It ruined our trip

By J-Knoblauch |

We had ordered the buffet for our 50 people delegation from Germany. There was very little food. I had some potatoes and thats it. When we asked the person in charge she said "This is no all you can eat buffet". Then she said: Maybe you are more people than you ordered. I invited her to count the numbers. She than said "I get you the menu and you can eat a la carte". For a buffet (77 Dollar including gratuity, no drinks) this is very strange. Just to eat potatoes is not what I had expected. We have taken much care in preparing this event. At the end 50 people wrote nasty comments in our evaluation sheet. It ruined our trip.

Nice visit

By travelingnonrev |

Went there 3/22/15 had some cocktails on the deck and shared a bowl of clam chowder which very tasty. The view was very nice looking at the working shipyards. Be sure you lock your car and hide your valuables because I noticed a lot of broken vehicle glass on the street.

Brunch --- amazing

By nlcd |

This is my favorite place to go for brunch because I like to get in my car on Sunday and not have to circle for parking. This is my place because I have two dogs and they just love our 4 legged friends. If you don't like dogs, don't eat here if you want to eat outdoors because there are always several on the patio. On a beautiful day, it's magnificent. Bloody Mary(and it's good). A Shandy. Or just Coffee in the mornings. Bring a book or newspaper. Enjoy the good service and wonderful views. I like the beef has but the last one the eggs were poached and way too "cold". Had to send it back. The biscuit is hearty and good. Decent crab louie Calamari -- nicely done French Toast - decent Burger with Fries -- not the best in SF but good. I think it needs more salt. Veggie Egg Scramble -- I think they took it off the menu but it use to be my go to breakfast. Everything is pretty reasonable for brunch. Well worth a try. Just don't tell others about it as it is still easy to get in but if more people hear about it.....there will be lines and need to make a reservation. So let's keep this between us.

Great recommendation -great choice – great venue

By Chris T |

Hosted an event on September 14 at Mission rock resort. Arranged everything from the other side of the United States. Was worried that things would not come off as planned. No worries at all. Cole the manager was extremely helpful. The bar and wait staff were tremendous. The venue extremely pleasing. The food and beverage is excellent. Would strongly recommend to anybody planning a visit to the San Francisco area

Incredible Setting

By msR594UQ |

Worth going out of your way for. Great seafood and oyster bar, but a menu with something for everyone. Some of the most amazing outdoor dining on the Bay. Very friendly and professional service.

Nice view of water

By MessyBun2020 |

We came here on a Saturday afternoon. The outdoor patio is nice and you have a view of the water, but it's not a spectacular view, just water and some boats. The oysters were excellent, french fries were great and the wine was perfect. Good afternoon spot for a bite and a drink.

Found- you guys rock!

By texanaussie |

We had dinner here for a long-overdue catch up with family. Food and service were great. We left an envelope behind by accident. It could have easily been thrown away, but they found it, which led to an equally great brunch the next day. The outdoor seating was great, too- toasty warm even though freezing outside (in the summer!). Thank you all for EVERYTHING!

Not clean enough.

By ycomtom |

Mission Rock Resort has an industrial location on the San Francisco Bay. Indoor and outdoor seating can be pleasant, depending on the weather. The seafood heavy menu offers small plates, and a nice selection of very fresh oysters. The oysters are fine, and wine by the glass or beers are the featured drinks. Salads are mundane, though substantial. Pretty good so far. The bill for two with 6 oysters was $110.00 plus tip. Service is adequate. The entire place needs a steam cleaning. The restrooms smell like urine, and the rough plank tables are very sticky. The floors and carpeted stairway are well worn and shoddy.

Disappointed

By maryofnavarre |

Average but expensive. The hamburger was served half raw and cold. Fish and chips were good. Crab sandwich was mostly mayo and not much crab. Service was unexceptional. $140 for four people for average food.

Loved it!

By myfamilystravelagent |

We had something to celebrate and decided to visit Mission Rock Resort for the first time. What a great night! Pretty views out the window, tasty food (with wide choices), good prices, and a fun atmosphere. We'll be going back again soon.

Amazing happy hour oysters!

By Lebammel |

We came here with another couple on a Friday around 5pm. The restaurant has a beautiful view of the water. It's just down from AT&T Park. The couple that we went with chose this place for the happy hour special - $1 oysters. They were delicious. Right sized and great salty flavor. Our main food was ok - not memorable but not terrible. I think we all enjoyed the oysters so much we don't remember much else!

Perfect relaxed lunch

Went here last day of San Francisco trip relaxed food great menu and cocktails Service laid back and friendly Best restrooms

Waterfront Deck & Bar

By Michael M |

Nestled in the Mission Bay neighborhood of San Francisco is this restaurant, with a nice waterfront bar and deck. On a recent visit to the city, I was brought here to have a round of drink to watch the sunset. My review is purely of the bar and deck, which appears to operate semi-separately than the main restaurant, but also services light bites . There are some signature drinks offered , as well as a full bar. There are happy hour specials such as $1 oysters. I had a classic margarita, who he was good. I also ordered shoestring herb fries, which were good as well. The service was also good with the fun and friendly staff at the bar area. The best part of this place was the waterfront view and deck.

Excellent choice to go in San Francisco

By Tim K |

Went here by surprise with a friend and must say excellent choice. The location a bit outside but very nice at the water and nice terrace and view as well. We ordered some various of small dishes and the food was really excellent. Will definitely go again

Nice, casual restaurant on the waterfront

By Bogie400 |

We had a nice outdoor table at Mission Rock. There are heat lamps for cool nights. There is a great view of the waterfront. Menu is pretty varied, food was good. It is in a relatively, new and upcoming neighborhood, so we had a bit of trouble getting an Uber back to our Hotel.

Nice views without the typical clatter.

By hawaiigo |

We enjoyed a late afternoon treat of drinks and fresh oysters along with excellent fresh creamy mozzarella with heirloom tomatoes, strongly recommend. I had a mojito that was refreshing while reasonable. My husband's arnold palmer was often refilled. The service was attentive enough and eager to please. Over all a nice experience worth repeating.

Good Off the Beaten Path Restaurant

By ClintPage |

Had brunch here recently and it was good. It's in kind of a cool spot in San Francisco that not many tourists go out by the ild docks with some unique views of the city. Food and service were good.

Back again

By S D |

Visited this Restaurant again after 2 years and it still lived up to my previous review great service good sea food highly recommend again

Great Lunch in Perfect San Francisco Setting

By sharon c |

.4 miles from UCSF Mission Bay, where our grandson was having surgery. We ran over for quick lunch and some stress relief. The food was fresh and delicios. The tacos were wonderful, crab was lovely and the clam chowder yummy. The bread pudding was decadent and worth a trip back to the city to have again. Draft beers were nice as well! Highly recommend.

