-$3 a taco at Guisados (fresh corn tortillas made right in front of your face), a million vegetarian options and the best fish tacos I've ever tasted, makes all other Mexican restaurants have a lot to live up to. Minero does not live up to authentic Mexican cuisine, it is just another hype spot at the PCM mall like many of the other tourist traps here. The ginger beer (actual beer with a hint of ginger), was the most memorable part of our meal (but this beer- brewed right here in Atlanta, can likely be bought at liquor stores and markets all over the city)! Minero also sells "Mexican Cola" meaning it's served in a glass bottle (an excuse for no refills), and made with "actual sugar" versus corn syrup (that's how they market it); and they have Jarritos, a cheap Mexican soda brand (sugar bombs) that is really trying to establish itself in the US. They don't have a bathroom; they share the bathroom with all the other PCM restaurants and stores. The environment is cool enough. Though convenient-- right downstairs from our apartment in The Flats-- I don't think we'll be eating here again, or at least--not anytime soon.

Fantastic!

By Generals36 |

First thing to note - it is "Minero" not "Mineros". Hopefully TripAdvisor can correct this so that viewers can actually find the Atlanta location of Minero on here. We dined twice at the original location in Charleston and we're excited to give the Ponce City Market location a try. It did not disappoint. The quality of the food and the service was on par with the original and met our high expectations. Eat outside if the weather is nice.

Outdoor seating is the best thing

By Alyssa J |

I'm going to start with the good: The outdoor seating offered is nice. The drinks were awful. The food even worse. Just don't. This is located in the spot de jour so you'll see people there, but the food they will not be enjoying.

Awesome Food!!!

Awesome Food!!! Stopped by to get some guacamole and chips and some fish tacos and was not disappointed.

Fun place

By Marjolein S |

We visited the Ponce market on a busy Saturday afternoon recently. There are many dining options and we were in the mood for Mexican. We ended up at Minero, we were told the ait was about 40 minutes for an inside table. Lucky for us, we were seated after only a 10 minute wait. The food was great, although a bit salty for our taste. Service was quick and friendly. We will definitely be back for more,

Great Visit on Monday night in February

By Sean K |

Take every reveiw with a grain of salt right?! Despite the most recent we figured we would give this restaurant a try due to its outdoor patio...We went on a off night, so it seems that we may be benefiting from the lack of crowds... but the guac and tacos were amazing... The Charcoal Chicken had a zing to them, beware, but we loved it... The Cauliflower and Pastor were even better... Great service, and we really enjoyed ourselves... When we were leaving we grabbed some to-go canned cocktails, and while good, they left a hole in our wallet... still worth the splurge...

Terrible food with rude staff

By islandcpl |

We ate at Minero over the weekend and it was the worst Mexican restaurant I have ever been to. The taco's came with chicken only and it was .50 cents for lettuce (yes you read that correctly) and $1 for sour cream for a TACO!!!!!! The waitress was extremely rude (piercing in her nose) and I will never go here again!!

Food with Flavor

By LindaNichols63 |

We had a delicious lunch. The fire grilled wings were wonderful and are just as good cold the next day. My husband tried a steak taco and my daughter and I shared the grilled chicken breast. The molé was super on the chicken. The portions were small and unless you eat like a bird sharing might leave you hungry.

Minero Food Court Style

By IGNDJ |

I've tried the Minero restaurant in Charleston, SC and it is one of my places to eat every time we visit. The Atlanta Minero is more of a food court style restaurant as it is in a food court and the menu is limited. Also, you are dealing with Cooks rather than a Chef and his staff who take pride in their dishes. Also the Charleston Minero has an EXCELLENT Bar program and their Margaritas are out of this world. Actually, all their drinks are carefully crafted on the spot. I tried the same Tacos I always get, as well as the Margarita. Although the food was tasty, one could tell it had been mass-produced and sitting for a while. The beef was dry and barely warm the Cauliflower Taco was cold. The Margarita was a disappointment. Perhaps had been pre mixed/pre made to offset the small bar and novice bar tenders. We were eating around 1PM and the place was full. It is hard to understand why the food would be dried and cold and the margarita poorly made. Will try it again as their soft tortillas are the best I've ever had on Tacos.

Not-Quite-Perfect Brunch

By ATL_Jacket |

I recently swung by Minero for a great Latin Sunday brunch. The food and drinks tasted really good, but the whole experience was rough around the edges. I paid $5 for the chips and salsa, which simply wasn't very good. The extremely-tasty chips came with 3 little dishes of salsa, only one of which was actually good. In addition, you just can't fit the chips into the tiny salsa containers, so the whole thing is kind of useless. My steak tacos, although dear at $4.50 each, were the best tacos I've had in Atlanta. This is definitely where the action is at Minero. Buy these! My margarita was pretty great as well, but the bartender didn't ask about salt on the rim and I never got any. Overall, my food was extremely tasty, but I felt like I got bad value for my $28, including tax and tip. That bought chips and salsa, 2 tacos, and 1 drink. This is a really nice restaurant, but you do pay a premium.

The Guacamole is DELICIOUS!

By matthewdc123 |

Minero was amazing! Great tortillas, Delicious Guacamole, and incredible Carnitas! Everything had just the right amount of kick to it. Not too hot but just right every time. The pineapple on the taco al Pastor was a little too charred for me but it complimented the taco very well after I got past the char taste. It wasn't overwhelming by any means, I just wasn't expecting it. My wife got the burrito. It tasted great and everything in the burrito went well with one another the only downside was that she had ordered steak inside of it and there was very little steak and what amount there was it was all at the bottom of the burrito. Other then that the service, the atmosphere and everything about this place was 100% on point!

Fun eatery

By 63Kathyd |

Great little restaurant in Ponce City Market. You can sit inside or outside. Wait staff will help you in either place. We had an assortment of tacos, all were delicious and came out extremely fast. The margaritas were also wonderful? Will definitely be back!

