Went in for brunch while mom was visiting from Boston. Wait wasn't too long, service wasn't too bad, and food was good. HUGE PROBLEM: They kicked us out after sitting and catching up with family after a little while. I am appalled, upset, and how embarrassing is it that my mom was visiting and said this has never happened before- anywhere she's ever been. I would never go back and give my money to them.

Fantastic brunch!

Four of us for dinner...5 o'clock on a Saturday night before the crowds...once people started coming, felt cramped/crowded. Our food was acceptable, but not as good as anticipated...menu seemed limited...notwithstanding request for continuous flow of pita, we were given two small pitas ($3)...a Middle Eastern restaurant should pile on the pita.. All in all, a disappointment since previous visits. Brunch might be a better food alternative, but the crowds are a turn away.

Excellent middle eastern and Israeli food served in a lovely atmosphere. The Dishes are fresh and very tasty! Good and friendly service.Brunch is wonderful!

We have been to Miriam's twice for dinner, and both times it was outstanding and very consistent. We ordered the chicken with couscous, and it was cooked to perfection. Also, the spinach-lentil soup was delicious - just the right amount of spice. I have heard that their brunch is amazing - will have to try that next time, as I'm sure that it will be.

AMAZING - we came across this little restaurant on our last day in New York, service was great food was superb - I would highly recommended to anyone who is in the area!!

Amazing brunch- so hard to choose! I had the Croque Madame, one of my all time favorite comfort foods, but the Herbed Eggs were tempting, as was the Israeli Breakfast. Really cozy and laid back atmosphere. Drinks were a little on the pricey side, but hey, it's NY.

I have been to this restaurant many times and have never been disappointed. The food is good. Something for everyone. The decor is nice and the staff is lovely. My only complaint is that it can be loud at times and it is sometimes hard to hear your companions.

The Israeli impact on the culinary world is nothing short of amazing. With chefs like Zahav’s Michael Solomonov (Best Restaurant in US last year). Yotam Ottolenghi, Uri Buri and the amazing foodies scene in Israel, I had an expectation for an amazing experience. Unfortunately that wasn’t my experience at Miriam last night. It felt more like an overpriced, average, meal of small portions that lost a lot of its flavor and creativity as it crossed the ocean.

We stopped in here today for coffee and to rest a while with our baby. Really lovely place. Bright, tremendous 80's music, and very friendly service. Great wifi connection too. Can't comment on the food but the other patrons looked very happy.

I visited Miriam on a whim while passing by with a friend - I'd been craving Eggs Benedict for a while and I liked the look of the decor and menu. The fusion of Israeli and European/American dishes worked really well. We sat at the bar and were served promptly by a very friendly and polite blonde server - she was able to offer my friend some customisation for his dish of choice and made an effort to ensure our spot was clean and tidy as we sat down. It was really fun sitting at the bar for our food, it reminded me of Barcelona's tapas bars. There was a really nice atmosphere in there and the food was delicious - it's one of the few places I've come across outside France that included Merguez sausage on the menu, which is well worth adding to your order. The price really wasn't bad for the area and we both came away feeling like we'd had a really great meal. Thank you Miriam!

Wonderful Mediterranean and Israeli specialities to try, so much to choose from! Great service from attentive waitstaff. Open for brunch a little earlier than most, call ahead for exact time.

If you are a visitor to NYC and want a genuine easy way to get a neighborhood experience go to Miriam in the Park Slope neighborhood of Brooklyn. Everyday Miriam has these great meze plates, 4 for 12 dollars and 1/2 price wine and beer from 5:30 until 8pm. Everything is delicious especially the watermelon feta salad and the addictive shrimp. By the way Miriam has middle east style food. Park Slope is a great neighborhood to wander around and very well situated near the subway. Miriam is close to the Union Street stop of the R train and not that far from the Atlantic Avenue station.

Miriam is on another level. The food is incredible, the vibe and atmosphere are elegant and natural feeling, great music and great service. I had brunch and would definitely come back for the entire menu. Highly recommend!

Great brunch. Ordered 4 entrees including the granola and was happy with all of it. Latte, coffee and wine good. Service good.

We went with friends for lunch to this Brooklyn Israeli eatery. We split a White Sangria. My wife had the Chicken Schnitzel which was good and I had the Burekas with eggs, Israeli salad, beet salad and a some techina. All was yummy. Our friends had the potato pancakes and the Merguez (lamb sausage) sandwich both good. Service was helpful and attentive.

I visited Miriam recently on a Sunday afternoon for Brunch. We were a group of 5 with varied eating requirements - we had a vegetarian, one carb-restricted member, one who was lactose-intolerant, one strict carnivore and one omnivore. Thankfully, there was something delicious on the menu for each of us. It's a popular Brunch spot, so we had to wait around a half hour. The food was well worth the wait. The only problem was with the seating. For our group, they squeezed 3 people on a bench that comfortably holds 2. After being seated, I asked the person in charge of seating if he could provide a chair, so that one of us could sit at the end of the table. He said that there was not enough room (which wasn't true) and he could do it when the couple at the next table left. They were finished eating, so I thought that would happen soon. They sat and talked for another 45 minutes. All of the wait staff could see how uncomfortable we were, (it was obvious) but did not offer any solutions. Even more annoying was the fact that the next group of 5 who were seated right after us got seated appropriately. The food was excellent, but I was annoyed for the entire meal. I regret that I was not more adamant about the situation.

We had our best meal of the week at Miriam. Superb tapas, brilliant wine, nice service. Highly recommended.

A warm welcome initiate the experience. Staff is very friendly. Food is good with some excellent dishes and other less attractive. Kitchen production is not consistent. A little pricy Overall good experience.

NB the restaurant is misplaced on the map, it's not in Manhattan, but in Brooklyn! We had lunch here, which was pleasant. My dish, with fried eggplant was a little on the oily side (always tricky with eggplant), but otherwise OK. My daughter's dish was good, the home made fries were excellent. The wifi did not work. The music (here I go again) was not my taste. Here too I think classical music would fit the atmosphere much better. But I might be the only person who likes classical music......

It's always a treat to choose from Miriam's tasty menu and appetizing specials. Its two locations each have a warm atmosphere, but this Fifth Ave location is the most pleasant: warm lighting, simple but engaging decorations, and a fairly open layout that still offers a feeling of privacy. The pickles are scrumptous and the Israeli flavors are salty and sharp. Their wine list is extensive and their waitstaff knowledgeable.

Delectable food in an attractive atmosphere. Service could have been more attentive.

While visiting my cousin in Brooklyn came here for brunch. It was very busy and while I didn't mind sitting at a table with other people, it caused confusion and the waitress gave us our table mates food. Didn't realize it was theirs (we ordered the same thing) until it was too late. It took them 15 mins to bring her her food. That was a bit awkward. The food was fine, not unbelievable.

