This place shoots for an upscale bar and I think it misses that mark. The signature cocktails were different each time ordered so it was hard to tell what they were supposed to taste like. Food is portrayed as if for a foodie but feels more like a churched up BBQ fusion experience. Plenty of hipsters who think overpaying for a drink means they are in a high class establishment. However I think their New Year’s party has always received great reviews!

Lackluster for the price. Instead of a friendly greeting, the host greeted us with “we close at 9pm” - it was 8pm and we were aware and planning to be quick. Put in our drink and food order immediately at the same time. Timing was so off. We got our food and still hadn’t received our drinks, ate with our waters. Paid $25 for the wagyu burger and it was under seasoned, to the point that the disappointment outweighed our hunger - ate about half and called it quits. The seared sea bass had an ungodly amount of bones, especially for the $35 price tag. The chicken was crispy, but unsurprisingly under seasoned as well. Then alas, the drinks came after we finished our meal. The only server on shift was visibly distressed. The manager didn’t seem to care as she walked around with her Louis Vuitton and texting on her cell as if she was counting down the minutes to leave as her poor hourly employees struggled to end their shifts. Overall, disappointing for the $200+ total. This was extremely upsetting, imagine if we came for a special event ?? I’d recommend skipping this spot, there are better places with better management. You’d get better service at Chili’s lol.

Grabbed quick drinks and snacks. Located on the 20th floor of the Thompson hotel. Great view across the entire downtown. Service was nice. A bit pricey but expected.

I went to the Moon's Daughters at the top of the Thompson hotel, and had an absolutely amazing experience! Jayy, our server, was on point! Our drinks where never empty!

Unsure the walk or Uber from San Antonio Riverwalk made this worth it, The view from the restaurant & the food/drinks certainly never lived up to the effort made. Over-priced for what it is & over-rated.

Excellent service from Adriana, good person and excellent quality of person, very kind, very helpful and attentive, congratulations

Heard of the restaurant from a TV show and had mixed expectations but was pleasantly surprise. I was completely blown away and I will remember for the next time or let it be know that Jayen was our waiter and truly was the BEST in the restaurant. I give kudos and praise to him. The meal was truly a taste of excellence in my opinion I will truly recognize Jayen for making this evening very special . Dessert was a culinary delight with donuts caramel sauce and coffee ice cream.

I recently dined at The Moon's Daughter and, unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. Despite the restaurant not being particularly busy, service was incredibly slow. It took around 45 minutes just to receive our first round of drinks, and subsequent rounds took another 30 minutes each. To make matters worse, the staff completely forgot to bring the last drink my wife ordered. While the drinks themselves were well-made, the delays were frustrating. As for the food, it was decent but certainly not worth the price tag. The “sharable” scallops dish, which was misleadingly advertised as plural, arrived as a single scallop—far from what we expected for a sharable plate. The lamb chops, while tasty, came in a very small portion of just four bite-sized pieces. The eggplant side was the biggest disappointment, arriving overcooked to the point of being mushy, resembling mashed potatoes in texture. For a total cost of around $175 for two people, the experience did not justify the price. Given the slow service, small portions, and the average quality of the food, there are many better options in San Antonio where you can enjoy better food, service, and value. Sadly, I would not recommend The Moon's Daughter, and I don't plan to return.

I absolutely love the moon’s daughter it has such a wonderful view of San Antonio the host Radica was very welcoming and the server I had amazing knowledge about the menu and over all enjoyed the atmosphere I will be coming back again thank yall for the great service and hospitality

This place is fantastic! First off, the overlooking view of San Antonio is amazing. The best in the City! We had drinks at the bar and ate the Shrimp (Gambas). The shrimp were prepared perfectly. The hummus that was served with the wonderful house bread was out of this world. We normally do not like hummus, but my husband almost ordered a 2nd serving just get more of it! Compliments to whoever makes this. And, then could it get better? Yes, it can! Mike, the bartender, made me the best ever Margarita I've ever had. My husband had a specialty drink and he thought it was awesome as I did my Margaritas. Yes, Mike made me two. Definitely recommend this place. It is cashless so plan accordingly. Also recommend valet parking - just makes your life easier. It is pricey and worth every penny.