Mexican Food at the highest level

By cburnssr |

Greetings. Let's begin with Shawn - our service person, hostess, greeter, culinary coordinator, and awesome person. Shawn is Five Star. Now for the meal. We enjoyed every bit of it. The guacamole, the salsa, the corn chips, the sauces (hot and not so hot) were all really well done. The burrito and chicken wings were sensational. The Ponce Center has one of the coolest "food courts" I have ever seen or experienced. Muy Bueno!!! Colin

Small Menu, Good Food

By 10LeagueBoots |

My friend and I tried Minero and Ponce City Market. The menu was amazingly small, but what we tried was good. We shared the Queso Fundido, Guacamole and the Charcoal Chicken Taco. The waiter told us that they are known for their Guacamole. It was really quite good, but I thought it tasted a little too much of lime juice. The Queso Fundido was what you would expect with rich cheese and plenty of Chorizo. The Charcoal Chicken Taco was fine, but miniscule. Nice place, but there are better places to get Mexican and better places to eat at PCM.

Gourmet Mexican

By Jeanette W |

Awesome fresh ingredients that I have not tasted outside of Mexico. Try a burrito or chilaquiles if you are gluten free.

Best Mexican food and Wings EVER

By Flannery_Columbus |

Fresh, creative, amazing Mexican food. Definitely get the wings and churros if you have room. If we had been in town longer we would've returned for a second meal.

Great Food... and Drinks

By IverJohnson |

My wife and I were shopping at Ponce City Market and decided to try Minero for lunch. We had the salsa sample with chips to start and I was really great. Three different salsa's with tasty chips. Then we ordered Tacos al Pastor and a Pork Burrito. That burrito was absolutely the best one I have ever had in any restaurant. Everything turned out just right and it was a really good lunch. And all for a good price.

Lunch

By Dina H |

We had a fun delicious lunch at Minero. We hadn't heard of it so we were apprehensive at first but we were pleasantly surprised at how delicious everything was. Service was excellent too.

Where has service gone?

By Dixiegal2 |

The food we ordered was satisfactory but the response of management was not. I ordered a chopped salad, which was listed on the menu as a Chopped Salad. When it arrived there were chunks of iceburg lettuce in a bowl, which was topped with slices of tomato, avocado, egg, radish, etc. None of it was mixed together or chopped. When I told manager TheAnna Garcia that I did not get the chopped salad I order, her response was that was their way of servicing it and I had a knife. Needless to say we will not be returning.

Good place for casual dinner

By Richard R |

My wife and I had dinner here last night with our son. We are from out of town and wanted to see prince city market. We highly recommend going here. It is a very cool and vibrant place even on a Sunday night. My son wanted to try minero. This is a very casual restaurant but the food and the service was very good. It is a little pricey for what you get.

Authentic Mexican!

By Dan Paschal |

If you want the "real deal", try Minero. Homemade fresh chips, three salsas, and a great variety of wonderful and authentic food are the pancultural offerings. Our server was very friendly, helpful and dead on with recommendations. The manager spoke to us as we left and shared his vision of authentic food (with lots of local fresh foods in the mix)...very impressive. Try it soon...you won't be disappointed.

One of the Best and Most Interesting Mexican Menus in the ATL

By 87vette |

Great Location, Great Parking, Friendly Staff and most important excellent food. Tacos are superior, but even better were the Carnitas! This Restaurant, with menu choices is not typical Atlanta, more like California. Pick your meal time carefully as can get crowded. Located in Ponce City Market, loads to do before or after your meals, amazing!

Atlanta Outpost of Charleston Restaurant

By GPBurdell67 |

My first visit to Ponce City Market led to lunch at Minero in the Food Court. Indoor and outdoor seating is available in this imaginative redevelopment of the old Sears store and catalog center. Minero had been open only a few weeks and it showed. We had to wait about 20 minutes on a busy Friday afternoon because (they said) there was not enough wait staff to service all tables. Our server (Shawn) was energetic and knowledgeable. We ordered a starter of chips (very good) and salsa (3 kinds: pumpkin!, verde and ancho). All the salsas were quite flavorful. The chips arrived in a pouch to keep them warm; that's a new approach. Maybe that justifies the $4 tab. I ordered two soft tacos (al pastor and chicken). Both were good, albeit a little on the small side. I've had better in Atlanta. Prices are on the high side but not crazy. I'd come back.

Hot spicy

By serge0920 |

Really good food and excellent guacomole and margarita. Margarita good size and excellent taste. Their guacamole is the best, fresh and with tasty cilantro. The steak plate was really really tasty hot. Recommend it

Guacamole!

By Suzanna Lynne |

The guacamole is served with a bag of chips that's kept warm by a little oven mitt. The chips were nice and crunchy and the guacamole had really great flavor. Following the appetizer, we had Tacos - One steak and one chargrilled chicken. They were loaded with lots of flavorful ingredients, and were on the spicy side. The portions at first glance seemed small, but we were full and satisfied in the end, and had shared the appetizer. Great service!

Delicious!

By Aopie |

We go here all the time! Such a consistently delicious restaurant. Drinks are great, vibe is casual and cool, and food is always satisfying. It’s one of our go-to’s in the neighborhood! Love that they add dishes with the seasons.

Good burritos, service Ok

By MaryRosaura |

I visited this restaurant while at Ponce Marketplace in Atlanta, waited a while for service, very slow but I have to say I loved the Burrito, I am not a fun of Burritos but was told I had to try it, I am glad I did, it was delicious. Love the way they add a layer of cheese to the tortilla. The menu is limited.

Best tortillas anywhere

By DesnaDC |

The tortillas are made fresh, on site, every day. The food is delicious. Try the Queso Fundido, but share it so you have room for the Minero Burrito.

Lunch

Best burrito I've had in my life. Definitely would go again. Service was also reeally great! Recommend 100%!!!

Delicious, fresh tasting food!

By Morgan Rundquist |

We stopped here while visiting Ponce City Market and were so impressed! We ordered chips and salsa with a side of guacamole for an appetizer. They brought us out three different salsas which were awesome. I love it when restaurants give you a variety of salsas to try! The chips were delicious also and freshly made. I ordered the burrito bowl with chicken and my husband ordered the burrito with steak. The ingredients tasted really fresh. It was so delicious! I would totally recommend!

Excellent Mecican food

By Ram K |

This is one of the best Mexican restaurants I have been to. They have another one in Charleston SC and we ended up dining there too. Both restaurants are excellent and dine there if you get s chance.

Food was fantastic. Hostess was unfriendly

By Amy S |

Food was fantastic. Hostess was very unfriendly. She sat us at a ticket table despite there being almost no one there. Server took my plate while I was literally still holding my taco. Food was still pretty fantastic. Don’t go for the service.