I've been here a few times and have never been disappointed. Last night I had the scallop special with fennel puree, and grapefruit salad. Sooo good. Also their razzberry mojito, - yes. Other nights I have had their little plates - 4 for 12 dollars, and the variety is wonderful. I don't understand why some people have complained about the service; I have always found it quite good. The waitress is attentive, gives good recommendations, is cheerful, and the food comes out in a timely manner. The atmosphere is low key and comfortable, and the prices, for the neighborhood, are very good.

Miriam has the most inventive assortment of middle eastern food. It's always my go-to restaurant with friends from out of town who are already bored with Italian, sushi, and usual pub fair. The ambiance is casual and comfortable and the menu has options for everyone: from small plates to hardy stews. The wine list is varied and well ranging.

You have to wait, sometimes outdoors bcs they don't have enough space inside, but the line is totally worted! Good place for a date or small group of friends, can be very busy though...

Wonderful Israeli food, nice atmosphere in a fun neighborhood. I come here every time I visit Brooklyn. The food is fantastic, fresh and authentic. It’s a nice spot for brunch and there is fun shopping nearby and outdoor seating. If you like Israeli and Mediterranean food, make this stop a priority. About $60 brunch for two of us.

We sat at the "communal" table but individuals are also available. Had a great time and the food was wonderful. Had the lamb schwarma. Fantastic! Had the sangria which got better and better with each carafe. Great staff! Nice location. Try it. Take public transportation or have a friend drive. You will want to enjoy the sangria.

We ordered food to take away. The serves were generous and they were tasty. The price was good . Would recommend

In Brooklyn for the weekend. Walked around looking for a breakfast spot and stumbled upon Miriam's. There was a line which indicated to us "must be good" and we wanted a place to sit down vs carry out. We opted to sit inside - decor was cute for a neighborhood place. The menu had our mouths watering. 2 of us chose Shakshuka, 1 opted for a healthy egg white breakfast, and 2 went for the shawarma. Food was delicious, Their Bloody Marys are made with sake which sounded good but missed the mark. Of note, family makes very good Bloody Marys so the bar is set pretty high. Where Miriam's really dropped the ball is when my brother-in-law felt something dripping on his back - oh the coffee bar/machine was leaking into the back of our booth. A nice steady stream of coffee. We called over our waiter to point it out. You would think the first thing he would do is offer us another table. Nope. At least he gave us some more napkins and paper towels, and then adjusted the coffee machine in an effort to stop the leak. Then they didn't even bother to come by to pick up the pile of coffee soaked paper towels and napkins. You would think that when you have patron who just had their back soaked with coffee, they'd be a little attentive. You would also think they would have comped his measly fried egg white on a croissant and/or Bloody Mary. Nope. I'm sure the waiter was ticked that we didn't give a 20% tip (it was $2 short of that). Maybe he figured it out as he watched my brother in law leave with a huge coffee stain on the back of his shirt.!

A regular place for us, the food is good, service is fine, and the location for us is great. It is not fancy, so suitable to just walk up. We typically do a bunch of small plates and just share. Tried the knafe dessert this time - give it a shot. Very close to Barclays if you are going of an event.

israeli whitewashed food was terrible, none of these dishes originated in isreal and simply changing the names of the food to 'isreali" doesnt change that, even the isreali salad, which in jerusalem is called an arab salad, is just weird appropriating behavior, have some decency and respect for the history behind foods and we wouldnt have this problem

Lively atmosphere and a bit of a wait on a Sunday morning. We sat at the bar and received friendly, fast service. The shakshuka and crispy bread were delicious!

Comfortable bar close to Barclay Center with best extensive choices of bar food--you can create a grand meal from the delightful choices. Great selection of white and red wines by glass. By the way, did I mention: 1/2 price during long Happy Hour! Forget about Manhattan--you and your friends will love you because of this Find!

Extensive menu, brunch 10-4 everyday, great food, pleasant atmosphere (can get noisy) and great service. Pancakes came out hot and the eggs benedict were the best we've had. Definitely will be back!

Was visiting my son and had been to this restaurant before. Now it has new owners. Menu had changed some but the food is still good. We went for happy hour. Ordered different small plates total of 8. Had glass of wine, real nice, smooth. Good eating, atmosphere great, bartender every knowledgeable. Affordable prices.

If you are looking for a hearty but healthy meal packed full of flavor than look no further than Miriam's. For my money one of the best brunch spots in NYC. The atmosphere is right and the food is superb. Try the shakshuka, the croque Madame on challah bread or the burekas. In all honesty you can't really go wrong it's just what flavor a you are in the mood for.

So I see most reviews are for the brunch, so I thought I'd let you all know the dinner is also superb, Went here a few weeks ago & the place was almost empty which I was happy about bc I wanted to enjoy a quiet Sunday evening with friends I hadn't seen in awhile. The food was so yummy, and the service was so genuinely friendly & informative. I learned about Orange wine, very interesting, and as it turned out delicious as well! I'm a NYer so I'll def be returning, my advice try Miriam's for dinner folks.

We got into NY on the late side, and headed to hotel in Brooklyn. We arrived a little late for our reservations, but were seated immediately. The owner came over and told us a bit about the restaurant and suggested some ordering strategy. Drinks arrived quickly and were delicious. We had an array of small dishes - perfect for a later dinner. I finished with their backlava and coffee and was perfectly sated. It is cozy - but very comfortable. Put it on your list.

Miriam is the 1st Park Slope restaurant I went to 4 years ago and it has been one of my favorites in Park Slope. . I looked up the best "food happy hours"( please consider bringing the old happy hour back ) in Park Slope and loved it. The food is delicious and I appreciate the menu selections. The service has always been great too. I have never been to brunch here but it must be great too cause it is always crowded for brunch..

Great Mediterranean menu, affordable prices. Reservation recommended. Loved the branzino special, Mediterranean salad, and many meze. I would like to come back for brunch and for happy hour someday.

Brooklyn restaurant serving excellent Israeli food. One of their specialties is Shasuka, poached eggs in a mildly spicy sauce served with hummus and warm pity. It is delicious. There are many other great and interesting items on the menus, both Israeli and American. Service is always friendly and professional.

everyday happy hour at the bar! Insane, I love this spot and the food and STAFF are amazing from the hostess to the bartender. I HEART the waitress Miriam.

We had a great meal here while visiting in New York. The waitress was very attentive, but not intrusive.

Breakfast or brunch is great here, especially if you are hungry for an authentic Israeli breakfast. The shashuka (poached eggs in a middle eastern tomato sauce) is excellent. So is the hummus, labanah (a yougurt type cheese much like sour cream only much better), borekas, Mediterranean crispy dough and potato pancakes. For those not adventurous, eggs, french toast, etc are on the menu as well. But why have those, which you can get at any coffee shop, when you can get the wonderful Israeli foods? The restaurant has well spaced tables so conversations are not a problem and is a charmingly decorated space. The entire wait staff is friendly and very helpful. Rafi, the owner's son stopped by our table to make sure everything was to our liking and good. This is now my go to spot for Israeli breakfasts, especially shashuka. They also serve lunch and dinner which feature many Israeli dishes as well.