Lunch over looking the bay

By Rocketdogscout174 |

Yesterday some friends and I for lunch, at Mission Rock Resort ,a long wait for an outside table overlooking the water, but well worth the wait,we ordered their incredible high end bloody Mary's as we waited for our table, ,the best Bloody Mary I have had in a long time ,came with a nice strip of bacon and olives, onions etc, well worth the price at $16, we were seated on the deck and ordered crab Benedict ,which was well worth the trip fresh crab freshly made hollandaise sauce over a perfect poached egg,on a toasted English muffin ,this is a must for Sunday Brunch, in the heart of the Dog patch and UCSF research labs, what ever you do on your next visit to our City by The Bay ,don't miss lunch or brunch at Mission Rock, the food and Service excellent

Delicious Eggs Benedict

By Layne O |

I remembered the Eggs Benedict from a previous visit, and they are still just as good. I definitely recommend. I wasn't too excited about the classic Bloody Mary. Maybe I should have tried one of their specialty bloody Mary's for $15. Service was very attentive considering we went on Mother's Day. We had to ask that the outdoor overhead heaters be turned off as it was just too warm to be comfortable. Again, our server complied with the request. I'll certainly return. Nice view on the water.

Waterfront Restaurant

By Avantika S |

The ambiance is great! It is right on the water and is a perfect brunch spot. They have great seafood. I would recommend their oysters! they looked amazing and everyone was getting them (allergic to shellfish) The lighting during the day makes for some great pictures. The staff is sweet but service could be a little faster. Make sure to make a reservation for the patio for brunch they are usually full. TIP: Sit outside on the upstairs patio if the lower one is closed.

lovely view and the food surpasses that!

By Janet P |

What a well kept secret...but sitting on the deck and enjoying a wonderfully prepared brunch with friends, we knew we had found a gem and will be back...

Mission Rock Resort never fails me!

By Jamie G |

This has become my go to for weekend brunches with a group. LOVE that you can actually make a reservation and a wait for outside has never been too bad - especially considering their great drinks that are available for the wait. I've tried many of their dishes but you can't go wrong with any of the eggs Benedict options or fish and chips. Best place to be on a sunny weekend morning!

Lots of great things to say

By Buzzard100 |

Lots of great things to say about this experience. First, how about the view? Second fabulous great brunch Bloody Mary. Then, amazing oysters and a burger and fries to die for. Well, I would return in a heart beat.

Great views - Good Sea Food

By Carl B |

Early dinner on deck on 1/29/2103. Interesting view of USS Mercy Hospital Ship and SF Bay. The clam chowder, swordfish and seafood linguine were all vey good. an overall very enjoyable experience. moderately priced for San Francisco. Also this restaurant tis within long walking distance of AT & T Park for when the giants make their next world series run. Outside is a wall made from the bleachers of the old Cal Bears stadium.

Get the Fish

By Takemetoalaska |

My husband ordered the burger and was not impressed. If you’re going to charge those prices, than it better be an amazing burger. I had the sole and it was amazing! The caper and white wine sauce was on point. Even the spinach and potatoes were excellent. We ordered the small raw bar sampler. While it was delicious (especially the ceviche), it was pricey! It was $65 for 3 clams, 6 oysters, 4 shrimp, and ceviche. We missed the fact that they have $1 oysters up until 7:00 pm or we would’ve come earlier. We sat outside and you can see a view of the water and old shipping boats. I don’t think we’d return unless we came for happy hour oysters.

Boozy brunch by the bay

By woodsy_al |

We go here for brunch. Many times, it is sunny and warm here when the rest of SF is overcast and dreary. The brunch menu is great with a seafood tilt, but also most regular brunch items. The full bar serves generous Bloody Marys and more. If the weather is at all decent, try to sit outside where you have a great view of the Bay Bridge and Oakland. The vicinity is decidedly run down and industrial which is reflected in the look and feel of the restaurant.

Delicious food and wonderful view

By Nancy B |

After a friendly welcome from the rceptionist, we were shown to our table on the deck with a perfect view. It was a cool evening and we asked to have the heaters switched on, which made all the difference. We had the seafood plateau between 3, which was perfect. The fish tacos were great . Our waiter was very courteous and made good suggestions regarding our main courses, wine, and desserts. Highly recommend.

Good food with plentiful outdoor seating

By AprilFool27 |

We chose this restaurant as it was close in the Mission Bay Area of the city and had ample outdoor seating. It was nice being outside on such a beautiful day; however, the view is not wonderful due to the boatyard. My husband and I enjoyed our meal. We both had clam chowder with sourdough bread. The bread cam warm which was nice. I had the sole dinner and my husband had the crab Mac n cheese. For dessert, we shared the butter cake. Everything was good; although, we especially liked the butter cake. Service was attentive. This is a good choice if you are in the area.

Great Dinner

By cherrybelle77 |

Enjoyed a lovely dinner here before our concert at Chase. The wait was a little long considering we had a 5:45 reservation and didn't get seated until 6:20 but I get it they probably need to get used to the new surge of reservations with the Chase center just opening. However service was excellent all smiles and apologies for the wait. The food was delicious I had the Cioppino one of my favorite dishes to get when in SF the flavor of there's was very good only thing is I wish it had more clump crap meat vs the shredded but over all a good dish, it comes with a Asiago cheese toast but you really just need the good old SF sourdough to soak up all the delicious broth. My husband had the blacked salmon with jambalaya rice and really enjoyed it. This will be a great restaurant to have a nice dinner before anything at the Chase center. Beautiful view wish we could have sat outside but it was so busy can't be promised but even from inside you have a view of the bay.

Happy , happy hour

By Marishechka |

It was 4 of us enjoying this rainy afternoon by treating ourselves to happy hour . We got a table with a water view which was really pleasant . From the large window you can see a great part of the Bay by Dog Patch area . The restaurant itself has a very pretty setting right on the water and when weather is sunny and warm it’s great to sit on the patio under the umbrella and enjoy fresh air and the sunshine. We usually do that when weather is permitting. Bieber, this time around we were inside because of the rain . We went there for oysters and white wine. Between hours 5-7 you can get oysters at $99 each . So we did ordered 2 dozens of the oysters and 2 bottle of white , some black mussels with French fries, 2 portions of fish tacos ( 3 tacos fir each portion) which was dissent amount of food for 4 of us. We really enjoyed our happy hour dinner. The service was very attentive and pleasant. Overall I would recommend this place fir the patio sitting with a view and happy hours food .We had a great time .

Dinner before a concert

By Joe T |

A great dinner! Appetizers of calamari & crab mac & cheese were fantastic. Service was ok. The food was outstanding. Our server was a little slow and the restaurant was not busy for a Monday night.

New Years on the water!

By Karen O |

Friends of my husband and I met in the city for New Years. We went to Mission Rock Resort for oysters and dinner before the festivities. We were welcomed warmly and Satyva was an attentive server who knew exactly what we would want. She had a good grasp of the wine and bar menu as well as the oysters and food. We had a great time and the oysters and fries were great.