Left feeling disappointed

By Mary C |

We are GA locals who had never been to Ponce City Market and were accompanied by out of town guests on a quiet Tuesday afternoon. The wait staff was less than helpful and treated us with a bit of urban disdain. Three of us (sitting spread out at a large table) who ordered individual tacos finally received them on one plate, the runner mumbled, did your server tell you this is how we do it? No...?! So we awkwardly messed up the nicely presented tacos to fit them onto appetizer plates we already had. The tacos were fresh and tasty, much smaller than a typical Mexican restaurant. We could have been advised to order more. The burrito was bland and the larger combo platter had tough, unchewable steak. Uncomplaining, we were generally ignored in the practically empty restaurant; no drink refills, slow check, etc. I realize that there can be a slip in service quality for a variety of reasons, but overall we left disappointed and did not feel that the food or atmosphere or value would warrant a return visit.

Good Food. Limited Menu.

By Jerry L |

This is a new and crowded hotspot at the Ponce City Market. We had to wait about 15 minutes for a table on a Saturday afternoon. We bided our time at the bar with interesting cocktails. Not a huge menu, but the tacos, guacamole, quest, etc., were all tasty. Sort of small, portions, but high-quality, fresh ingredients. We finished with hot churros dipped in thick chocolate sauce. Nice!

Tacos!

By sparrish5 |

A great indoor and outdoor environment. Lots of energy. I'd go with less meat and a little lower price for the same stuff. The tacos are as good as I have ever had.

Brilliant

By Sean R |

Great location, very lively area on a Saturday night. Nice IPA on tap - food and service were superb; they really got it right. We are planning to head back down later in the trip for round 2. Well done and keep it up - brilliant.

My Favorite Chicken Taco

By Kelseyrk |

Sean Brock is a genius. Great addition to Ponce City Market. Get the chicken taco you won't be disappointed. And don't miss the three salsas including an interesting and delicious benne seed salsa. I hear they have great drinks too!

Don't miss Minero

By Bigdawg74 |

Seriously, this place is fantastic. Great cocktails and meals that leave you wanting more. You can literally taste the fresh ingredients. Absolutely my favorite place at PCM. So fresh. So great. I love it.

Fun lunch, great service!

By kdw20152015 |

This was our first time in and we are so pleased! The atmosphere is super upbeat and fun and the drink menu makes it even better. Shawn was such a fantastic server and made our experience so personal, she offered fun menu items to try and did a great job with suggestions. We can't wait to come back!

RUN, don't walk to Minero's!

By Mike V |

Minero's is an outpost of famed chef Sean Brock (Husk in Charleston and Nashvile, the original Mineros in Charleston). It's "Mexican Tapas" - with three- bite-size tacos in 6 versions, some of the best guac that will caress your palate and a margarita that's to die for. Our favorite tacos are the Al Pastor, Carnitas, Steak and Catfish. All are just a little spicy. A couple of other entrees and a fabulous tequila menu. The home-baked taco chips are unique and parfect with the aforementioned guacamole. No reservations, first-come first served. Casual ambiance with a great outdoor seating area in warm weather. 5 stars!

Upscale food court, service needs a little work

By bubble_scout |

Ponce City Market restaurants are basically upscale food courts. Inside seating was rather crowded on a Monday night, so we sat outside since it was warm. I wish I could give this 3.5 stars, since it wasn't quite 4 but 3 seems inaccurate. The food is good. The margarita was lovely (and you can have a "go cup" if you're staying on the premises), the fish taco and queso fundido were excellent. The chips and guacamole were not great; the chips were oversalted and there was so much lime in the guacamole that you could taste nothing else. But the issue here is the service. There were no menus on our table and the host did not check this when she seated us; I had to go and find some on another empty table. The chips and guac arrived long after the queso fundido, about the same time as our entrees. A food runner brought food that was not ours, but seemed to not believe that it really wasn't our food; we had to convince her. Our server was perhaps a bit overworked (not sure how many inside tables she had) but there was no offer of another margarita long after the glass was empty. A manager noticed me holding my empty glass and immediately took care of it. Overall, just a bit uneven. Maybe it's the newness of the place.

Good food

By wrb32018 |

Great tacos. Love the soft corn tortillas. Not your typical mexican place. Give it a try. My wife also thought the guacamole was on point.

Great mix of authenticity and creativity

By RHL |

I've eaten here a couple times on my visits to the ATL. The service is fast and impeccable. The bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable and they feature a great curated tequila and spirits selection. Great rums, bourbons and cordials but tequila/mezcal is their thing clearly. The food is tasty and features unique flavor combinations. The chicken wings that are dusted with a flavor rub in a bag at your table may be the best I've had anywhere.

Refreshingly original take on the familiar, excellent bartender, excellent service

By Roger C |

It's always refreshing to encounter a spot where, when the place is full and everyone's busy, the staff quickly and competently get everything done and make every customer happy, without getting frantic (of course, we couldn't hear the kitchen, where frantic coupled with colorful language is the usual MO), and looking like they're having a great time doing what they do. This is, as anyone who has ever been by knows, a great spot to sit on the sidelines for a while at PCM. No, it's not quiet inside, but you can carry on a normal conversation. They have a outdoor terrace in the central courtyard, but it was too darn hot for us to try to endure. We were there for a 2:00 pm lunch over the July 4th weekend. The place was full, but turning over, so we were soon seated. Service throughout our visit was professional and attentive, but not hovering (naturally, since she had to be 16 places at once). Had a special margarita and a Titan, both very refreshing (I like being refreshed). Had guacamole with a fish taco and a carnitas taco. Both tacos were very tasty, with a little zing but no surprising throat fire. Guacamole was cool, fresh and honest, not an off-the-wall standout, but just damn good guacamole. Everything they do, their quality handcrafted food, their top-flight bar and their professional service say: we care about what we're doing. So what can I say? Quite refreshing.

Gross/fake Mexican food

By dwalker9679 |

This place was terrible. The fish tacos were like oil soaked sponges. Everything else was also very oily.