I give this place an Meh Minus. Ordered the fish and it really lacked flavor. Brisket was also dry; cut too thin. Lamb burger tasted burnt. The pomegranate molasses was the highlight of the menu but couldn’t taste it on the burger. Only salt was from my tears having spent $36 for the burger. And the fries.

Three of us came for dinner on a weeknight and had a comfortable table in the front. We were given a delicious beet amuse bouche to start. Our server seemed sometimes confused, as when we asked for extra pita, a serving spoon, she repeated our requests. It took some time to get these items. The manager came over twice to see if we were ok, which was good. We ordered several items from the mezze selection and the haloumi/artichoke salad. The food was very good, but the service was lacking. Not sure we would go again, as there are many other options in the neighborhood.

There are few things as satisfying as an Israeli breakfast - delicious food to share, good conversation with friends and family. Well, Miriam gets the first half right. The food is close to authentic Israeli - salads, shakshuka, sabich - all delicious. The pita is perfect. The only tough part is the conversation - they pack em in at Miriams for brunch so the place is loud and crowded - like the shuk in Tel Aviv. Still, come early, come often. The food is excellent - a taste of Israel in Park Slope.

Yes, much of the brunch fare is familiar stuff, eggs, pancakes, etc. But the menu needs to be more thoroughly explored to be truly understood and enjoyed. We started with some of their hummus--excellent! My wife, on the recommendation of another patron, tried the fried middle eastern dough, very unusual for her. But she loved the dish, which was accompanied by eggs and a fiery Harissa, a middle eastern condiment. I had eggs over easy with wonderful multigrain toast, an Israeli green salad, and some of the best home fries ever. The toast came with some of the best homemade jam I have ever enjoyed. I also ordered a side of their incredible merguez sausage, made with lean but spicy lamb. We want to return in the evening for the full menu and some of their drink options. The space is inviting, if a tad noisy, the service is really, really good, the portions are huge, and the prices more than fair. Do yourself a favor and go.

I went to Mariam with friends for brunch and would highly recommend it. I had the lamb shawarma with basmati rice and it was quite delicious.

We walked in with a group of 13 people with no advance notice. They found a way to seat us and got orders taken and food delivered even with other people coming to join us as the meal went on. The staff never stopped smiling and even hugged my sister as we were leaving! They made a happy occasion even happier.

There is no separate page yet for the new UWS location. Had a very good soup of the day, which was a split pea concoction. Also, had a salad with a very good piece of branzino fish. We also had a very good chicken schnitzel and a rosewater milk pudding for dessert. The food is very good and light, so that you feel good when you leave. It doesn't sit in your stomach and make you feel heavy and lethargic.

77 reviews Elite ’17 5.0 star rating 11/9/2017 Really a great dinner experience. We decided to take advantage of their happy hour specials and dined at the bar. The food was absolutely delectable. The humus was just right but what impressed me most was the merguez sausage. It was spicy, but not overly so. Seasoned right with coriander that was to die for. The lamb tangine was done so well. It lit up the senses. The Israeli wine is also worth trying. The service also added a lot to the experience. The bar tender, Aleks, was passionate about food and made recommendations that we are so glad that we took. We will be coming back.... a lot.

Miriam’s exceeded my expectations. So so good!! Ezequiel Ramirez my waiter is the best!! He was the icing on the cake. He recommend the goat cheese crostini and oh my god so good. 🤤

Came here with my wife and son after a tough week of work and the waitress who despite being new had the attitude of a crusty veteran. Refused to let us order an egg on the side for our toddler even though it is on the menu. She said it would be sitting right on top of the dish in the middle of the main dish. Nice. Never came around for coffee refills or bothered to check if everything was alright. The rest of the staff seems to focus on chatting with each other rather than focusing on customers. I would never come here again.

Sunshine, nice temperatures, and outdoor dining always add to a dining experience. We had lunch at Miriam after a friend recommended the restaurant for brunch (served 10-4 weekdays and 9-4 weekends). There is lots to choose from on the menu and the portions are large. We will go back if we are in the Park Slope area.

We visited around supper time. The restaurant was not busy at that time. They informed us that they have a happy hour with an extensive menu of appetizers and drinks at half price. However, you had to sit at the bar to order from the menu. We did sit at the bar and ordered mostly from the happy hour menu. The appetizers were excellent especially the cauliflower. The chicken shawarma from the main meal was also quite good. The appetizers are quite expensive considering the size ($9). But at half price for the happy hour they were reasonable. The service was quite good but the bartender was right there at the bar. They really need to extend the happy hour so you can sit anyway and order it, not just at the bar.

I love this Chicken Schnitzel… Its huge and delicious. It's right near the Barclays stadium. So if you're going to a Nets game or seeing a concert over there this might be the best place possible to grab a bite before hand.

I went to the new Miriam restaurant on 300 Amsterdam Ave. in Manhattan. They’ve been at this new location for a couple of months. Very clean service was outstanding! The menu is very varied and colorful. Y friend and I chose to get a brunch item, for lunch. The plates were beautiful and plentiful and most important very good! Will return for some shawarma and falafel.

Beautiful, delicious, authentic Israeli restaurant. The food was fresh and had that delicious twist of northern Israel that is folksy, natural, simple. Service was very kind too. We were sorry to hear about the anti-Semitic vandalism at the sister restaurant in Manhattan this weekend. This was a food experience to remember

Had brunch here a few times and always enjoy the experience. Service, food ambiance, this place has it all. Take your time and enjoy.

Nice place in Brooklyn, busy and cheerful at lunchtime. We had excellent brunch with different kinds of omelettes, French toast, pancakes. More Mediterranean food is also available on the menu. Good atmosphere

Lovely little restaurant on 5th Avenue in Brooklyn, close to Downtown Brooklyn. There is a varied breakfast menu of Israeli breakfast items as well as regular American breakfasts. Service is always friendly, polite and professional. Coffee is very good and filled up regularly. My fallback is always their Shashuka. It is well prepare and just spicy enough, not overwhelming. It's served with a side of delicious hummus and warm, fresh pita. It's a filling meal that can hold one until dinner time. Considering the portions, the prices are reasonable.

We ended up at this restaurant when the one we planned to go to was closed. This turned out to be a very nice option. We went with a small group for brunch, which is served until 4:00pm. I had the Israeli breakfast, and it was terrific. Everyone ordered something different, and every choice turned out to be very good. If you are in Brooklyn, be sure to give this a try.