Good Spot on the Water

By Kris132 |

Mission Rock has a great location on the water, San Francisco Bay. It is in the Dogpatch neighborhood of SF, just South of AT&T Park. If you go, make a reservation for an outside table either upstairs or down. The food is good, and this is a great spot for lunch or brunch.

Superb seafood in a super location

By Herschelian |

Last night we strolled to the nearby oyster bar and grill, Mission Rock Resort. Apparently it has recently opened on the site of a much earlier place with the same name. It has been beautifully designed in keeping with its waterfront setting, and though we were there on a December evening, it was easy to see what a great place this would be to enjoy a meal in the summer, sitting on the spacious terrace looking out over the Bay. All the action was taking place on the upper floor as numbers are obviously not yet up to what they are aiming for, but service was warm and friendly and the four of us plus infant were made very welcome and shown to a window table with beautiful view of the full moon rising across the water. A highchair was provided without us even having to ask for one for my grandson. Just after we had placed our orders another family member arrived unexpectedly, and without any fuss the staff joined another table to ours so everyone was comfortably accommodated The menu offered various seafood options including six varieties of oyster, salads, chowder, main courses, pastas and cioppino. There was a meat section on the menu but none of us even looked at it - the seafood was what we wanted! There is a carefully chosen wine list, plus all the bar drinks and cocktails you could wish for, and we had a bottle of delicious Californian Fume Blanc which slipped down a treat. We started with a selection of oysters, and a sharing plate. of the calamari which absolutely melted in the mouth. My 13 month-old grandson took to calamari like a duck to water and particularly enjoyed the tentacles! As it is the height of the Dungeness crab season, three of us chose the Crab Cioppino - huge bowls of savoury tomato and fennel broth brimming with clams, mussels, tuna, prawns and a mound of crab meat accessorised with toasted garlic bread...silence decended on the table as we all tucked in. Everybody thought the food was great; the portions were huge - something we Brits are not used to, and so we were too full to even contemplate a dessert. For anyone in the Mission Bay area, this is a must. We may go back for brunch before we leave SF.

Typical bar food - staff not wearing masks.

By EndlessVoyage |

The restaurant, even on its very nice enclosed deck is not really COVID safe for kids 0-4. Staff weren’t wearing masks and leaning over to talk to toddlers making their moms really nervous. The food was pretty basic bar food. It had a big Warriors maskless crowd while we were there that you have to pass through to get to your table. We were the only people anywhere in masks to our table. Food arrived except one person and we asked several times. When the waitress came she said “It wasn’t my fault” . Well, she could have followed up earlier and seemed to be avoiding the table. Some of us were finished by the time his food came. Would I return - in a city with great food? - probably not.

they serve Maui Brewing beer BIKINI BLONDE

By maloke2014 |

Feels like home with my bikini blonde. They also have the best fried calamari (IMHO) and my wife and I have tried all over the bay area and Maui island. It has been a while but planning on going back when the weather is warm. Not used to the cold SF weather.

Fabulous experience!

By Scott G |

I had a birthday happy hour at Mission Rock Resort last night and I just had to share how awesome everyone was there. Without even booking the back room, they gave it to us and reconfigured it so my friends could mingle, sit, eat or whatever. They gave us our own server (Megan) who was super and the other staff were great as well. The room was overlooking the bay and was a huge hit with my friends. Pete the GM and Katherine the hostess were very accommodating and very cool to deal with. The happy hour prices were inexpensive, and the food we ordered was delicious. An absolute perfect evening!

Lovely setting by the bay

By Helen B |

We just stopped by for drinks and a snack, we were not disappointed. The setting right on the bay sets it apart and makes it a good place to visit. Staff were friendly and beer was good. Food would be very tempting for seafood lovers.

One of my favorite places near work

By jchiang2913 |

Have been here many times, mostly for lunch, for celebrations, to meet with colleagues. Also attended an event in the evening (retirement party) and it feels entirely different at that time, with cooler temperatures, sunset over the Bay, and capability to throw a really nice private party.

Great Brunch on Outdoor Bayfront Deck

By marksocal |

The location can't be beat for brunch on a warm SF day. The outdoor deck is right on the bay with views of the waterfront and clear to the East Bay. Food is good, and make sure to get s Bloody Mary. Service is generally good. Bar is lively, with TVs for the game and an oyster bar too.

Fabulous Food!

By JSRanch |

We stopped spontaneously at this restaurant last week. It is not much to look at from the outside, so we thought we were really taking a gamble. What a wonderful find!! The food was absolutely fantastic! The menu had plenty of seafood options, and creative combinations. Who has ever heard of shrimp and grits?!! What an amazing combination the chef created! This is definately a restaurant worth stopping for!

Sit on the outside deck, ejoy the viw and food

By David H |

Sitting on the deck in the beautiful sunshine enjoying the view, chilled wine a beautiful lunch. Great way to visit San Francisco.

Wharf dining without the crowd

By beenthere001 |

I took my girlfriend to the Mission Rock Resort so she didnt have to be in the crowds of fishermans wharf. I love this place. Off the beaten path of most tourists in San Francisco- this is a hidden gem. Great oysters and crab and the cocktails were amazing. We were there on a warm day and had oysters, crab cocktail and this cucumber lime and vodka drink that was so refreshing. Loved watching the boats go by- and Not being attacked by seagulls while dining outside. Great service and a wonderful place to hang with friends or family.

Great food and booze

By Rocketdogscout174 |

This is the great destination its off the grid and the old fashioned style, and service is perfect, no upmarket ideas just good food over looking our bay ,go early as very busy ,hard to get a table, their bloody mary's with bacon are a must the eggs Benedict are just simply great, avoid the place next door nice view but poor food, enjoy Mission Rock, I highly recommend it ,Scout

China Basin Classic

By Mike8641 |

Great location, especially if the weather allows you to sit outside. Very good bar and excellent food. Everything about the experience was great.

Restaurant not Resort!

By 2016maryG |

Don't let their name fool you, it's a restaurant or happy hour place. .It has both inside and outside dining. Service was very attentive. Food was excellent to ok...Artichoke dip with 5 small pieces of croissantis was very small for $10. Mission Cioppino was excellent, sole dinner was good and Dungeness crab roll was disappointing.. It was very small, about 1/2 cup if that of crab mixture not worth the $26. beet salad was good. Currently there is so much construction going on in the area, parking is a challenge.

poor...

By Mike W |

The hotel concierge was asked to find us (couple of 2) a non tourist seafood restaurant. Well he got it right it was no tourist but service was OK (young lady) but little interaction, oysters were tasty in range but nothing special and prawns, well we could have bought them from any supermarket. I would stick well known restaurants as this was not the special little local place that you would be looking for

Best brunch spot

By AngDav99 |

I went with 2 girlfriends who I was visiting from overseas for a long brunch and catch up and it was perfect. We hadn't booked but were able to have a drink at the bar while we waited for an available table. When we were seated we had a wonderful table on the balcony in the sun overlooking the water. We had a very long, mimosa filled day in the sun and it was perfect. The food, the setting and the service!

