It's a small building, so we had a 10 minute wait for dinner. The staff came out to chat with us and then we were brought inside. I was disappointed they were out of Imperial (Costa Rican beer) but the staff tried to offer me a substitute. The drinks good, nothing to rave about. The food was a different story. My boyfriend ordered a fish dish with an AMAZING tomato sauce. This sauce was FULL of flavor and everyone kept reaching for a taste! I ordered a steak dish, which also was flavored well and paired with a colorful and also flavorful sauce! My boyfriend's mom ordered a chicken dish, but it was a little overdone, but she still enjoyed it. Overall, we would definitely come back for the food! **Also, we went on a Friday night, so the music was loud! Fun for friends and drinks!

La Vaca Frita! Awesome Latin American food and super fun vibe. The best part is that you can get canned on endless mojitos while playing the bongos as you wait for your food to arrive.

A true hidden Gem...!!! Locals don't even know about this place, simply because of it's "Secret" locale, right off Lake City Way where it starts on the south end. The Mojitos here are top notch and very strong, but delicious. The Ceviche appetizer has got to be one of the best deals in town, with fresh ingredients, fried plantains, and a huge portion, can be a meal by itself. Deborah the manager, Looum the owner, and Carlos the chef will take care of you. Nice patio for the Summer, lots of Latin percussion instruments available to jam with, Afro-Cuban music, TV for Mariners or Seahawks, absolutely an oasis in the city, please stop by.

This joint is the real deal! Outstanding food in a tiny but friendly space with great service. I would go back just for the fried yucca, but don't miss the Vaca Frita or the Camarones Carmen Miranda. And where else are you going to find a perfect Caipirinha? So,yea, Latin food from all over South America and the Caribbean cooked by a staff led by Luam Wersom, your new best friend. You will be hooked!

Located in an odd spot at the Roosevelt end o Lake City Way, you might miss this restaurant if you didn't know if was there, even if it is painted bright yellow. On a rainy day, this place will really cheer you up. The mojitos are good and the chicken sandwiich is amazing! It comes with little patties of fried plantains and a garlic sauce. The space is small and, on a really cold, snowy day, can be a bit cold because the place is mostly windows. The people are wonderful and friendly. The cook (and owner) has come out more than once to answer questions we had about the food, even telling us how to make certain things we really liked. Of course, we usually go during the day, when it's slow. He probably wouldn't be able to do that if it was busy. All in all, we love this place and visit often.

This small restaurant is a happy place to visit. Friendly staff greets you and explains the menu. Everything we sampled was spiced to perfection and delicious! I can't wait to go back again!

Absolutely, downright, one of my favorite Latin food restaurants...ever! Reasonably priced and amazing food: Arepas - had the shredded pork and shredded beef. Both were incredible with shredded meet that melted in my mouth. The corn cake was different than I’ve had before, and not too much corn. Ensalada Palmitos - first time I’ve tried a salad with hearts of palm and it has become my favorite. The lettuce is mixed with numerous hearts of Palm and silky avocado. The tomatoes and onion added the touch needed. The mango dressing was light and paired well with the entire ensemble. Milanese de Pollo - crunchy and seasoned chicken with the best rice I’ve had (tasted garlic!) my friend enjoyed the fries and they have a SPICY sauce that is fire! Delicious mojitos and great service. The outdoor patio was AMAZING!!!

Recent visit reveals terrible, apthetic, and just plain poor service along with average food and even the namesake mojito's lack anything but average rating. Save time, money and effort and pass up this place when in seattle.

We were staying in an airbnb in the Maple Leaf neighborhood and found Mojito on a google map search. We are so glad we did. It was so good we have been there two times. The second time the owner came out to meet us and he told us that Mojito has been opened for 18 years. The service is fantastic and the food is outstanding and the drinks were amazing too. We will defiantly find our way back to Mojito and next time bring friends with us.

Not much to add to the many 5 star reviews, except they are right on the money. Great food and mojitos, lovely staff. Looks like nice, outdoor seating, but not today in Seattle! It can get crowded, and it’s not a huge restaurant.