First time having Israeli food and it was very good. To start they provide bread and pickles, which is a nice way to whet your appetite. I tried a number of different mezes (small plates) and my favorites were the meatballs, the zucchini fritters, and the goat cheese and honey. The meatballs were in a pomegranate sauce and reminded me a bit of swedish meatballs. The labneh cheese alongside added a nice richness and creaminess to the dish that I quite enjoyed. The zucchini fritters were fried nicely without being greasy. The tzaziki that came with it was the perfect accompaniment. The honey and goat cheese was good, but I enjoyed it more from Sala. The shrimp was good as long as you had it with the sauce for some kick. The beef burekas and the merguez were both good, but I probably would not order these again and try other items on the menu instead. Happy hour specials start at 4pm and you get BOGO wine and beer as well as half price mezes. Definitely worth it.

Great place for breakfast or lunch. I come here for their Israeli menu selections. Their Shasuka served with hummus and warm pita is outstanding. I also love their potato latkes served with labena, an Israeli type of sour cream, only tastier. This is my come-to place in Brooklyn for Israeli food.

Loved the brunch and really enjoyed the Green Shakshuka and Jerusalem breakfast. So good! Great outdoor space and deliciously different menu.

BAD EXPERIENCE! WE SAT OUTSIDE, NOBODY WAS COMING. HUMMUS VERY GOOD, FALAFEL BURBED OUTSIDE TASTED LIKE FRIED IN VERY USED OIL. HORRIBLE TOMATOES THAT MADE THE ISRAELI SALAD MORE TASTELESS, EGGPLANT TOO FRIED. PITAS WERE WEIRD, ONE CAME FRESH AND FLUFY, OTHER TWO DRY, OLD AND TOO REHEATED. ALSO NOT SURE ORANGE JUICE WAS REALLY FRESHLY SQUEEZED LIKE THEY SAID, WAS TOO SWEET. NOT COMING BACK!

We went to Miriam for a leisurely brunch while visiting our daughter in Park Slope. While most of the menu items were a little unique, they were all delicious and much less exotic than they may have appeared. We really enjoyed the Croque Madam, the Mediterranean Crispy Dough and the Shakshuka. They were all a little different, and very tasty. We will definitely head back on our next trip to Brooklyn

Stopped in here on a recent visit to Brooklyn for a nice brunch. Ordered the omelet with shrooms, thyme and fontina and a side of the merges sausage (spicy lamb sausage). The huge, completely filled omelet was very good. The side of potatoes and salad complemented the omelet well and the sausages were every bit I had hoped for. Topped it off with some fresh-squeezed OJ and I was in heaven. And completely stuffed and not able to eat it all (I am a big guy and big eater). Would certainly recommend it for anyone with an appetite for a big, beautifully made omelet. Will definitely try it again upon my return.

Miriam has great middle eastern inspired food plus the creature comforts you'd expect from a neighborhood restaurant in Brooklyn. We went for brunch. I had herbed eggs served with Israeli salad (tomatoes and cucumbers finely diced in olive oil), labneh cheese (a cross between cream cheese and Greek yogurt) and freshly made pita. Yum!!! And not too fattening. My husband on the other hand went the fattening route - Norwegian Benedict (lox and pouched eggs and hollandaise) with yummy sautéed red potatoes. He also had a side pancake which he devoured. We were with family members who had sides of hummus - soooo good. We were with a 5-year old - the wait staff was great with her & she loved her chocolate chip pancakes. Great place! I hope to try dinner there next time I'm in town.

Food was wonderful, fresh, authentic and attractively served. Very generous portions. Lamb, red snapper on basmati rice delicious. Very tight quarters, noisy and shabby. Great service. Try it for a taste sensation, everything is good. Falafel, hummus, roasted egg plant with red peppers and goats cheese. Mmmm

I've eaten at Miriam's before and on a recent visit to Brooklyn, we decided to have brunch there. I had the French Toast, which was made with challah bread and quite delicious. It also had halvah on it, which made it even better. My daughter had the falafel platter and that was exceptionally good. The falafel was among the best I've ever had; the pita was nice and fresh and the hummus was outstanding. My husband had a mushroom omelet which he felt had too many mushrooms in it. He scraped some away, and enjoyed the rest, but truthfully, it seemed good to me but I do love my mushrooms. The coffee was good; the atmosphere and service terrific.

Wow, what a delicious dinner! The vibe is cool and comfortable. The service was good and the food was outstanding. We orderd a few tapas, all excellent. The entrees were fresh, hot, and delicious. Highly recommend!

The service and atmosphere are great. Very lively. It's always packed, but well worth the wait. You can give your name and then stroll around the area while you wait and they will text you when your table is ready. The hummus is excellent.

This is my favorite local restaurant. The food is delicious, the hummus is creamy and fresh. The plates are beautiful. The best shakshouka!. The best hummus! Brunch is served every day and you're better off trying to get in during the week. The weekend is crazy, the line is huge. Just wonderful food.

You know how it is, when in Rome, eat as the Romans do. When with a bunch of Vegetarians eat as the vegemites do. So although the chef Rafi, aka, Miriam [?] does has many an offering for us omnivores, aka carnivores, of these, I did not partake. I was going to say I was going to ask Miriam to marry me so I could then get the delicious[vegetarian] offerings on a daily basis, but now, I'll have to ask my wife to do it, now that I know Miriam is not a woman. Take that as you will. Anyway, the left side of the menu gives one a choice called "meze menu" which lists the offerings for the day at a price of about $13 for three offerings. There being three of us we got to choose nine offerings. There being only seven vegetarian offerings, there was some overlap: Great: Spanakopita, Laban [Lebanese] cheese, Burekas, and Juresalem bread. Merely very good: Zucchini cakes, quinoa salad, and beets. But then I hate beetss, so I might be prejudiced, the other two guests said I was nuts. The meal was so reasonably priced that I sprang for desert: I had the choclate volcano, excellent, and the other guest had I'm said to say, the volcano gave me sugar shock and I can't remember, only she said she loved it. Fifty two dollars for three including tax; a great value. The bathrooms are unisex and dimly lit, the decor is former bar, but very clean. I look forward to sneaking back without the vegemites to taste the meatbals, chicken and other savory offerings.

A very popular spot for lunch /brunch so be sure to arrive early or you may need to wait ....but the wait is worth it. For brunch we had Mediterrian crispy dough served with 2 eggs(any style you want), fresh tomatoes sliced, harissa and pickled vegetables on the side. Burekas ( puff pastry filled with feta, olives and labneh) served with Israeli salad and two eggs any style. Everything was delicious and all the food being served to other btables looked good as well. Our waitress couldn't have been more efficient or friendlier.