Brunch destination

By mlmcmurray |

Great brunch, I had smoked salmon Benedict and my friend had the crab! So good. Petite seafood platter, oysters, shrimp and ceviche was delicious. Great service and wonderful venue.

Opened last July and off the beaten path in SF

By Ronald G |

This was a perfect day to seat outside and enjoy the view of downtown SF in the distance. Service was slow but that happens sometimes. Limited menu and O.K. food.

Amazing view!

By LGBTtraveler |

This is a wonderful place to watch the sunset during dinner! That's the reason to come. The outdoor area is heated and you overlook the bay. The service wasn't the best and the food was ok, good but not great, but none of that mattered because the view was so wonderful! Also, sit outside only - inside it is very noisy. And really, the reason to come is the view.

Recommendable

By Travel_Fan2007 |

My sister had been here before with her husband and dog to meet up with new friends and their own dogs. She recommended this place. I am glad I tried it. She called for reservations and it was good that she did. I heard the hostess say wait time was 30 minutes - 1 hour for walk-ins depending on inside or outside seating. There were many choices on the brunch menu, from seafood to meat dishes. We ordered 2 types of Eggs Benedict --- with dungeness crab for my sister and with andoullie sausage and prawn for me. You get two eggs and potatoes for each order, so it can easily be shared by 2 people. (Ask for the potatoes to be on the crispy side.) I loved the hollandaise sauce, not too creamy and a good balance of flavor that I thought went well with the heat from the sausage. Service was very friendly and attentive. The table near ours was a big group and I noticed that people were arriving at different times. I overheard our server checking for orders as people came in and then verified when the group was complete. The only point of improvement I noted was when I asked if the potatoes were cooked with onions, she said no, but there were at least 4 slices of onions on my plate. We were there on a Sunday so street parking was free. Our spot was a few minutes' walk from the restaurant but it was a nice walk anyway on a sunny day. The ladies' restroom was clean and comfortable.

Great place for waterfront view

By Christine L |

Sit outside for a nice view of the water! Try delicious Roasted cauliflower and seabass. Lovely atmosphere. Definitely sit outside.

Delicious Brunch with a view of the Bay.

By justmaryp |

We visited this restaurant for brunch on a Saturday. We had a lovely table on the porch overlooking San Francisco Bay. The brunch menu has a wide selection of brunch items to choose from. The prices were reasonable for San Francisco. My husband had the Corned Beef Hash with an egg on top. He said it was delicious. I had the "Classic" Eggs Benedict. Everything about it was perfect. My cousin's daughter got the Egg and Cheese Biscuit. It was huge! She ended up taking half home. My cousin got the stuffed French Toast. It looked delicious. I had expected a much richer, filling dish, but it was French toast filled with fruit. Everyone in our party loved their meals. I liked that even though it was busy, we weren't rushed when we were sitting, talking and enjoying the view after our meal.

Great place to get a table

By Marishechka |

Great place to get a table outside when the weather is sunny to have a fosen of oysters and glass of rose . Great for the happy hour with friendly service and nice views . However, if you order from the regular and not happy hour menu it’s not such a good choices based on quality & value . The food is overpriced for what you get . You will be better off with happy hour choices

The place is not attractive anymore

By Marishechka |

We have been eating at this place hundreds of times over the years and always enjoyed it . However, today we had a difference experience. At 4-45 pm we just walked in and asked for a table for 2 and even upstairs patio had a number of empty table they didn’t let us in on the upstairs patio and offered instead the bar downstairs. Well, it’s so bad I don’t even know where to start . First of all there us no table service. Secondly , all the food we had ordered was horrible, overcooked and not fresh . The oysters were looking like they are 3 days old , no taste whatsoever. $15 Burger is just bad , fried calamari fur $19 you can just throw to the garbage right away . Those were totally burned , dry and oily . The wine wasn’t great either plus they pour really under half a plastic cup . So, we totally raised out $80 and left hungry . Thank you very much ! No more for me !!!!!!!!

Hidden Jewel

By Nanci G |

You have to know where it is but once you do it is great. We sat outside on the deck overlooking the water. The food was great as was the service. Its very comfortable for couples, families, etc. We will go back again. We hear they have a great brunch too.

EAST S.F. RESTAURANT

By Jam_macL_A_Calif |

The location is 15 minutes form AT&T Ball Park. Great view of the bay and can get very crowded. We went for Brunch. Had the bottomless drink. Go for it. The waitness will keep bringing until you can't handled. The food was good and our service was good. Now the prices are a little high............the range on the menu was very large so you'll find something you'd like We used Uber from the Union Square Hilton Hotel...........was 12 minutes and approx. $18.00 The area is up and coming...........however not something you'd walk around in --- in certain areas...........

Good food. Good view. What's up with the service?

By PaulLMullen |

I really liked the location, overlooking the Bay. It's a short walk from UCSF Hospitals. It's in a trendy part of town. Basically a great spot. The food is terrific, especially if you like seafood. I had a Tuna BLT that was a fabulous sandwich with a generous green salad. Others at our table were very happy. But the service... what the heck? We asked our waiter, "What are you excited about on the menu?" He had no recommendations. We pressed him for what he liked. Nothing, zippo. We managed to place orders anyway but the process was slow and non-special. It just didn't match the quality of the location and the food. Enjoy!

Amazing oysters!

By Janet-Harlow |

I visited this restaurant for a business dinner on a Wednesday night. Restaurant was not too busy but sometimes difficult to get the attention of a waiter. Drinks arrived ok apart from the person that ordered a cocktail, it took longer & appeared forgotten & we had to remind the waiter. On a positive note we ordered three different kinds of oysters & they were gorgeous! As were the main courses , I had the cod in batter & it was very tasty! Desserts were delicious & portion size good.

I want to be honest upfront and let you know that I do not like seafood in any way shape or form, but I enjoyed my experience here at Mission Rock Resort. Pros: Doesn't have nasty sea food smell throughout the building Excellent non-seafood items such as the burgers and ravioli Friendly and attentive staff Perfect location I would eat here again

Great patio on a sunny day!!!!

By Global Travelers Unlimited |

Rose all day!!!! Love this place on a hot, sunny day! Great patio and oyster selection. Post up with bottles of rose, some oysters and sunshine for a good time. Recommended.

Reasonably pricey but worth it...

By Laurent S |

Very enjoyable Sunday brunch experience. View: nice to outstanding (the weather was nice and eating outside felt like a treat). Food: nothing exceptional but very decent. The grab egg Benedict was properly executed: (very!) good portion of grab, perfect eggs and, the test in my opinion, no soggy bottom muffin --trough I prefer mine toasted and crispier. Large serving of potatoes just nicely done but still too much. Service was courteous and polite, slighty OTT but nothing wrong. I shall come back!!!

