We always make a point of visiting Chinatown whenever we visit Chicago because I think it is cleaner than any Chinatown I've ever seen (with plenty of parking too). But a friend took us to this downtown branch of a favorite place of ours in Chinatown. So glad he did! Please make sure you plan on fasting or running at least 10 miles after this trip because you will most definitely stuff yourself. We mostly ate dimsum and it was so good! Felt guilty but I admit, I devoured an entire plate of their fried pork belly-- yum! Also tried their noodles and Yangzhou fried rice--- delicious! And they have this baked egg yolk bun that is truly to die for! That and a tall cup of taro bubble tea and I'm happy! Admittedly their menu is not as extensive as the Chinatown place but it has all of my favorites. So if you happen to be staying downtown, no need to schlep over to Chinatown for your dimsum fix! Now I know EXACTLY where my post-race meal will be after the Chicago Marathon in October!

Loved the food, the decor, and the style of the place in general. Felt a little rushed by the wait staff even though the dining room was about 50% full. Once the food came out, which was quite quickly we were ignored until we asked for our check. I enjoyed the experience over all and the food, just wished the service was a little more attentive. I might give it another try next time I'm in town.

This is an old favorite. We often eat here before Pritzker concerts or other events downtown. Nice dim sum menu plus regular Cantonese favorites. So recent dropped in for dinner before a concert and asked to be seated in the main room near the window. The person on duty said we would have to sit in the back area which is far less attractive than the main rule because their 'new policy' was that this room had to fill up first before people could be seated in the main room. So of course we walked out. What kind of place creates a policy that makes dining there an unpleasant experience when they have an alternitive

Reasonable food. Usually hot and sour soup reflects the quality level quickly. Too salty soup, and kindly the restaurant re-provided non-salty soup. Happy with service.

When going to a Chinese restaurant, I much prefer dim-sum (aka yum-cha), which is probably best at lunch-time. But, we came for dinner. Family friendly, warm and eager to please staff this restaurant offers dim-sum hanging over to dinner time. A somewhat limited offering of dim-sum compared to some places, but for dinner represents quite a reasonable assortment. The favorites we ordered were steamed dumplings especially the shrimp combinations. Other items we liked were the pan-fried pot-stickers, and the rice dough wrapped pork (the shrimp was also good this way). Our grand child got a bowl of rice noodles, and this fussy eater loved them. I tried the sweet pastry filled sesame ball as an ender, but found it with somewhat dry crust reflecting its initial presentation for lunch-time. We tried some of the regular menu items, but we acknowledge this as a Cantonese restaurant and thus we do not look for the szechuan or Hunan dishes. All in all quite enjoyable, but clearly meal timing is important. Nevertheless, we would be pleased to return for dinner.

Having eaten at this restaurant in the western suburbs, I was leery of the quality. I am happy to report the food in chicago was very good. Seafood dishes were very tasty, vegetables also fresh. Appetizers excellent.

My two sisters and I happened to find ourselves by chance here because it was a sudden July downpour and we were in the area. I have to say we were quite lucky, because otherwise we never would have found it or tried it! We were served very quickly, the restaurant itself (at least in July) was a separate building of its own a little off of Randolph Street and so very lovely both inside and for the view it had. I loved the artwork and the variety of seating arrangements. Even though the restaurant was quite full, the waiter we had was absolutely delightful and the food (especially the egg yolk bun) came very quickly and was really good. I've never had a dessert like that in my life, and crave it now! I'd love to eat there again, as it was one of the better restaurant experiences I've had in many years!

The dim sum here was delicious--so much to choose from. My friend and I chose 6 small plates and all were excellent; the pork and shrimp dumplings were a standout. The prices are very reasonable for the amount and quality of food you get. Would definitely return.

We had never heard of Ming Hin, but decided to try it when we were looking for a lunch place in the "New East Side" area. We're glad we did. The restaurant is a bit hard to find if you are unfamiliar with the area -- it is not right on the street, but rather back in a courtyard with other shops. Look for signs directing you to Mariano's supermarket and you'll find the restaurant easily. The restaurant looks small from the outside, but once you are inside, you'll see that it is a large space with plenty of seating. We arrived about 1 PM and were seated immediately. We were given complementary "appetizers" (peanuts, pickled cucumber and chow mein noodles) to munch on while we waited for our food, but our food arrived very quickly and we really didn't need the appetizers. You order your dim sum via a menu (versus the more traditional dim sum approach of roving carts you would choose from) and having pictures on the menu helps you see what the food will be like. We chose the shrimp dumplings, the steamed BBQ pork bun, the pot stickers and the steamed vegetable rice crepe. All were very good and plenty for two people. Prices were very reasonable and service was great. We will definitely return to try other things on the dim sum menu or the lunch special menu.

This is our favourite restaurant by far when visiting Chicago! We started coming to this restaurant in 2017 & we loooove dim sum in all ways and flavours . This restaurant easily beats Yank Sing in SF , not only in flavour and quality but also in price ! On weekdays between 2:30 and 5 pm the dim sum are on "happy hour " prices but this was mostly "forgotten " by our waiters on each visit till we, gwailou , asked what happened to the "happy hour " ... Enjoy the delicious food but be aware and check the bill before enjoying the fortune cookies .

This is one of the best restaurants I have tried in Chicago. Great food, great service! I have found that there is a little inconsistency in the flavor for the same dishes in different days, maybe they have different chefs with particular differences in taste preferences. They should work around that to create a more solid restaurant taste.

Came here for an early dinner after a matinee. We decided to do the Dim Sum menu. For one in our party it was a first. He thoroughly enjoyed it! Also, it is good to note that they serve Dim Sum all the time and not just special hours. The Dim Sum menus have pictures but the print is small and can be hard to read for us old folks. You fill out your menu by writing the number of orders you want next to the picture. We used three menus for five of us. They lost one of the menus and therefore one of our orders. We did share everything anyway. We ended up ordering some additional of our favorites and tried and couple more new ones. Of course some were better than others but we had a great experience. The dumplings were great, especially the shrimp ones. I think my favorite dish was the pan fried green chive cake. The servers English is hit or miss. We found it difficult to communicate at times.

First time in Chicago and my friend told me about this restaurant. It is not easy to find Chinese restaurant like this in Ohio, and I was anxious about going to the "real" Chinelse restaurant in Chicago Chinatown. The food quality wasn't bad over all. The roast pork taste good, but the skin was not crunchy. The BBQ pork taste good, but the presentation wasn't good. The roast duck was the worst out of all the BBQ stuffs, it tasted like it has been in the refrigerator for a day or so. We also ordered the whole fish with chilli sauce. I guess it was my fault that I didn't ask what was the market price, but I never pay more than $50 in Ohio for a whole fish...and I am in Chicago, I thought it cannot be more than that. To my surprise, the fish was $76! They did a good job on steaming the fish just right, didn't over cook, but it was very salty. I think this place is a little overpriced with the quality of food that I was getting. It costed me over $160 for two people (4 dishes and a soup).

A friend brought me here and said I had to try this place. She was right. Great food. We shared the sweet and sour chicken, egg rolls, and pot stickers. Yum, yum, yum. Service was great snd staff was friendly. You want Chinese? This is the place to go!

Whenever you’re in Chinatown Chicago, this is a must go to place for authentic Chinese cuisine and people watching. They have a good variety of dishes for there Dim Sum or Morning Tea as some of the Chinese say. I recommend any and all of there pork buns and dumplings. They also feature a full menu as well. I personally love there roast pork and it’s crunchy skinned awesomeness :). They also have an oyster dish that’s very good. The decor is classy and overall a great environment to enjoy a meal, especially with family.

2nd visit & we will come back again! Authentic Chinese food (hubby lived in China so he knows.) Shrimp with lobster sauce, lemon chicken, beef chow mein, jasmine tea served upon sitting down, fast service, reasonable prices- what else can you ask for?

looked for a dimsum place near my hotel and behold Ming Hin right across the river from my hotel! Had congee, tripe, chicken feet and steamed dumplings. Yummy! Service is not bad either. I came back twice actually. It's great that I didn't have to take the train to Chinatown to get my fix.

