Staff was very rude and not accommodating to people with gluten allergies. Staff was also untrained in what ingredients the food contains, and potential allergens. Ordered a few items to go earlier today and asked the hostess about gluten free options. Her response was “nothing is gluten free here. If you want gluten free, go somewhere else”. Considering this place serves sashimi, that’s complete BS so I called her out on it, to which she responded with “yeah” (kind of like a child who was caught lying that doesn’t have much else to say). Anyway, I put in an order and was told by the hostess that the clear soup was gluten free. When I came back 10 minutes later to pick up, I was told that the soup was actually not gluten free, and that considering they couldn’t ask me about it as I left for a few, they charged me anyway for the soup and wouldn’t refund it. This issue was escalated to a waiter, and then a manager, and they still refused to refund the soup. The staff members we spoke with were extremely rude and made it seem as though dining with them was a privilege. Considering all the options available in the area, I will never come back to this establishment, and I will recommend that my friends and family also stay away. You guys really suck...

The last time I came here was a few years ago, way before Sandy. The place rebounded pretty nicely after the hurricane. In fact they're better than ever. It is now twice the size and the food is just as great. We were there on Friday night. It was very busy and we had to wait a bit to even be seated. The service was excellent, proving that you don't have to go to Manhattan to have great dining experience. Because oh how busy it was 8(!) sushi chefs couldn't keep up and I ended up waiting a little too long for my sushi bar appetizer (oyster shots) and a specialty roll entry. Because of that, without being promoted in any way, we were given edamame on the house. Everyone was very nice. Still a great place to go!

I always like the Mitoushi in Quentin road, in last winter I finally had guts to try this one in Sheepshead Bay, when I sat down then found out the computer not working so they won’t accept any credit card must go to bank to get cash to pay bill, wow! It sounds like u are in the third world county, it was a very cold winter day with heavy wind outside, I was lucky to have a few dollars in my pocket , good enough to ordered a light lunch , the food was ok not too impressed, kind of Sloppy in a day like this , I saw some customers were panicking! I can’t enjoy my lunch easy in this kind of atmosphere!

Mitoushi used to be great--good selection and inventive menu; however, it's getting worse and worse. I suspect that the business model has changed and now it's about buying low quality fish in order to improve the margins. I won't be back.

OMG what a selection! Food is great so as service. Moderately expensive but well worth the visit. Can't wait to go again

the decor is nice. the staff is very friendly and welcoming. the restaurant has a good size. Staff tends to disperse clients around the restaurant. The sush and sashimi selection have more variety, in addition quality wise it is better than similar restaurants around midwood. The prices are also different from the others. The portion of the plates are adequate.

Terrific, fresh fish presented nicely. Some novel rolls and platters that merit trying. Tempura is nice too. Service attentive and knowledgable.

Very unpleasant experience with delivery person demanding 10% tip of the order value. I always give a tip and since it is a tip, not a delivery charge, it is my choice how much to give. I called and confirmed with Mitoushi that there is no delivery charge for my location, but Mitoushi management clearly supports this behavior to demand tips from clients and believes that their clients should pay salary for their delivery people. It's a shame and I will not order from this place again, the food is OK, nothing exceptional that cannot be found half a block away. If you don't want to be treated like dirt, don't buy at this Mitoushi location.

Nice, clean place, love thir special rolls, always fresh. Cozy atmosphere, food to go with friends, family, or on a special date

Great food, good service, cool and unique specialty rolls, but my favorite are Oyster Shots. They are an explosion of heaven in your mouth! I definitely recommend this place for a nice Japanese meal if you're in the area.

I love the sushi here. It is fresh and very tasty. I think it is the best Sushi place in Sheepshead Bay. The staff is very pleasant and the atmosphere is very inviting. An all round very enjoyable experience.

This is a great find in the Sheephead Bay area in Brooklyn, NY with a high quality menu. Their stars are freshly shipped uni (sea urchin) and toro from Australia and Hokkaido, Japan. One recommendation for adventurous sashimi lovers is their omakase which comes in small and larger portions depending on your appetite. The owner is very friendly and often comes up with insightful suggestions of matching the food with the drink that best complements it. Though not highly diverse, their dessert menu is also impressive. Their green tea crepe is a must try, and will give your meal a nice and satisfactory finish.

Today was out first time at this restaurant, which was heighly recommended to us. We ordered Tri color sashimi ad it was great, fish is very fresh. My husband got muscles and they were a bit rubbery. The Oshi duck had mostly greens and hardly any duck for that they got 4 out of 5 stars. Their take on a Hong Kong duck is pretty bad, I wish they would do it more traditionally. We will definitely return but for fish only. Service was good, they only forgot dish, my miso soup. Minimum 16% gratuity we did not appreciate. Would have left perhaps more, if we were not forced to pay minimum tips. But overall it was ok!

They have a huge selection of sushi rolls here (amongst other Japanese food) with many of the rolls have a Russian twist to it, a particular favorite of ours was the Odessa special with caviar, fried fish and avocado. However we also enjoyed our other rolls which all had fresh and generous ingredients and would recommend them (tuna tuna, and salmon and avocado with spicy mayonnaise). Not a cheap eat, but good sushi never is.

The sushi there is amazing! They have spicy tuna bowl, yellowtail jalapeño, valentine roll ( without seaweed), Putin roll, volcano roll, shrimp shumai, coconut shrimp! The chairs and couches are very relaxing! Go to mitoushi sushi to get AWESOME sushi!!!!!!
Absolutely horrific customer service
Manager is the worst! My teenagers love this place and eat there all the time. Tonight they ordered and brought the food home. My daughter confirmed that the woman who took the order understood and had her read it back. All good- that is, until they came home and most of the order was wrong. Called up and spoke to her. Then the manager who kept saying he couldn't hear me. The restaurant was loud -- he said it was loud on my end. I kept explaining my house was quiet which it was- no little ones just 3 teens and 2 adults. He yelled that we couldn't prove they made any mistakes and wouldn't give any credit. He refused to give us his name. I'm a professional and spoke nicely and was stunned by this. My husband and 2 kids are heading back there despite us living a distance quite honestly just on principle at this point despite it being so late. I'm certain he will recognize them as they are regulars-- or should I say WERE because with this lack of customer service I will no longer allow them to eat there!