We were looking for a restaurant that had meat options but also dishes for vegetarians. Miriam fit the bill. Located on a pleasant corner a bit west of the Brooklyn Museum, Botanical Gardens and east of the Barkley Center and downtown Brooklyn, this is a very relaxed restaurant with very good food and service. It has a middle eastern flavor. There are a number of small plates/appetizers including hummus, falafel and eggplant (all great), meat and non-meat couscous dishes (great), a "cauliflower steak", and a number of chicken, fish, and other options. Most enjoyable, we would return.

but you won't be able to at Miriam's unless you are about 15 inches away from them, or are especially good at reading lips. (We were a party of 6 sitting at a rectangular table. There was zero communication between those sitting at the ends.) With the music played at top volume, the poor acoustics, and the crowd, the noise level was exceedingly high on the Sat. night we were there. The waitress had a tough time hearing us too which may have accounted for our not getting exactly what we had asked for. It was a busy night, and I am sure the kitchen was hectic, but the couscous came out a while after the vegetable dish. The food was very tasty and the ambience was cozy (minus sound issues). After having had a frustrating evening of non-socializing and just pretend-communicating (hoping that you are smiling and laughing at the right thing), the big bill was perfectly appropriate to the entire experience: discordant and out-of-sync. A less busy evening, get the waiters to turn down the volume, and it would probably be a good time.

Everything we ordered was delicious. It was tapas style, small plates to share. We didn’t order entrees. The service was impeccable. Will definitely return. Good wine selection as well.

We went to this restaurant utilizing the seated app. We were very impressed! The food was excellent. Our table had water with mint and it was great, especially for those of us that do not drink alcohol. I regret that I didn't get the chance to have hummus. I will next time for sure. I highly recommend the chicken shwarama. Service was great and the homemade harissa is not to be missed!

Nice cozy restaurant with a patio for dining in warmer weather. Israeli food is the specialty here and I love their Shashuka. It always comes out perfectly with two poached eggs in a mildly spicy tomato sauce served with a side of hummus and warm pita. I usually order a side of Lebnah, an Israeli sour cheese. It's delicious and enough to share. Service is always excellent and the prices are very reasonable.

I have a love affair with Shashuka and other Israeli food. This is my go-to place for this in Brooklyn. Located in Park Slope, this is a cute restaurant with good prices and excellent service. The wait staff is always attentive, friendly and professional. There is great Hummus and warm Pita bread. Besides Israeli specialties, there is also a regular menu of American foods, such as; Eggs Benedict, Zucchini cakes, Potato Pancakes, Chicken, Salads and more.

Yeah, go here for Sunday eats. Interesting food and friendly service. I had the burekas which had lots of great components. Only complaint is that they wanted to charge me $4 for an extra puff pastry stick which was about 3x.5 inches. Seems petty. But I’ll go back for sure.

Comfy, but crowded, Saturday brunch...6 of us with multiple dishes, and lots of warm pita with hummus...many interesting Israeli and other choices...all tasty and filling... come at the wrong time, however, and you will wait...and wait... for a seat...

I ate at Miriam on a Tuesday morning and was shocked that they were serving brunch in the week. I had the 2 eggs a la carte with a salad, potatoes and a side of bacon, it did not disappoint at all! This is probably on the best places to have brunch in Brooklyn period! Coffee also came included with the meal.

Three of us went here for a tapas-style dinner, and it was a mixed bag. The best dishes: hummus, roasted cauliflower, and zucchini cakes with tzatziki. The mediocre ones: burekas and spanakopita. A terrible one: falafel. The service was OK, but the server-recommended bread (za'atar) was so salty that it was inedible. The prices were fine, with all of this food costing $51. The atmosphere was bland.

We were between basketball games in the A-10 tournament and needed a close quick bite. This fit the bill nicely. It is hard to mess up an egg. I did try the lamb sausage, not a big fan. The eggs Benedict and poached salmon were quite tasty.

I had brunch here today, ordered the steak and eggs. The steak was great cooked well and juicy. The eggs seemed like they were egg noodles or some type of processed eggs. The meal overall was good.

Had a terrific fish special, like my mother's. Myneife had an outstanding beet salad Dessert and Espresso really special. We'll eat here again any time we're in the area. Right near Barclay Center. We had a pre concert dinner

This was a tasty characterful place with a middle eastern flavour. I had a nice feta salad. The service was good. Strong individual identity.

There simply isn't a better brunch spot in Brooklyn. A Mediterranean gem. Warm pita, labneh cheese, shakshuka. Friendly hosts & staff. I'd trade a child for the Israeli eggs recipe.

Love their shashuka, almost as good as dr shashuka on Tel Aviv, however their very Poor and indifferent service lowers the rating. Other choices are well done as well . Love the food but service is just as important

We went there and had a family late lunch. Really nice and creative modern middle-Eastern cuisine with an Israeli flair.

This is a great spot for an Israeli breakfast. I especially love their "Shashuka", it is well made, delicious and served with hummus and warm pita. We also split a huge potato pancake served with labanah, a kind of Israeli sour cream. The coffee is always good and the service is always friendly and professional. The restaurant itself is a warm and inviting place.

Yummy yummy burekas, labneh, and all sorts of other foods with names that sound funny to a goy like me. But oh so delicious. Great atmosphere, great brunch.

went there by recommendation. they have excellent white and red sangria- not too sweet, enough alcohol and fruits-yum! We got 6 appetizers for 3 adults. portions were on small side (tasty dips) but filled us until main dishes arrived. Chicken and lamb shawarmas were delicious. Fast service, relaxed atmosphere. definitely worth a try.

A wonderful small restaurant which is actually bigger than you think and can accommodate larger groups (up to 8-10). Small plates, full meals, eclectic variety of Moroccan dishes for meat eaters, fish eaters and vegetarians. We had so many dishes and loved the Miriam Hummus, handmade pita, Sizzling Shrimps, Chicken Shwarma, Cauliflower Steak, Kadaif Wrapped Shrimp, and Vegetable Couscous. And save room for the Turkish Coffee and Chocolate Volcano. Bartender is excellent and beer and wine selection more than adequate.

I had brunch recently at Miriam while visiting my daughter in New York. Our group of five enjoyed everything about the meal. I got a lovely big cup of tea with a charming accompaniment of a tiny cup of honey. Several of us got the challagh french toast and it was amazing. My daughter got the falafel platter and it was delicious. Her boyfriend got the crisp bread with eggs and loved it. The service was attentive but relaxed. Our brunch at Miriam was a wonderful start to our day in Brooklyn and Manhattan. I'm already looking forward to visiting again.

We found ourselves in Brooklyn looking for a place for dinner after visiting a local brewery and came across Miriam. We walked in and were immediately seated. We had a great meal and great service. We started by sharing a number of appetizers and enjoyed them all. The main courses were all excellent. We finished with desserts and tea and were not disappointed. We had a number of Vegetarians in our group and there was plenty for them to eat. The price was very reasonable.

This place has a fabulous brunch....love the Israeli breakfast but the line and wait can be outta control. No space to wait and if its busy its very disorganized. Food is great but go on a slow day. :-(

I ordered cappuccino and knaffi, the knaffi came with ice cream, but in the Middle East it did not come with ice cream, but it was interesting and tasty, the desserts were excellent with a smile, highly recommend

We loved the food and the great ambience with subdued lighting and wonderful Turkish-style lamps. We had an hour to eat before a wedding had booked the venue but at no time were we pressured to eat quickly. We enjoyed falalfels, fried prawns and burekas as appetizers and lamb tagine as a shared main. The burekas were a bit light on filling. Overall we enjoyed the experience and would recommend it to anyone who likes Middle Eastern food or trying something different.