Great flavors and well executed

By f s |

I completely understand some of the comments regarding value. If your going to compare Minero to a taqueria stand, your going to leave disappointed. However, if you recognize that the ingredients are premium then you'll quickly realize the prices are fair for what you are served. We enjoyed the salsa sampler and chicken wings to start. Great flavors and perfectly cooked. The carnitas was dressed up, explaining some of the cost. It's a little ironic considering carnitas is considered street food. Don't eat here if your expecting Taco Bell prices. We were rushed for time needing to get across town. Our server ensured we were taken care of and left with time to spare. Great service!

We stopped by for lunch on a Sunday after walking the Beltline and immediately got a seat at the bar. The menu is small but interesting and I was surprised, but happy, that the only burrito on the menu is a vegetarian burrito. It was delicious - the best burrito I recall ever having. It is quite large so I took it home and heated it up later. Next time I would share it as it was much better fresh and I was disappointed with the warmed up version. We also had the chips and salsa trio which was quite good. My husband had two tacos and said they were good. We will definitely come back.

Criminal management

By Puru G |

On December 7 2020, my friend and I decided to try out Minero for the first time. During the first 5 minutes of us sitting down, one of the servers dropped Salsa on the ground and it splattered all over my friend's shoe. We tried to clean the stain off her brand new white sneakers and the staff helped us out. The manager that night informed us that the General Manager would be calling us or emailing us the next day with some sort of solution. Almost a week goes by and we did not hear anything, therefore, I decided to reach out to management myself. Alexandria contacted me back via e-mail and asked if we took the shoe to the dry cleaner. Unfortunately, she had thrown the shoe away and it was not in our possession. Alexandria then called me and we spoke briefly; she began to press me about the incident and asked if he had "photographic evidence" to justify what had happened. She then made a false claim that "the manager that night tried to get a photo, however, he was not allowed to do so". I pushed back and suggested that she look back at the video and it should show her clearly that the salsa had landed near our table and then the staff handed us wet rags to clean her shoe. I usually don't write reviews, however, as a previous owner of a restaurant myself, I am appalled by this behavior. Managers like Alexandria have no business in the hospitality industry and have some learning to do. She tried to justify the severity of a claim and wanted "photographic evidence" to determine whether my friend throwing the shoe away was "justifiable" according to her. Alexandria basically wanted to set the standard on what someone else chose to do with their shoe after an employee of a restaurant spilled salsa on them. My ask was simple, just reimburse us for the cost of the shoe (Less than $100). We even spent $35 that night and paid for our meal without causing a scene or getting upset. This was the perfect opportunity for a manager to step up and do the right thing. Alexandria then responded that "without photographic evidence, the best we can do is provide you with a Minero gift card". I asked her, "Well, will the gift-card be equal to the value of the shoe ? " -To which she responds "No". I then ask her "So, just to confirm, you are not going to provide a gift-card equivalent to the value of the shoe and instead assign an arbitrary value that you decide is appropriate ? " -Her response "Yes, exactly" - I went to Minero to get my $20 gift card and wrote the management group an email, no response from them. _______________________________ The sad thing is, the food was wonderful and the staff was great as well. Mistakes happen and we are all humans, however, it is management's responsibility to address these issues appropriately and Alexandria Rogers completely dropped the ball on this issue

Lunch break on the belt line

By bootlegger4 |

Great service and lively lunch crowd! We went to PCM mid week for lunch and with so many choices, we decided we were in the mood for margaritas and picked MINERO (there is no S) The drinks were so good, we had 2! The chips and guac are not to be missed. I had a pulled pork taco and a chicken taco, my friend had chicken and steak taco. I could have ordered anything on the menu, it all looked amazing. Best corn tortilla I have ever had. I would like to say i will be back, but i need to try so many other delish looking places at PCM it might be awhile before i make it back to this spot. Tables were a bit small and close enough to hear your neighbor, so not a great place for a first date or a crying baby :)

Great drinks!

Homemade ingredients for the suggested cocktails. Small but great food menu. Everything was so good,

Great Mexican

By TransATL |

Try the tacos -- all of them! They are quite small so I would suggest ordering 3 per person for dinner. I also like the guacamole. The tortilla chips have a heavier quality with a good corn flavor. This place can get crowded at times, so be patient. Service is always excellent and the location inside PCM is fantastic.

Tantalizingly Great!

By Rhonda B |

The fresh foods with the bold taste are absolutly amazing. I tried a little of everything but the burrito was one of my favs. The huge packed with goodness and crispy outside was the best part.

Food good, service not so much

By Wiinnkky |

A little pricey, food good and definitely a step up from the usual Mexican fare. But a good 20 minutes between my nieces meals and ours. Not sure why ...

Memorable or average, time will tell

By William T |

We popped into Minero in the new Ponce City Market after it had only been open two days. The space is slick and well designed and shortly after we arrived it was bustling with energy. Shaun was our waitress and she was terrific – friendly, well-trained and patient in answering our questions about menu items and ingredients. What is Valentina, explain the Chilaquiles, what is benne salsa, is it spicy? This isn’t a menu that really offers entrees. Billed as street food, think of it more along the line of tapas served family style that you share, although the Minero Burrito, Chilaquiles, Grilled Chicken Wings and Queso Fundido could be enjoyed by oneself. The tacos are a flat 4” disc made in house and are well crafted with interesting flavor combinations, several of which use pickled ingredients like red onion and green tomato. There are also three side items and a single dessert of churros with Mexican chocolate sauce. If you like knowing where your food is sourced, you’ll love the story on the back of the menu about where they source their corn in Mexico to make tacos and tortillas. For now 3 stars will have to do but it’s really closer to 3½ stars. Overall, the food was good, but it’s too early to say if it’s memorable without repeat visits. My first impression was that portions were small for the price and you could leave hungry. Our bill was just north of $40 for three of us. We each had three items, plus shared a chips and salsas with water to drink since Minero was still waiting on their liquor license. However, a peek at a drink menu promises a nice program of cocktails and margaritas when it arrives. Note: Liquor is now being served.

Great Margaritas

By Sarbk |

The drinks here are amazing, and it is especially nice to be able to get margaritas to go. I was a little disappointed they will not do take out food, it is dine in only, which is difficult due to the limited amount of seating. The patio is large, but on a hot day, may not be the best option.

Ok mexican

By nuyu2013 |

Not great but just ok- the fish tacos were so so as was the rest of the food. Not very authentic and overpriced. Service was not great either.