Memorable

By jkentris |

We have been coming here for about 4 years when we visit SF. This “Black Friday” visit was exceptional be. The employees were truly amazing. Happy, friendly, and excellent service! They are what makes this a great place to eat! The food is always fresh and perfectly prepared and their happy hour menu is exceptional! We were a party of six and they took care of all our needs! Our server did not blink when we started with 5 dozen oysters, which were exceptional! Everything arrived in a time.y manner. Such a fantastic spot. I am hopeful that the new Warriors arena, right across the street does not spoil their exceptional service!

Good Food, Great Service, Killer Views

By Ruth G |

My wife and I went to Mission Rock Resort (it's not a resort, it's a restaurant) on a whim last night for dinner. We were hungry and it was close by. We were pleasantly surprised. First, there was plenty of parking, they seated us right away and our waitress (Adriana) turned out to be a gem. The drinks were very good and the fresh raw oysters were excellent. I had fish and chips for dinner which was really good and my wife had a crab louie salad which she loved. Adriana recommended the bread pudding for dessert and it was amazing. The restaurant is right on the water with both indoor and outdoor seating and there was and huge cruise ship in port right in front of us. We will go back.

Sat upstairs for wonderful views. The menu is varied and the oysters are great. They have happy hours for the oysters too. Shared a burger as it was huge! Also the bread pudding is worth trying. They also have great mocktails too!

Hidden Gem! Worth a Visit!

Lovely to sit outside on their deck in the sun. Delicious food and very well mixed drinks. This is a bit out of the way and on its own but well worth a visit. Made my day!

Excellent Happy Hour

By Sandy G |

We took a taxi down to Mission Rock Resort at about 3:30 to get there for their Happy Hour oysters. They were .99 cents each!!! They were tasty and I had my fill after 3 dozen of them! The bartender was friendly and personable. We definitely will go back.

SEAFOOD JUST OK, PRICEY, GETTING BY ON ITS "NOVELTY" LOCATION.

By Richard H |

Located in the "dog patch" area, on the fringe of Potrero Hill, it overlooks the gritty part of the bay with abandoned hulks and a working dry dock, though San Francisco quaint. There is a fun out door deck for sunny days and plenty of room inside. Overall impression is that while it does not appear pricey based on listed rates, portions are small. A blackened salmon was tiny, maybe they were running out: their signature dish is their PETIT SHELLFISH PLATEAU, WITH OYSTERS, PRAWNS SHRIMP AND CEVICHE, AT MARKET RATES. OYSTERS WERE SMALL. Clam chowder was ok, but snapper tacos were heavy on sauce, light on the snapper. A real sleeper though was the ahi tuna, a generous chuck of the "real thing" flavored with avocado. Wine list good, some exotic martinis, a nice place for snacks and drinks, but not my cup of tea for dinner. Looks like there is plenty of street parking, but after night falls, I would be concerned if you parked very far from the restaurant. Richard.

Good Food & Drink

By Gailyn63 |

We went here because the Bay Bridge was closed and we needed dinner before a show at the Fox. We had the fish ceviche, the grilled fish tacos and frito misto, all of which were hearty servings. The frito misto was excellent, while the other 2 needed some more flavor. We also had the spicy margarita and an IPA. Service was excellent, and the outside patio seats had good views of the harbor.

Nice location, very good food.

By claussie |

Waterfront dining. Located in the old Mission Bay district, opposite the Chase Center. Busy spot, mainly locals. First floor is the Rock Cafe, a kind of self-seating operation. Second floor is the area where you need a reservation. Nice relaxed atmosphere, indoor and outdoor seating. Nothing fancy. Good for brunch. But also for lunch and dinner. Our food was very good. We had Dungeness Crab & Bay Shrimp Roll. Excellent. Grilled Fish Tacos, Fish & Chips. Bay Shrimp Louie Salad. Hot Fudge Sundaes. What more can I say? The food was good and we left as happy customers.

Love that view

By Dave M |

The food here is good and the service is friendly, but the view is the shining star. It's right on the bay, and away from a lot of the noise of the city. Be aware that you'll either need to walk for a while or take a cab.

Family get together...good times

By solartouch |

Wonderful outdoor deck, food is great, the endless mimosa at brush are marvelous. What a great spot to see the harbor, a great view of original san francisco.

Really Bad Service, Then they demand a tip

By Edward L |

Slow and basically non existent service. Food was cold, but the servers never bother to come and ask if everything was to our liking. Then she had the nerve to auto include 18% tip. She didn't deserve any tip in my opinion. This place is too expensive to have such an untrained staff.

Great Brunch Spot

By The Other Jim H |

Wonderful brunch, good food and service. Child and dog friendly. View of the bay and shipyard from the deck outside. A favorite Sunday morning spot for us.

Great Brunch!

By Sherrill G |

Food is great and varied. Seafood really fresh. Coffee strong and flavorful. Service wonderful. Seating on the balcony best! Get there at 10 if you don't have reservations.

Lunch at San Francisco mission rock resort

By Stephan B |

Just finished my lunch. I have clam chowder which was excellent not too creamy just perfect and then shrimp Louie salad also great not too much of salad just enough and the service is outstanding definitely coming back.

Limp and milky oysters;(

By Kim S |

I went for the happy hour and the Miaki (?) oysters were small and not very fresh. I appreciate a $1 oyster but it's a loss leader and should entice you to eat more but this experience did not.. Great view and nice staff, but they need to up their oyster game. I've eaten there before and the food is just and Not cheap!

Great Food and Beer on the Water

By porter_osborne |

Once a decade dinner with an old grad school friend was made even better by the great oysters, seafood, and beer served at our water side table. Lots of windows with Bay views or in good weather you can sit outside, Which we did. Inside and outside tables were quite enough for good conversations and that is definitely a plus. Wait staff was a little slow, but it was a first day-trainee and we were in no hurry.

Decent Food, Nice View, The rest was ehhhhhh

By K H |

We had driven past here on other trips down to AT&T park, along the water front etc.... We had a quick run into the city to drop someone off, and then headed toward the waterfront to find Mission Rock. Parking is easy, in fact fairly nearby it's free for 2 hrs. Upon walking in, there are signs everywhere about not leaving valuables visible in your car...I mean signs everywhere. As you can see from other reviews, there is a real problem with car break-ins, even during the middle of the day. We didn't have an issue....but it's an area that is right on the edge of kinda sketchy to moving up... We walked in, and headed upstairs. The woman at the desk was straight forward. No waiting outside, but a wait indoors. "And once your outdoors, I can't get you indoors if your cold". Hmmm well we checked out the patio, and in the sun it was fine. In fact sitting outside was very nice.....was a bit chilly with the breeze when the sun went behind the clouds. But it ended up being a good choice for seating. Our next immediate observation was the service. Slow....non-attentive....just there. I would say the service was just unremarkable, not terrible, but nothing to remember. Felt like everyone working there was indifferent. The food was good, we enjoyed it. We ended up trying their Clam Chowder. It's loaded with crispy bacon...which made a great difference!!! I also had their Rock Burger...which was excellent. It's piled high with lettuce, pickles tomatoes, and a nice patty of beef. The bun was also excellent. I really enjoyed the burger. It came with fries.....they were good, but nothing memorable. Why not do something more with the fries? We also had hoped to try their raw oysters, and they did have a variety to choose from. But WOW.....the prices. My gosh......alot more expensive than Sam's on the coast... Our favorite type.....would have required a 2nd mortgage. We passed..... hmm hate to say it, but I won't be back, not worth it, nothing to really draw me back.