We had brunch here on a rainy weekend morning. It was quite packed and loud so we couldn't have great conversation. I ordered the green shashuka and my friend ordered the shashuka. Both were very good. Portions were good sized and not too expensive.

Delicious Israeli food. the Sabich Platter was delicious. The fresh veggies were great and the hummus outstanding. the wine list is not very long and there are not many options but still enough to enjoy your meal with a glass of wine.

Amazing Mediterranean food! We especially loved the lamb shawarma, falafel, and pita bread. Top flight food and excellent service on top - highly recommend!

We ate here before a concert. Its a 5 min walk to barclays center. The food was good. I had 4 small plates which was actually too much for me. The red sangria was just ok. The menu selection is small.

We dropped in here one night as the menu sounded good and it was busy and lively. We had to wait a short while for a table but it did not take long and we were encouraged by other people being willing to wait! Drinks options were great and the meze was really good sharing food. The chicken shawarma and lamb kebabs were both excellent and filling. there was a lively atmosphere and we enjoyed our meal. The waitress seemed a little inexperienced but was friendly enough. We went back for brunch a few days later and the food was possibly even better - try the grilled chicken sandwich or merguez sandwich - huge plates of food with great fries and salad and sauces.

Not your typical menu. Loved it so much we went back twice. the line up is long on the weekend but well worth the wait and they will call you when your table is ready so we just shopped in the area and before we knew it they called us. We were a large group of 6 the second visit so it probably would not take as long for a smaller number.

We came across Cafe Miriam just by accident. We were looking for a good place for having breakfast at our first sightseeing day in New York. We had blueberry pancakes and potato pancake two eggs (any style) with labneh cheese, and Israeli salad and coffee and water, of course. It is a lovely place, the waiters are great and they were taking care of ourselves. The best place to start sightseeing in NYC, if your place is in Brooklyn. But even if your hotel or what ever is in manhatten, your reach this place very quick by taking the D Line from Manhattan to Barcleys Center. It's definetely worth it!!! :-) thx benschilada.wordpress

We visited for brunch and a takeout dinner during our holiday stay in Park Slope. We visited the restaurant for brunch and were pleasantly surprised with the menu and how good the food was. We tried several things, including the Israeli breakfast and soup of the day and they were fantastic. A few nights later we order a dinner for takeout and again the food was good. Everything from the shawarma to smaller plates. The atmosphere is vibrant and it always seemed busy, so give yourself time in case you need to wait for a table. I would definitely go back again on our next visit.

I have been here for brunch a few months earlier and returned for dinner the other day. Food was very good (again) and although there is not a huge selection of mixed drinks, the one I got was excellent. Nice wine selection as well. The service was good for the most part. The only thing I did not love was how loud the place was. It seemed that everyone was talking very loud so it was hard/impossible to have a quiet conversation and did not feel like a relaxing dinner. I liked the restaurant more than my husband. I loved fried zucchini cakes, the spanakopita and shrimp appetizer- all delicious. My chicken schnitzel was delicious but my husband's paella was just okay. I think I liked the atmosphere here more for brunch than dinner.

Staying in this area we found this little gem early on in our stay. Lovely atmosphere and very attentive service. We had the Happy Hour Tapas and Drinks. What a bargain with no faulting the tapas dishes. They were imaginative and totally delicious, washed down with sumptious wine (2 for 1 no less) what a pleasant way to spend an early evening meal. The bartender and the waiters were very attentative and really friendly. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone enjoying good value for money but with exceptional menu choices. We went back 2 or 3 times during our stay as it was so good.

Highly recommend the vegetables and couscous . Fabulous vegetarian stew - perfectly prepared and seasoned. Enjoyable ambience and courteous wait staff. Definately would revisit

The old place was better and less forced. No go for dinner.

This is the second time me and my husband have been to Miriam's. After finding this gem by serendipity, we could not wait to go back. We love dining out and we usually don't go to the same place twice. We like discovering new things, however Miriam's is special. Of course there is the food. We've discovered their splendid lamb and sausage at last visit. This visit we were blown away with a simple yet incredibly gratifying dish: meatballs in a flavorful sauce surrounded by just the right amount of labneh. Labneh is an amazing soft yogurt cheese that can be described as tangy and creamy. I don't think I've had it in the states. This was a perfect dance of flavors. The dessert was also satisfying without being too decadent. Matched with desert wine which is not like anything that I have tasted. Aroma of freshly cut green grapes on the nose with a taste that feels medium body with just the right amount of sweetness. The service is also incredible. They make you feel as if you're a guest rather than a customer. They understand and love food, but also their public and I feel this when I was there. It's rare that you wake up a Thursday morning at six am and you still can't get yesterday's dinner out of your mind. Thanks for making us feel so good.

Great place! Don’t miss it. A taste of home far away from home. Wonderfull food and love the Israeli music and food. I got recommend and i don’t regret that. Fresh humus doing at place

One of the best breakfasts we've ever had--super fresh ingredients and a really creative menu. Try the Israeli breakfast with a side of beef sausage. The side dishes are unusual and perfectly prepared. We went two or three times during a week-long stay in Brooklyn.

I visited on both Friday and Saturday for brunch. The service both times was great. The Israeli breakfast was spot on, although not quite as colourful as you'd get in Tel Aviv. The shakshuka was pretty bland, unfortunately, but edible nonetheless.

Fresh and delicious cuisine and excellent service. It was a Mother's Day treat to be at Miriam's for Brunch! Service was great ant the outdoor seating added to the enjoyment. The menu is excellent for all- kids and elders included. Come to Brooklyn and eat here!

I eat a lot of Israeli food and this place hits a reliable standard. I wouldn't say anything is a knockout, and the presentation is pretty simple. The cocktails are good, average for the area. Service can be a bit slow and tables can be hard to come by on busy times, but when I need a solid shakshuka I'll still drop by.

Great place for tapas and the sangria is fabulous! We had an array of different tapas and one was better than the other. We loved the dark decor and the great tapestries. The place was busy but not packed. I think they take reservations so its a good idea to make one. Great for groups, couples, etc. They also have a nice bar area as well. Great place in the Park Slope neighborhood.

Israeli food is great there, very authentic, like you are in Tel Aviv! One of the best places in New York that visited.

Rip off. Food decent, but overpriced

Of the two I prefer their brunch, but neither is anything to sneeze at. Shakshuka is wonderful, shawarma is excellent, the hummus has just the right touch of roughness in the smooth texture. In a neighborhood full of restaurants, walk a little farther for this one. I wish I were there this minute.

We went to Miriam a few weeks ago and had an outstanding evening, the food was great, the service was even better. I'll start saying thanks to Rebecca A. for her friendly and very competent service. She was always smiling, and she knew everything about the menu, being able to recommend great food when we asked for, after explaining what kind of food that we like. There was a good availability, we booked our table around one hour before arriving. Once again, the food was excellent!! I had a delicious Lamb Shawarma and shared some mazes with my wife. Actually, the mazes were so good that she decided not to order a main course, she ate just mazes that evening. Miriam is a gem in the heart of Brooklin, a place you must visit if you like middle eastern food.