Real deal

By Flyfish55 |

If you want great edgy Mexican food this is it. Sean Brock has an incredible passion for excellence. He's set his sights on the perfect tortilla, and goes to great lengths to achieve it. The results of his efforts at Minero's are bold flavors and authentic Mexican dishes w great balance. Wings w a bag are a must try. We were a group of six, all of us are in the restaurant business and after ordering almost everything on the menu we couldn't have been more pleased. Margaritas were excellent. Ponce Market is a great place to bide your time while you wait for a table. The staff at Minero's was very friendly. Shawn our server was the bomb. Can't wait to go back.

Eh, it was too loud (then I guess I'm too old)

By dotters |

Too expensive and pretentious. Certainly not the Mexican food I'm used to. The place was very crowded and so noisy. The food was average and expensive for what it was.

Always Good

By kendellbrink |

Have enjoyed Minero in Charleston,SC, and was equally satisfied at the Ponce City Market location. Indoor and covered outdoor dining is available. Service is good. The house made chips are crispy and the salsas tangy and delicious. The charcoal chicken wings are always well-seasoned. My husband makes a bag a meal! Portion size is huge-sharing is great or take home lunch for another day.

best I’ve ever had

By Shelby R |

Quite honestly the best queso I’ve ever had - get the queso ranchero, you won’t regret it. Also, the pork carnitas taco is in the running for the best I’ve ever had as well. This is not a drill!! We will be back for sure.

Tacos were weird

By fluffycookiela |

We were at the Ponce City Market and we chose Minero when perusing different restaurants in the area. Once we got there, we were immediately sat inside. We got our waters and looking at the menu, we got the chips and queso. It was delicious. The chips were well seasoned and the queso came out very hot and was spicy. However, when we ordered our tacos, (I got the charcoal chicken tacos) they came out rather cold and it was covered with cilantro which just added nothing to the taco. Also it said it came with a spicy salsa on it which I could taste nowhere on the taco. The corn tortillas tasted fine but the red onions were very unevenly spread around the taco. Also I got this weird smell from the taco every time I went to take a bite. The chicken was rather bland but if you dip your taco in the queso it is fine. Overall, the atmosphere and appetizers were great, but I would choose another option in the area if you are mainly going there for the food.

Never again

By Calvin F |

The service was extremely slow, no they were not busy and they were properly staffed. I even asked, to be fair. After ordering drinks and salsa, we had to remind the server 3x, including an expediter that said she'd let the server know, over a 20 minute timeline. The chips and salsa were ok at best, after it came to the table. I'd prefer the the normal chips and salsa at your everyday Mexican joints. The taco plate I ordered was ok. The meat was more bland than expected. Asada and carnitas. The server forgot the rice and beans. After it arrived, I could see why. The rice was dry and plain. I've had better from a minute rice bag. The refried beans were dry and lacked flavor. The canned type, is literally better. I expected more from a restaurant in the Ponce Market not to mention for the prices. My friend and I were unimpressed and unanimously agreed to never return.

Greet eatery

By nlott414 |

Greet eatery. Th is location is inside the Ponce Market and to the right if you go through the doors next to Anthropology. I had the catfish tacos and charcoal chicken wings. I could have done with out the wings. The catfish tacos were great.

Great way to start out my ATL trip!

The food here was great! They have lovely Mexican sodas that are AMAZING! I got the burrito and it was big but very very good. There is outdoor seating and in a great location for shopping or walking around after

Taco time at Ponce City Market

By Lyn_Farmer |

Miners is a great taco stand with a fun bar in the heart of one of the city's food icons. They're are a lot of dining options at Ponce City Market. I always good Miners one of the most comfortable - an agreeable long bar, tables for dining and a great staff. The tacos are very good and include some local specialties like Catfish and there are full played available das well.

AMAZING Authentic Mexican

By BJAATL |

You have to try this place; it has it all. Fun new location in Atlanta. Affordable and fantastic flavor. James Beard Chef Sean Brock has created a cool and easy menu. Drinks are awesome. Our table almost sample entire menu. First, TORTILLAS and chips are incredible some of the best I have had; check out the website to find out why. Wings large and fresh. Chilaquiles a must. Queso Funded was biggest hit; simply a decadent pleasure. Burrito was least favorite. Margarita was fresh, strong and flavorful; salt in the mix. This will become an ATL maintstay.

My tacos were COLD

By Angie D |

Arrived to Minero around 5 pm, was greeted by a gentleman that welcomed me to sit were I pleased. I decided on the bar as it was empty. A bubbly bartender shot me a big smile to acknowledge my presence and I sat down. The menu is really short and to the point...TACOS. I selected the roasted Cauliflower and catfish. While I waited I was made a lovely REAL margarita on the rocks with ice. Two seconds in I was on course to CHILL Mode. Tacos came really fast and were visually appealing BUT they were COLD not warm not room temperature, COLD. Now I was on chill mode and hungry so I finished the first one in three bites, no lie it was good. Once I came up for air I spoke with my bubbly bartender and the other tacos were placed on the grill and heated up. Now I'm happy with my COLD drink and HOT food the way this story should end.

A Drink or Two or Three

By Keeley G |

Simply put this drink was amazing. The Estrellita is AMAZING. Thank you Maura for making the drinks! Be sure to ask for her.

Food good, service is slow

By shannon b |

The food was good- the burrito is huge! The cheese dip is creamy with a bit of peppers. The hibiscus tea is great- a bit of cinnamon for flavor. The chips were a bit greasy but not overwhelmingly so. The à la carte tacos are a great way to try several different things.

Very Good Mexican Food!

By soitgoes14 |

We stopped into PCM early Sunday (11:30am) to try to beat some of the crowds and we had no problem getting a table at Mineros. We did not try any of the cocktails but the cocktail list did look fun. We opted to order chips and salsa and we each got two tacos (al pastor/green chorizo and carnitas/green chorizo). The food arrived very quickly. Service throughout the meal was solid. The chips are good. They are thicker chips than most places in Atlanta serve. Portion wise the chips were perfect size for the two of us. They come with three styles of sauce. A traditional green verde, a hot sauce, and one that was a little in between. I enjoyed all three for what they were. The Chorizo taco was good but not my favorite of the two I had. I really enjoyed my carnitas taco and my girlfriend enjoyed the al pastor a lot. We both were very happy with the experience and look forward to returning soon to try other items.

