There are a number of restaurants in S Fla. featuring dishes from PR, but this is truly the best. Authentic. And incredible. And the service is spot-on. Nothing negative to say.

Went for lunch with a friend. The only bad thing about restaurant is finding a parking spot. It is all street parking. The mofongo with cream garlic sauce is delicious. It was enough for the 2 of us. We had a side of tostones (6) and a side of arroz con gandules. Will definitely go again.

I am Puertorican; if you want to try really Puertorican food I really recommend this place. Staff is very friendly and kind; make you feel like family. Food is awesome; tasty and excellent quality. Really recommend it!!!!

This is our 3rd time at El Mofongo, the previous two were spectacular as this time at their new place. When I arrived, I had no reservation, but that was no impediment to them, they attended us immediately and in what I parked, we had already prepared a table, there were three of us, our daughter was with us that night, which “Detailed”. The super exquisite atmosphere, we were attended by Juan who answered us super friendly to everything we asked, highly oriented to customer service and very knowledgeable of his work. Juan was especially attentive to the details, I hope I can greet him on our next visit. The excellent food, with that Puerto Rican touch which is unmatched, the Boricuas will understand me better. My recommendation for parking is, download the “PayByPhone” app on your phone, white box with nine green “Dots”. So when you arrive, choose a convenient parking lot, in front you have a “sign” with numbers and then follow the instructions. You pay an hour and then you add it from hour to hour. Good use!

Our waiter Dairon was amazing, and very patient with us in explaining all the dishes since we are not familiar at all with Puerto Rican cuisine. Everything was delicious and we will definitely be coming back!

My husband and I was on vacation for is birthday as we had to come here there food and customer service is amazing. I been to this restaurant over four times and Frank always take for of us he’s amazing and make sure we enjoy our time. This time around I told Frank it was my husband birthday and when we were done with dinner Frank and his co worker’s sang Happy Birthday it was very nice. My husband felt like he was back home in PR with all the Instruments.

I went with my in-laws for lunch, we wanted typical Puerto Rican food and we found this restaurant with exquisite food, the best fried cheese and bananas with pickled sweetbreads, and to top it off a trifongo with shrimps, meat and chicken, the best of all It was the attention of Daniel who was always attentive to our table. Unforgetable experience . Excellent place to visit.

Oh, and if you're worried about waiting for a table, it was no biggie, less than 15 minutes, and they take reservations too.

Wrong order (we ordered green plantain with chicharron) we were given yellow "ripe" plantain mofongo (but the waiter pointed bifongo in the order) We are from PR to visit Miami and the waiter told us that was banana green hello!!!!!... we know how regular mofongo is Garlic chicken "garlic" and they gave it to us in white sauce. It's a pity 3/10. Good luck to anyone who wants to give it a try.

Something different on Calle Ocho. This is Puerto Rican food. And it's pretty good. We were there on a busy day and luckily did not have to wait long for a table. Service, however, was pretty slow, maybe because the small place was so full. No water glass refills ... I ordered the stuffed tostones, with chicken and creamy garlic sauce. Delicious. Five come with an order, more than enough. I enjoyed my left overs the next day. My husband had the name-sake mofongo - mashed plantains with skirt steak (recommended by the waitress) served in a nice wooden bowl. He also had the creamy garlic sauce. Our neighbors urged us to get the chicken broth to add to the plantain - it took it to another level. Again, more than enough for one meal.

This restaurant has a unique flavor and Yasmany's attention complements my visit to give it a 10. This kid has a charisma on another level. We loved your service... you would come back just for your attention.

Mofongo is an amazing restaurant ! The food was absolutely delicious we didn’t go once we went three times during our visit to Florida. The staff made you feel like you belong there like family! The mofongo restaurant is a unique Puerto Rican cuisine that is not like any other. We felt like we were back in our island with the traditional flavors of the dishes! Yasmany was our server and he was so excellent! He explained all items of the menu and provided great recommendations! My favorite part was the coquito at the end! What a true signature to end your dining experience! Lastly, they did a fantastic happy birthday through a Paranda! I will continue to bring my family to this restaurant. I love that they sell the coquitos in bottles as well. The service was 5/5. Not only Yosmany but also the teams that served with excellence! The attentiveness was as such that we were pampered. You need to make it to this restaurant if you land in Miami!