Miriam in Brooklyn has to be one of the worst restaurants I’ve ever been to. First of all, the place was completely empty, and now I know why—no one in their right mind would willingly eat here. The tables were sticky, the floors looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in days, and the overall vibe screamed neglect. It honestly felt like they don’t even care about maintaining basic hygiene. The staff? Rude beyond belief. When we asked simple questions about the menu, they acted like we were inconveniencing them by just being there. It was like they couldn’t wait for us to leave, which, honestly, we couldn’t either. As for the food, calling it terrible would be generous. It was bland, stale, and seemed like it had been sitting out for hours. It’s shocking they even have the nerve to serve this to paying customers. Avoid this place at all costs—it’s dirty, the staff is unprofessional, and the food is awful. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, not even as a last resort.

This place is always busy for brunch and I know why... the selections was just right. It was different , it was unique. Every dish was good. I did know that this would be a thing.

The food is a nod to Israel and the Middle East But really not more than a nod. Lots of shellfish. The Bouillabaisse is of course French and so is most of the wine list. Surprised they don’t have even one Israeli wine. If you eat a Kosher diet this place is not for you. The vibe is not even middle eastern, it’s a pretty generic neighborhood bistro, and it’s not a pretty place. Perfectly fine neighborhood time-out but not a destination. Seems like they are resting on some laurels. At least upgrade the flatware, guys and don’t bring main courses to a table full of empty starter plates. Didn’t feel like they are making an effort. Has potential but needs a burst of energy.

A hidden gem! You can't miss this reasonably priced but delicious Israeli establishment! The food was scrumptious, fresh, and incredibly flavorful: every dish—the cauliflower, hummus, falafel, spanakopita, squash, Brussel sprouts, meatballs, crostini. The service was excellent, and the staff warm and attentive. A must-go!

I've traveled a lot and been to many restaurants - the cous cous here is amazing... Everyone was happy with their meal, and the service was outstanding! Highly recommend this place!

Miriam is the right combination of everything. Great location, fabulous food and super service! Miriam is close enough to the Brooklyn Museum and down the street from the Barclay Center

My husband, daughter and I happened to stop in Miriam's for lunch (which they call brunch). The restaurant is pretty--their light fixtures are really beautiful. Service was great; everyone was very friendly. I had the chicken shawarma--a very large serving of delicious chicken with a lot of sauteed spinach, grilled pita, green tahini, broiled tomato--very nice. My daughter had the chicken schnitzel sandwich. Again, it was a very large serving, nicely cooked chicken with a purple cabbage slaw. She enjoyed it. My husband got the shakshuka--poached eggs in a spicy tomato sauce. It came with fabulous hummus and fresh, hot pita. Definitely a good place to stop!

Yes, Miriam does brunch, the long lines prove worthy. However, its wonderful for dinner. I love that I can make the experience feel light and relatively healthy (no health claims here). I often just order the meze and enjoy a plethora of flavors. Some of my favorites include the labaneh cheese, humus, quinoa and watermelon & feta tartar - all with delicious za'atar bread. I've never been disappointed by the main courses and especially like the whole fish.

I would give this five stars, but their credit card policy is annoying. They expect you to tip on the credit card fee on top of what you have ordered. You have to look at your check carefully to see this. If they want to charge a credit card fee, so be it, but please be more transparent.

A group of 8 went to Miriam's before The Hard Nut at BAM. Easy location for Barclay Center too. We started with 8 mezze plates. Waitress was very helpful guiding the selection. 3 couples split either a cous cous or an entré. I had the lamb roast special. Very tender and flavorful. Unfortunately we didn't have time to try deserts. We almost didn't try it because of reviews on Yelp. After checking TA Miriam's looked like worth trying. Glad we did.

Dropped by Barcalys on Jun 8 to check out Paul McCartney perform, had to avoid the 40/40 club (it was more of avoiding the people & prices that the 40/40 draws than the food there) and ate at Miriams. Was a surprisingly short walk from the stadium. Around 5-7 minutes. Had a ressie via opentable for 6:45pm, so needed to kill some time. There was supposed to be an open bar there, but they killed it because the restaurant got booked for the concert. Owner was cool about it. He gave us recommendations on other places up the street to catch some drinks before dinner. So we headed out and got happy on some rum and gin. We were getting hungry, so we came back at around 6:30pm and the owner was cool again. He hooked us up with a table (it was mad packed now). Owner was chill, not stuck up or anything like that. He is the main reason why the rating is 4 instead of 3. Of course, the food had to be good to. And it was. Flat bread and pickles that came out as a starter was good. The pickles were good. They looked sour (I don't like sour), but they were more salty than sour. Tasted like half-sours, but looked like mega ripe sour and accompanying chewy (not crispy) texture. Kinda tricks your mind. I asked for more- I like tricking my brain like that. We got the steak (special of the day) and the chicken kebab. And the Mediterranean salad. The salad was good. I've had my share of "Mediterranean" salads, and this one was up there. The chicken was very flavorful (tasted corriander? in it, among other spices). The steak, the special of the day was kinda eh... ordered it medium and it came more like medium well (proly let it sit too long before serving it). But it was a special of the day, so hit or miss. I'd stay away from their specials and stick to the regular menu. Food was a solid 8. I've eaten at a lot of places around the world, and these scores are all relative to your experiences, so an 8 is a very high score for me to dole out. This will be my go-to dining spot for future trips to Barclays up in BK. Gets my "Good Stuff" rating. And just happy I avoided the 40/40 club inside. It's better than the one in Flatiron, but hell-to-tha-no on 40/40 prices and crowd.

It was our first time in a israli restaurant and the experience was amazing. the environment and the music was excellent, a very cozy place. The staff was very nice and the food was really good. we recommend it 100%.

*Review for drinks by the bar only* Happy hour until 8, even on a Saturday? I am there! My friend and I came in on a Saturday night at around 7 pm or so because we had some time to kill before the Shania Twain concert at Barclays. Neither of us were super hungry, so we just wanted to order some drinks. To our luck, the wines were BOGO free. We went with some rosés. I can't remember which ones we tried, but the first one we had was not great. The second was better, so if you can, ask them for a taste before you commit. Tip - link your credit card on Yelp, and you get 5 percent cash back!

We had a breakfast and we tried Mediterranean dishes. Everything was great, the falafel, the humus, the Mediterranean salad and even the coffee was good. I strongly recommend this restaurant

Very good, very nice staff and accommodating to mix the dishes. A beautiful discovery Spice tastes at will

This is for Miriam UWS location. Great neighborhood, trendy restaurant with great ambience, delicious food and super cocktails. From falafels to shrimp app to salad, Brussels sprouts and short rib- nothing we wouldn’t get again! And the martini- done just right!