We were referred to this restaurant at the suggestion of a recent visitor. Chicago has a shortage of authentic Chinese restaurants and I was told this was a good place to try. The menu is extensive like most Chinese restaurants and it is configured to local tastes; I guess that's necessary give most clientele will want to see familiar things. The flavors of the dishes we ordered were indeed authentic and not something you'd see at PF Chang's. What's interesting is that they do serve dim sum which we will come back to try one day. One other thing, this location is very difficult to find, so be prepared for an 'amazing race' search for it.

I celebrated my birthday in their Naperville branch last June 8 with a large family group--more than 20 of us and we were actually pleased. The dim sum which everyone partook is satisfying. The room they provided us was large enough to accommodate everyone, 3 large round tables that can seat 9-10 people. You order by checking your selection from a piece of paper showing the dish you wanted and how much. You can also order by the usual menu book. I just have 2 concerns I'd like to point out! First, the server can be a little nice and have a smile that can go a long way. Second, when they brought the food to our table they NEVER identified which is which and to whom it should go. I mean, they literally brought and left the food on the table without saying which is pot sticker from pork bun and the like! And if you have 9 or 10 people on the table, given that the food is contained in this little bamboo steamer, you'd be hard pressed to know what's inside. I still like to come back soon if this problem is followed up and corrected. That's one area that needs a lot of improvement.

Tried their orange chicken, stir fried beans and Mongolian beef. It tasted very fresh and delicious. We had to wait half hour since we had no reservation and the restaurant was busy. But the food was very good and reasonably priced.

The prices were reasonable and the staff was excellent. The wait was very short for the food to come from the kitchen.

I felt rushed, the crispy duck wasn’t crispy, we were served our starter with our main. I had to ask three times for a fork. The waiter put the bill on the table before clearing our plates. Would not go again it was one in and one out.

Visited the location on Grand Ave for lunch. Small and very busy. We had about a 15 min wait & then we were seated at a long communal table. Seats were unusual stools and pretty uncomfortable. There are also booths but we were told they were for bigger groups. You are presented with a tablet on which to view the menu and order by placing items in your shopping cart. Servers come by to answer questions & then to check & process your order. Restaurant is known for dim sum items. We tried several. Steamed pork buns (good); pot stickers ( tough & doughy w- very little filling); egg rolls ( meh); seaweed salad (good); string beans with chilis ( good); hot/sour soup (too thick but tasty). A shredded chicken dish we had we felt should have come with wrappers & condiments but it was just the chicken with bones & skin mixed in so pretty fatty. Might try this again with different choices. The vegetables looked like better choices & maybe more of the dim sum. They also feature a lot of seafood which we did not try. Service was good & servers were very helpful but it was not our best food experience.

I've gone here a couple times for Dim Sum and am usually happy, but the last 2-3 times has not been good. Instead of writing about each tiny dish I got, I will just say that usually 2-3 out of the 5 plates I order, I'm happy with. My friend got food poisoning the last time we were there, we've figured out it was from the beef tripe. That's the last time we'll go there. Most of the time, I'm wanting more flavor. Their congee needs more flavor. Their udon is fine. Service is only ok which is to be expected anyway. This place is large, good for groups. Sometimes there will be along wait on their peak hours/days like the weekend. Pay to park. There are better dim sum places in Chinatown in my opinion, but MingHin offers a modernized, clean, big space with a lot of options.

I have a very chinese tummy! I need at least one chinese meal in 2 days!! Luckily i stay really near this restaurant that serves authentic cantonese food!! Ate at least 5 times in a week!

The four of us were seated at our table with 4 dim sum menus and an iPad with a regular menu. To pass around an iPad to 4 people who all want different protein dishes is not the way we wanted to go. Asked twice for additional iPads and finally got one more. So we shared the two. Probably would should make it easier to have everyone get the menu's on their phones. Anyways, I called before and was told they would have several options for my wife who is gluten free. This really wasn't the case. Every time they said they thought they could make it GF, they could not. Finally she had pork and fried rice, which we could have gotten in the burbs. My daughter loved the beef and noodle dish. The portions were a bit salty but huge. In the end the end, except for my daughter with the beef and noodles, no one was really overwhelmed and felt our local hole in the wall an hour out of Chicago was much better.

Great small dishes priced at about $4ea. shrimp dumpling outstanding. good steamed spare rib. excellent baked pork buns. delicious chicken feet. sui mai wasn't that great. they have a happy hour deal now for 20% off b/w 230-5pm M-F. Located next to a great supermarket---Marianos.

Tucked away in a plaza near Randolph and Columbus. No traditional cart service here but dishes arrive prompt and hot. Dumpling wrappers for har gow are a little thick and doughy, and rice noodles with XO sauce were a bit wet/mushy. Overall good flavours and reasonably-priced for the neighbourhood ($30 including tax and tip for 5 dishes). Medium $4.35; large $4.75.

It was hard to find but worth it. We came for a late lunch. We had dim sum (great flavor and big sizes) and beef flat noodle with sauce.

Great and in a convenient and surprising Lakeshore East location. Call Ahead for reservations with groups. Popular lunch spot

Ming Hin is one of the better Chinatown restaurants in Chicago, and they have now added a second location, between Randolph street and Benton Place near the Harris Theatre and Millennium Park. The food is authentic - though not if you order the Sichuan dishes. The Kung Pau Shrimp was not very spicy, and the sauce had a sweetness to it that was very far from true Sichuan cuisine. But the Cantonese dishes were the real thing. Fish fillet with yellow chives was particularly good, with the fish cooked just the right degree. The Singapore Rice Noodles were also excellent, with a bit more ting to the curry than one usually finds. Seafood and Tofu soup is another standout, and the salt-and-pepper soft shell crabs are terrific. The menu is not quite as extensive as the Chinatown location. This location also has dim sum for lunch, which I have not tried but have heard great things about - and the quality of the dim sum in their Chinatown location is superb. I found this restaurant just a bit noisier, due to the music they had playing (recorded, not live), but overall I plan to be back. This is one of the few genuinely authentic Chinese restaurants outside of Chinatown. This is also a true bargain - full dinner for 13 people, 8 of whom also had beer, came to $297.00.

Went there for lunch. The place was nice but the service and food was just OK. Good for a quick fix but I wouldn’t go back. The egg drop soup was good.

We love the Archer location of Ming Hin, but today tried out the downtown location on 333 E Benton. It's tricky to find, but SO WORTH IT!! The dim sum is divine- shrimp dumplings, BBQ pork, pork bao- all the classics. No waiting for a table on a Saturday, unlike the Archer location. The service was very solicitous and friendly. I'm so excited that we can get phenomenal dim sum just steps from Michigan Avenue. You order either on an I-pad or by checking off the items you want from a paper menu with photos of each item. Perfect if you are trying dim sum for the first time. I miss the steaming carts careening through the restaurant, but it's wonderfully efficient this way. Can't wait to go back!

Hotel recommended this place and they were right. Great food, very fresh and good service. Will be back again.

After my trip to HK where I tried several dim sums and the authentic Chinese cuisine, my standard for Chinese food has increased. I think this is very decent place with the good variety of dim sum and main dishes. However, they good I tried tasted too mild, maybe just to be more appealing for the local customers. Shrimp dumplings are mandatory. The main courses we ordered were not as tasty and spicy as I expected. Desserts were good. Fair prices.

I have been here twice for dim sum with different people and both times it was great! This is one of the rare places in downtown that both has good food and are not terribly overpriced.