Awesome Puerto Rican food! We lived in Puerto Rico for five years and the chicken Mofongo was an awesome blast from the past! We used to eat seafood Mofongo down in Ponce every so often. The Mofongo chicken was good, the meat juices soak into the mofongo making it a delicious comination of the plaintain and meat flavor. We enjoyed the tostones and sauce (kind of like a french dressing type thing).

Soooo, while on vacation we went to this restaurant because it was referred to us. We wanted to try something new, so why not. This is a Puertican restaurant. Our referral said to order Monfogo. We did, and we didn't like it. It was us, not the food. The service was top notch. The manager tried to get us to try something else, but we knew we just didn't care for this type of food. If you like Puertican food, this is the place. I do believe if we liked this type of food, we definitely would have been pleased.

Frank was such a welcoming spirit. I felt very attended to as soon as I walked in. He’s the best waiter I’ve had in a very long time. My favorite mofongo is the very basic one when in places like this they prepare it so well. My mouth waters when I remember this mofongo with garlic. And Johanna took great care of us.

Arrived to Mofongo’s today after a recommendation and it didn’t disappoint. Our server was excellent, ambiance was very similar as being in Puerto Rico. Loved their outfits, went extremely well with the theme and food was outstanding. While visiting Miami or when near Calle 8, it should be an official stop. Prices are definitely in the higher end but you’re in Miami can’t expect much. It was definitely a great experience.

Overrated. Very loud. The waiter could have given us better advice/help with our choices. We ended up with 3 plantain dishes instead of a variety of tastes. Turns out, I'm not a big fan of plantain. Very expensive as well.

If I could give ten stars I would. We had stayed in Key West for a week and returned to Miami for the airport to fly home. But I was dying for some good authentic food like my Abuela's. I miss her so much and the memories of her cooking always have me looking for places with Puerto Rican food when I travel around the world. And I found it at Mofongos. We loved everything about this place. The atmosphere, the food of course, the Pina colada was like having dessert before the meal, so good. What stands out the most, at least to us as business owners, was the way the staff is trained to service the customers regardless of who's table it is. Some of the best service we've ever seen in restaurant staff was here at Mofongo's. Typically at restaurants the servers are looking after their table in their section and if you need something and try to flag down someone else because your server is busy, you'll hear, I'll get your server. Not here. First of all, we never had to ask for anything. If someone saw the water glass getting low, they were on it. Drinks getting low, someone was there. And the way the staff lines up in front of the bar facing the restaurant, over seeing each table to see if every one is looked after, it didn't go unnoticed. We loved the attention to detail. Who ever the staff manager is, you're doing an amazing job. The icing on the cake for me any way, was when the staff sang happy birthday with the traditional instruments, right in front our table. It wasn't for me because they had no way of knowing it was actually my birthday that day. It was a coincidence. But I felt like my Abuela had a hand in that. Mofongos will definitely be a place I go to each time I fly in to Miami airport in the future.

For starters we had the queso frito which isn't your ordinary queso frito , comes with guayaba and if you are Hispanic you know that the thought of the guayaba sounds amazing. We had the bacalaito very crunchy and great seasoning. For our main course the Mofongo with Chicken believe me when I tell you it was superb, and for dessert the very creamy and mouthwatering. Flan Our server's name was Frank and "WOW" he was so great, friendly and took his time in answering our questions and mainly provided us great suggestions from the menu. Food was excellent but ,nothing like great service that keeps you wanting to return. Thank you Frank for making our experience so welcoming.

If I could give 0 for the opinion it would be deserved! Bad service, bad service, forgetting almost everything and throwing up mofongo afterwards upon arrival at the house, what a shame because the concept looked good, dry mofongo without sauce, at the time of eating I asked the waitress and she answered, I forgot to take it ,,without shame

First time trying Puerto Rican food. I was speechless and Daniel recommended very good meals to us. The jiraba breast was delicious! I definitely recommend that you come to dinner here and we loved Daniel's attentive service. We were delighted by the service and the food.