This is a great place to eat. With all ages groups represented here, you know it meets it's customers needs. The on-site brews are very delicious

A friend and I were in Brooklyn for a couple days and someone had mentioned Miriam as a possible brunch spot. Although we preferred the typical bagels in NY breakfast, we decided to take a look. And wow- we made the right decision! The entire staff was friendly and helpful during our entire meal. The food was delicious and fresh, and the environment is a perfect spot for a nice sunny day or a rainy day. We could have sat there all day long. Overall it may have been the best decision all day, and one of the best meals we all the whole trip!

We had dinner at the new Miriam in Manhattan on Amsterdam Ave./74th St. It was terrific! Our meal was interesting, fresh, and very tasty. We had the silky smooth hummus as an appetizer, and then I had grilled branzino and my husband had short ribs. Each bite was more delicious than the last. The accompaniments with each main dish were as wonderful as the entrees, and I’ll make special note for the celery purée that came with my fish. Who knew celery purée could be so notably delicious?! As someone with a relatively small appetite, I usually have to plan which part of a meal I will have to sacrifice/leave behind, depending on which part I like the least. At Miriam, that was impossible. I could not decide what to leave behind so I ate every last drop.

Whenever I yearn for an Israeli breakfast, I head to Miriam’s in Brooklyn. My favorite choice is Shasuka, poached eggs swimming in a delicious, slightly spicy tomato sauce served with delicious hummus and warm pita. There are also burekas, falafel, eggplant salad, Israeli salad, labneh and many other breakfast foods. Service is always great, portions are ample and prices are very reasonable.

We were staying nearby and so we ate at Miriam a couple of times, and were really impressed both times. First we went for a brunch on a Sat morning, the place was busy so we sat up at the bar. Great coffee, even better steak and eggs and omelettes. The second time was late at night when we popped in for a dessert, coffee and a glass of wine, again good service and good food. Friendly staff and nice vibe, recommended.

Brunch items looked quite interesting on the menu and as they passed by. Since I love and make shakshuka at home, I wanted to try something new. But our group went to lunch items. Choices were less inspired. Seemed kind of expensive for what you got. It is very noisy so 4 people have difficulty hearing each other.

Visited here for a small family meal and we had a great time. The best thing about this restaurant is the intimacy of it. The food was good too. I’d recommend this restaurant if you’re in the area.

went with a party of 6 for brunch. got seated quick because we showed up at 10:30am. food was delicious. portions enormous. sake bloody mary was a standout, as were the home fries and the croque madame. my benedict was tasty (though this is standard in Bklyn). menu has some israeli inspired breakfast options that provide some interesting alternatives to traditional ny brunch. not my favorite spices for breakfast but my friend loved his burekas (stuffed pastry pockets)

The food was absolutely delicious - especially the labneh and herbed eggs! Unfortunately, terrible service affected, what could have been, a fabulous experience. Our water glasses were laced with lipstick prints, and when asked for new drinks, our waitress sighed as if our request was an inconvenience. Her attitude left much to be desired in the way of personality and enthusiasm. We'd have just as well gone back to the kitchen to retrieve our dishes ourselves. The young man who delivered our meals was much more pleasant, and I'm certain that he didn't benefit from our tip. I certainly hope that we caught the staff of Miriam on an off day, and that this type of service isn't customary.

great brunch - great service - wonderful combination of flavors. Didn't feel rushed out, even on a Sunday morning. Nice iced espresso to boot...and I'm picky.

WOW! I have only eater here for brunch, but last night stopped in for dinner. The menu was varied and interesting. The food was really amazing with such fresh flavoring and subtle use of just the right amount of everything. The 3 diners all ate different meals and we were all happy! Just a note... the wait staff here is AWESOME!!! Knowledgeable and friendly!!! EAT at Miriam!!!

Came here for dinner before an event at Barclay Center. We were accomodated even though we didn't have a reservation. My husband is a picky non vegan vegetarian and there was plenty on the menu for him to choose from. The service was very good as was the food. The owner took the time to greet each table. The restaurant filled up quickly so the next time we go, I will be sure to make a reservation.

Our son introduced us to Miriam on our first night in Brooklyn. The service was warm and gracious, the menu varied, and the food delicious. We loved the vibe--Middle Eastern decor and great music from the '70s. I had the Sweet Potato Gnocchi and we all shared appetizers from the Meze Menu, four for $14--a great way to sample various items. It was a memorable meal. We ended up going back a few days later--our first meal in Brooklyn and our last meal in Brooklyn--and had a delicious brunch. And somehow the waitress remembered us from three nights before although it was very busy. It created an intimate atmosphere in the big city. As an added bonus, the prices were comparable to what we would spend dining out in Dubuque, Iowa! We look forward to going back on our next visit.

Went to eat Sunday Brunch with my wife and 9 year old and was really looking forward to it. The guy on reception though clearly had other ideas he took one look at us and said "no tables" when we pressed him he then said either a 50 min wait or "possibly" a table at the bar. When my wife suggested that seating a 9 year old at the bar was not the most appropriate he shrugged and then proceeded to give a table to some 20 something year old young women. Disgusted, we left, clearly Miriam's has an idea of the clientele they are willing to allow and we don't fit, i'm just glad we didn't spend any money there.

This was our first experience with Israeli Mediterranean Cuisine! We asked our server "Marco" for assurance and confirmation on our selections. Marco was excellent! We started with the flatbread appetizer and one Mediterranean salad to share. We ordered one entree, the chicken schnitzel, which came with an Israeli salad, pickled beets and mashed potatoes. Everything was delicious and the two over sized portions of chicken was more than we could eat!!! I wanted the full Israeli experience, so of course I ordered a bottle of Israeli red wine. It was "Meishar ", Vineyard 41, SAMSON 2008. It was a perfect blend of Shiraz, Merlot and Cabernet. I will totally recommend this quaint restaurant for a great meal and wonderful dining experience! Ask for Marco and he will surely take care of you too!
Off the charts obnoxious wait service
Whoever goes here should be forewarned that the wait staff has an attitude. My pancakes were fine, nothing special. Other food at the table was good to very good. When I asked the waiter what the soup of the day was, he said "butternut squash but we're not known for our soup" in a somewhat mocking tone. I asked why he said that and he questioned why I was asking about soup and not one of their "awesome brunches". Then when he refilled my coffee cup with cold coffee, before the food arrived, I didn't say anything, not wanting to get more attitude, and i let the full cup sit. At the end of the meal, I asked for a fresh cup of coffee. He brought it for me, then at the same exact time, two other waiters brought me additional fresh cups of coffee 10 seconds apart. So as the third cup arrived side by side with the other two, my wife told them these extra cups were not necessary. The response: "this is what we do when a customer with a full cup of coffee orders more." How thoroughly obnoxious. I won't go back. I prefer eating at places who show a little respect for customers paying $$$ for brunch.