The reviews for this restaurant were favorable so I was looking forward to dining here. The dining experience started with being provided a paper menu and an iPad by the host. The next person who I thought was our server stopped by and asked if we wanted water or tea. So we ordered water. The water was provided shortly after and that was it. I turned the iPad on and realized that we needed to order through the iPad so my wife and I did. We ordered crab rangoons, egg rolls, orange chicken, fried rice and kung Pao chicken and two diet cokes. A few minutes later the diet cokes were served. Then the dining experience gets interesting. Fifteen minutes later we get the crab rangoons. 10 minutes later I get my kung pao chicken. 5 minutes later we get the fried rice. Another 10 minutes later we get the egg rolls. All these dishes were served by a different person. Another 15 minutes goes by we still haven’t received my wife’s orange chicken. I asked a server walking through the dining room that we still hadn’t received the orange chicken. Walking by he said it was coming. 5 minutes later it was served. At this point we were basically done with the meal. The food was okay, I live in a small town with one Chinese restaurant which I thought was better than MingHin. I still have no clue who our server was, very odd dining experience. I personally would not recommend dining here and was disappointed with our experience.

We really enjoyed our lunch at Ming Hin Cuisine. The dim sum was not the best I have ever had, but it was very good, and excellent for lunch. The servers were very helpful, and the food came very fast, as that is important for business lunches. We each had several different selections, and none of them were bad, and most were very good.

Excellent dim sum for lunch. We ordered all the usual favorites and everything was just well made. I like being able to order from a tablet and seeing the pictures. I'd say the only thing is it's a little on the expensive side $7-$9 a dish.

We dined in this restaurant to try the dim sum at lunch. Dim sum is ordered from a printed menu that shows all the lunch selections. You actually mark your order on the menu. Ming Hin has a fair selection of dim sum with 45 choices. We actually ordered too much because the serving sizes and items were larger than we expected. We had sui mai, shrimp dumpling with green chive, shrimp rolls, pot stickers, bbq pork, and egg custard tart. Everything was good, but not up to the standards of some restaurants in San Francisco or Honolulu. I would eat here again if I had a craving for dim sum while in Chicago.

Chow fun and peking duck really good. We ordered way too many dishes. Large portions. Did not try dim sum. Great service.

Honestly, not a Chinese lover. but last time I had to come with one of my site members. he made a Reservations for us ....its fabulous place. later on, I understand, it is a very busy place downtown. Perfect for friends, families of all ages, business meetings or even eating alone I choose The Chicken Noodles which was amazing. now I'm sure I have to come and check the other menu.

Make reservations so you don't stand in line too long. Best dishes included the Peking Duck and Crispy Pork Belly. If you like chicken feet, I can recommend them in their special sauce which is delicious. You order off a large picture menu rather than looking for carts passing by. Service was good and it was very reasonably priced.

We had a really wonderful meal here. Everything we tried was super delicious. The service was great, too. We found it because it was close to our hotel and were so glad we did. We definitely would recommend it!

Vast menu, tasty food but slow service, even for carryout. Pricing was fair and staff were generally helpful but could be more communicative about orders and wait times.

This is a Cantonese cuisine restaurant which serves good food. Gave it a 4 due to some unfriendly staff. Overall it's nice to visit.

We came to dinner at Ming Hin, having made a reservation. My sisters did not know much about dim sum and my knowledge was only slightly better. This type of food is an experience. Sort of like tapas. I am gluten free and there were still plenty of things for me to eat. Yummmmm.

Love this location. Plenty of room, great service. Super solid dim sum. Ways consistent. Decent price. Full menu available. If you are craving traditional chinese save yourself a trip to Chinatown. Great lunch option for business for both quick service and not cramped.

Arrived on a weekend for lunch . Do expect a long wait for a table. If you have the time might be better to go to China town with more options. The food was good, for wanted to stay in the millennium park area and willing to wait, this is a good choice.

Weekend getaway to Chicago for some Christmas shopping and restaurant hopping. We shared the following dishes: -Shrimp spring rolls -Cucumber salad -Clams with black bean sauce -Spicy Lobster Everything arrived quickly, even though the place was very busy with a line at the door. The spring rolls had that wonderful, delicate, crispy spring roll wrapper shell, were not greasy (as is often the case) and filled with tender and flavorful shrimp mixture. The Clams were good sized, plump, tender and juicy and the fermented black bean sauce was perfectly salty and pungent. The Spicy Lobster was mind-blowingly delicious. Just the right amount of heat to ignite your chile passion but not so hot as to obscure the flavor of the lobster. It was a good sized lobster, too which was appreciated. The Cucumber Salad was the perfect cooling, refreshing counterpoint to the spiciness of the lobster. We had other good meals in Chicago that weekend, but this is the one we still talk about. Very friendly and attentive service, and the best part was how good a value it was. I think the total bill came to around $80 ( for 4 courses and a couple Asahi beers!) Very, very highly recommended.

The ambiance of the restaurant was lovely, and the food surpassed all expectations. The staff provided quick and efficient service, ensuring both our drinks and food were served within 30 minutes. I absolutely adored the vegetable fried rice and shrimp chow mein, and the lotus seed paste buns were simply incredible. The experience was undeniably worth it.

Ming Hin Cuisine has become one of my favorite places to go to for lunch when I have a layover in downtown Chicago. The people is always delicious, and the service is wonderful. The only drawback is everything looks so good that I always suffer from eyes bigger than my stomach, but having delicious leftovers is a great thing.

Lunch on a Monday. 1/2 full at noon - filled up more by 1. Good recommendations from the wait staff, super fast food service, steaming hot, delicious, $30 for three of us.

I ate here on a Friday night and it was quite busy. The menu was in Chinese and English and there are a lot of dishes. We ordered appetizers as well as entrees. Both dishes, although marked as spicy, were quite bland. Also our entries came out at delayed times - ok if you are sharing, but we are not. Had to request items from server several times to actually receive. Not the best Chinese I’ve had.

I love Chinese food, especially Dim Sum. Few places do offer Dim Sum for dinner or late night. Ming Hin does. You have a variety of Dim Sum and a la carte to choose. Nothing to complain. The food is so good I have to return in 2 days.

Planned on having dim sum with some friends here but arrived too late for that (they stop serving dim sum at 4). We were a little disappointed at not being able to try the dim sum but we had dinner there anyway... And it was great! Barbecued chives were great, soy sauce chicken was great, steamed fish was great... fantastic food all around. Haven't had better Chinese food since moving to the Chicago area half a year ago.

Being of Asian descent and from Vancouver, Canada, I'm very picky about Asian food, and dim sum in particular. I have probably sampled the world's best dim sum in both Vancouver and Hong Kong. We came here for dinner in Feb. Unlike the other Ming Hin locations, this one does all-day dim sum. Although dim sum is not traditionally eaten outside of brunch hours, sometimes I get a craving for it, and all-day feature is convenient. We ordered some classics - shrimp dumplings, pork dumplings, rice roll with shrimp, beef ho fun, egg custard buns, and deep fried balls with black sesame. The shrimp dishes were horrendous because the shrimp was not fresh, and the fillings were missing bamboo shoots. The remaining dishes were very authentic and tasty though. The dumplings were well-made as the skin didn't rip. The beef ho fun was terrific; it had that wok smell and taste. Since we weren't particularly thirty after the meal, the amount of MSG in the dishes was not outrageous. The service was not our favourite. They didn't even offer tea! We will try the China Town location next time.

This place is known for dim sums for lunch time which is excellent. The dinner time menu is also very good. The place is very popular and there is always a long line so reservation is recommended. You can easily reserve on the website.

Just went to this place for the first time and we’ll definitely be back. Every dish we tried was delicious and service was prompt and friendly. More friendly, honestly, than a lot of Chinatown where we’ve often felt just a little unwelcome because we don’t speak the language. Ming Hin was welcoming to our family group. Great Spot.

Went here with big group, ordered a lot of different foods, including Dim Sum. We were disappointed. Fried rice was fine, as well as a couple of the chicken dishes. But, lo mein was below average, pork dishes were blah. With the dim sum orders, a couple were average but most were not good. . . . I pretty much will eat anything but we left a lot there. To be fair, maybe we like more americanized asian food, and maybe this is more authentic. But, we won't be back here either way.