Overpriced and underwhelmed

By Queen J |

We sought out this restaurant based on its rave reviews while visiting Atlanta. We were hunting for chilaquiles in particular, which was one of the favored items here. I don't understand why people think this is good Mexican food . . . I was not impressed. This is a large restaurant in the busy Ponce City Market shopping mall in downtown Atlanta. The restaurant was extremely busy, so the service was slow after our initial order was taken, and after we received our food, the waiter never checked back in. I wanted a soda refill, but could never flag anyone down. The seating indoor was so cramped, the waiters and other patrons brushed by us as they passed. All of the stools seemed to wobble. I switched stools three times before I just gave up. It was very loud inside, and the outdoor patio dining area looked more serene and spacious, but it was too hot day that day to be outside. The food prices were higher than the food merited. I thought it was a bit odd that chips and salsa were not complimentary in a Mexican restaurant. We were hungry from walking around town all morning, so we ordered them anyway, and received a pouch of chips and three salsa flavors for $6. I ordered the chilaquiles, which were the strangest chilaquiles I've ever eaten because they added red shredded pork, fried egg, sunny side up (?), and lots of cheap avocado spread (ew). Minero has a full bar, so I'm sure that, along with its strategic location, make this restaurant a popular choice. I, however, remain unimpressed.

Ponce City Market

By Matt Bird |

Minero is located in the amazing Ponce City Market of boutique shops and low key eateries. I ordered a margarita which was good (although in a plastic cup) and three tacos - pork, chicken and chorizo. The green chorizo was by far the best!

Real good lunch

By Dham5254 |

Went here on a rainy Saturday after putzing around the market for a bit. Started with the salsa trio and chips. So good. If I could have this everyday I would. Then we got the wings and if I were to think of best wings in Atlanta these would be in the conversation. We then got some tacos and they were all real good.

Nice lunch experience

By Lolita D |

Had lunch here with a friend last week. The weather was perfect to sit outdoors. The wait staff was excellent and service was quick. We had the yummy wings with the Valentina picante sauce. And the pork, chicken and fish tacos which were great too. The margarita was good but my Sangria was kinda watered down. But all in all, a nice experience.

Meh! I was expecting a lot better

By Joe S |

I went with my 4 adult kids and wife to try Mineros at Ponce City Market. I have visited and enjoyed the food from several other restaurants in the same complex before and was expecting for Mineros to be up to par with them. First, it took a while for our table to be ready and when we walked inside, there were plenty of open tables for 6 people. Once seated, the waiter showed up about 15 minutes later. That is 10 minutes beyond what is expected, but we stayed as she showed up right when I was going to ask everyone to go and have dinner somewhere else. Then the food: Excellent guacamole but that was it. The tacos and burritos lacked flavor. The were presented nicely and everything looked good but there was not too much taste to it. I was expecting some salsa to be served on the side to seasoned the food to taste, but the only type of seasoning were two bottles of the same Mexican hot sauce that you can buy commercially and your local grocery store. One of my kids had carnitas and he was pleased with it. The burritos are $10 and includes veggies, cheese and rice, then you have to order your meat and this is $3.00 extra which is understandable but my chicken burrito barely had any chicken and depended on the hot sauce for flavor. Our waitress was stretched too thin and never came to check on our table until the moment that the check was presented. This experience was very disappointing which will make me skip Mineros.

Capital YUM!

By Cindy P |

Great experience, wonderful, friendly staff. Great food presentation. Delicious and worth the trip. They have specialty cocktails, moderately prices for platters or get single tacos. The fried catfish taco was awesome.

No wonder we have an obesity epidemic

By leigh b |

Loud music so you can't hear people at your table is never a pleasant dining experience. Plus the food is so large and heavy with excess cheese that it's like cheating. What isn't good with fatty and fried foods. I challenge them to go leaner with the fat and calories and still keep the taste. Just kind of gross.

Wondeful food and service

By pelhamqueen |

While we had to wait awhile to get a table, it was well worth it. There were three of us and all our food was super tasty and worth the money.

Some promise, but ultimately falls flat as another overpriced place trying too hard

By AtlantaGuy J |

The positives: Great atmosphere in the restaurant, as well as Ponce City Market in general Lots of presence of managers at least putting forth effort to see if folks are happy The negatives: 1. Margaritas taste ok, but they pack the small highball glass so overflowing with giant ice cubes that you literally get 5 sips before your margarita's gone. (don't be so damned cheap, especially when your prices aren't!) 2. Menu is yet another in-town trendy place trying too hard to be different with weird options and ingredients...god forbid they try to just make some excellent tasting standard dishes in ways they're supposed to be made. Examples: Cilantro sprinkled all throughout their salad -- yuck! Weird slimy green avocado salad dressing...misses the mark in trying to be different. Multiple ingredients on the menu you'll have to google to even have a clue what they are (and not in a "good" unique way). Reminds me a bit of the original menu at Ladybird that they had to change because it was so odd. 3. Price is over the top for an average mexican restaurant. $4 per taco for tacos on 3 inch diameter tortilla, $15 for an "ok" burrito, $10 for greasy cheese dip...leads to a $60 lunch with one margarita 4. Servers have far too many tables...took forever to be acknowledged initially, took forever to get a drink, and couldn't find server to get bill. I'd be surprised if this place lasts if they don't make some changes. But, they were packed and I suppose there are plenty of people who like to pay a lot so they can feel trendy.

Nice stop for drinks and a bite while roaming PCM

By Joe L |

Spent this Saturday afternoon roaming around Ponce City Market. Stopped here for a real axing drink and a quick bite to each. Minero did the trick for both needs as we enjoyed our margaritas and queso fundido. The drinks came quick, the queso was excellent as the chorizo stood out. Service was very attentive. Thanks.

Amazingly GOOD

By Leonardo Z |

I'm Mexican and the food here is just something else!!! (Although is a different approach to Mexican flavor, I enjoyed it 110%). The BEST tequila list also, and I'm a tequila fan. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

It was ok!

By Nyujax522 |

The street tacos were yummy but the chilaquiles were weird. Way too spicy. The chips were covered in hot sauce to the point of being soggy. The “Michelada” version of the Tecate is the weirdest drink I’ve ever had. Try it if you’re adventurous but I will not be ordering this again. The chips and guacamole were delicious. Service was average. A little slow if you’re sitting outside. There are pros and cons to this place. Not bad but not great.