My friend suggested this place while I was on vacation in the Seattle area. What a great choice. Quaint place located on a small corner lot in a residential area. Near a major street but not so busy we were eating smog as we ate outside. The service was excellent and fast. The mojitos were made with top shelf ingredients and were mixed to perfection. There was a huge selection of top shelf rums at what ever price range you are comfortable with. I had the Pork Adobo. It was a lot of food. I think it was like 13 bucks but well worth it. The only downfall might be the parking and the size of the place. It's on street parking so you'll have to hunt for a spot. If it's a busy night then you'll have to wait for a table but I think that adds to the experience. Give Mojito a try, you won't be disappointed.

Been loving this place, since before the beginning! I've been good friends with the owner, for several decades now and I continue to go there several times a month, because their food and drinks an vibe are always that good!!! When you go, definitely start with a signature MOJITO or 2, chat up with neighboring tables or the staff, then order up an appetizer, like the Empanadas, Ceviche or Tostones, then one of their large entrees! Ohhh...how I love their Shredded Beef or Lechon! Once you're done with your meal and order another mojito, definitely check out their postres/desserts menu! While I'm partial to their FLAN, my next favorite is definitely their Tres Leches! This will round out your savory/sweet palate and will go home super full and happy! I promise! Hope you check them out! ¡Salud Amigos!

The restaurant does not have a large seating capacity the building appears to be a converted corner grocery story. There was light rain while we were there so there was limited outside seating and many people kept coming wanting a meal. They were all prepared to wait showing the popularity of this restaurant. The owner, Luam Wersom, was the genial host. Nothing was too much for him to please his clientele. The restaurant serves Latin American cuisine I am not sure from what specific country as we had dropped in unannounced on the recommendation of our hotel where we were staying. We are from Australia.

This is a great little restaurant with amazing food and drinks. The staff is super friendly and really make for a great experience. Highly recommend going here.

My husband and I are from Costa Rica, and we are always lookig for good quality latin food, and La casa del Mojito was a delicious surprise, I had the ceviche and it was really yummy, service was fast .. We will definitely be back!

We walked in on a Sunday night at 7:00, and the place was jumpin' ! Wow, a live Mexican band, customers singing and dancing up a storm, and Mojitos flowing ! Very fun and festive, to say the least. It's a very small place, simply furnished and very casual. The menu had a nice variety. The Mojitos were great. Dinner, however, was nothing special. Kind of bland, the meat a little over cooked, in the cases of both the beef and the pork. There were big servings of beans and rice, but the pork servings were realtively small. The staff, however, was very welcoming and friendly, providing good service. Drinks and entertainment seems to be more the restaurant's stong suit and it's probably a great place to come for a drink or two after work.

Mojito has been open for 20 years. I came here 15 years ago and came back recently now that I loved close by this food is absolutely incredible. Super friendly staff. Fun music on Fridays and Saturdays. They also have a really cute outdoor patio. This will be a regular spot for me!

The size of this cute little neighborhood favorite is no indicator of the big flavors it offers! The combination plates offer a variety of interesting accompaniments such as yucca and black beans, but the meats are to die for! My friend and I shared the marinated steak and the pork so we could try both and we could not decide which was best! I am glad we were there at off peak hours as I am sure with food this delish there is a wait other times. A real neighborhood gem!

Mon 10/22/12, 12:30: Mojito/Seattle, Wa: Tried their online ordering for a quick lunch. It was great, the item was ready when I arrived. Two smiling staff greeted at the door. Zip in & out, no delay, though I had to request the side hot sauce again, they didn’t read the online order request I guess. Watch out for the hot sauce, it is quite a kicker! The Milanesa Pollo was scrumptious, great seasoning and tender, though needed to be eaten right away while it's still crunchy, else it’ll bebsoggy in the togo container. You gotto do the fried plantains with garlic dip, eat it there, don’t togo, it gets soggy. A bit pricey for lunch though but worth once a while. 4 stars

This small restaurant has a great big thumbs up. The food is authentic, plentiful and downright delicious. The Vaca Frita and Ropa Vieja are out of this world. I am personally not a fan of rice and beans but finished the entire portion. Even the plantains were great. Overall, this is one of my favorite restaurants in the Seattle area. If you visit, make it a point to meet the owner. He is a true gentleman that has a story to be told on how he started in the business.