We usually go to Chinatown, but this place is near Grant Park and the bean. A bit hidden though. You can call ahead to put your name in. No traditional dim sum carts, but has the normal offerings and a decent menu. Service was good and attentive. They have i-pad type menu with some photos. Food was very good. We would go back.

We had a wonderful lunch for three. We ordered from the dim sum menu and enjoyed it all. Service was prompt and efficient.

We had heard about this place from friends, and decided to give it a try. Very tough to find! The easy entrance is from Randolph, even though it's a Benton Place address. It's on the fourth floor of a mall-type structure. Staff was initially friendly, and certainly attentive. A request for Moo-Shu Chicken was met with puzzlement from waitstaff; however, we sampled Kung Bao Shrimp, Sesame Chicken and General Tso's Chicken and all were pretty good, if not spectacular. Some unusual spicing, but not exceptional. The atmosphere is very sterile, feels like a store more than a restaurant. Prices were competitive, but the experience was a little rushed.

Ate here on a recent visit to Chicago and my wife and I were so impressed we came back a second time. The dim sum menu offers mostly the usual favorits but they taste really fresh and were as good as any dim sum I have had in Hong Kong or Singapore. Price was very reasonable too. Highly recommended if you are staying near the Chicago river area downtown.

Horrendous experience for all 4 persons in our party. We ate at Ming Hin Chinatown. We were walked to our table and an iPad placed on the table by the host. No instruction whatsoever. We spent time looking through the menu on the iPad but at no time were we offered any help or information. We asked the server if rice was served with the meal or as an extra. The cost of the portions of rice led us to believe that the portions must have been large and this led to confusion. The server also explained the needless paper menu was intended for those ordering dumplings. Why have an iPad, a paper menu and a server who was required to answer our questions and then, hilariously, needed to take the iPad to the counter and re-enter the order to their system. All so time consuming , convoluted and lacking in any courtesy. We ordered a bottle of Californian wine and the server told us they didn’t have the particular wine on the menu but he would bring “another one”. No mention of type or name of wine. When he brought the wine he plonked the bottle on the table. He didn’t open it and didn’t pour just plonked it down. The starters arrived along with one main course. After a no of mins we asked if there was a mix up with the order. We were confused as to why the sesame chicken was delivered to 1 of the party but without rice and at the same time as our starter. A short time later a bowl of rice was brought to the table. It was certainly too big for one person but not big enough for 4. Again, no explanation or reference to the other meals. After a short time we asked the server about the rest of our meals and we were told these were on the way. Different ladies delivered each dish. Every so often a lady wheeled out a trolley and delivered different items to different tables without any order or clarity. Eventually all 4 mains were delivered to our table but no further rice. We had ordered two portions of orange beef, sweet and sour chicken and sesame chicken. The food was awful. The beef was so fatty. It was more fat than beef. Everything was drowned in sauce and it was impossible to see what was meat and what was fat. Every mouthful was a disgusting combination of too much sauce, fat and a little meat. We barely touched the beef. The chicken was little better. We left so much food behind. Nobody came to ask if our food was alright or if we needed anything. When the waiter came with the bill he clearly looked at the fairly full dishes and chose to ignore the volume left uneaten. We paid our bill, left no tip and hoped we wouldn’t end up sick from the disgusting meal. This experience was completely at odds with our overall experience in Chicago. We loved the city and are many wonderful meals and encountered friendly and efficient staff across the city. I would never return to Ming Hin. I would never recommend it and if I could give a no star review I would. There was nothing at all pleasant about the restaurant, food or the staff.

I visited with a friend and we thought the food was Lovely! Really fresh, loved the ipads for quick and easy ordering with photos. Service was fast and staff were very pleasant. Would definitely recommend. Also great value for money!

Over the past few years we've gone to Chinatown (at Phoenix once and Ming Hin twice) for our Dim Sum fix. Their Benton Pl. location was within a block of our hotel (Hyatt Regency) so we felt compelled to try it. Dim Sum is one of those street-food-conversations that can elicit strong opinion and harsh words. And ... even with the beautiful decor and cool night time views, this is just really good street food. So relax. We enjoyed several new things. The Crispy Pork Belly cubes where great! Just be sure to eat them while they are hot ... that's when they are magic. I enjoyed the Pan Fried Taro Cake. Starchy, mild, but with a genuine flavor and very nice dipped in hoisin sauce. The Egg Yolk Buns were sweet ... I prefer this in a tart. but ... something new. Honey Beef ... seriously tasty, as usual. We ordered a Stir Fry Vermicelli Noodle with Duck. This was somewhat strange as it reminded both my wife and I of La Choy Chop Suey! For those that came from this era, Chop Suey was the first step of Americanized Chinese food. Really swept the nation in the 20's and 30's. Anyway ... it was not a bad dish, just sort of old school and triggered some nostalgia. All in all ... Nice location, beautiful decor, huge variety, authentic Chinatown tastes and a ridiculously low dinner tab make this one a great place.

We again went to Ming Hin on our recent trip to Chicago. WE especially go for the Dim-Su, and they continue to serve this well beyond the usual lunch time. The selections all shown on a card seems somewhat limited compared to other Dim-Sum places, and the fact that all the items seem available later than expected leads me to think that the selections are pre-made and frozen. Nevertheless, the fare was quite good, enjoyable and we were again glad to stop in.

Our family of three entered the restaurant on a Tuesday evening and the restaurant was packed full! There was a 25 minutes wait but it was quite worth it! We ordered pot stickers, Roast pork buns, roast duck, steamed whole wide-mouth Bass and stir-fried Chinese broccoli (really Chinese Gai-lan). The wrappers of the pot stickers were a bit tough, the rice was not quite cooked but other than that everything else was delicious! I took one star off the rating because of the uncooked rice and the botched pot stickers served to us! I always judge the chef on the way the vegetables are prepared, and the chef at Ming Hin Aced it! It was fresh, light, crisp green, crunchy, tender, and delicious ! The waiters were very attentive: they replaced the plates after each course was served: the way it was done in a China! Don't know how they kept up with the service since the restaurants were full the whole time we were there! I strongly recommend this restaurant and the waiters there deserve big tips! A word of caution: we went to the one on E. Benton Place: it is inside a shopping mall and was difficult for any new comers to find it. We were definitely new visitors to Chicago! Had to ask locals to guide us to the place!

This was our 1st experience at this rather recently opened Benton Place location; we've dined at both their Chinatown venue and Rolling Meadows' location rather a fair number of times. Where this location differs from the others is that it's really hidden away and is best if arriving by foot or by cab - unless you want to pay the exorbitant parking prices nearby [if you're going to want to park in a lot, you might try one of the pre-pay apps for that]. As usual, the service was right on the mark and the culinary offerings top-notch. We've never gone wrong at any of the Minghin locations. That being said, the decor and acoustics leave a tad to be desired at this location, by way of comparison to their Rolling Meadows venue {and, of course, the Rolling Meadows site had a large and free parking lot}. If you're in the east and/or northeast Loop area, this is an excellent destination for Dim Sum and/or a full menu of Chinese offerings. I've only given this location a 'very good' because of the poor signage / how difficult to locate it is - it being in a courtyard surrounded by high-rises, the lack of parking and the acoustic level - the latter significantly being attributable to a diner who was clueless as to either the level of his voice and/or how to moderate it.

When we arrived there are lots of people wait in line, but it won’t take too much time to wait. We ordered 5 dishes, one soup, and several desserts. It’s nice for 7 people! It’s suitable to enjoy with friends!

I ordered vegetable fried rice with no onion and garlic. It was rife with spring onions. I ordered a simple mild, green bean side, no onion or garlic…it came served with hot chilis/peppers. This was for Christmas Eve. I can’t tell you how disappointed I am in Ming Hin on Benton.

My friend and I went here for dinner. She had a tofu dish and I had the beef brisket with eggplant. Wow it was so good. The staff was helpful and the service was quick. I would definitely go there again.

I stopped in here for dim sum while in Chicago for a conference. The service was fast and reasonably priced. The pork and shrimp dumplings were probably my favorite. The BBQ pork sticky buns were very good but a tad sweet. The short ribs were very enjoyable and I would order them again—although they were greasier and less tender than I am used to.