Delicious

By Jennifer H |

I've eaten at Minero several times and really enjoy it. Their chips and guacamole were so good I bought some to take home. Fresh, flavorful dishes, lively atmosphere, and I like the outdoor dining option.

Authentic Delicious Mexican FOOD!!!!

Love this place and have been back 3 times in one week. The food is absolute perfection in ones mouth and tummy. A definite stop on ones lunch or dinner list.

A nice place for an appetiser

By Jim K |

My friend and I sat at the bar on a busy Saturday for a lunch. While the dishes are interesting (and tacos are very small and pricey) the taste combinations were a bit off (at least to me). And I would not recommend having the Bloody Maria (their version of Bloody Mary), as it has a strange ingredient that totally misses the mark. (First one I hadn't finished in, uh, 35 years!) While I would not give Mineros a bad grade, I won't be in a hurry to go back soon.

It's good but pricy.

By Danainfranklin |

I don't mind paying $30 for two albeit delicious burritos with no cheese or sour cream but I do mind that salsa was not free. That's some BS.

A Pleasant Surprise

By 1073BB |

Ponce City Market was slammed at lunchtime on this August Sunday so we did not spend a lot of time figuring out which of the many ethnic meals we preferred—we simply looked at lines and picked the shortest. Our welcome here was immediate and warm but the ten-minute wait for an inside table was too long (our stomachs had just hit bottom) so we opted for its covered outdoor section despite the high heat and humidity. It’s nice to know, should you ever be in the same boat, that Minero is the only restaurant here that elected to install ceiling fans above its al fresco seating area. They made all the difference. It otherwise would have been unbearable. Also, outdoors is about the only place you can reliably find a chair with a back to it. Inside the giant food hall, most seating is on stools. What chairs there are often are “stolen” to use at other tables. Our waitress (in training) advised that tacos ($4) are their speciality but that each is standard street-food size and we should probably order two each. Not wanting the palaver, I chose The Burrito ($10), which was enormous, and would have been delicious with just the queso de Oaxaca, crema, hoppin’ john (beans and rice), avocado, and poblano. Wanting something a bit more filling, I added grilled steak ($3). What there was of it was very good. Charcoaled chicken and achiote pork were other add-on options. The “bun” was different from any I’ve had before: thick and soft, yet crispy on the outside. Really nice. My husband had the Torta del Dia ($9.50), which that day was pulled pork with a chili aioli (as much of the explanation as we could hear over the noise). It was decent sized (not as big as the burrito) and also very good. We shared a large-sized Tecate beer ($3), one of several on the list that were at least recognizable to us throwback-to-yesteryear drinkers. It was poured into stylishly tall, frosted mugs. A container on the table held napkins and cutlery—the real stuff, not plastic. The wait staff, two or three of them, checked back often to see if all was okay. I don’t as a rule enjoy PCM’s do-it-yourself approach to eating, the generally high prices, paying $1 per half-hour to park (a flat $10 over four hours)…or even Mexican food. (Why, you may well ask, were we here in the first place. We had driven the daughter of a close out-of-town friend who had just begun working in one of the food kiosks and wanted to share her enthusiasm.) But all in all, we quite enjoyed our lunch here, and Minero changed my opinion of Mexican food.

Stopped in for drinks

By aperry932 |

A group of six of us came here and just drank and hung out for about an hour. We had margaritas, tequila shots and tall boy Tecates. Drinks were a little pricey, but we enjoyed the atmosphere and received good service from the bar. Might try to have some appetizers or other food next time. Fun place.

Great chips and salsa and great salads. Also a good venue for eating outside at ponce city market. The sandwiches were ok, the corn side was fabulous.

Huge Burrito but very small tacos

We visited this place with a friend. The burrito was so big that it was a split in half for 2 people. I ordered 2 tacos and they were delicious but very small.

Flavor that calls you back for more

By Jeff W |

We tried out Minero in Ponce City Market on a whim and we were glad we did. They have researched their corn and peppers and made a science out of creating great taste. We ordered chips and salsa - three salsas with strong yet fresh flavors and had two tacos each. I loved the Al Pastor any Green Chorizo while my wife's chicken and steak ones were equally as flavorful. Will have to try some other spots in the market, but will definitely be back at Minero.

Needs Tweaking...

By Pam H |

The restaurant atmosphere is lovely-- however, the food is lacking. The salad was thrown together without presentation. The burrito came in a puddle of grease. Not the sort of thing you expect at a high end destination like Ponce City Market. The bar and tequila selection looked nice, but we weren't imbibing that day. Flavors have promise, but way too much fatty cheese. It seemed to take forever to get some salt & pepper and the restaurant was rather full, but not crowded.

So so

By melbi2 |

Margarita was tasty although weak. I didn't particularly enjoy the burrito, although the chips and salsa options were tasty. Given that a margarita, burrito and half of chips and salsa ran me $30, I didn't think it was worth it. Also felt like the server was rushing us out the door. So so experience, but won't seek it out in the future.

Fun Atmosphere, but Tiny portions

By Naomi S |

Drinks were good, but I did not care for the food. Ordered pork tacos with were really small -- not even in a regular size tortilla. Pork had more fat than meat. Some fat is the trend, but I had tons of chunks of fat. Ugh having to pay for chips is not smart. If they give your free chips you will drink more and they will make more money.

Marvelous Mineros!

By TL Emmert |

This Restaurant is located inside of Ponce City Market! You can sit at their outside Cafe or Bar and restaurant inside. Food was incredible! I had the Shrimp Taco. The Best Taco I have ever had! The Prices are very reasonable. Our Waitstaff was very attentive and shared their knowledge of the History we were sitting in. Also Handicap accessible and plenty of room around the tables. The Decor was a Great Reminder that you were having a special day out! Wonderful atmosphere! Must visit!

Good margaritas and tacos

By Donny H |

Excellent standard margarita. Tacos were very good. My favorites were the catfish and pork. It sounds like the shrimp was also excellent. Chicken was so-so. The burrito looked excellent, but a bit overwhelming to eat.

Not a good value - food not that great for the price.