Relaxed lunch with a view

By smithwm |

Really enjoyed our visit to Mission Rock Resort for lunch today. My companions had the fish and chips which they all said were great and I had the Vongole Linguine which is almost as good as the one I had in Venice. Great service, relaxed surroundings and fabulous fir a long lazy lunch.

Great deck!

By Sfmrk |

We always enjoy dining on the deck of this casual spot. Yesterday, we decided to stop there for drinks and a light bite. We were seated quickly and then the wait began. After sitting and waiting for about 20 minutes a lovely waitress noticed that nobody was helping us so she took our drink order. It took about another 15 minutes for the drinks to come. And then another 15 minutes for our food order to be taken. Twenty minutes later we were talking about leaving when our food order finally appeared. Dessert only took about another 10 minutes to come after ordering. I must report that the bill was delivered quickly. The waitress was very apologetic for our unhappy experience but offered no compensation such as "dessert is on the house" which would have been nice. Please note this is our neighborhood restaurant which we frequently visit and this is the first time the service has been this poor so we will return again hoping there will not be a repeat performance.

Average bordering Good

By Laurent S |

The location and view are unusual give it a plus. The food is OK: average+ / good, nothing ultra fancy, ok ingredients done in an ok way gives an ok results. Service is usually ok too. So by then you should get it, it OK overall. It's nice to walk here before/after brunch/lunch/dinner and is also a very short walk from the Muni (T-line) if you feel like being outside of downtown for a while (which I'd recommend).

Pay for a so so View

By Hi I'm Tom |

The place is on the bay with a nice view. Reservations are expected but we were able to grab lunch without it. The Fish and Chips were ok. How can you mess up fish and chips? You pay for the view basically.

Great view, OK food

By Nikinoki8 |

It was a nice day in SF for a change so we sat on the deck, view of the bay. Had the fish tacos, generous portion of fish. But a bit light on flavor. Had the apple crisp for dessert. It was good, not too sweet. The brandy caramel sauce was just right. We arrived during meal change in the kitchen so there was a slight delay getting our food. But overall a nice experience. (Note: it can get windy, so better to use a card as cash could end up in the bay).

Come for the view - stay for the food

By Ray C |

What a memorable way to spend our last day in SanFrancisco by taking in the sights along the water front and noshing on delicious seafood The ladies partook in crab rolls while I had delicious red snapper tacos and my son in law had a burger Attentive service, perfect weather and great food make this an excellent weekend spot to dine.

Nice restaurant, great view!

By SB1114 |

We ate here on a weekday, and were amongst the first seated along the rail upstairs. There was good shade coverage on a warm San Francisco day. It's not in a fancy neighborhood, but the view of the bay is first class. The food, drinks, and service were all very good. We didn't feel hurried at all to leave, even though there was a wait by the time we left. We would definitely recommend.

Yummy Fish Tacos and Dutch Apple Crisp

By Heather H |

Had a business lunch with colleagues today. We ordered the Thai chili chicken wings as an appetizer which were just the right amount of sticky and spicy. For lunch, the snapper fish tacos with cilantro pico de gallo, guac, on a corn tortilla. Yum. The fish was grilled, nicely spiced, and not over cooked. There are three Tapas-sized tacos in a serving, so it's not too much food. In fact, it's just enough to tide one over until dessert is served. Several of us shared the Dutch apple crisp. The ice cream was buttery-rich with homemade caramel sauce topping the crisp, which was just the combination of sweet and apple delicious. Honestly, I would go back just for this dessert.

Great View, Nice People, Crap Food.

By Crabbus |

Sunny outdoor dining with great views of the Bay. Loads of friendly and efficient staff. Basic bar food, Schnitzel like shoe leather.

Decent Food.

By Nancy D |

Our friend recommended this place. It is large and evidently accommodates big groups around football games. Located by the bay, there are nice view tables inside and out. There are heat lamps outside. Many seafood options on the menu. Lamb sliders, asparagus, brussel sprouts, fish tacos were all fine...not out of this world inventive or special...but fine. Service was good. Wine menu did not provide the best selections by the glass. House cocktails including margaritas are available. I probably would not go out of my way to return.

Enjoy a good meal with a great bayside view

By HarlemMade |

I dined here with about 50 business colleagues as part of a day tour of San Francisco and Oakland. We were not provided the restaurant's traditional fare, but a buffet style breakfast ahead of several presentations hosted by the venue. I gave this an "excellent" rating, more for the view and location, than the food, which was quite good. The restaurant is in Mission Bay, a part of San Francisco which is home to a good deal of maritime-based industry. The view from one of the outdoor seating areas is of the last dry dock still in use in the city. The restaurant pays homage to its location with its decor.

Paradise by the Bay

By PPhs |

Went to this gem right on the bay close to what will be the Warriors new home. Another great weather day in SF. Seating outside was worth the short wait. Fish and Chips were very tasty. Three pieces of white cod and shoestring fries were very good (just slightly over salted). Everyone in party was happy with their selections.

Sunshine and Lively

Located in a weird part of town - Lock your car and don't leave valuables; but the food and service was great

Seafood Spot by the Chase Center

By Jay F |

Went here with friends after a cliffhanger Warriors win! Everywhere else was packed and with long wait times. Mission Rock was clutch! They were able to take us on a moment's notice AND seated us outside with a beautiful view of the bay! It was relatively windy but the heated patio as well as their well-crafted cocktails were enough to keep us warm. Their menu is seafood driven but there are lots of other options as well. We had the Grand Shellfish Plateau which was more than enough for a party of four. Their oysters and clams were freshly shucked, juicy, and packed with ocean brininess. Pair them with an Aperol Spritz or a Paloma or both, and by the end of the night you'd be cheering "LET'S GO WARRIORS!!!"

Perfect waterfront dining: just enough people-watching and fabulously dog-friendly

By kristinalisan |

The food, setting, and service were all absolutely fantastic for a lazy, sunny, afternoon brunch. Don't go if you're on a diet: you will unnecessarily be torturing yourself. Talk someone in your party into getting the lobster roll on brioche and shamelessly ask for a "bite" - or just get your own. The entire staff was amazing with our two very large and always starving, charming, social dogs.

Excellent Seafood and Great Service

By ddmullis |

Overlooking the water, this restaurant provides indoor and outdoor seating. We enjoyed sitting on the heated patio for our team dinner From the starters of buffalo shrimp to clam chowder it was all very tasty. For entrees we enjoyed lamb burgers, fish n chips, grilled salmon and mixed grill The bread pudding is a perfect dessert to end a great meal The service was top notch

Must stop for brunch!