We were directed to Ming Hin Cuisine rather than Chinatown for yum cha and we were very pleased with the experience. Lots of choices of delicious food. Those from Hong Kong were delighted with the fresh, flavoursome and authentic fare, the rest of us enjoyed it from a less knowledgeable perspective but delicious is delicious in any language.

Easy to order, most food came quickly. One dish was delayed to end of meal. Staff was good, helpful and attentive.

We returned to Ming Hin for a pre-theater dinner. We hadn't been in over a year and were greatly disappointed by how mediocre the food was. They gave us an iPad to order from. It had pictures of the dishes. It was easy to use. We ordered pot stickers, egg rolls, Kung Pao shrimp and beef with scallions and ginger. The teapot showed up almost at once but was only lukewarm. After a longer wait than normal for the food, the potstickers came, 5 large ones to an order. The dough surrounding the filling was so thick and tough it required a knife to cut through it; the filling was very dense and dark in color; all pork, I'd guess, no shrimp. They also did not bring soy sauce, only a small dish of sweet orange-colored sauce. The egg rolls never arrived, even though we asked about them twice. The shrimp dish was only fair; I didn't eat any of it. The beef was the best of the dishes which isn't saying much. I'd ordered it with extra veggies. The beef was tender and came in large thin slices; the ginger and scallions were cut in huge chunks, whereas they should be cut up small, so it was very crude. I ended up julienning the ginger myself. The extra vegetables consisted of some broccoli, a leafy green (spinach?) and a few snow pea pods. It was a plentiful amount. Dinner for two, with tax but before tip was about $65. I'm sorry to say this formerly reliable spot has apparently fallen on hard times; they are cutting corners and it shows.

We had a lovely dinner here! Service was great and everyone was very friendly! Food was fantastic and portions were perfect! Location was clean and eating area comfortable. We had the Chicken Sesame with Broccoli, Mongolian Beef, Rice, Shrimp Dim Sum. Great place!

This is like a big Hong Kong restaurant. Kitchen is basically Cantonese, but the do very well be Sichaun, Shanghai, and Taiwan cuisine too. Huge selection, and I have sampled dozens of items. All were very good.

EXtraordinarily good wonderful and very classy. The staff were very helpful took time to explain about the food so to be sure we still wanted to order these items even tho it was a very busy time they were very patient with us as a group.Everything was just out of the world. We are it all!!!!! THE FRUIT SMOOTHIES WERE SO AMAZING real FRUIT all the way . THIS WAS A TRUE TASTE OT genuine Asian food.we will be going back soon.

Very tasty food, could tell it was made with fresh ingredients. Low of choice and menu on iPad so could see the different options. Great portions but not overly too much.Great value and very cheap alcoholic beer and cocktails for the area. Lovely find, very glad we went here for food.

Every dish looks like a food photograph in a magazine, and my shrimp and scallops with vegetables and my crab corn soup were delicious. There is enormous variety in the menu, and there is both a regular menu and a dim sum menu. For the area where this place is located, it is easy on the wallet. I arrived alone without a reservation at 7:45 on a Saturday night and the joint was jumping. They found a seat for me at the bar. Be prepared for a little chaos. Without explanation they handed me a tablet device with the regular menu, and a paper dim sum menu. But I figured it all out. The decor is nice and the bar offers some unique items, including bubble tea. Health freaks note that they cook with plenty of oil, though they might cut down if asked. Chinatown feel at Millennium Park, and wonderful food.

Dim sum isn't usually a meal for dinner, but my coworkers wanted to go to the Chinatown location for some, and I realized that there was this Ming Hin right by us near the park! We walked here and was pleasantly greeted and seated quickly. It did not take too long for us to choose what to eat, and it took even quicker for the food to come out - good for people who have walked 13 miles that day to do a tradeshow for work. Most everything was delightful! We ordered:chicken feet, choi sum with oyster sauce, cha siu bow(steamed rice bun), cha siu chan bow (baked), vegetarian cheung fun, dry stir-fry beef rice noodles, crispy roast pork belly... we ordered many, many things. The only two things that did not meet my expectations were the lotus leaf wrapped sticky rice (jun ju gai) and the vegetarian steamed rice noodle (jai cheung fun). The sticky rice actually had no flavor to it, and the rice noodles were so dry and the veggies inside were not cut, it made the noodle very difficult to eat. Otherwise, I would suggest this place. Looks like they have many, legit Cantonese dishes, and if I visit again, I would like to come back again to try some other items.

Great service, very tasty food, nicely designed restaurant It would be nice if the menu looked a little more chic

We made reservations prior to arriving. We skipped a long wait that way. The dinner portions were easily twice the size of a normal meal. The flavors were fantastic. The wait staff was friendly and prompt. If we had more time on our trip we would go back.

Went here for Sunday Dim Sum lunch, place was packed and we had to wait about 15 minutes. However the host made the wait enjoyable. The service here is quick and as in Dim Sum your meal comes in parts which is perfectly timed as you finished one the next was arriving. Really like he pork buns and spring rolls.

Excellent! Beautiful decor, good service, huge menu, and great food. It can get a bit noisy but don't let that deter you. Yo uh won't regret going.

Great selection of dishes and quality. We enjoyed our lunch tremendously. Definitely a step above most Chinese restaurants.

This place has all of the standard dim sum dishes, including an excellent shrimp and pea tips dumpling and baked hum bow. The short ribs with honey sauce were also delicious. I love pan fried turnip cake but I thought that Ming Hin's version was a trifle insipid and the egg tart fillings weren't as thick and unctuous as I'd like. The crust was nice and flaky, however. Service was friendly and efficient and the atmosphere was nice. The dining rooms were quieter than the usual cacophonous dim sum restaurants, which was very nice.

This is now my first stop every time I come to eat my way across Chicago. I will keep this review short and to the point. The Spicy Lobster might just be the best plate of food to be had on the planet. Period. I used to think it was Lobster with Black Bean Ginger Sauce I would get at Wei Wei Palace in GR, but this has surpassed that dish. And everything on the menu at Ming Hin is 20% off since the start of the pandemic. For a meal of this quality with superb ingredients and perfect execution at this price is worthy of shouting from the rooftops. My recommended meal: -Crispy Shrimp Spring Rolls (always gotta have something crispy when feasting on Chinese food) -Clams in Black Bean Sauce -Spicy Lobster -Gai Lan (Chinese Broccoli) stir fried with garlic -Asahi Dry Also very highly recommended are the soft shell crabs and the giant oyster with back bean sauce. You can thank me later.

We lived in Asia. We miss the "real" food, the "weird" dishes. Oh yeah bring us some baby octopus (not fried), ... This place brings food that feels as authentic as possible in the US. Texture, colors,.... so many dumplings,.... Too bad Chicago is 6hr away!

Good selection of food, something for everyone. We ordered the Minghin Chicken and it was moist and flavorful. The Macao style Pork was good except the skin was not crispy as expected. The Salt and Pepper Tofu is excellent, lightly breaded and tasty. Beef Tenderloin and Black Pepper was good, beef was tender and sauce was good. Their portions are small but prices are reasonable.

Best dim sum in the city at great prices. Plenty of English-speaking staff. Don't just default to Phoenix! Favorites include steamed buns, custard tarts, shrimp and chive dumpling, honey short ribs. Outstanding banquet options here at great prices. We had our rehearsal dinner here and had a fantastic feast for only $25 a person. They were also great about letting us bring in an outside cake. 3-4 stars for the dinner menu. There are other places in Chinatown for a group of 4 to get better barbecue, stir-fries, etc.

My wife and I ate here while in Chicago and it was awesome!I am a real foodie and appreciated the diversity on the menu. I wanted to try one of everything! The hot and sour soup was some of the best I have had and the combo appetizer with the roasted duck, roasted pork and the pork belly was extremely well done and super flavorful. The complimentary tea was amazing (kind of had a hint of lavender)and I highly recommend the steamed pork belly with fried dry fish and XO sauce as an entree! Definitely will go again upon return to Chicago. I was sad we didn't make it back for another meal this trip! Bon appetit!