I recently visited Mofongo in Little Havana for lunch, and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. Drawn in by the positive Google reviews and the prospect of trying Puerto Rican cuisine for the first time, my husband and I eagerly decided to give this place a shot. We opted for the mixed sampler, enticed by the idea of sampling a variety of dishes, and at a cost of $33, we anticipated a fulfilling experience. Upon seeing the traditional dish, mofongo, being served at nearby tables, we were intrigued and decided to add it to our order. The waiter, although friendly, had limited English proficiency, which was not an issue in itself. However, the real problem arose when he failed to inform us about the portion sizes. Typically, restaurants advise patrons if their orders might be excessive, but unfortunately, this crucial information was omitted in our case. As the sampler platter arrived, we quickly realized its sheer enormity. With our Little Havana tour just around the corner, we hurriedly called the waiter over to cancel the mofongo order. Surprisingly, he explained, using Google Translate, that the kitchen had already begun preparing the short rib meat for the mofongo. This baffled us, as the sampler had taken a mere 20 minutes to arrive. Nevertheless, we assumed the mofongo would arrive shortly, giving us ample time to enjoy it without feeling rushed. To our astonishment, we found ourselves waiting an additional 20 minutes for the mofongo to finally make its appearance, despite repeatedly inquiring about its whereabouts. With the clock ticking and our tour looming, we were left with no choice but to take the mofongo as a takeaway. This experience was disappointing, as we felt misinformed and taken advantage of due to the language barrier. Adding to our dismay was the revelation of a mandatory 18% gratuity for bills exceeding $50, a detail that had not been disclosed upon entering or on the menus. This final blow left a sour taste in our mouths, overshadowing whatever merits the food might have held. In the end, while the food itself was enjoyable, the overall experience was marred by miscommunication, excessive waiting times, and undisclosed fees. Given the inconvenience and disappointment we encountered, I regrettably cannot recommend Mofongo as a dining choice in Little Havana. The culinary offerings were overshadowed by the lackluster service and the overall unpleasantness of the encounter.

We actually came here last year, and were mind blowed, by the food, the restaurant ambience, and the service. This year it was our firat stop after landing in Miami, and we have no regrets. From the cocktails, to the appetizers, to the entrees, it was amazing. Yasmany was super serviceable and welcoming, he provided top notch quality service. If you are in town do not missed this place, and ask for Yasmany he will take your experience to the next level.

Mofongo Restaurant Calle 8 is a great spot for Puerto Rican food. Their prices are very reasonable too.

I loved it, we went the day before my birthday with my family and friends, we arrived almost 40 min before closing and they attended us very well, tasty food, I could not finish it all because they serve enough, and the end not expected the coquito! I went with my baby and they made it easy for me to prepare their formula , the waiter was a Cuban (I don't remember his name), I had never seen anyone who worked so enthusiastically, it really was unmatched not to stop laughing at any time, the yes he knows how to do his job well, many congratulations for the... I recommend this restaurant 100%

I just left this place because customer service is terrible. The girl who received me very kindly sat me outside and asked for some pina coladas while they had the table available. Then a girl came out inside with yellow hair to tell us we had to stop and do the order inside the bar and pay. And then he gave me all the absurd explanation not to bring us the pina coladas. Zero kindness and little sensitivity to the fact that we were willing to wait in the heat 45 minutes for our table. Then he grabbed the menus, turned around and flipped his face. Nothing representative of what customer service is in Puerto Rico.

A friend recommended this restaurant months ago. We live in Pembroke Pines it’s a 45 minute drive but it was worth! Excellent food! Excellent customer service! We can’t wait to go back!

I don't do reviews very often however this place served very good Puerto Rican food in the heart of Little Havana. Our waiter Frank was very attentive and made excellent recommendations. I strongly recommend it and will visit again! We had to wait a few minutes for a table, less than 15 minutes. They do take reservations.

Sightseeing in Little Havana and stopped in for a quick bite. Food and service were excellent. Would highly recommend!!

We nipped into this restaurant because it was pouring with rain & we were looking for something to eat What a treat was in store for us !! The menu was vast but we didn’t really understand it - however the very lovely Yoana explained in detail the meals on the menu & advised us when we had ordered sufficient amounts . The food was amazing The restaurant friendly & comfortable We were a family of 7 4 adults & 3 children - ages 6,9 & 12 years - all of us were more than happy with our choice of meal We had a small conversation in French with Yoanna The whole experience was one that we will not forget Thank you lovely lady

El mejor lugar de Miami para probar comida auténtica puertorriqueña. El sabor está a otro nivel. El servicio es fue excelente. Nuestro mesero Dairon es el mejor. Tendrás la mejor experiencia.