By David OConnor |

Super brunch menu. Sundays from 10 to 3. Eggs Benedict is wonderful. All of them perfectly executed. Try to sit outside if it is warm or find a heat lamp for additional ambiance. Good waterfront oyster bar upstairs. I tried the cherry stone clams. Fresh and sizable. The house fish and chips is plentiful, not greasy or oily. Probably a great spot to hit before a Game at AT&T. Be careful parking. Hide valuables in trunk to avoid a break in theft.

Lovely View

By Tarheel57 |

We were a party of six including two children under 10. We sat outside under the heat lamps and were comfortable throughout. The service was a bit slow throughout as it was busy, but the view across the Bay was outstanding as dusk approached. We finally got things going when the French Fries arrived to pacify the hungry kids. Overall the food was good, the ambiance excellent and a nice treat for visitors to the city to get away from the "city" environment. Although not overwhelmed we would go back if only to enjoy the atmosphere. The guests appeared to be mostly "Millenials" enjoying an early dinner and drinks.

Dining with a view!

By marcus_0000 |

Great food and great views? This place has it all. The fish and chips were amazing as was the grilled chicken.

Overpriced place

By Donna Y |

Already wrote how overpriced..no atmosphere restaurant..unless it is summer you cannot see the water view really esp. At nite...service was ok..was a server befire..should not have tipped consudering..food portion..atmosphere..service. and overall reaction when I complain later via email and call. They dud not say how much food you are getting..2 of the dishes were 29.00 with portions so little and dud not taste that great either ..was the scallops and crab roll dishes..not even a 5 star or french place..it was not about the price .was largely due to taste..description and portions..what it said on menu did not match what you get..my cousin was our of town and she owns 2 restaurant she said this was bad..was my first time and last to this place..not with the drive or price..there are better seafood places..really disappointed told everyone I know not to go there..big mistake ..one dish had 3 med. Scallops with small amount of rissiti was salty. Eith 5 prices of small cubed squash.29.00.clam chowder was 10.00 did not have much ..crab roll was like half a sandwich small amount of slaw and sauce some potato fries. Ridiculous..menu needs revamping and presentation bettet..

Great Brunch

By Dale R |

Had brunch here on Sunday. Got there as it opened at 10 am and got a nice place (we had a reservation and this is useful as it is a very popular spot. I had eggs benedict, they have about 5 different kinds so a good selection. My wife had the crab roll (stuffed sourdough toast) that was wonderful as this is now crab season. It was sunny so it was warm in the sun and overall had a great meal. The service is fast and very attentive. Spent $100 including tips and felt that it was high quality and high value. I will be going again for sure.

Loved it

By KSH50 |

Efficient, friendly service. Dungeness crab cocktail and Caesar salad were fantastic, as was the calamari. Good wine and hard cider too. When we asked for an espresso after our bill was presented, it was comped. We'll try to make the Happy Hour before we leave San Francisco.

Fun place on the water

By COLadyRoadWarrior |

This is a fun restaurant on the water! Simple yet inventive drinks and tasty food. Many seats are right on the ester, which of course is where you hope to sit at a waterfront restaurant! Upbeat staff.

Great brunch!

By Jennifer H |

Really delicious brunch. Had the crab Benedict which I highly recommend. Bloody Marys hit the spot. Great view from the deck on a warm, sunny day.

Fun find; close to Chase Center

By Uncle_Dougie |

We chose Mission Rock Resort based on a recommendation from a relative, and he was right on the money. Mission Bay is a still-evolving neighborhood, but this restaurant has been here for a while. Now, with the Chase Center opened very close by, I would bet this place is packed on event days. Parking (on a non-event weekend night) was no issue. The restaurant has two floors, with some outside dining. Outside is first come, first served, and is on the water. The view is decent, with a shipyard immediately to the south. This is still a semi-industrial area, but that did not bother us at all. There is an Oyster Bar on one floor, and a regular bar on the other. We enjoyed starters of flavorful Roasted Cauliflower and a Petite Shellfish Plateau, which contained a wonderful selection of oysters, clams, and shrimp, accompanied by a variety of condiments. Very fresh and full of flavor. Our entrees included the Fish Tacos, Shrimp Louie, Mussels & Fries, and the Rock Burger. All came fairly quickly after we completed our appetizers, and all were delicious. Three of us enjoyed wine, while another ordered a house special cocktail from the bar. No disappointments here as well. This was a wonderful evening of food, drink, and atmosphere, and watching the near full moon rising over the bay certainly added to it. There were several groups with children, and none of the kids seem to be complaining. Also, dogs are allowed in the outside dining area, so if that's a concern for you, don't worry! Definitely looking forward to a return visit.

Waterfront by the Chase Center

By _lmglevin |

We met a couple of local friends here at their behest. Very interesting neighborhood on the waterfront by the beautiful Chase Center. Clearly lots of new development where once there had been warehouses. Nice to be on the waterfront, but apparently the rusty ships don't move much. The patio has heat lamps, so eating outside is always possible and desirable. Went on a Sunday evening, so not too busy. Can only imagine the crowds when something is happening at Chase Center. There aren't a lot of options close by. Started with raw ahi tuna on avocado and a delicious seasonal squash appetizer. We enjoyed both very much. All four of us ordered different entrees. The stand outs were clearly the short ribs and cioppino. Sadly, the restaurant had run out of the ahi entree. The roasted chicken was also good. Our waitress was nice, but had some very large parties she was also attending. Service a little slow and inattentive as they seemed understaffed. Apparently management had sent one wait person home thinking they weren't that busy, but then lots of people came in.

When Dining on the Water is a Must

By pmostsf |

Even thought SF is a Peninsula with the Bay on one side and the Ocean on the other, there are not a ton of choices for easily accessible on the water dining spots although many restaurants do have great views in SF. One spot on the Bay side of SF is MRR. I have been here twice--once for lunch and once for dinner. Here's what I like: 1. The views are nice if you can sit outside on a nice day. The dry dock does get in the way a bit but given the right table, the views of Oakland, Mt Diablo, the Bay, etc.. far out shadow the ugly dry-dock. 2. They have a great oyster selection. I like to order those from the West Coast and/or local No Cal. Why buy oysters that needed a long plane ride to get here when there are so many local choices. 3. The portions for the apps are generous. The bruschetta and manila clam apps for example could be small meals in themselves. 4. You got to try the bread pudding. Yum! Here's what has been a little hit or miss: 1. They seem understaffed given the long wait times to order and get served. I must say that my server on the last go round acknowledged this and made it right. But it has been slow both times... 2. Parking can be a bit of a hassle and the area is a bit sketchy at night.

Recommend

By Deborah S |

We visited this place after a venue at the Chase Center down the street. We wanted a place we go and wait out the long wait, and high prices for ride share, and we found the perfect place. Even though the restaurant was closed, we decided to have a last call on a couple of drinks. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and did not turn us away even though they were getting ready to close in 35 minutes. The location was very clean and once again we were welcomed and thanked for coming in by staff. We got to enjoy sitting outside on the patio by the bay and closing out our evening. Looking at the menu and the reviews I wished we able to sample the menu. Fortunately this gives me a reason to go back. Next time in the city I will pay a visit.