I was really pleasantly surprised by Mojito. The food was absolutely delicious and the people were very nice! I had a chicken empanada (absolutely to-die-for) and the Pescado Mojito (also amazing!). I'm looking for an excuse to return soon and try something new off the menu. I highly recommend!

A locally owned business which serves very good food in the Lake City neighborhood. They offer outdoor seating! No reservations, so come early!

You really need to just go to this restaurant. I wrote a previous review, but hadn’t been there for the past three years, so thought I would drop another. The menu has added some new items, I had the Pescado en Guiso, and also my favorite, the Padilla Mojito Dinner signature dish. Some of the best food and drinks in Seattle. Luam The owner and his staff, are the most friendly, and inviting crew, treating you like family. The ambience, from the Caribbean painted exterior, to the Cuban/Latino music playing, sometimes a live band, really takes you to a magical place. It is a smaller place, but there is ample outdoor seating, as well as indoors. The Mojito‘s are top notch, not to mention all the other cocktails, and flights of rum. So Please support a man and business who has given so much back to the community, it will become your favorite place, I guarantee.

I was looking for some good Cuban food when I came back from visit in Tampa, FL and decided to try Mojito. My girlfriend, a vegaquarian, and I went one evening and we enjoyed the varied menu. The drinks were great of course and the food was very good: Not quite what I had in Tampa, but still very good and a friendly upbeat atmosphere. I went there a second time with a friend who knows the owner and was blown away by the dishes we had that night: the Pescado en Guiso is out of this world with a nice spinach side salad and my friend always has the grilled half chicken with black beans and rice which is awesome. A great and varied menu you are sure to enjoy.

Where have I been??? The food at this restaurant is spectacular! I've always wanted to try Latin American food and this place is THE place to go. The owners are super nice and the ambiance is cozy. If you have to wait for a table, it is definitely worth it! I can't wait to go back.

Enjoyed excellent signature drinks and great service food and drinks were served quickly and the overall service was excellent! Personally enjoyed the shrimp and it was served with a wonderful rice and pineapple. The place was busy and full yet the service was very quick and I will surely visit again soon for a repeat of the dish .

This place has got a great vibe. It's small with a triangular deck to enjoy the summer weather and warm nights. The food is prepared with great care and the Mojitos are excellent. Try the Pabellon.

Mojito is a fantastic place to take out of towners! I would consider it a local spot. Their mojitos don't disappoint and the owner Luam welcomes you as if you are a guest in his home. Be prepared to dance! If it's a Friday evening they're known to push back the tables and break out the salsa dancing. So much fun!

We were staying in an Airbnb across the street. The owner was very friendly and his recommendations were spot on. We had a wonderful meal out on the patio. The food was delicious, everyone enjoyed their meal.

We discovered Mojito earlier this year and have been back once or twice more already. It's a little hard to get to, but trust Google maps, and it will lead you the back way through the neighborhoods to street parking nearby (you can't really get to it FROM Lake City Way). Although it's officially on Lake City Way, the entrance is off to the back side, on 11th Ave NW. The restaurant is in a strange, wedge-shaped building, and in the warmer months there is some outdoor seating. The service is always bright and friendly. There are a number of good things on the menu, but my favorite is Pescado en Guiso, a white fish with rice, onions, tomatoes, and capers. Yum! My wife tried the Lechon Asado and that was solid, though not as amazing as the fish. The salads are really good and fresh and come with a tart and tangy dressing that is citrus based, I think. We both really enjoyed the Arepa appetizer we had on our first visit too, a cornmeal pastry stuffed with (for us) ham and cheese. Surprisingly, the one thing I found underwhelming was the mojito cocktail, which was thin and lacked kick. Or maybe I just disliked the $12 price tag! This is a fun, unique spot for Latin American dishes in Seattle. It has a nice, casual atmosphere, good service, and fresh, unique food. Enjoy!

I went to the location on Roosevelt Way NE. The ceviche was refreshing and the chips were fresh and puffy. The Parrilla Mojito was a disappointment. I asked for medium rare and it was well done, lacking flavor and rather tough. The black beans and rice were good. The wait staff was excellent.

After watching the movie The Chef my husband and I were craving a cuban sandwich well we went here as we have many times in the past. I don't know what has happen but is not what it is to be. Starting with bad service. (Waitress seem bored). Food ok but not how we remember. Too bad we like to support our latinos entrepenaur friends but this place needs a nudge.