I took a family trip over the weekend to support my other half as he runs the marathon. We stopped at Ming Hin because it was near our hotel and Chinese sounded good. The restaurant is small and very well designed for the space. There was a line out the door for seating, TVs in the bar to watch the game, and a lot of staff on site. Ordering to go was easy, and there is an online order option as well, but we stopped in to wieder and then went next door to grab beverages and dessert at the local grocer. Approximate pickup time was accurate. We were told to stop back in 25 minutes, and our food was ready about ten minutes after, which meant it was fresh, hot, and not sitting around waiting for us to return. Staff was very friendly and accommodating, and a majority of staff is bilingual if Mandarin is your native tongue. I would love to return for Dim Sum, we ordered some baked BBQ Pork Buns to go with our other foods. Food ordered & recommended: - Chicken Fried Rice - Beef Fried Rice - Singapore Combination Vermicelli Noodles - Crab Rangoon - Egg Rolls - Baked BBQ Pork Buns

I was on a business trip in Chicago and I was staying at a nearby hotel. Decided to try the restaurant for dinner. Dim Sum is normally a dinner food so I was surprised that they offer it here. I was welcomed and seated right away. Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce was delicious. The Chicken Noodles was amazing. Service was attentive. Definitely exceeded my expectations. Quality of the food was high.

Good food in a busy place downtown. Prices are decent for full dishes ($13-16) and dim sum. Great variety and drink menu too. They placed the four of us in a lovely booth and we thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas eve dinner. Reservations were a must but worth with.

Sat at the bar and ordered 4 items from the dim sum menu: shrimp dumplings, siumai, bbq pork buns and pan fried potstickers. The shrimp dumplings were good until i found a piece of shell in one which dampened the mood. Siumai was ok. Didn't care for the pork buns due to the non-descript filling that att times had "crunshy" elements in it which made me nervous. I also did not finish the pan fried potstickers. On the positive side: all that and cocktail was only $24! Next time though I'l probably go down to Chinatown and try something there.

Went for lunch. Good location in Loop.,Sat at the bar because there was a really long wait. Ordered potstickers for appetizer that werent very appetizing. For entree ordered beef with Chinese broccoli. It was average at best. If go again, will order from Dim Sum menu.

Staying at the Fairmont Chicago so it was very convenient 5 minute walk over to this location on Benton Place. It might be difficult to find as it is situated all alone but I read on Trip Advisor how to find it. From Columbus Ave turn left onto Randolph St. and look for 340 on the Park. When approaching the restaurant it looked empty but when they took us to our table in the back almost every table was filled. We arrived at 8pm on a Saturday night and surprisingly we are told that the kitchen closes at 8:30pm and the restaurant closes at 9pm. We were finished our meal by 9pm and there were still some big groups of people still eating. The waiter was helpful and put our order on the tablet for us. We ordered sesame chicken, sir fry chicken in black bean sauce and vegetable fried rice. We never received our sesame chicken dish which was ok with us as the portions were large. The chicken dish also comes with steamed rice but we already ordered the vegetable fried rice. The food was very good, tasty, fresh and filling. If we had more time in Chicago, would have liked to go back to Ming Hin to try some other dishes.

What we liked was that the menu is large and includes familiar dishes for those who are not adventurous as well as more unique, exotic items for those who want that. Reasonably priced and everything was very fresh.

Ordered takeout which was ready on time; hot and delicious. Chicken fried rice was yummy, not overly seasoned. The shrimp dumplings were large and flavorful. The Mongolian beef was a large entree with plenty of beef and onions. This place is 5 mins from home so we will definitely be eating again.

We paid about $145 to feed six of us. That was for 16 dishes and we were full all day! The quality wasn’t the best, but 1000 times better than what we’re able to get back home! Tea was weak. It satisfied our dim sum and belly needs though! The scallop fried rice was fantastic though! Highly recommended!

I'm generally not a fan of dim sum....too many things hidden inside of other things. But, this non-lover of ground meat found many incredibly delicious offerings. You must try the bbq pork buns and everyting shrimp, vegetarian, noodles and rice are incredible. Use the paper menu to order instead of the iPad. Great service and reservations available.

Menu had a huge selection of Dim Sum (at least for someone coming from a much smaller community). Food was good as was the wait staff.

We were hungry and in the mood for Chinese food. It was also about a 5 minute walk from our hotel. Our soups and egg rolls were very good. The general TSA chicken was a generous portion and it tasted good. However, the chicken pieces were much too large. Service was good, but cold and impersonal.

We waited for 20 minutes; was really crowded on Christmas Eve evening, after we enjoyed atmosphere, service and food quality; we realized that it deserved the 20 minutes waiting All in all; they have an excellent food.

Haven't had dim sum this good and authentic since lived in San Francisco. Good value. Quick service. Can't wait to go back.

One of the worst restaurants I have been to in a long time. Having traveled in all 50 states and a number of countries, I have a pretty good idea of what constitutes a good restaurant. This is not one of them. My wife and I ordered appetizers and two different entrees. Appetizer was OK (egg rolls). My wife's entree took over 40 minutes to arrive (despite asking staff several times). Vegetables were so under-cooked they were hard and virtually impossible to eat. My entree took almost 50 minutes to arrive. It was supposed to be hot and spicy. In fact, it was quite bland and almost devoid of flavor. The manager did apologize several times for the delays and offered a free dessert. At that point, we just wanted to get out of there and find something decent to eat. My recommendation: avoid this place. There are so many good restaurants in Chicago.

We were regulars at this location for years and thought the food was pretty good, but we noticed a decline in the service and food quality as they opened up new locations. Our meal there last week was the final straw. The service was terrible (rude!) and the food tasted awful. I hope the owners are reading this and will do something about it. Many of our friends feel the same way. We live close by and want to continue to frequent this restaurant, but not in its current state!

Three of us had a variety of dishes. Pot stickers, crab rangoon, tenderloin beef and egg rolls were the appetizers. We followed with a shrimp fried rice and a chicken with seasonal vegetables. The tenderloin beef was a bit too chewy. The other dishes were fine, but it would not be on my list for a return. It is walking distant to a number of hotels in the Millennium Park area. Also, it was a bit unusual to have Ipads for ordering. It really does not allow for much staff interaction. The staff quickly served tea. However, the dishes came out in somewhat of a scattered order.

In for convention and this restaurant was close to hotel we were staying. Wanted some Chinese food so took a chance of going there. Have to say food is good, classic Cantonese cuisine. They give a nice amount of food for the price. Service was great too Would go back

Got take away on a Sunday night and was great. Ordered beef with broccoli and chicken fried rice. Not super cheap but tasted really great and seemed very fresh. Sizes were good too.

We ate here in July 2015 and the food, atmosphere, and especially the dim sum was the BEST in Chicago. We went there last night expecting the same awesome food and was disappointed. When we asked our waiter where are certain dim sum dishes we loved last time, we were informed that new owners have taken over and the menu has changed. The four dim sum dishes that we did try cannot compare to the ones we had last year. I would no longer say that this is the best Chinese cuisine in Chicago. I believe there are better restaurants in Chinatown. I hear that they have opened another restaurant in nearby Naperville so maybe this is a chain and you are getting chain quality food.

Arrived at 8:30, party of 8. Were seated almost immediately although we had no reservation. They serve dim sum even in the evening. You just order from a menu, which has pictures and also English descriptions of the food - nice. Hot tea and ice water was served immediately. The food came out quickly. Very well-prepared and tasted deliciously. I'm sure we'll visit again next time we're in the city and craving good, authentic Chinese food.