Great view from the deck

By TJJapan |

Went for a drink and appetizers, was more expensive than other places - not happy with the lack of happy hour pricing. The view is wonderful, the wait staff all professional.

Great spot for Breakfast, excellent service & views

By EndlessVoyage |

We arrived early for breakfast and we’re outside. Service here makes the restaurant. Views of the bay & their perfectly heated deck make it very pleasant to sit outside even on a drizzly morning. Breakfast was fine and the fish tacos were easily the most impressive. Potatoes with other dishes were a bit old tasting and clearly made well before hand. But overall a good option if you are in the area

Gem that should be known

By Kristina M |

How have I never tried this place? Maybe because from the outside I think that it's all fancy hoity toity inside and not kid friendly. WRONG! High quality food with a laid back atmosphere. Super kid friendly to sit outside under the heat lamps overlooking the Bay. Incredible oysters. Decent clam chowder. Delicious desserts. Can't wait to go back!

The food, the staff, the location on the water - fabulous

By S0CalF00die |

We booked our daughter's baby shower for 50 guests in the semi-private outdoor space that juts into the bay. From start to finish, the experience was wonderful. We had cocktails, wine, beer, and soft drinks from a semi-private bar. A lovely buffet of ceviche, guacamole and salsa with chips, two kinds of pizza, and beautiful platters of cheeses and charcuterie. Everyone had such a great time and raved about the food. It was so abundant, the staff brought to-go boxes and lots of our daughter's friends took food home. We stayed an hour past the two hours we had paid for drinking champagne with our out-of-town family members. Our daughter and son-in-law love Mission Rock, and now we do too.

Nice restaurant in Mission bay with nice view on the Bay

By Alberto |

I tried this place for a lunch with a group of colleagues and it was overall a nice experience. This is not the prettiest neighborhood in SF but the bay front location of the restaurant makes up for it and it is a really good option for a lunch if you are in mission bay. They have a nice menu, predominantly seafood. I tried the fried calamari and the ceviche that we're really good. As entree I got the New Orleans BBQ shrimps, which were good although too spicy and there was too much grits

Bayside lunch spot

By Liz W |

Thoroughly enjoyable outdoor lunch spot! Right on the water close to Chase Center and Oracle Park. Prompt and attentive service. Delicious shrimp Louie and ahi poke salads. Nice wine selection. This restaurant has been around for a while and it was nice to see it’s been updated. Will definitely return!

Fantastic spot for brunch

By sfgranny |

Our large group celebrated father's day with a really terrific brunch at a big table on the outdoor deck upstairs. Our server was great, accommodating 3 generations! My only complaint was that we were told there were no special (smaller portion) items for the kids which was surprising given that we werent the only family with young ones, but we all enjoyed the food (and helped the kids clean their plates! We ordered a variety of brunch drinks, from coffee, fresh squeezed orange juice, to a tasty michelada and some very lovely bloody marys that included bacon and veggies (almost a meal in itself!). Our brunch items included perfectly briny fresh oysters (we got an assortment of 3 types) to share, and different dishes including French toast, biscuit and eggs, eggs benedict and a regular egg dish. All these items were generous portions, came with great sides and were prepared with top quality ingredients. Sitting out on a sunny day looking out over the water was fantastic. I'd go back every Sunday if I could!

Not a safe place to visit

By Seaclusion120 |

We stopped by for lunch at this well rated restaurant after picking up our guests from out of the country at the airport. We arrived at the restaurant at 1 PM, parked right in front of the restaurant and went in for lunch, when we returned to our SUV at 2:15 PM, the rear window had been broken and the luggage stolen. The restaurant staff said "it happens all the time". The restaurant had signs on the wall (which we did not notice upon entering) warning of vehicle break-ins. The hostess never warned us. This made for a very unhappy start to our friends' vacation to the city. In our opinion, the restaurant needs to have a staff person or a security guard outside their premises if this is a known hazard. We feel the restaurant is negligent in providing adequate security for their patrons. Rated as low value for what we got considering the high cost of our personal property loss.

Interesting view

By Ramdas P |

We had a nice brunch at this restaurant, sitting next to the water front on a spring morning. The menu has a range of oyster offerings along with salads and sandwiches. I had the salmon bahn mi which was quite nice followed by bread pudding for dessert which was just average. The service was friendly and efficient. Would recommend if in the vicinity.

Reimagined Resort

By Californiaseeker1 |

Years ago, the Mission Rock Resort was a very funky greasy spoon with a knockout location. It was a vestige of the old industrial eastern SF waterfront, where you could get a burger, beer and a big view of the bustling waterfront. They even sold live bait and rented boats to those wanting to fish in its waters. Well, fast forward thirty plus years and it has been reborn as a new addition to bay-side dining with expansive decks, lined with umbrella covered tables. I won't go so far as to declare that they have aimed too high in the culinary department, but suffice it to say that if you want a very off the beaten path locale on the SF waterfront with not too pricey food, wine, oysters etc., you should stop by and slow down on this edge of the bay.

So much has changed since then! Now that I'm more settled down I welcome this change with open arms. The atmosphere is lively even at 10:30am and I'm surrounded by fellow early risers. Love!

Great outdoor and bay view locating, good food

By GrandTour488658 |

I recently went back for brunch. The food as usual was good; service is a bit slow and occasionally staff is a bit green. The ambience and views are great. Definitely worth returns.

The brunch menu has an entire section on Eggs Benedict

By pat m |

Once I saw the brunch menu with an entire section on Eggs Benedict, I was sold. Add to that, a great deck with umbrellas overlooking the water, excellent service, and lots of other choices if you're not a Benedict fan. Oh, and the Cajun Eggs are out of this world!

Spectacularly Delicious Dinner overlooking the San Francisco Bay!

By LAND |

Fabulous birthday dinner! We started our evening with a dozen oysters. They arrived with 3 sauces. A shallot mignon sauce, a red cocktail sauce, and a special lime jalapeño ice sauce. All the sauces were delicious! The oysters were expertly loosened and wonderful. They went down so easily! For dinner we shared a plate of burrata cheese with heirloom tomatoes and grilled nectarines with a balsamic drizzle. Amazing! We also shared the Ahi tuna and avocado seasoned with scallions, ginger and soy served with wonton chips! Perfect combination of flavors! Finally we shared a Caesar Salad topped with freshly shredded crab. Wow! Our sweet waitress brought a dense chocolate torte with candle as a surprise for my husband. This was second visit and won't be our last! Highly recommended San Francisco restaurant.

Sitting by the Bay

By Elspeth C |

We sat on upstairs outside on the deck. The waitress was delightful and helpful as we were entertaining out of town guests. Great food - awesome choice of oysters. Would highly recommend this restaurant. If you want to chat don't sit inside!