We had a really great experience and an outstanding meal during our visit. The owner ended up waiting on our table and made us feel very welcome and not at all rushed on a Saturday evening. We were also encouraged to learn of the different ways he has used his business to support the local community. We would definitely encourage others to dine at this restaurant!

What a treat to have Mojitos Alive & Well in Seattle! We first went here in 2000, a tiny, bright neighborhood find. It pulses on with lively music, vibrant, comfy setting and on top- of- it staff. The staff easily explain any menu questions, make suggestions, are so fast and available. The creator of Mojito is helpful and has lived his cuisine. Thank goodness the place has stayed as it started, small, bright, clean and bursting with delicious food. The Mojitos and Margaritas are giant and fresh. The appetizer Central American treats are fun to try. Ours were plentiful and delicious on our last visit. My main course was the Camarones Carmen Miranda - wow! Plenty to take home too. My husband's seafood was fresh and he ate it all. We've eaten outside in warm weather and enjoyed the character of the tables and flowers. Neighborhood street parking has always been available easily. Viva Mojito!

What a treat to find this south american cuisine in the neighborhood! The food is always great, and the drinks are really good. Service has always been good and it's worth going back over and over.

Although a bit salty, our food was full of great flavor. Best mojitos I've ever had. Will be back soon.

excellent place to eat lunch near the lake. superb food & real good mojittos which will floor you.i havent had such mojittos earlier.

The restaurant is located in a nice neighborhood. The restaurant is small and indoors seats about 10 and outside (summer)10 also. The service is excellent, the drinks well made and the food was quick and hot! The shrimp camen miranda was yummy as well as the tostones.had the bicsteak also very good.

My boyfriend lives right by mojito and we finally tried it last night. It was hands down one of the best meals I've ever had in the Seattle area. Staff was super friendly, the mojitos and caprihinas were fantastic, and the food was delicious. Ask for hot sauce with your order!

La Casa del Mojito does not only serve outstanding mojitos, their food is also superb! I have been eating here since it opened several years ago. The menu includes dishes from Cuba, Venezuela and Colombia. I have several favorites; Cuban sandwiches, pabellón (similar to ropa vieja), bistec a caballo (also called bandeja montañera), and vaca frita. The three latter come with rice, black beans, tostones or maduros, and yuca frita. For dessert I gravitate to the tres leches cake. Of course, at least one mojito.

Oh my gosh! If you haven't been to the Mojito restaurant yet you need to go! It doesn't look like much from the outside but as soon as you step inside you'll realize you've made a great choice. The owner (Luam) always has a smile on his face and will take the time to make sure you feel right at home. The crowd is local and familiar. The ambiance is casual and the music sets the tone. The drinks and food are out of this world!!! If you want an explosion of latin flavors this is the place for you!

We have been wanting to stop in this quaint restaurant and what a pleasure, I ordered the famous oxtail soup and OMG This soup is a meal in itself. I even had some to take home. My better half had the Cuban sandwich and he gave me a bite. It was so good he didn’t leave any. Will definitely return Service was excellent

Tucked into a little side street off Lake City Way, Mojito is easy to miss. It's a colorful, small building with just the right informal Latin America look. We had the Lechon Asado and Pescado Mojito. The marinated pork was excellent, as was the fish. Service was friendly and very good. The seating inside is cozy and comfortable, and there is outside seating for nice days. If you hunger for Caribbean and Latin America food and drinks, stop there and enjoy. Remember, this is NOT Mexican food.

Best.Mojitos.Around.Town. I am OB-SESSED. Quick side note: I don't like Latin American cuisine (don't shoot me!), sorry, I'm just not a big fan of it. Let me tell you something, if Latin American food is really like Mojitos, then sign me up for the next flight to the area, because this stuff is BOMB DOT COM. Haha. During the summer at dinner time, it's going to be busy. Don't fret, just grab one of their fine-crafted, most-delicious mojitos and chill out while you wait for a table. It's a small restaurant, it can get VERY loud, the chairs a little wiggly, and you're sitting RIGHT next to the next table, but it's worth it. Seriously. The food is really good, the servers/owners are REALLY friendly, and the drinks are authentic and delicious. They also make a mean pisco sour, oh yum. I don't know why people are so negative about this place; that doesn't matter, all the more for me to eat (& drink). :)

I so enjoying coming here for lunch. The staff is so welcoming, I feel like I just stopped by to visit a friend and to have a chat. The restaurant is cozy and colourful, the staff is welcoming..."I'm so glad to you stopped by", is always the feeling I have. Each time I've come here, I feel that I've stumbled into a restaurant near a beach, and that I'm going to have a tasty meal, and it always turns out that way.