We have been to two of the Ming Hin locations. This one downtown and the one in Chinatown. They are very similar, both always busy and have great dim sum menu. But the food at this location did not taste all that great. The best items I would recommend are; West Lake Beef soup, fried shrimp rolls, and shu mai. This location is smaller and it was a bit hard to find, it does not show exactly where it should be on google maps. It is directly across from Millennium Park's climbing walls. If you are in the area give the dim sum a try.

absolutely love this place for dim sum. quality is always very good as well as the selection. the restaurant is also always packed and they are so efficient! you order from a paper menu and check off how many orders you want. its convenient and has pictures for people unsure. they also have iPad for you to order larger dishes and those fo straight to the kitchen.

Best Chinese I've been to in years .Very friendly welcome & subsequent service . Food was high quality , beautifully presented & generous portions . Good value for money too . I'd be a regular here if I lived in the city.

We ate here twice during our visit and on both occasions the food was good (we had a variety of dim sum plus a rice dish) and the service speedy. The prices were very reasonable considering the location and popularity.

Definitely must try!!! Very authentic Chinese cuisine. I always order various kinds of dimsum everytime i go there. Everything is delicious!!!

We dined at their east Ohio location in the Streeterville neighborhood. The restaurant was full, the service was considerate and attentive, and the food was excellent. We were pleased with our appetizers as well as our entrees. We never felt rushed, and appreciated the wide menu selection. we will definitely return.

I thought the food was very good, although perhaps my expectations were too high. That said, I would go back again. It's got a great atmosphere with a beautiful interior, the service was good - although our food took quite a while, and the tea (which was constantly refilled) was delicious. I ordered Egg Foo Young, I was a bit put off by the extra $3 charge for vegetables. I thought they'd be on the side, but it actually was an upcharge just to have vegetables in the Egg Foo Young (which honestly took away a bit from the taste), The sauce seemed very syrupy - kind of like thick, corn syrup, gel like. It was good, but didn't seem like the traditional gravy I was used to. The chicken and broccoli my dining partner ordered was also good, but kind of plain. I will say, the Dim Sum at the table next to us looked pretty fantastic, so maybe we just didn't order the best choices on the menu.

This was the best cheapest Dim Sum that I have ever tasted. The service was fast but the waiters don’t rush you and the staff was amazing. You must go here if you are in the millennium park area

The dimsum selection was pretty good and were delicious. I like that you can order the dishes unlike the regular dimsum places where you pick from carts that the servers push around which always makes me feel rushed. The serves were polite and helpful.

My family dines here a lot so when I ordered delivery, I mistakenly thought I was in for a delicious meal. In the past, their cucumber salad was so good, but this time, mediocre at best, and a much smaller portion for delivery versus dine-in. I also ordered chicken on a stick (which they substituted with beef sticks), vegetable lo mein, and ma Pao tofu. The tofu was the only thing tasty. The lo Mein had absolutely no taste and the vegetables leave a lot to be desired. The beef sticks were all stick and no meat. I was so disappointed with this food. Although I said the ma Pao Tofu was the only thing good, it had a substance in the sauce that tasted and looked like ground white meat. This shouldn’t be in the dish and I hope it is not pork. This is the last time I will be dining here.

Had to wait despite table advance booking just to experience horrible service Non - Chinese are given indifferent treatment which gives an impression that they don't welcome non Chinese guests

This restaurant serves dim sum all day in addition to their regular menu. The service is fast, however, there is never a sense that one is rushed through a meal. The staff is friendly and helpful, the food is delicious and prices are very reasonable. There is a wide variety of food choices and each has a short description on the menu. I had a dim sum dinner with two Chinese beers and my bill, before tip was under $30.

Residents and visitors of the beautiful Lakeshore East neighborhood of Chicago (steps from Millennium Park) can enjoy delicious and fresh Chinese food at Ming Hin. A popular destination for lunchtime diners, Ming Hin serves thoughtfully-prepared dishes midday-evening with all day dim sum. The restaurant is very nicely decorated, serene, and inviting. Tables overlooking beautiful Lakeshore East park deliver nice views of this lovely-landscaped urban oasis. Menu favorites include Stir-Fried Bean with Minced Pork and Sesame Chicken. The menu is vast, food is fresh and flavorful, and service prompt and courteous. A nice escape from the bustle of Michigan Avenue and Millennium Park. Also a good carry-out option for Millennium Park concerts or lakefront picnics.

I have reviewed this restaurant located at 1633 North Naper Boulevard, Naperville at least 4-5 times and pointed out their deficiencies in the way the dim sum is served and it looks like management is finally paying attention or at least reading my posts. The servers are starting to tell you what they put on your table from what you ordered. But there’s still room to improve in that category. Again, as I said in the past, I have no problem with the the quality and taste of the food. The details in the way the food is served and identified when placed on your table is my greatest concern, other than that, everything is fine.

Went here for dim sum recently while in Chicago. It's not your traditional dim sum where the come by with carts. Instead you order off the menu which I kind of liked better. The shumai was some of the best I have ever had. The potstickers were not good though. Overall, we had a great lunch and I'd go back.

A great place to have dim sum in the middle of the city. Can be a bit crowded because it is so good. Try it all. Authentic dim sum.

The Beijing Duck was outstandingly tender and almost sweet. Served in two courses, the first with primarily skin, cucumbers, green onions on dumplings, with plum sauce, and the second as delicately sliced meat with fresh vegetables. Outstanding. Many Asian locals ate here and the service was very helpful, especially choosing from a large and varied menu. Also tried the Shrimp with peas and also very fresh and delicious. All tasted similar to the foods we experienced in China just 5 months ago, and brought back great memories.

Wow wow wow. I love dim sum and I loved this place. Quick and easy. 1 block from my hotel. Beat going all the way to china town!

The food is consistently good, and there's a great variety to the options as well. Staff are efficient, and never leave you having to wait for long.

We came here for dimsum for dinner. The shrimp dumplings , chive dumplings , BBQ pork bun and deep fried shrimp roll were really good. The stuffed bean curd skin with pork and shimp was average because the skin was dry and tasteless, but the texture of the bean curd skin probably is supposed to be that way. Shrimp crepe was good, but it didn't come with enough sauce, so it was a little bit bland for us. Crisp pork belly came with white sugar, it was odd for me, but enjoyed by my family. Red bean pudding and coconut pudding were average, they didn't have much flavor. Egg tart was really good, the crust was flaky, the fillings soft. After meal, we ordered Egg tart , baked BBQ bun and egg yolk bun to take with us. Overall the food was fresh and good, service was good.

Excellent food, we will definitely be back. Had out of town foodies visiting from overseas and they loved it.

I came here for lunch on a business trip. I ordered the Typhoon Shelter Clams which came with steamed rice, and two dim-sums: Dried Cabbage and Pork Bone Congee, and Zhaliang ( noodle-wrapped fried crullers). Growing up eating dim-sums in Hong Kong, all three dishes exceeded my expectation. The Congee was full of favor. The Zhaliang was silky outside and crunchy inside. The Clam dish was also one of the best I ever had. They really chose good quality manila clam that were big and juicy. The clams were thoroughly washed and without any sand. Typically, Typhoon Shelter style to me was a type of crispy fried dish with a lot of garlic. But this one was more like salt water clams with a lot of black pepper. I was surprised but found it very favorable. I made a comment about this style to the waitress. She said that they could make it the crispy fried style too if I requested. The restaurant is at the North end of the Millenium Park with view to the open space toward the park. It is not your hole in wall sort of restaurant in China Town. The atmosphere was nice and the sitting was comfortable. It looked like it has a full bar although I didn't order any drink. The service was prompt and the price was right. I reserved my table two days in advance through their website. They sent me a confirmation 24-hour later.