While at the Thompson we enjoyed their offerings. A highlight was the rooftop restaurant for dinner. We had drinks, wine and dinners. All were as good as the top flight service.

Brunch with friends. Floor was dirty, service was super slow - we must have waited half an hour for hot drinks. No tomato juice available for a Sunday brunch, so no Bloody Marys. Attitude from the waitress was bizarre - we were served coffee with an oily film on it and when we asked for it to be replaced she said vaguely “oh yeah, others have said the same…”. No apology and no rush to replace the drinks. Food was passable. It wasn’t busy and wasn’t cheap, so no excuse.

I was frankly appalled at the attitude and sour face ("RBF" as my daughter calls it.) of the hostess a the moon daughter's restaurant on the evening of Jan. 1st. She was not friendly at all when we asked for a table and we were likewise surprised there was a 45 minute wait when the girl at the front desk told us that we wouldn't need a reservation at all. On top of all this the service was painfully slow for so few patrons that night. Same thing happened the next morning for breakfast - so slow! At one point we asked for an extra piece of toast and it took more than 20 minutes....for a piece of toast. There could not have been more than 20 people there having breakfast and I noticed at least 5 waitstaff. This food is way too overpriced for such poor service. It's a nice location and view, but far too few tables to serve patrons as well. This place is less of a restaurant and more of a glorified bar. I was there to use some credits as an Amex Platinum member, but now I'm sorry I even bothered....twice. Not up to standards.

Great first time experience! Unique Mediterranean style menu - the food was amazing! My wife ordered the Lamb Shank and I ordered the Braised Beef Short Rib. Sitting outside for the sunset is a must.

Drinks at the bar to start were excellently mixed by Ernesto. Dinner on the patio was great. Jayden served us and had great recommendations. He was attentive and respectful of our pace. All four of us had the jam burgers and loved them. View was spectacular. A very fun night!!

This was not our first time to Moon's Daughter. The food is exceptional and the drinks will leave you speechless. The mixology that goes on behind the bars is amazing. On this particular night we were sitting in the lounge and unfortunately we witnessed a Hispanic bartender named Michael throwing a temper tantrum in storming through the establishment slamming doors. We were seated close to one of the bars where you could hear him bickering and complaining about his job. Most unpleasant for a date night with my wife. As our busy schedule with our kids and our work schedule does not allow us to have a lot of nights free. We luckily did not personally have to deal with Michael as a server but I could hear how he was being rude and discourteous to the other patrons in the bar at the lounge area. Our waitress was amazing I wish I could remember her name. But the manager Matt came in to save the day. He apologized for the rudeness of Michael and took care of me and my wife. Matt is the reason that I am giving this a five star review for his constant attention and professionalism. If I could give Matt 10 stars I would have. If I could have rated Michael separately I would have given him zero stars. MATT ROCKS!!!! Thank you Matt.

Went on a Friday night around 7:30. Good crowd. Unique menu with many small plate options. Drinks were good as was the service. Definitely worth checking out.

10/10 this place is amazing, first off the food here is so tasty, I took radica’s recommendation on some of the dishes and it was so good! Second the view is beautiful, and the service is the best I’ve had in San Antonio. Would recommend
Come for the view!
This place has an excellent view of San Antonio. It's on the 20th floor of the Thompson and offer a rooftop patio with a fun, lounge/club vibe. But I'm not sure if they are understaffed, but drinks took almost 30min. They did comp the first round due to how long it took, but still, something to work on. We had dinner plans, so we decided to only order an app because we love charred octopus, but it was terrible! Fishy, giant chunks that were over cooked and rolled in some sort of nuts? Very odd and not appetizing. But overall, still worth getting a drink and checking out the view.