Mojito is a little off the beaten path but totally worth going to if you're looking for some Latin American cuisine. I had the fish thy was stewed in a tomato sauce and it was delicious - the fish was really fresh. My friend had one of the pork dishes and also loved it. They also have cocktails (like the namesake as well as margaritas) and beers. There is a small interior part with a bunch of tables - it's cozy and they have lots to fun musical instruments. Service is great.

We went to Mojitos on a Monday night, and were surprised to find each table full, and a 25 min. wait. After waiting the 25 min. and still not being seated, we asked to order a "Mojito platter" of appetizers to be ready once seated. After being seated, near the very noisy kitchen, we waited almost half an hour for both water, and our ordered Mojitos drinks, and another 15 min. for our pre-ordered appetizers. We received our second order but never received the 3rd or 4th items we ordered, and two hours later, asked for our bill. What little food we had was really tasty, and I'll perhaps try it again, maybe to be first in the door when they open. My companions I doubt will ever try again... as we left at 10:00 hungry...

Things we look for when dining out: atmosphere, quality of food and drinks. The drinks were great (well worth the money, as you could actually taste the liquor), food was superb and I loved the bright colors. The owner was there and came right up to our table to chat and ask about our experience. Seating is limited and a bit of a wait for food, but well worth it.

We were tourists, and the bright yellow building called out to us as we went back and forth to our B&B. On our last night in the city, we stopped in and weren't disappointed. I second everything the other reviewers have said. We were treated like family. Both the mojito and the Brazilian caipirinha we had were excellently prepared. The four of us each tried different dishes, and all the generous portions were delicious. It was a Sunday, so I had the special, a stew called Sancocho, Venezuela's weekend meal. This traditional Latin American food is almost impossible to find. I'm so sorry Colorado is so far from Washington state. I want to go back.

My husband & I had such a great lunch here the first time we discovered this place, we returned a 2nd time. We had Pescado en Guiso (fish simmered in tomato sauce) & it was so good! I order this each time as my husband tries different dishes. You can't go wrong, everything is so delicious & so authentic! The appetizers are tasty also, we tried the Empanada and Mojito Platter. Luam, the owner is super friendly & accommodating. He adjusted a dish for my husband & substituted the meat for prawns. He also brought out more of this tasty garlic/cilantro dipping sauce because I loved it so much when I didn't even ask. He is awesome! We love chatting with him when we visit. He is such a great guy, does a lot of charity work & gives back to the community.

We stumbled upon this place Sunday afternoon when we were just looking for a snack and an afternoon drink. They had a cute little patio and it happened to be happy hour! (Thurs-Sun 3pm-6pm) We each had a cocktail and a Modelo, which were both great! Our server was very attentive and so friendly!

We went to have dinner here on a Saturday night. It is relatively a small place with not too many tables. However, one of the owners was there serving the customers personally. He was really very good! The food that we ordered was very generous in its portions. Their mojitos are good but very strong!...so the designated driver should watch out for that. We really found the food to be delicious and very enjoyable. Will definitely visit this place again when we get a chance

Stumbled upon this place but so happy we did. Food was delicious. Super friend staff and service. A little out of the way but I’ll definitely go back.

I think I was there on an off night. I was lucky enough to get an open table without having to wait. This is a tiny neighborhood restaurant that was hopping and rather noisy. The server was very friendly but clearly overwhelmed and had difficulty taking care of all 8 of the tables by herself, especially after a diner spilled a drink. She refilled drinks when she had the opportunity but not as frequently as needed. The food was pretty good but would have been better hot. The steak was flavorful but tough. These are the kind of mom and pop places that I love to try out and if I lived nearby I would definitely give them another try but I have to admit - I felt a bit disappointed.
Great owner, great food!
The national dish of Venezuela is amazing, but honestly everything my friends got looked amazing too