I went there on a week evening and it was entirely full. Queue was pretty fast though and I was quickly shown a small table and a typical Dim Sun pick and tick menu. The envrironment is pretty noisy. shrimp and pork dim suns are great, others I tried lacked taste and were too big, so you end up not trying as many as you'd like. Didn't try the noodles, but looks like what this restaurany is doing best looking at other tables. Fast and friendly service.

you've been to dim sum, right? you're in an enormous space and people wheel around carts and you don't know what anything is but you order everything that looks good, and it's great, but there's zero ambience. this place is different. the rooms are beautiful (there are three areas that are all slightly different plus a bar area and outdoor seating during the summer). you look at a menu that has pictures of all the dishes and descriptions and you order off the menu instead of off of carts. there are also entrees (there probably are at all dim sum places but to find out you have to have someone give you a menu). we wound up ordering four dim sum dishes, an appetizer-size of pot stickers, a cucumber salad, and an entree of duck breast and vermicelli. i didn't try the cucumber salad because it seemed likely to be too spicy (it's not the preparation you get most places). but i had some of everything else. my absolute favorite thing was the shrimp and chives dumplings. the other dim sum items--pan fried pork and corn cakes (not something i'd seen elsewhere--they were really good), short ribs in a honey sauce, and pork and shrimp shu mai--not a dud in the bumch. the pot stickers were probably my least favorite thing and there wasn't anything wrong with them, i just like the thinner wraps on the dim sum dumplings better. vermicelli with duck breast--i could have eaten just that and been happy. the staff is helpful and quick to take care of you. a great experience--perfect after a day at millennium park or the art institute.

In town for our anniversary and decided to have Chinese food. Found this little gem on Trip Advisor and fell in love. My husband had fried rice and I had sesame chicken. Both were awesome. My husband decided he wanted a lemon drop martini and I was thinking this is not the place to get a good drink but I couldn’t have been more wrong. These were the best drinks we had while we were in Chicago. And the least expensive. $8 for a martini. So try this place out. Great food and great drinks.

Been here many times in the last few years and thought they deserve a review. This is an awesome place, decent prices and very good dim sum. Everything we've tasted was always fresh, though we've focused on dim sum and not plated dishes. If you want to grab a quick dim sum lunch / dinner, definitely recommend this place!

The food was fantastic and it was reasonably priced. We highly recommend the pork belly, the shrimp dumplings and the fried crab and seaweed. Some in our party thought the cold jellyfish was amazing as well. The service was disappointing at the beginning. After we were seated, it was at least 15 minutes before we were able to flag down someone to take our order. After that, the food came out quickly. We would return.

After a long walk from Shedd's Aquarium back to the Swissotel we saw this restaurant on Google map. So we walked in and were seated immediately, as it was on a Tuesday no reservations were needed. We ordered tea right away as I was on the cool side after our walk. The wait staff was right on top of serving us and making sure we had all we wanted. We ordered the Beef tenderloin and it was so tender and delicious. Best my husband has ever had, I ordered the chicken fried rice and it was delicious. Had a huge portion and ended taking home the leftovers to eat for lunch. Didn't want to let a morsel of this delicious meal go anywhere but to our mouth's.

Good inexpensive dim sum near hotels. Easy to miss as it's tucked into a plaza. We ordered noodles with Bbq duck, garlic broccoli and an appetizer and that was enough food for the two of us.

Came here for lunch and had s good selection of dim sum plates. Everything was very good. I also ordered shrimp in an egg sauce which in reality was like a shrimp omelet. Not what I expected but pretty tasty . After a short wait by the bar we were seated and service was very quick and efficient.

This restaurant has another establishment in Chinatown, but if you are going to be downtown or in the Millennium Park area, and you like authentic Chinese food, this is an excellent place to dine. I have gone here since they opened; it's consistent and always good. They serve diem sum all day; uncommon in some restaurants. Will return again as I think they know.

Tried their dim sum, ordered 10 items, all very good and delicious. Good customer service. Price is very reasonable as well. Can’t wait to try more items again next time in Chicago!

A wide variety of Chinese food. Nice dim sum every day. Tremendous variety of dim sum and individual dishes. Good service and good value.

I had great experience in Minghin in Chinatown before, so I decided to go here in Downtown Minghin. But I'm really disappointed at their menu and service. The choice of dimsum and the other dishes are limited, and the service is poor. Instead of Minghin in downtown, you should go to Minghin in Chinatown if you want to eat good variety of dimsum.

When you come downtown to Millennium Park this Chinese restaurant is so convenient located that I always recommend it to all my friends and family. And let's not forget very delicious food but it can get pricey.

We had a very good experience. The food was very good, hot, and not very expensive. This was different from traditional Dim Sum where the servers push around carts loaded with food. Here we ordered by checking boxes on a menu (with pictures) and the food came fresh and hot from the kitchen. They dribbled it out slowly. The only drawback to this is that you can't have an aha moment when something looks good as it goes by.

Ate here for lunch after hearing about it from some colleagues. It turned out to be some of the best Chinese food we have ever had. The dim sum portions were very generous and the flavors were fantastic. The ambience and the service were also very pleasant. Location is very close to Maggie Daley park.

The establishment is surprisingly large, deceiving from the entrance. You walk into a Bar/Reception area that is busy and loud. Once in the dinning area it's much quieter and the tables are comfortably spaced. "MAYBE I'M USED TO ASIAN/AMERICAN CUSINE" but I didn't find any of the meals to have any real flavor. We were a party of eight and they only gave us small portions of sauces, it was too difficult to get a member of the server team to come to our table, I'm certain that if they checked in more often we could have received better service. If this is authentic Asian cuisine I'm certain I would never return

I came with a large party, and everyone agreed the food was excellent. We were disappointed to be seated at 2 tables instead of one big table, but it worked out in the end. Yes, I would come here again. Side note — the restaurant address is Benton Place, but the actual location is on the other side of the complex!

The Very Best ! Better than other place I go in Chinatown. It tasty well good. And service are super good. It make you feel at home.

We had a good experience last night. Our party arrived 45 minutes before closing but we still felt welcome. The restaurant is nice and modern. The food was nice - especially the bejing duck, which I can really recommend. Also the other dishes were a step above the standard chinese food you usually get. Excellent value for money.

Food is always fresh and delicious. Normally go for the Kung Pao Chicken. Clean, friendly and modern environment. Have been here a few times during lunch and they never disappoint! Love the pot stickers and dumplings. Definitely recommend!

Very nice location. Good food. Authentic Chinese restaurant. Offers dimsum, assorted regular chinese meal frozen fruit drinks which will truly satisfy your palate. It gets crowded at peak times...at least 25min wait. Will keep on back

Best dim sum for me in Chicago, but you are better get a taxi to go there because the parking lot fee is 30 bucks. The food is fresh and yummy. My favorite is steam BBQ bun.

Ordered the i) Sui Mai, ii) Pan Fried Turnip Cake, iii) Mini Sweet Custard Roll, and iv) Large Deep Fried Sesame Ball. All very flavorless. The food was hot and fresh, but flavorless. Given I love Asian food and am never afraid to try new things, I was very disappointed. On the plus side, the restaurant was spotless and the staff excellent. Spent $22 with tax and tip, no alcohol. I won't be back.

What a menu! If you like dim sum, this is the place! We prefer stir fry so ordered green beans and pork, along with jalapeño beef. Both were much better than any restaurant stir fry I’ve tried. So often Chinese restaurants are protein heavy with a little green pepper or broccoli on the side. Many choices here include lots of veggies with the protein.

Most Dim Sum restaurants I've been to, you pick your plates off a cart. Here at Ming Hin, you order and then they come to you. They had all the classics. I really appreciated that all our dishes were freshly prepared and HOT. We loved all our food and we are regular Dim Sum eaters in other towns (Detroit, NYC and Toronto). We will be back next time we're in Chicago. We came on a Sunday and at 10:30 am we were sat in the back with a very pretty view. By the time we left at 11:30 am there was a short wait. Our family of 3 adults left full, with a leftover bag and the bill came to $55.

This is our go-to dim sum restaurant. Food comes out quickly and tastes amazing. My only complaint is that it is ALWAYS packed, but they try their best to get everyone to a table quickly.
nice place to get some good dim sum
We had dim sum in a private room. The service was good for a busy holiday like Labor Day, just do not expect too much. The dim sum was very fresh, the sui mi & haw ghou was pretty good & well made. Dim Sum was pricey, but we expected it to be before hand.