By sandy l |

The positives - This is a sit down restaurant in Ponce City Market and the outside seating has large fans and is shaded. The outside seating can accommodate larger groups. They have a liquor and beer license. People who eat hot wings ordered wings here that we watched being shaken up with the sauce and spices in a bag. The negatives- my friend and I ordered two very different entrees yet they were seasoned all the same, and not in a tasty flavor. There was WAY too much paprika and red pepper (no description on the menu that they do it this way). This is coming from someone that eats spicy food. My meat salad had boring plain lettuce and really not much else it for the price and the meat was chewy. The avocado vinegarette was not good either. Our food took nearly 30 minutes to come out, we didn't see our waitress very often, and our food was cold when it arrived. Skip this place and try somewhere else. Trust me, I'm from Texas and know real Mexican food.

Asweome

By augraybeard |

Sat at the bar and had the guacamole which was the best. Just got tacos. They are pretty small but for $4 not to high. They were fantastic. Alcohol prices were good. Overall a really good place and I would go back and dig into the menu more.

Mineros is a good choice for PCM

By Debbie W |

I recently visited Minero's with my daughter and Granddaughter. It was their first trip to the Ponce City Market, and we took a stab at going somewhere I had never been. We were told the wait would be about 15-20 minutes, and they took my cell number to text me. About twelve minutes later, I received the promised text. We were quickly seated at a decent table, and the waiter appeared within a minute or two. My daughter treated me to a beautiful Margarita, (pictured below) which was strong but delicious. My daughter ordered two cat fish tacos, she mentioned that she was a pescartarian. The waiter and she exchanged some information about the menu, then my granddaughter and I ordered burritos, a house specialty including avocado, "hoppin' john" (rice and red beans) queso, and crema. We decided when the drinks arrived to add cheese dip. The waiter explained the dip included polbano peppers, which was fine by all of us. About fifteen minutes later, our entrees' arrived, delivered by staff other than our waiter. Although the fish tacos looked a little smallish to me, my daughter pronounced them 'delicious' and said they were perfect. My granddaughter and I dove into our plentiful burritos, hers replete with skirt steak and mine bursting with chicken. The burritos are a good bargain at $10.00, filling and very tasty. Ah, but our cheese dip, where was it? The waiter appeared, asked how things were, and apologized about the cheese dip. He promptly brought it out, and we all dug in. "Mom, wait, there is Chorizo in the dip!" Luckily, my grand has a sophisticated palette that saved my daughter from dipping into the meat-laced dip! The dip was good, however, I was surprised the waiter didn't alert my daughter to the meat included as they had had a conversation about her not eating meat. The dip was wonderful, if a little overpriced for the small portion for $10.00. The waiter ended up by comping it for the mix-up. All in all, the food and atmosphere were both nice, the staff friendly and accommodating. My only issue was the meat in the dip, which we would have known about if we still had the menu. Instead, we depended on the advice of the server. He did what he could to make it right. Things happen! We will definitely go back to Minero's.

Great option at Ponce City Market

By Falcarragh13 |

While a little pricey compared to typical Mexican restaurants, the quality was really good. The waiter had warned two in our group that the burritos were huge, and they really were. Surprisingly, the green chorizo taco was kind of bland, while the others we tried (chicken, friend fish and pastor) were awesome. Loved the frozen margaritas - a little on the smokey side.

So good and tasty. Showed us that what we in Sweden call tacos is .... something else. We all had different dishes and it all was better than expected for lunch. Made us full the whole day. No dinner needed. Good service as well.

Amazing lunch for business or a date

Mineros is a fantastic spot from chef Sean Brock, from Charleston. It is consistently great and surprising. I highly recommend the burrito, which is totally surprising, grilled on the outside with cheese and stuffed with avocado, cheese and grilled vegetables (and your choice of meat if that's your thing.). Easily the most innovative Mexican in town. (Check out the pic of the chilaquiles)

Excellent Mexican

This is our favourite Mexican restaurant - love the burritos - fresh, different and tasty. Wish we had one to go to in our home town. (We do go to the one in Charleston on our annual visit there).

Service

Took over an hour for food. Got a service of tortilla chips and salsa for our concern over how long we have waited. Drink service slow. The staff did not seem to think that the food was taking too long. When the food was ready the meals came out staggered. Once the food came the food was good but not worth the wait

Very bad mexican food.

The service at the bar is great but once your at the table is the worst. Slow, slow, and they bring appetizers after they bring you the food. Burrito is spicy but in a bad way, not tasty at all. Tacos are even worst, fish tacos so salty that I could not eat it, and carnitas taste awful. Oh and the chips with salsa are almost burned. Margaritas also very bad. There are a lot better places in Atlanta to eat good mexican food. If you want authentic take the drive to Doraville, and go to El Rey del Taco, THE BEST!!!

Great tacos!

Great tacos, perfect size. Music a bit loud but not too bad. Margaritas were perfect! Added to my must stop list in ATL.

Good lunch

This small Mexican restaurant has a great location in the Ponce City Market with a choice of indoor or outdoor (covered) seating. Service is friendly and efficient. Food is good. We enjoyed the tacos but they are a little messy. The salad is also good. Servings are large. All in all a good lunch stop but there are better choices for dinner.

Great Mexican at Ponce City Market

I would say this is Mexican rather that Tex-Mex. Sean Brock's entry into Atlanta. Had the chargrilled chicken wings doused in Valentina sauce, the chopped salad and the torta of the day. A torta is a Mexican sandwich on a bun. The torta of the day had chorizo sausage, avocado, and two fried eggs on top. Messy but delicious.

Very nice

Authentic Mexican in PCM

Good, casual Mexican food by Chef Sean Brock. For $24 we bought a salsa trio, 4 small 3 inch tacos, and a Jamaica tea. The tacos were all very flavorful and artful. If you are a big eater, you will want more than 2 tacos. We were told there was a 30 minute wait for lunch on a Tuesday at noon, but our table was ready in one minute. The wait staff and service were excellent. The hibiscus tea was lovely.

Superb range of tacos

We really enjoyed the tacos, but we felt the experience was compromised by the less than enthusiastic service.

Tequila selection is fantastic

We visited for my sons 25th Birthday. My son and my husband enjoyed shots of tequila at the bar while we waited for our table. The drink menu is interesting, using Chartreuse is one of my favorite things to see on a bar menu. The service could have been better. Our waiter seemed to be a little overwhelmed and he gave us our check without asking for desert or additional drinks. We let the hostess know of my sons birthday, but the waiter didn't acknowledge the celebration. We will visit again..
